Hey so I know I don't have a lot of followers after having to re-create all my blogs after breaking my phone & forgetting all my logins but if your a MHA fan & specifically a KiriBaku shipper I could really use your guys help finding a particular fic.

I can't remember the name of the fic or the author but I remember the plot pretty well.

In this fic while quirks do exist there are no heros or villans & instead quirks are used for professional fighting (think boxing or martial arts tournaments).

Bakugou is one of these famous Quirk fighters but he's unmated aggression (yes this is an A/B/O fic don't judge me) has finally been deemed a serious enough issue by a higher up at Allmight's angency leading Bakugou to be blackmailed into taking time off under threat of being exposed as an omega (by pretending that he got injured) which would end he's career (as Omega's aren't really "supposed" to take part in Quirk fighting).

While on probation he's also been told to try out a special online therapy that turns out to be an anonymous scent match up service (bassically he sends the company a......let's call it a biological "sample" 😅, the company analyses it, send him a selection of scents to choose from then after he tells them which ones he likes he can request certain items from that donor to use for he's own purposes but the donors can also ask the same from him, both parties are free to decline such requests though).

At the same time as this is going on Bakugou has also been crushing on Kirishima (who in this AU is a former high school quirk fighter who had to give it up due to a serious injury) who now works at he's fravriote restaurant.

Bakugou & Kirishima are unable to smell what eachother are due to government enforced scent blockers.

Kirishima ends up telling Bakugou about how he used to struggle a lot with he's unmated aggression when he was younger until Fatgum pushed him to sign up to do the same scent therapy that Bakugou's agency are secretly pushing him to do & because Kirishima says it really helped him calm down Bakugou descides to give it a try & he ends up finding he's perfect scent match via one of the anonymous alphas on the website.

Meanwhile the Bakugou & Kirishima's friendship starts becoming strained due to Bakugou's growing conflicting feelings for he's favourite red head & the new mystery alpha in he's life, on top of the threat to he's career if he can't prove to he's superiors that he can keep he's biology under control.

“Oh! Are you looking for this, man? Sorry I think it fell over when I sat.” He felt the cold of the metal bottle he carried around being pressed into the back of his hand.

His hand, for some dumb reason, stuttered when he took it, making the thing complicate his life further and topple to the ground with a loud crash.

“Oops, my bad! I got it.”

“No I—”

His eyes met with crimson, the air leaving his lungs as he looked into a gaze that seemed to hold every secret in the world. Hair, that was in fact crazy and red, up in spikes, being held back with a headband.

It wasn’t even crazy, it was… gorgeous , the strands around his face framing it to absolute goddamn perfection. His lips were slightly open, his cheeks dusted pink, and wow. Wow. He…he was—

“Wow, you’re—you’re bea—Kacchan?”

Stupid. He was stupid.

They hadn’t even made a move to grab the bottle that was now probably rolling on the floor.

“Looking for this?” Sero said, his eyes now being met with his dumb bottle he was for fucking sure never bringing to school again.

“Yeah! Thanks!” The new guy said for him, taking the bottle from Sero and handing it to him.

Even the tips of his fingers sent butterflies to his stomach, but goddamn, these butterflies had claws or something.

“Aw, it's probably all dirty now. Want me to go get some water for you? I need to get something to eat anyway.”

He scoffed, rolling his eyes away from that wonderful smile.

“I’ll take that as a no, resident grump?” He laughed that unfairly pretty laugh again.

“Don’t listen to shit dumb Dunce Face says.”

“Dunce Face, huh? Do I get a nickname, too? Since we’re friends and all?” The fucker tilted his head to the side, like he wasn’t so damn adorable already.

“Who said we were friends, moron?”

“You are grumpy, I like it man!”

“Wow, man! You’re magic! Making Mr. Popular smile on your first day?”

His cheeks immediately heated at that, not even aware that the whole table of his supposed friends were watching them.

“Ah, well, I just—yeah! I…” The new guy sputtered, his own blush making him look so…yeah, pretty . There was that word again.

Summary:

Katsuki goes through his feelings about love, himself, and Eijiro.

