Haii!! Idk if you’re taking requests atm, but if you are, can I request a Joseph Quinn fanfic where Reader is like a famous singer (or another big actress) and she has the BIGGEST celebrity crush on Joseph? Like during interviews if people ask her about her celeb crush, she wouldn’t hesitate to talk about Joseph. On her social media she’s always talking about Joseph. Or when she’s live she always has to make a remark about Joseph. Seeing all of this, Joseph decided to surprise her because he may or may not have a crush on her too
Pairing: Joseph Quinn x fem!reader
Summary: You're the lead singer of a famous band composed of you and your friends Christian, and Martha. You've always had a huge crush on Joseph Quinn, and have never hesitated to render it public,but at the same time, you've convinced yourself to not have the slightest chance with him. As it turns out, you might have been wrong all along.
Warnings:none
a/n: I was tired of always making y/n an actress so she's a singer this time. Yay! Hope you like it! ps: I would be lying if I said that all I could think about while writing this wasn't the Doja cat/Noah beef...
Tumblr media
OUT OF YOUR LEAGUE
"Do you have a celebrity crush?" You smiled knowingly as Christian and Martha furrowed their brows, looking for an answer. "God, I don't know" Christian exhaled. You looked at Martha as she pinched her lip, trying to think. "Oh!" she exclaimed "I know mine" she declared enthusiastically, clapping her hands together. There was a moment of silence. You and Christian looked at each other and laughed softly "Great," you smiled at her "who is it?" "I have no idea what his name is but he's the guy who played..." she paused to think. You snorted "are you kidding? You don't even know the character's name?" you laughed. "I'm getting there one second" she rolled her eyes. "Oh c'mon," she said exasperated "You know who" she looked at you in search of help "The marvel one." she explained " I showed you a picture the other day" Your mouth formed a perfect o as you understood who she was talking about. "Oh, of course!" you raised your eyebrows. "The winter soldier!" you said looking at the camera "Sebastian Stan" "Yes him!" Martha shouted "God he's SO hot" she said, fanning herself. "Yeah, that's true" you agreed, smiling. "I think mine would be..." Christian said, pausing a moment "I'm gonna be very basic here and say like" he waved his hands in the air "Jennifer Aniston?" he said uncertainly, looking at you for approval. "Yeah, that's always a good answer" you commented "I think she's kinda like everyone's celebrity crush, to be honest" Martha joked. "Yeah, that's true" Christian agreed. There was a moment of silence. "What about you Y/N?" the interviewer behind the camera asked. Martha and Christian simultaneously looked at you and busted out laughing. You bit back a smile and rolled your eyes. "You really have to ask?" Cristian asked sarcastically, turning to the journalist "Yeah, for real." Martha laughed "There isn't one interview where she doesn't manage to talk about him" "or about how sweet he is"Christian added "or about how beautiful he is" Martha continued "or about-" "Yeah, ok guys" you interrupted them "I think they got it" you looked at them with both irritation and amusement. "And also it's not true" you tried defending yourself "I don't talk about him that much" They both turned to you and raised their eyebrows as if to say "really?", and you gave up. "Ok, maybe I do" you giggled. You turned to the camera "My celebrity crush is Joseph Quinn" you said half-laughing. "Do you have a boyfriend?" you read the question through your Instagram live's comments. "Do I have a boyfriend?" you smiled "Good question-" you squinted to see who had asked it "Emma". "Well, see. that depends on how you interpret the question" you joked "Mentally, as many of you may know, I've been dating Joseph Quinn for about 3 years now" you laughed softly as Martha, next to you rolled her eyes dramatically. "But if by dating you mean that the other person also knows you're dating them" you tilted your head to the side "Then I guess I'm single" "OH MY GOD" Martha shouted, clearly exasperated. "Are you serious?" she asked you, amused "Ms. "I don't talk about him that much" she mimicked you, causing you to laugh and hide your face in your hands. "No,guys," she turned to the phone"You don't know this, because the interview hasn't been posted yet but today she literally had the AUDACITY to say that she doesn't talk about him much" you snorted, still hiding. "I'm sorry" you sighed "He's just so perfect". Martha rolled her eyes and you looked up at her and pouted. "Then why don't you make a move?" she said, throwing her hands in the air as a sign of frustration. "I've told you a million times before" she took your head in her hands "DM HIM" she said, shaking your head, to try and put some sense into you, before letting go. "But-" you said with a thin voice "He's famous" you frowned. She looked at you incredulously, opening her mouth to say something and then closing it immediately again, as if she couldn't find the right words to insult you with. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath "Y/N" she said, trying to stay calm "I don't know if you've noticed" she smiled very fakely "But you're famous too" she explained with the same tone you would use for a 2-year-old. You groaned and threw yourself back on the floor you were sitting on. "Why does life have to be so difficult?" you whined. "It's not Y/N" Martha said gently "You, my friend" she booped your nose affectionately and smiled"make it a lot more complicated than it should be" "Thank you so much for coming everyone!" you shouted into the microphone as you started walking backward. The crowd started cheering and shouting, begging you to stay. You really wanted to give in, but you had already prolonged your performance and the staff was signaling you to get off the stage. "I'm sorry guys, we really have to go" you said as you heard the fans complaining and a bunch of sad nos being yelled from different areas of the arena. "You were great London!" you spoke into the mic, waving and smiling at them "Thank you so much!" you blew some kisses in all directions "This was amazing!" you waved one final time before getting off the stage. "Wow" you exhaled deeply as you got backstage. "That was crazy" Christian laughed, his eyes wide, displaying his disbelief. Martha grinned enthusiastically. "I know" you sighed, shaking your head, still incredulous. "Yeah, we were so good right?" you asked the group, looking up at them, just to realize they weren't paying attention. Their eyes were fixated on a spot behind you. “Guys?” you tried getting their attention “You were amazing” You frowned and turned behind you. Your heart stopped and your mouth involuntarily slaked open as you realized who had just talked. Joseph Quinn was standing in front of you. The real, amazingly hot, subject of your 3-year-long obsession was very much there, casually smiling at you. Oh fuck. He laughed softly at your reaction "Your friend invited me here" he said nodding towards Martha. Oh, you were so gonna kill her. "O-Oh, she did ?" you turned to her with a deadly stare and she replied with a huge smile, mouthing "you're welcome". "Well, I wish we could stay and chat, but, unfortunately, I and Christian have to go" Martha said, obviously feigning sorriness. "We do?" Christian asked confused. "Yes," Martha grabbed his arm"We do." she insisted, dragging him away. "She's-"Joseph tried to find the right words. "Yeah, she's... something" you laughed softly, as he did the same. There was an awkward moment of silence. "I saw your live yesterday" he broke the silence. You widened your eyes and swallowed thickly "Y-You did?" He chuckled "I did" You felt your cheeks turn red. "And to be honest" he winced "I also saw all of the other times you've talked about me" You were about to throw up. "Oh my god, this is so embarrassing. I'm so, so sorry" you started panicky apologizing. "No no no" he laughed "You don't need to apologize" "If anything I should be" he smiled "the first time I heard you had talked about me I thought you were joking because, I mean," he gestured generally at you "you're SO out of my league" he mumbled. "But then it happened again and I wanted to text you, I really did, but then I chickened out and I kept doing so until, yesterday your friend dm'd me, and so finally" he smiled shyly "here we are". You were in shock. Your brain was buzzing and you were pretty sure your mouth was still open. "W-what?" you stuttered He chuckled and licked his lips "Would you want to get a drink with me?" he asked You blinked,incredulos. Was this a dream? "I-I-, yes!" you almost screamed. "yes, absolutely" you continued, trying to tame down your excitement. he smiled wide "Awsome!" You cleared your throat, you were still in shock "J-just give me ten minutes to change, and-and I'll be all yours" you managed to stutter out. "ok, great. I'll be waiting" he said, smiling happily. "great" you said awkwardly, starting to walk towards your dressing room. Just as you did a thought came to mind. You turned abruptly towards him and he looked confusedly at you. "Out of YOUR league?" you spat out incredulously, making him burst out laughing "Yeah" he sighed. "wow" you mumbled to yourself as you turned back "just-wow"

Sampo Koski x Reader tickle fic
Summary: You're a wildfire member who was assigned to keep an eye on Sampo, but things don't seem to go your way because he just keeps getting in trouble...Thankfully, he knows how to get your forgiveness.
---------
"C'mon! You can't still be mad at me!!" Sampo whined, trying to get you to face him. Your arms were crossed firmly over your chest as you stood there angrily, trying your best to turn your nose at his pleas. He circled around you like a cat rubbing against your legs for your attention, but you made it a point to ignore him. He had messed up once again, and you weren't in the mood to baby him anymore. Right now, you two were standing in front of the clinic. Natasha had given you a good long lecture about how you were supposed to keep an eye on the man, and yet he still managed to get himself in trouble with some newfound scam.
She was right, you did promise to keep him in check, because, let's face it, you clearly had a soft spot for him. But now, you were reaching your limit. Not only did you have to rescue him from the angry Silvermane guards, you ALSO had gotten yourself injured while doing so. It wasn't anything major, Nat fixed you up fast, but it was just enough to really get on your nerves. This isn't the first time Sampo broke promises, and you knew it wouldn't be the last. While you were mulling over your angry thoughts, the cause of your irritation ended up straight in front of you, a sheepish but sly smile on his face.
"At least look at me? Pleaseeee!" He pressed on, with that same begging tone. Although this was slightly amusing, you didn't budge, turning away from him once again. A feeling of helplessness lingered in your chest. He's clearly not taking this seriously, as usual.
"No. I AM still mad at you. You realize that you broke your promise, again?! What did we agree to? No more scams! And you just HAD to get caught, too." You huffed, pinching the bridge of your nose. "It's like you're trying to get me in trouble on purpose..."
Sampo let out an anxious chuckle and rubbed the back of his neck. He was truly feeling remorseful now, despite the fact that looking at your pouty expression brought him great delight.
"You know I didn't mean to, friend! Business is business, and wherever there is business, there is Sampo! Will you forgive me, just this once?"
Seeing you shake your head no made his smile falter. Did he really mess up that bad? At first, when a wildfire member was paired up with him to "keep him in check", he didn't take any of it seriously, and took every opportunity he had to tease you and make your life a little more annoying. But you always stuck around, always! So he assumed you didn't mind. You were always there to get him out of trouble, you took the blame so that he could avoid Natasha's lectures, you jumped into battle fearlessly to defend him. He stood in silence for a second, and felt a bitter feeling sink in his stomach. You've been nothing but kind to him, and he took it all for granted. That look on your face wasn't fake annoyance, it was genuine sadness. His smile dropped completely as that realization dawned on him.
Hesitantly, he placed a hand on your shoulder to get your attention.
"Heyy, friend...Listen, I'm sorry okay? I really am! I pinky promise I won't do it again, just don't be all sad about it!" Sampo attempted to negotiate. He really wasn't great at dealing with other people's feelings, but he couldn't just run away while you were clearly so upset. He didn't really know why he cared so much, but his heart told him he needed to make you smile again. The only reply he got from you was a tired sigh. One thing was good though, you weren't leaving. You kept standing with your back towards him, meaning you were still willing to hear him out.
After a moment, an idea popped into his head. He wasn't sure if it would work, or earn him a punch in the face, but he was willing to gamble.
"Friend? Friend-o? Darling? Sweet cheeks?" He mused, trying to get your attention with the silly nicknames, suppressing a chuckle when he saw you visibly cringe.
"I know you can hear me...And I'm sorry, I really really am! Do you accept my apology?"
Silence from your end. Welp, now he has a reason to put that idea of his to work.
"Ignoring me, huh? Well, fine then, I have another way of getting your attention~"
You raised a brow and slightly turned your head to try and see what he was doing. Suddenly, to your dismay, you felt him grab both your sides and squeeze, causing you to tense and squirm slightly.
"Wh- H-hey! What do you think you're doing??"
You could tell he was pulling his signature shit-eating grin just from his voice.
"Not ignoring me anymore, huh? How strange! Are you perhaps a little ticklish, friend? How fortunate! Maybe I can convince you to forgive me now!" He teased and your stomach dropped. So this is what he was planning. You weren't going down without a fight, holding in your laughter until he moved his hands over to your stomach, managing to dart one of them under your shirt to scribble at the warm flesh underneath. The squeal that came out of your mouth was like music to Sampo's ears.
"EEP! WH-WAHAHAIT! GEHET YOUR HAND OUTTA THEHEHRE! SAMPO!"
Boy was he glad to be behind you right now, because you were desperately trying to wrench yourself out of his hold, attempting to grasp at his midriff in retaliation. If you had managed to tickle him back, it would've been over for him.
Thankfully though, he was keeping you in place and the ticklish sensation was messing with your coordination anyway. All the squirming made you press yourself against his chest, which gave him more possibilities to use his hands freely without having to hold you in place.
"I'll stop as soon as you say you forgive me!" Sampo teased, vibrating his fingers into your belly. The simple but extremely tickly motion made you double over in hysterics. Since when were you so sensitive?!
"KYAHAHA- S-STAHAP! NAHAHA-" Your words were all jumbled, tangled in a string of bubbly laughs. Refusing to give up, your hands found Sampo's wrists and you finally managed to grab them, slowing down the tickling significantly. You were about to celebrate until he maneuvered around you, somehow grabbing both your wrists with one hand and successfully pinning you against a wall. Oh how thankful you were that no one was around, because the position you two were in was extremely embarrassing (and flustering...)
"Still don't forgive me?"
That smug asshole...
"...N-no." You replied, panting. You were thankful for the break but being in such a position with Sampo made your heart race and your cheeks flush. How much longer was he going to keep this up?!
"Alrighty then!"
This time, instead of digging right in, his free hand rested on your side as he observed your reaction with a grin. You simply stared at him nervously, trying to figure out his next move. He was clearly getting a kick out of this...
Using two fingers, he started to "walk" his hand higher and higher across your side, dangerously nearing your underarms.
Oh fuck.
"W-wait! Sampo- PLEASE- I- I forgive you! Just anywhere but thehere!"
"Aww, look at you thrashing around! So, your underarms are a bad spot huh? I just have to find out how bad it is! It would be unfair to just stop here right?"
Unfair to who, exactly?! As his hand neared your most ticklish spot, you were desperately squirming around as much as you could, giggling in anticipation and nearly screeching when Sampo would pretend to tickle you. Finally, you watched with bated breath as his hand hovered right over your underarm menacingly.
"WAIT WAIT WAIT- I- I'll do anything I sweahahar just don't!"
"Anything? Like what?"
Was he really still teasing you right now?! Your thoughts raced as you tried to think of a bargain.
"Uhh...I'll turn a blind eye to your shenanigans for three days!"
"Tempting, but could be better."
With a shrug, he brought his hand down and quickly spidered his fingers along your underarm, sending you into hysterics. Tears of mirth filled your eyes as you laughed louder than ever, with a few squeals and screeches here and there that made Sampo laugh just as much. You couldn't even muster the strength to get mad at him because it tickled so bad! When he suddenly switched to just scritching at your underarm with one finger, you thought it would be better, but boy were you wrong. The slow tickling was driving you up the wall and your legs gave out, making Sampo have to use his strength to keep you up.
"GYAHAHA PLEAHAHASE! TH- THIHIS ISN'T FAHAHAIR! I C-CAHAHAN'T!"
"How come you never shared this little weakness of yours with me, huh? I've never seen you laugh that much before." Sampo noted before finally stopping his assault on your poor underarm. You were a blushy, panting mess and Sampo guided you to sit on the stairs leading up to the clinic before sitting down next to you.
"Hah...y-you...guh..."
"Still trying to threaten me after all that? Maybe I didn't tickle you enough..." He thought out loud, wiggling his fingers at you. Your eyes widened and you pushed him away as he laughed. After catching your breath, you finally managed to speak properly.
"You better count your days before I get you back for this..."
"But~ You forgive me, right?"
"...Yes Sampo, I forgive you."

I don’t like you, Mason Mount | Chapter 7
Previous chapter | Next chapter
Masterlist
Tumblr media
"Excuse me, can you help me with... Daniela?"
"Mason?" I say, the books on my arms almost falling to the floor. "What are you doing here?"
"What are you doing here?"
"I work here. I thought I had told you about it."
"Yes, you did. But you didn’t say where exactly."
"Oh, so my sister didn’t tell you about it when she also told you about our holidays?"
"I'm sorry about that."
"Whatever" I say. After confessing all my feelings for Mason and crying my eyes out, Monica also confessed that she had told him about Portugal and the restaurant, that she had convinced him to take his family there. Us bumping into each other, hadn't been a coincidence. She had planned it all, and look how it ended.
"I promise this has been just a coincidence. I was doing a Nike event at their shop, and my agent told me there was a bookshop close by."
"So that's why all those teenage girls were queueing when I arrived earlier. They were there for you."
"Yeah" he smiles, that dimple of his showing and making me feel something on my stomach. Something I hadn't felt for the past six months. But no. That's not it. I’m over him and this is just that I am hungry. I didn't eat much for breakfast, and that's what I'm feeling. Nothing else. "So, can you help me find some books or not?"
"I guess I can" I sigh, putting the ones I was holding back where they belong. "What do you need?"
"Something for my nephew and my nieces. They are all coming over for Christmas."
"How old were they? I know you told me but I can’t remember."
"Six, five and four."
"What do they like?"
"The three of them are obsessed with dinosaurs for some reason. Anything Disney too. And they love painting, they could be entertained with that for hours."
"Ok, follow me."
"How long have you been working here?" Mason asks while we move through the shop.
"A couple of years."
"And do you like it?"
"I do, yes. I've always loved books, and for years I said I wanted to open my own bookshop with maybe a coffee shop and some cats."
"You never mentioned it when we talked. Only that you loved cats" he chuckles.
"I am a cat lady, yes. Is there a problem with that?" I say, giving him a book.
"No, not all. It actually fits you. Liking cats, I mean. You are like them."
"What do you mean?"
"Well... They look all soft on the outside but can bite, and you are the opposite. You look like you can bite, but are a softie on the inside. And then you also have some issues trusting people when you first meet them, but if someone manages to get through all that and earn your trust, you happen to be the loveliest person. There will be moments when you will pull out your claws to defend yourself because that's just who you are, but when you love someone, you do it unconditionally."
"That's... That's..." That's true. That's me. He's gotten it right. How can he know me so well?
"Lost your words? Maybe because I'm right?" he asks with a cheeky smile.
"No, I have not lost them. And no, you aren't right."
"The colour of your face says otherwise."
"Do you want me to call one of my coworkers to help you with this? I think there is a girl who happens to like you, God knows why."
"There is no need, I'll behave."
"You better" I say, putting two more books on his arms.
"More?" he asks.
"Oh, c'mon Mount. They are for your family and you have the money to pay for them. Better waste it on this that on whatever you are wearing right now."
"Oh, I had missed hearing you say that you hate my clothes" he laughs.
"Your girlfriend doesn't do it?"
"She doesn't" he says, his smile disappearing from his face.
"Well, it was expected. She's dating you, you have to be blind to do it."
"Yeah" he murmurs.
"Everything ok?"
"Yes, don't worry. More books?"
"More books" I say, moving to another bookcase, but still thinking about how his face changed when I mentioned his girlfriend.
━━━━━━❃━━━━━━
"They are gonna love them. Thank you very much, Daniela."
"Just doing my job" I say while I finish wrapping the last book.
"How is your family doing? I haven't asked."
"Good, good. Same as always. Though I think Lola has a new crush."
"She doesn't like me anymore?"
"She still does, but I think she currently likes your bff a lot more. And I don't blame her, he's hot."
"My bff? Do you mean Dec?"
"Yep."
"Oh, wow. The betrayal. From both of you."
"Sorry" I shrug. "But can I... Can I ask you a favour?"
"Wait, wait, wait. You... Are asking me... A favour? It's a Christmas miracle!" he laughs.
"Shut up, Mount. It's for Lola, not me."
"Ok, I'm listening."
"I've been looking for tickets for your Boxing Day game everywhere because it is against West Ham, but they are expensive as hell. Could you..."
"Get you some?" he asks with a stupid grin.
"Yes."
"I can. But on one condition."
"What" I say, rolling my eyes.
"You have to come to the game. Maybe wear my shirt if you still have it."
"I still have it."
"You do?"
"Yeah. It's somewhere at the back of my wardrobe, but I still have it."
"Great. Then you have to come to the game and wear it."
"Is it necessary?"
"It is. Do we have a deal?" he says, offering me his hand.
"I guess we do" I say, shaking it and feeling goosebumps all over my arm. But I'm getting goosebumps because I'm cold. Someone opened the door, and this reaction is because the cold came in. Nothing else.
"I'll text you when I get them."
"You still have my number?" I ask. "I thought that after what happened at the restaurant..."
"I tried do delete it more than once, but... I don't know" he shrugs. "I just couldn't do it. What about you?"
"Uh?"
"Do you still have my number."
"I do" I confess. I've also tried to delete it a few times, but I haven't been able to. There was something stopping me.
"Mason, it's time to go" a man says behind him.
"Yes, yes. Thank you very much for your help, I'll keep you updated about the tickets."
"Thank you" I say.
"Merry Christmas, Daniela."
"Merry Christmas, Mason."

How would it be like to adopt Yuumi and Book headcanons!
Tumblr media
Yuumi is my main and I absolutely love her so I have to write some headcanons about this fluffy magical cat as a self indulgent treat!
It goes like this: a sunny afternoon, some delicious tea, good conversation and magical portal opening up right on top of your dessert
Yuumi and Book quite literally fell from the sky on your lap
A talking cat would probably surprised anyone around, and Yuumi would try to flee if she wasn't concerned about having accidently wet book when she desperately shriked and clawed at the perspective of falling in a cup of tea
After a while and some time to calm down, Yuumi (who's a little too easy in trusting people) would tell you literally everything about her little life and journey while you hurriedly try to take the talking cat away from the streets and many curious eyes
But it absolutely doesn't take long for her to win over your heart (I mean... look at her)
Book wouldn't trust you too much in the beginning 'cause it's clearly the brain in their duo, but after seeing how well you treat them both it would losen up
How you take Yuumi seriously and talk to her and doesn't take her for a useless being as many people do, and if you offer yourself to clean Book (using a clean gloves paintbrush to brush off dust and dirt), he'd tell Yuumi you're nearly as awesome as Master
Yuumi would be very vocal about what she likes and deslikes in your house, and don't think that being a magical talking cat would stop her from breaking pots she doesn't like
She'd go "I'm sorry... it was an accident!" Every single time
She would also give out every unsolicited opinion about the decoration
"I really think you should put one of those huuuge cat trees here by the table. You know, for decoration!"
Sometimes Yuumi and Book would simply fall from a portal in your living room with 4 differente colored Poros saying they're currently her friends and you must give them shelter!!!
The Poros seemed confused
Yuumi can be a little unnerving at times, duo to her difficulty in understanding serious situations
So if you're going through work related stress or family issues, she's not really going to realize she should hold back on her non-stop babbling
But she would know to climb into your lap purring and convince you to take a power nap
"C'mon, it's for my 5th nap! It's very important and you should come with me and nap too! You'll feel better!"
Oh, Yuumi would also ask you to read some of book's pages to her, since she quite literally never read it... only looked at the pictures
And Book would refuse to be handled which turns out to be the best, because it would float there in front of you while you just lay in bed petting a nearly asleep Yuumi
Also they'd be your true defenders, knight in shining armor kinda friends. No matter what happens Yuumi would ALWAYS be ready to go "lion" mode on anyone for you!
She might be a tiny cat but she is a magical one with a magical Book, and she'll make that very clear to anyone who dares hurt your feelings!
You know one day Yuumi would find her Master (because she convinced you the yordle is alive, and now you truly believe it) and leave, and that is saddening
But still you know you made friends for your whole life, and knowing that Yuumi chooses to stay and come back over and over again while her mission isn't over, is already a sign of the loyalty they both have for you

✶ minecraft bee killer! ; watanabe haruto.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
synopsis. after playing minecraft with your boyfriend, haruto, you find a bee hive near your newly made home. choosing to keep it as a pet, you find haruto kill the bee in an attempt to tame it... much to your horror.
info. fluff, angst. watanabe haruto x gn!reader [ they / them prns ]. 1.7k words.
warnings. crying, established relationship, grammatical and structural errors, lowercase and small text intended., not proofread, sorry for errors!
