shaemond magic school au incoming😏🫣
sneak peek -
infuriating. wholly and utterly infuriating, that shaera velaryon. it seemed like she was so certain that just because that damned hat called ravenclaw six years ago, she was the smartest girl—no, person!—in all of hogwarts.
and she had the absolute gall to come to him for help after spurning him for all these years.
“i don’t know parseltongue,” she said lamely, “and you’re the only one who does in the entire school.”
“and that’s my problem why?”
shaera leered at him through her dark lashes and frowned. “because if you don’t help, professor lannister will suspend you from quidditch for two matches and professor tyrell said he’d revoke your prefect duties for an entire month.”
she claimed she wasn’t a parselmouth like him, and yet she so clearly spoke the language of snakes.

Harry Potter x OnePiece AU
Law and everyone else living in his town were all cursed when he was a 10 yo kid killing almost all of them except for him and his sister. He has traces of black magic in his skin (the white patches), that a lot of people find uncomfortable.
Luffy would beat everyone that say anything bad about it or mock him. For him Torao is just beautiful.

His loud scream was the first thing that Sumi heard that morning. Sumi grumbled a long string of curses to herself before she lifted her head off of the table. Looking around the Great Hall with groggy eyes, Sumi found the source of the disturbance.
Lee Donghyuck.
Sumi was never fond of him. Or at least, she liked to convince herself she wasn’t. Whenever he was with his friends, he was loud and energetic, causing more disturbances in the span of ten minutes than Sumi ever did in her entire lifetime. Arguably, he was one of the most obnoxious people she had ever met. Yet she somehow kept finding herself watching him, noticing little things he did and the little bits and pieces that others might miss.
Under his bubbly personality, Donghyuck was really a gentle soul. When he’s without his friends, Donghyuck actually seemed to be tolerable to Sumi. She liked it when he was quiet and thoughtful and she appreciated how approachable he was to everyone.
Unfortunately for Sumi, today was one of those moments where she couldn’t necessarily appreciate Donghyuck’s presence. His howling screams and loud laugh cut through the Great Hall and greatly disturbed Sumi’s peace and quiet.
Sumi gave a tired look at the energetic brunette before putting her head back on the table. The Great Hall was filled with chatter and the clatter of utensils against plates that morning. All the students were excited for the day since it would be the first quidditch match of the season. Slytherin vs Hufflepuff.
All around the Great Hall, students dressed in black robes were eating happily with their Hogwarts Houses. From across the hall, Slytherins and Gryffindors glared at each other while Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws talked amongst themselves, occasionally waving hello to their friends outside of the house.
“Is she really sleeping?”
“Seems like it,”
“Should we wake her up? All the food will be gone,”
Sumi let out a groan and tried to hide her face further into her arms when she felt someone start to shake her. She lifted her hand and swatted away the person’s hand. Her friends laughed before going back to their food and chatting. Jisung sighed and poked Sumi in the face with his free hand.
“Will you please eat,” he said more than asked.
“I’m not hungry,” Sumi replied, “Let me sleep,” she heard Jisung sigh before he began to eat his food. Sumi exhaled gently before opening her eyes and sitting up.
She was greeted with a bright smiling face and she could already hear his teasing tone before he even opened his mouth.
“Good morning,” Chenle smiled.
Sumi gave him a bored look and picked up a piece of toast and put some eggs on her plate. Chenle and Jisung both glanced at her before they went on eating their breakfast. Occasionally they would slip some more food onto Sumi’s plate without her noticing and she would eat it without realizing.
“Today is the first match of the year,” Jisung said, “Are you nervous?”
Sumi shrugged.
Chenle and Jisung gave her a look, “Sumi, today is the first match of the year. You’re the captain.”
Sumi shrugged again and Chenle and Jisung both let out exasperated sighs. Before the two of them could scold and badger Sumi about being more enthusiastic, Sumi put her utensils down and downed her entire water.
“There’s no way I lose to Lee Donghyuck this year,” Sumi said.
––
By noon time, the whole school seemed to be out in the stands around the Quidditch pitch, it was the first match of the year. The seats might be raised high in the air, but it was still difficult to see what was going on sometimes, so many students had binoculars to get a better view. Chenle sat in the announcer’s box while Jisung and Sumi got ready in the locker rooms.
Sumi was quiet as Jisung went around checking up on the team. She kept staring at the chalkboard with their defensive and offensive plans. A loud snap caused the other Hufflepuffs to turn their attention to Sumi. She had her wand out, pointing straight at offensive plan number 4. The rest of the team seemed to understand and a wide smirk emerged on all of their faces.
A booming cheer rose from the stands as the emerald robes of the Slytherin Quidditch team emerged onto the pitch. An equally loud cheer shook the pitch when the amber robes of the Hufflepuffs appeared.
Madam Hooch was refereeing today and the Hufflepuffs and Slytherins flew towards the ground when she blew her whistle. She stood in the middle of the field waiting for the two teams, her broom in her hand. “Now, I want a nice fair game, all of you,” she said, once they were all gathered around her. “Mount your brooms, please.”
