It was a joyous Halloween night.
The children were prancing with delight at their collection of sweet treasure. While the parents took pictures to commemorate their night out round the neighborhood.
While you were out in about getting ready to be dicked down by the sexy scarecrow.
“Why dontcha present that sweet ass of yours for me like a good girl”
Keigo crooned, as he tapped his unnatural girthy shaft against the top of your forehead with a sleazy grin. Loving the view of you being tainted by his thick seed.
“Make me strawboy”
You huffed, as you began to wipe away the cum he defiled you with.
Now that you had some clarity of mind you thought coherently that even if you were out in the open there would be a low chance of you being spotted in the dark of night within the maze of cornfields.
Also if he tried to grab anyone’s attention which would be somewhat difficult as everyones currently occupied with the festivities going on. You’d just have to make sure to get the hell outta dodge which was easy given your athletic physic meant for doing a hard days of farm work.
Sure you felt a bit guilty for moving him against his will from his rightful post. But you refused to be led by the nose any longer especially not from a man whose job was to keep the crows away from your crops.
“Oh would you look at this cheeky farmer slut acting up.”
He hummed, amused and heavily turned on by your defiant antics. Damn you really knew how to get a scarecrow all riled up. Didn’t you know that being bratty is a major turn on for him?
“Not too long ago you were on your knees sucking my cock like a fresh whore but now you wanna act up, sweet thing?”
Just gazing into your defiant glare paired along with those full pouty dick sucking lips of yours was a killer combination. That only made him get harder than physically possible given his straw like constitution.
God he could get off just by looking at your beautiful face alone. And the urge to wank out yet another orgasm all over your face to make sure his balls didn’t back up with excess sperm batter was resurfacing.
But that wouldn’t be fun, he wanted to break you down. Make you cry and get you so addicted to his cock that you’d never get tired of worshipping and indulging in his seed.
“ I guess I’ll just have to slam my dick up inside that disobedient hole of yours and knock some sense into ya don’t I?”
Keigo sneered with a mean smirk plastered on his flushed face exposing his pent up arousal for you.
You knew from your previous experience that the scarecrow was unusually strong but you didn’t expect was for him to snatch you up by your kinky curls and steal your breath away. He was relentless in making sure that you didn’t have the time to recuperate from him passionately meshing his ravenous chapped lips against yours. Savoring the taste of your sweet lips with a flicker of his tongue swiping across your bottom lip.
Failing to recognize his rough hands avidly undressing you from your overalls exposing your skin to the cold autumn breeze. He continued to make out with you in tandem with his wondering fingers trying to find the source of wet heat that radiated from your aroused cunt only to swipe two fingers up against your mound.
“Mmh!”
you moaned in surprise as he continued to rub up and down against your moistened slit. Whilst biting your lip in order to have your mouth open so he can take the chance to do the devils tango with your tongue. Tightening the grip around your waist whenever you’d start to squirm from when he began to ease his fingers into you pushing the fabric of your lacy underwear deep inside your wet cunt.
“ Damn your pussy really wants to be filled huh? Squeezing my fingers so tightly. Shit, Ya wanna milk my dick that badly lil miss farmer?”
” Mmh As if your strawy dick ahn- it’d snap under the pressure”
“You wanna bet princess?”
Keigo purred into your ear his patience thinning the more he fantasizes about how good you’d feel wrapped around his dick. Gaining a good grip on your panties he decided to forcibly remove it from your person eliciting a beautiful whimper falling from your lips.
Not being able to contain his freverent excitement he lightly pushed you to the ground onto your back quickly caging you within his arms. Leaving you exposed to golden hawk like eyes that looked down at you in a sinful manner.
Damn did he know how to get a farmer girl weak in the knees. You couldn’t help but swoon from how devilishly handsome he looked licking his lips as he stared at you like you were his last meal on death row.
“What cat got your tongue baby? It’s a little too soon to be so distracted I need all your attention on me”
He nipped at your velvety skin grabbing the fat of your thick thighs as he propped them up on his shoulders shuffling his pelvis to interlock with yours so he could slide his heavy cock against the slick dripping from your clenching hole.
