you had no idea what you'd gotten yourself into.
your new life at wayne manor was fast-paced and quite absurd. the transition from living in a cramped dorm with one girl to an ancient mansion with a bunch of other heroes whose lives you could barely keep up with hit you like a ton of bricks, it gave you whiplash.
you'd been friends with dick grayson ever since the two of you were teenagers. he was always someone you could easily bond with. whether it was about school, relationships, or being a vigilante the majority of the short time the both of you had been on this earth, he was always there for you. he was your best friend.
you never really had anyone you would consider family. orphaned at such a young age, you grew up to be cautious of other people, always wary that they would abandon you or find ways to exploit you.
at the beginning of your friendship with dick, you had honestly been quite jealous of the older male. you knew it was a bit selfish, but you couldn't help it. there was always a small part of you that despised him for being taken in by a wealthy man who could support him at his every whim, his newfound family that seemed to only grow bigger and bigger each time you saw him. how despite all the terrible things he had been through, he managed to find happiness, or at least content in his life.
and you wanted that, too.
but you always buried those feelings deep down. it wasn't his fault, and you couldn't blame him for it either, so you pretended it was never there in the first place. instead, you put on a brave face. it wasn't too difficult, and for some short moments, you did truly believe that you were happy, regardless of how out of place you felt sometimes around dick and his brothers and sisters.
brothers and sisters. those words were so foreign to you, that when you looked over the relationships you had with dick and his family, you almost had a sort of epiphany. none of them were blood related at all, but they went through thick and thin together no matter what. and a small part of you hoped, wished, that maybe you could be apart of that too.
maybe it was all just irrational.
dick and you had spent a lot of time together. at school, at the justice league headquarters, fighting side by side at unholy hours of the night, or just casual hangouts. you knew him well enough to catch that subtle look in his eyes whenever he looked at you. pity. it was there whenever he brought up what parties bruce was throwing for one of the kids' birthdays, or how tim and jason got into another petty fight that he had to resolve, damian getting awards at school that the family had to attend.
all experiences and problems that you never had, and probably never would. at least, that's what you thought, up until now.
"why don't you come stay wayne manor?"
at first, the question caught you off guard. sure, you spent countless of sleepovers at the place, and you'd known a decent amount about it to get around by yourself with ease, but still. you never considered the possibility of actually staying there. and by the look on dick's face, he seems to notice that too. "i meant- if you want. i just know how lonely it can be for you sometimes, and it would just be easier for us, y'know with our nighttime activities and-"
your eyes roll at his quick rambling, internally cringing a bit at the prospect of him mentioning you being fucking lonely. you flash him a weak smile, your tone dripping with sarcasm.
"sheesh, dick, thanks." you don't mean to sound so harsh, but it's difficult when all of this is so personal to you.
"i didn't mean it like that. and it's no big deal, really. we have plenty of space, and im sure bruce won't mind. maybe alfred, since he has to pick up after your ass but-" dick continues, shrugging it off like it really didn't mean anything. like he wasn't asking you to pack up your shit and move in with him and his family. "you're always welcome there."
and at that, your heart softens a bit. of course, you knew that, but even when you stayed over for a weekend or two, you never wanted to feel like you were overstaying. "i'll think about it, dick."
and you did. you thought about it quite a lot actually, even before dick had asked you that ludicrous question. and he was right. it would make things easier. you'd have a stable roof over your head, instead of the cracked ones that leaked like your dormatory back in gotham. you'd be able to spend more time with the people you cared about. you'd have people that cared about you too, look after you, and defend you if needed. it couldn't be that bad, right?
that's how you ended up here.
in a room that was bigger than all the shitty squats you lived since you were a kid combined. there was so much space you didn't know what to do with it. but the rowdiness of the boys and girls outside your door brought a smile to your face. life at wayne manor would call for some serious adjustment, but you felt like you could power through it. plus, it was only a bonus that you'd always thought jason was cute, much to dick's disgust.
the first couple of weeks staying here were honestly going great, much to your surprise. the family had welcomed you with open arms, some of them not even batting an eye when you regularly attended dinner with them, or walked around in your pajamas, or were quick to be in the cave once it was time for patrol. like you were supposed to be there all along.
your friendship with dick was more of the same, only now you lived with him. jason and you had gotten closer, but you didn't trust calling whatever feelings you had for him enough to call it a crush. you didn't always understand whatever nerd stuff tim would ramble about, but you listened to him anways. you appreciated how much stephanie and cass involved you into their movie nights and gossiping. well more you and stephanie gossiping than cass, but it still felt like you had the girl best friends you had always craved for. damian took some time to warm up to you, but you could still bond with him over his art and love for animals. alfred loved you already, so there wasn't much there to add. and then there was bruce.
you couldn't quite place your finger on bruce. even when you were younger, his stoicism and broodiness was something you couldn't get past, only in rare moments. there was always something about him that you found off-putting. granted that he was always kind, if that's even the right word for it, he never made you feel unwelcome, but you always felt uneasy around the man.
maybe it was how he seemed to be able to read you like an open book, how he could disappear in a room full of people, how he never quite matched the energy in the room, his incessant staring. god, you hated how much he stared at you. bruce's gaze made you feel small, when you usually were confident and assured of yourself. you could feel his eyes burning into you across the room, and you didn't know how to say anything about it or do much for that matter besides distract yourself.
you thought that by now you'd be able to get over whatever it was about him, that you'd known bruce long enough that you could just play it off as him being strange in his own way, but those feelings had only intensified ever since you moved into the mansion.
chills would run down your spine whenever he'd place a heavy hand on your waist, seemingly as casual touch, but it always lingered too long. held on too tight. this look in his eyes, but you couldn't tell what it was. you had brought it up briefly to dick, but he didn't think much of it, laughing it off, saying something along the lines that's just bruce, you'll get used to it.
but you didn't. you couldn't.
especially now that bruce was inviting you to spar with him. to make sure you're prepared, he said. prepared for what exactly, you're not so sure. but you reluctantly agreed, trying to see it as something useful and educational that you could actually use while fighting against whatever villain of the day thought about creating mayhem in gotham.
bruce was strong and brutish compared to you. every time you tried to throw your best at him, he always managed to get the upper hand, and you'd be flat on the sparring mat in a matter of seconds. it had almost seemed like childsplay to him, and if you didn't know any better, you'd think that maybe deep down a part of him enjoyed it.
he'd roughly grab and contort your body in uncomfortable positions, to test your flexibility, as he so called it. your hair would be pulled unforgivingly, and he'd place his weight on top of you, telling you to try and escape from him, much to your avail. you felt like he was taunting you, "you think those criminals in gotham are gonna be easy on you like i am?"
it didn't fucking feel like he was going easy. bruce would place his hand on your neck and choke you out till you were clawing at his skin, only letting go if you tried to beg or actually managed to use your own skill to get him to stop, but that had only happened once and never again. and when you writhed and struggled in his bruising hold, you'd notice that damn look in his eyes again.
no, this wasn't normal sparring.
you'd seen him spar with the other boys and girls, and it had never been like this. and although he was still ruthless, he'd given them actual advice. advice that you'd seen them use out in the field on multiple occasions.
you'd been wandering around gotham long enough to know when someone had it out for you. whether it was sex, crime, or something else, you knew that distinct look in a persons eyes.
a predator hunting down prey.
☆☆☆☆☆
you tried to wash off whatever the hell that was with bruce down the drain. everytime the eery thought of him having less than good intentions for you came up, you pushed it away. whether it was out of guilt for even thinking of him in that way, cause he saved so many people each night without expecting anything in return, or because he was your best friends father, and no he'd never hurt you. that's just unreasonable.
the whole situation just made your head hurt. maybe it's just an overreaction. dick said that whatever this behavior was is normal of bruce. and so you foolishly continue to believe it.
you search your drawers for a fresh pair of panties, too tired to realize that some of your favorite pairs had gone missing. the room, which you personalized after your couple of weeks here, feels suddenly strange to sleep by yourself in.
when you first moved in, you slept like a baby. you felt safe, like this was a normal thing because you'd slept well in these walls ever since your sleepovers with dick. now, it just felt like something was watching you. a feeling that sometimes left goosebumps on your skin, and you couldn't understand what it was.
there's bruises on your skin from how tightly bruce held onto you. some as big as the shape of his hands on your wrists, and as small as the tips of his fingers on your neck. you're completely oblivious to the camera that's watching you closely, placed strategically so you'd never find it. you're oblivious to the man whose behind them.
even if you had just taken a shower, you decide to get yourself dirty again, in other ways. your favorite thing to relieve stress. playtime. so you trace your fingertips down your body with a feather-light touch, gently tweaking and rolling your fingers between your nipples to get yourself excited. you allow your mind to go blank for a while.
you have no idea that bruce's breathing only gets heavier when he realizes what you're about to do. don't know how his cock is hardening beneath his joggers when you push your panties to the side, gathering up your slick and finding your clit to pleasure yourself. don't know that he's stroking himself too, between the layers of his pants and boxers, with your panties in his hand.
how he wishes there was better light in the darkness of your room, so he could get a better look at your glistening pussy, and swearing to himself that he'll get a good look at it upclose one day. he matches your pace, making sure he only gets to cum at the same time you do.
you seem frustrated. he thinks that maybe he can fix that for you. you lick at your middle and index finger, using your own saliva as lubricant, teasing yourself by slowly rubbing along your wet folds. torturing him. the soft pads of your fingers find your clit, setting a medium-slow pace. and bruce tries his best to mimick your actions. pulling himself out of the constraints of his clothes, teasing the fat mushroom head of his cock, gliding a thumb over the tiny slit where his pre-cum dripped out of him, then moving it down his shaft to gently pump it with his hand.
and when your fingers pick up the pace, so do his hands. his eyes intently watch the screen before him, admiring the way your body arches up off the bed, head pushing into the pillows. your chest heaves a bit, and by the way you're biting on your bottom lip, he can tell you're struggling to be quiet. he doesn't want you be, but he'll take what he can get, for now.
your hips writhe a bit, almost like you wanted to fuck back at your fingers, desperately needing something thicker than your petite hands. you move both hands down to your cunt, so you can play with your clit and finger fuck yourself at the same time, and the action makes your pussy cry at the attention.
bruces muscles flex with each jerk of his hand, his free hand going down to gently cup his balls. his eyes hone in on your tiny digits, moving in and out of your cunt with one sole purpose, your juices creating a filthy sound that's like heaven to bruce's ears. he wants to be there so he could get a taste of that sweet pussy, but he suffices with your panties in his mouth, biting down on the fabric.
he could see the markings he left on your delicate skin in the moonlight that peeks into your room, possessiveness coursing through him. he feels pathetic for even doing this, but he can't help himself. bruce's cock twitches in his hand at the sight, knowing your orgasm was coming quickly by how sloppy and rushed your movements were becoming.
it's been so long since you've touched yourself. too long in fact, that your cunt spasms and gushes, completely soaking your hands and the sheets beneath you in the process. and bruce allows himself to cum too, his cock jumping a bit with every rope of the sticky substance, covering his happy trail and abs.
you seem too tired to care that you're laying in your own pussy juice, darkening the fabric below. bruce's eyes are soft, watching you roll over on your side, not even bothering to clean up afterwards. that was a tomorrow's problem.
bruce makes sure to save the precious evidence that the camera caught, knowing it'll be hidden away for his eyes only. he watches you fall asleep in your own mess till his cock begins to soften, placing himself back into his boxers.
he knows you pretty well, he'd like to think. knows you well enough that if you knew what he'd just done, you'd probably slap him across the face. another part of him hopes it turns you on just as much as it turns him on, but maybe that's just him feeding into his delusion. he trails his eyes over your sleeping form just one more time, a small goodnight baby whispered from his lips, even if you can't hear him.
he shuts off the computer for the night, hoping that he'll soon be lucky enough to watch you touch yourself again tomorrow. or maybe even get to fuck you. soon. really fucking soon.
he'll have to remind himself to be a bit grateful for dick inviting you to stay here, in his home. bruce hadn't been too proud when he suggested it to dick, bringing up that you'd easily accept to their request of moving into wayne manor. and he was right.
if dick or anyone else was suspicious about what bruce was doing, or planned on doing, he wasn't too worried of it. he also knew his adopted children well enough that they wouldn't tell on him, and loved you too much to allow you to leave, and for that, he was also grateful.
he had you right where he wanted you, and he'd give you a really hard time if you even thought about leaving now.

Can I ask for a follow up on Australian bat!bro reader where he gets annoyed bc they won’t let him drink alcohol or smth? Here in Australia there is alot of underage drinking. (I mean I got high and tipsy at my 17th birthday party with parental permission💀)
Just thinking about the culture shock most of them would get 😭
Lol, it's the same thing here where I live. Alcohol flows around here. Despite being an adult, I don't drink at all. I just hate alcohol. Also, I know this is short, but it's fine...
Summary: (Y/N) wants to drink. The fam is not allowing it.
Warnings: Underage drinking,
Tumblr media
Australia and America couldn't be anymore different when it came to drinking. In America, a simple of drop for a person under 21 is disappointing to parents. Siblings would probably be happy and proud and would look for each.
In Australia, you just need parent's permission. Oh how nice that was back then. (Y/N) remembered how he got tipsy on one of his birthdays at the time. It was lit and (Y/N) loved it. Of course, he wouldn't drink as if he is an alcoholic.
He would only drink in company of others and that would be a glass tops. Not even a second one. He can't get embarrassed in public now. But there was a slight problem now too.
His family is the biggest problem. Well, some of them are, not all of them are the problem.
Jason is amazing when it came to drinking. The two would sometimes drink together and it was so fun. (Y/N) didn't like to drink something like a shot. He would like to savor the flavor of the drink, whether or not it was some wine or scotch.
Or even some votka.
You don't just drink it, you savor it. And that's what he does every time he drinks with Jason. Sometimes there are times when they just drink in silence, enjoying the company. That usually meant that sharing a bottle something between them two.
Sometimes it was just quiet chatter in between them. It was funny and Jason was the supplier for them both. In return, he got 5 bucks from (Y/N) for his efforts.
It's not easy to hide anything in this household. Everyone was trained to observe and it was just... Sometimes it gets to you and you try hard to hide things.
Damian is the one who doesn't care, but would advise (Y/N) not to drink it. Damian is only thinking about his self awareness and his cognitive thinking in some situations.
Damian is just like Bruce, can't drink for the life of him. Not that he wants to anyway. It's not good for your awareness and Damian always had to be vigilant and observant.
And besides, Damian likes (Y/N) and he just wants to make sure that he is okay. He also likes (Y/N)'s accent a lot. And considering that (Y/N) is not a vigilante and despite the training, (Y/N) is a cinnamon roll according to Damian.
Dick was the one who was against it completely. He didn't like it, he hated it and he wanted (Y/N) to stop drinking. He remembers nearly having a heart attack when he saw (Y/N) drinking for the first time, ever so nonchalantly.
He never ran so fast to get the glass out of (Y/N)'s hands. He was so confused at (Y/N)'s blank look and a simple what. It seems that the concept of drinking below the age of 21 is a foreign thing, something unheard of.
And that's when he got vigilant with (Y/N). It made (Y/N) sigh every time he saw Dick lurking somewhere, watching him. It made his insane and that's how he got better with hiding alcohol.
(Y/N) thought that drinking below 21 in America is like being an alcoholic.
Tim didn't have a say in anything in regards to this matter at all. He was addicted to coffee and he is the one who needs to kind of let go of it. So much caffeine is not healthy at all.
An occasional drink is fine. So much cups of coffee are not.
The two just shrugged towards one another in passing, (Y/N) with some alcohol and Tim with his coffee. They didn't even say anything to each other at this point. Just a nod or a shrug of their shoulders.
That was more than enough.
Now Bruce... Well, he knew that Australia has different laws and that drinking there is something that's more lenient. In America, unless you turn 21 you are, in (Y/N)'s mind, you are really missing in life.
The first time Bruce saw (Y/N) drink he paled and tried to get it away from him, but then asked him about the customs regarding the drinking in Australia.
(Y/N) explained it to him and Bruce advised him not to drink. Well, Bruce started hiding the alcohol in the house. Nobody really drank so it wasn't a difficult thing to hide. However, he knew that Jason is a supplier.
So he had to keep an eye out.
And Alfred? Oh boy, that man hates when (Y/N) drinks. He doesn't care about traditions in Australia. He spent some time in Australia and while he loved the Aussies and the way they drank, he didn't like it when his grandson did.
(Y/N) knew that he had to evade (Y/N) with everything in him. Jason hid the alcohol in his room, knowing that Alfred rarely goes into his room and (Y/N) and Jason agreed to it.
The last time when (Y/N) got caught by Alfred, a shoe went flying past his head. There was yelling and Alfred threatened with something bigger. (Y/N) managed to duck just in time to get in his room where Jason was waiting.