Tumblr media
you loved haruto's room. it was comforting and full of things he loved which is why you were there, laying comfortably on his bed as if it were your own.
he spins his chair around to look at you and was met with the most adorable view he's ever laid eyes on.
there you are, clutching his big ruru plushie, face squished against it as you fiddle with your phone. he quickly grabs his phone, snapping a photo here and there, completely unknown to you.
"cute", he mutters under his breath, arms on either side of the gaming chair's arm rests. you pop your head up, eyes drawn to your lover, "did you say something?" you ask, watching the smile on his face grow wider.
he shakes his head, "what are you doing?" he questions, standing up from the chair and making his way to the bed.
"minecraft," you answer seriously causing another chuckle to fall past his lips. "what's so funny, ruto?" you ask, lips pursed as you keep yourself from laughing along.
"nothing, nothing!" he says, hands in the air as to show you that he wasn't judging. "do you wanna play with me?" you ask him, voice muffled as you buried your face into his plushie once more.
he nods quickly, "we can build a house together!" he says nonchalantly, but the blush was evident on his face. "i'd like that."
so here you are, two hours later, just now building your house because haruto wanted to watch tutorials on how to make every single thing.
you nag at him to hurry up, as he was falling behind on gathering more wood for the floor.
"c'mon, ruto! you're so slow.." you say with a pout, he rolls his eyes, "hey, i'm going as fast as i can. all i have is a wooden axe!" he defends himself jokingly, shoving his phone in your face to show that indeed he had a wooden axe in his character's inventory.
you glare at him in the most non-threatening way possible, "you're the one who wanted to watch all these tutorials and our house still looks like a oak wood box." you say as if it were the most obvious thing in the world.
he puts his finger up, jaw dropped to say something witty but he drops his hand, mouth closing as he nods in approval.
because he did take two hours and your house most definitely looked exactly as how you described it.
"okay, how about you start the house, and i get more materials? how does that sound, love?" you hum in agreement, attention brought back to your phone.
you both split up and when haruto finally came back from mine stripping, the house looked ten times better than it did when he left.
"woah! you did a great job, sunshine!" he gives you a quick kiss to your forehead, as you wave him off. "thanks, bun. did you find any diamonds?" he shakes his head, "no, just lots of coal and iron" he says.
you kiss his pouted lips, seeing them slowly turn into a soft smile. you both shyly look back at your phones, haruto's attention soon gravitating towards the bee hive on a tree near your beloved house.
he gasps dramatically, "woah, woah, woah!" he almost screams, you look at him with worry. "what happened?" you ask, curiosity getting the better of you.
"when did they add bees to minecraft?" he asks, quite literally baffled, confusion evidently on his face. you laugh at his cute expression, leaning over to kiss the corner of his mouth.
you shrugged, "they got added awhile ago," you began, "cute huh?" you ask.
soon, a thought occurred to you. "what if we had them as our pet?" he cocked his eyebrow, "can you do that?"
you shrugged again, "well you can't exactly tame them like cats and dogs," tapping your chin with your pointer finger and looking away for a second, "but, we can keep them near our base instead of knocking it down!" you excitedly say.
eyes glued back to your phone, your face beaming with happiness but it soon changes to one of horror as you see the bee turn red, flopping on it's side as it dies into a thin puff of air.
haruto looks up at you slowly with wide eyes, watching as your jaw drops. you close your mouth quickly, lip quivering as you look up at him with glossy eyes.
“why did you kill them,” you ask, “i just said that we could leave them there, haruto!”
you were more sad than angry due to the fact that the bee was your first pet. well technically not your first but your first bee pet.
he’s quick to hug you, leading your head to the crook of his neck. one hand running his hand through your hair, the other rubbing in smooth circles on your back.
“i'm so sorry, angel. i wasn’t listening to you and thought you could tame it with a flower!” he stutters with a pout.
he whines, hearing your soft sniffles and burying your head deeper in his neck. “don’t cry, sweetheart.” he urges you.
pulling away from him, you keep your head low, trying to hide your soft smile as he tries everything in his power to stop the tears falling from your eyes. he dips his head down, encouraging you to make eye contact with him.
“hey, i’m really sorry, love. i’ll search for a new bee hive and m-maybe we can find a way to bring it back to our base? i don’t know… what can we do?” he mutters the last part to himself as panic starts to set in when your tears fail to cease.
he removes himself from you, grabbing his phone quickly, typing something, tapping buttons and shoving his phone in your face like he did prior, “here, look.”
grabbing his phone, you see the “thank you for your purchase!” displayed across the screen, scrolling up more and seeing that he’s bought you a minecraft bee set. you look up at him, confusion written all over your face.
he finally gets to see your tear-stained face, it clearly being illuminated by the light from his phone. “ruto, you didn’t need to buy this for me. we could’ve just found another hive!” brows furrowed and a pout present on your face.
he shakes his head, “i’ll buy anything to not see you cry,” he starts, “matter of fact, i’ll do anything to see you happy!” he says sincerely, placing a hand on his heart.
you giggle at his confession, grabbing his hand and kissing the back of it. “are you okay?” he asks, you nod, “you know that buying this had to be the most dramatic thing you’ve ever done.” you quip.
he tilts his head, smirk evident on his face, “says the one who just cried over a non-existing bee."
“watch it, watanabe!”

hiii I was wondering if you could do a threesome w kuroo bokuto and y/n?? plsss💞
i can actually, that’s the fun part.
(I'm going to try to use gender-neutral pronouns, but the reader has female anatomy, I hope that’s ok!)
I deadass just took this and ran with it oml.
All 18+, public sex, circumstantial humiliation, slight voyeurism, orgasm denial, threesome M/F/M, they’re both kind mean but not really, slight degrading
Synopsis: Your college chem class is kicking your ass so when your professor recommends you to Kuroo, who seems to come in a package deal with another owl-ish boy, you were more than thankful.
4/25
You couldn't believe it, you were so sure you had done well on this test. You made flashcards and even scoured the web for as many quizlets on the subject as you possibly could. But one thing remained the same: Masahiro sensei’s chemistry class was kicking your ass.
No matter how many times you looked at the reference tables and started at the elements you didn't understand a single word that came out of that man's mouth. What’s worse is that you seemed to be the only one who ever had trouble in his class, and he always made sure to let you know.
Side glances during lectures, calling you out when he knows you have no clue what the answer could be, talking about how 'some people’ would do better if they tried harder. You just didn't know what else to do.
So, in some twisted way, you were thankful when he requested to keep you a few minutes after class requesting to talk about some personal issues. Issues you wished would include a new grade and easier tests.
But him telling you about a boy with exceptional grades who would be a perfect fit to help you out, was something you had expected, but did not want. You felt more embarrassed than you already were, couldn't he just give you a website where you could watch videos about ionic and binary compounds?
Looking back to the phone number he had written for you on an index card, you relent. Sending a quick message to the number you shut your phone off and tried to get to your dorm, dropping onto your bed faster than you’d like to admit.
Hey, this is y/n l/n, Masahiro-sensei gave me your number for possible tutoring, if you're up for it of course. Any time for me works. 12:56 pm
Yeah, he let me know about a possible tutoring session, how about the library tomorrow at 4? 1:03 pm
I'm Kuroo Tetsurou btw. 1:07 pm
And like that your day got 10x worse, you don't even know who this way. You at least hoped it was the boy with the fluffy hair in the first row. At least Masahio told him, you assume it may have gone worse, tomorrow at the library at 4.
You could deal with that.
--
Your first meeting had gone fairly well. You arrived that the library entrance five minutes early reaching for your phone to let the mysterious Kuroo Tetsurou know that you had arrived, but before you could get that far-
“No need babe, I'm right here, L/n right?”
He was tall, taller than you at least. Tall enough to be able to lock down at you. Looking at you with his narrow hazel eyes and his sleazy yet comforting cat-like smile. His hands were shoved into the pockets of a bright red- volleyball jacket? Nekoma volleyball club must be from high school.
He led you to an isolated corner of the science section on the third floor, a place you had frequented during your mid-semester crying chemistry sessions-- hopefully your tears have dried up by now and you won't make a fool of yourself.
He wasted no time asking exactly what you need help with and seemed more than surprised when you told him everything. He let out a laugh that made you want to get up and run away before letting you know that it was normal to be confused and that you would just start with the electron configurations.
It was going great, he was an amazing teacher and knew exactly what to tell you to make you remember all the rules of the SPDF configurations and everything leading up to the oxidation states of the transition metals. It was just sad that he had to go over everything a second time just for you to get it in your mind.
In the middle of explaining lead’s second oxidation state, Kuroos phone lit up with a notification a Bokuto was calling. Without a second glance, he declined the call and went right to the first state of silver.
Three seconds in this same Bokuto called back after a few choice texts, letting out a sigh he apologized muting about a stupid owl not giving him a moment of rest no matter the time of day.
He picked up and tried to walk away as quick as he could, the only thing you could gain from the conversion was a
HEY HEY! you still at the library? Though you’d be done by now Kuroo!
To which Kuroo told whoever was on the end of the line, that he didn't mind and they should mind their own business. Then you were out of earshot. when he came back he looked as if the life was sucked from his soul.
He plopped into the chair across from you and sat for a second before releasing a deep breath. He looked back at you connecting eyes--they looked impossibly cat-like under the lights of the library-- before shooting you a shifty smirk.
“Babe you're doing great but I've gotta cut it off for today, and you don't mind if a friend joins us for the next few sessions? He isn't that bright.”
It took you of all five seconds to think of your answer, another person who wasn't the brightest will make you look less stupid. Just the thought made you feel bad, you're sure that Bokuto was a wonderful person, hopefully, and did not deserve to be used to make you seem less hopeless. Yet still,
“Yes! That’s totally fine, I'll see you in two days?”
“Sounds great”
--
“‘C'mon babe what's the dashed configuration of bromine?”
You didn't know, or maybe you did. It's not like that would matter considering the two fingers curling into your sweet spot. You could only focus on the way he rubbed your throbbing nub that sent sparks straight beach into your core.
“I-i I don’t- god, please, please, need to cum.” you were so close, Kuroo had already ripped two orgasms from you because you didn't know the answer, and you were going to scream if he did it again. “Please, wanna cum”
“No can do baby Owl, that’s the deal no cumming until you get the question.”
Bokuto.
You would have forgotten he was there if it weren't for his piercing gaze on Kuroo’s fingers drenched in your slick. Not once has it wavered from you, your silt to you tits up to your lips.
You had to try, he’ll stop. Somewhere in the back of your mind you know the answer, they know you know the answer. Somewhere else in your mind you think about how you got caught up in this in the first place.
How Kuroo was frustrated and told you the if you got another wrong answer he would fuck the right one into you. Or bokuto purposely mocking him that sent him further until his hands were pulling your panties down your legs stuffing two fingers in your cunt, saying how he won't stop until you get all the answers right.
“Two- e-eight- eight-teen- please please, si--six- NO seven, it’s seven. ‘M so close please”
Kuroo seemed pleased with your answer, his hands moving quickly around your bud and curling further into your g-spot as Bokuto makes his way around the table to where the two of you are seated.
Pulling the shirt above your head, Bokuto circles a nipple through the fabric of your bra commenting on how quickly it had pebbled, attaching his mouth to your other as Kuroo commanded you to cum around his relentless digits.
Clenching around his fingers you hadn't noticed a head of white and black hair moving towards your center. Coming off the high of your orgasm you felt Bokuto’s tongue spread your lips as his nose circled your clit.
“Oh, dude! You gotta taste ‘em! Like liquid gold, Man!”
You flushed further, if possible, tethering a hand into Bokuto's hair. Understanding the compliment Kuroo swiped a finger along your slick-covered thighs and let a mockingly loud moan fall between his lips.
As if you could be more embarrassed by the noises of Bokuto slurping whatever he could catch in his mouth, Kuroo’s coos of how red you look and how delicious you look, as the man under you eats as if it was his last meal.
Two hands grabbed your waist and lifted you off Bokuto, placing you back on your feet. Turing you toward the wall of windows and hand on your back bent you over the table surrounded by all of your notes.
“Look at that, she’s just gushing all over the place. All this over a chemistry lesson? Who knew I was teaching such a cockwhore this whole time.” a hand met your clit as Kuroo began to push into you, forcing you further into the table.
You heard a gasping moan as he bottomed out, glancing over to where Bokuto sat hand around the base of his cock, standing as Kuroo waved him over to you.
“I think you can fit two, right?”  and just like that bokuto was forcing his way into your clenching walls. There was discomfort until a soft pop to which both the boys let out a sigh.
You feel so full. You didn't know who but one of them was brushing against your cervix. The first thrust came to you as a surprise,  following with a second's rest before the two of them created a steady rhythm.
The faster they went the more apparent it was, they were using you like a fleshlight. You couldn't even speak as a cock hit right at your g-spot. Back arching you let out a series of small “ahs” much to Kuroo’s enjoyment.
“You fucking like this! Getting dicked where everyone can see. By two cocks no less!” he laughed pulling your head up from its place in your arms, making you have to look at your reflection in the glass.
“No-no I-” a smack to your ass stopped you from trying to defend what little dignity you had left. There was no defending as Bokuto leaned towards your ear, never breaking rhythm.
“No?,” he was practically snarling, “Then why the hell are you clenching our dicks so well, Baby Owl?”
As if he flipped a switch your world went dark as you clenched further on the two men as you came. Riding out your orgasm neither of them let up the pace as they jackhammered into your poor pussy.
Bokuto came first, with a loud groan of your name before he slumped into the chair he previously inhabited.  Settling to watch as Kuroo pulled your chest up to meet your back to his chest. Rutting into you as his orgasm rapidly approaches.
If you weren't so sure this place was desolate you would be worried about someone hearing the slaps of your skin, or Kuroo’s final grunt as he filled you with his load, dropping you to lean on the table.
At least your next chemistry test was graded with a 21/25, you’re sure the two of them will love to hear about that.

Meet The Parents | Billy Russo
Tumblr media
Summary: You introduce Billy to your parents and it doesn’t go as well as you hope. [Billy Russo x F!Reader] [Assistant!Reader Trope] [Alternate Timeline - Castle family not mentioned/never happened] [Fluff] [Problematic Parents/Divorced] [Parents Fighting] [Language] [Flirting] [Flashback/Nightmare]
 Word Count: 3.8k
 A/N: This is a follow up to my first fic Little Moments but can be read separately as a stand alone story. I may be doing several in a series with these two.
---
The office is quiet, and has been for the whole day. Billy has been out at a client meeting since you got in. Anvil is becoming quite popular in the private military market, having taken on three new contracts in the last two weeks. You're proud of Billy, he works hard to win over his clients and offer top of the line service. As the primary contact for all contracts and placements, you've gotten busy too. More business means more expenses, and more employees to keep track of. You don't mind, it keeps you active and engaged. There is nothing more you hate than just sitting around staring at the wall or watching cat videos for the billionth time.
"Hey sweetheart."
You glance up from your work and see Billy closing the office door behind him. He's dressed up, black and grey patterned silk shirt, expensive black suit, the tailored jacket over his arm. He looks positively delicious if you do say so. Those shirts are the best thing you ever convinced him to wear.
"Hey yourself. How'd the meeting go?"
"Shitty." He sneers and tosses his jacket on his office chair. He begins unbuttoning the sleeves of his shirt to roll them up to his elbows. "The guy brought his daughter."
"Okay? What does she have to do with anything?"
Billy raises his eyebrows in an 'are you shitting me' expression. "His daughter is a model. Not naturally talented mind you, paid for by her daddy. Clearly he thought havin' her there would sway me into acceptin' the number he offered for the contract you wrote up. Like he's doing me a favor."
You stand and walk around the desk, eyes going up and down his chest. "You didn't do anything did you?"
"What kinda man do you think I am?" Billy walks you back against your desk, pinning you in with his hands on the top behind you. He drops his head to yours and stares at you with those dark endless eyes. "You think I'd fuck around?"
"I know you won't, you're too gone for me." You run your hands up his back and he arches against you. "Did she try?"
"She tried. Even sat on my lap."
"In front of her dad?"
"Mmmhmm." Billy drops his face to your neck and mouths at your skin. "I don't mind a little show and tell but even I got boundaries. Parental peepshows are off limits."
You laugh softly and he brings one hand against your lower back up to pull you against him. "Take it easy. You know the rules. No relationship stuff while I'm on the clock."
He groans, pulling his head back to look at you. "I need to touch you though. I don't want her lingering on me."
"I know." You step out of his hold and he lets his hand drag across your back as you escape his grasp. "Just another hour okay? I've gotta wrap a few things up."
Billy pulls his tie loose and unbuttons the top of his shirt. "Why did I ever make these rules?" He sinks down in his chair and spreads his legs, lolling his head against the back. He really is such a tempting little tease. How could you resist a man like that? Truth be told it's hard.
You take a seat behind your desk and focus your eyes on the invoices on screen. "You made them because you want Anvil to remain professional and not a playground."
"Bullshit."
"Your bullshit."
Billy bites his lip and gives you that look. The one that says he isn't to be messed with, that he's gonna get what he wants no matter what. And oh it's so tempting to get up and go sit on his lap in that chair. It's always been a fantasy of yours. One you haven't gotten to full fill due to his rules. He's really only cockblocking himself.
"C'mere."
"No, Billy."
"C'mon, be bad. Break my rules."
"No! You're such a jerk!" You laugh and he chuckles playfully. "We have dinner with my parents after this anyway. I'm not breaking your rules and getting all messy before we go see my parents. You hear? Parents."
"Always such a good girl."
"You like it."
"Damn right I do." He pushes up out of his chair and crosses the office to cradle your head and press a chaste kiss to your temple. "I'm gonna go home and get ready. Anything you want me to lay out for you? I think you've got a few things at the apartment."
"The blue dress. I picked it up from the cleaners last week with a few suits. It should be in your closet."
"The one I bought you a while back for the client dinner?"
"Yeah."
"Isn't that a little revealing for a parents dinner?"
You raise your eyebrows and he narrows his eyes.
"You're a monster." He presses his lips to your ear. "If you keep teasing me I'll have to put you in your place."
"I guess I'm a glutton for punishment."
"Oh sweetheart, you have no idea what you're askin' for." Billy kisses your cheek and steps away. "Playin' with fire will get you burned."
You smile innocently. "See you later."
"You're terrible." He goes to the door and stops, looking back once more. "But I love you."
"Love you too Billy."
"Ugh," he groans, slapping a hand over his chest. "Say it again."
"Love you?" You giggle and he acts even more dramatic, pretending to swoon against the door. "What are you doing?"
"Being you."
"Wh- you son of a bitch! Get out!" You throw your squishy stress ball at him and he cackles as he runs from the office. What a child.
_____________________
"Oh, this is your boyfriend?" Your mother asks in actual surprise. As if you weren't meant to have a man that looks like Billy Russo. Truth be told you had never dated anyone half as attractive, not to you anyways. "He's so...well dressed."
Billy takes your mom's hand and kisses it politely. "We're all well dressed here ma'am. You look lovely too."
"Thank you." She flushes and giggles.
Billy gives a warm smile and tugs you closer. His hand on your back is radiating heat, its comforting. He knows you're tense. This dinner will be a strain on your nerves and he had been warned how difficult your parents can be.
"Your father should be here soon. I told him not to be late." Mom says huffily, eyeing the doors to the restaurant. You've met up with her outside and you're currently waiting for your dad to arrive. Your parents have been split for ten years and it's been hard, but not as hard as it would have been if they had divorced when you were still a young child. Well, you like to think that anyways. They waited, held on to their shit until you were graduated and old enough to understand that some people don't remain in love.
Billy leans in and presses his lips to your ear. "Are your parents going to fight? This place is very nice, I don't want to cause a scene."
"It'll be fine. They can hold it together for a few hours. I hope. Just don't mention their personal lives. It's a sore spot for mom. Dad isn't single anymore."
"Gotcha."
"Sorry I'm late." You turn and see your dad walking towards you. "Some asshole parked his Rolls Royce just on the line and I hardly squeezed into the only spot open beside it."
Mom scoffs and rolls her eyes. She bites her tongue but you know what she would say. Some comments about his truck being too damn big and a gas guzzler.
Dad puts his hand out for Billy. "You must be the lucky guy!"
Billy takes it and smiles a beautiful, toothy, shit eating grin. "Billy Russo, the asshole who parked his Rolls Royce a bit close to the line."
The way Dad's face turns pale and then red with embarrassment makes the whole evening worthwhile up until then. "That's yours?"
"One hundred percent. Bought and paid for."
"That's a beautiful piece of machinery. Expensive."
Billy leans his head on yours. "I only go for the best."
"Well you know I-"
"Oh shut up already, let's go inside." Mom says and grabs your dad's arm. "Always babbling on about shit when we've got things to do."
"Y'know what-" the conversation fades as your parents head into the restaurant. You're glad. It is bound to be petty anyways. Always was with them. Bickering children they should be called.
"Relax." Billy says in your ear, hand traveling up and down your side. "I can win over your parents for one night."
"You could charm anyone into anything and I've seen as much. You're a silver tongued sn-"
Billy catches your jaw in a light hold and presses a kiss to your lips. Your hand slides up into his hair and he grins into the kiss. "Easy now. We've not even gotten seated yet."
"Your fault."
"Usually is."
____________________
You stare at yourself in the reflection of the bathroom mirror. Dinner wasn't going so great and you had barely made it through an appetizer and drinks.
Your parents couldn't stop arguing, Billy was trying his best to charm them but apparently they're uncharmable, and you were left to play referee for your parents against each other or them against you and Billy.
It is a whole mess and you want to just leave, just walk out say fuck everything and go to Billy's apartment and go to bed. You haven't even had a chance to tease Billy like you were planning, hell, you've barely gotten a word in that wasn't defending him or fielding your parents insults they continuously hurdled over the table at one another.
The door rattles on your left and you clear your throat. "Occupied!" You shout and it stops.
It's a single use bathroom, not a multi-stall type set up. So the person outside would just have to wait until you were done having your crisis. Maybe not so fair to them but you'll be damned if you won't let yourself have a moment.
The handle turns and you back into the sink as the door opens. To your surprise it is Billy, not some worker with a key. "What the-"
"Your parents are insufferable. How the hell did you grow up with them? I mean I was in a group home and a few of the adults weren't great but holy shit they weren't my parents."
"I'm sorry."
Billy closes the door and shakes his head, taking your hands in his. "Don't be sorry for their actions. Never apologize for anyone but yourself."
"I knew this would happen. I just thought that maybe...I don't know...maybe they'd be different. Maybe they'd be proud of me, of you, so they would get along for two fucking hours."
"Sweetheart, you're nearly thirty, you're still seeking your parents approval?"
You laugh joylessly and bite the inside of your cheek. "You don't understand. You can't understand."
Billy brings your forehead to his lips and he rubs your back. He's always so affectionate with you, careful to hold and to love you like a man who never received it himself so he wants to make sure those he loves receives it tenfold.
"I understand seeking approval, but there is nothing you need approval for. You're an adult with a good job, a place to stay, an outstanding boyfriend with his own company. I'd say you're doin' alright honey."
You let out an actual little laugh, and he does too, bumping his nose against yours. "You're so full of yourself."
"You like that?" He bumps again, eyes on yours. "I said it to get you to giggle."
"You know it's a little true."
His lips meet yours in a warm tender kiss. "Confidence is sexy."
"It is."
"I could tell your parents there's a work emergency." He slides his hands over your ass and pulls you flush against him. "A real pain in the ass employee is causin' trouble."
You smile into his lips and he smiles back. "Oh yeah?"
"Mmhmm."
He chuckles softly and cradles your head to his chest. "You can't choose how your family acts. Remember that. It's up to you to decide how you act, and if you want to deal with them."
"I know."
