Meine Version von Yavanna: Eine der 14 Fürsten und Fürstinnen der Valar aus Tolkiens Werken. Yavannas größte Schöpfung waren die Zwei Bäume des Lichts (Telperion und Laurelin), welche lange Zeit die Länder von Valinor erhellten. Ich möchte das Bild noch mit Aquarellfarben bemalen. Aber vorher habe ich lieber noch eine "Sicherungskopie" per Foto gemacht. 😉

My version of Yavanna: One of 14 Lords and Queens of the Valar from Tolkien's world. Yavanna's greatest creation were the two Trees of Light (Telperion and Laurelin), which illuminated the lands of Valinor for a long time. I will paint the picture with watercolor paints. But before that, I preferred to make a "backup copy" with a photo. 😉

Yesterday was my birthday and today I used my new pens to practice for a project that I want to bring to you to the conventions next year: live character drawings. At my recent exhibitions I was repeatedly asked whether I would also do character drawings which you can take home with you straight away. Because my style is usually quite detailed (you know: I LOVE details 😉), this wasn't feasible for me until now because it would take far too long. So I thought I'd just practice it every day from now on with a new (faster) style so that I can offer it at my exhibitions next year. This is my first result. What do you think?

"Buddies by the Sea" - Personal Art 2023 This painting is once again a daily sketch that then became a finished picture (unplanned). 😉 I was a little longing for summer and took a photo of our vacation to Croatia this year for a study, which I then modified a bit. You can see my daughter Mina on the beach. When I showed her the painting, she was delighted with her new friend, whom she immediately named "Leo". She says that she probably played with him a lot on vacation and that you can only see him in photos and that she is happy that I took a picture with him. Oh…I just love my children's imagination!❤

Today I'll tell you about a private project of the heart that I've been working on for 2 years now: Jaquar. Jaquar is my OC (Original Character), who started out in a tabletop role-playing group, which was played weekly for almost 5 years and was based in the world of Tolkien's "Silmarillion". The group has since disbanded, but I put so much work and love into this tragic character that I want to leave a legacy to him (and myself): A graphic novel. Yes, this is a big project, I know (🙈)....but I'll finish it someday. Most certainly. 💪 And when the time comes, you can all be part of Jaquar's story. (If you want to. 😉) In the meantime, there's the cover for you and a little teaser video that's supposed to give a little insight into his tragic past. (During the 5 years of roleplaying I drew tons of paintings of and with him. Some of them I used for the video.)

Okay, it's just the fifth day of Inktober and I realize that I can't keep up anymore. In addition to working on my commissions, it is not possible for me to produce a full drawing every day. Well, then I know that now. We keep learning.😅

No matter...I'll still continue at my pace. Because it's really fun to paint with ink. So here is my contribution to the fourth Inktober prompt “Dodge”. 😊
