Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Eyes widened seeing Dabi, your boyfriend on the tv. Hearing his voice echo in the room hearing him telling the whole nation who he was. Finding out in real time as everyone else. What a secret he kept.
Hearing his combat boots thunk against the concrete as he stepped inside. You head whipped to the door. Standing up as your fingers danced across the controller to shut off the tv. Coming up to him he looked down at you, his hair different, his scaring spreading more.
You knew what he was doing to himself. You knew how this was going to end. Tears pricked the back of your eyes as you wrapped your arms around his waist. Fingers digging into the leather of his jacket, the warmth of his body filled yours.
"you kept this.. from me.. why?" You peered up at him with a teary expression tilting your head in curiosity. Dabi sighed softly before pulling you closer to his chest, resting his chin upon you head, "I just wanted to keep you safe, keep you away from my past. I didn't want you to think of me differently or try to save me from the past or try to get me to make up with them"
Hearing his reasoning didn't make it any better, just confirming what his plans were. Taking in a shaky breath as you nod, biting your lip as closed your eyes to keep the tears at bay. "I.. I get that Dabi. I do, but.. I don't want you to die" the words fell from your lips, faster than you could catch them. The air hung heavily on his shoulders.
His hand came to cup your cheek as he took a deep inhale, feeling you lean into his touch, his expression mirrored your own. "I know." He spoke gently. "I just want him to see me. I want him to watch me. The look on his face, to see him fall apart-" he was cut off by a sob feeling your shoulders shake "you're falling apart. look at you, you're falling apart right in front of me and there's nothing I can do! don't.. don't you dare Touya" You used his given name, something in him broke.
Red built along his lash line as you reached up to cup his cheek. “Dont you see youre hurting yourself? You dont hate them, I dont think thats the case at all Touya. I really dont. I think youre hurting because you were promised so much. You were promised to be a hero and you got casted aside because of your baby brother.” Touya couldnt help but to think back on his past. How his father got mad at him begging him to stop using his fire as his body couldnt keep up with the usage of it. It was burning him alive. He knew that. “I dont.. Want to watch you just die on me. Please.. I cant fix your past. It will never change your past, I know that. I love you, Im watching you, Im seeing you, my eyes are always on you Touya.” You whispered softly.
Touya felt his breath hitch as he pulled you into his chest once more, feeling his frame shake in your arms. Why did it take this long for him to have been seen? If it was this easy, why did it take so long? “I cant.. heal you. I cant take away your pain or suffering. I dont want it to be too late and I never get to hear your voice call my name again, or feel your warmth wrapped aroun me when I need you the most. When Im scared and youre trying to keep me calm and collected. When Ive had a nightmare and you whisper how Im safe and loved. I cant do this without you Touya. I love you as you are, not who you were.”  Your own voice was filled with emotions, watery and wavering.
“I know I know I love you. So much. Always remember that. Never forget it.” His voice light as a feather a whisper in the wind.
Sometime after this conversation you sat in the same spot on the couch, watching as everything began to fold. Hearing the pain in his voice as he confronted his baby brother; Shoto. They were watching. We were all watching. Panic raising in your chest as you watched, there he was, everyone was watching him. All eyes on him, His family eyes were on him. His body giving out on him as each minute passed. Knees buckling under you seeing him on the ground, burnt, having lost an arm. Sobs wreaked your body, gripping, clutching onto his jacket that he left to you. You should've known then that was the last time you would see him.
And all you had left was a whisper in the wind. A faint sound of your name, carrying his voice to you one last time.
------
Another a.n: Im sobbing, I'm sorry for hurting your feeling.

Being The Oldest Todoroki Daughter
Tumblr media
You're Toya's Twin Sister
The two of you had always been close ever since you were younger
Both of you felt pressured to be good enough for your father, pushing yourselves beyond your limit during training
You two were each other's support
However, things only seemed to get worse
Fuyumi and Natsuo being born made you both happy and worried
Then Shoto came along and your father focused on him, calling Shoto his masterpiece
Both you and Toya felt Jealous since you wanted your father's approval
You didn't hate Shoto, but Toya held more resentment toward the youngest of you all
You tried to make him realize that it was all your father's fault, but he didn't listen
Even comfort from Natsuo didn't help you feel completely better
You, Toya, Fuyumi and Natsuo didn't see Shoto very often, since your father kept him busy with training
You barely saw your mother either
Then came the incident when Rei had enough of the way she had been treated by Endeavor
She ended up pouring boiling water on Shoto's face, which caused her to be sent to a mental hospital
Things became even more tense in your home after that
And one day, Toya died
You were heartbroken, since out of all your siblings you felt closest to him
It was at that point that you distanced yourself from your entire family, even Natsuo and Fuyumi
You hadn't been that close to Shoto, but at that point you barely even went near him
You swore to yourself that you would become a better hero than your father ever could be
Not to make him happy, but to spite him
When you grew up, you made it as a hero, moving out of the home you had grown up in for some long
Deep down, you felt bad for your sibling, but you didn't know how to form a proper relationship with them
You wouldn't even consider trying to fix things with your father
Some time later, you finally found the bravery to visit your mother
Though it was awkward at first, you did end up mending things with her a bit
It made you happy to know she didn't hate you, considering how much you look like your father
She was glad you had moved out and started your own life, and she was proud of you for being such an amazing hero
After visiting your mother, you finally gathered the courage to talk to your siblings again
Fuyumi was the most willing, having missed you since you left the home
Natsuo was a bit hesitant, but came around after a short while
The two of you bonded over the anger you felt toward your father
Shoto was a different story
At first, he didn't really want to see you
Part of him resented you for leaving, and the fact that Endeavor wasn't as tough on you as he was on him
But, after some time, the two of you slowly became close
He really started to feel close to you when you stood up to your father how he was hurting Shoto
He started admiring you after that
He even picked your agency to intern with instead of your father's, which Endeavor wasn't too happy with that
Though, neither of you cared
It felt nice to be close to your siblings after all the time that you had spent barely being around them
You watched as Shoto made his way through UA
And despite all the dangers he faced along the way, he always persevered
During one of your patrols, you met Dabi
There was something familiar about him, but you just couldn't figure it out
It bothered you for a while, until you were given the answer
During what could only be called a war, Dabi was spotted on top of the giant villain
At that moment, you got your answe
Dabi was actually Toya, your twin brother
And he followed through with his plan of exposing your father and all that he had done
You tried your best to stop him, even if he was your brother
You knew your father wouldn't be up for.the task, so you would step up
There was no more Toya, only Dabi

TW: Vague sexual harassment, substance abuse (weed, alcohol, smoking), death and bleeding. CW: SPOILER: Season 6, Dabi’s backstory, PFL, AFO and Shigiraki plot, swearing, vague mentions of intimate acts. Taglist: @marlenemckinnonsleftfoot @sukunasleftkneecap @istoleyourmanho3 @witherfag Masterlist Edit: Part 3 😼😼 Word Count: 2919. Summary: In the stories Rei used to read him, heroes always won. Reality wasn’t a story though. The villains won the Meta Liberation War after 6 years of fighting. With the death of Pro Hero Endeavour, and the reign of All For One, Dabi could finally leave his past as Touya Todoroki. He no longer had family. But what about the past that haunted him to this day. A family that belonged to Dabi, not Touya? One that escaped unborn?
——————————————————————————————————
Musutafu, Japan– it made international headlines.
The Paranormal Liberation Force finally did it.
The nation observed a minute of silence for the fall of Pro Hero Endeavour.
Musutafu was now all for one. And the entire nation would soon suffer the same fate.
Dabi stretched his neck to the left, stretching his right shoulder as he fought the growing tingles in his body. Chills ran up and down his spine as his eyes followed the tears of rain flooding the dimly-lit road.
He loved how empty this street was: no cars, no news reporters. There were no signs of nagging parents and their brat children, and there were no heroes patrolling the streets, strutting up and down like they owned the place.
It was just him and the soft sound of the rain which seeped into his socks, staining them with the remains of what was now All For One’s headquarter city.
