Remus felt his agitation start to rise

His arm shoots out quickly and snatches the pen before he chucks it across the common room violently. He doesn't look up from his book even with the scandalized gasp and soft sound of the pen hitting the ground.

He turns the page and almost sighs in relief. His irritation slowly going away. Finally some peace and quiet.

Click.

His head whips to the side where Sirius holds another pen. He practically snarls as he slams his book shut, he looks at Sirius and crosses his arms.

"Sirius, for my sanity...what the fuck are you doing?" He hissss angrily

Sirius waves him off his finger drifting towards the back of the pen again. Remus latches onto his wrist and waits for Sirius to look at him. Sirius still looks out of it even as he slowly makes eye contact but he doesn't click the stupid pen again, so he counts it as a win.

"Spit it out or get rid of the pen." He gently takes the pen and shoves it in his robe pocket, now feeling concerned. What had Sirius so out of it?

"I just....do you think regulus has been seeing someone?" Sirius asks after a long period of silence. He stares at his hands and then to where Remus still holds him gently.

Remus let's go and sighs. He resists the urge to hex Sirius before taking a deep breath. He looks around the common room and doesn't see anyone who can take over this ridiculous conversation so he powers on. He shrugs nonchalantly, tries to figure out what he knows.

"why do you say that?"

Sirius shrugs and drums his fingers against the table in front of them. Remus twitches, his lips pursing together.

"Just..a feeling. He'd tell me if he was, wouldn't he?" He murmurs. He suddenly stills and whips his head towards Remus

"are you dating my brother!?"

It's such an absurd question, such a stupid silly thing to ask. Remus bursts into laughter, his stomach aches, he can barely breathe. By the time he's in tears he sees Sirius' put out look so he tries to calm down and take this seriously.

"Siri- Sirius please- what are you on about-" he shakes his head and wipes the tears from his eyes still grinning

"Lord no...no I'm not- what don't give me that look!" He exclaims

Sirius glowers at him and pouts, swiftly turning his body away from Remus in a childish way of saying 'im mad at you'.

"Did you want me to say yes!? Pads what is your problem?"

He turns towards Sirius with a raised eyebrow

"You said it as if he was gross! I thought you were best friends!"

Remus gaped at Sirius for a moment before pinching the bridge of his nose

"Pads...I can't believe I have to say this-" he takes a deep breath and exhales harshly

"I'm not attracted to your brother but he's still attractive...objectively."

Sirius scowls deeper and huffs

Remus thinks about jumping off the astronomy tower.

"now what's the problem?"

"Well...it's just weird you said he's attractive. He's younger than you and he's my brother!"

Remus' eye twitches

"One he's only a year younger and two he's of age- no wait- you were mad I didn't think he was attractive and now your mad I said he is?"

"Yes! Maybe I'll just go see prongs! He'd never be so terrible to me!"

Oh how wrong he was. Remus almost snorted, he watched as Sirius stomped out of the common room with fond eyes. He was irritated for sure but he was also highly amused.

Pulling out the map he quickly searches for James's name. He isn't surprised to see him far too close to one regulus black. Rolling his eyes he searches for Sirius and immediately chokes on a laugh

"Oh boy...that's not good."

i’m rereading ootp (to my own horror) and like. knowing what happens in that one and the next two books makes that intense, bubbling frustration of being a teenager whose worries are disregarded so much worse.

like, surprise?? the kid whose childhood you’re trying to preserve lost that innate innocence years ago. you want him to be a normal 15 yr old boy but if you keep quiet about the dangers he might not live to see his 16th birthday. and congrats on keeping him safe, i guess—you’ve accidentally ruined the last piece able to tether him to his childhood, but i’m sure those months of torture were worth the farce of normality you craved for him. i don’t think you know that your apologies are like sticking band aids on a fracture. i don’t think you’re aware of how you’re ignoring the breaks, but i’m certain you’re expecting them to heal on their own.

oh, they didn’t? and now you’re treating him like he’s a bubble made of glass, waiting to shatter? but you’re the one to have turned him into that bubble, aren’t you? you’re the one who’s holding him, and it’s not his time yet. not for another two years. and shards of glass dulled with time cannot fell a monster, can they? so please be careful. you still need him. he never asked to be a martyr but he’ll do it because you expect him to; you just need to watch your step because your hands are slicked with guilt, and he’s heavy. he’s struggling. he’ll fall as well, if you let him go now.

“Sev, my father said you can’t come to our house anymore”

Snape looked at Lily with confusion. His small body went tense.

“Why?” He whispered.

Lily was embarrassed.

“He said you could steal something. Because your family is poor. Last week after you came he lost his wallet. He thought you steal it. But he found it in his old jacket”

Severus smiled.

“And that means I didn’t steal it! So I can come can’t I!”

Lily blushed and shook her head.

“No, Sev, sorry. He said it will happen anyway so… I am sorry. We still can be friends tho! Just not in my house”

Severus went silent. He looked down on small river near his street. His mom’s pink blouse looked almost red in river’s reflection. His old pants with lots patches. Severus wasn’t sure anymore would he himself let someone like this come to his house. But it wasn’t his fault.

HERBERT WEST AND DANIEL CAIN

i know their relationship would be toxic. i know that it would be doomed. but that’s exactly what makes it so interesting.

herbert has basically no moral compass. he feels as if if he gets nowhere with these experiments, his work will all have been for nothing. the feeling of caring for dan is foreign to him, and he uses the fact dan cares for him as a way to manipulate him.

dan on the other hand is the type of person who wants to help everyone. he tries to help the woman at the beginning of the movie despite his own exhaustion and knowing it wouldn’t work. he tries to help herbert, whether it was truly because he cared or because he felt obligated. he knew it was likely he’d lose so much because of it.

he tries his hardest to protect meg, and when meg dies he goes to desperate measures ( using the re-agent ) to try to save her. he keeps her in the dark about everything, not wanting her to get hurt or caught in the crossfire.

he grows so attached to both gloria and meg that when the chance presents itself to bring pieces of them back, he takes drastic risks. throughout bride, he still tries to shield francesca from all of this.

despite what herbert does and what he puts everyone dan cares about through, he still cares for herbert. when he and herbert are in the war, he genuinely tries to save their patients, whereas herbert views them as test subjects for the re-agent.

the way dan cares ultimately leads to his demise, and the way herbert uses and manipulates him leads to his own.

herbert is carefully calculated, he's a logical thinker. he's confused when he sees the intimacy with dan and francesca, he doesn't understand the gain from it. there is almost no way to reason with him since he is so set in his goals and opinions. some people say he learned empathy through dan, but all he did is learn how to fake it for his advantage.

every time he does earn an ounce of empathy, he makes himself unlearn it to preserve his mindset and set himself back on his target.

dan is a much more emotional person. his amount of empathy leads him to form connections with almost everybody. he burns himself out with his compassionate nature.

their relationship is so complicated and their dynamic would be practically impossible to achieve in the long term. you're able to see the little moments where dan gives up and burns out due to not being able to protect everyone. it's so complicated and fun to analyze, i love re-animator so much

James Potter Birthday Stream?

hey marauders fans,

if i was to do a marauders themed stream tomorrow for james's birthday, would anyone wanna watch that?

it would be stuff like tier lists, uquizzes, other quizzes, making the marauders on infinite craft, etc. plus we'd obviously listen to my prongs playlist and i might even do a mild cosplay of him for the stream!
