tangle me in all your broken pieces (and watch me stay) | ch 2
Loki x Reader
Series Summary: An Asgardian god has just threatened your planet and you were called in to provide a little help. What you didn't expect was to develop a strange soft spot for said god, who hid more pain behind his cold facade than you thought possible.
A/N: I'm not sure if I completely like how this turned out. It feels a lot like a filler chapter, but nonetheless, a very necessary one. Next chapter will be more interesting and have more of Loki as we head into the main plot, I promise. <3

"Are you out of your damn mind?" Fury screamed, he dragged you by the arm all the way into Banner's laboratory—nearly making you stumble on your own feet as you struggled to keep up with him—where Tony, Steve, Natasha, Bruce, and Thor, stood waiting.
You shook yourself off of his grasp, huffing angrily and adjusting your black cardigan over your shoulders. Everyone's eyes were on you, but they kept silent. Your chest heaved with adrenaline. With your sleeve, you brushed away the trail of blood under your nose.
"One minute you tell me you just want to talk, and wouldn't take any risks," Fury kept his tone loud, gesturing with his hands to where he'd just dragged you out of the room Loki was kept in. "And the next, I look at the cameras and what do I see? You're standing in front of him, inside the damn cage."
You gritted your teeth, breathing sharply through your nose. Your eyes were downcast, and you felt like a child being reprimanded for misbehaving.
You stole a single glance at Tony, who stood just a few steps behind Fury. He had his arms crossed over his chest, his lips hung open and he shook his head with indignance. "What the hell were you thinking? Do you have any idea of what could've happened?"
"Give me one single reason as to why I shouldn't send you home. Right. Now." Fury spoke with finality, both hands resting on his waist expectantly. He was fuming, you doubt you'd ever seen him this angry.
You knew you had been reckless, unbelievably so; in deciding to ditch the rules and simply take Loki's fate and mind into your own hands. But his pain had spoken louder then. And damn your heart, maybe it still does.
"I was right," you stated, raising your chin and quirking an eyebrow at Fury. "Loki's mind was being controlled. Not completely, but he wasn't the only one there. Something else was twisting his thoughts and pushing him into doing what he was doing." You took a step closer to him, sparing a glance at every person in the room before focusing back on Fury. "I. Fixed. It. You're welcome."
Fury scoffed, a small, slightly mocking smile coming to his lips. "Oh, you fixed it? Just snatched the bad out of him then?"
"There was an enchantment, a connection to the same person who tortured him into obedience,"
"Tortured?" You heard Thor wonder quietly.
"I reached into his mind and severed it, just like you brought me here to do." You finished.
"I brought you here to fix the people he messed up, our people. Not him," Fury argued back, again pointing a finger toward Loki's general direction in the Helicarrier.
"So is he not worth saving?" You asked quietly, tilting your head slightly sideways with furrowed brows. It was rhetorical, and he knew. You held his gaze for a while longer, daring; until you turned to look at Loki's scepter that now rested on a table near the windows; "the plague in his mind came from that," you nodded towards the weapon, "I suggest you get it as far away from us as possible, it's not worth the trouble."
"It- it makes sense," Bruce spoke up for the first time, adjusting his glasses as he took a single step forward. "Loki had used the scepter to mind control people, it's not farfetched to think he would be under the same fate." He shrugged.
You met his eyes and gave him a grateful nod, noticing the way Natasha also raised a brow in agreeance.
The tension inside the laboratory lay thick in the air, conflicting opinions charged it with electricity and gave you goosebumps. You crossed your arms over your chest to create some sense of self-reassurance. "When I freed Loki's mind, I cut his connection to the alien army he would bring to Earth. He has no means of doing it now, no location to open a portal to. It's over."
There was a beat of silence, everyone exchanged curious glances with each other. Yet you could see Bruce breathing out a sigh of relief, a smirk appearing on Tony's face as he gave you a sneaky wink, and a new look of concern crossing Thor's face.
Fury was still very much pissed at your actions, but as he glared at you, you could feel just a smidge of pride in there too.
"I'm sorry," you said, voice gentle. "I did what I felt was right."
Tony came up to you then, he laid a hand on your shoulder and squeezed. "Good job, but never do something like that again. Or you're gonna give him a heart attack," he gestured at Fury, who only told him off with a gesture of his hand.
All you did was close your eyes and nod. You couldn't know if your decision had actually been the right call or not, but what was done was done.
And when Clint and the others attacked the Helicarrier, you were able to free their minds pretty easily before too much damage was done. Clint was lightheaded and tired, but he knew enough to point agents to the location where Selvig was being held. The dust started to settle then.
─── ·❆· ───
Now that Loki's plan was no longer a threat, the scepter had already been moved to a facility on the other side of the ocean, and the Tesseract had been recovered, the only problem that remained was; what to do with Loki.
You sat at the round glass table in the Helicarrier's main control room, sunken in your chair and fumbling with the long sleeves of your cardigan while your teammates discussed Loki's fate. You tried to keep to yourself, feeling as if you had already drawn too much attention today as is.
You couldn't help but notice the different energy in the room, however; all the other agents walking about and between the rows of computers were much calmer than they had been this morning. The glow of a setting sun seeped through the huge main windows at the front with an air of tranquility.
This was your doing, at least partially. You'd always been one for helping people, but never at the expense of your own safety. Yet today you'd put that on the line, and it turned out okay. It began to feel selfish that you'd kept your abilities to yourself for so long, when maybe you could be using them for good.
The god of mischief himself had been… quiet. Strangely quiet. You kept glancing at the displayed image of him near the control panels; he still sat on that same bench inside the glass cage, slumped against the wall, and staring at nothing. It brought more questions than answers to you—for a second you panicked with the thought that you'd somehow broken his mind, but then you remembered who he was, a god. Part of you wished you could go in there again to see him. Of course, that was most definitely not an option anymore.
You still couldn't place why you cared about what would happen to him at all. You came, and you fixed people's minds. Your work here was done.
So why did you feel like it wasn't?
Thor was in the middle of an argument with Fury about how his brother was, in fact, not evil incarnate when you finally spoke up; "Why not keep him here?"
There was silence, and everyone's eyes were immediately on you again. You cursed under your breath. You should probably start thinking before you speak.
"Excuse me, I thought we'd just agreed on no more shit ideas from you," Tony pointed a finger at you as he spoke, with an eyebrow raised at your audacity.
You shrugged, "It's just a thought, okay? Loki sees humans as below him, he wanted to rule over our planet," you reasoned, "Well, make him learn his lesson here, live in our shoes, and see that he's not above us."
Tony narrowed his eyes at you, "Have you been drinking?"
You gave him the middle finger with a deadpan look.
"I must agree with the lady," Thor finally spoke again, his gaze cautiously shifting from you, to Tony, to Fury, "It was only after I was stranded here on Earth that I truly understood the purpose of being worthy."
"And how exactly do you suppose we do that?" Fury scoffed, leaning back on his chair, "Keep him on a leash, tell him to sit down, and just hope he doesn't retaliate?"
"That would be a sight," Natasha mumbled against the rim of the coffee mug she held, before taking a sip.
Thor seemed to be in deep thought for a moment, and then; "I can speak to my father, Odin, he should be able to help with keeping Earth safe from Loki's tricks."
"Am I the only one who feels a little uneasy about allowing the guy who just threatened to bring an army to our planet, to stay?" Steve looked from one end of the table to the other, gauging everyone's reactions.
"No, you are not," Fury spoke matter of factly, making sure to throw you a glare in the process.
"I for one want him as far away as possible," Clint grumbled from his place leaning against the wall.
"I don't love the idea either," Bruce joined in for the first time since you all sat down, "But she singlehandedly prevented a possible war, people," he gestured toward you, "I think it's worth considering her idea."
You sat up straighter, leaning your elbows on the table, "I can keep an eye on him myself if you let me. I'm pretty sure I would be able to feel it if he tried anything more… severe."
Everyone exchanged glances in silence, all of them holding the same apprehension.
"I shall speak with my father," Thor decided, "And if he assures me that Loki would not be a threat if he were to stay, then you can decide."
─── ·❆· ───
When Thor came back with the news that Odin would, in fact, be able to completely strip Loki of his powers for an undetermined amount of time, things were pretty straightforward from there.
Without his seiðr, Loki would be like any other human. Easy enough to contain. So with a bit of united convincing from both yourself and Thor that the best course of action would be to keep Loki here, on Earth, so he could serve his sentence living amongst the very people he wished to rule over, your teammates eventually—albeit some of them begrudgingly—relented.
Loki's progress would be tracked and monitored regularly, and he'd only be able to leave Earth once he atoned for his mistakes and the lives he took. You'd maybe even go as far as calling it a rehabilitation program—though he'd probably actually kill you if you told him that.
Fury was not exactly pleased, you could feel the tension flowing off of him when the decision was made, but he wasn't totally opposed either. The fact that he would also be keeping a close eye on Loki was a given. More than anything, he didn't like the idea of you being involved, yet you suddenly had the urge to prove to him that you could handle this, that you were capable of it.
And Tony was… a whole other story.
"No. Nope. And have I said… absolutely not?" He spoke matter-of-factly, putting on his sunglasses even though he was still inside the Helicarrier, more specifically in the kitchen.
"Think about it, Tony," you followed after him as he opened cabinet after cabinet, looking for the mugs. "Your tower is the safest building in all of New York, if there is a right place for us to keep an eye on him, while also making sure he actually goes out and sees our world, it's there." You opened the cabinet to your left and pulled out a mug, handing it to Tony.
He paused, looking from the mug, to you, and back to the mug before snatching it from your hand. "All I'm hearing is that you wanna bring a lunatic, self-absorbed diva into my home."
You held yourself back from rolling your eyes. "I told you, I'll be the one watching him, don't you trust me?"
Tony filled his mug to the brim with black coffee and then turned to you, raising his sunglasses. "You said it yourself, you're not the hero type." He stepped closer, observing you, "You once told me you wanted nothing to do with this world, with your abilities even." He paused, looking you straight in the eye, "What changed?"
Your lips hovered yet no words came out. You didn't know. He was right, this wasn't your world. Risking your life for the sake of others was not you. And yet you felt this pull on your heartstrings every time you so much as thought about all the pain you'd felt inside Loki; all the memories, the torture, and the cries for help that no one answered.
You realized that perhaps the reason why you cared about Loki's fate, was because if not you, it seems like there would be no one who would. Not even Thor, not in the way Loki needed.
A sigh went past your lips. "You don't know what I saw when I was in his mind, Tony. What happened to him, I-" You briefly avoided his eyes, shrugging halfheartedly. "He's hurting, I just want to give him a chance." Stark knew you too well, there was no point in lying.
A low groan escaped Tony and he took a generous sip of his coffee, "Damn you and your heart and those puppy eyes," he mumbled, then said more clearly; "Alright, if we're doing this, it's on you, you hear me? You're gonna be responsible for him, if he hurts someone, or worst of all, damages my tower, I'm holding you accountable."
You grimaced and nodded once, holding back a chuckle; "You make it sound like I'm adopting a feral cat."
Tony raised a finger at you, "Keep that thought, treat it like it, and you might just succeed."
─── ·❆· ───
The sun was high and bright in the sky when you landed the quinjet on an empty, grassy field where the Allfather himself would come to see Loki. You sat on one side of the jet, beside Fury; Thor and Loki sat on the other side, the latter wearing handcuffs and a muzzle; Tony was in the driver's seat.
Even though Loki couldn't speak, he glared at you the whole way. His piercing gaze made the entire trip a complete nightmare because you couldn't relax at all.
But at last, you had arrived. The back doors of the jet lowered open, allowing for the bright sunlight to seep in and make you squint until your eyes adjusted.
You walked out first, closing your eyes and taking a deep breath in as soon as your boots touched the grass. The smell of trees and the sunlight on your skin had never felt so good after being cooped up inside an airship for so long.
Your teammates followed after a moment later, Thor guiding Loki by the arm. The brothers walked ahead on the extensive field while you, Tony, and Fury hung a few steps back. No words were exchanged, the only acknowledgment given was a shared nod between Thor and Fury.
There was a sudden burst of light coming from the sky that made you flinch, and when it disappeared—leaving an intriguing burnt mark on the grass in its wake—Odin and Frigga stood before Thor and Loki. Even from a little far away, you could feel Loki's heart rate spiking immediately.
Thor finally removed Loki's muzzle, and the trickster opened and closed his mouth in relief.
"Loki…" Frigga breathed, taking half a step towards them. You felt a little bad for prying, yet you couldn't help but tune yourself to their emotions and thoughts. His mother held sympathy and worry in her gentle heart, she seemed anxious to reach out for him.
"Hello, mother," Loki spoke for the first time, his voice hoarse, "Have I made you proud?"
You clenched your fists before burying your hands in your pockets. The pain clouding Loki's heart still persisted, you wondered how he lived with it so seamlessly; on the outside, at least.
"Please, don't make this worse." Frigga pleaded to her son.
Loki tilted his head to the side; "Define 'worse'."
"Enough," Odin spoke up, his voice grave and commanding. He held his chin high, as if looking down upon Loki.
"I really don't see what all the fuss is about," Loki chuckled lightly, gesturing with his cuffed hands.
"Do you truly not feel the gravity of your crimes?" Odin shot back, his golden armor shining under the sun, "Wherever you go there is war, ruin, and death."
Loki kept a smirk on his lips, seamless. But you were able to sense the stumble in his heartbeat, the catch of air in his throat. It cut deep. Yet Loki believed the words said to him to be true, even if they hurt him.
"I came here to rule the people of Earth as a benevolent god. Just like you," Loki told him easily.
Thor sighed and shook his head, clasping his hands together in front of his body.
"We are not gods. We are born, we live, we die. Just as humans do." Odin stated.
"Give or take 5000 years," Loki shrugged halfheartedly.
Odin shook his head, "All of this because Loki desires a throne." His voice held no emotion, as if this were nothing more than an inconvenience on his day.
"It is my birthright," Loki said in the same heartbeat.
"Your birthright was to die," Odin raised his voice, it echoed until it reached the trees far away. "As a child, cast out onto a frozen rock."
You had to gulp back a sudden lump in your throat, your eyes burned. You felt Loki's pain as if it was your own, and yet, when he finally kept quiet under the weight of his father's words, you knew you weren't feeling even half of it.
Loki's actions towards Earth shouldn't be excused, no. But you already knew that this ran much deeper than simply what happened on your planet.
And while beside you Tony muffled a chuckle at the sight of Loki being chastised by the Allfather, you held back tears.
You took a moment to focus on Odin then, he was difficult to read, but you sensed disdain and indifference there. Loki was more burden than son to him.
"If I am for the axe, then for mercy's sake," Loki breathed with a half smile, "just swing it."
His words sent a chill down your spine.
A beat of silence passed, the only sounds being the distant singing of birds and a soft breeze ruffling the grass and leaves. Odin took a single step forward, still towering over Loki, who also refused to lower his head.
"Frigga is the only reason you remain alive." The words calmly fell from Odin's mouth.
Loki locked eyes with his mother and drew in a sharp breath. You had a feeling he had something to say, but didn't.
"The people of Midgard have made an offer, and you will accept, as did I."
The eyes of the god of mischief turned back to Odin when he continued talking, now glinting with new curiosity.
"You will remain here, living peacefully amongst the ones you once wished to rule over." Odin's tone left no room for argument, "You will be stripped of your powers and shall remain in exile until you have atoned for all your mistakes and crimes."
Loki scoffed and stumbled backward, his lower lip trembling and bright eyes shining with unshed tears. He argued back just as fiercely; "You cannot be serious. This is outrageous, a disgrace, I will not accept-"
"You have been given the most generous offer you could ever hope for," Odin once again raised his voice over Loki's, his patience wearing thin, "Were it up to me, you would be locked up in the dungeons of Asgard for eternity, and I will make sure that is your fate if you dare disobey my orders."
Loki's breath came out in shaky puffs, he desperately looked from Odin, to Thor, until he settled on Frigga. "Mother…" The word was nothing but a quiet plea, for what, you doubt even he knew.
The panic coursing through Loki's body was nearly sending you into a panic. You had to avoid your gaze from him for a moment to breathe, telling yourself that this was the best for him even if he didn't believe it yet.
"It is decided!" Odin exclaimed. He raised a hand towards Loki then, speaking vehemently; "I now take from you your power, your seiðr." The skies rumbled in the distance and the wind around you picked up speed. "In the name of my father and his father before!" The armor Loki still wore slowly fell from his body and clattered to the ground in broken pieces, leaving him in only black pants and a long-sleeved dark green shirt.
Silent tears cascaded down Loki's cheeks, his eyes fixed on the ground.
"You will remain here," Odin spoke with finality, "Indefinitely." And with that, he harshly turned around and walked away.
The silence that lingered then was an unbelievably heavy one. Loki refused to raise his eyes, even when Frigga walked towards him. She raised a hand and gently touched Loki's cheek, a melancholic smile painted her features. "Be well, my son," she whispered to him before turning around as well.
And with another flash of light, they were gone.
You were stunned into silence. Trying and failing to wrap your mind around what you'd just witnessed. You couldn't take your eyes off Loki's broken form, heart thundering against your chest. He looked so… small, cuffed hands shaking heavily, hair askew, and clothes so bare compared to his armor from just a moment ago.
A joyfully impressed whistle came from beside you and captured your attention. "That's one way to start the day," Tony commented with an over-exaggerated grimace, "Right, let's get moving, people. I have to be in the city in half an hour." He started towards the jet as if it was just another Thursday.
Thor looked over his shoulder to Loki, undoubtedly feeling at least part of the weight of what just happened, "Come on, brother."
Fury slowly turned away and followed Tony as well. You, however, stayed glued to the ground, heavy wind ruffling your hair.
You watched as Loki took staggered steps behind Thor, seemingly still trapped in the daze of what would be his new reality. That is, until he raised his gaze and locked eyes with you. His expression turned stone cold, colder even than how it had been when you'd gone visit him in the glass cage.
"You," Loki hissed through gritted teeth, his steps grew larger and quicker toward you with a newfound urgency, eyes burning with raw anger; "This is all your fault. If you hadn't interfered I wouldn't be-"
Loki was abruptly cut off by Thor's hand colliding with his chest and stopping him in his tracks. The god of thunder came to stand between you and his brother, eyes just as stern; "Must I remind you, brother," Thor spoke gravely, "That if you so much as consider harming anyone here, it's straight to Asgard's dungeons."
A scoff went past Loki's lips as he took a step back from Thor. They held each other's gaze for a beat, until Loki pursed his lips and shook his head. "How far have we fallen," he whispered, before walking past Thor.
Loki made sure to harshly bump into your shoulder as he walked by you and towards the waiting jet.
You stumbled in your stance but remained frozen in place. "Oh boy," you breathed, eyes wide with the realization of what you had just gotten yourself into, "This will be fun."