He teased the fat mushroom tip up and down your second pair of lips. Rubbing in his thick pre against the gaping pink flesh of your pussy that was spread open by his two thick nimble fingers which resembled a v shape.
As much as he wanted to get his dick covered in the honey like substance being produced by your sweet love canal. He wasn’t going to do anything until you starting acting like his proper farmer slut.
“W-what’s wrong strawboy you got cold feet?”
you scoffed.
Trying to act as if you were still the one in control when in actuality the heat from the previous romp in the cornfields. Left you yearning for more despite your brain telling you to run away from the animated scarecrow. That oddly resembled more of a man made of flesh than a man made of straw.
”Oh baby I’d love nothing more than to be buried deep to the hilt inside your needy dripping cunt…”
He whispered huskily into your neck.
“But I have no intention of fucking a spoiled brat who can’t even ask me nicely for what she so desperately needs.”
You reeled from his bold remark with a low whine bubbling from your throat. As he continued to tease and prod at your winking hole and use his other hand to stimulate your budding clit.
Keigo bit his lip in concentration with every slight push of his plump tip dipping cruelly in but not all the way inside of your wavering cunt. Fuck just pressing his cockhead against your hole was gonna make him blow his load. The slick sounds of his lewd ministrations were replaying like a broken record in your head.
Oh how you wanted him to scratch that aggravating itch he planted deep within your heated molten core. But would your pride allow you to stoop so low as to beg the cocky scarecrow to fuck you into oblivion?
Yes, yes it would.
It was almost as if the both of y’all were in the midst of losing your minds. However, you were the first to break as you grabbed at his ratty clothes to look up at him with pleading teary eyes. While grinding haphazardly up into his evading cock.
”P-please..”
”Please what sweetheart?”
”P-please fuck me! I need it! I need your dick inside me right now-“
Before you could even finish your pleas Keigo roughly locked his lips with yours. pushing his tongue inside to taste every inch of that pretty mouth that had once swallowed his seed. Before he pulled back briefly with a loud smack to give you a look full of adoration and love.
”That’s my good girl”
He rasped before pulling his hips back to shoving his throbbing shaft deep inside your gushing cunt. The amount of force he used made all the air from your lungs evaporate into a wordless scream. You could literally feel him in your stomach his dick imprint becoming alarmingly present as you looked down between your conjoined bodies.
Pounding into you as if he couldn’t contain the primal need to ravage you with his cock over and over again. Using your lovely whorish moans as fuel to keep pumping his hips into your soaking heat. Whiling enjoying the view of you bending to his will breasts bouncing wonderfully as tears of exhilaration ran down your face as you finally started getting fucked for all of what your worth.
” You feel so good wrapped around me fuck I’ve been waiting for you for so long to come to this farm I’m glad the wait was worth it.”
He murmured softly to himself as he began to grope and tweak at the dark areoles of your full tits that bounced at every thrust of his hips. His long deep strokes kept you on the precipice of a long awaited climax feeling his thickened pre cum fill you up in ways you never imagined.
”Yes that’s it keep taking my cock just like that sweetness I need to fill you up real good to make up for all the times I haven’t been able too.”
As Keigo continued to punish your overstimulated cunt into completion a puddle of fluids collected from beneath your connected bodies. Which mainly consists of the leakage of thick pre cum and your juices. Making it all the more apparent to hear the wet audible smack of his balls against the fat of your ass.
How long has it been when the two of you starting fucking like wild animals? Cuz as of right now you could barely remain conscious with how much cum he bullied into your tight walls.
“N-no more…ish too muchh”
You slurred. While Keigo was humping his 3rd recent load into your puffy cunt from behind since he had half the mind to manhandle you into the doggy position because he figured you were uncomfortable being flat on your back pumped to the brim of his gunky seed.
