(@askpokemoncrossover) Sai @ Calamity: Sai looked at the spirit's semi-see-through state and if she could sense spirits or energies of any kind. She would detect... something strong from him, was it his own spirit? The remains of another? But either way, it was fueling him with life and the odd-eyed Lucario did a short bow to the Giratina before him
"It's... an honor to meet you as well, Calamity." Sai said a tad nervously before giving Silas a concerned glance before looking at her worriedly and spoke to her alone. "He wasn't always like this, you mean to say? You said your previous host's impacted him negatively... what were they to you and Silas if i may ask?"
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"My host, she treated her Nymphs as pets. Something she could dispose of when she became uninterested."
Tumblr media Tumblr media
"I regret my actions towards my followers, Nym and all those children my host stole." She sighed sadly, it seemed the tiny spirit genuinely felt remorse. "I greatly wish that I could reverse those many years I worked with her, but what is done is done. I cannot change the past actions of my predecessor." "I don't recall if I showed myself to Nym, But, I'm positive he could see me after I bestowed my gift. In other words."
Tumblr media
"Thank you once again. I do not know what would have happened if I connected to Nym's energy instead." She thought for a moment, drifting aimlessly as she did so. "I believe I am thankful for his many rejections now. Nym does try to refrain from repeating those horrid things my host did, but he cannot truly escape her influence. I fear I would have returned to that spiteful spirit I once was. I do not know why I thought that was a proper idea, my judgement was clouded by a desire to be whole again." "Now, As to what happened to my host? Nym is the one that killed her. That, however, was almost 5 decades ago." "I don't know why but when he stood there frozen and full of fear, my previous iteration granted him the courage he needed to kill my host. Even if that did result in my predecessor's death as well. But yes, to me she was nothing more than another host and to Silas, she was much more. I hope that satisfies your curiosity at the very least."

How would the ROs react if MC came in the room looking worried, took the RO's face in their hands and said "oh no, this isn't good!". When the ROs ask what's wrong, MC says "you haven't met your daily kiss quota yet!! We gotta fix that!" then peppers the RO's face with smooches
I’m so sorry anon, this took me embarrassingly long to get to. I kept going back and forth between writing short drabbles or just quick descriptions @_@ Still not sure what I ended up writing :))) These are set for the beginning-ish of the relationship, which will happen at different stages in the story for each RO. Under the cut for space ^^
T - How have they gone without the daily kiss quota all their life?
They’d let out a tired sigh and relax against you, hands coming to wrap around your waist. They’d place kisses of their own on your shoulder before letting their head rest on it and just keep you close for a moment, relishing in the feeling of your bodies pressed so close together.
“You were right, I already feel better.” They’d turn their head and press their lips to your throat, teeth grazing the soft skin there. “Let’s never miss our daily quota again.” They’d place lingering, lazy kisses on every inch of skin available for as long as time permitted.
M - You asked for it when you went all cute on them!
“Hmm I don’t think that would be enough, mon coeur.” They’d pull you against them, starting their own little assault of kisses all over your face and neck, relentless in their task to shower every inch with love.
“I vote we raise the quota.” The kisses would start going lower and lower, one hand trailing a path down your chest that their lips would shortly follow. Their other hand would linger at the helm of your undershirt, fingers twisting the fabric, asking for permission to travel underneath.
K - It’s good it’s in their room, otherwise they’d spontaneously combust. “How negligent of me.” They’d let you get in a few kisses before taking over. They’d start with your hand, their lips falling on each finger, then your palm, your knuckles. They’d press butterfly kisses up your arm and neck and all over your face and down again to your collarbone.
“I’ll have to make up for it, won’t I?” They’d pull at your clothes inch by inch, giving attention to every strip of newly uncovered skin. If you permit it, they’d worship all over your body like they have all the time in the world and no other place they’d rather be, unhurried and precise kisses accompanied by their fingers slowly drawing patterns on your flesh.
Q - You’re playing with literal fire.
They’d be initially stunned, completely frozen with eyes blown wide, as you pepper them with quick pecks, hands on either side of their face. When they’d regain composure, their own warm hands would engulf your cheeks, lips pressing down on yours in a sloppy, almost desperate kiss. Their lips are soft, unlike the calloused fingers keeping you close.
They’d let their forehead rest against yours, eyes closed shut tightly, quick hot breaths coming out in waves. Their thumb would caress the apple of your cheeks instinctively while waiting for their heart to stop threshing in their chest.
“We should stop.” Their voice comes out as a fragile whisper, no real conviction behind the words, hands wrapping around you.
J - Trying, and failing miserably, to play it cool.
“Oh no! We have to rectify this immediately!” Jun would immediately drop whatever they were doing and playfully pull you to them. They’d start off as more amused than anything, watching you with the familiar glint of mischief in their eyes and maybe just a hit of pride as you kissed them.
But as your lips would repeatedly fall on their skin they’d tremble beneath you, face getting more and more flushed with every kiss, fingers digging ever so slightly into your sides, wanting you closer just so they can be sure you’re really there.
“You’ll be the death of me.” They’d breathe out as their lips would search for any slip of your skin available to devour.
R - The what now?
Ren would close the book they were engrossed in and look at you curiously while you press kisses to their face. “There’s a quota for this?”
“No, not really. Just wanted an excuse to kiss you.”
“I see.” They’d trace their fingers over your cheek and jaw, thumb ghosting over your bottom lip. Their lavender eyes would watch for your reaction, taking in every rise and fall of your chest, every flutter of your lashes.
“Do you not like them? The kisses?”
“I never said that.” They’d gently pull your face closer and place a few fluttering kisses to your jaw and in the corner of your mouth. You’d end up cuddled together over their book, and from that day on they would always make sure to kiss you at least once every day, sneaky little presses of their lips to your forehead or your cheeks.

You said to drop my overwatch crush into your inbox so you did this to yourself. I'm here, I'm queer, and I want your thoughts on Ashe, please. My pathetic sexy little lesbian crush
Ask and you shall receive
Ashe and eye candy go together like me and regular candy - oh boy she is decking you out in the most over the top fits and showing you off
Will absolutely cause problems on purpose if somebody isn’t sufficiently impressed by her partner
A lot of casual touching. She noticeably stands really close to her romantic partners and just generally maintains skin to skin contact whenever possible
Also definitely a bitey girlfriend
Fucking adores a good couples costume or just matching outfits. Yes BOB does get roped into it if the costume would be better with three participants (also yes, random Deadlock members are also put in a costume if even more people would make it better)
Seems very casual about it, but will take every possible opportunity to refer to her partner as ‘my partner’ (or appropriate variations; ‘my girl/boyfriend’. ‘My lover’ or ‘my wife’ if she’s feeling bold) to the point where she’ll drop it in places where it seems kind of redundant
Like, she’ll fully drop a ‘[name], who is my girlfriend, did [x thing]’ to a person who knows both of you well
Can’t cook for shit and gets so overly gooey in the knees at the mere idea of somebody cooking for her
Will straight up refuse reviving flowers in public and then later when you’re alone explain that like ‘they’re very nice it’s neat you remembered my favorites but Jesus Christ I have an image to uphold’

Does your character have a go-to 'comfort food'? Something they can pluck quickly out of their cupboard and make when they are tired, sad or just plain don't feel like they can commit to a meal? What is it and how is it made? Is it a comfort because it's associated with something or just because it takes no time at all and warms the belly?
hiii thankyou so much for the ask! i spent days trying to figure out how/when to answer but! going to try with my wol (bringing her out of her cage)
Tumblr media
her favorite is bread or other pastries! preferably freshly baked, but she's not that picky about it. she probably had way worse at some point during her journey.
her go to for the road are some kind of bread (usually stale by then), dried fruits and dried meat but it's more for necessity than comfort.
as for making it, she's a decent baker but if given the option, she'd prefer to buy it her pastries from a vendor in a city state. from ul'dah or ishgard if she gets to choose as they're the closest to what she was used to growing up
during her worst she was often a patron of the forgotten knight, but she has little to no memory about what any of their meals taste like. regardless, they got her through a very rough patch.
(astrid is also fond of chocolate, but she considers it a luxury and doesn't get it too often)
+ 1; there's a bakery in ul'dah that she used to visit with a friend (until that friend disappeared..........) (she hasn't been there since as it would remind her of the memories too much) (the friend in question is minfilia)
+ 2; closest to really comfort food she'd get it sidurgu's cooking. which is the same 2 or 3 recipes of mostly stews that are too spicy for her (little to no spice tolerance)

What kind of campaign are you in? What about your wonderful partymates?
Oh! We’re in a homebrew campaign, based in my DMs world. And kind of campaign is definitely difficult to pin down? To be honest, I wrote my description of my party mates before writing this part, and the word that comes to mind is convoluted. There are so many moving parts that all seem to be looping back to the metaplot about how because of the events that happened in a previous campaign that took place in this world, the prime plane was closed off from the lower planes, which caused irredeemable souls to be trapped on this plane, unable to enter the hells, which is why Asmodeus wants my boy to deliver souls to him. We see a lot of themes about souls, like a type of magic called animacy, which is like a combination of enchantment and necromancy, and controlling of souls. And this magic can be used to control people absolutely and create animantic vampires, or vampires that consume souls, while also creating people like my boy, who’s heart runs on this animancy magic, taking parts of souls to fuel it. Then we have the changlings who we are currently learning are part of this too. Overall, it’s a pretty dark campaign, but we always find ways to lighten it up.
Party mates include— and buckle up, we have 8 PCs:
Lilliana, our high elf Battle Smith. She’s an awkward young woman, but she means well and probably the most ride or die of our party. She comes from a noble upbringing. She’s a gifted artificer who helped develop technology that could extract magic from items and people. Her parents stole her IP, so she left to find her own way. We ended up having to deal with the aftermath of that a few arcs ago when we found out the head of the academy was developing constructs that she was going to use on criminals who she deemed unworthy of having magic, and giving it to people who she thought should have it. We, uhhh, murdered the head of the academy, destroyed the plans, and destroyed the warforged.
Gihara, our Kalashtar twilight cleric. Born under a lunar eclipse, Gihara and her twin brother have been plagued by a prophecy that said that they were going to bring an end to the world as we know it. She’s a very passive, but compassionate young lady, who’s going through a time right now as we go through her personal arc atm. Changlings are plaguing her homeland and we believe have currently taken her brother and mentor captive. So, our big thing right now is saving them and making sure Gihara doesn’t bring about the apocalypse.
Porter, our yuan-ti wild magic sorcerer. And he is just that. He is our wildcard, through and through. To understand Porter and his backstory, just know that the west is broken up into several different factions and ruled by families of varying levels of horribleness. Porter is a distant cousin of the worst one, but was eventually adopted out to the best one. He loves gold, chaos, and one night stands with important npcs, but most of all he wants to see his birth family burnt to the ground. Also, he lost an eye in the fight with the headmistress of the artificer school, and he took her mechanical eye as a replacement.
Virtanen, our human dragon rider. He is the Chosen One, or as we like to call him The Coming King™. Early on in the campaign, he touched a dragon egg, and out sprung a little gold dragon which he named Aeris. This made him the foretold king that is supposed to unite the West into one nation. He is very well meaning, and much like Porter, wants to see his father burn— an awful man who works for Porter’s cousin— though he’s a bit naive and a little too trusting at times. But, he genuinely wants to do good, working against the horrible people in his city.
Clive, our human ancestral protector(?) barbarian. The “?” Mark is because he actually lost his ancestor that protects him after a serious of events that can only be described as him “fucking around and finding out,” which turned his brother into an animantic vampire. Clive is a self described asshole, but after he got a good hard look at the meta plot, has softened up quite a bit. He and Virtanen are best friends, as he protected Virtanen in the fighting pits when people ultimately found out Virtanen was working against The Bad Families™. Much like Jasper, Clive loves his girl friend very much and 100% fell for a trap that Zariel set to try to get him to sign a contract because he thought it would save his gf from an imaginary future in hell.
Avarrin, our Shadar-Kai Gloomstalker. Avarrin is Batman. He works alone, stalks the shadows, and refuses to use a gun. Maybe not actually the last part, but you get the idea. He’s devoted to the Raven Queen through and through and recently became a champion of hers after he presented her with a contract that would make her a greater god in this world. Overall though, Avarrin is also a very ride or die character, and when I had Jasper go away for a few sessions, he got along very well with my guest character I brought in. Probably because they shared very similar goals to one another and want to destroy a powerful drow matron.
Then we have Alannah, who was a homebrew race with a homebrew class, a lightkin sonnamancer. A lightkin is one of those irredeemable souls I was talking about before that couldn’t go to hell, so basically reincarnated into another person with no real connection with the person they were before. To go into what a sonnamancer is is a lot, so the short of it is that she finds cool magic rocks and they give her different powers. Alannah also came into existence in the West and was a prisoner there for a while until she was able to get away. Currently though, she’s on maternity leave, really solidifying Virtanen’s nickname of The Coming King™ not all of us mature adults, finding out Ali was pregnant and then yelling “HE CAME.” Last session, we were introduced to the person’s new character Guinevere, a sea elf Bloodhunter who is also having problems with changlings like Gihara.
Okay so that was a lot, and not even everyone 😭 We have two NPCs that routinely travel with us too, a wizard and a fighter, Jasper and Clive’s partners respectively. Long story short, I love my party so much. We’re a hot mess, and we don’t always get along, but I wouldn’t want it any other way, tbh 💜