I'm pretty sure that my own mind is a dungeon...

So I have been having a weird type of writer's block lately. It's weird because I have plenty of ideas, and I've been actively making plans for certain fanfics I'm working on, but when it comes to actually sitting down and actually writing, I can't seem to get through writing a single chapter without my mind jumping around to other topics in the same AU.

What I mean is, I'll be writing a scene, but then my brain is also simultaneously trying to figure out how to work out plot holes for completely different scenes and so when I have a eureka moment, I drop the scene that I'm doing and quickly run to another doc to write out what just popped up in my head so I don't forget it.

Which then snowballs and snowballs and snowballs and before I know it, the original scene is suddenly completely irrelevant to the plot, and I haven't actually made any progress whatsoever!

I'm sure you can imagine how frustrating this has been for me...

So I decided back on September 14th (it's the 19th now) that I was going to put both of my bigger projects on the back burner for a bit, and I decided to give myself a challenge.

Since I can't seem to finish anything that I write, I gave myself a deadline (the 23rd) and a single box to check on the syllabus of my mind.

Write a one-shot. Start to finish. Within the decided time frame. If it is not complete by the due date, post it anyway no matter what. (Yes, it can always be edited later, but I am very particular about my writing and I refuse to put out my absolute best.

So I chose a ship (ShinKami from bnha) and I chose an AU (coffee shop/college) and I started writing out basic plans with the intention to start writing as soon as I got off of work. And it was honestly going surprisingly well!

Until one idea I had sent my mind off into a spiral of possibilities.

I wanted the coffee shop to also be a bookstore and to have a very rustic sort of enchanted forest theme. And I then had to decide if I wanted the magic to be real or not so then I started looking for names I could give the shop and one thing lead to another and now I'm no longer doing a coffee shop/college AU.

This is now a full-blown fantasy AU based around dungeons and dragons and I'm having the easiest time writing than I have in such a long time!

And judging by the way things have been going, this is no longer going to be a one-shot either.

I have been consumed by this AU and guess what.

I'm already almost done with the first chapter~

This is going to be so much fun. XD

My personal timeline as a multi shipper

Here’s my controversial MHA (I know I know) ship timeline. I see a pattern of simply liking a ship because the two characters had an interesting interaction or exclusive to Izuocha, where Ochako can only likes Izuku. This is in order by timeline. I want to to spread this to show people that you are not hated by 100% of a group of anybody. We are all multi-faceted beings. My ships are based on interesting dynamics not canon-ness thereby superiority. This list is based on a timeline, not my interest.

‘Shipping’ in my case is simply enjoying the characters in a fanart or fa fiction outside of canon which is deemed more than is needed to understand the charcters. Support romantic or otherwise fanart with mainly two characters basically. It doesn’t even mean I see how they would be together in canon. Before bakudeku, I read most of these at the same time. I felt I had to have one ship only at some points too which isn’t true.

Maybe shipping for me is just liking an aspect of a story.

Izuocha. I liked this ship because it seemed like it was going to be obviously canon. I enjoy a lot of canon-ships like NaruHina, KanaTanjiro or just about any of my favorite shoujo and boys love pairings. Also a few spare girls love comics too; cute! I just thought that’s how it was. First friend and supportive and obvious.

Kacchako. I enjoyed their fight in the Sports Festival arc of mha because Katsuki didn’t hold back. I agreed with most of the crowd, he’s /kind of/ insane in how he acts at his point in the series. I fully believed he would go Sasuke or Villain route in this part of the series. I liked that he didn’t treat her differently because she’s a girl despite his intentions. Ochako put up her best fight and found something new in herself that she hadn’t before; the wit and quick thinking to fight back against a super strong unrestrained Enemy. I ended up seeing a BEAUTIFUL fanart of him sitting at a desk and Ochako sitting at a wind that was amazingly rendered. I read a lot of— let’s just say extremely out of pocket fan fiction about this rare pair. I felt insecure about this ship because it got made fun of online. Also Bakugo’s ‘nothing frail about her’ comments in the relationship connection extras. Regardless, interesting, fun, imaginative, unexpected.

