"It's no problem YN"- he says, leading you the to gym

When you enter, Iwaizumi's senses tingle

"Whats wrong? What happened?"- Iwa

"Some guys were just messing with YN, I handled it"- he says, putting the crates down and lacing his fingers with yours

LACING as in intertwined 😫

"YN-CHAN ARE YOU OK?"- Oikawa, running up to you

Pls Kyotani growls at him 🤣

"I'm fine Oikawa"- you halting the madness

The match is about to start when Kyotani looks at you

"Sit on the bus with me when we leave ok?"- Kyo, giving zero facial expressions

ok i feel bad for runar but i also know spoilers. like i said this is like the 3rd time. y'shtola is the Best at getting herself into Situations and then weaseling out of said Situations by the skin of her teeth. maybe this time it cost her an arm. why doesn't y'shtola have that lasso spell

what is emet selch up to

well that was quick last time she was gone for an expansion and a half

the whole sundering/rejoining thing is really christian now that i think about it. emy is so depressed.

in the jp emet-selch specifies that it is the original ascians, not just all ascians.

what stuck me initially about ffxiv and also annoyed me early on is that the day night cycle is a equal ratio of 12 hours night to 12 hours night. and I was annoyed because the night lighting is bad so every half an hour or whatever I'd have to turn my monitor brightness up, and then down, and a up again. BOTW and other games deal with this by making it summer in the temperate/higher latitudes so day iss 16 hours and night is 8. However I have come to appreciate ffxiv's equal day/night cycles (as annoying as it can be) in terms of it's thematic significance, especially here in shb. the day/night cycle happens when the shard's light and dark aether are better in balance. in contrast to everlasting light where there is only day

wow. ok. i had the cutscene on autoplay so i missed a good chunk of it but thancred's and minfilia's lines when confronted by ran'jit in ahm areng are very different between the japanese and english scripts. i might look up the differences later because they're very important. in the past4 expansions in general the jp is more specific and I'd say deeper where as the eng will simplify or gloss over things

weren't thancred's aetherial pathways or whatnot already damaged from flow. ok yeah i know he's not dead which is a good time to bring up how i hate fakeout deaths and how the devs have been cowards since the end of hw for not killing off characters.

and i got so distracted by that i almost forgot i came here to say that thancred's final confession is that he considers himself minfilia's (ascilia) onii-san

the 5 companions combined? were absorbed into minfilia, but she stops ardbert? because "its not his time" the phrasing reminds me of when minfilia hiveminded and got absorbed into hydaelyn

I always disliked the localization of hikari-no-miko to oracle. for one the prophecy thing never comes up especially for the new minfilia. and two it removes the overt religious language that makes a lot more sense. like it's shady af that some secret cult is running around eorzea and recruits you. the worship of the twelve as a whole is weird and that's how the path of the twelve and then the scions market themselves. also minfilia straight up got absorbed by hydaelyn, she is the priestess of light.

no words from the minfilias about how the light is corrupting the pc and turning them into a lightwarden?

oh? given how that was going I assumed baby minfilia changed her mind about giving up her existence to fully incarnate old minfilia. but she just lost all the physical traits for hydaelyn's mouth piece like the glowy blue eyes and blond hair.

what does that mean. also it was always her own life. so she lost the minfilia appearance but gained the minfilia powers. that's certainly symbolically unusual.

yeah no. when older minfilia was like "you've learned to love yourself" I was like press X to doubt. i don't think she still has yet to love herself

i will say one thing for rdr2. it had the guts to kill off the protag and make you play the post game as someone else.

Given the other christian imagery (church of first light) i found it weird that there's 5 light wardens (lakeland, ill mheg, raktika, ahm areng, kholusia) when they seem to be paralleling the 4 archangels. Also weird that 3 of them are named after the greek ideals of love but not all the types of love and not all the lightwardens. I can't tell if shb is using christianity for the aesthetic the way of a lot of japanese media do because it's cool and edgy or if this is actually meaningful. I'll have to think about this after i finish 5.0 (in 10 years lol)

The recap kind of implied that Misty's going down for murder which I'm not exactly happy with but would prison be any worse than whatever everybody else is headed for?

I can't believe Shauna is the one going along with this

Ok, nevermind. She's just bullshitting.

Lottie is doing remotely better.

Misty's got several points. Lottie did start it. Or at least she let it go on and maybe relished in it a little. I'm guessing now she realises how heavy the crown is she'll want it gone. And there's hints of Nat wanting it. It's ceremonial though cause Van and Misty hold the real power. The crown may lead but they're the ones that choose to follow.

You don't need to bump into Shauna, Travis, it's not like she wants to do this

The way they have to dust their equipment because it's been so long since they had something to eat.

Oh crap, tell me Van's not buying into Lottie's thing. It's sweet that she wants to help Lottie but I think she's beyond helping, and she has been for a long time. The problem is that Van and Lottie are looking for some sort of purpose and they're looking to the old ways for fulfilment because they just can't cope with everything having been for nothing, whereas Tai has tried to make her own meaning by ignoring the past and it's all just jumbled and nobody is 100% right but hunting one another is definitely wrong.

That's twice we've seen Nat with a Queen card in as many episodes so the symbols are definitely symbolising something here.

Where the fuck are Callie and Jeff going? Are they gonna pick Shauna up?

Nat trying to save this girl feels like Shauna trying to save Javi or Javi trying to save Nat and I'm positive one if then is dying tonight.

Well I guess that's another piece of the puzzle squared into place. Nat and Travis's self loathing and guilt stem from Javi's death.

Van could sell ice to an Eskimo. You'd be a fool to think her financial troubles ever stemmed from lack of sales skills. Jeff could learn a lesson or ten from her.

Honestly though I'm proud of her for not feeling shame. That's literally life or death, you can't afford to add self loathing onto that. And Nat is the perfect example of that. She spent the rest of her life letting the guilt eat away at her. They all did in some way but Nat gave her ghosts so much power they choked the life out of her.