Dabi wished to hear the familiar croak of Tomura’s voice: the back and forth banter, the late-night clicks of the video game console. Back when it was just them, the League of Villains. Tomura, Kurogiri, Toga, Twice, and him. Back when he didn’t ruin everything.
Dabi never told anyone, but there was a tiny part of his soul that withered away when he was near All For One.
Dabi felt small. He was 5’9; he never felt small.
But that thing would always tower over him. His slimy touch was forcefully ingrained into Dabi’s skin— that thing touched him like he owned Dabi.
And Dabi hated the way his mind memorised the way All For One used his crooked fingers to tilt Dabi’s head up to inspect him.
“Oh he’s a little doll isn’t he, Tomura? Where do you find these pretty boys?”
He hated the way All For One laughed after; it was a broken wheeze that rang murder in Dabi’s mind.
He watched as All For One forced Tomura to laugh with him, and Tomura’s apologetic eyes wavered when he looked back at Dabi.
He hated Tomura for laughing that day.
But he hated that laugh much more; the laugh that tainted the fresh air they stood in.
Now, Musutafu’s entire air was tainted by that laugh.
Now… Musutafu belonged to All For One. And Dabi could only hear that broken wheeze.
It would follow him everywhere.
So despite the rain’s destructive nature, Dabi allowed the weeping drops of the sky to fill the emptiness inside of him. The cool drops were better than the air.
Dabi was just an empty vessel. Nowhere to go, no one to go back to.
-
The Meta Liberation War quenched everyone’s thirst for blood. The dirt was saturated with the blood of heroes and villains alike.
He found it amusing, he really did as he bore his vacant eyes into the rusting ground. Dabi watched as everyone’s blood mixed together under his foot.
He raised his eyebrows, and chuckled.
‘All it took was death for them to stick together’.
Dabi travelled further away from the battle ground, quite deliberate about the steps he took. He counted underneath a shallow breath.
“Fifty-five, fifty-six, fifty-seven,” until he reached the sixty-second step.
His heel pressed against the seeping soil surging scarlet.
And the world was still.
So still and silent that the gentle wind snuck up on the thin man, and he let out a broken gasp as his knees gave out.
The ringing in his ear struck a bitter note. His chest heaved up and down, up and down, and his eyes were blankly fixed on the ground beneath him. Thick, warm blood oozed through the thin cloth that covered his knees.
Enji Todoroki finally died. And Touya Todoroki was responsible for it.
Touya Todoroki, after 7 years of persistent efforts, was officially fatherless.
Finally, it dawned upon him: after 30 long years, Touya Todoroki couldn’t chase him anymore. He could finally find solace in Dabi.
And Dabi was alone. He had no family.
-
As the joint finally caught up to him, after four or five rookie puffs, the raven man started asking himself what he was doing here.
Surrounded by a group of homeless men who he caught rummaging in the dumpster, they were huddled away into the darkness of a dimly lit alleyway. It smelled like shit, offending his heightened state of smell. Flies picked on the waste scattered below them, their constant buzz creating a monotonous flow.
Dabi peeled his lips open as he felt each individual cell respire on his skin. His heart felt like it was growing inside of him, puncturing his dry lungs, getting louder and faster with each beat.
As a young boy, he saw Enji drink every evening for two years. Dabi used to sneak a sip when he was alone. Dabi was often alone.
He caught Enji with a lit cigarette in his fingers. Dabi stole one and showed it to his friends. Dabi coughed a lot that day.
Enji never touched drugs. He was against it.
Dabi never took drugs; the thought of it never passed him.
“How does it feel kid?”
Dabi’s consciousness was dragged back to reality, the bleak colours of his surroundings painting a vibrant picture.
“I can feel my skin breathing,” he responded, his lower jaw hanging open as he struggled to keep his neck straight.
Howls of laughter echoed in the distance, but the scarred man took no notice.
The joint was held to his lips, and Dabi took another puff.
Dabi wanted to individually itch the surface of his eyes with his nails. It was miserable.
But the ripple of the individual muscles in his cheeks felt so warm and happy when he smiled. That was less miserable.
So he kept on smiling, jaw still gaping. His staples pulled against his grafts, but the molecular traces of marijuana in his bloodstream shielded him from the pain.
Dabi was taken aback– gravity was working exponentially harder against him. A man touched the corner of his lips, the thick and coarse pad of his thumb sending him back, seven years ago.
Oh he’s a little doll isn’t he, Tomura?
“Boy”, the man slurred, “you’re bleeding.”
He shoved his bloodied thumb in Dabi’s face.
Dabi struggled to focus his gaze on the thumb in front of him, switching between double and triple vision.
“Can’t feel it,” he mumbled, his reactions delayed as he scooted away from the stranger.
“Everything’s breathing except these.”
Dabi was mesmerised by the feeling of his grafts against the pads of his fingers. It restored the faint twinkle in his hollow eyes.
“Why are you all fucked up everywhere, boy?”
It took a few moments to register, but Dabi did respond.
“Useless mom, dick dad.”
A unison of delayed ahhhs followed, and Dabi began to feel a knocking pressure trapped in the inner corners of his wide eyes.
“I was never his first choice,” Dabi chuckled. He wasn’t sure if they could hear him. They sure as hell couldn’t understand him, but he was fine with that.
“I was his first born son. No fuckin’ use. Dropped me like I was a waste of time and money.”
The offensive smell of the blunt dug him further away from reality. Dabi was content with his own company.
It would always be just him, forever and always. Because after everyone leaves, you’re left with yourself– your only support.
The more he delved into his loneliness, the louder he heard his skin breathe, it was deafening. And so the silence on his graft became even louder.
For a man who was considered dead all his life, Dabi wasn’t used to his living body. Senses upon senses, he was bombarded with the constant reminder that he was still alive. Even his dead, unresponsive skin felt alive. Because it was the absence of feeling that felt different.
-
Many people would describe euphoria as extreme feelings of bliss and joy. It was this boxed definition that led Dabi to believe that he could never feel euphoria. But in this moment, whilst Dabi sunk deeper into his conscience– his doubts finally quiet, time finally stopped.
And his body finally let go.
The familiar bud of the joint met his mouth again, and he inhaled the noxious fumes until he smoked his fears away into the midst of the neverending clouds in the night sky. The full moon gleamed down on his pale skin, bathing his grafts in a lunar embrace.
Unlike the sun, which beat its scorching rays on his sensitive skin, the moon shyly kissed it, leaving trails of beautiful markings that soothed his aches.
Dabi’s heart was working overtime. Blood rushed to his scalp, and his body completely shut down. There was one name that his heart called for.
A name that belonged to the past. The moon shyly casted a glow on that face too, but it averted its lunar eyes when Dabi defiled his past, leaving trails of burns that caused her aches.
He was wrong.
Touya Todoroki, after 7 years of persistent efforts, had no family.
But Dabi?
Dabi had a family.
-
Dabi woke up to blue skies and a gentle sun peeking behind the stained curtains. His body was sprawled on the tiny bed, his limbs spilling out the sides, here and there. He blindly groped for his phone in the midst of thin sheets, switching it on to check the time.
09:23 AM.
He groaned and threw a dark shirt on top of his eyes, blocking the obnoxious sun as he squirmed to find his sleep.
Moments passed and all he could focus on was the neverending tick of the clock in the corridor.
“Fuck it.”
Dabi slipped on some shirt, and put on some shoes, and slammed the door when he left.
09:36 AM.
No wonder he could hear the tick, the corridor was ghost-quiet.
Routinely, Dabi heaved himself over to the bar, scanning the counter for a quick shot.
09:41 AM.
Toga walked inside the lair, her hands hidden inside the cuffs of her cardigan. Dabi nodded at her as he let out a yawn.
“Everyone die or summin’?”
Toga stared at him, her eyes glazed.
Dabi immediately straightened up.
“Wait, did they actua-”
“She’s gone.”
09:49 AM.
Dabi’s jaw tensed up, gripping the shot glass tighter.
“Who’s gon-”
His body was jolted back into the counter, the loud glass shrieking as it fell from his hands.