Azriel was not a particularly religious male, offering his acknowledgement to the Mother oftentimes in the heat of battle, on the brink of death as a curse on his lips, hoping someone somewhere would heed his plea to live another day. Whatever religious underpinnings existed within him were but remnants from ancient tradition, built into his body as steadily as his bones. But, aside from the rare moments he’d faced Death and lived, Azriel was not one to offer daily prayers of thanks.
Since meeting you decades ago however, Azriel had considered more and more changing his relative indifference to the celestial beings that reigned. He was sure he hadn’t done anything in his lifetime to deserve you as a lover — let alone a mate — but still the Mother blessed him, and for that he was more grateful than words or prayers could ever express.
Every brush of your lips against his skin, every tender gaze and soft smile was enough to bring Azriel to his knees every night before the altar between your legs. He sang praises and hymns until his jaw was sore, desperate to pull those seraphic moans from the depths of your throat as he worshiped you ceaselessly. He pledged his life to you the moment the bond snapped for him, never having been able to imagine an existence without you by his side.
Azriel had assumed that he was condemned to a life of desolation and loneliness, rotting with guilt and insecurity for all the things he had done and all the things he could never be. But despite the blood that perpetually stained his scarred hands and the weight of his past burdening his shoulders, you never shied away. Never so much as frowned when he confessed to you the serpentine nature of his hidden work for the Night Court or the calamity he’d endured as a young, lost child.
You had sat and listened all those years ago, delicate fingers tracing the calluses on his palm as if the lines on his hands whispered all of the things he left unsaid. You’d understood the complexities of his character, loved them as much as you loved every other part of him.
You made your unwavering affection for him known at every possible opportunity, often massaging away the crease between his brows when you knew he was losing himself to the spiral of his unwanted thoughts. You’d kiss his forehead and run your fingers through his hair, silent but understanding as you allowed him time to open himself up to you in whatever manner he pleased.
Azriel’s adoration of you was no different. He cherished the way you confided in him, revealing to him the depths of your own darkness and fears. He would safeguard your trust with his dying breath, always and forever striving to be your safe space, a lockbox where you could store your darkest thoughts and insecurities without fear of judgment.
Just as you had always done for him. Just as you were doing now.
In the comfort of your shared bedroom in your private residence, you wrapped your arms around his waist from behind, rolling on to your toes to kiss the back of his neck while he undid the intricate laces and buckles of his leathers. Your deft fingers soon joined his in the process as you both worked in comfortable silence to unfasten the tediously complex web of clasps.
The tension in his shoulders and the microscopic ruffle in his brow was all you needed to conclude that his latest task was a gruesome one. One of those missions that tended to stick around, following him and taunting him until his guilt festered and spread.
“Do you want to talk about it?” You asked, voice steady as you removed the last of his Siphons secured tightly around his bicep. It was an effort not to gawk at his exquisite physique that lay hidden beneath the constricting leathers; no matter how many times you’d seen Azriel shirtless, you didn’t think you’d ever get used to the sight.
He hummed in response, taking a moment to survey his torso in the mirror for any cuts or bruises that needed tending to. When he didn’t spot any — most of them had quickly stitched themselves together on the flight back home — he met your gaze in the mirror and shook his head gently, “Not really.”
Azriel was somewhat avoidant by nature, too used to minimizing his feelings in lieu of the success of a mission, but the gentle definitiveness in his tone told you all you needed to know. He’d open up about this latest operation when he was ready, but he needed time to process and think, formulate coherent thoughts about what had transpired. And as much as you wanted to soothe the emotional aches and pains you knew plagued him after every mission, you would give him that time.
You sighed and came to stand in front of him, taking both his cheeks in your hands as you forced his gaze to yours. It took everything in him not to lose himself in those pretty eyes of yours.
Azriel could sense the worry you habitually hid in the moments after he returned home, and so he leaned into your touch, turning to kiss the heart of your palm before offering you reassurances, “I’m okay. Promise.”
Azriel held his pinky out cutely and you chuckled, shaking your head fondly before wrapping your own around his. You used your joined hands as leverage to pull him down to slot your lips over his. Azriel sighed contentedly at the pressure of your kiss, his long lashes fluttering shut as his hands repositioned themselves around your body.
One hand splayed steadily on the cage of your ribs as the other made the devious trek down, grabbing a handful of your ass to squeeze playfully.
You yelped and pulled away as he smirked at you fondly. His gaze traveled over your shoulder to look in the mirror, never tiring of how the curves of your body looked pressed against his.
The two of you stayed like that for a long while, Azriel’s chin hooked over your head as your arms wound themselves comfortably around his waist. The cadence of his heartbeat was one you were well acquainted with, like a steady metronome that measured itself to the beat of your own heart.
When he pressed his lips to the crown of your head, you murmured, “Want to take a bath?”
You felt the near imperceptible quickening of his pulse against your ear and you pressed yourself further into his chest, reveling in the way he so instinctively reacted to every little thing you did.
“Only if you join me,” he responded cheekily, corners of his lips twitching in affectionate jest.
You hummed and pretended to think about it, shifting to rest your chin against his heart, pretty lashes fluttering as you looked up at him.
“I could be convinced.”
Gods, how beautiful you looked. How beautiful you always looked. Your charming allure caught Azriel off guard every single time you merely breathed in his direction, and he briefly wondered if he’d ever get used to the ease in which you enchanted him without even meaning to.
Unable to resist, his hands came up to cradle your jaw, supporting your neck as he bent down to kiss you, his nose brushing affectionately against yours as he pulled away.
“I’ll carry you,” he offered, lips brushing your skin, hazel eyes never once leaving yours.
“Deal,” you said, laughing delightedly when he lifted you, throwing you playfully over his shoulder to make a beeline to the bathroom.
Running a bath — a normally automatic part of Azriel’s routine — was made infinitely harder when he was so busy pressing his lips to your jaw, your cheeks, your mouth. He wasn’t sure what had gotten into him tonight — maybe it was the adrenaline from a hard task completed, the warmth of home coaxing him to let go and savor you — but he wasn’t complaining. And neither were you, if the way you matched his fervor was anything to go by.
When both of you finally settled into the warm water, he sighed in contentment, lazily, adoringly watching as the tension eased out of your shoulders.
Before you came into his life, Azriel had never really understood the desire to worship. He knew logically that it was an act of devotion, but never did he really feel the inclination to pray to a god in thanks.
But it was moments like these — the wonderfully mundane moments of bliss with you — that finally made him understand. If the Mother was anything like you, it wasn’t difficult for Azriel to fathom a devotee’s need to pray.
He thought this as he ran his soapy hands gingerly over your body, as he buried his fingers in your hair to massage your scalp. If you were his goddess, then these were his acts of reverence and he would practice until his physical body no longer could.
And when you did the same for him, when you gently scrubbed his back and wings and arms and chest with the deliberation and gentility of an artist with a craft, he thought that maybe this gratification was what the gods felt when their followers prayed.
After a while, once the soap had run down the drain and the water was warm and clear again, you settled against him with your back pressed to his chest.
It was in that moment he realized the arousal that had slowly eked its way into his bloodstream; he had been too busy basking in the feel of your fingertips on his aching muscles to realize that your lovingly innocent touch had made him hard. Embarrassingly so.
“Sorry,” he mumbled sheepishly, his attention now on the way his cock pressed so tightly against your lower back.
Your laugh — melodic and lovely — curled around his ears in a lover’s embrace, “Don’t be sorry. I’m irresistible, I know.”
He knew you’d meant to tease, but he couldn’t help but agree; if he didn’t know any better, he would’ve thought that you’d casted a spell on him to ensnare his unyielding devotion to you. Your head fell back onto his shoulder and you captured his chin in your fingers to tilt his lips towards yours.
This kiss, unlike the ones you two had shared earlier in the night, was much more insistent, revving your desire with each stroke of his tongue.
His hands remained frustratingly chaste on the curve of your waist, and you squirmed in his embrace, willing him to touch you. The pressure of him against your back and the feel of his mouth — now leaving a scathing trail of little bites down your neck — pressed to your skin left the space between your legs slick with a wetness unattributable to the warm bath water.
Your hand settled over his and for a brief moment your mind flickered to appreciation of the ridges raised by the scars that wound themselves like vines up his fingers to his wrists. Azriel had always been somewhat self conscious of the puckered skin of his hands, but you stood firm in the belief that they only served to make him that much more wonderful.
(And you couldn’t deny the pleasurable sensation they added when his fingers were buried inside you. But that was neither here nor there.)
You guided his touch as he reared back up to kiss you again. You led one of his hands down between your legs and the other to your chest, where he eagerly played with the peak of your nipples.
“Oh?” he intoned, amusement coloring his inquiry at the feel of how wet he now realized you were.
“Sorry,” you muttered, mimicking his earlier apology with much less sheepishness.
“Don’t be sorry,” he mimed back to you. His hands fell into a practiced rhythm, circling your clit with delicious pressure.
You arched into his touch, moans falling from your lips as he teased your entrance before he mercifully sank a single digit into you. The stretch was a welcome feeling, but it quickly dissolved into the need for more. But it seemed that Azriel was in no hurry, languidly alternating between lazy strokes and nonchalant circles.
You arched again, silently pleading with him to give you more as you gripped his knee beneath the now tepid water. Though the heat of your body alone was probably enough to re-warm the bath.
Azriel indulged you, unable to resist your alluring pull. He added another finger to his ministrations, blissfully dizzy with the sounds falling from your lips. His other hand snaked from your nipples down between your legs, timing his well placed caresses of your clit to the unrelenting plunge of his fingers.
He knew you were close — so quick, he thought with a lethal satisfaction — by the octave of your moans and the desperate way your hands fought for purchase on his legs, your breasts.
He bit down on that wonderfully tender spot at the junction between your shoulder and neck, and shivered when he felt you clench around his fingers, walls pulsing temptingly around his fingers as you came.
Azriel captured your lips with his own once more, prolonging the pleasure from your release for as long as possible. You shifted to straddle him, never once breaking the kiss as the water sloshed dangerously close to the lip of the tub.
The way you ground your hips down onto his had him groaning, eyebrows furrowing with the effort to restrain himself. He could take you now, could give in to your attempts to guide him inside you, but you were shivering, goosebumps raising the skin on your back and shoulders as the chilled water and even chillier night air caressed your form.
Besides, his mind was working in overdrive, crafting plan after plan to have you keening and arching for him, all of which required a more comfortable setting than the marble bathtub in your bathroom.
He stood with ease, looping your legs around his midsection to carry you back to the bed.
He tossed you softly — though quite unceremoniously — onto the bed, and you would have complained about getting the sheets wet, but 1) you knew Azriel would make an obscene joke about how they’d get wet anyway and 2) the feel of his cock grinding against your clit was enough to rob your consciousness of any coherent thought.
Azriel was murmuring sweet endearments into your damp skin as he made the excruciatingly slow trek down your body, his lips mapping a tedious trail of kisses down your torso as if he were committing each ridge and valley to memory in fear that he’d lose his way on the journey back.
Finally, finally his mouth found that wonderfully sweet spot between your legs and he licked a broad stripe up the length of you. You shivered as he lingered, tongue lazily alternating between teasingly shallow strokes inside you to wide circles around your clit.
It was torture of the purest kind that he wasn’t giving you exactly what he knew you wanted, and by the wicked glint in his darkened hazel eyes, you could tell he was being intentional. Your fingers found their home in the impossibly silky and slightly damp strands of his hair as you attempted to pull his mouth tighter against you, petulant pout curving your lips downward.
His responding chuckle was enough to make you groan, the reverberation vibrating against your cunt before settling tantalizingly in your bones. Azriel’s arms came up to encircle your legs, effectively keeping you from grinding your hips up. You tossed your head back and keened, giving in to the languidness of his affections.
Your eyes met his at the sound of a purposely lewd smack of his lips against you, and you felt him smirk against you before you were swiftly flipped over.
“Azriel!”
What was meant to be a gasp of surprise quickly devolved into a moan of pleasure by the time the last syllable of his name left your lips. You were acutely aware of the sudden switch in positions as you were now straddling your mate’s head.
He coaxed your gaze down to his with a featherlight touch down your spine, and you were met with a swirling mix of love, lust, and adoration swimming in pools of hazel. Your chest swelled momentarily and you probably would’ve said something sweet and much more coherent than what left your mouth as he pulled you down onto him and feasted.
Azriel was addicted to the way he could make you fall apart, even from beneath you with your knees straddling his head. It was borderline sinful – an angel brought to the precipice of obscenity and seduction.
His hips shifted on the bed, body desperate to find friction. But this moment was yours, and so Azriel refrained from giving in to his baser physical desires. His tongue sang praises against your cunt, his hymns translated to the exquisite moans that fell from your lips.
It wasn’t long before you were toppling over that wonderful edge into what felt like a never ending orgasm. You could barely register the change in your positions again, head spinning and dizzy with insurmountable pleasure; before you knew it, your back was pressed against the cool sheets of the bed, eyes glassy with a post-orgasm haze.
Azriel leaned down to kiss you then, a sweet contrast to the near indecent way you could taste yourself lingering on his lips. He took his time kissing you, sending you wave after wave of undying love and loyalty down that invisible golden tether wound tight around your heart.
You briefly thought of returning the favor, of flipping him onto his back and putting your mouth on him in just the way you knew would coax those wonderfully rare sounds of unbridled, wanton pleasure from him. But his body was heavy against yours – a more than welcome comfort – and you couldn’t find the strength in you to pull away from the warmth of his skin.
You arched into him as you wound your arms around his neck, pulling him closer while you encircled your legs around his waist. Relishing in the way he shuddered against you, you urged your hips up to grind against his, aching for the feel of him despite having just orgasmed. Twice.
Thankfully he obliged you, shifting to ease himself inside you, slowly – gods, so slowly – pushing into you with the deliberation and practiced self-discipline of a male centuries trained in espionage.
Azriel let out a half-restrained groan when his hips were flush against yours, always marveling at how close you could make him without even lifting a finger. He had meant to take a few moments to collect himself, not wanting to ruin the moment with a quick release (though admittedly he was struggling), but you shifted beneath him impatiently as you whispered salacious pleas into the shell of his ear.
The drag of his cock in and out of you was a pleasure you weren’t sure you’d ever get used to, and you couldn’t help the prurient sounds that tumbled from your lips. Though, this just seemed to urge Azriel faster, more insistent in the most delicious way.
You knew he was close by the way his breath hitched in his throat and his fingers tightened around the flesh of your thigh. The feel of his abs flexing as he pushed his hips into yours and the perfectly timed grind of his hips against your clit filled your head with a heady, hazy bliss and you nearly forgot where you were for a moment.
You wound your fingers into his hair to steady him as you bit kisses into his jaw, nails raking a gentle path of encouragement down his back.
“Come for me, Az,” you half-pleaded, half-commanded.
And he did. With a gasp and moan so beautiful it sent you into another spiral of pleasure, arching into him as he whispered incoherent praises into your neck.
As you basked in the aftermath, chest heaving and legs tangled beneath your fluffy duvet, Azriel couldn’t help but feel a lightening in his chest. He once again thought of how he had been shown so much mercy, so much kindness by the Mother, the gods – who or whatever governed the celestial plane of existence – to be bound so graciously to you. He never ceased to be amazed that he had met his goddess incarnate and had the overwhelming honor of loving her.
With your cheek resting above his heart, he didn’t doubt that you could hear the quickening of his pulse when he pressed his lips to your hair. “I love you.”
Those three words were his prayer, his penance, his praise, and he would never stop offering them to you so long as you allowed him the privilege of saying them. He could feel you smile as you kissed his collarbone, sleepily offering your benediction in return, “Love you.”
As you fell asleep, encased in the warmth and safety of his arms, he idly traced the lines of your mating tattoo, swirling tendrils of ink dancing up your hip to your waist. He always loved how they were so reminiscent of his shadows. The shadows that were now winding through your hair and tickling your cheeks in adoration.
As he too began slipping into the sweet relief of slumber, he briefly thought of his mission – it had felt so far away, so long ago now that he was guarded within the shield of your presence – and the guilt and sorrow he’d feel in the coming days. He used to dread the aftermath of his work, never allowing himself to rest comfortably for fear that sleep would be too much of an undeserved reprieve for the atrocities he’d committed.
But ever since he selfishly allowed himself to love and be loved by you, he had found solace in your embrace. You couldn’t offer absolution of his sins – if such a thing even existed – but he was certain you were his salvation. An offering from the Cauldron – that he was convinced he was wholly unworthy of – as a chance to right his wrongs. You listened and loved him and saw him for all of the parts he was ashamed of, and for that he would willingly spend the rest of his life striving to deserve.
(Though he was sure you’d frown at him and adamantly insist that he need not do anything but exist to deserve the love you gave him.)
As he let himself descend into the comforting darkness of sleep, Azriel thought that if he would be punished in his next life for the sins he committed in this one, as long as he’d be able to love you through it all it would be worth it.

Bsd except Atsushi was one of the orphans Oda was looking after.
The Headmaster owed a debt to the Port Mafia that he'd not paid. And Oda was sent to talk to him, while there he found Atsushi in a cage.
And promptly left with him.
Got him food, a place to sleep and looked after Atsushi ever since. Atsushi considered the other kids his siblings and being the oldest he was very protective over them.
And Oda was his dad.
It slipped out once and Atsushi was snout to apologise before Oda ruffled his hair with a soft smile.
He was always kind to Atsushi. Always patient, never raising his voice and when Atsushi made a mistake he didn't punish him.
Just explained to him, guided him and helped him. Atsushi had never felt safe in his life until he met Oda.
His tiger ability was not controlled but Oda helped where he could. Atsushi still made a mess of the room but they'd all pitch in to tidy it. His siblings were never scared of him, neither was Oda.
Time and time Atsushi was reminded he wasn't a beast of calamity nor a monster.
Just a child.
Atsushi loved hearing the tales from Oda's job. And about his friends, Ango and Dazai. Unfortunately Atsushi couldn't meet them because as much as Oda trusted them he didn't want the Port Mafia to know about Atsushi.
Unfortunately it didn't last. Atsushi remembers being dragged from his bed and put into that van. He was the only one who survived thanks to the tiger.
Atsushi ended up blacking out and woke up in a hospital. He still has burn scars from the incident.
The Headmaster showed up informed him of what occurred, having learned from his underground connections. He told Atsushi they'd be leaving soon, leaving the room just as Atsushi broke down and screamed.
The next few years were brutal. Atsushi was hesitant to go to Yokohama but the tiger reassured him. And if he had nowhere to go, going to the city he was raised in seemed like a good idea.
Atsushi didn't know Dazai, but he recognised him after pulling him out the river before the man even introduced himself. He didn't know Dazai but he trusted him.
Oda had trusted Dazai so Atsushi would trust Dazai.
He didn't tell Dazai the truth until before the Dragons Breathe incident. Dazai had hid former life so Atsushi wondered if he would react badly to the news.
Or if he'd forgotten Oda entirely, maybe he'd be mad... And Atsushi quite frankly had no idea how to bring it up.
Atsushi's words caught in his throat seeing the gravestone behind him. He hadn't even known where Oda had been buried.
Greif welled up in his heart as tears welled up in his eyes.
"Kunikida tell you to fetch me?" Asked Dazai, with an amused grin.
He looked content, relaxed.
Atsushi nods but he can't take his eyes off the gravestone. Dazai follows his gaze and his smile turns melancholic. "This, is a dear friend of mine. Say hi to Odasaku, Atsushi."
Atsushi smiled sadly, he couldn't hide it anymore not did he want too. Tears rolled down his eyes as he walked over and ran a hand over the gravestone.
"Hi dad. Long time no see."