KiriBaku. This seems to be the mostly widely /accepted/ ship in my opinion. I feel like it has the most support in the American fandom. Kiri was super popular at the time I joined my hero and I was deep in the weeb-tok era of 2019 through 2021(anyone else miss the “Iwa-Chan, kageyama!/ I know that I’m gonna slaughter dis” sound? And OH the cosplays). MAN I miss it it was so fun and less dodgy than boring-ass takes and blind fighting on twitter. I was a bakudeku hater at this time because I blindly believed the death threats were true. I didn’t hate the ship personally feel deep down but I thought actual death threats would’ve been too far. I often dumped mean and repetitive comments on anti-bakudeku tiktoks. I really enjoyed an actor au where the author switched the moha characters to playing their Japanese voice actors. Baku go/okamoto really wanted to play a canon gay character in the drama they were actors in but Izuku got it first which caused his continued resentment of izuku because he assumed he was not gay. It was really fun and some of the fics were very memorable and wholesome. Good times! At the transition between these two ships the fandom was all happy and the fanfics were funny and Bakugou was being supportive of his friends in his own way at this point.

Bakudeku. The plot twist of the century. But, not really. See, I hated bakudeku mostly because I wanted to fit in with the popular opinion and simple “they hate each other!!”. In order to seem normal and not insane since it was so hated. Again, I already thought bakugo’s character because it humanizes a bully in a realistic way. I usually live for those crazy ass villains anyway; it’s just anime. Death Note??? But obviously, I never would have put Bakugou in Izuku together. Rewatching season 1 that shot was terrible as fuck and heart wrenching and I feel so bad again after watching and I can see why I absolutely hated Katsuki when I watched mha. I can see why people still hate him. Again, I started looking at the fanart out of spite and saw a lot of fanart with one of them looking at the other back and watching them from behind. It’s really true to the series. It is so heart wrenching to watch and read. That’s why I like reading it. I’ve read SOO many fics where either of them die mostly Izuku, because of the suicide comment, but eventually with the event of black whip, mostly Katsuki for obvious reasons. There’s a deep theme of saving and winning and even the horror of death when you love someone so obviously I was captivated. Some fics, and I mean A LOT, basically predicted word for word the hospital scenes. I don’t like ‘I know your secret power’ tropes, but it’s there. There’s just so much between them it’s crazy. The way /The Way You Used To by: edema ruh/ has like the exact hospital scenes that LATER!!!! Happened in the manga… the death, the emotional power-ups, the connection of a separate soulmate ( ‘nother person in your body thing like the vestiges) quirk, PLUS ofa transactions inspired by two heros that canonically seem like they’re about to happen. You’ve got the Volume cover and everything to show for it too. Themes of almost Spider-Man and Gwen???? I rewatched Spider-Man 2 and it’s like huh??? And also Izuku is inspired by spider-man as well? Oh SHIT, is bakugo Izuku’s failed save? I’m gonna be SO FUCKINNG MAD if that happens, but I’m one of those people who enjoys angst a lot at the same time and I will appreciate it. I’m so everything for this ship for this ship platonic friendship or not I may just ship their friendship

TodoIIda. Usually, I don’t find a lot of my ships seeming canon except for this one. I already know that any important relationship or friendship between characters can be shipped but since they aren’t seen interacting on screen much next to the scene where iida saves him instead of going ahead, it really stuck. That must have been Horikoshi’s intention because he came back to them recently like they matter to each other. I JUST remembered the stain arc and how IIda and Shouto’s can relate on wanting revenge. Iida’s motto to help someone anywhere any time relates to Todoroki’s helplessness as a child. They’re important to each other. Friends, family.