“Don’t you dare Dabi. Don’t you fucking dare.”
Her eyes were red. Her fist was clenched around the loose cloth that hung on him.
Dabi averted his eyes from Toga, releasing a shallow breath.
Toga’s chest hiccuped underneath her cardigan, and she hid her face into his chest, staining it with stale tears.
“She’s gone,” she repeated, a broken record.
Dabi clasped his arms around her, his hands patting her head.
09:59 AM.
“She left.”
-
Dabi reached for the flask hidden in his inner pockets. Bony fingers struggled to open it, fine tremors running through his bones.
‘Twenty-one, twenty, nineteen, eighteen…’
Door number eighteen. A few strides away. But the growing feeling of heaviness in Dabi’s feet warned him: it was going to be a marathon.
Countless strangers pointed at the lone man in a tattered, thick jacket. Dabi grasped at the wire fence that separated the long stretches of the park and pavement, muttering something underneath his breath.
The sight of free cars strolling past him caught him off guard every single time. He had no sense of time, no sense of direction.
He was far, far away from Musutafu.
Here, the air felt fresher.
It wouldn’t be long before it was infested either.
But he had to owe All For One some credit.
His reign of terror gave the PLF members a huge leverage when it came to accessing government files.
Dabi flipped through piles of kojin bangō, particularly scanning through documents of 27 year-old mothers, registered births and quirk-hybrids, and a certain family name.
He found everyone’s name, everyone’s identity; no one was safe.
Yet the name his eyes yearned for was nowhere in sight.
Countless days and nights were spent silently begging for a lead. On day 18, Dabi finally left the building, clutching onto a piece of paper close to his heart.
Saira Uchiyama.
Names didn’t match, but it was the only name that he could trace her back to.
Dabi took the final steps up the road, feeling lighter than he had in days.
It was on his right. There was but a sliver of road that separated Dabi and door number eighteen.
His fingers started picking at the ripping cuticles on his nail bed, and the grown man started to track his breaths.
He took a step.
A car honked at him.
“Watch where you’re going!”
Dabi didn’t draw back.
He took another step, and another, and another. One more, maybe two.
He could feel the gravel underneath his boots. Dabi lifted his broken face and a perfect house stared down at him. Pristine brick walls stood proud; the bright toned paint complimented the thriving flora in the yard. It fit in so well with the lines of houses, strong and shielded.
This was someone’s home. Bonsai trees armed the right side of the yard, some trimmed, others growing wild.
There were two floors and a garage; more than enough for a perfect family.
Dabi was stopped by the fence gates that guarded the perimeters. He struggled to get past.
Encrusted in metal, his eyes laid upon the name beside the door.
Engraved in gold letters, it read Uchiyama.
He was a step away from Saira Uchiyama’s front door.
Dabi’s hand reached towards the door handle, but he stopped when he felt the unwelcoming chill of it.
He eyed the doorbell instead. He fisted his hand that was itching to press it.
The drowning noises of children’s laughter bled through his skull from the park that was behind him. The drones of parents buying ice cream, and husbands holding their wives’ hands. This was the type of neighbourhood he was in.
And someone told him. Since when did Dabi develop the need to preserve this?
He was a lone man, half dead. He was disgusting. He couldn’t find her name. Now he was outside some poor woman’s house. Saira Uchiyama. How would she feel seeing a decaying man waiting outside her front door? How would her husband feel if some uninvited scarred freak asked to meet his wife, hands empty?
He felt a thick substance roll past his cheek and drip onto the clean welcome mat.
Dabi pushed his raven locks out of his eyes, biting onto his knuckles as he struggled to maintain a steady breath
His nails moved to pick at the staples underneath his eyes.
He couldn’t do this.
‘I can’t fucking do this.’
Through his bloodied waterline, he looked at the doorbell one more time before turning around.
He couldn’t fucking do this. Dabi didn’t belong here.
He tried to move forwards but his legs were shackled to the pebbly footpath. His rhythmic heart couldn’t let go. His twisted mind forced him to go.
His desperate eyes latched onto the bed of perfect flowers on his right.
Like an open flame, the flowers stole all his attention. Dabi stilled.
Their indigo petals mirrored the deep colour of his dead skin. He was entranced by the bold opening, the beautiful colour bleeding out and reflecting the glimmering hope that built up in his cerulean eyes.
-
“What’s your favourite flower Dabi?” Toga asked as she played with her blunt knife, running her thumb across the blade.
“Typ’a fucking qustion’s that?”
“God Dabi, don’t you know how to have a civilised conversation with someone. I’m just trying to get to know you better!”
“And asking my favourite flower’s gonna do that?”
“It’s called small talk, Dabi.”
He scoffed, pushing past the young girl to rummage through the cabinets.
From the corner of his eyes, he picked up on her amber eyes intently pressing him for an answer.
“For fucks sake. Fine. I’ll do your little small talk”, he gave in, evoking a small squeal from the blonde.
Dabi considered her question for a minute, pressing his tongue against his cheeks.
“I saw these flowers once,” he gulped. “They were blue, kinda like flames. My flames. I saw ‘em in one’a those gated areas. I guess they were pretty nice.”
Toga pursed her lips and tilted her head to the side as she tried to paint a picture in her head.
“Do you know what they’re called?”
“The fuck would I know? Probably one of those fancy rich flowers grown by fancy rich people,”, he shrugged.
“I’ll ask the newbie, she’ll know what they are.”
“Have fun talkin’ to lil’ miss know-it-all,” he scoffed, happy as Toga skipped away, leaving him alone. Finally.
A week later, Dabi found out what they were called as he was sharing a cigarette on the roof.
“By the way, they’re called Rindou flowers.”
Dabi quirked up an eyebrow, his lips curled in a sneer.
“Those flowers you like, they’re called Rindou.”
Dabi’s ears perked up at the small giggle that followed.
“I guess I could say being ‘miss know-it-all’ isn’t the worst thing, huh?”
-
Dabi’s chest heaved as he turned around, his pace fast as his hands inched closer to the doorbell.
Ring.
The wind stilled.
He could hear footsteps run down the stairs.
Click.
The handle moved.
The door creaked open.
It was 09:59 AM.

Enji Todoroki × Reader, angst
Inspired by this Enji 🫠 Warnings: implied smut
The tips of your fingers are cold and numb. Stark contrast of the scalding ache in your chest that radiates through your entire being, bringing tears in your e/c eyes. Your tearful gaze flickers from the fancy invitation in front of you to the silhouette of the man that's been the bane of your existence since you have realized you have fallen for him.
Enji throws you a glance over his shoulder as he redresses. For a second, you thought you saw remorse flash through those devastatingly breathtaking ocean eyes.
"I don't expect you to come," he says, averting his gaze as his thick fingers work the buttons of his dress shirt. The same one he wore this morning to ask the hand of the woman he intends to marry. "But I figure it'd be far worse not to at least let you know."
You were quick to mask your despair with a well practiced smirk. "How considerate of you." You chide, your tone betraying your facade. You fill the following silence with the clicking of the lighter as you set a cigarette ablaze.
Now fully dressed, Enji walks around your bed to sit across from you by the window ledge. He reaches and touches your face, memorizing your beautiful features illuminated by the Musutafu city night lights knowing this will be the last time he'll see you. Like this, at least. With skin in technicolor from the works of his hands and mouth, hair a mess from being under his grasp and from rounds of being tossed around in bed, soft kiss bruised lips that he almost always wounds by biting a little too hard.
He glares at the cigarette between them and asks, "I thought you quit smoking?" He takes the thing from between your lips and you frown as you watch him put it out with his bare hand. "I did." You shrug. "I guess I just can't live without at least one bad thing in my life."
The both of you take a deep breath at the exact same time.
"So I take it this is goodbye, then?" You ask as you look out the window, already knowing the answer.
"I am a lot of things, but I will not add disloyal to my long list of flaws." He mutters. You smile wryly, keeping your eyes on the cars passing below your apartment building. You feel pathetic as you realize you're even considering being a fucking mistress if that meant getting to keep him in your life.