"Please take a seat, Miss Wayne," Alfred suggests as he pulls out a chair directly center of the long black cherry wood table. Your father sits at the opposite end of the room at the head of the table, while a smaller black-haired child sits with his back to the kitchen doors. There's one other person who sits directly across the table from where Alfred stands behind the chair meant for you.
"Are you serious? We really have to do this today of all days?" The child whines.
"I thought I told you no technology at the table this morning, Tim," Your father tells the person you're meant to sit across from. Ipad propped up on the table beside his plate, the teenage boy's grayish-blue eyes remain on the screen for a few moments as he shovels forkfuls of eggs into his mouth. In a tacit conversation, they make eye contact for a moment before he flips the cover back over the device and shoves it into the backpack by his feet. "Thank you.”
"You know, Bruce, I really need to get this essay done by this afternoon.” Tim—as you now know—explains.
"Oh? And what's it on?" Always wanting to get more involved in the kids' lives, Bruce attempts some sort of civil conversation other than indulging the begrudging eye-roll Damian throws him from across the table.
"It's on-" Tim begins to explain.
"You're really making us eat breakfast all together at-" Damian interjects.
"-the table like the nice, loving family we are? Pssh, you're lucky everyone's actually here this morning!" Dick cuts Damian off in an attempt to dissuade the boy's frustrations and some of his, perhaps just, points. Walking over to his chair he pulls it out enough to plop down.
"Everyone's coming?! Just for her?!" Damian, as you now know, complains.
"I'm afraid Stephanie has a doctor’s appointment, and Jason is... well," Bruce doesn't finish his explanation as he glances around the table.
"Jason," Dick defends, even if he's still somewhat suspicious of the man's current motives. "You'll meet them later, I'm sure," he tosses toward you as he sits at his chair between Tim and Damian still tying his tie.
"Why are you even here? Don't you have work? It's a Tuesday!" Damian chastizes Dick.
"Well if you must know, I have a few suspects I need to bring in for interviews today. They're extraditing a few people since the uptick last week."
"But I thought that-" A look from Dick makes Damian's thoughts linger in the air for a moment as he cuts himself off. Right. Next subject.
"I'm a detective over in Bludhaven," he explains to you, "Luckily I don't live here anymore, so... hopefully that lessens the overwhelming sense of a constant presence of people," he jokes in an attempt to lighten the mood.
With a nod, you finally reach for your fork. It’d been bad enough that it seems more and more people are continuing to engage you when really, it’s been hell enough to process all the transitions currently taking place in your life. While it’s nice in some sense that you’d have breakfast with your Mom on school days like this, having someone cook for you, let alone push in your chair is… well… strange.
“Hello? He’s talking to you,” the sassy child spits at you, garnering your attention. Eyes flitting from him to the person sitting across from you beside Tim, you offer what you can in an attempted smile. It comes across more as a grimace than anything. The Detective politely calls your name, finally tightening his tie as he finishes dressing.
“It’s okay, I get it. This is all a lot. I asked if you ate breakfast with your—“ he spares a quick glance at your Father before it settles back on you, “—Mom, often before everything?”
Though he smiles and has a jovial and pleasant attitude, you can’t bring yourself to really return the favor. While he’s extending an olive branch of friendship, one you’d usually take up, you’re unable to. “Yeah. Nothing like this though,” you mutter, voice surprising even you with the quiet quality to it.
While the rest of breakfast is filled with questions and trivial conversation, you feel off, with a weary sense of the world. It’s almost like everything is a dream. Once you’ve finished your food, your eyes raise to take in the vase of flowers and candles on either side of it in their ornate silver holders sitting in the middle of the table. “Can I be excused?” Suddenly turned toward your Father, you await his hesitant permission before getting up and heading back to the room they’ve deemed yours just last night.
“She didn’t even look up at me when she answered any of my questions. That’s not good,” Dick points out. There's a hint of concern in his voice as he eyes Bruce.
“She’s probably still grieving her Mom. It only happened yesterday,” Tim proposes with a shrug as he looks up at Dick, who sits to his left.
“Shit,” Dick whispers.
“Do we even know how it happened?” Damian asks from the end of the table, hands clasped in front of himself like a miniature businessman.
“Damian,” Tim whispers with hostility, eyeing him for the inappropriate nature of his comment. Though he’s also curious, as it seems Dick is too, as they all look toward Bruce.
“What? I mean, her Mom dies and suddenly she’s a Wayne? No way,” Damian speaks with confidence.
With a clearing of his throat, Bruce stands. “It’s true. I… hadn’t-“ he begins, though hesitates as this wasn’t really a conversation he’d wanted to have with his teenage son of all people. “It wasn’t planned. It was a one-time thing back when I was a little more reckless with keeping up my image.”
“So during your Party Bruce years? Oh my god,” Dick quietly laughs with incredulity. He’d known about it, sure, that ‘phase’ of his Father… yet he hadn’t anticipated him to be that reckless. The look of guilt upon Bruce’s face is all it takes for them to know it’s true.
“I did the math, I looked into her mother’s history, and… it all adds up. I wouldn’t have taken custody of her yesterday if I wasn’t certain.”
“So she was an accident? Ha!” Damian laughs as if he wasn’t technically an accident on his Father’s behalf as well.
“Hey! I will not hear any jokes or have any information imparted on her with dislike. It wasn’t her fault, and I won’t see anything but acceptance and welcoming from you three, will I?” His stern voice sends chills down their spines to some degree. While Bruce doesn’t often take up a fatherly role in terms other than the awful jokes and rare wistful advice, this is a side none of them have ever gotten quite used to.
“Fine. But I’m not changing my entire life around for her. Jon is still coming over after school,” Damian announces with a click of his tongue and a cross of his arms over his chest.
“Good. Now I know this absolutely will not leave the room but I looked into her cause of death last night and it was a car crash.” With that, Bruce leaves the table.
“Sometimes things are just life, I guess,” Dick thinks aloud, still processing the information.
How cool is it that this room has a window seat? Absolutely awesome! Unfortunately, that’s not something you can fully appreciate as everything has already started to feel numb. They’d explained at the hospital that it’d been a car crash. You know the number of stitches they’d placed, the degree of burns she’d taken as they attempted several grafts to save her life… yet it wasn’t enough. There was nothing they could do. A frown overtakes your expression as a pinch of immense sadness pricks your heart.
“I’ll do it-“ you hear his voice from outside the door, “-I’m sure.” With three knocks and no response, it creaks open. Unbothered to check who it is, you watch as the rain droplets roll down the leaves on the tree outside your window and slowly drip toward the ground below. He clears his throat and shifts on his feet before speaking. “I really hate to do this to you. I know everyone processes things in their own time, but I’ve got to make arrangements on top of work today and so the best thing I can think to do is get you into a routine.” A look in his direction is all it takes; uniform neatly folded in his extended arms, your Father presents it to you with a sympathetic look on his face.
“What about Melville High?” The question leaves your lips, and all he can think is that you’re too innocent for this world. He doesn't even know you, but already the world has taken too much from you.
“It’s… too far, I’m afraid. Gotham Metro Academy is where Damian goes, and it has a lot of better opportunities from what I’ve seen. I’m sure you’ll like it once you get settled in.”
It isn’t the end of the conversation. While you’re barely responding, he imparts as much wisdom and comfort as he’s able, but it goes in one ear and out the other. All too soon you find yourself running your hands over the lapels of your navy uniform’s blazer. A prep school with uniforms was something you’d never imagined in your future—in fact—it’d been far from it! Growing up with enough money to keep you comfortable was fine, but prep school was never in the cards. You and your Mom knew that. Without too much thought to your hair and any accessories or makeup, Alfred is rushing you downstairs and into the awaiting Rolls Royce.
“Had you ever been to Gotham prior, Miss?” Alfred asks from the driver’s seat as you pull away from the infamous Wayne Manor. It looks much more opulent and welcoming in the daylight, yet it still has an intimidating air of aristocracy to you.
“Um… just once, a long time ago.” It hurts your chest to think about; there’d been a weekend you’d gone with your Mom a few years back when she’d wanted to show you all the sights. From the shows to the Financial District, to the historical sights and monuments, it’d been a weekend to remember, truly. If memory serves you right, you even still have a sweater and baseball cap tucked away somewhere from that trip.
Expecting some sort of snarky remark from the child you’ve deduced is Damian, you finally take him in. Sure, everyone’s heard of him. He’s a celebrity for what it’s worth: ‘Bruce Wayne’s Secret Son’ the headlines read. It was national news at the time, his Mom still remaining a mystery. His skin is darker than yours, and while his eyes are a striking green, you can’t deny that he has a resemblance to your Father. Neither can you deny your resemblance, either, really.
“What?” Damian finally bites. With a quiet, automatic ‘sorry’ and a shift of your eyes out the window and away from the kid on his phone, you can’t help but think about it.
Was Bruce Wayne really as much of a playboy as the media made him out to be? Yours and Damian’s mom would surely proffer the confirmation. Yet, having met the legendary man behind the technological empire, you aren’t sure he really seems the type. As much as your mother tried to keep you from boys and men, you’d met more than your fair share of assholes. Womanizers, scumbags, misogynists; no matter the differences in look or personality, there were always a few similarities they’d have in common, usually in their speech, behavior, or beliefs.
Nevertheless, it’s odd that you’ve been able to place the term ‘Father’ in his grasp so easily. Your mother had feigned a forgetful memory oftentimes when you’d ask during your childhood. Only offering the slightest of details and assuring you that he’d left the both of you as a baby. It was only as you grew that she eventually let you know that whatever relationship the two of them had, it wasn’t as serious as one would expect of a mother and father. She’d never named him, exactly, having always told you it wasn’t important. He wasn’t worth searching for, seeking out, begging for some answer you surely didn’t want to hear. Why? Why did you leave us? Why don’t you care about us? It was all a waste of time. That much, you knew. Never, even in your dreams would you imagine it’d be the Bruce Wayne.
Before you know it, the trees and streetlights are turning into buildings and stoplights. While you're nervous about going to a new school, it also provides a bit of excitement at the thought of reinventing yourself and making new friends. Surely with the funding from Wayne Enterprises, it'll have more clubs, activities, and maybe more sports, too. You'd always wanted to try out for sports or even be on the varsity squads if possible. As the car slows along the street, Alfred meets your anxious eyes in the rearview mirror.
"Damian, I expect you'll be there if Miss--" he says your name, "--needs anything. I'm going to park the car and escort you inside, as there happens to be a bit of preliminary paperwork your Father has requested I accompany you to fill out."
Surprisingly, Damian doesn't refute Alfred's sentiment, though as he parks the car, your half-brother hastily exits, headphones still in his ears as he scrolls through his phone. A quiet 'see ya later' is heard before the door slams shut. Soon enough you've filled out the registration forms and are given a schedule and tour. Alfred offers you a courteous nod and a lingering hand on your shoulder before he departs for the day. "I'll be here to pick you up when the school lets out. You can do this, Miss," he assures with a warm smile.
It was somewhat embarrassing that you'd had to interrupt class to join in on eleventh-grade, American Literature, yet upon introduction, it doesn't go past your observation that many of the kids start whispering to one another. While a few people attempt to talk to you, for the most part, you feel overwhelmed with all the information and the way the lesson quickly continues. Trying to catch up and take everything in, it all feels like too much, and the unintentional tendency to disassociate naturally begins to happen. You zone out for most of the classes, the day passing in whirlwinds and sympathetic smiles from the teachers.
When school lets out, you find Alfred exactly where he'd parked this morning in front of the school. Leant against the car with his hands clasped in front of him, you begin making your way down the steps to meet him. Two boys quickly pass you, both laughing as they playfully smack one another's arms and talk in hushed voices. As you approach the car you realize it's Damian and some boy. He has friends? Who would be friends with him? He seemed so rude earlier, you can't help but think. Maybe he's just upset because you came along.
"Who's this?" The boy in the blue jacket asks as he watches you join Alfred.
"Mister Kent," Alfred greets the boy, "I take it you'll be joining us tonight?" When the boy flashes a white smile full of bright teeth up at him with an eager nod, you take it this is a family friend.
"She's... apparently Dad's daughter," Damian reveals, eyes slicing across the space till the intimidating green orbs land on you. "Don't mind her. I planned a few things we could maybe do when we get to the Manor! I just got Mario Kart Ten and it's supposed to have a bunch of new maps and characters!"
Upon Alfred opening the car door, all three of you slide into the vehicle, the boy separating you and Damian in the backseat. "So... your sister, you mean," He laughs. Despite what he'd said about ignoring you, the boy turns his smile your way with an extension of his hand. "I'm Jon! Damian's best friend. I actually go to West Reeves but I got out early so I could catch a ride to your house. You are..?"
Revealing your name, he repeats it with a fondness as you shake his hand. "I don't know that I'd say best," Damian groans with a roll of his eyes.
"Oh hush it! Yes, you would," Jon argues, nudging your half-brother with his body as the two laugh.
"How was your first day, Miss? Did it go alright?" Alfred asks in the rearview mirror before pulling off the school's sidewalk and onto the street.
While this question was unexpected, you can't answer it. Was today good? You're unsure that any sort of sentiment could capture what today was like, truly. With your mother's death, the move, the new school, new people, and the luxury of it all... you feel unable to describe it all in one simple response. Sufficing for a nod, you purse your lips before opting for a quiet "Thanks." If nothing else, you can't deny that this old man has been kind to you since the moment you arrived. It seems he cares, but... isn't that also his job? You're not sure how butlers work, exactly, but surely that detail encompasses part of his job description, you think.
With the car parked in the driveway, you all exit the vehicle and head inside. Alfred asks if anyone wants a snack, however, you shake your head and point upstairs, signaling your destination.
You aren't sure what comes over you, a wave of hurt--sadness-angst, pain... there are endless synonyms for whatever it is that washes over you. It winds up there, lingering in your chest like a weight you hadn't realized was weighing your shoulders down. Maybe it was the attention, the comments, the questions, the energy it took to put on a 'fine' facade, yet it all finally comes crumbling down. With the click of the lock on the door, you make the final steps toward your unfamiliar bed. Letting the backpack fall from your shoulders haphazardly on the carpeted floors, you flop onto the bed face first, chest hitting the plush comforter before the rest of your body follows, the rebound sending your body bouncing slightly. Face screwing up into one of pain, you do your best to hold it back, and you're not quite sure why. No one's around, no one cares, so why won't you let yourself cry? Would that make it all real? Would that mean you're accepting her death? That she's really gone? That you're letting go? Moving on with your life? Thoughts of guilt consume you as you feel as though you should've known, you should've called her, said something, asked her to pick you up that day. Anything would've changed the chain in the course of events, right?
It's then, with the realization of the butterfly effect that a sob wracks your chest and tears stream down your cheeks. Like rapid fire, the sting of hot, salty tears cascade down your skin leaving streaks of mascara in its wake, you're sure. Screaming into your pillow, you can't help but struggle to breathe as you're not sure what to do. How do you move on from this? Where do you begin? What's left in your life, really? What does anything matter if she's gone? Your mom? The only person who's been there through your whole life from the beginning till... well, now. She was your best friend, your confidant, your partner in crime, your... everything. At the end of every day you always knew you'd have her to go back to. Never has the fear of being alone crossed your mind until right this second. Now you understand why so many people commit suicide each year. If their pain feels anything like this, then you understand. All you can think, wish, and mentally pray for is this to stop. For the tears to stop falling and your breath to stop coming in quick bursts of panicked, hyperventilating heaves. Snot runs down your lips and it's hard to see with the blurriness of the tears in your eyes.
After a while, the crying eventually dies down and you lie--wishfully--lifeless on your bed. A small hand towel you'd grabbed from the bathroom is folded under your face where the tears would fall and you've folded it over the few times you'd blown your mucousy snot into it. Silence consumes the room, and you've found yourself simply staring up at the ceiling for what feels like hours. Constantly caught in your thoughts, between crying and being eerily silent, you're unsure if all this was destined to happen. Or maybe it was supposed to come out sooner. Maybe it's only because you've been pushing everything down into a deep dark place that only feels safe for you to express once you're absolutely sure you're alone.
In the midst of a quiet moment, your eyes and throat sore, head throbbing, there's a knock at the door. "Dinner will be served in just a few minutes." It's Alfred. You hope he hadn't heard your crying, though if he had... what can you really do? Nothing... just like everything else in life. You can't do anything.
With a quick splash of cold water on your face, hands combing your hair down, and making sure you look as presentable as possible, you're ready. Aside from the slight red tinge that lingers around your eyes and the dark circles beneath them that are impossible to get rid of, you head downstairs. While you're sat in the same spot as this morning, you're joined by many more people this time. Bruce and Damian both sit at the ends of the table again, Tim sits across from you, though this time he's flanked by the Detective, and another man you don't recognize. He has a white stripe in his hair and a longer face than the others, but it suits him with his angular features. On your right sits a very tall and broad man clad in a business suit and glasses. Past him, sits Jon--who you'd met this afternoon--and across from him there's one more person who makes the table uneven in terms of people. It's a blonde girl, with an enticing sparkle in her eyes and a charming smile from what you can see from the other side of the table.
"This is my good friend, and Jon's dad, Clark Kent," Bruce introduces, gesturing to the man beside you. Said man holds out his big hand and offers a friendly smile.
"Pleasure to meet you," he recites your name and you reciprocate the handshake. It's good to know that not everyone in Damian's association is a complete asshole, you suppose.
"Nice to meet you too," you respond quietly. With the meal served, everyone dives into eating, leaving you a little unsettled. While your mother had come from a very religious upbringing, she hadn't forced it on you. Yet, you'd still find yourself and your mom praying before dinner to whatever God or higher deity might exist. In a way, it was more to give thanks each day for being alive and having food on the table. Sometimes it was a conversation starter when someone would mention what their day entailed, the good things they'd seen, or maybe the bad things they'd ask for protection from. Nevertheless, it's clear that this family operates differently; digging your fork into the fancy black-peppered pork roast, you use your knife to slice a piece off for yourself. Not in the mood to talk at the moment, you simply listen to what everyone's discussing.
With the lack of response they'd gotten from you, Bruce opts for talking to Clark about business and how things have been. Dick and Tim fill in the mysterious man on the little they knew of you. The blonde girl talks with the younger boys at the end of the table at moments but also butts into the other conversation among the young adults diagonally across the table from you. Stabbing multiple string green beans onto your fork, you don't make eye contact with anyone as you simply try to get through this dinner. Maybe then you can go upstairs and try to relax away from everyone.
"-something we shouldn't really talk about too much, but I can guess the funeral will be by the end of next week with all the arrangements I made today," Bruce speaks to Clark.
"Wait, what?" Your voice is quiet, only drawing the attention of those sitting closest to you. Butting into their conversation, you raise your eyes to meet your Father's surprised blue eyes.
"The funeral will be at the end of next week, I'm presuming. It'll take a little while with all the arrangements," he repeats. Though he seems hesitant, he doesn't keep himself from speaking it again. After all, he's someone who stands behind his actions.
"What? Why?" Your fork clanks against the chinaware, lips parted in shock as you dropped it. "You made the arrangements without me?"
"Yes. It was important that you go to school and it was all right there in the will." Forkful of mashed potatoes lingering in the air as his blue eyes bore into yours, you find your breath beginning to rise and fall at a faster rate.
Of course, none of them know your buttons and what it looks like once they've been pressed, but if your mother was here right now, she'd know. With a screech of the chair being pushed back hastily and a quiet slam of your palms on the table to stand, you're livid. "Why would you do that? How could you do that?!" Hands shaking, you begin to gesticulate, any former semblance of masked placation now fallen. All eyes are transfixed on your figure. "She's my mother! Mine! You don't even know her- I do! I know what she would've wanted, and this isn't it. What, just because your name was on my birth certificate that means you get to take over my life? You, who doesn't even know anything about me, and yet you act like we're best friends! Your children call you 'Bruce' and you have no problem with it! You don't get to just come into my life and fuck everything up! You sleep with her once, what? Sixteen years ago and now you come in and take everything?" A wry laugh leaves your lips, "Well, more for you, I guess! Did you ever stop to think that there's a reason I had no idea who you were? Let alone, why she never told me? She never once asked for your money or your help, and now I'm just here. All my stuff? Gone. All my friends and family? Gone, a-"
"-We can go get your-" The Detective begins.
"-Oh, shut up! You really think anyone wants to hear what you have to say? You're adopted, you're not even related to me! You don't know me. None of you do! The only good thing about this is I don't have to put up with being interrogated by the BPD every goddamn time I walk down the halls of school. But I'd at least take that over never seeing my friends again!"
"-What do you mean?" He follows up, commenting over you. Everyone else looks around the table silently, taken aback by what they're witnessing.
"You want to 'Bring Justice to Bludhaven', I guess, when everyone already knows what happened to Perdy Chapman! Everyone except the BPD, I guess!"
"How dare you?! You can't speak to my brother like that, you-"
"Finally! The only person I'm actually related to here. My half-brother, the mysterious 'Wayne Boy' who doesn't have a mom! You have no fucking empathy for me, you've been giving me shit all day! And yet you're the only person I would've expected to actually give a damn! So sit your ass down, pendejo twerp!"
Without asking for permission you storm out of the dining room and through the living room toward the staircase.
"I'm guessing you're done with your dinner?"
The voice stops you in your tracks, hand on the banister, you let out a loud sigh, shoulders falling before you try to maintain a jovial demeanor when turning to him. "I don't need you to do anything for me, Alfred. I think it's fucking ridiculous to have a servant when it's the twenty-first century, for crying out loud!"
"It's my job. I assure you he pays me, if that makes it any better," Alfred speaks in a calm tone, unfazed by your words or behavior.
"Great! Well, I still don't need you doing things for me that I can do myself. Thank you, though," while the words come out through tense, grit-together teeth, you turn and head upstairs. It doesn't take long to get to your backpack, slinging it over your shoulders. Luckily, this was the one thing you knew you could do with the advantages of not only your room but a backyard. Opening the window, you climb out onto the tree branch a few feet away.
Soon enough, you're on solid ground, out of the boundaries and gate of Wayne Manor. With a heaving chest and shaky hands, you speedwalk down the road toward where you know the bridge will be heading into Bludhaven from the transfer point on the Eastern Seaboard. This time for whatever reason, you can't bring yourself to cry. Maybe all the tears had already flooded from your body this evening, but nothing emanates from your tear ducts. Eyeing the blood that's already starting to dry on your palms from the splinters and the last little drop you'd had to take from the tree, you scraped your palm.
It'd been silent upon your departure from the dining room. Bruce insisted that everyone return to eating, that everything was fine, and that this wasn't unexpected. While things returned normal for the most part, Jason excused himself with a look toward his father. It wasn't until an alarm rang from Bruce's phone that he groaned and pulled it out only to find the surveillance outside capturing your figure leaving the premises. Announcing what the 'emergency' was, at everyone's persistence, Jon ran out of the room before Bruce could elect Clark to go check where you were headed.
It's a lone road, cypress trees lining it and gravel-filled sides. With it only being garnered by private property of the elite, and no real intersections for miles, no cars pass in either direction. As the sound of a faraway motorcycle approaches, you don't let it deter you. It'll be at least an hour or more before any of them realize you've left the property. They all think you're just upstairs crying to yourself, most likely. Rage still swirls in your gut, however, it's drained somewhat, being replaced by the determination to get home. A billionaire, his family, servants, and even a few splinters won't stop you. It doesn't strike you as odd that the sound of the nearing motorcycle slows; after all, not many people hitchhike on this road, you're guessing, and with the speed limit being higher in this area.
Jon had been faster, intrigued for some reason--his justification upon later questioning--to find out where you were going. Clark trails behind him, neither of them bothering to change clothes as they fly above the closest road, trailing you from a distance silently. It's only when they spot the motorcyclist approaching you that they hold their position.
"Where do you think you're going?" The voice is unfamiliar. While being catcalled isn't a stranger to you, it's still annoying that it'll happen in the middle of fucking nowhere. Ignoring the motorcycle that now stalls to your left, you continue walking with determination, eyes ahead and fists wrapped around each strap of your backpack upon your stiff shoulders. "Really? You're gonna ignore me and play it that way? Get on the motorcycle," the man calls your nickname, which elicits a reaction from you.
Eyes widening and lips parting, and eyebrows shooting upward, you finally look at the man. You don't remember his name, but he'd been sitting at the table across from you between Tim and that Detective. Expression immediately turning into one of anger, your jaw setting, you feel reinspired to make your way to Bludhaven. "I'm not going back! I can't," you argue, "plus I don't even know you. Why would I go with you?!"
A chuckle leaves his lips and you hear the shifting of plastic before the motorcycle revs in a way that elicits an automatic jump from your body. The motorcycle speeds a few feet down the road before it does a loop and skirts into a stopped position just a few feet in front of you. Legs on either side of the vehicle, the man flicks the visor of his helmet back up and reaches into the back compartment, producing another. Before you have time to react, he throws the helmet your way. Hands instinctively reach out to catch it instead of letting yourself get hit with the speed of it. You wince; it pushes the splinters further into your palm. You come to a standstill a few feet away from him as you lift the helmet slowly only to see the blood starting to pool around them again.
"I'm Jason," he reveals, "I don't know where you plan to go, running away like this, but you don't think the old man will notice you're gone sooner than later? What's your plan then?"
Irritation and a desperate anger linger in your chest as your eyes finally raise to meet his. "Well, Jason, it's none of your business! Regardless, it doesn't matter. You can't stop me." Approaching him, you're about to shove the helmet in his hands when he raises one of his own, palm facing you.
"Truce? Look, I know you don't know me, but I was like you. I grew up in Crime Alley and had to steal tires for a living. I tried to steal the-" he stops himself, another chuckle escaping his lips, "the old man's, and that's how we met. I get it... it's not easy, and, no one expects you to just go along with everything, alright? If you're thinking about going home, well, that'll take what-? Hours? You really want to walk for hours to... where are you from, again? Bludhaven? What part?"
"Canaveron District, yeah," you respond gruffly, some of the tension leaving your shoulders.
"You won't get there for another three hours walking, at best. If you just want to get your things, well, I can take you there. But we'd have to get everyone else-"
"No! no, I don't want-"
"-If you let me finish," he warns, "I was going to say get the others to help tomorrow or this weekend, we can get the rest. Alright? Just essentials, and I bring you right back here. Got it?" His eyes search yours for a moment before he adds, "That's the best I can do for you, kid. Otherwise, I've gotta drag you back to the Manor kicking and screaming, which I really don't want to do."
"He sent you?" You weren't too surprised, only that if anyone was coming, you figured it would've been Bruce, himself. It's only when Jason notices you looking around and contemplating your decision that he cocks his head toward the Manor, signaling the Kents to leave. He's got this.
"No. I came, because... unlike those other dicks, I actually know what it's like to come from, well, somewhere that's not the greatest," he admits, a look of sympathy and understanding in his eyes.
"And this isn't some scam? You just tell me this, get me on the bike, and then take me back to the White House?" This elicits a laugh from the man, and he runs a gloved hand through his black and white hair.
"Look, I don't know how much they've mentioned about me, but... let's just say I'm not exactly in Bruce's good favor if you know what I mean." Reading the look on your face, he expands. "I'm not exactly the goody-two-shoes of the family. If you want your stuff, I'll take you, but only because I know he wouldn't do that."
"Why?" Standing in silence, the two of you search one another's eyes for any sense of understanding. It's tacit, the question that you both know you were really asking, yet he doesn't make you voice it: why would you do this for me?
"Because I know what it's like to have everything taken from you." A sigh leaves his lips, and you can tell simply from his stance and demeanor that this man has been through much more than he's letting on. "If you wanna do this, we should get going. I can't be out too late tonight. You coming? Or should I call the old man and let him know what your plan is?" With a raised brow and eyes flicking toward the helmet in your hands and back to your eyes, he awaits an answer.
"I'm coming." Sliding the helmet over your head, you approach the vehicle. "Just... don't tell him, please! At least don't tell him for another... fifteen minutes?" The request elicits a questioning look before a smirk replaces it.
"Deal. Hang on," he requests. Shifting the bike to stand upright, he leans closer and reaches under your chin to clip a strap in place you hadn't noticed. He tightens it, checks with you, and then gets onto the bike. "You ever ridden a motorcycle?"
With a thick swallow, your eyes shift from his to the bike. Sliding over the seat, you're unsure where to place your feet, but Jason instructs you, making sure you're comfortable before you slide your arms around his waist and brace for takeoff. Visor flicked down and everything in place, he revs the motorcycle before speeding down the road.
Beneath the helmet, the ends of your hair tickle your arm as it whips through the air. Cool breeze wooshes past your body, arms able to feel the chill through the blazer, your legs gaining goosebumps through the exhilarating experience. Cypress trees turn into willows, which become more and more sparse as gates and brick walls slowly fade with the elitist properties into cemeteries and then into more forest before turning more industrial. As different plants and factories appear, so do the cars. Jason weaves in and out of traffic as he maneuvers his way down the highway and onto the bridge that winds around Gotham and finally goes into Bludhaven. The lights and sights passing this fast is intimidating at the thought of crashing, however, it's thrilling in a way you've also never experienced. Skyscrapers line the island, lights, signs, and monuments only add a sort of fascination and exuberant liveliness to it. As the Wayne Enterprises sign passes, you finally feel comfortable enough to remove one hand from Jason's side for a moment, long enough to flash a quick middle finger at the sign before fearfully grabbing onto his jacket again.
With a laugh and shake of his head, he removes a hand from the handlebar to flip a bird alongside her, eliciting what he thinks is a laugh. Nevertheless, he can feel the fear in her grip so he returns his hand to the handlebars and makes sure to keep his focus on the road. It's not likely they'd crash, not unless someone was out for him and knows his bike, and his civilian identity. Not that he goes too far out of his way to hide it, but it's not impossible. He's confident in his abilities, but considering they don't know each other the best, he doesn't do anything to further scare her.
As he draws nearer to the Canaveron District, he slows down enough for her to give him directions. Parking the bike outside the apartment complex she's identified, Jason helps her off the bike and stashes the helmets in the back. "Lead the way, little lady," he encourages.

