saw some ppl on tiktok getting SO PRESSED about polycules and relationships other than hualian and that was kind of funny so i needed to make and explain my relationship chart

i’d love to explain to them (as a polyam person myself >:3) that love is not a limited commodity and hua cheng falling for yin yu doesn’t mean he suddenly doesn’t care about xie lian at all but i fear that would be lost on them HAHA

also if you… don’t wanna see that kinda stuff… just don’t look at it… don’t hate on people who do… life would be easier for everyone… but moving on

i debated splitting yin yu x he xuan x hua cheng from the moon quartet then decided against it because it was getting waaaay too chaotic

rip to quan yizhen, either he has no manhua art or i couldn’t find it (i haven’t read the manhua yet ffjhshd)

uhhh i got a lot of inspo abt huayin from @devotedbutterfly’s tiktoks and stuff (sorry for going thru like all of ur stuff and generally being a demon on ur tiktok and tumblr ahsjdj) and xuanyin/blackmoon stuff from @ghooostbaby so. yes their stuff is very cool :]

yes, i had to break the trio and quartet into different categories

mulian: mu qing always admired xie lian for his self-assuredness, strength, and also beauty. he was a bit jealous of him for a long time, but they were able to talk about it and they both forgave each other for everything that happened in the part. he's had a crush on him since the beginning, but was bad at showing it. xie lian thought mu qing was pretty and a very interesting person; when he got older, he regretted not spending more time getting to know him, so he makes up for it later on in life! he loves when mu qing is softer and shy and more vulnerable than he is usually, and loves how mu qing is a good listener and is pretty emotionally intelligent.

fengqing: well. you get the idea

fenglian: feng xin was always loyal, the first person to have fallen in love with xie lian, and dianxia’s first kiss. he would’ve never left xie lian if xie lian hadn’t told him to. he respected xie lian a lot. xie lian loved how much feng xin cared, and felt immensely guilty about being unable to give him anything more. when they reunite, he showers feng xin with gifts and words of affirmation (he got better at expressing his emotions) and they spend a lot of time together

xianle quartet

all the other ones stay the same, so i’ll just explain the two new ones

huaqing: they were once stuck together and had to talk just out of boredom. they bickered a little but the more they talked the more they realized that there was more to the other. mu qing feels genuinely bad about what he did to hua cheng. he has a hard time apologizing but he tried his best to express his remorse, and hua cheng was pretty shocked (previously thought mu qing was a bit of an asshole) and, since mu qing was being sincere, decided to accept his apology. they hit some rough patches now and then, but xie lian and feng xin help them through it. they realized they’re pretty similar, and team up to stir up trouble with people they don’t like sometimes!

huaxin: feng xin was jealous of hua cheng because he was the one who won xie lian’s heart after 800 years and was really happy when he found out that xie lian liked him too. he admires that hua cheng was strong enough to help xie lian so many times. he also likes that hua cheng is a little cocky sometimes (read: very often), and finds hua cheng very good looking. hua cheng was jealous of feng xin for being the first person to be that close to xie lian, but appreciates how loyal he was throughout everything that happened and finds him pretty cool. he likes the way feng xin curses a lot when he’s pissed (finds it endearing)

huayin

ONE OF MY PERSONAL FAVES!!!

yin yu fell first, because hua cheng was so fascinatingly determined and also like the prettiest person he’s ever met. he was intimidating, but could be quite kind, as he was to yin yu when they broke past the employee/employer relationship and became closer

hua cheng began to notice the way yin yu came off as so meek and unnoticeable, but had a kind of poised anger and strength beneath all of that. he trusted yin yu with a lot of more important tasks, paid him well, and considered him as more of a right hand man or partner in crime than a henchman, then eventually as just a partner

e’ming also likes yin yu, and trusts him to take care of it

hua cheng finds it endearing when yin yu gets protective of him (both of them know hua cheng is perfectly capable, but hua cheng finds it sweet regardless)

yin yu cheered hua cheng on a lot with xie lian and patiently listened to everything hua cheng had to say about him

huayinlian/hualianyu

ANOTHER PERSONAL FAVE

ppl keep being like “oh but hua cheng would never cheat on xie lian” HOW IS THAT CHEATING! GOOD LORD! HUA CHENG STILL LOVES XIE LIAN, BUT HAS ALSO DEVELOPED FEELINGS FOR THE PERSON HE SPENT THE MOST AMOUNT OF TIME WITH

yin yu fell for xie lian because he heard about him all the time. how could you spend so much time hearing about how wonderful, kind, gracious, and amazing someone is without catching feelings a little? additionally, hua cheng allowed yin yu to visit xie lian’s temple and leave offerings, trusting him to be genuine in his actions. yin yu saw some of the paintings and sculptures of xie lian and found him beautiful. he knows a lot about xie lian's life, and truly wants him to find peace and happiness

xie lian loves how devoted yin yu was to hua cheng and how much he helped him. he knows those years were hard for hua cheng, and he’s glad that he had a companion (contrary to what people say about “cheating”, xie lian is incredibly happy that hua cheng managed to find love while he was waiting). i know yin yu is canonically “plain”, but xie lian loves him and thinks he’s very handsome :) he gives him a lot of compliments and words of affirmation

blackmoon (yinxuan)

taking a moment to appreciate that very awesome ship name

yin yu thought he xuan was terrifying and intense, only to discover that. he’s just a guy (/pos). but he does have a lot going on! he has urges and a complex history and emotions he doesn’t show to a lot of people and plans within plans and is generally such an interesting person with so many layers to him. beneath a lot of those layers is a guy who’s kind and smart and would’ve stayed kind and smart if his life wasn’t utterly ruined