"Was there ever a chance? For you and I?" You couldn't help but ask. Thinking about how in the span of time you spent together, didn't you ever stand a chance in his heart? Despite giving this fucked up arrangement with him your all?
The question had Enji clenching his jaw. He long accepted that his heart is close to nonexistent. All he ever is to him is ambition and greed. But as he stares at you, for a split second, he almost wants to reconsider everything.
You startle when he suddenly pulls you to him, sitting you in his lap and kissing you hard. Salty tears slip past your lips and his, Enji couldn't tell whose it was. Your hands card through his crimson hair in a desperate attempt to keep him in your grasp, reveling in how his big rough hands seem to hold you with the same desperation. Kneading and pulling you bruisingly tight against his body.
But then, he pulls away, leaning his forehead against yours. And you knew your answer when you looked at him. When you saw his eyes squeezed shut, lips pressed into a thin line, nostrils flared as he pushed air down his lungs. He does love you, whether he admits it or not, it's just.. not enough. And it never will be. You never will.
"You are.. despicable." You whisper. "But I already knew that and chose to love you anyway." A sigh of defeat escapes you as you now look at him with pity.
"I hope you know that this marriage, the children you will bear with this innocent woman.. it would not result in you attaining this 'dream' of yours. You're going to put everyone in misery. And I refuse to be one of those people. Not anymore."
"Goodbye, Enji." You murmur as you crawl back in bed with your back against him. The moment you hear the door click close softly as he left, you sob against your pillow that still smells of him.
You probably cursed him the day he broke your heart completely, Enji thinks to himself as he stares at the protesting crowd outside the central hospital. He was still foggy with anesthetics but the ache in his heart was sharp and it brought him to tears.
You were right. You've always been.
And now that he's faced with the repercussions of the poor decisions he has made in the past, he could not help but wonder what if he just gave up on his selfish endeavors and accepted that fact that he can and could have been happy with you.
Sparing Rei, Fuyumi, Touya, Natsuo and Shoto from all this hell he brought to them.
If only he was smart enough then to realize then that maybe, you were all he needed.

In Different Life (Adopted)
What if Todoroki Touya never died at Sekoto Peak, but was adopted instead?
Tumblr media
There was a couple who were hiking on Sekoto Peak and saw the fire burning. They were the ones who made it on time before he was engulfed by his own flames.  Touya’s flames from his body were immediately canceled by the husband who jumped into the lake with him in his arms to cool his body temperature, before being sucked into the void where they landed in front of the hospital. The quick thinking of the two saved him from burning himself alive as well as avoiding getting drastic injuries.
However, it came with the cost of losing his memories such as where he lived. He was terrified out of his mind.
The couple only suffered first-degree burns due to leaving the area as quickly as they did. Sekoto Peak was engulfed by the boys’ flames. It was burned down to the ground. There was a backpack found in the wasteland of Sekoto peak, which belonged to the oldest Todoroki.  It was declared he has died because no one was capable to survive those temperatures unless with quirk. Touya didn’t have a body that was fire-resistant.
Meanwhile, Touya was recovering from his minor injuries at the hospital. The hospital didn’t find any missing children in their records that matched his description. It was when the same one who have saved him, stepped in to take care of him in the meantime they locate his family.
Touya eventually remembered his first name during a trip to the bookstore and was looking at books filled with baby names. The couple provided him with therapy and let him step out of his shell on his own. They showed a lot of patience with him.
Over time, Touya eventually started to love being with them. They spoiled him with endearment while providing any sort of help if he asked. The husband provides him with some training sessions whenever Touya asked for them. The wife created him support equipment to keep him from burning himself, but also cooling his body. He was overjoyed when he was asked to officially be a part of the family since it’s been a year with no kind of trace of his family.
When it was time for him to submit his application for high school, He doesn’t why his body was filled with anxiety because he already knew his adopted parents were supportive of him. They were supportive of his dream of becoming a hero, as long he knew his limits and using the appropriate tools as well.
Both of them recommended him to his top choice, which was U.A due to their positions. His adopted mother was one of the top hero support inventors, while his adopted dad worked directly with pro heroes.
He loves his life and his parents. He wouldn’t change it for the world for it to get flipped upside down. After the Sports Festival and landing in 2nd place. The Number Two Pro hero, Endeavor, which he never got good vibes from was at his doorstep with appropriate paperwork that forced him to get his blood taken for a DNA test.
He freaked out and refused right in front of the Pro Hero. His gut twisted, filled with anxiety and dread. He doesn’t know why, but deep down. He already knew the answer.
His world got crumbled into millions of pieces when the DNA test came out positive. His adoptive parents had to get lawyers because Endeavor wanted to bring them into court to regain his custody of him.
Whenever he saw Endeavor on school grounds, he purposely hid himself and his friends purposely covering him. Even Endeavor did a deep investigation into his life who were his close friends. Touya was uneasy about even being creeped out along with his friends, including his girlfriend [Y/N].

in my head and in my heart, i know for a fact that all 3 todoroki children have really unfavorable habits that they got from endeavor.
fuyumi is mean. just honest to god mean. she doesn't even mean it most of them time. just being everyone's emotional support all the time causes her to suppress her meaner emotions and when someone pushes, it all comes out. but there is nothing in the world sharper than fuyumi's tongue on a bad day.
natsuo, ever the middle child. always there and always forgotten. natsuo is quick to get physically aggressive. never on people, god no. but he'll punch through walls like it's nothing. he's had his fingers broken and set more times than he can remember. he hates this part of himself. he already looks so much like enji, does he need to have his father's destructive rage too?
shouto... where to even begin with shouto. the child kept under enji's thumb the longest. shouto is more like enji than he would like to admit. he eats his food the way enji eats his food, greens first then everything else. he does his morning routine a near copy of his father's. this is what happens when you spend every waking moment of the first 15 years of your life with your abuser. that being said, shouto, ignoring the ever present constant thrum of anger that hides just below his skin, shouts a lot when he's angry. it comes from the chest, booming and seething. it scares people. he knows this and he hates that he cannot stop himself.
they don't like thinking about but when it happens all of them can't help but think i'm just like dad.

the lights in the Wind
Per requested here's part two. this is part one
Dabi x reader Happier ending? still bittersweet
talks of death, spoiler warning still and still not proof read so if there's typos my bad
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
A gasp was torn from your body as you shot up. Seeing Touya next you asleep his head resting against your shoulder, or was until you shot up from the nightmare that had infested your thoughts. Touya stirred a bit as he looked at you with a raised brow, “what’s wrong Doll?” He spoke voice gravelly from sleep. “J-Just a nightmare” You spoke, voice wobbling with each word. Taking in his appearance, hair still black he was perfectly fine.
“We need.. we need to talk Touya..” His eye widened as he looked at you. “How.. did you?” He trailed off as he swore, damn dream walkers. “Listen I-“ he was cut off as you shook your head “No Touya you listen. You’re going to fucking die. You’re going to die and leave me because of your past.” You barked at him as he was taken a back by your outburst. They were talking about kidnapping a student from U.A. He didn’t think that taking the kid was going to cause him to end up in a grave.
“Listen.. I don’t know how far this is.. but, you release a statement on live TV that you are Touya Todoroki. Outing yourself and your family about this. You have a DNA test to also show this.. and you fight both Shoto and your father.. you hurt Shoto really bad Touya.. I know.. I know you have your problems with your family but you’re going to end up dying. Not by them, but you.. you kill yourself Touya. Please, you need to promise me you won’t do this.” You looked at him with a teary expression as he wrapped his arms around you, pulling your head to his chest. “How did you know..” You sniffled as he spoke looking up at him “I had a dream about it. Just now. I held you in my arms before.. the last time.. I felt you.. in my arms Touya.” He sighed deeply as he pulled you into his lap, rocking your frame in his arms as he pressed a kiss against your head.
