indefinite hiatus.
so, as much as I really hate to say it, I think I and anyone who’s been following along with this blog for the last year or two could tell this has been kind of a long time coming.
Basically, the gist is that I don’t know if I’m having fun running an ask blog anymore. I genuinely do love writing these characters, and I want nothing more than to keep working on this story and helping it grow and develop. But lately, I’ve been struggling massively with actually getting the motivation required to work on it.
It’s become a pattern; I get motivated for a few weeks, drop some updates that are more than just static talk sprites and text, and then disappear for months more before it all starts again. I feel bad and guilty every time I disappear, especially for no reason, but I just can’t get myself to work on what I need to do next. It doesn’t help that I’ve gotten progressively more busy as time goes on, too.
That’s another thing. I started this blog when I was thirteen, you guys! Next summer I’m gonna be getting ready for college! There are so many things I wrote back at the start that I wish I did differently, good lord. But that’s besides the point, which is that in the four years I’ve been working on this, only about a week and three days have actually passed in canon. Considering how long I plan for the full thing to be, thats..........a little demotivating, yeah
But enough with my list of grievances! I want to say now that this does not mean this story is being put to bed. I want to keep working on it! I want to tell the damn story I’ve been writing for four damn years!!!! I’ll abandon it when I’m in my thirties!!!!!!!!!
Lately, I’ve been playing with the idea of fully moving away from the ask blog format and converting it into a more traditional fanfic. This would come with its own challenges, being that I would have to almost completely rework the first two arcs, but. Writing’s always come a bit faster to me, somehow.
I haven’t decided on anything yet, though. Maybe I’ll try the ask blog format a bit longer. I love interacting with you guys, after all, and I love seeing what weird shit you decide to say to my skeletons! But for right now, I just need to take an actual, intended break, guilt-free, just to figure out exactly what I want to do. I’m also gonna start a separate fic for Karma’s backstory sometime soon, so maybe that’ll help clear up some of the weirdness in my brain. Who knows! I don’t!
But anyway this is long as hell and y’all get the point by now, so I’m just gonna say, thank you all so, so much for sticking along with me for as long as you have. I hope that I can find a way to continue that’s satisfactory for everyone, and I hope that one day, we can all see it to its end.

Chapter One - Last Copy
Hyunjin x Fem!Reader
Genre: Fluff, the kind that makes you blush a little.
Word Count: 1,433
A/N: Hyunjin's airport outfit got me thinking so I just wrote this cute little thing real quick! I'm thinking about making it another mini series so let me know if you want a part two! I'm putting way too much on my plate but I can't help it 😭
Summary: You meet a cute stranger at your favorite bookstore cafe.
Part Two
✧Poetry Series Masterlist✧ ✧Main Masterlist✧
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You browsed the shelves for your favorite poet's new release. You were determined to buy it in both paperback and hardcover before it went flying off the shelves. You skim the spines of the many books searching for the poet’s name when you finally come across it. A wide smile paints your face as you reach for the final hardcover copy, that smile quickly drops when your hand collides with one of a stranger next to you. You must've been so focused that you hadn't noticed him.
"Pardon me." He apologizes softly, slightly bowing his head towards you.
"No no, it's alright. I should've been paying attention." The two of you stand there glancing between each other and the book for a second too long before he breaks the silence.
"You reached for it three seconds before me so you should have it." The tall man grins down at you as he picks up the book and holds it out to you. "I can always get it online. "
"Oh no, it's fine! I can just buy the paperback." You give him a kind grin and his lips pull into a thin line.
"Well then you really should take this then because I just picked up the last paperback." A quiet chuckle leaves his lips as he holds it up momentarily for you to see. You can't help but smile and giggle a bit as you push a strand of hair behind your ear.
"Ah, okay, well in that case how could I turn down a hard cover of my favorite poet?" You take the book from him and start to study it immediately. You sigh happily as you run your fingers over the cover, taking in every detail. "I love their book design. Every single one is so unique and fresh, it really reflects their work perfectly."
"I agree, I think that the use of abstract art on the cover is a beautiful touch." You smile up at him again and this time you take a moment to study his features. His jet black hair is in a half up half down style and his circle lens glasses compliment his shining eyes perfectly. Not to mention his pink lips and structured jaw which are the icing on a very handsome cake. You take in his black sweater and matching black pants, his style is very attractive and from the looks of his Versace necklace very expensive.
"I think so too, it's one of the things that drew me to them." He grins down at you and shakes his head slightly. He tilts his head to the side a bit before letting the tip of his tongue dip out of his mouth and skate across his bottom lip. You notice his eyes wandering over your frame and for some reason the action is welcomed by you. You don't feel uncomfortable in the slightest. He catches himself staring and suddenly holds his hand out to you.
"I'm Hyunjin by the way." You blush slightly as you grin up at him.
"Y/n" He smiles at your name and you can't help but to look down at your feet for a second. Your hands stay together in a handshake for a few seconds too long before you let go.
"Well, Y/n, uh I was actually about to sit at the Cafe up front and get started on this book... Would you maybe want to sit with me? We can share our thoughts on it. That is if you aren't busy or anything." He pulls his lips into a thin line and the tips of his ears turn a bit red as his nerves start to get to him. You smile blushing a bit yourself.
"I um.. I actually think that I'd like that a lot." He smiles as he pushes up his glasses and looks away towards the bookshelf for a second, most likely to stop himself from smiling like an idiot, not like it matters though, at this point the blush covering both of your cheeks is a dead give away to your excitement.
"Great, after you." You shake your head and turn on your heels leading the way over to the Cafe where the two of you stare at the menu. "I don't know why I'm even looking, I get the same thing every time."
You chuckle as your eyes land on exactly what you'd like. "What's that?"
"An iced americano and a white cream latte." You furrow your brows towards him curiously.
"Two coffees?" He blushes a bit, bringing his hand to the back of his neck and scratching softly
"I may have a caffeine problem." He chuckles a bit and you follow suit. "What would you like? It's on me."
"Oh no, you don't have to."
"I insist." He smiles down at you with bright and excited eyes and you feel yourself melt a bit.
"I suppose I can't turn down free refreshments" You step forward towards the cashier and start your order, once you're done Hyunjin adds his items and he reaches into his pocket to pull out his Versace wallet. Who exactly is this guy? He has very expensive taste. You watch as he skims the many cards in his wallet and your face heats up a bit when he pulls out a black card. Okay, no really who is this guy?
"Wanna find us a table?" He asks as he stuffs his wallet back into his pocket. You nod in agreement and quickly retreat to your favorite table in the back corner of the cafe. You get comfortable, crossing your legs indian style and leaning back against the plush booth. You take your phone out of your purse to briefly check your messages but before you could reply to anyone Hyunjin approaches with a tray full of refreshments.
"Here we go." He sits across from you, serving you your items from the tray.
"Thank you very much." You smile as you take your mug and bring it up to your lips briefly, taking a sip. You smile to yourself as you let the warmth of your drink surge through you.
"So, Y/n, do you come here often?" Hyunjin asks as he sips his Americano and you can't help but to chuckle
"Really? You used that line?" He grins slightly but it quickly turns into a smile and a quiet embarrassed laugh as his fingers caress the skin of his neck.
"I'm sorry, I guess I’m a little rusty. I honestly don't talk to alluring women such as yourself often..I'm usually quite reserved? Kind of the shy type socially.”
You smile and you can feel a blush creeping up on your cheeks. " I could say the same.. I don't talk to alluring men very often. I only read about them."
Hyunjin smiles, his fingers interlacing as he brings them up towards his face and leans in towards you. "Call me crazy but I have a feeling that you'll be more interesting than any book I've ever read."
Okay, you're definitely blushing now. "Yeah? I think I could say the same about you."
Hyunjin looks down at his lap with a wide smile, He licks his lips before grabbing his coffee and takes a long sip before looking back up at you with flushed cheeks.
"So, do you come here often? Because if you do I will too." You tilt your head to the side slightly with a curious eyebrow raised.
"Is that right?"
"I wouldn't lie to you." He mimics your curious demeanor.
"I come here at least once a week." He shakes his head as he picks up his drink.
"Looks like I need to change my schedule." You smile as you take a piece of the cinnamon roll that you ordered with your tea.
"Looks like you do." You both hold a smile as your eyes search each other's.
"So... this book, how about I read it to you?"
"You want to read me poetry?" He nods confidently as he reaches for your copy of the book. "You just want to touch the hardcover."
"That is true, you caught me" a playful smile pulls at his lips and you smile back, crossing your arms as you lean forward and rest your elbows on the table.
"Hm, fine but if you damage it you owe me a new copy."
"Deal." He smiles as he opens the book and you watch as his long slim fingers flip through the pages. "Alright, ready?"
You pick up your mug and take a sip before grinning and smiling towards him.
"Ready"