Chapter 12
Summary : Your relationship with Loki is growing, your mom tries to play a matchmaker again.
Warning: 18+, Soft Smut, mention of psychological torture, angst, insecurities, self deprecating behaviour, anxiety and overwhelming emotions
Tumblr media
"Captain? " Loki called out for Steve as he was about to step out of the training room so he turned around and looked at Loki "May I have a word with you?"
"What is it?" Steve crossed his arms as he questioned.
"I wanted to discuss that statement you gave about me, that I was pretending to be you to steal the scepter" Steve chuckled as loki said that,
"Loki loki, everything is out in the open now, you can drop the act and your lies..it was probably something you did before you disappeared" Steve turned around to leave again
"But what if I'm not lying? What if I wasn't there? What if it wasn't me? Steve halted in his steps as he thought about it "Give it a thought"
Loki walked out , leaving Rogers to contemplate over his words. How could it be possible? He saw the exact doppelganger of him and only loki had the ability to do that. The doppleganger did seem a little different though.
Loki was supposed to be at some gala with other Avengers in the evening and the thought saddened you, mainly because you knew you probably won't see him tonight and you had seen him just twice in the last week, and he was also taking Melisaa to the gala so there were plenty of reasons to keep you anxious throughout the day. You knew he wasn't interested in her but there will be other women there, it was a fancy Gala and all famous rich people were invited, what if he meets someone interesting and they hit it off? What if he realizes that you weren't the best thing he could do in midgard.
Was it too soon to show him your crazy side yet? It's been almost five months since you had met him but it already felt like a lifetime, you have never had a man who made you feel so fulfilled and you didn't even have sex yet. He had so much more to offer to you than just sex, he understood you and your neediness but that could get tiring with time. That's what drove so many guys away from you because you showed them your crazy side too early.
You sat down on the sofa after work and turned the tv on, there was a red carpet and everything. You watched these people and you couldn't relate, you could never imagine yourself to ever be a part of such a circle. However Loki fit in just fine, he was a prince and it showed, his upbringing made it easier for him to blend with those pretentious people, watching him with Melissa hanging around in his arm only made you feel worse. He had a black suit on and he looked handsomer beyond this realm.
"Loki, a quick question..who are you wearing?" The girl interviewing all the celebs asked him and he seemed perplexed.
"Uhhh who am I wearing?" He looked at her confused so Melissa answered on his behalf, the furrowed brows and pursed lips made you want to hug him instantly.
"God you're cute" you whined to yourself, you felt extremely hormonal today, maybe you were pmsing again.
Tumblr media
'You're such an embarassement" Melissa whispered in his ear so he glared at her, why would they even ask such a stupid question? What was he supposed to say?
He wished you were here with him, you probably would have found him cute even when he was fumbling like a fool. As soon as they got inside the venue he let go of her hand to get away from her.
"So that's the girl he was staying with for months before you guys captured him again?" Pepper asked Tony so he looked at her for a few seconds before he spoke,
"Yeahh whhy? Isn't she perfect for him?"
"Is she? I mean they're not even talking to each other, look at him" Pepper said to him so he looked at Loki "He'd rather spend his time at the bar then be with her, they look so in love in interviews and stuff" Tony squeezed his eyes as she said that.
"Yeah may be the relationship has run its course"
She looked at him confused and then she shrugged. Her curiosity has been peaked though.
"Brother, when all these people are inebriated I can drop you off to see lady y/n' Loki gave him a side eye as Thor approached him with the proposal.
"Alright, what am I missing here? What is the catch?"
"Catch?"
"Motive, you must have a motive, you are not helping me because of the goodness of your heart are you? Where do you go?" Thor was taken aback by the sudden scrutiny.
"I'm appalled brother, is this what I get for reuniting you with the love of your life? Must it be this difficult for you to believe that I want your happiness?" Thor retorted.
"Hahaha, I laughed, now tell me the truth, who are you seeing? Oh is it the mortal you were besotted with?" Loki asked him again.
"I am not seeing Jane.. absolutely not"
"That is fabulous, Asgard's first man in the line of throne is courting a mortal, what is mother's opinion about that?" Thor sighed, there was no denying it any longer.
"She doesn't know yet and she can not know and for the love of norns lower your voice"
"Oh I'm just overjoyed brother, mother might be unaware of your insolent behaviour but do you really think the loyal snitch would stay quiet for long?"
"Yes he will, Heimdall gave me his word" Loki rolled his eyes as he heard that.
"Oh I forgot he was the royal snitch of Odin, Frigga and Thor"
"Well perhaps he might have been fond of you if you hadn't played those countless tricks on him as a child" Loki scoffed at the insult.
"Yes, a child, I was a child"
"You froze him merely a few years ago"
"He commited treason "
Thor rolled his eyes at the comment but what Loki said next pleased him "Whatever your hidden motive might be, I'm still grateful so–"
"Are you trying to tell me you appreciate my help?"
"Yes"
"Well I appreciate your appreciation "
Loki shook his head before he smiled.
Tumblr media
Your phone was ringing so you picked it up hoping that it was Loki, unfortunately it wasn't him but your mother instead..
"Hey mom"
"Hi, listen, remember David's best man Eugene?"
"Gee mom I'm good, how are you?" She groaned at the response before she asked you the same question again.
"Can't say that I do"
"Okay whatever" She sighed deeply before she spoke again "His son is going to be in Minnesota for two days, I'm going to send you his phone number, talk to him" the anxiety rose as she mentioned one more guy she wanted to set you up with.
"What? Isn't he like 40??" You screamed as if you weren't canoodling a guy who was forty plus an extra thousand years.
"He's 35 y/n, he's a doctor and well reputed, you're not some 20 year old yourself, just do me a favor and meet him once"
"Mom I'm not going to do that, I'm seeing someone" you said to her, hoping she'd respect that and would realise that you were fucking 30.
"Yeah who is it? Who are you seeing?"
"God"
You could feel your mother's eyes rolling at the quip, but you weren't lying to her.
"Just show him around, if nothing..you can atleast be friends with him, are you against that as well now?"
You groaned as she continued to be insufferable about it so you agreed to see this man, after all he'd only be there for two days.
"Fine I'll show him around"
You hung up the phone and sighed, this wasn't what you needed, it was like a cherry on the top of a perfect day. You opened YouTube and saw several videos about the stupid gala, you just wanted to see what people were saying about the new IT couple Meloki as they liked to call them affectionately. You stumbled upon a video that showed their relationship timeline from the moment they met. Wow some people really had way too much time on their hands to be so invested like this. You read the comments and some of them made you laugh while others made you feel even worse,
Tumblr media
You put the phone down in order to not hurt yourself any more.
You felt horrible at the moment and every time such feelings occurred you felt overwhelmed by the whirlpool of emotions. You were in love with him and he had become the best friend you had always wanted in your life, someone who wouldn't use you and deceive you for selfish purposes, there was a genuine affection from his side that you always felt whenever he was around you but then you have had such friends before, you had those people who cared at first but now they didn't even know whether you were alive or dead.
Sometimes it was who had to cut them off because they couldn't stop hurting you but that didn't mean that you came out unscathed, it still hurt, the memories hurt, the promises hurt, the loss of friendship hurt.
You laid down on the bed and cried your heart out, you spent a month where you couldn't get in touch with Loki and those days were damaging, you didn't think you'd be able to go through that pain again. It was easier to move on when the people you considered your friends had hurt you but losing Loki? You didn't think you'd ever survive losing the way he cared about you, you couldn't imagine seeing a day where you two would be nothing but strangers to each other.
It was starting to get harder to breathe, your own overthinking was driving you into panic, you stuffed your face between the pillow as you cried and cried. In that moment you just wanted to talk to him and have him tell you that he won't hurt you or leave you like others did.
When you heard the knocks on the window just a few seconds later for a second you thought you had imagined it but then you looked at the window and there he was smiling so innocently so you got up, wiped your face as best as you could and walked towards the window to open it so he could get in, he had a dark green shirt on and a black trouser, you could see his long hair waving because of the wind,
"Hiiii" you mumbled as you opened the window but before he could climb in he grabbed your chin and pulled you in to kiss you softly before he let go "Ummm i thought you were not coming tonight"
"I was missing you darling" you nodded and stepped back so he could get in, he noticed you had his shirt on that he had left there or in other words the shirt you had stolen from him.
"Are you okay..you seem..were you crying?" You shook your head as you turned around, you didn't want to snap in front of him.
Before you could get away he grabbed your arm around turned you towards him, he hugged you briefly before he pulled away and grabbed your chin to make you look at him
"Now tell me what's wrong and this time I don't want you to lie to me" he asked, his voice was tender and sweet.
"Nothing..it's nothing…I was just missing you" you pursed your lips to control your sobs but they came out anyways,
"I was missing you"
"You were?" You sobbed even harder and his eyes teared up too.
"How could I not sweetheart hmm?" He cupped your cheeks, leaned down to kiss you and his thumbs proceeded to wipe your tears simultaneously,
"That's just not it, is it? Something else is eating you up..tell me, share with me" he questioned you but you could only hiccup between your cries. Why were you like this?
"It's ..I don't want to annoy you"
"Annoy me? Did I annoy you that day when I wept like a baby in your arms?"
He questioned you softly so you shook your head, you looked like a child at the moment and it made him smile. He just wanted to take away whatever was bothering you and make you feel better
"I just don't want you to leave because people leave when I'm like this, they don't like me like this" the broken voice and the fear your words held made his heart sink, to learn that people had hurt you so badly in the past that you felt afraid sharing your feelings with him was heartbreaking for him.
"Like what princess? You feel hurt and you just want to be held and comforted, there's nothing wrong with that" the back of his fingers brushed against your cheek as he cooed.
"No???"
"Why would this ever drive me away?"
"I just don't want you to leave " you sobbed even harder so he hugged you and gave you the time to let it all out, he could feel your heart thumping in your chest and he knew this thing has been building up from quite some time now. You both had your insecurities and he wanted to be there for you the way you have been there for him.
"Princess I just need you to know and understand that I'm not going to leave, I'd always need you more than you could ever need me" you pulled away to look at him as he said that. You didn't know why would a god like him would ever need you but you liked the sound of that, mainly because of the look on his face.
"Come here sweet thing" he cupped your cheeks again to kiss your forehead and then he took you to the bed, perhaps cuddles would make you feel better. For once he was the one being the bigger spoon here, he made you lay down on his chest and you held onto him as tightly as you could.
"I was just watching you and Melissa on the tv or should I say Meloki and it just bothered me alot" you mumbled so he laid you down on the bed and turned towards you so he could look at you while talking, he laid sideways on his arm and used those fingers of his to caress your scalp while the other hand wrapped around waist and you felt them running up and down on your back
"Meloki? What is that? An ailment of some sort?" you chuckled as he said that
"It's just not her.. I kept thinking about all those gorgeous people at the gala and I just wanted to be there with you..but at the same time I know I'd never fit in"
"Not fit in? My sweetheart you'd not only fit in but stand out between those shallow dimwits, they are just a bunch of buffoons anyways" you giggled as he said that.
"You're so cute" you scooted closer to him and placed your head between the crook of his neck, your arm curled around his slender waist,
"Someday we will tell this whole planet of our truth and it would be glorious"
"It will be glorious" you said excitedly
"Are you feeling better?"
"Mmmhmmm now that you're here I'm Okay..are you gonna stay?"
"Absolutely, besides Thor is out galavanting with his own mortal"
You pulled away to look at him as he said that.
"Is she the same girl he fell for when he came here?"
"That would be her"
"Ahhhh that's nice..ohhhh your parents are going to kill you both"
"Not me, I'm no Asgardian any longer" he chuckled so you kissed him again. He was so adorable.
"Ummmm I have to tell you something..my mother is trying to set me up with this doctor guy, he's the son of my stepfather's friend " he pulled away slightly to look at you.
"I don't like the sound of that"
"Trust me, me neither, but he's going to be here for two days so I'm just gonna meet him and show him around the city"
"What happened to the don't see other people pact?" He pouted so you pecked on his lips again.
"I'm not going to see him, I'm just going to be a fancy tour guide"
"Uhhuhh but what if he sweeps you off your feet?"
"He can compete but he's never winning against thisssss right here" you pointed towards his heart so he smiled "Mr Loki there are no men like you"
He chuckled before he got on top of you and kissed you, he hated the idea of you going out with this guy he knew nothing about but he couldn't have stopped you either, your mother wanted you to see him and you couldn't have denied, besides from what he had heard your mother hated him so it wasn't really wise to tell her about you two just yet.
"Lokiiiii" you moaned into his mouth so he hummed.
"I have your shirt on"
"You think I didn't notice?"
"Mmhmmm did you notice that I am not wearing much underneath it?" He stopped kissing you and looked at you intently, of course he noticed, you just had your underwear on but he didn't want to say anything that would make you feel uncomfortable.
"I did"
He leaned into you and kissed you again while you pulled his shirt out of the confinement of his pants before you unbuttoned it slowly, he moaned into your mouth as your fingernails caressed his bare skin,
"It amazes me how you are so unaware of your good looks" you whispered in his ear and he let out a nervous laughter, kissing down from your jawline his lips trailed over your collarbone slowly, every inch of your skin felt tingling with anticipation of what was about to happen or how far you both were going to take this.
He shifted on top of you, situating his knees on either side of your waist to support his weight.
"If you're ever burdened by those tormenting misconceptions regarding yourself again just remember that no matter where I am, your thoughts are all I carry in my head" your eyes teared up as he said that.
"Mmmmhmmm really?"
"I couldn't stop thinking about you little one, i just wanted to come back here and love you like this" you gulped as he said that, your fingers curled around his neck and you pulled him closer to you to kiss him passionately,
He wanted to stay patient but how could he when you touched him and kissed him so desperately, he could feel the heat radiating off your body, he never knew that he'd ever come to crave the feeling of a woman's warm body underneath him, he wanted to get burned by the heat you were radiating, the energy that felt torturous in other situations only gave him pleasure at the moment.
His hands sneaked under the shirt you were wearing and you let out a loud moan as his fingers trailed over your erect nipples,
"Looo..gosh babyyyy" you whined and bit on your lips as he gave them a little squeeze,
"I have thought about this a countless times since we have met" he mumbled softly.
"You did?"
"Mmmhmm especially when we were separated, your thoughts were the only thing keeping me sane at nights, in every possible way" he whispered in your ear before he sucked on your neck, you wrapped your legs around his waist , the feeling of his cock rubbing against your core was almost too much to take, your body felt shaky, you have never been the subject of such eroticism before, you only read about it and saw the sweltering passion in movies but now you knew how it felt to be touched so sensually by man you were actually in love with.
"Gossshhh Loki…oh goddd"
You cried out his name as he gyrated his hips into your core, your hand gripped his bicep to feel a sense of security because even though you were on the bed you felt as if you'd fall down even lower and deeper into the grounds, it felt like a trance that you were afraid to break out of.
He grabbed the collar of your shirt between his fists and ripped them apart in one quick motion, breaking all the buttons at once, the subtle flaunt of the inhumane strength only added to your arousal, the things he could do to you and with you and the things you'd allow him to do to you were infinite in number. You'd do anything for him as long as he'd continue to rub against you like this .
He allowed the shredded fabric to stay on your body but your breasts were visible to him now, his cock had gotten so hard that he feared he'd come almost instantly.
"Norns you're beautiful, so beautiful, it's taking everything in me to not claim you as my own" he whispered so you cupped his cheeks,
"I'm all yours i promise..i promise" he kissed you feverishly before he grabbed your hips and aided them to match his own movements,
"You are mine darling and I'll never let you go, never"
"Yessss godd yess stay with me, be with me, all of you..with me, I need it lo, I need it"
Your voice trembled as you spoke, words barely audible but he heard them when you whispered everything in his ears, the day he had met you he felt so strangely connected to you and with time he had only fallen in love with every little thing about you that made you so completely you.
"Lokiii I'm gonna…oh wowww" you moaned his name and he couldn't take his eyes off your face, the dimly lit room made the moment even more perfect. He could see you, touch you, you were half naked underneath him but there was still a sense of mystery.
"I know, i know love, let go, cum with me"
You didn't need anything else, it worked like a charm, a trigger, him asking you to cum in that deep husky breathy voice of his was the only push you needed, the hold of your legs around him tightened and your body convulsed underneath him, if he wasn't holding onto you so fiercely your body would have thrashed uncontrollably, maybe someday he could watch you do just that..
You lifted your hips up and gyrated against him in the wake of your high, that made him combust too and it was glorious in every way, he had sex a million times before but he had never been so pleased like this, it wasn't the orgasm itself but the woman who was pleasing him beyond belief.
He placed his head down on your breasts to calm down, your fingers scratched his scalp gently, both of your bodies felt utterly spent.
After a few minutes he laid down next to you so he wasn't crushing you underneath his weight. You turned towards him and gave him a smile which he returned immediately.
"So now we are friends who kiss sometimes, don't see other people and do Thattttt" he chuckled as you said that
"Princess at this point it's safe to say that we are friends who are also lovers"
"I love being your lover"
"So do I"
You kissed him lovingly before you got off the bed to clean yourself up but he was too relaxed to even move a muscle so he used a charm to take care of the mess he had caused in his pants, when you came back from the bathroom he was in a fresh pair of pants.
You didn't remember much after that because as soon as you got back to the bed, he spooned into you like a baby and it merely took a minute for you two to fall asleep.
He woke you up around five in the morning because he knew Thor would be there to take him back to the tower and he wanted to spend some time with you before he would leave.
You kissed him again and you kissed him in a manner that would keep him obsessing over it for the rest of the day
"Don't fall in love with this healer"
"And if I do?" You mumbled teasingly
"I would just have to murder him I'm afraid"
You giggled at the response. He did enjoy stabbing bad people. You fixed the collar of his shirt and his hair seemed all poofy so you made him sit down at the edge of the bed while you brushed them with a comb.
"You have the softest hair lo..such a pretty baby you are" he giggled at the comment. God you loved him.
You missed him as soon as he was gone and now you had to worry about meeting this guy after work, your mother had given you his phone number so you called him, you didn't understand why he wasn't the one to call you since he was visiting. Just the phone call was enough of an indication that you weren't going to get along with this man. He sounded arrogant
"I'm sorry I'm late" you apologized as you spotted him at the restaurant, your mom had mailed a picture of him to you so it was easier to recognise.
"It's fine I guess, I'm used to such tardiness" he smiled but you could tell he was annoyed, you didn't miss the sarcasm in his tone.
"Ummm okay actually I don't think I got your name yet, my mom told me everything except your name, I'm y/n by the way" you raised your hand forward so he looked at it for a few seconds before he shook it.
"Hello y/n, my name is Doctor Stephen Strange"