“Id rather you be locked up and having a hard time seeing you than never see you again. To never hear you calling me again.. I don’t want to lose you. I can’t lost you, don’t you understand that Touya? You’re my everything, you saved me, I was about to die and there you were. I could still feel the warmth of your flames against my skin when you killed them. I know that guilt from killing them eats at you every single day. You’ve cried to me over it, I know it’s haunting, and Im sorry for that but Im not sorry for trying to save you. Please don’t go through with this. I don’t know If I could lose anyone else.” You confessed, words stern as the tears that you tried your hardest to keep at bay. Gripping the collar of his jacket tightly in your hands as he looked at you shocked. You had never taken such a tone with him, let alone been so aggressive before, not that he minded.
“Listen doll-“ he was cut off again as you spoke again “Don’t Touya, I will kill you and bring you back to life to kill you again. It’s not happening do you understand me. I don’t care how badly you hate your family, I don’t want you to kill yourself. They already think you’re dead, is not that enough for you? Listen.. Im sure.. you have your own reasons Touya I do. But I can’t lose you.” You would say it as many times as you needed to get it through his head that you weren’t going to let him leave you for his own self fulfillment. “I will say, I do like the hair white too, I like the black.. but something the white makes you look like an angel.. you’re my angel Touya..” You sighed softly as you leaned down pressing your lips against his own. Cupping his cheeks stroking his skin with your thumbs “Listen Touya, I know youre hurt by your past, but right now, I need you to think about me and you. Do you love me?”
Touya looked at you with a softened expression, cupping your cheek now. “I love you more than anything, I may have my own.. plans and self fulfillment for validation..” He sighed softly as he pressed a kiss against your head before leaning back against the couch. Bringing you with him as he rubbed your back tenderly, reassuringly. “I can maybe rethink my plan or think of another way to get back at my family.  Just.. won’t go too far. I don’t want to lose you either, you.. made me feel things that I never thought I would be able to feel. You made me realize that its not so bad to be around other let alone be alive. You.. have shown me that loving someone doesn’t have to hurt and love shouldn’t hurt. Ive been happy because of you, all those happy things that make me feel alive. Dreams.. that aren’t just dreams and having you stay by me.. I just want to make you smile, I just want to make you smile even through the tears. I never..” He trailed off trying to steady his breathing as he leaned his head back, the red blood filling his lash line. Sniffling as he pets your head gently fluttering his eyes shut. “I thought.. I was just some damaged goods, I thought that I was.. a lot of things but then you cried out for help that day.. you waltzed into my life and changed me, ripping my heart right out of my chest and held it captive ever sense.” His voice trembled before he sighed “When I feel you and hear your voice calling me when we first wake up.. fills me. With so much. I can’t.. when you say those words of love and when Im feeling insecure.. you know exactly what to say, where to touch, how to kiss me. I love you. I love you so much.” He felt your hand reaching up to his cheek, wiping away the blood stained tears.
“Do you promise me?” You spoke softly as you stood on your knees, cupping his face in your hands his blues starring back at you. “I promise to keep going, just for you.” He spoke, a sniffle coming from the both of you as you pressed a kiss against his lips.
That night the wind was as gentle as the gentle touches against each others skin. Whispering calls of each others names in words of affirmation. He was like the whispers in the wind, but at least he kept you by his side even on the stormiest of nights.

If Dabi never became a villain
꒰Touya Todoroki Headcanons + If dabi was a hero + Light Angst + todoroki family꒱
Tumblr media
If he never became a villain what would his life look like?
He had run away to the forest to train and had burned himself in the process, he caused a huge fire and almost died. He was sent to the hospital and was treated for his wounds, and he got healed by a doctor who specialises in healing scars so he doesn't have the famous dabi scars everyone knows and loves. (he was 12 btw in my headcanon)
His father enji was so upset at him and at his mother. He threw a temper tantrum over how Rei (his mom) couldn't keep an eye on him while he was gone. Touya had come home after the accident he was all over the news for causing a fire and almost dying.
One day while he was home his mother was in the kitchen and snapped at Shoto and well we all know how the infamous Shoto backstory goes.
Touya, fuyumi and Natsuo all rushed in to help Shoto, while Rei was trying her best to heal the burn she had left behind.
Eventually Fuyumi called the hospital, Enji was contacted about what happened and when he got home he sent Rei to a mental hospital.
Once his mother was sent to the hospital Touya was forced to look after his siblings most of the time because Enji was very busy around that time.
Touya was like his sibling's other parent
Touya would do a lot for them, for example, when his mother left, Shoto couldn't handle the change and had a lot of meltdown because he had autism (they didn't know at the time). Shoto was so used to his mother tucking him into bed so now Touya would do that. He would sing the songs she would sing and all. Shoto really appreciated it even though he never verbally said that.
Touya still resented Shoto for "taking his spot" as the favourite child but he wasn't a monster.
He acted like he hated his father but deep down he still wished he would look his way.
Eventually down the line around 16-18 years old, Touya was heavily involved with alcohol and drugs.
His father tried to convince him to go to rehab. He eventually did but he wasn't happy.
Hey everyone! I'm pretty new to this so i hope this was okay :)

Chapter One: MONTAGE (Year: Early 2117)
It’s the first day of my repeated year, and not a single person even looks in my direction. The reputation I built for myself isn’t exactly helping; I’d nearly incinerated another student who was talking shit about my sister last semester. He deserved it; it’s a shame he wasn’t in the ICU after what he said. Nevertheless, every single person in the Private Hero Training Academy avoided me like the plague. I skipped orientation this year, thinking it wasn’t worth it. I’d just be paired with yet another loser who would always find an excuse to not be my roommate and switch out; I didn’t care to make friends anymore.
I sit quietly at the smallest table in the corner of the cafeteria, my hair falling over my eyes as I stare emptily into the bowl of noodles. I shove it to the side; I’m not in the mood to eat anything right now. Tears prick my eyes as I think about what happened when I was home last week.
“IT’S ALL YOUR FAULT! IF YOU WEREN’T SO DAMN WEAK HE WOULD BE ABLE TO HANDLE IT!” My father bellowed at our mother as Natsuo, Fuyumi, and I struggled to keep Shoto sheltered from the noise of the violent slaps that echoed through the house.
“HE KNOWS NO DISCIPLINE!”
SMACK!
“HE KNOWS NO MANNERS!”
SMACK!
“HE IS A FAILED EXPERIMENT!”
SMACK!
I suddenly break down and put my head on the table, resting my forehead on my arms so no one will see my tears. ‘I wish I didn’t exist anymore.’ I think to myself...
...
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!
A rapping noise echoes on the wooden table.
“Hey, you’re Toya, right?” A sprightly voice calls. I keep my head down, staring at the darkness that I formed in the shelter of my arms. I try to keep my body still so they can’t notice I’m crying, and I struggle to stop.
“Who wants to know?” I gripe, keeping my voice steady.
“Oh, I’m Keigo Takami! I’m your roomie this year! Hey, are you okay? Or just tired? Hope I didn’t wake you up,” Keigo laughs.
“Are you new or something?” I snap, not in the mood to talk.
“How’d you guess?! Yeah! I’m a first-year! Ready to become a hero! Anyway, is it okay if I sit here? I don’t really know anyone yet.” Before I can say anything, I feel him sit down next to me.
“Are you gonna eat your food?”
“Not hungry,” I say flatly. I briefly activate my Quirk on my face so all the tears evaporate, but no one can see it the way I have my head down.
“Then why’d you get it?”
“You ask a lot of damn questions don’t you,” I growl before raising my head to look at him. Keigo Takami’s Quirk is obvious at first glance. The fifteen-year-old sports an elegant pair of feathered, red wings on his back. He returns my glare with a bright smile, and an emotion I’ve never felt before rips through my entire body.
“Are you not scared of me?” I ask, indignantly, but, once again, Takami just returns my venom with warm, caring eyes.
“Why would I be scared of you? Hey, did you know your hair is turning white?” Keigo points to the white streaks that pepper my crimson hair.
“Stress. And my mom’s Quirk.” I mumble, suddenly wishing I had a hood that I could pull up to hide it.