Anyway this Walter guy always seemed like he's too good a match for Misty and that's why I don't trust him. It almost seems like he's imitating her and he feels very performative and not at all genuine. He comes across as someone who steals personalities and seems maybe a bit psychopathic on his own. He's giving Hannibal, just a tad...or some trained assassin. Either way it spells trouble and I think he's using Misty.

He really wants to be the Watson to Kevin's Sherlock.

If they're gonna warn Shauna and actually be helpful maybe I'm a little glad Callie and Jeff are here. But knowing them, they'll probably screw things up worse.

What the fuck does this guy want is the question then. Cause on the one hand he's obsessed with Misty and on the other he keeps making shit worse for her. Is he into her or trying to capture her? Either way he's shady af.

Nat and Misty wearing purple but Van not is so wild. Symbolic, probably too. But funny Van is not wearing it when she's by far sucked in the deepest, while Nat -always sceptical- and Misty -way too much of an opportunist to ever really commit to one thing- were the ones wearing the indoctrination colours there.

I guess it says more about Van hiding her true colours than anything else. She hid her sexuality even in the woods for example, until Taissa was comfortable with coming out. So maybe it's like she doesn't feel confident enough to show that vulnerability by wearing those colours. She HAS been avoiding talking about her illness too. It could be her avoidant personality too. Not just hiding but avoiding it all together.

I had to stop for a while because I was in physical pain from the crying

Every thing was a blur. Lottie is getting help though, maybe. Walter might not be complete trash. Shauna really doesn't have a single maternal bone in her body. Like instead of comforting her child she's being comforted by Jeff.

Taissa was walking in front of Van. I sense conflict there. Maybe deep down she blames her for what she's done when she's around her. It was almost like he was walking away from her or trying to put some distance between them. She did say they would visit Lottie and perhaps she meant the group but perhaps she meant the two of them.

I don't expect their relationship to have been fixed. I certainly didn't think they'd magically get over past resentment offscreen but they only have a very limited amount of time and I am terrified of what's going to happen next season between them.

Misty breaking down that she killed her best friend though absolutely destroyed me. I'm just absolutely broken right now. I can't imagine how it could possibly get worse, though I'm afraid it will. There's way too much time left in the episode for shit to not hit the fan at least one more time.

Meanwhile past Shauna is just casually blogging about their most recent murder on her diaries. Well, she's writing about Jackie really. How Jeff read these and didn't realise she was in love with her is beyond me. Or maybe he did and he considered staying with her his repentance for his role in all of this.

It seems like she's maybe hitting some breakthrough when she notices something's amiss. And there's fire and stuff and I'm guessing Ben put those matches to use on the cabin.

I'm glad I never rooted for his ass.

They just lost the one shelter they had. In the middle? Of winter? And if the meat shack is attached to it then all their food is also gone as well and they're gonna be hunting sooner rather than later.

I'll put my reasoning below the cut. Warning, spoilers:

Yang - best guy because he's an extremely unique love interest. His route was what I personally wanted from a 'mafia' game, and Yang was kind of darkly fascinating and sexy. Problematic to the max but oh so entertaining. His VOICE too oof 👌

Gilbert - he's OK, he's a guy I'd grab a drink with. Not especially interesting but he's nice to Lili and makes her feel welcome, plus his blasé, amiable personality is hilarious when they have to interact with the Lao Shu during his route. Loses points because he's strangely OOC feeling in Orloks route and becomes so friggin unreasonable. I don't mind him doing shady stuff but it has to align with the Gilbert we see in his own route or it just feels like a completely different guy, which it does 😂

Like where was this guy during his route??? Plz I wanna see him be ruthless in his own route or he feels disingenuous 😭

Orlok - not much to say, as I don't personally vibe with religious stuff and this is the deeply religious route so *shrug* he's the cinnamon roll so he's instantly a bit boring to me (sorry) but he's sweet. I don't think they handled his upbringing very well. Why the heck wasn't his father held more accountable for Orloks messed up upbringing? It's kind of swept under the rug. Lili is also extremely self-righteous and annoying in this route.

Nicola - friggin boring route. Lili becomes so strangely attached to him and hangs off any scrap of attention he throws her way, it's just an awful route. Very painful to have to sit through. Getting coffee isn't what I came here to do 😭

Dante - ah. Friggin. Dante. Where to start. Well you spend a good chunk of chapters during his route under house arrest. Get friggin used to Lili's room at the Falzone manor, you're gonna be seeing a lot of it!!! Leo is more like your love interest here. Dante is absent and when he does show up, he's lying Lili about sister Sophias death (but waa it's to protect her waaa) and ordering her not to go outside. I usually love Kuuderes but Dante is just... No. He's a whiny baby who shouldn't be a mafia boss (yes the game acknowledges this, no it doesn't make it ok. I personally wanted a mafia boss when playing a MAFIA game, not a guy trying to be one so BAD he can't take sugar with his coffee because its not manly. Grow up.) He makes weak decisions and falls apart from stress so friggin easily I'm surprised he can stand his backbone is so weak. I don't see Orloks routes Dante as ooc at all actually, though I'm sure people would disagree. Him falling apart and becoming an entitled monster is in line with what I've seen from him in his own route imo, it's just been twisted. Anyhow, wasn't a fan 😂

Henri - Henri is somehow worse to me than Dante for the sheer fact that his route wasted my time. 2 chapters pretty much is dedicated to this guy, and for what??? Lili just up and leaves her home and family for a guy SHE'S HAD A FEW TALKS WITH. because she feels sorry for him. They're not even romantically involved. They buy a house in France and adopt kids, only for Henri to say 'eh I don't really like kids' (THEN WHY DID YOU ADOPT THEM) and then proceed to say later on that Lili is too young for him. Waste of damn time. Whenever he shows up during the Finale, all he does is judge Lili for her choices. That's literally all he does. Lili shouldn't even give him the time of day but nooo she 'just can't leave him alone.' bad. Not good. 😂

