pairing: Loki Laufeyson x villain!fem!reader warnings: sarcasm, weapons cuz you can't have loki without daggers, both loki and reader being low-key i'm so sorry obsessed with the tesseract... and with each other... and themselves (they have issues, we get it) summary: loki finally gets the chance to steal the tesseract... only to realise it's already been stolen by you a/n: considering my last fic kinda felt like a total disaster, this is my amends. Honestly, I had a little too much fun with it, so I hope you enjoy it wc: 0.9k

After having to wait for what felt like an eternity, fate had finally begun to be kind to Loki. He had managed to dismantle the guards outside of the artefact room, who were currently knocked out on the floor.
Carefully, he snuck into the room and looked around until his gaze fell on the one artefact he had been yearning for ever since he first laid eyes on it; the tesseract.
It was placed on a pedestal at the end of the long hall, glowing with its eerie blue light, casting shadows around it. Loki approached it, and after looking at the cube for a moment, he picked it up.
When no alarm seemed to go off or boobytraps were activated, he smiled. It felt too good to be true... and he realised it was when he saw a small sliver of paper lying on the pedestal that had been covered by the artefact.
As he inspected it, his eyes widened in shock, causing him to drop the tesseract, which shattered upon impact. In delicate handwriting, the paper said:
Sorry, darling Guess I got here first Better luck next time With love, the better villain
Loki crumpled up the piece of paper and tossed it away, looking at the shattered glass now scattered on the floor. It turned out that the tesseract had been replaced by a fake cube, enchanted with a glamour spell to disguise it in plain sight.
He knew exactly who had been bold enough to take what was supposed to be his, and he knew where to find her.
"Heimdall, I need to use the Bifröst," He said as he stormed towards him.
"And where to?" Heimdall asked.
"Vanaheim," Loki answered, "I need to retrieve what is mine."

You were sitting on your throne when the massive wooden doors to the hall opened. Unable to supress a smirk from forming on your lips, you softly chuckle when you see Loki burst in.
"Ah, there you are," You say, mercilessly teasing him, "I was wondering when you'd show up."
"Give it back," Loki scowls, shooting you a glare that would've ended your life if looks could kill.
"Well, it's great to see you, too, doll," You mock, your grin growing wider. "Anyway, I have to say I'm a little surprised you kept me waiting this long. I mean, I've had the tesseract for like a month now. Don't tell me you've lost your ability to steal things, have you?"
A low chuckle comes out of his mouth as Loki shakes his head. "Oh, you are treading on thin ice," He says as he holds out his hand. "Come on, give it back. We both know it's no use to you."
"Yeah no, I think I'm going to hold onto it for just a little longer," You respond, standing up from your throne. "Well, if you could let yourself out, I've got some Vanirs to pester."
Just as you're about to walk past him, he takes hold of your wrist. In a split-second, you draw your dagger and push him up against the nearest wall, keeping your blade flush against his throat.
"I'm only going to tell you this once, Laufeyson, so listen carefully," You say as you look him dead in the eyes, "Touch me again and you'll lose your hand. Got it?"
"No need to get so riled up over nothing, darling," Loki quips, his signature smirk forming on his lips. "Can't we just talk this out like the responsible people we are?"
"You know, you have been called a lot of names, but responsible isn't one of them," You quip back, "I would know, I invented most of them."
"Sounds a little obsessive if you ask me," Loki retorts, "Almost as if you like thinking about me."
A dry chuckle comes out of your throat. "Oh please, don't flatter yourself, not everything is about you," You say, "The only thoughts about you I like are the ones where I beat you. Like with the tesseract, right now. That, I thoroughly enjoy."
"Alright, alright, you're just as egocentric as I am, I get it," Loki says. "Now, if you could be a dear for once and remove your dagger, I'll leave you be."
"Only for you to transform into a snake and slither right back in, yeah right. Face it, Loki; I know you too well."
He raises an eyebrow as his free hand carefully takes hers off his throat. "You know, sometimes you really are the bane of my existence," He says, his eyes locked on yours.
For a moment, it seems as if time has stopped. You don't know how or why, but for some godforsaken reason, it's as if his gaze has a magnetic pull on yours. In your mind, you fight against it. It's just one of his elaborate mind tricks, right?
The way he holds your hand as he takes it off his throat is just to ensure his own safety, that odd spark it sends up your arm is simply a diversion...
"Alright, you can stop your tricks now," You say reluctantly. "I'm not giving up the tesseract that easily."
"Right, the tesseract," Loki says, his voice a little deeper and softer than usual. "That can wait for a little longer..."
Despite your best efforts to resist, that god-awful charm of his manages to pull you closer until you find your lips pressed up against his. Your dagger clatters onto the stone floor, quickly forgotten when his kiss becomes more passionate.
After some time, you both break away for air. Both your lips are slightly puffed, cheeks stained a little red.
"So, about the tesseract," Loki says, a little hoarse.
"Keep dreaming," You say before you pull him back in.

PART 2 TO “A GOD’S KARMA”
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Asgardian divorces were incredibly rare. Yours was, perhaps, the first one in many millennia. And, even if there were other divorces before yours, yours was the one of the first among the royal court. Of course, no one was surprised when you requested the divorce following Loki’s return to Asgard. Some were surprised, though, that you did so in the middle of Loki’s trial and more so that Loki offered no arguments in his defense. All he could do was give you a forlorn stare, one that you would not meet, as he conceded that you could have anything you wanted, divorce included. He never saw you again after he was dragged back to your cell.
You didn’t remain on Asgard for long after that. You couldn’t stand the looks of pity cast your way, the whispers people thought you couldn’t hear. Poor Y/N, they said, did you hear that her husband faked his death? That he tried to take over Midgard? I heard that he thought waging a war was the only way to win her heart. I’d believe it. She was always a cold-hearted bitch.
Though you had never been a stranger to rumors, something about this one hurt too much. Perhaps it was Loki’s betrayal. You had never stopped loving him. When you thought him dead, you mourned every single day until Thor came to you in secret, saying that Loki was found on Midgard, controlling people with a weapon he had never seen before, hoping to rule over the planet. Thor wasn’t supposed to tell you—Odin feared your emotions may cloud your judgment, and you joining Loki’s side was not something anyone wished for. So you pretended you didn’t know until Heimdall told you Loki had been captured by a newly formed group of humans with superpowers, along with Thor, called the Avengers.
You hadn’t meant to blow your top when you arrived on Midgard, but seeing Loki again…Knowing he was alive, knowing he had done nothing to contact you, knowing that he was pursuing a throne over his wife…Well, it was understandable that you were upset. Loki had made his choice, and now he had to deal with your wrath. By the time you returned to Asgard with him, you had made your choice. You could no longer spend the rest of your long life shackled to a man, a god, a would-be king, who cared so little for you.
When you left Asgard, there was no other place that you considered going to. It was easy for you to understand why Thor loved Midgard. The world was charming, even amongst its flaws. Its people were passionate, driven. Wanted to protect what they had. It was admirable. And you wanted to be a part of that.
So you traveled down to that tower Loki and the Avengers had been at, scaring the one called Tony. But when you explained why you were there, you were welcomed with open arms. You were granted a spot in the Avengers, and you helped them in their pursuit of stopping the big bads on Midgard.
You didn’t hear from Loki for a long time. Not that you really expected him to reach out. If he couldn’t be bothered to contact you while you thought him dead, why would he go the extra mile when he was alive and nothing better to do than to rot in a cell? And for many months, you heard nothing. Until, you did.
Thor brought you a letter, telling you that Loki had died. That Loki wanted you to have it, to read what was inside. That Loki had died a selfless death, so that the life of another, of a Midgardian, could be saved. It was admirable, but it didn’t mean much to you. He may have made right with the world in his death, but the bitter part of you wondered how true that was, wondered if that really cleansed him of all his sins.
You properly moved on from him after. Before, you still wondered if you had made the right decision in divorcing him. If you should have.heard him out. But now…Now you didn’t have to wonder what could have been. The past was now the past. There was nothing left to be done.
A short while later, you finally acted on your desires. For a long time, you had been watching the blond super soldier. He was a good man. He was a great man, even. He had a lot of catching up to do with the modern world, so he offered to help you adjust to the new world. It was easy to love Steve Rogers. He embodied everything a good man should have. He was sweet, he was kind. He cared about things greater than himself. And he cared about you. He made that abundantly clear. Though he was initially awkward, as the two of you grew closer, he made it perfectly clear that he liked you, a lot. And you liked him, too, but you still held a flame for Loki.
Until Loki died, and you realized that you were letting your former husband hold you back. So, you stopped letting the thought of him control you and you asked Steve on a thing Midgardians called a “date”. It was perfect, something straight out of a fairytale.
Of course, things weren’t always easy. The Avengers broke up because of the Sokovia Accords, the governments of the world’s attempt to control the heroes, and because Steve wanted to help his friend Bucky. You followed him, leaving the Avengers and becoming a fugitive. You knew a good fight when you saw one. Bucky was a good man, and he deserved a second chance at life. Then came Thanos, and the snap that killed half the universe.
In its aftermath, you learned from Thor that Loki hadn’t been dead as they all once thought. Instead, he had posed as Odin and ruled Asgard. But then Asgard was destroyed and, as the Asgardians sought a new home in the galaxy, Loki was killed by Thanos. He died a hero.
And for the first time in a long time, you felt horrible about everything that happened.
“It’s not your fault,” Steve whispered, holding you in his arms. “You couldn’t have known.”
“I know. But Loki…I should have thought harder about it all. He’d faked his death before. Why was I so quick to believe that he hadn’t done it again?” A tear slipped down your cheek, and you were quick to wipe it away. “The last memory he had of me was telling Odin I wanted a divorce. He died thinking I didn’t love him anymore.”
Steve pressed a kiss to the top of your head. “I’m sure that’s not true. Loki had a way of knowing more than he let on. I’m sure he knew you still cared about him.”
“Maybe. But now I’ll never know.”
Steve was silent for a moment, before letting out a sigh. “I don’t say this to make you feel worse, but…Would it help to read that letter he wrote you years ago? I know you never wanted to read it, but…Things have changed.”
“Could you read it to me?” When he nodded, you said, “It’s in my desk. Top drawer on the right. It should be the only thing in the drawer.”
Steve disappeared from your side, and you soon heard him rustling through your desk. Then you heard the rip of an envelope being opened, before he sat back down next to you on the bed. “My dove,” he read, “I know that this letter does not come to you under preferred circumstances. I know I am probably the last person you wish to speak to, but I also know that I must tell you the truth. I must take full responsibility for my actions. Yet, not all of my actions were my own. When I fell from the Bifrost, I was found by the Mad Titan, Thanos.
“He offered me a chance at a throne. If I could get him the Tesseract on Midgard, then I could rule that rule. He had presented me with the scepter you saw when you came to Midgard. In it was a gem that could be used to control a person’s mind. Unbeknownst to me, that same scepter began to influence my own thoughts. It amplified my feelings of worthlessness, it amplified my hatred. I never would have accepted the offer had it not been for the scepter. But that is the past. I cannot change what has been done. Instead, I can only apologize for the harm I have caused you. For many years, even now, you were the only joy in my life. I never wanted to hurt you. In fact, you were one of the few I wished to never hurt. I could apologize every day for the rest of my life, and I know that it would never make up for what I have done to you. That is why I let you go, why I didn’t fight your wish for a divorce.
“After everything I have done, I at least owed you a chance to find happiness elsewhere. Frigga has told me that you have gone to Midgard. I do not know if it’s your intention, but if you want to see the super soldier…As much as it pains me, I want you to know it’s okay. Do not feel guilty for it. I only want for you to have everything you could want in all the realms. And if I am not a part of that happiness, it is only what I deserve. I wish you all the best. Sincerely, Loki.”
You choked out a sob, burying your face in your hands. “I thought so ill of him for so long,” you cried, “and after all this time…”
“You couldn’t have known,” Steve said, setting the letter aside, wrapping you in his arms. “I know it hurts, but you can’t blame yourself.”
“I never even asked for his side of the story…”
“What it have made a difference? He was a trickster. How could you have known if he was telling the truth?”
You sniffled. “I suppose you’re right. But it still hurts.”
“And I will do anything to lessen that pain, in anyway I can,” Steve said.
“Then can we have a funeral for him? I…I want to do something for him. He deserves it,” you whispered.
“Anything you want,” Steve repeated.
And thought it didn’t do much to ease the pain, at least it helped lessen the guilt you felt for how you left things.

Chapter 14: Imitation Games
You met with Heimdall in one of the taverns near the palace.
“You were not at Odin’s war council” Thor says as Heimdall walked over.
“The Bifrost is closed by your father’s orders” Heimdall sighs removing his helmet “no one is to come or to go”
“We face an enemy that is invisible even to me, what use is a guardian like that?” He continues as he sits down at the table.
“Malekith will return you know this” Thor says shaking his head slightly.
“We need your help” you tell Heimdall quietly.
“I cannot overrule my king’s wishes, not even for you two” Heimdall warns.
“We’re not asking you to, the realms need their Allfather strong and unchallenged whether his is or not. But he is blinded Heimdall by hatred and by grief” Thor explains.
“As are we all” Heimdall says gently looking between you and Thor.
“I see clearly enough” Thor responds.
Heimdall glances over at you and you subtly nod your head in agreement.
“The risks are too great” Heimdall sighs.
“Everything we do from here on is a risk, there is no other way” you tell him.
Heimdall looks down with a deep sigh before looking up at the two of you “what do you require from me?” He asks.
“I’ll explain later, first we need more help” Thor says standing up from his seat.
The three of you walk through asgard finding a small room to meet Lady Sif, Fandral and Volstagg.
“What I’m about to ask of you is treason of the highest order” Thor says as everyone sits down at the table.
“Success will bring us exile, and failure shall mean our death. Malekith knew the Aether was here, he can sense its power. If we do nothing he will come for it again but this time lay waste to all of asgard” Thor explains.
“We must move Jane off world” you conclude.
“The Bifrost has been shut down and the Tesseract locked away in the vault” Sif says shaking her head.
“There are other paths off asgard ways only known to a few” Heimdall tells them.
“One, actually” you say glancing around at everyone.
They all quickly come to the realisation as to who you meant. Fandral shaking his head, Volstagg clearly voicing his objections.
“There is no other way, he’s left asgard before without the aid of the Bifrost and the Tesseract. He too of grieving the loss of our queen, our mother” you explain.
“How will you know he won’t betray you” Fandral asks.
“We don’t, but we’ll expect it” Thor answers.
“Well, what then? Your lovely mortal is being guarded by a legion of Einherjar who will see you coming from miles away” Fandral asks leaning back in his chair.
“I won’t be the one who comes for her” Thor says glancing over at Sif.
“And what of the Allfather?” Sif asks raising a brow at the two of you.
“It is my sworn duty to notify him of crimes against the throne” Heimdall explains.
“Heimdall will call our father to him, that shall give us enough time to free Loki and jane” you explain.
“Assuming you can get Loki’s help, and you can free this mortal. What good will it do you?” Volstagg asks shaking his head.
“We’ll all be dead the minute we step one foot outside the palace” he continues.
“That my friend is why we won’t be leaving by foot, the ship the dark elves crashed shall be our escape” Thor explains.
“Do you even know how to fly it?” Sif asks.
“How hard can it be?” Thor smirks.
Tumblr media
The plan was set in motion, you and Thor making your way the dungeons to go free Loki.
“Thor after all this time, and now you come to visit me” Loki says, the illusion from before back in place.
“Why? Have you come to gloat? To mock?” Loki sneers.
“Loki enough, drop the illusion” you say gently.
Once again the illusion fades and you see Loki like you had before. Thor glances over at you as you walk round the corner of the cell.
“Now you see me brother” Loki sighs.
You see him clear his throat before looking at you “did she suffer?” He asks.
You shake your head gently in answer seeing the glimmer of relief in his eyes.
“I did not come here to share our grief, instead I offer you the chance of a far richer sacrament” Thor tells him.
“Go on” Loki says with a minute smirk.
“I know you seek vengeance as much as I do, you help us escape Asgard and I will grant it to you. Vengeance and afterward this cell” Thor offers making it clear this deal didn’t include permanent freedom.
Loki chuckle shaking his head slightly “you must be truly desperate to come to me for help” he chuckles.
“What makes you think you can trust me?” Loki asks.
“We don’t, but mother did” Thor says.
Loki glances over at you, because deep down you still had that shread of trust in him.
“But you should know that when we fought each other in the past, I did so with a glimmer of hope that my brother was still in there somewhere. That hope no longer exists to protect you. You betray us and I will kill you” Thor warns.
“Hmm, when do we start?” Loki asks.
“Right now” you say as the cell opens.
As Loki steps out his clothes change out of the grey rags he was wearing into his familiar, green and black leather robes.
“Lead the way” he says with a wave of his arm.
You and Thor lead him out of the dungeons back towards the throne room.
“This is so unlike you brother. So clandestine” Loki says cheerfully as you walk down the corridor.
“Are you sure you wouldn’t rather just punch your way out?” Loki asks.
“If you keep speaking I just might” Thor warns.
“Fine as you wish, I’m not even here” Loki says transforming himself into a guard “is this better?” He asks.
“It’s better company at least” you mutter.
“Still we could be less conspicuous” Loki says he says changing back into himself.
When you glance down at yourself you realised he’d changed you into Fandral, and Thor into Sif. You groan in disgust at your changed form.
“Mmm brother you look ravishing” Loki smirks.
“It will hurt no less when I kill you in this form” Thor warns.
“Very well, perhaps you prefer one of your new companions given that you seem to like them so much” Loki says glancing at you making you narrow your eyes at him.
Suddenly you’re changed back into yourself but Loki had taken on the appearance of Steve. Shield, suit and everything.
“Oh this is much better” Loki says, he even managed to mimic Steve’s voice.
“Loki” you warn not enjoying this game he was playing but he just smirks over at you.
“Ooh the costumes a bit much, so tight. But the confidence, I can feel the righteousness surging” Loki continues.
“Loki stop this game” you say in a low growl.
“Hey do you want to have a rousing discussion about truth? Honor? Patriotism?” Loki says walking a head so he could spin around to face you.
“Loki I swear to god-“ you warn him.
“What’s the matter doll?” Loki smirks.
With that you lost it slamming Loki into a nearby pillar. Grateful when he returned to his normal form, despite the shit eating smirk he had on his face.
“Quiet the pair of you” Thor warns nodding to the guards who were passing by.
“You could at least furnish me with a weapon, my dagger, something” Loki asks looking over your shoulder at Thor.
Thor glances over at you and you nod your head. Loki smiles to himself and Thor pulls the metal object out. His smile soon fades when he realises that it wasn’t his dagger, but in fact was some Asgardian handcuffs.
“And I thought you liked tricks” you smirk when Loki glares over at you.
The three of you then meet Lady Sif and Jane in the corridor. Jane looking over at Loki is shock.
“You’re...” she starts pointing at him.
“I’m Loki, you may have heard of me” Loki says getting interrupted when she slaps him hard across the face.
“That was for New York” she spits glaring up at him.
Loki chuckles looking over at Thor “I like her, much more than cap” Loki says.
Thor looks down at you with a raised brow “we’re just friends” you tell him quickly.
As you do more guards start running in “I’ll hold them off, you take her” Sif says pulling out her sword.
“Thank you” Thor says leading Jane away.
You and Loki go to follow but Sif hold her sword by Loki’s throat stopping him.
“Betray them, and I’ll kill you” she warns.
Loki chuckles turning to face her “it’s good to see you too Sif” he chuckle as she moves her sword to the side letting the two of you go.
Volstagg meets you in the throne room by the elves’ ship.
“I will give you as much time as I can” he tells you.
“Thank you my friend” Thor says shaking his hand and leading Jane onto the ship.
Once again Loki is stopped, Volstagg grabbing his chest “if you even think of betraying them” he warns.
“You’ll kill me? Evidently they’ll be a line” Loki says raising his brow.
“Add me to that line” you say as you push him towards the ship.
As you board the ship you see Thor pressing at different buttons trying to get it to power on.
“I thought you knew how to fly this thing” you say walking over.
“I said how hard can it be” Thor says pressing at more different buttons.
“Well whatever you’re doing brother I suggest you do it faster” Loki suggests.
“Shut up Loki” Thor says starting to get agitated.
“You must have missed something” Loki says as you start starting to look over the controls.
“No I didn’t I’m pressing every button on this thing” Thor says hitting the buttons harder.
“Thor don’t hit it, just press it gently” you say pushing past Loki.
“I am pressing it gently and it’s not working!” Thor exclaims, reminding you of yourself when you were trying to wrap your head around technology.
“Look Thor here” you say pressing the button making the ship power up.
“Take the wheel” you say turning to Thor and stepping back, gesturing for him to go ahead.
The ship begins to take off, as it turns it takes out a few of the columns in the throne room making you wince.
“I think you missed a column” Loki comments.
“Shut up” Thor groans.
Thor manages to manoeuvre the ship out of the throne room and the palace. Albeit a little manically.
“Look why don’t you let me take over?” Loki suggests “I’m clearly the better pilot” he says.
“Is that right? Well out if the three of us, who’s the one who can’t fly” Thor says glancing over at Loki.
“Well at least let Y/N fly then” Loki retorts.
You start getting shot at meaning Thor has to perform evasive manoeuvres. Once of which made Jane faint.
“Oh dear is she dead?” Loki asks looking down at Jane.
“I’ve got her” you say crouching down beside her to make sure she was okay.
“I’m okay” she mutter weakly holding a hand up.
As Thor continues to fly he destroys another structure glancing over at Loki “not a word” he warns, Loki holding his hands up.
“Now they’re following us” Loki comments closely followed by “now they’re firing at us”
“Yeah thank you for the commentary Loki it’s not at all distracting” Thor grumbles.
As you fly into a tunnel Thor hit the statue of your grandfather as he goes, decapitating the statue.
“Well done, you just decapitated your grandfather” Loki states.
“You know this is wonderful, this is a tremendous idea. Lets steal the biggest most obvious ship in the universe and escape in that, flying around the city, smashing into everything in sight so everyone can see us. It’s brilliant Thor truly brilliant!” Loki exclaims.
“Thor may I?” You ask standing up.
“Gladly” Thor says.
You quickly turn kicked Loki straight in the chest sending him flying out of the side of the ship. Hearing him scream on the way down.
“See you in a second” you say to Thor before jumping out.
You land in Fandral’s ship, Thor landing with jane shortly afterwards. Fandral laughs at Loki who was sprawled on the floor of the ship.
“I see your time in the dungeons has made you no less graceful Loki” Fandral chuckles.
“You lied to me” Loki says as he gets up “I’m impressed”
“I’m glad you’re pleased now do as you promised and take us to your secret pathway” Thor demands.
Loki smirks before moving to control the ship. The guards chasing you however soon catch on and start firing at you.
“Fandral” Thor says turning to face him.
“Right, for Asgard” Fandral says grabbing the rope and jumping from your ship to the guards one.
Loki turns the ship and starts flying you to the pathway. Which evidently enough looked like a tiny crack in the cliff face.
“Loki...” you say suddenly feeling uncertain.
“If it were easy, everyone would do it” Loki says with a casual shrug of his shoulders.
“Are you mad?” You exclaim as you and Thor start to duck for cover.
“Quite possibly” Loki states a grin appearing on his face.
As you fly through the crack the ship hits against the cavern walls but soon enough the portal began to work and you were transported.