Life wasn't the same anymore. Not since Ragnarok happened. Not since Thanos happened. In the blink of an eye, the power-hungry titan had taken everything from you. Everything which meant something to you. Loki. The person you loved most in all the nine realms. But Thanos? Thanos just killed him like it was nothing - and with Loki died a big part of your heart, mind, body and soul, too. You had desperately tried to hold him back, stop him, make him not do what he wanted to do - but of course he didn't listen to you and did it anyway. He had to. You knew that now. You understood - but that didn't ease the pain in the slightest.
Since that day, you felt numb. Nothing more than grief, pain and emptiness running through your system. You lived your life like a robot; running on autopilot. Day in, day out it was always the same. Get up, sometimes have a shower, have breakfast, go to work, get home, eat, try to overcome your loss, go to sleep and repeat. Everybody told you that time heals all wounds. Not for you. The wound was deep. Way too deep to ever be able to heal completely. Life without him was just so difficult. It was a fight every day. His love gave you strength, happiness, vitality, energy and so much more. And suddenly your source of life was gone. Snap. You didn't even have the choice to say goodbye. So many unspoken words, feelings and emotions. Now it was too late.
Tumblr media
"And you are sure you don't want to come?" Natasha asked, giving you a compassionate look. You shook your head. "No, I, uh, I think I'll just go to bed. It's been a long day." The red-haired woman nodded. "Alright. I can't force you to come with us - and I won't." She placed a hand on your arm and gave it a gentle squeeze. "Just know that hiding away in there won't help or make it better either." Nat was right - and you knew it; but you just couldn't bring yourself to join the team's activities and trips. Instead, you flopped down on your bed and stared aimlessly up at the ceiling, like you did so often. Could he see me now? Laying here and thinking about him? Does he think about me, too? What would he say, if he'd see me like this? So many thoughts were running through your mind; penetrating your mind and vanishing a few seconds later again. It was so heavy... Dealing with the difficult cards life had dealt.
Sometime around midnight - the others were still out, clubbing, you decided to head to a bar, unable to find sleep. Maybe a few drinks helped. Wouldn't be the first time that you tried to drown your sorrow and grief in alcohol. So, you slipped in your jacket and some shoes, before you made your way outside, leaving the Avengers compound behind yourself and heading for the next best bar. Unfortunately, your muscle memory worked way too good; body controlled by your heart, resulting in your feet leading you to this one bar... The bar you used to go to with Loki. Of course, you thought with an eyeroll; feeling the familiar pain shooting through your heart - like pierced by an arrow. You wanted to turn around and leave, but you couldn't. So, you stepped through the door of the bar - and that was when it hit you again. Hard. You saw it coming. Of course, you did. But what were you supposed to do? Memories of all the good times spent here with Loki flooded your mind, causing tears to well up in your eyes, which you blinked away quickly. Alcohol. You were here for the alcohol. Not to cry.
Hesitatingly, you sat on one of the bar stools, ordering the strongest drink possible. Only a few people were left, due to the late hour. Soft music played in the background. You didn't pay attention at first, but the more time passed, you couldn't help but listen - only bringing back even more memories. Every song reminded you that Loki was gone; and you felt the lump forming in your throat once again. You sat here alone - and you'd be forever.
Everywhere you looked, you saw him. His handsome face, smiling at you. You saw him, when you looked beside you, where he was seated on the barstool beside you, hand wrapped around his drink. You saw him when you looked across the room to the door, strolling inside the bar, dressed in black slacks and a black shirt with rolled up sleeves. You saw him when your eyes settled on the dance floor, on which you and him spent so many nights, dancing away until dawn.
Taking a big sip of your drink, you closed your eyes, tears free-falling and let the music swallow you whole.
Everything was changing - you knew that. It was a natural thing. A part of being alive. Yes, everything changed. But nothing was the same anymore - except the truth was now that Loki was gone.

I see you hate Sylvie so much and the Loki TV show too. why?
Tumblr media
Okay, lemme break it down into a final, once-and-for-all peace speaking on the issue of the series and Sylvie. I'll try to make this as painless as possible.
1- Looking at it beyond the surface, she's not really interesting. The term 'Mary Sue' gets thrown around a lot with Sylvie, and I kind of have to agree. She seems to be little more than a trope checklist. -Sad background that motivates her actions? Check. -Deep down she just wants to be loved? Check. -Inexplicable instant "chemistry" with the male lead? Check. -She's just so super special and important? Check.
But even so, there have been others with similar Sue-ish backgrounds that the MCU has managed to make into pretty decent characters, like Scarlet Witch in WandaVision. Arguably, both characters share some traits, but the writers of Wanda (at least before Multiverse of Mehhness) clearly knew how to bring those ideas into a twisted story of learning how to confront the past and to mourn with a character who still had something to learn.
In contrast, Sylvie really doesn't have any flaws to turn into a deep character study, does she? I think that's her second-biggest detriment (see below for the biggest). A good character is never perfect. A good character had flaws, wants, drives, and other things that make them imperfect but relatable. Sylvie is incredibly unrelatable.
Truly I believe she was written for the stans as a self-insert. She isn't even a decent one. I read fanfics on here with amazing examples of a good insert character, so it clearly can be done. Again, Sylvie ain't it.
2- Sylvie's existence both mocks the comics as well as Norse mythology as a whole. Most of us anti-sylkis know this already, but in Norse mythology AND the Marvel canon that goes beyond the MCU, Loki has had several lovers and wives. Loki married and had three children with Angreboda, and then went on to have twins with wife Sigyn. In the comics, he also had a lover named Amora the Enchantress (which we ALMOST got in the MCU before her cameo was cut). Any one of these three would've made a fantastic romantic plot for Loki if the MCU *really* had the compulsion to go that route.
Alas, instead, the MCU kind of bastardized Amora, Sigyn, as well as another character from the comics named Sylvie, and combined them into TV!Sylvie. This not only means we will likely never see Amora or Sigyn in the MCU, it means they were replaced by an inferior on the same level as Randy from That 70s Show, who was also a sucky character created for the fans as an amalgamation of pre-existing characters.
3- She's just another in a long line of Loki-abusers. Like, does she ever comfort him after all he does for her? Does she even really listen to him? Because from what I saw there was just a lot of this happening between them:
Tumblr media
Jesus, lady. What has he done to make you such a jerk to him? I get you're supposed to be a #GuuurlBoss but that doesn't mean "be a total cunt to a man whenever you feel like it."
After all this time, if we really had to have a Loki character study series, why doesn't he get some respite from the fact that basically everyone he knows has either been cryptic and mysterious to him at best, and hostile/violent/malicious to him at worst?
THIS is probably the single biggest reason I loathe Sylvie. We're suppose to believe she's just being Miss Independent when she's really just bringing the poor god down even more than most. I feel like if she met Thor, he'd get upset at seeing how she treats him, and he'd be confused by how easily Loki just accepts it all.
4- I'm becoming more convinced Tom's only doing the show out of obligation, and that his creativity is being tossed aside for the sake of the series. I normally don't like to speculate like some others do, but with more people (like Zoe Saldana) coming out and saying they felt repeatedly stifled by the MCU's yuckity-yucks in terms of character development, I definitely believe they're telling Tom to shut up and read the script. I mean, the guy probably knows as much Norse/Loki mythology as any scholar by this time, and he seems to be a really creative person by nature. They're tossing out a whole trove of potential.
I get he's got a family now and he needs to bring in some bacon, but 1- he and his fiancee are both prolific actors who could probably get any roles they wanted. Hell, Zawe's about to enter the MCU herself when The Marvels come out later this year. If she has a larger role in the next few phases, I hope to god they treat her better than they've treated Tom and Zoe and other actors. But I doubt it. 2- he's probably already richer than God
He's almost certainly trapped by contractual obligations at this point, and that fucking sucks, and yes, I blame the tv show for this.
So, in conclusion: this really is a train wreck of a show hidden behind a lot of smoke and mirrors. I'm not sorry to say it. Sylvie lacks any kind of genuine depth, and the writers seem both lost on where to take Loki's character arcs, and not interested.

Denial
Word count: 1,900
Pairing: Loki x reader (platonic)
Reader pronouns: none used (gender neutral)
Warnings: fluff; mostly tickles. Softer Loki (though he tries to hide it)
I know @duckynugget and @crimson25 are looking forward to this one being posted - so, here it is!
This request Prompt asked for a fic where Loki is ticklish but reader is not. I also made the reader gender neutral by request. I kept this one on the shorter side as well, since the next prompt will likely lead to a lengthy story.
Tumblr media
"I'll remind you, mortal - I reserve the right to change my mind about consenting to this at any moment."
"Yeah, yeah. Now sit."
Loki rolled his eyes dramatically, sitting down on the floor in front of you with a huff. You grinned behind his back as you shifted your seat forward a bit on the sofa. After being friends for so long, you knew Loki well enough to understand that his outward annoyance at any sort of physical or verbal affection was all a ruse. As tough as he was on the outside, you knew deep down he secretly enjoyed being cared for.
"Ok - now sit still. I need to concentrate on what I'm doing."
"Have you ever done this before?"
"I already told you - I tried it on Natasha, but she wouldn't sit still for longer than five minutes. Always has to be doing something..." You grasped his shoulders and turned his upper body to sit straighter against the front of the sofa.
"Well - do heed caution. My hair is not to be trifled with," he muttered.
"You Asgardians have such a thing about your hair. It's so funny."
"We simply care about how we present ourselves. Unlike many of you mortals on this planet." Loki twitched in surprise as you began to separate a section of his hair, your finger dragging along the back of his head.
"Hey! I like to think I put an adequate amount of effort into my appearance."
"Well - I wasn't referring to you, obviously."
You smiled. Loki wasn't the most forthcoming with complements, but you knew he had a soft spot for you. He held you on a higher pedestal than he did other humans, though he'd never straight out admit it.
His posture slowly relaxed as you ran your fingers through his hair, meticulously measuring out equal sections of his dark locks before twisting them together into a braid. You were silent as you devoted your full concentration to the task at hand, and Loki seemed content with the lack of conversation.
“Doing alright there, Loki?” you asked after the silence had persisted for a few minutes, leaning forward to see his face. You just caught sight of his eyes closed before he startled, opening them to glare at you.
“Shouldn’t you be focusing on not tying knots in my hair?” he muttered.
“Were you falling asleep? That’s cute.”
Loki opened his mouth to respond, no doubt with some indignant denial of the truth, but you silenced him by running your fingers through his hair. “Hmph,” was all he could seem to muster. You chuckled as you sat back, returning to focusing on weaving braids into his dark locks, taking your time with each twist now that you knew he was enjoying the attention.
After pausing, undoing and restarting the first braid multiple times to really get it right, you were finally nearly finished completing one. Suddenly, Loki flinched, tugging the braid from between your fingers.
“What was that for?? Now I have to start it over again,” you whined as the strands of the braid unwound a bit at the bottom.
“My apologies - you were taking so damned long I thought perhaps you’d finished that one already,” he grumbled in response. There was an unusual finality in his tone, as though he didn’t want you to keep asking about it.
“So you just twist your head and pull it out of my hands? I thought you were concerned about how I was making your hair look. Why risk messing me up?”
“Just… go back and start it over again. I’ll hold still.”
“Hmm. Fine. But this time I’ll tell you when you can move, ok?”
You knew something odd was going on. Loki had previously been melting against the sofa as you manipulated his hair, but suddenly he seemed to have a steel rod in his back, sitting perfectly straight and stiff. Had you hurt him by tugging too hard? That was certainly something he wouldn’t want to admit. Then again, he wouldn’t have passed up the chance to scold you and pretend as though he wasn’t enjoying every second of this. In any case, you were careful not to pull as you re-wove the braid.
As you twisted the last couple inches into place, Loki suddenly flinched once again. This time, he shrugged his shoulder up toward his ear in the process.
And suddenly, it clicked.
“Loki! You messed it up again!” you whined, fluttering your fingertips along the side of his neck more intentionally. He let out a breathy laugh through his nose this time, leaning away from your fingers. “I didn’t know gods were so ticklish!”
“Mortal… I suggest you tread carefully with this information,” he growled ominously, turning his head to look at you.
“Ooh, calling me ‘mortal’ now, are you? I must be in trouble.” You reached around with your other hand to dust your fingers just below his other ear.
“I-hi’m warning you!” He reached up to grasp the wrist of the offending hand, holding it away from his neck. You smirked, swiftly reaching down to pinch his ribs and earning a yelp of surprise. “Alright, that’s it.”
“What are you gonna do?” you sassed. He rose to his feet and spun around in one quick motion, grasping hold of your other wrist and pushing you down against the sofa.
“Still think it was wise to antagonize me?” Loki hovered over you, pinning your wrists to the sofa beside your head. Unfazed, you grinned up at the looming god.
“Go ahead. I’m not ticklish.”
He squinted down at you, leaning closer to your face for dramatic effect.
“I don’t believe you.”
With that, he released both wrists and latched his hands to your sides, kneading rapidly. You stared up at him with the sly smirk still drawn across your face, not reacting in any way to his touch. His brow furrowed as his hands ascended your ribcage, prodding into the crevices, testing every space for a reaction.
“Told you,” you taunted, lacing your fingers behind your head.
“You… I still don’t believe you! You must be ticklish somewhere!”
“Go ahead and try. I won’t stop you.”
His frustration bloomed on his face as he scribbled under your arms, clawed at your belly, grazed his fingertips along your neck… anything he could think of to make you flinch and laugh. You even allowed him to take your foot in his lap and scratch at the fabric of your sock unhindered, sighing tediously as he wriggled his fingers under your toes and dusted them along the arches.
“It’s not possible. I don’t believe you.”
“What more proof do you need?” you laughed, carefully removing your foot from his lap to avoid him thinking it was reflex. “What I don’t believe is how ticklish you are.” You reached out and pinched his side rapidly to emphasize. He barked out a laugh, leaning involuntarily away from you.
“You… you are infuriating!” he griped, making no move to stand from his seat.
“Oh, stop complaining, grumpy. You’re just mad that I finally have something I can hold over you.” You shifted to kneel closer to him, diving in with both hands latched to his ribcage. This really got him laughing, so you couldn’t bear to stop, digging gently in between the bones as he squirmed under your touch.
“M-eheh-MORTAL!”
“Yes?” You gave him an innocent, questioning look as you continued to torment his ribs. His muscles seemed to weaken as you neared the softer space under his arms. He certainly wasn’t fighting you very hard, considering he was an almighty god.
“Dohon’t you DAHARE even c-eheh-CONSIDER moving ahany higher,” he demanded through bright laughter.
“Why not? Too ticklish?” You slotted your hands beneath his arms - a surprisingly simple task considering how concerned he seemed to be about you tickling him there. He threw his head back, overcome by hysterics. Laughing yourself at his reaction, you wriggled your fingers into the soft skin through his shirt without relenting. His hands clasped around your wrists, weakly pushing at them but without nearly enough force to actually succeed in moving your hands. There was a redness blossoming in his cheeks, lighting up his face more than you’d ever seen in the sullen god.
It was then you realized - he didn’t actually mind this. In fact, he seemed to welcome it.
It made sense in a way, you supposed. Deep down, you knew your friend craved physical interaction despite the fact he pretended not to want anyone to so much as touch him. His prickly outer shell prevented him from getting close enough to anyone that they would want to try to initiate physical contact. It just so happened that you had been stubborn enough to stick around long enough to break through his protective shell.
You also knew he’d be mortified if you even suggested that he may be enjoying your tickle attack. So, you filed it away in your memory and kept it to yourself, not wanting to spoil this playful little game between you and your best friend.
As his face turned redder, you shifted to claw into his belly. His laughter decreased in volume, spilling out in uncharacteristic, adorable giggles.
“Now that’s cute,” you cooed, ghosting your fingers along the sides of his belly.
“Hohow dare yohou i-hi-insult me-hee!” he retorted.
“It’s not an insult, it’s just facts!” you teased, spidering your fingers outward to his sides. His laughter died down as you slowed your torment, with only the occasional twitch of his abdomen and accompanying breathy laugh. When you finally ceased, he sat motionless for a moment, gasping to catch his breath.
“I will get revenge for this,” he growled threateningly through his persistent ticklish smile. “Somehow.”
“Good luck with that,” you shrugged, patting him on the knee. “You gonna let me finish practicing my braiding now?”
“After you just tortured me?? You think I will allow you to continue messing with my hair?”
You folded your arms across your chest, sitting back as you gazed firmly at your companion. “Hey - in all fairness, you messed up my braids twice. I was technically getting my revenge by tickling you senseless.”
An unmistakable pink hue tinted his cheeks. “You… I… fine. But be more careful this time.”
“Sure, yeah, yeah. Now sit on the floor again.”
Mumbling incomprehensible threats under his breath, Loki slid off the sofa and took his seat on the floor in front of you once again. You chuckled to yourself, knowing very well that Loki - God of Mischief - never does anything he doesn’t want to do. And the fact that he leaned more heavily against your shins as you began lacing your fingers through his hair once again only served to prove what you already knew.
Someday, perhaps, he would be willing to admit he actually appreciates physical affection. Until then, you’d just have to ‘convince’ him to allow it from time to time, as though he was appeasing you.
And when you snuck in little squeezes to his sides or flutters behind his ears as you continued to braid his hair, he certainly wasn’t trying very hard to stop you.

