i REFUSE to believe that the ravenclaws did not have a drawing board in the common room to find out who the heir of slytherin is
it all started with a late-night conversation in the dorms
a 5th year ravenclaw was like “a lil sus that potter was there at the scene of the crime...aND THEN LAST YEAR HE ALLEGEDLY TOOK DOWN QUIRELL WHO WAS ACTUALLY VOLDEMORT??”
their ravenclaw friend goes “we should write this down”
notes spread out in the common room that lead to sharing theories
that lead to debates at 1 am on whether or not potter was innocent
a drunk ass ravenclaw who does some of their best work when drunk started drawing a timeline of events
the timeline kept getting added and added until they just decided to quit fucking around and realize that this was definitely serious (and definitely the plot of a best selling mystery novel that they want to be a part of) and they want answers
they become obsessed.
“dude were supposed to be studying for OWLs right now”
“IN A MINUTE BETHANY, I HAVE A FEELING THAT THE HEIR IS ACTUALLY FILCH”
the prefects dont do anything about it. in fact, they are quite invested
2nd years come in everyday with new information about harry
“OKOK HEAR ME OUT HE ‘ACCIDENTALLY’ PUT MILK BEFORE THE CHEERIOWLS AND WHEN WE CONFRONTED HIM ABOUT IT HE SAID HE WAS TIRED—
“but he could be tired from quidditch practice, wood is a bloody maniac about—
“MAYBE HE WAS OUT LATE KILLING PEOPLE”
some ravenclaws will get up in the middle of the night just to reorganize the board
“for merlins sake, USE THE BLUE MARKER PEOPLE! IT RUINS THE WHOLE AESTHETIC”
the yarn used has glitter in it and they charmed it to be glow in the dark
yes, they braided it into their hair
one evening a couple of kids come bursting in
“whats the matter?”
silence all around, the attention is on them
they get parchment. the crayola scented blue marker. the glitter yarn.
a couple seconds later they present the new information on the board
POTTER IS A PARSELMOUTH
SLYTHERIN’S EMBLEMATIC ANIMAL IS A SNAKE
SALAZAR WAS ALSO A PARSELMOUTH
“its official lads...” *drops marker*
common room freaks out
“OKAY MAYBE SLYTHERIN WONT COME AFTER US RIGHT??? I MEAN WE GET ALONG WELL”
“BUT POTTERS A GRYFFINDOR HOW WHY”
“b-but hes the boy wh-who defeated— oh no” *rocks back and forth in a corner
“LETS ALL JUST CHILL OUT ALRIGHT?? SHOULD WE TELL FLITWICK?”
“AND SNITCH?? WHEN DID WE TURN OUR BACKS ON WHO WE ARE”
“PEOPLE ARE DYING BETHANY”
flitwick finds out anyway and hes visually concerned
but also impressed... so he fills them in with more information
they relax, because when you think about it potter just has the worst luck in the entire world
they keep the drawing board and they would just stare at it. admire its beauty.
the ravenclaw purebloods and halfbloods make jokes now about the heir
“literally fml, i have no clue on how to do a protean charm and we have the practical tomorrowww can the heir just kill me already?”
muggleborn ravenclaws have to knock on wood everytime they try to joke
oliver isnt happy about this
another great day! classes are canceled, im kind of hungry right now maybe i can convince abbott to tell me where the— OH FUCK THERES A BODY AND A GHOST A BODY AND A GHOST
they dash to the common room and bring out the board
“were gonna need more yarn”
they seek help from madam pince asking questions “what kind of magic is involved that makes the petrified state only curable by a mandrake? when u petrify someone u can easily remove it with a finite...no no were trying to figure it out...madam pince please theres no need to get professor dumbledore involved—
all hell breaks loose when penelope clearwater gets petrified
“THAT DOES IT! ITS DEFINITELY A SLYTHERIN NO ONE IN SLYTHERINS BEEN PETRIFIED”
hagrid and dumbledore has left and the attacks have stopped...what the actual fu
they try to connect dumbledore and grindelwald to the attacks
some suspect draco malfoy, who seems awfully chipper about this whole thing
“malfoy? no way, takes some real serious wizard to do that stuff...he cant even transfigure the mouse into a pin cushion”
“what if hes faking that hes bad so no one would suspect him?”
they pick a fight with mcgonagoll when they find out exams are still going on
“PEOPLE ARE DYING MINER—im sorry professor mcgonagoll i didnt mean to shout”
OH NO THE GIRL WEASLEY DIED
“NO NO I AM DONE WITH THIS SCHOOL IM TRANSFERRING TO MAHOUTOKORO”
OH YES THE GIRL WEASLEY LIVED
DAMN POTTER SAVED HER?? lol no wonder she fancied him
instead of joining the party, they stay in the common room and try to piece everything together
some ravenclaws went out to ask harry questions but instead listened to ron who quite enjoyed the attention
they got the page, they got the story, and now were gonna a-beautiful-freaking-mind up in this bitch.

Bring Back the Bastard Daily Prompts
Hello, folks! I'm posting these two weeks before we begin our fest, on September 1st, to give folks some inspiration on what to write each day as we celebrate Severus Snape's pettiest, most dastardly moments. I specifically picked out moments Snaters always harp on, that Snapedom personally enjoys--from any moment with Trevor to bitching at Lupin at Sirius, to the moments that Lily turns away and Dumbledore's face flashes with disgust--sure, he's a bastard, but he's our bastard, and that's what we like about him. You don't want him? Good. We'll keep him. Here are 30 scene prompts for 30 days--it's a long list, pulled chronologically from all seven books, but I found that it reminded me of everything I love about this character. The moments where he's called deranged, the moments where he slips into all-caps, the ugliest moments of the soul. Hope yall enjoy. Excited to kick off the fest starting September 1st, and absolutely excited to see what Snapedom will do. Let's Bring Back the Bastard! The prompts are below the readmore.
Day 1: The Scar Professor Quirrell, in his absurd turban, was talking to a teacheer with greasy black hair, a hooked nose, and sallow skin. It happened very suddenly. The hook-nosed teacher looked past Quirrell's turban straight into Harry's eyes--and a sharp, hot pain shot across the scar on Harry's forehead. "Ouch!" Harry clapped a hand to his head. "What is it?" asked Percy. "N-nothing." The pain had gone as quickly as it had come. Harder to shake off was the feeling Harry had gotten from the teacher's look--a felling that he didn't like Harry at all. "Who's that teacher talking to Professor Quirrell?" he asked Percy. "Oh, you know Quirrell already, do you? No wonder he's looking so nervous, that's Professor Snape. He teaches Potions, but he doesn't want to--everyone knows he's after Quirrell's job. Knows an awful lot about the Dark Arts, Snape."
Day 2: Bad Impressions Snape, like Flitwick, started the class by taking the roll call, and like Flitwick, he paused at Harry's name. "Ah, yes," he said softly. "Harry Potter. Our new--celebrity."
Day 3: Potions Class "Potter!" said Snape suddenly "What would I get if I added powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of wormwood?" Powdered root of asphodel to an infusion of what? Harry glanced at Ron, who looked as stumped as he was; Hermione's hand shot into the air. "I don't know, sir," said Harry. Snape's lips curled into a sneer. "Tut, tut--fame clearly isn't everything."
Day 4: A Horrible Sight Snape and Filch were inside, alone. Snape was holding his robes above his knees. One of his legs was bloody and mangled. Filch was handing Snape bandages. "Blasted thing," Snape was saying. "How are you supposed to keep your eyes on all three heads at once?" Harry tried to shut the door quietly, but-- "POTTER!" Snape's face was twisted with fury as he dropped his robes quickly to hide his leg. Harry gulped. "I just wondered if I could have my book back." "GET OUT! OUT!"
Day 5: Maybe He's Ill "Hang on..." Harry muttered to Ron. "There's an empty chair at the staff table...Where's Snape?" Professor Severus Snape was Harry's least favorite teacher. Harry also happened to be Snape's least favorite student. Cruel, sarcastic, and disliked by everybody except the students from his own House (Slytherin), Snape taught Potions. "Maybe he's ill!" said Ron hopefully. "Maybe he's left," said Harry, "because he missed out on the Defense Against the Dark Arts job again!" "Or he might have been sacked!" said Ron enthusiastically. "I mean, everyone hates him--" "Or maybe," said a very cold voice right behind them, "he's waiting to hear why you two didn't arrive on the school train."
Day 6: Slytherin Takes the Field "But I booked the field!" said Wood, positively spitting with rage. "But I booked it!" "Ah," said Flint. "But I've got a specially signed note here from Professor Snape. 'I, Professor S. Snape, give the Slytherin team permission to practice today on the Quidditch field owing to the need to train their new Seeker.'"
Day 7: No Quidditch For You! "I suggest, Headmaster, that Potter is not being entirely truthful," he said. "It might be a good idea if he were deprived of certain privileges until he is ready to tell us the whole story. I personally feel he should be taken off the Gryffindor Quidditch team until he is ready to be honest." "Really, Severus," said Professor McGonagall sharply, "I see no reason to stop the boy playing Quidditch. This cat wasn't hit over the head with a broomstick. There is no evidence at all that Potter has done anything wrong." Dumbledore was giving Harry a searching look. His twinkling light-blue gaze made Harry feel as though he were being X-rayed. "Innocent until proven guilty, Severus," he said firmly. Snape looked furious.
Day 8: Expelliarmus! "Let me introduce my assistant, Professor Snape," said Lockhart, flashing a wide smile. "He tells me he knows a tiny little bit about dueling himself and has sportingly agreed to help me with a short demonstration before we begin. Now, I don't want any of you youngsters to worry--you'll still have your Potions master when I'm through with him, never fear!" "Wouldn't it be good if they finished each other off?" Ron muttered in Harry's ear. Snape's upper lip was curling. Harry wondered why Lockhart was still smiling; if Snape had been looking at *him* like that he'd have been running as fast as he could in the opposite direction. Lockhart and Snape turned to face each other and bowed; at least, Lockhart did, with much twirling of his hands, whereas Snape jerked his head irritably. Then they raised their wands like swords in front of them. "As you see, we are holding our wands in the accepted combative position," Lockhart told the silent crowd. "On the count of three, we will cast our fist spells. Neither of us will be aiming to kill, of course." "I wouldn't bet on that," Harry murmured, watching Snape baring his teeth. "One--two--three--" Both of them swung their wands above their heads and pointed them at their opponent; Snape cried: "Expelliarmus!" There was a dazzling flash of scarlet light and Lockhart was blasted off his feet. He flew backward off the stage, smashed into the wall, and slid down it to sprawl on the floor.
Day 9: Only Bite Him A Little Bit, Please "Don't move, Potter," said Snape lazily, clearly enjoying the sight of Harry standing motionless, eye to eye with the angry snake. "I'll get rid of it..."
Day 10: Poisoning Trevor The end of the lesson in sight, Snape strode over to Neville, who was cowering by his cauldron. "Everyone gather 'round," said Snape, his black eyes glittering, "and watch what happens to Longbottom's toad. If he has managed to produce a Shrinking Solution, it will shrink to a tadpole. If, as I don't doubt, he has done it wrong, his toad is likely to be poisoned." The Gryffindors watched fearfully. The Slytherins looked excited. Snape picked up Trevor the toad in his left hand and dipped a small spoon into Neville's potion, which was now green. He trickled a few drops down Trevor's throat. There was a moment of hushed silence, in which Trevor gulped; then there was a small op, and Trevor the tadpole was wriggling in Snape's palm. The Gryffindors burst into applause. Snape, looking sour, pulled a small bottle from the pocket of his robe, poured a few drops on top of Trevor, and he reappeared suddenly, fully grown. "Five points from Gryffindor," said Snape, which wiped smiles from every face. "I told you not to help him, Miss Granger. Class dismissed."
Day 11: Insufferable Know-It-All Everyone sat in motionless silence; everyone except Hermione, whose hand, as it so often did, had shot straight into the air. "Anyone?" Snape said, ignoring Hermione. His twisted smile was back. "Are you telling me that Professor Lupin hasn't even taught you the basic distinction between--" "We told you," said Parvati suddenly, "we haven't got as far as werewolves yet, we're still on--" "Silence!" snarled Snape. "Well, well, well, I never thought I'd meet a third-year class who wouldn't even recognize a werewolf when they saw one. I shall make a point of informing Professor Dumbledore how very behind you all are..." "Please, sir," said Hermione, whose hand was still in the air, "the werewolf differs from the true wolf in several small ways. The snout of the werewolf--" "That is the second time you have spoken out of turn, Miss Granger," said Snape coolly. "Fire more points from Gryffindor for being an insufferable know-it-all."
Day 12: Your Saintly Father "I would hate for you to run away with a false idea of your father, Potter," he said, a terrible grin twisting his face. "Have you been imagining some act of glorious heroism? Then let me correct you--your saintly father and his friends played a highly amusing joke on me that would have resulted in my death if your father hadn't gotten cold feet at the last moment. There was nothing brave about what he did. He was saving his own skin as much as mine. Had their joke succeeded, he would have been expelled from Hogwarts." Snape's uneven, yellowish teeth were bared.
Day 13: Don't Talk About What You Don't Understand "KEEP QUIET, YOU STUPID GIRL!" Snape shouted, looking suddenly quite deranged. "DON'T TALK ABOUT WHAT YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND!" A few sparks shot out of the end o his wand, which was still pointed at Black's face. Hermione fell silent. "Vengeance is very sweet," Snape breathed at Black. "How I hoped I would be the one to catch you..." "The joke's on you again, Severus," Black snarled. "As long as this boy brings his rat up to the castle" --he jerked his head at Ron-- "I'll come quietly...." "Up to the castle?" said Snape silkily. "I don't think we need to go that far. All I have to do is call the dementors once we get out of the Willow. They'll be very pleased to see you, Black...pleased enough to give you a little Kiss, I daresay...."
Day 14: A Great Disappointment "He must have Disapparated, Severus. We should have let somebody in the room with him. When this gets out--" "HE DIDN'T DISAPPARATE!" Snape roared, now very close at hand. "YOU CAN'T APPARATE *OR* DISAPPARATE INSIDE THIS CASTLE! THIS--HAS--SOMETHING--TO--DO--WITH--POTTER!" "Severus--be reasonable--Harry has been locked up--" BAM. The door of the hospital wing burst open. Fudge, Snape, and Dumbledore came striding into the ward. Dumbledore alone looked calm. Indeed, he looked as though he was quite enjoying himself. Fudge appeared angry. But Snape was beside himself. "OUT WITH IT, POTTER!" he bellowed. "WHAT DID YOU DO?" "Professor Snape!" shrieked Madam Pomfrey. "Control yourself!" "See here, Snape, be reasonable," said Fudge. "This door's been locked, we just saw--" "THEY HELPED HIM ESCAPE, I KNOW IT!" Snape howled, pointing at Harry and Hermione. His face was twisted; spit was flying from his mouth. "Calm down, man!" Fudge barked. "You're talking nonsense!" "YOU DON'T KNOW POTTER!" shrieked Snape. "HE DID IT, I KNOW HE DID IT--" "That will do, Severus," said Dumbledore quietly. "Think about what you are saying. This door has been locked since I left the war ten minutes ago. Madam Pomfrey, have these students left their beds?" "Of course not!" said Madam Pomfrey, bristling. "I would have heard them!" "Well, there you have it, Severus," said Dumbledore calmly. "Unless you are suggesting that Harry and Hermione are able to be in two places at once, I'm afraid I don't see any point in troubling them further." Snape stood there, seething, staring from Fudge, who looked thoroughly shocked at his behavior, to Dumbledore, whose eyes were twinkling behind his glasses. Snape whirled about, robes swishing behind him, and stormed out of the ward. "Fellow seems quite unbalanced," said Fudge, staring after him. "I'd watch out for him if I were you, Dumbledore." "Oh, he's not unbalanced," said Dumbledore quietly. "He's just suffered a severe disappointment."
Day 15: Haven't You Heard? "Blimey, haven' yeh heard?" said Hagrid, his smile fading a little. He lowered his voice, even though there was nobody in sight. "Er--Snape told all the Slytherins this mornin'....Thought everyone'd know by now...Professor Lupin's a werewolf, see. An' he was loose on the grounds las' night...He's packin' now, o' course."
Day 16: I See No Difference "And what is all this noise about?" said a soft, deadly voice. Snape had arrived. The Slytherins clamored to give their explanations; Snape pointed a long yellow finger at Malfoy and said, "Explain." "Potter attacked me, sir--" "We attacked each other at the same time!" Harry shouted. "--and he hit Goyle--look--" Snape examined Goyle, whose face now resembled something that would have been at home in a book on poisonous fungi. "Hospital wing, Goyle," Snape said calmly. "Malfoy got Hermione!" Ron said. "Look!" He forced Hermione to show Snape her teeth--she was doing her best to hide them with her hands, though this was difficult as they had now grown down past her collar. Pansy Parkinson and the other Slytherin girls were doubled up with silent giggles, pointing at Hermione from behind Snape's back. Snape looked coldly at Hermione, then said, "I see no difference."
Day 17: The Dark Mark Snape strode forward, past Dumbledore, pulling up the left sleeve of his robes as he went. He struck out his forearm and showed it to Fudge, who recoiled. "There," said Snape harshly. "There. The Dark Mark. It is not as clear as it was an hour or so ago, when it burned black, but you can still see it. Every Death Eater had the sign burned into him by the Dark Lord. It was a means of distinguishing one another, and his means of summoning us to him. When he touched the Mark of any Death Eater, we were to Disapparate, and Apparate, instantly, at his side. This Mark has been growing clearer all year. Karkaroff's too. Why do you think Karkaroff fled tonight? We both felt the Mark burn. We both knew he had returned. Karkaroff fears the Dark Lord's vengeance. He betrayed too many of his fellow Death Eater to be sure of a welcome back into the fold."
Day 18: If You Are Ready...If You Are Prepared... "Severus," said Dumbledore, turning to Snape, "you know what I must ask you to do. If you are ready...if you are prepared..." "I am," said Snape. He looked slightly paler than usual, and his cold, black eyes glittered strangely. "Then good luck," said Dumbledore, and he watched, with a trace of apprehension on his face, as Snape swept wordlessly after Sirius.
Day 19: Obviously "Now...how long have you been teaching at Hogwarts?" she asked, her quill poised over her clipboard. "Fourteen years," Snape replied. His expression was unfathomable. His eyes on Snape, Harry added a few drops to his potion; it hissed menacingly and turned from turquoise to orange. "You applied first for the Defense Against the Dark Arts post, I believe?" Professor Umbridge asked Snape. "Yes," said Snape quietly. "But you were unsuccessful?" Snape's lip curled. "Obviously." Professor Umbridge scribbled on her clipboard. "And you have applied regularly for the Defense Against the Dark Arts post since you first joined the school, I believe?" "Yes," said Snape quietly, barely moving his lips. He looked very angry. "Do you have any idea why Dumbledore has consistently refused to appoint you?" asked Umbridge. "I suggest you ask him," said Snape jerkily. "Oh I shall," said Professor Umbridge with a sweet smile. "I suppose this is relevant?" Snape asked, his black eyes narrowed. "Oh yes," said Professor Umbridge. "Yes, the Ministry wants a thorough understanding of teachers'--er--backgrounds...." She turned away, walked over to Pansy Parkinson, and began questioning her about the lessons. Snape looked around at Harry and their eyes met for a second. Harry hastily dropped his gaze to his potion, which was now congealing foully and giving off a strong smell of burned rubber. "No marks again, then, Potter," said Snape maliciously, emptying Harry's cauldron with a wave of his wand. "You will write me an essay on the correct composition of this potion, indicating how and why you went wrong, to be handed in next lesson, do you understand?"
Day 20: Very Like His Father "How touching," Snape sneered. "But surely you have noticed that Potter is very like his father?" Yes, I have," said Sirius proudly. "Well then, you'll know he's so arrogant that criticism simply bounces off him," Snape said sleekly. Sirius pushed his chair roughly aside and strode around the table toward Snape, pulling out his wand as he went; Snape whipped out his own. They were squaring up to each other, Sirius looking livid, Snape calculating, his eyes darting from Sirius' wand-tip to his face. "Sirius!" said Harry loudly, but Sirius appeared not to hear him. "I've warned you, Snivellus," said Sirius, his face barely a foot from Snape's, "I don't care if Dumbledore thinks you've reformed, I know better." "Oh, but why don't you tell him so?" whispered Snape. "Or are you afraid he might not take the advice of a man who has been hiding inside his mother's house for six months very seriously?" "Tell me, how is Lucius Malfoy these days? I expect he's delighted his lapdog's working at Hogwarts, isn't he?" "Speaking of dogs," said Snape softly, "did you know that Lucius Malfoy recognized you last time you risked a little jaunt outside? Clever idea, Black, getting yourself seen on a safe station platform...gave you a cast-iron excuse not to leave your hidey-hole in future, didn't it?" Sirius raised his wand. "NO!" Harry yelled, vaulting over the table and trying to get in between them, "Sirius, don't--" "Are you calling me a coward?" roared Sirius, trying to push Harry out of the way, but Harry would not budge. "Why, yes, I suppose I am," said Snape.
Day 21: Wormtail's Whine "We...we are alone, aren't we?" Narcissa asked quietly. "Yes, of course. Well, Wormtail's here, but we're not counting vermin, are we?" He pointed his wand at the wall of books behind him and with a bang, a hidden door flew open, revealing a narrow staircase upon which a small man stood frozen. "As you have clearly realized, Wormtail, we have guests," said Snape lazily. The man crept, hunchbacked, down the last few steps and moved into the room. He had small, watery eyes, a pointed nose, and wore an unpleasant simper. His left hand was caressing his right, which looked as though it was encased in a bright silver glove. "Narcissa!" he said, in a squeaky voice. "And Bellatrix! How charming--" "Wormtail will get us drinks, if you'd like them," said Snape. "And then he will return to his bedroom." Wormtail winced as though Snape had thrown something at him. "I am not your servant!" he squeaked, avoiding Snape's eyes. "Really? I was under the impression that the Dark Lord placed you here to assist me." "To assist, yes--but not to make you drinks and--clean your house!" "I had no idea, Wormtail, that you were craving more dangerous assignments," said Snape silkily. "This can be easily arranged: I shall speak to the Dark Lord--" "I can speak to him if I want to!" "Of course you can," said Snape, sneering. "But in the meantime, bring us drinks. Some of the elf-made wine will do."
Day 22: A Loving Caress Snape set off around the edge of the room, speaking now in a lower voice; the class craned their necks to keep him in view. "The Dark Arts," said Snape, "are many, varied, ever-changing, and eternal. Fighting them is like fighting a many-headed monster, which, each time a neck is severed, sprouts a head even fiercer and cleverer than before. You are fighting that which is unfixed, mutating, indestructible." Harry stared at Snape. It was surely one thing to respect the Dark Arts as a dangerous enemy, another to speak of them, as Snape was doing, with a loving caress in his voice? "Your defenses," said Snape, a little louder, "must therefore be as flexible and inventive as the arts you seek to undo. These pictures" --he indicated a few of them as he swept past-- "give a fair representation of what happens to those who suffer, for instance, the Cruciatus Curse" --he waved a hand toward a witch who was clearly shrieking in agony-- "feel the Dementor's Kiss" --a wizard lying huddled and blank-eyed, slumped against a wall-- "or provoke the aggression of the Inferius" --a bloody mass upon the ground.
Day 23: Better People "What does it matter?" said Malfoy. "Defense Against the Dark Arts--it's all just a joke, isn't it, an act? Like an of us need protecting against the Dark Arts--" "It is an act that is crucial to success, Draco!" said Snape. "Where do you think I would have been all these years, if I had not known how to act? Now listen to me! You are being incautious, wandering around at night, getting yourself caught, and if you are placing your reliance in assistants like Crabbe and Goyle--" "They're not the only ones, I've got other people on my side, better people!" "Then why not confide in me, and I can--" "I know what you're up to! You want to steal my glory!" There was another pause, then Snape said coldly, "You are speaking like a child. I quite understand that your father's capture and imprisonment has upset you, but--"
Day 24: Revulsion and Hatred Etched on His Face "Severus..." The sound frightened Harry beyond anything he had experienced all evening. For the first time, Dumbledore was pleading. Snape said nothing, but walked forward and pushed Malfoy roughly out of the way. The three Death Eaters fell back without a word. Even the werewolf seemed cowed. Snape gazed for a moment at Dumbledore, and there was revulsion and hatred etched in the harsh lines of his face. "Severus...please..." Snape raised his wand and pointed it directly at Dumbledore. "Avada Kedavra!"
Day 25: Don't Call Me Coward Mustering all his powers of concentration, Harry thought, Levi-- "No, Potter!" screamed Snape. There was a loud BANG and Harry was soaring backward, hitting the ground hard again, and this time his wand flew out of his hand. He could hear Hagrid yelling and Fang howling as Snape closed in and looked down on him where he lay, wandless and defenseless as Dumbledore had been. Snape's pale face, illuminated by the flaming cabin, was suffused with hatred just as it had been before he had cursed Dumbledore. "You dare use my own spells against me, Potter? It was I who invented them--I, the Half-Blood Prince! And you'd turn my inventions on me, like your filthy father, woudl you? I don't think so...no!" Harry had dived for his wand; Snape shot a hex at it and it flew feet away into the darkness and out of sight. "Kill me then," panted Harry, who felt no fear at all, but only rage and contempt. "Kill me like you killed him, you coward--" "DON'T--" screamed Snape, and his face was suddenly deranged, inhuman, as though he was in as much pain as the yelping, howling dog stuck in the burning house behind them-- "CALL ME COWARD!"
Day 26: The Guest Voldemort raised Lucius Malfoy's wand, pointed it directly at the slowing revolving figure suspended over the table, and gave it a tiny flick. The figure came to life with a groan and began to struggle against invisible bonds. "Do you recognize our guest, Severus?" asked Voldemort. Snape raised his eyes to the upside-down face. All of the Death Eaters were looking up at the captive now, as thought they had been given permission to show curiosity. As she revolved to face the firelight, the woman said in a cracked and terrified voice, "Severus! Help me!" "Ah, yes," said Snape as the prisoner turned slowly away again.
Day 27: I Regret It "All this long night, when I am on the brink of victory, I have sat here," said Voldemort, his voice barely louder than a whisper, "wondering, wondering why the Elder Wand refuses to be what it ought to be, refuses to perform as legend says it must perform for its rightful owner...and I think I have the answer." Snape did not speak. "Perhaps you already know it? You are a clever man, after all, Severus. You have been a good and faithful servant, and I regret what must happen." "My Lord--" "The Elder Wand cannot serve me properly, Severus, because I am not its true master. The Elder Wand belongs to the wizard who killed its last owner. You killed Albus Dumbledore. While you live, Severus, the Elder Wand cannot be truly mine." "My Lord!" Snape protested, raising his wand. "It cannot be any other way," said Voldemort. "I must master the wand, Severus. Master the wand, and I master Potter at last." And Voldemort swiped the air with the Elder Wand. It did nothing to Snape, who for a split second seemed to think he had been reprieved: But then Voldemort's intention became clear. The snake's cage was rolling through the air, and before Snape could do anything more than yell, it had encased him, head and shoulders, and Voldemort spoke in Parseltongue. "Kill." There was a terrible scream. Harry saw Snape's face losing the little color it had left; it whitened as his black eyes widened, as the snake's fangs pierced his neck, as he failed to push the enchanted cage off himself, as his knees gave way and he fell to the floor. "I regret it," said Voldemort coldly.
Day 28: You Hurt Her! "Tuney!" said Lily, surprise and welcome in her voice, but Snape had jumped to his feet. "Who's spying now?" he shouted. "What d'you want?" Petunia was breathless, alarmed at being caught. Harry could see her struggling for something hurtful to say. "What is that you're wearing, anyway?" she said, pointing at Snape's chest. "Your mum's blouse?" There was a *crack*. A branch over Petunia's head had fallen. Lily screamed: The branch caught Petunia on the shoulder, and she staggered backward and burst into tears. "Tuney!" But Petunia was running away. Lily rounded on Snape. "Did you make it happen?" "No." He looked both defiant and scared. "You did!" She was backing away from him. "You *did*! You hurt her!" "No--no I didn't!" But the lie did not convince Lily: After one last burning look, she ran from the little thicket, off after her sister, and Snape looked miserable and confused....
Day 29: Save Your Breath "I'm sorry." "I'm not interested." "I'm sorry!" "Save your breath." It was nighttime. Lily, who was wearing a dressing gown, stood with her arms folded in front of the portrait of the Fat Lady, at the entrance to Gryffindor Tower. "I only came out because Mary told me you were threatening to sleep here." "I was. I would have done. I never meant to call you Mudblood, it just--" "Slipped out?" There was no pity in Lily's voice. "It's too late. I've made excuses for you for years. None of my friends can understand why I even talk to you. You and your precious little Death Eater friends--you see, you don't even deny it! You don't even deny that's what you're all aiming to be! You can't wait to join You-Know-Who, can you?" He opened his mouth, but closed it without speaking. "I can't pretend anymore. You've chosen your way, I've chosen mine." "No--listen, I didn't mean--" "--to call me Mudblood? But you call everyone of my birth Mudblood, Severus. Why should I any different?" He struggled on the verge of speech, but with a contemptuous look she turned and climbed back through the portrait hole....
Day 30: Anything "If she means so much to you," said Dumbledore, "surely Lord Voldemort will spare her? Could you not ask for the mother, in exchange for the son?" "I have--I have asked him--" "You disgust me," said Dumbledore, and Harry had never heard so much contempt in his voice. Snape seemed to drink a little. "You do not care, then, about the deaths of her husband and child? They can die, as long as you have what you want?" Snape said nothing, but merely looked up at Dumbledore. "Hide them all, then," he croaked. "Keep her--them--safe. Please." "And what will you give me in return, Severus?" "In--in return?" Snape gaped at Dumbledore, and Harry expected him to protest, but after a long moment he said, "Anything."

