Impossible (Ch. 4)

Pairings: Mattheo Riddle x fem!Soulmate!Potter!reader.

Warnings: Swearing, some angst and my shitty writing.

Summary: Mattheo and the reader are made for each other, literally. In a world where soulmates are connected through physical and emotional pain and a tattoo on the back of their left wrist, Mattheo and the reader must struggle to find a way to cope with the fact that their soulmate is on the opposing team.

A/N: Sorry I have been meaning to update, we recently moved so everything has been kind of hectic. Also sorry for the shitty chapter, I have some ideas but it has to be in the next one, which is also going to be the last one for the 6th year.

"It's like he completely different person," Hermione said.

It's a few days after the incident in the Great Hall. Hermione had finally gotten the guts to ask me about what happened.

"I know," I said, "He can be the nicest person but he is the biggest asshole to exist. You know he's only nice to me when there are other people around."

"You don't have to worry about him anymore," She said sitting down next to me. We were in the Slytherin common room, "Everyone's avoiding him, even Ginny."

"She shouldn't, he's her soulmate," I said.

"She said she doesn't want anything to do with him at the moment," Hermione said, "It was all her choice."

"Anyway, I have to go, I'm meeting Ron for a date in about an hour," She said.

"I'll see you tomorrow," I said and waved at her as she left the common room.

Not even 5 minutes later Pansy and the boys walked in. They were out getting snacks for the night. We decided we'd have a sleep over in the common area.

"Hello love, I got your favourite!" Mattheo smiled holding up the snack as he walked over to me.

"How did you know this is my favourite?" I asked looking at him as he sat down next to me.

"I saw you stuffing your face with them during one of the daydream things," He said smiling.

"Okay, makes sense," I said chuckling.

"Hey Mattheo, come help me here," Theo said.

I had found a projector in the Room of Requirement so I asked McGonagall if I could take it.

I loved watching movies with Dudley in the living room when everyone was sleeping. We would set up the projector and make a big fort.

I was watching the boys string up the sheet. Pansy was sitting next to me, also watching them. They lifted their hands about their heads making their shirts lift, showing off their V-lines.

"Fuck I'm seriously considering going to Paris right now," I said my mouth agape.

"I'll come with you," She said and we looked at each other before bursting out giggling.

Mattheo had his arms wrapped around me as we watched the movie. Pansy was with Blaise, Draco, Theo and Enzo all laid SEPERATELY (they were secretly cuddling but they told me if I ever told anyone they would kill me).

The door to the common room opened and Dumbledore walked in with Snape. Snape puts on the light and we all sit up and look at each other confused.

"Ms Potter and Mr Riddle, please follow us," Snape said.

Mattheo and I looked at each other confused before we got up and followed them.

Mattheo was obviously nervous, Snape calling him can only be a bad thing, but Dumbledore as well? That's even worse. Mattheo grabbed a hold of my hand as we followed Snape and Dumbledore into Dumbledore's office.

As we entered, we saw Hermione and Ron with Harry standing as far away from them as possible. He glared at me and Mattheo as we walked in.

"What is he doing here?" Mattheo asked pulling me over to the other side of him, away from Harry.

"Do not worry, Mr Riddle, if Mr Potter tries anything with Ms Potter, he will be out of here faster than he can say expeliarmus," Snape said glaring at Harry.

"What is this about professor?" I asked looking at Dumbledore.

(Honestly I cannot remember much of the movies and I haven't read the 6th book yet, so the following is going to a lot of bullshit, and I am very sorry)

"When Voldemort tried to kill you and Harry, we all thought he was dead. It was his physical body that was destroyed. His soul was split into 8 pieces, Horcruxes," Dumbledore said, "By destroying these 8 horcruxes, we will have the chance to kill him."

"You two have already destroyed one of the Horcruxes when you ventured down into the Chamber of Secrets to save Ginny Weasley," Snape said as he held up the diary with the hole in the middle of it.

"Now I have located another one but I am going to need your help," Dumbledore said.

I looked over at Mattheo, I knew that he was scared, I could feel it. He was betraying his father. He looked over at me and nodded.

I turned back to Dumbledore, "How can we help?"

Seamlessness and Clarity

One of the key factors to keep in mind when writing flashbacks is to ensure they are seamlessly integrated into your narrative. Avoid abrupt transitions that can confuse readers. Instead, provide clear cues or signals to indicate that a flashback is beginning.

Utilize phrases like "In the past," "Years ago," or "I remember when" to smoothly introduce the flashback. Another tip is to employ italics or a change in font style for the flashback section to set it apart from the present-day narrative. 

Relevance and Significance

Every flashback should have a purpose that contributes to the overall story. Avoid incorporating flashbacks solely for the sake of backstory or exposition. Each flashback should offer valuable insights into the characters, their relationships, or the plot.