he xuan initially thought yin yu was just kind of pathetic, but learned more about him and started to like him more. he finds his passion really attractive, loves how genuinely sweet, kind, and gentle he is as well as how harsh, cruel, and unrelenting he can be. he treats he xuan well and makes him feel human and real and knows when to leave him alone and knows when he wants attention and cooks for him and-

they feel seen around each other, having experienced similar things (such as having their destiny “stolen” in different ways though) and have experienced suffering in such a firsthand way. they’re ready to just chill together now :)

moon quartet (hua cheng, xie lian, he xuan, and yin yu)

xie lian finds he xuan cool, doesn’t have too many thoughts about him. he xuan thinks xie lian is cute and also mildly terrifying (i’m definitely editing this later on, i just don’t have a lot of thoughts about them yet)

hua cheng and he xuan have been close for a long time, helping each other out with ghost king business. hua cheng let he xuan relax and chill at ghost city when he needed to, and he xuan kept a close eye on the heavenly capital, so they met often and bonded. they’re both motivated by something and are incredibly passionate about that thing, so they mutually admire the other’s drive and courage

i have the least for them so far, but i just think they’d be sweet together :] they’d all help each other heal and be able to talk to each other. they’d love each other a lot and take care of one another when they need it and be there when someone needs someone :3 idk they’re so traumatized and deserve to recover from that i’ll form more thoughts i swear

ANYWAYS. that’s it for now i’m def gonna write stuff for all of these ships :0 they’re all very special to me 💖 i might add them to my 30 day fluff challenge :3 cuz they all deserve some nice fluff! Hs understands how it feels to be. Not treated very good, he likely wasnt the most respected in alchemax so it's not uncommon for the two of you to have vent sessions where you both let it all out

You ask him about his journey to becoming a scientist and not so subtly ask for advice on how to get into the field; and touching onto the whole human interaction thing, hes more than willing to talk your ear off about his entire career history

On the chance you dont want to do physics stuff, and you wanna do another branch of science he's all ears on listening to you ramble, may even lend a hand in getting you to where you need to be career wise

Jason Carver was misunderstood?

Is he a bad person? or he had good intentions behind his behavior?

All the underlined parts have links to other blogs and gifs that are related to the things I'm saying.

I've heard people saying that Jason Carver was a good person and he was only misunderstood because of the sequence of events in the show.

I kinda see where they came up with that, because of Chrissy's death and everything. But I have good reasons to doubt it. The series show us that he's a very popular character, good at public speaking and giving a speech, and everyone seems to like him except for Eddie and the rest of Hellfire. I wasn't for no reason, though. I have a post that partly explains why Eddie doesn't like Jason or the basketball team, and yes, there's a very plausible reason.

I'm not a Jason hater. I don't think he's a straight bad person, but I don't think he's a good person either. From what I saw in the show, Jason is a upper-middle-class guy, have popularity inside school, have a popular girlfriend and popular friends, gives interviews in the school newspapers,

And overall is not judged by anything in his life. Everybody likes him because he's cool, he's nice to everyone, and that situation with Eddie is just because Eddie is a troublemaker, right? No, not really. Is implied in the show that they hate eachother from more than just that interaction. Briefly, because I want to change the subject soon and I've already talked a little about it, Jason would already hate Eddie because of his looks and rumors about him around school. Eddie hates that people judge him like this before even trying to talk to him first, and Jason is one of those people. But, as I said in the other post, Eddie thinks "If you can not beat them, join them". If people hate him because of their judgement, then he's going to do exact what they expect of him. He has more reasons to do that, for exemple to protect himself of agressions because people would think he's dangerous, but this post is not about Eddie so let's go back to the subject.

Jason has literally an almost-perfect life (Which is another reason of why he hates Eddie. The privileged never try to understand the marginalized. When you have a perfect life, you don't care about the minority or the outcasts and everything, because you are not suffering with it). Everybody likes him and he's a very standard guy, so he has no complains at all. He likes to be liked. He likes to be popular. He likes to have a nice, pretty girlfriend but not because he loves her — He doesn't hate her either, Jason isn't a douchebag, but I'm pretty sure that he likes the statuses more than he likes her. He must like her as a person but he is not romantically in love, same thing with Chrissy. (Pretty similar to Apple White and Daring from that cartoon we watched as kids some years ago lol) — Chrissy and Jason aren't intimate enough to talk about their problems with each other. Jason actually doesn't even have big problems in his perfect life, but Chrissy does. And when it's something so obvious that even the town freak can figure it out in seconds, I wonder how much Chrissy acts when she's around Jason. Her mother probably supports her relationship with him because of the good view people will have of Chrissy, and you know how her mother is; psychological pressure, eating disorders, keeping up appearances.

This gifset explains for itself, but even being so obvious people still don't understand and has that confusion/misinterpretation of the characters.

That's a truth that Chrissy+Jason pro ppl don't understand— Chrissy acts when she's around him. For example in that scene during the basketball team/cheer practice, when he turns the public attention to his romance with Chrissy (to Chrissy herself actually) ((showing even more about how he appreciates their status as the school's power couple)) again, not that he hates Chrissy, because he doesn't. He just don't LOVE her as a boyfriend should love. It's just the status.