A/N: Hi loves! I took a little while to write this one, it’s kind of been in the works for several days because I just had some trouble getting some of the scenes in this right. I hope you enjoy some soft Draco 💖 Gif is my own
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It was warm under his gaze, the soft smiles he would give you, the way he would look at you as if just being with you put the whole world right again and things in your presence were perfect.
His touch was even sweeter, the way his fingers brushed carefully against your cheek, his smile widening as he caught a glimpse of your shy smile, unable to hold his gaze as he shared a moment with you, because as much as you adored him, you could never admit it. And even if you did, would Draco Malfoy even want you, a muggle-born witch that did not share his house? As much as you wanted to believe that he might, you knew at the very least that his father would not accept you, not to mention the people who aligned themselves with him that Draco was around often and so you hid your feelings beneath your shy smiles and soft laughs, hoping you were not too obvious.
“What are you thinking about, love?” Draco asked as you shared a sweet moment together, standing on the bridge, overlooking the school grounds and the lake while you waited for your next class. Glancing over at him, your gaze was tender as you looked at him, his soft, slightly tousled ashen hair and light grey eyes, contrasted with his dark robes and the thick green and silver scarf that was draped over his shoulders. “Not a lot, I’m just enjoying it out here.” You lied, looking back towards the view ahead of you before Draco could catch you looking, but really he had already caught you and he couldn’t help the little smile that felt so uncontrollable after seeing that look in your eyes when you looked at him.
“What’s on your mind?” You turned the question back around on him, the Slytherin smiling to himself as he drew in a breath to speak. “How beautiful the view here is.” He replied, chancing a quick glance at you. Draco liked you. He knew he did and nearly from the moment he’d first seen you he had developed a liking for you, though he couldn’t quite tell if it was a crush or a soft spot he held for you. Either way, he adored your company and out of everyone else in the castle, you were the most accepting and the most calming person he had come across.
And had it not been for Professor Flitwick pairing you both together on a class project a few years prior, Draco never would have gotten to know you and he was always thankful for the bond the pair of you had formed over your years at Hogwarts together. Looking at you in the cold winter sunlight, Draco watched as the gentle rays of light cast a beautiful hue over you and as he admired you, he found himself deeply captivated, every bit of tension or stress that had bothered him earlier in the day seemed so far away now that he was with you.
But as the low, heavy ring of the clocktower bell broke the peace of your shared moment, Draco found himself wondering what it was that he really felt for you. “Come on, we’ve got potions.” You said softly, turning away from the beautiful view before Draco joined you in walking to class.
Despite the sweet moments the pair of you shared, the lingering looks and the soft, accidental touches that last only a second before you shyly pull away, you knew that even if you did tell Draco about how you felt, that he wouldn’t reciprocate those feelings back.
Walking into the potions classroom, you walked towards your usual spot with Draco stopping to talk to Blaise Zabini on his way in. “C’mon Draco, sit at the back with us.” Pansy Parkinson called him over with Daphne Greengrass sat with her, an empty chair between them and the ashen haired boy looked over in their direction, casting them both a stupid grin before he crossed the classroom to sit between the two girls. And that was the reason why you knew he wouldn’t feel the same way, because even if he held no prejudice towards you for being a muggle-born witch, he had at least two girls that surrounded Draco with every chance they had, both being very pretty and probably very likable and shared the same house with him.
And to be quite honest, part of the reason why you were sure he didn’t feel that way about you was because on several occasions you had seen Pansy cosy up to him, leaning against his side or standing rather close to him and in one instance, you had seen her kiss him on the cheek, though you seemed to remember at the time that he hadn’t looked best pleased about that.
It was halfway through a practical in your double potions class, having been partnered with Lavender Brown, who for the last half hour had been discussing all of the happenings around the Gryffindor common room with you, that you overheard Daphne Greengrass talking on the next table over from you. “You’re going to Hogsmeade this weekend, aren’t you Draco?” She asked as she weighed out a portion of Billywig wings to create the laughing potion Professor Snape had tasked you all with. “I was wondering if you’d go with me?” Daphne added.
During the pause that followed, you carefully put in three Knarl quills, one at a time and stirred quickly while Lavender held the recipe book and passed you things as she talked. “I don’t know. I did have other plans this weekend.” Draco said blankly and for a moment, his eyes sparing a quick glance at you, though all he could see was the look of sheer concentration on your features as you stared down at your potion. “Well I can join you, I’m not going to Hogsmeade this weekend.” Pansy cut in.
But before you could listen any further, Lavender grabbed your arm with enthusiasm. “The recipe says we have to giggle at it.” She told you brightly. “Giggle at it?” You asked and as if your question had been heard, the dungeon was quickly filled with the sound of Neville Longbottom and Harry Potter laughing together at their potion.
Saturday came around faster than you had expected and before you knew it, the trip to Hogsmeade commenced. Hermione, Harry and Ron were in high spirits as they stopped for butterbeer, Luna and Neville quickly joining them. You were stopped a few times, laughter filling the air as Fred and George messed around with flying sweets, George passing you some self inflating bubble gum, which according to the side of the packet, the bubble would get to at least three times the size of a normal bubble gum bubble.
Meandering in and out of the different shops and spending money on things that caught your eyes, you made your way out of the main part of the town and towards the edge of the treeline where it opened up into a clearing that overlooked the Shrieking Shack.
The recent snowfall had blanketed the whole town in several inches of snow, adding to the eerie, yet calm atmosphere that seemed to fall over the shack in the distance. “Mind some company?” His voice broke the silence and you looked back over your shoulder to see Draco standing at the edge of the trees at the end of the pathway that led to the lookout from the village. You smiled at him, perhaps more brightly than you had intended and while you tried your best not to give away how you really felt, Draco was starting to see it.
And as you invited him over, the Slytherin took slow steps towards you, each footfall followed by the soft crunch and creak of the snow beneath him until he was at your side, his eyes meeting yours. “I was looking everywhere for you.” Draco said softly, as if he didn’t want to disturb the gentle quiet that the snow had created. “You were?” You asked, a little bit taken aback by the idea that Draco had been seeking you out. “Of course, as much as I like spending time with the others,” He paused, looking down at you as he reached up to gently move some of your hair out of your face. “It isn’t like spending time with you.” His voice dropped to a soft whisper. Draco didn’t know how to even describe how you made him feel, but whenever he saw you, whenever he was at your side, Draco felt nothing but calmness and warmth and there was another feeling that he couldn’t quite put his finger on, that seemed to escape him.
His words made you break out into a little smile and Merlin, Draco thought you were the sweetest. He’d never known someone to be so shy and sweet in his presence, to be so accepting of him in every way and somehow it felt as if you didn’t quite know what it was you did to him, how you made him feel.
You wondered what made him seek your attention, rather than that of Pansy or Daphne, or any other girl for that matter, and as you wondered, it was as if Draco knew what you were thinking. “The other girls - Pansy is nice, she’s my friend but,” He sighed looking down at his hands for a moment as he gathered his words. “She can be very intense. And I suppose Daphne can be too.” “I like the way it makes me feel when I’m with you.” He added. Your eyes almost widened at that and you quickly looked up at him to see that Draco was smiling softly at you and your heart near melted. “How does that feel?” You asked quietly. He smiled, drawing in a breath to respond, eyes shifting into the distance as he thought about it for a moment.
How was he supposed to describe that fluttering he felt every time he so much as saw you? How was Draco meant to put into words the indescribable longing he had to be with you each day and how much he wished he could work out what it was that it meant? And then there was that heart fluttering feeling that Draco had never felt before but it warmed him like nothing ever had.
“Like I belong.” He finally replied in a dreamy tone, the Slytherin deep in thought as his eyes looking down from the horizon to catch your gaze and his smile widened, his fingers gently brushing against your cheek. You felt yourself warm, not just at his words but his touch too and your words escaped you, lips parted, wanting to say something, but a comfortable silence overtook you. Draco smiled sweetly at you, he didn’t expect a response and the flustered look of flattery on your features was more than enough to tell him how you felt.
“Draco!” His name was called from nearby and he muttered a mildly annoyed bugger under his breath. “I’ll see you later, won’t I?” He asked in a softer tone. “You always manage to find me.” You nodded, giving him a sweet smile, Draco giving you a bright, lopsided grin as he reached forwards and took your hand in both of his. “Meet with me later?” He asked softly, his thumbs gently rubbing the back of your hand. “In the owlery before dinner.” He added, eyes fixed on yours as he waited for an answer. “I’ll be there.” You nodded, giving him an almost uncontrollable smile and Draco’s grin widened at your answer before he leaned over to press a gentle kiss to your cheek.
And with confidence in his stride, Draco let go of your hand and backed away from you with that dreamy lopsided grin of his before he turned away and took a quick jog back towards the village, Blaise Zabini calling out for him again before he even reached the pathway.
It wasn’t long before the trip to Hogsmeade came to an end and you all made your way back home to the castle. Though, while everyone else was enthusiastically discussing everything they had bought and things they had seen, chatting among themselves and while Ginny Weasley and Luna Lovegood walked alongside you, talking about Hogsmeade, your mind wandered to Draco.
He had never asked you to meet him before, except for that one occurrence when you had been working on an assignment together, but this was different. There wasn’t a school related purpose and the way he had asked you had completely melted your heart and left you with your heart beating fast and cheeks that felt hot to the touch. The kiss on the cheek was rather what had caused that reaction though and for the remainder of the trip, you had worn a positively dreamy, uncontrollable smile.
The walk back to Hogwarts seemed to fly by and before you knew it, you were walking up the icy steps to the owlery. It was much colder as the sun hung low on the horizon, twilight drawing in as the last warm pink hues of light streaked across the few clouds that were in the sky.
You gripped the stone stairway tightly as you walked up the steps carefully, the ice making the steps particularly difficult to walk on. “Careful not to slip, love.” Draco seemingly came out of nowhere and you jumped when you’d heard his voice behind you, losing your footing on the icy steps, but Draco was quick to take hold of you and stop you from stumbling or falling.
“You won’t fall love, I’ve got you.” He smiled, stepping up to your side, the ashen haired boy chuckling softly at the look of mild embarrassment on your features. And to make it worse - or perhaps better, Draco had kept his hold on you and you realised just how close to each other you were. “Thank you.” You managed to get out in your flustered state, hoping it wasn’t too obvious that his touch seemed to make your heart skip a beat, but you had a feeling that at this point, there was very little point in hiding your liking for Draco, because you were pretty sure you had outed yourself at least more than once.
Taking your hand in his, Draco led you up the last few steps before you both reached the top of the stairs to find a beautiful view of the grounds. “I’d take you up to the top, but it’s a bit too icy.” Draco said, glancing over his shoulder at the entrance to the owlery. The door was shut, but you could still hear the owls hooting and chattering and moving about their roosts, the odd one here and there coming in to land and climbing into the tower by the little owl sized holes around the entire perimeter of the building.
Giggling, you cast your eyes down at your hands, yours fitting perfectly in his. “I don’t think going up is a good idea, I’d probably fall down the first step.” You joked, and while you said it in a playful manner, you knew you were more clumsy when you were around Draco, his presence always making you a little too flustered to fully concentrate on what you were doing. “I’d catch you if you did, sweetheart.” Draco replied, the name he used for you giving you butterflies while your heart fluttered in your chest and you wondered if he knew what he did to you.
“I’m sorry for asking you to come all the way out here, I would have asked you to meet me in the castle, but it’s hard to get a moment alone.” He told you, shifting a bit closer to your side. “It’s okay, the company and the view are certainly worth it.” You smiled, relaxing against him without realising at first, but as you leaned your head against his shoulder, you suddenly pulled away and looked away from him shyly. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to.” You rushed your apology out, but Draco shook his head, smiling as he let go of your hand to put his arm around your shoulder and gently pull you back against his side. “You never need to apologise to me, darling.” Draco reassured you calmly. “Besides, I never said I didn’t like it, did I?” He asked in a teasing tone, making you smile. “I suppose not.” You giggled softly.
And as you relaxed against him, letting out a breath you hadn’t realised you had been holding in, you felt yourself melt into his side, your head resting on his shoulder again as you watched the last rays of sunlight disappear and the twilight grow into a cool deep blue hue.
A soft breeze rustled the trees, the gentle patter of snow began to fill the air as the clouds came back in, casting a deeper grey blue across the sky and you shivered, Draco smiling as he tugged you even closer to your side.
“You know, earlier when I told you how I feel around you,” Draco paused, his breath swirling up in the cold air as he let out a breath. “You really do make me feel like I belong.” He smiled, looking over at you as he gently squeezed you against his side. “But there’s something else too, like this overwhelming feeling of-.” Draco stopped himself, eyes meeting yours, though his grey eyes held an air of deep thought. “A feeling of what, Draco?” You asked quietly with an edge of intrigue to your tone.
What was it really? It was more than a sense of belonging. It was deeper than a good friendship. It was more than just knowing the other person. It was as if, despite your different personalities, you were just meant to be. Perhaps the butterflies and the fluttering in his chest and the way his heart skipped a beat whenever you smiled or giggled or even looked at him was more than just a little crush.
“Love.” It came out as a whisper and for once, you watched as a soft pink blush blossomed on Draco’s cheeks and for a moment you were sure you were daydreaming this all up in the silence between you, but the longer you held his warm gaze and Draco looked at you with nothing but love in his eyes, you knew it was very much real. “You love me?” You whispered, your smile almost uncontrollable, but your eyes told him you were in disbelief, because throughout the years of knowing one another and becoming as close as you had, you told yourself time and time again that there was no way Draco Malfoy would like you that way, let alone love you.
“I love you.” Draco told you, his voice sincere and his smile soft and warm. “I love you too.” You replied, a little blown away because in all of the years you had known the Slytherin boy, you hadn’t once thought anything like this would ever happen. And without sparing another moment, Draco pulled you into his arms, his hands coming up to gently cradle your head as he leaned in to kiss you. He was tender and sweet as his lips moved against yours, warm and loving and you quickly melted against him, your fingers slowly brushing over his chest and slipping beneath the lapels of his long black coat to rest against his warm jumper. Draco held you with one hand resting on your lower back, while he gently held your cheek with the other, his lips soft and warm against yours as he kissed you slowly.
The snow fell in a gentle flurry around you as Draco deepened the kiss, your hands moving up to meet at the back of his neck, pulling yourself even closer to him. You felt your heart flutter and it was impossible not to smile into the kiss.
As he parted from you, Draco looked down at you with warmth and love in his eyes. Looking back on all of the moments you had spent with Draco, even from the very beginning those years ago when you had been paired together on that class project, there had always been something between you. And between the longing looks and the lingering touches, the secret meetings and the times he’d sneak up on you while you walked alone to get a giggle out of you. All of those times he came to comfort you and rest his hand gently on your shoulder or gently wipe away your tears with his thumbs and embrace you when you needed someone the most. How had you not seen it? How had you not seen the unconditional nature of his love for you? And you supposed in some ways you had seen it, but you were too busy trying to hide your own adoration for Draco and trying not to run away with the idea of being in love with him that it just didn’t quite occur to you.
“Come on darling, let’s head back and warm up with dinner.” Draco smiled, holding his hand out for you to take. “And perhaps you can tell me what you want to do for our first date while we eat?” He added as you placed your hand in his and looked up at him with a bright smile. “That sounds lovely.” You replied. “Not as lovely as you.” Draco grinned, teasing you a little bit. “How romantic of you.” You giggled, shaking your head as he started to walk you down the steps. “Only for you, my sweet girl.” Draco said with sincerity, leaning over to press a gentle kiss to your cheek.