The prince of lies (Loki x reader)
Soulmate AU: Every time your soulmate lies, their words are permanently written on your skin
Word count: 3140 Words
I think this is the last Soulmate one that I have on Wattpad as of right now
Father is dead. Your banishment... The threat of a new war...it was too much for him to bear. You mustn't blame yourself. I know that you loved him. I tried to tell him so, but he wouldn't listen.
The truce with Jotunheim is conditional  upon your exile
Mother has forbidden your return
This is goodbye brother, I'm so sorry
Perhaps your senses have weakened after your many years of service
I'M NOT YOUR BROTHER I NEVER WAS!
I don't know what happened on earth to make you so soft! Don't tell me it was that woman?... Oh, it was. Well, when we're done here, maybe I'll pay her a visit myself!
You're not
(etc. more lies)
Lies...
Every single one of them. How did you know? Well, because they were printed all over your body.
Every single lie your soulmate ever told up until now graced your (s/c) skin.
How was a liar like that supposed to be a soulmate for you? Someone you could trust?
Yes, your so called soulmate would never be able to lie to you, for as soon as he tried the lie would appear on your skin. Had they only been some minor white lies, that would've probably been fine by you, but looking at the severity of those lies you could only shake your head in disbelief and sorrow for whoever had received those news.
Now ignoring the fact that those statements were lies, there were other aspects that made absolutely no sense. Those you had already researched quite a bit . Jotunheim for a start was a mythical place and the lies stated that apparently the liar and his brother were not from earth, which was complete nonsense was it not? Otherwise he had to be some kind of alien.
You were interrupted in the middle of your thought-process.
I missed you too
A new lie, gracing your forearm. Though this one seemed rather small and harmless, this man was still lying through his teeth and you had to carry every single one of those lies. How often had you been asked why your body was full of lies. Yet you never had an answer to those questions. He was your soulmate, even if he was a liar he had to be good somewhere, right?
Aliens and beings from other worlds did exist though. Thor the god of thunder and the events of New York city. Did they have soulmates as well? They had to, otherwise the statements on your features made even less sense.
But who?
Who would lie so much?
The thoughts in your head kept floating around as you got ready to meet up with your friend Anthony.
You started walking to a nearby park. Your usual meeting point, as you felt yet another familiar tingle. Pushing it to the back of your head in hopes of ignoring it, you kept walking towards your friend and hugged him "It's good to see you" you smiled but only got a confused stare in return "What?" "You uh...got a new one there, a long one." A sigh escaped your lips at the reply of Anthony. "Well, where? And does it at least make sense?" Your friend just shook his head as he took a picture of the lettering on your collarbone "No, but here. Maybe you can understand some of this. It looks like sarcasm this time." He gave you his phone to look at the picture. Great another one.
Wait? Sarcasm? One thing you had to give your soulmate credit for were his snarky remarks, at least those sometimes put a smile on your face. You zoomed in on your collarbone as you read what was engraved on the previously clear space of (s/c) skin.
You know this is wonderful! This a tremendous idea! Let's steal the biggest most obvious ship in the universe and escape in that! Flying around the city, smash it into everything in sight and everyone will see it! It's brilliant Thor! It's truly brilliant...
Thor?! You could not believe your eyes. Whoever your soulmate was knew Thor. It was a shock and a relief as well. If he was friends with this god he couldn't be so bad, could he? You did however, question why Thor would spend time, let alone steal some kind of spaceship with this person.
"I see. I can't say I understand what it's about, but whoever this liar of mine is, seems to be friends with Thor..." The words left your mouth as you handed the phone back to your dear friend. The two of you sat down on a wooden bench underneath a tree, but when you heard Anthony speak up, your mind went blank "He could also be Thor's brother, doesn't that one lie a lot?" It took you a few moments to fully comprehend what he meant "No, that'd be impossible, that man is sitting behind bars for the rest of his life. Besides, that guy is evil. My soulmate could never possibly be a bad person." that last part was a lie. Your soulmate was a liar, he could easily be a bad person, you just hoped with all your might that he wasn't"
■ ■ ■
"Trust my rage" the god of mischief spoke. Just as he had finished his sentence he felt a tingle on his wrist. A rare occasion if it was a real lie, usually it was just a sarcastic comment which most of the time he enjoyed quite a bit. These sarcastic statements often caused a small smile to appear on his face, the few nice moments that made the time in his cell more bearable, not only did he find them funny and witty, they also stood for his soulmate, for someone that was destined for him and also that he was a perfect fit for whoever this soulmate was. He looked at his bare wrist expectantly, waiting for one of the snarky remarks that his soulmate had spoken to appear. When it did appear though, it broke his heart. His cold expression fell for a second as he looked at the writing on his wrist. Quickly regaining his cold exterior before anyone would notice. It was too late though. His brother had seen the trickster's face falter just in time and he had also seen what Loki was staring at. Before the raven-haired could pull his hand back he felt it had already been grabbed "Let go of me Thor!"
"Brother, just let me see!" Thor replied loudly, he wanted to know what this was about. Loki looked away in shame as he let his brother read what his soulmate had said. My soulmate could never possibly be a bad person. As he finished reading he loosened his grip on the other's hand, allowing Loki to finally pull his hand back "I'm sorry" he muttered. "They think I'm a monster too..." The black haired god whispered as he sat down in the small ship, his stone cold exterior dropping by the second. Was a soulmate not meant to understand? Was there really no hope for him?
"Loki..."
"Stop it. Don't pity me for something that's my own fault!" he screamed. He just needed a moment to calm down.
■ ■ ■
"How is this possible? How do I deal with this? I can't just ignore it can I? No" before you knew it you found yourself in front of a massive building. Stark tower. Your (e/c) eyes stared at the monument in awe, but you soon shook your head in order to resume your task. "Enter the tower and talk to the avengers on how to communicate with Thor. You have to do this because Thor knows your soulmate..." you repeated in your head as you entered the building...
...or so you thought.
In the blink of an eye you were consumed by light and gone from where you stood. Was that some kind of security system Stark invented?
Your eyes fluttered open just to see some old man on a throne before your sight went black and your body dropped to the ground unconscious.
■ ■ ■
"Are you certain Heimdall?" the king asked, looking at the unconscious human, who was now dressed to fit the Asgardian culture. He was inspecting some of the tattoos on their body "You were right they definitely are his soulmate. Though they seem to be a rather honest person, for Loki does not have as many markings on him. As far as I know at least"
What were they talking about? Who were these people, why did they speak of you in a connection to Loki, it made no sense. None at all. You tried to look like you were still passed out.
But apparently you failed in your acting. "The human is awake" a different voice spoke. Maybe it belonged to this Heimdall person.
A sigh of defeat left your lips as you opened your eyes. You tried to take in your surroundings when suddenly, your eyes went wide from the sensation on your skin.
You sighed as you waited for the writing to appear on one of your upper arms. "Oh boy this is a long one" You muttered underneath your breath, but it seems Odin had heard, for he raised an eyebrow as his eyes followed your gaze to your arm which you had uncovered from the strange clothing you were dressed in. The king had taken a hold of your arm to read your words.
You really think I cared about Frigga? About any of you? All I ever wanted was you and Odin dead at my feet! Malekith! I am Loki of Jotunheim and I bring you a gift! I ask only one thing in return, a good seat from which to watch Asgard burn.
"Fools!" Odin shouted.
Meanwhile you thought your eyes were about to pop out of their sockets as you tried to comprehend the meaning behind those words. The only thing you could focus on however, was the name etched in your skin. His name. Loki.
Your thoughts were interrupted when the Allfather spoke up again "Send guards to Svartálfheimr and retrieve my sons! Bring the Aether back if it's still there!"
His sons?
It was at that moment. Realisation hit you like a bus. You were in Asgard and this man before you had to be Odin then. Your brows furrowed. Why were you here? How did you get here?
"Come. You must have many questions." The king said as you got up and followed him "I am Odin of Asgard. Tell me child what is your name?" "M-my name is (Y/n) (L/n). How-how did I get here?" you stuttered as you looked around still walking. "I gave orders to bring you here" He replied casually.
■ ■ ■
The Jotun prince laid on the ground panting as his brother cradled him in his strong arms "No. No, no, no. Oh, you fool, you didn't listen." "I know." Loki spoke, his voice quiet and weak "I'm a fool. I'm a fool." he gasped in pain. "Stay with me, okay?" The god of thunder spoke close to tears as he pat the other's face to keep him conscious. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry" the young god apologized gasping for air but he was quickly shushed by his brother "shhh...it's okay" Thor nodded as tears welled up in his blue eyes. "It's all right. I'll tell father what you did here today" He spoke again the tears now making their way down his cheeks. "I didn't do it for him" The raven haired spoke calmly. As he took his dying breath he spoke his last words "Tell them, I didn't want to be a monster" Just like that the god closed his eyes and went limp in his brother's arms. "NOOO!" Thor shouted in pain and hugged Loki. "I will find them and tell them in your stead brother" He whispered into the other's ear before he let go and left with Jane. Loki's limp body was left in the sand and dirt.
■ ■ ■
"I take it, you know who your soulmate is,  judging by your reaction. It must certainly be hard to carry all the lies of the god of mischief and lies" Odin raised his eyebrow. "I have heard quite a few stories about him indeed." You replied taking a sip of your tea. You were seated in the throne room across from Odin as he tried to answer some of your questions.
In the middle of your conversation a guard entered and as soon as he spoke up you felt a burning and tingling just underneath your chest.
"Forgive me my liege. I've returned from the Dark World with news. " The guard spoke.
"Thor?" Odin asked with hope. The guard dropped his head a bit at that "There was no sign of Thor or the weapon, but..." As soon as the man spoke up again the tingling began once again in the same place as before. "What?" the Allfather asked.
The tingles continued "We found a body."
Silence filled the air for a moment before Odin spoke "Loki"
The guard just looked at his king with sad eyes. The burning had stopped. "Thank you. Bring this one..." The old king pointed at you "...to Heimdall. Tell him to return them to Midgard. Then you may be dismissed for the day."
Your chin dropped as the guard nodded and turned to you. Oh now you were definitely not going to tell the god that Loki was alive and lying. He grabbed you roughly and brought you out of the throne room and to another room, the room you had woken up in. "Gather your belongings mortal before you return to Midgard." Midgard? Was that what they called earth. As the guard was about to close the door you shouted after him "Mister guard man! Wait!" He raised an eyebrow at you, seemingly amused, but he waited for you to speak nonetheless and so you did "Loki can't be dead." He stared at you confused "Well he is."
Another tingle. This time on your finger, but you ignored it for now seeing as you were focused on the conversation you were having "No. I don't think you understand. I-I know he is alive. I can feel it." A small smile was placed on your lips as the man before you began to laugh, he seemed curious though "And how would a little mortal like you know that? Oh you feel it, of course"
"I-I don't know how I know" That was a lie for you did know why and how "I just know." You finished, he seemed distracted though. While the guard was distracted you took a moment to look at the side of your pinkie finger. "No." You mumbled when you realized the man before you was your soulmate, disguised as a guard. "What?" The man asked. "Nothing" you lied, a small smile on your lips. You were scared yes, but he wouldn't hurt his own soulmate, now would he? "Would you please come in and close the door Loki?~" You asked innocently.
His eyes went wide, confused as to how a simple human like you could look through his disguise with such ease. So he complied. He didn't really have a choice now. As he closed the door, he dissolved his disguise. Green smoke surrounded the man as Loki the trickster god stood before you now. He was stunning. Yes there was a deep hatred for this man inside you, but he did something good today and you hadn't met him before. Well not personally, you had however seen him on TV as he tried to take over the world, you had heard he was under some kind of mind control though. "You are a curious little thing, aren't you?" Loki spoke as he approached you "Who are you and how did you know it was me mortal?"
You grinned "I'm no one important to you" Your smile widened as you noticed him being distracted again. You watched in awe as your statement appeared on the back of his hand.
The black haired god stared at you in disbelief "No...no no no no. How? That's not possible" Before you realized what was happening he was already too close for comfort. He grabbed one of your arms and shoved up your sleeves. Perhaps your senses have weakened after your many years of service. Disbelief filled Loki's eyes as they pierced your own gaze. He let go of your hand as some kind of hatred but also hope filled his eyes "You hate me. You think I'm a monster." He spoke with clenched teeth. He was trying to compose himself, to seem calm, but you easily looked through his disguise. "I do not" You replied, your (e/c) eyes were soft as you looked at him. He stood there, waiting for the tingling and burning somewhere on his pale body. But the feeling never came. You had been truthful. "I know better than to lie to my soulmate." The words escaped your throat before you could even think. "Why did you say it then?!" The god growled. "Said wha-" The mischievous man cut you off "My soulmate could never possibly be a bad person" he quoted your lie "what changed?"
"I-I" you were speechless "I said that, knowing that anyone could be my soulmate, I tried to convince myself to see things positively. I did not know it would affect you as it was about soulmates in general. I am sorry for causing you pain Loki"
"So you don't think I'm a bad person?" he asked, turning your words around "I do know of the bad things you did. You tried to take over my home. I cannot confirm that you are a completely bad person though. I-I don't know you well enough to judge. For I try to build my opinion when I get to know people myself, even if this person is the prince of lies. Besides, you can't be too bad if you are my soulmate, at least not towards me" You grinned, reaching out your hand for him to shake "I'm (Y/n) by the way."
Loki looked at your hand, a smirk on his lips as he held your hand in his and brought it up to his lips to press a small kiss against the back of it. His eyes never leaving yours as a blush took over your features "It is a pleasure to meet you (Y/n). My name is Loki and I do not think I'll send you off to Midgard just yet, if ever..." The last two words were not meant for you to hear but you did. "Before we get to know each other better my soulmate~" he smirked "I have to take care of my father and brother." He turned around and walked towards the door "You stay here for now" the man winked at you before he turned himself into the guard again and left the room.