”Shhh you’ve been sucha good girl for me I’m almost done. I just need ta make sure that you’re full to the brim of me baby”
Like a madman possessed he was obsessed with emptying out his breeder balls into his pretty farmer girl until nothing was left. Leaving your skin marred with love bites and hickeys. He managed to find purchase on your love handles to ram in his meat within the depths of your cunny kissing the head of your overfilled cervix with an oncoming wave of his baby batter.
“Shit Imma cum, imma cum inside your slutty pussy ahh fuck here it comes! Take it all!”
Keigo groaned loudly as he slumped over you. Your legs had given out awhile ago so he had to hoist you up by your hips to rut further against your rump. Making sure all the cum threatening to overflow is plugged in throughly within your overused snatch.
Wrapping his arms around your middle he pulled you up into his lap to lay against his chest. Your head falling back into the crook of his neck with a peaceful expression. Smiling softly at your soft snores Keigo brushed his lips against your cheek in a faux kiss.
”I think we’ll get along just fine my cute lil farmer”

People have been liking beware the bat stuff on tiktok(especially scarecrow holy shit) so let's do some here
You get 2 this time
Beware the bat character drop: Scarecrow
Tumblr media
Voiceclaim/face claim: Ethan Hawke
Tumblr media
Jonathan Crane in this universe is the leader of a Christianity based Cult called "The Church Of The Straw Man"
He dawns a hat, burlap mask, a noose, and an old pastors robe. His followers are also required to wear burlap during services, his cult takes the concept of God's soldiers and "be not afraid" and flips it on its head. Crane preaches that in order for the world to be saved, people must be too afraid to sin. If anyone resists his tactics, he either kills/tortures them to make an example, or he tries indoctrinating into his church.
The way he ends up killing or torturing usually has biblical ties, like throwing stones, drowning incineration etc.
He believes that batman is the equivalent of the antichrist since instead of using the powers of fear to punish the sinful, he uses it to help them.
Crane maintains the position at Arkham sanatorium since at this point in time, his identity is still a secret.
Beware the bat character drop: Music Meister
Tumblr media
Voice/face claim: Christian Borle
Tumblr media
Music Meister in this universe is a metahuman who's powers are rooted in rhythm and song. He decides to use these gifts to become a successful Broadway actor. unfortunately he was blacklisted in Broadway for allegedly killing a technician over a defamatory comment, and for also being a metahuman. He has a close friendship with Savannah Everett(who I Will get into eventually), the primary costumer for Gotham's rogues, his powers manifest kinda like the infection in the guy who didn't like musicals, causing people to do his bidding, albeit in a very musical and choreographed manner.
Beware the bat has its own "vees"
Tumblr media
3 main rogues who seem to be in charge of everything, though the 3rd member changes very often, Music Meister and Scarecrow are always part of the trio, currently the 3rd member is Edward Nygma

Masked Love (Part 3)
Pairing- Jason Todd x OC; Dick Grayson X Platonic!OC
Warnings- death, violence, major angst
Summary- After making a shocking discovery with the help of Scarecrow, Elana confronts her demons. She’s forced to fight against people she loves in order protect her teammates. But can she say no when her demon comes to her for help?
Word Count- 6,935
I hate getting up early. I’ll get up for early morning training or an early gymnastics meet. But an early meeting? If I had any control over it, no. Don’t get me wrong, being CEO is better than any of the other jobs at Queen Consolidated and it made me filthy rich, but it required 7am meetings. Not my thing.
“So, we’ve got the funding for the police gala squared away?” I asked over the Zoom call.
“We should,” my CFO, Michael Bridges, answered. I noticed Dick walk in, but stay off camera to the right.
“That covers catering, venue, entertainment, and staff?” I checked.
“Yes,” he replied. “Our donation and the cost of our gift will be a separate total we should have by the end of the month, but it should fit our budget.”
“Perfect. Thank you guys so much for putting extra effort into this,” I addressed everyone who was dialed in. “With all you’re doing, this should be the best SCPD gala we’ve had in a while. If no one has any further questions, we should be all wrapped up.” When no one spoke, I smiled. “Great! Thank you guys!” With that I ended the meeting. I took off my headphones, closed my computer, and turned to Dick.