"you realize that you drive me absolutely mad, right?"
hello friends, as promised here is a little follow up to that fun banter in that last fic that i wrote (if you haven't read it, it's not entirely important but i would suggest it. here's the link)
warning or maybe this is good news, this is a steamy scene, although it's nothing insane.
anyways, here you go you adorable and horny little cuties, luv u<3
James looked up at the sound of high heels walking towards him, a nervous heartbeat echoing its way throughout his entire body.
When she rounded the corner, he felt a short breath escape his lungs as he took the sight of her in.
She was still in her dress, hair still loosely tied up in a low updo. She briefly brushed her soft strands of hair that were framing her face out of the way as she looked at him, leaning against the wall in all his glory.
He was so attractive.
She walked towards him as he stood to his full height and waited for her to meet him, smiling. He was nervous, wondering how this was going to go about and how he would do this smoothly because he was determined to impress this girl.
James had his hands hiding in his pockets, knowing that if they weren't that they would be shaking. "You look- You look nice."
Out of all the things, you settle with 'You look nice"?! James mentally kicked himself, not very pleased with the unwanted reminder that he was not only an idiot but an idiot who was all too entirely smitten with this girl.
While he was making this awareness so much worse, but she honestly had such a calming effect on him it was almost like he didn't realize how much of a mess he was.
Lily placed her hands on her hips; the connection of their eye contact felt magnetic. Her head was tilted slightly, and an all too familiar glint was gleaming in her eye, her face barely lit up from the torches. It was late, well past curfew, but being Head Boy and Girl had its perks. She chuckled and seemed to be debating on whether to address his awkwardness. She seemed to decide to not address it but not let him off the hook either.
"James," She reached out, grabbing his tie securely and used it to pull his body into hers. Because she was pulling his tie into her, their faces were mere centimeters apart, "I'd say that it's best if we skip the whole pointless and awkward small talk and just get to a nice song, yeah?"
He felt his heartbeat pick up as he looked at her, astonished at her directness once again. He loved the way she kept him on his toes and kept him in check. He needed that balance.
"If you insist," He smirked as he quickly and wordlessly picked her up, slinging her over his shoulder as she let out her cackle that he adored so much.
"You're an idiot, you know that, right?" She said, still laughing as he did the code to get into the office.
He set her down, pulling her by her waist into him as his other hand cupped her cheek, "You like it."
She rolled her eyes just as he started kissing her, suddenly forgetting the nervousness that crippled him just seconds before.
His lips were hungry, not wasting time with his tongue, his hands grabbing her as if her body were water and he was dying of dehydration. She returned his energy, tugging at his hair and pulling at his dress robes with a newfound enthusiasm. They were both unaware of how much the other person craved them until this moment.
"How did the rest of your night go?" He asked, bringing his lips to her jawline. He kissed down her neck and onto her chest as Lily let out a heavy breath. His left hand found its way to her waist, the other tightly grasping at her thigh through the slit of her dress.
"It was alright. Yours?" She breathed out, clearly not thinking about whether she actually had an alright night. She was concerned about other things at the moment.
Hearing her heavy breath, noticing how she released her head back only fueled his desire to make her feel good. He had the power to do that to her, he was the one who could give her that release.
James pulled away from her and shrugged, "Turns out that Sirius is a lousy date. The bloke spent more time flirting with people than he spent with me."
She pulled her lips into a soft smile of amusement, her cheeks flushed. James made a mental note to never forget how she looked in this moment, face flushed, lips slightly turned pink from his scruff, and her chest was quickly rising and falling from the quick acceleration in their movements.
"You can't tell me that you're surprised by that."
He sighed, taking the sight of her in, wondering how he was lucky enough to even be in this situation, his hands still planted on her waist, touching her, pleasing her, feeling her. He was a lucky man.
"And you think that Biers is better?"
"Hey," She smirked, tangling her fingers into his curls, "He's honestly quite nice."
"So is Flitwick, but you don't see me trying to get into his pants," James brought one of his hands to her jawline, resting his thumb on her cheek as that inevitable smirk curled up onto where Lily's lips just were.
She let out an overdramatic gasp and looked as though she had never been more shocked by anything ever in her life, "No way! All this time, I thought that you were entirely smitten with him."
"No, he's not really my type," James, getting tired of his lips feeling lonely and cold, pressed them to the corner of her jawline. He noted how warm, soft, and all too inviting her skin was.
"And who is?" Lily, unable to hide the pleasure James was giving her, still had a slight bubbly and giggle in her voice.
"Definitely Hagrid," James whispered in her ear, pulling at her hair with his other hand and smelling her light scent, smiling through whiffs of vanilla and flowers, "He makes me so-"
Lily pushed his chest back slightly, so his face was in front of hers, and he noted the way she was miserably failing to hide her enjoyment, "Do you normally talk about Hagrid in your foreplay?"
"Well, is it working?" James asked, eyes lighting up in delight that she was enjoying his jokes. That used to never happen.
She gave him another eye roll as an answer, shoving his jaw away from her with her hand, "You never fail to astonish me with how thick you are, did you know that, Potter?"
He brought his fingers to her ear, rubbing the top of it slightly in between his fingers, smiling wider this time, "Did I just hear that I astonish you?"
"Can we get back to the important stuff now?" She grabbed his robes by the front of his chest, pulling him in, and crashed her lips into his again.
His hand snaked its way from her waist to wrap around her lower back, enabling him to lift her into him. Keeping his hand on her thigh that she then wrapped around his waist, he carried her to the neatly organized desk. He thanked himself for tidying up his work from earlier.
She kept her legs around him as it allowed her to better press her body into his, shedding the jacket off of his dress robes off of his shoulders, untucking his shirt from his pants, and feeling his abdomen muscles. This brought up a deep growl from the back of James's throat that Lily thoroughly enjoyed, forgetting how much she loved to tease the lad.
He brought his hand from her lower back to her breast over her dress, something he had wanted to do for hours now, and his hand on her thigh conveyed his enjoyment of this as it squeezed eagerly.
Lily pulled away and smirked at him, pushing him back with her heeled foot on his chest. His hazel eyes were darkened with desire, and his hair was a disaster.
"Something wrong?" He asked, clearly not understanding her sudden removal. His hands were on his hips as he tried to steady his breathing.
"We've been moving at a rather quick pace," Lily responded, leaning back on her palms as her head tilted to the side, not trying to hide her amusement. It felt so good having someone want her in this way.
James raised his eyebrows, wondering if he hadn't adequately gone about this and hoping that it was all consensual, "Lily- Are you saying- We don't have to go as far as we have in the past, whatever you're-"
She gave a slight snicker, clearly endeared by his concern for her, "While I'm thrilled that you are concerned about proper consent, I'm talking about the actual tempo, not boundaries. Don't worry," She lowered her voice back to one of seduction, "I still very much want you to touch me."
James's face relaxed, cocking his head to the side and simpering as he put his hands on her ankle, running them up and down her calf, "Is that so?"
She nodded, head still tilted. She seemed to be waiting for him to make the next move. He was happy to supply.
"And you said," He slowly started moving his hands to gently take off her silver heels on both feet. His movements were light, delicate, yet secure. The anxiety that filled him earlier was forgotten entirely.
After he got one of her heels off, he carelessly dropped it to the floor, repeating it with the other. He then rubbed his hands over her legs as he pulled himself closer to her, leaning against the desk so that their lips were only millimeters apart.
"And you said that we're moving too quickly? What's the issue in that?" His breath was soft on her face, and he could barely see the light blush that was on her cheeks. He was sure that she noticed his excitement as well.
She shrugged, giving him a look that nearly made James come undone right then and there, rubbing her nose up his face slightly. "I just think that the best things happen slowly."
He closed the gap with his forehead, touching them together as he looked down at their lips that were so close, feeling her breath hit his skin.
"You realize that you drive me absolutely mad, right?"
"Oh, yes," She smiled, bringing her hand to his cheek, "Not only do I know it, but I love it."