Unexpected Guest, One Shot
Thank you for the prompt I hope you like it! I am always honoured that you trust me to write your beloved OC! toshisurtsdottir submitted: Toshi lives far away in the forest somewhere in Scotland. After Loki is defeated in Avengers, he uses his last bit of energy to teleport away and hide from Heimdal. He ends up unconscious in front of Toshis hut.
-
Toshi was minding her own business in her garden at home. She lived deep the forest, in the highlands. Where she finally had peace, away from everyone who could cause her harm.
She was tending to one of her rose bushes, watering them, they were in full bloom and she loved them.
But suddenly, a large being from above came shooting out from a portal in the sky and landed right on top of her rose bush.
She was stunned for a moment, then she took in what exactly had fallen. It was a man. He was wearing armour, a lot of leather and some metal. She frowned as she took him in, then she realised who exactly it was. She had seen enough paintings of the Gods during her childhood to know when she was looking at one.
It was Loki. Prince Loki, of Asgard.
At first, she was confused. Then she was furious. How dare he land not only in her garden, but on her roses!
He wasn’t awake, she wasn’t sure if he was dead or just passed out. So she tipped her watering can up and poured water over him. But that didn’t work, he didn’t move.
‘Maybe he is dead.’ She muttered to herself and crouched down to check his pulse. There was a pulse, so he must’ve just hit his head hard, she thought.
Thinking it wouldn’t be good to leave a God outside her home, she dragged him inside. She could’ve lifted him, she had the strength, but she didn’t want to. Why not let his clothes get dusty and dirty? Since he had ruined her roses.
She left him on the floor by her sofa and went back outside to try and salvage what she could of her rose bush. And to keep an eye outside to make sure no one was looking for him, she didn’t want him to draw attention to where she was living.
When she went back inside a little while later, Loki groaned as he sat up, looking confused as he looked around him. Then he locked eyes with Toshi and he eyed her suspiciously.
‘Where am I?’
‘You’re in my house. In Scotland. Midgard.’ Toshi drawled, folding her arms over her chest as she stared at him.
Loki narrowed his eyes at her. ‘Still on Midgard… Why are you here, you are not of this realm?’
‘I could ask you the same thing.’ Toshi said.
Loki went to move and he hissed. ‘Ow.’ He reached to the back of his neck and pulled out a small thorn. ‘What the…’
‘You landed in my rose bush.’ Toshi hissed.
Loki sat up more and wiped his face, realising he was wet. ‘Why am I wet?’
‘I will say it again. You landed in my rose bush.’ Toshi snarled.
Loki narrowed his eyes at her and slowly raised up to his feet. He made a slight movement with his head and had himself dry with his magic.
‘Why are you here?’ He asked and stalked over to her, then he started circling her, taking in her appearance.
‘More to the point, why are you here?’ Toshi asked and she leapt away from him, to get away from his scrutinising. She noticed him looking at her scars, especially.
‘I am… in need of a safe haven for a little while.’ Loki admitted.
Toshi raised an eyebrow at him. ‘Well, you can’t stay here. I don’t want any trouble and I certainly don’t want anyone to come looking for you here.’
Loki glared at her. ‘Do you know who you are talking to? I am Loki, God of As’
‘Yeah, yeah. I know. God of Asgard. Prince Loki. Yadda yadda.’ She mocked him with her hands and headed towards the door.
‘Where are you from?’ Loki queried, intrigued.
Toshi sighed and turned back to face him. ‘If you must know, I am from Muspelheim.’
Loki’s eyes widened in realisation and slight awe. ‘You’re a fire giant?’
Toshi sighed and nodded.
‘Wait… You’re Toshi? Surtr’s daughter? The one who ran away?’ He said, slightly excited that he was meeting her. He’d heard all about her.
‘How do you know of me?’ She asked cautiously.
Loki sat down on the edge of her sofa, ignoring the look on her face at the fact he was making himself at home. But his tone was softer. ‘When you ran away, I remember your father and your sister, Mirtria, coming to one of the celebrations on Asgard. I overheard Frigga speaking to your father and he was saying that you had ran away.’
Toshi nodded slowly and sat down on the sofa opposite him. ‘Let me guess, he put on a fake sad face and acted like I meant so much to him?’
‘No, actually.’ Loki paused a moment. ‘Quite the opposite. Frigga swiftly left to talk to someone else, she is not one for listening to a parent talk badly of their child. For some reason, I always wanted to meet you after hearing of you. I had a feeling that something wasn’t quite right, your sister was… uhm, a delight.’ He scoffed and pulled a face, making Toshi laugh a little. ‘I think Odin and your father was trying to get us together, I managed to pawn her off to Thor. Though even he, with his tiny brain, realised to stay away from her.’
‘Are you saying all this just so I let you hide out here?’ Toshi asked.
‘No, I’m not. I know what it’s like to be an outcast, to be born a runt. Small for a giant.’ Loki said honestly. ‘But being able to stay for a while would be a plus.’ He grinned charmingly.
-
Toshi had not wanted to let Loki stay, but she ended up unable to say no...
She found herself having to share a bed with the God of mischief. Since he refused to sleep on the sofa, claiming it was no use for a God. Toshi was not going to give up her bed for him, so they ended up sharing.
It kind of helped that they had a few drinks that evening. And it kind of helped that they had shared more of their lives with one another, finding they had quite a lot in common and sympathising with each other. The main one being overshadowed by their sibling.
What also kind of helped was the fact that they started kissing and feeling each other up on the sofa. Which then quickly progressed to the bedroom.
They both fought for dominance, Toshi tried to get on top of Loki but he growled at her and bit her neck, making her yield as he pinned her down underneath him with his strength and wrapped a hand around her throat, keeping her in place.
‘Good girl.’ He purred when she finally gave in and stopped fighting to be on top, making her entire body shudder in delight at his praise.
Loki wanted to take his time to devour her, but his lust raged on and he was unable to contain himself. He used his skilful silver tongue for a while, to make sure she was wet enough. First tracing some of her scars that were on her body, before delving into her cunt and making her dance on the tip of his tongue. When he had her screaming his name in pleasure, he finally crawled up over the top of her and thrust into her, filling her with his cock.
Her sharp nails dug into his back, leaving deep marks. Loki bit her neck and shoulder in return, marking her as his on the outside as well as the inside, as his thrusts became more erratic and harder.
It was frenzied and rushed, but the both of them came almost together in the end. Loki finished first, emptying into her just before she started clenching hard around him. Her eyes rolled back in her head in pure ecstasy.
They were both sweating and panting when their bodies stilled, Loki remained within her as he let the weight of his body rest on top of her. Knowing she could take it. She loved feeling the comfort of him on top of her, oddly it was really soothing and made her feel safe.
‘For what it’s worth.’ Loki said as he nuzzled her cheek, making her smile. ‘I think you are far better off away from Muspelheim.’ He hummed.
Toshi smiled and squeezed her arms around him tightly, not wanting to let him go. ‘For what it’s worth... I forgive you for crushing my rose bush.’ She whispered, making Loki chuckle.

I have had an epiphany about Natasha Romanoff!
(btw, I’m stupid and people probably pointed this out already)
So we all know Nat goes by many names and identities like:
Natasha Romanoff
Natalie Rushman
Fanny Longbottom
Natalia Romanova etc.
Now, the identity of Natalie Rushman was used whilst she was working for SHIELD and we’ll leave the other one as an inside joke. The other two identities seem to have been made by either herself or the Red Room. The names made by these others are Natasha Romanoff and Natalia Romanova.
We don’t know what her birth name was, as Yelena said, the Red Room destroys all of the girl’s birth certificates when they are taken or sold as baby’s/toddlers.
So obviously she’d need a name like everyone else.
Is it a coincidence that her name is similar to her ‘mothers’?
Natasha Romanoff
Melina Vostokoff
And her sister’s?!
Natalia Romanova
Yelena Belova
At the same FRICKING TIME?
Tumblr media
I am so confused because little bits of info keep trying to connect with other things in my head that would make no sense to a person without inside knowledge.
Anyway that’s all!
Again, people are way more intelligent than me so they’ve probably realised this already!
-The Introverted GenZ that would happily let Loki walk over their back, wearing sharpened stilettos and has already planned 8 separate funerals, down to the flower arrangements, for themselves, decided by the way they will inevitably die.

Falling. You had always wondered what it would feel like going from a height like this. It was almost euphoric, the wind pushing against your back as you fell, carrying your tears up with it. These were your final moments, you knew that, there was no surviving a fall from this height, not even with the strength provided by the asgardian blood that ran through your veins. So you did what most people did in their final moments, reflected on how you got here.
It all started centuries ago, in the golden palace on Asgard, the place where you were raised as a noble, your father being one of the Allfather’s most trusted advisers. Your memory of those years were riddled with the overwhelming feelings of loneliness, your only company being the vast array books in the palace library. You were lonely until the day you met him.
It was a day like any other, your father was tied up in various meetings with the Allfather and other important asgardians and like always you were camped out in the library. Through the years that you had spent here it had become your safe space and in the very back in a small corner was your place of happiness there was a small emerald chaise lounge with just the right amount of light and all of the books you had ever enjoyed stacked up around it. What you didn’t expect was for someone to already be occupying your oh so sacred spot.
He was stretched out on the lounge, his thin form but tall form draping over the edge a book in hand. You knew who he was of course, you were a noble after all, the dark prince, the forgotten prince, the boy that spent his years in his brother's shadow. In all of your 400+ years you don’t think you had ever seen him so peaceful, so you did what you usually did around people, you turned to leave. What you weren’t expecting was to feel the feather light touch of a hand on your wrist.
You looked up your eyes meeting his soft green ones. You wondered how he knew about this corner, about you and your time here, but pushed the thought aside as your gazes locked. There was something there, an unspoken understanding from one outsider to the other. He smiled softly, pulling a book out of seemingly nowhere and handing it to you wordlessly. You smiled in thanks and watched as he left, his green cape swaying behind him. And that was how it started.
You would have expected falling to be something that was over quickly yet it somehow seemed like the longest moment of your life. You knew you were getting closer though, you could see the tops of other buildings now, so as you waited you went back to thinking.
After that fateful meeting your relationship with the raven haired prince slowly started to change, for nearly fifty years the two of you would simply give each other books you thought the other would like, starting off wordlessly and eventually progressing into bigger and bigger conversations until the two of you would spend hours in the library together, animatedly talking about whatever book you were interested in that day, no doubt blowing off countless responsibilities your fathers had begun to place on you now that you were growing older.
It was around a hundred years after your first meeting that your relationship crossed from friendly conversations to stolen kisses and secret meetings. The two of you were around 500 and 600 now, both preparing for your futures. Loki trained to become both a warrior and a king, despite the limited possibility of him ascending to the throne, and you training alongside Her Majesty the Queen and other female nobles, preparing to become the perfect wife and partner for the next generation of Asgardian nobles. Yet you still found time for each other, spending as much time as you could together, only finding comfort in one another.
It was when the two of you hit 900 and 800 that Loki became consumed by his anger. It was in secret of course, as most of his emotions often were, but his emotions were always something you and you alone had the privilege of seeing. By now you and the pale prince were an official couple, Odin and Frigga having blessed the relationship, allowing Loki to court you and eventually allowing the two of you to biome some form of official, not married, but official enough to be allowed to share a bedchamber without getting odd looks.
In the past Loki had always confessed his anger to you, never allowing it to influence his actions, reveling in the catharsis he achieved by ranting to you as you played with his hair, but now, as he watched his arrogant brother become more and more loved by the people, as he watched his brother be promised the throne despite his hotheadedness and obsession with being a warrior, something within him snapped. Now he would yell for hours on end, often trashing your chambers, rather than his usual soft kisses that were full of love, his kisses were messy, needy and full of all the rage he could never show. It was in everything he did every emotion tainted by the anger that masked the true emotion. But you accepted him, every bit of him and so you did what you could. You matched his energy but also reminded him that you were still there, still there to give him new books, still there to play with his hair and still there for him to lean on.
As you fell your thoughts wandered back to the present, you were nearly there, you could hear the screams below, and you could see the chitauri army and the chaos that they brought with them. You could see the faint outline of Iron Man landing on the tower and your thoughts once again returned to Loki and everything that brought you here.
After the exile of Thor and the era of Loki as King you thought maybe everything would stop, the looks and the whispers that everyone would finally stop treating Loki like he was just a liar and a danger, you yearned for and prayed for the return of the Loki you fell in love with. You were distraught when Thor returned, telling you that Loki’s ascension to the throne was all based on lies, that he had been responsible for the frost giants that had gotten in the palace, that he had tried to kill his friends, that he had tried to kill his brother. And that he was now plotting something far worse. Somehow, as much as you didn’t want to, you knew it was true, but despite everything you knew that your feelings wouldn’t change. So you fought Thor, or at least tried, not being able to actually bring yourself to deal any damage to the god, too overwhelmed with the truth of it all, so you ran. You ran back to the place where it all started, back to the library, back to your corner of safety.
You found out he was dead the next day, Thor sought you out to tell you himself, yet somehow there was the nagging feeling in the back of your brain that Thor was wrong, and boy were you right.
It was 2012 when he finally resurfaced, you had spent most of your days hiding from the asgardian population, from the prying eyes of everyone who figured you had something to do with the events of the previous year. You were once again faced with the fact that your feelings remained unchanged for him, that despite the reality of what he was doing, trying to enslave a whole population you would still do anything for him. It was Heimdall who alerted you of his return, but it was the Queen who convinced you to go to him, to try and bring back the love that you had spent nearly 600 of your years devoted to. So you did.
You landed on the rooftop of Stark Tower, admiring the pretty pattern the bifrost has burned into the gravel. It wasn’t long before Loki found you, after all the Bifrost was kinda hard to miss. It was emotional for you, seeing the man you loved after spending so long thinking he might be dead. You approached him slowly, he rushed to you in return, overjoyed at the sight of you, telling you of his grand plan, inviting you to join him, to be his queen, to rule over Midgard with him. It was tempting and for a moment, just a single moment you considered it. But you refused, nearly begging him to stop the madness, to return to you, attempting to reassure him that no matter what you would still be there, that you would still love him despite the things he’d done in the past few years. You told him how that while you didn’t quite understand everything that you could listen and love him, that you would give him everything the world never did. Yet, it was when you looked up into his eyes that you realised that something was truly wrong, that your prince might truly be gone, rather than the normal green that usually stared down at you a piercing blue met your gaze.
You backed up slowly, this was the man you loved yes but there was something else in him too, something that was evil and corrupting, something you were sure would infect you too if you joined him. And it was backing up that had been your mistake, the platform on top of Stark Tower was by no means small but you had simply landed too close to the edge, and as you stepped back you felt nothing and you began to fall.
Loki lunged, moving faster than he ever had, just barely grasping your left hand in time. And you watched as his eyes flickered in between his green and the unnatural blue and that's when you realised, he was scared. But you were slipping and his grip simply wasn’t enough. You smiled softly, knowing what was going to happen next, tears beginning to stream down your face, and with your last words you simply whispered “I love you.”.
You fell, leaving Loki only clutching air, but then he felt something else as his fist closed around the air where your hand had just been. He knew what it was almost immediately and looked down to find the gold band with a single emerald in it sat in his hand. The ring that had adorned your ring finger for the past three years, the proof that despite it all you loved him. And you smiled.
You knew it was the end now, the sound of cars and people louder than before, and you wondered what would have happened if you hadn’t been in the library that day. With your very last moments you imagined yourself on the emerald chaise, surrounded by books with Loki on your lap, playing with his hair as he read to you and you smiled for the last time