Alexis speaks! : hey guys! thank you for the request (the more requests, the more stories i post 😉) i'm honestly not very proud of this one, but i've deleted it four times already and this is the best i got 💀 once again, comments and likes are greatly appreciated, it helps me know if yall like my style or if i need to change anything! pls don't steal my work, love yall!
-
"Matttt?" i whined from my spot on the floor. i was bored out of my fucking mind. Matt wanted the day to be a 'lazy day' and by that he means he wanted to scroll social media and youtube all day. that was not my idea of fun, i've always been a hands on person whether that be going outside for hours, to the lake, reading, anything other than being lazy at home.
"whattttt?" he mocked, sitting up from his bed, his hair all messed up and funny looking.
i chuckled. "your hair looks great." i smiled, climbing to straddle his lap and fix his bed head. "better" i smiled, kissing him on the cheek. "i have a business proposal."
matt sighed, "what do you want." he rolled his eyes with a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
i hopped off him, standing at the foot of his bed. "i vote we go to barnes and noble today, my book case is baren." i joked. four out of the five of my bookshelves were full completely. but you can never have too many books.
"y/n you have more books than i think i've ever seen anywhere else in my life." he laughed. matt pretended to be annoyed, but he knows the answer is yes. and not just to this scenario, the answer is always yes to everything y/n wants. she had him wrapped around her tiny little finger. "when do you want to go?" he gave in.
i jumped around the room a couple times, silently celebrated with myself. "right now silly." i said. i trotted into his bathroom where i have my own drawer of toiletries and such. i touched up my makeup and threw on my shoes. "ok i'm ready." i beamed up at him. matt basically towered over me. he's 5'8 and i'm 5'3, so there's a pretty noticeable height difference.
he slipped his own shoes on. "i'm ready." he smiled, grabbing his keys.
i just looked at him. "matt babe." i looked at his outfit. "we are not going anywhere when you are wearing basketball shorts and a wife beater. please change." i said, false seriousness evident on my features.
-
"oh my god i'm literally gonna shit my pants i love barnes and noble." i said, climbing out of the passenger seat. I made matt carry my three tote bags i have designated for my favorite hobby, book shopping.
"do i really have to come in." matt complained.
-
we had been at barnes and noble for an hour already, two out of the three of my tote bags were full. so full we had to put them by checkout because they were too heavy to carry. About 15 minutes in i had made a joke that i thought was hilarious, matt didn't really think so.
-
"haha, bernard's and noble." i chuckled to myself, but matt heard me.
"y/n i swear to god i will leave you here."
"deal."
-
i was finally ready to go, the final tote bag full. i couldn't find matt though. i wandered through the multiple sections of books, matt no where in sight. "maybe he did leave me here." i mumbled under my breath. until my eye caught matt. he was crouched down, one hand on the shelf, the other hand occupied with a book.
"whatchya readin?" i smiled over him. my heart melted when he looked up at me, a small smile on his face. i took this time to take in his beauty. the way his slight curls fell over his eyebrows, the way his middle part accentuated his face shape, the way his blue eyes went so well with his outfit. he was wearing the white shirt with 'whatever' in bold print written across it, and baggy light wash blue jeans, his keys dangling from his belt loop.
"some poetry book, i might get it it's kinda fire." he smiled.
"you read poetry?"
"i like finding the good ones and printing them out, i like to look back on the really influential ones." matt said. he stood up and took my bag, his hand resting on the small of my back.
"matt i don't deserve you, you're so sweet." a cheesy grin creeping onto my lips.
"y/n you deserve the world." he smiled down at me, kissing my forehead.
"ok now how are we gonna get all of these in the car?" i laughed.

Desert Duo Doodles! I am in way too many fandoms to count, including content creators and whatnot. It wasn’t until a doodle of some CCs that I realised how many were MCYTs. But I wanted to draw these two cause I liked how I drew Scar in the other original doodle and have drawn Grian a bunch but constantly changed the design. Now I have one that I like.
Under the cut are the individual drawings plus stickers that I forgot to add to the original but decided fuck it it’s done, plus some explanation about design choices and headcanons. (Does anyone even care about that?) Idk and idc, I’ll ramble anyways.
(you don’t have to read the stuff, I don’t really care, but you can if you want)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
First off, this one was annoying since it was supposed to be a hug. I was too lazy to draw the Third/Sercet Life outfits, so they are in their default outfits with crowns representing the fact that they won at least one of the Life games.
Ramble: For Grian’s design, I wanted to keep the bird/avian hybrid but also reference other series or past friend. The Life series has the poppy has memorabilia, the blue and red bracelet represents YHS/TS, and the eye necklace is for Evo. The tail is more so a mix of Watcher magic and Avian DNA, bird feet cause why not. The wing ears are hidden to look similar enough to his regular hair, I like to imagine that wing ears are a rarer trait and to not draw too much attention, he would use Watcher magic to change the colour of the wing ears to match his hair. The freckles are based off of the idea that Angel Dust’s freckles are actually just eyes (which were shown in the show), and I liked that idea. He didn’t have freckles before Evo but after in Hermitcraft he did, they are just eyes that are always closed though he can see out of them. It’ll be clearer in the next piece, but his eyes are based off of some bird eyes so a black sclera with coloured pupils. Grian just hides his eyes under his hair since they are more sensitive than normal. Also I didn’t wanna draw his eyes cause it was one of the things I kept changing before.
I’ll go into Scar later since it’s just a half body but he goes by the same rule of his outfit showing where he’s been. So the poppy and lavender for Third Life and the heart necklace for Secret Life. The earrings are based off of the crystals from Season 7.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Alter Egos! Or at least Hot Guy and Arianna Griande. Not much here, but you can see what I meant with the eyes beforehand.
Also, I can’t be the only one to notice or at least point out that Ari and Cute Guy have like the same or a least a very similar colour palette of pink and white.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Final one, and the two are taking a much needed nap. This could take place anywhere though I like to imagine somewhere in Double Life or somewhere between Season 7 - 10
(also I find it very funny how close these two’s bases were for Season 6 - 10. both were near each other in the futuristic district of season six, then next door neighbours at the start of season seven, I don’t need to mention much besides boatem in season eight, again near the start and most of season nine with Scarland and Grian’s timejump build, then finally again in season ten with Magic Mountain. just funny to me for some reason)
Ramble: Scar is like a hybrid between an elf/fae creature and a cat centaur (that I cannot remember the proper name for). The cat half is based off of Jellie, RIP, and his body is scarred because well I mean the dude is accident-prone it’s bound to happen. I imagine that Scar would wear slightly baggy outfits, like they hang off just a bit to not hug his figure. His hair is more based off of Season 9 with him leaning into the whole elf aesthetic, and I both hate and like the hair but whatever. Idk, I kinda just wanted to make him centaur based cause that visual isn’t something I see often. I imagine that hind legs are weaker than the front so he would switch between a cane and a wheelchair that you would see for animals. I might draw that later idk, but yea
If you actually took the time to read this incoherent mess, idk comment a content creator you like, no matter how niche they may be