OOF so much more than i can share here lol. im not sure how much you know about the goths, but i’d definitely recommend checking out more about bella’s disappearance, don’s shady engagement to cassandra, and ESPECIALLY mortimer 👀 that man’s hands are not clean and i’ll die on that hill. also within pleasantview is one of my favorite families, the brokes. a single mom who’s husband mysteriously died (aka she unalived him)? sign me up! and strangetown is a whole entire entity of its own with a serial killer and her son that was taken in by scientists who experiment on him, a set of brothers who make contact with aliens and now two of them have alien children to care for, and much much more. sims 2 had a lot of interesting and different themes within the stories of the premade sims, there’s so many families who connect to each other in interesting ways. of course the best way to experience and explore all of that is through playing the game, but it’s pretty hard to get your hands on these days (at least not in ways that i can legally say you should get it *wink*), so i can also recommend checking out fan wiki’s for sims 2 worlds and the sims that live within them! from what i’ve seen they tend to be pretty accurate, mostly taking from sim bios and things like that! i could honestly go on forever about sims 2 and the premades but i don’t think anyone has time for any more than this wall of text i’ve already spewed out lmao

Disclaimer: this is my first read thru but I’ve watched the first 4 episodes of the show and been spoiled on some things. So… I’m going to lean into that. Enjoy figuring out what I know and what I think in know and what I don’t. Also s/x I add commentary when I edit.

Headaches and numbness and exhilaration all mixed together, and you taking foolish chances or acting giddy.” -Moiraine describes the potential after affects of using the power for the first time. (I later learn- it’s not just the first time but for a while after until they stop having rxns and then die, usually)

The healer can sense the one they healed. Ok. And for a long time it sounds like.

Megatron- leader of Conclan.

Star'Scream- Deputy of Conclan (and sometimes a rogue too-)

Knockout- Former Medicine cat of Conclan but now Medicine cat apprentice of Autoclan

Ratchet- Medicine cat of Autoclan and former Deputy of Autoclan before Ultra'Magnus came.

Sound'Wave- Uhh, probably the second Deputy or maybe the temporay Medicine cat of Conclan

The vehicons & Breakdown(when he was alive tho)- Warriors of Conclan

Bumblebee, Smokescreen, Bulkhead, Arcee, Wheeljack- Warriors of Autoclan

Sky'Fire, Airachind and Predaking- Rogues

Sky'Warp, Thunder'Cracker, Breakdown, and many others- Starclan or Darkforest dead cats

Miko, Jack, Raf, June and MECH- Twolegs

Now for their territories and such, I guess?

Conclan- Probably either in a dark alleyway with lots of trash that has food and such, or maybe in a dark shady dark oak forest.

Autoclan- Probably in a birch or oak forest, and some little water ponds dotting around the territory. Or maybe living in a twoleg den backyard. Y'know, where their human friends are!

The rogue area- Probably in a abandoned cabin that has little food sources, but has lots of places to hide and to sleep. Yes, lots of places to roam around as well!

Starclan and Darkforest are pretty much the same like in the books.

What about the adventures within these two clans? Like some funny moments or something?

Oop. Okay then.

Star'Scream has placed thorns in Megatron's nests a few times, but so far, Megatron hasn't figured it out it was him. Star'Scream thinks it's amusing.

Megatron and Sound'Wave both think that Star'Scream might be a prophecy cat, due to his name starting with 'Star' and knowing 'Starclan' starts with 'Star'. But they both refuse to give Star'Scream any special treatment and treat him like any other normal cat. Well, in Megatron's case, hurt him and such.

Whenever Star'Scream is a rogue, he is just, there. He usually stalks the cats of Autoclan or just hunt on his own. Of course, he tries to avoid twolegs(MECH especially!)

Wheeljack is a traveller, so he doesn't stay in one place for very long. But occasionally he would visit Autoclan or maybe just to see his mate, Ratchet.

Optimus and Star'Scream secretly meet up at night sometimes, cause I ship them. They sorta just cuddle and talk until they decide to part ways.

Ratchet soon joins on the Star'Scream prophecy theory with Megatron and Sound'Wave, so he tells Optimus. So Optimus is the only that actually gives Star'Scream special treatment but it just leaves Star'Scream super confused.

In Star'Scream's younger days, as a Apprentice. Him, Sky'Warp and Thunder'Cracker were the chaotic trio but Thunder refuses to call himself as chaotic, since he has at least some maturity but unfortunately, he can be chaotic as well.

When they were apprentices, Thunder'Cracker, Sky'Warp and Star'Scream would always race from camp to the rogue place. But Star'Scream usually ends up winning. Sky'Warp doesn't mind it but Thunder'Cracker thinks it was a little unfair.

Ratchet thinks Star'Scream is the most annoying Conclan cat that existed in his life.

Sound'Wave is usually forced to be a support therapist for Star'Scream, and trust me, they do NOT like it at all. Star'Scream doesn't like it either.

Knockout got wet one time in the rain, and he absolutely hated it. So Breakdown had to warm him up since Knockout looked like a wet rat whenever his fluffy fur is soaked. Star'Scream finds it amusing.

Is there anymore stuff we should know about the au?

Well, the war is over but Megatron wanted to remain different clans. Optimus understands and didn't plan on convincing him. No sacrifices were made. And as for Star'Scream, he is a rogue in the current moment cause of this and knowing he can't go back. Since Predaking still roams.

Star'Scream is severely traumatized and terrified of the predacons(or the hunting cats in this au), especially Predaking himself. So Star'Scream chooses to stay as a rogue until the perfect time.

But he is very injured so he's fending for himself until he can actually go back and rejoin Conclan.

But both of the clans and the humans thinks that Star'Scream had finally perished, so they don't complain or worry. Though Optimus is dearly worried for Star'Scream and still has hope that he's still alive.

I still haven't decided if the clans will reunite with Star'Scream though. But he will reunite with Sky'Fire. It will be a heartwarming reunion.

Star'Scream and Sky'Fire will be super close like before the war but Sky'Fire develops a much bigger crush on Star'Scream, unaware that he was already taken.

Sky'Fire will understand once he finds out.

But I'm still not sure if Star'Scream and the two clans will reunite again but until then, he will definitely cause trouble and other shenanigans. Whether if it involves a Clan or both, or just a specific cat.

Star'Scream chooses to go off alone, Sky'Fire usually wants to come but Star'Scream is very distant. He was close with Sky'Fire but he didn't want to go through more pain of losing a loved one again, so he distances himself from his positive emotions and Sky'Fire. He tries to focus on helping himself instead.