my headcanon: the bat kids aren't actually that,, neutral,, to conspiracy theorists. they sorta despise them. not because they're "getting close to the truth" or whatever but because they're super invasive to their personal lives and trauma.
(more under the cut)
Damian is the most indifferent, especially when he's younger, because he doesn't have a great understanding of well,, what a personal life is if you get what I mean? constantly living in places where privacy is something you have to protect rather than a right (ra's al ghul, gotham's lime light) his main issue with conspiracy theorists was only when they're right or close to it and when he's little he has no idea why his family are so protective whenever a conspiracy talks about "where bruce found him" or theorise who he is. Aren't those just good questions to ask? as he grows up and learns what privacy means he probably becomes the most short tempered with conspiracy theories, especially if brought up to him face to face.
Tim surprisingly is also quite short tempered about conspiracy theorists, because he WAS one. He remembers being 11 and watching people question on message boards if dick became robin to fight his parent's killers and he HATES himself for it and he grew up and realised that was true and also was really insensitive to be speculative about. Ironically, it's also a reason he likes Bernard's conspiracies, because they're impersonal and (purposefully) stupid, like of course the robins are a series of robot clones funded by the shadow government, of course Bruce is batman's sugar daddy. He's also the only one stupid enough to argue with conspiracy theorists on social media, man's got a social media addiction and aggression issues that he will inflict on other people, including physically fighting a reporter who asked him about the theory that jason todd was red hood.
Dick is. used to it in a way? He sees it as an evolution of the gossip tabloids, just more intense and invasive. And as Bruce's first kid and the "heartthrob" of the Wayne family he was all too used to people speculating on his personal life and relationships. He likes to joke around sometimes and tease things (like joking about his celebrity crush on batgirl as a kid) but overall he's just over it a little bit. His real issue comes when people talk about family, he can roll with the punches when it comes to the link between himself and nightwing or speculation on batman and the first robin but the second someone brings up something like barbara and batgirl or anything about damian's past he is all too prepared to throw a fit. he was around was Tim fought that reporter and he actively didn't intervene.
Barbara has gotten used to looking into them after becoming oracle, making sure no one gets too close, looking for any supervillains (a lot of the rogues are lurkers or participants on conspiracy sites to no one's suprise) and it honestly affected her more than she'd like to believe. Yes, she's smart enough to know these people are just apathetic dingbats who don't understand why what they're seeing is hurtful, a lot of them have hero complexes or just believe being smart enough to think of a conspiracy makes them morally better but jesus, the way people talk about her gives her a headache. She's probably the 1st to end up ranting about conspiracy theorists if prompted because it gets so bad and she always has a new story to tell about something someone was saying about her, she's smart enough to not argue with these people but she sure as hell has ip tracked people who were talking too in-depth about certain sensitive subjects. she has drunkenly complained about how people piece together who is who every single day but no one even CONSIDERS her being oracle, people believe alfred is oracle before her and she is deservedly salty about it.
Duke. Oh god Duke. He's the newest to this whole thing and frankly it makes him very very anxious, he's fought villains and gained superpowers and jumped off many a moving vehicle unprompted but interacting with any aspect of the conspiracy mill makes him panic. He was kinda aware of it before getting fostered, mainly stuff he'd find on Wikipedia binges but he was always a bit uncomfortable with it but now people are making conspiracies about him and oh my god it's 10x worse. he hasn't used social media besides writing websites in months and it gives him a mini crisis whenever he gets tagged in a conspiracy post. for the past few weeks he's been writing an essay venting his frustrations to work it all out and if he ever posts it publically it may kill someone.
Cass and Steph are the most detached from it, Cass isn't on social media and Steph isn't considered attached to the bat family or wayne family that much so neither are forced to confront it all that often. Cass sees it as it is, an invasion of privacy while Steph actively trolls on conspiracy websites all the time, she loves falsifying evidence against what's actually true and making people believe it. One time she convinced people that batman was a robot clone of bruce wayne created by thomas wayne before his death to protect his son and the city when the time was right, or that batman's various sidekicks were alternate universe versions of him that he found.
Jason. Jason has the most complicated relationship with it, because he is the biggest conspiracy theory in Gotham. Well, Jason Todd-Wayne is at least. He can't help but separate himself from both the 15 year old who died in a warehouse being a hero and Bruce Wayne's younger son who perished after a heinous kidnapping by the joker. He spends a lot of time on conspiracy websites, threads about the connection between the three; Jason Todd, Red Hood, the 2nd Robin. Jason Todd being the 2nd robin is usually pretty easy to accept for people because they were both happy go lucky if a bit rough and tumble boys, red hood being either of the two is inconceivable for people, comments upon comments about how everything about them is different; they carry themselves different, speak different and in general are just two different people, there's more theories piling up that jason todd may be red robin than red hood and some even say nightwing. At the top of threads usually lie a pile of people disgusted at the mere mention of his name in the same context as red hood, or even speculating on his death and he fully agrees. It's disgusting to speculate on the death of a murdered child, even worse to imply he's a murderer himself and appealing to imply he'd carry his killer's name. Of course Jason Todd isn't red hood, what a putrid suggestion

"Things have been quiet Y/N, I'm not sure I like what I hear. Your uncle has heard less and less, and we don't even see you anymore. You haven't even heard the gossip Kitty has you have no idea! Oh my god! There is so much to tell you! Where to begin!"
Jubilee huffs monitoring her watch from her seat. I was not expecting a call from anyone much less my friends from home. According to Jubilee, David Alleyne decided to make a device to try and talk to me. He had been working in secret until the rest of my classmates found out. They must not have given him any peace since they found out.
"You know that the professor will give all of you grunt work for the next 3 months for this." I sigh heavily and rub at my temples. I hear someone grumble in the background, Jubilee smacks something that I can't see but the yelp is all too familiar.
"Is that Keller you just hit? I thought he was off-world when did he get back?" Jubilee opens her mouth only for a second before there is advanced movement on the image. When it stills, the blue-eyed black-haired menace of my class seems to be running down a hall—the device in hand.
"Hey Drek, you miss me?"
"Keller, you ether gonna get caught or hurt yourself." I sigh. "But yes, It's good to see you. And your ugly mug." He scoffs and then there is another loss of image with the picture. When it stabilizes, David comes into the image. Upset and red in the face.
"Y/N I'm sorry but we have to cut this short, someone is coming this way." With that the image fades and the Comm makes a beeping sound signaling the end of the call. I slump down in my chair and stare at the device. An old sense of longing fills my soul sinking into my heart. I bring my knees to my chest and start at the floor before me,
'I won't be here for much longer I just have to make it to my birthday. And I can be home again.'
An even heavier realization manifests in me, I would have to say goodbye. It's not like they'll let me live here. Not with my responsibilities and obligations there. Would I even be able to come back?
Nightmare, sensing my distress, curls up at my side and begins to purr. I stroke his fur and stare at the comm again. I sigh taking the Comm, placing it in my box, and shoving it back into the dark corner of my closet with the rest of the stuff I shouldn't worry about. I roll my sleeves up looking over the colorful scars. I think maybe I can pass them off as tattoos. I get ready in my room putting on my clothes for work. Nightmare follows me in and out of my room yowling at me to feed him before I go.
"Nightmare I just fed you," I say looking down at him while I open the door. "and I know for a fact you still have food in there."
I walk out and close the door behind me. When I turn to the hallway I bump into something. All I get is a snicker from above and arms around my middle.
"You really should be more careful about leaving your apartment, you never know who could be blocking your way out." I feel my face flush having been caught off guard and glare up at the green eyes that haven't even left me alone since we've met.
"Boy, I swear to all things good and holy, if you don't let me go to work to help that sweet old couple downstairs. I will end you."
Damian smirks down at me, moving sideways to let me through but not letting me go entirely. His hand seems to grip my wrist as I walk forward.
"Do you intend on leaving me today?"
"No."
"Don't you have anything at all to do?"
"Well, I plan on going to this little mom-and-pop coffee shop where this girl works. I've seen her sneak some of the lemon sugar cubes and snack on them during her shift. Funniest thing I've seen in a while." I purse my lips together and groan. "So I plan to sit on the bar stool on the far side of the counter and watch her like a hawk just in case she does it again and I can get it on Cammera to show you later."
"I would say you're a dick but that would be an insult to your brother." I may not be able to see it but I can feel his grin sear.
"Suppose I get him to join me."
"Then I'll send Nightmare to get your ankles, and groom your hair." I quickly turn around ruffling his already-styled hair and book it down the steps. My ears catch a 'hey!' in the distance behind me. I sign in and get to work. The green-eyed menace trails behind me, fixing his hair and sending me a glare. I purposely get to him last, leaning on the counter to take his order.
"How may I serve you today sir? Would you like a try at our D20 special? Or something else?"
"Tea, if you would be so kind."
"What kind of tea?"
"Black."
"What kind?" I reiterate. He glares at me, I know what he means and what he wants.
"Are you playing a game with me?" I grin at him.
"I'm not sure what you mean sir, I just want to know what order you want. I'm not familiar with our tea products. Perhaps I can recognize a name should it come up." He glares at me.
"Turkish, no sugar, glass cup."
I pull out my notepad and write up the order. I place the pot on the right template and start brewing his tea. I hand him the pot it comes with and the Turkish tea glass. I also handed him some of the tea biscuits we had.
"There you are sir, you'll be expected to pay the bill when you finish." He hums eyeing me above the rim of his cup. He says nothing. I go back to work taking in orders, helping Glen and Martha with the rest of the store, and a D&D game that was nearly too rowdy. Dick came in and nearly left without his coffee, I'm sure his brother shot him a glare that didn't help him remember. When my shift was over, and the shop was locked up, I hardly had enough time to punch in my card before I was pulled out the door.
"Where are you taking me?"
"Out."
"You could have told me you planned something on my break! I would have changed." He pulls me forward, till his arm pulls me close to him, resting on my shoulder. He pulls some shades out and a face mask pulling them up so his face is disguised.
"It doesn't matter to me, I just want to take a walk with you. No interruptions, just you and me." I raise my brow at him but shrug it off.
"You're being weird today, weirder than normal."
He shrugs this time, taking his time leading me to a destination on a rooftop not far from the coffee shop. I snort at the sight before me. A heated blanket, some snacks, and a projector screen sit on the graveled space of the roof.
"It's funny, I don't usually take you for a sap. But this is icing on the cake." I walk forward and look over the setup. "I'm confused at how you managed to keep this popcorn fresh." I look at him through the corner of my eye. "Had some help did you?"
He doesn't say anything and shrugs sitting on the blanket and turning on the projector. "Even if I did you would never get me to admit it."
Rolling my eyes I join him on the warm blanket wrapping some of it around my shoulders. My gaze falls to the sky behind the projector. The remnants of sunlight fade and the satellites just peak through enough in the night sky. The movie starts and its another obscure film in black and white. I feel a sense of unease feel my core. It's been so quiet. Damian's voice pulls me out of my thoughts.
"Is something wrong?"
"No! No...not really. It's just..." I fumble and stuff the feeling down. I lean onto his shoulder and hold his hand my eyes back on the screen. "I'm happy to be here with you that's all. It's thoughtful."
He plays with the ring on my finger, a huh coming out.
"You've been thinking about how nothing with the crow has happened since then right?"
"I mean that can't have been the final fight right? An old god possessed and hell-bent on blood?" He runs a hand through his hair, he's been thinking about it too.
"Let's just take this as a miracle and hope for the best. I promise you will be fine. I've made it my mission to see you back home." He takes my hand to his lips and kisses my ring finger. "I may not know or understand your whole story, what you've seen or what you've been through. But I will see you through this." He pulls me into him and wraps his arms and the blanket around me. "However there is one thing you should be worrying about."
I raise a brow at him and fold my arms across my chest.
"And what would that be?"
He smiles resting his head on mine, his arms laced tighter around me. His hair tickles my face as he stares into me.
"How you plan to escape me when I find you in your dimension and make you mine entirely."