I. Really like Banana Eel... Do you have any funny facts about him. Also I would give Lady Plantain a kiss if she let me
Oh, that I do! Let's go down the list of lil fun facts 1) He attracts symbols of bad luck. Thanks to his curse, black cats and ravens mysteriously start flocking to him. When he walks by a horse shoe decoration, it's "loose screw" makes it flip upside down!
Tumblr media
2) He has a habit of inspecting cookies he meets often whenever he can. The reason why?
Tumblr media
He wants to make sure when he makes sculptures of them, they're accurate! He doesn't show these to anyone, it's just something he enjoys doing to pass the time.
Tumblr media
3) Depending on his mood, the visibility of his pupils change! This isn't always negative nor intentional.
Tumblr media
That's it for the facts.. But on another note-
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Since you ask so nicely, here's a kiss from the spitfire herself! Im so happy you all like her HEHHEEHH because I do toooooo~
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Hope you're okay with a bit of calamity rubbing off on you after you give him a hug, bud, cause that's what you're gonna get. Hence the confusion.

what the f**k is a kilometer?
masterlist
Logan x reader (3.2k words)
summary: what’s better than running into a cute british boy in london? some might say running with a cute american one…
warnings: slight intoxication, a little injury (nothing super graphic)
Tumblr media
Another day, another gray sky littered with clouds. You swear there’s a perpetual drizzle in London, that the beads of water that have formed along your hairline and neck were just as much rain as sweat. But you settle into the rhythmic slap, slap, slap of your shoes against the concrete along with the uptempo beat of your playlist, and soon your normally cluttered mind is blissfully empty of thought.
So empty, in fact, that you find yourself flat on the ground before you even realized you were airborne—let alone feeling your toe catching the cobblestone that started this bona fide calamity.
The public humiliation hurts so much more than your smarting palms, bruised and bleeding knees, the abrasions covering your elbows. Tears prick at the corner of your eyes. Then a tanned hand comes into view. It beckons you to grab it and let it bring you to your feet.
“Thanks,” you mutter to the owner of the hand, completely frazzled. You follow your gaze up to an arm wearing a navy windbreaker, a chest flanked with a W (and mysteriously, the Mercedes logo?), up to a defined jawline with just a bare stubble, pursed lips, and two narrow blue eyes topped off with a head of sleek blond hair. This could not be any worse, you think. Of course someone that cute witnessed you fully wipe out in front of the entirety of London. Goddamn. He was probably some rich British boy that, in a few seconds, would chide you in a posh accent about being more caahhh-ful.
“Bruh,” Windbreaker Guy says, “are you okay?”
In the most unequivocally un-British accent you’d heard since, well, coming here. You’re so shocked that you just stare, mute.
Windbreaker Guy furrows his brows. “Seriously. Say something before I start thinking you’re concussed or something.”
Yup. Windbreaker Guy definitely bleeds red, white, and blue. To your horror, you can’t suppress the most unwanted giggle as the screeching eagle meme soundbite randomly surfaces in your mind. He looks even more concerned.
“Uh.” You clear your throat. “No, I’m not concussed. I think. Please do me a favor and pretend like this never happened.”
Windbreaker Guy’s face breaks out into a grin. His blue eyes crinkle with laughter. You thought he was handsome before; now you feel your stomach swoop. “Whaddya mean?” He glances around innocently. “I didn’t see anything. Did you?”
You chuckle at the joke. “Thanks for helping me up, by the way. It was super nice of you.”
“Yeah, no problem at all,” he replies.
As you turn around to leave—continuing to run after this would be a Grade A terrible decision—he suddenly calls after you. “Hey!”
You turn around.
Windbreaker Guy bites his bottom lip. “Uh, sorry if this is kinda weird, but can I ask you something?”
“Sure,” you say with some trepidation.
“Are you from the area?”
You just know that both of you know fully well, that neither of you are exactly locals.
“Hmm,” you say innocently, “I don’t know what makes you ask that.” You fight to keep a teasing smile off your lips.
He blushes, and you have to admit that you’re enjoying every second of this. “Uh, just the way you talk…” he trails off.
“Ah,” you say, fully grinning at this point, “it couldn’t possibly have been my totally not American accent that gave it away, could it?”
To Windbreaker Guy’s credit, he catches on quick. “Definitely not,” he replies smoothly. “Just like how I’m also totally London-born and bred.”
“Okay then, Mr. London,” you risk, “what’s your very British name?” Whoa. Bold. You don’t make a habit of going around asking cute boys their names. Even if they did pick you up off the floor in your time of need.
But Mr. London’s—Windbreaker Guy’s—smile fades. You wish you could yank your words back. Shit. That’s what you get for overstepping. You search his face desperately for signs of being offended.
But then he takes a deep breath. “Logan,” he says cautiously. His face probes yours just as intensely, and you wonder why. “Yours?”
You tell him your name, and Logan’s shoulders relax. The smile returns to his face.
“Well,” he says, “it was very nice to meet a fellow, well, American.” And then he winks.
Now it’s your turn to blush. “Nice to meet you too, Logan. Sorry for interrupting your run.”
“Honestly?” he laughs. “I should be thanking you. I hate cardio.”
“What?” you yelp in spite of yourself. You feel just the teensiest bit defensive of your favorite pastime. “Please. If you hate cardio, all that means is that you’ve been doing it wrong.”
Logan raises an eyebrow.
“People run way too fast. No wonder they think it’s torture,” you press on.
The feeling of something warm trickling down your shin interrupts your rant. You look down and see dark red blood slowly ooze down your leg. A wave of lightheadedness hits you like a bus.
“Hey—” Logan begins, just as you black out.
The first thing you see is a weird, unfamiliar curtain. The second is a whiteboard, where your name is written in an Expo marker, big loopy letters. You turn your head. The third, a navy windbreaker…
It all comes crashing back.
“Oh no,” you mutter.
“You’re awake!” Logan exclaims, relief in his voice.
“Oh my god.” You feel faint again. “Where are we?”
“Emergency. You passed out. The cut on your knee’s pretty nasty…they had to give you a few stitches.”
You make a valiant attempt to climb out of the bed, but Logan’s arm shoots out to stop you.
“You’re going to pass out again,” he warns. “Take it easy.”
“I cannot believe this, you say feverishly. “And I cannot believe you’re still here. I don’t even know what you were planning to do this afternoon, but it could not possibly have been sitting in the ER with a total stranger.”
“Why not?” Logan asks. “You’re not a stranger, you’re my fellow American.” He does a mock salute.
You can tell Logan’s trying to lighten the mood, but you still feel like crap.
“If it makes you feel better,” he adds, softer this time. “Worse things can happen to a guy than bringing a cute girl to the hospital and having the nurses fawn over you like you’re some kind of Prince Charming.”
You laugh in spite of yourself, and Logan’s face brightens at the response.
“I still feel pretty bad that you got dragged into this,” you say. “Did they say when they’re gonna let me leave?”
And in what has to be the first stroke of good luck today, a nurse pulls back the curtain as if summoned by will. “Feeling better, dear?” she asks.
You nod quickly. “Yes, much. I was actually looking to leave sooner rather than later.”
“Glad to hear. We just have a few papers for you two to sign, then you dears can be on your way.”
You’re so happy to hear that you can be on your way that you don’t register what the nurse said at first. But Logan’s face has gone beet red.
“Uh, wait,” he mumbles. “I don’t think I should sign her papers.”
“Oh!” The nurse gasps. “I’m so sorry, love. I just thought you were together, since you came in with her. I’m so sorry.”
“It’s all good,” Logan says hastily. You feel your cheeks burn. You don’t dare to try making eye contact with Logan.
The nurse hurries over with your discharge papers, and Logan helps you off the bed. His eyes narrow when you sway from the head rush, but you assure him you can walk.
“What a bloody adventure,” he jokes as you finally walk out the doors.
“I’m so sorry again,” you say, agitated. “This was…god, what a mess. And you were so nice about it, too.”
Logan blushes again, this time at the word nice. “Seriously, it’s no problem. I hope you don’t mind if I call you a cab to take you back to your place.”
“What? No,” you protest. “I can’t have you spend your money on me, too. Especially not after all this.”
One look at Logan’s face tells you it’s too late.
“Come on, Logan,” you say weakly.
He smiles as a taxi pulls up to the curb.
“Do you think you can get home by yourself? I’m happy to come with…I just don’t want to seem overbearing.”
Impulsively, you say yes, not wanting to take up any more of Logan’s time. But then you feel a twinge of regret.
“Thanks for the adventure,” he smiles, handing you a sheaf of papers. “And—I mean it—it was really nice meeting you.”
On the drive home, you absentmindedly thumb through your discharge papers and stop short. The top of one of the sheets has a messy ballpoint scrawl on it:
Your ~favorite American~ would love to know if you got home safe - if you’re ok with it, text me, followed by a string of digits that were obviously written with a bit more care.
Incredibly, your eyes sting with tears for the second time that day. Studying abroad in London was a lot of fun. But of course there were moments of stress, trying to navigate the Tube during rush hour alone, not knowing what “knackered” or “chuffed” or “daft” really meant (spoiler: you were truly daft about all that), and looking at a perpetually cloudy sky that made you feel homesick for the Florida sun. Logan, well…he was kind of a breath of fresh air. Even discounting the fact that he’d literally saved you today.
So it’s the least you could do to send a text from the safety of your apartment—er, flat.
Me Favorite American, reporting from home base. Safe and sound. 🫡
Your phone buzzes instantly. It’s all you can do to not giggle like a little girl when you see it.
Logan Mission accomplished. 🇺🇸🦅🫡
A week later, the scrapes on your hands have faded away and your knee has scabbed over. You toss your keys and hat onto the table, unlace your shoes, do a couple of air squats to loosen up your hamstrings that always got tight after runs, and plop down on the couch. You reach for the remote and turn on the TV.
Like you’ve done several times in the past week, you contemplate texting Logan, even if that sounds a little crazy. What would you even say? Would he want to hang out—this time not in an emergency room? Would he even remember you?
You figure if he did, he would have reached out by now. You sigh and start flipping aimlessly through the TV channels. News, news, sports you don’t understand, show you’ve never heard of, news…
“And Formula 1, racing for the Spanish Grand Prix!!” an announcer says as two neat rows of cars start zooming across a checkered line.
You’ve heard of Formula 1, of course. At least, you’ve seen the Ferrari scene in Cars. And come to think of it, some of your friends back in Florida had been talking about some Netflix show. Normally, you’d have kept advancing the channels—but you think it’s pretty neat that you just happened to catch the start of a race. So you decide to see what the fuss is all about.
And honestly, you can kind of see it. It’s so different from what you imagined, cars going around and around a circular track. No, watching the cars try to outpace each other on sharp bends and twisting curves leaves you amazed that someone could drive that quickly at all.
Some guy named Max Verstappen wins, apparently “again”. The drivers climb out of their cars and pull off their helmets, revealing hair matted with sweat, hugging a group clad in matching suits. You notice that some of them are wearing the strangely familiar W.
Logan’s windbreaker…
Aha. So he’s a Formula 1 guy. Well, you think, I guess that’s something I could bring up. You start fantasizing about potential text messages in your head—did you watch the race in Spain? I’m a Formula 1 newbie but you seem like a seasoned fan—when the camera cuts to the team wearing the W milling around their car as its driver also stands up, hops out, and removes his helmet.
You gasp. It’s a face you’ve seen before.
And a small banner on the screen—Logan Sargeant—confirms it.
You seize your phone and call your friend Emma. The one who watched that Netflix show. The one you had thoroughly debriefed your disastrous fall and subsequent rescue with.
“Hello?”
“Emma. You are not going to believe this.”
“What?”
“Remember Logan?”
A pause. “Cute Windbreaker Guy? The guy who Prince Charming-ed you?”
“Yes,” you hiss. “Well guess what, I just saw him on TV.”
“Whoa! For what?”
“Wellllll…for driving a car.”
“Huh?” Emma sounds confused.
“Yeah. Cause he’s not just Logan. Turns out his full name is Logan Sargeant.”
“What? Like, Logan Sargeant, the Formula 1 driver?!”
“Yeah,” you breathe, eyes glued to the screen. The guy who hated cardio, who blushed when the nurse thought you two were a couple, who cracked those corny British jokes—that guy was now greeting adoring fans, some waving American flags, reporters hounding him for a comment or two on the race.
No wonder he’d never texted you.
Later that night, you replay for what must have been the millionth time the events of last week in your mind. Falling. Logan pulling you up. You leaving, him calling after you.
Suddenly, you remember how uncomfortable he looked when you’d asked his name. It occurs to you that maybe he was so hesitant because he thought you might recognize him. What were the odds you’d run into such a sweet, cute, and caring guy who inspired a week’s worth of daydreams…and said guy turns out to be a freaking celebrity F1 driver?
You sigh. The clock tells you it’s well past 1AM. Your phone buzzes with a text—probably Emma, sending you yet another Tiktok, or Youtube video, or article about Logan—and you reach over to your nightstand.
Logan Heyyyyyy baby. Just thinking about you tonight. Like I do every night. 🥰
Huh? You’re sure this is a prank. But then your phone starts to ring. Logan’s calling you.
“Hello?” your voice shakes a little.
“Oscar—I swear to god, Oscar,” you hear Logan say in the background. Then an unfamiliar voice. “Hello? Is this Y/N speaking?”
“Ummmm…yes? Is everything okay?”
“Yeeeeah,” the voice says in a—British? Australian?—accent. “I’m Logan’s mate, sorry, he’s just a bit of a coward. He just wanted to tell you that he thinks that you’re the most beautiful girl on Earth—”
“Oscar, I swear to god if you don’t give me back my phone—” Some shuffling noises. You imagine Logan making a valiant attempt to wrestle his phone away from his friend.
“Hey, I am so sorry,” Logan says frantically. “Oscar’s literally a troll, ignore him…”
As if to confirm Logan’s words, you hear Oscar distantly shout, “What the fuck is a kilometerrrrrr?!”
You can’t believe this is happening. And you can’t believe you get to hear Logan’s voice again. You giggle. “Are you guys out or something?”
“Yeah,” Logan says in a pained voice. “Just at a bar with some guys. It’s so late—can I text you tomorrow? I’m so sorry again.”
“Of course.” You try not to sound giddy. “Hope you have a good time, Logan.”
“Goodnight, Y/N.”
You swear you see a handsome blond man, running in a navy windbreaker alongside the Thames river, in your dreams.
Logan Hey, so sorry about last night
Me Lolll no problem, your friend Oscar is quite the comedian
Logan 🤦 What are you up to?
Me Nothing much, just at work
Logan Nice :) Okay so tbh I’ve been out of town for most of this week...that’s why we were out so late last night we’re an hour behind But I’m coming back to London today and I was wondering if you might be down to go on a jog and just hang out or something
Me Oooh yeah sure I’m down! As long as we don’t end up in a hospital again 🚨🚨
Logan Hey That’s up to you ;) So it’s a date?
Me :)
Logan’s hoodie is soft against your face, and you inhale his woodsy cologne as you bury your cheek closer to his chest. 21 Jump Street is streaming on his TV, and the setting sun throws golden beams of light through the slats of his blinds onto the wall. An empty carton of vanilla Häagen-Dazs sits on his coffee table, two spoons sticking out of it. It really was the perfect way to wind down after a jog along the river—this time, sans anyone falling. Your eyelids begin to drift closed as Logan runs his fingers through your hair.
The movie cuts to an ad. “Some say Formula 1 isn’t really a sport…” a narrator intones.
You decide it’s time.
“Logan,” you say. “The craziest thing happened on Sunday.”
“Do tell,” Logan teases.
“I was just watching TV in the afternoon, and I just happened to see a driving race in Spain. I think it was for Formula 1, actually.”
Logan raises an eyebrow.
“It was the first time I’ve ever watched a race like that. In fact, I just watched it all the way through…”
“So you thought it was fun?” he asks innocently. You can tell he’s trying to suppress a smile.
“Yeah. But one of the drivers…it’s crazy, he just looked so much like someone I knew…”
“Really now? And who’s this someone he reminded you of?”
“Well,” you say, laughing, “this someone hates cardio, knows it’s called soccer but would rather watch football anyway, doesn’t know what a kilometer is...”
Logan’s laughing now too, and the sound fills you with flickers of warmth.
“This someone…makes me feel a lot closer to home.”
And judging by the way his arm tightens as he pulls you into a kiss, Logan seems to agree.
notes: logan is criminally underrated!! watching some of his interviews in the process of writing this made me realize how lowkey funny and laid-back he is. and so down to earth - he brought lemonade to his 10 things video. wishing him well on his season with williams 🥰

Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tucked away into the seam between Shizuoka and Musutafu is the UA Cryptobiology research centre. In the eyes of the public it was an extension of the nearby UA University and largely harmless. Cryptids kept there are not advertised, atleast, not the living ones.
The building is huge. An architectural giant, and a stain on the natural landscape. You’ve worked there for years yet still find yourself struck by just how foreboding it looks. Head ducked, you slip past the thin crowd protesting by the security gate, staff card hidden in the sleeve of your shirt.
While they are few in number their voices are loud and accusing. You flinch at the vitriol as you try to reach the scanner. There was a small earthquake in a nearby prefecture a few days ago which was the likeliest reason they had gathered here.
On days like this you couldn’t help the thought that no amount of scientific research would wipe away the countrywide consensus on cryptids. Very early on in your career you came to understand why your superiors lied about the live subjects. If these people knew the truth they could probably birth a calamity all of their own.
Unfortunately it is not only the monstrous who are a target. You lock eyes with a guard standing by the gates and slip your keycard into the shallow of your palm. Nodding in acknowledgement, he places the whistle hung around his neck between his lips and the moment you swipe in he blows, hard.
The gate clicks and unlocks with a short beep that is drowned out by the noise. You walk through and quickly push it closed behind you. Thank you, you mouth over to him, scurrying across the lot toward the main doors. He offers a flippant wave in return.
You enter the mouth of the lobby. It is a wide dome shaped room with high ceilings that houses most of the lecture rooms, and acts as a junction to other parts of the facility. Looking up, you can see each floor twisting into a spiral.
Centred is the reception desk; large and circular to make room for five staff members to be seated at any given time. Yamada is there today, dressed with his shirt cuffs pushed to the elbow, waist length hair braided up into a ponytail. He leans dangerously far back in his chair and twiddles a pen between his fingers. Your unease falls away at the familiar sight.
“Yamada,” you intone sternly. A grin pulls at your lips when he startles. The wheels on his office chair squeak as he rights himself. Wide sheepish eyes land on you and narrow in disbelief.
“Don’t do that,” he pouts, dragging himself closer to the desk, casting another nervous glance toward his coworker. “Bully! I could’ve broken my neck”.
“Then you would’ve thanked me for the two months paid sick leave”.
Yamada smirks, peering at you above his yellow tinted lenses “…Touché”.
You rest both arms on the countertop and lean over, holding a hand out to receive the sign in sheet. “You have a good weekend?” you ask, falling back into idle pleasantries while you skim over the names already on the register. Hatsume Mei. Huh, you think. She’s early.
“Kan and Kayama dragged me out drinking,” Yamada admits tiredly, massaging two fingers to his temples and closing his eyes, opening again to glare at your huff of laughter. “Sure love laughing at my misfortune, don’t’cha? I think you’re spending too much time with those ghouls”.
Signing your name in the next blank row, you give a brief glance at the watch on Yamada’s wrist to mark the time. “Comes with the territory,” you murmur, amused by the whine in his voice, setting the pen and register down on his desk with some finality. “Seen Mei today? She signed in already”.
“You bet. That girl is hard to miss,” he slides the sheets toward his front. “Speaking of…” you turn at the amused hum. His pen is pointed left like the needle of a compass leading directly to a familiar figure. Hatsume is clutching her clipboard with a tenuous grip as she scurries through the lobby, pink hair bouncing on her shoulders.
Her gaze finds you and she perks up. You lift a hand to return a wave as she beckons you frantically. It’s not entirely uncharacteristic of her. Hatsume was the rare type— she loved this job. Any small change or news could garner this reaction from her.
The excitable exclamation of your name draws the attention of the people around you, though the intern remains entirely unperturbed, almost tripping over her feet to get to you. “Mei,” you smile, instinctively stepping forward with arms held open in case she stumbles. “What’s all the noise about? Did something happen?”
“Food!” she pants heavily, grasping your forearm for balance. Her eyes are wide and beseeching as if the word alone was enough to explain her enthusiasm. It doesn’t.
Slow, you repeated, “…Food?”
The band keeping her hair tied back loosens while she nods. “It’s the mothman. He’s not eating!”
“He’s not…” you blink. “Oh!” The realisation trickles in, and you find yourself gripping onto Hatsume’s arms with bruising pressure as it washes over you. Your cheeks ache and she mirrors your grin.
Yamada clears his throat, interrupting before you have the chance to speak. “What’s so great about that?” he asks. “Wouldn't that be a sign that he’s sick or something?”
“No,” you breathe. Energy buzzes lightning-quick under your skin. Restless, you begin to shake Hatsume where she stands, and the two of you laugh in astonishment. “It means he’s hoarding!”
“Hoarding?”
“Mothman cryptids will take food back to their nests for their partners but,” the burst of joy dwindles, then. You worry at your bottom lip. “But… previous observations show that this behaviour should come after they’ve met a potential mate”.
“You think we should be worried?”
“I think it’s unusual”.
Hatsume doesn’t wilt. She shrugs your doubts off like water to a duck’s back, bouncing on the balls of her feet and handing over the clipboard. As always, the notes are verbose but organised. Detailed down to the very last time stamp.
There, written in pen, it states that at 11:58 the mothman was seen hovering by the food hatch. It clarified that there were no signs of aggression or posturing. Shouta was simply waiting. Shouta never waits. At 12:00 his usual weekly meal was given and instead of consuming it immediately as he normally would, Shouta gathered the food to his chest and took flight.
You’re rushing off toward the cryptid wing before Hizashi can press any further. Hatsume is at your heel, her quick light-footed steps echoing through the corridors.
The mothman enclosure is immense. Space is required— most cryptids can grow up to seven feet or above, and their wings even taller. Separated from your observation deck by a thick, bulbous glass window, you needed to crane your head just to catch a glimpse of the ceiling, which remained mostly covered by a canopy.
Flora covers the entirety of the forest floor. The foliage is so dense that sometimes seeing further is impossible, which in turn makes your job that much harder; but it’s worth it, for the sake of Shouta’s comfort. Unlike your predecessors, you strongly advocated for him. You viewed him as an individual, another sentient being with autonomy, and thought building a good foundation of trust could only lead to better data overall.
The facility is vastly different to the outside world. Blacked out nest boxes were placed around the area, hidden away for him to choose from however he pleased, as well as broad net columns where he can rest. Your team was instructed to begin adjusting the seasons months ago. Gradually, the temperature was changed to mimic fall. The fauna acclimated, dousing the otherwise dark and dreary forest in a warm colour palette.
Tawny leaves perched loosely on branches like a flock of goldfinches. Camouflaged behind them are two red dots emitting an unblinking glow. It is very unlike him to be this close to the deck so early in the evening. Waiting for more food, maybe. You note that thought down. You see his eyes follow the movement of your pen and smile.
Mothman cryptids are bipedal winged humanoids. They have always been notoriously aloof and difficult to study. Catching them outright was nigh impossible. They’re a highly intelligent species, and very sensitive to their surroundings. Your best bet was to inflict injury first and capture later when an infection set in.
Shouta was different from the start. So unlike his kin that you sometimes wondered if the research collated about him was permissible. He had been wounded badly by nearby collectors and managed to escape, but rather than relocate, he entered the facility of his own volition. You’d heard the stories. An eldritch being prying open the doors, thick steel bending like paper, the employees paralysed with fear, rendered unable to do anything except kneel under the intense pressure of his glare.
They had been so frightened that the shivering malachite bundle in his arms almost went amiss. A Peryton fawn matted with blood. Director Yagi supposedly spit blood of his own when he noticed.
Shouta never left after that.
Everyone figured the rumours were exaggerated. A mothman wouldn’t surrender itself for the sake of another, not even it’s own kind. That is the universal truth— all cryptids are incapable of empathy. Their sole purpose is to serve as the herald of death, and death bringers did not save life. They took it.
While you knew that to be ostensibly untrue it will never matter. Monster hunting was a tradition practiced for millennia. Accepting that they might be capable of emotion would cast doubt upon such practices. More than anything humanity needed justification for their wrong doings; condemning something as monstrous only renders such violence as heroic.
You, however, had a fascination with them since you were a child. Those unanswered questions and curiosities are what led you to cryptozoology, and ultimately, into cryptid behavioural research. Having Shouta’s care handed over to you was a dream come true.
Shouta was averse to people and made that known; keepers could be found petrified by the feeding hatch, trembling in place for hours if they weren’t careful. Which is why your superiors were greatly pleased by his reaction to you.
You couldn’t confidently say he liked you— could a mothman like anyone? But the cryptid was, at the very least, intrigued by his new handler.
Within the first meeting you recorded vocalisations that were previously undiscovered. Soft chittering and clicks, surprisingly pleasing to the ear; it had a hypnotic quality to it that could almost lull you to sleep. The common denominator was you— rather, Shouta only ever made those sounds when you were visibly anxious, and you often toyed with the notion that he was attempting to soothe you.
You tried not to indulge in such hypotheses as not to cloud your judgment. Humans had a bad habit of anthropomorphising the things they cared about. Countless cynics argued that animals do not love, they simply form attachments to those that provide for them. Shouta may only treat you better because you are the first human to show him sincere respect but that didn’t matter.
Whether your place in his life was just that of a nuisance or not, you cared for him and his wellbeing all the same. That’s what made this so invigorating— not only answers to questions that plagued your field for centuries, but the real possibility that your subject might finally have true companionship.
Your mouth twists as your thoughts drift, imagining the smell of decay percolating in one of his nest boxes now that he was hoarding. Shouta could eat anything within reason if he needed to, but his preferred diet was on the bitter side. Rotted fruits and the like which had a more acidic, sour taste to it, though he could be partial to dry pantry food in the hotter months.
Mothman have been known to feast on flesh, too, in desperate times. Though it is rare for them to acquire the taste for human meat; too mild and too rubbery.
If he truly is readying for a mate then he would soon need more food, materials and bedding. The foliage worked as a foundation but you’re aware mothman cryptids liked to weave silk or cashmere into the structure for the young to cling to and eat.
That gives you pause. Your grimace curls into a wide, exuberant grin, that you immediately shield behind the clipboard. We could end up with babies this year, you think. The first to ever be bred in captivity— a near impossible feat.
Shouta’s antennae are fluttering. Their movements fracture the stillness of the canopy and make known his position. You stare long enough for the dark blob amongst the trees to sharpen into a solid silhouette.
A mothman has a wingspan of around thirteen feet. These measurements aren’t entirely accurate, because Shouta refused to allow anyone to touch them, but the sheer size was obvious at a distance even where they remained tucked to his spine, cocooning him in darkness.
They are covered in loose tiny hairs acting as scales for insulation, while creating intricate, iridescent patterns along the inner forewings that can only be seen in moonlight when open— a gift saved in hopes of wooing a mate. Maybe you’d finally get a glimpse this year.
“Hey big guy,” you call out. Your voice jostles his wings and beckons him forward. Shouta balances himself on a thick cedar branch directly across from the observation deck, a rare sight. He is magnificent in the artificial daylight.
Hatsume releases an awed breath behind you. “Gah, he’s always so responsive to you! I’m jealous!”
Shouta barely acknowledges her presence. His attention is steadfast, pinpointed to your every move; unblinking, lest you disappear from vision. “Don’t take it personally. He’s just known me longer, is all,” you demurred, turning to her with a reassuring smile.
But she is seeing beyond you. The hair on the nape of your neck prickles and suddenly a sinistrous shadow stretches across the deck. Mei flinches back reflexively and you daren’t look back. What was ephemeral fear in her features blossoms into wonderment.
Then, a tapping sound that echoes in your chest. It is careful and somehow that makes it all the more daunting. Brushing off the unease, you pivot on your heel, coming face to face with Shouta. Both wings have hunched forward to create a cocoon of darkness, his pale face barely visible.
Another tap, accompanied by a smooth rumble. His large hand is pressed up against the glass. You step closer and his wingspan widens just a fraction. The light reflects in his eyes. He is right in front of you, so contrivedly real-looking that it feels like it must be fake.
Call it curiosity, or stupidity, or an amalgamation of the two. You outstretch your arm. The pane feels cold where your body presumes warmth. You align your palm with his and it swallows yours, fingers splayed open, still unable to reach the width of his hand.
“Hi there…” you exhale, having to crane your head to hold his gaze. Shouta’s jaw shifts as he clicks his teeth and you are reminded just how impressive a mothman cryptid’s hearing is. “You’re acting all out of sorts, huh. Want more food for the nest, right?”
Dark talons leave marks on the thick glass, hairline fractures stemming from point of impact. His gaze darkens. Hatsume gasps when he shakes his head and you can’t blame her. Cryptids rarely communicated directly with handlers.
“No?” you repeat, brows pinched into a frown. Then, to yourself, “Nesting materials, then? Already? But it can’t be, surely”.
The choice is a difficult one. Every potential mate your team introduced Shouta to throughout the years has been adamantly rejected. There was never an effort to impress or prove himself. He either flat out ignored them or attempted to kill them. You want to enable his new behaviours— to encourage it, even — but there was no mate yet.
Pseudocyesis comes to mind. Though this situation is far different, you wondered whether something in Shouta’s environment had triggered these instincts.
The rich baritone in his purr vibrates against your hand. His eyes blink slow and beseeching, full of apparent hunger, emitting that dewy red glow. Distantly, you register the dull scratch of pencil to paper. Rambling whispers fall from Hatsume’s mouth as she writes, documenting everything the way you taught her to.
“I think,” you begin, tongue heavy in your mouth. Your throat feels dry and the implication behind your next words stings. “I think he wants me to go inside his enclosure”.
A sane person would immediately put their foot down and tell you no. Director Yagi himself would try to talk you down. However, Hatsume Mei is a far cry from sane. She barely considers her own safety, let alone yours.
“What for?” she chimes impatiently. “I noticed he has been keeping an eye out for a specific person all morning— it must’ve been you. Do you think he could really be sick like Yamada said? Since he’s humanoid we can test if our medicines work on him!”
“Mei,” you interrupt, your voice cutting through her exuberance. She shrinks somewhat and you feel bad for being so sharp with her. “No, I’m not sure if he’s sick. And no, our medication only works to an extent. The dose needs to be dangerously high and cryptids burn through it faster than it can be replaced”.
Shouta observes the interaction. The tension in his wings looks ready to snap, and the feathery fingers of his antennae have started to shiver. You take in the sight of your overlapped hands once more and step away, clenching it into a fist at your hip.
“Anyone who goes into a cryptid’s den doesn’t come out,” Hatsume comments, tone uncharacteristically somber.
“I trust him,” you reassured, leveling the mothman with a contemplative stare. He ducks into the fluffy plumage around his neck and glares. “Mostly”.
Hatsume snickers. The weight in your chest lifts and you smile at her. She’s still young. Too young to bear any responsibility for what might happen.
“Something is telling me I have to go in there. It’ll keep me up at night if I don’t,” you continue, adding emphasis with a pointed finger. “This was my idea and mine alone. Do not send anyone in after me. Capiche?”
She gives a mock salute, “Yes boss!”
Each wing with a cryptid enclosure has a staircase leading from the observation deck to a feeding room. You descend the stairs, too aware of Shouta’s stare, which followed until you were out of sight.
The room is dull. Devoid of natural light, furnished only by three large chest freezers and a closet full of linens. There is a hatch the size of a shoebox that can be pulled open to safely deposit food through, and adjacent is a vault door reinforced with steel and concrete.
You open the closet and parse through the fabrics. Admittedly a long shot as far as ‘I come in peace’ gestures go, but the only thing you can think might help. Silk slides petal-soft between your fingers and you tuck it under your arm, joined by another cashmere blanket, smooth and noticeably light.
The vault door requires both a code and a staff card. You input the code and swipe your card. The affirmative beep pierces through your equilibrium. Shouta is not harmless. But you are, and you’re hoping he knows that.
A loud click echoes into the feeding room. You grasp the handle and take one last steely inhale before heaving, struggling with the incredible weight. You curse the door as it groans on its hinges, alerting everything nearby of your arrival.
Mothman feast on anything. Vegetation and flesh, fresh or rotted, but legend always spoke of their hunger for misery. They coveted disaster and fed on it, babe to breast, and somehow grew hungrier the more they swallowed.
You step into the enclosure. The door shuts with a loud foreboding slam and locks automatically.
Shouta does harm to those who would harm him. He feasts on fruit. On cereal and rice. You’d watched him suck through ten packets of coffee jelly, but never misery. If anyone were to ask you, you would tell them that Shouta conjured the very opposite of misery.
You remind yourself of that repeatedly until your thoughts coalesce into white noise. The earth is soft beneath your boots. Something darts through the treeline, gone in a blink, and you feel the hair on your arms stand on end.
Easing into the surroundings, you cautiously call out to him, “…Shouta? You here, big guy?”
A low hum resonates throughout the trees. You feel it more than you hear it, almost like a caress. It coaxes a familiar warm feeling into the pit of your stomach, willing all tension from your muscles until the blankets pinned to your side unfold, falling onto the ground.
A coronal mist has set in, orchestrated by a chattering sound you know well. Your clothes cling uncomfortably to your skin. It’s harder to breathe now. Shaking, you try to advance. Your body is quickly paralysed by the innate urge to flee.
Shouta’s presence echoes throughout the brush and sinks it’s claws into you— throbs under your skin in time with your heart. But if you ran, would that make his blood sing? Would he interpret it as a challenge to prove his worth, or a rejection for which to kill you?
The air is temperate. That perfect balance between cool and humid. Lush oranges and yellows branch out into every corner. Light bleeds through the thinning canopy, the ground dappled with sunspots. This isn’t such a terrible place to die.
You don’t hear or see him. Like before, you feel him first. Fear washes over you and steals your breath. Shouta is at your back, shaping himself to your body in a way that boasts how large he is in comparison. You stay stockstill while he touches you, nosing gently at your throat.
Finding your voice, you croak his name. An eldritch purr shudders through him and he grasps at your hips, pulling them back against him. You exhale at the obvious press of his cock to your back. Those soft chitters you had come to love drown out the panic that follows your realisation.
You were the intended mate.
Death stands behind you, arms cinched around your middle, mouthing along the nape of your neck like he loves you. The line between instinct and desire is deceptively thin. You wonder if Shouta knows the difference, or if he equates love with the heat of your blood spilling into his mouth, seams undone by the touch of his lips.
Your legs collapse beneath you, hitting the floor. A grubby applause from the dirt dances around your knees. Shouta accepts your dead weight as though it were nothing, his wings enveloping you both in an abrupt darkness.
Minuscule scales shimmer and reflect the glaring bioluminescence radiating from his eyes. Before you is a sky soaked crimson and blood spattered stars. “Is this…” you start, voice caught in your throat. It should be harrowing. People would call it a depiction of hell. You call it beautiful.
Shouta tucks his nose into your jugular with a warm hum and you feel sharp teeth protruding beneath his lips. Neck ruffle tickles soft against your skin, keeping you tight to his torso, enough that you think he could consume you whole. He’s pleased. You can tell.
Laughter bubbles up in your chest. It’s as if you are a teenager again, sneaking out with someone to see a clear starry night. The moment is incredulously human.
A mothman does not bare his wings to anyone but his mate. Even in flight they are too fast to be seen. You are so enamoured by it that you don’t notice the shift in gravity until the force on your body lightens and your stomach drops.
You squeak. Frantically clinging to his shoulders and turning your face into his neck, Shouta makes a sound suspiciously like laughter. Your body sways in his arms as the too-corporeal trees rise to meet him. What you cannot see you listen out for; leaves rustling, groaning branches, any sign to indicate where you’ve landed.
When his wings retract the shadows do not recede. You’ve been brought to a dark place. A few metres above your head there is a long slit of light bleeding into the lofty space. You’re distinctly reminded of a grave. That thought makes your heart thump hard against your rib cage.
A calm tenor breaks the silence and you refocus on the figure above. Red eyes bleed into the darkness. Long black hair drapes over his shoulders and blends into the light fluffed ruff of his neck, reminiscent of a scarf that extends down his chest and back into his large wings, which he has tucked closely behind him.
Broad feathery antennae flicker on top of his head, so distinctly insect-like, but his body and hands are startlingly human— it would be, if not for the black tipped talons that grew from each finger and toe.
“Are you still frightened?”
You realise you’re being cradled with deliberate care, as if you might shatter. He treats you like this is the first time he has ever met another living thing. There is barely any pressure behind the claws curled at the base of your neck. All you can think is that he’s warm. Soft. Guided by wonder, inhibitions lost in a concussive fog, you reach up to cautiously touch his face.
Shouta had multiple nests. The team before you took over had planted cameras in all of them only for their recordings to be destroyed, pieces left strewn by the food hatch. It agitated him, thus you respected those wishes. But in doing so you also cut off any means of behavioural observation.
This meant you knew of them, but nothing more than that. You had no idea which nests he actually used. You had no idea how he spun them, or what they looked like from the inside.
What you have been lowered into is not a grave, though it is deep and narrow. The bedding yields, padded under your back, emanating the smell of upturned earth and petrichor.
This is his primary nest.
Your tongue feels too thick for your mouth. “You can… you can speak?”
A black tipped finger hooks into the collar of your shirt. You feel it sharp like a knife's edge, and the fabric rips with barely any pressure. Shouta snorts. And then, “Your kind is strange. Presumptuous,” he traces over the swell of your breast. “And soft”.
There’s only intent to satiate his curiosity, but you feel something dangerously warm coil low in your belly. The broad, feathered antennae atop his head curl toward you, almost prehensile in nature, as if they can sense it.
“You can’t,” words fail you as his tongue glides over your pulse. “You’ve never spoken before. You can’t blame me for being surprised”.
“That wouldn’t be logical,” he murmurs. You exhale shakily as his teeth nip gently at your lobe, pressing what could be a kiss to the shell. “It’s not as if your primitive ears would be able to hear me through the glass”.
The baritone of his voice frissons down your spine and you find yourself clenching your thighs. Shouta braces over you until he is all there is— and you are all he sees.
You argue fruitlessly in attempts to maintain self control, “We could’ve talked through the speakers”.
“We could have. But then the other humans would know this part of me,” he replies plainly. “Is that what you want?”
You’re a little embarrassed by the immediate ‘no’ that rolls onto the tip of your tongue. You bite it and let your silence answer for you. A disservice to your team and to your research— you seek truths and yet the truth is you are secretly happy that this is yours and yours alone.
Shouta huffs. He brings your foreheads together and your knees part reflexively to make room for him as he settles between them. The shine in his eyes has dimmed into a simmer. It reminds you of a pyre after the fire has burned; the glowing ash left to cool overnight.
“If I had not played along and acted beastly you wouldn’t have paid attention,” he continues. You tremble as he slots against the cradle of your hips, a suggestive pulse felt between your legs. The size of his body forces your legs wider around his waist. His cock is heavy and the heat emanates through your work pants. He doesn’t move, and he waits.
“You…” you’re breathless when it hits you. “You could’ve left all this time”.
He rises slowly at your words and tilts his head, beckoning you to continue. There is an unwavering composure about him that leaves you uneasy. You got the sense he knew your thoughts before you voiced them.
“You stayed and cooperated with our research. Even though… Some of them treated you like an animal. You could be anywhere but here”.
Shouta gives a disapproving chitter. The sound devolves into a hum. He settles a large hand on the top of your head and leans back into your space, uncomfortably close, as if to impress the answer upon you. “Here is where I am supposed to be”.
He’s not a monster, just something that wants to belong.
Your hand smooths over his cheek to his hair, the other guiding his palm to your chest where your heart sits. He squeezes at your chest, curious. Gentle fingertips brush the antennae rooted in a crown of thick black hair. The sweet resonant purr surges and you watch the touch shudder through his body in awe.
Your blood sings, reacting to his desperate call with a burst of exhilaration. A thought crosses your mind— had it been you he was chasing, or this feeling?
Was this how it felt to be a predator?
“Here. With me…” you rasp, wetting your lips as your eyes fall to his mouth. Shouta smiles and you have to temper the urge to touch his teeth. “I’ve worked here for a long time. Why wait until today?”
“Courting takes time. And though I was sure of you I knew you weren’t ready,” he rasps, rocking up against your sex. A gasp catches in your throat and his antennae flutter in response. “I can smell that you are now”.
“Smell?”
Shouta hums an affirmative. “All creatures have a cycle. Your body changes over the weeks,” the hand over your heart descends to your stomach, resting above your waistband. The repetitive stroke of his thumb is doting, almost. “Soon you will be ovulating”.
You are torn between horror and amazement. The craving to write this down was insatiable. Truthfully it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Shouta could know that— he was finely tuned to his environment. That was the entire purpose of chemoreception.
Regardless, that knowledge instills a sense of vulnerability in you. The scales felt tipped entirely in his favour and there was nothing you could hide from him. It was equally liberating and frightening.
A quiet trill pulls you from your thoughts. He must pick up on your anxiety, because mothman crowds you back against the nest and you sink further with a weak smile, your fingers threading into his fur. Wildflowers and long grass borders your periphery. You hadn’t much chance to appreciate his hard work in the dark.
“Shouta,” you faltered. Perhaps you should be more concerned that giving yourself to him was never a question. “Are you sure it’s me you want? I’m just a human”.
“I see that,” he stated dryly. “But you are my little human. My mate. This is not up for debate”.
Memories surrounding your tentative relationship over the years come to the forefront of your mind. How purposeful and gentle he was, the obvious preference for your company, his willingness to share his secrets and weaknesses just to see you satisfied.
The pregnant pause is mistaken for hesitance. Shouta brings your hand to his throat, inner wrist tickled by the plumage. Soft hair trails up his neck and thins by his jaw. Behind him, his wings unfurl and stretch. Pushing the heel up to his jugular, you feel six deliberate clicks. The rhythm of each is individual, some pitched and others deep, and the silence between is different in length, almost similar to morse code.
“What did you say?”
“Your name,” he rumbles.
There is underlying significance you aren’t privy to, yet you feel it all the same. You meet his gaze. Skin feverish, breathes coming quicker. Your hips twitch helplessly and he bites back a croon.
“Okay. Touch me, ” you slowly coil your arms around his neck and bring him into an embrace. He goes doubtlessly, engaging you with knees settled either side of your hips.
Shouta cuts your clothes off carefully and with ease. The simple hook of a talon and they tore like thin paper. His tongue, long and tube-like at the tip, glides between your breasts, flicking over your nipples and watching with fascination. It’s as though the roles have switched. You are the subject now.
You laugh breathily as he nuzzles into you, palming at your soft stomach. Shouta works his way down your body, giving a curious churring sound as more of your body reveals itself. He tears away your pants, but rather than discard them, he tucks them into the borders of the nest.
The air feels good on your skin, cool where it kisses your arousal. “Hold yourself open for me,” he says. “I want to taste you”.
An overwhelming wave of embarrassment washes over you as he guides your hands to the back of your thighs, ankles hooked over his broad shoulders. Pressure behind his claw-tipped fingers, Shouta gently pries your folds apart to demonstrate his wishes. “Like this”.
You moan, bear down on his tongue at the first lick as it glides over your clit, a shudder rolling through your body at the threat of his teeth. He descends again and again with bottomless yearning, no longer hunger, rather like an elastic compulsion pulled impossibly taut.
A pleased chitter vibrates against you. His wings extend and shudder, looming above like tapestry. “So good,” he breathes in, shameless as he noses along your cunt. “So warm. You smell even better than usual”.
The muscles in your thighs clench as the narrow tip of his tongue teases your entrance. You push down into your heels with a weak cry of complaint and he obliges, gently pushing inside you.
Your breathing falters. “Sh—Shouta,” you croak, reaching down desperately to grasp his plumage the deeper he sinks. It feels never ending, flexing and twisting experimentally as he draws out, still keeping his lips pressed up against you.
Gradually he builds a rhythm. Observing raptly from his place between your legs, his gaze never strays, gleaming when your hips buck into his mouth. It’s his expression that spurs you on— that rapt, intense desire.
Shouta stretches you on his tongue, the obscene slick sound of saliva echoing throughout his nest. The tension low in your belly coils, taut, and you feel it pulse. Your toes curl and you let out a loud, broken moan that sounds like relief.
“Don’t stop. Feels so good,” you keen, balancing right at the crest. Shouta’s pace grows anxious the closer you get, his big hands palming at your thighs, talons pinching skin. He forces them wider as he presses his weight into you with a long groan. “Yeah. That’s it, make me cum. Oh fuck—!”
A moment passes without air, yanked under by the force of it. Your body wrings tight and the tension snaps. Undone, loose at the seams as he takes you through the aftershocks quaking through your body.
You return to yourself, registering the quiet hum reverberating in your skull. Shouta nuzzles your sensitive clit before making his way up your torso. He smells like sex. His ruff, chin and cheeks are wet with arousal. You can taste yourself on his tongue as he licks over the seam of your lips, and shivers when they part to meet him.
The kiss is strange; not quite a kiss, more a press of mouths. You suppose it can’t be helped with teeth like his. His effort is far more endearing than it has any right to be.
Brief fatigue washes over you and settles into a giddy afterglow. The black spots in your vision dissipate. A short, soft chitter comes from his throat. The noise is familiar— they’re exactly like the sounds he would make when you were anxious.
“I’m okay, Shouta. You— You’re a bit too good at that,” you reassured, taking his face into your palms and feeling it in his cheeks when he smiles. The shifting wings behind his head draw your attention as they flutter. He’s near enough for you to reach out and stroke them.
They’re breathtaking. The texture is unlike anything you have ever felt before. You pause at his squirming, “Does it hurt?”
He huffed a laugh. You think that will never get old. “It doesn’t hurt”.
“Feels nice?”
“Too nice,” he says, stroking your hips. Lifting your hips, you grind lightly over his cock. You swallow, noticing how much it had grown, now completely unsheathed. Shouta reflexively chases the feeling, bucking up against your sex. You both hiss at the sensitivity.
Timidly, you ask, “Can I see?”
He nods.
The size is daunting. His cock is curved, long, but more notably it is thick. Fleshy in colour and hot, leaking a clear liquid over your hand. Ribbed around the shaft, the slight bumps slide under your palm as you bring your fist up to the narrowed head. No spikes. Good. If you met God you’d thank him.
It is crowned by sensitive skin, not unlike a human’s, but in gently pulling it back you find it reminds you more of an ovipositor. Shouta’s rumbling deepens, head hung between his shoulders. Drapes of long dark hair fall to curtain his face. His antennae quiver in place, wide red eyes looking back at you.
You feel yourself ache with unfulfilled arousal. Pressing your thighs together does nothing but tease. Shouta watches you guide his cock to the apex of your thighs, his chest heaving as you glide him through your wet folds, drenching yourself in his slick.
The cryptid pushes into you with a gentleness that is almost terrifying in its intensity— so out of place for a supposed harbinger of suffering. “Careful, little human,” he rasps, an ever present humming in his chest.
A pleasant tingling sensation begins to spread throughout your abdomen, relaxing your muscles, like sinking into the soothing heat of a hot bath. You’ve long shut off your avid questions, rendered thoughtless and pliant by the pressure. “Oh,” you exhale, struggling to keep your eyes open. He’s barely halfway in.
Shouta pulls out slowly and rocks back in, repeating the motion as you open up to him. You crane your head, jaw slack as you moan, reaching out to the immense silhouette above you. Everything about him is big. It’s all you can notice. He’s taking handfuls of you, kneading the fat at your thighs, hooking around them and pushing your knees toward your chest.
“Look at you,” his voice is thick and trembling. You whine, watching the way you swallow around him, clit swollen and twitching. “Perfect,” he rasps, the mix of your arousal dampening the fur around his base. He pulls out again, tantalisingly slow, and your legs start to shake.
“Shouta,” you choke, not knowing what it was you were asking for. He gives it to you anyway, rocking forward in one harsh movement, setting a pace that splits you in two. You can almost feel his cock is in your throat; touching parts of you you didn’t know existed; carving out space for himself and making a home of it.
The earlier mindfulness is gone. Shouta sets a divine pace. He shifts on his knees, gripping at your waist with his talons pressing into skin, pulling you down onto his cock. Praises have dwindled into a language you cannot understand, but you recognise those six successive clicks— he’s calling your name, over and over.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck. Ah. What is—?!”
The hypothesis is reaffirmed by the sensation of him stretching you further, widening inside you, inflating as something pulses through his shaft, abandoning his body and slipping into yours. Your mouth falls open as heat prickles across your skin and what feels like a second orgasm crashes over you. You’re left suspended in a free fall that never seems to end.
It feels too good to panic about. Sperm packets or eggs or both— whatever they are, they’re smooth, cooling where they gather inside of you, and right pushing up against your sweet spot. Tremors wrack through your limbs and Shouta appears no better. His upper lip curls, wings fully presented and twitching.
Weak, you wrap your arms around his head and cradle him to your chest. Your fingers brush over the apex of his wings and with barely any exertion, he slams you back onto his cock, a loud groan drawn from his chest. His pelvis slaps against your clit and in a moment of lucidity, you feel the ground rise to meet you.
Rigidity bleeds from your muscles as you cum again, soon replaced by a wave of exhaustion. You grimace at the uncomfortable bloated feeling in your belly. Shouta is muttering, antennae curled and brushing the swell of your cheeks. You can hear his voice. Muffled, as if you were under water, “You did well, little flame”.
Thinking aloud, you mumble, “What if they don’t take?”
He nudges your chin, gathering you into his arms to cocoon you both, “I’ll make sure they do”.