Can I ask why you hate Batman and Robin Eternal? (it was my first DC comic ever, my dad bought it for me in one of his trips even though I didn’t know anything about the batfam or comics in general lmao). It’s been so long since the last time I read it I don’t even remember what it was about (I do remember enjoying it in that moment but it may have also been because it was a gift and the drawings were cool lol)

Aww, that’s very sweet. There are certainly bits of the comic that are enjoyable. I’m pretty sure that I’m actually in the minority when I say that I don’t care for it...but since you asked lol, there are several things about these comics that really rub me the wrong way. This is pretty negative (and way longer than I’d planned), so be warned.

For starters, Dick Grayson was just...not treated well by his family members in these comics. It felt particularly brutal here specifically...I think because Dick would say very harmless things, and his family’s responses in return were so abrupt and unreasonably harsh. Like, Dick says that he’s glad to see Batgirl, and wonders what some kids are doing dressed as Robin...

Batman and Robin Eternal #4

And Batgirl bites his head off. Or, there were times where Dick would just be hanging out in the general vicinity, and people would just take shots at him out of the blue for seemingly no reason.

It felt like he could barely breathe without someone criticizing him for it. At one point, Dick confesses that he’s feeling discouraged, and Damian’s response is to punch him in the face.

Which is a pretty good summary of the family’s treatment of him in these comics to be honest. Just literally, lashing out at him for zero reason while he just takes it.

One scene in particular that really frustrated me was this one:

You know, that other time in this comic series where one of Dick’s family members punches him in the face while he, once again, takes the hit and does nothing to retaliate. Good times.

For context...the big bad in these comics is a villain known as “Mother.” Her speciality is brainwashing. She placed several of her “children” in high-profile positions in order to enact her plans, even managing to infiltrate Spyral. In a message left for Dick, Batman specifically explains that “Anyone could be under her control, Dick. They could be people you know. People you love…they probably will be” (Batman and Robin Eternal #1).

Unlike in Pre-52, Tim’s background is largely a mystery. He’s acting suspiciously. So, Dick takes it upon himself to investigate and ensure that Tim’s not one of Mother’s plants.

On Tim’s side of things, he’s upset that Dick investigated behind his back and found out where he’d secretly had his parents living for their safety. Dick unintentionally brought danger to their doorstep (though, notably, no one was actually hurt). But Tim’s pissed, and punches Dick in the face.

Not gonna lie, this was hard to take. I mean, even if Tim was in the right in this argument (which he lowkey isn’t in my eyes), that still does not make it ok for him to just punch Dick out of the blue when Dick is, as pictured above, just talking to him.

And the hypocrisy that Tim is displaying here is stunning. How he had previously told Dick off for keeping secrets from the family by going undercover with Spyral, when he in fact had a whole secret family tucked away in a corner. How he tells Dick off now for invading people’s privacy, when just earlier in this very comic he had planted surveillance devices in Stephanie’s apartment without her consent.

How Tim storms off and goes on a solo mission with Jason because Dick’s supposedly too personally invested and thus compromised, when he just got so emotionally unhinged that he lost his shit at Dick and punched him. Once again, may I just say, simply stunning.

But does Tim ever face any consequences for this behavior? Oh, of course not! Instead, we get Jason joking about how great it is to punch Dick in the face when he is not even fighting back.

And everyone collectively piling on to Dick and blaming him, even though he had legitimate concerns. Awesome.

And Dick just continues to take it. Not once does he stand up for himself. It’s so hard to read him continually get shit on, I’m sorry. And it’s crazy how they treat him this way, and yet still ultimately look to him for encouragement and rely on him to save the day in the end? You hate to see it.

I also didn’t like what they did with Cass. I know, I’m just full of complaints. But they really watered her down. With Pre52 Cass, you could actually describe facets of her personality. She was compassionate, had a very refreshing, sassy sense of humor, etc. She wasn’t just...mysterious action girl who has a dark past and cries occasionally. I mean, there were moments where I could see glimpses of personality (the time she visited the ballet being the main one), but on the whole she punched people when needed, and otherwise just stood there as people talked about and around her. Essentially a prop for the story.

Batman and Robin Eternal #24

Another thing that makes me so uncomfortable (that I couldn’t pin down until I read this post here) is the fact that this comics version of events makes it so that Cass’ own backstory no longer has her as the focus; it’s not about her emotional struggles and journey. By having Cass kill Harper’s mother rather than a random man, it makes the story about Harper, and about Cass gaining Harper’s forgiveness. So...more using Cass as a prop...as an element of someone else’s story in what is supposed to be her origin!

Honestly, I have no idea why Cass would want to stay with the Bat-family in these comics anyway...her previous mentorship with Barbara Gordon is nonexistent. She’s no longer Batgirl. The two people who were once her closest friends treat her horribly.

As if she’s barely a person. Once again, sooooo hard to read this. Why.

Yeah, I could go on forever nitpicking here. You probably got a sense of it already, but I absolutely despise how Tim is characterized here. Most of the time, he’s an ass. Jason also had pretty inconsistent characterization. And I really don’t like how the whole comic treats Robin like something Batman owns and is meant to benefit from, rather than as something Dick created. I don’t like how Cain was “redeemed” in the end, and that Cass took on the name Orphan instead of Black Bat or Batgirl. Once again, how is she connected to the Bat-family exactly? And I don’t like how Dick’s time as Robin is portrayed.

The existence of this comic...drives me insane...

It’s also the worst time to be doing a “Does Batman treat his kids like child soldiers?” arc considering it is coming on the tail end of Spyral, aka that one thing that Dick did because Bruce beat the shit out of him and forced him to.

Nightwing #30

Looking through Batman’s speech to Dick there...some of the things he says to Dick are so uncomfortably close to what Cain says to Cass. Really horrible parallel there. Why DC.