“THOR”/LOKI FIX-IT FICS
In honour of @backtoasgard month, here is your one stop shop for fics in which Frigga lives, Loki lives, they’re dead but reunited in Valhalla (because we take what we can get around here),Thor is a good bro, and Odin is doing some Improved Parenting. Also, more time travel fix-it fics than you can shake a stick at. Feel free to send me suggestions for fics by authors not listed here; I will continually update this as I find more fics that soothe the wounds left by canon.  (Fics listed by author in alphabetical order.)
*****
Growing Pains by Aloryshannon -- Loki is told of his heritage as a boy, but Odin gives him the choice of when and if he will ever tell Thor.
Before My Time To Go by @ark -- Time travelling to undo the damage that Thanos has caused in the present, Loki goes back too far and encounters a young Thor who hasn’t yet confessed his feelings to Loki. Infinity War fix-it, Thorki.
His Mother’s Son by @ayankun -- Loki arrives in Valhalla.
Yggdrasil Dreaming by Barkour -- Loki fell, and sleeps at the root of Yggdrasil, dreaming of his childhood and of Sif, while Sif dreams of the lost prince, dreams that do not feel like dreams.
Small Changes and Second Chances by @bereft-of-frogs -- Malekith kidnaps Frigga instead of killing her, and there’s someone around to heal Loki of his wound on Svartalfheim. The Dark World fix-it. Also:
Like A Tear On A Cheek -- Heimdall sees Loki alive and wounded on Svartalfheim, and goes to his aid. TDW fix-it.
Troubled Spirits On My Chest -- Newly imprisoned Loki is easy prey for a vengeful ghost in need of a body. The ghost didn’t count on Frigga.
Only Mostly Dead by blameitonvortices -- Odin felt Loki die on Svartalfheim, but the body that guards bring back still has the smallest spark of life left in it. (WIP)
Waste No More Time by burning_nova --  Set pre-Thor, Odin realises he’s fallen out of the habit of spending time with Loki and that he’s allowed his sons to grow up hating the Jotnar, an attitude that pervades most of the realm. He sets out to do something about both things, including giving each son a chance to rule as co-regent with Frigga while he sets out in disguise to see the state of the realm for himself. (Incomplete at 39 chapters, but it ends at a good place and was an extremely satisfying read.)
Undetermined Intervention by @camomiletea -- Infinity War fix-it. Loki wakes up in the past in Asgard, before Thor’s coronation, and realises he has a second chance to prevent his future from going wrong.
Castles In The Air by cosmic_medusa - Loki is not the one to sabotage Thor’s coronation, and his first act as Regent is to recall a mortal Thor from Midgard to help him uncover a tangle of political treachery.
Heart of Darkness by @delyth88 -- Just a tiny fix-it. Frigga still dies, but at least Loki is there as she passes.
Bring Me Home by @doubletan -- The Tesseract takes Loki back to Asgard. Post Endgame.
Closest Kept by @eienvine -- When Loki is wounded beyond Eir’s ability to help, Frigga takes him secretly to a blind healer on Jotunheim, where Sif and Loki learn of his heritage together and gain a new understanding of the Jotnar. Also:
Here at the end of the world -- Post-IW fix-it. Sif hears the Asgardian distress call and finds Loki floating in space amidst the wreckage of the destroyed ship, his magic just barely keeping him alive
The Child-King of Asgard by @898700 (ghost writer) -- Thor AU. Loki is much younger than Thor, there were no Frost Giants being let into the Vault, but Thor was still banished after his interrupted coronation for another reason and someone still had to take the throne. Kid Loki does a fantastic job of ruling Asgard by day and Odinsitting in the evening. He’s there for cuddles and praise when his father wakes and asks if Loki would one day like to be the king of another realm -- Jotunheim.
The Try, Try Again Series by @enchantedlokii -- What if Frigga kept looking for Loki after he fell into the Void? What if she found him? Frigga and Thor go to rescue Loki from Thanos.
Start From The Beginning by Everanon --  Time travel/time loop fix-it. Thor is sent back to the day of his coronation. He has that one day and one day only to fix what was broken and save Loki’s life.
Turn by @flaignhan -- An unlikely friendship begins when Natasha is asked to spend an evening ‘babysitting’ Loki in his cell. When Loki’s behavior improves when she’s around, it becomes a regular thing and slowly she encourages him to hope for a better future, one that is nearly ruined when she’s sent on a dangerous assignment and an old foe plots Loki’s downfall. Post Avengers.
A Queen’s Gamble by for_darkness_shows_the_stars (aka @stars-and-darkness) -- When Loki is discovered to be alive and on Midgard, Frigga is the one to go to him. This changes things.
Chaos Reign by @fourthrose -- Post - Endgame: When the Tesseract lands at his feet, Loki transports away to safety on Vanaheim, returning to Asgard only when the Dark Elves attack, leaving Thor and Odin dead in their wake and Loki to take up Gungnir and turn the tide of the battle, slaughtering Malekith and his followers and finding himself the new king of Asgard with his mother at his side.
The Tales We Tell by fuzzy_paint -- Day after day, Thor reads to Loki in his cell from the book of Norse myths that somehow came back from Midgard with him.
Few So Generous by @galaxysoup -- Frigga takes up the rule of Asgard instead of having Gungnir handed to Loki.
Withering Away by Galaxythreads == Thor makes a deal with the Avengers -- he’ll help them gather the Infinity Stones -- if he can bring back the Tesseract and Loki from the Statesman. (Includes Loki/Frigga scene on Asgard!)
Whose Prayers Would Make Me Whole by @gaslightgallows -- Loki and Frigga through the years. Death isn’t the end. Also:
The Art of Spinning -- Loki is given the chance to bring Frigga back from the brink of death following Malekith’s attack when the healers see the only thing tethering her to life is her bond with her son.
The Convalescent Way  -- Post Ragnarok, the Asgardian refugee ship lands on Vanaheim to re-supply, where old secrets come out and Thor and Loki’s family grows. Includes a visit to Valhalla and Loki and Frigga getting some time together. Guest starring Garm the Mystery Dog.
Seal My Heart and Break My Pride -- In Valhalla, Odin gives Loki a choice -- stay or go back to aid Thor in the fight against Thanos.
The Cruelty of a Brother  -- Thor forces Strange to restore Asgard and her people to a point before the Convergence. But he and Loki still have to live with the past and what they did.
Green and Bright  -- Thor is back from a year’s exile on Midgard, a year in which Loki ruled and gained the respect of the court. Frigga/Loki fluff.
Loki Odinson by Livin4Jesus -- When Loki is brought back to Asgard after the events of the Avengers, Odin uses a spell to see into his son’s memories, resulting in Loki being pardoned of all crimes. As Loki struggles with nightmares and rebuilding his family relationships, Thanos approaches Asgard with a score to settle. Will Loki be able to defeat the Titan with the support of his family and friends?
Loki and the Cosmic Cube by goddessofstories -- The Tesseract knows where Loki needs to go. It takes him to his mother. (”Variant!Loki/the Loki from Endgame)
Memento Mori by @gwendolynstacy -- At the moment of Thanos choking him, the time stone sends Loki back to his cell not long before the Dark Elves’ attack. It’s up to him to save his mother from dying and stop Thanos.
The Very Best of Us String Ourselves Up For Love by halcyonidae -- Loki finds his parents and a bitchy older sister in Valhalla, but he seeks a way back. For Thor.
To Remake the Universe by @independence1776 -- Odin arrives at the Bifrost in time to stop anyone going to Jotunheim and attempts to course correct his relationship with Loki. Thor AU.
Peripeteia by @infinite-monkeys  -- Thor is made regent when Odin falls into his Odinsleep before he can banish Thor. This leaves Frigga to confront Loki in the Vault, which is good. But it also leaves a war-hungry Thor who ends up thinking Loki is a shapeshifting Jotun who killed and replaced his brother, which is bad, since he promptly tries to murder his brother in truth. Loki must use all of his magic to save himself and play dead, hiding under a glamour until Odin awakes and stops a Thor bent on destruction.
Hope For The Hopeless by @jaggedcliffs -- Thor visits Loki daily in his cell to read to him. The ending is open but hopeful with Odin revealing that Loki’s cell is bespelled to release him as soon as he comes to regret his actions against Thor and Midgard. The fluffy epilogue!
Let her Know by jar_of_stars: Loki arrives just in time to save Frigga’s life when his magic allows him to see Malekith’s attack. But, panicked that he will be dragged from her side before he’s ready, he continues to pour all his life force into the shield keeping others away... (Angsty/possibly open ending if you squint)
The Binding of Loki by @kadorienne -- Odin waits for Thor to bring Loki back from Midgard, knowing what he has to say and do.
Til the Casket Drops by kaoticloki -- Banished to Earth without his powers to pay for his crimes, Loki huddles outside a homeless shelter, cold and sick and hungry. Luckily there are people who want to see him safe and warm inside, where a chance to prove his worth awaits him.
Everything’s Better With Bunnies by khilari and persephone_kore -- Loki turns into a bunny when stressed. A crack idea that actually deals with all the events of the first movie in a much better way and where everyone ends up in a much better place.
Also: Overlapping Spaces -- While visiting Asgard, Jane runs into a Loki under psychiatric care and a friendship develops. Long fic, Fosterson endgame.
Stormbreaker by @ladylapislazuli -- Time travel fix-it for Infinity War. Thor must hide his true identity when the Infinity Gauntlet sends him back to an Asgard where he’s still a brash youth and young Loki yearns to be noticed. (On hiatus)
Life’s Great Lie by laeveteinn -- Loki series AU/time travel fix-it. He doesn’t have a Gauntlet to allow him to wield the Infinity Stones safely, but some things are worth sacrificing for. And sometimes heroes get rewarded with a second chance.
I Am Sorry, Brother by LedaSF (aka @iamhisgloriouspurpose) -- A grieving Thor haunted by nightmares of his brother falling into the Void seeks help from an Asgardian priestess. A little bit of magic and the Norns listening in allows him to go back in time to make things right.
It Slips Between My Fingers Now by Lise (aka @veliseraptor) -- Post Endgame fix-it. While cruising with the Guardians of the Galaxy, Thor sees Loki’s ghost...or perhaps it’s a little something more. Also:
The Breaking Light -- When guards cannot wake an unconscious Loki, Odin goes to his son’s cell and plunges into Loki’s mind, horrified to find him being tortured by the Other and discovering just how much he still cares about his youngest son.
Road To Nowhere -- Loki enlists Thor’s help to bring Frigga back from Valhalla.
The Tapestries series -- Dying from the beating given to him by the Hulk, Loki is brought back to Asgard’s Healing Rooms. The evidence of past torture on his body gives him a second chance, and his family trying to make things right. But his body is more easily fixed than his mind, and Loki struggles to find a reason to want to live and accept their forgiveness.
Bring Back What Once Was Mine -- Future!Thor shows up in the Vault before Loki picks up the Casket of Ancient Winters. Don’t, he says, not alone. Urged to seek his answers from their mother instead, and assured that it changes nothing between them, Loki agrees, if only because he does not want to see ‘his’ Thor to turn into this battle-scarred weary wreck of a man who is hugging him so fiercely. (Open, hopeful ending)
What Grows Beneath the Nettle by @lizardbeths -- Sif discovers that Loki is ruling Asgard while Odin sleeps in a cavern far beneath the palace. Not for power, but for duty, because there is no one else -- Thor has gone missing.  But as Loki intends to sacrifice himself to seal Thanos in a pocket dimension after finding and saving a captive Thor, Odin wakes in time to go to his younger son’s rescue and take his place while he sends Loki back to safety. Also:
Cut and Reweave - Post Infinity War, Loki wants to fix everything that went wrong by altering his timeline so that Odin and Frigga don’t adopt him as a baby. He doesn’t succeed, but changes things anyway. Beautiful Loki/Frigga scene at the end.
A Thorn Saves the Rose -- Loki saves Frigga’s life at the cost of his own
To Walk The Path of Hope -- IW/Endgame fix-it. Thor travels back in time to enlist captive Loki’s help in the Avengers.
Understanding the Storm series: You get *deep breath* Loki fighting Thanos’s control from within his cell on Asgard with the help of Frigga and Thor!  Shadowpath gates under Thor’s bed! Odin trying to be a good dad! Ice sculpting on Jotunheim! Loki getting kidnapped and tortured by Malekith!  Sigyn Malekith’s daughter falling for Loki! Frigga rallying the Jotnar to stage a rescue and meeting Loki’s birth mother! Thanos taking over Malekith’s body and shoving an unconscious Loki through a portal to Midgard with an open Casket of Ancient Winters!  Earth plunging into a new Ice Age! Rescue by the Avengers! Road trip on Tony’s yacht to evade SHIELD!  Munin, Prince of Ravens stealing scenes left and right! Lost ancient Egyptian cities!  A battle to the death with Thanos in the desert! Loki being lauded for his deeds on Asgard and getting to incinerate Thanos’s body with Gungnir! Things wind down with Odin making sure that Loki feels a part of their family and Loki going away to a secluded estate with Frigga and Sigyn, who has become part of the Asgardian court, to rest and heal. A separate ficlet has them married and having a baby boy.
From the Shattered Stone  -- When Loki is impaled by the Kursed blade on Svartalfheim, Sif calls for Heimdall to bring them home, despite Loki’s protests, thinking even if he could survive, he’d just be put back in his cell. But with Sif making sure Odin hears of Loki’s heroic actions, Odin is willing to offer Loki a second chance.
A Seed In Barren Lands -- Sifki cell!sex with Loki in Jotun form, followed by Loki confessing a secret from his past -- he was sexually abused by Tyr as a child, leading to the death of his pet wolf when Fenrir tried to protect him. When Odin confirms this with the sharing of memories via Gungnir (also showing Odin what happened to Loki after he fell into the Void) Loki is freed to make right what he can. Continued in A Crocus in the Snow
The Littlest Star - a night of passion leaves Sif pregnant when Loki falls into the Void. When Ullr is born, pale blue and red eyed, Sif refuses to let Frigga glamour him  and they reveal to all of Asgard Loki’s heritage in a hope that Ullr will be accepted there. When Loki reappears on MIdgard, Sif goes to him and tells him he has a son. Doubting, he returns to Asgard with her and is shocked to see Ullr, obviously his. Frigga figures out his scepter holds the Mind Stone, and knows Thanos last had it. But Loki has no memory of him, or the last several months of his life. The scepter is taken away, leaving Loki alone with Sif and Ullr and a chance at a new beginning.
Ragdoll  -- Severely injured by the Hulk, Loki is brought back to Asgard to fight for his life. There, scans reveal the damage done by Thanos’s torture, and a memory loss means he doesn’t yet know of his heritage. His family vows to do better with this second chance that they’ve been given.
Revival by longforgottenhymn -- In the battle against Thanos, Thor rips the time stone from the Infinity Gauntlet and wishes to go home. He is sent back to the past on the day of his aborted coronation and realises he has a chance to fix the past. He tells them who he is and stresses that they must not invade Jotunheim, and that their parents must tell the younger Loki and Thor about Loki’s heritage and Hela. As the younger brothers forge a closer relationship, a way is found to open a portal in the palace to retrieve and revive the dead Asgardians floating in space in the other timeline with the use of the Time Stone. As the exhausted mages holding the portal open falter, the portal shifts to the battle in Wakanda, and Thanos comes through, only to die by Thor’s hand. The portal is shifted back into space and the final bodies are retrieved, the last being Loki. All are given succour and housing till future Sif arrives, saying she’s been sent back to lead them to their new home in their own timeline. This time, they go well provisioned with supplies and books that Loki orders, to teach the next generation of Asgard’s heritage.
Can We Start Over Before It’s Over by LRRH17 -- Endgame fix-it. Future!Tony sneaks into 2012!Loki’s cell, and tells him he needs to tell the Avengers about Thanos, and stop the future he knows from happening. Also:
Bleeding Out -- Endgame fix-it. Undestroyed by Ragnarok, Hela wants revenge against Thanos when the souls he promised her aren’t killed in the Snap, merely trapped in the Soul Stone. She returns Loki to life with the tools to go back in time and stop Thanos when it started, during the invasion of Midgard. This time, he will answer Thor’s question and reveal who controls the would-be king.
His Birthright by madwriter223 -- Odin didn’t mean his words to Loki when he was brought home to Asgard, But he knew Thanos could be watching, knew everything that Loki had gone through.
Litost by melonbug -- Thor AU. Loki makes better choices (mostly) than in canon. It’s still angsty as he struggles with the revelation of his heritage, but first Frigga and then Odin makes sure that he does not doubt that he is loved and their son.
Changing Fate by @melWinter -- When Loki finds an abandoned Dark Elf baby on Svartalfheim, he claims it as his own, and hides away to raise his son in peace. Meanwhile, Odin watches his son from afar, seeing Loki slowly healing and learning to love and trust again, and hopes that he may one day come home. Eventual Lokane.
Leave Out All The Rest by niori -- Instead of interrupting Thor’s coronation, Loki absents himself to Alfheim immediately after, leaving Thor to show how unready for the kingship he is as he turns the first few weeks of his reign into an absolute train wreck of poor decisions and rash, arrogant behaviour.  Also:
All the King’s Horses -- Heimdall makes sure that young Loki grows up thinking of the Jotnar as a race of people, not monsters. When he learns the truth of his heritage, Loki understands why.
In that Bright Land To Which I Go by 100indecisions (aka @thelightofthingshopedfor) -- Loki dies in Infinity War and wakes up in Valhalla with Frigga
Also: Now All The Tendons of the World Are Loosed -- after killing He Who Remains, Sylvie feels the need to fix one Loki’s timeline. She chooses Avengers!Loki, still in his glass cage with the Other’s hook in his mind and a head full of false memories.
Even That, I Could Not Say (mother) by Ordis -- Odin needs someone to take the throne while he goes off to bring Frigga back from Valhalla; when Loki returns home from Svartalfheim before Thor, he gets the job.
Queen Regnant by @peaceheather -- After Loki’s fall from the Bifrost, a weakened Odin must return to his interrupted Odinsleep and Frigga takes the throne. She does not let those who betrayed Loki go unpunished. Also:
Fate’s Guardian -- Post the Dark World, Loki must, at the Norns’ bidding, relate all that happened to him starting with his fall into the Void to Thor, Odin, and the Avengers, for allies will be needed in the war against Thanos.
Bargaining by proantangonist (aka @proantagonista) -- Thor is dead. Loki makes a deal with a witch to go back in time to fix things, at the price of his own life. Now reposting on AO3.

There, they run into a few Jotnar left stranded on Midgard after the war, and Loki learns of his heritage earlier than in canon. Things go rather better for all concerned. WIP.
Child of Winter, Child of Summer -- When kids!Thor and Loki sneak back into the Vault for a nighttime adventure after their earlier visit with Odin, Loki touches the Casket, transforms, and is unable to shift back. But when Frigga finds him the next morning, what began as a horrible day ends with Loki learning the truth and feeling more loved and valued by every member of his family.
All That Matters by theavengersmascot (aka @theclassicblunders) -- a series where Odin realises he and Loki have grown apart and seeks to correct that. Starts with a young teen Loki and continues through a Dark World fix-it.

Picking Up The Pieces by Thursdays_Angel -- series that begins where Loki’s body is recovered from space and revived. Along the way Thor and Loki become part of Tony’s and Pepper’s family and honourary uncles to Morgan. Special shout-out to Asgard, in which Loki accompanies Thor back to Asgard of the past to retrieve the Aether and gets to have a talk and some closure with both of his parents and Endgame: In which things get even better. The fixiest fix-it ever.
Waking the Dead by @tirsynni -- Loki steals the Time Stone and returns to the past before Thor’s coronation, intending to fix the chain of events that led to their meeting Thanos in space. Infinity War fix-it. WIP  Also:

Chaos Theory by Unforgotten -- Endgame fix-it. Studying the Tesseract after having escaped with it, Loki sees something within it that hadn’t been there before, the traces of the years of the original timeline. A little bit of magic later, and everyone now has memories of both timelines, and Loki returns to Thor on Midgard, suggesting they go home -- to an Asgard that still is.
Ásgarðrian Galdr by Valerie_Vancollie -- The Loki that fell into the Void and was imprisoned after Avengers manages to magically contact his younger self and gives him explicit instructions on what not to do when certain things happen. This leads to Loki having a successful reign as regent where he earns the respect of the Asgardian populace. Meanwhile, the Warriors Three, Sif, and Heimdall are punished for their treasonous actions and Thor’s journey towards becoming a better leader takes a lot longer than in canon. This fic does a fantastic job in bringing Asgard to life as a fully functioning society. If you like long fics that will take over your life, this is one of the best I’ve read.
Another Sleepless Night by wedgetail -- Odin visits Loki in the dungeon, wishing he could comfort his restlessly sleeping son.  Also:
Above All Shadows -- In a present where the Avengers failed to vanquish Thanos and Loki cannot see a captured Thor escaping Thanos with his life, he crafts a time travel spell to take him back to the past to save his brother’s life. Events start to spiral out of control, however, when a crowned Thor invades Jotunheim and is taken captive by Laufey, Odin is gravely wounded and falls into the Odinsleep, and a coup staged by one of Odin’s counselors ends up with Loki in the dungeons, his magic bound and his Jotun form revealed to all.  (MIND THE TAGS ON THIS ONE)

A Break In The Silence by Yaan: TDW AU. Badly wounded after Svartalfheim, Loki is returned to Asgard for healing and a second chance with his freedom and titles restored and Odin determined to be a better father.