“Oh. That’s cool. I guess. Hey, you sure you don’t wanna eat anything? You can have half of my sandwich!” He extends half of his PB&J to me, but I put my head back down. Keigo shrugs, and, then, his eyes light up.
“OH MY GOD! I ALMOST FORGOT TO ASK! Your last name is Todoroki, right? As in Endeavor’s son? What’s it like having such an awesome Pro Hero as a dad?” He excitedly asks, and my brain fills with screams.
“I WON’T LET YOU SLEEP UNTIL YOU’VE PERFECTED THIS MOVE! GET UP!”
A phantom pain in my stomach forms where I got kicked last week; I’d forced myself to stand and finish the exercise, burning my shoulder in the process. I feel my emotions setting my Quirk into overdrive; I’ve gotta get out of here. Without saying a word, I immediately stand up and walk out of the cafeteria, leaving Keigo alone, worried, and confused.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
A Few Months Later
(Almost the end of the First Semester)
“DAD I DIDN’T MEAN TO HURT SHOTO!” I scream as I wake up from a horrible nightmare...well...a memory. I’m covered in cold sweat, and I’m shaking uncontrollably. A faint blue glow permeates the darkness of the room, and I panic as I realize I’ve set my pillow on fire.
“SHIT SHIT SHIT!” I whisper heatedly as I get up on my knees and struggle to put it out with my trembling hands, burning myself. I bite my lip as I endure the pain to snuff out the flames, leaving a tender red mark in the middle of my palm. When I successfully put it out, my mind flashes with my father’s terrifying, furious gaze; all I hear is my mother and my siblings screaming at me. I continue to shake uncontrollably and begin hyperventilating. I stare at my open, shivering palms...The weapons that I used on my little brother. It was an accident. But that didn’t change the fact that it happened. If Mom hadn’t acted quickly, who knows what could have happened. And it would’ve been all my fault. Tears start streaming down my face, as I start rocking back and forth, desperately trying to calm myself down.
“Toya?” A sleepy voice echoes through the darkness, and a feather whizzes by my head before pulling open the curtains on the window, letting moonlight flood our room.
“Are you okay?” Keigo asks as he rubs his eyes and starts to sit up. I say nothing. Words can’t come out of my mouth; my chest is unbearably tight, and my stomach is in a knot. I feel all the color instantly leave my face.
“Trash can,” I manage to croak out as my dry mouth suddenly fills with saliva. Thankfully, as soon as I heave, a flurry of feathers brings a trash can to sit in front of me on the bed. I grab it quickly and thrust my head into it as I get sick.
“You’re definitely not okay.” Keigo’s worried voice is at my bedside next to me; he must have gotten up. I breathe heavily as I lurch again, and Keigo sits beside me before patting me on the back; I flinch at his touch and retch until there’s nothing left in me.
“I hate everything,” I cough as I try to catch my breath, water leaking out of my eyes. I spit into the bucket to get the horrible taste out of my mouth.
“Even me?” Keigo says in a sing-song voice, and I look up briefly to give him an annoyed glance. He hands me a rag, and I snatch it from him, wiping my mouth before setting the trash can and the rag on the other side of my bed. Just in case.
“Did you have nightmares about your dad again?” Keigo asks, concern in his voice. I shudder and nod, squeezing my eyes shut.
“You should probably be on something for those night terrors and panic attacks. That’s not healthy. You can’t just keep throwing up dinner every other night,” Keigo touches my shoulder, and I shrink away from him.
“My folks wouldn’t care even if they knew,” I mutter as I feel the waves of anxiety and dread flood my body. I start to move to go back to sleep, grappling with the covers, forcing Keigo to get off the bed.
“Do they not know?” He asks.
“There’s a lot they don’t know,” I growl, turning my body away as the tears start flowing down my face again. I pass out from pure exhaustion.
...
Two hours later, I wake up screaming again, except this time I can’t move. I’m paralyzed with the fear of my dad’s gaze burning into my very soul; I whimper and shake, hating how pathetic Keigo must think I am.
‘Dad’s right, all I ever do is show weakness.’ I keep my eyes shut, trying to calm my dark thoughts and not jump out the window to end all the pain once and for all. ‘It would be so easy just to hit the ground from how high up we are… the seventh floor….I doubt I’d even feel anything. And then, my family wouldn’t have to bear the burden of me anymore.’ With eerie timing, I feel the paralysis fade away. ‘This is my sign.’ I think to myself as I take a deep breath and prepare to roll out of bed and end my life. Suddenly, I feel a warmth surrounding me, and my body freezes.
“It’s okay, Toya. He’s not here,” I hear the familiar voice whisper as I open my eyes and see a pair of red wings enclosing me in an embrace. I instantly think to push him away so I can finish what I started when a wave of calm washes over me as the feathers brush my face. They’re very soft and comforting...something I don’t feel very often, if ever. My nightmarish thoughts seemingly melt away as I lean into the wing, allowing my senses to fill with something other than physical pain and emotional numbness. Keigo gingerly drapes his arm over my shoulder, limply pulling me toward him.
“If you want me to go away I will. I know you don’t really like hugs. But...You looked like you needed one badly,” Keigo’s voice echoes through the silent room. I roughly shake my head as I bite my lip and let my tears flow. This time, it’s a mixture of emotions that sparks them; the normal ones: fear and anguish, but also: peace. I squeeze my eyes shut and focus on the silky feathers and the sound of Keigo’s breathing, my shaking breath slowly calming down to a smooth even pattern. My chest fills with a warm glow that I’m not used to; whatever it is, I know it isn’t my Quirk because it’s the complete opposite of pain.
“Thank you,” I choke out through my tears as I sleep peacefully for the first time in my entire life.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The Beginning Of The Third Semester
(First Week of September)

I was planning on going home for the weekend, but my heart told me otherwise. My dad could go to Hell for all I cared. This was gonna be the night I confessed. I’d practiced this for weeks by myself in the bathroom mirror, but my nerves were all over the place. This should be easy considering this was the person that made me realize I swung both ways. But, it’s also the first time I’ve ever felt strong enough to do something about my feelings. I don’t think I could handle rejection though. In fact, Keigo was pretty much all I had to live for lately. I don’t think I’d be able to keep on living in this Hell without him.
‘Keigo. I like you. Let’s go out. Simple enough.’ I think to myself as I splash water on my face. On Friday evenings after class, Keigo and I typically played poker by ourselves. Instead of poker chips, we just used chicken nuggets. I’d put on the only nice outfit that I owned; a black, long-sleeved button-up with black slacks. I kept the top two buttons undone so I didn’t look too serious, and I combed my hair so it didn’t look so spazzy. It had almost turned completely white at this point, and the only trace of red remained at my crown. I take a deep breath and head back to our dorm.
...
I grab the handle and take another deep breath, trying to hype myself up.
‘Alright. You got this, Toya. Be smooth. Be cool. You can be charming… Right? Just don’t make a fool of yourself.’
However, when I open the door, the lights are off, and Keigo sits on his knees on his bed with the chicken nuggets in a fancy-looking tray instead of lying on the bed like they usually are. He has a candle lit on his nightstand, and, when he realizes I’m inside the room, he seems to freeze up and get nervous. I raise my eyebrow and close the door behind me.
“Where’re the cards?” I ask as I walk over to sit across from him cross-legged on the twin bed. That’s when I noticed that I’m not the only one that cleaned up. Keigo’s normally unkempt hair is neatly brushed, and his feathers even look shinier and more orderly than normal. He’s still wearing his normal black and yellow T-shirt, but it looks brighter, almost like it’s brand new.
“Um, I thought we could...just eat the nuggs tonight instead. And. Uh. Talk?” Keigo stammers, and I see his face flush. I blink.
‘There’s no way we had the same idea. There’s no way he actually likes me back.’
“Okay?” I say as I move to grab a chicken nugget, only for him to slap my hand away.
“I need to talk to you first.” He blurts out, his voice wavering. He’s trying to maintain eye contact with me, and his feathers start to ruffle. I can see the sweat on his forehead, and a small smile forms on my face.
‘Oh my God, he DOES like me back!’