Diplomacy of Chaos
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
pairing: Batfamily x Ghost!Originalcharacter!female
summary: a chaotic day for Bruce organize a mission.
warnings: none, i guess.
notes: Another test with my original character till i learn the settings here. Thanks for the feedbacks on the last post :), i promise ill get better on this.
Tumblr media
------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The day seemed to drag on and I couldn't tell if it was a good thing or a bad thing, in 1 hour I would have a meeting with Bruce, apparently we would decide which of us would take which part in the current big case that we were all working together.
The part that bothered me wasn't necessarily the division of the task but the meeting, all such events were extremely boring and easily taken as a relaxation session to get some more sleep by all of us in the Bat family.
I leaned my body against the back of the chair at one of the mansion's library desks, Damian was stretched out on one of the sofas reading some book that I had absolutely no interest in knowing what it was. I didn't even take off my patrol clothes when I arrived, I just came to seek some peace in the library, my luck was that Damian wasn't a difficult person to deal with in silence. Dick, Jason, and Tim were on patrol together, while Steph and Cass were in their rooms doing who knows what, they usually call me when our breaks coincide to throw a little party, but today, as far as I know, Cass had Patrol with Bruce and Steph were grounded for destroying the Hall of the house chasing Titus who had apparently stolen her ham sandwich.
The library door was flung open giving way to 3 male voices while one of them shoots in an unpretentious and proud way:
"Hey, I didn't kill anyone today!''
The animation present in the voice of who I deduced being obviously Jason was completely destroyed by Tim replying in an ironic way:
''What do you want for doing the bare minimun? a golden star?"
Jason shoots Tim a murderous gaze, prompting Dick to step in between the two while they still weren't trying to kill each other by knocking over bookshelves and rolling on the floor.
"What's the point of a library if the zoologic invades it? everything was chill while S and I were here"
The book in Damian's hands is slammed shut with a muffled clatter, while Dick's effort is rewarded by Jason and Tim pulling away in curses and middle fingers. They fight, but we all know they love each other, like every sibling loves each other.
''Hey S, How are things going so far? Bruce arrived?''
''Well... for now well, I have no idea if he is in the mansion, after I arrived I came immediately to the library, I needed some silence... I hate fireworks and bomb dealers.''
I put my hands on my temple lightly massaging it looking at Dick who seemed to have found my outburst of my solo patrol amusing.
Sometimes I really thought about burning the Ghost identity in the fire and living a normal life...with Jason maybe...
I sigh and grab the table in fear of falling when Jason pulls back my chair, how had he gotten there without me hearing him?! THIS BITCH!
''JASON! ARE YOU DUMB?! YOU SLUT!''
I get up from the chair quickly, turning to him while listening to his laughter at high volume along with the others and even Steph's who had just arrived. Sometimes I wanted to KILL Jason Todd.
I pull myself together, straightening my clothes and pulling my hood down again, taking a deep breath so I don't  chase after this man all over the house.
''Jason?''
''what, princess?''
''Do me a favor?''
''Anything princess''
I guess its better i make a note here saying that i HATE being called by 'princess' and he fucking knows that very well.
''Go to fucking hell''
I smile in a sweetly ironic and venomous way.
''I'll wait for you there sweetheart."
He winks provocatively and I pretend I don't see it for the sake of general security of the nation, I cross my arms impatiently finally seeing Steph already inside the room with a disgusted face as Duke and Cass enter and try to understand the reason for the chaos.
''EW, are you guys flirting in the murderous way you always do? disgusting.''
Steph scrunches up her nose, unfazed by the others' laughter or if she wants to bother looking at Jason and me.
''Father says he's going to have meetings on a schedule and he's always late and after I'm the one who has to 'revisit my priorities''
Damian complains rolling his eyes leaning against one of the bookshelves.
''I'll ask Alfred ground him, and then we won't have any more problems with meetings or appointments he makes up at the last minute.''
I suggest leaning on the table I was using as a footrest…before Jason scared me.
''Good luck, the chaos will be fun.''
Jay says suggestively arching his brow leaning on the same table next to me.
Everyone had already taken their positions in the library, it was always like that, somehow we always ended up in a single comfortable formation for everyone, and it wasn't even a matter of groups, it was simply places that made us more comfortable, more confident...  I dont know how to explain to be honest.
Finally Bruce appears through the door, looking surprised to see everyone in the same place before him, a sigh leaves his lips, that was the 'tired father of family Bruce Wayne' posture, and honestly... it was hillarious.
''Thanks for being here already guys, sorry for the delay, I was...busy.''
Whispers and whispers fill the room, and obviously giggles were just as much a part of it.
''I've already sorted out your role in the mission as a matter of saving time, and I'll pass the position to you now.''
Bruce ignores the fuss, and I cross my fingers that I get something decent this time, I didn't deserve to be in the van with Dick's dad Jokes again, I really like him but throw me to the wolves instead of making me listen to his jokes .
''Okay... whoever I say can leave the room so that I... don't get lost... in strategic order we start with who will gather the information until the day of the prom, Orphan, Cass this task is yours, and as we suspect that the traffic is intense Signal, Duke will be your partner''
Duke seems to be thrilled with the news internally while Cass is not so much, the two leave the room reasonably excited.
I can't help but think how easy this task would be for me, it was part of my solo work and always has been, but now we're a team so... it is what it is.
''In the second part of the operation we have the security infiltrators, we need to know what kind of weapon we're dealing with... and for that I want Tim, Red Robin and, Stephanie, Spoiler to take care of this, you can't blow the cover, you'll have the support of the building plant by Oracle.''
A high five echoes through the room as they jump hapilly out of the library, my leg is restless with the tension I felt for my role. Not diplomacy...
It's not that I didn't like it or didn't know it... it's just that this kind of game was usually the easiest to get rid of because it always ended up with the corrupt dead and my hands full of blood.
''Robin, Damian, you are responsible for defusing the situation if it gets out of hand.''
Damian nods simply and walks out the door making me even more anxious. Me, Dick and Jason in the same room, waiting for functions, reminded me of the good old days.
''Red Hood, Jason and Ghost, Sophia, you will maintain control over the negotiations infiltrated inside the party, will be responsible for not losing sight of the objects we want, and if necessary negotiate for it in a diplomatic way. while Dick and I will be responsible for guiding the situation the way we want it to happen.''
Before either of us can protest, Bruce simply turns and walks away leaving us both looking at each other in frustration.
''Can someone explain to me, in small words, why I'm being assigned to this diplomatic mission?"
Jason says facing the door and turns his gaze between me and Dick as if he's still trying to assimilate the position Bruce had given him, I don't even have an answer for myself, i definetely havent one for his problem...
''Don't panic, we're the oldest, it's natural that he trusts us more for that, besides, S is good at diplomacy Jaybird , don't worry''
''Why do people think im good at diplomacy? Does no one remember that time that i literally started a riot against Nightwing aka YOU  Dick, or the other time I started a fucking riot with a lot of blood against Riddler?!''
I ask genuinely curious drawing a sincere laugh from Jay and Dick, I can't help but accompany them laughing, we all knew we would handle it, but it was good to relax about that too.
''It's just details, I'm sure you'll make it, you are the perfect balance so that nothing out of control happens''
''Just to be sure, I think you should wear a red dress, just in case you want to do the slaughter thing... so it doesn't stain so much...''
Jay jokes getting a punch from Dick on the arm, which makes me laugh too, at least good humor wouldn't be lacking between my partner and me on this mission.
''Make sure you wear your red suit too Jay, I don't promise anything.''
I laugh purposefully evil right after bursting into laughter as I leave the library.
Would be tiring, but I was willing to bet on the fun we could get out of it. it was good to work alone, but having a team was better... and having a family was unparalleled.

Inspired by @miraculousmelodies and absolutely not based off of me
Happy birthday to Tim Drake! Have a short drabble in celebration.
Tim sighed annoyed as he walked into the room. Marinette looked up over the rim of her mug with a raised brow.
"What are you sighing about?" She asked before taking another sip of her caffeinated beverage.
He looked at her, she could have sworn she saw a glint of suspicion in his eyes before it was gone, and told her, "My favorite hoodie is gone. My red one."
Marinette set her cup down as she saw the disappointment on his face. She grabbed the extra cup of coffee she had made before the break room had run out of coffee grounds and held it out for him silently. Tim looked at her and a small smile crossed his features. She couldn't help but smile back slightly as he took it and took a sip.
"I'll find it eventually. Thanks Mari."
She gave him a nod and a wide smile. He walked behind her and pressed a gentle kiss to the top of her head and a soft hand to her shoulder before he left to go to his own office.
-----------
"Tt stop complaining."
That was the first thing Marinette heard when she entered her boyfriends house. She closed the door and peaked into the living room to see Damian sitting annoyed in the couch, leaning back with his arms crossed with a scowl while Tim was pacing the opposite side of the room looking as if he had run his hands through his hair multiple times out of stress.
"But this has to be more then coincidence!"
"Of course it is don't be stupid. They'll show up again. They always do."
"What's going on?" Marinette asked as she stepped in the room, slightly hesitant to do so.
Both heads snapped toward her, immediately relaxing when they saw her.
"Drake is being insufferable."
"AM NOT!" Tim yelled defensively, "Damian lost his only pair of fluffy socks. And it wasn't Titus or Alfred. Alfred said he hasn't seen them in the wash either."
"Huh."
"Its not a big deal," Damian rolled his eyes as he stood up, "its not like I wear them often. Just a slight inconvenience."
Marinette nodded as Damian walked past her out of the room. She walked over to her boyfriend. He looked down at her and gave her a pleasing look.
"I'm not crazy you know."
Marinette gave him a sweet smile and brushed the loose wisps of his hair that he'd let grow out a lot behind his ear, "of course not."
He gave her a relieved smile and embraced her.
-----------
"Hey have any of you seen my bracelets?" Dick inquired as he popped his head into the room.
Jason looked at him incredulously, "you wear bracelets?"
Dick shrugged and gave a grin, "something wrong with that?"
Marinette giggled from besides Jason, "Absolutely not. You wear what you want."
Dick gave her a big smile before his face grew a bit more serious, "anyway, any of you see it?"
Jason and Marinette looked to each other before turning back to him and shaking their heads in negative affirmation. Dick sighed.
"Ok thanks anyway."
He walked away leaving them once again to their reading. Jason immediately had his nose back in his book so Marinette followed suit. It was a while later that Jason said something again.
"If you see a pair of my suspenders, give them to me, yeah?"
-----------
Marinette huffed annoyed as Bruce stood in front of the tv. She just wanted to cuddle up with her boyfriend and watch a movie.
"Have either of you seen my tie?"
"No? Why would we have?"
Bruce's eye brows creased together, "Clothing just seems to be going missing a lot."
Tim nodded thoughtfully as he added his two cents, "I recently lost my suit jacket and my favorite pair of sweat pants still haven't returned from the wash."
Bruce nodded silently, as if lost in thought, and walked out the room with nothing else said.
"Hopefully it will all turn up soon," Marinette sighed, cuddling back into her boyfriends side.
"Yeah. Hopefully."
-----------
Marinette opened her closet. Today was an easy day. Tim was out, she didn't have to go to work, no one needed her. She just wanted to slip on something comfy and bake some treats.
She picked through her clothes and didn't see anything she wanted. Her foot hit something soft and she looked down to see a pile of clothes sitting at the bottom of her closet. She bent down and picket up a suit jacket, rubbing the fabric between her fingers as her eye brows creased together wondering how it got there.
"Wait...do I steal clothes?" She asked herself.
She dropped the jacket back into the pile of random clothes; bracelet, tie, suspenders, multiple hoodies, socks, and more. She stared at it for a moment more.
"...nah," She said as she closed the closet doors, grabbing a red hoodie that was lying on the floor and slipped it over her head and left the room for baking.

I am having ideas that I do not have the skills to make but consider Kimya dawson’s Fire but it’s the Bat fam! I need someone to teach me how to make AMVs or animatics or something.
Dick—Jason—Tim—Casandra—Damian—Together
It seemed like everyone I knew was dying (cut of young Jason and Wally looking back at him)
I looked in the mirror and I was on fire
Somebody yelled out "Hey, stop, drop, and roll!"
I said "That might save my skin, but it won't save my soul
That might save my skin, but it won't save my soul"
You swallow hard and you bottle it up
Try to pretend you're a half full cup
Believe what they're feeding, you're eating it up
While I'm reading books about how they're corrupt (Jason in shadows with his bag of severed heads)
I'm reading books about how they're corrupt
(Dick&jason together)
He says he's protecting us but he's a liar
I know deep down that it's down to the wire (Jason with the bomb)
My heart will stop if I put out the fire (dick killing the joker)
As long as I'm burning
I'll keep on yearning
To save the world
Not sure how but I'm learning (shot of nightwing and robin!jason on a rooftop together)
Since what they call the beginning of man
Blood has been shed for the rape of the land
They call it civilized, I call it crap
Our only hope is to look further back
(Cass&damian together)
Our only hope is to look further back
If we really want for this world to survive
We'll just take what we need to stay alive
It's a mistake to just take and not give
It's not true that we must murder to live
(Cass&damian together)
It's not true that we must murder to live
(Everyone but Tim together)
He says he's protecting us but he's a liar
I know deep down that it's down to the wire
My heart will stop if I put out the fire
As long as I'm burning
I'll keep on yearning
To save the world
Not sure how but I'm learning
And telling the truth the best way that I'm able
Placing my cards all face up on the table
It's okay to be scared, you don't have to act tough
Just Take all that pain and turn it into love
Take all that pain
(Jason&tim&damian together)
and turn it into love
(Everyone together)
And let your emotions be fuel to your flame
Being on fire will keep you awake
If somebody yells out "Hey, stop, drop, and roll!"
Say "That might save my skin, but it won't save my soul
That might save my skin, but it won't save my soul"

Soooo, I saw @dacrowsin 's reblog and tags on my other post and felt compelled to write this (is probably bad but I really loved the concept soooo)
------
"Ah, welcome, Master Conner." Alfred says, smoothly, opening the door.
"Hi, Alfred." Conner replies.
He feels a little awkward, stepping into the foyer, holding the plastic container.
Conner had learned to make apple pie with Ma Kent over the summer. It was… Nice. Baking soothes his nerves, and he had already been making the pie when he got the 'S.O.S' message from Damian, so he finished the pie in record time, not even allowing it to cool before he packaged it up and rushed over.
Conner's disturbed from his thoughts as Dick pokes his head out of the living room.
"Oh, hey Conner!" He chirps, with a smile. "Are you here for Tim?"
"Replacement's getting ready for a date with Bernard so whatever you had planned, cancel it!" Jason calls from somewhere past the door.
"Oh, uh, actually I'm-" Before he can reply, Conner's cut off by Tim, walking down the stairs.
He looks gorgeous, as always, but perhaps even more so, all dressed up like this, with his hair slicked back and the barest hint of a lip tint.
Conner tamps down the jealousy bubbling in his chest, then turns his attention back to Dick.
"I'm, uh, not here for Tim." He manages.
Dick raises an eyebrow, Jason finally rises to look out into the hall.
"Who else would you be here for?" Tim asks, with a soft laugh.
And that… That kind of hurts, but whatever, he knows Tim doesn't mean it that way.
His phone chimes from his back pocket.
Conner adjusts the pie to hold it in one hand and pulls out his phone the read the notification.
Damian: kon-el, you'd better be here soon, this tub of ice cream is almost empty and I'll surely hate myself tomorrow.
Conner sighs and shakes his head fondly.
As long as he's known Damian, the kid's had a flare for the dramatic.
"I'm here for Damian." Conner finally says.
Tim's eyebrows shoot up.
"Damian?" He asks.
"Damian." Conner replies.
Tim opens and closes his mouth for a moment, floundering for a response.
Conner pats him on the back as he passes him on the way up the stairs.
"Urgh, Damian, why didn't you tell me Tim was in the house?" Conner groans, flopping onto Damian's bed. "And getting ready for a date, too!"
Damian rolls over to face Conner with a sympathetic expression.
"I apologize, I was in the throes of my depression and neglected to mention it." He pauses, then continues. "Also, I didn't know, I haven't been out of my room all day."
Conner sighs.
"It's okay, not your fault, kiddo." He sits up and opens the plastic container, allowing the scent of the apple pie to permeate the air. "I don't think this pie's gonna eat itself, and I brought forks up."
Damian graces him with a tiny smile and sits up.
They don't cut the pie into slices, instead they just eat from the container, in silence.
Then, Conner asks,
"So you wanna tell me what happened?"
Damian scowls at him.
Conner doesn't budge, merely raises an eyebrow.
Finally, Damian relents, with a heavy sigh, as though he is so heavily put upon by Conner asking after his wellbeing.
He places his fork down on the plastic container and flops onto his back.
"Jon… Jon ditched me to go hang out with his boyfriend." Damian murmurs. "He left me on unopened for two days and then today I get 'sorry was busy with Jay'! He didn't even bother to spell everything correctly and put a singular w in the place of with!"
Conner makes a sympathetic expression and reaches out to pat Damian on the thigh.
"I'm sorry, kiddo. That sucks."
And is also extremely out of character for Jon. He would never ignore Damian for anything.
It kinda sucks to see the infamous supersons, who were always together, always, break apart because of a guy.
Before Jay, whenever Conner saw Damian, he was with Jon, and that was just… How things were.
Although, he supposes that the same could be said for him and Tim.
Damian sits back up with a huff and takes another bite of the pie, almost angrily.
Conner rests a hand against Damian's back and rubs soothing circles between his shoulder blades.
"Well," Conner says, with a small smile. "Clueless isn't going to watch itself, eh?"
Damian smiles back, reaching for the TV remote, to pull up the movie.
Things kinda suck right now, with both Conner and Damian feeling left behind, but maybe, just maybe, things would turn out okay.