Sixth Sense - Chapter 4
Paring: Loki x Female!Reader
Word Count: 2,761
Warnings: Character Fake!death, injury and violence.
Posted: 10/01/2021
A/N: This one is based on 'Thor: The dark world'
Tumblr media
Thor had taken you to the best healer in the palace. Odin had asked questions but Thor thought it best to let you explain. You had passed out not long after you left Loki’s cell. You had been unconscious for two days before finally waking up. You stirred before sitting up, the nurse making her way to you.
“Are you alright? How are you feeling?” Your nose wasn’t hurting as much, you assumed they used some sort of magic to heal you. Looking down you saw bandages surround your waist. Had you started bleeding? Looking at the nurse you saw how small she was. About 5’5, small face, short blonde hair framing her face, and her dark brown eyes filled with concern.
“I’m fine. I need to speak to Loki.”
“Thor insisted that you rest”
“Well, it’s his fault I’m injured in the first place!” You swung your legs over to dangle on the side of the bed.
“I’m sorry? He didn’t tell us the cause of your injuries. I-I assumed Loki-” You glared at her.
“Loki didn’t do shit to me. Thor threw a punch at him and I took it. That’s all.” You gaze fell as you hopped off the bed. Ignoring the pain on your waist.
“Where’s Thor?”
“Thor has returned to Midgard. He didn’t say where but-”
“Thank you. But I need to check on Loki.” The nurse knew not to interfere Thor had said you were stubborn, so she let you leave. Walking around the palace you decided to go to Heimdall. He could see over the realms, you had to find out what Thor was doing. Making your way to the Bifrost you saw his figure ready to open a Bifrost. Thor must be returning soon.
“Shouldn’t you be resting?” Heimdall didn’t need to look at you to know you were there. A giggle escaped your lips as you walked closer.
“I should, but it doesn’t mean I will.” Stopping next to him, you looked up at his figure. “Where’s Thor? I was told he returned to Earth”
“Yes. He went to find Jane after I lost sight of her.” Heimdall seemed lost. He had never lost sight of anyone before.
“Jane? Wait, you lost sight of her? But you see everything within the 9 realms”
“That is why Thor was concerned for her. I assume the convergence has opened portals to places even I cannot see”
“Can you see her now?” Heimdall ignored me as he opened the Bifrost. Thor and Jane appeared as Heimdall removed his sword.
“Thor! When I’m done with you I swear- Jane?” You stopped noticing the brunette stood next to him. “The- Thor, she has, power within her. It’s the same energy as Loki’s. It’s dark- powerful.”
“You can see it?”
“Yes, but her body can’t handle it for long. Her aura is fluctuating. Her body is fighting it. It will kill her if you don’t remove it.”
“Thor-” Jane sounded timid. You realised your mistake after you spoke but it was too late.
“Jane, humans cant hold powers like that for long, I don’t know what it is, but it’s not meant for humans to wield. How did you get it?” As you were walking to the palace again Jane and Thor explained everything they could. Your tactician senses were kicking in. You knew a power like that would draw in enemies. If it was hidden for so long, you knew it was dangerous. You sensed it. Thor had told you to rest. He said he would take you back to Midgard as soon as he could, but for now he needed to help Jane. That was before the attack. How didn’t Heimdall see it sooner? You didn’t know, but you knew something bad was going to happen. Thor had you with Jane, out of the way. Safe. After the attack, you found out that Frigga had died defending Jane, or at least the illusion of Jane she used to deceive the Dark Elf. The funeral was held later that night. You knew Odin sent a guard to tell Loki of her death. You wanted to check on him, see how he was doing. You knew he loved her, even if she wasn’t his real mother. She raised him as her own. He must be broken.
After her funeral, you had been told to stay put until you can go back to Midgard. You obliged. No one was in their right mind after the loss of their queen. You couldn’t exactly fall asleep until Thor came to you. He needed your help. You followed him until you made it into a room, under the castle, unknown to most of the palace. Heimdall, Sif and the Warriors Three were there. They had a plan to save Jane. Thor walked you through it. When the time came he asked for my company to see Loki and get his help. You were the only one who knew Loki’s true self. He would listen to you. When you entered, you knew it was an illusion, you saw Loki’s aura, but it was against the wall. Not the figure you saw standing there. He didn’t want to show how vulnerable he was.
“Loki enough. No more illusions” Loki removed the illusion and the room was trashed, and there sat Loki, right where you sensed him. He was broken, more broken than you had ever seen him. His hair was tussled. He no longer wore his elegant clothing. The furniture was scattered around him. Things were broken and out of place. Yet the way Thor spoke at him. He didn’t care. He no longer believed him to be the brother he grew up with. He wouldn’t even answer his questions. You got mad. But let him continue either way. Loki then hid his feelings again. Before we left. Getting ready to escape. You walked behind them. Loki was messing with Thor using his illusions. You had to admit it was funny. But you were worried about his wellbeing. Being able to look so, normal. So, mischievous. After seeing how broken he was you didn’t understand how he did it. But you knew you shouldn’t ask. Sif escorted Jane to our meeting point. Jane began speedwalking as Loki went to introduce himself she slapped him. You stood forward but was held back.
“That was for New York” A mischievous grin appeared on his face before he replied.
“I like her.” You huffed but didn’t think anything of it.
“Okay, now that we’re all here- let’s get to that ship” Guards appeared as you spoke.
“On my command” Thor got ready to attack before Sif intervened.
“I’ll hold them off. Take them” She nodded her head to you and Jane. You walked with Thor not before noticing everyone’s threats to Loki. You made it into the ship and Thor had tried to control it, but he was being aggressive with it. He didn’t have the patience. You leaned over him and looked at the console. You pressed what you thought was the engine. The ship started. Thor looked at you confused as to how you guessed it, while Loki looked proud.
Thor had turned the ship hitting every column in the area, but one.
“I think you missed a column.” Sarcasm was dripping from his voice. While you giggled Thor growled.
“Shut up.” Thor had started flying the ship, very unstably. Loki knew he wasn’t capable.
“Look why don’t you let me take over? I’m clearly the better pilot”
“Is that right? Well. Out of the two of us, which one can actually fly?”
“Boys! Now is not the time! We’re being attacked!” You looked at Jane, she looked bad. At that moment she fainted.
“Oh, dear. Is she dead?”
“Jane!” Thor yelled, hoping she could hear him.
“I’m okay” Her voice was weak as she raised her arm slightly before it fell back to the floor. Loki looked behind us noticing the guards ships approaching.
“Now they’re following us.” The ship shook as you heard weapon fire.
“Now they’re firing at us” Loki wasn’t helping Thor’s patience but he was at least making me laugh in such a dire situation.
“Yes thank you for the commentary Loki it’s not at all distracting” His voice was strained, but rough. He manoeuvred the ship around avoiding whatever buildings he could but he hit a statue at its neck.
“Well done. You just decapitated your grandfather” Thor growled lowly before you made it over the waters. The ship was unstable, you had no idea how you were going to get put in this.
“You know, this is wonderful. This is a tremendous idea! Let’s steal the biggest most obvious ship in the universe and escape in that!” Loki raised his voice showing his frustration. “Flying around the city, smashing everything in sight, so everyone can see us. It’s brilliant Thor! It’s truly brilliant-” Thor then pushed him out. You heard his scream and got angry.
“Why did you do that?!”
“We must jump Y/N”
“Ju- You want me to jump?!” Thor had picked up Jane and stood next to the open door.
“Trust me!” You looked at him questioning everything. But you knew he was your only way out. You and ran towards the door, closing your eyes as you leapt out the door. You fell until someone caught you. You then felt the thud of Thor’s landing before opening your eyes. You looked up and saw Loki facing you. He placed you down, struggling a bit with the cuffs but he tried not to show it.
“You lied to me. I’m impressed” Loki smiled in Thor’s direction. Proud of his brother’s deception. Loki started piloting to his secret passageway for us to escape. You sensed many people coming your way. You turned around and saw another Asgardian ship approaching.
“More ships incoming!” Thor and Loki both turned to confirm your inquiry. Loki began to avoid the ship’s attacks while you ducked. You forgot your weapons back on earth. You didn’t think you would need them. Loki turned the ship suddenly heading toward a mountain.
“Loki?!” Thor seemed like he knew what Loki was doing, but you feared he would kill you all.
“If it were easy, everyone would do it” Loki seemed calm. He wouldn’t risk his life over this, He knew what he was doing.
“Are you mad?”
“Possibly” Thor held on to Jane while you held onto the side of the ship. The ship became unstable as he went through the passage until the ship made it to a different planet. You didn’t know where you were but you knew you would need a weapon of some kind. A gun, a dagger. Anything to protect yourself. The ship was gliding to our destination. You had calmed slightly. Seeing Loki’s aura pulse, however, made you concerned.
“What I could do with the power that flows through those veins”
“No Loki, you’re body is already reacting to just being near it. It would not only consume you, but it might kill you. God or not.” Your eyes narrowed towards him, he knew you were serious.
“How is she?”
“She’s holding up alright. For now”
“She’s strong in ways youd never even know”
“Say goodbye”
“Not this day”
“This day, the next, a hundred years. It's nothing. It's a heartbeat. You’ll never be ready. The only woman whose love you've prized will be snatched from you.”
“And will that satisfy you?”
“Satisfaction is not in my nature”
“Surrender is not in mine” You couldn't hear the rest of the conversation. Your mind was focused on the other entities nearby. You tried to count them. You tried to control the power you had, Jane had sensed them to. The aether within her woke her up as dark elves entered the realm. She whispered the name of their leader. Malekith. You exited the ship following the brothers. Loki was still in chains. He lifted his hands, gesturing to his brother to remove them.
“You still don't trust me brother?”
“Would you?” Thor rolled his eyes as he freed Loki of his shackles. He rubbed his hands together before speaking quietly.
“No I wouldn’t” He conjured a dagger stabbing Thor. Your eyes went wide. This wasn’t Loki. Not the one who opened his heart to you just days prior. Thor was thrown off the hill and rolled down. Loki jumped down, ready to attack again while talking to Thor. As Thor summoned Mjolnir, Loki cut off his hand. Your hands covered your mouth in shock. You couldn't believe he would do that. Loki picked up Jane, and held her tightly making sure she couldnt leave his grip. He was bargaining with them. You ran towards them focusing on Thor’s hand, but it was still there. You could see the aura around his hand. It was an illusion. Making Malekith think that Loki was on their side. Malekith removed the aether from Jane. As she fell to the ground Thor yelled towards his brother.
“Loki! Now!” With a flick of his wrist the illusion faded and Thor’s hand reappeared. Loki shielded you and Jane as Thor tried to destroy the aether. Afterwards there was a giant force that would've injured you greatly if it wasn't for Loki. After the smoke cleared you looked up and saw the shards of the aether. It wasn't destroyed, but crystalised. As you three stood up, Malekith absorbed the aether. Making him more powerful than ever. He left for his ship while the others attacked. One of the aliens activated a grenade and threw it at us. Loki pushed you out of the way as it detonated, becoming a black hole, that was sucking him in until Thor flew past and grabbed him. You knew you needed to help. You might be a tactician but you were also a S.H.I.E.L.D agent. You were trained in combat.
“Loki! I need a weapon!” He considered the possibilities before conjuring another dagger and throwing it in your direction. Loki and Thor had the big guy. You had the grunts that were left. You held the dagger in your dominant hand before charging the grunt. You slashed at it’s chest before it jumped back dodging your attack. It attacked you and stabbed your stomach. You almost fell but you needed to finish this, You knew you had to act like Natasha on this one. You wrapped your legs around its head before flipping it onto the ground head first. Which knocked it out cold. You looked around trying to find the others when you saw a red beam destroying the last enemy. Seeing Loki on the ground made you panic. You tried to run over to them as Thor held Loki to his chest. You started crying, thinking of the worst. You made your way over slowly, jogging as fast as you could with the stab wound. Once you got there, you heard his last words.
“I didn’t do it for him.” Loki shut his eyes, as his breathing stopped. You waited for his aura to disappear. But it didn't. Once someone dies, their aura is no more. But his was still there. With tears streaming down your cheeks you narrowed your eyes. He wasn’t dead? But why was he faking it? You didn't know but you knew you had to find out.
“Thor! He has the aether! The conversion is upon us! We don't have much time!” Thor looked at His brother grieving. But he knew he had to fight for the 9 realms. For earth. He found a way to get to earth but insisted you stayed behind in Asgard until it was safe. You would have insisted on going with him but with your injuries, you would be no help. Using Nat’s move probably wasn't best suited for them, but you had to help. You agreed to return to Asgard with his help you made it there safely on your own. Once you got there your head felt heavy from the blood loss. You almost fainted then and there. But you were stubborn. You wouldn't let your body fail you. Not right now. You began walking the long distance over the bridge, keeping pressure on your wound. Ready to return to the palace you were determined to make it. You made it halfway before you saw soldiers heading toward you. Letting your body fall, you knew you couldn't take much more. You passed out before you were picked up and taken inside.

(As a welcome to my newest Patreon Kate (sorry this took so long dear one), and I confess a touch of self indulgence. Loki was Actually first in Mitguard many years before Thor, and he met an interesting human, who was high as kite!) Established Johnlock, Established LokiSigyn,
In this AU Loki does not die on that ship and indeed finds the sunshine again!
Loki landed in Midgard, he had heard tales of this land where his people had once been Gods and had also heard endless lectures that this could be no more, as they had to leave Earth and it’s peoples to their fate. The whole was pointless, but he had decided to look the City of London in the eye because it sounded like a challenge. To look a city in the eye must be an interesting feat and it was said that the London Eye was quite impressive.
“Could you direct me to the eye of London?” Loki asked a neatly dressed policeman. “The What!?” “The city's eye, the London Eye. I wish to meet it’s gaze” The man had given him a quizzical look, maybe one could only met the eye by invitation, as a Prince could he not appeal to their Queen. “Down by the river" had been his only direction but his guide gave a further “follow the smell" before going on his way. Loki could smell only one source of water so he made his way towards it. The destitute were everywhere but he understood that the city looked after them, maybe it had a kindly eye, he thought grinning to himself until further enquires led him to an enormous wheel strung with carriages.
This was the great City of London's eye!
Loki barked a laugh of disappointment, it was a perfect metaphor for the whole damn planet, all just spinning in place pointlessly! “It won’t blink you know" Loki started and turned to the voice. One of the destitutes had approached him, a striking face but Loki could smell the poison he’d put in his blood. Curiously Loki held his peace hoping that maybe his sudden companion would speak again.
“You asked after the eye like you were about to have a staring contest and were so clearly disappointed to see it… you’re not from around here, no. You smell wrong, like winter but it's the middle of June and you move strangely too, like you ride a lot of horses but you don’t carry the callouses of caring for them, gloves would mask the marks of riding.” Loki watched the interesting mind race behind those odd eyes. “Sherlock Holmes" Who held his hand out for a polite shake in the manner of someone meeting a new animal, cautious of bites.
“Loki Odinson" He responded in kind and the heat of Midguard blood startled him almost as much as the words that followed “Norse mythology, god of mischief, shape shifter and Mother to a few supposed monsters… this isn’t your real skin is it? It feels wrong too” Loki's eyes filled up blood red right through the sclera as he allowed his Joten face to push through his human skin. Sherlock look intrigued and oddly relieved. Like he has been waiting for his mind to leave him all along.
Loki smiled as questing fingers lightly traced the patterns in his Joten skin, he couldn’t break his glamour for long but to enthral one mortal was really no risk. “This is my true skin Sherlock Holmes, Fenris and Sleipnir are no monsters but if you treat something as monstrous for long enough what’s the difference.” He was growing melancholy and that was not the purpose of this journey. He would entertain his new found friend instead, so he grabbed the hand that lingered on his skin, he had some time while the poison was working during which Sherlock Holmes would dismiss it all as fantasy and hallucination.
The revelation of his true nature had sparked an idea in the mad man's head to they found themselves outside of a bland looking building. “So this establishment is where your brother spends his leisure time, but refuses you entry…” Loki read a small brass plate that displayed Diogenes Club and the rather impolite phrase of ABSOLUTE SILENCE that was engraved beneath it. “You say he has cut you off because of the poison, the drugs, and you would like me to play tricks on him for your amusement…” Loki studied the face in front of him it was sickly and underweight but with arresting eyes and a fine frame to the body. He could work with this. “Just don’t let him touch you" Loki warned as he wove the spell, his magic was still young and could be unstable. “Won't be a problem” Sherlock had managed before the rush of the magic stole his breath.
The door swung open and two men strolled in; hair just slightly longer than proper matched well with impeccably tailored suits. Sherlock took a slight lead to the tea room where the so called powerful but most just plain boring sipped and chewed in their desperate collective solitude. No Mycroft, he shook his head at Loki and turned them towards his brother’s office, pausing beside the doorway to the antechamber he tried to figure out his next move. The fussy old secretary would interfere and he was at a loss until Loki moved him to face himself in a brushed steel light fitting… He barely held back a gasp as his illusion self vanished but not just his illusion, he and Loki were simply gone.
Loki grinned as he guided his shocked accomplice towards the entrance, entering was easy enough and he swiftly moved them into the office proper as the brother's assistant had left the door open to drop off some documents. A pallid man sat at a desk frowning at words and scratching his own mark irritability on each page. A tray beside him held a plate of sweet confections and some hot beverage gone cold, cancelling all sound around them Loki turned to Sherlock. “Okay, what next?”
Sherlock's smile split his face and he hoped he would remember this after the high. “The biscuits, Mummy, our mother sends them by the batch. He always eats too many, has since we were kids" He watched incredulously as Loki waved a hand and the biscuit in his brother’s fingers snapped in two. Startled his brother tried to pick up one piece but it broke again and so did the next one. Sherlock could see the sweat form on his brother’s temple and waited for his next move. A crack, deafening in the habitual silence, heralded spilled tea and fallen papers as his brother’s fussy desk split in two under his palms. Mycroft was on his feet now staring at his secretary who had glanced into the room and continued without a word. The phone was next and the plastic shattered into his palm, his trousers were the final casualty. He’d tried to dust the plastic’s shards off his hands and then fled in his ragged clothes to the next room.
Sherlock followed crying magically silenced tears of mirth as his brother pointed and waved soundlessly to his beleaguered secretary, climbing to her feet she glanced into the office again. All was as it should be. “Are you okay sir, you look a bit peaky" She’d queried quietly and Mycroft had nearly fainted dead away as he had turned and seen his office in perfect order.
Sherlock guided Loki back the tea room and took a few breaths to collect himself, he nodded to his companion to drop the camouflage and led them out to the streets in the requisite silence before collapsing on a park bench to chortle out his thanks.
Loki nodded as his almost friend thanked him, he could smell the poison was leaving Sherlock’s blood and knew he would need to depart soon. “It was my pleasure, the pointless rule of silence, it that your brother’s doing" “No it’s a general rule, avoids political discussions which inevitably always get loud, good rule though” Sherlock was sobering fast so Loki lead them to a small well tended park and settled them on a bench. “Enough poison Sherlock, no more drugs" He watched as Sherlock took in his words but cast a sleep charm upon him before there could be an argument.
If Midgard held One such as Sherlock Holmes maybe it wasn’t so pointless and he was smiling as he went home.
… Ragnarok and one mad titan later. ...
Loki lay on a couch and watched the Midgard sun rise over the green land they had called Asgard because where else would they live. Sigyn would be awake soon and Loki would forever be grateful that she was among the survivors who had trickled in after the attack, Heimdal could see them, see what remained of the Asgardians after that harrowing battle and they had gathered everyone to their new home.
Sigyn had been away in Vanahiem with a small group when Hela had attacked and there had been a few groups in other Realms but Thor had insisted everyone be present in their new home as the people of Asgard rebuilt.
Loki's face clouded over as he remembered how he had gained a wife, she had been delivered by an emissary of Jotenheim, and he had watched his brother’s blood boil as Thor had very slowly realised that the emissary was not actually asking for aid for the clearly ill woman in his charge. Thor had stood to say something, no doubt very kingly and self-righteous, so Loki stepped between his brother and the trouble maker to graciously accept the gift of a spouse from the new king of the Joten, he had been the one to destroy half of their city many years ago and had aided greatly in the repair as recompense.
The woman raised wary eyes as Loki guided her to the healers and then promptly guided her to his chambers after they had dismissed her suffering as simple exhaustion. He was quietly furious as she sank into the couch, he was no healer but he knew who might help, many years ago he had been having fun on Midgard, in London, it wasn’t far. He had watched the mortal many times after that first meeting, he had displayed a brilliant mind but far too many scruples, Sherlock! ... his companion had been a healer, between them they would aid his wife.  So he gathered up his precious cargo and stepped though space, South and West over the waters.
John was pecking his way through a blog post as Sherlock prepared dinner. “Sherlock" a voice called from their lounge, holding up a hand for Sherlock to stay where he was John peered into the other room. Loki stood in the lounge holding a limp form to his chest. “John!” John dashed forward as Loki lay the woman carefully on the couch. She wasn’t human, half-mast eyelids showed blood red eyes and the distinctive Joten markings pushed through pale human skin.
Sherlock knew that voice but stayed in the kitchen as John had indicated, Loki had sounded relieved to see the doctor so clearly there was a medical problem, he turned off the gas and collected John’s kit as well as a blanket upstairs. He put the kit at John’s side and stepped around Loki to drape the blanket at the woman’s feet, John would pull it up when he was done so Sherlock clasped a hand to Loki's shoulder in support and quietly headed to the kitchen, two more for dinner then. He let John get on with clearly urgent work.
She had been a cast off like himself, an insult intended to remind Loki of what he was but she was also a true person in Loki's eyes and he had made sure she knew that.
He chuckled to himself because she had learned; she had healed and become his wife but she also grew fiercely independent and though they were wed they saw no need to be in constant company. Loki was pleased with her boldness and proud that she had recovered from her ordeal so excellently.
He could hear her waking, these new chambers were small but suited them with a simplicity that Asgard had never really possessed. It had been a few months since everyone had been called to this new home and the quiet domesticity had been a balm he did not know he’d needed but his heart froze as a loud thump came from the bedchamber.
“Sigyn, my love. Are you well?” He called as he rose then raced through the small house, because he knew the answer. He knew there would no joke to share, of two left feet, or playful mocking of Midgardian shag carpets. His wonderful wife lay pale on the floor as she tried to rouse her body from the collapse.
Loki lifted his wife with quiet words to sooth her distress, there were human healers, a hospital a short way away. He could maintain her illusion for her and hoped they would be able to help as he turned on his heel and stepped through space into a strange room. “My wife, my wife!” He approached a woman standing nearby, her clothes and name tag identified her as a doctor, like Sherlock’s John! “Please aid my wife, she collapsed a few minutes ago, it’s never happened before!”
He lay his very soul on a steel treatment bed and also wept with relief as the room burst into action. They fussed and took readings from all kinds of things that they attached to her arms, fingers, and head. She spoke to them quietly and called to him for answers when she could no longer talk then when once again he was told exhaustion and he nearly screamed, but these were uninformed human doctors. “I’m going to bring her regular doctor, he can consult for you" He gritted out before he threw himself through the doorway of the room, stepping through space once again into 221B Baker street.
“John!” He called this time and Sherlock answered “He’s occupied at the moment Loki, he won’t be long" “Unoccupy him then, my wife has collapsed and these simple Midgard healers know nothing!” Loki was pacing the dingy room when John appeared. “Your wife collapsed, what were her symptoms before it happened” but the end of the sentence was muffled as Loki grabbed John’s shorter frame firmly around the shoulders and stepped through space back to the hospital door he had left from.
“No! Loki, no, I’m not looking at a thing" John adamantly refused as he had been out and out kidnapped from London without even his phone for Sherlock to trace. He could see Sigyn, Loki's wife where she lay resting on a gurney in a pile of blankets. “Just review the tests John and I will return you personally!” “No Loki we discussed this, my phone is at home. Sherlock will be going spare. Trust Loki, there needs to be trust.” Loki almost roared with anger but a quiet coughing sound from the bed drew his gaze, she was laughing weakly at him and shooeing him off with a small gesture.
The regular staff had long since cleared out as the Asgardians had quickly made arrangements with the nearby hospitals, they would be needed until healing rooms could be set up and currency could do anything on Midgard. He returned her small smile and gave John a glare for good measure before he step through space and almost straight into Sherlock, who stood in the lounge in his coat and scarf obviously waiting. Loki had been about to comment on blinding, pig headed loyalty but Sherlock simply flashed a ring shining on his left hand. “I know, he’s lovely isn’t he" Growling at the nonchalant comment Loki quickly confirmed his consent and wrapped an arm around Sherlock's waist before he thrust them both through space to John’s side.
John was smiling by the time they returned and Sigyn seemed more awake too but there were tears in her eyes and he rushed to her side. “What did you do to her!" “I did nothing, what did you do to her” John responded as he turned to lean against Sherlock and whisper in his ear.
John watched the bed from Sherlock's arms. Sigyn held Loki and copied John’s gesture of quiet words in the only ear she would need. He watched as Loki froze and then shook, John heard sobs which turned to laughter as Loki scooped Sigyn off the bed and stepped magically though the entire wall, like it was the illusion, before heading towards the reception area. He heard more laughter and walked beside Sherlock as they followed it at a human pace.
Loki smiled with tears on his face as he thanked the staff, he rejected the offer of a wheel chair, refusing to put his wife down so that she might simply walk. “Regular exercise is important in early pregnancy Loki" John had called to him but this was irrelevant for the moment. “Maybe a taxi rather" Sherlock had suggested which made sense as stepping through space had taken him practice and took effort so there was no way to know its effect on a baby. “Loki, get them home first Love" His beautiful, glowing, miraculous wife had chided gently as he had turned for the door. “We'll wait" Two smiling men had said in almost perfect unison and they did wait, quite patiently until Loki strode out from a different doorway and embraced them both.
Arms lock around chests and shoulders as the three men embraced tightly over the good news. Loki dropped his head to Sherlock’s shoulder and said a quiet thanks in John’s ear. When they left the hug they were back in Baker street. “We will visit as much as we are able. John I hope you’ll remain in attendance of Sigyn's condition" Loki turned to John who looked a bit crescent fallen. “I’m not an obstetrician, a birthing doctor.” “But she would prefer you by her side, even if you’re only consulting. I believe you’re familiar with the practice of consultation” He flicked his gaze to Sherlock who was glowing, and Loki knew that look very well. He had worn it just that morning, pride in his partner, and a fathomless depth of love