Grace Van Dien said that Chrissy was an introvert— do you guys think that introverts like that public attention? Like those looks from the other students? She's literally trained by her mother to act! That performative smile of hers in the cheer practice don't look even a little bit with her true smile or her laughter. She's never herself in front of everyone, not even in front of Jason, but Eddie could have a small peak of it (and the exact same thing happened to Eddie, but with the roles reversed).

And also, Jason was already a sick person before Chrissy's death. What happened was just a trigger for him to get violent — he's had these urges before and even if Chrissy didn't died he could had freak out over anything else bad that happened in his life. His violent impulses towards Eddie and Hellfire weren't because of Chrissy (yes, her death has something to do with it, but it's not the only reason, at least not the most important one) he manages to convince everyone to go on a witch hunt with Eddie using his speech skills. He took advantage of the satanic panic, which he already believed (alienated by the media and blinded by his privileged life) and even truly believing that Eddie would have killed Chrissy, he was taking out on Eddie all the anger he had for him. He wanted to hunt and hit, hurt, but now had an perfect excuse for it.

@munsons-maiden has a perfect post who explains very well what was going on with Jason's behavior and his relationship with Chrissy I am basing on it because it is very important for the discussion, I highly recommend that you read it. And this another one about what I said about Chrissy's role inside this blog.

This other one is also very good to explain about Eddie and Chrissy's relation: Because for some reason the ppl who like Jason loves to villanize Eddie for everything he does, so this one is amazing to analyse his real intentions with her (and to prove again how bad of a boyfriend Jason is)

You can see that happening in the second episode. When Jason discovered about Chrissy's death of course he got really bad, but seconds later he is being cynical, calculating and planning ways to attack Eddie, saying that he was a psychopath who had taken the game too seriously, mistaking fantasy for reality (this scene happens at S4 EP2, 42:35 min). They plan to literally hunt down and beat up Eddie. Andy even laughs, makes fun of him by saying that Eddie would be so scared he would "shit his pants and cry for mommy. This guy's no fighter" (the fact that Eddie doesn't even have a mother, and she's probably deceased... hurts really bad) and they KNOW that Eddie is not a fighter. He DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO FIGHT, they KNOW that and they want to BEAT HIM UP. That's so fcking problematic. Is gross, even.

What makes me think... they are saying that he's not violent? but they believe that he killed chrissy, I would be at least scared of fighting with him. Or they know something that we don't....? (Maybe they know that he wasn't responsible....? Wtf? What is happening here?

What happens next is most shocking and important part of all. Refutes everything Jason's defenders say to defend him.

The other basketball player with him laughs and Jason says

"I hope he tries something. Gives me a reason"

This scene happens in the episode 3, at the minute 11:15. I really, really want you to open your Netflix right now and rewatch the scene. The other character even replies "hell yeah".

This man is violent. They KNOW that Eddie don't know how to fight, they wanna beat him up not because of Chrissy, but because they don't like him. They were LAUGHING while saying those things. None of them were sad. And as I said, now he has an excuse to do with Eddie everything he ever wanted to do: he said it VERY CLEARLY. "I hope he tries something. gives me a reason".

This guy is sick. He wants to see him suffering and crying of pain. He wants to see Eddie reacting, running or fighting back to PROTECT HIMSELF, so that Jason can have fun while beating him up right after. So when someone asks "don't you think that went a little too far? He is very hurt" they can say "he reacted, he tried to attack us, we were just defending ourselves", or just to see the prey running so the hunter has a little more fun.

When Lucas asks something like "Are you guys going to hit him?", Andy says something like "no, we're just going to have a friendly chat" while laughing with the other basketball player. Jason lets out a cynical smile, saying "if you don't want to come, you don't have to, just know that it's okay and it's still going to be one of us", with a menacing tone in his voice. Where is the instability for being sad about chrissy's death? Where's the grief? Anyone who lost their romantic partner would cry for days and days, not bothering to talk in threatening tones to put pressure on people or plan a rebellion against Eddie. The police were already doing that; since he was "very sad" with the situation, he should go home and rest, shouldn't he?

They used the excuse that the police isn't competent and so they should do it with their own hands, but it was just another excuse to cover up their desire to beat up Eddie. And what scares me so much is the other character, right after that quote from Jason, responding with "hell yeah". They agreed with him and saw nothing wrong with what he said, unlike Lucas, who found it absurd.

And yes, I'm going to mention that scene with Gareth.

He was already being violent to other members of Hellfire, and again, that conversation makes it clear that they are enemies from more time than just that one interaction with Eddie. According to what some pro-Jasons said, if Jason was angry with Eddie only because he provoked him that time in the cafeteria and Jason was not to blame for anything, why would he have done this to the Corroded Coffin? This argument with the members of H4llfire, cursing their music and being arrogant with them, this feels like an old fight. Gareth, Jeff and Freak 1 seem to be used to these comments from Jason — something we didn't see him doing in the cafeteria scene, i.e. they obviously hate each other for a longer period of time.

And he almost broke Gareth's fingers for NO REASON, because he's not even SAD BECAUSE OF CHRISSY'S DEATH. Jason hardly ever mentions Chrissy dying, but he keeps talking about Eddie, getting revenge on Eddie, beating up Eddie, and all that craziness.

I don't even know if he really did broke his fingers or not. That was just so cruel, because it was only for him not to play the drums, out of cruelty. And his friends held the other boys so that they couldn't help, proving that they are all on the same level of cruelty. Jason even almost destroyed his drums.

If he (almost?) broke Gareth's hand just because of that, imagine what he would do to Eddie with all of that equipment. I don't remember exactly, but I know they had big things like baseball bats, crowbars, screwdrivers, things like that.