two for one special
warnings: none :)
Jason peeled himself away from his stove, throwing a suspicious look at the kid sitting at his breakfast bar then his front door. Damian just shrugged, kicking his green combat boots faintly against the backing of his bar. Jason cringed, knowing that they would scuff. It wasn't that big of a deal, Robin had had a rough night and was seeking shelter from one Batman while Dick was in Blüdhaven tying up some loose ends.
Jason really didn't have the heart to tell the kid no to seeing Theo or anything else that night. He was more than a little put off by the knock on his door, though. It was somewhat settling to know that Bruce wouldn't have bothered to knock, instead, ever the dramatic, he would opt for crashing through Jason's new living room windows. He huffed an irritated sigh just thinking about it.
He threw open the door when he saw it was Steph. She was wringing her hands and had an almost frown tugging on her lips. Jason vaguely registered that she was wearing her Christmas present.
"Uh, hi." She started, taking a breath like she was about to go into way too much detail for Jason's liking. He held up his hand, cutting her off, "Let me guess, you're hiding from B, too?"
She hesitated, eyebrows coming together as she stared at Jason, "Yeah. And my mom. Do you mind if I crash here?"
"Guess I'm harboring two fugitives tonight," He muttered, before adding over his shoulder as he turned his attention back to his meal, "Welcome to the party, we're having green curry."
"What'd you do?" He asked, reducing the heat as he gently stirred everything while he added the coconut milk.
He could hear Steph figideting behind him, warring on her lip as her stool scrapped against his floors, "May have accidentally started a gang war."
He snorted.
Damian gave a short sniff next to her, watching Jason like a hawk to make sure it was really vegetarian. If Jason had enough energy, he might've been offended. Instead, he had chucked the empty box of vegetable broth at the brat's head and continued on. When he turned to chuck the coconut milk container in the trash he saw Steph side eyeing Dami.
"Why're you here?" She asked gently, nudging him with her elbow. The younger boy looked indignant as he swallowed hard, refusing to meet her gaze. Instead, he took up aggressively petting Bartholomew, who was balanced on his lap, purring contently.
"No reason that concerns you, Brown."
Jason rolled his eyes, pulling the rice off and breaking it apart with a fork, answering for his little brother, "He got fired."
Steph's jaw dropped, her lips forming a perfect 'o' shape before she nodded sympathetically.
"I told you, Dames. It's a rite of passage. I've gotten fired. Steph's gotten fired--"
"I don't want to hear about your own inadequacies, Todd. I am certainly no where near you and Brown's Robin excursions." The kid sneered, glaring at Jason's fruit bowl. The man just shrugged, waiting a for the curry to thicken tiniest bit more before taking it off the stove completely. He set it on the counter and made a 'go for it' gesture. Like he said, if he had more energy he might've taken the jab to heart, instead he piled white rice on his plate and took it for what it was. Damian, who is insanely prideful, but more than that, as a kid was angry that someone had taken something away from him that he loved so dearly. And even though Jason wasn't the one who had taken it away, he was still in the closest vicinity and Damian felt like lashing out.
Jason could take it, though, as he shoved curry into his mouth, smiling at the shade's Steph's face was turning from the heat. He was from the Alley and he'd suffered far greater weapons than Damian Wayne's sharp tongue. He had a long ways to go before his words were as cutting as Alfred's.
"Dick was fired, too, you know."
Steph nodded through trying to desperately cool the bite she had just taken, fanning herself with her hand as she mimed for milk. Jason snickered and obliged. She spoke out of the corners of her mouth, "Yeah. Like Jason said Dami, it's a rite of passage. And like with everything else, you don't have to listen to Bruce."
Jason smirked, setting the glass of milk down in front of her and gearing up to launch into the story about the many, many times Dick had been fired. It was only far, since the oldest wasn’t there to defend himself.

Helping Hand's
Jason Todd X Reader
Y/N, asks her family to help her move into her new house. Her family unknown to the fact she's knocked up by non other than Jason Todd
Tumblr media
Middle of the day wearing my maternity dress, and shoes as the sun shines. Mid fall, I feel the gentle breeze. I saw my siblings walking up I smiled, finally.
I picked up the box of glass cups heavy! I look at, Dick "D-Dick, could you please?"
"yup got it sis!"
He ran quickly grabbing the box. I took a deep breath feeling my baby kick probably mad, I picked the heavy box up. I cradle my bump taking a deep breath
"sorry, Sweetheart" I mumbled to my unborn baby
Dick dropped the box I hear the glass shatter. His eye's wide in shock he pointed at my abdomen
I threw my hands up "Dick!" I say frustrated
"you... You're?"
I lowered my arm's taking a deep breath "what you've never seen a pregnant woman before!" I said frustrated that he broke the glass
"sorry" he picked the box up and looked at me
"I shouldn't have lost my temper" I rolled my eye's "hormones" I say taking a deep breath
"and.." He says meaning I should have told them I'm pregnant
I put my hands on my hip raising my eyebrows "don't push it, Dick"
He smiled "so who's the baby daddy?"
I sigh, looking at my older brother irritated "say that again and I'll kick your ass"
"I certainly don't doubt that"
As the the other's walked up seeing me and my very pregnant bump. I really didn't think this through.
"well I can honestly say that I wasn't expecting that" Stephanie says surprised
'"I'll second that" Barbara said sitting in her wheelchair
"tt" Damian said plainly but his eye's wide in shock
I sighed walking to my vehicle to grab another box.
"nope! I got it" Tim ran in front of me and grabbed the box.
"go sit inside Y/N we've got this" Dick said
"I'm more than fine with helping you guy's. I just can't pick up anything too heavy"
Cassandra, held my hand and nodded to the house. I sigh and nod. Cassandra and I locked arm's going into the house. It was a beautiful house. In my new home, my large open kitchen with a large table. A hallway on the left leading to three bedrooms. One the mane bedroom, a small bedroom for my soon to be born child and a guest room. Three bathrooms and the entrance door leading to my large living room. Another back door to a backyard with a porch. I sat on my long couch. I watch and direct my siblings of where to put my thing's. I hear my phone a text from Jason. I open his text message.
-on my way home, babe you better have your hot ass on the couch. BTW I got your favorite for dinner(Jason)
-ass is on couch. Thank you for getting dinner
Dick, walked in from the kitchen with a fast pace. I turn my phone off
"ok this as gone far enough Y/N. We helped you unpack everything. We do something for you, you do something for us, like tell us who knocked you up. Now you gotta tell us who the baby daddy is"
The rest of my siblings came in. Talk about a family intervention. I took a deep breath as I hear a motorcycle knowing it's the father of my child, Jason. I gently smiled I feel my baby kicking. The baby always kicks upon hearing the motorcycle or when Jason talks.
"did you call Jason?" Barbara asked shifting uncomfortable in her wheelchair likely seeing where this is going
I snorted in laughter "he would have had a heart attack if I hadn't told him where I was"
He walked in and stretched
"I'm home my lovely's!" he stopped seeing our Family
He sighed and looked at me. I see the restaurant bag's, two drinks he's holding that I've been craving for all day. All our siblings only stood there without a word. Cassandra smiling. Damian's arm's folded his eye's glaring at Jason. Tim shook his head and slightly chuckled. Barbara, had her eyebrows forward in confusion. Dick, was in complete shock. Jason, sighed walked to me and sat down.
"when I said get back up I didn't mean for you to call them" he said slightly irritated
"I know but we got it done faster than I could have done on my own"
He gave me my food and himself a, cheeseburger. He gave me my drink. I gratefully drank some.
"I didn't want you to do it on your own either, baby" he held his, drink and drank his drink "speaking of baby" he points his pinky finger to my abdomen "how's, lil' scout?" I gently smiled of his nickname of our baby
Before I could speak Dick spoke "wait hold on! Just hold on" Dick pointed at Jason and then me "are you two? Like really?"
"yup" I say softly
"so how long have you two been together" Barbara questioned "and haven't told any of us" she mumbled her tone genuinely hurt
Jason looked at them "Y/N and I have been dating for 3 year's, secretly. We moved here to raise our baby" he held my hand "and eat our dinner" he looked at me and softly smiled "anything I miss babe"
"nope, oh yeah thanks for helping me move in guy's. It really helps us focus on the baby and not have to worry about unpacking everything"
"that did help us a lot" Jason said sighing and glanced to my swollen abdomen
"so when are you due? And are we going to meet our future nephew or niece. You know since we're your family and all we did" Stephanie says hopeful
We were interrupted by a knock on the door. Jason pulled up his holograph of the front door, Bruce. I took a deep breath
"shit" Jason mumbled
Jason, kissed my cheek he stood and opened the door. Bruce, looks at me with a concerned smile. I waved gently with my other hand my bump. Please don't be mad he looks at everyone
"father, don't you have something to say" Damian said
He gently smiled looking at Jason "Alfred is making dinner tonight. I expect you all to be there, as does Alfred"

A/N: AKA, A very ambitious fanfic I started because even though I have another fanfic in progress my brain decided to give me an idea and I just had to do it. These are all characters I adore and I even did lots of reasurch on them to hopefuly get them down right. I also too many backstories and threw them into a meat grinder to remold them in a way that would make them fit into this universe.
I love Class 1-A, but like they need to be taken down a peg or two, and I want to see them get their asses handed to them.
Ch. 1 part 1 of 3 Program sign-ups.  -->
Chapter 1 Part 2
High School Hero Collaboration Program
Helping first year hero students connect with others around the world!
What is the HSHC Program?
Our program has had a partnership with Yuuei High School for 15 long years! Their first-year students would come to our schools to interact, learn and study with other sophomore students for two weeks! - For those who don’t know, first year high school students in Japan would be considered sophomores here in the states! - A select few students nationwide as well as worldwide are selected to participate. All services and activities are offered and provided at no cost to participants or their families. This program is geared to help young heroes become (1) more informed of the educational, social, and cultural aspects available, (2) learn how to work with others they are unfamiliar with, (3) gain a better understanding of hero agencies and laws around the world, (4) assist students in successfully gaining connections with other aspiring heroes around the world their own age.
 Student Participants
A total of 40 lucky students are hand selected to take part in this 16 day long program. 28 slots are open for Nationwide applications. The remaining 12 slots are open for applicants across the world! Students are to go through a long application process and in person interview. Once admitted, students will be staying within the dorms that are provided. All plane tickets will be paid for by our program. This program will take place in two schools; Marina High School located in California and Chandler High School located in Arizona.
All partners who wish to apply together must submit a joint application and answer an extra essay question. Only accepting duo teams. Bigger teams are asked to either pair off and sign up as duos, or sign up individually. The whole purpose of this program is for young aspiring heroes to meet others and form connections.
 Application
All applicants are required to turn in two essays (unless a team). There is no page or word limit, 12 size text, font New Times Roman, single space. Along with your essays, please send in two teacher recommendation letters. A checklist will be provided at the end of this packet. Make sure to use it to assist you in keeping organized. Everything can be either faxed to (951-262-3062), given to school office faculty to hand to us or through mailed to 1640 Riverside Drive, Hill Valley, California.
Applicants that make it past the first stage of the application process will be scheduled for an in-person interview. A letter will be sent out within two weeks after the interview confirming whether or not you have been accepted.
 Essay 1.
When you become a hero, what do you hope to accomplish?
 Essay 2.
What major event in your life has led you to where you are now and your decision to become a hero?
Essay question for hero teams.
How did you meet, and when did you decide to work together as a team?
Emerald eyes narrowed as they skimmed over the packet that had been handed to them. With one last look over, they turned to face the person who had given them the packet. Bright blue eyes stared back with a large smile plastered on their lips. “What is this, Grayson?”
“It’s the Hero Collaboration Program!” Richard Grayson – Part-time Gotham Police officer and Underground Hero: Nightwing - responded enthusiastically.
Green eyes rolled skyward at the older boy’s words, “I can see that. All my teachers at school had even taken the liberty to constantly remind us about it. What I mean is, why did you give this to me?”
“Awe common, Kiddo, I thought you were smart.” Jason Todd – Vigilante: Red Hood – joked as he ruffled the younger boy’s black hair. With an annoyed grunt, his hand was swatted away, “We want you to apply for the program.”
With a huff, the youngest fixed his hair, “And why would I do such a thing?”
The oldest boy grinned wider, “It’ll be fun!”
“No.” The youngest replied with a deadpan expression as he tossed the thin packet on the coffee table in front of him.
With a click of his tongue, Jason crossed his arms over his chest. Leaning back on the loveseat, he responded, “Just apply you brat, it’s not even that bad.”
“What’s ‘not that bad’?” Another voice asked as they walked into the living room, laptop in one hand, a cup of coffee in another.
“The Hero Collaboration Program.” Jason responded as he glanced over at the sleep-deprived man as he flopped down next to him.
“Oh! They started accepting applicants already?!” Timothy Drake – CEO of Wayne Enterprises and Underground Hero: Red Robin - sat up enthusiastically.
“Yeah, but Damian doesn’t want to apply!” Dick pouts
“I’m not going to apply to a program that does not benefit me in any way shape or form.” Damian rolled his eyes.
“Wha- but it teaches you so much! Your teachers must have told you about the benefits!” Tim frowned, taking a sip of his coffee.
“They did, but I don’t have any need for socializing.”
“Are you kidding me? You’ve been six years and your only friends are Jon and Maya, and honestly, I don’t think it counts. Maya is in her last year of high school and Jon is a year below you. You need friends your own age.” Jason responded, then waved his hand about, “Even if they're scattered across the continent.”
“I thought he made friends when he was sent to that boarding school in San Francisco for two years when he was eleven?” Dick raises an eyebrow.
"Oh, Titan middle school, right?" Tim hums, "I mean, they helped him become better, I guess?"
"Honestly, I feel like that was the work of the school itself, not them. Besides, Damian doesn't even text or call them like he does Maya and Jon." Jason huffs
“You've been snooping through my phone.” Damian glares as he pulls a knife from nowhere like magic.
"In that case, how will this help him if he isn't even close to people he went to school with for two years?" Tim thought out loud.
"Well, back then it was regular school and classes. Schools don't offer more hero electives till sophomore year in high school. The program does lots of team building and training. What better way to make friends than when your life's in their hands?"
"That's a good point," Tim nods in agreement.
“Didn’t you, like, date Raven while you were over there?” Dick teased, elbowing his brother
“No. I did NOT date Raven.”
“Wha- really? You seemed so close.” Dick blinks in surprise.
"Dude, she's dating Garfield."
"What?! Really?"
"How the hell do you know that?"
"Kori."
"Oh… right, I forgot she mentioned that."
"Dude, she's your wife. If she knows you block out her rants, she's going to kill you."
"... I don't…  block out her rants."
“We’re straying off-topic.” Tim hums, hiding his smirk with his drink as Damian, who proceeded to slowly stand, shoots him a glare before a hand grabs the back of his color and pulled him back down.
“Oh! Right, the Hero Collaboration Program!” Dick grins
“I think Damian taking part in the program is a good idea.” Everyone's eyes flickered over to the entrance where Bruce Wayne – Owner of Wayne Enterprises and Underground Hero: Batman – stood with Alfred Pennyworth, besides him. “This program will benefit you and help you make friends with people your own age, maybe even teach you something new.”
“Your brothers all attended the program, master Damian.” Alfred gave the boy an encouraging smile as he handed out drinks for everyone in the room, “In a way you could consider it a tradition at this point.” The younger boy took his drink silently as he pondered the words the older man had given him.
“Oh yeah, I guess it kind of is tradition at this point, huh…” Tim hummed, finishing his coffee and graciously handing the empty cup to Alfred, who shoved a cup of water in his hands.
“I joined during… what? During their third year of existence?” Dick wondered out loud as he leaned back on the couch.
“That’s correct, master Dick.”
“Haa~ I was Bruce’s test dummy to make sure the program was actually useful.” Dick chuckled softly.
“Pft seriously? Thanks for your sacrifice.” Jason smirked, making Tim let out a soft laugh.
“I suppose.” Everyone fell silent to look at the youngest Wayne, “If it’s a tradition at this point, I suppose I have no other choice but to partake in it as well.”
“That’s the spirit, Lil D!” Jason grinned.
“You’ll have fun. You’ll learn a lot, too.” Tim smiled, taking the smallest of sip of his water. With a glare from Alfred, he took a bigger gulp.
“Yes! Oh, man! I can’t wait for you to tell us about it when you get back! Maybe we should tell him stories of our experience!?” Dick energetically exclaimed as he practically bounced in his seat.
Bruce gave the boys a soft appeasing smile as they all cheered, making Damian scrunch up his face at the loud sound. With a soft sigh, he walked across the room to his office. Along the way, he gave his youngest a soft hair ruffle, making him groan.