How would they react after being hit by a snowball? (Marvel Edition)
Request a head cannon
Masterlist
Tony – You'd been warned never to go after Tony, even by Tony himself, but just seeing him standing there, completely oblivious to you as he was in deep Conversation with Rhodey, the temptation proved too much.  The snow had hot him incredibly accurately and Rhodes burst but laughing, Tony slowly turning to face you.  You knew by his expression alone that you were going to pay somehow, so you just decided to throw another.  Whatever Tony would get you back with was definitely worth it.
Clint – You underestimated just how prepared Clint would be, and, as it turned out, he'd been hit more than his for share of times over the years, so he had to be.  He'd still jumped a mile when you hit him, but then his eyes harrowed on you, you knew you were in for it.  He'd been stock piling and hiding snow ball piles everywhere he could, and he was very accurate when he threw them, laughing almost maniacally as you tried to dodge and return fire.  You quickly promised yourself never to do that again.
Bruce – You had debated for the briefest of moments whether or not you should, especially as he looked so peaceful just sitting outside reading quietly, but you quickly decided he had more than enough self-control over something like this.  Bruce had tensed on the impact, snow tumbling free from his hair, but as soon as he glanced back and saw you, he couldn’t help but give a quiet chuckle and call you over to him, his arm wrapping around your shoulders and telling you that perhaps it was better to warn him a little next time, just in case.
Bucky – Bucky went scarily still and you quickly realised that you probably shouldn't have done it, you should've given him more time to adjust to things.  You quickly and profusely apologised, his shoulders relaxing as he realised what had happened.  He took your hand, forgiving you, and suggesting perhaps building a snowman together instead.
Steve – It had been a long time since Steve had had a chance to relax like this, just spending time with you.  After the initial impact of the snow ball, it took him a moment to react, but your giggle made him grin, and soon the two of you were in a light hearted match back and forth.  After a while, both your clothes a little damp, he scooped you up and said it was definitely time for a hot chocolate and warm fireplace, the smile not dropping from his lips.
Loki – The snowball stopped short and your smile quickly faltered as Loki shot you a slightly unimpressed look before launching it back at you.  You were quick, but Loki it seemed, was quicker, anticipating your dodge and hitting you square in the face with snow.  Loki quickly laughed and asked whether or not you wanted to try that again, but you were already gathering another ball, determined to get him, and it broke into an interesting fight, one you definitely won.
Thor – You were a little disappointed when Thor barely even seemed to feel the impact, but he was quick to turn to you with a grin and a chuckle.  Gathering his own ball of snow, you returned his smile, and the two of spent a long time pelting each other with snow, and if hadn’t been for the fact that someone had come and gotten the two of you, you would’ve easily continued well into nightfall.
Peter Quill – Peter hated the cold at the best of times, and his whining about it was what caused you to do it in the first place.  He’d glared at you at first before you threw another one, and another, even as he tried to stop you and knock them away.  The others joined in too, and eventually he started laughing, giving and in and begging for you to accept his apology.
Logan – He looked at you like were mad at first, having not expected it, even asking what you were doing. You shrugged and grinned, and said every one had to have fun sometimes.  Logan continued to stare at you, even as gathered another in your hand, and it wasn't until you hit him with the second one that he finally fought back.
Stephen – You regretted it almost immediately as he waved his hand at the tree you just happened to be standing under, a large pile of snow dumping on your head and shoulders, making him chuckle.  Unbeknownst to him, was that you did have a backup plan, Wong and several of the other students quickly pelting him with more snow.
Carol – Having spent the day out in the show together, it had just been a question of who would snap first.  Carol hadn’t honestly expected it to be you, or to be caught so off guard by it, but she instantly laughed, and was quick to return fire, finishing off your snow day nicely.
Sam – Sam let out a string of curses that surprised you, watching him, a second snowball in your other hand.  He brushed the show off of himself and sent a glare upwards, only to frown, realising he wasn't under a tree, and slowly face you.  You stared at each other for the longest of moments, trying to gauge what to do next, before you finally petted him with the second.  "You are so dead!"  He shouted after you as you bolted, cackling, more than happy to accept the consequences.
Heimdall – He knew what you were going to do and let you do it anyway, the show tumbling over his shoulders, your giggle making him smile.  As long as you were happy, not much else mattered to him, and the more he heard you laugh, the happier he was too.  It didn't stop him from returning his own snowball though.
Rhodes - It was after a mission, so he was still in his suite, only his head exposed, the glittering white just too much of a temptation in letting off steam.  He hadn't minded so much being hit, if anything, he'd been expecting it.  What he hadn't been expecting, was the snow to melt almost instantly down the back of his neck into his suite, the team roaring with laughter as he tried to stop the cold from creeping down his back.

"Loki brought it all on himself"
Ok, we need to talk about this frequent claim that Loki deserves all the bad things that have ever happened to him.
Firstly, let's just get this out of the way. The amount of gaslight in the assertion that Loki “broke his family's trust” is unbelievable. As in, I literally cannot believe there are people who genuinely think this. They turn canon completely on its head. Loki's family betrayed his trust—by kidnapping him as an infant, lying to him for his entire life, raising him to despise the Jötnar while knowing that he was actually one of them, and chronically mistreating him—long before he took on any villainous behaviour. Loki’s story is very much one of what can happen when you push even a good person too damn far.
The worst thing Loki can be accused of having done prior to the complete mental collapse he suffers upon learning his life has been a lie, is letting a handful of Frost Giants into Asgard to crash Thor's coronation. He does this partly—in his own words, and he has no reason to lie about this to Laufey of all people—to protect the kingdom from Thor's foolishness and immaturity. And he is not alone in his belief that Thor is not ready to be ruler of Asgard. Odin himself, in a scene that did not make it into the film, expresses doubt about this, and Frigga, interestingly enough, reassures him by reminding him that Loki will be by Thor's side to counsel him and, for lack of better phrasing, keep him from doing too much damage.
Tumblr media
So I think we can dismiss that action as a "betrayal" of his family's trust—and even if one does want to consider this a betrayal, it certainly isn't one on a scale that merits spending thousands of years enduring psychological torture (which is what solitary confinement is).
Another assertion frequently made is that Loki manipulates Thor into going to Jötunheim to confront Laufey. Loki most definitely manipulates Thor—but at no point does he suggest doing that. Thor comes up with that harebrained scheme all on his own. The most Loki does is attempt to manipulate the rift between Thor and Odin by playing into Thor's sense of righteous anger and his resentment at being shut down. Not only does Loki not suggest at any point that they should confront Laufey, but he actively takes steps to prevent them from reaching Jötunheim. He tries to talk Thor out of going; he orders a guard to inform Odin of their plans, expecting they'll be intercepted in time; he takes the initiative to speak for them to Heimdall, very likely because he knows Heimdall dislikes/distrusts him. And after all of that fails, he attempts to talk Thor down from starting a war once they're standing in Laufey's court. Interestingly enough, I never see anyone claim that Thor betrays his family's trust by reigniting a war with the Frost Giants, endangering the lives of his family, his friends, and his would-be subjects. It's almost like all the accusations of betrayal that people level at Loki aren't based on any sort of objectivity or moral high ground at all and are merely rationalizations by people working backwards from the conclusion that Loki is “evil”, simply because the narrative has framed him as a villain.
We also need to reckon with the fact that Loki did not "steal" the throne. Thor was stripped of his power and banished to Earth (which was not Loki's doing) when Odin fell into the Odinsleep (also not Loki’s doing). After Thor, Loki is next in line for the throne. That's literally just how the royal line of succession works. With both Odin and Thor incapacitated in one way or another, the responsibility of ruling falls legitimately to Loki. Frigga herself names him regent-king. Loki neither banishes Thor from Asgard nor forces Odin to go napnap, nor indeed does he even attempt to manipulate Frigga to pass the role of regent onto him—if anything, he’s shocked when she does so; therefore, it is completely unreasonable to accuse him of having "usurped" anything.
It’s equally unreasonable to claim that Loki “arranged for” Thor’s banishment, yet I see people say the same time and time again. Let us just recall that 1) Loki attempts to intervene when the fight between Thor and Odin begins to escalate
Tumblr media
and 2) This is Loki’s face upon Odin’s inexplicably extreme punishment.
Tumblr media
Look, I know Loki is known as being a liar, but if you think his shock here isn’t genuine, I have some oceanfront property in Arizona to sell you.
Now, I could stop right here because the claim is that Loki betrayed his family’s trust first and thus brought everything on himself. And as I’ve clearly demonstrated, any villainous actions Loki takes, be they in the first Thor film or thereafter, come after learning the truth (aka having his trust broken by his family). But because I know how much people love to move the goalpost when it comes to Loki, let’s just go on to address why none of his actions are truly villainous in the classic sense of the word.
Every wrongful action Loki takes in this film, outside of the aforementioned interference with Thor’s coronation (which we’ve already established may have been ill-conceived but certainly was not a “betrayal”) is a reaction to various betrayals against him or a result of paranoia fueled by a complete emotional collapse.
“Trying to kill” Heimdall is not a betrayal because Loki is defending himself from Heimdall who is attempting to commit regicide. (Also, if Loki had wanted Heimdall dead, he would be. The fact that he’s not, is a demonstration of Loki’s benevolence, not his ruthlessness).
Lying to Thor about Odin being dead is cruel, but it’s not borne of a desire to hurt Thor. Both the lie and, later, sending the Destroyer are borne of desperation, because as Tom himself has stated, Loki believed Thor would kill him if he made it back to Asgard and learned the truth. This is a moment that, if there were any justice in the MCU, ought to have haunted Thor for the rest of his life:
Tumblr media
That’s one Jötun who definitely fears him.
This goes far beyond the claim that he betrayed his family, but I’ll address it anyway: tricking the Frost Giants by inviting them into the palace under false pretenses is not a betrayal because there is no established relationship of trust between Loki and the Jötnar. You can’t betray a trust that doesn’t exist.
And attempted genocide is definitely not a betrayal of his family’s trust because genocide is literally what this family does. Genocide is their entire legacy. Despite claims to the contrary, this was an established fact well before Ragnarok. (”So I am no more than another stolen relic, locked up here until you might have use of me?” “I went down to Midgard to rule the people of Earth as a benevolent god, just like you.” “[What of the lives you took on Earth?] A mere handful compared to the number Odin has taken himself”). If anything, trying to destroy Jötunheim was an attempt to live up to the family name. It was misguided and wrong, but it was in no way out of line with what Loki and Thor were raised to do. Asgard is a warrior culture; killing their enemies is not perceived as immoral, but honourable. In fact, one of the reasons Loki’s actions were likely seen as dishonourable is because he used the power of the Bifröst rather than engaging the Jötnar in direct warfare. (Though it is possible, given the state of Svartalfheim, that this was also done in the past to wipe out the Dark Elves). But what was it that Odin said when he was yelling at Thor in the Observatory prior to banishing him?
Odin: “Do you realise what you’ve done? What you’ve started?”
Thor: “I was protecting my home!”
Odin: “You cannot even protect your friends! How can you hope to protect a kingdom?”
At no point does Odin state that killing the Jötnar is wrong. But he does criticize Thor for putting his friends in danger by going to confront Laufey. (This is still not the catalyst for Thor’s banishment. That comes later, when Thor calls Odin “an old man and a fool”). Loki, however, conveniently knows a way to destroy the Jötnar without risking any Asgardian lives. And since a condemnation of killing their enemies is not a part of Odin’s diatribe, he has no reason to believe that Odin disapproved of that part of Thor’s misbehaviour. So now he can say, “Look, Father. I did what Thor couldn’t!”
Thor: “Why have you done this?”
Loki: “To prove to Father that I am a worthy son. When he awakens, I will have saved his life. I will have destroyed that race of monsters and I will be true heir to the throne.”
Only, as we all know, it's in vain.
There’s only one moment in the entirety of the first Thor film that I would class as a genuine betrayal of his family’s trust, and that is that he puts both Frigga and Odin in harm’s way when he invites Laufey into Asgard under the false pretense of allowing him to slay Odin in his sleep. This was very short-sighted of him; what if he’d been too late and his scheme had gotten Frigga killed before he’d arrived to intervene? Betraying his family was not his intent here, but in his highly emotional state of mind, he did endanger them needlessly— much like Thor needlessly endangered his friends and his brother by going to Jötunheim and starting this whole mess to begin with. (However, I never see fans criticise Thor for this. And they should. My point here is not that Loki should not be criticised for endangering his family, but that there needs to be consistency. If you’re going to call out Loki for endangering his loved ones, you need to call out Thor as well. If you’re going to call out Loki for mass slaughter, you need to call out Thor as well).
In short, I think my favourite thing about the vast majority of Loki antis is their blatant disdain and lack of empathy for the mentally ill and the abused. And by ‘favourite thing’, I of course mean that it disgusts me.