"Do you?" He runs a hand over your hair, tangling his fingers in the strands briefly.. "I know it's different for you, I can distance myself easier since I didn't grow up with proper parents. Maybe I'm cold, or indifferent but-"
"Stop." You dig your fingers into his side and he falls quiet. "Don't compare your childhood to mine. It's not fair. I don't want you to begin resenting me because-"
Billy gives you a look that is all warning and it silences you instantly. "I would never resent you for having parents and growing up like a normal kid should. I ended up in a shit situation and that is no one's fault but my own mother's. She is the only person I will ever resent." He softens, leaning in and kissing your nose. "Do you wanna ditch or go try to make something of this dinner?"
You swallow harshly and look at the door. Ditching would be easy, but the repercussions would be insufferable. Your mom would never stop calling about it, your dad would hold it over your head forever. It would be more of a disaster to leave than it would be to stay. No matter how valid the reason.
"We'll stay. I can try and redirect the conversation."
"That's my girl." He pats your cheek. "Proud of you."
"T-thanks."
Billy takes your hand and interlocks your fingers with his. "I'll take care of it. I can get them to shut up."
"If you can get a word in."
"I have my ways. Don't worry."
You cut him a look as you exit the bathroom and head for the table. "What are you-"
"Don't worry." He presses against your ear and guides you down to sit at the table.
Your parents are still bickering.
"Hey!" Billy says firmly with his hands on the table, not a yell, but enough to get his point across and the attention of your parents but not many others.
"Yes?" Mom asks surprisingly quietly.
Billy smiles and it's all venom, beautiful venom. You know this look, these eyes, that deadly grin. He isn't fucking around and the way he can express that so physically subtly astounds you. "The arguing is going to stop. The petty comments are going to stop. We're going to sit here and have conversations like adults, or you can leave and your daughter and I will have a nice dinner."
"Wh-" Dad starts but doesn't get any further.
"I am not goin' to repeat myself." Billy stands up straight and raises his eyebrows, daring your parents to say another word. The tension is thick, you can hardly breathe. Never did you think you'd have to witness Billy being like this with your parents of all people.
You grab a roll from the basket at the center of the table and pick at it. "How's work been, Dad?"
Dad clears his throat. "Good, busy. People always need an electrician for something. I did a school the other day, new classroom."
Billy sits beside you and lays his hand on your leg, thumb stroking your skin gently. He leans in and whispers "I told you don't worry." He turns his attention back to your parents. "So you're an electrician? Contractor?"
"Yeah, I work for Mundun Electric. Union job, pays well."
"And you?" Billy looks to your mom.
"I'm a medical receptionist. Clarke Center Hospital."
Billy smiles. "That's incredible. You're both hardworking people it seems, I see where she gets her work ethic. She's incredible, the best I've hired for Anvil."
You chew your lip and look down, flushed. "You're just being nice."
"I'm serious." He holds your hand up and kisses your knuckles. "I admire your dedication and the hard work you've put into making Anvil a success. Without you, I don't know where I'd be. Probably buried in paperwork."
"So you work for Billy? That's how you met?" Mom asks and you nod.
Dad raises his eyebrows.
"Dad, don't start."
Billy cuts a glare at your dad. "Don't start what?"
"Nothing." Dad says nonchalantly, eyes going to somewhere else in the room. "I just think inter-workplace relationships are never a good idea."
You squeeze Billy's hand and he just smiles oh so sweetly. "Dad, it's fine. Billy and I are both professionals. If things don't work out we'll make it work for the sake of the company."
"He'll fire you and you'll be looking for a job yet again." Mom pipes up, rolling her eyes. "See, things like this are why you can't hold a career."
"Mom!"
"Alright." Billy says firmly. "We're done here. Ma'am, sir, with all due respect you can both go fuck yourselves."
"Excuse me!?" Dad bellows and your mom looks flustered at the use of language. "You have no right-!"
"Actually I do." Billy stands and guides you to stand with him. "I'm going to love and care about your daughter the way she should be. You two are self absorbed monsters who should have never had a child, let alone forced the one you had to live through a loveless marriage. The fact that you cannot manage to sit here and have dinner with her and myself, which mind you has left quite a first impression, is sad and disappointing."
You grab his hand and you're shaking. You don't even know what to say. It's like Billy is telling them everything you've wanted to for your whole life.
"C'mon sweetheart." He puts his arm around you and guides you out of the restaurant. You know there are people staring but it's fine. It's over now.
"I'm s-"
"Uh uh." Billy puts his finger to your lips. "No apologies. Here." He shrugs his suit jacket off and puts it around your shoulders.
"Thanks."
"You wanna get out of here before your parents come out. Go get some burgers or something?"
You can't help the little smile that tugs at the corner of your mouth. "Pete's Diner?"
"Anywhere you like." He takes your hand and walks you toward the parking area. "Fuck this fancy bullshit anyway. I never understood the food they serve."
"Me neither. A hamburger and fries with a big ole pickle is good enough for me."
Billy opens the passenger door for you. "You're a girl after my heart y'know that?"
"I think I already have it."
He leans in and kisses your forehead. "That's for damn sure."
_____________________
Midnight you wake up crying. A nightmare, a reoccurring one as it would be. Though it is more of a twisted memory than a nightmare in actuality.
You are always around seven or eight years old, it's nighttime, you've been in bed for an hour and still not asleep. Downstairs your parents are awake, their disembodied voices float through the old floors. Their voices grow louder, shouting, screaming at each other. A glass shatters and you crawl under the bed. Footsteps come closer in the hall, heavy and slow.
The dream shifts. You're not a child but an adult. Under the bed is smaller now, the footsteps grow louder. The door opens and you scream when your foot is grabbed and you wake up crying.
"What's wrong?" Billy asks, sitting up in bed abruptly and turning on the light, hand instinctively going for the nightstand where you know a weapon is stored.
You had stayed the night, both of you decided it was best to stay together while you decompress from your tragic meet the parents dinner. Didn't matter in the end though. The nightmare still came.
"Just a bad dream. I'm going to get some water." You push back the blankets and plant your feet on the cold floor. It's a nice shock to the system, reminding you this is reality.
Billy's arm snakes around your waist. "Care to share with the class?"
"It's nothing. Just a nonsense dream about old crap."
"Your parents?"
"Yeah. Um, just a dream." You yawn and pat his hand on top of your stomach. "I need water."
"Grab me a bottle?"
"Sure."
You end up in the kitchen, looking out at the New York skyline. His place is so beautiful. It's luxurious, and you can't get used to it. You lean on the island and sip a bottle of cold water from the fridge. You don't think you belong here.
Then the dream comes creeping back in. Rationally you know that dream is never going to become a reality. Not with Billy around.
"Hey."
You look back to see Billy walking in with his sleep pants low on his hips. He scrubs a hand over his face before meeting you at the island.
"Sorry, I just got caught up in the view."
"It s'okay." His arms wrap around you and he presses his face to your neck. "I love you." He whispers softly into your skin.
"Are you alright?"
"Mmm."
You thread a hand into his hair and scratch at his scalp. It elicits a hum that's nearly a purr against your back. "Do you ever feel like you don't deserve this? Like everyday you can't comprehend that you're loved."
"I didn't think I could fall in love before I met you, yeah. I'm familiar."
"Oh."
"Wasn't expecting that?" He chuckles, flexing his fingers against your tummy.
You shake your head and he kisses along your jaw. "Billy, stop," you giggle as his short beard tickles your skin.
"No way." He starts walking you back away from the island counter and toward the bedroom. "I've got a disease and if I don't kiss you all the time I'll definitely succumb to it."
The two of you tumble onto the bed and he straddles your hips, mouthing at your neck and chest relentlessly.
"It's three in the morning. We need to go back to sleep."
Billy hums and settles on top of you, nose in your hair. "Sleep is for the weak."
"Then I'm weak." You trail a hand up his back, fingers flitting over his shoulder blade. His skin is so soft, so warm. "Thank you by the way."
"For what?"
"Being here when I had a nightmare."
"Of course." Billy pets your hair, stroking it down against the pillow. "I've suffered my share of them alone. I'm glad you were here so you weren't."
"Me too."
"Go to sleep." He kisses your cheek and rolls off to the side. His arm curls around you and pulls you close. "Love you."
"Love you too."

Pairing: 40's!Bucky Barnes x Reader
Words: 3000+
Author's Note: I finally got an idea for 40's Bucky and I'm so happy with how this came out. This man is plaguing my brain and I'm so okay with it. I hope you guys enjoy and let me know what you think. 🥰
"I wish you didn't have to leave," you whisper to the tall brunette, your eyes glued to Bucky's hand that's resting on your lap.
Bucky hums in response and grabs your hand, lacing your fingers together before gently squeezing. "I wish I didn't have to leave either. I never wanted this life," he mumbles and you frown as your thumb gently strokes the back of his hand. "I mean, what are you and Steve going to do without me? I won't be here to protect you."
Your heart flutters at his words, always loving the caring side of him. A side only you and Steve knew about. Bucky's a bit of a player, always has been since he was in high school. He's the most gorgeous man you've ever seen, and you happen to be hopelessly in love with him.
"Steve and I can try to take care of ourselves. My older brother has been teaching me how to defend myself. I've got some skill now," you wink and earn a chuckle from the twenty-six-year-old.
"Yeah, but the thing is you shouldn't have to. You're a woman for God's sake. No man should be treating you the way you've been treated," Bucky argues and you nod your head slightly, agreeing with him. "If I could take you with me, I would. I'd keep you safe, doll."
Your cheeks flush at the compliments pouring from his lips, looking away from the brunette. "Bucky…" you trail off and your eyes meet his blue ones, seeing an emotion you've hardly seen in them before.
"Can I just-" he cuts himself off to lean in closer, feeling his nose brush against yours. "Just this once."
You clear your throat as Bucky moves his hand down your sides and rests on your hips. Your eyes flutter shut as you feel his lips grazing against yours, your breath catching in your throat. "Kiss me," you whisper and Bucky immediately captures your lips with his.
You're wrapping your arms around his neck, running your hands through his hair as you kiss him back feverishly. Butterflies swirl around your stomach as Bucky pushes you back, laying you against the cushions of your couch.
He hovers over you as his fingertips graze along the length of your neck. Bucky pulls away from you, both of you breathing heavily as your faces are still close. "Now, I definitely don't want to leave," Bucky sighs while resting his forehead against yours.
Your heart pounds against your chest and hums in reply, combing your fingers through his hair. "That's- Jesus," you stumble over your words, causing your best friend to laugh.
"Cat got your tongue, doll?" He smirks and you roll your eyes playfully as Bucky sits back up.
Before you can say anything your front door opens, both of you glancing towards it to see Steve walking into the place. His blue eyes dance between you and Bucky, an inquisitive look on his face.
"Everything okay?" Steve asks while moving to sit in one of the recliners. You and Bucky nod your head simultaneously, eyes glancing at one another's for a quick second.
"Yeah, just gonna miss you guys," Bucky states as his hand squeezes yours.
-
You couldn't believe the Peggy Carter wants to recruit you for her medic team. You've heard a lot about her through your letters from Steve and from various people you've talked to on the streets of Brooklyn.
One thing you wish is for Bucky to send you something… literally anything. You haven't heard from him in months and you're not going to lie- you're worried about him.
So, here you are, on the frontlines in Germany. You're nervous about being this close to the war, but you'd do almost anything to help your country out. Plus, Peggy mentioned that Steve's going to be here as well.
You jump at the sound of gunfire in the distance, releasing a deep breath as Peggy leads you towards the tent you'll be staying in. "Nervous, Miss L/N?" She asks you and you let out a small chuckle.
"Is it obvious?" You laugh while running a hand through your hair.
Peggy gives you a soft smile and lays a hand on your shoulder. "Don't fret. This is one of the safest camps along the frontlines," she reassures you and you nod your head in response. "So, have you known Steve for long?"
"Oh, since middle school. It's where I met both him and Bucky," you inform her with a smile and her face falls a bit. You notice the look on her face and furrow your eyebrows. "What is it?"
"You should probably know about James," she uses his first name and your heart drops. You swallow the lump in your throat as you nod your head for her to continue. "He was captured by the Nazis about a month ago."
All the air leaves your body, leaving you gasping for breath at the news. You place a hand on her shoulder to keep your body from collapsing. "D-Does Steve know?" You ask in a whisper and Peggy nods in reply. "Is he here now?"
"Yeah, I'll tell him where to find you," she mentions while leading you into the tent you're staying in. Once Peggy leaves your tent you break down, falling to your knees as tears pool in your eyes.
The memory of yours and Bucky's kiss flash through your mind, your heart clenching at the thought of him dead. Your lip trembles and you fully sit on the ground, leaning against your cot before hugging your knees.
He could still be alive… right? You think to yourself as a quiet knock is heard right outside your tent. "Y/N?" Steve's voice softly calls out and you pick your head up.
"Come in," you whisper loud enough for him to hear. A short gasp leaves your lips as Steve walks into your tent. "Steve?"
A chuckle leaves his lips and the blonde nods his head. "It's me, Y/N," he grins and you slowly stand up. "You must have been living under a rock. I've been like this for a few months."
"Wh-What happened? How?" You ask in astonishment while walking closer to him.
You suddenly wrap your arms around his waist, your heart heavy as you can feel the tears coming back. "Super soldier serum. I was the test subject. You knew how much I wanted to help," he explains and you nod your head. "Listen, about Bucky-"
"Is he alive?" You ask, cutting him off and Steve sighs. You rest your forehead against his chest as sobs escape your lips, the image of seeing his dead body plaguing your mind. "I-I never got to tell him about my feelings."
Steve's brows furrow together and rest his hands on your shoulders, pushing you back a bit. "What feelings?" He questions and you sigh while wiping the tears from your face.
"I'm in love with James Buchanan Barnes," you tell him and his blue eyes widen, shock written across his face.
"Since when?!" Steve asks and you let out a chuckle, scratching the back of your neck.
"Probably since high school," you inform him and you're amused that Steve never figured it out, especially since he was around you a lot. You move to sit on your cot, inviting him to sit next to you and he does. "You know the night before Bucky left?"
Steve nods his head, resting his hands on his thighs. "Yeah, you and Bucky were acting strange when I finally made it to your place…" he trails off and you snort, giving him a look. "No way. You two did something?"
A laugh leaves your lips as you lean your chin against the palm of your hand, sighing heavily. "To be fair, we only kissed," you explain to him, gazing at the super-soldier for a few seconds, "but, it was the best kiss I've ever had."
Steve rests a hand on your upper back, rubbing gently. "I'm going to find him. I'm taking our men out tomorrow to find him and everyone else they captured. I'm bringing him home," he tells you, and your eyes well up with tears, nodding your head to what he's saying.
-
"Medic! We've got wounded," someone shouts and your head snaps up before scurrying out of your cot.
You throw on your medic jacket and rush out of your tent, running straight to the med-tent. "Where are they?" You ask one of the other nurses, seeing the empty spaces in front of you.
"Guys from the 107th are bringing them in now," she informs you and you nod your head.
The flap of your tent opens up and about nine people hobble their way inside. You order the men holding them up to place the wounded on the cots as you start examining the one closest to you.
It doesn't take you long to patch the men up and thankfully there's not that much damage on them either. They all thank you and you grin to yourself, absorbing the validation. "Just doing my part," you tell them while patting the shoulder of the last man you attend to.
Steve walks into the tent and your eyes dance towards him. "There's something you need to see," he mumbles, and your heart pounds against your chest.
"I can't if he's…" you trail off and Steve shakes his head. A smile comes to the blonde's lips and you let out a small sob, stumbling towards him. "He's- he's alive?!"
"C'mon," he motions for you to follow and you glance towards the nurse, a pleading look in your eyes.
The brunette laughs and nods her head. "Go see whoever it is you need to see," she grins and you thank you quietly before running after Steve.
You fiddle with your fingers as your friend leads you towards Bucky’s tent. "Does he know I'm here?" You ask him and Steve shakes his head.
A deep breath leaves your lips as he stops you from going in. You look up at the six-foot man and he tells you to wait a minute. You nod your head and watch as Steve walks into the tent, hearing him tell Bucky that he's got a surprise for him.
"Come on in, Y/N," Steve calls out and Bucky's head snaps up at the sound of your name.
No way. There just happens to be another woman here with that name. It's not- Bucky's thoughts get cut off as he watches you walk into the tent, a nervous look on your face.
"Bucky," you breathe out and the twenty-six-year-old stands up from his cot before rushing towards you.
Tears come to your eyes as he wraps his arms around your shoulders, hugging you tightly. "Holy shit, you're-"
"I'm here," you whisper and wrap your arms around his waist, gripping his shirt tightly. "I'm so glad you're okay."
Bucky glances towards Steve and the blonde nods his head before leaving the two of you alone. You pull away from your best friend, sniffling as you bring your hand up to his face.
His blue eyes look you over as he feels your thumb gently strokes his cheek. "What are you doing here?" Bucky whispers and you giggle softly.
"Peggy recruited me to help out," you tell him and Bucky leans into your touch before kissing the palm of your hand.
Your heart flutters in your chest, smiling softly at the man before resting your head on his chest. Bucky wraps his arms around you once more as the two of you stand in silence.
-
"Oh come on. Come with me," you beg Peggy, not wanting to go into a bar filled with men by yourself. "It'll make me feel much safer, at least until I reach Steve and Bucky."
You run your hands over the black material, your dress looking very similar to Peggy's except hers is red. "Fine," she sighs and stands up from her seat, her eyes meeting yours. "I have to talk to Steve anyway."
"Oh?" You question with a slight tease in your voice, nudging her shoulder with yours. "We happen to fancy a certain blonde hair, blue-eyed man?"
Peggy scoffs and shakes her head, clutching her purse. "Absolutely not. Howard has new equipment for him to try," she informs you and you chuckle in response. "Are you finally going to tell James about your feelings?"
Your chuckle dies off at her words and you clear your throat, gliding your fingertips along the smooth dress. "I- Don't know what you're talking about," you tell her, and she gives you a knowing smirk as the two of you get closer to the bar.
"Oh, come on, Y/N. Steve blurted out that you're in love with the man, and it's not that hard to figure out," Peggy teases you now and you scoff, crossing your arms over your chest.
"I don't know. Maybe I'll have enough liquid courage to tell him. We'll see how it plays out," you mention and she nods her head, glad that you'll attempt to reveal your feelings.
The singing in the bar dies down as the Howling Commandos spot the two of you. Your cheeks flush at all the attention and tuck some hair behind your ear as you follow Peggy. "Miss L/N, you look fantastic," one of the men comments and you thank him quietly.
You notice both Bucky and Steve lean back in their chairs as the bar suddenly becomes silent, the two men standing up when you and Peggy approach them. "Captain," Peggy greets Steve and you smile, knowing that the two have some sort of unspoken thing happening.
"Agent Carter," Steve nods, and your eyes move to Bucky, who's currently checking her out and your heart clenches in your chest.
Well… you move around them and head towards the bar, ordering yourself a drink. "I see your top squad is prepping for duty," Peggy tells Steve.
Bucky grins and shoves his hands into his pockets. "You don't like music?" He asks. The bartender places your drink down in front of you and you thank him politely before paying.
"I do, actually," she says, not looking away from Steve for even a second. "I might even, when all of this is over, go dancing."
"Then what are we waiting for?" Bucky flirts and you roll your eyes before taking a large gulp of your drink, already wanting to leave.
So much for him feeling the same way, huh? You think to yourself as you hear Peggy tell him that she's waiting for the right partner. She bids them goodbye before giving you a wave. You nod your head as the two men watch her walk away before Bucky turns to face Steve.
"I'm invisible. I'm turning into you, it's like a horrible dream," he laughs and moves to sit back down in his spot.
Steve claps him on the shoulder as his eyes meet yours. "Maybe she has a friend," he mentions and tilts his head in your direction.
Bucky's eyes find yours as you sit on the barstool, fiddling with the glass in your hands. The brunette finishes the drink he has before glancing towards Steve. "How long has she been sitting there?" He asks and Steve frowns a bit.
"She came in with Peggy," he informs him and Bucky begins to feel a bit guilty for not noticing you.
"Shit," he whispers and watches you order another drink. "I'll see you later."
Steve pats Bucky on the back once more with a smile on his lips. "Go get 'er, tiger," he laughs causing Bucky to roll his eyes.
You smile at the bartender and go to pay him for the drink when someone lays a five-dollar bill on the table. "This one's on me," Bucky says, causing you to look up at the man. "Hey."
"Hi," you mumble as he sits down beside you.
"I'm… I'm sorry," Bucky apologizes immediately and you furrow your brows, wondering what he's apologizing for. "I should've noticed you with Agent Carter, but I didn't. I'm sorry."
A slight scoff leaves your lips and you shake your head, taking a sip of the Brandy. "It's fine, Bucky. You can do whatever you want," you tell him and Bucky frowns before taking your hand in his.
"The night before I left," he starts and your eyes glance towards his blue ones, feeling his thumb stroke the back of your hand, "when I asked to kiss you. Do you know why I did it?"
You swallow thickly as you think about it, wanting to assume it's because he liked you. "Because that chick left you at that car show? I assumed it was because you're lonely," you mumble, your heart breaking at the expression on Bucky's face.
"I kissed you because I didn't know if I was ever going to see you again. I kissed you because I wanted to know what it'd feel like in case I died over here. It was the best kiss of my life," he mumbles and your heart begins to pound against your chest.
"But, I'm here," you whisper to him and Bucky smiles softly, squeezing your hand.
He nods his head and scoots his chair closer to yours, his leg brushing against yours. "You are. Although, I don't like that you're this close to the enemy I'm really glad you're here," Bucky mumbles as the distance between your faces begins to diminish.
Your breath hitches in your throat as Bucky's lips meet yours. You place your hand on his neck as his rests on your hips. Wolf whistles echo off the walls, causing the two of you to pull apart. You look over Bucky's shoulder to see Steve and the rest of the Howling Commandos standing there with grins on their faces.
"We seem to have an audience," you giggle and Bucky looks over his shoulder before sighing.
"Do you wanna get out of here?" He asks you and you nod your head.
Bucky laces his fingers with yours before leading you out of the bar, ignoring the cheers coming from his fellow soldiers. You press your face against his arm as the two of you walk together, his thumb rubbing against the back of your hand.
"I love you, James," you blurt out and Bucky looks down at you, squeezing your hand.
"I love you too, Y/N."

Ghost of The Past
Michael myers x reader (Ending 1)
Tumblr media
Summary: Halloween always brings back memories from your child hood, turns out memories aren't the only thing coming back
Warning: swearing, this ending involves lots of death and murder
So this has just been sitting in my drafts cause its kinda bad but its been so long since i posted writing so here
~~~~~~
"Michael!? Where'd ya go!?" You yelled into the open door, you huffed after a few seconds and pulled up the skirt of your princess costume to make your journey up the house steps easier.
 "Michale come on! All the good candy is gonna be gone if we do go nooww!" You whined stomping your foot, now yelling up the staircase for your friend. Suddenly there was a scream from upstairs, it startled you for a moment.
"Judy!? Michale!?" You quickly ran up the stairs to investigate. Stopping at the top of the stairs when you found him standing in the door frame of his sisters bedroom with a kitchen knife dripping with a dark red liquid.
"M...m...mich...michale!?" You stuttered nervously, stumbling backward away from him slightly.
"This isn't a fun...fun game anymore...tell judy to stop it....Stop it michael!" He slowly moved twoard you before slashing at you. you yellped just barely dodging the blade, it caught the sleve of your costume ripping it. "MICHAEL!" he slashed at you again you slid and fell down the stairs face first. "Y/n!? Oh my god!" You looked up seeing mister and misses myers running up the drive way through the still open door.
Miss Myers scooped you off the floor holding you close checking you for injury and clearing your tears. "Michael what have you done!?"
You sat up in bed quickly trying to shake the memory. It was dark now, the only light coming from the tv filling the room with dim blue light.
The phone rang,pulling you from your half sleep filled brain. "Roofus, scram!" You shooed the cat away from the table the phone sat on and answered it. "Bout damn time."
"Hello to you too PJ." You said sarcastically.
"Yea yea hello, good evening,all that crap listen throw on some clothes that slightly resembles a costume and be ready in the next half hour we've got a party to go to!"
You rolled your eyes.