today I present: innie thoughts. Tomorrow? who knows.
Word count: 703
Tumblr media
He would definitely follow you around at first, desperately wanting your attention. He would savor every interaction and be extremely energetic, like a puppy. His fluffy hair would bounce with each step as he practically shakes  with the amount of energy he has. He would definitely prod and poke at you if you don’t say something back for a while, as you’ve kind of just blurred him out as you walk to class. He’d ask questions like, “when’s your next class?” “where are you headed?” He annoyed you at times, but you could never stay agitated for too long, at least he was cute. I can imagine it’s a chilly fall day, scarved wrapped around your necks and swaying in the breeze. Orange leaves fall from the trees around you, which accented his copper-colored hair. When Jeongin asks if you want to get food together, you agree on one condition: he stops talking for the rest of the walk. He practically bursts with excitement, but his lips stay sealed. Finally some silence. Surprisingly, as you kept hanging out more, he toned down his energy since he finally got what he wanted. He worked up the courage to ask you out officially, and the rest is history.
Total golden retriever energy!! His own preference is to go out on dates, or some kind of activity. Being with you, he’s beginning to understand that dates don’t always have to be over-the-top and energetic. Sometimes, just lounging on the couch watching netflix is just as special. He’s just grateful to spend time with you anywhere.
He definitely gets you small presents all the time,  just things that ‘reminded him of you’, or sometimes it’s even a cool rock or pebble that caught his eye on the way to class. You keep all the rocks on a shelf in your room after you clean them. One however, stood out the most. Innie decided that he wanted to try the tiktok date trend where you try to find a rock that matches each other’s eye color. You two would look crazy, squatting down near the riverbank sifting through the rocks and pebbles. But you didn’t care, as long as it was with innie, you’d try anything he asked for. Perhaps it was because you loved his smile, and how his eyes creased with joy. His energy is infectious. He exclaims loudly when he picks up a golf-ball sized rock, and waddles across the uneven riverbank to hold it up to your face. “A perfect match!” Jeongin giggles afterwards. The silence that follows is comforting, as you stare fondly at eachother. His hand comes up to cup your jaw and press a delicate kiss to your lips.
Jeongin is always there when your class is dismissed, waiting while leaning onto the closest wall. He has your schedule memorised, and when it’s not possible to sign up for the same classes, he will plan out what would work best so he still has time to see you between classes.
You two go on many cafe study dates, even if you end up just chatting for most of it. However, once you two decide to focus, Jeongin is so eager to help you memorize concepts by quizzing you and using flashcards. He always says you deserve a reward for working so hard. The reward? Millions of kisses to every inch of your face once you get back to your apartment.
While you’re studying, Innie wears his thin round-frame glasses. They make him look so ethereal, like he’s straight out of a designer magazine. You definitely snap some new pictures for your phone lockscreen. Which, you guys definitely have matching lockscreens, profile pics, everything. It’s so cute how enthusiastic Innie gets about choosing the right set of pictures. Or sometimes, you’ll go out with the sole purpose of taking new Instagram profile pictures. You’ll go through possible photoshoot locations, plan matching outfits, the whole deal. He is so dedicated to taking your pictures, like your own personal photographer.
Innie is always there to comfort you, because seasonal depression and schoolwork don’t mix well. It could be a gloomy winter day, but Jeongin acts as the light at the end of the tunnel.

The Basics Of American Revolutionary War Uniforms:
Basic descriptions I wrote of each layer of a Continental Army soldier's uniform in order of what you'd put on first to what you'd put on last, starting with:
Shirts:
In the 18th century, a man with a shirt was considered naked, so the shirt was a part of every outfit (although it was often covered in other layers of clothing). The shirts worn by the soldiers in the revolution were designed to be as comfortable as humanly possible, so they were very long, often stopping mid-thigh or just below the knee, loose and flowy, and had lots of ruffles at the top. Shirts also had long, puffy sleeves. The shirts were so comfortable that they would function as nightgowns too. All a man had to do to get ready for bed was take off all of the other layers of his uniform. The shirts were plain white or a yellowish colour, depending on how many times they'd been worn. Collars were high but not as high as collars in the 1790s, and sleeve cuffs were either closed by cuff links (little button things) or they'd just have cute lace at the end. Contrary to some ridiculous but funny assumptions I've heard from people who don't study historical fashion, shirts were not hard to put on, and they were simply pulled over the wearer's head like you would put on any other shirt. Shirts were closed together using buttons (a favourite of mine), linen, thread ties, or different combinations of the forementioned. Buttons tended to be small and made out of either thread, horn, leather, or even leather. Because the shirts were made out of soft, thin materials such as linen, cotton, and light flannel and were worn all the time, they were usually the first clothing items to wear out and break. Due to supply problems, there were periods of time during the revolution where men had to wear their breaking shirts and couldn't replace them. Another thing about shirts that I read somewhere (can not find the source for the life of me) is that Washington told his soldiers to wear hunting shirts because he felt that they were practical in every kind of weather. However, the site did say that they only wore them towards the start of the war and in certain regiments.
Neck accessories (for lack of a better term):
Like I briefly mentioned with the shirts, people in the 18th century had a really weird idea of what counts as naked, and they believed that a man without any kind of neck covering over his shirt was still naked. Cravats and neck stocks were two commonly worn neck garments during the revolution. Cravats were made out of silk, linen, or cotton and could be put on in a range of different ways. When they were untied, they were simply long strips of fabric. There are many ways to tie a cravat. I'm not very good at explaining things, so if you need to figure out how to tie an 18th-century cravat, I recommend looking up a YouTube tutorial. Cravats could also be accessorised with cute brooches and such. There were two different, commonly worn in the continental army, types of neckstock in the 18th century. Number 1 was made of the same materials and had the same colour as a cravat, but number 2 was dark in colour and made of leather. The biggest difference between neckstocks and cravats is how you put them on. Neckstocks aren't meant to be tied like cravats; they have a buckle on one end, so they're meant to be put on more like a belt. Oh, and in case you're wondering, the buckle always goes at the back.
Stockings:
Oh my god, I could talk about revolutionary war stockings forever. They're actually so adorable and cutesy, and I just love them. So the stockings are the pretty little white tights that the 18th century seems to be known for, and they were mainly made via knitting and were made out of either wool, cotton, linen, silk, or a fabric blend of any of the aforementioned. Stockings were usually made using knitting machines, but there were still plenty of people who made them by hand. Stockings in the 18th century were not at all short either; they went above the knee (so basically thigh highs). One of my favourite parts about 18th-century stockings is the garters that secure them into place. The garters were belt things that would wrap around their legs to make sure the stockings wouldn't fall down, and they were usually made out of leather, cloth, lace, or a ribbon tied into a bow. I physically cannot speak of these things without saying aww in my mind.
Culottes:
Also known as knee-breeches, but lets be honest, culottes sound cooler. The culottes worn by 18th-century soldiers were a bit different; instead of having a line of visible buttons at the crotch area to put the culottes on like jeans, they had fewer buttons—usually about 1 or 2—at the top of the culottes, and those buttons would be hidden by the waistcoat. Culottes in the Revolutionary War had a much higher waistband; most culottes in the 18th century had a low waistband, but culottes of the Continental Army had a waistband that went just above the soldiers actual waist. And culottes never stopped lower than the shinbone (to show off the stockings). Culottes were white or off white and were made of either buckskin, elk, sheepskin, wool, linen, velvet, silk, or fabric blends of any of the aforementioned. Culottes were very tight because they were worn so that when the soldiers were riding their horses, which they did a lot, the horse needed to feel every movement of the leg so that it could understand what the rider wanted it to do, and that was much harder if the rider was wearing super loose, flowy pants. Culottes were closed at the side of the knee with more small buttons or ties. Buttons on culottes were usually made of either metal, leather, or horn and covered in cloth or wrapped in thread.
Waistcoats:
Although waistcoats with sleeves did exist in the 18th century, they weren't as popular as waistcoats without sleeves. Going back to the weird 18th century undestanding of what is nude, a man wearing breeches, a shirt, a cravat or neckstock, and an unsleeved waistcoat would still be counted as naked. This is one of the things I see a lot of period dramas get wrong. I understand the overcoat-less look looks cool and attractive, but in the 18th century, that would be like a man going outside wearing no clothes. Oh, and another thing that a lot of period dramas mess up on is that men did not show their shirt sleeves in public; that was considered crude and abnormal; it wasn't illegal, just something you'd get judged for. There were two sub-types of waistcoats: double-breasted and single-breasted. These sub-types actually have nothing to do with breasts at all. In fact, the sub-types are about buttons. Double-breasted means a waistcoat with two rows of buttons, and single-breasted means a waistcoat with one row of buttons. Back to the uniform of the continental army, at the start of the revolution, soldiers wore single-breasted waistcoats in the most popular style of the 1750s and 1760s, but by the end of the revolution, they'd switched to wearing the 1770s style waistcoat, just going by a general pattern I've seen in changes to parts of the uniform. I'm assuming that the switch would have happened in 1779. In case you're wondering, the difference between the 1750s–1760s style and the 1770s style is their length; the former stopped mid-thigh, the latter stopped just below the hip. Waistcoats were usually made of linen, wool, velvet, silk, or a fabric blend of any of the aforementioned. They were made with all different colours and patterns, but in the continental army, they wore beige and off-white waistcoats. The waistcoat buttons were made of horn, metal, or leather and were sometimes wrapped in thread or fabric to make them the same colour as the waistcoat.
Sashes:
Sashes are a detail of the continental army uniform that I see a lot of people (and sites explaining the layers of the uniform) skip over. Continental army sashes were very important because they showed the wearer's position in the army. Green means the wearer is an aide-de-camp or brigade major; pink means the wearer is a brigadier general or a major general; and finally, blue means the wearer is a commander-in-chief. This system was made by Washington in 1775 and was used by the army throughout the war. The sashes were likely made using silk or wool. There was another, separate system with sashes; colonels, lieutenant colonels, majors, captains, sub-alterns, serjeants, and corporals could wear a red sash around their waist. However, this system was likely an optional thing because I've seen many portraits of men in those ranks from 1775–1779—they ditched the system in 1779—and I've seen only one of them where the person is wearing one of the red waist sashes.
Overcoats:
At this point, you are no longer considered naked; congratulations. So there were two kinds of overcoats in the 18th century: frock coats and dress coats. Dress coats were for super-rich people, and frock coats were for everyone else. Dress coats didn't have functional pockets, and the only reason why people thought that they were better than a frock coat was that they were expensive and sometimes prettier. Frock coats had a double-breasted front (same definition as with the waistcoats), functional pockets, and a high, round neckline. You can probably guess what kind of coat the soldiers of the Continental Army wore. They wore blue wool and linen frock coats with large gold or silver metal buttons on the cuffs and facings. George Washington and his officers wore buff-coloured facings with thick buff-coloured cuffs, and most other officers wore red facings with red cuffs. The coats had coattails and stopped midthigh, but the whole button and facing thing stopped just below the hip. The overcoats had this interesting triangle coat tail design thing at the back that I tried to figure out how to describe, but I couldn't. Here's a picture of what I mean by the two different kinds of frock coats worn by the soldiers that I mentioned in this paragraph: the one on the left is the one worn by Washington and his officers, and the one on the right is the other one:

I have just been told the name of the triangle things, they're called vents and they're to make sure the soldiers could ride horses without messing up their uniform. :)
Epaulettes:
The epaulettes serve the same purpose as the sashes: to declare the wearers rank; however, epaulettes are much more confusing because the epaulette system changed halfway through the war. So, the epaulette system for 1776–1779 goes like this: commanders, major-generals, brigadier generals, colonels, lieutenant-colonels, and majors wore a gold epaulette on each shoulder; captains wore a single gold epaulette on their right shoulder; sub-alterns wore a single gold epaulette on their left shoulder; serjeants wore a red epaulette made of cloth on their right shoulder; and corporals wore a green epaulette made of cloth on their left shoulder. The system from 1779-1784 goes like this, commanders wore a gold epaulette on each shoulder with 3 silver stars, major-generals wore a gold epaulette on each shoulder with 2 silver stars, brigadier-generals wore a gold epaulette on each shoulder with 1 silver star, colonels, lieutenant colonels and majors wore a gold epaulette with no stars on each shoulder, captains wore a gold epaulette on their right shoulder, sub-alterns wore an epaulette on their left shoulder, senior non-commisioned officers wore a red epaulette made of cloth and adorned with a crescent moon shape made of brass on each shoulder, sergeants wore a red epaulette made of cloth on the right shoulder, corporals wore a green epaulette made of cloth on their right shoulder and lastly, privates wore no epaulettes.
Hats:
Tricorn, bicorn and round were a must. Round hats were hats that were cocked on one side, bicorn hats were hats that were cocked on two sides and tricorn hats were hats that were cocked on three sides. Most of the time Continental army soldiers pinned them and folded them on the sides. Soldiers carrying muskets wore the hat in a different way to normal civillians, civillians would have the hat the normal way, center point forward but when carrying a musket over their shoulder, soldiers would turn their hat so that the left part was facing forward. In this position, the two sides of the hat would be almost flat so they could sling their muskets over their shoulders without having to worry about knocking their hat off. The hats white edges were made using worsted wool braid and the hat itself if expensive was made of beaver felt or camel's down painted black and if it was cheap it was just made of black wool felt. Hats were not always worn, I'd say they were more of a formality because I have seen very few portraits of soldiers wearing them.
Hat Cockades:
Hat cockades were made of ribbon or wool and were a sort of decoration to be pinned to the wearer's hat. They were like sashes and epaulettes; they indicated the wearer's rank in the continental army. And the system changed in 1779. So the system before 1779 worked like this: subalterns wore a green hat cockade, captains wore a yellow hat cockade, majors and brigade majors wore a red hat cockade, colonels wore a pink hat cockade, and lieutenant colonels wore a green hat cockade. In 1779, they changed it to honour and celebrate America's military alliance with France, so the colourful insignia were removed, and instead every soldier, regardless of rank, wore a plain black and white hat cockade. French soldiers had a cockade with black in the middle, surrounded by white, and American soldiers had a cockade with white in the middle, surrounded by black. Later on, in 1783, the black and white cockades were named the union cockades and were to be worn on the left breast, close to the heart.
Shoes:
There were actually a few periods of time during the war where some of the soldiers didn't have shoes, such as during the Christmas Day crossing and the winter of 1777–1778. But when they were supplied with shoes (most of the time they were), they wore one of two styles. The classic 'little lad' shoes, as I call them, and riding boots 'Little lad' shoes were shoes made with black leather and secured with a buckle. Little lad shoes had a small heel bit at the bottom, likely meant to make the wearer look taller because, despite tall people being considered the most attractive, most people in the 18th century were very short. Riding boots had an even higher heel and a part at the top of the boots that could be rolled down to fit the wearer. When rolled down, they just look like normal riding boots but with brown cuffs at the top. Interesting shoe-related fact that I thought would be cool to put here: in the 18th century, they didn't make right or left shoes; they made what they called straights, and you were meant to switch which foot you wore them on every day to 'wear them off evenly'. Riding boots were made with leather and were black on the outside and brown on the inside. Riding boots were very tall (they went under soldiers' kneecaps) and worn for the same reason as culottes, to make horse riding easier. It's meant to prevent saddle pinching, have a sturdy toe to protect feet while on the ground, and have a big heel to prevent slipping through stirrups.
Hair:
Originally I planned on not mentioning it on this list because it's not something that you can wear but there were uniform rules about hair in the continental army so I guess it is technically part of the uniform. In the 18th century they viewed men with facial hair was considered wrong and unusual in normal day-to-day life so if course it wasn't acceptable in a military setting. In the continental army they had a rule that men needed to shave every three days. They went against this rule a few times but only when they were desperate. Now on the topic of hair as in, not facial hair, the hair on their head was usually tied into a low ponytail with a blue ribbon or - for some men - cut short. 18th century men LOVED their long hair and did not want to cut their hair short even though they were told it should prevent lice. Wigs and hair powder were fashionable in the 18th century but not many men could afford wigs and it's not like they had a ridiculous supply of hair powder so most of the time they had their natural hair colour showing.
It's important to note that this is just the standard uniform that most men wore; each regiment had its own unique uniform, so if your project has anything to do with a specific regiment, either do your own research or ask me about it in the comments or my asks. This is also post-1775 because 1775 had no uniform. If I have gotten anything wrong, please do not feel afraid to correct me in the comments, and I'll edit the post.