Sumi mounted her broom and gave a dull look at Donghyuck. He returned with a blazing smile. She rolled her eyes at him which only seemed to make him smile bigger.
“Hey, Susu,” Donghyuck said with a teasing smile.
Sumi ignored him.
“If I win, will you go on a date with me?”
Sumi nearly choked on her own spit when she heard his proposal. It was no secret to the school that Donghyuck liked Sumi, but she always had her doubts. She was sure that Donghyuck just liked to joke and tease her. She gave him an incredulous look but he just shrugged. “It was worth asking,” he smiled.
“It seems like you’ve lost a few brain cells, Lee,” Sumi rolled her eyes, “One too many bludgers to the head?”
“And here I thought Hufflepuffs were supposed to be nice,” Jaemin mumbled to Donghyuck.
“And who said that?” Sumi rolled her eyes, some of the other Hufflepuffs snickered and laughed at her snide remarks. Despite her dismissiveness, Sumi didn’t fail to notice the disappointment in Donghyuck’s eyes
Madam Hooch sighed and shook her head as she gave a loud blast on her silver whistle and fifteen brooms rose up straight into the air.
––
Sumi let out a long huff, watching as the air around her fogged up and then disappeared into the cold. Even though they had played their best, Donghyuck was still able to get the snitch before her team. She wasn’t surprised, nor that upset at this point. Donghyuck was one of the best seekers at Hogwarts, his skills were only rivaled by Mark Lee from Gryffindor house.
“Why the long face?” Chenle asked as he sat down with Sumi in the courtyard.
Sumi shrugged. “Just thinking,”
“It’s never a good thing when you do that,” Chenle joked and Sumi shoved him gently. He laughed and leaned back on his hands. “You know, even though Jisung didn’t get the snitch, Hufflepuff only lost by thirty points.”
Sumi nodded but that wasn’t why she was thinking so much. The two of them sat in silence for a bit, the cold hair swirling around their heads. Sumi continued to let out little puffs of air to watch it fog up in front of her. As she was about to do it again, when a familiar brunette appeared across the courtyard.
Donghyuck smiled gently at his friend as they made their way back into the building. Sumi jumped to her feet and Chenle gave her a startled look. Before he could ask her what was wrong, Sumi grabbed her bag and started to hurry off towards Donghyuck.
“Sumi, where are you going?” Chenle called.
“I’m cold! I’ll see you later!” she replied without looking back.
When Sumi got back inside she found Donghyuck walking towards the library with his friend. She quickly rushed over and gently grabbed his robes to stop him. He paused and turned around with a confused expression. Donghyuck’s Ravenclaw friend, Huang Renjun, gave the two of them a look before smirking.
“I’ll leave you two to talk for a moment,” he said before rushing away to the library. Donghyuck turned around to try and get Renjun to stay but his friend was already long gone.
“Um,” Sumi hesitated and Donghyuck turned his gaze back to her. “You won,”
“What?” Donghyuck asked in confusion.
“The match,” Sumi repeated, “You won, so I- ,” Sumi looked away, she regretted even bringing it up to Donghyuck. It was obvious he wasn’t actually being serious when he mentioned it on the pitch, he was just teasing her.
“I owe you a date,” Sumi finally managed to get out.
Donghyuck stared at her for a moment before his eyes widened, “Wait seriously?” Donghyuck grabbed her hand and forced Sumi to look at him. The look in his eyes desperately begged Sumi to tell him that she wasn’t joking. There was so much genuinity in his eyes that Sumi for a moment believed that maybe Donghyuck could have feelings for her.
Sumi nodded.
Donghyuck’s face broke into a bright smile and he let out a small laugh. “Well, then I’ll make sure to bring you on a great one!” he said.
Sumi nodded as Donghyuck said his goodbyes and rushed off to tell Renjun the news. He stopped halfway to Renjun and turned around to wave at Sumi before rushing off again.
––
That night, Sumi was jolted from her sleep when she felt someone shake her awake. She had fallen asleep in the Hufflepuff Common Room while studying for potions. Her books were scattered across the table and a paper stuck to her face when she lifted her head up.
“Hello,”
Sumi immediately recognized the voice and opened her eyes a little wider as Donghyuck pulled her worksheet off her face. She lifted a hand to her cheek where it was before and felt her face go hot at the realization that Donghyuck had just caught her in an embarrassing situation.
Then it hit Sumi…
“How did you get in here?” she exclaimed,
Donghyuck smiled widely, “It took a few tries, trust me. The boys and I have gotten our fair share of vinegar showers.” He remembered vividly the first three years at Hogwarts.
The 00’Liners had learned where the Hufflepuff dorms were in their first year but despite their efforts, they never learned which barrel to tap or the rhythm of the tapping to be able to enter. It was by miracle in their fourth year that Jaemin was able to figure out the passcode inside. Only some time later did Renjun realize that Jaemin had somehow used a morse code rhythm to spell ‘Helga Hufflepuff’.