___
“Alright, class, make sure to think about signing up for that program! It’s a very good opportunity! You’re dismissed for lunch!” Mr. Barkin, a big man with an obvious werewolf mutation, dismissed his class.
A slim girl with long bright brown hair walked next to a beautiful dark-skinned girl with wavy black locks. The ginger hummed as she stared down at the packet that had been handed to them near the end of class, “I don’t know, what do you think Monique?”
“I think it sounds like a lot of fun! Kim, girl, this is an O.I.A.L.T. E; Once In A Life Time Experience!” Monique paused and frowned.
“That was a long one.” Kim smirks at her friend.
“Ugh, I know. Never gonna use that one again.” The girl waved her hand in the air. Both girls stopped in front of a locker, “But It still stands! You should totally do it!”
“But what about you? And – and Ron?” Kim leans against the lockers, watching as her friend opens hers to put away her books.
“Psssh~ Pu-lease, I’ll be fine! I’ve got work at Club Banana and a bunch of homework to keep me company!” The brown eyed girl closed her locker, and they began their trip to Kim’s locker, “As for Ron, well-“
“K.P!!” Both girls turn to see a blond rushing over, “Did you hear about the exchange program!? Are you signing up? Please tell me you’re not leaving me! We’re supposed to be a team!!” He cried out as he hugged his friend.
The redhead huffed softly before prying her friend off her, “Ron, so not cool.”
“Yeah I – sorry K.P I just – I heard about the program and assumed you’d sign up and leave without me.” Ron sniffled dramatically. From his pocket, a small pink rodent climbed up to his shoulder and nodded in agreement, making small squeaking noises. “See! Rufus and I would miss you…”
Monique rolled her eyes with a smirked as she gently pushed the two forward to keep walking, “You know, the program is accepting team sign ups~”
“Wait really!?” Ron gasped as he brought the packet back up to read. “Oh my god, they are!”
Kim frowns, “I don’t know, then you’d really be alone, Monique.” They stop at her locker.
“Oh common Kim. It’s a once in a lifetime opportunity! You have to S. I; seize it! You’re not going to be a sophomore forever, girl.” Monique leaned on the lockers with her arms crossed over her chest.
“Yeah! It’s a good opportunity to learn about other school systems! Did you see who they're partnered with K. P? It’s Yuuei High school! Yuuei! They're, like, the best in Japan! At least that's what the rest of this thing says and what Yori told me when I did that whole” Ron waves his hand in a circle as he shrugs, “seven day long Japan exchange thing during First Semester.”
“You still have yet to tell us much about that.” Kim smirks as she opens her locker, “Japan is one of those places that have schools that specialize in training hero’s, right?”
“That’s right!” Everyone looked up to the projection of a boy their age sitting at a desk, “Hey girls! Hi Ron, Rufus, Whatcha guys talkin’ bout?”
“Hey Wade. We’re just talking about Some program that’s partnered with Yuuei.” Kim smiled at the screen as she put her things in the locker.
“Oh! The Hero Collaboration Program?” Wade’s smile widens.
Kim rolls her eyes half-heartedly at her friends' excitement. “Of course you’ve heard of it.”
“Yeah! Tell Kim that She’s GOT to GO!” Monique gave her friend a glare.
“Wade! Tell us about Yuuei High School!” Ron practically begged, shoving past Kim before standing behind her again. His best friend shot him an annoyed glare.
With a sigh, Kim finally nods, “Tell us about the school.”
Wade grins and begins quickly typing away on his laptop. A few images began appearing next to him, “As you know, Yuuei High School is known as a hero school. They’re known for ranking number 1 in hero schools across Japan. Their competitor, coming in second by just a bit, is Shiketsu High School. If you ask me though, Shiketsu is obviously better, I mean, look at those uniforms! So wicked! Look at those hats and blazers!”
“Right, about Yuuei.” Kim gently reprimands when she notices her friend is straying off-topic.
“Oh, right! So, from what I’m seeing so far, I think Yuuei has an unfair entrance exam.”
“They have Entrance Exams?” Monique asked with a raised brow.
Wade nods, “Yeah. In Japan, to get into high schools, students are required to take an entrance exam.”
“Right, so, why do you think it’s unfair?” Kim raised a brow
“Well, looking at their sports festival, Just about everyone in the hero program has a “flashy” quirk. When you compare it to other hero school’s and their graduating classes, their quirks are more balanced. Um, one sec” Wade’s eyes narrowed, his pointer finger stretches out like a wire, and he connects to his computer. A moment later, his eyes turn blue and data begins to quickly rush through.
“Is it just me or is he… taking longer than usual?” Ron raises an eyebrow after four minutes pass.
“Mm, another reason to be glad our school has an hour-long lunch…” Monique hums as she leans on a leg, a hand on her hip. They watched in silence as Wade frowned and bit his lower lip. After three more minutes, the boy smirks, disconnecting himself, making his eyes turn back to normal. “Got it.” he grins as he leans back in his seat.
“Uuuuh, got what?” Ron tilts his head in confusion.
“I hacked into their system. It was pretty tricky considering it was made by the smartest being in the world, but nothing compared to me and my quirk. They had a bunch of firewalls and backups too, I think it was a lot of fun to get through.” Wade smirks as he shows them different class schedules for different courses, “I redacted all the important information, but it seems like this school also separates all of their courses. Hero course students, General Education, business, and support. They all learn different things, never interacting unless necessary.”
“That’s… different.” Kim raises an eyebrow. “Um, should you really be hacking into the system of the ‘world's smartest being’ Wade?”
“Ah, don’t worry about it, Kim. Hack helps make sure I’m untraceable and if Nedzu did get an alert, which I worked my way around, and somehow traces a location it’ll just lead him to random computers in a random location of Japan.”
“Wow, The support course students don’t have any combat classes.” Ron frowned, obviously preferring to look at the schedules to listening to the conversation.
“Hold up - Why does General Education have a Quirk Positivity class? This is high school? Shouldn't they have that class in elementary school?” Monique crossed her arms over her chest. Face filled with confusion.
“Right? Not just that, but the school conducts a sports festival, that they compare to the Olympics every year, that puts all the courses against one another.” Wade closes and erases the schedules, replacing them with a video reel of fights and highlights.
“Wha - why even call it a sports festival!? All they're doing is fighting?” Ron frowns before grinning as he watches one of the students punch another, “Booya! Look at that right hook!”
“Oh snap! He flipped him like a pancake!” Monique grinned as they watched the highlight reels.
“Why would they do that? Isn’t that practically advertising your quirk to all the villains in the area?” Kim rose an eyebrow
“It says that it’s done to ‘promote their students to other heroes for field studies.’ The kids receive internship requests by heroes that want to take them on. It’s dumb though because, according to this, only fifteen students from both hero classes combined got internship requests! And one of them got 4,123 requests!”
“They're promoting their students like they're the newest fashion trend.” Monique frowns, looking away from the video.
“That’s… only fifteen kids? Seriously? What about the others? Do they just… not do anything? Why can’t they all just apply like we do? I - My brain can’t process...” Rufus squeaks in sympathy as he pats Ron’s cheek with his paw.
Monique frowns in thought,  “Hey, wait a minute… you said that the sports festival includes all the students, right?”
“Yeah, Three day’s worth of sports festival, one for each grade.”
The girl scoffed, “They're using the other courses to make the hero course look better, aren’t they?”
“What do you mean, Monique?” Kim frowns
“Think about it, girl, you saw the schedules. The hero course is the only course with combat training.” Kim’s eyes widened in realization.
“Duuuude, not cool! If they all had at least the same level of experience, it would be a lot better.” Ron frowns as he crosses his arms.
“Exactly! Personally, I prefer the way our school system is set up. Anyone who wants to take hero classes can take them, and if you don’t finish the credits, you’re in the academy longer. Not to mention, anyone who wants field experience could just apply and do the internships.” Wade crossed his hands over his chest.
“Wade, you're taking support course electives.” Kim smiled softly, “but you have a point.”
“Of course I do! I’m doing field study with the space center! You and Ron go every other weekend to work with the hero agency, and when vacation comes along you’ll be allowed to do more than just patrol. I just… this is just... “Wade signs, “At least I know how to fight and defend myself if anything were to occur.”
“A little worked up there huh, Wade...” Ron gave him a sympathetic smile
“Sorry.” He smiles sheepishly, “Anyway, will you and Kim be applying guys? They accept duo teams.” Kim thinks about it for a moment before letting out a soft sigh and smile.
“You know what? What the heck, let’s do it, Ron.” Kim smiles, “I think it’ll be really cool to get in and talk to other people not from around here. Make some new friends, and possible future partners.”
“Boo-ya! We’re so getting in!” Ron held up a finger for Rufus to high five.
Kim and Monique smile at one another, thanking Wade, the redhead closes her locker, “We can celebrate with Bueno Nacho AFTER we get accepted. For now, let's go get lunch before the break ends.”
“You think they’d let Rufus in?”
“Ron, I don’t know if they’d let your pet in the program.” Monique smiled
“Gasp! Pet? Rufus is NOT a pet! He is our partner!” the little rodent nods in agreement as he squeaks in response.
“Maybe we could ask when we get past the interview process. We’ll have to see, don’t get your hopes up, though, Ron.” Kim smiles softly, patting the boy's shoulder.
Kim Possible. Age 16. Seat 2. Student Rank 2. Hero Name: Possible. Quirk: Quirkless.
Kung fu, acrobatics and gymnastics, cheerleading skills, martial arts, hand to hand
Ron Stoppable. Age 16. Seat 9. Student Rank 11. Hero Name: Koi. Quirk: Karmic Luck.
His good luck fixes his bad luck. His natural bad luck places him in bad situations, however thanks to his quirk they always turn in his favor. For example, He once tripped over a rock, which caused him to dodge bird poop coming at him.

____
A young teen with black hair sat in a chair in their room, the red sleeves of his sweater pulled up to his elbows as he tinkered with a few things. The door to the room slowly opened to show a scrawny man with his blond hair in a beanie. Seeing his younger friend working, he walked in and waved the others in. Walking in, everyone made themselves comfortable in the room. A buff, burly man, walked closer to the teen. With a good slap on the back, making the boy shout in surprise, he greeted him.
“Hey there, little man!” He grinned widely, crossing his arms over his chest. Brown eyes blinked in surprise as he spun around on his chair to face the four adults.
“Oh! Hey guys! What brings you four here?” The younger boy asked with a smile as he adjusts himself in his seat. The adults all glanced at each other for a moment. A girl with purple streaks in her hair held out a packet to him, a small smile on her lips.
“We wanted you to apply for the Hero Collaboration Program.” Honey Lemon began as the boy began to read it.
“You’re a really smart kid, Hiro. Graduated from high school early, taking hero and support classes at the same time at the institute.” Gogo smiles.
“You’ve made awesome support weapons and during battle training you’re, like, wicked smart.” Fred praises.
“Buuuut you’re also a kid. A kid that’s friends with a bunch of adults, we want you to make some friends your own age.” Wasabi grinned sheepishly, everyone nodded in agreement.
“Do… you guys not like being my friends?” Hiro frowns, looking back up at them, dejection clear on his face.
“No!” They all shouted at once.
“It’s not like that!”
“We love being your friend, little dude!”
“You’re an awesome dude!”
“We don’t hate you!”
“We’re not trying to make you feel like we hate you!” Wasabi sighed as he ran a hand down his face, “We just want you to make friends your own age.”
“Yeah, you graduated from high school pretty early on general studies, and are now taking both hero and support classes at the institute, but you never really got a chance to make friends your age.” Honey Lemon explained.
“We already called to ask if you’d be able to apply.” Gogo smiled.
“Yeah! They said that they understand the circumstances considering your quirk and will make an exception! Of course, they said that just because they’re letting you apply doesn’t mean you will be accepted! That’s all on you, my dude!” Fred grinned as he shot the young teen finger guns.
Hiro stared down at the packet in his hands for a moment. They're not wrong. Because of his quirk, he had practically breezed through school and graduated at 11. He’s never been interested in heroics or any of that stuff, but even if he wanted to, no hero school would have accepted him because of his young age. Finding boredom in just staying home, he began to tinker with things and began to build small robots for fun - and maybe to con a few people out of their money - but he’s never pursued anything specific.
He hadn’t even thought about going into support until his older brother had brought it up when he was thirteen. After lots of hard work, he had gotten into the biggest hero school in the Tokyo prefecture, Institute for Heroics and Technology. He thought about applying to UA in shizuoka but he decided that the school was too over rated and stayed in Tokyo. He had stuck to the technical side of things, at least till his brother was killed in an explosion. It had taken a lot of convincing, but he was able to get his friends to help him take down the villain that caused it. He and his friends had become vigilantes and once they had captured the culprit he was reluctant to stop. It wasn’t long till he found himself in the heroics courses as well.
Now that he’s reflecting on it, they're right. He doesn’t have any friends his own age. Taking a deep breath, he nods, “Alright, sure. I’ll apply.”
“Really!?” Honey Lemon practically squeals in excitement.
“Yeah, besides, it says that the kids at Yuuei are participating. They’ve been through a bunch of villain attacks already, It’ll be interesting to see how they compare to other heroes in training.” Hiro leaned back in his seat, a leg crossing to rest on the other.
“Oh… Oh, no, that’s his ‘I have plans’ smirk, guys.” Fred stage whispered to the others.
“Should I be feeling bad for the Yuuei kids or the exchange kids he’ll be with if he’s accepted?” Wasabi asked, making Hiro burst into a fit of laughter.
“... Both.” Honey Lemon squeaked.
“He’s going to have fun.” Gogo smirked.

“No way man.” A dark skinned boy groaned as he tossed his backpack on the ground and sat himself on his desk chair, the wheels sending him back a bit.
“What? Miles, dude common. This event is for sophomores ONLY. You’re never getting this opportunity, ever again!” Another male walked into the shared room and closed the door behind him.
“Ganke I just got the hang of swinging around, the school year is going to end in a few months meaning finals are coming up, I don’t need to stress myself out more with this program.” Miles huffed in response, riffling through his backpack he pulled out his textbooks.
Sitting himself at his own desk, the boy responded as he grabbed his own things, “That was three months ago dude. The school year doesn’t even end until June, we’re barely getting into November, and this program is supposed to be fun. Did you even read that packet? You’ve been stressing yourself too much by adding so much training on top of your school work.”
“...... I can’t rest Ganke, you know that. I have to hurry up and graduate, so I can take over what Peter had left for me.” Miles let out a tired sigh as he slumped back on his chair and stared at the ceiling. “I know what happened to him wasn’t my fault, I get that, but… I just… I could have done more, you know? Like, I know he took me in for field studies because we have similar quirks, but I’ve looked up to him for so long and to be acknowledged only for it to be torn away all of a sudden… We became so close… He wanted me to take over the mantle of Spider-man and I just… I can’t let him down…”
Ganke sat in silence for a moment, trying to gather his thoughts before speaking, “I get that you want to take over the mantle of your mentor, but common man. Take a breather. We’re teenagers and you're burning yourself out. Peter wouldn’t want you to burn yourself out like this. You need this break.”
Silence fell in the dorm room once again as both boys started their homework. It wasn’t long for Miles to find himself tapping his pencil against his desk. Ganke’s words floating about in his mind. With a weary sigh, Miles re-read the packet that he pulled out from where he had stuffed it in a text book. “Your right… I do need a break.”
Ganke grinned widely and kicked off to roll over to his friend, “That a boy!” he cheered, slapping his friend’s shoulder, “Now then, let's talk support items! I've had this idea on making little nubs for your gloves that can discharge electricity for like a week now! I bet you’d like it! The trip is supposed to be in Late February, right? We have so much time! We can test them after school! You can even put them to use on the field when you do actual combat during Christmas break’s field studies!” Miles snorted at his friend's enthusiasm.

A raven haired boy with bright blue eyes groaned in frustration as he slammed his face on the kitchen table. His older sister with red hair frowned with worry, “What’s wrong, Danny?”
“Mr. Lancer handed out some packet for heroes and, like it sounds like fun, but it doesn’t allow trio teams.” Danny responded as he rested his chin on the table.
“Hero? I thought Tucker is in for support, while Sam handles the business aspect when you guys started your own agency?” The older sibling frowned in confusion.
Danny sticks his lower lip out in a pout, “Well, yeah but…” He sits up right, “Sam and Tucker are encouraging me to sign up, and It’s cool and all, but… I just…” The boy paused, turning over the words in his head in an attempt to organize them. His sister waited patiently for him to speak again, “I’ve never felt so… lonely I guess. Like… Tucker and, surprisingly enough, Kyle are going to be handling the Support items and any other tech-savvy stuff. Sam has Wes for business stuff, even if they do argue a lot, but I… have nobody.” The boy buries his face in his hands, “It’s stupid, I know…”
“W - what about Valery? She wants to be a hero too, right? You two were pretty close…?” His sister tries to reassure.
“Yeah, but she hates my guts now, Jazz. Remember the whole incident I told you about with quirk training?”
His older sister frowns at this. Her blue eyes looked over to the packet her brother had set aside. Taking it, she read it over silently before smiling softly, “Well, I definitely agree with Sam and Tucker that you should apply.”
Danny looks up with a frown, “But I’d be all alone…”
“Danny, the whole point of the program is to meet young aspiring heroes your own age. I'm sure you’ll make a friend or two while you’re out there.” Handing her brother the packet, she watched as his eyes roamed over the words again.
“I… I guess you’re right.”
Jazz smiles reassuringly at her brother, “Of course I’m right. Now then, let me help you fill that thing out.”

