so i saw some Fucked Up ice cream at the store today and against my better judgement i bought a bunch of them to try out of morbid curiosity. after i taste test them all, i will report back later with my findings.

Quickly Following up to this post comparing the captures of Maedhros (and Húrin) throughout Tolkien’s different drafts but one thing I find interesting and fun is that Maedhros’s imprisonment and torture has existed for as long as he has, indeed, it predates the final versions of his name and the names of his family.

Some elements have changed; the time and location of his capture, details of Morgoth’s motives, and details regarding his injuries but for as long as the eldest son of Fëanor has been a character, he has been doomed to this ordeal.

Even the loss of his hand has existed since well before the writing that became the published Silmarillion though in earlier versions it was Morgoth himself who caused its loss

It adds another meta element to doomed by the narrative, him fate awaited with a fell purpose, etc