“What are you doing here?” Sumi asked as she started to clean her things. “If you don’t leave, I’ll have to report you,”
“You won’t do that,” Donghyuck smiled.
“You don’t know that-” Sumi’s words died on her lips when she realized that Donghyuck had started to lean in and trap her between himself and the table. “What are you doing?”
Donghyuck smiled and leaned back, “Our date, let’s go,” he stood up and held a hand out for Sumi to take.
Sumi gave him an incredulous look and shook her head, “It’s midnight, Donghyuck, we can’t go anywhere past curfew–”
“Come on,” Donghyuck chuckled, “Just this once,”
Sumi stared at Donghyuck’s hand before looking up at his face. His eyes were pleading as he waited for her to take his hand. She lifted her hand and it hovered over his hesitating for a moment before she ultimately decided to ignore her fears of getting caught and taking his hand.
Donghyuck pulled her to her feet and the two of them hurried out of the Hufflepuff Common Room. Sneaking through the corridors, Donghyuck took an elaborate path to their date rendezvous. Sumi was keenly aware of how his hand engulfed hers as he led her around the school. Sumi started to recognize the corridors around her as Donghyuck started to lead her up a staircase.
“This is-”
“The Astronomy Tower,” Donghyuck finished her words.
Donghyuck stopped Sumi just before the top of the Astronomy Tower. She gave him a confused expression but Donghyuck ignored it and moved so that he stood behind her. His hand slipped out of hers leaving it cold in the chilly November air.
He placed his hands over her eyes and Sumi quickly reached up to grab his in turn. Donghyuck let out a chuckle and leaned down to speak into her ear.
“Do you trust me?” he asked, his breath tickling her ear.
“No,” Sumi’s voice shook as she answered him.
Donghyuck laughed but started to lead Sumi onto the roof of the Astronomy Tower. Sumi felt the cold air hit her skin and she shivered a bit. Donghyuck stopped somewhere on the tower and Sumi gripped onto his hands tightly.
“Ready?” he asked before removing his hands and revealing a beautiful set up of blankets and candles. There were candles lighting the way towards the center of the tower where Donghyuck had set up some blankets and what looked like a basket of snacks. The sky was lit up with stars and the moon shone brightly in a crescent, smiling down upon the two of them.
“Donghyuck,” Sumi’s voice sounded breathless to herself. “This is beautiful,” she turned and smiled at him.
Donghyuck felt his face go hot and he coughed gently before pointing to the blanket. “I remember you mentioned that you really liked stars during Transfiguration. There’s supposed to be a meteor shower tonight, I heard that we might be able to see it from the castle,”
Sumi walked to the edge of the Astronomy tower and stared out at the forest. Leaning out over the edge a little, Sumi closed her eyes and let the wind brush her hair out of her face. A smile pushed onto her face and she let out a light giggle. There was a giddily feeling in her chest, something about sneaking out and being in her happy place made Sumi feel some kind of euphoria that she wasn’t used to.
She spun around and smiled at Donghyuck. Her smile had his heart fluttering and Donghyuck could hear his heart pounding in his ears. He was sure that his face was bright red but if it was, Sumi made no move to tease him about it.
He walked over to her and leaned against the edge as well. The wind pushed his hair back and forth and as he went to push his hair out of his eyes, Sumi’s hand reached over and moved it for him. His eyes widened when he felt her delicate fingers graze against his forehead.
“I think I like you,” Sumi whispered.
“What?” Donghyuck leaned back in surprise.
“I-” It sunk in what Sumi had said, “Oh my god! Wait-”
“What did you just say?” Donghyuck panicked as well.
“Nothing! I didn’t say anything!” Sumi started to walk away from Donghyuck but was quickly spun back around. She crashed into his chest and felt Donghyuck’s arm holding her tightly to him. Sumi gripped onto his shirt and could feel Donghyuck’s heart going crazy underneath her hand.
“I like you too,” his voice was barely over a whisper.
A jolt went through Sumi’s body and she froze before pushing off of Donghyuck. He stared down at her and Sumi could still feel his heart beating a mile a minute. Looking into his eyes though, Sumi could tell that this confession was different than all the other times. The usually joking smile from his past confessions had been completely replaced by a desperation and genuinity that reminded Sumi why she even agreed to go on a date with him in the first place.
Carefully, Sumi stood a bit taller on her toes, tilting her head until her lips gently met his. She felt him freeze under her touch for just a moment. Then as she started to lean away, Sumi felt Donghyuck’s lips kiss her back. Before Sumi could do anything, Donghyuck moved back, his eyes big and puppy-like.
“I really like you, Sumi,” Donghyuck said again, “Will you please be my girlfriend?”
Sumi’s mouth opened and closed, fighting to find the right words to say to him. It was obvious to her by the way her heart clenched tightly at his words. She was certain of it now. She had completely fallen for Lee Donghyuck.

J: Why do they have to travel in Packs? And how are you suppposed to get one their own to ask them?
*staring at Rapunzel and her group of friends, getting nervous and running away from the scene*
H: You know that if you want to invite Rapunzel you have to open your mouth and let the words come out, right?