Heyya!! Congratulations on your 200 folowers!! And tbh I really love your writings <3. Anyway I was wondering if you could do severus × reader based on this song? Maybe it started post-war and Severus is alive and still being a potion professor and the reader is Sev's childhood friends and just become a professor too? And then the reader finds out that Sev's is different between in class and socializing and then they grew fond to each other until both of them has feeling for each other but Severus insecured. At the end they confessed to each other and having a love making? Sorry if I'm asking too much. Love you and take care <3
A/n: Hiii! Thank you so much lovely!💖💖 I tried to write what you requested but i didn’t write a love making scene. I don’t write smut, i want to give it a try but today wasn’t the day... and this fanfic is little bit longer than i anticipated it + i didn’t do proofreading since it took me 3 days to write and i was over it😂
Characters: Severus Snape x reader

Only Us
This would be the year of a fresh beginning for everyone in the wizarding world. The big and devastating war was in the past now but its effects were still visible in people’s eyes, there were so many lost loved ones. But life was going on and it had to be lived fully none the less. You were working in the Ministry of Magic as a curse-breaker when the war took place and say the least you were quite affected by what happened in the Ministry. Because of that you have quitted from your job after the war but you weren’t sure how wise was your new decision; you wanted to leave the Ministry because some part of the war happened there but then you applied for DADA professor position at Hogwarts which you have been accepted. And you were quite excited for this new chapter of your life, hopefully this time story would end happily.
You stood in front of the Great Hall before you walked in; you remembered your first day at Hogwarts. You felt the same excitement you had 27 years ago. You took a deep breath and entered the big hall; it was just as you remembered it, someone wouldn’t guess there was a war just 5 months ago. While you were walking to your seat, your eyes fell on the black haired man in full black clothes. You knew him, not from the newspaper articles about him after the war tho. Your history went way back, you were childhood friends. Severus’s father had worked for your dad as a gardener and sometimes he brought Severus with him as well to teach him the job, that was how you two have met. Your friendship continued until the graduation from Hogwarts, you and Severus had chosen different paths and eventually you lost connection. But when you read about how he almost died at the war, your heart dropped. You wanted to talk to him since then but you didn’t know how since you didn’t have his address or anything. But there he was, you thought he would retire after the war and his injuries. Severus didn’t notice your gaze at all, he was talking to Professor Flitwick and you didn’t want to interrupt them. You had plenty of time to talk, you could try your chance tomorrow.
How wrong you were… It has been a whole month and you still couldn’t talk with Severus; it was not on you though, he was literally avoiding you. You didn’t want to take it so personal since it seemed like he was talking to only Professor McGonagall and Flitwick, and to the students only when he needed to teach them… But you were persistent and you had that plan on your mind; it was Saturday and most of the students and the professors were off to Hogsmade. You have found out that Severus never goes to this trip after what happened in the Shrieking Shack… So when people went out, you went to the kitchens to prepare some snack. When you were all done, you took the blueberry muffins you made and headed to Severus’s room. Panic washed over you before you knocked on the door, sometime later the door cracked open and Severus looked at the uninvited guest with an annoyed expression but you felt like it kind of softened when he noticed it was you.
“I made blueberry muffins that you used to love! Hope you still do…” You smiled softly while looking at the muffins and then at him. You loved to bake and every Saturday you were baking those muffins when you were at Hogwarts.
“I never had any after the graduation…” he mumbled.
“Oh poor you, you must have missed them!” you spoke dramatically. “I thought we can have a chat and eat the muffins, we couldn’t talk and I would like to catch up.”
Severus thought for a while then opened the door little bit more so you could enter.
You sat in silence for some time and ate the muffins, it wasn’t an awkward silence but you wanted to talk with him.
“You didn’t miss me a bit after all these years? You don’t even look at me, have I aged that bad?” you joked, tried to break the ices.
“No, no.”Severus protested immediately, you were still as beautiful as when you were younger for him. He was just feeling little bit ashamed that he never tried to reach for you and adding to that he completely avoided you for a month. “It is just… I am not the same person you knew before…”
“People change Severus, that’s one of the games of life. And when I look at you I see a brave man who risked his own life for the sake of the wizarding world.”
“That same man couldn’t save some people, made wrong decisions, had to watch people getting tortured and couldn’t stop the torturer, had to kill…” Severus was squeezing his hands until his knuckles turned white.
You rested your hand on top of his to comfort him, this touched startled him at first but he didn’t make any moves and slowly relaxed under your touch.
“I don't need more reminders of all that's been broken and you neither Severus. I don't need you to fix what I'd rather forget. Clear the slate and start over, you could have died there Severus but you didn’t. Don’t spend this chance regretting about the things you have done or haven’t in the past. You have one life and you should live it in the best way possible. Try to quit the noises in your head.”
“It is easy to say these things but put them on action is not Y/N.”
“I know how it is, I have been there too Severus. But I am here to help you if you let me.”
Severus gave you a confused look, he didn’t understand why you would be in such a state. Probably you were the happiest person he knew. You got his confusion and decided to tell what you went through.
“About 8 years ago, my husband of 5 years decided to divorce me all of a sudden. He said; he doesn’t love me anymore and he doesn’t want to do anything with me and our daughter who was 2 at the time. And he just left, I have never seen him since then. Of course I blamed myself for a long time about everything but then I realized this won’t help me or my daughter at all so I opened a new, clean page of my life.”
“I- I am sorry Y/N…” Severus couldn’t know what to say about the things he just heard. But he was amazed at the power you held when you told these to him, you were such a strong woman.
“Don’t be sorry, I and Melodie are better off without him.” You smiled proudly. “I better go, I need to mark some papers. And I hope you won’t avoid me anymore, I missed my friend.” You patted his shoulder before you left the room. Severus sat there and got lost in his thoughts.
Past 5 months you and Severus built your friendship back up slowly but steadily. You were having walks between the classes, marking papers together and laughing at the funny answers the students wrote and of course you were having many muffin and tea parties together. During Christmas holidays you invited Severus over to celebrate it with you and your daughter. He was hesitant at first but he accepted eventually and say the least Severus and Melodie got along well. It was funny to see the grumpy and anti-child professor to interact with your daughter in a totally different way. It was visible that Severus was getting better when times went by and you were happy to see those changes. But there was another change which made you scared in a way; your feelings were changing towards him. Were you falling for him? You guessed so. You knew he sees you as a friend still and nothing more but you needed to take this out of your chest. It was February which means Valentines Day was on the way. So you decided to give him something and ask him to be your valentine for the ball. And if his reaction was bad, you would easily lie and say you meant it in a friendly way just for the ball. Well you couldn’t put your plan on the action until the last day because you were way to anxious but finally on the 14th you collected your courage. You baked a small heart shaped cake and wrote “be my valentine” on top with icing and made your way to his room. You held your breath until he opened the door and invite you in, he took a look at you then the cake you were holding. His eyebrow arched in surprise and looked at you for an answer.
“It is what it is.” You chuckled nervously. “What do you say…?”
“Why me? You could find someone better Y/N… I am n-“
“No Severus. I don't need you to search for the proof that I should, you don't have to convince me, you don't have to be scared you're not enough.” You put the cake on the closest dresser so you could hold his hand. “What if it’s you? And what if it’s us?”
“Is that what you really think? Are you sure about your feelings…?”
“I am being 100% honest with you Severus, that is how I feel.”
“If you like me for me and nothing else. Well, that's all that I've wanted for longer that you could possibly know.” Severus moved closer to you and wrapped his arm around your waist while holding your hand with the other still.
“So it can be us.” You gave him a excited smile.
“And only us.” Severus looked at your pink lips then to your eyes to ask a silent permission which you gave him immediately with a nod. His thin lips met with yours, they danced in a harmony until both of you were out of breath. He softly chuckled at your blushed face, it was matching with your cotton candy pink dress.
“Pretty in pink, Y/N.”

I was once more thinking of vol 8 and other works to compare it to. I hit Harry Potter, specifically Order of the Phoenix. Literally all that happened there showed a much better "proactive Hero" and "Big Bad vs Big Good" battle that it feels unfair to compare. What say you Clyde?
It's been a very long time since I read Order of the Phoenix, but putting aside that and the series' problems with representation (something that always feels like it needs to be acknowledged when discussing HP nowadays), Rowling did a good job of setting up both motivation and justification for Harry's actions. Which isn't to say that he was never wrong — quite the opposite, especially in OotP — but that Harry's involvement in this war is justified in a way that Ruby's involvement is not. He's not just generally active (no tea sipping equivalent scenes), but we understand why he's the one taking that action.
Harry is an unwilling participant forced to fight due to a prophecy, so when he stumbles along the way, we as the reader are understanding because jeez, what else what he supposed to do? Literally no one else can do this and he's trying his best. Ruby, in contrast, is not necessary to this fight. We might have gotten that with her silver eyes, but we didn't, so when Ruby willingly steps up — or, in Volume 8, forcibly takes control — and then gets upset because things didn't go well, the viewer (or at least some viewers: us) are far less forgiving because she demanded this responsibility and then found she didn't like having it. When Harry rushes off to the Department of Mysteries, endangering many of his friends in the process (even if they volunteered) we understand that this action is done out of love. We've spent five books establishing Harry's desire for a family, it's literally his greatest wish according to the Mirror of Erised, so going after Sirius, while reckless, is such an in-character, relatable, human decision. It's integral to who Harry is as a person. Compare that to the lack of work done surrounding Summer and the unanswered question of why Ruby is fighting Salem. Because it's the right thing to do? Great, fantastic, but uh... that doesn't really explain or justify why she's leading the charge when all these other huntsmen — with the same goals, more experience, better plans, etc. —are trying to do The Right Thing too. When thinking about HP vs. RWBY, my mind always goes back to that moment at the end of the first book when Harry tries to tell McGonagall about the stone and she brushes him off. "Ah," I thought later. "That's why three 11yos are going off to save the magical artifact when there are adult, full-fledged wizards around to do it instead. The kids tried to turn hand this off to the adults and the adults failed them." Now, combine this with Harry's growing tendency to go it alone, the implication that Dumbledore may have been allowing him to face certain threats to get stronger, each book's individual situation like a hidden chamber that only Harry can enter, his Godfather being on the run, a magically binding contract that keeps him in a competition because the bad guys are specifically after him... Harry is at the heart of the story. He's integral to it, his part in the fight inevitable, so all that's left is to see how he bears that burden.
Ruby is not integral to this fight, her presence and even her silver eyes are not necessary, her facing down Salem is only inevitable from a meta perspective regarding expectations for a protagonist (and then, in Volume 8, Ruby didn't face her.) There's no clear personal motivation to drive her. There's not even a Guardian's of the Galaxy-esque motivation in the form of, "We'll step up because no one else will." Others do keep stepping up and Ruby keeps forcing them to follow her instead, insisting that her way is better. Only problem is, it's arguably not and that's when she has a plan at all. It's like if instead of going after the stone because his professors won't, or going after Sirius because he loves him, or going after Voldemort because a prophecy and a life of having a saving-people-thing has pushed him to that, Harry made his way to the front of this war Just Because, rejecting everyone else who fought in the first war, has more experience, and actual plans along the way. Why does he do this? Because his name is in the title of the book, I guess.
RWBY throws in lost of classic ideas and setups, but doesn't seem to understand their point. Even something as simple as that Big Bad vs. Big Good conflict in Volume 8. Putting aside how muddied this has gotten between the Gods' involvement and Salem's dip in the grimm pool, Volume 8 took the threat of our Big Bad arriving with an army and... ignored it. Instead, they ran with Ironwood as the primary antagonist of the volume, the guy trying to stop Salem, a previously established ally, the guy who just gave up his arm to capture another clear-cut villain, and who throughout Volume 7 demonstrated none of the manipulation we would attribute to a Dumbledore-like figure. Rather than running with their Big Bad's arrival, RWBY asked how they could force one of the good guys to become a bad guy instead, hence the sudden shooting of Oscar and murder of the councilman. This is a far from perfect comparison (and I take my virtual life in my hands bringing up another controversial character lol), but it's a little like if after we learned about which side Snape was truly on, he suddenly tried to kill Hermione, succeeded in killing a minor character like Professor Flitwick, and then made plans to destroy all of Hogwarts. Meanwhile, everyone is ignoring Voldemort standing on the front lawn because the narrative randomly made Snape the biggest problem instead. So a lot of the fanbase is like, "Yeah he's absolutely a dick and his horrific past/contentious choices are the point of his character... but he's also supposed to be one of the good guys at the end of the day? And the Big Bad is right there? We can argue about how 'good' Snape is until we're blue in the face, but he's no Voldemort. Why did you feel the need to chuck the morally gray character off the deep end for our heroes to oppose when our primary antagonist is literally right here, trying to kill them?" From this, to introducing a dead mother that in no way motivates our cast, to having Oscar face down Salem with an improvised weapon instead of Ruby with her eyes, to giving Penny an arc about accepting her android body only to rip it away, etc. etc. RWBY continuously throws out ideas without understanding what they're meant to accomplish. There's a lot to criticize about Harry Potter nowadays, but a lack of logical development isn't one of them.
And just to chuck in another text — because I too think about what has done Volume 8 themes better lol — consider: Loki. Stop reading now if you don't want spoilers, but a couple episodes in Loki and Sylvie end up on a dying planet that is only evacuating the rich. That's said overtly in both the dialogue and visually in the mise-en-scene, with poor people screaming that only the rich are getting tickets for the rocket and elaborately dressed elites enjoying the comforts of that ride. Then, just as they're about to escape, leaving the rest of their world behind, a piece of the moon hits the ship, either killing them instantly or stranding them with the people they abandoned. And I thought to myself, "See, this makes sense in a way RWBY never did." Evacuation was never about wealth in RWBY, despite what the fandom continually claims. Ironwood was trying to evacuate everyone and only stopped because they all assumed Salem would be killing them momentarily. This situation included Relics and a Maiden that would easily turn the tide of the war, meaning their safety influenced the whole world, not just these people. Mantle was not necessarily about to be destroyed — indeed, we find out later that Salem had no interest in it — and it was always a bad faith (and OOC) assumption that Ironwood was leaving his kingdom for good. The story doesn't even acknowledge the huge number of Mantle citizens already on Atlas when the attack begins. I was just sitting there thinking, "This two episode mini conflict in an insane show with alligators and time shenanigans somehow holds up better than RWBY's 27 episodes that are trying to be deep. How does that happen?"

For the ask game: F! 💙
F: Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.
okay i have a scene for this but it's in TFTDC and it's super spoilery, so sadly i won't pick that! I love it so much though, so once i post ch 11 if anyone remembers and is interested in hearing me babble about them talking about being in love, hit me up.
instead, i'm going to talk about this dialogue bit from I Want It to Be Us in the End which i wrote for the lovely @clare-with-no-i 's november prompt challenge and truly, reading through it just now to find something, i'd forgotten i wrote it 😂
The fluorescent lights of the supermarket are shining over his face, still widened with surprise, her name hanging in the air.
Lily’s hand is still outstretched, halfway towards reaching for a microwaveable box dinner sitting sideways on the shelf. She can’t breathe. “Hi.” The word is numb and half a whisper, a stupid, paltry greeting after a year and a half.
He looks…the same. Better. Blurring in her vision, messy hair and crooked specs and his hands resting against the handle of his shopping trolley. Beautiful. Staring at her like she’s insane or a ghost he never expected to see. “What are you doing here?” James asks her.
Lily exhales shakily as if his presence has upset the tilt of her world’s axis in just a few seconds. “I…live round the corner,” she says. “You…”
“No, in Chelsea,” James says and she wants to hit herself. Of course he lives in the posh part of town, so far away from this worn down supermarket. Which begs the question of what he’s doing here at three o’clock in the morning, but she can’t make it come out, not when they’re staring at each other and she wants to break apart. Memorize his features or spill all the secrets she’s collected since she last saw him.
“Oh, nice,” Lily says softly after a second and the lights flicker.
James’s mouth quirks to the side, his eyes shadowed and suddenly they’re eighteen, sat in English class while Flitwick droned on in the front about metaphor. She remembered it because James wasn’t paying attention at all, too busy laughing with his mates in the corner. He probably wouldn’t remember it today. But she’d looked at him and thought about love.
Love is selfish, Flitwick said, is the metaphor of The End of the Affair.
Lily disagreed and she’d looked down at her blank paper, prepared to write an entire, stinging rebuttal of cynical views like Graham Greene’s. Nothing came, and at the end of the class she turned in one bland sentence that has faded in her memory since.
“I’m working in the area,” James says. “A part…in a show.” He sounds hesitant, eyes lingering and roaming over her like he’s taking in her oversized sweatshirt and jeans that are cuffed unevenly.
“Congratulations,” Lily says.
Love is the opposite of selfish.
She would’ve written: How can we love so completely, so unselfishly? Are we not just a collective set of breakable parts: hands touching, hearts reaching, lungs burning, muscles strewn throughout? Love is merely the myriad of blue veins that holds it all together; the longest hand on the ticking clock that keeps the world spinning.
She clears her throat. “Well, maybe I’ll see you around,” she says to James Potter, who is perhaps the only man she’s ever loved.
It’s weak to her ears, and probably to his as well, but James doesn’t say a word, even though his brow tightens. For a second, he looks like he’s thinking the same thing she is—the same whimsically sad, stupid, dramatic thoughts. About them.
But then he grins and says, “Maybe.”
there isn't actually a lot of dialogue in this scene, but i'm really proud of the way it sits at the very end of the fic, even though chronologically it's the very beginning. Because we've gone through the whole journey, we can infer every bit of hope and love and longing in their awkward smalltalk that's hiding how they really feel, so it feels like they've had a full conversation.
I'm a big fan of pauses in dialogue to show emotion, or paltry words that don't cover the feelings, because at the end of the day i think words can't really cover exactly what a feeling is, but the spaces between them can.
anyways, i have feelings about idiots who pine and love so deeply in secret that it can't not just absolutely burst out through the smallest 'hi' or 'maybe'.
Ask me a question from this list! 🥳

I feel like Merula insinuating that the metamorphmagus has both been on Hogwarts grounds and apparently impersonated MC at some point should have been a bigger deal right? I get the whole scene was supposed to be about merula admitting what she did but those facts feel like a big deal
I mean, you’re not wrong. Because MC didn’t consider this possibility before, right? Tough we also have Corey asking:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
But then again… it’s Corey. You’re right that we should’ve questioned it either way, especially that Merula implied that the Mertamorphamus might've impersonated MC. By the way, it could also work the other way: the Metamorphmagus could disguise as Merula. I don’t think they did, but if we’re discussing it already… why not question it? For example, when we brought the cursed CD to Flitwick for the first time, we talked about Merula being suspiciously nice, didn’t we?
To be fair, I’m mostly confused by the whole insinuation about the Metamorphmagus. And to be completely honest, I doubt Merula really thought it’s not MC. Like, the way the conversation went suggested that the Metamorphmagus is Verucca. Merula kind of confirmed it, but she basically did it by not denying whatever MC said. The thing is that it doesn't make sense because Merula was also surprised that MC (or as she allegedly thought: "MC") won in a wandless duel. Still, the issue was brought up, and I agree that it was brushed off too easily.
That being said, I think that an even bigger deal is that we didn’t ask Merula about this:
Tumblr media
Like, it has to be related to that stupid “leader of R” thing. We know that MC is still worried about it for some reason. So, how the hell it didn’t come to MC’s mind while talking to Merula? Seriously, this whole conversation was so incredibly disappointing… and basically pointless.
Once again, Merula is really lucky that MC is an idiot.