Hiii!!
I saw your poly Cyno/reader/Tighnari fic and wanted to request a poly relationship between Childe and Diluc (a rare pair, I know) with a reader who's a seamstress.
A rare pair it may be, but it's a rare pair with FLAVOUR! I like it!
Content: gender neutral reader; nothing else really;
Word count: 770 words
This one came out more about headcanons than an actual fic or drabble. I just couldn't come up with a good and long enough of a scenario to make it happen. Hope that that is okay with you.
Please enjoy your order<3
Tumblr media
I think that Childe and Diluc would need a really, really long time to warm up to one another, especially from Diluc's side. They do love you and want to be with you, but you just can't choose between them
you make it work somehow, but the beginning is definitely off to a very rocky start
I would say that you stay mostly with Diluc in Mondstadt, where it's safe and you're not too close to the fatui. Childe would come by and visit as often as he can manage. You do go to Shenznayha with him from time to time, like meeting his family, but never stay for an extended period of time. Neither of your lovers want you to.
They both will forever be grateful to the Archons above for your chosen profession
Because, as you are well aware, your two boyfriends often engage in fights and what not, so of course most of the time their clothes are gonna end up with holes or some other form of destruction put upon them
Diluc really appreciates the work you put into it when you fix things for him. He doesn't really show it, but his black coat does have some sentimental value to him, and the first time he saw a hole in it, he was devastated. He thought he had to throw it out now, until you jumped in and fixed it for him.
That day he worshipped the ground you were walking on. He quite literally fell on his knees in front of you and almost didn't stop showering you with gratitude
Diluc is a person that prefers more simplistic designs. He doesn't like to try new things, so if you fix something for him, just stay with the original colour and Diluc will be happy. Not a big fan of any designs or anything else on his clothes, like I said, he prefers it simple.
Now, on the other hand, if you were to make him something all by yourself, and it just so happened to have a lot of cliché designs on it... he still wears it, just not outside. He still prefers not to be seen by too many people, so he only wears it inside the mansion. He already get enough teasing from you, Childe and Adelinde. He doesn't need anything more.
But regardless of what it is, if you handmade something for him to wear, he WILL wear it. And he will keep it safe forever, asking you to fix little holes that developed over the time. You always offered to just make a new one, but Diluc refuses. He wants to keep this one and never get rid of it
Childe, on the other hand, is a little bit more... "adventurous" with his clothes, if you can say it like that
he would actually come to you with very specific requests for some designs he thought of, and asks you to put them over the holes in his shirts or pants. And he will wear them proudly, whereever he goes.
Actually wore one of those "altered" pants when visiting his family and his siblings wouldn't shut up about it. So, when he came back to you and Diluc, he had two full outfits from each of his siblings, all wanting to have something similar done with their clothes. You didn't mind doing it, but it took you a lot of time to finish this much work
But it's not just fixing their clothes for them that you do. You actually did a few other things
Some cute little pillows laying either on the couch or on the beds were made by you, and the boys love it
You even made an entire blanket all by yourself. However, Childe confiscated that one all for himself, so you had to make a second one for Diluc as well
You love making cute little gifts for Childe, like a scarf to wear when he goes back home, or a pair of gloves
Diluc is more of a practical man, so he is just fine when you gift him a specially made pillow or something like that
Over the time of your relationship, the two boys actually also grew closer together. Not as close as you would sometimes hope, but you could clearly see a sort of bond now between them
they do still bicker and stuff, but now it's all fun and games, never anything serious anymore
Overall, the two are very deeply in love with you, and they appreciate all the hard work you put in for them. Maybe a reward was well-deserved....

hi!! love your work, do you take requests?? i saw a post on ig and i literally need this with idol!taeyong and supermodel!reader 😭😭😫😫 i don’t want sm to be the bad guy cause they’re literally so supportive of their artists like when chen got married and had a child; while citizens were so angry, sm they supported him all the way😭😭😭 but don’t worry if you’re not interested
Tumblr media
Pairing: idol!Taeyong x model!reader
Genre: fluff, secret relationship
Word Count: 1k
Summary: You and Taeyong coincidentally join the same fashion event, giving you some private time away from home. Only that it might not have been a coincidence at all, because your boyfriend can be really persistent.
A/N: We all know how SM treats Taeyong, but let's imagine they're good in this au, because they also can't without him, that's a fact 🤓 Hope you like it 💖
Tumblr media
“You’re up next.”
“Got it.”
The stylist went with the makeup brush over your cheeks and nose one more time, dabbing off all last remnants of oil that had surfaced on your skin. In the spotlight, every flaw was visible, and you had to look perfect during this fashion show.
And not only because your boyfriend was in the audience today too.
It was a funny coincidence that he had been invited and allowed to join this brand’s fashion show for which you were walking during Fashion Week. He was an ambassador, sure, but his group was currently preparing for a world tour, so it must have been quite a hustle to fly to the other side of the world for this event only.
“Ready?”
“Yes.”
“Okay, go.”
The coordinator gave you a little push, and you stepped into the spotlight, donning a silky black dress that reached to the floor, hair flowing down your shoulders in the same, elegant manner. You were one of the very last walking, but also not ending the show, so you believed the majority of the audience was already paying their attention to somewhere else until the designer walked out.
But one person, you were sure of, was still looking attentively.
You clearly felt his eyes locked on you when you took one deliberate step after another since the dress was an inch too long and the shoes a size too big. This was not your first catwalk, so you still managed though, prompted by your boyfriend’s mesmerized gaze that you clearly felt fixated on you. It caused you to get a bit nervous, and you usually never felt this way as an established professional in the branch.
When you reached the end of the catwalk to pose, you dared to blink through the lights and let your eyes waver over the crowd for only the break of a second. You didn’t spot his face as the moment passed by too quickly, but what you noticed from the corner of your peripheral vision, was a red dot in a sea of monochrome outfits.
A red rose.
_____
“Great walk today, the dress looked so good on you!”
“Thank you so much!”
You bowed to the person who gave you this compliment, another one among many that you had received so far. Apparently, the majority had paid attention despite all - or was it only because you had walked especially confidently today?
“Are you not staying?” one of your model friends asked. “The after party is only about to start. And there are so many cute guys waiting to see us!”
“I’m sorry, I’ll pass.”
“We’re in New York, y/n! You cannot just pass on the afterparty!”
You shrugged and smiled apologetically. “I have other plans for tonight.”
Her look fell upon your handbag where the head of a red rose was peeking out. You hadn’t wanted to squish it in and ruin it when he had risked everything to get it delivered into the styling room, right at your place where it had greeted you upon your return.
“Do the plans involve the mysterious sender of this rose?”
With a grin, you only put your index finger on your lips, winking at her. “See you tomorrow.”
On your way out, you brushed someone with your shoulder. Before you could apologize, you then felt warm fingertips slightly touching the back of your hand in the secrecy of the shadow your two bodies casted.
“Excuse me,” a manly voice whispered that let goosebumps run down your spine.
“Don’t worry.”
You went in different directions, but when you reached the exit, you saw the person outside again, slipping into the safety of a black car. Not much later, your car arrived as well that would bring you to the hotel. To be entirely sure though, you let the chauffeur drive two more rounds around the block.
Entering the hotel’s lobby after getting out, you walked past the reception and straight to the elevators since you had gotten the floor and room number beforehand already. Your heart was already thumping heavily against your chest, excitement almost turning into anxiety since it had been two weeks since the both of you were last together in private.
When the door opened, you didn’t even have time to greet your boyfriend properly. His hand immediately wrapped around your arm and you got hauled into the room with the door closing shut behind you in nearly the same breath.
Light kisses got peppered on your lips that slowly turned into long, more passionate ones, the pent up longing no more deniable, and you finally didn’t have to hold your feelings back anymore.
“I missed you so much,” Taeyong muttered against the side of your neck, sucking on the thin skin that made you tickle lightly.
“I missed you too.” Your fingers curled around the hair behind his ears while he gently pressed you against the door. “You were sneaky at the show, do you know? One of the other models noticed the rose.”
“I had to subtly drop a hint that you’re mine. I couldn’t stand the gazes of the other men sitting with me in the audience. But I was very proud as well. Of you, because you were amazing, and of me, because you’re mine.”
“Lee Taeyong, I didn’t know you had kind of a possessive side to you.”
“Oh?” He raised a brow, grinning. “Didn’t my performance in the bedroom already assure you of that?”
You chuckled. “I meant outside of the bedroom.”
“How else do you think I got here?”
“What do you mean?”
“Right before a world tour, joining a fashion event… I went to hell and back, negotiating back and forth with my company and the brand to be able to be here today. Away from our daily lives, just to spend two days with you. Luckily, they treasure me so much, I could have asked for anything at this point.”
You looked at him with softened features and all the love you had for him. “You’re really amazing, you know that?”
With one swift motion, he helped you jump, hooking your legs around his waist before turning to the bed. “Let me prove to you that this was absolutely worth it.”