J: It's not that easy Hiccup and you can't tell me anything, you haven't been able to invite Merida either.
H: Blimey Jack, If you can't get a date, Who can?"

Harry Potter: The Inclusive Version
With the recent news that JK Rowling is taking things a step further and using new funds from our nostalgia trip to fund Anti-Trans bills, I decided to say a giant fuck you to that and reclaim my childhood as my own. I have started writing out a new version of the Harry Potter Universe in more Modern day times and things we all wanted but JK Rowling deprived us of. This AU, New Age Harry Potter universe is for all writers, artists, and cosplayers to use who still want to be apart of the Harry Potter world we all love but feel they can't support JK Rowling's version anymore.
I give you all a new version to support and put your love into while still holding onto the nostalgia you feel for the Wizarding World. I give you Harry Potter: The Inclusive Version.

The School - Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry is still a castle but has fewer death traps and tricky things that cause you to miss class (Like phantom steps or doorways that lead to walls cause who thought that was a good idea?). For those that still like to get up to mischief, don’t worry there are still plenty of secret corridors behind well-hidden buttons or levers or things that require a particular rhyme to open. The tunnels behind them lead all over, from different areas of the school to the Forbidden Forest, all the way to Hogsmeade. There are even rumors of one that disappears and reappears at the same time a specific room does.

How Different Holidays Work - There are a vast array of magical students attending Hogwarts and not all of them share the same religions or subsequent holiday traditions due to that fact, but the Hogwarts staff are very accepting and accommodating of all the students they care for and have ways of making sure they get to spend the holidays with their families accordingly.
3 days before Hanukkah in the given year any students who practice Judaism and wish to spend Hanukkah with their families will be given a sign-up sheet with the option to sign up to stay at school or leave their names off the list and be planned to be on the train ride to Platform 9 ¾ to meet their families. They will spend their 8 days with their families and then have two more nights to say goodbyes and goof off before getting on the train back to Hogwarts.
As for those who celebrate Eid al-Fitr and Eid al-Adha, the staff keeps track of when those holidays are coming and during Eid al-Fitr, they make sure the house elves who work the kitchens are aware of whose fasting so food isn’t sent their way and when it comes times for salat, there is an emptied out hall they keep just for Muslim students to pray in when they want or need to. 3 days before Eid al-Adha, teachers offer another signup sheet to either stay at school or students who wish to visit their families to celebrate with them and be with them during that time will be free to take the train back to Platform 9 ¾ to be with their families for a week. After the week ends, they will return back to school and continue their classes.
For those who celebrate Christmas, a signup sheet is passed around on December 21st to see who wants to stay at school, and those who do not sign up get to return home to their families for the holiday and spend Christmas Eve and Day through to New Years with their families and then the day after New Years return to Hogwarts to continue classes.
For those that celebrate Kwanzaa, another signup sheet goes around just after the Christmas kids have left on December 23rd, and those who decided to get to return home to spend Kwanzaa with their families before returning to school on January 3rd just after the Christmas kids get back as well to resume classes.
Magic Traditions - The Goblet of Fire was a tradition for a long time but luckily that stayed banned because it’s deadly and who would pin a bunch of school children in a fucking death match? But Quidditch is much less deadly, though still dangerous it’s still a beloved sport of the Wizarding World. Another beloved tradition that’s still around is the Sorting Ceremony but the school’s much less divided nowadays. The teachers have long since realized that if siblings who only know each other get put in different houses it may cause a very bad rift between them, especially for ones who are younger siblings. So they allow people to mingle between tables and as long as you have permission from a member belonging to the house, you’re allowed to be in another house's common room. They are however magical precautions against people giving away separate house passwords to each other or for anyone who doesn’t have a house's permission to sneak into another house's common room. Professor Flitwick is quite good with charms y’know?
The Potter Prophecy - Lily and James Potter died at the hands of Lord Voldemort and Lily dying to protect her child gave him the protection that lasted his whole life. But as for being left on the Dursley’s doorstep by a morally-grey man who wanted to raise that child for slaughter? Uh-uh, no, not in my good magical household. You see in this life there were better resources and better options. In other words, the person who caught up to Sirius Black wasn’t a goddamned moron and checked his wand to see what spell was cast last and saw that he in fact did not just blow up a man. On top of that Professor Albus Dumbledore decided to have a heart and tell them that Sirius Black wasn’t the Potters' secret keeper and that it was in fact, Pettigrew. Long story short, Sirius Black never went to Azkaban and since he was Harry’s Godfather he had first dibs on adopting Harry. So instead of being raised in the abusive Dursley house, Harry was raised by his two gay Uncles, Sirius and Remus, and grew up feeling loved and knowing who and what he was. Of course, the kid wasn’t raised to have an ego or be anything but polite yet sarcastic, much like Remus, but he knew from a certain age why people always stared at him and were always giddy to meet him.