"No thank you, I don't do that shit remember?"
"C'mon!!! Just one halloween party, I promise you one hour and we can leave and I dunno do whatever boring thing you want to do."
"I appreciate the offer but no thanks."
"Ugh Fine, can you at least switch with Jamie? Shes watching her neighbors kids tonight and she would much rather go."
You sighed. "Sure whatever."
"You're the best, listen I'll be there in like 20 to come get you and make the switch be ready!"
Rolling your eyes again you hung up the phone.
Briefely catching what the news was saying about an escaped mental patient before shutting it iff and going up to change.
Carefully walking up the stairs so that you didnt trip in the dark your sock stuck to something wet and sticky at the top.
"Oh god! ROOFUS how many times Have I told you! To take your kill...out..side…" you trailed off when you looked up at your bedroom door to see the said cat dead and pinned to the door.
It's blood dripping down the door and pooling below it.
"Oh fuck!" You yelped, slipping back onto the floor.
You scooted back slightly hitting something that wasn't the wall.
You let out a frightened whimper and slowly turned to see what you had hit.
You looked up to see a white faced mask starting down at you. You let out a scream and scrambled back almost slipping down the stairs but the masked stranger caught your ankle.
"No stop! Get off of me!" He slid you across the floor away from the stairs, dragging you through the blood. Nervous and fearful tears spilled down your face as he did so. He was about to reach down and grab you but you kicked him back giving yourself the advantage to stand up and run down the hall.
The kick only phased the man momentarily, maybe for a second at the least because he had stood to his full height again and was wedging himself in the doorway of the room you were attempting to lock yourself in.
"Go away!" You screamed pushing your back against the door to attempt and stop him. "Please leave me alone!" He stuck a hand in trying to gain leverage but couldn't reach anything.
Finally he  pushed his way through the door sending you across the room, you hit your head on the end of the bed post but crawled over to your parents nightstand grabbing the letter opener that sat there and holding it up in an attempt to defend yourself.
The man stood towering over you tilting his head in amusement and curiosity at you.
"What do you want!?"
He gave no answer, only stared. Your sobbing racked through your body as you shakily held up the small weapon.  "Please go away!" You said losing your edge.
He approached you slowly causing you to stumble back into the nightstand, tipping the lamp over.
He grabbed both your wrists and lifted you up off the ground. "No,no,no! Let me go!"
You thrashed and kicked in his hold accidently losing the letter opener.
Despite your struggling he stayed grounded and barely moved, still only tilting his head at you.
He seemed to get annoyed with you and released one of your wrists but still held you up by the other. His now free hand reached out and grabbed your face stopping it from moving and forcing you to look at him.
Your cries were muffled as he pinched your cheeks together and your hair, slick with blood covered your face as well.
He made an almost Displeased sound and set you down firmly but still held your arm tightly, grounding you almost so you couldn't escape, it didn't matter you were too scared too anyways. His hand released your face and moved to swipe away the hair, then gingerly brushed against the bloody bruise on your forehead. You hissed in pain and pulled back.
That upset him, because he grunted and tightened his grip on your arm, you clenched your jaw in pain but refrained from doing anything else in case it upset him further and he broke it.
His fingers trailed from your head injury down your face and rubbed away a few tears.
You allowed it to happen because, what else were you to do? But your eyes looked everywhere but him. Suddenly you felt him pull you closer and wrap his arms around you in a hug of sorts.
It wasn't very comfortable, he was too strong for something like this and dumbly unaware of it because you almost couldn't breath.
You felt him shuffle with you still pinned against him.
He adjusted so that he was sitting on the bed and you were in his lap. You gulped slightly once he finally freed you from the hug now he simply just stared at you and pet your hair.
"W….who...who are...who are you?" You shakily stuttered out, your eyes glancing up at him before quickly turning to look out the window.
The man gave no reply but simply cupped your cheek before taking one of your hands and placing it on his masked cheek.
"Do...do...you want me to take it o..off?.." He nodded slightly and you did so ever so carefully, Gasping a little when you saw his face.
"Michale?" You drew back slightly causing him to grab your waist and pull you closer.
"How...wh…" Your head was spinning more than before as you looked at him.
His face was rouged and stern looking but the moonlight that came through the window gave it a softer look.
"I'm...I'm sorry." You offered as your hand traced the scar across his eye. "I didn't...know….you scared me!" His head leaned into your touch the same way a cat would when you pet it. You felt a smile form at the corner of your mouth as he did so.
It must've felt nice, to have human touch after so long of being locked away.
"Yo! Y/n!?" The loud booming voice and knock on the door startled him causing him to grab your hand and rip it away from his face.
You glanced out the window seeing some of Pj's friends parked outside they banged in the door. "Y/n!? Pj sent us over here! Where are you!?"
You screamed as he tossed you off of him angrily.
"Michale, no! Stop!" He pulled a shiny butcher knife from the back of his jump suit and held it tightly.
"Michale please!please don't do this!" You got up and ran as he swiped at you, only making it a foot out the door before he grabbed you, covering your mouth and muffling your scream and he plunged the knife into you.
You fell back into his arms looking up at him, you choked on the air and looked up at him.
He scooped you up and placed you on the bed, you reached your hand up to his face one last time and kissed his cheek. You wheezed as he pulled the knife from you, he stood beside the bed watching you bleed out. "Goodbye Michael..." Feeling every part of you grow heavy, and darkness consumed your vision. The last thing you could see was him placing the mask back on before everything was completely black.
Hi! For the one shot request, would love to see something with animals - saw a very cute prompt when I googled ideas (I have so little creativity which is why I read so much!) where one of them works at an animal shelter and the other comes in to pet the cats when they are sad. Maybe something along those lines? Thanks so much for considering! ❤️❤️❤️
Ahh I'm so, so glad you sent in this request! I had a lot of fun writing it, honestly.
Growing Felines
"I'm not going to make it in today, it seems," Shisui said over the line. "The snow's just too thick, and my car won't start." Oh, Sakura could not believe this. She'd struggled to make it here through all of the snow, and now she was stuck here alone?
"Damn," she said over the phone. "Kakashi can't make it in today, either." Sakura wasn't a fan of working alone at the shelter, but it seemed she had no choice today. Her coworkers, Shisui and Kakashi, were stuck at home in the snow, and Sakura was the only one who'd managed to make it to the shelter for the day. Curse her managerial position! With the weather outside getting worse, she felt she would be staying overnight with the animals to make sure it didn't get any worse. They tended to get upset when the weather turned sour like this.
"You gonna be okay there by yourself?" Shisui asked, a hint of concern in his voice.
"Yeah, yeah, I'll be fine. Maybe one of the volunteers will make it in, so I won't be on my own all day." Part of her was hoping that she might see that one volunteer today… There was one boy that always came in. Sasuke Uchiha. He was quiet, withdrawn, and rarely talked, but Sakura noticed when he was with the cats, he seemed to smile a lot. She'd never asked why he came so often, but he was one of their most active volunteers. He never seemed to have much to say, though.
"Hmm… maybe." Sakura frowned at the tone in his voice. "Well, good luck, Haruno!" With that, Shisui hung up the phone, leaving Sakura wondering just what crazy idea Shisui had. She knew Sasuke and Shisui were related, but… no, it couldn't be that. Could it?
Shaking the thought off, she went to do a headcount of all of the cats, making notes as to which kennels needed a bit of cleaning and the conditions of the cats that they'd noticed were ill. Most of them were doing much better, and there weren't any that had severe conditions that would need immediate veterinary attention. Hana lived not too far from the shelter, but if Sakura could avoid having to drag Dr. Inuzuka out into the snow for anything, she would. They'd just have to make do with phone consultations if they had any questions.
---------------------------------------------
Sasuke hated the snow.
He hated it because it reminded him of that day. After all, he'd been stuck there for days and days. The memories plagued him for years. A snowstorm where no police could get out, and a poor, tormented little boy stuck there with his murdered parents because no one could get out there to help him. Sure, years of therapy had made him better than previously, but days like today were days that he wanted to be out of the house and distracted.
Even despite the terrible weather.
Thus, he made a point to bundle up well and make his way to his truck, thankful it had four-wheel drive that could carve through the snow with ease. He'd just go for a drive around the city, pick up a few things, and come back. No other plans. Why bother with them? He would've preferred not to talk to anyone today anyway.
As if on cue, while he was sitting in the driver's seat waiting for his truck to warm up a little more, his phone rang. He pulled it out, frowning at the caller ID. What the hell would Shisui want today? Shisui was one of the few people who knew what today was, and yet he was calling? He should have known the kind of mood Sasuke would be in. Sighing, he opened the phone and held it to his ear.
"What?" He asked, clearly grumpy.
"Ouch, don't bite my head off, cous'," Shisui defended over the other line. "I just wanted to ask you something. Just a little personal favour, if you could." A personal favour? Today? Well, in all fairness, Sasuke was one of the only people who had a vehicle that could traverse through weather like this.
"What do you want?" He wasn't going to give Shisui an answer just yet. He'd hear him out, at the very least.
"Look, you know how garbage my car is in this weather. I'm stuck at home, and so is Kakashi, according to her. Sakura's at the shelter all by herself. Could ya check on her, maybe?" Wait… Sakura. That was the girl that worked at the shelter with him. Sasuke bit his lip, contemplating. Sakura was tough… she could handle things there on her own, probably.
"Sasuke~" Shisui's teasing voice rang in his ear. "I know you like her~."
"Shut up," Sasuke bit back. "I told you that in confidence." He hadn't even meant to, but Shisui, annoying as he was, had managed to get it out of him. Now he hadn't stopped teasing him about it. Then again, what wasn't to like? Sakura was cute, she was nice, she was friendly, sweet, warm, welcoming… All traits anyone would like in a girl like that.
"C'mon, Sasuke. At least check on her. You don't have to stay if you don't want to. But I am genuinely worried about her being there all alone." Sasuke drew in a deep breath, closing his eyes and releasing a sigh. Alone. Sakura was alone right now. He couldn't ignore that. What if something happened? What kind of a person would he be if something happened, and he could have done something about it?
"Fine. I'll check in on her. I'll text you. Bye." He wasn't going to listen to anything more Shisui had to say; he'd probably just tease the hell out of him. He turned on the four-wheel drive and kicked it into gear, making his way down the rural roads until he reached the shelter, swearing as he tried to find a place to park. He could see Sakura's car, but by now, the blizzard had covered it in snow; she had no hope of ever making it out of the parking lot. Shisui was right; it was worth coming here to check on Sakura if she was all alone.
Stepping out of his truck, he squinted through the snow to try and make out the door, barely able to see it through the blistering snow. He managed to move forward, checking back occasionally; the moment he couldn't see his truck, he was finally able to see the door, breathing a sigh of relief. He found it was open, struggling to pull it open against the wind and drifts that had practically barricaded it; there was at least a foot-high drift in front of it. He made it in, hearing the door slam behind him as he stared at the pink-haired girl sitting behind one of the computers.
After checking the kennels, Sakura made her way back to the main desk and worked on some paperwork when she saw a shadow outside the door. She shielded her eyes as a mess of black hair, blown around by the snow, covered the boy's face as he struggled to make it through the door. She could feel her heart pounding; who would have dared to come out in this weather? Was it someone… untrustworthy? And here she was, all alone…
He pulled his scarf down, brushing snow off his shoulders and stamping his boots to loosen the snow out of the treads. She was uncertain about his intentions but came around the desk with a concerned expression.
"Are you crazy?" She asked, mouth agape in shock. "The storm's--"
"I could ask you the same thing," Sasuke replied dryly. He unzipped his jacket, glad it was warmer inside. "You're out here all by yourself?" Okay, so maybe he had a point. She was a little crazy to have come out here on a day like today. What made her even consider it? There was no way she was going to make it out of there on her own. Hell, he wasn't even sure his vehicle would make it out of there, but he could deal with that later. He'd figure something out.
"I had to come in! Someone had to look after the cats…" She couldn't have just left them on their own. They could have gone without food or water for days, and she couldn't have that happen. Sasuke could understand that; he was only a volunteer who came to visit the cats when he was lonesome, partly at the behest of his cousin Shisui. As they stood there, the power flickered for a moment, drawing both of their attention.
"Oh, no," Sakura griped, scrambling back to the computer. It had been just a brief flicker, so the backup battery had kicked in, but she needed to get the paperwork done fast. She hit the save button, realizing she probably wouldn't have time to finish it all. At least she was caught up to a certain point; she could do it when there was more power. If the power was flickering, that meant they would lose heat… and she would have to make sure there was extra insulation.
"Look, um… I appreciate that you're here, so… do you think you could help?" Sakura's eyes were pleading. He'd planned to turn around and leave, but he couldn't ignore that look. He'd never been quite this close to her; she was prettier than he remembered. Her skin was fair, and her hair looked soft; her bangs framed her face while she'd pulled the rest up into a high ponytail. She wore red glasses as well; he could swear he'd seen her without them before.
"Sure." He knew they weren't leaving from here, but he wasn't about to say that just yet. She didn't need to know that he'd come out here almost entirely with that intention, nor did she need to know that he'd come in through that door, intending practically the same thing. He made sure to lock the door for them to leave. That way, nobody else could come in through the door unnoticed.
"Okay. We'll carry the blankets up from the basement and start packing them around the windows to keep some of the cold air out. I think there are towels there, too, so we can use those. Then we'll put some of the smaller ones inside the kennels for them to curl up under. After that, we'll make sure their food is good and boil water to keep in thermoses to top it up as the water starts to freeze. Let's see, there are six thermoses, but they're all about two litres each, so…" Sakura started doing some math in her head as they moved down the stairs, whispering to herself under her breath.
Sasuke was listening, but… he was also busy paying attention to her. Standing behind her, he could just faintly smell her shampoo as the hair in her ponytail swayed back and forth with each step. She was… kind of short, too. She had to be almost a foot shorter than he was, maybe a touch less. She also seemed to like the colour red… He could tell by the fact that she always seemed to have something red to complement her outfit. Today, it was her hair tie and her shirt; other days, it was a red headband she wore, and in the summer, he often saw her wearing red sandals or sneakers.
He followed her to the basement, following her directions to grab blankets. They made their way to the singular room that housed all the cat kennels, stuffing blankets and towels against the windows. They then moved to open each kennel individually, carefully stuffing more blankets in and refilling each of the cats' water dishes before closing them in. After that, they were left with a few more blankets as the lights went out on them, the sudden darkness surprising Sakura.
"Sasuke? Hold on-- I have a flashlight," she called, scrambling in the bag that was at her feet. She fumbled with the flashlight; Sasuke could hear where she was and crept toward her in the dark, hoping he might find her before she had to use the flashlight. As she finally found the button and turned it on, Sasuke was nearly right in front of her, causing her to squeal in surprise and jump back, startling a few of the cats.
"Sorry," he reassured, raising his hands. "I didn't mean to startle you." Sakura could feel her heart pounding in her chest, though she breathed a sigh of relief. Unfortunately, she only had one flashlight, though she had quite a few sets of batteries they could use. With the power out, their heat would be out; the building was well insulated, and they'd done extra work, not to mention there was enough food if they were stuck for a day or two--something Sakura made extra sure of during the winter months, given the shelter's location--but hopefully, they'd at least be able to shovel their way out.
"Come on. There's probably enough hot water that we can make some hot cocoa if you like." She led the way out, Sasuke following not far behind her as they found the small kitchenette. Sakura found the hot water, prepping herself a tall mug of cocoa.
"Is there any tea?" Sasuke asked, doing his best to peer into the cupboards in the dim light. "I'm not really a fan of cocoa." More accurately, he didn't like anything sweet.
"Yeah, um, there's some black tea up in the cupboard here, I think." Sakura pulled the tea down and got a mug ready for him, pouring the water over it and putting the lid on for him. She grabbed a couple of packets of honey and a couple of sugar packets for once it had steeped, grabbing a couple of snacks for the both of them as well. She opted for a few things in the fridge likely to perish first; without power, the food in there would go bad first.
They made their way back to the cats' room, stopping by one of the visitation rooms to grab a couple of bean bag chairs to sit on. If they were in the room for the cats, they could at least monitor them in case anything went wrong. Sakura handed him a small bag of chips, giving him a warm smile.
"So… you decided even in the snow to come out and visit the cats?" She was pretty curious about the reasons he'd come out. He heard the question but wasn't sure if he wanted to answer. He chewed his lip, contemplating whether he should tell her the truth or not.
"Yeah… something like that." Sakura found his mysteriousness a bit intriguing. He'd barely said a word to her any time he'd been here, except one or two in greeting or passing. She was often busy with paperwork while he was just there to visit. He spent more time talking to Kakashi and Shisui than anything. This had to be the most he'd ever spoken to her at all.
Sakura set the flashlight between them, facing upward so they could see each other. She was doing her best to read him, but she couldn't get much. Even his facial expressions gave nothing away, but he seemed… awkward. The way he spoke, it was like he was trying not to admit something. It intrigued her. She wanted to know more about him. That, and… she might have thought he was a little attractive.
Okay… a lot attractive.
"...Shisui called me," Sasuke admitted. "He said you were here alone, and… that he'd like it if I could check on you." He sipped at his tea, pleased with how it had steeped; he preferred it black and unsweetened. "I have a pretty big truck, so I was the only one able to make it out here before the snow got bad." So much for that now. His truck was probably half-buried, too. He was glad for the darkness in the room; Sakura couldn't tell that his cheeks had tinted a faint pink colour.
"You came all the way out here just to check on me, then?" Sakura felt her face heat up, at a loss for words. He nodded, which left her speechless; he looked away out of embarrassment, making her heart beat a little faster.
"Oh, wow," she commented, internally scolding herself. Talk about a lame response! "So, um… I'm guessing your truck is probably stuck now, isn't it?" Sakura reached for one of the blankets, wrapping it around herself as she shivered. She could notice the difference when the heat wasn't blowing from the vents. It was still more than warm enough, but she missed the warmth.
"Yeah. It's stuck." He didn't have to see it to know it. "So I'm… just as stuck here as you are." He didn't mind it. She seemed like good company, if nothing else. Shisui had probably planned for this. Shisui seemed to like to play matchmaker once in a while.
Sakura laughed awkwardly. "Well, um… I guess it's a good thing this wasn't like, a date or something." Oh, she was just digging herself deeper and deeper, it seemed. If Sasuke hadn't been so good at maintaining his composure, he might have choked on his tea at that statement. A date? Yeah, it… would be a pretty lame date. Wasn't it kind of like one, in a sense?
"Mm… I wouldn't really know." He sipped his tea. "So… Sakura, what do you do other than… work here?"
"Oh, not much, honestly. I live with my friend Ino, who's going to school to be a fashion designer, so I tend to, um… end up having to model whatever designs she has a lot of the time. She pays me a little for that, and I get a lot of free clothing out of it." Sasuke saw her shiver and reached for two more blankets, wrapping one of the smaller ones around himself then throwing the larger one over her before wrapping one half over himself.
"It's warmer if we're both under it." He was a little chilled, but he wasn't about to admit it. Looking at her… He could imagine her being a model. She was pretty. Very pretty.
"What about you?" Sakura asked, moving a little closer as he'd instructed. It was warmer with both of them under the blanket.
"I… write music." He'd thought about going to school for it, but it was easier to do it from home and do his research. Cheaper, too; he lived on a large acreage he'd purchased with an inheritance from his parents. With the house and the rented farmland, plus the hefty life insurance money he'd spent years living off of, he could spend years living out there. "Not much else. I live alone just down the road from the shelter, actually."
"Oh, really?" That wasn't what she expected. Musicians were always exciting types. "So you just come to visit the cats when you need inspiration?" It made sense to her. Creative types always looked for inspiration in the strangest of ways.
"No." Why did he find it so easy to talk to her? Something about the way she spoke made him want to open up to her. He chewed his lip like he was trying to hold back his words, but it was no use. "I come when… I start to feel like I'm too alone at home."
Sakura suddenly felt sad. "You don't live with anyone there? Not even your parents?" An acreage like that, she would have assumed he still lived with his parents. Maybe not a wife--they were far too young for that--but not even his parents? That seemed odd to her.
Sasuke shook his head. "I… they're not… around." He couldn't open up that much, but by his expression, Sakura figured it out. He didn't have to say anything more. There were one of two options there: either they were dead, or he never spoke to them any longer. She reached up from underneath her blanket, reaching underneath his and gently rubbing his shoulder. He looked at her, staring down not at her hand but her face. She was… quite close. She'd been the one who brought up a date. Was she… possibly interested in him? Had she said something to Shisui at some point?
Sakura saw the change in his demeanour, heart thumping in her chest. They were close, faces almost inches apart; it was like he was leaning down toward her. She'd heard Ino talk about this kind of feeling, but… she'd never experienced it. Well, they were alone, basically in the dark… What else were they going to do? They couldn’t let the cats out of the kennels, at least not unless they were strictly holding them. At least some of the cats were able to visit one another across their enclosures.
He was so close to her, his face only inches from hers. He could see her eyes in the dim light; green eyes were the rarest colour, and hers sparkled a bright jade colour. He wanted to kiss her, but… was it appropriate? Should he? No, maybe not yet. This was the first time they were really having a conversation. He wanted to know her better first.
“So…” he cleared his throat and moved back a bit. “You live with your best friend, you said? Anyone… else you spend time with?” He felt it was too tacky to ask her if she had a boyfriend or girlfriend. Sakura was a little miffed he moved away, but she’d just have to deal with it.
“Oh, no, not really. Well, there are a couple of girls we hang out with as a group, but… not anyone otherwise. No boyfriend, either. What about you?” She was a little oblivious to his prying.
“Mm… I have a friend, Naruto, but we haven’t talked in a while.” Wait, Naruto… why did Sakura recognize that name?
“Hold on. You mean Naruto Uzumaki?” It couldn’t be the same one, could it? Sakura remembered him. Ino had dated him at one point, in the last few years of high school.
“Yeah, Naruto Uzumaki.” Sasuke rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. “We, um… we were foster brothers for a while until I moved away in high school. I haven’t seen him since.” Naruto had been annoying, but they’d looked out for each other at least. He’d yet to try and reach out,m. “Then there’s also Karin, Suigetsu, and Jugo.” Wait… Karin. Karin was a girl’s name. His girlfriend, maybe?
“Oh, so… is Karin your..?” Why did her heart drop at that idea? Him being taken was… a sad thought.
“No. Ex, actually. High school.” He hadn’t been as invested in that relationship as Karin had. He’d felt it was unfair to her and broken things off, though he knew she still pined for him. She seemed never to let him forget it. One day she’d have to, but for now, he could ignore her.
“Oh, I see.” That was a relief. An ex she could handle. Just as she opened her mouth to ask another question, a loud crash came from outside in the hall. It sounded like it came from the supply room, but Sakura wasn’t sure. Had someone broken in? Worry crept up in her spine as the flashlight started to flicker.
“What was that?” She whispered, instinctively huddling a little closer to him. He looked out toward the door, frowning and unconsciously moving closer to her as well.
“I don’t know. Do you have extra batteries for the flashlight?” He reached for her bag, digging through it in an attempt to find them before the flashlight died.
“Yeah, um, inside the pocket there.” She helped to hold the light for him, unscrewing the back and pulling out the old batteries. He took the flashlight and inserted the fresh ones, breathing a sigh of relief as the light flicked back on without issues. He stood up, turning to Sakura for a moment.
“I’ll go check it out. Wait here.” He was about to take a step before Sakura stood, shaking her head.
“Can I come with you?” It wasn’t an offer but rather a question. “I— I don’t want to sit here alone.” She was sure the cats would be fine, but it would be a problem and a half if someone had broken in. Sasuke hesitated before reaching for her hand, grasping it and nodding.
They made their way out into the dark hall, Sakura sticking close to him as they worked their way to the storage room. Once they opened the door, they were hit with a blast of cool air, and from what Sasuke could see, it looked like one of the windows had cracked. Something had hit the side of the building—a tree, it seemed—and a part of one of the branches had cracked the glass.