Gen q here: Aside from the banger outfits on the new MH dolls do u prefer the designs of the dolls themselves from the original run or this new one? I personally loved how the pets used to look now they look too cutesy imo I miss when Hissette and Lagoona’s fish looked like y’know actually dangerous animals lol
For me it kind of depends? Like specific aspects I'd say I prefer G1 over G3, other aspects I prefer G3 over G1. Like the pets, I also agree with that, I'm not a fan of how cutesy the G3 pets look, especially with how many of them are just basic ass cats and dogs, or at least look like it? Like, G3 Count Fabulous is a cute thing sure but it doesn't compare to G1's spindly ass actually bat shaped creature that was Count Fabulous. Same goes for G3 vs G1 Chewlian, Neptuna, hell I was annoyed they initially replaced Hissette with that dog G3 signature Cleo came with?? That's so uncreative. I think Crescent and Shiver are the only pets from this Gen that I think look just as good/better than G1 in Shiver's case.
Anyway! Aside from pets lmao, like I said I think they have their own design strengths and weaknesses. Like, the fashion? I do love a lot of the designs for the G3 dolls but I do miss the darker colors and more intricate outfit pieces of G1. It's only within like, the past couple of months that I think G3 has finally hit it's stride and is starting to live up to the same level of thought and purpose G1 was on? And that's a whole other discussion to be had about the difference in their fashion ethos, I'm not getting into it right now but it's interesting, and most certainly not a "MH isn't goth anymore" thing lol. MH wasn't goth in the first place, but that's for another discussion lmao <3
And like, both gens have ugly designs, it's not like either of them is good or bad 100% of the time. Like I can't stand G3 Ghoulia's design, but also I can't stand Howleen's redesign from G1. In fact there's quite a bit of dolls from G1 that I would say are objectively bad, not as bad as G2, but compared to what it we knew it was capable of, some dolls just look lackluster. Both of them are very much capable of fumbling the bag lmao
G3 I think has the biggest design strengths when it comes to the variety of the dolls, cause you can not look me in the eyes and tell me G1 was better at body diversity, or diversity in general, when all the ghouls had the same stick thin ass body molds lmao. Obvs there were a couple of dolls with different heights and specific changes to their molds based on the monster they were, but G3 is just doing SOOO much better in terms of actual varied body diversity. I know Draculaura isn't actually chunky or anything but she's short and has a wide waist and thighs and her figure resembles mine and that makes me so happy. Abbey being fucking TALL and wide fits her so much better than the stick thin body she was confined to in G1. And Catty's upcoming G3 doll having a truly fat body mold?? G1 would NEVER lmao. All the ghouls have bodies that better reflect them in my opinion, they all don't look the exact same in the body shape department and that's wonderful.
Also like, the face sculpts vary based on the race of the characters now and that's amazing? Like, one look at G3 Venus' face sculpt and we immediately knew she was Black, that's not something you can say about G1 and I'm happy they're putting in that extra effort nowadays.
Anyway my point is: each Gen is better than one another in specific aspects, they're worse than the other one is in others. I love both Gens for what they are, I don't think I could say I prefer one over the other because they're both special to me. I got a bit off topic but like, yanno lmao

Do you have some kind of ranking of Sakura's outfits? (From CardCaptor Sakura)
Do you have a favorite and one you dislike?
I don't think I've ever tried to pick a favourite but let's see what I can do! However I'll only include what's on the costume list on the Wiki, because they are easily accessible and if we count everything she's worn once in a chapter cover or some kind of advertisement the amount would be in the hundreds. Also I'm only looking at the fantasy outfits, while she does have a lot of cute casual clothes, they are kind of in their own category.
Top 5 liked outfits
Tumblr media
#5 Catch You Catch Me costume (OP 1) - Sakura having a billion different costumes is of course a plus, but the downside is that she doesn't really have an iconic appearance. The OP1 costume is probably the closest to that so I have to appreciate it for that, even if otherwise it's not particularly amazing.
Tumblr media
#4 Pink Ribbon Dress Costume (episode 2) - this is pretty similar to the previous one, but the ribbons and poncho make it a lot more interesting.
Tumblr media
#3 Pink and Black Star Final costume (chapter 43) - I'm always happy to see black in magical girl costumes (and not just for dark magical girls) and the tassels are a nice detail. Also I like that the skirt material isn't the typical poofy cloth this time.
Tumblr media
#2 Crystal feather dress (Clear Card OP1) - I'm a fan of feather dresses and apparently feathers go well with crystals. I like the crystals on her tights and overall this makes her look really powerful.
Tumblr media
#1 Red Heart dress (Clear Card OP2) - I think this one is really cute and it goes well with Sakura's overall cute image. It also has plenty of memorable details but doesn't feel overdesigned, like the heart shapes, frill, black lines and scalloped edges repeat through the outfit.
Top 5 disliked outfits
Tumblr media
#5 Waterproof Wing Coat Costume (Clear Card episode 12) - If the idea is that this is just a raincoat she threw over her gym clothes I guess that's kind of cute, but as a full costume this is a little boring.
Tumblr media
#4 Pink Bunny Costume (episode 6) - I just don't like the colours on this one.
Tumblr media
#3 Harlequin Bat Costume (episode 7) - not having every costume have a huge billowy dress or cape is fine, she has so many outfits that there's room for variety, but this is a little too basic. Also very much not a fan of the colour palette, the green is ok but the blue diamonds are barely noticeable. The manga version looks way better.
Tumblr media
#2 Alice costume (episode 24) - Inoffensive but a super generic take on the Alice dress.
Tumblr media
#1 Daisy costume (chapter 2) - I think mostly Sakura's outfits range from passable to great with very few total duds, but this is one of them. The overall design is pretty uninspired and the only detail that stands out, the generic flowers, just make it look like a costume elementary schoolers sewed for a school play on their own. You can do so much better Tomoyo!

And it’s Tumblr, so not only do we have to have a vampire, we have to have an object head!! It’s @lightgriffinsect’s SET NOTATION!! Yes, as in the mathematical concept. Because that’s what he is, but personified! He goes by he/him!
Tumblr media
He has a LOT of information, despite only being 2 days old at the time of submission! You know what’s coming!
Now what could the funny math man possibly have about him?
“He's a goofy little guy I created two days ago. Set is the personification of set theory, a math principle that I am bad at and subsequently hate. His puny existence originated with a doodle I absently made in my study resource book, much to the chagrin of my maths tutor. I drew myself angrily shaking my fist at a person with a Venn diagram head, since Venn diagrams are a big thing in sets. Originally it was just supposed to be the Venn diagram, but then I added a little sweat bead in the corner and I thought it gave it a lot of personality and it spiraled from there. Now he's got a mouth and a cute little ξ next to his head since that's one of the symbols of universal set.
His face, a rectangular translucent sort of screen, essentially IS the universal set. Within it he can display whatever he wants, because it all counts as a subset of the universal set. Set's face functions similar to the screen of a TV head character as he can pull up any diagrams or images he wants on it. The appearance of the Venn diagram typically on his face can change in the number of sets displayed and even in the shading depending on his mood. He's a very expressive lil dude.
Set is a bit on the smaller side, at a height of 5'7" (170 cm). He also is rather thin, although his figure is more often than not hidden by his outfit. He tends to walk in a harried manner, being a nervous guy, but he can be surprisingly graceful, since he can dance.
Set prefers wearing modest, loose-fitting clothing like oversized sweaters, and his favorite one is turquoise. He also wears a black top beneath it and black jeans. And he wears three-inch heels like the funky boy he is <3 I may hate sets but I love Set.
Set is very timid and socially awkward, and a bit of a coward. He has many phobias, including arachnophobia, acrophobia, and agoraphobia. And those are just the ones starting with A. He speaks almost exclusively in set language, a fact that he's quite shy about. It's part of why he usually doesn't approach others for a conversation first. However, he turns out to be very kind and friendly once you get to know him. He's very quiet but likes spending time with people. He's interested in webcomics and digital art, and for obvious reasons he is very good at mathematics. As a result he works as an accountant. He also has a lot of general and practical knowledge and is a fast learner, despite seeming innocent and sheltered at first glance.”
Oh, what a funny little guy! Why should you vote for him?
“He's a silly pathetic boy! The only reason he even exists is because I wanted to make a doodle bashing the concept of sets, which I developed a grudge against in 8th grade (at the age of 13) and am now too committed to let go of. However, in the two days since I have created a persona for this maths principle, I've grown strangely attached to this little guy. He's just so dorky and awkward and timid and I can relate. I bet a lot of people can relate. Set just wants to read webcomics and draw and learn things. He likes his job, something not a lot of people get to experience anymore. I don't know, I had a lot of fun personifying a math concept and building his personality beyond "why do we need this topic". I was quickly able to come up with a fun design for Set that I'm satisfied with. He also just turned out to be very likeable even though he's based off a topic I don't even like. He fits the principle he was based on so well, but he's still got a character beyond that. Vote for him because he's a sweet, sad, and shy little dude, and because he's a character that was made and exists purely out of enjoyment and fun.”