New Age Wands - Wands aren’t what they used to be either. Ollivander was the first wandmaker to start pioneering a new way of making wands more concealable to muggles when people started finding ways to charm technology into working around and with magic. You see a guy pulling out a long spindly stick as a reflex when he gets angry kinda makes people start to question things a little when he acts like it’s a weapon of mass destruction and his cousin acts like that stick is a knife pointed at his throat. So mixing wands into things like umbrellas, and selfie sticks, heck they even sell wands that flip out like a switchblade or collapse into a handle like pens. Of course, finding the right type of wand is done the old-fashioned way of which wand chooses you, so you find the right wand in the normal form but if you want it to be concealable Ollivander has no problem making it that way for a little extra charge.

So there you have it. The first post to the new Harry Potter. I'll finish up the Character stuff I have and post it later. Also, I deeply apologize if any of the stuff about other holidays is off, particularly the Muslim holidays. I don't know about other holiday traditions beside Hanukkah really and as much as I tried to do the best research I could into the topics of the other holidays to get the information right there wasn't a lot of good info about how Eid is celebrated. Feel free to correct me and I will make changes to it. I appreciate any feedback.

Creatures of the Forbidden Forest: Pilot
The camera pans over the dense foliage of the Forbidden Forest, as Hagrid, the Keeper of Keys and Grounds at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, strides confidently forward. His beard and hair are wild and unkempt, and he carries a large crossbow over his shoulder.
"Welcome to the Forbidden Forest," Hagrid says, grinning broadly at the camera. "This is where all the most dangerous and magical creatures live, so you've got to be careful where you step."
As Hagrid moves deeper into the forest, the camera captures glimpses of glittering eyes and rustling leaves, hinting at the hidden dangers that lurk within. But Hagrid is undeterred, and he continues his enthusiastic introduction.
"Now, over here we've got some centaurs," he says, pointing to a group of majestic creatures standing in a clearing. "They're a bit touchy, so we've got to be respectful. And if we're lucky, we might even spot a unicorn or two."
As the camera follows Hagrid deeper into the forest, the tension mounts, and the viewer can sense the danger lurking just beyond the trees. But Hagrid remains unflappable, regaling the audience with tales of his adventures with dragons and giant spiders.
Suddenly, there's a rustling in the bushes, and Hagrid's eyes light up with excitement.
"Ah, here we go," he says, pulling out his crossbow. "This is a rare one - a Niffler. They love shiny objects, so watch your pockets."
The camera captures a glimpse of a small, furry creature darting through the underbrush, and Hagrid gives chase, his boots thudding against the forest floor.
"Come on, you little rascal," he calls, his breath coming in short bursts. "I've got a treat for you."
The scene ends with Hagrid emerging from the forest, cradling the small, wriggling Niffler in his arms.
"See, wasn't that amazing?" he says, grinning at the camera. "There's nothing like a bit of danger to get the blood pumping. And the best part is, we get to call this place home."

ok but imagine this:
seventh year kaz brekker, most notorious slytherin at hogwarts, mainly for the infamous rumors that he broke into a gringotts vault during his fifth year to steal some top secret items. the rumors say he was put on trial but no one could ever prove he did it. while it’s said that the boy has no one he calls a friend, he’s always surrounded by a specific group of people.
among them is jesper fahey, a popular keeper for the slytherin quidditch team who never turns down a bet and has a particular love for wizarding chess and cards. he likes to wear colorful muggle clothes to class, to many professors’ dismay, and when he does have his robes on, his tie is never properly done. nobody has the sense to say anything about it because of how good he looks in both.
inej ghafa, gryffindor and star seeker of the quidditch team—everyone questions her choice of friends, especially brekker and fahey, but no one dares to say anything to her face. the sixth year is at the top of her class, with an especially ruthless talent for defense against the dark arts. rumor has it she wants to become an auror.
her best friend, gryffindor nina zenik, is quite popular, known for being a metamorphmagus. the large, loud girl can be seen with waffles at her table at any time of the day, wearing bright red and gold and entertaining first-years by changing the color of her hair or turning into animals during dinner. she decorates posters and cheers the loudest for both her friends inej and jesper at their quidditch games, even when they’re playing each other.
by her side, covered in glitter from said posters, is always the large, blonde hufflepuff matthias helvar, who’s only ever seen smiling around his girlfriend. he’s a transfer student from durmstrang and has a reputation for being one of the strictest prefects hufflepuff has ever seen. what most don’t know is that he likes to tell stories to nervous first-years when they can’t fall asleep, and offers to help with their homework.
and most questionable of all is wylan van eck, a third-year muggleborn who was known to struggle with his magic, rumored to be have been accepted into hogwarts with the help of his rich father. while many looked down on and talked badly about the red-haired ravenclaw during his first year, they eventually shut up after wylan was moved up three years in potions, where he met his lab partner jesper fahey and they became legends after blowing up some kind of potion in professor snape’s face. it cost them 200 house points each and a month of detention.