If your protagonist is struggling with trust issues, a flashback depicting a past betrayal or a moment of broken trust can add depth to their present-day challenges.

Avoid Info Dumps:

While flashbacks are an excellent tool to provide backstory, be cautious not to overwhelm your readers with lengthy info dumps. Instead, sprinkle relevant information throughout the narrative to maintain a steady flow.

For example, rather than presenting all the details of a character's childhood in one extended flashback, reveal crucial information gradually through dialogue, memories, or short flashback snippets.

Steer Clear of Randomness

Ensure that each flashback is purposeful and directly contributes to the understanding of your characters or the plot. Avoid including flashbacks that feel disconnected or irrelevant to the central storyline.

For example, if your story revolves around a murder mystery, avoid incorporating flashbacks that focus on unrelated events unless they have a direct impact on the mystery's resolution. A flashback scene about a suspect’s childhood friendship with the victim might seem relevant, however, unless this flashback reveals a new dynamic outside of what is already established it might not be important.

Mind the Chronological Order

It is essential to maintain a clear and coherent timeline when using flashbacks. Confusing readers with inconsistent chronology can disrupt the flow of your story and lead to misunderstandings.

For example If a character's flashback reveals a traumatic event, ensure that it aligns with the character's age and the sequence of events in the present-day narrative.

Minimize Flashback Within Flashback

While flashbacks can be a valuable tool, nesting multiple layers of flashbacks within each other can become confusing and disorienting for readers. Limit the use of "flashback within flashback" techniques.

Instead of presenting a character's memory within a flashback itself, narrate the original flashback and then transition back to the present.

By avoiding these pitfalls, you can ensure that your flashbacks remain engaging and seamless, enhancing your storytelling rather than detracting from it.

Techniques to Enhance Flashback Writing

To master the art of writing flashbacks, consider employing these techniques that will make your flashback scenes more engaging and impactful:

Show, Don't Tell

As with any narrative element, "showing" rather than "telling" is a fundamental principle of good storytelling. Use descriptive language and vivid imagery to immerse readers in the flashback scene, allowing them to experience events alongside the characters.

Dragons and Flowers - Loyalty

Ginny wasn't a bad woman, at least she didn't consider herself one. And wasn't everyone there a little grey about their decisions?

However, when it came to her family, she easily became a black and white character in a tragic comedy, and her side leaned towards that of the antagonist who would easily be called crazy by readers. She didn't care, she'd lose her mind (literally and figuratively) if it took to defend those she loved.

She could feed her dragons or burn the person alive at once, she could torture they in the dungeons or just stick a poisoned dagger in they chest. She could do many things, she was indeed a very creative woman.

And being married to Harry had made her learn a lot about ways to kill that didn't get blood on her hands or clothes, how to use the flower that grew in their greenhouse and was hidden and protected under a tame of protection magic so that Flynn, their eldest son, never found it and ended up poisoned by mistake. Just one petal was already capable of making a person go crazy inside their own mind as if an insect had entered their nervous system; they would stop talking (just screaming), move and be trapped in they own mind until they completely lost they reason and committed suicide.

Tom walks into his parents home. He kicks off his shoes before walking into the living room where his mom was sitting.

"Hey mum." He smiles at her.

"Tom dear! I didn't hear you come in." She sits up. "How are you?"

"Im good. Are Sam and Harry still coming for dinner too?" He says sitting next to her.

"Yes they are. They're gonna be a little later. How is Y/n?" Nikki asks smiling.

"She's good she's visiting family right now so I haven't talk to her yet. I hate the time differences." He says leaning back on the couch. "Mom I love her. She's just amazing, mum. She's kind, she's funny, she's so beautiful. She's an amazing mum too! I love her sons too, they're so much like her! Flynn he read to me! He's not even in first grade yet he's so smart, and Felix he is great at drawing! He drew spiderman and it was so good! I have a photo of it on my phone" Nikki has an amused smile on her face as she listens to him. She can't wait to meet you or the twins.

"You really love them don't you?"

"Yeah. How'd you know?" He laughs.

"Your eyes lit up when I asked about her. You're also bragging about those boys, it's sweet. I can't wait to meet them they must be very special."

"They are mum. I've never felt this way before about a woman. I think she's the one." He looks at her with a giddy grin.

"Im happy for you dear, I can't wait to meet her. And her sons, I've always wanted grandkids. You've been taking a while too." Nikki chuckles

"You have four kids Im not the only one who can give you grandkids."

"You are the oldest though you've had the most time."

"Yeah."

"But seriously when will I get to meet them." She smiles.

"I don't know I want to fly them here maybe as a Christmas gift but she still wants to keep me separate from the twins so maybe next summer if I don't have any projects."

"Okay, me and your dad really are happy for you."