I don't even have to mention when they bought literal guns in vol 2. Even a fucking KNIFE. Like, that kind of professional knife, not made for cutting food like the ones we usually see in the kitchen. And again, with that cruel smirk on their faces. I feel so bad thinking about what they could do to Eddie. He could be shot, beaten, or stabbed to death by a GROUP of people. Not just only one guy. Eddie probably didn't even know that they could hurt him that bad; he just knew that he WOULD be beaten up, but not like this. And that's so sad because he's innocent.

Jason was CRAZY to get Eddie. In an absurd level.

hello merryana! I'm really liking Matt Smith in HOTD, but I've never watched Doctor Who, and I want to watch some of his episodes. What episodes would you recommend for someone who doesn't want to get into the show but wants to appreciate his performance?

hiiiiiiiii ❤️ oh my GOOOOOOOOD this is such a fun question for me holy shit!!! Matt Smith eleventh doctor my most beloved manic pixie mass murderer!!! okay so you're after stand alone Eleventh Doctor eps that you don't have to do homework to appreciate? I gotchu!! Okay -

The Eleventh Hour/The Beast Below - his first 2 eps! They're so nice and were intended as a soft reboot of the show. So you can watch these essentially as an intro to the show and an intro to him. No other viewing required. He's very baby and fun and so is Karen Gillan as Amy. Watching these will also set you up to watch other eps if you want to as well!

Vincent and the Doctor - arguably one of the best stand alone episodes in the show's history - it's about Vincent VanGogh. I know ppl who love this episode that have never seen another episode of DW. It's honestly just a great ep for its story, as well as Matt's role in it.

The Doctor's Wife - Also a very iconic standalone written by Neil Gaiman of Sandman and Good Omens fame, if that helps. I honestly think it's the best ep that shows Matt Smith's range as the Doctor because it's an emotional roller-coaster that pulls off one of the most ballsy ideas ever. The less you know going in the better honestly. Neil Gaiman went on record actually and said Matt was the only Doctor he trusted with this story.

A Christmas Carol - best part about Christmas specials is that they're made for anyone to watch, fan or not. This was a DW twist on the Charles Dickens story and its my favourite of the Christmas specials ever. No prior viewing of anything is necessary and Matt is so cute in this it's almost unbearable. There's also a shark, which I love, because sharks are my favourite. I'd also reccomend 'The Snowmen' for similar easy viewing christmas shenanigans.

Hide - to this day, I don't think there's been a sweeter episode. It's kinda like Doctor Who meets Haunting of Bly Manor. I've shown this to ppl who don't watch DW in the past and they have a lovely time.

If you're feeling particularly confident in your ability to just roll with the punches, I'd also reccomend the 50th anniversary special, The Day of the Doctor because it was also made to be watchable by anyone, and it's got David Tennant, and him and Matt are really fun together. It is a little Who Lore™ heavy though so I don't reccomend it as much as the others, especially if you really know nothing about the show.

As I'm writing this I'm realising how insular Matt's 3 and a bit seasons are and honestly if you have the time you could just watch his seasons without needing to watch anything before if you were feeling dedicated! But if not, the above eps are very solid stand alones that show you what he was like in the show (see: a delight!).

Last thing I'll say is if you do watch these.......cw for it being a show written and led by white British men in the early 2010s. There's nothing Very Bad it's just sorta cringe in places cos sometimes you just forget what TV was like back then.

I don't know how to not make this sound like a hate comment or call out post because I'm not about the tone. So I'll just be straight forward. Sorry if it still does come off that way.

Guys like Mick jagger fetishise black women, using them only for sexual gratification.

They don't see BW as worth doing any more than that for. Just interchangeable hypersexual beings/toys they can fulfill a weird fantasy with. They don't show up for black rights - only doing the bare minimum, a lot of times even less.

Mick also followed the pattern of those that go on to only publicly pair with and commit to white women when they've had their fill of the "BW fantasy", want to settle down and have a "respectable" relationship.

That's interesting! I don't believe Mick Jagger is a racist. A dickhead? Absolutely! Lol But a racist...no, not in that sense. And it’s strange because he’s a total contradiction; he’ll write a song like “Brown Sugar” or “Some Girls” where you can say this is fetishizing Black female bodies and it's offensive, but he’ll also give money to the Black Panther Party, praise the protests after MLK was shot (which was unheard of) or release a record like “Sweet Black Angel” about Angela Davis. Also, I think that Mick also pursued a lot of intimate relationships with Black women because, especially during that time, Black women didn’t really have much interest in “white” folk and rock music. They weren’t invested in someone like Mick Jagger’s star persona. Even Keith Richards said something to that effect in his autobiography:

Black women didn’t idolize these white men, they didn’t worship them like white girls did, to which they probably found attractive. Also, when the Stones first started out in the early 60s, they were strictly an R&B group and toured with a lot of Black acts like The Ronettes, Little Richard, The Vibrations, Ike & Tina Turner, etc. They had an appreciation for the art form and the idiom, and a lot of the Black musicians used to look out for them because they were different: They were British, they wore their hair long, they were outcasts like Black folks. His eldest child’s mother, Marsha Hunt, wanted to keep their relationship private because she didn’t want to deal with the criticism of being in an interracial relationship with a rockstar or the pressure of being a major rockstar’s girlfriend (i.e. a few his girlfriends tried to commit suicide). I mean, he wasn’t like “hiding” her. I do joke about him dating Black women all the time, but I don’t think Mick is a bigot; he dates all kinds of girls whether, brown, black, white, whatever. It doesn't matter to him!