the students at hogwarts like to call the unlikely group of friends “the crows”, after the head of brekker’s cane that he uses to limp around school. while they don’t like to get too close to the group, stories are always circulating about the group’s endeavors. slytherins like to whisper about the fact that amongst the items brekker stole out of the gringotts vault, there was supposedly a very valuable painting worth a lot of galleons. others like to talk about the time matthias helvar bought nina zenik 100 chocolate frogs and charmed them to form hearts all day on their one year anniversary. gryffindors especially liked to tell the tale of inej ghafa’s legendary game, where she almost fell off her broom before she caught the snitch during a rainy match against the slytherins, moments before the whistle was blown. and a popular hogwarts favorite was the legend of how jesper fahey and wylan van eck began dating, a funny story involving a potions lesson on amortentia that wylan was late to. apparently he had burst into the classroom, apologizing and explaining to professor snape that he was finishing an exam when he turned to his lab partner, all flushed from running, and asked, “jesper, why does the entire room smell like butterbeer and your cologne?”
they got another two weeks of detention that day for an “unnecessary display of public affection”, jesper himself liked to tell the first years who giggled as they listened. he always made sure to add that it had been totally worth it.

With her face still in his hand, he squeezed gently, “Who the fuck do you belong to, precious?” “I belong to you,” she whimpered “That’s a good girl.” - After a falling out with Ron, Hermione grows close with Draco who causes her to question everything in her life. hi!! I'm asking this here because I was inspired by The Auction by Lovesbitca8 (it is actually one of my favorite things I've ever read) to write fanfic about a plus size OC from America who's talented with non-verbal and wandless magic who comes into the picture hunting horcruxes, teaming up with the trio right after they get the locket in the ministry...
Anyway, major love interest is Tom Hiddleston playing a Lucious Malfoy's younger half brother. He buys her at the auction and so on and so forth. I had the idea because I'm obsessed with the idea of Tom Hiddleston (playing) as a dark wizard. Also plus size representation because that's hard to come by obvi. I'd like to write and post it and it'd be nice if I knew there was any interest.

So I wrote this last night while wondering if things could have turned out differently if James Potters parents had survived. It evolved in a way I didn't expect (Euphemia Potter, where have you been hiding?) It's not finished either, but here is what I have so far...
They lived
When Fleamont Potter first felt the stirrings of pain, deep in his chest-he ignored it. He was no healer, and it was to be expected in his age after all. He ignored it when he felt it flutter through his spine, passed it off as a working hazard when he felt a pang in his knees. (He shouldn’t have been fiddling with that old cauldron anyways).
But when his wife said to him, almost idly at the fireside-
“Will you remind me to owl Healer Robbins in the morning? I had a strange pain in my shoulder earlier, and it doesn’t seem to have gone away just yet.”
Fleamont looked at his wife, her hands quick and nimble as they laced glimmering threads through soft fabric. He looked at his wife, and saw his life’s love before him. He saw the dark eyes that had drawn him to her, the sharp wit of her tongue and the power and grace he knew not. He saw beyond her greying hair and the fine lines that told stories of their joy, and saw the life they had built. The garden they had cultivated, the business that had flourished beneath their feet, the son who had his mothers eyes as well as her spirit, her spark, her joy.
Fleamont looked at his wife, his partner and knew that the world would be just that dimmer without her.
“Actually dear, I think we should owl them tonight.”
Their young son, his dark head of hair ducking under the mantle as he arrived, joined them at St. Mungos, his glowing wife at his side, her fingers weaving knots into her robes. James paled as he watched the Healers gather around the ones who had given him life, and he rushed to call his brother to his side, their dark heads bowed together as they sat in the crowded little waiting room.
So Fleamont saved his wife, but he died that Thursday afternoon with his little family gathered at his bedside, his last act of love surviving without him.
Lily Potter may have danced with her new father-in-law at her wedding, his beaming smile as bright as the candles flickering around them but it was to her husband's mother, alone, that she passed her newborn baby to.
Harry Fleamont Potter felt a fitting tribute, and James was sure he wasn’t imagining the tears sparkling in his mothers eyes.
Harry learned to walk through his grandmother's begonias, the ones that, in another life he may have walked towards his namesake. Or in another life, he would not know existed at all.
When the war which had brewed around them throughout their adolescence came knocking at their door, James cloistered his young family into Godric's Hollow, leaving his mother alone at the Manor where he had frolicked and grown and on one fine summer's day wed his now targeted wife.
James did not apologise to his mother as he kissed her goodbye. He didn't need to.
Her second son, the one whose hair was as Black as his name, as black as the scorch mark his birth mother had left in his wake, loped through the wards every few days. Neither of them dared voice the hope, that courageous flighty thing that had found a home within their chests as they sipped their tea, watching sunsets that should have been savoured.
But they did dare to hope, they dared to trust. And James Potter, who may have his mothers eyes and her spirit, also had his fathers unwavering loyalty. He trusted the wrong man.
(and their protection fell, shocks of green light rang through the air, and a boy who had found love and joy in the presence of his first friend, found his worst nightmare come to life instead as he rushed through the air on a motorbike he would soon hand away).
And the dog chased the rat, and the rat knew how to disappear when all the dog knew how to do was grieve.