“Just a broken window, but not too badly. Is there some tape here?” He rooted around for something, anything; duct tape would work best. Sakura found a toll and handed it to him, giving her the flashlight so he could reach up and tape the glass. It would be enough to hold until a technician could adequately repair the window. Sakura shivered in the cold as he worked, wishing it wasn’t so chilly. He was done quickly, grabbing a few boxes to put them in front to help insulate.
“Come on. Let’s head back.” He could tell she was cold; he made a point to snag a couple more of the blankets to wrap them both in. Once they were back in the kennel room, he wrapped her in one blanket, then wrapped two of them around them both, keeping her closer for warmth. It wasn’t cold in the shelter yet, nor was it likely to get too cold, but it was better that they stay warm than try to warm up.
“Here. Stay close.” He could feel his cheeks burning with embarrassment. “We’ll, um… we’ll stay warmer if we share body heat.” That sounded creepy, but how the hell else was he supposed to put it? He kept an arm around Sakura, making sure she was close to him. Sakura could feel herself nodding and agreeing, leaning against him and glad for the warmth he provided.
“Thank you,” she said, her lips forming a small smile. “I-I mean, not just for this right now, but I mean… for coming out when Shisui asked. I probably wouldn’t have gone to investigate that window if that happened while I was on my own.” She was thankful he’d come. It meant she had someone to talk to, someone who could hold a conversation. Talking to cats was fine for a little while, but they didn’t make for too many intellectually stimulating conversations.
“Yeah,” he responded softly, shifting so he was more comfortable. He was pretty comfortably warm; a nap would have been pretty nice right about now. Maybe that wasn’t such a bad idea. What else were they going to do as the storm raged on outside? Well… there was at least one thing he wanted to confess, but… maybe not yet. Maybe after the storm was over, he could ask to spend more time with her. That wouldn't hurt, would it?
Hours passed as they chatted idly, listening to the cats and hoping the storm would slow down soon. There… wasn't much to talk about. Sakura did most of the talking, chattering away for a lot of it, and while he contributed, he preferred to listen. He liked the sound of her voice. It was something he could get used to hearing.
"Sasuke?" She asked, drawing him out of his thoughts. She'd asked a question, but he'd been too busy thinking about her to listen to what she'd asked.
"Hm?" He tilted his head to the side curiously.
"I… I know we should stay close for warmth, but… Are you tired at all? I thought maybe the bean bag chairs, we could, you know, lay them out kind of like a bed? A nap wouldn't hurt." Oh. A nap. Now that she mentioned it, he realized he felt a little tired. It probably had something to do with sitting in the dark for so long; the room had stayed warm, and while they could hear a few of the cats padding around and mewling, most of them seemed to have gone to sleep. They understood they were in a safe, warm environment, especially with Sasuke and Sakura sitting there with them.
"Oh. Yeah. We can." He stood up and lifted the more oversized blanket off himself, wrapping Sakura in it. He dropped the one he was wrapped in to the floor, grasping the bean bags and thinking about it logically. If they laid them primarily flat, and one of them--probably Sakura, since she was lighter--laid down on them first, they could be adjusted to form a comfortable bed. He pulled them together and instructed Sakura to lay down, and she did so; once she was comfortable, he settled in beside her, reaching for the flashlight to keep it close. They'd turned it off a few hours ago to save the battery, preferring to listen to each other talk.
"Hey… Sakura?" Sasuke at least wanted to ask her one thing before they fell asleep.
"Mmm?" He could tell she was sleepy, and he wondered if she'd even remember what he was about to ask.
"I was wondering." Wondering was putting it mildly. "You… mentioned you didn't have a boyfriend, and I know this isn't an ideal situation, but…" He bit his lip, trying to squelch the nervous feelings that were creeping up. "Do you think maybe… you'd want to do something a little more appropriate after?" He grumbled. That sounded… not right. "Another time, I mean." That sounded better.
Sakura was too sleepy to hear his entire statement, but she caught parts of it. He wanted to hang out again after the storm let up? It sounded like a great idea to her. She couldn't put her finger on why he was asking if she had a boyfriend, though. Why did that matter? She was too tired to comprehend what he was asking entirely.
"Mm… sure. That sounds like fun." Her voice was quiet, notably half asleep. Sasuke was relieved to hear that. He suspected she might not have got the entire question, but it was enough. Even if it was platonic… He would like to spend more time with her. Why not? She was fun, energetic, animated, and could carry a conversation all by herself, and didn't seem bothered that he contributed little.
Hours passed, the storm raging on outside as they both slept, only being unceremoniously awakened as the lights in the shelter came to life all at once, nearly blinding them out of sleep. Oh, that was unpleasant as hell! The sound of the furnace going again caused them both to sit up, rubbing their eyes and trying to open them. Sasuke felt that usual grumpiness coming on; he hated being woken up when he wasn't ready to get up. His gaze turned to Sakura, who was sitting up on one of the bean bag chairs, rubbing her eyes and trying to straighten her hair. Cute, he thought to himself, rubbing a hand over his face.
"Looks like the power's back." That meant they should be able to leave.
"What time is it?" Sakura's phone had died overnight, so she had no way to contact anyone. Sasuke checked his, seeing the time. It was about six in the morning, but the shelter had notably cooled.
"It's about six," he confirmed, putting his phone into low battery mode. "Come on. We can probably get out of here now. With the power back, the cats will be fine." That was one bonus about their furry friends: they were more equipped to deal with the elements than their human caretakers, even in a cooler environment. It was still dark outside, but at least they'd be able to head home and get some proper sleep.
"Oh, well, that works. Let's top up what the cats have for food and water for the day, and we can head out… assuming we're able to even get out of here." She was pretty sure her car was snowed in; she'd parked right up against the building in the hopes that she might be able to avoid her vehicle being buried. That didn't seem likely. How silly of her to have done such a thing.
They changed the water and litter boxes in each kennel, then refilled the cats' food bowls before doing another double-check around the place. With everything seemingly in place, Sakura grabbed her keys and jacket, putting away the blankets and bean bag chairs before meeting Sasuke in the entryway.
"Okay. Let's see…" She opened the door, unsurprised by the pile of snow that was in front of it; it had to be almost up to her knees. Peering out, they could see that the storm had lightened considerably; it was still snowing, but it was more of steady snow than a blizzard. Her car was up against the building with snow piled up almost to the windows; the drifts had blown up against it, making it look worse than it was. Sasuke's truck was parked further up, and with its raised wheels, it had been spared the brunt of most of the drifts, though it was still going to be a challenge to get out.
"I… don't think we're getting my car out," she admitted. "Well… If you want to head home, that's fine. I can wait here and shovel my car out once the snow stops, or I can call Ino to come to get me." It was better than nothing.
"Don't be ridiculous," Sasuke scolded. "I'll drive you home. It's fine. The roads probably aren't cleared yet, but that shouldn't be a problem." He pulled out his keys, indicating for Sakura to lock up the shelter before trudging through the snow. He made sure to walk ahead of her, doing his best to flatten the snow so the drifts would be easier for her to traverse. He looked at his truck, then at her… Ah, with the way his truck was lifted and the fact that he hadn't put steps on his truck yet...
He followed her around to the passenger side, opening the door for her. "Just stand there," he instructed, and she did as he said. Damn, she was practically going to have to crawl into his truck; it was so high up, and she couldn't even reach the handle at the top to pull herself up into it. Without warning, she felt hands on her waist, causing her cheeks to flush as Sasuke lifted her high enough to reach the handle.
"I, um-- I-I got it," she stammered, holding on for dear life as she swung into the seat. He closed the door behind her before coming around to the driver's side to start the truck. Well… Days like today were why he had a vehicle like this; on an acreage, a tiny little car wouldn't do. He needed to be able to get down his driveway through crappy snowstorms. The truck flared to life, and he immediately put it in four-wheel drive, carefully wedging himself out of the snowdrifts. They took it slow down the road, Sasuke following Sakura's directions back into the city and to her house.
The streets were deserted. Vehicles could be seen abandoned along the freeway, along which they crawled at about a quarter of the speed. They made it to one of the smaller residential areas to a little townhouse; one vehicle could be seen parked out front, and there appeared to be a space where a second was usually parked. He pulled in front of the small driveway, putting the truck in park before hopping out and around to the passenger side to help Sakura out. Once she was safely on the ground, he looked down at her, taking a deep breath. This was his last chance to be direct.
"Sakura?" He asked, reaching a hand up to rub the back of his neck. Sakura could see just how nervous he was; he seemed… awkward, in a sense.
"Hm? What is it?" She was genuinely curious. He'd been too kind to her yesterday, coming to check on her; she could at least hear out whatever it was he had to ask.
"I was wondering… Would you maybe like to go on… a proper date, another time?" He knew that what they'd done wasn't exactly a date, but it was close enough, right? His offer shell-shocked Sakura; that was not what she'd been expecting. A date… a proper date. He wanted to go on one? And with… her, nonetheless? Had she been totally out of it all night? Well… now that she thought about it, there was that one time where she was pretty sure he was about to kiss her, but he'd backed off.
"Oh, um… I think I'd like that," she admitted, her posture turning shy as she looked away. She knew she was blushing, but she couldn't help it; he had an air of aloof mystery surrounding him, and she wanted to learn more. She wanted to know more about him specifically.
"Great. I'll… I'll call you." He had her contact number from a pamphlet he'd been given when he'd signed up as a volunteer; he could get it from there. There was one last thing he wanted to do, too. Stepping forward, he raised a gloved hand, stopping before taking off his glove to touch her face. Her cheek was warm and soft, fitting gently into his palm. Sakura felt herself freeze at the gesture, glancing at his hand before looking up into his face.
Sasuke leaned down, gently pressing his lips against hers. He kept the kiss brief and chaste, but… Damn, he'd wanted to do that since yesterday. Running a thumb over her cheek, he smiled and stepped back, bidding her farewell. Sakura waved and hurried inside, doing her best not to slip on the ice patches she was sure were hidden under the fresh snow. Once he saw she was inside, Sasuke put his truck into gear and drove off, and for once… he was driving with a smile on his face.
Sakura stepped in the door to the townhouse and was met by her blonde friend standing in front of her like a mother about to scold a child.
"Oh, you have some explaining to do, Forehead. A lot of explaining. And I want it to start with hot stuff out there who just kissed you in the driveway."
In Real Life
(Connor x Reader)
A/N: this is inspired by the demi lovato song of the same title that I randomly remembered from when i was a kid that i totally didn't discover from a hetalia fic 👁️👄👁️
——————————————
Gavin Reed. He was an..... interesting character. Most people thought he was a trouble making asshole, and they weren't exactly wrong. He liked to pick fights, mostly with androids, and he held this arrogant air around him. But that didn't mean he wasn't capable of kindness, how to have a fun time, and believe it or not he was actually kind of funny. You supposed that was why you started to like him.
At first you only agreed to go on a date with him so he'd leave you alone. But one date turned into two. Then three. Then, before you knew it you found yourself living with him, and carrying the title of his 'girlfriend'. Honestly, you didn't really hate that idea.
He was kind enough, and funny enough, he was just enough to cure your crippling case of loneliness. So you let yourself fall for him. After all, there weren't really any other options for you at the moment. At least, not that you were aware of. But unbeknownst to you, a certain android had a budding crush on you.
You had been dating Gavin for a couple of months and things were....okay. Not bad, but not ideal either. You just chalked it up to your hopeless romantic nature expecting too much of him, and unrealistic. So, you settled with the mediocre relationship. It wasn't like he was abusive in any way. He had just been growing more and more distant, to say the least.
You wouldn't really ever go on fun dates out anymore. Unless you counted the weekends you would follow him to a bar. Where he would get shitfaced which then you would have to drag him to your shared apartment before he started a fight with someone. But those nights were hardly romantic. The only remotely romantic element being him managing to convince you to sleep with him.
Most days, he would stay home to hang out for no more than a couple of hours. But then he'd be off doing god knows what for the rest of the night. He'd rarely even be there when you woke up either. He would always just say it was because he had work he needed to do.
You brushed never questioned him about all the excuses, telling yourself that he was a detective. He must have been needed quite a lot. Or maybe he even just wanted his own time. That was fine. He was allowed to want his alone time. So you put up with it, even though it was causing little cracks in your heart every time. You ignored the voice in the back of your head that told you that you deserved more than this. A certain someone would have to agree.
Tonight was one of those nights. You were laying in your bed, and Gavin was getting dressed and ready to leave. You held back the urge to sigh as you watched him, a hint of sadness in your (e/c) eyes. Sitting up slightly, you cleared your throat. You already knew the answer to what you were about to ask, but it was worth a shot.
"So, when are you gunna be home?" you asked, a hopeful tinge to your voice.
"Dunno, probably not til late. I got work, but I'll let you know," he said as he shrugged on his jacket.
"Okay..." you replied quietly.
"I gotta go, cya later," he said, stopping at your bedroom door, sparing you a quick glance over his shoulder.
"Okay, bye," you waved, offering him a small smile.
With that, he was gone once again. When you heard the front door shut you let out a long sigh. You layed back down and stared up at the ceiling, letting your mind wonder. After a few moments the buzzing of your phone caught your attention. You rolled over onto your side and grabbed it, turning it on and punching in your passcode. You opened the messages app and a smile appeared on your face when you read the text.
NEW MESSAGE
Connor: Hello, (Y/n). How are you doing this evening? :)
You couldn't help but chuckle at the little smiley face. You taught him how to make the basic emote faces and you thought it was adorable every time he used one. Almost immediately, you typed up your reply.
(Y/n): Hey Con! I'm ok, you?
Connor was your best friend. Ever since he first waltzed into the prescinct you found him intriguing. The thing thing that brought you two together at first was because you defended him from Gavin, and anyone else who bullied the poor android. You really didn't understand why they were all so mean to him.
You thought the detective android was amazing in every single way. Not only was his detective work unmatched, but he was also such a sweetheart, and honestly so unintentionally hilarious, not to mention he was very attractive. You'd be lying if you said you hadn't imagined what it would be like to date him. He would honestly be the perfect boyfriend. But you doubted he'd think of you in a romantic way.
Connor had only become a deviant not too long ago. So trying to flirt with him would feel wrong anyways. But being friends with him was something you could do. You always knew he was so much more than a machine on a mission. When he came to you to tell you he had become deviant you immediately pulled him into a hug, much like Hank did. Little did you know that your hug would awaken feelings in him for you he never knew were possible, yet felt as if they'd always been there.
NEW MESSAGE
Connor: I'm doing good. May I ask why you're just okay? Is something wrong?
His concern made you feel all warm and fuzzy inside. A feeling that you were supposed to feel from your boyfriend. Your previous smile dropped as you stared at the question on the screen. You trusted Connor with your life but you didn't know if you should tell him what was bothering you. With a soft sigh, you typed up your response.
(Y/n): No no I'm fine. It's just one of those days y'know?
(Y/n): But I really appreciate your concern :)
You felt bad for lying to him, but it wasn't like there was anything he could do about your little predicament. You were grateful you didn't have to have this conversation face to face, otherwise he would have most definitely caught you in your lie. Yet even through text, Connor wasn't very convinced but he didn't want to press even further.
NEW MESSAGE
Connor: Oh, ok. Let me know if you need anything (Y/n) and I'll be there. :)
Once again, his message brought a smile to your face, along with that funky feeling in your stomach. Oh how you wished Gavin could make you feel this special.
(Y/n): Thank you Connor :3
NEW MESSAGE
Connor: What is that?
You chuckled softly at the android's endearing cluelessness when it came to texting. God he was adorable.
(Y/n): It's a face! Like a dog or a cat face
NEW MESSAGE
Connor: Oh.
Connor: :3
You couldn't help but giggle at the incoming text.
(Y/n): Cute! :D
NEW MESSAGE
Connor: Anyways, I shouldn't keep you up any further. It's late, you should sleep.
You glanced up to the corner of your phone and saw the time read 1:43 am. He definitely wasn't wrong, and as if on cue your body let out a long yawn.
(Y/n): Yeah you're probably right. Goodnight Connor.
NEW MESSAGE
Connor: Goodnight (Y/n) :3
You chuckled and shook your head as you turned your phone off, placing it over your heart. An absent-minded dreamy sigh fell past your lips and you placed your phone over on your nightstand. You got comfortable in under the covers and fluttered your eyes shut before you slowly drifted off to sleep.
When you woke up at the sound of your alarm, you weren't surprised to find the space beside you empty. No kisses, no breakfast made for you, not even the presence of your boyfriend. You were used to that by now though. It's almost as if you were still single. With a little huff, you got up and started getting ready for work.
You weren't a detective like Gavin, but you did work at the station with him, and with Connor. Almost as soon as you thought about your favorite android, you saw your phone light up in your peripherals. You didn't even need to read who it was from before a smile stretched across your face.
NEW MESSAGE
Connor: Good morning (Y/n). I hope you slept well. I look forward to seeing you.
(Y/n): Thanks Connor, I slept alright. I'm leaving now so I'll see you soon.
NEW MESSAGE
Connor: See you soon (Y/n) :)
With that, you shut your phone off and tucked it away into your purse before leaving the apartment. You locked the door behind you and ledt to go down to your car. The smile Connor's morning texts brought you stayed on your face the whole ride to work. You had a feeling today was going to be a great day.
The hours of the day rolled by seamlessly, and for the most part, your little feeling was right. You didn't have that many reports to fill out and Connor wasn't out on any cases with Hank so you got to talk with him a lot. The only thing that kind of disappointed you was the lack of attention you got from your boyfriend. You tried not to let that get you down, but Connor could sense that you weren't 100%.
It was currently 7:45pm and you were finally ready to head home. After gathering your belongings, you looked around for Gavin. You were a little confused when you couldn't find him, but just assumed he went home before you. Wouldn't be the first time. As your eyes scanned the prescinct, they met a pair of warm chocolate brown ones. Your lips almost immediately curled up into a smile when you recognized who they belonged to.
"Hello, (Y/n). Are you done for the day?" he asked, returning your smile with a lopsided smile of his own.
He had yet to master the whole smiling thing without looking awkward. But it cute nonetheless.
"Yep, you?" you responded, popping the 'p'.
"Yes, Hank is waiting for me in the car," he nodded.
"Then you probably shouldn't keep him waiting before he leaves without you," you chuckled.
"Right," he agreed almost sheepishly.
"C'mon, we can walk out together," you offered with a smile.
Connor's own smile widened and he nodded enthusiastically, "I would like that."
You lead the way to the exit and Connor followed. As you got to the door, Connor quickly stepped ahead of you and opened the door for you. A soft chuckle escaped you and you felt a slight warmth rise up into your cheeks. Something that didn't go unnoticed by the android detective.
"Why thank you kind sir," you said with a grin.
"Of course, my lady/lord," he replied with a cheeky little smile as he exited after you.
As he walked you over to your car, the sudden sound of a car's horn made you jump. You turned your head to Hank's beat up old car.
"Connor, hurry the fuck up or I'm leaving your ass here!" you heard the older man yell from his car.
"Coming Lieutenant!" Connor called after him.
He then turned to you with a soft smile, "Goodnight (Y/n), I'll see you tomorrow."
"Goodnight Connor," you replied with a wave as he jogged over to Hank's car.
You and Connor locked eyes once more before you both got into your seperate vehicles. You swore you felt your heart skip a beat, and as soon as you were in your car you let out a girlish giggle. Today was definitely a great day.
You pulled up in front of the apartment building and parked along the curb. Gavin only had one parking spot and that was reserved for his truck, so you had to park infront of the building. Not that you really minded. Stepping out of the car, you locked it before entering the building. As you rode the elevator up to your floor you wondered if Gavin would be home. Maybe if you were lucky you could watch a movie together and cuddle to wrap up this perfect day.
When you arrived at your door you slid in your key to unlock to door only to find it was already unlocked. Huh that was weird. You just shrugged it off, assuming Gavin just left it unlocked for you. However when you entered the apartment and begun to take your jacket off you paused when your eyes landed on a pair of heels that weren't your own.
You felt your heart drop into your stomach when you heard hushed giggles and moans coming from deeper in the apartment. You dropped your bag by the door and closed it quietly before slowly creeping down the hall. The closer you got to the origin of the noises the louder they got and they were coming from the bedroom. The sound of your heart racing pounded in your ears as you recognized one of the voices to be Gavin's, your supposed boyfriend. The other voice was another woman's, and it didn't take much to put two and two together.
Your feet stopped on your venture forward and you stood frozen like a deer in headlights. The forming of tears stung your eyes and you felt your throat tightening. You could almost hear your heart breaking over the faint voices echoed in your mind. After a few moments of you just standing there, processing what was happening, you turned on your heel and grabbed your bag before slamming the door shut. There was no doubt they would heard that, and you hoped they did.
Hot tears brimmed your eyes and you tried so hard to keep them from spilling as you rushed into the elevator. You didn't want or need to face him or the woman he had cheated on you with. There was nothing he could say that would make it okay. That would stop you from leaving him like you knew you should have a long time ago.
It was only when you got into your car when you finally let the tears that threatened to spill fall down your face. Never before have you felt so stupid in your entire life. So much of you time and love poured into someone who never gave a shit about you. You hit the side of the steering wheel multiple times with a frustrated and hurt groan. After the anger had subsided you leaned your forehead against the wheel and just cried.
It had been a solid five minutes before you were able to steady your breathing and calm down a little. Your eyes glanced back to the apartment, with a shaky sigh you put the key into the ignition and started your car. You didn't have a set destination in mind but you just needed to go anywhere else but here.
You seemed to drive on autopilot because without even realizing it you ended up driving to the address of Lieutenant Anderson. Since you had made the mistake of moving in with Gavin, you really didn't have anywhere else to go. You hoped he wouldn't mind if you crashed there for a couple of days with a little persuasion from Connor. The moment you thought about the android you felt yourself feel just a little bit better. You knew that if anyone would be able to lift your spirits, it was him.
Within less than a half hour you arrived at the residence of Hank, Sumo, and as of recently, Connor. You parked by the curb and turned off your car. Taking a few deep breaths, you looked at yourself in the mirror and realized how much of a mess you looked. Your eyes were red, puffy, and glossy with fresh tears. But at this point you were beyond caring about how you looked.
With a soft huff you pulled yourself out of your car and headed up to the door. You wasted no more time before knocking on the door a couple of times. Looking over your shoulder you noticed Hank's car wasn't in the driveway. Must have been out at a bar or something. Your attention was brought back to the door when you heard it unlocking and being pulled open. Connor's eyes widened at the sight of you and his LED shifted into a yellow as he immediately scanned you for any bodily harm.
"(Y/n)? What's wrong? Are you alright?" he asked, worry evident in his voice and soft eyes.
"H-He cheated on me," was all you said, your barely audible voice cracking as you fought off a second round of tears.
The androids features softened and he opened the door wider for you to step inside. You offered him a weak grateful smile as you walked into the humble abode. He closed the door behind you before offering to take your coat, like the gentleman he was. After he took you to trudged over to the couch and sunk down onto it. You hadn't even been there five minutes and you already felt more at home than you did spending months at his place.
A smile tugged at your lips when the saint bernard, Sumo, came up and layed at your feet. You leaned down and pet through his thick fur.
"Hey buddy," you mumbled to the canine.
Your attention was brought back up to Connor when he took a seat next to you.
"Do you want to talk about it?" he asked kind of awkwardly.
You shook your head, "No, not really."
Connor nodded in understanding. He wasn't quite sure what else to say. Comforting people wasn't exactly his strong suit. He was about to open his mouth to speak but shut it once you leaned your head against his shoulder, your eyes trained on the dog that layed by your feet. Connor tensed at the contact and you were just about to move away and apologize when he slowly wrapped an arm around your waist.
"I'm so sorry, (Y/n)," Connor almost whispered, breaking the silence that had fallen upon you.
"Yeah, me too," you said sadly, sighing shakily.
You felt the tears coming back and your breath becoming more uneven but you made no attempt to stop it. Connor must have noticed too because he shifted slightly and used his other hand to pull you into his chest. This time it was you who had tensed at the sudden hug, and soon you completely melted into his touch. You buried your face into his chest and clutched onto his jacket like your life depended on it, meanwhile Connor soothingly pet your hair.
"He didn't deserve you anyways," he mumbled, mostly to himself.