So I had this idea and I was wondering if you would write it. So damian has lived with his dad for a couple of years, he is 15/16 and his brothers have been nagging him about going on a date like a normal teenager for months now, and then one day he just snaps and screams at them " don't you get it I'm already betrothed!" His brothers are confused but try to help " I'm sure we can find a loophole and get you out of it!" "No. If the betrothal is broken the league will kill her."enter marinette.
Note: Well this story sounded better in my head, but it took forever to type up. I hope you enjoy it.
Damian couldn’t remember a time when his brothers didn’t make an attempt at his love life. Every other month (sometimes weeks) it was attempt after attempt.  He hated it. At first, he humored his brothers, but that humor quickly turned to the opposite emotion. Though Damian’s biggest secret thought that it was hilarious, and it was.
Damian remembers their first attempt, he was only fourteen, been in the Waynes’ custody for almost four years. He remembers being tugged into a bathroom and then forces to wear silly fancy clothes. His brothers should have been lucky that he didn’t have his weapons on him. To them, it was to gain the high school boy experience since Damian refused to do any of the sorts. Shouldn’t they just happy that he has one friend at the very least? Nope, they really wanted Damian to have a sense of normality.
“Baby bird, every teen goes on a date. Please just do this for us.” It was Dick that had started the persuasion. Damian had only tsk and fold his arms against his chest. He was already fed up with all the bullshit spewing from the older adopted Wayne’s mouth.
“Why should I even do this? I barely know the har—girl and—” Damian begins to scowl as Dick interrupts him by tossing a vest for him to wear. He mentally gags at the texture of the vest. Damian had scene better quality, not that he’ll tell where.
“We promise it will be worth it.”  It was Tim that adds to the conversation as Jason was to busy cleaning up his knife in broad daylight.
It wasn’t long after that was the date with a Gotham native. She wasn’t up to his standards; it was clear that she didn’t want to be with him for him. To this day he suspects that she only agreed because of the money. Damian tried everything to make the date super uncomfortable for the girl even going so far as to make up an explicitly detailed gory story. She left cursing his brothers, mainly Dick, out at the end of their date.
Damian had thought that would be the one and only time that would happen…he had forgotten the stubbornness that runs in the family. Failing was not an option as this continues for another four years.
“I’m sure it was a fun date.” A female’s voice says from the screen of his laptop, that was place on his dresser as he does shadow movements with his katana.
“It was tiresome, Angel, and quite frankly I’m getting sick of it.” Damian lowers the blade to his side and turns to face the screen. On the screen is a lovely female, around his age with long dark hair that drapes over her shoulders. She lets out a giggle.
“I’m sure they have the best intentions, besides it’s not like they know I exist, anyway.” She says rolling her eyes.
“Angel, I love you, but not even you can last an evening with the dates they have set up over and over again.” Damian sighs putting up the katana. He then picks up the laptop and goes to lie on his bed.
“Well, I’m sure it will all be fine. Besides, I have a surprise for you that is coming soon. Just hold out until then. Okay?” She says with a bright as a loud sound goes off in the background. Damian sighs and nods before ending the video call. He hates keeping her a secret, but it was the right thing to do.
It was a week later when his brothers came to him with another blind date proposal signally the tenth time that has happened in a span of a month. Everyone could see the growing frustration in the young Wayne heir. With the mention of dates, couples, restaurant, manhood, romance, it would set Damian off, although he was quick to calm down with a message from an Angel.
“Look Demon spawn, she is literally perfect for you.” It was an excuse, something for him to look forward to. No one is perfect.
“C’mon baby bird, she could be the one.” Another excuse. There was only one girl that was the one and she’s several hundred thousand miles away.
“Go, it all fancy and shit, also the NDA.” Ugh, this was becoming numbing. Damian could only wish to slide his fine blade across all their necks. Also, why the hell would Jason even mention an NDA to him in the first place?
“What is this? Another blind date for the young master?” Thank god for Alfred.
“Alfred, we promise this will be the last time.” That’s a lie and he knows it.
Damian could feel the growing headache forming at the back of his mind. Dick’s moving too fast, Tim’s giving him all the details about his so-called date, and well Jason is just being Jason.
“Enough!” Damian finally breaks. “The reason why I don’t like going on these so-called blind dates is because I’m betrothed to someone.” The word betrothed rings through the heads of his family members.
“Wha~!” Simultaneously, the older Waynes’ minds break.
“Is there any way you can break it off? A loophole even? How are you betrothed?” Shouldn’t that had been asked backward? They could all see the steam oozing out of Damian’s ears.
Crossing his arms and turning his back to his brothers, Damian looks down. “No, not unless you want a death on your hands. The only way to end a betrothal is to kill the other, that has always been the League’s away of things.” The second the last word left his lips, Damian walks away; he needs to talk with his Angel.
Still in shock, everyone turns to one another.
“How could we have missed that?” Tim screeches before taking a sip from his mug despite the shaking in his hand.
Dick was unsure what to say, think, or do. It’s not every day you learn the brother you’ve been setting up is engaged. An engagement that they could not break.
“I’m more worried who the brat is engaged too?” Jason murmurs then proceed to clean out his gun. His brothers stare at him with wide eyes unsure what to say to the second oldest.
For the next week after that bomb drop, his brothers continue to pester him about his betrothal, they even managed to include Bruce in the conversation a couple of times. If it wasn’t for Alfred, Damian knows that the pestering would have left someone in the hospital.
On a rare sunny day in Gotham, Damian had taken Titus out for a walk. It was clear his mind and to get away for the time being. Finding a nice park bench to sit on, he pulls out a small sketchpad and begins to sketch. Titus runs around enjoying the outdoors.
“Is this spot taken?” The voice sounded so familiar. He grunts ever once looking up the person afraid that he had misheard the voice. “Oh, c’mon Dams, I thought you would be happy to see me.” It was then that he looks up. In shock, he pushes the sketchpad to the side and pulls the person in front of him into his arms.
“I miss you.” He murmurs into her dark hair. “But how?”
“I managed to win the Martha Wayne scholarship, and then your butler Alfred got into contact with me about visiting.” She says looking up to Damian, though she was mainly seeing his chin due to their height difference. “You’ve grown.” She then pouts.
Damian lets out a soft chuckle, hoping that no one outside of his Angel heard him. His Angel places her head against his chest and together they stayed like that until Titus decided that he was some attention.
“Awe, he’s so cute.” She says petting the Great Dane.
Damian was internally happy to have her by his side for the first time in years. She’s the one that is perfect for him and it’s not because she was molded to be, but because she knows him inside and out.
When Damian, Titus, and his Angel returned to the manor, it is Alfred that they see first.
“Welcome home, young master, and Miss Dupain-Cheng.” Alfred greets the teen.
“Alfred, please call me Marinette, my last name can be a mouth full,” Marinette says giving the butler a smile. Alfred nods and proceeds to guide them to the living room. “So, this is the Wayne manor, those photos you send me Dams does this no justice.”
Damian once again chuckles knowing she’ll be in a heavily inspired by the architecture which will then cause her to go dark until she finishes whatever project came out of the inspiration.
“Angel, how about I give you a proper tour of the manor?” He offers to which she gladly takes.
Marinette had been staying at the Wayne manor for a couple of days before Damian brothers make their grand entrance. Without catching sight of the girl, they make their way to the youngest Wayne hoping to get some answers about his betrothal.
“Um, you can ask me if you want,” Marinette says from behind the boys causing an outcry of emotions.
“What you’re real?” It was Tim rubbing his eyes that speaks first.
Marinette awkwardly nods, “And you need sleep. I have a special brew that can knock anyone out within seconds.” She says to Tim before turning to the others. “I’m Marinette, nice to meet you.”
Dick and Jason stare at the girl lost for words. Dick was internally gushing about her size and how cute she is compared to Damian while Jason struggles to comprehend the person in front of him.
Marinette closes the gap between her and Jason. She looks over the second oldest and smiles sadly. “You have so much darkness around you. The same that used to be around Dams. I could help you if you want.” She says taking the male’s hand.
Jason was lost for words. This person was willing to help him. He wasn’t sure how to feel but the light flowing off of this tiny person was overpowering.
“That’s it you’re my new favorite sibling. I will protect you with my life.” Dick cries out starting the competition of who’s Marinette’s favorite brother-in-law.
Not surprisingly enough, Marinette warmed her way into the Wayne family. She even bonded with Steph, Cass, and Barbara whenever the girls came over for a girls-only day. Damian quickly was reminded why he didn’t want his family to know about her, seeing that he barely has time with her as his siblings take all the time away. Though it has it’s benefits. He can now visit Marinette in France without needing to sneak away and she could come to visit the manor whenever she wants.
Damian knew the moment he said “I do”, she’ll be his forever in life and in death just like he’ll be hers forever.

Ask: The 27th of April, the Last (and Long) Part
Tumblr media
Bonus Ask:
Tumblr media
[Stately Wayne Manor]
Jason: *helping Alfred clear out the dinner table* You think we should’ve asked Harley to stay for dinner?
Alfred: If you wished to see Master Bruce’s hair turn to grey as you ate dessert, I don’t see why not.
Jason: *burps loudly and fans his breath away* Whoops. Sorry, Alf. Just my way of complimenting your cooking.
Alfred: *carrying the dishes to the kitchen* Then perhaps you should come here more often, Master Jason.
Jason: *following Alfred* I'd rather not cause any trouble.
Alfred: *stops in his tracks and turns to face Jason with a stern expression* And you don't think it troubles me that you feel unwelcome here?
Jason: *takes the dishes from Alfred’s hands, sets them on the kitchen island, and pulls him in for a hug* Alf, hey... I didn’t mean it like that. I know you guys care about me, it’s just...
Alfred: *sobbing into Jason's shirt* We've already lost you once... Once is enough, Jason...
Jason: *tightens the hug and gently plants a kiss on top of Alfred’s head* I know, I know... I'm back, Alf. I'm back.
>>> *** <<<
Dick and Barbara: *sitting on the carpeted floor in the study, enjoying the heat from the fireplace in front of them, going through a stack of photo albums*
Dick: *smiling fondly* Wow, these are old-old.... I should probably scan them before they crumble to pieces.
Dick: *stops at a page and points at a picture of Bruce and Jason on a boat, smiling, and holding up a tuna* Check this out, Babs... Aw, I love this one. I had a few days off from work, decided to spend it here. Somehow Jason convinced Bruce to take break from himself and go fishing.
Dick: *talking animatedly* So, there we are on Bruce’s huge fishing boat, the Bat-2-Sea -- And Jason’s starting to get seasick because he’s been hanging out by the edge, waiting for a bite for hours -- The persistence on that kid! --  And he finally gets one! A big one, Babs -- *spreads his arms* -- and it was pulling down hard like you wouldn’t believe, but Jason just wouldn’t let go! -- So Bruce drops the glass of wine he’s holding and runs to grab him --
Barbara: What were you doing?
Dick: Who do you think took the picture? As I was saying -- Bruce, he -- he -- *starts to laugh so hard that he tears up* trips over Jason’s line somehow and falls into the ocean! *slapping-the-floor laughing* The World’s Greatest Detective, in his Batwaders, drenched like a wet bird... *sighs happily* You should’ve seen his face!
Barbara: *turns the page* Oh, I can see it now. Still stone-faced, but wet.
Barbara: *stops at a page and giggles* Aw... Will you look at that?
Dick: *looks at the photo Babs is pointing at and chuckles softly* That’s adorable.
Barbara: Those scaly leotards fit him better than they ever did you, Boy Wonder.
Dick: *smirks* Whatever. But I have to admit, he did look great. He looked really... happy. I wish... I wish I saw more of him in action, you know? *voice breaking* I could’ve maybe trained him the way I did Tim and Damian --
Barbara: *rubs his back comfortingly* Dick...
Jason: *walks into the study* Dickie, I took some of your --
Dick: *clears his throat and wipes his eyes haphazardly* Hey, Little Wing!
Jason: Wait, are those our old family photos?
Barbara: *pats the empty spot beside her* C'mere.
Jason: *sits down and rubs his hands together* Where’s the one where Bruce goes kersplat in the ocean?
Jason: *flips through the pages and grimaces at his photos as Robin* You're not gonna use these to blackmail me, are you?
>>> *** <<<
Duke: *watches as his RPG character explodes for the fifth time in a row and shakes his head* You beat me again! You're so good at this game, man.
Jason: *snorts and puts his controller down* Dude, you weren't even trying. If I didn't know better, I'd say you were letting me win.
Duke: What? Naaaah... That's... Come on, why would I do that?
Jason: *gets up and shrugs, grinning knowingly* I dunno... 'Cause you like seeing me alive?
Duke: Yeah. It’s pretty awesome, actually.
Jason: *offers to bump fists* I gotta pack up. Good game, though. See you around, bro.
Duke: *exploding-fist-bumps with Jason* You too, bro.
Jason: *pats Ace the Bathound’s head as he exits the game room*
>>> *** <<<
Steph: *examining Jason’s face* You look really pale.
Cass: *pointing at various spots on his face* And you have a lot of... scars.
Jason: *sitting on a stool in front of Cass’s vanity dresser, staring at himself in the mirror and absentmindedly running a finger over the shirt-covered scar on his chest* Yeah? That bad, huh?
Steph: *grins* Nothing a little makeup can’t fix.
Jason: *rubbing his chin* You think so? I mean, I just came here to borrow a few weapons from Cass, but if you think I need a makeover...
Steph and Cass: *look at each other and squeal in delight*
>>> *** <<<
Tim: And this *holding up a minuscule gadget between his fingers for Jason to see* generates a force field over your entire body. The more the impact, the greater the energy generated. Schway, huh?
Jason: *nodding his head appreciatively as he takes the gadget and sticks it on the lapel of his leather jacket* Schway.
Tim: *proudly shows Jason a Bat-shaped breastplate * Now, this -- You're gonna love this -- It can turn you invisible to the naked eye for roughly 34.5 seconds, giving you time to do all kinds of offensive or defensive stuff. They won’t know what hit them, Jay. You’re basically gonna be invincible and Joker... Joker, he’s... he’s not... not gonna... *drops the breastplate unceremoniously*
Jason: *places a hand on Tim’s shoulder* Thank you, Timbo. Really. But I'll be fine out there. You don't have to worry about me.
Tim: Yeah? Can you promise me that? Because I don’t think I can live through another one of Bruce's meltdowns.
Jason: *chuckles softly* Aren't they the best?
>>> *** <<<
Jason: *staring at an empty grave layered with concrete in the backyard*
Jason: *rolls his eyes* I know you're there.
Bruce: *comes out of the shadows and stands next to Jason*
Jason: Why'd you keep it?
Bruce: Because I'm a sentimental old fool.
Jason: This is just... creepy. Even for you.
Bruce and Jason: *stare at the empty grave in silence*
Jason: I've forgiven you.
Bruce: *glances at Jason, who could’ve sworn his adoptive father’s eyes were bloodshot*
Jason: You know that, don’t you? I mean, I know we’re always going to disagree about Jok-- about him, and a few other things, but... You’ll always be family, Bruce. My family.
Bruce: *looks at Jason, smiling wearily*
Jason: *grinning back at Bruce*
Bruce: *puts an arm around Jason’s shoulder* Thank you... Son.
Jason: *pulls Bruce in for a tight hug*
Bruce and Jason: ...
Jason: Hey, remember that time you went kersplat in the ocean?
>>> *** <<<
Damian: *knocks softly on Jason's bedroom door* Todd.
Jason: *stuffing a duffel bag with clothes, homemade snacks, and weapons* Hey, kid, come in. I’m just getting my stuff ready --
Damian: These came from Mother. *drops a pile of books on Jason’s old desk*
Jason: *picking one after the other up excitedly* Tolstoy, Machiavelli, Sun Tzu, Shakespeare, Marx... No way...
Damian: They’ve been with me for a while. But since you rarely come over, they’ve been collecting dust and taking up valuable space in my room. -Tt-
Jason: *wiping the dust off with his shirt and hugging each one* She kept them... These were my friends back when I was in the League...
Damian: I didn’t realize we had more in common than just being my Father’s sons.
Jason: Wow. I have no idea how I’m supposed to bring all of these home. I mean, I got here on roller blades, for Bat’s sake --
Damian: *thrusts a piece of paper into Jason’s chest* This is for you.
Jason: *gingerly uncrumples it, revealing a painting of him and Damian*
Jason: *reading the writing in calligraphy underneath* “The Second Chance Robins”... *looks at Damian, feeling the tears well up in his eyes* You made this?
Damian: *looking down at his feet* When it’s my day... M-my d-day... Will you come over, too?
Jason: *gets down on bended knee to be at eye level with his little brother* Hey, buddy, look at me. Damian, look at me. Of course. Listen, we’ll do whatever you want. We’ll, um... We’ll take bad guys down together! Pull pranks on Tim! You name it, I got you.
Damian: Don’t make promises you can’t keep, Todd.
Jason: I promise that I’ll do my best, okay?
Damian: You could stay the night, you know. You’re home anyway.
Jason: *ruffles Damian’s hair and grins* I'd like that. As long as you hang out here with me. And I promise I won't tell anybody because it'll ruin our reputation.

If truth be told, @wingedskyes , Jason makes himself available on his Death Day. Because even if neither he nor his family and friends mention it, he knows that they need him just as much as he needs them.
Thank you for this Ask. It was both fun and just a tad bit heartbreaking to write.
And thank you, @warrior-of-the-blue-moon , for the nice addition.

