this is going to a very niche audience but if any marauders fan has read the shapeshifter series by ali sparkes, thoughts on an au???

remus as dax obv, sirius as gideon, james as barry (bc invisibility cloak??) and then maybe lily and marlene both taking on a mix of mia and lisa. peter as clive too i reckon. snape as spook (and then tie in his friendship with lily as spook's friendship/romantic interest in mia!!)

book 1 with dumbledore being the villain (as the og headmaster, i dont remember his name but the guy who charms people) then minnie (as the lovely french teacher) stepping in as headmistress (she might also have to take on owen's role too bc i cant think of who else could tbh)

OR poppy being owen because the bond she and remus have is so perfect as owen and dax, then have minnie take on the role that tyrone has in one of the later books

then book 2 bringing in regulus as luke and he and james bond over the fact sirius is too busy with family member 3 (i was thinking maybe bellatrix as catherine even though theyre cousins not siblings, but she gives the vibes yk)

i could 100% write this once i finish my current wips and include all six books plus the spinoff series unleashed. if yall wanna know more please say i could talk about it forever

Comment: I really enjoyed the whole atmosphere of this magical AU, Remus and Sirius as outcasts in a very superstitious town who slowly find their way to each other was just wonderful to read, can highly recommend this!

Okay so I am watching Nimona on Netflix and.........a Wolfstar writer wrote this, right? Like. Come on. We’ve got the two knights who are madly in love, until one of them is framed for murder. We’ve got the knight who is framed for murder thrown in prison, and also his boyfriend breaks up with him. Then, a strange feral child breaks the MC out of prison. Meanwhile, his ex-boyfriend is put in charge of hunting him down and bringing him to justice.

You know how dogs are obsessed with feet right? Like when they see them they'll either lick them or bite them. Somehow everytime someone takes their shoes off there's a dog wagging their tails.

Werewolves, shapeshifters, animagus and all magical beings that can transform into a dog, partial dog or similar, and they carry some traits into their mundane lifes

Now, if we mash this two thoughts together

I'm not sure yet what I want to do with this story. Maybe a fic with illustrations.

Thomas is a magical shapeshifting macguffin, who gives others a weapon and ability to transform/color change.

Patton was the first one to get that power when he saved puppy Thomas from a scary black monster. He has cards which can open portals.

Second was Virgil, who got possessed by a monster and later saved by Patton. A lollipop in his mouth turned into his weapon. He can make in big and use it like a sledgehammer, or cause a destruction around him by biting it.

Those two are the most powerful ones. Yet they couldn't save their world, they released a creation that should have destroyed all of the magic. And to not harm themselves they fled into the other world. Things went wrong and they realized they have no home to come back to.

They met others in this new world.

First was Remus. In the old world he was Virgil's best friend, but this one had no idea who Virgil was. But in their first meeting he saw V fight and joined with his bat, helping until Thomas and Patton could join. His bat got an upgrade.

Logan got possessed like Virgil did getting a power of omnivision and smokescreen. He owns a bar and others decided to use it as their base. Patton and Virgil work there to pay for their stay.

Janus and Roman were the recent newcomers.

Roman's weapon is a fan that can be a shield or a blade. He was not happy with it at first, but only because he had no idea how to use it.

Janus' weapon is a feather boa. It can change size and J can animate it to move like a snake. It also has a mouth which opens up after the transformation.

They both have no idea how to interact with the rest, slowly learning the whole story and figuring out their weapons.

it’s so funny to me how wolfstar was like, the most popular ship in the 2000s right after poa came out and the rowling bitch tried to kill it so hard she nerfed sirius and married remus off with the single most lgbt coded woman in the series. i remember reading about tonks for the first time, this shapeshifter with short pink hair and thinking oh yeah she’s a LESBIAN. and she kind of succeeded even, it quietened down for a few years but they have come back with vengeance

👀 Ooooooh, breaking up Wolfstar for Prongsfoot, I'm super into this! Or if you are in a forgiving mood, turning Wolfstar into Wolfstarbucks, I guess. But I LOVE the idea of Sirius pining after James for years and years, and being with Remus because there's no other option, and then suddenly James is back! So much potential for angst and pain, I love it, I need it.

things i want to see in sanders sides that i could only get from fanfics until thomas confirms otherwise

- “king creativity!” what color was he before the split? is HE orange? what was his name?

- why did virgil leave the dark sides? was it just him feeling more at home with the group, was he sent by janus to show power and it backfired, was there an argument among the dark sides? what happened?

- are there any sides thomas repressed so much that they don’t exist anymore?

- why is virgil more of an emotion than a side? was he split from patton? are there other sides like that? (cough cough orange??)

- is logan or roman going to get help first? and how?

- why is janus a snake? remus and virgil have animal motifs, but janus just flat out IS an animal motif?? i know there’s lore behind it, but why the choice to physically make him a snake rather than just give him snake energy like virgil not being a spider but having spider energy?

- how come patton became lilypadton? the sides can shapeshift so he could have easily stopped that. why couldn’t he turn back?

- furthermore, does the other sides’ shapeshifting get out of their control or is it just patton? like if logan gets fed up enough, could he become like a harpy or something and his rage keeps him from turning back? could janus impersonate someone for so long he can’t turn back?

- when thomas forgets something, what side does what to it? does logan throw it away? does patton hold a funeral like a flushed goldfish?

So, I just reread the SCP logs for the Sanders Sides AU and I know you might return to them at some point, but I have a few spoiler questions if you wouldn't mind answering those (feel free to ignore this if you do, or just answer some of them if you only like a few of them, idk, I'm just curious and impatient 😂)

You hinted that Janus has coils and is warm while Virgil can shapeshift to some degree. What exactly are their powers though? Is Janus 'just' a naga or is there more to it? And can Virgil only shift into animals or whatever he wants?

Will Remus and Roman ever be separate? Like can Remus have his own body at some point? In the log Thomas said that Roman is willingly possessed, why?

Once they escape, do they find a safe place to stay? Are Joan, Talyn and Picani with them?

Janus isn't just a naga, it's some kind of anomalous serpent of immeasurable mass with coils that seem unending. There is a way to see the head fully (as far as the foundation knows) but you can get close by seeing the two side by side eyes shadowed in the coils. It also has eyes all over the majority of the coils themselves, but they are more haphazard. There is no way to determine where the "end" of the serpent is, though it's speculated to have humanoid arms somewhere inside. No one has ever seen the tail and all xrays show it's just continually shifting and moving interconnected lengths of bones within the serpent coils, other than the two arms which seem to shift positions, indicating it's continual movement is in fact a constant.

Virgil's shifting isn't like... shapeshifting into animals, it's almost more like mirroring whatever it is looking at. It predominantly has a shadowed form and when it manifests to speak with or copy what it's looking at it will do so and look directly like a mirror of the thing it's looking at. It is unknown if the Virgil scp has a regular form buit it is suspected that the shadowy smoke-like humanoid shape it holds when not directly looking at a person to mimic could be it's original form or the closest to it's original form.

Remus is the thing possessing? the crown and Roman is a willing host to it. They're pretty much around the same age and they just kind of agreed that roman would be possessed by it. whether this was a willing agreement or some sort of mind-altering effect of the Remus crown scp is unknown at this time.

Thomas is an anomalous entity, unknowingly, and is an Arc for those specific SCPs to escape into.