I can't believe you posted CI5 whump... I've become totally obsessed. Especially the episode 'discovered in a graveyard'. Also, although there's some great whump in the last episode of season 1, I feel pretty weird about enjoying whump from an episode which is discussing racism in such a vivd and open way. It's amazing that they were discussing this stuff in the 1970s, even if the episode never got aired. How do you feel about it?

Also, I was wondering if you've seen any Inspector George Gently whump, seeing as Martin Shaw gets whumped in that a few times too. Seems like the kinda thing you would enjoy

Ahhhhhh Profs CI5 is my fav I've never been so hooked on a series myself!

I love Insp George Gently 110% funny enough I saw that before Profs CI5 and didnt know for a while why Doyle/Martin Shaw seemed so familiar lol OK I have no problem discussing it my opinion isn't always popular or appreciated but I'm more than willing to give it :)

Firstly Klansmen ep is one of the best for whump isnt it?! not many have the boys both whumped and separated unable to help the other!

Secondly in relation to the topic, is it a very heavy ep, oh yeah.

Should you feel weird liking it?

I don't think so at all, this series pulls no punches when getting into topics esp topics that were new for the time including but not limited to: drug addiction (new drugs where on the streets like heroin), prostitution (the various victims and abusers/users), alcoholism, metal illness, homosexuality/gay (not having been legal for long) etc, they show it in as much a reality as a TV show can, it's not pretty it's not clean and it's hard to watch as it should be, so why wouldn't they show racism in the same way

If they'd made it a soft ep it wouldn't carry the same weight as the ep does in my opinion.

Like all topics you get to see a lot of character stress/trauma and even growth which I think is a big part of it as well particularly with Bodie in that ep, if you watch the series everyone knows he has no issues with Blacks but scars from his SAS and mercenary days sometimes show through and I feel this ep helps move passed that a bit as well he goes from using terms that Cowley and Doyle disapprove of to being saved by the Black Doctor and Nurses who deal with his fever induced ramblings and in the conclusion you see Bodie walk away a better person.

I also really felt the way the Doctor and nurse were handled was perfect no matter what he said in his delirium they did what they could to save him and you got to see her face when it started but she never stopped doing her job caring for him. Also in that ep you get the different POV of the locals effected by the baddies attacks you see the fear, physical harm, and death inflicted which is another important point they show its not just looked out from an outsider.

Then in the finale the plot twist showing a man selling out his own ppl funding a hate group for the gains the housing they take over brings.

Never to leave out Doyle ofc his role in this ep while on his own nearly the whole time showed his experience having worked in the rougher parts of the city pre-CI5 how he has a better understanding of the inner city and how he built trust in those days shines through in his interactions with the kid saving him then busting the whole setup.

To try and sum it up I think it is one of the most important eps to watch it happened at the "perfect" time in the series you know the boys enough not to judge reactions in the same way while also witnessing a redemption story of Bodie and then move on to the rest of the series.

1. your all time favorite bl and why

ummm yeah its bad buddy. a bl has never really come close to this nor do i think it ever will. bc as well as all the billions of ways I and everyone else has gushed about this show, do you ever feel like a show has been hand-crafted just for you?? like it contains everything you love, all your favourite plot beats and character traits and storytelling devices. even the styling, the music, the sets, the cinematography, like its so up your street, it hits all the points, checks all the boxes, even the ones you didnt know were there. yeah, thats bad buddy for me. its like the holy and omnipotent p’aof plucked my dream show out of my head and just made it for me. and it is everything.

2. that one bl that scarred you for life

yeah probs MODC, not even bc the ending broke me bc i was so invested in the story and characters, more so that it just felt... wrong? like bad and poorly done, and i’m more scarred that the show decided to leave me with the message of you will never be happy all good in the world is temporary when there could’ve been such a positive and uplifting ending... yeah, it sucked.

3. is there any bl that made you feel very single?

bad buddy. their relationship dynamic is truly my dream. and not even just bc of their beautifully easy intimacy, or all their effortless cute moments. its more that i’m never gonna have a forced rival turned friend turned fake enemies turned maybe friends turned lovers turned husbands soulmate ever in my life. and thats a crime.

4. if you could change one thing from a bl, which one would it be?

this one took me too long to think about bc there’s a list of things i’d like changed. but one of my absolute pet peeves is over the top jealousy. and dont get me wrong, i do like jealousy as a plot point if its done well. but i cant stand when all it takes is a character breathing next to another guy for his partner to get pissed. and even worse when he tries to make them feel bad and guilty about it when they literally did nothing wrong. thats when its just excessive and unnecessary drama and plain bad writing and i hate it.

5. that one bl you detest (don’t hold back)

this isn’t exactly detest but i’ll say it here bc i feel like its one of my only *controversial* opinions. i dont like light on me. where other korean bls aren’t long enough and rushed, light on me just felt unnecessarily dragged out. the plot moved at a snails pace and was just bland to the point that i cant really recall what happened. i wasn’t invested in the love triangle bc the only character i really liked was shinwoo, and i just didnt get anything much from taekyung, like i never felt that he really liked either of them. this is probably bc i dont care much for k-dramas in general and light on me felt very k-drama-ey but yeah. i very much appreciate it for what it did for bls in korea, but it aint for me.