I really don’t know why Dick was so certain that Bruce didn’t do something shady with Mother, as was implied throughout the comic, when Bruce had pulled the Spyral crap fairly recently. Just sucks. I mean, Dick had just recently sacrificed everything (his family, his friends, his life, his identity, everything) to do as Batman wanted and go undercover, only to hear this over and over? To hear that none of it was enough? That he could never be enough? And Dick never gets reassurance that this isn’t true. This comic is just agonizing in so many ways.

Obviously, everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and I am not criticizing this to be a killjoy? Just venting. If you enjoy these comics, you are free to continue to do you. But I am never going to like them. And when I see people championing these books as the best the Bat-fam has to offer...oof is that hard to hear lmao! Surely we can do better than all this.

Oh this one is gonna be about racism isn’t it? Yup. I know people judge Kirk for his prejudice against the Klingons in this movie, and I wanna clarify that it’s still not okay, but I just... look back on all of his experiences with Klingons, and he became less and less chill with them as they kept doing stuff to him and his crew, torturing Spock, Sherman’s planet, torturing Chekov, the ugly decisions in A Private Little War then on top of that they killed a son he never got the chance to connect with because his ex never allowed him custody. They almost cost him the chance to bring Spock back on top of that too. I’m not saying it’s not right, and whether it’s justified is subjective, but I also know he learns his lesson in this film. It makes me think of Katara’s arc in S3 of ATLA, how much she hated (understandably) Zuko and the Fire Nation, how she almost killed the man who killed her mother, but then didn’t. If we can love her still with that character growth, I see no reason to suddenly hate Jim.

HSMTMTS 2x9: so dreaded, so exciting, 'Sword!' (yeah, I went there, I've been thinking about this scene - you know the one - since yesterday for some reason)

After two computer malfunctions and a very tough, very sleepless night, here I am with a third attempt to write this post. The universe is against me today. Is Mercury in retrograde or something? Ugh, I just want to get this over with already. And I haven't even managed to see half the episode yet. You better like this cursed post because it's taken me two hours at this point, and will probably take another to finish - and that is if nothing goes wrong this time. Please bear with me. This is my reaction to HSMTMTS 2x9, take 3. Let's hope and pray it's the last one.

I'm normally [unpopular opinion alert] a very spoiler-positive person (it's the combination of anxiety and ADHD and a bunch of other stuff, I suppose), but for this one I've been refraining from looking at the tag all morning, so by now I'm simply bursting with impatience. But before we dive in, I need to get some stuff off my chest.

Some pre-watch thoughts and feelings (let's see how well they will have aged by the end of the episode):

Seriously, what is with whoever writes this show? I know it's impossible, but I feel like they've been toying with my emotions specifically all season. Like:

Ah, so you were a Rini shipper last season? Great, now we'll make them obnoxious and borderline toxic to the point where you actually want them to break up, but then their old chemistry will be back just for the breakup scene so that you can cry your eyes out over the one couple you couldn't stand - even though you can't seem to relate to a single song from Sour, we'll make you feel like you do for a hot second. At least it will remind you that you loved Ricky.

So you say Redlyn own your heart and soul? Great, we'll make you dread something going wrong with them for a week straight, and mess up your sleep schedule beyond repair over it. You're welcome!

We heard you said Rodfini give you life? Perfect, how about a big Seblos fight? And would you like a side of questioning your choice to stan Carlos with that? Because what is life without a little anxiety, a bit of doubt of your ability to read people, and a pinch of existential dread, right?

Ah, so you claimed not to ship Portwell romantically, is that right? Brilliant, we'll make you ship them and then we'll use that to torture you, too.

You've been excited about ABF and Asher Angel guest-starring ever since they were announced? Magnificent! We'll make you hate ABF's character to the point where you can't even look at him, and we'll make you call him names you thought yourself incapable of uttering. And as for Asher, you'll be left waiting for him until the last third of the season, and then you'll dread the possibility of hating his character, too. Do you love us yet?

Oof! Right then, I've got that out of my system. Time to dive in.

Miss Jenn playing around with the backgrounds is, like, 90% of the people who had online school this year, and honestly, I love that for her.

Wait, why is Nini first on this call? Are they going through with the Rose thing? Cos like, the song is nice and all (and, might I add, much more to my taste than nearly all of Sour, don't @ me), but if they use it, it will get them disqualified. They’ve been told that! Gosh, please let me be wrong about this.

We get it, Carlito, rich and fancy and over-the-top is kind of your thing, but have you stopped for a second to think about how others will feel about this? Especially Seb, whom you claim to care about. Seriously, though, I love Carlos and would not hesitate to die for him, but I’m getting the feeling that, unlike my other favourite (you know the one), he wouldn’t do the same for me. Oh well, he’ll figure it out. He’s just a kid. Give him time.

Wait, Milky White? Is that an Into the Woods reference I smell? Cool! If I had a cow, I’d totally name her Milky White (or Gertrude, but don’t ask me why). I just hope they don’t have to, like, take her to the market and exchange her for magic beans, if you catch my drift.

Ahhhhh, Caswell cousins content! We love to see it!

‘You guys are watching, like, old old movies’ WTH, Nini (or is it Nina)? Scary Movie is literally younger than me. But what do you know about it, you 21st-century baby! Ugh, I don’t know why I’m being so hostile today... must be the lack of sleep. Hope it doesn’t influence my reactions to the episode so dramatically as to make me forget how much I love this series. Because I do.

Yay! Big Red is here! I can finally smile. And did Ash just say they’re soulmates? Because yes they are! Ahhh my heart is going to explode.

‘Nini, have you heard from [Ricky]?’ Yikes, awkward... but of course, Big Red can be counted on to save the day here, too.

Ok, so that was a cool cold open. Time for some nice in-person scenes, though. I did not spend all of three semesters doing online school just to have the characters of my favourite series do the same.

Wow, Gina is really embracing that French accent thing! And I really don’t want to think about, erm, ‘Napoleon over here’ right now, but I really think the fact that she’s doing it better than him will be another piece of evidence towards my theory of fake-French!Antoine... ugh, I said his name. Oh well. Back to Gina. Too bad the French thing didn’t work out for her.