Drip Mayhem [Days 1-5]
Most of them look so normal </3 Played it way too safe with the designs, but it works
Small descriptions for them because I love rambling:
Fiane, casual: Outside of her work as a security devil trainee, Fiane dresses simple, but cute enough to feel fashionable. You will often see her in clothes with web designs because she likes them a lot. However, from how busy she is at work now, she rarely gets to wear them anymore. Not that she cannot take breaks, but rather she chooses not to.
Eliakim, smart casual: Plain 👏 ass 👏 man 👏. He prefers wearing clothes that are more practical and easy to get into. The most he will accept are 1 or 2 accessories and long coats, but that is about it. If you look into his wardrobe, it's mostly just button up shirts of different colours and different kinds of long pants.
Mulir, homewear: Comfort to the max. She prefers to wear dresses since her talons tend to get in the way, and she generally wears a lot of long sleeves as well. She thought that maybe other people will like it when they hug her and they feel comfy, hence the sweaters and puffy clothes. Of course, this does not apply during hotter weathers.
Inae, casual: She has plain clothes. She has funky and stylish clothes. She has it all. You probably wouldn't be able to count how many outfits she has, and she will always be seen wearing a different outfit whenever she goes out. Of course, she would need a break every now and then, and when the break comes, she wears something simple (to her)! She will load up on the acessories, though. This attire is one of her "break" attires. She surprisingly has more ""mom clothes"" than Mulir does.
Urrun, sleepwear: They love their sleepwear. Especially if it's thick since they get cold really easily. They have sleepwear of all sorts of patterns, and this is one of the funky ones. If they can choose to, they really would wear their sleepwear for the whole day instead. But sleepwear is sleepwear. It makes them sleepy, and they would not want to fall asleep out of nowhere. [Fun fact: Urrun has a silly slipper collection! All kinds of stupid looking slippers, from stupid demon plant to goofy fluffy furballs. Even though they kept it well hidden, the truth will eventually be out once Lionel gets into the collection.]

Snowy New Year Wenzhou
It's the height of summer here in the US, so posting about these two relaxing in the snow is a nice cool diversion!
These two are in their beautiful fur-edged winter robes (with apologies and admiration to Gong Jun and Zhang Zhehan for filming in these insanely hot robes during their summer!) from episodes 28 and 29.
Tumblr media
We only actually see Lao Wen wearing his marvelous fur collared outer robe in episode 28, since he takes it off to cook, and never puts it back on again. That outer robe is too pretty to not have longer screentime, so happy it is here in fig form!
Tumblr media
These two cuties safely snoozed their way across the ocean to me in their protective polystyrene boxes.
Tumblr media
They arrived with a bonus hot water bottle. This is too cute and definitely on point for when the winter comes! Lao Wen's hairpin was enclosed separately to keep it from getting broken, which I appreciate.
Tumblr media
Here's the hairpin just by itself. You can see the hole there in Lao Wen's top loop of hair.
Tumblr media
They look just as happy as can be!
Tumblr media
This artist is extremely popular, and there's recently been a ton of figs released with her designs. I've just had the first sets delivered to my warehouse now, but you'll be seeing a LOT of these in the future posts. It's a fat body style, but it's her own unique style. I've seen these generally referred to as chonks, or chonkers, which is what I call them. The style has been insanely popular in China - the majority of the figs in this style sold out instantly, and I was only able to grab them by literally counting down the seconds until release, and then checking out as fast as I possibly could. A lot of these were released at 16:40, or 17:00 China Standard Time, which is painfully middle of the night Pacific Standard Time. But it was worth (many) interrupted nights of sleep!
Tumblr media
This particular fig maker provides overseas links for folks, so no tense countdowns on Weidian or lost sleep on her sets, thankfully. There are at least two fig makers I know that only specialize in the chonk style, and one of them (of course with some incredible designs) is restricted to friends and family only.
Tumblr media
These are, as the name might suggest, very solid figs! They do not need fig stands in the slightest, as they sit just fine. The slight train on their outfits also help keep them solidly upright. These figs aren't going anywhere.
Tumblr media
Lao Wen's hairpin did not slide quite far enough through the hole provided through his loop of hair. I could definitely fix this with some judicious filing down on the hairpin, but I'll need to work up the nerve to adjust it first. Once I start filing, I'll file off some of the white paint, so I'd have to be very careful to not mess it up!
Tumblr media
You can see here how long Lao Wen's hairpin is on this end though! Part of it is the angle, and part is just that it's too long. I will say their hair is looking super, super cute here. It's a bit shorter than we often see it because they're sitting, but it's adorable.
Tumblr media
I can really see why this style is so popular - the slightly more rounded, childlike aspects are really adorable. Look at their cute hands!
Tumblr media
I like this set very much - we have them dusted with snow, and sitting resting like they just ate way too much delicious food. It's ok to have a bit of snow pile up on you when you're so full and warmly dressed!
Tumblr media
And we're back around! I switched up their places for a little extra bit of comparison. Their little mouths are so cute!
Tumblr media
You can see here why they're so stable. Not only do we have their longer trains on their robes, we have the wide flat base, and then their feet!
Tumblr media
Ah, the hairpin. I'll have to give it a go.
Tumblr media
It actually went a little further in than this - this picture was taken when I was being excruciatingly careful not to break the hairpin. I was able to use a little more force to get it to slide in a tiny bit more.
I'll do a little hairpin modification and report back!
Material: Resin
Fig Count: 448
Scene Count: 30
Rating: Pure contentment!

Uh I guess I’ll put my final thoughts on tactica here.
Main Story
This had a lot of potential that I feel was missed. I liked Toshiro as a character, and seeing how the game was setting itself up to be his palace, and the consistent chiding from other characters about his crimes, I was really excited about the idea of the phantom thieves getting to know, relate to, and sympathize with someone they would have to steal the heart of and trying to figure out how with him. The game sort of took the opposite direction of that by having Toshiro do nothing wrong in his life though.
I was pretty excited when his shadow was revealed thinking ‘Wow, maybe they’ll pull a Persona 4 and he’ll have to accept the worst parts of himself to heal!’ But they took the lazy route of having his shadow just be a fake.
Erina also I feel was just reduced to being there to develop Toshiro. Don’t get me wrong, I love her, and Toshieri is extremely cute, but she’s pretty much just there to be a love interest. Both of these characters had so much potential that went wasted.
I think the thieves were mostly just their flanderized selves. They blended into the background but there was nothing too egregious. In particular, I’m glad there was no mention of the police from Makoto, and she gets to be the cool, slightly scary, and passionate senpai she was meant to be. I also like how they had Haru explain some sort of redeeming qualities her dad had, so we can see why she misses him a bit more. I still don’t like how the game lets him off the hook so much though. Let Haru realize her dad was a piece of shit 2023. And they sexualize Ann and have her be harrassed way less which is a god sent. In particular there seems to be an attempt of sorts to sand away some of the #problematic aspects of the original which is always welcome. The Ryuji wedding put a smile on my face.
Also Samael was just Yaldabaoth for a third time. It’s become comedic how many times the phantom thieves have killed/defeated Gods at this point.
One last thing: Toshiro deserved a phantom thief outfit. I’m very dissapointed they did not give that man a fruity little costume to wear.
DLC
So I maaaaaay be biased because I love Akechi and Sumire, but I liked this one way more.
Seeing these three actually get to have a full adventure together instead of the pittance we have in Royal, I felt like I was feasting like a king (no pun intended). Sumires idealism clashing with Akechi’s realism, and Akechi willing to go along if she gives him enough puppy dog eyes, her admiring his strength while he admires her kindness, is the perfect dynamic for them.
And it’s also nice seeing some softer moments from Akechi here. It’d be easy to argue that this is part of the mask, but you can really see in this game how despite his reservations, he really does come to feel for Luca and Guernica which makes sense considering his own roots match up with theirs. Honestly he probably sees a lot of himself in Guernica, as a person unable to change anything and filled with rage, driven to do horrible things by a manipulator… yeah that might hit a bit too close to home.
Sumire also feeling internalized guilt about Kasumi with Guernica and Lucas conflict is. Aaaaaugh… she’s so upset about how she and Kasumi grew apart, and she’s upset at Guernica for saying she doesn’t need her sister because she’s mad at HERSELF, but she doesn’t know it’s herself so she’s projecting it onto Guernica. Ooooh that’s so cool.
Also I liked having all the options to mess with Akechi during the story. All his thinly veiled anger moments were such a blessing.
Guernica and Luca were such good characters too. They were definitely a lot more simple in backstory than Toshiro but I think that’s for the best. Guernica has a cool design, a good backstory, and her helping out in the final boss and bonding with the PTs is a good way to endear us to her, and it’s even a little sweet how she counts Sumire and Akechi as the PTs who saved her. They aren’t ‘true’ phantom thieves, but they still helped make a persons life better, and for Akechi who wanted to be a hero, and Sumire who thought she’d never measure up to Kasumi, having them be able to save someone and make their life better is a heartwarming conclusion.
Also Jerri is just Samael again, but she gets points for being camp and slay.
Im a bit upset the trio gained collective amnesia after the story, but it makes sense that this had to happen for the sake of not having inconsistencies with Royals story. But also… CMAAAAAAAHN.
Gameplay and Graphics
I don’t usually like tactical games because I’m dumb as hell. I’m speaking as someone who really loves fire emblem awakening, I often do NOT play these games for the gameplay.
All that said, I had so much fun with the gameplay of this game. The way persona mechanics combine with a tactical rpg is so surprisingly fun. Trying to rack up ‘one more’s to travel across the board is so much fun, landing a big hit is extremely satisfying, it is SO MUCH FUN to walk up to an enemy and smack them out of their cover, and it’s so cool to land an all out attack on as many enemies as possible, it’s so much fun and I went out of my way to get every award and do every quest.
I also liked having every member of the party able to equip any persona. It helps with builds of characters, and from a story perspective it makes Joker less of a ‘special boy who’s the narratives favorite.’
I also LOVED the more steampunk aesthetic of the velvet room. The fusion animations were adorable, and if we’re moving onto art, this is the first time Lavenzas design really clicked for me. In the og artstyle I think Lavenzas design isn’t really memorable compared to Caroline and Justine, but she looks really cute here! The chibi artstyle is very cute and simple, but you can tell how much effort went into it from how the animated cutscenes with the models look just as good as the 2D animated scenes. That’s genuinely impressive and points to a lot of effort in the models!
So all in all, I think the game had a lot of missed potential but I’m glad I played it if just for the DLC.