Dick Grayson: Fine Cuisine
Summary: Fluff
• Dick is unprepared for a family meal but your offer your fine expertise and have the whole family asking questions about you.
Warnings: Mature language
A/N: Hello lovlies! I’ve missed you all so much, I hope this helps a bit and there’s so much more I could add onto this so please enjoy and lemme know how you all are~
>>>>—————————>
Tumblr media
It started with a family dinner.
As many curious situations do in retrospect, but with a family of vigilantes whose relationship ties have frayed, intermingled and been resewn makes for more interesting get-togethers compared to most.
One thing they could all agree on though? Dick Grayson cannot cook.
"I can't believe that, they just assume it's going to end in a takeout?" Came your amused voice as you placed a coffee on your kitchen island that Dick was currently seated - or rather slumped at.
"It's because the last two times I've hosted something like this, takeout has saved my ass." The ravenette embarrassingly clarifies, voice trailing off toward the end and did his best to avoid looking at you.
Dick Grayson was technically a neighbour, albeit living a few floors below your more lavish (and expensive) apartment suite. After moving into the complex on the same day, you quickly excavated the common ground to build a solid foundation for friendship - as such, meet-ups like these became a regular thing, switching apartments each time.
"Then, I'll help you out." You proudly confirmed, gesturing to your grand kitchen which was the sole reason you’d brought the place - one of the many things Dick envied about your luxurious living area compared to the standardised version of his own, though on an Officers salary he couldn’t afford something like this.
"Ah (Y/n) no, I can't let you do that!” Came his instant reply, hands waving defensively as he adamantaly brainstormed another excuse. “Plus you'll be working that night."
"True, but that doesn't mean I can't set you up beforehand. We'll start tomorrow, I'll teach you a recipe."
———
As previously planned, Dick turned up at your door rather nervously even though he’d been around you many times - not once had he demonstrated a serious negative flaw to his character in order to impress you, but cooking was one of them and you were about to witness chaos that’d likely dispel any romantic inclination he hoped you held for him.
“Ready?”
“No.”
With a playful laugh, you rolled your eyes and pulled the male into your kitchen noting how he was likely tired from his shift at Blüdhavens Police Department earlier that afternoon so a good meal should do wonders. Maybe it’d give him a better nights sleep too? The acrobat never seemed to obtain many of those for some unknown reason, apparently it’s ‘too noisy’ in the city.
“Oh and you can host in my apartment, it’s bigger and I’ll have all the equipment you need. You already have a spare key anyway.”
“You’re really amazing, I don’t deserve you - y’know that?” There were deeper feelings involved in that seemily offhanded thank you, ones relating to his role as Nightwing and his past mistakes which all remained a hated secret from you.
It started well, Dick following along with ease and you concluded that he picked things up fast with how observant he was which sped up the process. The main course he’d nailed with your guidance and so, you decided to move onto dessert.
“Now we add cocoa powder to th-“ You’d froze, mouth open out of surprise with the substances dusting your lips, cheek and part of your left collar bone - the offender in question mirroring your expression, albeit holding back his laughter due to his colossal misjudgement.
“I - I didn’t think it’d go everywhere when I ripped the packet open...”
“You don’t ever rip the packet, you tear it gently!” Came your dangerously mischievous correction, licking the sweet substance from your lips before flicking the currently non-chocolate brownie covered spoon at him with flecks landing on the side of his face.
“Oh, it’s on!”
This ensued an all out war, the two of you ducking and dodging oncoming attacks as you danced around the kitchen island with varying results of accuracy until Dick decided to slide over the marble surface and capture you in his arms.
His embrace faltered slightly as your back hit the island during your feeble attempt to get away, finding yourself trapped between him and the cool surface too enthralled in the carefree antics to notice the proximity. A beat of silence passed once the atmosphere had settled, Dick releasing a breathy chuckle with his grip around your waist loosening slightly as you looked up with a victorious smirk - he took the opportunity to lean forward slightly as if testing the waters and careful to note any kind of reaction you replied with.
However, there was a lack of trust as all is fair in love and war, hence your devious reasoning to close the gap some more and with the softness of his warm breath dancing on your lips you swiftly leaned past his whilst dragging your tongue across his cheek. Dick pulled back instantly, a mix of disgust and offence in his eyes as you spoke.
“Needs more sugar.”
“I’m sweet enough as it is thank you, you’d know that if you’d have just kissed me instead of betraying me like that!” Dick wittily snapped back, admiring the melodious laughter that escaped you at his response.
“I’m sure you do, speaking of - these brownies should last until the dinner so you won’t have to make them again on the day alright? I’ll get everything ready so you don’t have to worry about a thing.”
“I guess you’d taste pretty sweet too.” Though referencing your kind nature, you couldn’t help but lightly punch him in the shoulder.
———
Regardless of Dicks wistful prayers, the deadline had finally arrived and his family would be sporadically arriving in a matter of hours - so help him.
"All the ingredients are on the counter - do not use anything else - and I've detailed the instructions on the whiteboard in case you forget anything." You pointed to each item as you spoke, donning a jacket before barely making it past the kitchen doorframe due to your neighbours dramatically desperate pleas.
"Can't you just stay? And do it with me?"
"I have to go to work." You laughed at his antics, the man looking like a lost puppy amidst your vast collection of kitchen utensils.
"Work will survive without you, c'mon you wouldn't lose out on much - I'll even pay for the trouble."
That, truly caused you to hesitate with a look of sheer bemusement, a mischievous glint dancing in your irises that mocked his claim almost as much as your sardonic tone.
"If you truly knew my job and paycheck then you'd take that back.” With that, you were quick to flip to a more cheerful voice as you waved goodbye to a pouting Grayson. “Anyway, you'll be fine and tell me how it went once I get back~"
"Wait (Y/n) h-"
The slam of the front door echoed your departure leaving a Dick feeling more lost than ever, the kitchen seemingly quadrupling in size now.
Bruce arrived first along with Damian, Cass, Duke and Alfred. Then there was Tim who’d apparently travelled from Titans tower and finally Jason who’d sauntered in fashionably late as predicted but only by 5 minutes. Each baffled by the sudden change of location which only intensified when the host brought out plates of home cooked dinner.
"..."
"This... this isn't take out..."
"No, it's actual food.” Dick confirmed almost offended and words laced with a hint of underlying sarcasm. “That I made myself."
"Okay, so uh - is it edible then?" Jason quipped back, smirking at his elder brother in a smug manner that only he could achieve.
"Would you just eat it? I went through a lot of stress and effort for this."
Dick encouraging everyone as he sat down, the action only bemusing the members of his family more as they complied to his wishes with varying degrees of hesitance from each of them. Damian trusted Dick the most, but he patiently waited for his father to finish his mouthful before even touching his own dish.
"Wow, this is incredible, the flavour and everything - Dick what happened to you?!" Duke enthusiastically mocked and continued to devour the meal with a sense of radiance which contrasted to Cassandras pure silence as she savoured every tasteful mouthful.
"Grayson, there is no way you are solely responsible for this cuisine." Damian suspiciously raised a brow at the older hero, tentatively laying his cutlery elegantly on the now clear plate.
"Thank you, and maybe I had some assistance from my neighbour."
“Thank you for dinner Dick, it was surprisingly delicious and please give our thanks to your mysterious friend too.” Bruce knowingly added, proud of his protégés accomplishments - though minor in comparison to Alfreds glowing exterior.
“I told you there was hope Master Bruce.”
"Bro, they left a whole list of instructions so you wouldn't mess up and hey, call if you need anything. Sounds like a plan -" Jason, who had waited until everyone was finished explored your kitchen in hopes of finding some evidence as to who their saviour was.
"Jason no! They're working!"
"It‘s an emergency, you’ve been replaced by a clone with adequate cooking skills!” Tim wittily added once leaning against the kitchen doorframe to observe the scene with Damian inspecting the whiteboard before questioning it’s purpose.
“Why leave this if they couldn't answer then?"
"That's the point, she will answer and I don't want to disturb her right now. They've done enough for me already." Dick painfully sighed, strategically slapping Jason’s phone into the air and catching it with his other hand in one swift motion much to the irritation of the latter.
"Hold up - she?" Duke cut in now, holding his hands out for emphasis and subtlety fishing for elaboration.
"Are you dating...?” Jason hummed, taking a moment to analyse Dicks reaction prior to cementing his assumption. “No, but you want to, right?"
“We are not -“
“You want to date someone?” Cass innocently inquired now walking in with a pile of plates, Bruce and Alfred following in afterwards with clean up of their own.
“I mean I -“
“I’ve seen enough of your crushes to know you have one, you’re already flustered by thinking about them romantically.” Bruce effortlessly deducted, Alfred nodding in agreement whilst commencing the washing up.
“You can’t just call me out like that Bats, after everything with been through too.” Dick feigned betrayal, a hand on his heart whilst Bruce shook his head.
“Oh yeah, how long did he wait for Starfire and Barbara though?” Tim jokingly nudged Jason who chuckled at the small dig, though charismatic and charming - when real feelings were involved, Dick Grayson wasn’t one to straightforwardly act on them.
“Real mature guys.”
“I think you should tell her.” Was the sincere voice of reason, Cassandras kind smile enough to silence the devilish remarks of his brothers who now shrugged in defeat.
“We could help...”
———
Miraculously, you'd attained reservations at the most eloquent restaurant in Gotham, located in the more luxurious district of the wealthy. As a result, it served only the finest gourmet cuisine and had waiting lists longer than any other, so much so that even Bruce Wayne had yet to successfully book a place at the establishment.
You had given him the news when he’d recounted the events of his family dinner (skipping over certain discussions) and how they were grateful for your generosity.
Now, you'd asked Dick for how many he'd like seated at the table so you could finalise the arrangements - he knew you worked there, meaning staff privileges were likely applied in this situation but he was still left speechless.
Gawking at the skyrocketing prices, Dick now understood how much missing one day of work would seriously cost you - he definitely couldn't have afforded your time that night after all.
"So, you say you're paying for this?"
With a painstaking hum of agreement, the eldest nodded with a hint of concern detected on his features, fortunately Bruce had come prepared with his own credit card (just in case). Although his family could be provoking and frivolous toward one another, they were also respectful in situations like these and wouldn't run the bill up too high like certain members would if Bruce had been footing the bill. Dick had a charismatic bond with all of them in that sense.
Meanwhile, you handled everything in your kitchen of organised chaos as the orders came pouring in, including that of Dicks table who you had yet to formerly greet.
"This is cereal..." The head waiter meant it more of a question than a statement, looking to you with upmost uncertainty due to the simplicity of the dish compared to those on your signature menu.
Did they even stock Lucky Charms with the ingredients? The answer was no, you’d intentionally bought them purely for this very day and scenario.
"I know, I know - please serve it to my neighbour on Table 12, he'll get it." You humourously assured the man who seemed to have more to say but didn’t wish to argue with higher authority.
"Ah, Chef..." Your sous chef called moments later, overlooking the scene with mild skeptism before realising the nature of your scheme.
"Hm?"
"You do realise he is currently seated with Mr Bruce Wayne, don't you?" Upon processing that unprecedented information you immediately bolted - hot on the trail of the waiter with a weak promise in your wake.
"What?! I thought he'd bring his friends along not his- oh god, I just sent them cereal- shit, I'll be right back!"
With strategy and precision, you carefully intercepted the tray only seconds before it’d be placed in front of the empty seat of Dick Grayson - the man in question probably taking a bathroom break.
"Aha, pardon me, this was an incorrect order on my part, please forgive the interruption." You bowed with an apology, disappearing in hopes the remainder of the party hadn’t the time to fully decipher the mistake.
Of course, unbeknownst to you, this was a table full of detectives who constantly observed even the most trivial of details.
"Was that... cereal?"
The night followed on as planned, yourself wrapped up in cooking and supervising throughout the night with the only interruption coming from the waiting staff informing you that Table 12 would like to meet the Chef. Such a gesture was commonplace for you, customers regarded as strangers being much less intimidating than your neighbours family - you couldn’t comprehend why, it’s not like you were dating him or anything but their auras just radiated strength.
"Good evening, I'm glad to hear you -" Arriving at the table, you weren’t given the chance to finish before Dick had stood to greet you with a warm smile gently brushing your upper arm once deciding against hugging you out of habit.
"Hey, (Y/n). You didn’t come over this morning, everything alright?"
"Yeah, it's fine Dick I just had to readjust a menu." You waved his worries off with a grateful nod, hands on your hips in accomplishment as you expected to resume natural conversation with him.
"Okay okay, compliments to you, the food was immaculate - but how do you know our brother?" A youthful male bearing a white streak through his hair cut in, genuine sincerity in his tone when offering his praise before incredulously gesturing to Dick.
"He's my neighbour."
"I - he's a what now?" Duke shook his head in disbelief, looking between you both rather unconvinced.
"Are you kidding me Grayson?!" Tim was next, the most exasperated out of the whole table as he pinched the bridge of his nose whilst Dick quizzically scanned each of his company for insight.
"What...?"
"You got cooking lessons from one of the top Chefs in the whole damn country, you're friends with her, and you didn't even know who she was?!" The slimly built youth exclaimed, apparently knowledgeable in regards to the culinary world and had read of your famous reputation.
“(Y/n) (L/n) owns this restaurant Dick. Also, thank for the other week, the recipe was lovely.” Bruce politely added, nodding to you with a smile.
“You didn’t say that, you only said you worked here.” Dick turned to you now, in a feeble attempt to justify his lack of acknowledgment to your renowned status.
“Well, I do. In my defence you never asked, I mean my apartment and kitchen are rather fancy - that didn’t come on minimum wage.” You replied a matter-of-factly with an air of confidence to your voice.
"Are we forgetting that this is also the chef who was going to serve Richard cereal?" At the remark from Duke, a heated flush adorned your skin due to the embarrassment of being caught - the whole table breaking into collective chuckles.
"You were? - Wow that's such a dick move!" Dick was openly laughing at your failed attempt at humour, lightly nudging your side as you pushed him away in playful defence.
"Shut up! I didn't realise you were with your family, or else I wouldn't have done it."
Jason immediately waved that claim off, cheekily smirking at you as he spoke. “Oh no, I'm so glad you did, honestly it's the main reason I like you right now."
“That and you spared us the horror of Graysons cooking.” Damian conviently inputted, conniving grin sent to his favourite brother.
“You’re welcome, ah I apologise but I should get back to work so please excuse me. It was a pleasure meeting you all.” Taking a calculating glance over the expanse of exquisite tables and order exchanges you thought it best to return to your duties with a gracious smile and started toward the kitchen.
“Can I drop by tonight, I won’t be able to afford any thank you gifts after this but I’ll bring you a coffee?” Dick cheerily inquired, causing you to spin on your heel with a shy laugh and confirmation of his proposal.
“Don’t worry, this is my treat. You guys don’t have to pay for anything so enjoy the rest of your evening.” With that you were once again swept up into the busy atmosphere beyond the kitchen doors.
The table remained quiet for a few moments, Dick sitting down and looking to them almost as if searching for their impressions of you only to be met with bemused, impressed and mischievous gazes.
Not for you, oh no - these were shamelessly directed at a now enamoured Dick Grayson.
“Please marry her.”

———
The CCPD was calmer than normal, no crimes from any of the rouges but it could not be said by some of the other cities in the country. Work was simple, a catch up day of reports for most. (Y/n) Wayne was looking through a few cases that were thought to be linked. She had been working for the CCPD for the past two years, starting the job in her last year of college.
It had been five years since Damian and her moved to Central City. Damian worked as a veterinarian not too far, though (Y/n) said he would’ve been a good asset to the Police Department as a detective. Both left the lives they lived in Gotham behind, not wanting to go back. They may be the biological heirs to the company but they knew Tim could handle it just fine. Neither (Y/n) or Damian ever made a move to talk to their dad or brothers. Alfred was the only one allowed to stay with them.
"(Y/n), there are two men asking to talk to you," an officer stated.
"What are their names? Because if it's my dad or brother's I don't want to speak with them."
The guy nodded and walked away to go talk to the pair that wanted to talk to her. Quickly she compared fingerprints and weapons from a recent case to one that happened a few months back. The crimes were very similar, too similar in the way they were planned, they had to be connected in some way or shape.
“(Y/n), they said their names were Bart Allen and Jon Kent. Do you still want them to come in?”
A smile graced the young woman’s face and she nodded, “Yes right away.”
Jon, Bart, Damian and (Y/n) were all close friends. They helped each other out and helped each other through school. More often than that they just hung out like normal people and lived normal lives. Inside jokes and random visits were a normalcy among the group, not one falter was possible between them. (Y/n) was going to guess that the man was new to the station since everyone knew who Jon and Bart were. Looking up as two figures she stood up sharply a glare in her eyes. Now she was certain the man was new or paid off, no one would let those two in to talk to her. It was common knowledge that the (Y/n) and Damian Wayne didn't talk to the rest of their family and everyone knew who was in the group.
She tapped her bracelet that went unnoticed at the sight of the two. Damian would come as soon as possible, as would Bart and Jon. She needed to get away from these two, now.
"Sit down sis, we just want to chat."
"There is nothing to chat about Timothy. Why did you and Richard come? You know I want nothing to do with Gotham or the rest of our family. So why are you two bothering me while I'm clearly working?"
Both men frowned at her, "Look we just wanted to apologize about-"
"About what?” (Y/n) cut off. She was well aware that her co-workers were getting ready to move the two young men if needed. “About forgetting my existence for all the time you’ve known me? Only showing you cared when I left for Central? Richard, Timothy, if you wanted anytime to apologize then it should have been soon after I left. It’s been five years, not five weeks, five years. I’ve made a life for myself and so has Damian, we don’t plan on leaving our new lives.
“If you wished to apologize then go ahead apologize, that doesn’t mean a I’ll be forgiving you for what you did. You can talk to Damian, that is if he doesn’t punch you first.” She nodded as she looked past the two and to her friends and little brother. None of them looked happy, in fact Damian looked ready to murder both of them, Tim mostly.
“Honestly, don’t you remember when we skipped stones?” Dick tried to get to her. All he got was a blank look and a nod. “We had fun and we were siblings.”
“The key words in that sentence are had and were. Dick, you have no right to come here and make sure she talks to you.”
Dick looked at Bart in surprise of what came out of the young speedster’s mouth. Jon nodded in agreement and Damian was faster than you could blink. One second he was next to Jon and the next he was in front of Tim. The only things holding back were his morals and Jon’s grip on his arm.
“(Y/n) we can remove them from the premises if you wish.”
“That won’t be necessary Captain. I’m sorry for the disruption, may I leave early?”
“Of course.”
The woman packed her things and grabbed Tim’s and Dick’s arms before dragging them out with her three boys behind her, all chuckling in amusement. Soon they reached a small diner where the six got a table.
“Why are you two here?” (Y/n) questioned. She looked Tim dead in the eye and he couldn’t help but remember the night she had left, the day right before Damian’s graduation. Dick couldn’t believe how much his sister had grown from when he last saw her on Christmas about six or seven years back.
“We wanted to talk,” Dick replied, he was trying hard to stay calm but couldn’t as Jon sat next to him, giving him pointed glares.
Damian rolled his eyes from across Jon, “Well, we’re talking. You better say what you need to by the time this early dinner ends. We have places to be.”
“The winter festival,” Tim guessed. “We know what you four have been up to for the past few years. You all volunteer at homeless shelters, help out where ever your needed, only as your civil identities. You four are like everyday heroes that help with the small stuff.”
“While that is all correct, why have you been keeping tabs on us in the first place?” Damian questioned, his eyes zeroed in on the older men.
Dick shrugged, “Wanted to make sure our little siblings are well and safe.”
The two Waynes scoffed and rolled their eyes, glancing down at the menus. They both doubted that was the reason why they tried to corner (Y/n) at her job. The waitress took their drink orders and hurried off but the tension still stood.
“Look, why are you really here? What could you possibly know?”
“Enough,” Tim said causally. “Damian’s a veterinarian, not that I’m surprised by that. You’re a forensic sciencetist, that was a little startling seeing as you went to medical school. Jon’s a journalist like Clark, one of the best actually which is surprising, I always remembered you as a goof ball. Bart is also a scienctist that specializes in physics. All four of you live in Central City, right across the hall from each other in fact. (Y/n) and Damian live in the same apartment that the had moved into and Jon and Bart live as roommates right around the hall. However, Jon and Damian spend more time with each other while Bart and (Y/n) spend more time with each other. Should we be worried about that?”
“Should you even care?” Bart snapped. “These are our personal lives and no offense Drake, we don’t want you in it. You had your shot and you missed it.”
“Look, we just want to set a new play field,” Dick began. “We don’t have to be friends though we’d prefer it. We know being siblings is out of the question so friends?”
“Acquaintances,” Damian spoke up. “We’ll see about friends in the future but we’re acquaintances. I don’t forgive you for what you’ve done and by the look in (Y/n)’s not forgiving you guys either.”
“Damian’s correct, I don’t forgive you and nor will I be your friend at this time. We will only be acquaintances and nothing more. I have not intention on being your sister in any time.”
The six sat in silence, a little less tension than before. Soon after dinner was over they went their separate ways. Though Dick and Tim were not Damian and (Y/n)’s siblings and would never be, perhaps becoming friends would be better. The pair went back to Gotham and informed everyone of what had happened, no one was overly pleased. The group of four however enjoyed the rest of their evening laughing and talking all happy that the festival was taking place.
There were things that had changed over the past five years like stones being skipped.
First, Damian stopped being so serious and stiff. He would talk, laugh, and joke like most people his age would. He enjoyed his life as he lived it and didn’t insult people unless they deserved it. The press and media saw the change of the Past Gotham Prince and people saw him as he had truly become. A young man with a love for animals who was actually a truly caring person that would help anyone and everyone.
Second, (Y/n) had let her emotions take more control over her thoughts and actions than she normally had. She was able to help as many people as she could both in and out of her job. She was great at her job and people seemed to recognize her as more than just a silent and pretty face. She was a smart woman and was ready for most anything and to help those who needed it. She wasn’t Gotham City’s princess anymore but a Central City Hero.
Third, Jon had indeed moved to Central City and followed Clark’s footsteps as he became one of the best journalists known around the nation. He gave his adoptive parents a run for their money as he wrote and got his stories published. His powers helped him, especially his super hearing which could pick up most conversations that he wanted to hear. He was a favorite in Central City for his writing, it was something that surprised those closest to him but he had a natural talent for it.
Fourth, Bart gave up the superhero gig and started a normal life. He’d get called in about once every year for an extreme emergency and that was all he’d listen to. He didn’t have an easy job as a physicist as it was a complicated task but he enjoyed it none the less. He was one of the best in the city.
Fifth, Bart and (Y/n) had gotten together, but they didn’t go public. Last thing they wanted was for the press and media to find out so they just acted like good friends in front of people. It hasn’t changed the group’s dynamic at all, they were all great friends and that would never stop.
They had changed into people they never thought they would be. All four were happy, glad to have each other and glad to have left.
“Stone skipping?” Damian asked as they got hot chocolate.
“I was naive, thought it was fun. I liked to see how far I could get it to skip before sinking.”
The group smiled and joked around, teasing each other as the winter festival brought joy to everyone there. Even so, Damian couldn’t help but think that people themselves were like skipping stones, they could only go so far before they sunk to their lowest point. It was only a matter of time before someone went to pick them back up again and test how far they could go once again and doing better than before, perhaps even reaching the goal that was set. It was a never ending cycle and he couldn’t help but smile even more as he realized that his sister was like an embodiment of that cycle.

Note: I don’t know why, but writing the last part made me very emotional. When writing this chapter I realized what Damian had and I hope I’ve entertained you! You can message me request if you want me to write something but I hope you all have a good day and enjoyed what I wrote. Also shoutout to @lizlil for being so kind and writing what she had. But shoutout to everyone that liked the story or commented on them.