I really want to read the post where you say "why Ravenclaw is the House that suits MC the most in the main story" but I dont find it
I haven’t ever made a full length post about it, come to think of it. I’ve talked about it in previous Ask responses but admittedly I have quite a few of those. So I suppose now is as good a time as any!
Ultimately, HPHM’s story is designed so that any House can work for Jacob’s Sibling. Obviously, no one House is “canon” over the others. But in my personal opinion, certain Houses do make more sense for different reasons. Everything can change based on how you characterize MC, but setting aside the dialogue choices, they tend to have a general personality that fills in for most of the scenes. It’s average, a kind of “everyman” type. And certain choices can arguably be considered “canon” when they’re the ones that are free, placed next to choices that are locked behind attributes or friendship checks. That is the general vision of MC that I’ll be analyzing.
But first, the characters.
One of the primary reasons that MC fits Ravenclaw the best in the Main Story is because there are several characters who are aligned to MC in their Sorting. They always follow MC to whatever House they go to. Thus it becomes a question of which house suits them the most. Rowan Khanna, I think, speaks for them-self. I could see them in any House but they are a Ravenclaw through and through. I bet the only reason they ever get Sorted anywhere else is because they ask the Hat to let them follow MC. They are absolutely brilliant, with a love of reading and learning new things. They’re eccentric as well, deeply creative and good at coming up with plans. They dream of being a Professor, and they turn to books above all else. Next we have Jacob. Another character who could go anywhere based on interpretation, but he strikes me as a Ravenclaw too. Several of the options you can give when expressing speculation about him suggest that the reason he probably investigated the Vaults in the first place was his thirst for knowledge, his desire to know their secrets. To be specific, his stubborn and obsessive need to know. I feel like Jacob couldn’t let this go until he had learned all of the hidden magic and secrets of the Vaults, until he realized far too late that he was in over his head, mixed up with R and everything.
Then there is Flitwick. A canon Ravenclaw of course, and one of the four Heads of House. It could be coincidental, but even if it is, Flitwick is easily the most developed of the Heads of House within this game. McGonagall is totally in character, but she’s part of the sideline outside of a small section of Year 2. Sprout contributes absolutely nothing, and Snape is likewise in character, but lacking anything to do until Rakepick shows up. Flitwick prepares MC for the first duel with Merula and gives them counsel. I suppose it’s not that much more than McGonagall teaching them the revealing spell in Year 2, but this felt so much more personal. You have the chance to make a promise to Flitwick, and either keep it or break it. In Year 4, he is I think the only teacher to speak up in Rakepick’s defense, and this leads into even further development of his character. By Year 5, he starts to warn MC not to investigate the Portrait Curse, but stops mid-sentence as he realizes that nothing he can say will stop them. I bring all of this up because Flitwick being such a fleshed out character in this game kind of goes hand in hand pretty well with the idea that he is MC’s Head of House. He is the only Head who shows the slightest bit of remorse when banning MC from Hogsmeade. With him, you really get the sense that he’s being overruled and doesn’t agree with it. That he’s in MC’s corner. And god I love him.  I won’t stray too far into the Quidditch characters, but I will say that Murphy and Orion are two other characters that stick with MC, who I could very much see as Ravenclaws, both in different ways. But still, it’s Jacob and Rowan who are most important in affecting the story.
Which brings me to the story itself.
Hogwarts Mystery is different from the story of Harry Potter. This is the tale of Jacob and his Sibling. In HP, we know from the beginning who the villain is, that he’s an evil monster. We know what he wants, and that he failed. It gets fleshed out more later but everything you need to know is in that first book. We see him, he clashes with Harry, and loses. The books are a hero’s journey. A story of good versus evil. They do have mystery aspects, each of the books has a mystery told within it’s pages. But the overarching story is not about what’s hidden in the trapdoor, or who opened the chamber of secrets. It’s about Harry and Voldemort’s rivalry, their hero/villain dynamic. Everyone knew going into DH that Harry would defeat him in the end because that’s how these things go. OOTP basically confirmed it but most fans had known for years.
HPHM is different.
There are heroic moments, and Merula in particular compares MC to being a “hero.” But nothing they do is heroic in the same way as Harry. They both take active roles in the story but in different ways. Harry is still reactionary. He takes it upon himself to solve the problems, but he still waits until the problems show up. MC plans to open the Vaults even before the Curses show themselves. They arrive at Hogwarts with a goal in mind, finding Jacob. And with Hogwarts Mystery, the overarching story is not a hero’s journey. Because MC is so much more ambiguous than Harry. It might seem redundant to say that this story is a Mystery, but it is. An ongoing investigation, the unraveling of a conspiracy. Learning the truth about just what went down during Jacob’s years at Hogwarts. By HBP, Voldemort was such a familiar presence that we were learning the ins and outs of his childhood, right down to how his parents met. By Year 6, we still have no idea what R really is, or what they want. We don’t even know what it stands for. The black and white of the books, the heroes and the villains...that’s all replaced with shades of gray. Jacob is constantly in the gray. So is Rakepick, at least at first. Don’t get me started on Merula. Ben is another character who is definitely good, but has gone through such a roller coaster about who he is and whether he can be trusted.
Then there’s the ambiguity of MC them-self. The hints that they don’t share everything with people, are prone to tricking others, and for all we know, might wind up on the Dark Side someday. I’ll admit, this can also lend itself well to MC being a Slytherin, and indeed there are dialogue choices that are locked behind being one. But I still feel as though MC playing detective throughout this entire game, that whole premise lends itself pretty damn well toward a Ravenclaw MC. They’re trying to defeat the bad guys, but their main method of preparing for that fight is not train up an army of students, it is to investigate the Vaults, and investigate R. Even going as far as to work with Wizarding police. Granted, I know Harry poked around a lot too. And MC does form the Circle of Khanna, just like how Harry formed Dumbledore’s Army. Both of them do exhibit both behaviors, but MC specializes in covert investigation more than preparation for combat. Again, at least they do so in the main story. The Circle of Khanna was not meant to be like Dumbledore’s Army, at least not in concept. MC first conceived it as the idea of standing toe to toe with the Cabal by having a secret organization of their own. I know that didn’t really land perfectly in actual practice but that was the whole idea. And if there’s one thing MC has a constant stream of, it’s ideas. Not always the right ones, not always fast enough, but they do have them, and these ideas steer the plot. In the main story and otherwise.
It’s probably a bit cheap to get meta, but so be it.
I can’t help but notice how, if we take every other contribution to the Potterverse into account...well then, we’ve got a Gryffindor Protagonist in the form of Harry. We’ve got a Slytherin Protagonist in the form of Albus Severus. And a Hufflepuff over in Fantastic Beasts with Newt Scamander. If MC is a Ravenclaw, then that completes the quartet. But there’s another Quartet out there as well - that of the Original Four. Rowan, Ben, Penny, and Merula. The Year 1 characters and the OG leads of the Hogwarts Mystery story. Notice anything about them? We have a Hufflepuff, a Gryffindor, and a Slytherin...but no Ravenclaw. None that is, unless MC, and therefore Rowan by extension, is a Ravenclaw. MC being Sorted into the House of Eagles completes both of these groups. I dunno, I just find it curious that unless the Player goes to Ravenclaw, the first student character we meet in that House shows up in Year 3. Because Jam City wrote in some amazing characters for Ravenclaw. My love of Tulip Karasu is well documented, but I also think Talbott is pretty damn fascinating. Andre and Badeea rock too! Ravenclaw is also a relatively neutral House. I’ve said before that HPHM ignores the House rivalries, and that’s easiest to incorporate in the House of Eagles, which mostly keeps to itself. It would not be socially strange for a Ravenclaw to have so many friends from different Houses. I’m not saying a Slytherin MC couldn’t befriend Ben, for example, but he’s a Muggle-born Gryffindor and that would be a big deal to everyone else. Again, not saying it couldn’t happen, just that it would turn heads and people within Slytherin might go as far as to treat MC like a traitor. I like this premise, but...would Felix seriously help MC prepare to fight Merula, a fellow Slytherin, on behalf of someone like Ben? There are other trivial problems, like the question of two male Prefects if MC is Gryffindor, etc.
But that’s just a few thoughts. Again, there’s clearly no “canon” House, and neither of my MCs are even in Ravenclaw. But I think it’s fun to explore the idea as Ravenclaw is a House that, I think, is sorely needing development.

"Take that!" A snowball came wooshing through the air, the girl it was aimed for ducked just in time. "You!" she hollered and threw a snowball back at the boy. He jumped to the side and it hit the back of a Slytherin girl. "What the- oh you Gryffindors!" she snarled and threw a snowball back. It smacked the girl right in the face and she fell backwards just as the courtyard was filling up with students walking between classes.
"OH IT'S ON!" the Gryffindor girl shrieked as she gathered snow. "IT’S WAR!" the Slytherin girl screamed as she did the same. Students took sides, Gryffindors an Hufflepuffs on one side, Slytherins on the other with a few Ravenclaws as well while others just watched the unfurling of a full-on snowball war between the houses.
Commands were shouted, snowballs were made and thrown. It was chaos. And what usually happens when there is chaos? Accidents.
A snowball flew through the air at a high velocity just as the teachers marched out to clear of the ongoing battle. It hit Snape right in the face with a harsh splat. The whole courtyard froze. Everyone stood still as snow fell from Snape's face and his eyes burned with rage.
"50 points from Gryffindor!" he roared as the snowball had come from that side of the courtyard. "Now, hold on Severus," McGonagall said as she came up behind the Gryffindor and Hufflepuff students, "it was just a snowball." Snape sneered at McGonagall.
The students remained still and quiet. "Oh really?" Snape purred. McGonagall's eyes bulged. "Now, hold on just a moment Sev-" *smack* McGonagall's face was hidden behind a splat of snow. She wiped it off with her hand in one swipe.
"You- you disrespectful-" "Now, now, Minerva," Severus purred, "it was just a snowball." He threw her words back at her and McGonagall seemed to explode. "Just a snowball? Just a snowball?!" she thundered with that high pitched voice of hers. Severus gave her a malicious grin.
"Oh, I have had enough of this!" McGonagall shouted, "this is no time to play!" The students watched the bickering between the teachers. Unaware that Snape had in fact already summoned a heap of new snowballs. This ought to shut the old cat up. With non-verbal magic, he began to throw them at the students belonging to Gryffindor and Hufflepuff. And McGonagall.
"Severus! Enough!" "Oh I'm not doing anything, it's my clever students," Snape purred and McGonagall's face turned red. She glared at him as he smiled wickedly. "Oh this is WAR!" she roared and the students cheered on her side of the courtyard. "Damn right it is!" Snape called back before he roared at the student to attack with all their strength.
"Flitwick, more snowballs!" McGonagall shrieked, "Abernathy, throw harder! Flake, throw longer!" she commanded as the gryffpuff side rolled into action. "Not so fast!" Snape roared back before he turned to his students, "are you Slytherins or not?! Throw the damn snowballs!" he hissed and wicked smiles spread out. "How hard?" a broadly shouldered boy said as he bounced a snowball up and down in his hand. "As hard as you can, McRoy." The boy smiled. "You hear the professor boys and gals, it's on!"
Snowballs flew left and right, students and professors ducked as they tried to avoid them. "Professor! What are you doing on their side?!" a girl cried out, her robes in Ravenclaw colours. Flitwick seemed embarrassed and at a loss for words as McGonagall commanded him left and right. Snape chuckled. "He's chosen the weak side," he growled and the girl seemed horrified by it. "Let's show him how clever his students really is, no?" The girl nodded, seemingly pissed off at her own head of house and Snape was clever enough to use it.
And boy oh boy did his side do well. As he Slytherins used their brute strength and rallied themselves by their pure ambition to win the Ravenclaws used their wits to throw balls that curved and split into several. Some even went so far as to throw chasing spells on the snowballs so they would find their targets no matter what.
"Clever, very clever!" McGonagall screamed with huffing breaths. "What's the matter little kitty? Lost your spirit?" Snape chuckled out and Minerva seemed to get even more infuriated as she herself began to throw snowballs using magic.
Snape sneered, oh, playing hardcore now, are we? Well, two can play that game. Snape waved over three Slytherins. "Take the flanks, use non-verbal magic, pound them." The rather large boys smiled wickedly at Snape's command. He gave them a very tight smile and off they went. He was just about to partake himself when a familiar voice rang out over the courtyard in an echoing pant.
"Students throwing snowballs! Students at the courtyard throwing snowballs!" Filch called out as he ran in a weird fashion with a hand on his chest and Mrs Norris hot on his tale. "THEY ARE SUPPOSED TO THROW SNOWBALLS YOU BLUBBERING IDIOT!" McGonagall screamed at the poor man who looked utterly confused at the strange scene. "Sorry, mam'" he sighed as he looked out over the courtyard that had paused at his arrival. Everyone was looking at the scabby man; throws were frozen mid-air.
Filch threw and threw, by Merlin did he have good aim for such a scrawny looking arm and half-open eyes. He had put Mrs Norris to work as well, she stroked around behind enemy lines so the students fell as they stumbled with her jumping between their legs. Students shouted, professors commanded and snowballs flew in a flurry.
"Well don't just stand there! Help! Get more snowballs Mr Filch!" McGonagall chided. Filch looked at her and then at Snape; who smiled at the man who he had actually grown quite close to during his school years. "Sorry mam', my allegiance is spoken for," Mr Filch stated and he hurried over to Snape who smiled triumphantly at McGonagall who seemed to be quite near a complete explosion at that.
"Welcome to the winning side, Argus," Snape said with a smile and Filch nodded as Mrs Norris stroked Snape's legs, "Attack!" Snape roared in a thunder of command and the snowballs flew yet again as students screamed at the opposite side to 'take that' and 'run away loser' paired with some laughs and screams as snowballs hit their intended targets.
McGonagall had hauled din more students from among the onlookers. Snape had not, he did not force anyone to participate but boy oh boy did he get the ones engaging to fight as if it were life or death.
A snowball hit him right on his hooked nose with a thudding splat. McGonagall laughed and that had been the final straw. Snape made snowballs rain down on the enemies. Wave after wave of snowballs until there was so much snow they could no longer move. "VICTORY!" shouted the slytherclaw side with joyous glee as they jumped around while howling with laughter at the losing side. Snape gave McGonagall a wicked smile before he walked over.
"Just a snowball, was it?" he drawled on a chuckle. "Oh alright, fine! Now get us out of here," McGonagall shrieked. "I believe a reward should be given for such a great achievement." Snape smiled as he straightened and looked towards his side of the courtyard. "100 points to Slytherin," he said and the students clad in green colours cheered, "and 100 points to Ravenclaw," he continued and the few students that had participated on his side of the snowball war beamed at him.
"Yes yes, whoopie-do for you," McGonagall muttered, "now get us out of here," she continued and Snape vanished the snow with a swirling motion of his wand that set lose a controlled flame that melted the snow without burning anything else. "Fabulous, now I'm soaked." McGonagall took out her own wand and dried herself as best she could before she told the student's to get changed before next class.
Everyone filed out with loud talk of epic snow battles and awesome teachers. Snape could not help but chuckle, but as he moved his eyes to his college she angrily tapped her foot and glared at him.
"We do not teach students to battle in this way," she chided. "Oh, well you could have ended it at any moment, Minerva. We all know that, don't pretend you didn't have fun." Snape arched a brow towards her and she huffed. "I will not admit that this is the most fun I have had in years, and I will definitely not admit that it was thanks to you. And I will most certainly, under no circumstances, admit that I'm hoping it's a new tradition at Hogwarts." Snape laughed out loud as McGonagall walked away with her head held high and a strut to her steps.
"Come on, Argus. Let's get inside," Snape said as Filch stepped up to him with Mrs Norris in his arms, "No need to clean this up, it's just snow. It will sort itself out." Filch seemed relieved at Snape's words and gave the young man a grin that showcased his yellowing teeth.
"You did a good one here lad," he said and Snape nodded with a smile at the man before they both strode in tot he castle with a victorious air about them as the rumours had already started to spread around Hogwarts.