Warnings: non/dubcon, clashing personalities, exclusion, and other dark elements. My username actually says you never asked for any of this.
Characters: moody boy Curtis Everett x bubbly, plus-size reader
My warnings are not exhaustive but be aware this is a dark fic and may include potentially triggering topics. Please use your common sense when consuming content. I am not responsible for your decisions.
As usual, I would appreciate any and all feedback. I’m happy to once more go on this adventure with all of you! Thank you in advance for your comments and for reblogging.
Tumblr media
You vow yourself to confinement. You will not leave your desk for any reason. You even brought a thermos of coffee. The container is a honey brown and the lid has bear ears, an animated face painted on the metal. It makes you smile despite the gloom that clouds you.
You don’t know how it happens. You always mean well but things always end up so wrong. So you’ve determined you’re better off on your own. Minding your own business and getting through the work day without calamity.
It’s lonely. You eat your lunch in your cubicle, watching a crochet video on the small screen of your phone. You still can’t figure out how to get just the right shape for the hippo you’ve been working on. It’s the final piece in your collection; to go along with the giraffe, the elephant, lion, and zebra. With your new job, you haven’t even had the energy to try.
You get back to work, eyes fuzzy as you stare at the spreadsheet. Millennia of human existence and for what? For excel and stale coffee? Is this really progress?
You reign in your wandering mind and work through the numbers. You just want to get through your first week. That will be a feat you can be proud of. You drain the last lukewarm sip from your thermos and pout. You could really use a refill but you will resist. You can’t risk it.
At the end of the day, you sneak out down the stairwell. You’re breathless by the time you reach the bottom, dizzy from the winding levels above. You shake it off and head off. You could use a nice hot bath, those office chairs are really not comfy.
Your night goes by as any does. You get your bath and eat some ramen before tucking into bed and mindlessly scrolling on your phone. You fall asleep with the light on and wake up to the blare of your alarm the next morning.
It’s Friday! You get up and get dressed. A lilac skirt that buttons up the front and a frilly white blouse on top. You pull on a lemon yellow cardigan and a pair of matching flats. It’s bright and fun! Unlike anything else in that gray office.
You shove one of the pillows from the couch into your bag, the one that looks like a sprinkle donut, and grab your thermos. You race out to catch the bus and throw yourself into the day ahead. You just need to make it to the end and you have the whole weekend ahead of you.
Once at your cubicle, you settle in. You place the donut pillow on the thin cushion of the office chair and kneel on the floor as you work at readjusting the backrest and arms. You get up and plop down, testing the height and swiveling a bit. It’s slightly better.
You roll closer to your desk and boot up for the day. You reach for your pen cup but stop short as you find only the boring Bic sticks that overflow the supply cupboards. Huh?
You reach under your desk and grab your bag. You stir around, certain you careless slid your pen in there. You can’t find it! Your most favourite pen is gone. There’s a tiny penguin at the end and the pen’s body is filled with water and glitter that shimmers and looks like falling snow. Where is it?
Your panic has you searching the empty drawers of the desk and down on your knees crawling around. You don’t find it. You give up as your chest sinks and you mope at your monitor, clicking mindlessly on your Outlook and the company’s shared drive.
You sit back and uncap your thermos. You take a drink and nearly choke. Oh no! It’s so bitter it leaves your tongue gritty. The filter must’ve split in the machine again. You let out a blech and get up, letting your chair roll back carelessly.
You go down to the break room and dump the coffee down the sink. That’s when you remember you’re not supposed to be in there. Shoot. You look around. It’s empty. You should have time enough to fill your cup.
You go to the machine and pick a pod from the rack. You don’t pay attention to the flavour, you just want coffee. You wait for the machine to grind and claim your cup as the brew stops below the brim. You quickly retreat back to your desk and sit, leaving the lid off the thermos to let it cool.
Ow! Your tailbone hits the thin seat and jars your spine. You get up and look down at the barren cushion. Your pillow is gone. What the heck?
You roll the chair around, thinking maybe you knocked it off when you stood up. It’s not that hard to miss. Nope, it’s gone.
You look over at Dana as he yawns over a Starbucks cup. She has no donut under her bottom. Who would do that? Who would steal your pillow? You chew your lip and resign yourself to another day of discomfort.
You taste the coffee. Mmm, it must be the dark roast. It’s full-bodied and rich, slightly smoky. You don’t usually go for it, you prefer more caffeine. It might be good for you, you really don’t need the extra jitter.
You plant your elbow beside your keyboard and fall into your work. The office awakens around you. The clack of keys, the clicking of mice, and the low voices that rise and fall over cubicle walls.
You lean back and check the time. Barely an hour in. You stretch your neck and massage your shoulders as you try to work out the kink of your poor posture. As you do, you sense a shadow approach Dana’s desk. You shift your chair and peek over, quickly wheeling back to your desk to hunch down and hide. It’s him.
“Phillips,” he calls her by her last name, “you still in charge of supplies?”
“Morning, Curtis,” she replies tritely, “what is it? We don’t have budget left for tech upgrades until end of month.”
“Coffee,” he growls, “dark roast.”
You tap your foot nervously. You didn’t know he liked the dark roast. If you did, you wouldn’t have taken the last pod. Maybe you should offer him what you have left… no, you should just leave him be.
“I’ll add it to the list,” Dana acquisces dismissively, “anything else?”
He grunts but doesn’t answer as he pivots on his heel. You peek up above the wall of your cubicle and immediately regret it. His attention is drawn by the movement and his eyes meet yours as his features twist into a scowl. You try to smile and he rolls his eyes before setting his shoulders and striding away.
Oh, you have an idea!