Fleamont’s last act of devotion didn’t change the fact that Euphemia woke up on November 1st with an intrinsic feeling of dread. When she opened the door she wasn’t faced with a scarred orphan as a shrieking Petunia Dursley was three counties over, but with the weary and regretful eyes of the men in red robes who had come to symbolise loss in their world.
Euphemia managed to hold it together, her head held high until they used the words ‘Death Eater’ and ‘Sirius Black’ in the same sentence. Only then did she start to laugh, that horrible haunting laugh that only Blacks could. For Euphemia may have looked like her mother who had grown up across the world, but she was still a Black.
The two men, who had expected a feeble old woman and had gotten a glimpse of true Black madness did not think to question her when she demanded an escort to the Ministry. For her dear, kind son and his brave and bright wife would have to wait, their bodies still and cool as they would be for eternity, for it was her second son who needed her now. Her second son who sat in a stone cell and had cried himself to sleep.
For all that Remus-scarred, sweet, lonely and heartbroken-thought it was Sirius still, Euphemia knew her son. She knew he couldn’t be responsible for this. She also knew the look in a boy’s eyes when envy and greed had made its way deep into his heart, and she had seen it on Peter Pettigrew’s face one too many times to be as trusting as her dearly departed son.
With the power of her husband's name and his wealth she bullied an unsuspecting Barty Crouch into a trial the very next day, where a relieved Remus sat beside her, shaking while she was still. Later Sirius had wept apologies into her cloak, his regret tangible and as dark as his hatred for the man he had once called a brother.
Sirius did not spend his 22nd birthday as he had planned, holed up with three Potters, being plied with cake and butterbeer, but he spent it screaming at the man he had once called a leader, at the man whose heart may have been heavy with regret, but whose hands still meddled in places he ought not to touch.
The day after they gathered in Godric’s Hollow and watched a pair of twin coffins lowered into the fresh earth.
(While miles away, Harry cried for his mother and wondered why this woman who did not resemble anyone he knew had hands as sharp as her beady eyes).
Euphemia had saved her son from twelve years in Azkaban, but that did not mean she was going to leave the precious boy that had somehow survived, her husband's namesake, with a woman who had hated her own sister nearly as much as she had once loved her.
Euphemia hadn’t expected Dumbledore to interfere.
Dumbledore had expected Euphemia to acquiesce once he had explained with words like blood protection, and love sickly sweet on his tongue.
But she did not.
Perhaps, in another world-one where Fleamont survived the night that his dear wife did, this would have played out differently. Quieter perhaps.
But Euphemia was different from Monty. She had grown up having to hold her head up, high, above the snickers and the stares and the comments. She had grown up between two worlds; not white enough, not dark enough. Having to make space for herself in a world that did not know what to do with her.
When she first visited her family in India it wasn’t the overwhelming feeling of joy, she had expected, but rather a deep, dark loss in her soul. A wanting, a longing, a missing she would never truly understand. The colours were just as vivid, the smells just as enchanting, the sounds, the streets filled with life. But Mia had grown up across the world, where she’d had to learn to pronounce her r’s just so, how to preen, and dress and and hide so much of herself away that she’d never really found it again. Mia had grown up with a mother who was just as much a British citizen as everyone else around them, but different in a way they would never understand.
(It was only when she met a man with eyes as deep as the ocean, and a smile that made her feel like she could soar did she feel she was coming out of the seams. Bit by painstaking bit).
So yes, Monty, with his lineage and his old money and his class wouldn’t have dared, his fight would have taken place quietly, behind the scenes, where there was no fuss, no ruckus.
But Monty wasn’t here anymore, and Mia had spent her life being quiet.
So she raged, and stormed and threw herself into a battle with the most powerful man in Wizarding Britain. She argued her way through the courts, through countless politicians, secretaries and bureaucrats who she had spent her life kowtowing to when she was nothing but an immigrant's daughter with no power they could understand.
And she won.
The snow had just begun to stick, and the lights were up in the neighbors windows when her grandson finally came home to her, with a trembling lip and a scarred forehead.
Euphemia Potter held him close - his hair smelt just like James had, when he was little, when her entire world could fit in her arms-and then passed him to her other son. The one who hadn’t been born from her, but who she loved just the same.
They’d both had something taken from them, something ripped away with a cold curse and a flash of light, and she knew that only they could understand each other now. So Mia stayed in her opulent and empty house, and Sirius settled in the South Wing at the room that had always been his, his godson slumbering safely in his arms.
That first Christmas was as dark as the words carved into stone back in Godric's Hollow. Two men who had to learn to trust each other again and a woman who many had expected to break by now. Only Harry’s laugh, his smile, his sparkling eyes could light up their bleak and unforgiving day.
So Harry forgot the mean, cold woman who stared at him like something she would rather forget, and spent the spring with his grandmother as she planted flowers, her fingers quick and nimble as they had always been. He spent it with his godfathers-both of them-while one suffered each month as he always had, but whose love for Harry never wavered, and the other finally grew up.