continued from [x]
It had been a long time since he'd last seen Charles—thousands of years in fact—though he wasn't certain how long it had been for Charles. It was hard to track time in the TVA, and it had only become that much more complex ever since he'd started time slipping. The new loom was failing, no matter what he tried and universes; both old and new were being killed off as a result. It felt like he was doomed to fail no matter what he did, and it was his friends, the people he cared about most who were the ones paying the price.
He knew one way he could stop it from happening, He Who Remains had told him as much. If he killed Sylvie, the 'sacred timeline' would remain intact and stable...but it would mean that the branched timelines were doomed to be destroyed to prevent the multiverse from. It was a loose-loose situation. Loki didn't want to kill Sylvie, he cared for her, they were variants of the same person, but he also didn't want his friends to die and the TVA to be destroyed.
He didn't want to be alone.
He knew he had to make a choice. It was a choice he was reluctant to make because even if it would save his friends and the people he loved, he'd never get to see them again. Loki had already gone back in time to hear Mobius' thoughts on the situation, but there was one more person whose opinion Loki valued that he wanted to see.
Charles always had a unique insight into things. He was highly intelligent (probably rivaling Loki's own intellect), open minded, pragmatic and more importantly, he wasn't afraid of saying what he truly thought, even if it could be perceived as insulting. Loki didn't have that many people like that in his life. "So much has changed since we last saw one another." With a flick of his hand, he summoned his own cup of tea and raised it to his lips. "I imagine if you were to pry you'd be sitting there for days sorting through it all." A small joke, something to ease the tension he felt int he air.
"I know I am prone to....pessimistic thinking. I have faced much disappointment in life, so I come to expect it. Having hope? It can be dangerous." He'd watched his hopes be destroyed over and over in an endless loop for thousands of years whilst trying to get the loom fixed...and even before that, his path in life hadn't exactly been sunshine and roses. "Expect the worse and when it happens it can never surprise you." He took another sip of his tea. "I can't spiral. Too many people are relying on me, too much is at stake to permit such a thing." He let out a heavy sigh and put his tea down. "The people I care for...I am trying to save them but they—" He didn't know how to finish that sentence. He didn't know how to even begin explaining the catastrophe he was facing. "—How do you make an impossible choice?"

What if steve has a sister reader and Shes dating thor and shes a short vers super soildier :3
I hope it's okay I altered this request
Tumblr media
Even though you were Steve's baby sister, you were the one who was always looking out for him
You both had each other's back after your mom died
Not walking away from a fight was a trait you both shared
Bucky looking out for the both of you
And like Bucky, trying your best to convince Steve not to enlist when WWII approaches
You, yourself, decide to volunteer as a nurse's aide to help wounded soldiers
You could've stayed behind to help Steve at the local factory, but you knew your brother
You knew once he put his mind on something, he wouldn't rest until he got what he wanted
Sure enough, he was able to get himself in the Army
You wrote to him and Bucky constantly, wanting to make sure everything was okay
You also kept them up-to-date with your own stuff
You told them about the staff you worked with, the soldiers who actually had the strength to flirt with you as you dressed their wounds
Growing up with Steve and Bucky taught you the best ways to reject them luckily
But then you came across a certain someone who had many of the nurses giggling
He didn't look to be too injured as you saw him on his cot and he greeted you with a booming, accented voice
He was handsome, that you knew
He certainly thought so, judging from the overconfident grin he gave when complimenting you
Imagine his surprise when the only thing you replied with was how he looked well enough to be discharged. Which is good because the hospital was limited on resources
Thor became drawn to you afterwards
He just couldn't believe the way you rejected him
He came to Earth as a bet he made with his friends and a way to entertain himself with a few Midgardian women
Normally he'd be gifted with a slap or drink in the face if his advances weren't welcomed
You didn't even bother to look at him and treated him like anyone else
The nerve!
He noticed the way you tended to the needs of those who actually needed your attention
Your work came first, he realized as he saw what a natural caretaker were
So he went for a different approach
With Loki and Fandral's assistance, he conjured up a background for himself
A charming soldier from London who came from old money who's taking the time to heal before being shipped off once again
He apologizes to you for his forwardness, wanting to make it up to you with drinks at a bar nearby
You wanted to say no right away, but there was just something about him that seemed more sincere than the last interaction
Didn't help that your girl friends kept pushing you to have a night off, especially with this handsome stranger
You were glad you gave in after you had drinks and danced the night away
He was not only handsome, but also funny and surprisingly a gentleman
You talked until the early hours of the morning, bonding over your backgrounds
Specifically how you both do what you can for your brothers
You couldn't get enough of talking to him
Which is why a part of you was actually a little sad when he told you he had to leave so he can prepare to be shipped off
You asked him if he'll write to you
He promised you he would, almost looking as sad as you while doing so
That was the last you ever heard of him
Thor, meanwhile, found out about you again through Steve in 2012
Steve told him about how his sister knew a Thor Odinson in '42
Thor was confused about it until Steve revealed your name
He asked about you then, wanting to know how you've been
According to Steve, you actually met the man who would be your husband at the hospital you volunteered at
You ended up having two kids
You passed away about a decade ago, leaving them behind along with your many grandkids
Thor always regretted not going back to see you
He's at least happy you got to have a good life
Perhaps he should ask Steve to tag along the next time the Super Soldier goes to see your family

A Mother's Comfort
@lokijiro prompted "Baby Loki has a tendency to take more milk than he needs, which makes him throw up sometimes.
Frigga can’t help but wonder if this is a consequence of the days he spent in hunger. Also on AO3
After the first day, Frigga had a better idea of how much milk he could take at a time and had the kitchens send bottles with less milk to start with. It seemed to be a good amount, as Loki didn't cry for more when he'd finished his bottle, but he did still keep sucking at the rubber teat, and Frigga remembered that as a baby, Thor would keep sucking until she either unlatched him or he fell asleep at her breast, finding comfort in the action. And Thor, she thought darkly, had not been left alone to starve to death in the elements; who knew how long it would be before Loki forgot that experience? Who knew how long he had lain there, his cries unheard, before Odin had found him? Her little war child deserved all of the comfort that she could offer him. And though he seemed content enough...
She slipped a finger into the corner of Loki's mouth and broke the suction, pulling the bottle's teat out of his mouth. "Here, let me take that. No, shh, you can have it back if you want, but let's see if I can give you something better than an empty bottle." Loki made his displeasure known as she briefly set him back down in his basket but she made quick work of the laces on the front of her gown, glad she was wearing this style. As well as the herbal tea that she had started drinking to bring in her milk, Eir had given her an oil-based infusion to massage into her breasts as well, as often as convenient through the day, and that meant gowns that hooked or laced up the back and needed help to remove were no longer practical. She had just started wearing them again, too, having finally fully weaned Thor less than two months before Loki's arrival. Even when he'd stopped needing her for food, her usually rambunctious toddler had been reluctant to give up his naptime feeding, still wanting that closeness and cuddling when he was sleepy. And now she had a new hungry chick to feed. Ah well, those gowns would still be there when this one was grown into a strong and sturdy little boy like his brother was now, but she would only have this one chance of developing that kind of close bond that formed between a nursing mother and her child.
"I've no milk for you yet," she told Loki, settling him comfortably in the crook of her arm, her arm supported by the pillow in her lap. "But if you don't mind sucking on a dry breast, it'll help bring it in all the sooner." And it would help prevent him from getting so used to the bottle that he had trouble switching to feeding at her breasts when the time came. She wondered if she would need to place a few drops of milk or honey on her nipple to entice him into latching on, but it wasn't necessary. As soon as she guided his mouth to her breast his lips parted automatically and a moment later he had latched on securely and was once again sucking contentedly, seeming unconcerned when he didn't get the reward of milk for his efforts.
"Oh, that's it," Frigga crooned, her heart rejoicing that she could give this to him, at least she could offer him this comfort. "You're going to be a good nurser, aren't you?" She huffed out a laugh. "You know, if you had only come a little sooner, I would still have had milk for you." But nay, she thought, if he had been born sooner, perhaps Odin would not have been there to find him in time. She shivered at the thought of there having only been a dead body to find where a live child had been. It made her more certain than ever that the Norns had had a hand in this, that Loki had been meant to be her child, hers and Odin's. "Well, never mind," she told Loki softly. "Perhaps the milk will come back in more easily for having so recently stopped. And I suppose it was nice to have a little break, however short." It felt good, his sucking, and she felt herself slipping into that calm, quiet place where it was just herself and the child in her arms, inextricably linked. And it would feel even better when her breasts were heavy with milk, she knew, still able to clearly remember the rush of milk letting down in response to a child's demands and the relief as the pressure from a full breast eased. She nuzzled her new son's head, breathing in the sweet baby scent of him. "That's my good boy," she said softly. "I've got you. My new sweet son. I promise you'll not go hungry again nor have your cries go unanswered as long as I an here to come to you." She traced the curve of his soft cheek, his blue eyes open and fixed upon her. "You're safe now, you're home."

A/N: I don’t know if it’s the weather or what, but I’m doing pretty good these days. I’m steadily working away at Second Sight here, and I’ve had plot bunnies popping up all over. I’m just putting post-its on their heads for now because I am committed to completing this story. It’s so annoying that knowing what happens next doesn’t mean anything if I don’t get the words down to explain it to anyone else. Can you guys believe they don’t simply appear without any effort on my part? Insulting.