The Mistress
CHAPTER 3: Is This Jealousy
Loki x fem!Reader (Kira)
Series: A new chapter begins in Kira’s life. Old secrets, new confessions, surprising allies and unexpected meetings. All of them have one name in common. Loki.
Chapter content: soft feels
Warnings: a teeny weenie bit of jealousy
Word count: my cousin is awesome. She is such a pure soul and I am so protective of her that I will beat the hell out of anyone who tries to hurt my little- but tall- baby.
MASTERLIST & Taglist in bio, my love
The bubble of slumber has barely found Loki when a ripple of scream shreds every ounce of peace this house knows. The silence of the autumn suddenly sounds like a Hallow's Eve blood bath when Loki's body dashes towards the source of the voice. He does not even think for a second, his body already charging itself towards the stone-y path, his son outrunning him on his fours to come to a skidding halt at the foot of her bed. "Kira," he calls out with a contrasting tone compared to the rigorous beating of his heart.
But she does not hear. Her eyes are wide open, looking at the window in her room while her cries wear her lungs out. All she screeches are the words 'no' and 'stop' repeatedly while looking at the empty space. What disturbs Loki, even more, is that she is numb to the blood oozing out from where the needles were once sticking into her are ripping her skin apart. The duvet that covers her is being used as a shield against whatever she is afraid of while the blood smears the fabric with a new hue wherever it comes in touch with it. There is fear in his eyes for what he plans to do, but the fear of watching her writhing in pain like this far outranks it. And so he takes the first lunge by sitting down next to her and slowly taking her trembling hand into his. She yelps and jolts away from his cold touch. "It's me. Kira, look," he calls out to her while switching on the bed lamp close to him, "It's Loki." Her shivering figure cowering away from him takes its time to hear his voice while he patiently waits by the edge. He knows he has to let her come to him. Or he might lose her again. And it would already be one too many times. "Loki?" She has no idea what her frail voice does to that man's being. He can feel an electric current drive from his head to toe and all he can do is sit there nodding his head. "Yes, I'm here." That man has barely finished his sentence to breathe when he feels heated arms being thrown around his torso while her head wants to hide in his chest. "There's someone out there. There's someone out there, Loki." Silence. What is he supposed to feel right now? The otherwordly elation on the touch of her arms, whose heat seeps through the soft cotton and is absorbed by his thirst-ridden skin? Or should he feel sad for the suffering that does not seem to leave her even when she heals? In the swift moment, his rational brain scolds itself for having not having any intelligible actions ready like it usually does; for being useful during the one time it should be working at one hundred per cent capacity. "Please," a whimper comes from his chest, "make it stop." Like a flip of a switch in a cornered animal, Loki's pupils go wide while his arms come around her back with a life of their own. The cold palms hold the sweaty shirt on either side, making a barrier around her. "Come here," he whispers, pulling her closer to him, letting her rest her head in the dip of his shoulder while his body seeks all the unnecessary heat from her untethered figure. "Nothing can hurt you, I promise. Okay? No one can hurt you. I'm here." The wails dilute to sobs under the rhythmic soft pats of Loki's palm on her head in between soothing strokes through her hair. "I'm here." The sobs reduce to loud inhales and exhales, trying to find the resting point of her lungs. The patting continues into the dead of the night when unexpected rain showers wash away whatever bad lurks in the beautiful dark night outside, making her eyelids heavy and her body heavier on Loki's chest. Finding the strength inside him, Loki takes her head in his palm and carefully drags her down the bed to let her head rest on the pillow. The tightened nerves inside him relax when they hear her light snores, convincing him she is finally asleep. It is not easy to drag himself away from that angelic face resting so tranquilly but he puts his foot down on the floor- ready to let her rest- only to find a strong tug on his shirt by her fisted hand, pulling that loosely woven pure threadwork closer towards herself with wrinkles in between her brows. "Kira."  That man is now suddenly a little boy standing outside the study of his father, from where a mellow golden light flows out into a river at the end of which he stands with a unicorn in his tiny hands, his green eyes twinkling with the dance of both shadows and light as he tries to look inside through whatever space the barely open door allows him. Little Loki witnesses his father carry his brother in his arms, telling him stories of kings and princes that conquered lands and brought peace by defeating all evil; narrating his love for the golden boy and boasting to the air in that room how he will be the next man to take care of the empire that his father built for him. Outside, the raven-haired boy stands patiently before turning away to walk through the endless corridors to his room where the nanny is already waiting for him anxiously. "Loki! Where were you? Now is not the time to sneak out." The little one does not bother explaining for he goes straight to bed under his covers, his eyes towards the ceiling to look at the stars put up on there by the servants for his musings. "Mother says stars walk alone," Loki stated out of nowhere for the nanny to hear as she tucks him into the bed, "because they burn bright for everyone. She also says I am a star. A really bright one." "Of course you are," the woman smiles at him while wondering where this talk was coming from. "I don't think she knows that I know stars can burn whatever comes near to them. It is not even practical to be a star without dying a cold death." Margeret has to gasp. "Relax Margeret. It is the work of gases. You would not understand." And saying that, he turns to face the other way. "I don't want to be a star," he mumbles, wishing upon those bogus stars a wish that crumbles with every passing breath in his life till there remains no evidence of these ashes that were ultimately tagged as hollow hopes. Hopes that seem to be reborn without so much as a warning when Loki finds himself lying down next to her and she- without even a conscious effort- pulls herself upon his arm, burying her head in his chest, facing away from the world. A jolt of shiver runs through her body, immediately bringing Loki's arm over her shoulder, overworking his already imbalanced heart. But the calm finds him in her presence just as it finds her in his arms. The night outside, fresh out from nature's bath feels the need to notice its presence not acknowledged by the two souls that used to let their demons roam in her robe. Now, those very souls rest them in each other's arms, devoid of the exhaustion that once haunted them in their loneliness.
"Okay, I'm already putting this out there so no judgments are made later on...I just learned how to drive. You don't get to say how bad I am. If you are scared to sit next to me hold on to your seat. If the car stops in the middle of the road do not rush me, I know I am bad with shifting gears and the accelerator right now. Oh, and at no time will you offer to drive instead. Okay?" Loki's eyes take in your body on alert in the driver's seat of your dad's borrowed Suzuki. You adjust the rearview mirror and look at the controls, mumbling some things to yourself before double-checking the seat belt and starting the engine. He cannot help but stare at your elation with heart eyes when the car starts without any trouble. What churns up the lights inside him is that crazy giggling smile stuck on your face.  "I'm driving a car," you squeak at a really low volume while your neck disappears and your shoulders go up in tender excitement. By the Norns, who made her this cute, he truly has to wonder without realising a goofy smile has invited itself on his lips and has been sitting there even for Heimdall to see outside the gate when you exit. "That good a breakfast, huh?" He teases his boss, who is quick to hide any evidence of joy on his face. Sadly the master strategist and deceiver can't hide it from his eyes. "Did you get all the work done," Loki does not even move his brow when talking to the Watcher. "I had a nice breakfast too, thanks for asking," he is quick to acknowledge that cold stare, "and yes it's done. So, where are you guys headed?" You scoff, raising your hands from the steering wheel. "At least act surprised to see me driving even if you know it already." Heimdall chuckles. "I'm taking Loki to show around my town. Wanna c-" "Oh good, Lord!" Loki blurts out of nowhere, making you jump where you sit, "turn the car, Kira! There's a cat about to walk under it!" "What?" "Turn it out of the driveway!" "But-" "Let's go! Before it tries to climb the wheel!" You are hastily shifting the gear to drive. "They do that?" "Now! Now!"
This is his first time. And he still cannot believe it is happening. Well, shame on me for thinking only Odin had the finest colonial lands. Trees line up both sides of the roads that are cleaner than the supposedly progressive concrete jungle that you two left behind for a while. The patience all the drivers have on the road with their cars in a smooth drive is really impressing the man, besides putting him at ease considering his heart has taken the wheel. There are people out and about on the sidewalks. And there are people exploiting the cycling tracks to get their blood pumping in this cold weather. Kindergarten kids, school kids, college kids- there are clusters of them coming and going; some sad to leave their parents, while others are running and skipping towards theirs. This city is coloured in every hue imaginable even in the coldest of days. And unlike the iron world, he sits atop, this one seems like it takes out time to look around. The car is parked in a spot right outside a local city museum and unlike you, someone notices the line of expensive rides next to yours while their owners are huddled together over one with beer cans and cigarettes. Every one of the five men standing on the other corner wear brands that equal your one month's salary. "Let's start with this place," you bring Loki out of the calculating trance he is in since the second he laid eyes on the men that has been staring this way, "so we can get out and enjoy something much better if you get bored of this place." Loki smiles at you and makes it a point to walk towards your side to place his hand on your back, mellifluously ask, "shall we?" and walk away with you with the energy that marks the five feet around you as a zone not to be stepped in.
Well, it is hard to get bored of your face no matter how long he looks at it because he is certain he has memorised every little scar on it till he watches you fascinated by the medieval art displays. Your eyes have the deepest ocean of y/e/c ever seen that goes shallow for that black endless void that widens on seeing something that curates to its curiosity. Your lips. Damn those lips that have been blessed by the Gods themselves. They turn and pout in question, are tormented by the teeth when something does not sit right and are touch in a peculiar fashion by your fingers that Loki forgets he has to breathe at one point. He envies the fallen eyelash that sits on your cheek; envies that it gets to touch you and be prayed upon for a wish or desire while he stands to praise nature's work from a distance. But he does not let that bother him for he cannot recall any other time when he has been this content with his life.
"Point at anything in here and you will love it." "Really?" "Mm-hmm. They are really good at everything they make." "Oh...that's-wait. Is this the place that serves that pasta you keep comparing to everyone else's?" Your face is already breaking into the smile and Loki's heart cannot help but whisper 'stop' while running a marathon. "Yup." "Okay, so I'll have a-" "Kira?" Loki turns around before you to see who recognizes you and if it is a threat. "Henry?" The marathon comes to a pause for there is a little prick that is felt right in the chest. You recognise this man with a decent scruff, wide eyes and a bubbly smile. He has already been read head to toe by Loki. He does not seem like a threat. "Hey!" greets Henry before swooping you in his arms and giving one tight hug which leads to your alleged date to grind his teeth. How dare he. "How are you?" "I'm good. What about you?" You don't have to ask him that. He looks fine for someone who just got up from his sleep and drove here. "Fantastic now that we meet." Right. As if you were miserable before. "Where are you these days?! I've met CJ and Kat but never you." "She's with me," Loki declares. And that is when you notice the shift in the energy around you. "Henry, this is my boss, Loki. Loki, this is my school friend, Henry." You watch as Henry brings his hand forward for Loki. "Nice to meet you, man." Loki reciprocates but you can tell by that sharp cut of his jaw that something bothers him even though he isn't being vocal about it like he usually is. "Wait-" Henry's narrowed eyes are already telling Loki something he is tired of hearing- "Loki as in Loki the guy from Sun Corp. The Loki who went missing for two years before-" "So I heard from Kat you're opening a rest-" you try to divert the conversation. "Yes," Loki affirms much to your surprise, "that very Loki." And a smile. "Damn," Henry whispers. "Well, I'll leave you to it then. And you two are invited to my restaurant's soft launch today. Kat will give you the deets and you have to bring Loki." "Oh." You are a little dazed by the incomprehensible smoothness of this conversation. "Uhh..." You feel the brush of Loki's arm with yours when he closes the distance with the two of you. "We will be there," he concludes with his smiling eyes while you are wondering all the reasons you could be feeling this sudden gush of warmth in your cheeks. Nothing escapes Henry's eyes and that bubbly smile. You two have never been close which is why you are wondering why this guy is so excited to meet you. It hits you after a few seconds that the reason you were noticed might not have been because of you but your company. You are still thinking about it when you and Loki settle down in the corner seat looking out the bakery shop. "You don't have to go if you don't want to," you stress, reaching out for the bill in Loki's hand that he has already paid for. But that sly man is already pulling the receipt away from your grip. "I'll go if you go. And considering you are a textbook people-pleaser around your friends, you will be going tonight." All he reflects for your slightly unhinged and offended jaw is his smirk that has a tendency to stir something up inside your gut. "Correct me if I'm wrong." "I am not a textbook people plea-" "You went out to visit Kat even when your leg wasn't healed because she said you had not met her in a while." You scoff. "W-It was true! I hadn't met her in a while and I-" "And because CJ said she was mad at you because you hadn't answered her texts and calls." You do open your mouth to contradict but nothing comes out except a defeated sigh. "You could have told her about your health." Loki tilts his head and melting eyes that have their full attention on you. And you are feeling the goosebumps all over your body from that dedicated stare. Did he always look at me that way? The sensible voice in your head clears her throat and wonders...He could look that way to anyone. But your inner voice is already dancing. Look at the face, woman. Drown me in shallow waters if he isn't head over heels for you. "I...have used my health as an excuse for multiple occasions so I don't think it'll cut for them anymore." There is a slight crinkle in between his brows that does not seem to get as much attention as his tongue that darts out to wet his lips. Why is that even legal? Your inner voice is angry while it involuntarily purrs. "It is your health, Kira. I am pretty sure your friend will understand. Would you not rather that your friends tell you they are not fine instead of hearing about it when it all gets worse someday?" You turn your toes to internally curse yourself on realising he has a point; a very good one. "I'll talk to her," you agree and thank the waiter who brings you your lemon and mint iced tea and Loki's cold brew. "Okay," you sing with crackling judgment humming in your voice as your eyes are stuck on Loki's dark drink, "since when are you into coffee? I haven't been gone that long." "My existence will disagree," he mutters without so much of a thought as he lets his lips touch the straw in great anticipation while his eyes look up at the blank bump of an expression stuck on your face.  Heart thumping to the beats of embarrassment, your brain shuts down, pulls away the glass of cold brew and pushes your iced tea towards him. "Just have the tea, you monster." You try really hard to keep up that frown on your face while your insides want to come out and confirm the words he just said. "Me? A monster?" If you did not know any better, Loki would seem flabbergasted right this second. You narrow your eyes and let sarcasm drip just from your expression. "I have seen you murder your employees without even having to raise a weapon when you aren't in a good mood. Trust your assistant, Mr Loki, coffee is not your friend." "Are you sure?" He narrows his eyes at you and crinkles his nose. "Do you see anyone else being worried about you?" you direct at the surrounding with your hand. There is a tilt of his head and crossed arms come to rest on the table. "So, you are worried about me?" Your eyes pause any movement to stare into his for a moment so long he can feel his soul bare in front of you. "Someone has to..." He is left numb with that look on your face. "Because I am too tired to find another job." Numb from the heart attack he just had till he feels his senses coming back to let him wack in the back of his head and let him know how he got played. What is better than those microscopic jolts of relief he is feeling on your skin is your wide-toothed laughter then nearly pinches your eyes close. Whoever is watching him right now can without a strain of doubt point out at the man in love, looking at his life shine brighter than anyone in the room while he pauses all that he is doing- even breathing- to look at you like it is his first and last time doing so. Whoever is watching him is suddenly craving for a longing look like that; whoever is watching you envies what you can do to that beautiful man putting a good number of insecure humans to shame. "Oh my Gosh-" you suddenly break out of your laugh with a sudden realisation- "I almost forgot about him." Loki, the stoic-as-ever man- who is nearly bending over the table ready to dissolve- furrows his brows at the thought of you remembering someone other than him! "Who?" he asks with a surly taste in his mouth. "Fenrir! How is he?" "Oh." You are somewhat puzzled at that flawless face going from a simmering stare of potential judgment to an innocuous reflection of understanding. "He is as fine as he can be," he shrugs and scratches something on the nape of his neck, making your eyes dart at the bit of exposed skin under the maroon that is royally screwing up with your head with pictures you do not want to be imagining in public right now. "So, he is being a bitch," you summarise for him. He nods in agreement, bringing back his hand and leaving that exposed microscopic yards of his shoulder and neck to be devoured by your stare so hard even the devil would blush. And unbeknownst to you, the devil hath blushed multiple times. "I think he misses his roommate," Loki throws the statement nonchalantly, pulling your iced-tea back to him. "Aw," you squeak a little putting your face in your palms and glittering eyes, "I miss him too." "Then get back to work, Miss Kira," Loki's flat and stern tone softly plays on his tongue, "you have had more than enough of vacation time." "Excuse me?" "What." "I got my bones broken for my company." Loki shrugs and sips your tea. "I nearly died for mine. Big deal." "Wow," you exhale. "Fine. I need a raise." "Okay." "..." "What."
"Just like that?" "You nearly died for the company. The company wants to thank you for your unwavering loyalty." You don't really know what to say next. You never planned this far, thanks to your impulse. That is till the socialist in you finds a silver lining. "Cool," you tilt your head in your palms, "then you can cut my salary for a few more vacation days." Concluding it with a wink. And Loki feels his insides sigh. Never in a million years could he have imagined a soft face like hers would hold the ultimate power to melt his insides like this.
Nature watches again. Through the windows and winds that enter at the opening and closing of the door. Two souls more than just content in their hearts to be in the presence of the unexplainable they thought they lacked. That little boy inside Loki is sitting at that table looking at you with all the innocence and love he can feel in his little heart; all that he wants to give to you. Little Loki knows who the star is and what it is like to be in its presence. And he would not have it any other way. The bakery plays a lofi mix of Just Want To Be The One You Love as these two closeted lovers bickered and enjoyed their much deserved time together, never knowing the company far away clicking pictures of their private time together before disappearing into the crowds and cars on the road outside.