sweet calamity | ch 2
Wednesday Addams x Reader
Series Summary: It was something people described as the sweetest pain, the feeling of when the soul that's destined to find yours is closer to you. Wednesday saw it as a curse, promised herself she would hate whoever was chosen for her; but it's easier said than done.
A/N: Slowly, the story is shaping itself, hopefully y'all will like it. Also thank you so much for 7.5K followers, love ya. <3

It was rare the times where you woke up before your alarm, given that you weren't exactly a morning person. But you could barely sleep last night, excitement and apprehension twirling inside your stomach; so it was no surprise when you woke up with the birds this morning.
Today was your first official day at Nevermore, the place where, supposedly, you belong. You were lucky to already know a few of the students here, Eugene for one, who had given you a basic tour of the school yesterday.
To say that Nevermore was big would be an understatement, the ancient, castle-like structure had your anxiety spiking as soon as you walked through the gates. It was a given that you'd take your sweet time getting lost here.
Just as you are right now.
You were leaning back on one of the stone walls on the quad, cell phone in hand as you read one of your mother's latest texts; have a good first day darling, remember to make friends and don't isolate yourself, love you.
With a soft sigh, you typed back the generic response you always gave your mom, a sweet thanks and I love you that usually did the trick so she wouldn't press the matter.
Stashing your phone on your backpack, your gaze roamed over the hallways and doorways, searching for any clues on where the hell botany class was supposed to be. Technically, you could just ask someone. Your fellow outcast colleagues came and went, passing by you nonstop. Yet part of you didn't want to be the lost newbie.
You pushed yourself away from the wall, turning around on the spot, forcing your peers to dodge you as you took a slow step backward to get some new perspective.
And that's when it happened again, so suddenly this time that it got you stumbling on your own feet.
It reminded you of when you accidentally touched that hot frying pan when you were seven. The burning, sharp and angry against your skin; right on the pulse point of your wrist. The same one you felt for the very first time just yesterday, and maybe that was the main reason for your restlessness today.
Your mother always talked with you about soulmates, about how she was lucky to have found hers and that maybe you would be too. But at the end of the day, she was also a realist. She had never once allowed you to dream too big, hope too much. Because she knew it wasn't a reality for everyone.
You grew up in a world of maybes. Maybe you will find yours, maybe you won't; both are okay. And that was your truth, you were content with any outcome.
Until yesterday.
It's strange how a few seconds can change a lifetime.
You had never cared much about having a bond with someone, but then you felt it. It was almost palpable if you focused enough, that fragile red string tied around your finger, sending shockwaves to your heart and changing its rhythm.
Overnight, the thought of breaking this bond became almost unfathomable.
Your backpack bumped into someone when you lost your footing, you quickly turned around with an apology on your lips, but the person spoke first;
"Whoever it was, do it again and I will break each of your fingers." She spoke lowly, with a bite to her tone that gave you goosebumps.
You could tell she straightened her tie before turning around to face you, and once she did so — ever so slowly — any words you had tangled on your tongue faded completely.
She was all raven black hair and smooth pale skin, her lips had a dark shade of burgundy to them, shaping the lines to perfection; if you squinted, you could see freckles over her nose; her eyes were just as dark as her hair, lashes kissing the corner of her cheeks as she blinked once, twice and then kept her gaze on you with a faint frown to her eyebrows.
Something about her got your heartbeat going haywire. It was addictive.
Only when the silence was bordering awkward that you found your voice again; "shit, I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to bump into you." It didn't help your nerves that you could feel the eyes of the passing students on you, as if they were watching a live decapitation ceremony — plus the ever-present ache on your skin.
Talk about an eventful first day.
All the girl did was angle her chin up, her eyes skimming up and down your body. "Stop walking backwards and maybe it won't happen again."
You pursed your lips, nodding once. Touche. "That's great advice, actually." You attempted a smile, but when you got no response back, you continued; "uh anyway, I have to go to botany class so, I see you around?"
If you looked closely, you could tell she acknowledged your words with a nod of her own. Figuring that's all you were getting, you turned around and took a step the opposite way.
A beat or two passed, almost as if she was considering if you were worth her time of day or not.
"I'm heading to botany as well," the raven-haired girl's voice called after you.
You looked at her over your shoulder.
"And that is not the way." She told you pointedly, raising a perfectly styled eyebrow at you.
Good one, idiot. Was all you could think to yourself.
You stood in the middle of the hallway with six feet between you and the girl whose name you were already itching to know, unsure if she wanted you to tag along or not.
"I'm not gonna wait on you forever," she said then, impatiently, and you scrambled to fall into step beside her.
You followed by her side as she left the quad, passing through Nevermore's gardens — which were breathtaking this time of year, the huge trees with a mix of faded green and yellow on their leaves, some of them already forming a blanket on the grass beneath them, old stone paths for you to walk on and a cold breeze in the air, countered by warm sunlight; you could spend hours out here — until you saw the big greenhouse in the distance.
"Thank you for this," you spared a timid glance at the girl beside you, "really, I would probably still be walking in circles if it wasn't for you."
There was no response other than a blank look in your general direction; you wanted to hear her voice though. "I'm Y/N, by the way." The question about her own name went unsaid.
Did you always have the need to speak so much? Wednesday wondered.
By no means, she was one to care enough in helping newcomers find their way around. They could be bothersome, asking too many questions and delaying her routine.
Yet there was something about you that got her feeling uneasy when she considered parting ways. For a second, she wondered if it was your soul that was doomed with hers, but you had already bumped into her and the cursed burning was still there; with no pattern to it, ever unpredictable, resembling the push and pull of waves on the oceanside yet never going away entirely.
And Wednesday wanted to be annoyed, she should be annoyed, shouldn't she? Because the sooner she finds out who her other half is, the sooner she can put an end to it.
She wasn't. She wasn't bothered that it wasn't you. Because the thought of hating you was slightly unappealing.
Her jaw was tight, sunlight framing her profile and reflecting on her pupils as she said; "Wednesday."
Were you going to be another Enid? Talking her ears off every given minute only to warp your way inside her cold heart eventually?
Wednesday let out an indignant scoff at the mere thought of it.
Her response lit you up like a Christmas tree; "Enid's roommate?"
You reached the greenhouse and Wednesday stopped in front of the glass doors. She turned to face you, her eyebrows scrunched in confusion.
"Uh, we're friends," you were quick to elaborate, eyes focused on the way Wednesday's fringe flowed with the wind, "well, our parents are friends so we became friends too, she talked a lot about you on vacation. I almost feel like I already know you."
To that, Wednesday sharpened her gaze daringly, sure that Enid's version of her had the potential to be twisted into something sweetly inaccurate.
And was it bad that your panicked face was somewhat adorable?
"Not trying to imply that I do," you hurriedly said, eyes a tad too wide, "I'm just saying that I've heard a lot about you."
You amused her; the same way a cat finds it amusing to play with its prey. There was a ghost of a smile on Wednesday's lips; "yes, we do share a room."
The greenhouse was already partly filled with students when you walked in together, its glass walls almost entirely covered by plants, allowing only little bits of sunlight to come through as the smell of several different flowers engulfed your senses.
There were a few seats empty, but when you settled on a table at the back, Wednesday felt compelled to follow suit, making herself comfortable on the chair beside yours.
You kept surprisingly quiet during most of the class, taking notes in your notebook and occasionally tapping your pen against the paper but other than that, quiet. Wednesday felt strangely at ease in your company.
Wednesday had her hands neatly resting on the table, half listening to the new teacher's boring explanation about a poisonous plant and half counting the new species added to the greenhouse since she last came here.
She had counted twelve by the time her attention was captured, by you, no less.
There was a potted orchid resting by your side, it was a small thing, its soil a little too dry and its petals a little too pale — apparently the new teacher wasn't as attentive with her plants.
Wednesday watched the way you raised a hand to the poor flower, fingertips grazing the tip of its petals, and from each place you touched, a burst of life erupted. Slowly, the flower regained its bright colors, the leaves standing tall again in a deep shade of green at the same time that a loving smile came to your lips.
"Interesting," this time, Wednesday was the one to break the silence.
Her voice made you flinch, as if you had been in your own world for a moment. You took a deep breath before saying; "she was looking a little sad."
With her eyes still on the colorful orchid, Wednesday asked; "you make things come to life?"
"Uh, plants mostly," you shrugged, like even you didn't know the full extent of your abilities, "but yeah."
You looked up at Wednesday, not expecting to find her eyes already on you; dark as the night, if you looked closely, you could find galaxies in them to get lost in. You couldn't remember ever becoming this quickly infatuated with someone before, so much so, that it got you wondering — hoping — what if it's her?
The hairs on your arm stood up, a shiver going up and down your back. Could it be her?
"Enid always loved it," you forced out, at the same time that you forced the what-ifs out of your head — because you could almost hear your mother saying; hope is dangerous, don't ever let it overcrowd your senses. "She used to tell me that I'm lucky, that I could just conjure up any bouquet I'd want when I find my soulmate," you grinned at the memory, "and I always told her it was not that simple, that I can't make things out of thin air."
"Enid can be naive," Wednesday stated, tone a tad too tight, "she often times sees the world through rainbow lenses."
You chuckled, "do I sense some disdain?"
There's a beat before Wednesday says anything; a beat where she just looks at you, wondering when you got so comfortable with her, and why she let you.
"Quite the contrary," she tells you then, "Enid is one of the few people I tolerate here."
You smiled faintly, eyes downcast and focusing on Wednesday's hands instead of her eyes, "not for Enid."
Wednesday blinked slowly as understanding downed on her, she straightened in her seat; "most people fail to realize that having your soul linked to another is nothing short of a burden." Her words rolled off her tongue easily, that was her truth.
You nodded, not agreeing but acknowledging her view, "why would it be a burden?"
"Because no one asked for it, it's an inconvenience that's forced upon you. And people expect you to just accept it, love it, even," Wednesday told you, her eyebrows scrunched together in anger, "why would I ever want something like that?"
Your lips parted as you felt her hatred as if it was choking you, her black nails tapping against the table at the same rhythm your heart pumped blood. "What happens if you meet yours?"
"For their sake, I hope it never happens."

From This Life to the Next
Tumblr media
Ancient words tell me we were destined to meet.
For eternity, our souls are bound; yet this life feels as though it is the only world.
I know not what fate I have set for myself, but the sacrifice must be made.
It is my mission for your tears to fade.
Recalling something you once said to me, I promise we shall meet again.
In another life, our hands shall touch.
If battle awaits, even still, I will accept it.
Just as you protect them all, I will fight for you.
This is one of my contributions to @zelinkcommunity's Zelink Week 2023! Day Six: In Another Life
I did something a bit different for today! I figured every memory that for the prompt was a little too spoiler-y, so I did whatever this is instead. Remember to check out all the other great work posted for today!
{ For this week, I have been posting a little peek at art/writing for memories in Call of the Forgotten, a TotK rewrite I am working on (there will obviously be direct and indirect spoilers for TotK). They follow the Ancient Hero and Princess during the time of the First Great Calamity. If you haven't given them a look yet, I recommend doing so! }
Art Information: (Check out my art blog @nocturnalfandomartist!)
Thank you for reading! Check out the first concept doodles of the First Calamity here! Obviously, this is all very incomplete; but most is planned out thoroughly! If you have questions, just ask!