"Thank you mum." He smiles looking down at his phone when he heard it ding. It was you, you sent him a photo of the twins and Amelia at brunch. He replies before showing the photo to his mom. "This one is Flynn you can tell cause his eyebrows are thicker than Felix's and Felix has bigger ears. The little girl is their sister, Amelia."

"Awe." She smiles looking at the photo. "They're so precious."

You were finally home. You sat the bags on the floor as the boys ran past you to the backyard. You sigh and go to the couch flopping down on it. You look towards the window the boys are playing on their playset. You pull your phone out texting your dad letting him know you got home safely before doing the same to Tom. Tom responds almost immediately says that's good. It's about 7pm here so it's about midnight there in London. You're not surprised hes aware hes been staying up late to talk to you since you became official. He calls you right as you start writing a response.

"How was the flight? Were the boys better this time?"

"It was alright, yeah they were great this time. Luckily this time we didn't wake up early and we got dinner right before the flight so they weren't cranky."

"That's good."

"How was dinner with your parents?" You ask looking out the window.

"Good."

"That's good." You say.

"Where's the boys?"

"The backyard playing. I don't know how but they have so much energy." You say taking a deep breath.

"Is it dark over there yet?"

"No they have maybe an hour or so." You says standing up and going to the back door. You could barely see them through the window of their playset.

"So you have time to talk!" Tom says you can't see it but he's grinning.

"Isn't it late for you? You should get to bed."

"No I wanted to talk to you about something actually." He says, "so you know how I told you I'm going to take a break from taking roles for a little while? Well I was thinking maybe I could get an apartment close to you. I've been thinking about applying for duel citizen ship anyway with how much I'm in America anyway."

"Really? You want to move out here?" You whispers looking outside to make sure the twins weren't listening.

"Yeah. It probably won't be till after Christmas though. But I do still want to come down for the boy's birthday."

"It would be nice having you close. And my dad will be back and able to babysit by then." You mention absentmindedly. "I'd like it but it's up to you."

"Okay."

"Uh I should go I need to get the boys asleep but I can call you back after?" You say.

"Yeah sure. Bye darling."

"Bye."

I'm 20 and I like to write.

I wanted to create a Tumblr to be able to find a creative outlet and maybe give some entertainment to some people.

I have been wanting to work on x readers, OC's and some AU's for my favorite fandoms. Some of which are:

Harry Potter, both Marauders Era and Golden Trio Era

Marvel, Matt Murdock has me in a choke hold and will not leave my mind and Loki is tormenting me along side him.

The Vampire Diaries/The Originals, Elijah Mikaelson loves to come out of the shadows when he thinks I've forgotten about him.

I have a lot of other fandoms but those are the main ones I tend to follow.

We have just received word about the death of Ted “Kingsize” Taylor. A contemporary and rival of the Beatles in their Liverpool days, Taylor and his band played the Cavern Club and found themselves an appreciative audience in Germany, where they also released records. Prior to their Hamburg debut, Cilla Black often guested on vocals with Taylor and his band.

Nicknamed because of his size, the 6.5 ft (2.0 m) Kingsize was born Edward William Taylor, on the 12th of November 1939, in Crosby, Liverpool. The Dominoes were originally formed in North Liverpool, in 1957, from a skiffle group called the Sinners. The original members were Arthur Baker (vocals), George Watson (guitar), Charlie Flynn (guitar), Sam Hardie (piano) and Cliff Roberts (drums). The following year, Ted Taylor joined, as lead vocalist and guitarist. Over the next few years Baker, Watson and Flynn all left the group, to be replaced by Bobby Thompson (bass and vocals) – with whom Taylor had played in another skiffle group, the James Boys – and John Kennedy (rhythm guitar), with Geoff Bethell standing in for Hardie on piano.

The band played local clubs and Taylor developed a reputation as one of the best rock and roll singers in the Liverpool area, as well as becoming known for his vivid chequered jackets. By summer 1960, the group were being billed as Kingsize Taylor and the Dominoes. They first performed at The Cavern Club in January 1961, when they featured 17-year-old singer Cilla White, who was mistakenly renamed Cilla Black later that year by Bill Harry in an article in his magazine Mersey Beat.

Soon after that appearance, Kennedy and Roberts left the band to join another group, Ian and the Zodiacs, and were replaced by John Frankland (rhythm guitar) and Dave Lovelady (drums). At the beginning of 1962, the band were placed sixth in a Mersey Beat readers’ poll, topped by The Beatles. Cilla Black sang regularly with the group until 1962.

In early 1962, Ken Shalliker replaced Thompson on bass for several months when Thompson temporarily joined Rory Storm and the Hurricanes. That summer, the band (without Cilla Black) went to Hamburg, where they began making regular appearances at the Star-Club. Lovelady left later in the year, and was replaced briefly by Brian Redman and then by Gibson Kemp, after Ringo Starr turned down the opportunity to join having been offered more money to join The Beatles.