LBSC Sprint Challenge: August
I finally completed my first sprint challenge!!
As a prompt, I chose the twitter post that said "When people are sad I let them color in my tattoos. Sometimes all they need is a shoulder to crayon" from this prompt list
I did the sprint in one go and i was surprised because i thought it would be way harder XD I'm quite happy with how it turned out. Enjoy!
@lovebugs-and-snakecharmers
The frustrated tapping of Marinette's nails against the small table halled through the greenhouse of the Liberty. With every movemet of her pencil and new line appearing on the page of her sketch book before her, with every line she removes with her eraser she felt more and more frustration piling up, until she put the pencil down, ripped the page out and threw it across the room. At this point, she had already given up on counting how many cycles of angrily sketching, erasing and ripping out she went through. Either way, she was pissed. A new, blanc page stared at her almost mockingly and she found herself fighting the urge to take the stupid book and throw it into the seine.
… No, that wouldn't be worth it. It was a good book of high quality. Throwing that anywhere would be foolish. She had payed a lot of money for that. And it wasn't like that would make her feel any less like a disappointment anyway.
These stage costumes had to be done in two weeks, yet she just couldn't find any inspiration. This was much easier the first time she had designed costumes for Kitty section. Cute little kitty masks and stuff. The skeches for those had been done in about 30 minutes. But Kitty section, now that they were older, kinda grew out of the cute kitty phase and were now reinventing their image and a rock and metal band, looking for more rock/metal appropriate designs (while still keeping the cat/unicorn theme because Rose, who never grew out of that phase and probably never will, insisted on it).
And Marinette wasn't able to do that. How should the rock and metal genre fit together with a cute kitty/unicorn aesthetic?
It's not like she didn't believe that was possible, but she had tried a good amount of designs, all of them now lying on the floor, and none of them felt right.
She rested her head on the table with a loud sigh. This was clearly not working.
She stayed like this for a short while when she heard footsteps approaching. She looked up and spotted Luka walking towards her with a glass of orange juice im his hand.
It was a hot summer day, so he was wearing a white tank top, exposing his quite toned arms and a big tattoo on his left shoulder, depicting a viper exposing it's long fangs. It was a great tattoo which suited Luka very well, though it wasn't colored yet. He had his next appointment in a few days to get it done. Until then, the viper remained colorless.
Luka put the glass down and sat next to Marinette.
„You look unhappy,“ he observed, placing a hand on Marinette's shouder and squeezing lightly.
She let out another sigh.
„Do you know that feeling when you're completely useless because you can't get anything done because you suck?“
She stretched out an arm to grab one of the papers she teared out earlier, unfolded it and showed it to him.
„Look at this... this... this disgrace,“ she whined, "it looks so bad, it doesn't do the band justice at all. Like... it makes me want to throw myself in the seine, that's how much I hated! Why am I so goddamn untalented?“
Luka chuckled.
„Watch what you're saying, that's my girlfriend you're talking about,“ he joked. It made Marinette smile.
„Sorry,“ she said. „ I guess I'm just in a really bad mood because none of the designs feel right. I want you guys to have nice stage outfits and none of those would do you justice.“
„It's ok, that happens“, Luka comforted her, „Sometimes the notes are here and you can hear them.“
He leans back on the couch and pulls Marinette along with him.
„But I just don't know how to... combine them. And it sucks, but I know you'll figure it out. You should get a break and I'm sure it'll make you feel better.“
His eyes fell on one of marinette's crayons. He smiled and picked the blue one up.
„You know,“ he said, „maybe you can just try to design something easier.“
Marinette tilted her head in confusion.
„Like what?“
„Like my uncolored tattoo“
He turned his shoulder to her.
„I haven't actually amde up my mind about what color exactly I want him to be. Maybe you could help me with that,“ he explained. „Plus...“
He put on a dorky smile.
„Plus what,“ Marinette asked, also smiling in anticipation what would come next.
„Plus, you'd have a shoulder to... crayon.“
The greenhouse fell silent for a few seconds. Marinette looked at her boyfriend as if he hadn't just made the funniest pun she had heard in a long time while he had the audacity to look back at her with this idiotic and utterly adorable grin.
Then a giggle escaped her which soon turned into loud laughter.
„A shlouder to crayon,“ she repeated in between chuckles,“You've got to be kidding me!“
Luka was laughing, too.
„I'm normally not good with puns. Come on, Medoly, you gotta give me credit for that one.“
„Ok ok,“ Marinette chuckled, „That was pretty funny. Well done.“
She ruffled his hair with her hand. Luka leaned into the touch.
Then he handed her the crayon and she started coloring the viper.
„I don't know if you know this, but I normally hate puns,“ she confessed, „Back in the days Chat noir made puns every time I'd meet him. Bad puns I might add.“
„Mostly about cats I assume,“ Luka asked.
„Yup,“ Marinette answered, „Though admittedly, some of them were funny. I just never laughed because I was focusing on fighting the akuma. And also...“
She put the crayon down and picked another one, „If I'd actually confess that he can be funny, he'd probably be so proud of himself that he'd be insuffarable.“ she laughed.
„Yeah, I can see that,“ said Luka.
„Not that I mean any offense by that though,“ she added.
They sat like this for some time, Marinette coloring Luka's arm while they came up with their own puns. People say laughter is the best medicine. Marinette found that to be true, as she felt her mood getting better with every second.
After some time, Marinette was satisfied with her work. The viper rested big and proud on Luka's shoulder in various shades of blue and green. She also put in some violet highlights to make the creature feel more alive.
„Wow,“ Luka said, „if you weren't on your way to be the worlds greatest designer, you would do great as a tattooist.“
„So you like it?“
„Like it? I love it!“
He wrapped his arm around his girlfriend and planted a kiss on her forhead.
„I will tell the tattooist to make my tattoo look exactly like that.“
Marinette looked up at him and felt really proud to have made her boyfriend this happy. She pressed her lips to his and gave him a little peck.
„Too bad I won't have that tattoo in the future to color.“
Luka chuckled.
„Don't worry babe. I have two shouders.“