8. your favorite korean bl (it’s important we know)

to my star by farrrrrrrr. it didnt do anything genius but its easily the best chemistry ive seen between leads in korean bls.

i will say bad buddy purely bc i am biased and want to live in their world for as long as they’ll let me. i love pat and pran more than i could say and they could do a whole s2 of them just going to work, eating out and doing household chores and i’d hail it as a masterpiece.

but also, if i’d trust anyone to handle a s2 and not make it messy and unnecessarily dramatic and about cheating, it’d be p’aof. i just feel like he’d have the ability to create a storyline that was interesting and engaging and with stakes without having to separate the main couple and i’d love to see what he could come up with.

Hey i really love your blog!!! I just plucked the courage to actually send u an ask fhdjhd but GOSH i love your video edits and your gifs and your meta article posts, you're so articulate and you can explain/describe moments in a way that makes me go "oh wow, i cant believe i haven't seen it that way before!!" Haha ANYWAYS i'm just here to say that i completely agree with what all u said, Free creators might do a lil fanservice here and there for the 25 ships that exists within the fandom's circle, but rinharu's storyline is clearly the most romantic one! And i'd argue it's the one closest to being canon esp after part 1, i mean the fact that they put such an explosive emotional outburst right at the end of the second to the last movie means a lot. It's like reinforcing the fact that this series has always been about them, and everything that has happened only happened either because they met or they grew appart and miss eachother. I kinda feel like maybe.. juust maayyybe there's a chance KA wants to make the ship canon, since it's the last movie and they want to end it on a highnote maybe (bcs honestly i think the only reason they've been holding back is purely bcs of the merch sales, since they don't have a problem showing a wholesome lesbian love story in kobayashi maid dragon) butt i could be wrong, maybe i'm just overly optimistic and delusional, they could somehow ruin it and give an ending that panders to all the ships again 😅🥲, but at least there's a clear-cut guarantee that part 2 would dedicate a large portion of it fixing rin and haru's fight!!! Oohh how can i wait another 6 months now!!😭😭 (sorry for the long ask btw!! 🙏🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️)

Well, you know me, I only care for one ship, which is the only one with confirmed info that they're both actually gay and have mutual feelings for each other. There are some other ships in free! I'm fine with (those do not include Rin or Haru in them xD), but I just mostly don't care, bc after reading all the stuff, you can see that in some of those to one the other one is actually like his second option, which I just do not like. Others I just don't even see, bc again to me who witnessed great close male friendships and having two sisters who I'm very close to, I just do not see anything romantic in that.

It's not just Free! tbh, it's like any sports anime these days. They see two guys walking together, it's a ship. And like no one cares if they're just bros. Like I'd get i they did some fanservice fanservice, but like I never saw anyone in Free! crossing the line the way rinharu do. I can without thinking much name you 10 rh moments that no matter how hard you think can't be explain as being bros, but can't name one when it comes to others. I just find some ppl shipping everyone with everyone weird sometimes. It's like western fans see like some eastern actors or singers slap each other ass lovingly and they're like "oh they're fucking" I'm like "yeah, ofc all 500 of them, you're absolutely right". And Free! doesn't do anything even like that, I just do not get sometimes like what moment even brought on some ships. I'm genuinely confused. Albert and Haru? You fucking fell from a sakura tree or smth? I'm...

I'm especially confused when it comes to guys, whose character type is who I call "I only want this one and if I can't have it, then I'm ok" xD. It just always surprised me, when they try to pair up them with someone else, it's like a complete ooc.

I'm also not into this whole "well, if there are gays in this anime, than everyone there is gay". I'm like... huh. It's like with KNB and MDZS I had same feeling. It's like you have already couples there who are canon/borderline canon, why do you need another 10 who don't even interact or just don't even go there? I'm always so confused in those situations. Or like wangxian is married and some are like "no, I actually don't like it, let me write a fic when they're with other ppl". Lan Zhan... being in love or having sex with someone else? Yeah, that's not Lan Zhan, dude, you're writing about someone else. Might as well change the name at this point.

But last time I went to twitter someone had a thread about how if they make s4 of Free! they should mainly explore there Momo's angst (and no, it wasn't a joke), so I'm already like, I'm just.. nothing will surprise me no more. But I'm forever gonna be confused.

Yeah, I eel you about "going there". I mean seeing part of it, it just kinda cemented my confusion, bc I do not get how it can be considered platonic. We were just discussing since yesterday with @freeseafirefly how I now even more perplexed and do not understand how they will resolve it without going into relationship territory. It's just our point here is that like... no one forced them to go there (I mean its not like this whole fandom has some wild expectations or anything already), we were waiting or our usual friendship and swimming and maybe tiny conflict about struggles of pro-careers and some usual rh implications (maybe all the rh gay in dramas as always). Not some pure fanfiction coming to life here haha.

Like why I'm laughing is bc I twice used in my "fics" bringing up him leaving Haru as a force to push the confession, bc there's no way if he adresses this it won't lead to this. And now we not only have this (bc Haru just basically layed it out there), but an actual scene of him playing on their feelings for each other and a literal image of Rin leaving and "taking Haru's heart with him" to the point when he's for the first time in his life openly crying on the ground. And it's not like this scene can be interpreted as anything else, the whole fandom talks same, bc the whole fight was just about them, what Haru said was just about them, there's a literal boom of his heart getting out of his chest, before he falls and now he's heartless.

So our question is like... why go there?

It's like some say that they might still resolve it with "they're special to each other" and swimming, but still like we already knew that, there was no reason to go that far is what I'm saying. And to think that it was planned since forever giving the clues is like... ???

The whole spoon theme also throw me on the loop because like, lets be honest, it's wedding themed. And that part of the interview about part 2 there also made me go...?????? Because I mean, huh?