A long period of time passed where none of you said a word. Connor just held you in his arms as you sobbed into his chest. He thought he hated Gavin before you two started dating, now the next time he saw him he was going to have some words for him. Connor wished he had said something to you before you got hurt, but it was too late for that now so he was content to be here for you now. He hated to admit it, but he actually really like the position you two were in, minus the you crying thing of course.
A couple more minutes passed until Connor realized that you had seemed to calm down. He looked down at you and just as he was about to call your name he noticed that you had fallen asleep. You must have been so exhausted that you cried yourself to sleep. Slowly, Connor picked you up bridal style before laying you down onto the couch. He had to snap himself out of staring at your sleeping form in order to get you a spare blanket. When he came back he gently laid the blanket over you then hesitantly leaned down closer to you.
"Sleep well, (Y/n)," he whispered before leaning in further to press a soft kiss to your forehead.
In the morning, you were awoken by the potent smell of bacon in the air. You stirred a bit before your eyes fluttered open, taking in your surroundings. It took a moment to realize where you were, and what exactly happened the night before. When you looked up to see Hank making his way over to the couch you sat up to give him room. You assumed Connor had filled him in after you fell asleep because he didn't ask why you were here, only mumbling a 'mornin'.
You offered him a small smile in response and rubbed your eyes. Looking over, you saw Connor in the kitchen and got up to join him. When he noticed you at his side he offered you a bright smile.
"Good morning, (Y/n). How did you sleep?" he asked, his eyes going back to the bacon he was cooking up.
"As well as you'd expect sleeping on a couch. Whatcha doing?" you nodded down to the food he was making.
"Making you breakfast, of course," he said as if it were obvious.
"Really?" your eyes widened and you could feel your cheeks heating up.
"I hope you don't mind," he added once he saw your reaction, suddenly doubting his actions.
"No, no! I don't mind at all, it's just..... Something I'm not used to," you said, rubbing the back of your neck.
"Well, as long as you stay with us I'll make you whatever you want whenever you want," he grinned, proud of himself.
Your lips curled up into a wide smile and you went up on your tippy toes, pressing a quick peck to his cheek, "Thanks Con."
"Uh- N-No problem (Y/n)," he stuttered, a light blue starting to tint his cheeks.
Maybe all your romantic daydreams weren't so unrealistic after all. You just had to know where to look. Maybe you should be thanking Gavin. Yeah, a nice thank you with your fist would do just fine.
25+Saeyoung 👀
YEAHHHHHH here's a fun fact:
My mother loved this song from Tarzan, and one day I was just listening to random childhood nostalgia songs and this came on and I just startd crying, istg and while I was walking my mother was in the background like "Amanda what the fuck, come eat dinner before I beat yo ass"
Please feel free to listen to this cover while you read! This is mostly sung through MC's perspective btw
You'll be in my heart (Saeyoung x MC)
Come stop your crying
It will be alright
Just take my hand
Hold it tight
I will protect you
From all around you
I will be here
Don't you cry
You woke up to a pained sobbed beside you.
Saeyoung.
He squirmed in his sleep and let out small whimpers. Slowly, you shook his shoulder and whispered for him to wake up. He sat up and opened his eyes, alert, looking around the room, and once his eyes landed on you he relaxed.
You grabbed his hand. "Bad dream?"
"Sadly yes. You'd think I'd stop having those after all these years." He chuckled.
You leaned beside him and kissed his shoulder. "It's alright Saeyoung. I'm with you now, and you can let it all go."
For one so small
You seem so strong
My arms will hold you
Keep you safe and warm
This bond between us
Can't be broken
I will be here don't you cry
Saeyoung sat quietly for a minute, and then he grabbed your waist and pulled you towards him, shaking. "Thank you." He whispered, and you held him tight as he sobbed, reassuring him that now everything was alright, and that now, you were together.
That moment, in your arms, he felt so small, so fragile. Your heart clenched at the thought of everything he went through.
You ran your hands through his hair.
"I love you so much Saeyoung. Everything is alright now."
.
.
.
'Cause you'll be in my heart
Yes, you'll be in my heart
From this day on
Now and forever more
.
.
.
You walked together around the festival, a C&R event that both Jumin and Saeyoung had worked on yo raise funds for charities that helped children that were in abusive households.
Saeyoung held your hand as he led you around the fair, giving you a tour around the place. Saeran was nearby eating cotton candy with Yoosung, who has chatting excitedly about something.
The two of you laughed as you got on all the rides, and you even got Saeyoung a cat he wanted from one of the games. It was an absolutely perfect day.
.
.
.
'Cause you'll be in my heart
Yes, you'll be in my heart
From this day on
Now and forever more
Oh, you'll be in my heart
No matter what they say
You'll be here in my heart always
You held each other in a tight embrace that night, the covers against your bare skin. Saeyoung kept giving you lazy kisses on your neck, your chest, while you sighed happily.
"Hey Saeyoung, stop breathing against my neck, it tickles." You said.
Saeyoung smirked against your skin. "Oh really? What happens if instead I blow like this?"
You let out a shriek as Saeyoung blew cold air against your neck, and then gasped as he suddenly grabbed you and started tickling your side.
"HAHA SAE-SAEYOUNG I-I CAN'T, STOP IT, HAHAHA, WE- WE'RE GOING TO WAKE SAERAN UP- EEEK!!!"
"No way! Now there's no escape from 707 Defender of Justice!! I'll tickle you until I feel like stopping!"
You let out another shriek as he pinned you down and tickled you even more.
Then he stopped and smiled lovingly.
You curiously looked up at him, the room's mood suddenly shifting from playful to serious in just a few seconds.
"Saeyoung?" You asked, and he chuckled as he collapsed, crushing you.
"HEY SAEYOUNG!!! WHAT-"
"I love you with all my being. I adore you, I will do anything for you. I....I've never felt this way before, and I'm not really sure how...how exactly to act most of the time. But what I do know...is that I want to spend the rest of my life with you. I love you MC."
Don't listen to them
'Cause what do they know
We need each other
To have, to hold
They'll see in time
I know
When destiny calls you
You must be strong
I may not be with you
But you got to hold on
They'll see in time
I know
Saeyoung shifted his weight from one foot to the other, trying to take steady breaths. At one point Saeran gently punched him in the shoulder, startling his brother.
"Oi stop it. You look as if you're about to run away due to fear."
Saeyoung gulped nervously beside his brother. "W-well I'm just, I-I don't know how to act exactly...Saeran I've been scared of this all my life."
"Of commitment? C'mon Saeyoung stop being an idiot, MC is clearly in love with you, you are clearly in love with them."
"But what if-"
"Shut up, the ceremony is starting." Then, Saeran gently pet Saeyoung's shoulder and with a slight blush to his cheeks he said. "I'm happy for you both. I...uhm....I really wish you the best. And I'm sure you'll always be together."
Saeyoung smiled as he looked at his brother, and then, just like every other guest in the room, he gasped as soon as his eyes laid on you.
You looked so beautiful.
He immediately felt his eyes water, and he smiled at you.
You made your way towards the altar and grabbed his hands tightly. Saeyoung kissed them and sobbed, his smile getting wider and wider.
.....
"You may now kiss your-"
"YUP!" Saeyoun interrupted the pastor and quickly grabbed you by the waist and dipped you, kissing you passionately making the guests laugh, cry, (and both Saeran and Yoosung to roll their eyes.)
The whole ceremony was a success, the two of you were now happily married!
'Cause you'll be in my heart
Believe me, you'll be in my heart
From this day on
Now and forever more
You held each other close as you made your way along the dance floor. Saeyoung couldn't help the big smile on his face as he leaned his forehead against yours.
"I love you." He whispered, and you smiled back.
"I love you too, Saeyoung Choi."
"I can't believe it.... we're finally married."
"We are. And I couldn't be happier."
"MC....You changed my life. You've...you've done so much for me, for everyone in the RFA. Thank you. I'm so lucky to be with someone like you. I promise I will cherish you forever and that I'll never leave you, from now on, I promise that I'll spend the rest of my time by your side. I'm so happy....I never thought this day would come and I...I seriously love you so much. I swear I'll always protect you, I will do anything for you, I would even-"
You cupped his check and gave him a chaste kiss, making Saeyoung blush.
"Me too Saeyoung. I promise I will protect you too. From now on, it's just the two of us, keeping each other safe, alright? We'll be together forever. I love you."
Saeyoung smirked and kissed you back. "You now have my heart."
"And you mine..."
"MC, no matter what, you'll always be in my heart. In fact, you've buried yourself so deep into it that I'm sure no amount of brute force could get you out. Not that I want that of course."
You laughed and Saeyoung spun you around.
A new phase in your life was now beginning, and you were ready to see it to the end with the love of your life.
Yes, you'll be in my heart
No matter what they say
You'll be here in my heart always
Alway, always...
The Blue Eyed King’s Gift
Oof! After an eternity incredibly long time I’m finally back to writing! This one will be a three part fic to accompany the Fairy Tale AU one I wrote with Dante x Fem!Reader.
Can you guess which tale I got inspiration for this fic? I won’t include it in the tags for now, but as the story progresses you will start to get the idea of which tale it is.
Warnings: Slight violence against children. Don’t worry, it’s nothing too serious.
Story under the cut.
IMPORTANT EDIT: I decided to make this a four-part fic rather than a three-part, mostly because I realized that the second part may be a little too long to be included in just one chapter.
Part Two - Part Three - Part Four
.............................
Part One
Tumblr media
"(Y/N)!! Where the fuck is my breakfast?!!"
Your father yelled from his bed chambers in such a loud volume you swore the entire house trembled in fear at his wrath. Letting out a defeated sigh, you hurried up placing all the served plates and the warm teapot on the tray before heading upstairs.
Life hadn't been easy at all for you, especially these recent years. Ever since you had memory, your father has been a cruel man to both you and your poor mother, the only reason she had ended up marrying him was because of an arrangement both their families had agreed upon. He was the sole heir of his family's fortune, but needed to marry a woman in order to keep their status unblemished. Eventually your grandparents passed away and your parents received the inheritance, the only problem they didn't take into account was their son's unmeasurable greed and hedonism. Soon enough, your father had wasted pretty much all your fortune in alcohol, unsuccessful business deals and gambling, reducing all your family's possessions to merely a modest but still pretty chateau in the countryside and a few valuables.
You still cried at the memory of your mother wilting away on her bed due to a most terrible illness, the medicines she needed to recover were far too expensive, not that the price mattered much since your father wouldn’t even bother to pay for them anyways had they been any cheaper. Alcohol and gambling were far more important for the man than his dying wife.
"Finally! I swear you're doing this on purpose." Your father scowled from his bed as you placed the food tray on his bedside table. "Do you wish for your own father to starve to death? Talk about an ungrateful child. Get out of my sight already!"
You only resigned to silently nod before leaving, the harsh words from your father never failed to hurt you deeply, cutting down your heart so much you weren't able to mutter a single word to him.
A few tears threatened to escape, but you forced them down. A new day full of possibilities was right before you, so you wasted no time in collecting some of the many fruits and vegetables you grew by yourself in your own garden. This year had brought an exceptional harvest, your crops would certainly make a great profit at the town's market.
Unlike your father, the townspeople respected you and treated you with utmost kindness. Often would they offer their help knowing your situation, something that you would forever be grateful for. You promised to yourself that one day, shall your economy ever recover that is, you would repay them to the last penny for their unwavering support.
After another successful day at the town market you decided to return home, all your produce sold out and now replaced by a small satchel of silver coins, some of them spent in meat, spices and bread for cooking meals at home.
It was a simple life, but you were happy with what little you had. Now if only your father weren't so cruel and abusive...
.............................
"C'mon V! Let's explore over here!"
You were in the kitchen when a soft giddy voice in the distance caught your attention.
"Wait Nero! I don't think it's a good idea to stray further. What if Father becomes worried?" A second voice answered back.
Peering out the window, you noticed two little children playing not too far from your chateau's front yard. Both had pristine white hair, one of them seemed to carry a black kitten in his arms while a blue bird was perched on his shoulder. It was a rather endearing sight and an odd one too since they weren't familiar to you at all, not many people lived in the countryside area you resided in. Perhaps a family recently moved nearby without you noticing.
"Don't worry V, after all he sent Griffon and Shadow here to look after us. Look brother," One of them pointed at your residence with the small wooden sword in his hands. "I found a tiny castle!"
"Whoa, what a lovely house! Do you think a tiny princess lives there too?" The other brother pointed out. You couldn't help but giggle at their adorable antics as they approached your yard.
Reaching for some of the pastries you had bought earlier, you decided to grab a few to give to the brothers. You were about to reach for the back door when-
"GET OUT OF MY PROPERTY YOU BRATS!!"
As soon as you stepped out, you witnessed your father in a very drunken state harassing the poor children. "I SAID GET LOST NOW!!!"
You watched in absolute horror how he harshly grabbed one of the kids by his arm before throwing him to the ground, prompting his brother to wield his toy sword in an attempt to defend him, but ultimately failing as he was backhanded so roughly he too fell to the ground.
"NO! FATHER STOP!" You immediately sprinted to them, basically throwing yourself over harm's way as you shielded the children, pulling them away from your father's relentless attacks. Even the black cat and the blue bird that accompanied the kids had started attacking him, effectively helping you keeping the man at bay as you hugged the kids protectively.
"Damn animals, GET AWAY FROM ME!" The man struggled and flailed against the bird and the cat, missing every strike as he was too drunk and unfocused for their agility.
"Please father, you're completely inebriated and you will only hurt yourself and others. Just go back to the house, please?" You implored doing, your best to calm him down until he finally relented.
"Fine. Food better be ready soon though or you're sleeping outside tonight." His words came out slurred as he stumbled back inside.
Letting out a sigh of relief, you turned to the young twins in your arms, kneeling down before them to check for any wounds they may have gotten. The poor little ones were crying, a few bruises and cuts on their knees and faces.
"It's okay little ones, the bad man is already gone." Gently wiping their tears away, you comforted them until they calmed down. "Are you alright?"
"I-I think so... How about you V?"
"I... I’m fine. That man was so scary though."
A sigh of relief escaped you as you determined all the wounds were minor and merely superficial, nothing you couldn’t handle quickly.
"I'm truly sorry for what happened. Please come inside, let's get your wounds treated."
.............................
“Much better now, isn’t it?”
It didn’t take long for you to finish cleaning and disinfecting the boys’ wounds. Luckily yout homemade medicinal balm was already working wonders, their skin already healing considerably.
“Here! A gift for being the bravest boys in the world.” You handed each one the pastries from before. The brothers’ eyes began sparkling at the sweet treats before them, they didn’t hesitate for a second before grabbing them and taking a bite.
“Thank you so much lady (Y/N)! These are so delicious!” they happily ate their pastries, even sharing a bit for their company animals too.
“I’m glad you like them. And you don’t need to call me lady by the way, just (Y/N) is fine. May I know your names too?”
“I’m Nero!” The twin with short hair and blue eyes answered.
“My name is Vitale, or V if you prefer.” The twin with shoulder-length hair and green eyes replied. “Oh! And these are our friends Griffon and Shadow!” V hugged Shadow close to his chest while Griffon perched himself on Nero’s shoulder.
“A pleasure meeting you four! Does your family live nearby by the way?”
Nero nodded as he kept chewing on his pastry. “Our house is just north from here actually, but Papa doesn’t let us go out often.”
Oh?
“And why is that?”
“Well...” V started, looking a bit down. “Father is very protective of us, that’s why he only lets us play outside as long as we stay close to the house. But today we tried convincing him to let us go explore a little bit farther, it was difficult but he finally agreed as long as we promised we would be alright...”
“I really hope he doesn’t get mad at us after he finds out what happened.” Nero added worryingly. Their saddened eyes really plucked at your heartstrings.
You knelt down so you could look at them in the eyes. “Don’t worry my children. How about I write a note to your father explaining the situation? I’m not sure if this would help much, but at least he would know he has my word that no harm will come to you. And if that doesn’t work, I could always go and meet him personally to get to an agreement.”
“You would really do that for us?” They looked at you expectantly, and when you nodded your answer, their faces lit up in so much joy that they unexpectedly enveloped you in a hug. You chuckled before wrapping your arms around them, returning the hug.
.............................
Since the brothers wanted to continue playing, you allowed the children to stay for a few more hours while you finished cooking. You let them keep playing in your garden, a place where you knew your father wouldn’t spot them and risk another scene like the one before.
Politely excusing yourself to your little guests before leaving to deliver your father’s meal. Luckily this time he received his food without saying much of a word, a very welcomed improvement from this morning’s rant.
As you returned to your guests, you noticed they were looking at you in concern.
“(Y/N), is that man really... your father?
“Yes, he is. Why the question?”
The glanced at each other briefly before V continued “Why did he treat you like that? I thought fathers were supposed to love their daughters...”
To say the question took you a bit by surprise would have been a underestimation. You simply sat down at one of the wooden benches, not knowing exactly what to say.
The brothers sat down next to you, each one by your sides.
You fumbled with your words, tears already pricking your eyes before you managed to control them.
“I know he is not exactly a good man, he made many mistakes in the past that cost our family so much… But, despite everything, he is still my father. Maybe I’m wrong, but I want to think he still has a good heart deep inside. That’s why I can’t give up on him. I stay with him in hope that one day he would finally change for the better.”
You forced a smile so you wouldn’t make the children worry anymore about you, and yet they managed to see through your façade. Their little arms wrapped around your waist and hugged you, an attempt to give you some comfort for the pain you were going through daily.
A warmth unlike no other enveloped your entire self, maybe it was cuteness of the situation or the great empathy of this wonderful children felt for you, but it felt so soothing how peace seemed to overtake you at the moment.
It was strange, yet so familiar. Like a distant memory of better days gone by.
.............................
The sun was about to set in a few hours, so you decided it was time for the children to head back home before it became dark.
As you had promised the brothers, you wrote a note for their father apologizing for the incident that happened and gave it to Nero. You also packed a few slices of fruit in a pouch for them to snack on during their trip back home.
“Um (Y/N)... can we come to your house to play again some time?” V asked in a shy voice. Both he and Nero had so much fun playing and staying with you, for them it felt that they had genuinely met a new friend that day.
“Of course little ones. You can come here and play whenever you want, as long as your father agrees to.” You ruffled their pretty little heads, making the brothers giggle.
“We promise to visit as often as we can! Right V?”
The younger one nodded his head enthusiastically.
And so, Nero and V departed. It was odd, how the chateau felt a hundred times emptier without them despite just meeting them earlier.
They were both so sweet and innocent, you just hoped their father wouldn’t get angry after reading your short letter. It would be a shame if the boys got punished for something that wasn’t their fault.
Going back into the kitchen, you cleaned a bit before tending to the plants at your garden, wondering if your new friends would soon brighten your day again with their presence
.............................
At the throne of a majestic palace, an all-seeing orb conjured at his hand, a demon king watched over his two sons.
The day they were born, he vowed to The Creator above that he would always protect them, even if that meant giving up his own life, he would gladly pay the price if it guaranteed they would keep living theirs in peace.
His kingdom may not be a vast one, completely isolated from others, but the land was prosperous and peace reigned over everyone. The king knew his sons would grow safe and sound behind the powerful barrier that surrounded the kingdom, but he couldn’t help a small seed of doubt that gnawed at his chest.
He feared for the day curiosity would awake in the hearts of his twins. They would want to know everything about the outside world, their innocent minds not knowing how cruel and dangerous it could be. The king often taught them of the outside world through the many books and scripts in the royal library, but he was afraid that would not be enough for his children.
So when that morning they had insisted of going beyond the barrier, no matter how much he had prepared himself mentally for this moment, his heart still ached with worry.
But he wouldn’t take their freedom away. Doing so is one of the most horrifying acts one could bestow upon another.
So the king allowed them to venture beyond their home. He had to let them fly, not clip their beautiful wings.
However, as much as he wanted to trust his sons, his concerns were bigger. He tasked two servants to keep them company, knowing that their eyes would keep guard on them. Using his demonic power, he summoned an oracle that would let him watch over them from his throne.
He watched as they approached a small chateau outside the forest, they were happy and playing along the way which brought a smile to his usually stoic face.
That contentment was gone in an instant.
A drunk man stepped out of the house and attacked his sons, scaring them and making them cry.
The king immediately stood from his throne, his fists tightly clenched as his eyes filled with immeasurable wrath and ire. He was about to unsheath his own sword to open a portal and go there, ready to end the miserable man’s life, when another figure ran into the scene. A woman who shielded his sons from the attacking man.
And when he finally managed to look at her face, he froze, almost dropping the sword in his hand.
For she looked exactly like-
… No. It couldn’t be her.
And yet there was a tenderness in the way she treated them. The way her soft hands cleaned the boys’ tears and kindly healed their wounds. The way she offered them a few pastries with a sweet smile in her face and warm light in her eyes. It was rather endearing, how this woman gained his sons’ trust in just a few minutes.
Releasing a breath he didn’t know he was holding, the king sat down at the throne once again, attentive to what the oracle revealed to his eyes.
Maybe the outside world wasn’t so dangerous after all.
I woke up to a text from Ava.
'Rise and shine, you sleepy sloth! I hope you had a good night, here's something to brighten your morning! Xoxo'
She attached a cute cat gif stretching its paws and yawning as it wakes up from it's sleep.
I shot her back a quick reply. 'Morning, babe! Thanks for the adorable cat gif, I can't wait to see your gorgeous face later today <3'.
I may have just woken up but I just knew that today was gonna be an amazing day.
The hours leading up to my date with Ava was a blur. I was wrecked with excitement and anticipation. Mackenzie noticed me on edge and I explained my dilemma to her. She didn't seem that surprised when I came out to her as bi and told her I had a date with Ava.
She just rolled her eyes and said, 'Finally!'.
Two hours before our date, I begged Mack to help me find the perfect outfit. I paced up and down my room, trying on my entire wardrobe and still not being able to settle on anything.
"Oh my god, Em, calm down!" Mack exclaimed in frustration. "It's just Ava! She's seen you at your absolute trash bottom!"
"I know! But it's different!" I defended. "It's like an actual date this time, y'know?"
"You went out for dates with Noah and Mason recently and you weren't walking up and down your room like an agitated child that just shat their pants and is too afraid to tell their parents." She squinted at me. "You like her a lot more than the both of them, don't you?"
"I- what? Mack, no. I mean, I'm not sure. I haven't figured it out yet."
She sighed and stared at me dead in the eyes. "Look, I know you like both boys but I think even you have noticed that you're more drawn to Ava. Shit, you just told me an hour or so ago that you liked her and I can already tell just by looking at you now." She waited for me to process her words before speaking again. "You aren't gonna destroy Mason's or Noah's life if you chose to be with Ava. They're big boys, they can handle the rejection."
Her words struck a chord in me. I have noticed that ever since Ava kissed me I haven't been able to think about either Mason or Noah. When I kissed both of them, I was constantly worrying about the other but with Ava, it was only her that occupied my mind.
I looked away then back at my sister. "I... I think you're right. But I'm just gonna have this date with her before I come to a conclusion."
She waved her hand at me. "Yeah yeah, you do that, but I bet you fifty that you'll agree with me."
"No way am I agreeing to that bet," I scoffed.
"And why not?"
"...'Cuz I'm pretty sure I'll lose."
~•~•~
After over an hour, I finally decided on a cute outfit and waited for Ava in my living room. I was fidgeting with my fingers while Mack made fun of me, teasing me about how nervous I was but I couldn't even focus because it was true; I was mortified.
Ding Dong!
"Ahh!" I shouted in surprise.
My sister just laughed at me and moved to answer the door. "Chill, your girlfriend's here."
"She's not my girl-" I started but stopped mid-sentence when I saw her walk into our hallway.
She may have not been my girlfriend just yet but god, I wish she were.
"Ava," I whispered, speechless. "H-hey!"
"Hey yourself, babe!" She came up to me and wrapped me in a hug. The pet name caused a rush of heat to my cheeks which I was sure she felt when she kissed it. We've always called each other by pet names, 'baby', 'babe', 'darling', 'sweetheart', 'jerk' or 'weirdo' even but this time, it felt different. Different in a good way.