Second Sight Part Seventeen
Your heart already beating fast in anticipation, you opened the front door to your apartment to the sound of Loki cackling in dark triumph. The sight of him there on your couch was incongruous, the head to toe black and green leather contrasting sharply with the mundanity of an IKEA love seat. Though you were exceedingly excited to finally be accompanying Loki into the more dangerous parts of the galaxy, you couldn’t help but worry that you might appear equally mundane amongst the sights that suited him better.
Not that you could dwell on the idea when his eyes snapped to you and heated with desire. He'd been absent for a few days while he arranged this trip to some new planet whose name you'd forgotten, if he’d ever bothered to tell you, but whose delights Loki had already promised would be beyond your wildest dreams. He had only given you hints of the hedonistic pleasures you had waiting for you, but you knew he was plotting to astound you. Your already racing heart seemed to leap in your chest when he stood quickly and crossed to you in a burst of enthusiasm.
"What are you laughing at?" A smile was tugging at the corner of your mouth as you hung your purse on the hook by the door and dropped your keys in the little bowl on the table underneath it. You couldn't help it; he was at his most light-hearted and carefree when he laughed with such wild enjoyment. You knew he was also at his most dangerous, but you thought it was likely this side of him that had made you fall in love in the first place.
Loki's eyes were sparkling and his grin flashing wickedly as he wrapped his arms around your waist. His mouth found yours and took you into a long, slow, sweet kiss. Ever since he'd come back into your life, he'd greeted you like this after any absence longer than a few hours. Never the sort to fawn, he still made you feel like the most loved and desired woman in the universe when he kissed you as though relieved to see you again, every time he saw you again.
Your lips were parted in surprise when his met them and the taste of him had your eyes fluttering closed as you let him fold you close. You wrapped your arms around his neck and hummed in pleasure as you leaned into his chest.
"Finally," he said when he released your lips. "I thought you'd never get here." He was tempted, as he always was, to drag you back into the space between moments where he could make love to you at his leisure. If he hadn’t already made plans to drown you in sensation on a pleasure planet, he would have given in.
"I missed you, too," you replied drily before drawing his mouth back to yours to kiss him again, adoring him. You could practically feel him vibrating in excitement, the energy of his exuberant mood passing from his lips to yours. You pulled away to laugh. "I take it you're ready to go."
"I am," Loki grinned back at you, his eyes shining with glee as he glanced back at the television, "though I was unusually entertained by Midgard today." After snooping through your things, trying to occupy himself while he waited for you to get home, he'd turned on the TV. He'd been absently flipping channels when he'd come upon a broadcast of a conflict happening on the other side of your world. He'd stopped because he recognized the combatants.
"Ooh, do tell." You rested your head on his shoulder as you fluttered your lashes at him and spoke in a tone acidly sweet. "I love it when you get condescending about my homeworld."
Loki laughed and took your hand to pull you toward the hallway and the portal behind the linen closet door. You pulled back to lock the front door. Since you’d be traveling the cosmos, not lingering in between time and space as you usually did, you wanted to secure the place before you left.
"You know how much I enjoy setting my enemies against one another." Loki let you step away to turn off the lights he’d left on in the kitchen and turned back to the news broadcast still playing softly in the background.
"You've told me. Many times." You lifted your eyes briefly to the heavens in an affectionately resigned kind of way as you flipped the switch and turned back to where Loki was smiling malevolently at the screen.
"I enjoy it almost as much when they start tearing at each other with no assistance from me." He lifted his head to grin at you, his face bright with vicious cheer. There were moments when you remembered he wasn't simply the dangerously pretty prince from another world who'd set your personal world on its head. He was also the villain of the piece, a wicked creature with terrifying appetites.
Why it took everything you had to drag your eyes from his cruel pleasure to look at the television you'd never be able to explain. You knew that you should find this side of him frightening, that the darkness that lurked beneath the charm and swagger should give you pause, but instead you found yourself wanting to make love to him, to balance on the edge of chaos with a creature that could tear you and everything you loved to shreds. That he possessed not only the power but the capacity to do terrible things, but you trusted him to never do them to you, made loving him like an extreme sport.
Your heart raced harder the more evil he looked. You weren't proud of it, but you wouldn't lie to yourself.
Distracted by the sultry warmth pooling in your lower body at the thought of all the wicked things he'd do to you if you asked him, it took you a moment to realize you were watching the various members of the Avengers destroy an airport tarmac in a fight with one another. "Shit," you said, your eyes widening in surprise when what you were looking at truly sank in. "There were rumors Captain America was refusing to sign the Sokovia Accords, but this is nuts."
Feeling like the conflict playing out on the screen was an auspicious omen for tonight's mischief, he pulled you away from the screen, stopping only when you resisted long enough to grab the remote and turn off the TV. "This was inevitable," he gloated, already pleased with his luck and the evening debauchery hadn't even begun. He considered not even cheating when he took you to the gaming tables, his mood was already so high. "I'm simply pleased with my fortune that I was here to witness it."
"You are so unbelievably petty." You shook your head at him as you passed the linen closet to go into your bedroom. He'd turned on the lights in every room of the apartment. "I can't believe you're still holding a grudge. You tried to take over the Earth; they stopped you." Once you'd turned the light out in your bathroom, you stopped only to reach into the bedroom and flip that light off as well. "Let it go."
"How dare they defy my will?" he retorted with a mock glare that did a terrible job of covering his amusement. He tugged you into his arms in the doorway of your bedroom, the sight of the bed giving him thoughts. Temptation was something he was always terrible at resisting, and you were especially tempting when you were teasing him.
"You know how humans are," you retorted with a challenging grin that took Loki's breath. He wondered at the bottomless depths he found in your eyes even as his heart skipped in joy at the sight of fun and mischief sparkling on your face. You lifted your face for his kiss, sighing out a laugh.
"I adore you." He said the words right before he took your mouth in another long, warm kiss. Before he could give in to temptation and lose himself in your warm body, the soft love that cloaked you when he took you in his arms, he took a step back. He kept hold of your hand, however, unwilling to be parted from you. "Come, I long to drown in your eyes in the light of a turquoise sunset."
"That is oddly specific."
Loki pulled you into motion once again, pulling you back toward the portal to his palace where the rest of the preparations for the evening were waiting. "You'll understand soon, once we've left your deary world behind. I'm impatient to show my dark bride all the wonders she deserves."
He grinned, malice sparkling over his face as he drew you to a halt at the open closet door, turning with you at his side. In a practiced move, the two of you stepped through the portal in unison, the many, many times you'd escaped together into his palace creating muscle memory. Once on the other side, you resisted the urge to drag him off to bed, pushed to the edge by the sinister cast to his features. At the heart of it all, you were in love with a criminal. You knew you should worry that you didn't care.
You kept your hands to yourself, at least for the moment, well aware that Loki planned for this first trip to be one of wild delights. You would be shocked if you didn't end the evening well-loved into a deep and comfortable sleep if not fully fucked into a boneless heap.
"Stop talking shit about my planet. You're the one who invaded." You teased him as you walked into the bedroom and began to strip. You needed to change into clothing that wouldn't draw attention at your destination. "You could be a little less condescending about something you obviously covet." Standing in nothing but your bra and underwear, you sneered at him before grabbing the outfit you'd already selected and left draped across the bed when you'd last passed through in preparation for tonight.
Loki watched you shimmy into the emerald green dress with eyes that burned despite the malicious good-humor that animated him. The only thing stopping him from tumbling you back onto the bed and satiating all of this jittery energy was the knowledge that he would have plenty of time to make love to you later, after he'd dazzled all your other senses first. He stayed where he was, leaning in the doorway while he waited for you to finish getting ready.
"Do you have everything?" He asked the question as you walked to the mirror hanging on the wall next to the door where he stood and straightened the dress until it sat properly around your chest and hips. The dress was made of a stretchy yet plush fabric that molded to your body comfortably and with a flattering skim over your curves, somehow without clinging to you. The fabric was something you'd never seen before, something like silk, but also like Lycra with hints of velour, and yet not quite like any of those. Whatever it was, it fit you easily and flattered your body in a way that left you feeling both sexy and secure.
The sleeves were long, but they belled out satisfyingly at the cuffs, where a stripe of deep raven black about an inch wide contrasted with the gem tone of the rest of the dress. The same strip of color accented the boat neck collar and the asymmetrical hem. The pendant Loki had gone to such trouble to replace rested between your breasts and shone with rich beauty. You couldn't be certain about anything when stepping into the wider universe at Loki's side. But by the heat in his eyes and the glow of appreciation in his smile, you could be confident in doing so.
You'd spent some time manipulating the spell on your closet by actively wishing for some bike shorts that would cover your ass in the likely event that you and Loki would need to make a speedy getaway, but also melt away in the likely event that the evening's delights proved too much and Loki made love to you half-clothed in a semi-private place. It wouldn’t be the first time for either.
To your delight, your closet had come through and the shorts under your dress were silky smooth and fastened closed with snaps at the hip, something easily removed if necessary. You needed the little extra protection as the skirt was asymmetrical, long in back, nearly sweeping the floor but cut off above your knees in the front.
To go with the emerald dress, you stepped into soft, over-the-knee leather boots in coal that matched the stripes of color at your cuffs and collar. Only the glint of silver buckles marching up the outside of each broke up the velvety black. You'd opted for the boots because they worked perfectly with the hemline of your dress, but also because they too would come in handy in a 'run for it' moment. You knew Loki too well to assume everything would go to plan.
"You've got your necklace, I see," Loki continued to nag you, despite your serene façade in the face of his fretting. "But what about your ring? Your bracelet and your knife?" Though he'd seen you grab everything, he wanted to instill in you the habit of checking for each of the items you'd need to walk safely through the wider universe.
"Oh my god!" You rolled your eyes and laughed as you turned toward him, showing him the knife strapped to your thigh with the hands wearing your ring and your bracelet. Unconcerned about the rest of your appearance beyond what you'd already done as only Loki would see your true face, you held out your hand with a taunting smile to go with your retort. "Yes, mom, I have everything. Can we go before you make me put on a coat because it's cold out in space?"
With a sharp tug, you were in his arms and his mouth was taking yours in a warm, happy kiss, his bright mood beaming out of him. The moment had taken him, his three best loves, revenge, mischief, and you, coming together in a dark thrill. A long kiss later, he lifted his head and looked at you, his face soft. His eyes sparkling with affection, the mischievous chuckles that had bubbled in your throat during the kiss forced him to clamp down on his baser urges, the bed behind you still painfully tempting. But he knew that if he took you to bed now, the two of you wouldn't be leaving again any time soon.
He'd waited more than long enough to take you on a real adventure. Instead of backing you into the bedroom, he stepped back, lifting your hand to his lips as he led you back into the study toward the portal he'd already set for this evening's entertainment. At the feeling of your hand trembling ever so slightly in his, he pulled you close and murmured smugly. "I don't think a coat is necessary." With an arrogant grin and a wave of his hand, a portal to a vista the likes of which you'd never seen opened in the far wall. "I do not doubt my ability to keep you warm."
Tumblr media
You were having a difficult time believing your eyes. The journey began when you stepped out of the portal in a cliff face on a beach the likes of which you'd never seen. The sand was a soft peach, as fine as sugar. The waves gently lapping at that technicolor shore were equally vibrant, a wild violet that took your breath. The lavender foam that fizzed at your feet made you want to reach out to see if it felt like water from your world. Overhead, puffy pale pink clouds floated across orange skies fading to teal at the horizon.
You stood on those soft sands, the crash of those vivid waves echoing oddly in your ears, and stared out at the stunning view. Your heart was pounding so hard you felt like you'd lost your breath and only the feel of Loki taking your hand in his could begin to break through the trance you'd fallen into. You glanced to your right and caught your breath at the sight of his profile under the soft warm light.
Something about the diffuse light of a pair of far-off suns coming through those pink clouds hit his face differently, made him look younger. You wondered if this was what he'd looked like before he'd discovered the truth about himself and his world turned upside down. When he turned and looked at you, a sweet smile on his face, you fell in love with him all over again.
Loki started to walk along the water, pulling you into step next to him with the hand he had wrapped around yours. You were caught in the myriad sensory experiences bombarding you, like listening to the odd sound of the waves as they pounded the shore. The inside of your nose wrinkled at the scent of strange seas, your eyes dizzied by the eccentric swoops of winged creatures crying overhead as they flew across the sky. Even the air rested on your skin in a peculiar way, as though the atmosphere was heavier, or the gravity of the world wasn’t quite the same as you were used to.
"What do you think, love?" Loki was deeply gratified to see you greedily drinking in everything around you. Your eyes were wide, your breathing fast, your hand holding tightly to his, and the knowledge that he had once again dazzled those bottomless eyes satisfied him in a way little ever had.
You tore your eyes from the gradation of peach skies growing steadily darker as the horizon grew more and more blue as the suns fell toward the sea. You did not understand how such colors were possible, but you also could not deny the sight was breathtaking. The perfection of Loki's features was only highlighted by the soft light coming from those spectacular skies and you couldn't be certain he wasn't even more magnificent than the natural beauty surrounding you.
"I knew you were going to show me something beautiful," you breathed, pulling him to a halt with your hand in his to look him full in the face. "I didn't know it would be you." You let go of his hand to slide your arms around his neck and pull him close for a slow, warm kiss. For a moment, you remembered your life before you'd met him, and the juxtaposition between your life then and now made you a little dizzy.
Loki's eyes had closed when your lips met his, the joy of the feeling making him feel younger than he had since before an ill-fated trip to Jotunheim. So much had happened since that horrible day, so much he'd come to regret over the years, but finding you was a rare bright moment in that time. Being able to share the wider universe with you brought him unmatched joy. Caught in your eyes, he smiled at you with all the wonder you inspired.
"The eyes of the Fey." He hadn't intended to say the words aloud, but they came out of his mouth in a murmur as he marveled at the reflection of those glorious skies in the bottomless pools of your eyes. Under that soft and shimmering light, he could see even more clearly how extraordinary you were, was amazed that he could have ever overlooked you. He didn't know if you had changed, or if you had changed him, not that it mattered in the end.
Loki had been studying but had found no evidence that the Folk had made it back to Midgard in the last few thousand years. Wherever your endless eyes came from, they were too powerful and potent to come from so far back in your ancestry. In addition, even if you could trace your lineage to the Folk, it would not explain all your oddities. Your immunity to his magic was consistent with what he could discover about them, but not your ability to see its symbols and sigils.
"I'm sorry?" A frown line appeared between your brows, confused by the softly spoken words.
Loki didn’t resist the urge to kiss away the small line, not wanting even the hint of distress to cross your face on this evening. He hadn't told you of his conversation with the merchant on Alfheim, keeping his own counsel a long-established habit. As he'd already started the conversation, however, no matter how inadvertent, he wouldn't lie to you now. "Something Audra said when I exchanged your necklace." The eyes in question narrowed on his face, noting the amount of time you'd spent together since he'd brought back the replacement necklace, annoyed that this was the first you were hearing of it. "About the Fair Folk."
"Fair Folk." The words had your head tilting to the side, your annoyance forgotten in the curiosity stoked by his answers. You were fascinated, both by the information and the fact that you weren't having to pry it out of him for once. "Like… fairies? Tinker Bell?"
"No," Loki threw his head back and laughed, then turned and began walking up the beach towards the lights of a dense and vibrant city, "like The Morrigan.” He had a careful itinerary in mind, designed to ease you into the exotic and exciting. He wanted to give you the night of your life, delirious in the moment, like a man on his honeymoon.
"Isn't that a Celtic goddess?” You would be only mildly surprised to find that yet another set of gods was based on real beings. Based on the strange cults that cropped up from time to time, it hadn't seemed to you that humans needed even a grain of truth to create a god to worship, but the facts didn’t lie. Perhaps the ones that stood the test of time, the ones whose names were remembered despite the centuries, were more likely to be real.
"I don't know." Loki's brow furrowed as he considered the likelihood that stories about the Folk might have made their way through the centuries in modified form as his own peoples' visits to Earth had shaped northern European mythology. "Did Midgardians worship them as gods also?" He thought perhaps he should pull some works from Midgardian authors, to compare the mythology to the histories already in his library.
"I guess?" You weren't certain you understood what Loki was saying, let alone what he was asking. It sounded like another Earth mythology had a grain of truth in advanced alien visitors, but you weren't well enough versed in any of the subjects at hand to be sure. In any case, you were fully distracted by the way the sky faded from dark peach at the zenith of the sky to the pale pink of the clouds hanging in the sky to the turquoise horizon where a pair of suns dipped lower and lower. "I don't know. What are we talking about?"
Loki slanted you an indulgent look when the two of you reached the path at the top of the beach and you glanced back, the sunset over the lavender ocean once again catching and holding you, pulling you to a stop as the sight filled your vision. He stopped with you, letting you look your fill of the strange sunset. The two of you stood in silent contemplation as you watched the suns slowly sink down until all that was left was a deep blue shimmer under the pinpointed black of a night sky. You turned your eyes back to the lights of the city and the two of you began walking towards them once more.
"The Folk are a powerful and ancient race," Loki continued speaking as though there had been no break in the conversation, and it took you a moment to get your train of thought back on track, "that have not been seen in many centuries, since before I was born. They are the only people the merchant could think of with a weakness to metals from Nidavellir."
Now that the suns had set, the sparkling, shimmering, shifting lights of the city beckoned cheerfully. You were fascinated by the subject at hand, but the sensory overload made it difficult to concentrate on what Loki was telling you. "Why do they have a weakness?"
Loki sneered. He hated to admit it but, "I don't know. Because no one has seen them in centuries, I'd never thought of them. I only recently started my research."
You did some quick mental math, realizing that Loki had had ample time since his visit to Alfheim to give you this information. He had clearly chosen not to, for reasons only he would understand. "But you're just now getting around to telling me?"
"Darling," the indulgent exasperation that colored the endearment made your lips twitch, "why would you not simply be grateful that I told you at all?"
The two of you had gotten close to one of the brightly colored buildings lining the street ahead of you, the eclectic crowd of people moving in and out, threatening to swallow the two of you into their ranks. "Because achieving the bare minimum doesn't merit gratitude?" Your retort came absently, the ornate doors in front of you occupying your attention when you realized they were where Loki was guiding you.
"Not even a little bit?" He laughed, already gratified by the look of wonder on your face as he pulled you into a casino very like and yet nothing like those on Earth. Behind the sprawling gold and brightly lit doors were games that had the same goal as those in Midgard casinos, taking your money, but the games themselves were far more honest and far more violent. He wondered what new expressions he'd see reflected in your bottomless eyes. "That doesn't sound right at all."