This is just all in all very interesting turn of events to say the least. I do not see the point of all of this if its not what I think it is, esp after seeing tweets like "even I see a rh wedding and I'm mh T_T". It's just all very unsubtle, that's why we're confused.

Like who knows, maybe we'll really by some magic turn of events get lucky and they really decided that since its the ending, it's okay to go for it. But I also don't wanna to hype myself much, I'm already really happy with it, just bc again, this scene already proves all of my points.

And yeah, I'm sure they'll pander to everyone, bc it's the end and etc and we have to handle everything on the good note and there's a whole line of ppl who's obsessed with us, esp with Haru xD, but like bromance pandering and romance pandering are different things, you know *wiggles eyebrows* and u know who always gets the second one.

i’m 5’5, plus sized, and i dye my hair often, normally blue or purple but occasionally i’ll dye it black of bleach it blonde. i have no sense of fashion, i dress in sweatpants and tshirts all the time bc i like to be comfortable but i also like dressing up sometime >:)

i personally think i’m hilarious and make a lot of jokes and i try to keep the energy light wherever i am! when i’m around people i don’t know i am i sanely quiet and tend to keep to myself unless they talk to me first. i love horror movies (shocker) and the genre as a whole and i like to read books on the making of films as well as women in the genre

i write a lot and like to read mainly thrillers and horror or memoirs. i’m good with kids too! i have a bit of a temper but i never get angry just really annoyed and i find it hard to keep myself calm when i get to that point. when i do get angry i end up crying and shaking lol i’ve occasionally hit a wall too but i try not to because i hate doing that.

i consider myself artistic? ish? like i’m not good at artsy stuff but i do it bc it’s fun and relaxing lol. IDK WHAT ELSE TO PUT BAE D: all i know is i’m a whore

But, welp, here we have another lucky bitch bc I think, romantically, you match pretty damn evenly with both of them! Smack dab in the middle.

- I feel like Billy would like that you dress lowkey. He's judgmental, and if you dressed up every single day he might be like "Wow who're you dressing up for? 🙄" Uh you, bitch? Regardless, he likes not having any attention on him or his partner, so being lowkey is a plus!

- Stu would absolutely dye his hair along with you. You can't tell me Stu doesn't look like Tim LaFlour in college. You'd get together on the weekends and do the whole bleaching and dying process together.

- You being hilarious is a plus to both, since they both appreciate someone with a sense of humor. Stu likes it bc he can joke around with you as much as he wants, and Billy likes it bc he secretly likes funny ppl bc he's not funny himself.

- You being quiet means that Stu would just approach you first tbh. Billy would take longer since he's a pretty quiet dude himself. But if you end up becoming good friends with Stu, Billy would eventually meet you anyway.

- You liking horror is a given, but what really piques Billy's interest about you is how you enjoy learning about the making of process. If you drop to him something he doesn't know about a movie's behind the scenes? Heart eyes motherfucker.

- Also, deconstructing and analyzing the women of the genre would be fun and open his eyes a lil (Honestly even though Billy's motive was misogynistic, I think he isn't as bad as Stu in that regard. He has some fave female characters, and he loves character analysis, it's just he's kinda like those dudes who love anime waifus but shit on real life women for not being like fictional characters lmaooo. Does that make sense?)

- Show him your horror writings. Billy loves reading anything horror, thriller, or mystery related. Be prepared for criticism though, he doesnt hold back, especially with a partner.

- Stu loves artistic people, as I mentioned in some previous matchups. And I feel like he's also good with kids, so catch you guys chatting with some kid in the line of an amusement park ride and making a lil friend that day.

Let’s jump right in:

Kinda love how Kara lamp-shaded addressed the fact she didn't tell the gang about her adventures in the PZ. She’s not wrong, tho.

...what do I want to say about Mxy using what's basically a well-known gay-anthem to tell his tale? I mean, it didn’t lead anywhere. The original song is about freeing oneself, liberation, stepping out of a (gone bad) relationship and moving on, stronger for it - empowerment. The only connection I could make, is that originally it was Nyxly’s aim to just do that (freeing herself and her kind from an oppressor), but in the way Mxy performed it, that part of the parallel was long over before he even reached the chorus. It’s also a popular Karaoke song, tho, so... he chose it because it’s catchy? I’ll try not to overthink it for now. At least, the Superfriend’s reactions were fun.

Nia exiting the elevator, "And what's this Old Stone?" I love it when ppl enter a room / situation and pick up on words that they couldn't have possibly heard. I think cinema sins ding such... Are we to assume, she dreamed Mxy's rendition of ‘I will survive’? Or is the elevator not sound-proof at all? (If it’s the latter, Nia later apparently telling Brainy “in private” between scenes / during the elevator ride about her Nyxly adventures, was a silly thing to do.)

So, "Jared" created the ring Old Stone to rule them all, it got shattered into the Paragons totems? Nyxly needs the totems and to get them she needs a crystal which also belonged to "Jared" - who happens to be Mxy's ancestor, which is why she needs Mxy / his blood, too.

I have one important and incredibly relevant question here, tho...

With the introduced imps and their names... Why’s dude named Jared of all things?!

Sensitive Brainy sensed something was up with Nia. He can relate... Nia doubting Kara would understand, too, is ridiculous. But I get it... insecurities and all. But, I mean, just 5 minutes later Kara announces she wants to save Nyxly despite her wrongdoings. And yet Nia still remains convinced, Kara wouldn’t forgive her own personal mini-me... After having witnessed Kara forgiving Lena for a whole season of the writers being stupid messing up to the nth degree. But I digress, Lena’s Lena.