She pulled back slightly as her eyes traveled up and down my figure. Her gaze set my body on fire. "You look amazing!" she complimented. "You're so pretty."
I blushed. "Thanks." I gave her a once over and felt my breath hitch. "You look really hot," I blurted out without thinking and immediately slapped my palm against my mouth.
She burst out laughing, the sound filling me with delight despite my embarrassment. "Thank you, Em." She lifted an arm and it was only then that I noticed that she was holding a bouquet of flowers. "Um, these are for you."
She knew I loved flowers. I accepted it, starting to get a little teary eyed. This was ridiculous! We haven't even stepped out of the house and I was already overwhelmed with emotions. It was a gorgeous bunch of yellow roses with red petal tips. I immediately recognised the meaning behind the colour and the tears started to trickle down my face.
"Ava," I lunged at her, wrapped my arms around her neck and burying my face in the crook of it. "You seriously didn't have to."
"But I wanted to, I wanted to do this right," she laughed and hugged me back.
This moment would've been perfect if it weren't for Mackenzie clearing her throat from the living room couch.
"Okayyyy, I guess this is my cue to leave," she awkwardly excused herself and made her way upstairs. "Bye, lovebirds! Stay safe! Don't do anything stupid and don't forget to practice safe se-!"
"Mack!" I exclaimed, cutting her off but hurling a pillow from the couch at her.
My face was flushed with heat once again from Mack's comment but Ava just let out a good-natured laugh, obviously finding the whole ordeal amusing.
"C'mon, Em. Let's go," she said.
I excused myself to place the bouquet into a vase before walking to her sedan. She opened the door of the passenger seat for me before closing it and entering the driver's side. This girl was too sweet, I swear she'd be the death of me.
She started the engine and started driving away from my house.
"So, where are we going?" I asked.
"And why should I tell you?" she teased.
"Uh, because I'm in your car and I don't know where you're taking me? That's basically kidnapping!"
"It's not if you entered on your own free will!" she giggled and I couldn't help but laugh along with her. Her laugh was contagious and it made my heart flutter.
I didn't have to wait long to find out our destination. It was a small, quaint ice cream parlour. The same ice cream parlour we went to on our first hang out together. We hadn't been back here since and the sight of the shop made me nostalgic.
We entered the shop and it was just as I remembered. It was quite and calm. A much different ambience from the outside world. We walked up to the display freezer and stared at all the different options.
Ava turned to me. "Okay, so here's how we make things interesting, we order a random ice cream we haven't tried before, no trying the flavours beforehand."
I gave her a look. Leave it to Ava to find a way to spice things up. One thing I can say for sure was that my life would definitely be boring without her.
"So, what would you like?"
"Um, I'm not sure." One particular ice cream stood out to me though I wasn't sure it'd be my cup of tea. "I kinda want to try the Maple Bacon Ice Cream but I don't know if I'll like it."
"First of all, that's the whole point of this! We won't know, it's a game of luck. Second of all, you haven't tried Maple Bacon before?" she asked incredulously.
"And you have?"
"Of course! Who hasn't?"
"Ava, that's not a regular ice cream flavour, weirdo."
"It is in my house...," she muttered as she pouted, eyebrows furrowing. I couldn't help but giggle at how cute she was being. "What if we share it? Since you're too chicken to actually get a whole scoop for yourself."
"Hey! That's not true!" I protested but she was right on some regards. I didn't want to waste it if I didn't like it. "But since you insisted, sure, I guess."
"Don't pretend you're not relieved that I offered to share," she smiled teasingly at me.
After much persuasion, I finally let Ava pay for the ice cream and we found an empty booth in the corner. It was far away and secluded enough from the other patrons to give us some privacy.
We sat across from each other with the cup of ice cream in between us. I noticed that they only gave us one spoon. We've shared food and cutlery before but this time, it made me nervous.
"They only gave us one spoon," I pointed out.
"So?" Ava questioned. "We've shared before, here!"
She scooped up some ice cream and brought it up to my lips. I looked at her and cautiously leaned forward to let her feed me. I saw her gulp as I accepted the ice cream.
She shook herself out of her daze and asked, "How is it?"
I licked my lips and gave her a smile. "It's actually really good!"
"See? You should listen to me more often," she bragged.
"Yeah, yeah, now let me feed you instead, it's only fair."
We continued to feed each other, giggling and laughing every time we smudged ice cream against the other's cheek. At first I did it by accident but Ava wasn't having it so she did it back to me on purpose.
We were attacking each other with ice cream, almost screaming at one point and only stopped when we noticed the ice cream server glaring at us.
We quiet down, trying to hold in our giggles and I couldn't help but get distracted by Ava. I saw her mouth moving, saying something but I wasn't listening. Last night was the first time I really got to look at her but right now, in the daylight, I could see every detail of her face that I missed under the dim streetlight. And now that I know my feeling weren't entirely platonic, I could properly appreciate them.
Her perfectly shaped eyebrows, her almond eyes that were a beautiful shade of chestnut brown, accentuated by her eyeliner and mascara and her soft lips that were painted in a darker shade of red today, perfectly complimenting her features. Her gorgeous hair, her high cheekbones, her strong jaw, her freckles. God, her freckles. They scattered all over her cheeks and nose making her look absolutely adorable. All these combined together to make the absolute masterpiece that was Ava.
I've always liked her freckles. I liked how prominent they were in the summer and I knew sometimes she was insecure about how obvious they were but I've always thought that that was ridiculous. If anything I thought it made her look extremely pretty. Not that she isn't without them but there was something about them that caught my attention.
I was broken out of my reverie when I say Ava waving a hand in front of my eyes.
"Hellooo? Earth to Emma?" she said, laughing. "You completely blanked out, what are you thinking about?"
"About you," I replied without a second thought.
I saw her looking a bit flustered and blush a little but she countered back. "Oh? And what about me?"
"I was just thinking about how stunning you look," I admitted.
She bit her lip. "We've known each other for years, you know how I look like, dork."
"Yeah, but I've never gotten a chance to properly look at you and appreciate your face. You're so breath-taking."
I moved to slowly cup her face in my hands and I felt the warmth from her cheeks. I saw her let out a shaky breath and close her eyes for a while before looking back at me. My own heart was doing flips. She smiled and rolled her eyes.
"Okay, you flirt," she joked.
We talked as we finished up our ice cream. Well, I ate most of eat but on our way out I bought one for Ava since I felt bad for stealing most of it. We walked out of the shop, passing the cone of ice cream back and forth to share.
"Where to next?" I asked her while licking the ice cream.
"Just keep walking, we'll be there soon," she replied while reaching out to take the ice cream from me.
I shook my head at her refusal to tell me but I complied. We walked down the sidewalk, shoulders brushing ever so slightly every now and then. I felt her hand ghost over mine a couple of times before I looked up at her. I could almost sense the conflict going on in her head. I silently giggled to myself before grabbing her hand, interlocking our fingers together.
Just like she did the night before, she looked at our hands and then into my eyes. I saw a twinkle in them as she gave me a shy smile.
"Thank you," she spoke softly.
I gave her hand a squeeze in response as we continued to walk down the street, hand-in-hand and sharing the ice cream.
I loved the way her hand fit in mine. It felt different from Mason's and Noah's hand. Their's were slightly calloused, maybe from playing football, and much bigger than mine. I liked the way their's made me feel protected and secured.
However, Ava's hand, while just as strong, was smooth and smaller. It felt comforting and familiar, like someone you've known for a long time who'd always be there even on your worse days. And I'd be lying if I said I didn't prefer this over their's.
"I like holding your hand," Ava spoke out. "It's nice."
I let out a small chuckle and nodded. "I was just thinking the same."
We walked a few more steps before Ava announced, "We're here."
She brought me to a park that was filled with trees and flowers. The park wasn't too crowded but there were a decent amount of people minding their own business. Being autumn, most leaves on the trees were a fiery yet serene combination of red, orange and amber. We walked down a pathway lined with the trees and covered with fallen leaves.
"The scenery is amazing!" I stated in awe. I looked around to take in the view and turned back to Ava to only see her gazing at me.
"So are you," she added. I don't know how many more times she was going to make me blush but I wasn't complaining.
After walking a little more, we spotted a bench. We finished up the ice cream and threw the wrapper and tissue into the trash can nearby before I pulled her by the hand to sit.
She sat a few spaces away but I scooted closer to her. I took her hand in both of mine and placed it on my lap, caressing it. We've always been physically affectionate with each other and I'm not going to allow that to change now. I still wanted her to be comfortable around me despite our recent revelation about our relationship.
Once I saw her relax a bit, I placed my head on her shoulder. I could tell her heart started to race and I had to admit that her nearness was making my heart do the same. The smell of her perfume wafted up to my nose and made my mind hazy. I was finding it hard to focus on anything else with her so close to me. But the again, why would I want to focus on anything else?
I closed my eyes and heard her speak. "I don't think you know how painful it was seeing you with Noah yesterday at homecoming. I kept trying to tell myself that it wasn't my place to be jealous but I couldn't help it. I'm sorry."
"If it makes you feel any better, even though I was with Noah, I couldn't stop myself from staring at you," I confessed. "When I saw you, I thought I was looking at an ethereal being, you didn't look like you belonged on earth, let alone at some crappy high school gym."
She lets out a radiant giggle and I felt her shoulders shake in laughter as I continued, "I realised last night that it's been like this for some time now. I hope you know that this has been long time coming, it's not just some fluke thing that happened last night."
She wraps an arm around my waist, letting it rest against my hip. "I get it, I feel the same way. I've liked you for some time now but it was time I finally admitted it to myself."
I swallowed, holding back the tears that were threatening to spill. Hearing her speak like that made me indescribably happy. "Yesterday, at the dance, I was secretly hoping you'd cut in and ask me for a dance," I confessed.
"I was hoping you'd ask me!" she revealed and we both laughed.
Ava gently nudged me off of her and stood from the bench. I looked up at her, puzzled. She stretched out an arm, offering it to me. "Since I didn't get to ask you for a dance yesterday, I'm doing it now. Would you like to share a dance with me, darling?"
I giggled at her antics. "Ava, we're in the middle of the park! People will think we're mad!"
"I don't care about them, only you. Do you care?" she challenged back.
I didn't have to think twice about my answer. "When I'm with you? Never have and never will."
I placed my hand in hers and she brought it up to her lips kissing it before pulling me up to her feet. I crashed into her, laughing and holding onto her to stabilise myself. She chuckled along with me and guided us a few paces away from the bench. She positioned a hand on my hip and the other still clutching mine. Instinctively, I brought one hand to rest on her shoulder.
"There's no music," I stated.
"Looks like we'll just have to make our own."
Ava began humming a random tune and we started spinning around as if we were ballroom dancing. We stepped onto the grassy area as my laughter and Ava's humming increased in volume.
She twirled and dipped me. She placed both her hands on my waist and lifted me, spinning me in circles as I giggled uncontrollably. If anyone was staring, I didn't notice or bother. All I cared about was that I was in Ava's arms and I felt like I was flying.
She set me down and we both just looked at each other, smiling wider than we've seen each other grin before. I pulled her into me to hug her, resting my cheek against hers. Our heavy breathing and racing hearts began to subside. I moved back slightly in her arms to still see her smiling at me.
She looked back at me and seeing her so happy made me ecstatic in return. It made my heart sing to know I'm the reason for her happiness. The way she was looking at me made me feel important. It made me feel as if I was the best thing that's ever happened to her and it was then that I knew that the feeling was mutual.
Her mesmerising eyes gazed into mine and I thought back to last night, right before we kissed. I really wanted to kiss her then and I wanted it again now.
As if she could read my thoughts, she leaned in closer to me. Inches before her lips met mine, she stopped, hesitating if she should close the gap between us. I could feel her heart start pounding in her chest again against mine.
"Kiss me, Ava," I whispered, quietly enough so only she could hear.
She placed a hand behind my neck and tugged me into a kiss. Our lips met and it felt just as spectacular as last night's. I grabbed onto her harder, not wanting to let her go in case she pulls away but by the way she was clutching onto me made it clear she wouldn't dare dream of it.
Kissing Ava felt like the most wonderful thing in the universe. Mason and Noah were great kisser but even they couldn't even begin to compete with Ava. The small fluttering feeling in my tummy whenever I kissed them was nothing compared to the overwhelming sensation I was experiencing right now. Electricity was surging through my body, energising my entire being. It was entirely intoxicating. It was other-worldly.
I've never understood why people referred to their significant others as their weaknesses because right now, kissing Ava, I felt more alive than I ever did. She wasn't my weakness, she was my strength and...
Did I just refer to Ava as my significant other?
Like all good things, it had to come to an end. But it wasn't by choice, though. So enraptured in the kiss, I leaned further forward, causing Ava to lean back until she stumbled backwards and tripped over a rock. She crashed to the ground, taking me with her.
"Oof!"
"Ouch!"
We looked at each other and burst into a fit of laughter.
"Oh my god, are you okay?" I asked her in between giggles.
"Yeah, I'm fine," she replied in a similar manner.
Ava was flat on her back and I was still on top of her as I buried my face in the crook to muffle my laughter. Ava tossed her head back, still laughing.
After a while, the laughter died down and I lifted myself to look at her once again. We couldn't help it. We started giggling madly, so much so that I let out a snort that only made us more hysterical.
"Oh god, I can't breathe," Ava wheezed.
It took us at least a good three minutes to fully calm down. I rolled off Ava and laid beside her.
"C'mere," she said and pulled me closer.
I rested my head on her shoulder and draped an arm over her torso. She wrapped an arm around me while our legs intertwined. She was staring at the sky as I closed my eyes. It's amazing to think that just the day before yesterday I was worried about choosing between Mason and Noah but now, it's never been clearer that there was only one person for me. And ironically, it was neither of them.
Being here with Ava made me recognise that the reason I couldn't choose between either of them was because my heart already belonged to someone else without me even realising.
We stayed like that for a few minutes, just enjoying each other's  presence when I finally broke the quite.
"It's crazy how so much can change in a day." I said softly. "I admit, ever since day one, I would catch myself looking at you. I thought I was staring at you because that's just what people do when they find beauty in something. I know now that while that's true, there's more to it. And it's because I like you, Ava. I really like you. It might have taken us years for us to get here but I wouldn't have had it any other way."
I felt her hold her breath for a while before slowly exhaling.
I spoke again, "I think I'm gonna call it quits with Noah and Mason."
"Are you sure? That's pretty fast."
"I've never been more sure. I can't help but compare how much better everything feels with you. I'm not asking you to be my girlfriend yet, we don't have to rush it, but why lead them on when I already know you're the best for me. You, Ava Lawrence, are my first choice."
I opened my eyes. I still couldn't see Ava's face but I felt her inhaled deeply before gently, tenderly uttering, "You are my first choice too, Emma Price."
I felt the joy bubbling in me at her words. I smiled and let out a contented sigh.
I gave her a kiss on the cheek and whispered, "My feelings were never complicated, I was just to blind to see them for what they actually were." And it was true.
I couldn't help but think how glad I was that I didn't take on Mackenzie's bet. She was right. It always was and always will be Ava.
She may not have been my first love but she was my soulmate.
I know I ask alot but could you do a story about the reader getting kidnapped and being held hostage against the boys as black mail or something and the boys coming to save them.
Don't even worry about it! I don't want any of you to feel guilty about multiple asks, there are no limits! Ask as much as you want.
So this is a bit rough, but I will defend my portrayal of the Frog Brothers. Remember they were willing to stake Star and Laddie TWICE, even when they were helping them, just because they were half vampires. A girl and a little boy were still a threat. With that being said, I hope you still enjoy
Taken from Your Bed
The idea of a polyamorous relationship was something you had never considered in 17 years of living. The whole idea sounded so complex, sharing someone you loved with multiple people, or multiple people sharing and loving you? It just sounded like a huge mess.
 But when it came down to it, you could never choose between the beautiful vampires that had become absolutely smitten with you. What had started as a summertime time fling with the youngest and most perfect glam rocker, Paul, had evolved into a blossoming romance with his brothers. Late summer nights of riding through wind-warped beach dunes and cool morning naps were your new life. Your house had never really felt like a home even before you were coaxed into the arms of your blood sucking princes, and soon you just stopped coming back. Honestly they didn't even look for you. You'd be eighteen soon, you had graduated early from high school, there wasn't exactly much else to be done. It wasn't a surprise that your family was indifferent, you always questioned whether or not your parents had even wanted children. So, in the dark of the night they swooped in, liberating them of your belongings, and your presence. No note, no farewell, just an empty room with empty drawers.
Some days it would depress you. The subtle rejection hurt, but those days never lasted long. Any signs of tears and they'd be piling on you with a plethora of love. Paul would always remind you it didn't matter. You were with them now! Anyone else can burn in hell. The old cove where Star had slept was made up for you. They were more than happy to trash anything belonging to that treacherous girl. Battery powered fairy lights were hung across worn wooden bed posts, streams of colorful curtains kept you well shielded from any intruders, a mountain of stuffed toys from various trips to the boardwalk decorated the floor and your bed. They even managed to dig up a dusty old dresser for you clothes, and amongst your glamourous new cave dwelling, more often than not at least one of the boys would share the bed with you. On special occasions they'd all fall asleep with you in the middle between piles of plushies and pillows. Each one loved to spend time with you on and off the boardwalk.
Marko was up for absolutely anything as long as he could be with you. You'd read out chapters of The Outsiders while he burrowed in your lap, just entranced by your soothing voice. He'd beg you to sing to him, just to get a glimpse of what that entailed. You could sound like a dying seagull and he'd still call it a serenade. On lazy days he would let you practice painting his nails when you got bored, or brush his hair. That was his favorite. Paul would whine that he wants his hair brushed too, only for David to interject that it's his turn next. Yes, even David loves having your attention on him. When you aren't sitting pretty in his lap, he's laying lazily against you while you run your fingers through snowy blonde hair. If you get him relaxed enough he'll let out a low, growling hum. You started calling it a sleepy bear sound. Your time with David was often mellow, wrapped in his arms while he read. Eventually you'd grow curious and peek at the pages, asking him to read out loud. "Only for you kitten." He'd whisper.
Dwayne could braid your hair for hours, telling you old stories his granny would tell him passed on from centuries. Your favorite is the wendigo, the story of settlers driven to cannibalism after being trapped in a cruel winter, doomed to roam as superhuman beasts. It makes you wonder if what they had seen were ancient vampires? He'd chuckled, throwing in a casual "maybe" then ask if you wanted feathers woven in your hair as well. Uh, yes please! Dwayne always made sure you were taking care of yourself. If you hadn't eaten that day it was suddenly top priority. He'll remind you the importance of 7 cups of water a day, plenty of rest- until you point out he does none of that. He'd then argue he's undead, that doesn't count.
When Paul had his turn he'd be ecstatic. You'd both head bang to blasting music off the rock box, fix each other's hair in wild teased messes, sneak in a bit of heavy petting. Watching tv became a staple thanks to some rusty generator you "found" on a fisherman's boat after he… disappeared under mysterious circumstances. With a bowl of popcorn he'll pop in a scary movie, savoring those jumps that made you hide in his chest. It was too adorable! As soon as the other boys saw you two watching a film they'd all join and Paul would huff about his private time being commandeered.
Even with all of this, you had still decided to remain human much to their dismay. It wasn't that you didn't want to be a vampire. But after the Frog Brothers nearly wiped them out, the boys needed someone to be a daytime watch guard. You weren't supposed to fight anyone, just raise an alarm if there were trespassers. The thought of that made you pout. It's not like you couldn't handle yourself. Sure you weren't Bruce Li, but you had a few street brawl victories under your belt. You could certainly handle those Frog dorks.
 Or so you had thought.
That night you were absolutely positive no one had seen you, you certainly weren't supposed to be seen. It was 4:35 am, almost the entire boardwalk was scattered by now with most of the families long gone home. The lights were being shut off, rides had been closed hours ago. Only a few party animal adults still lingered at the bars making last calls, lazily returning to their beds after a draining night. A dense fog had started to roll in, coating the moon and beach in a haze. The foreboding swoon promised possible rain the following day. Taking advantage of the ethereal beauty the night was, you had lured two absolutely wasted surfer guys that had been stumbling across the boardwalk now eagerly following you through the misty sands expecting a night of thrills once you reached the caves. Calmly humming, you dragged your toes over the damp sands while wisps of ocean waves tempted to reach your feet. At the last stretch you waded through the shallows, cautiously climbing up onto slick mossy rocks when you reached the mouth of the cave. "C'mon boys. My friends are just dying to meet you," you purred.
The high fives and penis innuendos were short lived when a flurry of dark figures swooped them into the air. You simply say atop the wet rocks with your knees delicately held against your chest. The screams and gurgled cries were lost to the ocean, and soon a familiar face poked from above looking into the cave.
"Peek-a-boo," Marko teased, hanging off the roof of the cave before swinging next to you. "Have I ever told you, you have awesome taste in meals for a human?"
"Is that you, or the boozey blood talking," you asked with a giggle, smearing the blood off his cheeks to steal a quick kiss.
"Bow don't go taking all of her, Marko." You looked up, watching David swoop in coated in bloody stains with Paul and Dwayne trailing behind.
"Sorry I could only bring you five people tonight guys, the fog coming in scared off whatever was left on the boardwalk. I barely caught those last two leaving the bar."
"Don't even kitty-cat, you already brought us way more than we expected," Paul protested, hanging on your shoulders from behind.
Dwayne nodded, still leaning up against the soggy cave. "Five is enough to keep us full, princess, you did plenty."
So with another successful night of feeding the boys were left ready to rest as 5 am rolled around. The sun tempted to rise before they had reached the cave, the boys slipping away to their dark hovel after giving you a mess of good night, or rather, good morning kisses. Although you often went to bed shortly after a night out, this morning you felt a surge of energy keeping you up. Thankfully it was a gloomy grey sky, causing minimal sunlight to burst through the slivers and cracks leaving the possibility still open that one of them would come to sleep beside you. Until then you chiseled away the boredom with a pair of headphones and a pile of comic books, flipping through the pages with eager anticipation for the next scene. Two hours barely dragged by, leaving you rolling over your bed in misery. Staring at the ceiling you debated sneaking into the cave. Maybe drag a blanket and a pillow, cuddle up on the ledge.. and then David would give you an earful for not only sleeping where you could fall but climbing through the tunnels. Oh well. It was only- 7:30 am. Perhaps you should spend the day out? But, something felt off.
You sat up, pulling off your headphones trying to listen for anything out of the ordinary. There was a disturbing still to the room, even the ocean sounded distant.
 Then without warning, a firm hand clamped over your mouth from behind. You tried to wildly thrash and scream, but the sounds were heavily muffled under the thick layers of a towel. There seemed to be another who was running in front of you to grab at your wild legs still getting in every possible hit you could. They were whisper-yelling, demanding you keep your voice down. To hell with that! You managed to kick one in the face! The struggle dragged out for easily five minutes by this point. It always seemed to work faster in fiction, instead it dragged out for what felt like forever. The scent burned your lungs, it was getting harder to breathe, your resistance wavered as the drag of exhaustion continued to claw at your eyes. Your violent thrashing became a few heavy swings of your shoulders, until you could barely move anymore. It was impossible to fight the monstrous sleep they forced you into. Your body dropped into unconsciousness, finally able to breathe as you slipped away in the darkness.
Marko stirred in his sleep, swearing he could hear you screaming just outside. It wasn't until he opened his eyes that he was able to relax. Quiet as the day is long. It must've been his imagination.
Flutters of light faded in and out of your peripheral vision. The more you saw, the more you heard. Two grumbling voices bickering back and forth.
"- I say we should just ice her now!"
"Not until we can smoke the rest of 'em out! A vampire rarely travels alone these days! The rest of them won't kill us as long as we have her!"
A verbal groan alerted their attention towards you as you shifted in place. It was still daytime, maybe mid afternoon? You honestly couldn't tell. When you tried to sit up you felt a sharp, worn resistance that kept your arms firmly in place. The rope rubbed your wrists raw. Your boots couldn't get any traction on the floor, it was covered in dust and old hay. Finally you were able to see those responsible for your capture.