Mira’s POV
"Don't look at me like that," he growled, pacing back and forth in front of my bed, "I know what you're thinking."
'I didn't say anything.'
"You don't have to," he hissed. He stopped and looked at me, "I don't know what to do. As soon as she started to reach for me I-"
'I don't want to know what freaky stuff you and Jade did, Loki.  Her craziness is beyond me.'
"That's just it, I couldn't do anything," he admitted. I cocked a brow at him, and he nodded, "I joked about it, but then she started trying to undress me again and I just bolted...I ran away from her, like some scared little boy."
'And you came here? To me?'
"Oh don't act so surprised," he muttered, "I know I gave you the power so that you wouldn't have to struggle communicating, but I know that you can see certain things about my life...you can see into my own mind just as much as I can see into yours...there is a kinship here and you cannot deny it, Lady Mira."
I shrugged, unsure of how to describe what it was that Loki had been talking about.
Yes, ever since he had helped me, I was able to read people a bit easier. Honestly, they didn't even have to really talk to me. If an emotion was strong enough, I saw it.
Like when Bucky told me about Kenzie.
It wasn't some simple kiss like he'd told me. I could feel the hunger that he had pushed deep down. I could feel the need.  I could see that there was a piece of him that wanted her, whether it was through mutual understanding, or genuine passion.  He’d tried to push it away, but he felt a stronger connection with her than he ever felt with me.
I wasn't what he was looking for.
They could connect in ways that he and I would never be able to.  And I saw that.
I'd just let myself believe as much because I'd been here so long. He'd started being kind to me, and I guess in a way it was kind of like Stockholm Syndrome. I begun to sympathize with him.
But that's also why when he told me I told him that I wanted to go stay in the basement with the rest of the girls.
The guilt in his eyes.
The anger that I wanted to leave.
I knew he saw me as an enemy then.  As just another person that wanted to leave him because he wasn't enough.  But that wasn't it.  I tried to explain that, but he didn't want to hear any of it.  He went into a rage.
When he started yelling about it, the guys intervened. They came to the room, and I clung to Loki, like some small child. He saw the argument between me and Bucky. He saw how Bucky and Kenzie had kissed. He knew that while I was conflicted, I needed to distance myself.
And he understood.
That night he'd helped me take my things to the basement and get set up in one of the rooms. And ever since then, no matter where he was on the rotation he came and visited me every day.  He was practically the only person I allowed to stay in my room for more than a minute.  But he was someone I could talk to.  He was right.
Even in his Jotun form.
Which was something he wasn't proud of.  But when he realized that I wasn't afraid of it, he started getting more bold about it.  He allowed the guys to see him in his Jotun form.  But he was conflicted about Jade.
We'd talked about that too.
How he didn't want Jade to see him like that.
He thought he was a disgusting monster on the inside and out and the Jotun form only enhanced it.  But I was glad that Jade had managed to let him see that she didn't think he was.
"Mira."
I looked up at him, 'yes Loki?'
"Why do I feel this way around her?"
I smiled and released a small laugh, 'do you mean why are you such a big baby?'
He glared at me for a second before looking back at his hands. Fiddling with them he concentrated a small amount of magic and began tossing it around as if it were a ball, "why does she do this to me? How can she reduce me so much so that I cannot even function as myself?"
'You're nervous,' I smiled. He looked at me, stopping the movement with the ball and I repeated it, 'you. Are. Nervous. You like her Loki.'
"Well I like you," he said in a simple tone, "and I'm not the same way with you that I am with her."
I rolled my eyes at him and fell back against the bed, 'it's not the same and you know it.  You like her in the way a grown man likes a grown woman and wants to take her to bed.’
"But I can't trust that," he said with a shake of his head, "I cannot fall into that kind of trust. You should know what it is like. How you trusted the captain and sergeant Barnes, and now you are here in a basement."
I looked down at the ground.  The images from feeling safe with Steve and him falling asleep in my bed to the date with Bucky replayed in my mind.  And before I could stop it, I felt a tear sliding down my cheek.
"I-I didn't mean it like that," he stuttered, realizing what he'd said, "Mira I-"
'You're not wrong, so don't apologize,' I sighed, wiping the tears from my face, 'I did trust Steve and Bucky. Steve turned into a bigger monster than him, and yet he made me feel so safe...and Bucky kissed Kenzie.'
"And he broke your jaw."
I looked up at him, unamused.
"Right," he nodded, "well that is my exact point. People let you down. We can't trust them, Lady Mira.  So how are you still so optimistic about it all? "
'Loki, just because someone's let you down before doesn't mean you lose trust in everyone.'
"Well of course you still have faith," he chuckled, patting my leg, "no matter what happens here, you'll get to live. Not the same can be said for your friends."
My eyes went wide as I looked at him. I had forgotten what I'd been told about 'the end of this session.'
'Loki?'
"What is it?"
'If I ask you to help me, will you?'
He rose his brow at me, "what mischief are you thinking of, pet?"
'Not mischief,' I thought slowly, 'but I was told that at the end of this 'session' that girls who don't get picked, get killed. Is that true?'
"Yes," he nodded, "One of the many rules of the lake house."
'Loki you have to help me convince the guys to choose Dani, Cassie, and Kenzie. There's four of them and four of you. You've already chosen Jade.'
"I did not choose-"
'Shut up,' I said, rolling my eyes and cutting him off, 'everyone knows you like her. If the session was cut short today, you would take her with you.'
"So," he said defensively, "I...enjoy her company."
'I need you to help me make the guys choose my friends,' I pleaded, 'all of you have already reminded me...I'm off the board. If we can push Bucky to Kenzie....and Steve and Thor to Dani and Cassie all of my friends would live, right?'
"Pet, you are forgetting one thing," he chuckled, "you cannot force them to choose your friends. They choose based on how well the girls follow the rules. How receptive they are to them. My brother has an affinity for choosing women who breathe. That's his only requirement. The captain is far more choosy. He's already been up here for two sessions before they took you."
'Loki.'
"I can't force them to do anything," he replied with a shake of his head, "I don't know how you think this will force them to choose your friends. If they decide to call this a bust, they could kill all of your friends tomorrow, and there's nothing I can do to stop them. The only one I can protect is Jade."
'Well, promise me that at the very least you will protect her...if it comes down to it?'
"Of course I would,” he replied as though it were the most obvious thing in the world, “I would never let any harm befall her.  And I would gut anyone that tried.”

Kenzie’s POV
"B-bucky?"
He closed the door to my room and sat next to me on my bed. I put my book down. "Hey."
"A-are you okay?"
He nodded and continued to look straight at the wall, "yeah."
"Are you sure?"
"I don't know what to do," he said, shaking his head, "she just...she won't even let me see her."
"Mira." I nodded, feeling guilty over what had happened between Bucky and I.  I felt a pang in my chest as I felt no better than Cassie, when she took Jack from Mira.
"Yeah," he agreed, "She's treating me like I'm worse than Steve."
"Trust me, no one is worse than him," I hissed, snarling at the mention of his name. I put my book on the nightstand and sat forward so that we were right next to one another, "she's mad that I kissed you...isn't she?"
He nodded, "she's down here now. Only really lets Loki talk to her anymore.  I tried when I dropped off her food this morning, but she wouldn't even look at me.  She made me leave after I dropped it off…wouldn’t let me talk to her."
"She is?" I asked, feeling my features show my surprise, "wait, she's actually down here?  And she's really alive."
"Yeah," he nodded, "why is it such a surprise that she's actually alive?"
"I-I want to see her."
"I don't think that's such a good idea, doll."
"Please?"
"She's in the gym. With Steve."
"She's letting him near her?"
"Yeah," he replied solemnly. He put his hands on his knees and ran his vibranium hand through his hair, "it's fucking with my head...I mean I could stand it if she only let Loki around her...but now she's back to letting him near her too?"
"You said she isn't talking to him though."
"She isn't," he groaned, "but she's around him and that's enough."
"I'm sorry Bucky," I sighed, "I know what that's like."
"What?" he asked, "Your relationship being ruined by both of your best friends?"
I felt a pang in my stomach as he referred to the situation like that, "that's not fair."
I watched as his nostrils flared, "you know what she told me when I explained myself? She said that he wasn't meant to be with me. That she was just something that helped my guilt go away. Just another person I had to make amends with."
"I'm sorry."
"And fuck, maybe it's just me going soft after all these years," he sighed, hands finally going to grab his own head, "maybe it's the feelings I developed for her and she's wrong...but I know what this loneliness is doing to me...and I don't know how much longer I can stand it. No one to talk to. No one that will listen to me."
"I'm listening to you."
"But you have to," he replied, pointing around the room, "you can't go anywhere."
Instinctually, I found myself touching my scar along my throat and his gaze shifted away from me.
"I could have tried again, you know," I muttered, "when Steve cleaned up my room...he didn't clean everything up. I found glass behind the sink. I could have gone through with it and had no one stop me."
His eyes snapped up to mine, "what?"
I reached across to where my nightstand was and opened the drawer. Reaching inside I grabbed the mirror shard and put it on his lap. His gaze continued to look from me to the piece of mirror, completely horrified.
"I know what that loneliness is like, Bucky. It's like a tidal wave that pulls you under, and then when you feel like you can breathe and you've finally hit the surface, another under current rips through just below, dragging you back under. I felt that way ever since I was little."
"Why?"
"I love my sister," I said slowly, "but sometimes being a twin has it's disadvantages. People always compare you. If Dani got an A people would ask ‘why did you get a B?’ If Dani is captain of the squad, why didn't you make captain too? It's a different kind of loneliness, one that puts a chip on your shoulder. I don't know your relationship with Steve...at least only what has been put out into the media, but I feel like it's a lot like the one Dani and I share. Both of you were super soldiers. Steve was the golden boy. You were put through mind-numbing techniques that took away who you were until there was almost nothing left. When Steve raped me, it did something to me, Bucky. It was a literal translation of everything in my life. I bent over and took it. I went through my life pretending I was okay with everything. Had to be perfect. Had to act a certain way to make up for not being good enough. For not being Dani.  When I cut my throat a few days ago...I felt something. I felt the pain. I felt the heartache. I let myself feel everything that I shoved deep down inside myself so that others would feel comfortable..."
"Kenzie..."
I looked up into his eyes and his normally stormy eyes were lighter. They seemed almost silver from the tears that had glazed themselves over them. I felt my own tears holding themselves at bay as I tried to read what it was that he was trying to say.
But words seemed to fail the both of us. It was no secret that he'd felt differently about Steve then the media portrayed them. I'd seen it up close as they glared at one another going down halls or when it was time for them to switch places.  Maybe it was Mira. Or maybe he felt like he was the lesser sibling.
Two soldiers. One golden boy who the country loved. One assassin who was disposed of until they needed someone to handle the dirty work. Yet both were expected to act as picture perfect idols.
"You shouldn't ever have to feel like that."
"Neither should you," I whispered, looking to the ground, "but yet, here we both are. Locked in gilded cages."
As he shifted, the shard of glass clattered to the floor, already forgotten in the moment of silent confessions. His hand brushed my cheek and I leaned into it, needing to feel close because it was my choice.
I mirrored his actions, lightly grabbing at the hair at the nape of his neck.
He gasped.
His vibranium hand landed on my waist, and he angled my body more towards his own. Our lips were barely touching. His breath hot on my lips, spreading to my cheeks, "I want to kiss you."
"Are you okay with that?" I asked. His eyes flickered from my lips, back to my own eyes. I gasped as I noticed all the different shades of blue hidden in them. He nodded, closing the space until our lips touched. I felt my eyes close as my lips parted, allowing him all the access to myself that he could want.

Dani’s POV
"Alright," Steve said drunkenly. He slapped Cassie on the ass, and she giggled as they made their way back to my side of the laundry room, "I don't think I should keep you much longer than that."
She stood beside me and waved cutely at him as he tried to make it appear that he wasn't completely wasted as he left.
"That's disgusting," I groaned after he closed the door, "I can't believe you, Cassie."
"What?" she asked, "I'm playing the game, Dani. Maybe if you did then the guys would be nicer to you."
"I'm not playing nice with some gross rapists and abductors."
"Well, if you don't then they'll kill you."
"You don't have any proof of that," I growled, dropping the folded basket of clothes to the floor beside me as I picked up the next one, "stop saying that."
"Steve told me that yesterday," she smirked, "if they don't pick you by the time they have to go, it's lights out."
"Shut up, Cassie."
"Here's what I'm thinking," she smiled, "all I have to do is keep playing nice with Captain drunk ass and hopefully he'll do what Sam did with Brittany and take her to the main floor. Once I'm there I'm good as golden. Then when they take me to the city, I make my exit. He's barely even sober enough to walk half the time.  Lord knows he can only keep it hard calling me 'bunny'.  What the hell is that?  Some weird term of endearment?  He won't even notice until I'm long gone."
"I thought you had a thing for Thor."
"He clearly just wants sex," she muttered, "he's not going to choose anyone. I mean think about it Dani. I've been letting him have sex with me for weeks and nothing. I play the good little girl when he comes around and I'm still down here, with you, Jade, your sister, and even Mira."
"Mira is down here?"
"Apparently the guy with the freaky arm got tired of her and sent her back down here," she laughed, "and about time too. We all know she was getting special treatment because he broke her jaw...well guess he got tired of her quick when he realized she wasn't willing to let him use her other holes.   If I had a shot in hell, I’d go for him.  He seems desperate…At this rate the only one of us getting out of here is Brittany."
I stood there, staring at her, unsure of what to say.
Was that true?
Were they really going to kill us if they decided they didn't want us?
"HEY!"
I looked up to see Sam opening the door. "Sorry?"
"You girls are done," he said quickly, "Come on. Back to your rooms."
I looked around to see that Cassie had already left the laundry room. When I got to the hallway she was already waiting at her door.
"You don't want us to take that up stairs for you guys?"
"Brittany can grab it," he said slowly, "thanks for doing the laundry, ladies."
"Any time, Sam." Cassie winked, heading into her room. I groaned, going into mine. Going beside the bed I began to do some crunches. That was, until my door was opened.
"Lady Danielle?"
My head popped up from beside the bed and he raised a brow at me.
"I was doing crunches," I told Thor, "Sam didn't take us to the gym today, and I don't want to miss anything."
He nodded, setting a tray down on my desk, "well. Here is your dinner."
He stepped to the side as I got up and went over to the desk. When I sat down and looked back, I realized that he was staring at me.
"What?"
"Aren't you going to say thank you?"
"No," I said, rolling my eyes, "I'm not going to thank you for keeping me alive."
"Well then," he said simply. He sat down in the chair that was next to the desk, "I think I will sit here until you learn manners and can thank me."
"What," I growled, picking at the sandwich, "you and your buddies stop raping women after the first few weeks?"
He looked down at his hands and began fiddling with them, "I will admit, that was a low point you've seen of me."
"A low point?" I asked, raising my brow, "Rogers raped me and my sister. You've raped Cas-"
"I never raped her," he said quickly, "I've heard her consent any time she and I have had relations, Lady Danielle."
"I'm sure you have," I replied sarcastically, "was that before or after the words 'stop' occurred?"
"Usually there is a 'don't' before that 'stop' but-"
"If this is your attempts to be cute or funny you can stop right where it is," I growled at him. His smile fell from his face, "and you can stop pretending to be friendly with me. I know what you guys are going to do to us when your time is up...Cassie told me that you guys kill the women you don't take with you."
"Lady Cassandra has told you," he sighed with a shake of his head. He looked away from me and began to play with his hands again, "I should not be surprised."
"So why are you here then?" I asked, "I am not going to sleep with you, Thor. If you want open legs, head to Cassie's room."
"I do not think that I want to be with Lady Cassandra," he admitted slowly, "she-she is not what I am looking for."
"What?" I asked, "a woman that openly gives herself to you isn't what you're looking for?"
"Not when she openly gives herself to every man that she can."
"How do-"
"I was in the watch room earlier," he nodded, "I got to see firsthand what Lady Cassandra does behind my back."
"That still doesn't answer why you are here."
"I don't know," he admitted, shaking his head, "I just...you've slept with Captain Rogers, yes?"
"Not willingly."
"But you've slept with him."
"Yes."
"I just...I suppose I figured that you knew how I was feeling," he shrugged, "two people we had relations with had relations with one another and we both saw it first hand."
"I wasn't dating Steve," I replied, matter of fact, "and you weren't dating Cassie. Hell Steve's not even dating Cassie. She has a boyfriend in the city. She's dating Mira's ex-boyfriend."
"I'm aware that I'm not in a relationship with her," he sighed, "but it-it still hurts."
He scoffed after he said that, almost as if he couldn't believe that he was admitting it out loud, "it hurts?"
"Yes," he nodded, "it hurts. A lot. I didn't think that a mere mortal could upset me like this, but she has. She has upset me a lot."
"Well, you shouldn't be upset about her," I shrugged, picking up my sandwich and taking a bite. I tried to think of the best way to say it, but there was none, "she's a whore, Thor. Trust me when I say that you could do better than someone like Cassie."
"Someone worth my time?" he asked.  I nodded, unable to stop myself from feeling drawn to him, "I want to give the world to someone, Lady Danielle. I don't want them to take advantage of me."
I shuddered when his hand went to my cheek and slid down until it hit my collarbone.  I looked into his eyes, and suddenly, it was like I was seeing him in an entirely different light.  He wasn’t some cocky, self-assured god.  He was just another man.
A beautiful man bearing his soul to me.
"Thor?"
"Lady Danielle."
And our lips met.  I smiled, entangling my hands in his hair.

character: alex jones!
Tumblr media
prompt: Alex Jones relationship HC's + first kiss!
A/N: AS ALWAYS PLEASE SUGGEST THINGS THRU MY ASKBOX!
The two of you stay inside mostly or go driving, he likes just driving and picking a spot, camping there for the night with you.
You knew him before the incident. And you knew he was one of the sweetest boys in the world. He was quiet, kept to himself. He tried his best.
But then the incident happened, and everyone turned on him. He almost had a meltdown in the police station, and he was really fucking scared when Keller grabbed him in the parking lot.
But when he was able to go home, he found himself restless, he missed you a lot. It'd been a week since he last saw you.
You'd try calling, but no one ever picked up the phone at home.
He'd settled back in at home, the he heard a soft knock on the edge of his door frame. He looked up, and there you stood. You had come back!
He stood up, shuffling to you. You held out your arms to show him that it was okay that he hugged you, that was something you two had to work on. He practically runs over to you, he seals his arms around your torso. You of course did the same for him, wrapping your arms around him in a tight imbrace.
"I missed you a lot this week, Alex." You say into his shoulder, and he would nod to agree.
You stayed there the rest of the day, just laying in his bed and holding eachother in peace. You'd play with his hair and hum tunes that he'd liked.
And then you left to go home. Just as you were going to leave, he'd grabbed his dogs leash and collar. Soon enough, he walked you to your car with his dog.
You'd gone home, and that next morning, you'd gotten a call from Detective Loki that Alex had gone missing, all they found was his dogs collar.
You felt tears start to spill almost immediately after you got the news, you went to the police station demanding to see Loki.
He did see you of course, he pulled you outside so you two could talk.
And you told him what you thought. "Listen, Alex would never run away, and he would never abduct two little girls. I'm his partner, I know him best. He got kidnapped, there's no way he didn't. And I think it might've been Dover who did it. I mean, he did assault Alex in the fucking parking lot!"
Loki agreed with all of your points, he also thought Dover was a suspicious character.
And after awhile, they found him. They found Alex. He wasn't in good shape at all. Holly was in jail now, and Alex was on a respirator.
You were with him as soon as you could be. Apparently, his name was Barry, not Alex at all. You didn't care what his name was, just that he was okay. He was alive.
Through the following month, you stayed with him in the hospital. He actually talked a lot more, and seemed happier. Barry got reunited with his family, but they would just have to get used to you being there. They couldn't separate the two of you. Alex let them know that.
After he went home, you still took care of him. You'd go home, grab some stuff and stayed at his house. You'd ice his lip when he'd bust it open again, and you'd help him with other things.
You and his family also made the choice that Barely needed professional help, all of this had to be affecting him somehow. And surprisingly, Barry was compliment to it.
Through the months, he really improved. You were with him every step of the way. He was learning to weave his way through life and learned things he was never taught.
You two would lay in bed at night and you'd hold him like always.
But tonight was different. He looked up at you, and his eyes softened. And all Barry said was "thank you for... being here. I need to ask you if I can do something." He says.
You nod, giving him the go ahead. "Can I kiss you, please?" He asks, love swirling in his eyes.
After nine months of being together, he was asking. You weren't gonna rush him at all, it was his page and you were 100% okay with that. "Of course."
It was short and sweet. He just pecked your lips, and then he immediately backed up as if he hurt you. You smiled, bringing him back closer.
"Here, like this." You say, putting your lips on his in a firm way. You slipped your hand onto his, eachother fingers intertwining. He was a lot more steady this time. He pushed back into you, smiling into it.
Then the two of you parted and he looked at you with a soft smile.
"Thank you."