...how old is Nia meant to be again? Just asking out of completely unrelated curiosity.

F*ck. They really went with NewFoundland...

Imma assume it was an executive choice after realizing they couldn’t find enough actors and actresses with a convincing Irish accent... maybe. Again, no offense to Newfoundland! Just... we got the insinuations of Ireland, not Newfoundland... And truthfully, when I think of magic, Ireland is an easy association. Whereas I only due to this whole debacle learned Newfoundland has Irish ancestry. So, okay, the show forced me to learn something new... I give ‘em that.

An easy journey, she said.

Lena's been off-screen for two whole episodes, Kara announcing at the beginning of ‘Dreamweaver’ [6x09] Lena being “back east” (at least insinuating Lena’s left the west-coast already), which span over at least one full day (feat. a scene at night), and ‘I still rise’ [6x10] at least another a whole day (the whole Nia’s mom back for a day deal). And, now, after at least 48 hours she barely just arrived.

Lemme check how long a regular plane would need to fly from California to NFL......... ... .. .. So... approx. 10 hours with at least one layover.

Yeah, using a private jet made it easier, but apparently also much, much slower...

Or, Lena randomly went some other places / did some sight-seeing in NFL before she decided to finally visit her mother’s hometown... [Either that or the timelines don’t match up and Lena’s scenes are flashbacks of sorts.]

Optimistic and relaxed Lena is a sight to behold. I rewound 3 times, just to enjoy it for as long as possible. We all knew it was going to be short-lived...

Something about these scenes had me constantly cringe and I made it through 5.5 seasons of this show already... Can’t quite put my finger on it, but it was highly distracting from the story that explained Lena’s mom was special even to another witch, where there was domestic abuse, and an accidental murder. Y’know, important stuff, deep-cutting stuff!

At least, poor widddle Lena got some closure there. Elisabeth was a good cookie. And filled with magic. And Lena’s gotta have that ‘spark’, too...

I guess, for once the episode title was meant to be taken literally, Mxy popping up between characters, to try and help. (I need in-show footage, of Mxy sneaking up on ppl, without his powers, on all fours / crouched, just to get the desired effect.) I mean, I’ve never really watched Malcom, but wasn’t he like what Mxy usually is? A bit of a trouble-maker, prankster, chaos-ensuing wherever he goes? ...well, in that case, the episode title didn’t hold up, as Mxy’s scenes were not fun or really goofy. Yes, there was some superficial humor, but just to serve Mxy dealing with not being able to use his powers, which in turn was only barely scratched at (although it turned out to be his final character development crisis, appreciating not having powers and - in turn - facing consequences for once). Again, a whole lot going on in the episode, so a lot of that may have ended up on the cutting-room floor.

...where’s Kelly? Secretly adopting a kid, maybe?

...Kara’s still a reporter, right? I mean, whenever it serves the immediate plot, yes? ...Not even a throw-away line, that she has to pop up at CatCo for appearances sake? Since Andrea is already upset with her AND looking into her friends’ identities? At least, Kara should take a peek to make sure Andrea hasn’t uncovered anything yet... No?

ok I’ve been hesitant to post this but I’m just going to😣 sometimes i do agree with the posts asking for more updates BUT NOT LIKE THE HATE ONES but just on the subject in general of more updates for MH. my reason being that I’m just so scared that you’re just gonna drop the story one day and never finish it😭 this always happens to so many good stories that I’ve read on here and on wattpad, and it just makes me so sad because I’d be following those stories and always excited for updates but then the writers just go off the grid and never post anything again. and with all the hate you get I’m even more scared of that happening because MH is such an amazing story and I’d really like to see how it turns out😞 so the only reason I’m somewhat for more updates is because I’m just scared of MH being one of those stories that never gets it’s ending. However I do understand that you have your own life outside of this and sometimes life just throws so many things at you and it can be hard to manage sometime. So although I do wish for more updates, I do want you to always keep both your physical and mental health at top priority.

I can promise you that I will finish this story, I'm planning to do that with every ongoing story, it's something I promised myself to do. Ever since MH started, I've always worked on it. Right after I posted a chapter, I'd already be working on another one. As much as I appreciate all the support and love this story is getting, I feel like anything else I'm writing is not important because everyone is focusing only on MH. If I think about it deeply, I think to myself "am I only good enough for MH? aren't my other stories good and fun too?". I've said this many times, I don't totally mind when people are asking about updates, just because it shows they're excited about the story... but there is a certain boundary. I'm always trying to find something positive in everything. I'm only human too after all and there are times when things gets a little bit too much for me and I do feel pressured, especially when I know I have the time to write but I just choose not to because my inspiration is just not there and I mostly pressure myself, knowing you guys are waiting for it and I want to give you everything asap to show you my gratitude for your support and love.

I also think why some of the readers are impatient is also because they're used to that there's a chapter quite frequently (even tho I've seen a few ppl saying that I don't update story frequently which kinda surprised me because I still think I'm doing a good job when it comes to mh updates, maybe not this month but that's because I told myself to rest and focus on other things). But chapters are getting longer, they're not 5k anymore like when they used to be when I updated every week. There is a lot of stuff some readers aren't realizing because they simply just want an update. And a part of me understands that but I ask for understatement too, try to see things from my perspective :)

But to answer you and focus on your ask... don't worry bub, I'm planning to finish MH even if it should take me years to finish it! Thank you for your kind words and understatement, I appreciate them :)