"Oh you have got to be kidding," you announced, glaring at the two camo-clad brothers posing like suburban commandos. This was some old dusty barn, and you were kidnapped by the self proclaimed vampire hunters of Santa Carla, the Frog Brothers, Edgar and Allan. Typical.
"So, you guys have gone from murder to kidnapping. Well, I guess that's progress."
"The only murderer here is you, blood sucker," Edgar gruffly retorted, pointing a freshly sharpened stake in your face.
"Vampire? I'm in the sun you idiot!"
"We all know about you half bloods being in sunlight, you can't fool us." You didn't even realize the tall one spoke. His sneering upper lip wouldn't cease to display the disgust he held against you.
"You two must be sniffing too much old newsprint," you snorted. "There's no such thing as vampires."
That's when Edgar got close, tilting your chin up with the stake. "We saw you drawing those civilians to the cave for your little monster buddies."
His words hit you heavily. You were certain you had been careful, utterly positive. Instead not only had you been tailed, you had exposed the boys to a group of radical nutcases ready to kill. Now it was personal. Steeling your resolve, you took in a deep breath. "So what?"
Allan yanked you by your shirt, looking back into your eyes with his own hate. "Where are the others," he hissed.
With everything you had you tilted your head back and bashed your forehead against his. The force made your ears ring. They always did it in the movies, but no one ever said just how much it hurt. There was a dull sting where your skull had taken the brunt end of the attack while it traveled all the way to the back, a small trickle of what you could only assume was blood dripping off your forehead. Meanwhile the teen had fallen onto his back atop the filthy floor still grasping his forehead with a groan, Edgar jumping up over Allan ready to drive that stake into your heart.
"No!" Allan grabbed his brother by his shirt, just before it came inches to your heart. "We need her alive… for now."
With a smirk you sloshed around the spit in your mouth. As soon as Edgar turned to face you, you sent the congealed saliva in a forceful blast across. Direct hit. Edgar wiped away the disgusting phlegm off his eyes and in his rage quickly uncapped a bottle of holy water. Yes, a full water bottle of it, and doused you in it.
Great. Now you were tied up. bleeding, AND WET. You gave them a disinterested glare, cocking an eyebrow. "So, again, not a vampire. Believe me now?"
The two looked at each other and quickly huddled. They would mutter amongst themselves, occasionally peeking above to glare at you and your rolling eyes. Alright, so you were human. Even a head vampire couldn't be out in daylight, and half vampires couldn't handle holy water. But in a way that only made it worse! A living servant of the undead, a spy to lure helpless victims into their grasp, a caretaker of evil! A traitor to your own kind! That settled it then.
Groaning even grew tiresome by this point. You tried to wiggle out of your crude bonds, but you had to give them some semblance of credit, this was a damn good knot!
"Alright," Edgar boomed, catching you off guard. "You may be a human, but any ally of the undead is still an enemy, and we're not showing you an ounce of mercy!"
Allan nodded, and suddenly the atmosphere took a turn for gloomy. He watched with disinterest as you tried to wedge your heel into the ground to scoot away from them but it seemed to have no use. The struggle had you thrashing until you lost balance, flopping over on your side. He stomped over and wrenched you up by your shirt, this time keeping a cautious distance from your head.
 "If they're keeping you alive.. they must think you have some sort of value." Alan finally knelt down to your level with your shirt still clutched in his left hand, brandishing a hunting knife with the right. The glint of it shined in your eyes in a cruel afternoon glow. In its looming reflective surface you could see your own e/c eyes as wide as saucers. They didn't see you as human. You were an ally of their greatest enemy, just as "evil" as the vampires they were so determined to hunt. Being human was no longer a bargaining chip to prevent injury. "Call to them."
Your teeth ground until they hurt, jaw locked in place. "Go to fucking hell," you hiss.
Before you could land another blow to Allan's smug face, Edgar had grabbed you from behind to keep you in place. The blade lightly caressed the flesh of your upper arm, catching the folds of your skin leaving tiny knicks. It tempted the surface to break beneath it's cruel will as Allan repeated his command through gritted teeth. "Call. Them."
Threats of torture weren't enough to break your silence. Fine, so be it. The tip dug into your arm, skin peeling away in a stream of ruby leaving a trail behind. You sucked in a sharp hiss, but bit on your tongue before you could yelp.There was no way you'd let them get to the boys. If you had to die so they could live, so be it. You wouldn't let out so much as a whimper. Do your worst.
Late afternoon dragged out, clinging tightly to every ticking second until the sun gave way under its own weary weight. The moment night lifted, crowing hoots echoed the cave. Freedom at last! Paul swung out of the cave brimming with excitement, Dwayne flying out behind him and crashing onto a couch leaving a cloud of dust for him to sneeze out. David was the last to waltz out, looking towards your corner. Odd. You were usually the first up to greet them. It'd become almost expected by this point. Sensing David's confusion along with his own, Marko gleefully jumped down from the rafters over debris to reach your bed. Someone was certainly sleeping in!
"Y/N? C'mon baby girl, wake up! Time for..," he paused, pulling away the curtains to find your bed a disheveled mess. Your cassette tape had been eaten to shreds by your portable player, magazines and books thrown on the floor, wads of sheets kicked off topped by discarded plushies. "Guys, c'mere!"
Dwayne quickly jumped up, expecting you to be snuggled in bed like a baby bird in its nest. Instead he stood beside Marko and looked past the curtains at the disarray your little corner had become.
 "Since when does Y/N go out this late at night," Paul questioned from behind the two. Whoa, did a tornado come through here? He hopped over, pulling the trashed tape from your player.
"She doesn't," David said slowly, a flood of concern spilling into his head. Fully pushing the curtains away they all stepped in, looking for any sign of where you had gone.
Paul managed to wedge out the mess of black threading and plastic, getting a good look at what you had been listening to. Def Leppard's Hysteria Album. He had scrounged up some dough a few months ago for your birthday, you guys spent the whole weekend listening to it. For some reason you liked their gifts even more when they didn't just steal them. This was your favorite thing from him.. you'd never just leave it in the player to get trashed. "Dude what happened here?"
 David lifted your blankets, noticing an unfamiliar scent intruding over your delicate aroma. Someone else had been here. Someone who shouldn't have been here.
Marko was able to catch whiff of a gnarly chemical scent, bitter. Crouching down, it was almost missed. Amongst your belongings was an unfamiliar towel stained with some sort of fluid. Peeling the soggy rag off the ground he took a whiff and immediately scrunched up his nose. "Hey, David, man. Smell this. Is it familiar?"
David caught the drenched towel tossed his way and barely had to smell it to recognize the stench. Throwing it down he began storming out, standing in the center of the room trying to listen for your heartbeat. None.
"What is it? Where is she," Paul demanded. This was getting to be too much.
"This isn't a coincidence boys," David hissed, looking their way. "Someone took Y/N. That rag was drenched in some sort of concentrated chemical."
The boys grew solemn, David's words setting into each of them. Paul was enraged, already his red eyes seeping through. How dare anyone take you from him! He'll rip them apart!
Marko's silence held a cruel storm ready to burst, biting on his thumb to stifle any unsteady rage. All he could picture were horrid images of you being hurt. Fear and guilt overwhelmed him. That wasn't a dream, he really had heard you earlier crying for help. The shame of it made him clench his eyes shut. A cacophony of blame riddled his heart knowing you had been taken just beneath their noses. He shouldn't have left you alone, he should have checked on you the moment he thought something was wrong!
Dwayne stood in silence, slamming his fist against the wall. Crumbles of concrete dusted his busted knuckles that quickly healed in place. You were supposed to be theirs, and he failed to protect you! "We have to find her," he choked out, pushing a mess of black hair from his furrowed brow. The not knowing was killing him. It was killing all of them. You weren't just missing, you were stolen while they slept only feet away.
Even David felt an internal rage unlike anything he'd felt before, not only at the perpetrators, but at himself. A beast among men, eternal life with a bounty of strength worth a thousand. What fucking good was it when while he slept you were torn from your bed? But another thought sat heavy in his heart. Their hearing was impeccable, damn near perfect. Why hadn't you called them? A scream, a cry would be enough! He began to march over to your bed again, but a new perspective had just granted him a moment of clarity. Hidden just under your blankets was a broken strip of red cloth one could only assume was a headband. Clasped tightly in vengeful fists, David's eyes turned bloodshot. He knew exactly who took you.
You weren't even sure how many hours had gone by at this point. The brother's grew restless at your resolve. While they regrouped in the corner to reevaluate their plan, you had found a nail jutting out from the floorboards to scrape your ankles on, slowly sawing away the worn rope that kept your legs together. Any movement stung. Cuts decorated up your exposed thighs and arms. Fresh blood caked over dried wounds, dirt became mud by this point from the excessive wounds and had smeared up your legs. They had conflicting feelings about throwing any swings your way. You were surprised to hear Edgar verbally voice his hesitations regarding unleashing a blow on a girl. Allan stepped in, but came to the same conclusion that he couldn't hit you. Well, after four good catches to your face. Utterly moronic, a knife was far more painful. Perhaps it gave them some sort of distance from you, punching was just too personal. Still, your busted lip was not appreciative of the last minute sentiment. Part of you wanted to mock them. If you're going to kidnap and torture someone go all the way at least, don't puss out half way through. But, you had other plans. You rapidly ran the rope across the nail while they bickered back and forth, nearly there.. and then you heard a massive thud land on the roof.
No. No not yet. You quickly dragged your feet as fast as you could while the brothers flew into a panic. But now your feet were free. Using your knees you hoisted yourself up to the nail, rapidly dragging your arms across to saw the straw away. Edgar and Allan began checking each other for weapons, and right as the rammed into the door again your wrists came free. Right!
You dashed for the brothers, snatching the bottles of water and dumping out every drop into the ground. They ran to grab you as you tried to bolt out the door, almost able to see Marko in the air above when suddenly someone had grabbed a fistful of your hair. That was enough to make you scream. A chunk was ripped from your scalp, the rest still tightly grasped in Edgar's fist.
David watched you bolt out the rickety old barn, ready to fly down to you until they caught you in their grasp. Paul didn't even hesitate once they snatched you back, that is until he caught sight of a shimmering glare wedged tightly against your throat.
"Get back," Edgar demanded, twisting your arm. The pain rang up through your back to the point you feared your shoulder was being pulled out of place. Your breathing began to become shallow when something cold slid on your throat, Edgar's free hand pressing the blade to your throat so tightly a thin line formed beneath it.
"You're fucking dead, you little shit," Marko hissed, jumping off the tin roof.
"M-Marko," you whimpered. You didn't dare move an inch.
"Back off death breath! Or your little pet becomes your next meal!"
With that warning Edgar tilted the blade just beneath your chin.
You tried to pull your head back to keep your distance from the foreboding piece, looking at Marko with fear.
"I'm sorry…"
Marko took a step back, unsure of how to approach this. Any moves he made could result in you being taken. He could see the barrage of wounds coating your skin. It made his shoulders shake, just aching to rip this punk's head off.
From inside the barn Dwayne hovered over the rafters, shattering the bulb that provided the only light in the room. Left in the dark, Allan grasped at the wooden stake in his hand. He could hear Dwayne rapidly flying through the barn, but he could never move fast enough to see him. "Come out you coward!"
Allan's scream alerted Edgar to his brother, turning his head just soon enough to watch him bled dry. Dwayne pried his fangs from the limp teen with a disgusted snarl in the dark, chucking the corpse at his brother's feet.
"NOOOOO!"
You took the chaos as an opportunity to escape, knocking his hand off of you and trying to bolt forward. Paul flew to snatch you, his hands tightly wrapped around yours when he heard the most hideous sound. Flesh tearing, bones cracking under the pressure with squelches of blood pittering down into the ground. His fingers trembled watching your delicate face drop in horror.
Edgar stood behind, only seeing the red of his rage as he drive the knife further into the small of your back. "Die you witch bitch!"
Those were his last words as David jutted his hand through Edgar's chest. You screamed in horror watching Edgar barely have a reaction to his own heart being held outside his body, collapsing into a hollow husk of flesh. What air you had was rapidly escaping your lungs, falling in a cascade into Paul's arms.
"No, no no! Y/N!" He dropped to his knees, holding you tightly against him. David knelt down beside you two, Marko running and skidding on his knees beside you while Dwayne leaned over you. They were all holding back tears, David's hand brushing over the hilt of the knife still jutting out.
"I'm so sorry," you hiccups between tears, fingers tangled in Paul's jacket. "I co-couldn't… let them g-get you."
Marko shushed you, running his fingers through your hair. "Its okay baby girl, we know. Just hang on, okay?"
David wedged you into a sitting position onto his knees, looking at Paul. "As soon as I pull," he began, pushing your hair away from your neck ", you bite."
The suggestion sent chills through you. "B-but.."
"Y/N, kitten, it's right through your lumbar artery," David whispered softly, lightly tapping the hilt with his gloved hand sending a dull pain through your entire back. "This has gotta come out. But when I pull it out, you could bleed to death."
"Please don't leave us, baby girl." Marko held your hand, looking at you in fear. He wasn't ready to lose you. None of them were. If you had to turn to stay with them, they'd do it in a heartbeat.
With a slow breath in, you hugged yourself against David and closed your eyes. Paul moved beside your neck as instructed, but Dwayne and Marko each took one of your wrists in their grasp. They all wanted to turn you. "O..okay.. d-do it.."
David kissed your cheek softly, clutching his hand around the knife. It hardly put up any resistance against his vampiric strength. You, on the other hand, couldn't help but cry out. Tears flooded your face, nails dragging against David's jacket. When they could see the tip of the blade surface, Paul dove his fangs into your shoulder. David bit into the left side of your neck, while Marko and Dwayne tore into your wrists. What should take hours only took moments.
Marko held onto you, closing his eyes tightly trying to muscle through your agonized cries before pulling his mouth off. Tears spilled from Paul's eyes, tearing away before he lost control. The taste of your bittersweet blood lingered on his tongue. Dwayne and David held you in place, and finally you had felt your heart stall, then stop.
You didn't need to catch your breath anymore, there was no longer any breath left to catch. "I'm sorry… I'm so so sorry,:" you whimpered, buried against David's chest. "Th-they had holy water, they were going to ambush you… I-I couldn't risk it.."
"No more, kitten," David shushed, holding your head on his chest.
"Don't worry about it princess." Dwayne ran his hands over your hair, kissing the top of your head. "This won't happen again."
"We are never letting you out of our sight again," Marko cooed, nuzzling your hand against his face. Paul gently kissed your available cheek, looking up at the black sky shifting to grey. "Guys, the sun's comin' up."
"So it is." David lifted you bridal style into his arms, kissing you softly. "Let's get you home babygirl. Tonight we'll take you out for your first hunt, but for now, you need your rest."
A burst up wind carried you off into the air, holding on tightly to David as he flew you over the ocean, above the clouds, back to the safety of the hotel. Your home. Forever.
Good Intentions
Hey dudes, so my MH has been awful lately and I’ve been struggling with alot. @cagestark was there for me these past few days and helped me feel so so much better.
I cannot thank you enough for letting me rant and not making feel dumb so as a thanks my brain created this.
WIS work in progress
"Anthony Edward Stark!" Pepper growls as she walks into his lab.
Tony ignores her and keeps soldering the circuit board
"Don't ignore me! I've had just enough of you." Pepper stops in front of him, tapping her foot in irritation on the tile floor.
"Whatever it is, I didn't do it. "
"Tony."
"Okay if I did to it, it wasn't my fault. It was Rhodey's idea!"
"Don't bring my fiance into this. This is all your fault and your going to be fixing it. I was hoping without my help but at this rate your going to need me and Natalie and maybe even Bruce."
That made his eyebrows raise in curiosity " You and them? What the hell did I do?"
"This is what you did." Pepper tossed a StarkPad across the countertop.
Tony lifted his head and put down his tools as he pressed play on the video on screen.
"Brucie man I don’t know what to tell you. I’m a lone wolf and no cute, sweet omega will change that!" Tony took a drink of his scotch.
Bruce eyed him curiously for a moment "Not even your sweet, cute intern?"
Tony gave him a pointed look "I don't what it is about me and Peter but drop it. He's a kid. I’m supposed to be his mentor."
"Supposed to? So that means you DO have feelings for him. Nat owes me 20 bucks."
"You betted on this?"
"Not the point. So, you do have feelings for him?"
" That isn’t the point. Regardless of how I feel, even if I didn’t mentor him since he was 14, Peter does not need an old wore out superhero for a boyfriend."
"And now I owe Bucky 20. Tony, don't you think you should let Peter make his own mind up? He's not 14 anymore."
"No, you’re right. He isn't 14. He's 19. A college student. I only just convinced him to take his second year at MIT. If I say anything he's going to try and get back in NYU to be closer and the universe has done enough to stall and fuck with his future. Peter deserves the best and I sure as shit aint it." without another word, Tony downed what was left of his scotch and headed for the door.
"Tony you don't have to bolt out of the room."
"I do if you’re going to keep bringing up Peter because I'll be blue in the face until you get the fact it will never ever happen between us."
"I won’t say another word, just sit down."
Tony eyed him suspiciously
"What? Okay on one condition. You grab me a beer."
Tony rolled his eyes but walked over to the bar, pouring himself another then grabbing Bruce his beer. Just as he tossed it to the other man Natalie came storming into the living room.
"What the fuck Stark?!"
Pepper paused the video. "Get it now?"
Tony sighed "I don't know what you want from me Pep. You know as well as I do, I'm better off by myself."
"No. You’re afraid. Just like you were afraid of being happy with me. Then when you were afraid of being a father. Who helped you through that Tony?"
"Pepper..."
"Who was it Tony? Tell me."
"Peter okay!" Tony stormed off
"Don't you dare walk away from me!" Pepper followed him "When are you going to wake up Tony?  You've changed and become more of the decent man I knew you could be and as much as I am loathe to admit it, that is because of Peter. You have a chance here, to finally be with someone that is your equal and you’re going to ruin it if you don't get your head out of your damn asshole!"
Tony swallowed. "I fucking know okay? but just because Peter is great for me doesn't mean I'm great for him."
Pepper sighed "If you didn't make him happy, he wouldn't have been crying on Bucky's shoulder for the past week. If you don't do something soon, he may just sweep Peter up himself."
At that Tony's head whips around and gave Pepper a pointed look. "Your bluffing."
Pepper rolled her eyes. "Why would I bluff about that? Friday? Can you project the living room feed from last Tuesday, around early evening?"
"Of course."
A projection appears on the left wall facing Tony of the living room of the Avengers wings.
"Good god Bucky. I was so fucking dumb."
"Peter no, not even close." Bucky walks over to the window where the younger man was standing. "Stark will always be Stark and if he isn’t ready for commitment that has nothing to do with you."
"But you weren't there. You didn’t hear him. How casual he sounded."
"Not that I'm defending him, but he didn't know you were there, maybe just maybe he was putting up a front to Banner?"
Peter sniffed. "I don't think so, Bruce isn't like that. He was annoyed that he was being pestered about us and made it noticeably clear it would never happen. So instead of being a stupid lovesick teenager, I'm a stupid lovesick adult."
Bucky squeezed Peter's shoulder. "Don't talk like that. You're not stupid. He is. You’re a catch Peter and if he can't see that well that's his loss."
“I don’t see how any of this-“
"Show us 4 days ago same room, same time." Pepper cut him off.
"God now he's ignoring me Bucky!" Peter paced back and forth across the room
"Will you please sit down? your making me nauseous." Bucky gestured to the couch across from the chair he was currently in.
Peter sighed as he practically threw himself down on the couch. "Ignoring me. Bucky he never ever does that. "
"Tony ignores everybody at least once a week."
"But not me." Peter pointed out. "He found out I heard him. he must have." Peter's voice started to break the end.
"Pete c'mon that's probably a coincidence."
Peter glared at the super solider "Yeah because Tony would randomly ignore me for the first time in 4ish years days after I heard him say he would never ever be with me no matter what."
"Now your exaggerating. Peter you guys were literally snuggling last week during movie night. He wouldn’t do that if he wasn’t interested."
"Well clearly not interested enough."
"Okay. Ready for the next one?"She asked as the clip ended.
Tony rolled his eyes "Haven't you shown me enough? I get it. Peter is hurting but that doesn’t change a thing."
"Exactly my point, this last one though, with any luck will pull your head out of your ass. Ready?"
Tony looked at her in confusion. "Fine."
"Okay Friday, show us Movie Night, 7pm."
"Okay guys ready?" Steve asked, standing in front of the room scanning to make sure everyone was here.
"No, Peter and Tony aren’t here yet."
"Yeah well it was about time that Tony would start ditching again." Clint said as he grabbed some of Nat’s popcorn.
"I'll go find Peter, one sec." Nat handed Clint the bowl and headed down the hall. Returning a few minutes later with Peter trailing behind her, looking for a seat.
"Don’t even think about it Peter." Clint grinned, stretching out like a cat on the sofa which made Nat roll her eyes.
"I can move him if you want Peter." Nat said, leaning towards his legs.
Before Peter could respond, Bucky padded the cushion next to him on the loveseat "C'mon over Pete."
Peter smiled and nodded, "Thanks but I’ll just sit by Buck." Nat raised her eyebrow but said nothing.
"Okay we good? Can we start?" Steve asked, started the movie and quickly sitting down when no one objected.
Bucky laid his arm down on the back of the coach, whispering something in Peter's ear which made him giggle. Peter looked to the door for a few minutes before his shoulders sagged and he leaned into the other man as he got comfortable. Smacking his flesh arm and gave him a look at whatever Bucky had said, his voice lower than the movie.
Tony squinted at the feed even after it stopped. After 5 minutes of him being silent Pepper spoke up.
"So?"
"Tony?"
"Tony!!" Pepper practically shouted
He shook his head and turned to her. "Uh sorry what?"
"Did that perhaps hit a nerve?"
"Nerve? No. "
Pepper just looked at him for a few minutes, it was clear he needed a few moments to process what he just saw.
"They use nicknames now?"
Pepper rolled her eyes "That's what your taking out of this?"
"Bucky never called Peter by anything other than Little Spider or Parker... And what’s with Peter calling him Buck?"
"Well I think its best I just leave you to brainstorm why your love interest is calling Captain Americas ex-boyfriend nicknames." Her heels clicking as she crossed the room heading for the elevator.
"Wait Pepper. What was the point? how is this anything to do with me?"
Pepper turned from her spot in the doorway “Well if you didn't hide out in here and yes that’s exactly what you were doing. Peter would have been snuggled up to you instead of the super solider."
"That’s what he was looking at, he was disappointed I wasn’t there!" By the time Tony spoke again Pepper was long gone and he was left to his own devices.
"Fri?"
"Yes Boss?"
"Lock down the lab, we need to work that last video and amplify the sounds while lowering the volume of the surround sound. "
"Activating Do not Disturb protocol, Keep current exception list of Ms. Potts. Rhodey, Mr. Banner and Peter?"
Tony sighed. "Since when have you referred to him as Peter? Who added him to the exception list without my permission?"
"Would you rather i refer to him as Petey? Petey Pie or perhaps Spiderling?"
Tony chuckled. "Peter is fine. How did he end up on the exception list?"
"As per my programming sir. The algorithms showed you and Peter have an active role in each other’s lives, physically and online. It was only fitting to add him to the list. Should I remove him now that its changed?"
"Changed? " Tony questioned his AI
"Peter has not been in the lab or Avenger corridors at the same time as you in the last week, you haven't contacted each other online either. There seems to be lack of interacting in the last week. "
"Who is on Peter's exception list?"
" Ms. Widow, Ned Leeds, Bucky Barnes and yourself Sir."
"Ms. Widow?"
"As per Peter's instructions I was to refer to his contacts as Ms. Widow, Ned Leeds, Bucky Barnes and Tones."
Tony felt a smile creep up on his face at Peters chosen nickname. "No nickname for the super soldier?"
"Negative Boss. Shall Peter stay on your protocol?"
"Yeah but change Rhodey to Platypus and Peter to Petey Pie. It has a ring to it doesn't it?"
"It does sir, very fitting for him.  Shall I alert to Ms. Potts You’ve made progress?"
"Don’t you dare. Now back to amplifying the sounds excluding the movie please?"
"Yes sir."