I really hope you enjoyed this one and had fun while reading it! :D Please, please tell me your favourite part/line in a comment - it would make my day! :D
As you can see I'm working on not doing too long fics as there is no way I'd be able to do all of Snapemas if I write 4k+ fics xD I'm not very good at it though; I always feel as if there should be more - but it's good practice! :D

Saving Seats and Sugar Quills
Some TLAT!Jily fluff from after they get together because I’m currently writing angsty scenes and this is what’s getting me through. Also, because it’s been seven years and We Deserve This.
Inspired by this scene:
Tumblr media
On the first Friday of her relationship with James Potter (because that was how she measured time now, apparently. Merlin and Agrippa.) Lily Evans ate breakfast with Sirius, Mary and Pete. James, Donna, and Marlene were at Quidditch practice, and Remus was busy tutoring… someone, though Sirius was too busy shuddering theatrically to explain who.
It was the first meal in six days that she’d eaten without James. She ached like she was missing a limb.
Agrippa.
They finished breakfast quickly and got to Charms early as a result. By unspoken mutual agreement, the four Gryffindors spread across an empty row of five desks, Pete next to Sirius next to open seat for James next to Lily next to Mary. They continued their debate about last night’s Harpies victory against the Cannons (a well-deserved clobbering, said Mary and Sirius; a disgraceful mockery of refereemanship, said Lily and Pete) across the gap.
Their conversation was prematurely interrupted, however, when Roger Diggory appeared and slid into the empty middle seat.
Lily blinked. “Sorry, we were actually saving…”
Roger did not seem to hear her. “So glad I snagged you! These silent Invisibility charms are kicking my arse. You’re going to save my life today, Lily.”
“But…” Lily tried to catch Sirius’s eye—surely telling people where they could and couldn’t sit was much more up his alley than hers?—but he just raised his eyebrows in amusement and turned to chat with Pete.
Of course. Because it was class. In five minutes they wouldn’t be able to talk to each other anyway, so it didn’t matter where they sat…it was pathetic that she was going to miss him.
Realizing she was being horribly rude to Roger, Lily forced a smile and nodded. “Sure, I’d be happy to partner up. The trick to Invisibility charms is just…”
The door opened behind them and Lily’s head whipped around immediately, train of thought stopped in its tracks.
James Potter strode through the door, bag hanging off one shoulder, tie off-kilter, hair wet from a shower and even messier than usual. Lily melted.
Her boyfriend scanned the room, then made a beeline for her the moment their eyes met. When he reached her desk he leaned down, seized her face in his hands, and kissed her hard. Lily’s eyes fluttered closed as their mouths moved together, and her lips seemed to read words from his: Missed you. Want you. Need you, Snaps.
It no longer seemed absurd that she should miss him from across a classroom. Suddenly it was ridiculous to imagine she could do anything else. When his tongue brushed across her bottom lip and she had to hold in a sigh, Lily broke away, flushing much too deeply for 9am Charms.
“Hi,” James murmured, and Lily smiled.
“Hi.” She bent to reach into her satchel and produced a brown paper bag. “Breakfast?”
James groaned aloud, then sat down on her desk. He swung to plant his feet on the edges of Lily’s seat, trapping her between his legs and nudging her thighs with his toes. “I knew you fancied me.”
“Eh. I’m really just in it for your body.” She kissed his knee softly, and he grinned and tucked a lock of red hair behind her ear.
“That excuse would work better if you weren’t fattening me up, Snaps.”
“With this?” She shook the bag. “Cottage cheese and vegan bacon, Love. Why, what were you expecting?”
“Ha.” James pulled the bag from her grip and ripped it open, then groaned with pleasure when the scents of kippers, biscuits, marmalade, and (mercifully non-vegan) bacon hit his nose. He tilted her chin up with two fingers and kissed her again. “You’re God’s gift to mankind.”
Lily smiled. “You don’t believe in God.”
“I believe in kippers.”
“Do you believe in sharing kippers?” Lily reached for the bag, but James caught her hand and trapped it against his thigh.
“Not when you were luxuriously eating breakfast while I ran kipper-less sprints!”
“Not with me, Git. Two of my best mates were out there running kipper-less sprints with you. Because of you.”
“But Shack and Price are small and dainty. I’m a growing boy.”
Lily laughed. “I’m telling Donna you called her small and dainty,” she threatened, and James blanched.
“My body won’t be as fun in multiple pieces.”
“Well, now, that depends on the pieces.”
James swallowed hard. Lily blinked innocently up at her boyfriend, blushing just a little. The effort of hiding her smirk made her cheeks hollow out, auburn eyelashes fluttering as she looked up at him from practically between his legs…
James shook himself. He pulled his legs off her seat and stood up, looking, a little wildly, for something else to focus on. His eyes landed on Flatface.
He rapped on Diggory’s desk with his knuckles. “Oi. Out of my seat.”
“James!” Lily blushed furiously. “Roger, he’s kidding.” Diggory, who had immediately started to pack up his stuff at the Quidditch Captain’s command, paused and looked between them.
“He isn’t,” said James. “Move.”
“I got here first,” said Diggory, emboldened by Lily’s defense. “Find another spot.”
“Where?” James inquired. “’Cause I’d sit with your girlfriend, but I heard Alexa Kyle chucked you for my best mate. Who, incidentally, is to your left, in case you’re still confused about what makes this my seat.”
Diggory’s ears turned red, and Lily glared at her boyfriend. “Ignore him, Roger.”
James shrugged. “Sure, ignore me. I hear the Toadies are overrated anyway…”
“Git!” Lily cried, but Diggory stood up and shuffled away, tail between his legs.
“I love Hufflepuffs.” James slid into the seat Diggory had vacated and grabbed Lily’s desk, yanking it a foot closer to his so he could rest his arm on the back of her chair. She crossed her arms over her chest, but she was not, he noted, annoyed enough to scoot away again.
“You’re never doing that again,” she told him firmly.
“Course not,” he agreed, grinning. “Flatface learned his lesson.”
“To anyone! So mean. You’re Head Boy, not emperor…”
“Snaps, he knew he was taking my seat…” James grabbed her elbow with his free hand, thumb stroking the soft skin.
“Because he needed my help with silent Invisibility Charms!” Lily swatted at his hand, or meant to, but somehow their fingers ended up interlocked.
“I could need your help with silent Invisibility Charms.”
Lily rolled her eyes. “Step One: take out cloak. Step Two: put on cloak. Step Three: give Roger his seat back.”
James laughed, and Lily wished she loved the sound just a little less. He settled into a very self-satisfied crooked grin, and the hand on the back of her chair lifted to rub the place where her neck met her shoulder. His thumb dug into the base of her neck, finding a knot and working it out.
Lily’s head rolled back, eyelids fluttering, and she couldn’t hide a tiny little moan that immediately reminded James of last night. “Still want me to leave?” he murmured.
Lily bit her lip, trying to muster the last of her willpower, then sighed and slumped into his arm. “I might as well get ‘Property of James Potter’ stamped across the front of my robes.”
“Would you? That’s so hot…”
“Git.” Lily grabbed his tie and tugged him in for a kiss. “I missed you.”
“Mmm…” He hummed against her lips, one hand finding her thigh and the other tangling in her hair. “Quidditch is stupid. Quitting tomorrow. Shack can be captain…”
“She’d be a significant improvement in the generosity of spirit department,” said Sirius loudly, and both Head students whipped around to see him watching them with a very self-satisfied smirk.
“Have you been staring at us this whole time?” James asked. His best mate’s smirk widened.
“Oh God, you wanted James to kick Roger out,” Lily realized. “That’s why you let him sit there, you weirdo…”
Sirius grinned. “This,” he declared, indicating both of them with a regal wave, “Is seventy-five percent my doing. Am I not entitled to enjoy the fruits of my labour?”
The Head Students shot him identical glares, but Sirius just smirked and took a bite of a Sugar Quill. Lily sighed and reached a hand across James’s desk, palm up. “You could at least share your candy with the zoo animals.”
Flitwick clapped tiny hands together to summon their attention, so Lily never did find out what had made both boys smile.

Pepper Imps and Prejudice | Yves
Hogwarts AU | Enemies to lovers | “You have the emotional capacity of a brick.”
Wordcount: 1,313
Tumblr media
“What is she doing here?”
You gritted through your teeth while staring at the slender Slytherin who was walking in front of you.
“Don’t make a scene. Jiwoo brought her.”
Jungeun looked at you warningly and you crossed your arms sulkily.
“Stop being like that! If Jiwoo likes her, I’m sure she’s nice. Just because she turned your cat into a toad in the first year doesn’t mean that she’s a horrible person.”
You gasped appalled and punched the arm of your best friend.
“Just because!? That was a big deal! Who does something like that? She has to be a sociopath.”
You huffed annoyed because you’d rather have taken Filch on your little, not quite authorized trip to Hogsmeade instead of Ha Sooyoung. But apparently you were alone in this opinion. Your friends clustered around her as you made your way to the one-eyed witch passage on the third floor, all trying to get her attention. Pathetic, you thought to yourself. How could they let themselves be wooed by her arrogance? In annoyance, you rolled your eyes and opted to stay a bit behind them in order to avoid their conversation. You were sure that Sooyoung was probably just boasting about her new robe or her year abroad in Ilvermorny anyways.
Your bad mood unfortunately also didn’t pass during your one-hour walk to Hogsmeade. Your friends kept joking around with Sooyoung and no one came to the conclusion that she was a sociopath. Therefore, you couldn’t even get yourself to enjoy Honeydukes sweetshop once you arrived. Mopishly, you roamed the aisles of the shop, hearing how your friends were having fun with the pepper imps that allowed them to breath fire until you’ve had enough and simply left without them.
“Look, Sooyoung. Here, Sooyoung. Ugh, they are so annoying.”
You mimicked your friends mockingly as you aimlessly wandered around Hogsmeade, trying to cool down a bit. They probably didn’t even notice that you were missing.
Having lost interest in your little trip, you passed all the little shops without paying attention to them until you ended up in front of the Three Broomsticks Inn. Contemplatively, you looked at the door, pondering whether you should go in for a Mulled Mead, although you were sure that drinking alone wouldn’t be much fun. Before you could make a decision though, the door to the pub suddenly swung open and three persons, engrossed in a conversation, exited, causing your eyes to widen. You knew them. They were Professor Vector, Professor Flitwick and Professor Lupin. If they would find you here, you could quite possibly get expelled or would get enslaved by Filch for the rest of the school year. And you weren’t looking forward to that. You wanted to flee as long as you still had the chance to, but your legs didn’t take any orders from your brain anymore. Paralyzed from shock, you kept standing there, staring at them and waiting for one of them to notice you. But just when Professor Vector turned her head, you suddenly felt a force pulling you into the alley next to the pub.
You didn’t even know what was happening to you until you found yourself face to face with Sooyoung. Not even four inches were separating the two of you and you almost squealed in shock, but once more Sooyoung beat you to the punch. She pressed you even closer to the wall and covered your mouth with her hand while glancing to the side where the three professors were currently passing. But you couldn’t even care less about them right now as your heart throbbed wildly in your chest. Sooyoung’s face was so close that you could feel the warmth radiating from it. You gulped thickly as your eyes studied her perfectly sculptured features and you began understanding why your friends were so whipped for her. Had she always been so beautiful? You couldn’t tell. It felt like this was the first time that you were really seeing her.
You were mesmerized and couldn’t avert your gaze; not even after the voices of the professors were nothing but a distant mumbling already. It wasn’t until Sooyoung suddenly pushed herself off you that you got ripped out of your trance.
“You shouldn’t run away like that. We were worried.”
She stated while looking at you sternly.
Wait- what did she just say? We? Did that mean that she had been worried too?
Pure chaos broke loose in your head and you felt your cheeks starting to glow. Nothing made sense. Why didn’t your heart calm down? The professors were long gone; there was no reason to be nervous anymore. So why did you still feel paralyzed?
You didn’t find an answer as your brain was completely empty and you blankly stared at Sooyoung until a shrill voice suddenly brought you back to reality.
“Y/N!!”
Jiwoo yelled as she crashed into your body.
“Where have you been?!”
She asked and you had to blink a few times before you were able to avert your gaze from Sooyoung to pay attention to the worried girl in your arms.
“I-I’m sorry, I needed some fresh air...”
You stuttered, but Jiwoo seemed to believe your lie.
“You could have told me! I was so worried when Sooyoung suddenly pointed out that you were gone. I was just trying the new exploding bonbons when- oh do you know that they have new flavors!? I tried butterbeer and...”
Jiwoo started rambling about all the sweets that she had tried, but you had stopped listening the second that she had mentioned Sooyoung.
Had you been wrong about her all this time?
You thought back to the years that you had spent in school together and realized that you didn’t really know a whole lot about her beside the things that other students had told you. What if you did wrong by her?
Caught up in your thoughts, you silently followed the rest of the group through the little streets of Hogsmeade until Jiwoo suddenly nudged you.
“What were you doing in that alley anyways?”
She asked confused and you felt your cheeks heating up as you immediately remembered how Sooyoung had pushed you against the wall.
“Oh, we hid from three professors.”
Sooyoung suddenly piped up from beside you, causing the eyes of Jiwoo to widen.
“Professors?”
The younger girl squealed panicked, having been scared of getting caught all along.
“Yup, they are probably searching Hogsmeade for naughty students.”
Sooyoung smirked and Jiwoo gasped in shock before suddenly starting to run towards Honeydukes sweetshop where the secret passage back to Hogwarts was located. You wanted to tell her that Sooyoung was just lying, but the chipper girl was out of sight before you were even able to open your mouth.
In annoyance, you huffed, “Seriously? Don’t scare her like that. Not every prank is funny. It took a lot of convincing to get her to break the school rules. You really have the emotional capacity of a brick, you know that?”
You rolled your eyes, but Sooyoung simply shrugged her shoulders.
“I can’t help it. I like to tease people. It’s how I show affection.”
She mumbled and you whipped your head around in lightning speed to look at her. Did she just say, it’s how she showed...affection? Did that mean...? In shock, you stared at her, but Sooyoung was suddenly untypically quiet and kept her gaze firmly fixed on the ground, not caring to elaborate further on her statement. For a while, you simply kept staring with an open mouth until you accepted that Sooyoung wouldn’t be making sense of the chaos in your head today.
But you didn’t mind. Something inside of you told you that this wouldn’t be the end of this conversation. Something told you that this was only the beginning. And you were already looking forward to that.