Ahhhh, Portwell with Ash in the background! And Ash is going to paint EJ’s nails! I feel like he’s going to end up loving that, despite what he says right now. But seriously, I just love how comfortable these two are with each other. Can you blame me now for shipping them as friends? Well, I mean, it’s obvious they will be more than friends, and somehow, despite the amatonormativity of it all, I’m here for it.

Wait, was that Asher? That was Asher, I’m 100% sure of it. And Gina said ‘a sign’ and then looked at him, even from the back... what am I supposed to think and feel here? I’m confused. Moving on.

Ahh, poor Ricky being a burrito... good thing that breakup scene last time reminded me that I love him, because the entirety of the season before that was very good at making me forget that.

Wait, did she say ‘the Bean’? As in, that Bean? The infamous Bean? LOL.

‘So the only time you two talk to each other is to gossip about me’ Boy, did I feel that. I once got my hands on my dad’s mobile and I... kind of went through his texts with mum. Yep, all about me and my brother. At this point I feel like they’re only together because of us. But this is getting too personal. I’m here about the episode, not to rant about my family. Moving on.

Yikes, looks like Nini’s got writer’s block all over again. Am I supposed to feel sorry for her? Because I kind of don’t. I mean, no hate towards her, none at all, but that entire scene just felt awkward and unnecessary. And not just because it’s her first time going live. That I can understand. What I don’t understand is why the writers can’t seem to do anything creative and interesting with Nini. Olivia is being wasted there. Idk, that’s just how I feel. Again, no hate.

Ahhhhh it’s Asher! And well, he’s not Jonah, but I kind of really like him as Jack. I wonder if that will last.

So is it just me, or is anyone else not quite sure how to feel about Ricky’s mum? I mean, their interactions seem kind of awkward and strained, but that’s how it’s supposed to be given their recent history, and yet something just doesn’t sit quite right with me.

‘You there, Muse? It’s me, Nini!’ Ah, so it’s Nini again? I didn’t get the memo. Gosh, this episode is kind of really underwhelming. The most exciting thing so far (but not nearly as exciting in practice as it was in theory) – Asher and Sofia’s on-screen reunion. The second most exciting thing? The thought of Ash painting EJ’s nails. Everything else? Kind of ‘whatever’. Is this what I tossed and turned about all night? Totally not worth it. This episode better get, like, 300% better right this instant. It’s just not worth all the frustration and excitement and dread so far.

Looks like my prayers from just now have been heard! That improv scene was hilarious! Guess it was lucky that Miss Jenn had them do improv before this moment. But I need to know more of Jack’s backstory now.

Ok, so that was awkward! So Kourtney is talking to Howie again, I guess. And I guess I know now what Carlos did that was all public and no subtle. Still, what’s wrong with posting photos from your holiday? Guess I don’t exactly know yet what Carlos did to piss the others off so much.

Great, now I’m tempted to google butterfly faces. Good thing I’m not eating anymore. *** Ughhhhh this was a mistake! Please don’t ever look a butterfly in the face if you want to stay sane. Don’t be like me.

Ahhh the Duke sweater! ‘Is that your boyfriend’s?’ Well, not quite yet, it’s not... *screams in Portwell*

Oh, now we’re talking! But seriously, Ricky? The ‘my friends think’ card? Why don’t you just say ‘I think’? It’s clearly something you’ve thought about a lot. I feel like I’m going to love this scene or cry over it or both.

Ooh, therapy. It’s not just... basically the entire fandom... who says it now. Please tell me that means Ricky will be going to therapy at some point. Says the girl who is currently firmly refusing to go to therapy in favour of hyperfixating on HSMTMTS and getting back into the good old practice of having imaginary friends... yeah, I’m one to talk.

My, my, my! Seb has really had it now. I mean, it was about time, but... not quite like this. My heart is starting to do some weird stuff, I can feel it. I might need to lie down.

Ok, so as much as I envy North High for getting to see so many shows on BWay – basically living out my dream – stalking East High on Instagram and being shady about them taking a well-deserved break... just goes beyond all limits. I mean, if you’re so into Broadway shows, you should know as well as I do what happened the last time a certain founding father did not take a break. Maybe you’re the ones in need of a break here.

Nini on the call with the Caswell cousins, though... ‘I’m obsessed with both of you’ – first relatable thing she’s said or done all season. And EJ playing with old toys is pure gold.

Oh, so Jack’s dad is a pilot. Makes sense, I guess. I’m kind of intrigued by this guy. Just as long as he doesn’t try to come between Portwell before they’ve had the chance to happen, you know...

Ashlyn might need to stop swooning over Nini’s songwriting or Big Red might get jealous... I mean, I would not have pinned him as the jealous type before 2x7, but ever since then... I guess insecure + dating a girl like Ash = the jealous type. And although that looks good on him, I’d bet anything it doesn’t feel particularly pleasant on his side. So... wait, why am I talking about Big Red? He hasn’t even got anything to do with the scene at hand. But then again, there’s been so little Big Red content in this episode that I seem to be trying to make up for it. Still. Stay focused.

Ooh, so Big Red did edit that video! Is there anything my boy can’t do? Ok, now I feel like he’s even more criminally underappreciated than he was before. But let’s look at the video. I’m curious to see the whole thing because that sneak peek from yesterday simply hasn’t been enough.

That was... really, really cool! I love how they took the ‘when they go low, we go high’ line from last time and run with it. Now if only they were putting as much effort into BATB... North High wouldn’t know what hit them.

Hmmmm... I guess Gina and Jack could be what I originally wanted Portwell to be... really cool friends. Unless it’s one of those ‘airport magic’ things. Oh well. It probably is. Was that all we’re seeing of Asher here? I did not wait 2/3 of the season for this. Though it was nice.

Ooh, Ricky’s solo song... why is there more Rini chemistry in this song than there was in all the season? Not counting the breakup scene, of course. Also, I feel like it’s just as much about him and his mum as it is about Nini. Some say music is the best therapy. I think they might be right. And no, I’m not crying. You are.

The granola bar, though... this episode might have been very underwhelming in the first half, but... it delivered in the Portwell front, and the music was *chef’s kiss*, so I’m willing to let it slide that the advertised Seblos ‘big fight’ was not touched upon nearly enough. Maybe next week...