For in this world Sirius Black did not wile away his years counting his regrets as he counted the bars on his cells. In this world he strategised, he built battle plans with the same fervour and determination he might have used to sliver between those bars as a shaggy, black dog. He focused on wiping out the forces that had taken so much of the light from their world.
But he did not do this alone. For in losing one brother, he had gained another back.
Regulus Black did not go to die in the cave that dark day in October of 1979. He would still be brave, and fierce, and full of righteous anger, but he did not die alone and afraid. Regulus Black had been in St. Mungos that summer, regretfully rejecting his prized and hard worked offer of a place as a Healer.
Regulus Black had been there. He had seen his brother-the one who he missed as much as Petunia Evans missed her own sister-pale and weary with grief. He had seen him stumble in the corridor from Fleamont Potters room, the loss deeply etched in his face.
Grief is the price we pay for love.
Regulus had watched his brother, and wondered if perhap there were things worth living for-as much as they were worth dying for.
So despite what his mother, and the Dark Lord, and about every other Black relative wanted him to do-A Healer? How plebian. Regulus Black did what he had always yearned to, and was brave. He tore the rejection letter from the secretaries fist, and asked, with a weak attempt at his brothers bravado;
“What day do I start?”
So Regulus had taken a different path, a path that was still hard-for the road to hell was still paved with good intentions.
Regulus stood with his head held high above the looks and snide comments-from both his Death Eater cohorts and his fellow trainees. But the Dark Lord could not touch him, could not stray him from this path, for the vow that was taken on his first day of orientation had sworn him to the Healing service, and even Tom Riddle knew some vows could not be broken.
Regulus Black had taken a different path (though the knowledge of the Horcrux and the unrelenting question of what/when/how still lingered) and was finishing up his rotation in the children’s ward when his long lost brother rushed in, a feverish child in his arms, and panic wreaking havoc in his young face.
“Please, I don’t know what’s wrong-I-I, he wouldn’t eat, and now he’s warm, too warm, and I-”
“Hand him to me.”
And Sirius had passed over the child he thought of as a son to a man he didn’t recognise and saw a boy he had once known.
“I-Reggie-?”
But Regulus had always been good at his job. Even the other trainees, who glowered at him through the corridors as they once had in Hogwarts could not deny this. Regulus saw the brother whose approval he had always craved, but he did not think of it now. Regulus only looked at the child who lay shivering before him, and set to work.
Dragon Pox may have taken Fleamont Potter, but Regulus Black’s quick mind and steady hands ensured that his namesake did not follow in this regard. Sirius had cried tears of relief, and Remus had shaken Regulus’ hand so hard it felt bruised.
By now Harry had spent as much time without his parents as he had with them, and his loss would have taken his family to a place they could not return
Once Harry had settled, Mia Potter at his bedside and Remus Lupin fetching the blanket that Harry reached for every night, did the two brothers talk.
They spoke of nothing that had lingered deep in their minds, and their hearts in the years since the older one had departed.
“A Healer, huh?” Sirius Black tried to hide his surprise.
Regulus bit back the 'You once told me I was good at Healing spells' and managed a smile. "Yes, coming on four years now.”
Regulus felt young in his brother's presence (even if they were both the same height now).
“That’s… really great.” Sirius smiled, looking close to proud.
“That's James son, isn't it?” Regulus asked, and watched the darkness flicker in his brothers eyes again.
“You can tell by the hair, huh?”
Really he could tell by the way Sirius looked at the boy-the same way he had always looked at James-but he smiled at his brother's attempt at humor anyways.
When the little family left two days later, a chagrined Sirius mumbled something out that was close to an invitation-coffee? Do you drink coffee? As he left St. Mungos, his beloved godson giggling in his arms.
Regulus watched and wondered if perhaps he had gotten his brother back. If his brother would walk away from him again.
(He would, once he found out about the paradoxical life his brother led, a Healer who moonlights as a Death Eater. The life of one who fixes scars and curses he recognises, the life of one who is vowed to both worlds even as they threaten to pull him apart at the seams).
But this time he would come back. And not on accident, stumbling in with a sick child, but with a determination for history not to repeat itself.
For this Sirius Black knew about the transformative power of second chances.
Harry Potter grew up at his grandmother's elbow, learning about his culture, his heritage. What was left of it. Some had been lost to time, others to the journey made from Delhi to here. The rest to the pressure of a world who didn’t want girls with dark skin and a determined glint in her eye.
But in this world Harry knew who he was. Where he had come from. What had been lost so he could live. And oh, did he live.
He lived in the same trees and lakes his own father had made his kingdom at his age, he lived in the books his Moony shared with him-Moony, who watched as identical green eyes skimmed over the same pages he had seen a flame-haired girl devour. He lived in the adventures, the wild reckless stories and pursuits of his Padfoot. He lived in his grandmother's kitchen, watching her bake roti in between English cakes of lemon drizzle and his favourite treacle tart.
Harry lived, and he knew what it was to be loved.
(After all, a boy must live so he can learn to die.
And even now, even here, Harry still had to be the boy who learned to walk to his death).