Under his influence (Post Avengers! Loki x female reader)
Read chapter 4 here // Series Masterlist
Chapter 5
Summary : The cuddle streak is broken by the end of your 30th birthday.
Warning: mention of drinking, sweet loki is sweet, short chapter (3k words)
Tumblr media
In the morning you again woke up before him. Thank the gods. This has been going on for a week now, you had decided to put a stop to it like three nights ago but that obviously didn't work. You sneaked out of his embrace slowly and tiptoed towards the bathroom as if you were doing the walk of shame. Why did you always feel like such a sinner in the morning?
"It's just cuddles..be a mature adult about this" you mumbled to yourself. Well mature adults don't cuddle their mature friends. Also you shouldn't be cuddling men who existed even before the 19th century.
It was your birthday tomorrow, the day you have been dreading since your last birthday, the awful 30th, you were officially going to step out of your 20s with nothing to boot about. Nothing you ever did in life had made you proud of yourself.
For once you managed to leave the apartment without bumping into him, though why did he have to look so good when he was in deep sleep?
"So your place tomorrow? We are excited" Lyla squealed and you gave her a smile. Her and a bunch of other colleagues at the gym invited themselves to your birthday party that you didn't want to have in the first place.
"Yeah okay I'll see you tomorrow" as if you had any other options.
As you went home, he was folding your laundry, he was such a good roommate that you'd often forget that he wasn't your roommate. However as soon as he grabbed your grandma panties you snatched it out of his hand with the speed of the lightening.
"It's just a piece of fabric" he let out a hearty laugh so you glared at him.
"It's …intimate" So are the spooning sessions at night but he didn't see you complaining about them. None of you mentioned anything about them cuddles in the light of the day and it was starting to rub him in a certain way. A part of him was relieved because he wasn't sure if he was up for that conversation just yet, he didn't even know how you perceived him, was he just a friend? Only a friend?
"So big day tomorrow, are we having a celebration?" you sighed as he said that. You felt anxious telling him that he'd have to stay invisible tomorrow when your co-workers would come, it was one thing to introduce him to the family but you didn't want to put him at more risk. What if you get drunk and mess up or he does the whole magicky thing out of nowhere. You didn't want him to get caught, what would they do to him if he was to get caught? Would they hurt him? The thought made you want to cuddle him again.
"Uhhh actually my coworkers will be coming. I guess people really do like free drinks huh?" He chuckled as you said that
"So I'm assuming you won't be requiring my presence here?"
God he made everything easy, he just always knew what to say
"Loki, I want you here, you're my friend. It's just I don't want to put your life at risk, there would be several people, pictures will be taken and shared on Facebook or something, I'm sure Tony Stark must have the high technology where they can trace you with your face print or something right?" He continued to smile as you blabbed incoherently.
"I suppose so"
"I'm sorry" your eyes teared up so he walked towards you. He was wearing that cute blue shirt you had gotten for him. The color really popped his eyes, it also contrasted with his light pale skin so well.
"You don't have to apologize my darling, we will celebrate afterwards if you'd be open to that"
"Of Course.. ofcourse"
"This is your home, I don't ever want you to feel burdened by my presence "
"You never burden me Loki, I love living with you" his brows wiggled as you said that "I meant I like it..just a healthy amount" you chuckled as you walked away to put the stack of clothes in the closet. You wanted to die at the moment, actually dying while still in your 20s didn't sound so bad "It's not like I'm obsessed with you or anything " you mumbled but he only gave you his signature smile in response.
"How are you feeling?" He asked you, making you sigh deeply
"Well I'm bummed for sure. I mean I'll never get to be in my twenties again you know? The ship has sailed, the boats have..uhh boated. I don't know." The boat has bailed would have rhymed better but nope "Did you feel this way when you turned uhhh I don't know.. seven hundred" Your voice got lower and then higher by the end of the sentence, sometimes it was hard to grasp that he indeed was more than a thousand years old.
"Well in Asgard the numbers barely hold any value. It is the intelligence that's of significance when determining whether or not a man has matured completely, we grow up in phases, numbers are just that..numbers"
"Huhh. So are you a fully matured grown up?" You asked him and he chuckled
"Merely a few years back I thought that the mass extinction of my own kind would finally gain me the approval of Odin so I believe the answer would be no"
He smiled but you could tell that part of his life really affected him. Of Course it did, you couldn't imagine this soft sweet baby hurting someone, let alone hurting his own kind so cruelly, but then you also didn't know what he was going through, maybe he snapped and had enough, you always felt you'd snap someday too and become a villain that's hungry for revenge. But then you always allowed the karma to do its thing, and also because you were too lazy to become an actual villain. It was too much thinking. You walked towards him and hugged him to comfort him
"Well I'm sure you have outgrown that phase of yours now because the man that i know here.. my sweet friend–" Again with the friend he thought "He's pretty amazing" Well pretty and amazing you thought.
"So are you princess" your face got warm at the pet name so you took a step away from him.
Did he just call you a princess? You would barely qualify as a peasant on Asgard.
"I'll go shower and we can eat"
You did the routine- Shower, eat, brush teeth, sleep in separate beds and then one of the two would crawl in the other's bed depending on the mood.
It was his turn today, as the clock hit 12 he crawled into your bed and snuggled into you. Before you could say anything he greeted you,
"Happy Birthday Princess" a birthday wish has never sounded so sweet
"Thank you Loki" you smiled as you hooked your arm around him "This is not as bad as I thought it would be, you being here is helping though" he chuckled as you said that "I'm not joking, i really would have been a crying mess right now if you weren't here"
"Even if I wasn't here at this moment, I think I would have find you sooner or later"
"No you wouldn't have, it was pure luck"
"I do not think something so frivolous such as luck brought me to you, that tesseract has a mind of its own, the cube wanted me here"
"Isn't it called mind stone? "
"No it's the space one..what I'm trying to convey is that perhaps our paths were destined to collide"
"You're very cute" he smiled as you said that he has never been called cute before, that word was only used for small little creatures on Asgard and not gods like him "Can I ask you a question?" You mumbled so he hummed in response.
"Are you always this cold because you're a frost god?" A frost god? He was just a giant monster.
"Yes. I can manipulate my temperature though, would you like me to go warm?"
"Would it be uncomfortable for you?"
"Just a little, nothing I can not bear"
"Mmmm then i don't want it Loki, besides i am enjoying this, perfect for summers " you chuckled as you finished your sentence, you didn't want to get so completely obvious with your crush on him. You had no idea how much your sweet words and your care for him has affected him though, someone cared about his comfort and that wasn't something he was used to having.
Next day once you got all dolled up for the party he couldn't stop staring at you, the dress you had on made you look different, he thoroughly enjoyed you being in your pajamas but this wasn't too bad either.
He wanted to give you a little something before your friends would arrive so he sat down with you on the sofa.
"I was so rattled all night because I couldn't choose what I wanted to give you as a present –"
"Loki you don't have to do that" you placed your hand on his so he looked down and it immediately made you pull back.
"I know I don't necessarily have to, I just really wanted to" you smiled as he said that "There were plenty of things I could have given you that probably would have been more suitable for a lady like you, however–" his eyes teared up and so did yours, the softness in his voice remained undefeated, you didn't even need a gift anymore, this was enough. He waved his fingers and there was a small gift box in his hand, wrapped in a pretty paper and bunch of golden flowers, he passed it to you so you started to unwrap it
"I believed you'd rather want something sentimental and personal, something that would make you think of me" When he's not there he thought. As you opened the box, you found a knife in there, it was a knife polished in pure gold, the handle made from the finest oak, it had your name on it and there was a small birthday wish engraved on the blade,
"If you ever find yourself trapped by the twisted paths of uncertainties, remember that you can always cut through and make a new one, Loki"
"Loki–" you could hardly whisper his name and then it suddenly hit you, it wasn't any ordinary knife, it was the knife you had thrown at him on the first day, you recognised the blade, he had just molded it to make it look extraordinary "Ohhh god–" you looked at him, your eyes filled with several little emotions and then you hugged him as tightly as you could,
"Loki..This--" your breath hitched in your chest, making it almost impossible to talk to him "This is the most thoughtful gift i have ever received..thank you" he grabbed your hand and placed a small kiss, the look on your face made him feel content.
"Thank you lo ..thank you so much" you hugged him for a good minute before you pulled away, at night it didn't matter because the sleep always got you but rest of the times holding him for such a long time only made your thoughts spiral.
Unfortunately you didn't have much time because your colleagues would be here soon.
"Sooo ..just curious, what were the other things you could have gifted me" you questioned him and it made him chuckle.
"Jewels Perhaps"
"Yeahh I'm not into jewels sooo" you smiled and it made him smile too. He knew you'd appreciate something that held a sentimental value "Ummm okay I was wondering if people can still touch you if you're invisible?"
"Yes, I am indeed tangible but do not worry I'll just hide in my vault "
"What?"
"Its spacious "
"Nooo noo no Loki, I can't..i would like it if you're here..with me" you smiled and he returned it.
"Alright "
He disappeared as soon as he heard the door buzzing, it felt weird to not see him and you really really wanted to see him. But knowing that he was there made you feel slightly better. As you opened the door, Lyla hugged you and Loki glared at her, this woman kept calling you chubby, he didn't like her already. There were two other ladies and three men, he kept his eyes on this particular guy, his name that he learned was Chase, he couldn't stop flirting with you even though you didn't seem interested or maybe that was his wishful thinking.
You went into the kitchen as you made them all sit down in the living room which was basically just a few feet away. Loki has graciously offered you a bunch of chairs and a table for the party. He was like a genie, he was exactly like a Genie.
One of the guys turned the tv on , giving you the headache already.
"Guys look ..look.. queen of Asgard is on tv" you ran into the living room as he said that. Queen of Asgard as in Frigga? What was she doing here?
"Loki, my son, wherever you are please return to me, I can not lose you again, enough of the jesting, your father has given me his word that there will be no consequences, please return, your family awaits your presence"
Loki had told you about her, from what he had shared you knew she was that one person he really loved and cared for. What did she mean by losing him again? Loki never shared what had really happened after his fight with Thor all those years back in Asgard.
"Come on it's a party..shut it off" Lyla whined as she sipped on her drink. You looked around in worry as you couldn't spot Loki but you knew he was watching.
"Man i wonder where that murderer bastard is" Steven, one of the guys said
"Mind your language you hear me?" You defended loki immediately,
"He's right though..a criminal like him rolling around freely isn't good for us" Stacy said and you rolled your eyes. What did they even know about him? You did, and he wasn't as evil as he should have been after everything he has been through, you knew he didn't attack NYC on his own, he was compelled and forced to do it.
You looked behind and you could see the bathroom door opening and closing so you went in there and locked the door.
"Loki are you–" before you could finish your word he had you pressed against the door with his palm right over your mouth, you looked right up into his eyes as he appeared, he was in his Asgardian clothing, a long black tunic with matching trouser, the color looked the best on him, it complimented his raven hair.
"They can hear you" he whispered quietly so you nodded, as he took a step back you breathed in deeply, the proximity always messed up your brain. All you could think about was kissing him and then him picking you up to place you down on the sink while you two would make out
"Your mother–"
"It's just so typical of Thor to involve our mother in between our quarrels" he mumbled in frustration.
"Well it's more than just a quarrel" you chuckled so he gave you a smile "She said that..there will be no consequences –"
"She's lying ofcourse "
"But she won't lie to you would she?" He chuckled again but his eyes had gotten teary this time, you squeezed your eyes shut as you remembered that she had lied to him about his heritage all his life.
"Are you okay?" You whispered so he nodded.
"Go enjoy the celebration darling, I'm absolutely alright I promise " you nodded as he said that. Maybe he just wanted to be alone.
You went back to the living room but you couldn't stop thinking about him, he seemed troubled and you wanted to hug him as tightly as you could.
Once everyone left and you couldn't have been more grateful that they did, you called out for him, he clicked his fingers and there he was, on your bed, reading his book.
"Are you okay?" You asked him so he hummed
"Are you?"
"I'm fine..a bit drunk but fine"
You gulped so he nodded.
"So that's your mom huh"
"Adoptive mother, I never even met my birth mother " he answered as he flipped the page of the book.
"Ohhh .. ummm.. soo.. do you want to celebrate my birthday..ummm there's a cake, I think you'll like it" you walked towards the kitchen and he sighed. He put the book down and followed you, his mood had turned sour but he really didn't want to upset you. He also really wanted to kiss you right now.
"Ummm so Chase asked me out on a date" he crossed his arms as you told him. That boar wanted to romance you? He didn't deserve a woman like you. Nobody did. He didn't think midgardian men possessed the heart to value a lady such as you.
"So you'd court this man?"
"I uhhh–" what were you supposed to say? You just wanted to see his reaction, you weren't sure this is the reaction you wanted. You wanted him to get jealous
"What should I do?" You questioned him like a moron and he snickered. Did he just snicker? Was he upset?
"I'm no one to make that sort of decisions for you darling"
"Well..Perhaps one date won't kill me" you mumbled. You really were picking up his lingos.
"Yeah, perhaps " Did he just use the word yeah?
"Okay ummm here's the cake " you passed him the plate so he took it. He couldn't stop you from courting other people if you wanted to, he wasn't your significant other afterall, he was just a friend, probably not even that. He was just the burden.
That night he didn't approach you for cuddling because he figured you'd rather cuddle this new man, you didn't either because you thought he didn't want to do it anymore.
Did you just ruin the cuddling arrangement by opening your big mouth? You weren't even into this Chase guy. You'd tell Chase tomorrow that you weren't into him, you weren't going to do what other people had done to you. It was deceiving.
Well that was the plan you had made before sleeping but an argument happened and for some reason you ended up on this date anyways. And Loki was definitely bitter about it. Extremely bitter.