Ok, now that we’re done watching the episode, let’s see how my feelings from the beginning have aged:

The Rini breakup: apparently, along with reminding me that I love Ricky, it has rendered me unable to look at Nini. What’s up with that? If this is some sort of tactic along the lines of ‘Olivia might be leaving the show so we’re making you hate her character so that you won’t miss her’, it’s not really working. Because I don’t want to hate Nini. Believe me, I don’t.

Redlyn: ok, so there’s nothing wrong with them whatsoever - we even got a ‘soulmates’, which I loved - but first they’re being swept under the rug, and then the antis come at us with that ‘their relationship is underdeveloped’ nonsense. Individually, though, I liked them in this episode (even if there was a significant shortage of Big Red), and Ashlyn collaborating with Nini again was cool, but... what I really wanted to see was her painting EJ’s nails. Did she even get the chance to actually do it? Maybe next week.

Seblos: I’m still failing to understand exactly what Seb thinks Carlos did wrong (please enlighten me if you did catch that, I’m kind of slow), but he (Seb) does have reasons to be mad at him (Carlos)... and at other people, too. Still, if you want to have a fight between two people in a relationship, you could do much better than whatever this episode was. Maybe next week. I notice I’m saying that a lot. Guess I’m putting a lot of hopes on 2x10. I just pray it doesn’t disappoint.

Portwell: boy, am I happy that my frustration on this front did not age well! What I mean is, apparently they’ve decided to bless us, not torture us for once. Even a rather disappointing episode like this one had to have some sort of silver lining. And Portwell is it.

Asher as Jack: well, luckily I didn’t hate him, but... it’s kind of the opposite problem. I loved him and now they’re taking him away from me. Guess I just can’t win here. Oh well. At least he didn’t have the screen time to get in between Portwell...

All in all: 2x10, my hopes and prayers are with you!

Watching the next episode of Roswell

Wait wait wait! I just looked at the episode titles now, are they song titles! OMG I love that! Smells Like Teen Spirit is the episode after this one (that's how I figured it out) and it makes me so happy. I love Nirvana.

Ok, so here's the thing after the recap I just wanted to say. "After all I'm the one who killed those girls" but not Rosa... just saying.

Also, I know this was his thought process, two good lives compared to his shitty one, who do they ruin? Easy answer. The whole shebang. But I always hate that. Like not really but it makes me feel bad and I hate that mindset, love it from a storytelling perspective.

Ok back to this episode of which I have no idea why Isobel is out here alone. Love the crop circles though

See I like this argument though. Like genuinely Michael shouldn't be confessing because he matters too, but you know, with his mindset I doubt he cares. Making him aware of the dangers it poses to his family is more likely to work.

Sidenote: I mean technically speaking they should all confess since you know people died and all that, but I don't really care about those people, so....

So like, am I reading too much into this or did Isobel kill Rosa? Cause I think she did. Accidentally by the sound of it, but tbh I wouldn't expect her to do that intentionally.

I was about to say I like seeing old friendships, but then things a turn. Oof. Bullying, homophobia, this is not good childhood memories like I thought we were gonna get. This cabin just got awkward

I love when someone asks "how much longer?" And it's immediately followed by something happening.

Fucking, guy who believes everything is normal, "don't open that. Bad things." Guy who knows about aliens and the existence of creatures outside of what we know and also experiments and government conspiracies "ah nothing bad could possibly be down there."

So why does Isobel blackout but the other two apparently don't?

First of all, poor Alex, literally life had to suck so hard for him, I can't imagine living life with no one real loved ones. Like I have 6 siblings, you know, hard to not have one of them be attached to you.

But anyways, see, now Alex is arguing if Kyle's dad was a good guy, and like, it pulls into questions which way this story is gonna go. With this it looks like it's gonna go he's not bad, but then what's withthe letter? Wasn't it a love letter? I'm confused

Congrats on 200! I honestly only found your blog a couple weeks ago, but I've binge read literally everything you've written multiple times. You're so incredibly good and talented! If you're still taking ship requests I'd probably die if you did mine, I just know it would be perfect.

he loves how sweet you are, and your fleetwood mac flower child aesthetic is so admirable to him, i could see him stumbling across a patch of wildflowers on ryloth and smiling because they reminded him of you, maybe even picking a handful of them to gift you later (i feel like one of his top love languages is gift giving, but he doesn’t really do it too often, preferring to give you words of affirmation, since you both love it sm). he is the k i n g when it comes to comforting you when your anxiety gets bad, whether it be talking it through, or just keeping you company, he will ensure he is there for you however you need him to be. and if you’re worried about your first date; don’t be. this hunk has it aaaalllll covered, his gift giving will come into play as he greets you with a peck on the cheek and a cute little trinket he found one day while roaming the street markets in the capital. he has the ability to be a complete gentleman, while also sweeping you off your feet. howie adores you and is your biggest cheerleader :)

“Cyare, how about this one?” Howzer gently grasped your elbow to lead you towards the novelty stand on the opposite side of the street, pointing at a small trinket adorned with your favorite color. His chest swelled at the way your eyes lit up when you followed his finger towards the beautiful ceramic flower. Your smiling eyes met his, a sly smile on his own face at the way his baby silently pleaded with him to get it, although she wouldn't admit it.

Howzer turned to the attendant and asked how many credits for the gift, hoping he had enough with the small salary the GAR provided to higher ranking troopers. By the time the exchange was over, Howzer turned back around to you, looking down at your beautiful frame, holding out the trinket and smiling as you squealed in delight. “For you, my sarad.”

1. A movie you’ve seen most times in cinema.

Inception, without a doubt. Inception in a theater is just a whole different experience.

3. A movie you quote on a daily basis.

ok so this one MIGHT not count but, the way Miles says "No" in Blindspotting when he and Collin are fighting. It's kind of an aggressively tired "no" and I use it constantly and I'm pretty sure my sister is just plane out done with me at this point.