“Do you ever rest?” he laughed.
“Yes, when I sleep,” I said.
“Oh, you mean the three hours of sleep you get every night?”
“Hey, usually it’s three and a half,” I defended.
“Look, I, uh, just wanted to apologize for yesterday,” he started.
“Whatever could you mean by that?” I asked sarcastically.
“Ha, ha. You’re not funny.”
“I think I am,” I mumbled as he went to keep talking.
“I shouldn’t have lashed out on you like I did. I guess I didn’t realize how stressed I was,” he apologized.
“You are right about that.” I smirked.
“Are we good then?” he asked cautiously.
“I don’t know. You tell me.”
“Would it kill you to say “I accept your apology”?”
“What if I reject your apology?”
“Well, then, we’d have some issues.” Dick shoved his hands in his pockets.
“Is that even allowed? Like, can you actually walk up to someone and say you reject their apology?” I asked.
“You’re… weird,” Dick said.
“Old news, man,” I smiled. “Tell you what, if you tell me what had you so riled up last night, I’ll let it go.”
He sighed. “I saw the guy we’ve been after. Wears a red helmet. Calls himself “Red Hood”. He got away, but he’s a good fighter. He’s gonna be a problem.”
“Red Hood? How creative,” I scoffed.
“Are we good now?”
“Yeah, I guess.”
“Good, because if we weren’t, it would make asking for a favor awkward.”
“Of course,” I scoffed, leaning back in my chair. “Men, they always want something.”
“Real funny. Barbara and I are working on a lead for our guy, Red Hood. We need you to talk to Scarecrow about knowing anything about him. Are you cool with that?”
“Yup. I do need to get out of the house,” I said. “Er, apartment.”
“Good. I’ll call you if we need you.” Dick nodded.
“Why didn’t you just call me instead of coming all the way over here?” I asked.
“I-uh, felt like I needed to apologize to you in person,” Dick answered. That was super believable.
“‘K…” I said. “I’m just gonna take your word for it.” I stood up.
“If you can meet up at the Manor at, like, 10, would that work?”
“I should be done about then.” I nodded.
“Great, see you then.” I watched him walk out, but I couldn’t shake the feeling that he wasn’t telling me something.
—————————
I walked down the dimly lit halls of Arkham for a third time in three days. Unlike last time, Crane stood at the bars, ready to talk to me.
“Ms. Queen, as much as I enjoy having you visit me, must you do it so early? Are you an insomniac or something like that?” he asked as I got to the bars.
“Yes, I am an insomniac, but also, when you run a multimillion dollar company that insists on early meetings, you get up early,” I sighed.
“I see. So, to what, then, do I owe the pleasure?”
“New information showed up from the case you helped us with yesterday. We have a name now. Red Hood,” I told him.
“Like the Joker?” he asked, putting his hands behind his back.
“No, this guy’s new. The Titans fought him last night at the Hobbs Powder Plant building. Nightwing and him had a showdown, but he got away. I have a feeling there might have been more, but I wasn’t told.”
“Interesting. You think they were leaving something out?” he asked.
“Is that what you focused on in that sentence?” I raised an eyebrow.
“I simply find it curious.” He shrugged.
“Is there anything that you can come up with that would connect in a different way now that we have our guy?” I asked. I handed him the file and he began flipping through it with one hand while using the other to pull out other files.
“The red hoods that his people all wore is the only obvious one, which I assume you’ve already noticed.” I nodded. “Aside from that, I can’t see anything else.” I sighed in disappointment.
“This was a waste of time,” I mumbled.
“Precisely,” Crane smiled.
“Why do you say it like that?” I tilted my head in confusion.
“You did mention that you feel like these Titans are keeping something from you.” I cocked my eyebrow and crossed my arms. “I have a mind-bender for you. If you wanted to tell someone something you didn’t want someone else to know, when would you do it?”