The Irreplaceable Charlie Weasley: Pt. 7, Ch. 4
PART 7: THE YEAR OF HIDING AND PASSION Chapter 4 - The Job Offers
Nova
“I am trying to focus, love.” Charlie said gently, sitting next to me in the Library. I was writing my Defense Against the Dark Arts essay. After staring at the blank piece of parchment for an hour the words finally came to me to describe the best way to approach a Kappa without using a wand.
“Huh?” I said without looking up. “Love.” I locked my eyes with Charlie's, he was pleading. I followed his gaze under the table where I was gently brushing my leg against his. “Are you do it on purpose?” He raised his eyebrow. “No.” I whispered and bit my lip. Of course, I was doing it on purpose I was almost done with my essay and I wanted to distract him. I knew that biting my lip was a huge turn-on for him. Actually, everything these days turned us on. “Nova, why are you doing this to me?” He said with a rather seductive voice pretending to be bothered by it. “I have been writing this essay for Care of Magical Creatures for 3 days now and I have to leave in the evening.” He begged. That's why I was trying to turn his attention to me. Ever since he was working part-time in Romania 2 to 3 times per week I had to get my fix of him before he left. “Then try and focus more.” I whispered very close to his ear. I saw goosebumps on his freckled arms and I knew I won. “That's it.” He put everything in his bag, sloppily, and stood up. He snatched my hand and pulled me after him.
“Forest or the Room of Requirement?” Those were our two options. Either a comfy bed in the Room or a blanket in the Forest. We still picked the Forest if we could, there was something exciting not doing it in a bed and a bit dangerous too.
We did it in a broom closet once after Tonks told me Barnaby showed it to her and we tried sneaking into the Gryffindor Common Room but we were so in the moment that we forgot to knock and walked in on Jae and Tulip and I don't ever want to see her naked on top of him ever again.
“Forest's too far. Let's try the Seventh Floor.” I said, my heart beating fast. We ran all the way up and the door was already there. “You're quick at work.” I smirked at him. “I think somebody else is inside.” He looked at me, disappointed. I walked to the door and tried opening it, it didn't budge. “Now what?” I breathed. “The Forest?” “It's too far, I can't wait that long.” He put his hands on my hips and pressed me against the wall. “I want you now.” He whispered in my ear.
My whole body shook at his words. At that moment I didn't care if we do it in the middle of the hallway. I looked around to find a solution. On our right, there was a statue next to a wall and an alcove behind it. I grabbed his hand and pulled him to it. We stopped and our eyes met. “Worth a try.” He shrugged his shoulders and helped me squeeze inside. Nobody ever visited the Seventh Floor anyway. He pressed me hard against the wall. One of his hands on my waist the other on the wall above my head. I pulled myself up and wrapped my legs around him so we were even closer together and stuck my tongue in his mouth. Our breaths got deeper and louder and my heart was beating as if I was running after a Niffler. I parted our hips just a little bit and started opening his pants. He moved his lips to my neck and started kissing it passionately. I slipped my hand down his boxers. “Fuck.” He breathed in my ear and I felt like I was about to explode from all the heat rushing through my body. He lifted my skirt, for which I now understood Tulip why she wore them so much, and hastily started pulling my underwear down, my hand still on his... “WHAT...ARE...YOU...DOING?” Our bodies froze and we lifted our heads towards the voice. It was Snape and I have never seen him so angry in my life. I tried seeing this scene from his perspective and wondered if there was any chance he didn't see I had my hand down my boyfriend's pants.
“100 points from Ravenclaw?!” I heard a voice getting nearer. Tulip, who sat next to me and Charlie, Tonks, and Penny sitting opposite us at the Gryffindor Table all looked in Andre's direction.
“Blackwood, what the fuck?” Andre took his Head Boy responsibilities as seriously as Penny did and I could see how this was a big deal. I didn't know what to say. “And I believe you had something to do with it?” He looked at Charlie. “The rubies on the Gryffindor scale almost disappeared. What did you do, kill someone?” Charlie and I exchanged looks. We were both so red in the face that there was no point in hiding it. The girls were beaming, waiting for our answer. “That would've been less embarrassing.” Charlie answered slowly. “What happened?” Tulip asked, with a grin on her face. “How do you lose 100 points at once, even I never managed to lose that many.” Tonks sounded a bit jealous but impressed. I looked at Charlie. “Might as well tell them.” He whispered. “Oh, you will tell!” Andre frowned. “Blackwood, are you trying to put us in the last place!” “Snape caught us...” My cheeks were burning when I looked at Tulip, smirking. She already knew what I was about to say. “Having sex on the Seventh Floor.” All but Andre burst out laughing. His face was mortified and I knew he regretted asking. “Why didn't you use the Room?” Tonks said, tears of laughter running down her face. “Someone was in it. We couldn't get inside.” Charlie answered trying not to laugh with them because Andre was still not having it. “When was this?” Tulip asked. “This morning.” I answered. “That would be our fault.” Penny said shyly, her cheeks turning pink as she looked at Andre. “Great, now I am an accomplice to losing 100 points.” He slapped his palm against his forehead. “Where were you that he saw you?” Tonks wanted to know more. “Do you know that statue on the Seventh Floor, the one with an alcove?” Charlie started. They all nodded. “Well, we sneaked behind it.” I finished. “But you were pretty well hidden, you could just be making out. What gave you away?” Penny thought out loud. “Nova's hand down my pants, I reckon.” Charlie said innocently, his face was as red as a tomato. Tonks spat out her pumpkin juice. Even Andre was laughing now. “Naughty girl!” I turned to Tulip and she winked at me. “I have never seen him so angry. Not even when he realized in the middle of a lesson that Penny used all his Flobberworm mucus.” Penny gasped. He was really mad then and she couldn't imagine how he could get madder than that. “He was shouting at us for solid five minutes and because of how he was standing we couldn't really turn around or do anything really so I just put my hands in the air and we waited for him to stop yelling.” I continued. They were laughing so hard that I couldn't help but do the same. “At least you took your hands out of his pants.” Tonks was slamming her fist against the table, trying to catch her breath. “And he gave us each a month's worth of detention. I have to clean toilets without magic and Nova has to do the trophies.” Charlie finally finished the story. “So what did you do after that?” Andre asked, now invested in the story. “We waited until he stormed off, got out, and went to the Forest to finish what we started.” I said casually. “That's my girl.” Tulip pulled me in a half hug and ruffled my hair.
“I did not expect that when I asked why you lost points.” Andre wiped a tear from his eyes. “But I am here to tell you that both of your Heads of House want to see you.” Charlie and I gulped. “I reckon nobody in the history of Hogwarts lost so many points at once.” His face screwed, saying he would not want to be in our shoes at that moment and when I locked eyes with Charlie, we knew that neither did we.
“Mr. Weasley, in there please!” Charlie and I turned around and saw Professor McGonagall rushing towards us down the corridor pointing at a door to our left. We were ready to say goodbye and wish each other good luck as we stopped in front of Charms Class.
“Professor Flitwick and I want to speak to both of you at once.” I didn't know what to make of her face as she got closer. She looked more worried than angry. She was my favorite professor and I dreaded having any sort of discussion about my love life with her.
“Ah, Minerva.” Professor Flitwick was just climbing on top of his books. “I see you've found them. Come in!” I didn't know if Flitwick was actually cheerful or did he always look like that no matter the circumstances.
McGonagall took out her wand and two chairs appeared in front of me and Charlie.
“Sit, please.” She said. We exchanged a look and sat down. My heart was beating so fast. I have lost a few points over the years but never 100. I don't think anybody has lost so many points to their House. Perhaps Tonks, but on several occasions during the year not in one morning.
“Well...” McGonagall started and I could see she was just as uncomfortable as we were. “I hope you both know why you are here.” She quickly glanced at Flitwick hoping he would speak.
“Ah, yes.” He was just as nervous. This was going to be the most awkward conversation any of us will ever have.
“We knew that with the friendship you two sparked over the years it was only a matter of time you come together...” Flitwick cleared his throat. “In another way.” My cheeks were burning so much that I thought they would erupt in flames.
“And we, just as much as the both of you, would be happier if Professor Snape wasn't the one who found you this morning.” McGonagall spoke now. “We know being in love is thrilling and we have nothing against that...” I could swear I could see her blush. “And we understand that being in different Houses isn't exactly easy to...well...sneak around.” She coughed.
“However, no matter how understanding we might be compared to Professor Snape about these...matters.” Flitwick said. “We have to urge you to be more careful.”
“Yes, Professor.” Charlie and I said together as if we were being punished back in our First Year.
“We hope we don't need to talk to you about...”
“No, please! We know everything!” I interrupted McGonagall. I really didn't want sex ed from my favorite professors. I could see Charlie sunk even more into his chair with the corner of my eye.
“Good!” Both Flitwick and McGonagall said relieved.
“As much as we don't want to and we tried our best to protect you, we can't avoid the fact that you lost 100 points to both Gryffindor and Ravenclaw.” McGonagall said, disappointed. “Professor Dumbledore permitted us to talk to you before we do what we were told as he is just as understanding as we are and this...incident...” McGonagall put her hand over her mouth. “Only happened once before in Hogwarts in all our teaching years.”
This was the first time Charlie and I looked at each other. I couldn't help but be relieved that we weren't the first one being caught having sex.
“Who...” Charlie's voice was coarse. I know he was just as curious as I was about who the other two idiots were but he changed his mind.
Professor Flitwick and McGonagall looked at each other and I could swear that I could see their lips curve.
“It was your parents, Mr. Weasley.” They both looked at Charlie.
If the situation wasn't as serious as it was, I would have burst out laughing. Charlie on the other hand looked like he was about to vomit. I couldn't imagine a sweet and affectionate couple such as Molly and Arthur being caught having sex around the Castle but Charlie apparently could and I knew the image in his mind scarred his eyes forever.
“Fortunately for them, they were found by Professor Sprout and not Professor Snape so they only got detention.” McGonagall seemed to be amused. Charlie placed his hands over his eyes and I knew he was trying to think of anything else but his parents sneaking around school.
“Now...” Flitwick spoke after giving Charlie a moment. “We have a rule about losing House points.” I swallowed hard, I knew we weren't here to make Charlie uncomfortable.
“If a student loses more than 50 points at once, we have to notify their parents.” McGonagall looked at me and then at Charlie.
“Oh, Professor, please don't!” I stood up at once. This was a nightmare. Out of all the scenarios Charlie and I went through how our parents could find out about us, this was never the one and it was the worst way of letting them know.
“Please, we didn't tell them yet.” Charlie stood up too and I relaxed as his hand found mine.
“We have feared as much.” McGonagall looked at Flitwick. “And I assume you are not planning on telling them in a letter?” I knew it was a rhetorical question.
After a long pause, McGonagall turned to Flitwick.
“What do you say, Filius?” She said gently. We all watched him think about it.
“Perhaps, we can try and make an exception.” He said slowly. “Talk to Dumbledore...” He turned to me and Charlie. “I am sure he will understand.”
“Our biggest concern is Professor Snape.” McGonagall explained to us. “He does not tolerate...well...you know...” She gestured with her hand towards us, her cheeks slightly pink.
“We will try to do something about it.” Flitwick turned to her and they both nodded.
“You are both such exceptional students, we wouldn't want to be the ones to tell your parents something like that.” She agreed with him.
“Thank you, Professor McGonagall.” Charlie said, looking up at them.
“Thank you, Professor Flitwick.” I followed his lead and looked at both of our teachers, who tried to look serious.
“Very well, you are excused.” We both stood up and started heading to the door without looking too obvious just how much we wanted to run out of the room.
“One more thing, Miss Blackwood, Mr. Weasley!” McGonagall stopped us right when Charlie tried to open the door. We both turned around to face them. “Please, try to be more careful, this has been as embarrassing for us as it has been for you.”
She looked at Flitwick and he nodded shyly but reassuringly. We tried to the best of our abilities to pull off a smile, nodded, and ran out as fast as we could!
We didn't say a word until we reached the Courtyard. One look at each other and we burst out laughing.
“No offense, love, but we are never having sex in school, again.” Charlie said still clutching his stomach.
“You mean on School Grounds?” I winked at him. “Or is the Forest forbidden as well.” I chuckled.
“Of course, not.” He melted me with his charming smile. “I couldn't bear to stay away from you for so long.” He said seductively, pulling me closer to him.
“So, your parents, huh!” I started laughing again.
“Please...” He put his fingers over his eyes and rubbed them. “Can we never mention that again? I won't be able to sleep and I am definitely not going home for Christmas!” He cried. I tried to contain my laughter.
“Look on the bright side...” I smirked and he eyed me suspiciously. “At least you know where you get your talent from.” I winked at him.
“Oh, shut it, Blackwood!” He pulled me into a half hug, his cheeks bright red and we hurried to the last class we would have together before we would have to go to the Station to say goodbye as he was leaving for Romania.
I had to take every opportunity that I got when Charlie was in Romania to study and catch up on my homework. We were doing better and were studying more and even though I love every single thing we do, I am happy that we can finally focus on something that isn't each other. For a month there I thought that we would fail our Seventh Year and to think that it's the N.E.W.T.s year just makes my stomach ache. I really am a Ravenclaw. I decided to write my Herbology essay while having breakfast. I knew the material as I read it in our Common Room yesterday, so it shouldn't be that difficult. I sat down at the Ravenclaw Table and took everything out. I was one paragraph in when I heard the twins and I knew they were coming my way. “Nova.” Fred said. “Blackwood.” George followed. They sat down in front of me with the biggest mischievous grin I have ever seen. I hope they didn't do anything to get themselves in trouble while Charlie is in Romania. “Can I help you two?” I said, uninterested, my eyes still on my essay. “Oh, nothing just dropped by.” Fred said in a voice that I knew wasn't nothing. “We thought we'd pay our favorite Weasley a visit.” My eyes widened. I lifted my head at them and I did not like the look on their faces. “Again, what do you want?” I tried to act unphased by what they said. “Oh, we just have a question for you.” George sang. “And that would be?” I gestured that they should speak faster. “How long have you been snogging our brother for?” Fred asked and they both winked at me. How did they know? “What?” I barked. Perhaps they were bluffing. “Stop pretending, Nova. We saw you kiss at the Station when Charlie left.” George was beaming. “At the...” I was lost for words for a second. "You two are Second Years how did you get to Hogsmeade?” I was as concerned as I was curious. No wonder Charlie never saw them. “So you're not denying it then?” Fred ignored my question. I didn't know what to do. They cornered me. “None of our business, but why are you hiding your relationship?” George spoke again after my uncomfortable silence. I don't think I have ever seen them be so serious. “Our family loves you, there's nothing to hide.” Fred's words made me blush. “We have our reasons for which you are too young to understand.” “We reckoned it would happen sooner or later. You were the only person who ever listened to Charlie speak so much about Dragons.” They both laughed and I threw my notebook at them. “I suppose there's no point in me convincing you not to tell your parents?” I rolled my eyes. I didn't know what to do and I didn't want Charlie to get a letter from his mum while in Romania. “When are you planning on telling them?” George asked. “I dunno. When the time is right.” I didn't know when we were going to tell them. We didn't talk about it now that we weren't at the Burrow and we were planning to stay at Hogwarts for Christmas so probably once we get to the Burrow in the Summer. “We can do it for you!” Fred whispered, now leaned over the table.
“What do you gain if you tell them? You said they love me.” I crossed my arms on my chest, my heart racing, and my mind fast at work. I was trying to think of anything that would make them keep our secret. “Mum would be sad that you didn't tell her.” Said George. “I reckon it would be a nice show to watch when you come to visit for the Summer.” Fred laughed and I rolled my eyes. “Charlie's going to kill you!” I pointed my quill at them. “Our teddy bear of a brother?” Smirked Fred. “And I...” I said with the biggest grin on my face as I thought of the only thing that could actually make them stay quiet. “Can persuade your brother, the Quidditch Team Captain, to kick you off the Team!” They gasped. “You wouldn't!” They said together. “Oh, I would!” I stuck my tongue out at them. They looked at each other and shrugged their shoulders. “Good blackmailing skills, Blackwood.” They both offered me their hand to shake. I did so even though I wasn't sure why. “We won't tell. We promise.” Fred said, his hand on his heart. They began to leave. “We just wanted to have some fun with you.” He winked. I couldn't stop my lips from curving. No matter how much trouble those two were I still loved them so much. “And all jokes aside,” they turned back to me, “welcome to the family.” They grinned and walked away.
I couldn't believe they made me blush twice in a single conversation. Now I just have to hope they really won't tell and I need to make a mental note that when Charlie comes back we discuss when to tell his family or 4 members out of 8 at least.
I tried to stop thinking about it and went back to my essay. Not a minute later I heard someone jogging in my direction and Penny sat down opposite me. I looked up. She was shaking, her eyes were sparkling and she appeared to be holding a blue letter in her hands.
Before I could say a word, she handed me the opened envelope, her grin ever-growing. I put down my quill and opened it.
Dear Penelope Haywood,

We are looking forward to seeing you join our staff.
Yours sincerely,
Madame Olympe Maxime
Directice
My eyes started to sparkle almost as much as Penny's did. She has been talking about this job since June when she heard from a cousin that goes there that they had an opening.
“Penny! You got it!” I stood up and before I could reach her she was already in front of me. I hugged her tightly, the letter still in my hand.
“I got it, Nova! I got the job!” Tears started running down her face as she was jumping with me up and down. “It's not my dream position but it's a start and it's going to open so many possibilities!” Her voice was so high-pitched that if I didn't share her excitement with her I would lose my hearing, but I didn't care.
I knew how anxious she was to receive this letter as she sent it in August after she convinced Snape to write her a recommendation letter. She has given up all hope of ever getting a reply as they took so long but here it was. I didn't have a single doubt in my mind that she wouldn't get it.
“Did you tell Andre yet?” I asked when we finally sat down.
“No.” She frowned. I knew she dreaded talking about it. They were in a similar situation Charlie and I were in. Andre got a chance to play Quidditch Professionally for 3 different teams and none of them were in France.
“I'm sure you two are going to figure something out.” I reassured her.
“You're suddenly very optimistic.” She narrowed my eyes at me. “Did you finally talk to Charlie about America?”
“We talked, yes.” I cleared my throat. “And we decided we'll just have to make it work. We're too good together not to give long distance a try.” I couldn't stop my lips from curving.
“I told you to think about it! It's not going to be that bad!” She beamed. “Sure, you're going to miss each other but it's better than breaking up.”
“Says you who just frowned at me when I asked if you told Andre.” I raised my eyebrows. “You can do the same you know. At least you'll both be in Europe. You can apparate.”
“It's just so overwhelming thinking we are leaving this amazing place so soon.” She looked up at the enchanted ceiling. “So many memories, so many friendships, and relationships made.” She blinked quickly a few times and I knew she was holding in the tears.
“I know, but we still have a semester and a half to go and I am sure we are going to do our best to say goodbye.” I smiled at her gently. I don't know where all of those encouraging words came from as I was thinking the same thing as she did for weeks. But now that I was talking to her, I somehow knew that despite being wherever in the world, we are still going to stay friends and that everything will be okay.
“Wotcher, Nova.” Tonks sat down next to me not even 10 minutes after Penny left. I am a magnet for people today!
“Tonks, what brought you down?” She leaned on my shoulder, looking upset.
“Barnaby and I broke up.” She sighed.
“What?” I turned to her and hugged her. “Why?”
“He is moving to America, he got a job in New York, something to do with Kneazles.” She swung her hand as if she already forgot what exactly he was going to do there. “And I got a job in the Auror Department at the Ministry. I start my training in August and everything. Can you believe it?” She didn't sound at all excited.
“I am so sorry for you and Barnaby but Tonks congratulations on your job!” I shook her a little to get some excitement out of her. “That's great news! It's what you wanted!”
“I know. I just feel so down, you know.” She leaned back on my shoulder.
“Because of Barnaby?” I asked, understandingly.
“Nah. Not really. I knew it would happen sooner or later. We didn't mean to continue after we graduate and I want to date someone a bit older anyway, you know.” I didn't actually, as she never talked about having any interest in dating anyone but I was glad she was opening her mind to the possibility.
“Then what's bringing you down so much?” I failed to understand what seemed to be wrong.
“I got a job, Nova. It means I'm almost an adult.” I tried hard not to giggle. We were all struggling with the realization that this time next year we won't be students anymore.
“I know, Tonks. No more pranks.” I sighed and tried putting myself in her shoes.
“What will I do now, Nova?” She slammed her head into my shoulder twice.
“Well, you will be a badass and chase bad wizards and protect the Magic folk.” I encouraged her.
“I guess that's a nice upgrade from pranking.” She shrugged her shoulders.
“Anyways, I will leave you to your essay and go annoy Penny. She loves when I am miserable. She feels helpful.” She stood up. “You know where she is?”
“She came to see me before you but I think she said something about meeting Andre.” I answered.
“There goes my plan.” She sat back down.
“I don't mind if you stay here with me or you can go to Hagrid's. He always knows how to cheer Charlie up and he makes amazing tea.” I squeezed her shoulder.
“That's sounds nice, actually.” She scratched her nose, debating my idea. “I think I'll go do that.” She stood up, hugged me from behind, and left the Hall.
I thought that all I was going to do with my day would be to finish my essay. But so much has happened. Penny and Tonks both got amazing jobs and apparently so did Barnaby, which reminded me that I should speak to him about New York. Charlie was already in Dream-Dragonland and Tulip was already settled from last year as her research with her uncle was approved.
I couldn't stop having this weird feeling in my stomach that I was the only one who didn't have a job secured. I knew I still had time and I already wrote to some of the contacts Kettleburn gave me but for some reason, nothing really interested me. Every time I gave an idea a thought, Charlie came to mind and I couldn't help but secretly wish to work with him and I...
“Hi.” I put down my quill, closed my ink bottle, and started putting everything in my bag as Percy sat down next to me and I lost all hope that I would ever finish my essay.
“Hi, Perce.” I had no idea why he came to see me as we never talked at school and the only time he talked to me was to ask me which book I was reading, if I was doing so on the sofa at the Burrow.
“I have a problem.” He sighed. I didn't notice at first, but he looked really shy and kind of embarrassed. I felt uncomfortable as we weren't so close that I would be able to help him with anything but he is family now that I am with Charlie, so I have to try.
“Okay.” I said slowly. “What's on your mind?” I turned to him and leaned my head on my hand.
“I have a crush on this girl but I don't know what to do.” With his head down, he more mumbled into his robes than to me.
He had a crush and he came to me? I know Bill wasn't around anymore and Charlie, who was now the oldest at Hogwarts was in Romania, so I started to feel quite special to be the next best thing.
“Well, do you reckon she fancies you back?” I didn't know how to start this conversation. I wasn't exactly an expert when it comes to dating.
“How do you figure that out?” He looked up at me. He was adorable at how concerned he looked.
“I don't know. Did you ever talk to her? Is she your friend?” I tried to get as much information as I could.
“She's in my year.” Percy started. “She's a Ravenclaw like you.”
“Do you have any lessons together?” I asked.
“Yes, we did this project together last month. That was the first time we spoke.” His cheeks turned pink and I couldn't help but chuckle. I have never seen this side of him before and I found it so cute.
“What's her name, perhaps I can put in a good word for you?” I smiled.
“Penelope Clearwater.” He whispered, careful not to be heard by anyone.
“I know her. She's cute.” I exclaimed. “She is.” A broad grin painted his face and I felt as if he was going to melt. Percy wasn't just into books after all!
“You should talk to her.” I nudged him with my elbow.
“But what would I say?” He sighed.
“Invite her to eat lunch with you or perhaps you could study together.” I gave him some suggestions. He scratched his head, thinking hard.
“I reckon I could invite her to study with me!” His mood changed at once.
“See, there you go. Don't be shy, just ask her. It's better to do it sooner rather than later.” I patted his shoulder.
“Are you talking about you and Charlie?” He asked casually. My eyes widened.
“What do you mean?” I asked, disingenuously.
“Fred and George told me.” He gave out a weak smile. I will kill those two, I swear!
“I won't tell mum and dad. I really don't care about it that much.” He reassured me before I had a chance to speak. “You already felt like part of the family, so nothing changed for me.” He added. My cheeks turned red. That had to be the nicest thing Percy has ever said to me.
“T-thank you, Perce.” I didn't know what else to say.
“And don't keep it from our family. They like you, you know.” He stood up and dusted his robes. “Thank you for the advice. Bye.”
And just like that, I was alone again. I looked after him, my mouth open. I couldn't believe the conversation I just had with him or any of the conversations I had today. I decided to give my essay another go and was more than surprised that nobody else came to see me with a job announcement, telling me that they know about me and Charlie or having love problems. It was finally just me and my Herbology essay.
Ever since Charlie came back from Romania, he has been awfully cheerful and looked like he was hiding something from me all the time. He barely told me what he did in the Sanctuary and every time I tried to ask him about it, he had the biggest grin on his face but refused to tell me anything.
I was getting rather annoyed because I knew he wasn't telling me something so when I woke up on Thursday, knowing he would leave the next day again, I decided to confront him about it.
I woke Tulip up, surprised that she was even in our room and we went down for breakfast. We spotted Penny, Tonks, Andre, and Charlie sitting at the Hufflepuff Table and I sat down next to Charlie and gave him a kiss.
There was no point in hiding now since all of our friends and all of Charlie's brothers knew about us. I told him that they all knew and that Fred and George are somehow sneaking into Hogsmeade but he knew that if he told mum, they would tell her about us so he just stayed quiet and instead gave them a rough time during Quidditch practice.
Penny was helping Andre with an essay and Tonks was lazily eating her cereal, looking a bit better after a whole week of being miserable by the fact that she is growing up. Tulip tried cheering her up by listing all the things she can buy for her at Zonko's on our Saturday's Hogsmeade trip but Tonks didn't look that amused about it.
It was time for Owl Post and I saw Pip flying among other owls. I recognized the envelope in his beak at once. It was green with a red Dragon seal and without even thinking twice about it, I returned to my eggs and bacon.
“Since when is Pip delivering your Sanctuary letters?” I asked Charlie and turned to him. “It's addressed to you, love.” He took the letter from Pip and petted him. He had the exact same grin on his face as he did most of the time since he came back last week.
“To me?” I frowned, confused. “Why would they write to me?” I took the letter from his hands and read the addressee. He was right, the letter was for me.
I turned it around, broke the seal, and pulled out the parchment.
Dear Nova Io Blackwood,
our researchers have started working on a project to study how Dragons interact with other Magical creatures from infancy to adulthood and they are looking for a new Magizoologist to join their team.
One of our trainees, Charles Weasley, has told us that you are striving to become one after you graduate from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. We have taken the liberty to look into how you are doing at school and we have to say we were impressed by your talents.
We would like to invite you to join our team in August when we launch our project. Attached to this letter, you will find all the requirements and paperwork you would need to fill out so we could prepare everything for you.
Please send us an owl with your answer as soon as possible so that we can arrange everything for your arrival next Summer.
All the best!
Andrei Todoran