Togachako. I didn’t consider this a ‘ship’ per se until recently, but I was obsessed with how Toga wanted become Ochako and the people she loves also how they like the same boy I guess?? Izuku seems oblivious and somehow even unrelated to their relationship even though it started it. There was this one cosplay tiktok with a poppy sound on it and I was OB- SESSED. I told you I love me some crazy simpy villains and Toga is just that. Unexpected was how Ochako starts to focus on her specifically and want to save her. I was NOTTT expecting her to say she was jealous of her smile. I was so sad when Himi said she didn’t want to talk to Chako anymore so I was PUMPED to hear people spreading the misleading togacjako canon on twitter. Toga biromantic/sapphic vampire whose blood-sucking is like kissing, is getting blood from ochsko for the rest of her life. I don’t know if toga really cares anymore. I also enjoy their possible relationship to Yuki-onna. Would love if something came out of them in canon, though I just realized toga explicated said she wanted to go out with Izuku so why can’t she do it for ochako?

dabihawks. I was SO confused why people shipped this when they barely showed their interactions. I only realized when a mostly canon style fan manga dubbed did a dabihawks comic. I then realized they are are almost the same childhood reflections of each other, neglected, abused by their parents

As an end note, I learned that every ship dynamic has to be romantic, but usually it is because of recent fan culture. I’m 15 but I know a lot about older fandom because I was an avid Kaichou Wa Maid Sama fan and used the less popular fan fiction.net. People are a lot nicer on fanfixtion sites than on social media sites, I’ve learned also older fandoms didn’t get massively hated on like MHA does. There’s just more people in the world who watch now. Remember to be yourself because there’s always someone feeling just like you out there, I promise. Chaio;3

okay so my opinion here might be a bit controversial but i'm so cray cray i'm so brave i'm such a warrior in this fandom i'm just gonna say it:

i don't really like the zosan...

(btw i don't wanna spread hate but i'm too lazy to censor the ship name and tbh idk if it also shows up in the fyp if it's said in the ask??? i talk a bit negatively about it, so don't read it if you ship them in case it might bother you <3)

i love their dynamic and i've been saying they need to fuck since, like, the moment they started fighting on screen. the sexual tension is immaculate, please, just fuck already god- half of their problems would be solved asap if zoro pinned sanji against a wall already and fucked him so hard he spoke french.

i like the fact that although they're always arguing, they understand and trust each other when it comes to serious stuff. like yeah, we fight but we are not letting this affect the crew as a whole. they're just two very proud bastards who hate admitting they don't actually dislike each other that much. their whole dynamic is great in canon!!!! love to see them. i enjoy them a lot. they need to fuck already (saying this tho does not mean i ship them to an extreme extent. i just know gays when i see them).

however!!! i think my dislike towards the ship comes mainly from the fandom. because personally i enjoy them in canon and i like the content some people make of them (god knows i reblog zosan more than it looks like), but... the 90% of the content and shippers just make them so out of character they stress me tf out. i see a zosan shipper and i never know if they're the good kind or not and i start shaking with fear. and i'm a person that believes in "ship whatever tf you want bc everyone has different tastes and i'm not that crazy to fight over fictional characters and what other people like", but, y'know, bad experiences from my past idk.

they're not even in my top 10 op ships, but they exist. they're there. they're fun. they're cool, i guess. i feel very indifferent about them and if i see a cute/hot zosan thing i'll reblog it. but i don't seek content of them, y'know (unless i'm in a very sanji nsfw mood and the horniness takes over my original preferences. sometimes i just want sanji to be topped, i apologize).

but yeah, i'm very "meh" about them and the thing that makes me not really like them is the fandom, mostly. because there are some zosan shippers out there that just....................... they remind me of kiribaku shippers saying their ship is queerbait when it's very obviously NOT queerbait and claiming them to be canon when they're obviously not canon and etcetcetc. that, and the fact that a lot of people write/draw them extremely out of character. personally, for me soft zosan (i love soft zosan bc i'm a softie) could only work after a long-ass development and they'd still act like the idiots they are. that being said, nsfw zosan works every time in every universe bc, again, the sexual tension is tangible, man. and somehow people manage to do it out of character????? lmao.

people are SO obsessed with this ship bc it's easy to sexualize and easy to write because "haha boys fucking haha fighting haha" which is uhhhhhh not my thing, really. like i do love nsfw zosan but it also has to be written extremely in character and- idk i think that it's just on me.