“Listen, you’re my best friend. And... And, I hope this doesn’t ruin what we have, but, I-” He stumbles over his words as I slide the tray to the side so nothing stands between us.
‘Fuck it, I’m just gonna go for it.’ I start to close the space between us, but Keigo is oblivious as he closes his eyes and takes a deep breath to confess.
“What I’m trying to say is: I L-”
I stop his words short as I kiss him, and he makes a surprised noise before completely relaxing. He kisses me back, making my heart flutter, and, for the first time in my life, reciprocated love washes over me. He starts to lean back onto the pillow, and I move with him, positioning myself so I’m looming over top of him. His wings start flapping, and I laugh as I break the kiss, propping myself up on my elbow and looking down at him with a smirk. He stares up at me with huge eyes, and I laugh again.
“Warn me next time you’re gonna do that,” He whispers, his face beet red. I’ve never seen him so flustered before, and it makes me grin even more to realize the kind of power I have over him.
“Okay, here’s your warning,” I say as I lean down and kiss him again. He reaches up and limply puts his hand at the back of my neck, pulling me closer. My heart feels like it’s going to beat out of my chest. I’ve never ever felt like this before, but I love it. For once in my entire life, someone cares about me just as much as I care about them. I run my hands through his hair as I breathe him in. He reaches up with his other arm and starts undoing the buttons of my shirt. Before he gets to the last one, I grab his hand tightly and pull away from the kiss.
“We’re not fucking. I want to make that clear,” I say, bluntly. He can’t afford to get too attached to me...just in case. Keigo rolls his eyes and jerks his hands away from my grip before undoing the last button.
“There are other things besides that, hothead,” He whispers as he slides my shirt off. I smirk and lean back down, slipping my tongue in his mouth, making him make another surprised noise; his wings stiffen for a moment. I reach over with my other hand and snuff out the candle, surrounding us in complete darkness. My heart thuds as my tongue dances with his, and I start grinding up against him. The sensation is intoxicating, and I grind rougher as his hands slide up my abs and my chest. My body seems concerned at the random influx of dopamine that is never present, and my entire being is tingly with a warm, positive feeling. I break away from the kiss as we both start breathing heavily; I move to kiss his neck.
“I love you,” I let the new words drift past my lips without even meaning to say them aloud; I don’t even care if it’s too soon to say them. I can’t help how I feel. My heart swells as I hear him echo my words; I leave dark marks on the side of his neck and start to move further down when he pushes himself up with his wings, knocking me backward on the bed. I blink in surprise and start to push myself up.
“Whoa whoa, wait a second, birdbrain. I’m the one on to-” Keigo kisses me before I can finish my sentence and starts taking my pants off. In a panic, I hold my hand up and let a small ember burn as a warning, causing him to break the kiss.
“I said no fucking!” I snap, feeling betrayed.
“Relax, Toya. I said there are other things,” His words hang in the air, and he starts trailing kisses from my neck farther and farther down my body. I fall silent as the night air consumes us...
...
...
The next morning, I wake up in my boxers with Keigo fast asleep on my chest. I smile down at him before abruptly realizing that last night was the first night in years that I didn’t have a nightmare or a panic attack. I trace his feathered wing lightly with the tip of my finger, causing him to stir awake.
“Good morning,” He yawns, stretching and sitting up. A smile creeps across my face before I can hide it, and I tousle his hair.
“You know we can’t tell anyone about this, right?” I say quietly, and Keigo frowns.
“Well, why not?” He snorts, climbing off of me and getting out of bed to get dressed.
“We just can’t,” I say as I put my finger on the candlewick and ignite it, giving the room a blue hue.
“Too bad. I’m still gonna try to hold your hand, and you can’t stop me.” Keigo laughs. I rub the sleep from my eyes.
“Fine,” I grumble as I climb out of bed. Before I can get my bearings, Keigo hugs me tightly.
“I knew there was something beneath that tough guy act,” He smiles, and my expression softens.
“Come on, we gotta get ready for practice. I reserved the training room for this morning,” Keigo says in his sing-song voice as he flaps his wings, lifting himself off the ground. I smile and get dressed before he opens the window. I raise my eyebrow, and he just grins before holding his hand out to me. I tentatively take it, and I cling to him as he sails out the window into the open orange sky, heading toward the training field.

An Empty Vessel pt.3 (Dabi x Fem!Reader Dark Angst)

Please remember to take care of yourselves, and enjoy. As always, I would love to see your thoughts in the comments :). TW: Substance abuse (alcohol, smoking), small mention of mass murder and a reunion with abusive lover. CW: swearing. Taglist: @marlenemckinnonsleftfoot @sukunasleftkneecap @istoleyourmanho3 @witherfag @porusuniverse @iluvoaldmen @genshinsimpforlif @shadowmoonlight0604 @simpsimpson2023 @crybab7 @kaeyastittysucker @jennieyeager @an-ever-angry-bi @gyarukitti Masterlist Word Count: 2207. Summary: Saira Uchiyama. His past had caught up to him in the form of a family– Touya Todoroki had no family but Dabi could not deny the existence of his. The existence of a family that had driven him to search for a name he had never even heard of. Dabi's fragile world unravelled; every single thread forced him to confront the consequences of his actions. Was it even her? The one he had beat and shut out of his life? Dabi’s mind hurt, because it finally intertwined with the realisation of the irreparable damage he had caused.
——————————————————————————————————
Dabi has had his overcoat for a long time.
It was the first thing that was ever made for him, and only him.
He never had to share it.
The material was light; he could move quickly without the weight dragging him down.
The material was heat-resistant, so he didn’t have to worry about incinerating his clothes during a fight.
His clothes allowed him to let go. Dabi could explore the forbidden fruits of his full potential because the material allowed heat to escape– because of the fabric’s ‘enhanced breathability’ or something. He never paid attention. But it worked, so he always had it on.
Dabi made his way up to the roof, ignoring the small cries of his name from the distance. It wasn’t on purpose though– he couldn’t concentrate on anything else. His mind had to work hard to think about nothing. Because if his conscience took over, his chest would collapse.
There wasn’t anything left inside of him anymore. That’s what he had recited every waking day of his life as Dabi. But God, he needed a cigarette– to fill that hollow feeling inside of him.
A few long puffs always did the trick. Although it felt best when he was on the roof, legs hanging off the ledge.
One of his favourite hobbies was to look at the city under the glistering stars.
Yokohama never slept. The little toy cars had small people that were always going somewhere. Their blinking red lights mirrored the sea of stars on the bumpy road. At such a distance, where cars disappeared from one end to the other, that journey seemed so mindless. Yet still, everything felt like… like it was still in place. As if everything about this world was truly intentional.
Dabi dragged a longer puff, throwing his head back, succumbing to the gentle breeze and his thoughts.
But in the end, you couldn’t make out any face, let alone their identity. Everything became insignificant. All that mattered was the action.
Dabi could distinguish between a walking figure and a jogging figure. Whether they were alone or with others.
But in the end, everything else was insignificant when he was above them all.
So far up, that if he fell– right now– he wouldn’t come back.
Anyone could push him off.
“There you are!”
Dabi grimaced. His soothing bubble had been forcefully broken, and he was dragged back to reality. He had his suspicions on who it was.
“I thought we could use a drink or two.”
His eyes glowered at the approaching figure. He could never be left alone. But when the bottle of scotch was handed to him, the interruption wasn’t too bad after all. Dabi jerked his head towards the empty space beside him.
He could hear careful steps approaching, then cautious shuffling beside him.
Had he stolen a glance in his peripheral vision, he could watch the gentle breeze tease her hair, sweeping it left and right.
He felt a chaste glance on his face.
There was a thin, yet strong wall between them. It was thin enough to talk through– although it left no room for subtlety. It was thin enough for them to warm each other. But if they tried to cross it, they’d have to break it down, and crush the other under the weight of the wall.
There was a lingering sense of emptiness that filled the night sky.
Empty smiles, empty vessels.
She drew in a breath, but no words followed, as though she had forgotten how to speak.
“Today was…” she started, only to falter off into silence, her hands rubbing at her arms.