“So, you must be Clementine then, huh?”
The palomino huffs back, examining you with big brown eyes. Her ears flicker with interest, no doubt curious to the strange new human holding taking her by the lead to the other end of town. You can’t blame her for being wary, you’d feel the same if your beloved companion left you for another so you can only imagine how she and your Valentine are feeling right now.
Tumblr media
She’s not the only one cautious of you. It’s hard not to miss the many townsfolk eyeing you down, what with how last night went. Between the robbery and your duel, everyone’s on high alert for the foreseeable future.
One would like to believe they’d be more grateful you didn’t outright kill the guy. Maybe they wouldn’t care so much if you were a man instead of a natural born, gunslingin’ woman, but sucks to suck. That drunken fool is lucky you decided to be nice and let him off with just a mangled hand. Had it happened after Valentine was stolen, the results would have been much different.
You hitch Clementine up outside the gun store, pushing past the door and greeting the shopkeeper. They’re about the only person so far today not afraid of you, but in all fairness, he’s the one with a dozen guns an arm’s length away.
“Lookin’ for anything in particular, Ma’am?”
You hum in response, scanning the available goods displayed out across the various shelves. There’s plenty of ammunition for a good price; wouldn’t hurt to replenish your pistol stocks after that duel. You decide on a few, bringing them over to the checkout counter.
“I’ll take these and…” Glancing up behind the clerk, there’s several cabinets containing an assortment of larger weaponry. A little voice creeps up from the back of your head offering a wonderful idea. “…maybe a rifle, depending on what ya have.”
He turns his back to you, unlocking one of the many units. Across the empty counter in front of you, he places down a few options, naming them as he goes, “Rolling Block, Varmint, Springfield, Bolt Action…take your pick.”
You’re instantly drawn to the Rolling Block, a girthy beauty that screams power and fine craftsmanship. “How’s the firepower on this one?” you ask, lifting the weapon up to better examine.
“You won’t find much competition with that one,” he tells you, and that’s exactly what you like to hear.
If someone dares to so much as think they can get away with stealing your horse, then you’re sure as hell going to track them down and put a gaping hole right where their heart should be. That black-haired outlaw better watch his back if he knows what’s coming. Once all is said and done with, Calamity Jane will be needing a new nickname after you usurp that throne.
“How much?”
“$187 even, Ma’am.”
Tch, that’s steep. And more than you have on hand thanks to the rest being buried in Valentine’s satchel.
You sigh, begrudgingly looking over the rest of the artillery. “How about the rest?”
“The Varmint here is our cheapest at $72 if you’re goal is hunting rabbits and other small game; otherwise the Springfield is our next cheapest at $120.”
You replace the Rolling Block in your hands with the Springfield Rifle, trying it out just like you did with the former. It’s lighter in weight with less range on the scope, but the clerk assures you that with some express or high velocity bullets, distance won’t be an issue.
“I’ll take this then.” You pass a billfold to the clerk, seething once again over why you’re doing this to begin with. Money’s hard to come by in this day and age, as far as legal opportunities go for someone like you. So help that bastard if he finds the rest of your stash and decides to take that for himself.
Leaving the store with your new weapon in hand, you’re quick to notice a gathering of lawmen outside the Sheriff’s office just across the street. A dozen uniforms with an equal number of horses all geared and ready to go.
“Who’s the Sheriff around here?” you call out, approaching the group.
“That would be me, Miss.” The crowd parts, making room for a young, white-haired man. “Sheriff Satoru Gojo. How may I be of service to you on this lovely day?”
You scoff, This guy? He’s clean as a whistle. Even the star on his chest could be mistaken for a mirror with how much he’s shined it.
Any other time and his equally bright smile might feel akin to fresh rain in the New Austin desert, but currently, it’s more like greeting the sun after a wicked night in the saloon.
“I’d like to know what’s being done about those thieves from last night.”
His blue eyes wander your figure up and down. Curious, but invasive. “You’re not with the bank, are you?”
Does it look like I’m wearing a suit or a fancy dress?
“My horse was stolen by one of those bastards and I intend on getting her back. Today,” you hiss impatiently.
Giving attitude to a man of the law may not be the smartest decision lest you desire a night behind bars, but to be fair, you have every right to be pissed given the circumstances. Had they have been competent in their line of work, then the criminals wouldn’t have gotten as far as they had or even been able to leave town in the first place.
It’s infuriating.
And the nonchalant nature of this man only pisses you off further.
“You’re in luck then, Miss…?”
You reply to the man with your name, sternness evident in your tone.
“Pretty name for a pretty girl,” he remarks, earning a glare of disapproval from you that he shrugs off with a laugh. “My deputies and I are heading out on a lead if you want to sit tight inside.”
You place a hand over your hip, all nice and sassy with your face anything but. “I’d rather come with y’all than sit on my ass.”
Satoru takes the lead of a pristinely clean cremello stallion, its fur almost as perfectly white as the hair on its rider’s head. “I won’t stop you, but…” He pauses, hoisting himself up and over the saddle effortlessly, showing off those long legs of his. “…it could be dangerous.”
You pat the gun holster attached to your hip, just another way of showing that you’re anything but the normalcy ‘round here. “I think I’ll be just fine.”
The rim of his darkly colored cattleman hat dims his facial expression as he hunches down over the horn of the saddle, but not the light coming from that toothy grin stretching ear to ear.
“I don’t doubt that for a second, I’m aware of the duel that occurred last night.”
“Good, so then you know I mean business,” you warn, not once wavering from the eye contact with Satoru.
He outstretches his hand, beckoning for you to accept. “Of course. You want to ride up here with me then so we can get going?”
“Thanks, but no thanks,” you respond, pointing your thumb behind you at Clementine. “This girl will do just fine.”
“Didn’t steal her, I hope?” he teases in an effort to lighten the situation. It doesn’t necessarily work as you roll your eyes the moment your back turns on him. From there, you and the rest of the deputies mount up to leave town, destination unknown.
You hunker back from the rest of the posse, allowing the mare to instinctively follow while you take in the surrounding sights. You had come to this town from a different path than the one you’re marching on now, but given the view, you’ll for sure find yourself adventuring out here again in the future. The settlers here picked a beautiful spot to build the city of Valentine on. In the distance lie snow-kissed peaks and plateaus in nearly every direction, a wide-open prairie, and now the freshwater stream trailing at your side.
The stream runs clear as crystal, giving you an easy view of all the trout and pike that call it home. Measly shadows darting around in search of food and the ducks swimming along the surface. Sunlight catches on all the ripples, reflecting a dazzling lightshow of effects.
“So… what brings you to our fair city?”
You turn to your opposite side where Satoru and his majestic stallion ─ Mugen as you’ve come to discover its name to be ─ are nestled up at your side, stirrups annoyingly clashing with utter disregard for personal space.
“Do I need a reason or permission to come?”
“Well, no,” he pouts, “but as Sheriff I like to know who all is coming and going.” He further invades your bubble by leaning over in front of your line of sight, leather scrunching with every motion. “Besides, you’re an interesting change to the usual visitors. How could I not be curious?” he adds pointedly.
You sigh, giving in to his questioning. He doesn’t seem like a bad guy after all, compared to the horse thief you’re eagerly waiting to meet later. Satoru’s merely caught you on a bad day is all.
“I’m just a traveler like any other,” you drawl, a seldom undertone in your voice. “I used to call Tall Trees home, but that’s long in my past.”
“Bear country, huh?” He whistles out of surprise. “No wonder you’ve got the balls of one.”
“You could say that.” An amused huff leaves you. “Hunting bears is what ensured our survival up around Aurora Basin,” you explain, looking off in the direction of the mountains you at one point called home. “Had to watch our asses at all times to avoid Brumas or Lobo’s pack always hanging around our house.”
“Brumas?”
“Yeah, she’s a local legend in those parts. ‘A giant clad in golden fur.’” You exaggerate with your hands the sheer size of the bear. “Many doubt her existence, but my dad and I saw her firsthand one winter while hunting elk. Barely made it out intact but we made sure to leave her with a memorable scar on her face.” The memory of that day pulls the edges of your lips upwards.
“It's kill or be killed,” the words of your father sound in your head. “Either you stand your ground and fight back, or you won’t survive in this world.”
As they say, there’s always a method to the madness. Grizzly hunting as a kid is what geared you up to take no shit from others today. Especially for a lone woman carving her way through the frontier, you need to have the balls of a bear as the man next to you so sweetly described.
“Yikes,” Satoru grimaces at the fierce display of your nature stretching across your face. “Remind me not to get on your bad side.”
“Help me get my horse back today in one piece and you won’t have to worry.” You wink.
“By my honor as Sheriff of Valentine, I will get your steed back.” He pulls a semi-auto pistol from his belt, twirling it around his finger like you’d find in those animated photographs big cities always show off. The cocky cowboy, slick as could be with the metallic extension of themselves. “I’m the strongest, after all.” He winks back.
You have to hand it to him; he knows how to make an insufferable day a little less so; like a chaser you’d have following some throat-burning liquor. All it took was just some conversation and fond thoughts to get you back in the right mindset.
A pungent smell wafts your way sooner down the path, the luscious greens of the shrubbery abruptly turn to charred remains covering the expanse of land before you. A thin boundary of life and death.
“Forest fire?” you question rhetorically at first, but Satoru offers an answer.
“Kinda, we’re approaching what used to be a town by the name of Limpany.” He pauses, exhaling a discontent sigh. “Burned to the ground last year along with the rest of what you see.”
Kinda?
“Do you know how it started?”
There’s another brief pause, enough to shift the atmosphere in an awkward direction. You aim your head at Satoru, finding his downcast expression and a bittersweet smile. He brushes his fingers through Mugen’s mane, finding comfort with his trusted familiar.
“Since you told me your story, I’ll tell you some of mine,” he begins, taking in a focused breath. “My best friend and I were once deputies together, our sights set on becoming the sheriffs of a town no one would dare mess with thanks to our presence.” A flicker of remorse passes through the depths of his blue orbs. “We had a job that went sideways, and it wasn’t the same for us after.”
“How so?”
“I went on to become sheriff like we originally planned, but Suguru started to pull back and decided on going home to Limpany for a while.”
A pit in your stomach forms, giving you a sinking suspicion as to where this story could go. Considering his mood, the destination ahead, and the reveal of someone important to his life, there appears to be more to this as a whole than just a bank robbery. Nevertheless, you allow him to speak freely.
“Suguru discovered some serious corruption going on in the town by its people. In response, he ended up decimating nearly the entire town in one night, sparing no one. From that day forward, he became a wanted criminal in the eyes of the law.”
You wonder what could have been so severe to require that much lethal force, but at the same time if you were in his shoes, you might make the same choices. It wouldn’t be that far off on things you’d do considering how you decided to get back at the men who stole the lives of your parents.
Now here you are sympathizing with the man you’re hunting for your own personal vendetta. Oh how the tables have turned once you see the other side.
“I take it this Suguru is your gold thief?”
He sighs, “Unfortunately, that looks to be the case.” As you already expected to hear.
The town comes into sight, and with that, an end to your conversation. You’re surprised to see that despite the raging inferno that had occurred, buildings remain standing all along the settlement. Crumbling and disregarded, but still feasibly sturdy.
Smoke still hovers in the air as nature has yet to blossom and overtake the land once more. Maybe once spring has truly set in, new life will occur in its wake. So far, It’s quiet, but that may not necessarily be a good sign. Satoru orders his men to disperse throughout the town, going door to door in search of any signs of the gang.
The two of you hitch your horses out front of what used to be the Limpany Sheriff’s Department. The lettering on the building has long since faded from the flames but remains legible to a degree. Next door however is a jailhouse that stands without issue, and scarce of any blemishes. While Satoru is occupied with the main building, you decide to check out what lies beyond the iron door. There’s a click as you pull the safety of the gun, cautiously opening the door and ready for whatever lies inside.
Come to find out, it’s empty. The eeriness of the room sets off a trail of goosebumps down your spine. There’s smoke damage on the walls inside, but elsewhere nothing is damaged as far as you can tell. One of the locked cells houses two adult skeletons shackled to the wall. The bones of their wrists still nestled between the cuffs. The cell across somehow felt more ominous. The door is opened, leading to an empty room which in itself isn’t a cause for concern, but the scattered loot tells a different story. You bend down to pick up once such piece.
Is this… a child’s shoe?
Your eyes widen.
No doubt that one, but multiple children were being held in this very cell for reasons unknown. Is this what Suguru had come home to find…?
“Surprised? I know I was when I first saw this.”
His voice startles you, causing your sudden turn to meet him. “Satoru, what is this?”
“Corruption,” he answers bluntly.
What a cruel world this can be to live in. And with that thought, you can’t blame Suguru for crossing that threshold of sin.
A commotion sparks up outside, drawing both of you to the door. “Sheriff, come quick!” One of the deputies calls out. You get up to follow Satoru out as the two of you are led to another section of town where lawmen have quickly begun to circle. “It looks like they camped here and left this morning! There’s fresh hoofprints everywhere too.”
“Mount up!” Satoru shouts confidently, “They couldn’t have gotten far, let’s not waste any more daylight here!”
You’re about to whistle for your horse off muscle memory when you immediately have to remind yourself that she wouldn’t be able to hear your call.
They don’t prepare you for these things.
Valentine is all you have left right now. Losing her is like losing family. As much as you find yourself resonating with Suguru, the fact remains that you’re heartbroken without her. Hopefully she’s safe and the two of you will be reunited again soon. You brush the thoughts, running off with Satoru before galloping off with the rest of the posse.
The roads outside Limpany aren’t the most well-travelled, so for any decent enough tracker, the thousand-pound impressions in the dirt are easy enough to spot. There’s evidence a wagon or two may have joined the group, all leading down the Dakota river towards the Upper Montana. Trees quickly become scarcer as you enter this new area thanks to logging companies, making it easier to see everything in front of you but at the same time, everyone can see you as well.
The group stops short of a tree line near the river to use as cover. Up ahead lies a small home and barn to match looking all too lively and full for its size. A fatal flaw in their attempt at laying low, but one you’re thankful for. Pulling out a pair of binoculars from your satchel, you investigate the scene. There’s a long, gray-haired man and another shorter bald guy walking around, weaponry in hand, and several more interesting characters around. Among the dozen horses grazing from their posts, none are Valentine.
“Are those the men we’re looking for?”
“Looks like it,” the white-haired man sighs, tightening the grip on his own pair of binoculars. “I see some other wanted faces the Outlaw Killer was looking into.”
“The Outlaw Killer?” you scoff, quirking a brow. Interesting title that speaks for itself.
“Yeah,” he snickers. “He’s a crazy bounty hunter. You’d know him if you saw him, I’m sure. Grouchy asshole that only ever wears black ─ hell, I think all his guns and even his lasso are the same color.” He rolls his eyes and an image of the blacked-out stallion and its flirt of an owner came to mind from the night before. So much for a bad temperament.
“Good to know,” you hum, raising your new rifle from its holster, taking aim at the gray-haired man first on instinct.
“Woah woah woah, what are you doing?” Satoru’s urgent voice fills your ear.
“What’s it look like?” you calmly reply, “I’m gonna pick them off one by one.” The safety clicks just as the man reaches out with a hand on the barrel to low the gun.
“I’m itching to get this done with as much as you are, but I’d like to arrest them, not kill.”
You click your tongue out of annoyance, “What’s your plan then, Sheriff?”
“Let’s just get a little closer and see what more we can learn first. It won’t do us any good if they’ve stashed the gold, and I doubt they’ll tell us anyways.”
He has a point, sadly. For now, you’ll just have to go along with it. You lean on the reins with a tap of your heel to guide Clementine. “Have it your way, but just remember that I’m not the one wearing a silver star.”
“Hey if this goes well, I’m more than happy to give you one.” He smiles, following your lead with the rest of his men. Once again, he’s got Mugen right up at your side, hunched over the saddle to see your face. “You’re just the kind of attitude we could use; that and I’m enjoying your company.” You roll your eyes but the faint smile tugging at your lips gives you away all too easily.
Being a deputy isn’t something you’ve had in mind before given your sense of exploration and all, but another way one could view it is imagining it as a means of settling down somewhere. An ever-growing supply of work paired with using your favorite set of skills to earn money; all and all giving you stability and a place to call home if you ever decide that’s what you want in life.
It's worth thinking about if he’s serious. A second option to consider on top of Kento’s.
To avoid spooking the gang, you and the rest of the posse tie the reins of your mounts to some trees a few yards back from the tree line closer to the homestead. From there, it’s all about maintaining a stealthy approach. Plenty of shrubbery dots the property, so even with the lack of tall standing trees, you’re able to keep as low a profile as you can without inciting a shootout. The rest of the men can have their fun with their hunt for gold or apprehending dangerous individuals. Your first and foremost objective is securing Valentine.
Since she’s not outside, one can only assume she’s in the barn out of sight. It’s a good size, but in desperate need of some TLC as you learn the moment some rotted wood snaps cleanly off with a simple tug. You crawl through from the back, entering the structure into a bed of hay. Looking up from the ground, you quickly find that it’s not just you stuck in a 12x12 box.
A familiar tobiano paint stands proudly, turning his head in your direction. Beautiful black and white markings cover the gelding with a splash of white on one side of its face revealing a sole blue eye. The other eye is a rich shade of brown, surrounded by black fur.
“Good boy,” you whisper to the horse, hoping to not frighten him or anyone else that may be inside to your presence. He eyes you back with a huff and some widened eyes, but thankfully their ears move in attentive patterns rather than that of aggression.
You measle around to the front of the stall, managing to swoon him with your pets between soft whispering coos. “I should steal you and show him how it feels. You want that, big guy?”
A high-pitched whinny pierces the air, drawing your eyes to your long-lost Valentine one stall over. She stomps her foot aggressively, but her warning comes all too slow before the stall door flings open. Before you can reprimand yourself for being snuck up on, let alone draw your gun, the opposing force already has their own aimed nearly point blank.
“My, I didn’t expect anyone to check here first, let alone wish to steal Uzumaki from me?”
You turn slowly towards the man you’ve been wanting to see all night and day. The same silky-haired bastard that made off with your mare. He stares you down the iron sight of a Cattleman’s revolver, holding a salacious grin as he takes amusement in this whole ordeal.
“I think it’s only fair, seeing as you stole my own horse after your little escapade in town last night.” Unlike his suave tones, your voice is laced with the venom of a diamondback rattlesnake. Just because he has you cornered, doesn’t mean you’re any less dangerous than a pit viper itching to strike.
The sound of gunfire alerts you both to the events unfolding outside the shabby walls of the stable, all with the shouting of a dozen men. The sliding door to the entrance of the barn opens with a bang, and the outlaw is quick to draw up a second revolver at the new arrival.
“Suguru, put your guns down.” Satoru says, trying to mask the hints of pain and grief beneath a stoic demeanor.
On the other end, Suguru is cheerful and keeps his sight set on the other with a cheshire smile. “Satoru~ long time no see.”
You clear your throat, reminding the two of your third wheeling presence. “Nice reunion and all, but you’re outnumbered here.”
“That may be.” he pauses, rolling his head in your direction once more. “But I’m holding the guns here so it’s up to you both to decide how you want to walk out of here.”
Tumblr media
Funny how things ended up working out after that.
Between some more bickering, monologues, thundering hooves, and dwindling gunfire, who knew a simple suggestion to “kiss and make up” would lead to you being sandwiched between them in one of the empty available stalls occupying square bales of hay to use as surfacing.
Straw digs into your back annoyingly, but the pleasure of two cocks in either end transition you to a state of euphoria. Muffled whimpers fail to escape, instead warping around Satoru buried deep in your throat. It’s long, veiny, and curves in all the right directions. His hands find comfort over the mound of your breasts, kneading into the flesh with each thrust.
You can’t see it, but those breathtaking blue eyes look in awe of your figure adorned with a sheen of sweat and the sight of Suguru’s cock disappearing into your perfect little pussy. “So pretty,” he purrs, noting how you’re glowing brighter than any star could hope to achieve, silver or not.
Suguru’s hands brand the dipping of your hips with a bruising grip, rutting into you with his especially girthy extension. Each jerk of his body hits right into a sweet spot bringing you ever closer to undoing the knot at the base of your core.
They both momentarily pause as you begin to unravel, choking out cries that leave Satoru reeling with pleasure from the tightness of your throat. Suguru feels it too. Your gummy walls encasing around him in erratic motions. The two of them aren’t far away from their own release.
The sounds each make only serve to keep the wings of your pussy fluttering for more. Irresistibly charming, and all the more passionate given the shared history they share, and you now caught in the middle.
Suguru leans forward over you, cupping Satoru’s cheek to draw him closer, crashing their lips together in a messy embrace. That one action forces each to come undone, painting both ends of you so perfectly white. They pull out, savoring the whining noise you release from the loss. The black-haired man takes a moment to admire how you clench around nothing and the cum gushing out like a waterfall of love.
“How are you feeling, baby?” Suguru asks, and both Satoru and you simultaneously answer positively making him chuckle all low and honey-like.
“You’re doing so well, but we’re not done just yet…” Both men exchange a look, as if reading one another’s mind. Soulmatism at its finest. “Well, Satoru?”
“It’s been too long, Suguru,” he responds gleefully. Satoru then proceeds to lift your tiring body up and onto his lap, making you straddle him as the other comes around into your view. “Ready for more, princess?”
“Less talk, more stuffing,” you scoff, taking it upon yourself to line his tip with your eager cunt, graciously accepting him into the depths beyond what Suguru could reach.
“You heard the pretty lady, Satoru,” the other whispers into his ear, nibbling the lobe as he slowly thrusts up into the man. The slick coating his shaft that you provided just moments ago make for a smooth entry, earning a deep fulfilling rumble from Satoru.
His fingers slid up your thighs and over the curves of your body, pressing into the plush to bounce you on him. You saw plenty before of the cobweb of veins that marble his cock, but feeling the ridges trailing along your insides leaves you breathing out such sinful sounds. He works it like the most formal of fountain pens, writing poetry on velvet walls that could put even Shakespeare to shame.
“Fuuh-uck,” you murmur, burying your face in the crook of Satoru’s neck, shamelessly letting him contort your body however he desires. Your arms wrap tightly around his neck and hair, locking him in against your bare chest.
“Now now, don’t go hiding yourself,” Suguru says between disheveled breaths, trying not to let his pace falter as he urges your face up. He overtakes your lips, mixing sloppy kisses with nips across your bottom lip.
Satoru uses this chance to pepper your open neck with marks fashioned all in his name, biting down with more force each time his lover hits that sweet spot inside. He can feel not only his own chest tighten, but his balls as well.
Suguru breaks the kiss, but only to push the two in front of him down. The weight of Satoru comes down over you, taking your mouth against his and soaking up the taste of all the combined flavors. Suguru unleashes powerful thrusts into Satoru that force him in and out of your own body as he chases his high.
“You missed me this much, Suguru?” He gazes over his shoulder, smiling as he tries to form cock-drunk words. “S-so much more aggressive than usual, f-feels good.”
“Not a day goes by where I don’t see a reminder of you.” You can just barely make out the seldom, yet saccharine face Suguru makes, your own vision clouded with a hazy white. “It’s just like the old days with o-our new friend here.”
“Our princess here is taking us so well, isn’t she?”
“She is,” he says, and you feel feather-light touches come over your thighs that attempt to coil around Satoru for closeness. “You’re such a good girl, I bet you want to cum, don’t you?” You feverishly nod, unsure how much longer you can hold out.
“Come on, baby.” A finger moves over your clit drawing star-shaped patterns until that’s all you’re able to see. “T-that’s it,” he drawls, following soon after.
Hot ropes of cum spill out inside you once more, making a beautiful cocktail of three. Suguru mercilessly ruts into Satoru until he himself finishes, savoring the feeling he’s long since missed and relishing in the new ones you’ve brought him.
Satoru’s body relaxes leaving you trapped underneath. You take the time to brush your fingers through his hair as you come down off your high, feeling yourself ground to the Earth in the process.
Suguru pulls out, leaving a chaste kiss to you both. His delicate fingers push the hair of your face, admiring the beauty of your afterglow. You close your eyes, soaking up the feeling of one another, completely oblivious to anything else.
Well, almost oblivious.
“It’s been fun seeing you again and meeting such a lovely new woman,” Suguru starts. You open your eyes and Satoru as well to see Suguru dressed and mounted atop the tobiano. “I’ve got to get home before my daughters begin to worry. See you around sometime.” He winks, galloping out of the stable before either of you can say another word.
Satoru stands up, exhaling a defeated sigh. The plan to arrest Suguru ended up with the two of you being detained by love. Both his gang and the gold are long gone to wherever his hideout lies.
Satoru helps you up, cleaning you off as best he can before readying the horses, and yes, that means yours too.
Valentine is home, back with her family.
You.
As you sit atop her on route back to the city of Valentine, you feel a discomfort in your clothes and the crunching of parchment to follow. The source of which is a pamphlet courtesy of Suguru, detailing drawings and hints on how if you’re interested, you can use these clues to find him and his camp of outlaws.
And so, a third opportunity for your future presents itself, but that’s for the future. For now, the only thing on your mind is a steak dinner. Here’s hoping the Butcher has finished his job.