basically, i'm indifferent about them and when i see people so so so hyped i just don't really get it. and then there's people that actively believe that they're queerbaiting and that instantly makes me angry, which translates into not liking the ship for a while. and when i go back to being indifferent and liking some stuff of them, i just don't really care much? and then i see someone writing them ooc and i dislike them again and- that over and over and over again.

and okay this whole thing seems stupid but i've had past experiences in fandoms and tbh saying that you don't like THE popular ship is like yelling at the shippers to attack you.

but, yeah, to summarize: i'm indifferent about them. i like them in very specific situations and content. most of the shippers and ooc content make me mad (which is like, most of them). but!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the thing is: when zosan is done well, zosan is great. but when it's done out of character??? i can't fucking stand it.

i'm kind of contradicting what i said about not liking them because i do like them?? i just don't like them THAT much or to that extent and it has to be a very specific flavor?? and the shippers and content make me so mad sometimes i just stop reading fics or looking for content idk. i guess what i'm trying to say is that:

-> canon zosan cool

-> fanon zosan makes me dislike them

-> i don't really care and since this fandom is literally FULL of that ship i just have to live with it idk they're fine ig

"STALKER?? I'M CONFUSED??"

I just remembered how some people (they know who they are) like to call Izuku "stalker", specifically Katsuki's "stalker" when... he's totally not.

Observant, yes.

But stalker?

This kid doesn't even follow people to their houses, steal clothes or make phone calls so he can just breathe on the other end and hang up.

At best, he was around Katsuki as little kids because THEY DID LIVE IN THE SAME AREA, HELLO. But as they got older? It is clearly shown he was a loner. He was outcasted. By coincidence, he was in the same area when the Sludge Villain attacked Katsuki.

Hell, even once they get to Yuuei, we see Izuku making his own friends and shows no sign of being jealous of Katsuki having relationships with Kirishima or the other kids. He even acknowledges it. Even with Kaminari, he doesn't tell him not to call Katsuki "Kacchan", which Kaminari doesn't even do often.

In class, he doesn't even seem to care that he's sitting behind Bakugou. He's just there! You know how in those films where the girl is conveniently seated behind her crush and she swoons? Yeah, I haven't seen Izuku do that. He just pays attention to whatever teacher is teaching the lesson and even when class is out of session, he's joining in other conversations or thinking about his training.

And it's not like Katsuki is the only one Midoriya takes notes on. Notably, his kicks are Iida-inspired and later he even takes a page out of Asui's book. Also, hello, he is also an All Might fan and his (punching) moves are literally the same moves as All Might's, just with a twist.

At best, Midoriya is just curious and takes in information like it's cake. He asks questions, he pays attention. The content of why he does it isn't ill-intent. He's a student and learning as a student does. Be it math or heroics.

But "stalker"?

Oh no. I don't know about ya'll, but it wasn't Midoriya listening in on other people's conversations. I'm just saying.

Really I just think it's anti - BkDks and anti - Midoriya’s (can't believe they even exist) throwing in something to make their own faves and ships look better.

Which you don't have to?

When and why in the fuck did shipping become competition?

That's not even fun.

If anything, it just damages the value of the characters (be it a character you like or hate) and story because people just can't handle that there is a ship others like other than their own. Oh, how awful!

Seriously though, Izuku doesn't have to be your favorite character nor do you have to practically care for him, but calling him "stalker" is so far-fetched to me. Just my opinion. He ain't an obstacle to your ship, chill. It's not some competition or whatever, relax.

It's fiction.

Also, I remember seeing how someone saying that BkDks are trying to force Izuku and Katsuki to be friends or more or something along those lines. I don't really remember and don't care to. Just...

When the hell was this and what side of the fandom were you on?

Last time I checked, shippers don't have no power over what THE CREATOR, KOHEI HORIKOSHI, does with his damn story. And if you're seeing toxic BkDk shippers, every ship has those toxic shippers, then get the fuck away from them! Because trust me, there are some shippers that may ship BkDk but they probably like other ships, too, or just wanna talk about a funny meme they found, or even gush about their favorite fight scene. All without the need to talk about BkDk.