18. An underrated actor.

Oof, I want to say Tom Hardy, one cuz he's one of my absolute faves, and two I've heard more than once that he just basically plays the same character in different movies BUT that is completely untrue, while yes, some of the characters he takes on grunt and are kinda shady, he has a vast range. Charles Bronson, The Kray twins, Eames, Bane, Handsome Bob, and Eddie Brock (just to name a few) are all vastly different from each other and he portrays them so magnificently that sometimes I forget its the same fucking actor (and that's leaving out some of my fave roles he's had in TV shows).

“You’re coming, aren’t you?” Felix whined over the phone. “The party already started, Y/nieee~”

“Yes, yes, I’m coming Felix,” You laughed, looking out the car window. “I told you already, traffic is a mess. I’ll be there soon, i promise.”

“OK,” You can practically hear him pout. “Just don’t be too late, I can’t celebrate my birthday if one of my best friends isn’t there.”

“Tch, as long as the rest of Stray Kids are there, you’ll be fine. What do you need me for?” You teased.

“Hmph, I knew you longer than all of the members, you’re still my first best friend,” Felix answered. “And–”

You heard a loud crash from the kitchen, and Felix hurriedly said, “ I have to go now, they’re already messing up the kitchen, yikes-” before he hung up. Laughing a little to yourself, you shook your head. Leave it up to these kids to get themselves into some sort of mess.

Still, your mind drifted back to the two words that Felix mentioned over the phone. “Best friend.” Did he only consider you as a friend? Well, why will he like you anyway, Y/N? You told yourself. He deserves someone better than you. Shaking your head, you focused your attention back on the road.

The truth is, you had a crush on Felix for...a long time. Even before he became a trainee at JYP. You didn’t realize it until after he left Australia, leaving you, his parents, his home behind, that you like him. After moving to Korea, you still haven’t confessed even after the dating ban was lifted, and you thought your feelings might have faded away. But no, they were stronger than ever, and one day, you knew you had to say something. You actually had considered confessing to him today, at the party, but you didn’t want to dampen the mood if he rejects you. Which he most likely will.

Sighing to yourself, you finally parked the car in front of Stray Kids’ dorms. Well, today is Felix’s special day, so you need to push these negative thoughts out of your head and go celebrate with your best friend.

Pushing open the door, you peered inside cautiously. You could already hear their voices from down the hall, and it made you nervous to see what trouble the 8 of them had already caused. Before you could get a good look inside though, someone grabbed you and pulled you in.

“You’re finally here! Yah, everyone! Y/N’s here to party!” Jisung hugged you tightly, almost making you deaf with his yells right next to your ear. “Already in the party mood, aren’t you?” You pulled some confetti out of his hair. “Where are the others-oof!”

The rest of the boys, hearing Jisung’s yells, had rushed over to you and engulfed you in a giant group hug. You laughed, happy to be with your friends, it’s been too long since you guys have met up for something. They were busy with their comeback, you were busy with work. But in this moment, you never felt happier to be with them. Soon, all of you were sitting down and chatting around the dining table. The boys seem to have tweaked their cooking skills since God’s Menu (though you weren’t sure if they’re 5 star Michelins yet), and you couldn’t help smiling as you ate, proud of their improvement.

“Chan made most of it,” Felix mumbled through a mouthful of kimchi, “but wait ‘til you try the desserts I made, you’ll love them!”

Laughing, you wiped the food from the corner of your friend’s lips. “I can’t wait to try them, Felix. I loved the brownies and cookies you made, I hope you don’t mind if I take some of the desserts home so I can eat them during my lunch break?”

Felix blushed when your fingers touched his cheek, and his face turned redder when you complimented him. Stop embarrassing yourself in front of your crush, he mentally scolded himself. It didn’t help that some of the members were watching them, silently snickering behind their hands.

“Aw, Felix is being shy around his cru-” Felix kicked Seungmin underneath the table, causing him to wince and cut off his sentence. Ignoring the glare from the younger boy, Felix turned to you again.

“Of course you can bring some home, and since we’re done eating, let’s have some dessert!”

“This is probably the best birthday we’ve ever spent together,” you said, cuddling one of Felix’s plushies on his bed. The both of you were lying on Felix’s bed after the party, while the other members had volunteered to clean up. You wondered why all of them had suddenly wanted to do so, but they just told you and Felix to spend some time together, since you two hadn’t seen each other in a long time. Minho had winked at Felix when he pushed him towards the room, making the whole situation even more shady. Anyhow, you’re glad you have some time alone with your friend/crush.

“No.”

Frowning, you turned over to stare at him. “What do you mean?”

“The best one was the last birthday I had before I left Australia,” Felix stared at the ceiling, his eyes distant. “When you and I went to the beach at sunset.”

You blinked at him, surprised. You remembered that day, when the two of you had ran to the beach within walking distance from his house, deciding to go for a swim after dinner. Felix’s laughing face as he raced you there, him splashing you with water, you remembered it all. The orange sunset illuminated the scene as you two lied down on the sand, just enjoying being there with each other. A warm feeling spread over you as you thought back to the memories. Oh, you’ll give anything to go back to that moment again, hanging out with Felix like you two were kids again.

Felix noticed the wistful look on your face, and continued. “That day, I felt the closest to you. I almost didn’t want to leave Australia because I didn’t want to leave you behind. Because--because I like you.”

Your eyes widened at his sudden confession. Felix fiddled with his hands, waiting for your answer. His eyes darted away from you, looking around nervously. A large smile spread across your face as you realized that your crush, in fact, does like you after all.

“I like you too, Felix.”

Felix turned to you, “Y-you do?”

You nodded. “I’ve liked you for years already, I thought you didn’t like me back, that’s why I never said anything.”

“I thought you didn’t like me, so-” Felix burst out laughing, “We liked each other the whole time? Really?”

“Ugh, finally,” Hyunjin said. you two whipped your head to him and Minho standing at the doorway, having witnessed the confession. Felix sat up and threw a pillow at them. “Yah! Stop spying on us!”

“What a romantic confession,” Minho smirked, before backing away at Felix’s glare. “Ok, ok, we’ll leave you two alone. Just...don’t get too steamy!” He slammed the door closed before Felix can throw anything else at him. You two could hear them laughing as they walk away.

“Anyways...” Felix flopped back on the bed and turned to you. “When should we have our first date?