I stared at the letter for solid 5 minutes with an open mouth. THIS was what Charlie was hiding from me? He got me a job! I couldn't stop reading it.
“Nova, what is it?” Penny asked. I looked up and they were all staring at me, wanting to know what was going on.
“What did they send you?” Asked Tulip.
I looked at Charlie, who chuckled. I didn't know what to do or say, so I looked down and reread the letter for what seemed like the 10th time.
“Yeah, love, what did they send you?” Charlie winked at me.
“I can't believe you did this.” I said under my breath. I finally looked back up at my friends and gave them the letter.
Penny shrieked and I saw Tonks smile for the first time in a week.
“What do you say, love?” Charlie placed his hand on my cheek and turned my head to his. “Want to work with me in Romania?”
I didn't have the words to explain how I felt. My heart was beating fast and I was shaking. I jumped into his embrace and tears started running down my face. I felt the biggest burden lifted off my chest as I realized that I didn't care that I was the only one who didn't have a job yet. I didn't care where I would end up, I just wanted to be with Charlie.
We dreamt about this and talked about this more than we would like to admit as we wanted to not only stay together but work together as well. Charlie said that they were only employing Dragonologists as far as he knew and he never mentioned this before so it had to be a whole new project like they said.
“Are you kidding?” I sobbed into his shoulder. “When can I start!” I have never been so excited about anything in my life. No more bickering about the long-distance, no more worries about how we will miss each other and it was all thanks to Charlie.
“I was hoping you would like it.” He pressed his lips against mine.
“How could you keep this from me for a week!” I gently punched his shoulder.
“Trust me, it was hard!” He chuckled. “I knew they were going to send you the letter but I didn't know it was going to take this long.” He wiped my cheeks.
“I hope you don't mind that I told them about you. I just heard about the project on Sunday as I was leaving and I knew the job would fill in fast so I recommended you immediately.” His grin grew even larger.
“Mind?” I shook my head. “Charles, this is the best gift you have ever given me.” I kissed him again and it felt different. It felt better. It felt good knowing I wouldn't have to miss those lips and his homey smell once we both move to Romania.

Hi I really loved your truth or dare fic! Can I have Remus defending Sirius when there are false rumors about Sirius being a playboy and Sirius is upset about it please?
thank you for the prompt! hope you like how it turned out!
tw: sexual harassment
“Hey there, Sirius.”
Remus glanced across from his seat next to Peter at the Gryffindor table to see Thomas Greenway, a Ravenclaw prefect, shove his way onto the opposite bench, pushing James aside in order to squeeze next to Sirius. Thomas was tall, with dark, slicked back hair and Remus despised him. He thought he was better than most students in the school and was hell to work with during prefect meetings. Even Lily couldn’t stand him.
“Don’t mind me, Thomas.” James said irritably stabbing at his dinner and turning away from the Ravenclaw. Peter frowned at James but Thomas didn’t seem to hear him, instead focusing his full attention on Sirius, who had yet to say a word.
“How would you like to meet me after dinner, hm? We could...find somewhere private to hang out?” Thomas whispered in the Gryffindor’s ear.
Remus watched with furrowed brows as Thomas’ fingers danced their way down Sirius arm, coming to rest somewhere beneath the table. Sirius shifted uncomfortably and stared down at the table resolutely. Remus gripped the table tightly, trying to quell the sudden anger inside of him, but to no avail. The unsettled look on Sirius’ face and the clear ignorance of Thomas was making his blood boil.
“I’m busy.” Sirius said shortly, sliding as far as he could down the bench, bumping into Alice who was sitting beside Lily. The two girls looked up, just then noticing the interaction.
“C’mon,” Thomas said, in a low, impatient tone, “you sucked off both Richie Wadsworth and Quentin Dall last week, can’t you do the same for me?”
“We didn’t—we just kissed. I never—“ Sirius stuttered, his face turning a deep shade of red as he glanced around the table to see that most the attention had fallen on he and Thomas now. The Ravenclaw scoffed and slid his hand across Sirius’ thigh.
“That’s not what I heard. Aren’t you supposed to be the local Gryffinwhore or something? You’ve been with like half the guys in school and even with some birds, ain’t that right?”
James had stood from his seat just then, ready to give Thomas a piece of his mind, but Remus beat him to it. He launched his fist across the table without a second thought, the sound of his fist connecting with Thomas’ jaw rang in his ears like a lovely tune. Most everyone around the table gasped, their eyes blown wide at the scene but Remus just glared at Thomas.
“Shut the fuck up, Greenway.” Remus hissed as Thomas held a hand to his jaw. The Ravenclaw looked at him and glared.
“What the hell, Lupin?” He hissed. “What was that for?”
“For harassing Sirius you dumb fuck!” Remus yelled and Peter hastily grabbed hold of his robes, afraid of his friend launching across the table and ripping Thomas’ head off, and oh, how Remus would have liked to. Students from all over the Great Hall were turning toward the commotion now, even the attention of the staff table had been drawn. Professor McGonagall was hastily making her way towards them with Professor Flitwick in tow.
“You’re just jealous that even a slut like Sirius won’t sleep with someone as ugly as you!” Thomas shouted back.
Remus saw red.
He thrust himself forward, causing Peter to squeak as he tried holding him back. James leapt up, trying to help restrain Remus while Sirius stared with glistening wide eyes. Thomas had stood too, clearly ready to fight, but before anything could happen, Professor McGonagall announced her presence.
“What is the meaning of this?” She said imperiously, glaring at the group as a whole.
“This motherfucker—“
“Language, Mister Lupin!”
“Is harassing Sirius!”
“It’s not harassment is he’s into it! He practically begged to suck my dick!”
“He did not!” Lily shouted, her eyes narrowing menacingly at Thomas.
Suddenly, Sirius launched from his seat, grabbing his bag and rushing out of the great hall despite both James and McGonagall yelling after him. Remus watched him go, suddenly feeling guilty for the scene he had caused that had drawn attention to his friend.
“Mister Lupin, you have detention with me this evening after supper!” McGonagall chirped as Professor Flitwick made it to the table, giving Thomas the same punishment. Remus nodded, admitting defeat and plopping back down into his seat. Peter let out a breath of relief and James started towards the exit of the hall after Sirius.
“Mr. Potter,” McGonagall called and James stopped to look at her. “Please tell Sirius that I would like to speak with him in my office.” Her voice was soft now, a flicker of sadness in her eyes and James nodded before hurrying after his friend once more. Remus watched numbly, wishing he had done something more.
****
McGonagall had gone easy on him during detention, not even assigning him anything to do and rather just making him sit there to “think about what he had done.” So Remus thought and came to the conclusion that he should have done more to mess up Thomas’ pretty face. Sirius wasn’t a whore. Sirius hadn’t even gotten past a few make out sessions as far as Remus knew and he couldn’t imagine Sirius allowing himself to be used by just anyone.
The reputation of a Sirius being a sort of play-boy had gotten out of control. Sure, he would flirt with almost everyone, but when it came to actually doing anything, Sirius was quite respectful and caring. He deserved much better than guys like Thomas who just wanted to use him...
Remus’ thoughts kept swirling around as he walked back to the dorm, only stopping when he heard soft muttering coming from behind the door. He leaned in, almost grateful for his intense werewolf hearing.
“I’m not a whore James, I swear. I haven’t even...I haven’t even done anything except kiss a few blokes!”
“I know, Sirius. I know that.”
“Why does everyone think that? Why does everyone feel so...so entitled to my body now?”
Sirius voice broke at the end and Remus felt his heart clench. Sirius rarely cried, opting to suppress his feelings instead of facing them, but the humiliation of the day proved to be too much for him.
“It’s not right.” James mumbled. “You should have told McGonagall. This isn’t the first guy that has approached you like this, Sirius. And I’m worried that someone is going to push too far one of these times and you’ll get hurt.”
Remus stilled. This wasn’t the first time Sirius had been harassed? How many others were there? Why hadn’t anyone told Remus? Without another thought he swung the door open, his heart pounding in his chest and the revelation he just heard.
Both James and Sirius jumped when they saw Remus, not having expected him back so early. Sirius had tear stains on his face and was hastily trying to make himself look presentable while James ran a nervous hand through his hair.
“How long you been standing there, Moony?”
“Long enough to know that this hasn’t been a one time occurrence.” Remus practically growled. James looked down, a slightly ashamed expression on his face and Sirius let out a sigh.
“I didn’t want you to know.” Sirius mumbled.
“Why?” Remus said, a little hurt that his friend hadn’t confided in him. “Why wouldn’t you tell me? I could’ve helped!”
“I didn’t want your help, Remus!” Sirius shouted, standing and glaring at Remus. “I didn’t want you, of all people, to ever know what everyone else thought of me because I was scared that the one guy I actually do like might think the same thing!”
Remus stood there, shocked at Sirius’ outburst. His heart which had been thundering loudly in his chest had come to a stand still. The one guy I actually do like...
“Pads,” Remus said, “I could never think about you in an unsavory way. It wouldn’t even matter if you had been with half of the school or no one at all, I would never ever think anything ill about you. I care about you too much.”
Sirius’ eyes shined with tears. “I didn’t sleep with any of those guys.”
“I know.”
“I never wanted the attention from them.”
“I know.”
“I just want you, Moons.”
Remus rushed forward and pulled Sirius to his chest, allowing the smaller boy to cling onto him as he cried. James excused himself, though Remus didn’t pay attention to where he said he was going, all his attention focusing on Sirius and Sirius alone. Remus held him tight, pressing soft kisses to his head, vowing to never let anyone hurt him again.
“You have me, Pads. You’ll always have me.”

Regarding Sadie mac Lir
Hi, so. I wanted to do a segment about characters from a certain media or characters that I made up. This is just a test since I noticed that my long form stuff is no longer working. Featuring a whole lot more pictures. It might change my weekly long post schedule but its a shot I’m willing to take. Today its about my Hogwarts Mystery Character; Sadie mac Lir.
Tumblr media
Born in [god knows what year this game was set in], Sadie is a Muggle Born Witch attending Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the House of Ravenclaw. Currently in the early chapters of Year 4. Using her wits and her will to solve the mysteries of the Curse Vaults in search of her brother, Jacob. (which I have zero interest in because the plot is stupid).
Tumblr media
Initially an adorable short haired brunette, Sadie started picking up some shape and sense in fashion a little later after a year and decided to compliment her style with her hair by keep them long from Year 2 onwards.
While not seen here, her style leans more towards dark colors and jackets. She also dawns a gold flying dragon neckless and a silver bracelet one her right arm with strange properties.
Tumblr media
As a witch, Sadie is naturally gifted in magic. Her particular specialty is in Charms. Thinking several steps ahead in duels, making her a potential duel master. Not as good as Professor Flitwick but a potential star nonetheless.
As a passion, she gradually grew to love potion brewing calling it “magic but as a science.”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
On occasions, Sadie is seen dawning a pair of glasses mostly during Quidditch. In Year 2 during tryouts, an unnamed teammate confronted Sadie that she could be suffering from farsightedness. Noting that Sadie’s performance as the new Quidditch Chaser to score goals was diminishing. Thanks to the teammate and Rowan, she was able to find a suitable pair of stylized glasses to aid her. While it helped, it would never be as iconic as The Boy Who Lived.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In her personal life, Sadie’s list of friends can be summarized as tightly close and intimately personal since she grew up in a rather broken household. (not by choice) Her first and closest best friend/ sister is Rowan Khanna who is often working behind the scenes on researching and networking with other students to help Sadie from time to time. Aside from Rowan, Sadie is also good friends with Chiara Lobosca and Talbott Winger.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Initially plaining to cruise by her years at Hogwarts, Sadie’s first year incidents caught the attention of a number of students her year including the Hufflepuff witch; Penny Haywood.
Through their love for adventures, Sadie and Penny bonded over the excitement of uncovering interesting rumors and kept secrets in Hogwarts. Sadie is often seen joining Penny for Quidditch practice games that eventually lead to her joining the team when one of their chasers was injured. Overtime, Sadie has openly expressed that she loves Penny a lot more than just a friend, suggesting that Penny was her crush. (Further questioning is required)
Tumblr media
Outside of in-game lore. Sadie is confirmed to be connected to an ancient god of mythology, Lir. Possibly similar to Percy Jackson’s world of gods and demigods. Unlike Percy, Sadie’s relation to Lir is rather ambiguous. Depending on who you ask, some say she is directly related with Lir being the father of sorts. Others claim that she is distant and diminished descendent of Lir.
One could suggest that Sadie is a dimensional traveler from another world. At will, she is capable of slipping into other worlds and easily slip out with no issues whatsoever. Such an example is the world of Harry Potter, existing under the world’s basic rules with no special powers. This suggestion could be related to Sadie’s otherworldly silver bracelet which she refuses to remove even when she goes to bed.
Tumblr media
Whatever the case, Sadie was given a special ability which is, high Intellect. Very much like, Annabeth Chase. In addition, she’s a fast learner and quick reader which could explain how she was able to pick up Transfiguration very quickly. Of all the animals that she worked with, the owl is her favorite.
Tumblr media
Aside from that, Sadie also shares several trade secrets that she swore to never tell. She learned about Talbott’s tragic childhood, Chiara’s condition, Penny’s deep seeded fear and her own secret being an Animagus cat. While she is registered, she rarely showcases her ability but only to Penny, Rowan and Hagrid. Other than that, there is not much to say. She has a face of a collection of funny and adorable expressions which makes her easy target for being cute than serious. (one I might share in another post)
On a final note, this is what she looks like on Artbreeder.

Thanks for Reading