Part Five-
====================================
Tumblr media
You got home and tossed you're stuff aside sitting on the couch, thinking about what those women said to you. It wasn't anything new, you'd heard it before, but that didn't make it hurt less. Your whole life it was something, beginning with your father. you were too short, your hair too y/h/c/, you were too fat, to skinny, worthless, on and on. He always made a point of telling you you'd never amount to anything, and no one would ever love you. Maybe he was right....
You sat there, you had thought things had changed with Loki. You weren't friends by any means, but he started saying please, and thanking you after running errands. You'd feel his fingers brush your lower back when hed pass behind you. Giving you small smiles every now and then. You knew you had developed a small crush on him, who wouldn't, the man was attractive. The way his hair flowed down to his shoulders and looked so soft you wanted to run your fingers through it. The way his emerald eyes looked into your soul. His smile was perfection, and his body......you'd seen him in sweatpants and a tshirt once, which left nothing to the imagination. You shook the thought from your head, he'd never want you.
You got up to shower and make dinner. You sat back on the couch, your mind returning to Loki, as it had started doing. Why couldn't you stop thinking about him. When did that happen? He's an asshole isnt he? The same guy that tormented you at the coffee shop. What had changed? Maybe it would be best to quit. Suddenly your phone went off and you sighed.
Y/n, last day of filming is tomorrow followed by a wrap party. I won't need you in the morning but i'm going to need you In attendance at the party so we can finalize our trip. It is formal, so wear a dress. Be here by 6pm.
Loki
You sighed reading the message. You didn't have any formal clothes, you'd have to go shopping. You were about to text back telling him you were going to start looking for another job when he text you again
I would also like to apologize for the way my acquaintance spoke to you today. It was uncalled for and will not happen again. See you tomorrow
Loki
You read the message a few times, shocked. Had he actually apologized. You sat there a minute before responding
See you tomorrow
Y/n
You tried not to think to much into it, maybe he just didn't want you to quit. So you put your phone away and headed to bed.
You were putting the finishing touches on your look. You went out and bought a dress today, it was dark green with a high neckline and a slit up the the left leg. You went with your flats instead of heels, comfort over style as always. You and wrapped your hair in a bun with a few strands coming down to frame your face. You had just finished your makeup and noticed it was 5:30. "Shit.." you said to yourself, and hurried and grabbed your purse and headed out.
You arrived exactly at 6, and of course Loki wasn't there yet. You didn't really know anyone else so you grabbed a drink and headed to a remote table in the corner. You checked your phone and it was 7, and still no sign of Loki. You were about to text him because you had to finalize the trip when you heard a commotion by the door. You leaned to see through the group of people and saw his raven hair, slicked back just right. He walked further in and you saw his all black suit that had to have been made for him, it was perfect, with a black button up and black tie.
You felt entirely out of place so you stayed where you were. You saw some blonde woman on his arm, smiling and flirting with him, it irritated you. Why? What did it matter what he did? You watched as they talked and she ran her fingers up his chest. You thought about what his muscles felt like under that suit, how it would feel pressed against him. You could feel your face flush when he leaned over and kissed her. As he wrapped his hand around her head and put his tongue in her mouth you had had enough. You got up to leave not looking at them. Why were you upset? Why were affected by what he did, he was your boss, nothing more. You didn't feel anything for him, did you?
Damn the trip plans, you would just go email them to him. As you made it to the door someone grabbed your wrist. You whipped around quickly to see those emerald eyes staring at you. "Y/n, I hadn't seen you yet." He said still holding your wrist looking you up and down. "Well, you were a bit busy sucking that girls face" you said pointing at the blonde that was glaring at you. He sighed and let go of your wrist. "You look lovely tonight y/n" he said staring at you. "So do you" you said looking at you feet. "Do you want to go over the plans?" He said looking you over again. "I can just email them to you, I know your busy" you said looking between him and her. "You aren't leaving are you?" He said stepping closer. "Yeah I think so, I'm just really tired and want to sleep before the flight tomorrow" you said looking down. All he did was nod. "Do you need a ride home?" He asked. "No" you said a little too quickly. "No, I'll be fine walking." You said taking a step back.
"Y/n, I am truly sorry about yesterday, if I had known..." he started but you stopped him. "Don't worry about it, it's fine. I'm used to it." You said looking at your feet, missing the pained expression on his face. "Well you better get back to your date. Goodnight Loki" you said and left before he could say anything. You had taken the bun out of your hair and let it lay free. You were a few blocks from your apartment when you felt someone watching you, you turned around but no one was there. You picked up the pace a little, trying to make it home when someone grabbed you pulling you into the alley. You tried to scream but your mouth was covered. You were shoved face first against the wall and a knife put to your throat. "Give me your money" a man's voice said. He uncovered your mouth "I don't have any money with me" you said trying not to panic. He grabbed your purse and dumped it out. It was only your phone, lipstick and keys. You didn't need any money tonight. "Well, no money, I may need to get something else out of you then" he growled and you tried to push off the wall.
You tried to scream but he covered your mouth again. You felt his hand going into the slit in your dress and with all your power pushed back and shoved him off and took off, but he was too fast, grabbing you and slamming your head against the wall. Your vision went blurry and your head was pounding. You felt sluggish, as you started to slump down. He grabbed you and pushed you back against the wall. You felt his hand go into your dress again and into your panties but couldn't will your body to stop him, you were disoriented, you put your arms behind you to try and push him off but he pinned them between you.. there was nothing you could do. "Just relax, I'll make you feel good." The man said.
You felt a tear run down your cheek when suddenly the man was ripped from behind you. You started to fall but someone caught you. You looked up but couldn't make out who it was. They said something but it didn't make sense. Then you were alone again. You heard yelling but didn't know where it was coming from. You felt dizzy, nauseous, everything was spinning and then everything was black.
Loki pov-
Norns I wanted her to stay. She looked so beautiful tonight, well she always was, but wearing my colors, she was a vision. She insisted on walking home as usual and I hated it. I know how dangerous it is at night but Gods was she stubborn. I walked back over to my "date" as y/n called her, but that's not what she was. She was just some woman I picked for the night. I kept thinking back to y/n, I had a bad feeling. "Baby, whats the matter?" She asked me, I couldn't remember her name honeslty. "Nothing" I said looking towards the door. "Your not thinking about that thing are you" she asked and I looked at her. "I beg your pardon" I asked glaring at her. "That thing that just left that you were talking to. Good riddance by the way" she said and shrugged. I pulled her hands off me and stood back.
"Her name is y/n, and I'll have you know she has more intelligence and class in her finger then you do in your entire body, atleast she has a brain" she looked at me shocked. "This is over, I'm leaving" I said and left. I jumped in my car and started driving towards y/n's apartment. I wanted to make sure she made it. I made it to her apartment and hadn't seen her so I assumed she was fine. I was about to text her when I heard a muffled scream, but couldn't figure out where it came from.
I got out and took off down the sidewalk trying to find where it came from when I saw two figures in the alley. I started to walk closer and saw it was y/n, and a man with a knife to her throat and his other hand...."What the hell are you doing!!" I yelled going towards them. "Screw off pal she's mine" he said. I yanked him off and threw him against the other wall. I grabbed y/n as she fell. "Y/n are you ok, what happened?" I said but her eyes were glossed over and she wasn't focused on me. She had blood running down her face, she had a concussion I was sure.
I set her down, materialized one of my daggers and went after the man. He saw my knife and took off. I was going to go after him but I didn't want to leave y/n. I put my dagger away and turned around and She was laying on the ground. "Shit" I said running back to her. I couldn't get her to wake but she had a pulse. I needed to heal her but I couldn't be seen. I saw her purse and grabbed it taking out her keys and putting the other things in my pocket. I careful picked her up watching her head and headed to her apartment....

Imagine waking up one day with Loki nowhere to be found. You look for him in all the possible places he may have gone to, you ask people, you ask Thor. He also doesn't know where he is. No one does. He's nowhere to be found. So you just decide to do the next best thing - wait.
You waited and waited and waited.
One Sunday afternoon after two years or so, you finally get to your apartment from the park - wearing your baby carrier, folded stroller on right hand and baby bag on left shoulder. You get to your apartment door on the 3rd floor. As soon as you opened it, you immediately drop down the stroller and the baby bag on the floor, attempting to do it as silently as you can. You fail, however, as little Freya starts to wake up in front of you. You take her out of the baby carrier, sit on the couch, and try to cradle her in your arms to fall back to sleep. After a few minutes, she's fast asleep already so you open the door to your bedroom and put her inside her crib. You let out an exhausted sigh while taking a seat on the edge of the bed when all of a sudden the sheets behind you move. You back away from the bed, take a deep breath and gather all the courage to pull back the sheets and... it's a man! It's a fucking rando guy! His hair is all messed up, covering his face, and his clothes are all torn to pieces and it also seems like he just came from some kind of battle or something. You don't really care though because his well-being is the least of your concern. Your sleeping daughter is just in the corner of the same room you're in and her safety is the only thing on your mind. So, you wake him up. And you decide to do this by poking him, but that's not working.. so you lightly slap him, still not working. Finally, you just pour some very cold water on him and thankfully, he wakes up. And you can't fucking believe who you're staring at.
It's Loki.
It's Loki. Your fucking boyfriend! No. You're EX-boyfriend! You're fucking ghost of an ex-boyfriend!
With a gasp, he immediately has his two hands in front of him, "I'm sorry! I'm so sorry, Y/n. Please. I didn't know where to go. I apologize, darling. I needed a place to go to. Just.. please? I'm really sorry."
Seeing as he looks like he just came from a war or a bloody whatever, you try your best to calm yourself down so as not to wake up Freya... and so as not to murder the life out of him!
Sighing, you lean close to his face, grab his hand and say, "Get up. You better have the BEST fucking explanation for all this. And don't call me 'darling'."
You drag him out into the living room, but not before checking up on the baby.
"Okay, sit."
He takes a seat on the couch. "I'm sorry."
"Shut up." You get your medicine kit and toss it at him. "Clean up your face and your wounds. You look like a mess."
"Yes, sure. Of course." He starts taking out bandaids, gauze, whatever... you don't really pay attention to him because you're too busy already pacing back and forth.
"SHUT UP! . . . . . I can't believe this! You were gone! You were- You just... YOU. WERE. GONE. Now you're here? Huh. Of course, you're here! You're fucking Houdini! This is..."
Throughout all this, Loki was just silently cleaning his wounds. As you told him to. But then you stopped talking. He looked up at your face and was devastated when he saw tears in your eyes.
"What happened? ... What happened to you? ... Where did you go? Please."
Loki nods. "I had to, dar- Y/n. I had to. If I didn't, he said he'd come for you. Then my brother, my family. He'd come for everyone I knew and ever cared about. . . I am so, so sorry."
Night came then, and you and Loki talked, cried, argued, laughed - a little bit. You asked questions, he answered them. And you made sure you asked all of the questions you ever had throughout the two years he was gone. He gave you explanations. You believed every single one of them, taking a chance that he wasn't lying at all and was being honest about all this.
"I'm sorry again, by the way.. for bothering you. I didn't mean to frighten you earlier. I... didn't think you would have a child with you. And I'm sorry, your husband probably wouldn't appreciate that I'm here and all. But don't worry, I'll go over to Thor tonight and he'll definitely be angry at me but he'll still take me in. Thank you, Y/n."
"Hm. I don't have a husband."
"Oh, a... wife, then?"
You lightly chuckle at this, "No. I- I don't have a spouse. I'm... not married."
"Oh, um..."
"She's yours."
"What?"
"I don't really think there's the best, most appropriate time to tell you this but... Freya, she's 2. After a few days when you disappeared, I um.. found out I was pregnant."
It was Loki's turn to have tears in his eyes, "You mean... um... Can I..?
"Oh, uh.. I don't.. Loki, I'm sure you can understand. I.. don't want to introduce you to her... yet. I know she's just two years old but still. Sorry."
"I understand."
Later that night, you're in your bed already with Freya lying asleep next to you. You let Loki sleep in the living room when all of a sudden, you're awaken by Freya giggling at the shadow in the corner. "Freya? Who- Okay, come out now. She can see you.. or... sense you.. or... feel you?? I'm not really sure but she's half you so.. there's no use for you using your invisibility cloak magic whatever."
Loki only laughs at this while revealing himself.
At the end of it all, you decide to just finally introduce Freya to her father and Loki to her. As of now, your family is whole again and you just pray and hope to yourself that it would stay this way from now on.
idk how to end it lmao idk how to write tbh THIS IS A VERY LONG, CRAZY AND SPECIFIC IMAGINE AND IM SURE THIS HAS ALREADY BEEN MADE BUT THIS JUST POPPED INTO MY HEAD and im so fcking sleepy already and YES i know freya is the most mediocre name but my brain is just all blurry right now so.. yes.

Loki has never been one to finish his meals. Always left something, never been too interested in savory foods.
Not that he didn't like them. He just didn't pay much interest to it.
When you started dating you saw this behaviour in him and when you asked why he didn't eat it all, he answered it was just some royalty thing.
"It was a prince manner thing, to eat slowly and tiny. My mother taught me. But Thor and Odin finished too soon, they ate like animals, and when the King finishes, you have to stop eating too".
You nodded but explained that he was now in Midgard, and he was free to eat all he wanted.
But it was already too deep on him. To not finish the plate.
So you started making him a bit bigger plates, so at least he wouldn't be hungry by leaving some.
But you saw his disinterest. He just really didn't care about food. Or at least convinced himself he didn't.
Sometimes he'd observe a really delicious sweet you'd be eating with such lust... but when you offered him he'd always answer the same.
"I don't like sweets, thanks".
You've never seen him eating sweets, he said it was bad for the teeth and the stomach, and he didn't really like it.
Now, movie night. You were both cuddling on the couch, he ran his long fingers through your hair, he caressed an eyebrow with his thumb, the day was cold outside yet his body warmth kept you in a perfect temperature.
You were watching Harry Potter, because he's never seen it and you couldn't believe he lived a thousand years without relating a lightning to something else than his brother.
And after almost an hour you remembered "I bought some chocolate to watch the movie with". He laughed slightly as you went to look for it.
You came back with a box of Ferrero Rocher chocolate. The golden and shiny box caught his attention like a puppy.
"You and your sweet tooth" he said, smiling and getting back to the movie.
"I bought it for you too, I think you'll like it".
He smiled and told you he didn't like sweets, as he usually said. But you just didn't believe him. He was actively avoiding it.
You could see that typical sparkle in the eyes a child has when is showed the most expensive toy. A sparkle of "I really can't have this but I want it with my heart and soul".
You knew exactly what happened there. He was avoiding satisfaction. He probably liked sweets, but he wanted to feel like he could control that.
He wanted to feel like he could control it, and he probably thought he didn't deserve it.
And that sucked three thousand.
Because he totally deserved it. He deserved to enjoy enjoyable things. He deserved to eat mindlessly some chocolate with his partner in a movie night.
So you teased him into trying it. Playfully, without being too invasive.
"Mmh, it smells awesome".
"Oh, I adore this".
"This is the best chocolate I've ever eaten".
He knew what you were doing and joked back.
"Stop making love to the food, my dearest".
"Come do it yourself, then".
You both laughed as he threw himself on top of you and started tickling your tummy and neck, until you were unable to breathe.
After all the tickling, he rested his head on your stomach and you caressed his hair. He sank his nose in your soft belly and kissed all the way up to your chin.
He stopped there and looked at you with the unconditional love he always looked at you. You looked at him back, a little bit worried.
"You seem concerned".
"I am, a bit, yeah".
"Wanna talk it out?", he asked, without a single clue of what was bothering you.
He was unaware that you knew what he did with.
"It's about you. I understand you might not want to talk about it, but I'd like to give it a try, okay?", you started carefully.
"Yes, my love. Talk away".
You sat on the couch again and handed him a piece of chocolate. He forced a smile and glanced at you with wonder in his eyes.
"What?".
"What goes through your mind right now?", you said, still holding the chocolate towards him.
"What's this about, darling?". He still was asking you sweetly, but you knew it was bothering him just the mention of it.
"I... I don't think you don't like chocolate".
"If I liked it, I'd eat it. Otherwise, what would be the point of avoiding it?" He excused himself. A terrible liar, who'd say?
"Exactly. What would be the point, indeed", you said with a soft look.
He glanced down and didn't look at you for a while. You kept talking.
"It doesn't make you weak, you know?"
He glanced up and met your gaze with the fear of a child who's been caught misbehaving.
"How...?" He stuttered. You grabbed both his hands and kept talking.
"It doesn't make you unworthy. It doesn't make you lame, or silly, or lazy. It doesn't make you bad. It won't bring you the problems you think it will".
His eyes were glassy and he kept swallowing, trying to hold back the lump in his throat.
"I feel like it does", he said, with the tiniest voice he's ever spoken.
"But it really doesn't".
"I don't think I deserve it. I know it sounds like madness. And I never thought anyone else is unworthy of eating a piece of chocolate. I don't know what goes through my mind, and I'm not sure what my mind process is".
He was speaking truly from the heart. He was opening up to you in a way he's never opened up to anybody else before.
He was holding back tears. It really affected him.
Now you had to hold back your tears.
After he was done speaking, you hugged him tightly and put his head on your chest. You knew that if he wanted to cry, he'd want to hide his face.
As soon as his face rested on you chest, wrapped up in your arms, he started tearing up a little.
You kissed his tears and he smiled with red and swollen eyes.
"I don't deserve..." he started saying, but you didn't even let him finish.
"You do deserve it. Because..." you whispered, and made direct eye contact to say it "...you deserve the world. Do you hear me? The nine realms and all the worlds in the galaxy".
You knew deep down he didn't believe you. But he nodded and accepted it.
You also knew that if you repeated it over and over for the rest of your long lives, he'll end up believing it.
So you did.