Example, I do like KiriBaku, but I have moots that don't. I don't mind it because I can still talk to them about the latest episode or a headcanon I have. At the end of the day, I don't lose sleep and I'm not crying because "Wah, my moots don't like my ship". They don't like KrBk, so what? There's more to BNHA than some damn ships.

Overall, I just don't see the need to mischaracterize characters and twist the story because of ships. It's just stupid to me. 🤷🏿‍♀️

I don't want to seem selfish, demanding or anything...but I was wondering if I could request some fanart based on my KiriBaku 1950's AU? I really love your art-style so much, it like itches my brain just right, if that makes sense, and I would totally be honoured if you did something with my fic as a reference. You totally don't have to if it makes you uncomfortable! But if you are interested it's titled 'Love, Katsuki' and can be found on AO3 and Wattpad (my user for wattpad is YaLocalBookAddict and for AO3 it's YaLocalFanFicAddict).

Another thing too is that I won't repost it or use it in anyway! I only thought it could be a silly little thing to request in case you run out of ideas on what to draw. (Not that it's probably happens to you a lot, haha!)

I will preface by saying that hate is a strong word for what I feel abt these characters and would prefer to describe it as "apathy" no I'm not saying this as a desperate measure to prevent myself from being stoned to death why would you say that

You have to understand that I joined the fandom in 2017 and people were so fucking annoying abt these three. It was impossible to go into the tags back then and not run into posts like "You're a bad person if you dislike Tsuyu/Momo" or "It's possible to dislike Kirishima/Tsuyu" blablabla. And I'm the kind of person that if you try to shove something down my throat I will spit it back in your face just to prove a point.

I understand fans wanting to hype up their favs but I found Tsuyu and (especially) Momo to be extremely underwhelming so that behavior just turned me off. & Kirishima is bc the kiribaku fandom were a fucking menace back in the day.

Despite my feelings for them, they're all good characters that deserved better opportunities to shine (rip all the ex-naruto/class 1A fans that wanted to see the konoha 13 done right)

I never understood the trend in dabihawks fics to write Hawks as the functional sane perfect emotional support bf. He is an emotionally constipated indoctrinated murder chicken with serious mommy & daddy issues, how tf does that translate to perfect bf?

*widely gesticulates at Miruko's entire character* Miruko is the perfect example of widespread fanon characterization being absolute garbage. I get the knee jerk reaction of wanting to save her from Horikoshi's questionable writing, but in the process the fandom sand down all her rough ("problematic") edges & just leave her an empty soulless sock-puppet wearing Miruko's skin. Canon Miruko doesn't have much going for her but somehow Fanon Miruko manages to be even more shallow. #sorrynotsorry

I'm gonna get flack for this but I don't like the way fandom tends to portray found family. It feels inauthentic to me, especially when dealing with dysfunctional self-destructive and emotionally constipated individuals like the LOV. Found Fam LOV used to be my jam but I've grown tired of it 😔

And speaking of the LOV.... I love Spinaraki but I don't like the way most of the fandom interprets and depicts their relationship. Spinner's fanatic devotion to Shigaraki isn't healthy. Idk if I've talked abt it on this blog before but I see a lot of parallels between Killugon (hxh) and Spinaraki.

(Incoming spoilers for hxh chimera ant arc) In both cases you have person A (Gon/Shigaraki) going down a self destructive path, fueled by self loathing and person B (Killua/Spinner) that is extremely devoted to person A but bc of their lack of self worth is unequipped to truly help them and in the process unintentionally enables them.

I'm all for witnessing unhealthy devotion in fiction, I eat that shit up. But it does make me uncomfortable when I see people interpreting it in a purely positive light.

This is my first ever post on Tumbler. Imma post a bunch of art dedicated to my fan fiction, answering your questions, and so on. This fan fic is time travel, vigilante Midoriya Izuku fic, it's currently incomplete, but the estimated chapter count is 25 and I hope to finish it by then. If you have any questions regarding the fic, please don't hesitate to ask. The uploading schedule is every Friday, however, the time of day when it is posted varies.

As of now, it stands at 11 chapters and 27089 words, however, I will be editing the fic once the last chapter is released, so the finished fic won't really be finished, will it? Or at least not until I edit it.
