Okay, so, here we go! @tigresslanzhu (they are awesome please follow them) has posted her theory about why Buster has Coulrophobia. So, here's my reason! As I am too shy to post the one shot I based around this idea, here's an abridged reason:

When Buster was a kid, for his fifth birthday, he really wanted to do something special. So, his dad scraped together enough money to take him too a little restaurant downtown where, since it was his birthday, he could get a free dessert and stuff.

So they went. Buster and his dad chose a meal together and were having a really great time.

Until the employees brought out the birthday cake. One of the workers was dressed up as a clown. This person was a tiger. Now, the exaggerated makeup and huge smile was found to be very creepy by young Buster, and the tiger's huge size was not helping.

The employees set down the cake, but one of them knocked over Buster's cup of lemonade. The clown reached down to clean up the mess beside Buster with a towel, but Buster thought he was going to grab him.

Buster basically freaked out and ran off.

And who was sent to chase and catch him... but the clown.

Huge chaos ensued.

Buster is forever terrified of clowns.