A/N: Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Loki, Happy Birthday to you! Let’s wish our favourite Trickster all the best! ♥ Requests from @hanzimmer and anon.
Words: 2422 Warnings: so much fluff, Asgardian!Reader
Midgard wasn’t so bad after all. You hadn’t been so sure—after all, you had heard the stories. Pollution of all kind, wars over silly things like religion and food drenched in unsaturated fats. You wrinkled your nose, hoping that Thor had organised some proper snacks for his Yule… no, you corrected yourself, his Christmas party.
He had invited his closest friends from Asgard—Heimdall, Sif, Volstagg, Hogun, Fandral and you. Heimdall was the only one who, for obvious reasons, had been unable to attend. So here you were now, walking towards this huge building they called Stark Tower. You were familiar. Loki had used it to open a portal to lead an alien army to New York City.
You smiled at the thought of meeting Loki again despite of what he had done. Odin had sentenced him to remain among the mortals for a few centuries to come, serving and aiding them if need be, as an “Avenger”. You had not seen him since the day he had let himself fall into the void beneath the Bifrost, believed him dead and mourned and cried your oldest and most dearest childhood friend… and had rejoiced and hurt all at the same time when he returned and wreaked havoc on Earth.
He must have changed so much—but not enough for you to stop loving him. He had no idea, of course. You had been friends for as long as you could remember and Thor had always been around too. He had loved occupying your attention by bragging with his berserker skills wielding his hammer and creating thunder and lightning.
You suppressed a giggle. Loki and you had often sneaked off together after supper, stealing some fancy dessert and hiding somewhere in the castle so you could chat in peace. How often had you wished Loki would dare a chaste kiss then?
Looking back at it today, it made you wonder if Thor had purposely tried to keep you away from his adoptive brother. Come to think of it, he had always attempted to find a way to embarrass Loki one way or another, and often with the help of his friends who were currently walking right next to you, a little confused about the elevator technology in this realm.
When the metal doors opened again with a pling, you were not disappointed. Thor had decorated the spacious living area with all the Christmas decorations Earth had to offer. There were tinsel and baubles and other ornaments, nutcrackers and fake icicles and snow, sparkling Christmas trees, countless holiday lights blinking away, candy canes, gingerbreads and a massive Santa Clause statue.
“My friends! I’m so glad you could make it!”
The other people in the room you knew from Thor’s stories whenever he returned to Asgard to see if everything is alright. You recognised Captain America instantly due to the muscles and Hawkeye and Black Widow. The two men remaining must have been Tony Stark and the scientist who turned green when he was angry. The person you were interested in the most, however, was the god dressed in green and black next to Thor.
Your face lit up when you spotted Loki and his lips parted barely noticeably in response. You greeted Thor with a brief hug but never took your eyes off of him. Then, for a second, you took in his appearance, admiring how much more grown he looked… how much more mature and experienced. His innocence, so you realised, had vanished from his aura like damp fog in a forest.
You shivered when he spoke your name. “Good to see you.” You weren’t quite sure what he had expected from you but apparently not that you would throw yourself into his arms, pressing yourself against him as if he were a piece of wood in midst of a roaring sea.
“How are you doing, you silly Trickster?” You muttered once you managed to let go of him again, almost complaining when his hands left your body.
His smile was faint but honest, albeit there was still confusion sparkling in his eyes.
“I didn’t think you would be glad to see me.” He admitted instead of responding.
“W-why wouldn’t I be? Loki, I haven’t seen you in years. I thought I had lost you. Did Thor not tell you how the guards almost threw me in prison because they wouldn’t let me see you after New York?”
He frowned. “Not a word.”
“I almost stabbed them… I missed you.”
Loki had no chance to reply this time. Volstagg scattered forth towards the buffet, forcing you to step aside and indicating Thor must have finally started the festivities. You had barely risked a look at the buffet yourself yet but the selection of cookies, cakes and sandwiches looked indeed very promising.
The Warriors Three and Sif made sure to ignore Loki as best as they could—they had nothing to say to him anymore, after all and just like back in the old days, Thor made no move to change that. So while he was introducing them to some Midgardian Christmas traditions, you stepped aside with the fizzy drink he had handed you, quietly talking to Loki.
“Loki!” Volstagg suddenly called out, followed by a chuckle by Fandral. “You need a refill.”
You covered your own glass when they poured the same pinkish liquid (Thor had said it was ‘cotton candy liqueur’) into Loki’s who watched the scene with utter dismay. You could see Thor grinning from the corners of your eye and even Hogun was cracking a smile—Sif only rolled her eyes and one of the mortal men you did not know and had not yet made any effort to get introduced to, pressed his lips together so he would not burst out laughing. Idiots. Just leave him alone for once, will you?
“Who is who?” You asked once they had turned away again. “I recognise the redhead and the archer, and Captain America, what about the others?”
“Stark is the man to the left.” Loki said, downing almost the entire drink at once. Alcohol was supposed to numb unease, after all.
“The one with the beard?” The one who had failed to show his amusement when Volstagg clearly made Loki uncomfortable, you added mutely.
“Yes. The other is Bruce Banner.”
“The Hulk.” He nodded.
“How are they… treating you here?”
Loki snorted. “After what I have done? They seem to have forgotten I was the reason they assembled in the first place, not, however, that it was I who attempted to subjugate the planet.”
You glanced at him for a moment. “What happened, Loki? You were never like that. You never wanted a throne, you merely wanted your father to treat you and Thor as equals. Why Midgard?” Loki’s expression was pained, yet at the same time, relief flooded him. No, you were right—he had never been like that. Thor had still not realised that but here you were, his oldest friend whom he had secretly been in love with for decades, realising in a mere second that there was going on with him.
“Not here.” He shook his head slightly, making you frown. Something was up, you could tell. Something weighed heavy on his mind, tearing him down. You sighed. It was nothing new that besides Frigga before her death, no one but you ever truly bothered to listen to what Loki had to say. It had never been as important as what Thor had had to say.
Not here, he had said. Well then for now, all you could do was cheer him up a little. “What cake is that?”
Loki raised his eyebrows, irritated by the sudden change of topic. “Thor said something about marshmallows.”
“What are marshmallows?” He shrugged. “It looks really good though…” You said, a devilish grin forming on your lips. “What do you think? Let us grab that cake and get out of here?” Just like in the old times?
Loki smiled—it suited him, being this blithe. You wondered when he had last had the chance to be like that. Sneakily, you reached for some white forks (they were very light, a very cheap material, apparently) all the while Loki yoinked the cake. You made sure no one would notice before you followed him out of the vast room and took the elevator to another level where it was so quiet one could have heard a needle drop.
“Where exactly are we going?”
“My room,” he answered. “I am quite surprised they gave me one to be truly honest.”
But very apparently, their generosity had been kept within limits. Compared to his chambers back on Asgard, Loki’s room here on Midgard was pathetically small. A single bed and a desk along with a wardrobe and a tiny bedside table were the only items of furniture and to be quite frank, the room resembled a prison cell more than a proper accommodation. Unlike the rest of the Tower, there was not a single piece of Christmas decoration in here. You were almost disappointed. Surely, Loki would adore some green and gold tinsel as well. You wondered if Thor had even bothered to ask if he wanted any.
You didn’t need his permission to sit on his bed, you had never needed it back on Asgard either. Loki and you were so close you sometimes wondered why he had never tried to take you with him on his conquest. You wouldn’t have minded to be the queen of evil if only that meant you could be with him…
Loki sat down next to you, setting both your glasses aside. You grinned when you handed him a fork and you both dug into the marshmallow cake as if it was going to be your last meal.
“Oh…” You mused. “It really is good.”
“Hmm…” He confirmed.
You giggled. “I’m glad you didn’t lose your sweet tooth.”
Your heart jumped when Loki winked at you, his mouth still full of cake. You had already transformed the pretty and edible creation into an utter crumbly mess but then again, who needed those paper plates these mortals used as dishes, regardless of the cute snowmen and snowflakes on them?
“It was not the same without you, you know.” You said then.
“I bet Thor kept you occupied.”
You shook your head, the both of you still munching away.
“We barely spoke after your death, I mean… after we thought you had died… to be truly honest, I think I only tolerated Thor because he is your brother.”
Loki tilted his head. “One might think it was the other way around.”
“Yeah… that’s probably what he is telling his mortal friends right now. I meant it, Loki. I really missed you. I was heartbroken when they told me you had flung yourself down the Bifrost…”
“And then?” He interrupted. “Were you repulsed when you learned about what I did here on Midgard?”
You shook your head. “I was worried for you. You were always on my mind. Did you… Did you ever think about me?”
“Well, of course I have, I love you.” He blurted out, only to close his mouth in utter shock the fraction of a second after.
You nearly choked on the cake. “W-what did you just say?”
“N-nothing, I… I said I have been in love with you unconditionally for centuries.” Loki bit his tongue, his eyes widening. You had positively never heard him stutter before. What he was saying was true, there was no mischievous sparkle in his blue eyes, but even though your heart leaped at the thought of him reciprocating your romantic feelings, your first instinct was to figure out what had made him spill the truth like that.
Unceremoniously, you reached for his pinkish drink and gave it a smell. Yours smelled different, without a doubt.
“Oh, Loki… they’ve spiked your drink with a truth potion I believe.”
“They did what?”
“That… that must be why they snickered so much upon refilling your glass, my love. I’m glad we left, I bet they were waiting for you to make a fool of yourself.”
Loki scoffed. “Well… I did that now anyway, did I not? Perhaps you should leave, I—”
You only smiled. “I love you too, Loki.” You said, making him look up in utter surprise. The cake between you on the bed was now entirely forgotten. You brushed it aside, not caring whether the icing would stain his bed sheets.
“What?” He breathed as you crawled towards him and made yourself comfortable on his lap, feeling confident now that he had admitted his feelings for you.
And as you wrapped your hands around his neck, you smiled, touching his forehead with yours.
“Nothing you do could ever stop me from loving you, Loki. If Thor had not thrown this stupid Midgardian Yule party… I might have never seen you again.”
Loki took a deep breath. “I think I understand now what Thor meant by ‘Christmas miracles’…” He uttered in response, his lips only inches from yours. Laughing quietly, you closed the small distance between you and pressed your lips against his. It was a chaste kiss—to test the waters, get used to how it would feel and, much like you had anticipated, it stole your breath away.
“Let us leave together.” Loki suggested hoarsely when you broke apart again, his breath ghosting over your lips.
“How? Odin sentenced you to be here, with Thor. He would know—and Thor and his Avengers would come after you.”
“Oh, they will not.” He retorted, a mischievous smirk growing on his lips.
“Loki? What have you been up to again?”
“I have the Tesseract.” He revealed smugly.
“You… what? How?!”
“Shhh… keep your voice down, sweetling.”
“I’m sorry… how? It’s supposed to be on Asgard, locked in the king’s treasure chamber.”
“Well, it was. Until I took it. We could go anywhere. They will never be able to trace us.”
You bit your lower lip, excitement rushing through you. Life on Asgard was dull without Loki and you certainly did not desire to stay here on Midgard with those mortals and their strange traditions and customs. Loki’s proposal was a dream come true, at long last.
“Then let us do it.” You beamed, making him smile. “But first… we finish that cake. Leave them a goodbye present.”
Loki laughed—and you did not move off his lap again until the very last crumb of the marshmallow cake was gone.

Predator to Prey, Chapter 23
‘GUARDS!’ Odin boomed.
Guards burst in through the doors and ran straight towards Akelia.
‘NO!’ Loki yelled.
Akelia started running away, but the guards were quickly closing in on her. Loki fired his Seidr in her direction and she turned into her wolf.
She tore into some of the guards, sending them flying and tearing some limbs off. Loki ran as fast as he could over to her, just as Odin aimed gungnir at the wolf. But before the blast could hit her, Loki used his cape as a shield and leaped on front of Akelia, protecting them both from the blast.
‘Hold on.’ Loki said in a panic as he put his arm around Akelia and teleported them both out of there.
Akelia was a bit wobbly from the teleporting, but she soon came to her senses again. Loki had taken them out into the mountains for safety in the meantime.
‘We don’t have long before they find us. Odin will be sending soldiers out in their droves to find us.’ He said, worried.
Looking at Akelia, who looked really sad, he held her face and leaned in, pressing his head against hers. ‘I won’t let them hurt you, love.’ He whispered.
She grumbled low in response and nuzzled his chin with her wet nose.
‘We need to get out of here.’ Loki sighed, standing up and looking around. ‘I’ve got an idea.’
Before he did anything else though, he turned her into her human form. He then took off her collar and tossed it over the edge of the cliff.
‘I’m sorry, Akelia.’ Loki gathered her hands into his and he brought them up to his lips. ‘I never should’ve forced you to live here, to supress who you are. Please, forgive me.’ He whispered, closing his eyes.
‘It’s not your fault, Loki… It’s mine… I know, I know that I have issues. I’m so sorry.’ She said sadly.
Loki opened his eyes and looked into hers. He smiled and cupped her cheek, she smiled too and leaned into his touch.
But they both jumped when there was a loud rumble of thunder and suddenly Thor landed a few feet away from them with a bolt of lightning. Loki snarled and moved Akelia behind him, turning her back into her wolf form, protecting her.
Though to his surprise, Thor put Mjolnir down and he put his hands up in defence. He looked from Loki to Akelia.
‘I am not here to hurt you.’ He said gently, even with Akelia snarling at him. ‘I want to help, both of you. I don’t understand your relationship, brother. But I do know that you love one another and I believe that you both need each other. I feel that father has set you both up to fail, not allowing you to stay on Midgard or to move up here in isolation.’
Loki narrowed his eyes, unsure about whether he was being genuine or not.
‘Father has sent the entire army out to get you. I will hold them off for as long as I possibly can. Brother, I know you know where there are gateways to other realms. Travel as far as you can, get as far away from here as possible. And take this.’ Thor reached into his pocket and pulled out a bag full of gold.
He handed it to Loki. Akelia wasn’t growling as much anymore, realising that Thor was actually helping them. He had surprised her. Loki was surprised too, for once not really knowing what to say.
‘I… Thank you, brother.’ Loki gave Thor a genuine smile, making Thor’s smile even larger.
‘You better go, quickly.’ Thor urged and Loki nodded.
‘Come on, Akelia.’ Loki said and motioned for her to go with him.
But Akelia took a step towards Thor, he eyed her warily, not sure of what she was going to do. But to his surprise, she put her paw outwards and bowed to him in thanks. Then she turned and ran away with Loki through the mountains.
Thor felt a little sad as he watched them leave. Knowing it would likely be the last time he ever saw his brother. But he also felt like he was doing the right thing.
Upon hearing horse’s hooves pounding the ground as the army started coming up the mountain, he turned and mustered up as much lightning as he possible could, his eyes glowing bright as he picked Mjolnir up and prepared to fight the army off.
-
Loki and Akelia ran as fast as they could down the other side of the mountain. Loki seemed to know where he was going, so Akelia just followed close behind him.
When they got near the bottom there was a cave in the side of the mountain, Loki ran in there and he checked that Akelia was still right behind him.
He stopped for a moment, halfway into the cave.
‘Just keep running straight ahead, ok? Trust me.’ Loki said and patted her head.
She nodded. But then watched as Loki ran straight to the back of the cave and headfirst into the wall. Her heart almost stopped in fear. But he just… disappeared.
Akelia was so confused. But then in panic at where he had gone, she bolted to the back of the cave and closed her eyes as she ran into the wall, too. Hoping whatever had just happened to Loki would happen to her too.
And it did.
She came out the other side and was stunned as she skidded to a halt next to Loki. They were in a cave still, but outside was snow and ice.
They were on Jotunheim.
‘Stay in your wolf form so you don’t get cold, love. There’s a shack not far from here, we can take cover in there till tomorrow.’ Loki turned into his Jotun form and had his Asgardian armour disappear, to blend in, just in-case they were seen by other Jotuns.
Akelia followed Loki through the deep snow, she kept stopping every now and then to shake the snow off her fur as it was snowing heavily. And she hated the cold. So this was one of the worst places in the universe for her.
Luckily the shack that Loki had in mind wasn’t too far away. It took Loki a minute to get the door open because of how much snow had built up around it, blocking the door. As soon as they got inside, Akelia felt a tiny bit better. But it was still freezing cold, she could see her breath in the air.
Loki went to the fireplace and using his Seidr he had it light up. He then turned back into his Asgardian form and he turned Akelia into her human one, with plenty of warm clothes.
Though she was still cold. Her teeth chattered as she wrapped her arms around herself and rushed to kneel down on front of the fire.
‘It will take a little while for the place to heat up. It’s only for tonight.’ Loki pulled a cover off an old sofa, it was a bit dusty but he sat down anyway. ‘Come here, pet.’ He patted his thigh.
Akelia reluctantly pulled herself away from the warmth of the fire and she climbed onto his lap. He took his cape and wrapped it around her, then held her closely.
‘I’m sorry.’ She said quietly, playing with the hem of his cape.
Loki frowned and took her hand. ‘What for?’
‘For everything… If it wasn’t for me, you’d likely be Prince of Asgard again. Living happily with your family. Just because I couldn’t have a family, it doesn’t mean I should’ve ruined your life too. Thor obviously loves you as a brother, I’ve taken that away from you.’
‘Hey, hey, hey. Don’t say that, Akelia.’ Loki cupped her chin and turned her face towards him. ‘I love you. More than anyone else. You are the only one that truly matters to me. Odin set me up to fail, both of us, and I feel that Frigga wasn’t entirely opposed to his plans either.’
‘But how can you love me?’ Akelia asked quietly, her eyes watering. ‘I can’t… I can’t control myself with you. I hate the thought of someone else touching you, of just being close. I don’t mean to be jealous like this.’ She cried.
Loki wiped her tears away and slid his hand to the back of her head, holding her steady as he leaned in and kissed her forehead.
‘I know you don’t, sweetheart. But it’s just who you are. I suspect the wolf side of you, being so protective. But it doesn’t matter, because I love you for you. And I am not going anywhere without you right at my side. Do you understand?’ He said firmly.
Akelia swallowed hard and nodded. Loki smiled and wrapped his arms tightly around her, pulling her into him again.
‘We will keep jumping realms until we find the right place to settle down. Just the two of us. I promise.’ He whispered, resting his chin on top of her head.
Akelia felt her heart soar with happiness and love. Knowing he was being truthful.
-
‘Where are they?’ Odin demanded, glaring at Thor.
‘As I told the guards, father. They both jumped off the side of the cliff. There is no way they could have survived that fall, it was too high and you know how jagged the rocks at the bottom are.’ Thor said, trying to sound as sad as possible, he even managed to get his eyes to water.
Odin frowned, but didn’t look too heartbroken at the thought of Loki being dead. But Frigga did. She let out a whimper and had to leave the room, unable to hear anymore.
‘Is this true?’ Odin looked to Heimdall, who was just at the side, viewing what was going on.
Thor looked at Heimdall and caught his eye briefly, pleading silently with him. Heimdall knew that lying to the Allfather was punishable by banishment. But he had seen how happy Loki and Akelia were on Midgard, he knew they could be like that again and he genuinely didn’t see them as a threat to any realm if they were left in peace…
‘It is true, My Lord.’ He nodded once.
Odin sighed, but took the word of The Gatekeeper.
‘Very well.’ Odin was satisfied that the threat to his realm was no more.
Thor watched his father closely, not seeing even an ounce of remorse or heartbreak. He knew he had made the right decision helping Loki and Akelia get away safely.
He just hoped they could get their happily ever after.