“When that someone else isn’t around,” I said like it was the most obvious thing in the world. “Wait…” I trailed off. That little- Dick lied to me.
“Exactly,” Crane smirked.
“Well, thank you for the talk. You were very helpful. I’ll be sure to tell Barbara.” I smiled, trying to hide my anger.
“Glad to be of service.” He bowed. I turned and headed back down the halls to show Dick Grayson just how scary I can be when you get on my bad side.
—————————
I parked my motorcycle in the Manor’s driveway, threw off my helmet, not even bothering to put it on my bike handle, and stomped up to the door. Taking a deep breath, I swung open the door and headed in. From further in the Manor, I heard Hank’s raised voice. I laughed to myself. So he’s telling them about whatever this is, but not me? I got to the door of one of the living rooms and stood on the side of the doorframe.
“Everyone’s just trying to figure out what the heck happened,” Dawn said. I listened intently.
“Right. We figure out the how and why later,” Dick said. “Jason’s out there and we need to stop him.” I froze. What did he just say? Jason was dead. Unless… No. There was no way he could be back. As much as I tried to convince myself this, I knew he wouldn’t mean anyone else. The pieces slowly fell into place. The reason Dick was so shaken up yesterday was because he had fought Red Hood. Jason. Jason was Red Hood and he was back from the dead. I was a mess of mixed emotions.
“You know, you guys do what you want, but if it ends up him verses me, kid’s going down,” I heard Hank say angrily.
“So now we’re killing Jason?” Dawn asked. Not on my watch, they weren’t.
“He wrote his own ticket. He starts taking people out, game’s over.” I heard footsteps fade out. I assumed they were Hank’s.
“What do we tell Elana?” I heard Dawn ask. At least someone thought of me.
“Nothing,” Dick answered. My blood boiled. That was it.
“That doesn’t seem like a good idea,” I said, walking in with dangerously powerful steps that made all of them stand up straighter.
“Elana-” Dawn came toward me.
“Out, both of you,” I said cooly to her and Kory. When they didn’t move, I flashed my eyes. “Now.” They looked at Dick before hurrying out.
“Elana, let me explain-“ Dick started.
“What? That my dead boyfriend’s alive and you forgot to tell me?” I asked sarcastically.
“I didn’t want to have you with conflicting feelings,” Dick tried to tell me. “We still have a mission to complete.”
“A mission?! I can’t be successful on a mission if I don’t have the full details!” I raised my voice.
“That’s not true at all. I’ve seen you do it before. Jason means a lot to you and I can’t have you compromised!” Dick matched my tone.
“Oh, you can’t have me compromised?! My bad if the fact that I’m human and have feelings could “compromise” our mission, but you’ve been with me since the start of my hero days. Have I ever let feelings get in the way of a mission?”
“Talia al Ghul.” He crossed his arms over his chest, all proud of himself.
“The woman ruined my life, she doesn’t count!” I narrowed my eyes. “But my point stands. The mission comes first and I’ve never forgotten that,” I hissed.
“Okay, Elana, but tell me this! Tell me, honestly, that you could look Jason in the eye and do the hard thing if it came down to it!”
“You know I don’t believe in killing!”
“Clearly not, you killed people for three years like a sport!” I blinked a couple times. That was a step too far. Dick knew it, too. “I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said that.” Without regret, I punched him square in the face. His head flew back and his body followed. He clutched his nose that was now dripping blood.
“You’re right, you shouldn’t have.” I turned around and headed back to the entrance and Dick spoke up.
“Where are you going?”
“To clear my head. Follow me and you’ll see how mean I can get.”
—————————
I was sitting in front of my mom and dad’s tombstones, trying to quiet myself. This was my go-to place for just that. I always felt a sense of calm when I was here. It was the same calm I felt when they were around. I guess it just made me feel like I had something familiar. Not even fifteen minutes into sitting there, I felt a presence behind me and I knew exactly who it was.