Because I miss him :(
And this is a wonderful half-collab with @angry-trashcan. I love you so very much and thank you for letting me yell ideas at you.

・❥・Welcome back. :)
・❥・So, we've established Sage as his own character at this point. I think it's safe to say he is not Wild. They are similar but two very distinct characters. That is something I'd like to clarify.
・❥・But we'll step into that later.
・❥・For now, let's talk about his entire timeline from start to finish.
・❥・So, Bailey and I talked about his parents and this is the conclusion we came to:
・❥・As everyone knows, Link in the AoC/BotW/TotK timeline was in the knights by a staggeringly young age. Either four or twelve or fourteen. I've seen them all, but I'm not sure if there's a canon age.
・❥・For Sage, we're going with four.
・❥・Now, let's start with his father. Sage's father was in the knights as a commanding officer, which is why he was okay with Link joining the knights. However, because of this a lot more expectations were placed on a very young Sage. And if he failed the punishments were much harsher and much less justified.
・❥・There were nights when Sage/Link was left on the ground outside because his father didn't deem him worth the effort and forbade people from helping him.
・❥・He'd walk past and spit on this terrified child because he didn't live up to expectations. "Your mother would've been so disappointed."
・❥・(shout out to Bailey for ripping out all of our hears with that line.
・❥・Because of this Sage finds much more comfort sleeping outside. Even a a century later, he prefers the comfort of a constant rather than a bedroom he was never allowed the privilege of knowing.
・❥・When he gets his house in Tarrey Town, he builds the stable extension first and slips outside with Epona.
・❥・We also agreed that his mother most likely died during the birth of his sister, which is probably why they had to move out of the Hateno house and closer to the castle, if not on the castle grounds.
・❥・If I had to make an assumption on his mother, she was probably a timid woman that never stood against his father.
・❥・This is really just my lil tidbit but because of that headcanon it's why I made Aaliyah such an abrasive character because I feel Sage would feel too much like his father with someone who reminded him of his mother. Or the little bits he remembers of her.
・❥・Anyway, his mother was probably a seen rather than heard woman,
・❥・Now, you're probably asking about his sister. We decided that she would've ended up as a maid/servant in the castle.
・❥・This is for two reasons:
・❥・One) It adds to hatred Sage has for the Royal Family. As a knight he would've had no choice but to watch this happen and would feel that burning guilt as a bystander, ignoring the fact that he has no choice in the matter. Maybe that's why he fought so hard pre-Calamity. Of course, he still fought because it was his duty, but I also like to imagine he was trying his best to protect his sister before it could ever hit her. Even if it was a fruitless endeavor.
・❥・Two) When Sage remembers this fact, it's probably before Tears of the Kingdom. The bridge between TotK and BotW probably is Link/Sage unravelling a lot of the trauma he tried to ignore regarding the royal family. So this is almost a catharsis to the entire feat. Moreso with Zelda/Natura's reaction.
・❥・She'd be flippant and almost ignorant to the entire ordeal.
・❥・Before anyone comes for my throat, let me explain Natura's character okay?
・❥・So, as far as I'm concerned, Natura hasn't learned anything. She's very much still the same character she was in AoC which is a spoiled individual with little regards to the woes others are facing. She had a tough time, yes I understand that and she was young, but she had no reason to act the way she did with Link. I don't care, argue with the wall.
・❥・She went digging around in the remains of what was left of her people post BotW trying to figure out how the guardians worked. She puts more emphasis on her studies and research rather than her people. Remember this is Natura. Not Zelda. This is my characterization in the same way that Sage is my characterization of Link.
・❥・Anyway, she didn't go looking for a way to solve the Gloom issue, she went looking for a way to capitalize on it. Like the pharmaceutical industry.
・❥・So you can imagine her reaction knowing that.
・❥・"We kept her off the streets like a worthless rat. You should be thanking me."
・❥・Yeah, it's not great.
・❥・So then TotK happens, yadda yada.
・❥・Sage loves animals. Let me get this straight. He's not heartless, he's angry and he's vengeful. Animals never wronged him. He finds comfort with animals as they can't lie to him. He can earn their trust and they'll remain loyal.
・❥・Because Sage is a dangerously loyal man. He still carries the loyalty of the hero's spirit, but it's amplified. Once you're his, you're his forever. Nothing can drag him away from you as he won't let it.
・❥・He's so loyal it turns from a positive attribute to a flaw. :)
・❥・He's possessive and protective and doesn't see an issue with it. Everything else has been torn from his hands but his fingers will be broken and bloody before he lets what's his go.
・❥・I bring up the animal thing just to say Sage gets a dog. You know that stable that closes down in the desert? And how all the stables have stable dogs? Well, this one follows Sage all over Hyrule. And if he goes in the depths thinking he's lost it, the second he's out the dog is sniffing his ass out.
・❥・Yes, he keeps the dog and feeds it the nicest cuts of meat, don't worry.
・❥・It's name is Droolius Caesar.
・❥・Timeline wise, let's talk about that.
・❥・So again, Bailey, and they're gorgeous fucking brain, brought up the idea of him being on a different timeline then Wild. I ran with it.
・❥・I don't see TotK falling on the timeline nicely no matter what we do. Not with the Zonai and not with the other game.
・❥・So what if it doesn't fall on the same timeline as BotW? The same events happen but now it's different.
・❥・Here's how it goes:
・❥・So when Time splits the timeline we get the normal one where, yay! he saves the day! and the other one where he doesn't. Call it the downfall timeline, the fallen timeline, the failure timeline, I don't care. For the sake of argument it's the Fallen Timeline here.
・❥・So there's an idea that the timelines merge somewhere between Wars timeline and Wild's. But let's say they don't. Because the Fallen timeline goes to Legend, then Hyrule. Then what if it doesn't fix itself and just continues. which is where it then leads to Sage's era.
・❥・Only this timeline is on hard mode at all times. Legend's adventures were difficult, Hyrule's era is absolutely brutal, so it makes sense that Sage's is just as hard.
・❥・We toyed with the idea that because this timeline is so hard, the heroes that reign from it are just that much more advanced. It's shown through Legend and then Hyrule, both of whom have wielded the full triforce at one point or another (I think). Somewhere between Hyrule's world however and Legend's, the goddess' didn't like this idea. They didn't like the idea of the hero having this sense of power, so they stripped it away entirely. They knew that somewhere the hero's spirit would be tainted and took away the power that could be used to dethrone them before it could manifest with Sage.
・❥・In turn, the hero's spirit carried on and grew stronger to overcome this. Sage still has the hero's spirit, but it's not like an actual spirit. No, it's more like the fallen hero carrying on and trying to amend for his sins.
・❥・Which Sage hates. He hates it so much, but it propels him before he can stop it. In the beginning of TotK? It's what propels him to jump in after Zelda. After however? The gloom is what finally kills that spirit. Rauru can save him, but fails to save the spirit.
・❥・And from there Sage evolves and arises into the rat we all know and love.
・❥・All of this to give my own lil headcanons on Epona.
・❥・So there's a theory that Malanya (Horse god) Is actually Malon and I like that. (Because she gave Link Epona OG and they sound similar) So in Sage's Era? Guess what?
・❥・Anyway, I imagine Malanya and Sage had a better connection because of this. Malanya goes out of their way to care for Sage and his horse because they feel they failed their Link.
・❥・So Sage gets an Epona in a way to apologize for their first failure.
・❥・Epona is a very good horse <3
・❥・So in the wise words of bailey to end this off,
The hero's spirit is dead. Long live whatever the fuck Sage is.