Dabi had his overcoat for a very long time.
It was the first thing that was ever made for him. And only him.
He never had to share it.
But it felt way too heavy today. And despite the gale tightening its frosty clutch, Dabi could feel his body heating up.
“The plan was successful”, Dabi replied flatly, “that’s all we need to care about”.
He pushed his discarded jacket towards her. She slipped it around her shoulders.
The League’s attack on downtown Esuha was broadcasted globally, and they had finally reached the headlines of every news article.
‘Bloodshed Strikes Downtown Esuha as Villains Unleashed Devastating Attacks’
After years of failed plans, the League of Villains had finally succeeded.
No man, no woman, no child was left. But it was all worth it.
Wasn’t it?
Their plan was the highlight of every media discussion.
Dabi took a larger sip of his drink, bathing under the serene wave which washed over his inhibitions.
And the wall between them felt thinner and weaker.
“D’ya think your mom would ever sacrifice herself for you?”
The vivid images of fresh blood and visceral screams haunted their mind.
“What did that woman say again?” Dabi asked, his voice cracking, “‘take me, but please, leave my baby alone’... That’s what she said right?”
Both of their eyes lowered. The alcohol and the little food he had consumed was kicking against his stomach lining, irritating his abdominal grafts.
“‘She has a long life ahead of her. Please, please, don’t kill her please’”, Dabi heard a sniffle. “That’s what she said before we…”
He felt sick.
“That’s what we do, doll.”
He met the pain in her eyes. They were a mirror.
Dabi clenched his jaw before looking away.
She did too.
Dabi began biting his fingernails, and her hands fidgeted with the glass.
And then they looked at each other again, somehow closer than they were in the beginning.
“I don’t know if my mom would ever do that for me… But, I-hm…”
A dry chuckle followed in a feeble attempt to humour the situation.
But Dabi finished her unspoken sentence.
“But you would, right? For your child,” he asked, furrowing his eyebrows and squinted, trying to make out some of the writing on the tall buildings afar.
“Any mom would do that for her child.”
“Didn’t you just say th-”
“Any good mom would”.
No one spoke. But they shared a knowing look, before averting them back to the vastness of Yokohama.
“But to be honest…” She took another sip of her drink. “If I had a baby, I’d never live in Musutafu.”
Dabi let out a snort, thus earning a playful shove in return.
“Oh yeah? Then where would you live, fucking Minato City?”
It was her turn to snort.
“You think I’d live in a rich neighbourhood to avoid being a target of criminals and villains?” She scoffed, slurring out her words. “I know I’m the newbie but you have to give me some credit, Dabi.”
He rolled his eyes, yet they still urged her to continue.
She thought for a moment, her gaze wandering off into the distance, before she continued again.
“There’s this place, just outside of here. It’s called Yosai. It’s this remote residential area. And, um. It takes around 30 minutes minimum, to find any markets, or- or any offices or clubs, and you know, all that stuff. I think, for most people, it’s like- really boring. And that’s why it’s so isolated. No one even thinks of going there because there’s literally nothing. There’s a park, and a local school– I think, but there’s no one. Nothing. There’s these houses- a lot of them! A bunch of houses with no one to live in them”.
It was weird, to be talking, uninterrupted, for this long.
“I guess”, she shrugged a bit, blinking a few times. “Recently, people have started building roads and stuff for cars now. So they can actually do something. But yeah. Zero reported crimes and it’s been there for a few decades. So yeah, if I had a family, I’d go there”.
She looked intently at Dabi, who didn’t say anything.
But he moved closer, leaning forward, sitting upright. He scanned her jittering hands before searching in his pant pocket. He raised his eyebrows at the cigarette in his hands. She nodded. So he lit it, pressed the ends to his lips and inhaled before giving it to her.
He watched her lips touch the cigarette. Where his lips were.
“There’s actually this property under her maiden name- my mom’s. There’s still some legal stuff I need to sort out before it actually becomes mine. It’s like this, it’s so stupid, because it’s like obviously none of us use that maiden name anymore. But because of that they can’t give it to us. I don’t even know… But I guess it’s nothing too difficult”.
“Ah”. That was all he could say. But when he peered into her expectant eyes, there was a sudden need to elaborate. Anything better than ‘ah’ at least.
Dabi felt dizzy.
“Umm… What's your mom’s maiden name?”
“It’s Uchiyama.”
When his delayed voice finally caught up to him, Dabi winced.
“Fuck”, he muttered. It was a stupid question, but he wanted to make sure that she knew he was listening.
They were closer, breaths intertwining with each other under the watchful eye of the moon.
-
There weren’t any buses that travelled from Musutafu to Yosai. Dabi made his journey by foot.
Thus, during this four day journey, Dabi became well acquainted with people.
And he noticed that a lot of people in Japan had blue eyes. After the emergence of quirks, blue became a common colour for many. The truly rare ones were pink, or purple now.
But Dabi’s eyes… they were different.
His eyes.
They were handpicked from the colours in the cerulean depths of the stormy sea. Whispers of secrets remained untold– that’s why no one could have the eyes that he had.
Never.
They were gleaming– echoing the beauty of the lights in the North. Depending on how you looked at them, they were teal, or sapphire. One thing was indisputable– the arctic chill they’d give when he’d pierce into your soul was breathtaking.
His eyes.
They were simply breath-taking.
So when he towered over a small frame, gaze lowered, he could not explain the way his heart forgot to beat when he stared into a perfect replica of his eyes.
With each beat, lost time unfolded in front of him.
And he noticed the slight difference in the silent expanse that he had gazed into.
There was an innocent reflection of the North Star twinkling in their genuine, rolling waves. Dabi’s eyes were an abandoned lighthouse.
But, what alarmed him the most, was when those flawless replications turned frozen. Dark.
Petrified.
Dabi's heart ached as those eyes formed fog and mist, obstructing him from reaching the truth that was hidden beyond the plane of sight.
His knees surrendered under the accumulating guilt of his past. And so his tears fell, trying to escape the grief and strain his weak body had repressed for so long.
“Honey, are you okay? Who’s at the door?”
Icy tendrils spiked through him, and his breath was captured without a fight. In the wake of realisation, his body signalled all the alarms they could, telling him– no, begging him to run, but, his blood had turned to ice, and he succumbed in the paralysing grip of his inevitable fate.
“Sana, are you okay…”
He heard the voice taper away, followed by a sharp clink of a metal spoon. His laden head fixed itself downwards in shame, guilt, fear…
“Dabi…?” Those words drifted out in a hushed tone. As if they were trying to protect the young girl, who now hid behind her mother.
He braced himself for the hardest task he would ever have to face.
And in that split second, his breath had returned, and he let out a short exhale when he finally saw that face materialise from his past.
Y/N.
It was you. Saira Uchiyama.
After 6 years, 8 months, and 19 days of navigating through the circular journey of denial, anger, bargaining, and depression, Dabi finally had the chance to reach the beacon of acceptance.
His shoulders slumped, as short breaths hiccuped through the dark caverns of his chest.
He had finally found you.
And he had finally found the end to his coveted quench, which yearned for a solace, only to be found in your longing embrace.
Softly, a bewildered whisper escaped his lips, barely denting the silence around them.
“Doll…?”
Dabi watched as the maturer skin scrunched together, deep lines frowned at him. As the tenderness in your heart had to be locked away inside an untouchable crevice in your body.
“Sweetie, I need you to go upstairs okay”, you ordered sternly.
You pushed your daughter behind you, blocking Dabi’s protesting hands before they touched her.
“Mommy, he’s scaring m-”
“Sana. You need to go upstairs. Lock the door and close your windows.”
Sana.
Her name was a painful reminder of the blank pages he had failed to fill as her father. How could he have written anything?
He didn’t even know what the title was.
“Never fucking come near my family again”.
Those blank pages began to rip.
“You disgusting freak”.
The blank pages had burned to ashes, and Dabi was left outside on the suburban patio of a perfect neighbourhood.
Maybe, if he found a place to wash his face, he could blend in with the garbage.