“When I lost them,” I started, “it felt like I had lost a piece of myself. I was convinced there was no way to get it back. But then you showed up and I finally felt like myself again. Then, I lost you.” He came and sat down beside me. “And now… you’re back?” I looked over and had to keep my breath from hitching. There was nothing different about his appearance, but his eyes looked haunted. He looked back at me with a guilty expression and then down at the ground. “Oh, god, Jay, you scared me.” I ran a hand through my hair.
“I didn’t mean to scare you,” he said quietly. “I didn’t expect Joker to beat me to death.”
“What did you expect? You went after a psychopath who’s had Batman wrapped around his finger since forever.” He kept looking down, not saying a word. I shook my head and stood up. If he didn’t want to talk, then I didn’t want to talk to him. I turned to walk away, but a hand around my wrist stopped me and spun me back around.
“Elana, please. I’m sorry,” Jason said. He intertwined both his hands with mine. “I just… I wanted to see you. I-I’m just trying to figure out what to say.”
“Maybe you can start with why you chose to name your new persona after the man that killed you?” He laughed.
“It’s called irony.”
“Why didn’t you tell me sooner?” I asked.
“I doubt you like what I’ve done. I didn’t want you to have to worry about me.” His voice got small. “And I didn’t want you to hate me.” I grabbed the sides of his jacket collar and pulled him into a kiss. He didn’t expect it, I could tell, but he melted into it, his hands resting on my hips. As our lips parted, we touched foreheads and I laughed as he smiled. “I missed that,” he said.
“I couldn’t hate you if I tried,” I told him.
“I love you,” he chuckled.
“Who doesn’t?” I said with a smirk.
“Give me a pen and paper and I could come up with fifty names at least.” I playfully shoved him off of me. “I’m kidding.”
“You better be,” I laughed.
“You know that movie night I promised you? Tonight. You and me, your apartment, an unhealthy amount of junk food. How does that sound?” Jason offered.
“That sounds amazing,” I smiled.
“How about midnight?”
“Perfect.” I gave him a quick peck on the lips.
“Two things. Here’s my new number in case you need me,” he handed me a slip of paper with the phone number on it. “And you can’t tell anyone that we’re talking, especially Dick. If someone finds out, you could get in trouble and I don’t want you to.”
“I wasn’t planning on it.”
“Great. I’ll see you tonight then.”
“You better. If you die again, there’s no refunds this time,” I joked. He laughed, kissed my forehead, and walked away. I smiled as I watched him leave, the butterflies in my stomach going wild. I couldn’t believe he was back. A part of me wondered why I didn’t punch him in the face for what he’s done, but I knew. The Jason I just saw was the Jason that I knew, the Jason that he really was. If I didn’t push him, maybe he’d come back to all of us. Maybe, I thought, smiling.
—————————
I had gone back to the Manor, successfully cooled off. The others were confused as to how it happened in under an hour, but I refused to tell them. I had even talked to Dick about our little shouting match. We agreed I earned punching him and he was just being stubborn. I loved winning.
Flash forward three hours to the present; Dawn, Dick, Conner, and I were in the cave looking for Hank who had mysteriously disappeared.
“Where the heck did he go?” Dawn asked as we watched the security footage of him out and about.
“A couple minutes later, he leaves and gets in as cab,” Conner said. “Now his phone’s off the grid.” We watched on the monitor as Hank got into a cab.
“Can you pull the plate?” Dick asked.
“I’ll try,” Conner answered, though he didn’t sound too sure if himself. He zoomed in on the license plate.
“We talked in the kitchen. Everything was fine,” Dawn said. “I told him to dial it down a notch.”
“Present and accounted for.” We all spun around to see Hank walking toward us, clearly hurt. He fell to his knees before he could reach us.
“Hank,” Dawn gasped. We hurried toward him. “What happened?” He unbuttoned his shirt, showing us a device attached to his chest, blood around it. My eyes widened slightly in surprise.
“Get it out of me,” he panted.
“Oh my gosh,” Dawn breathed. “Is that a bomb?”
“It’s a gift,” Hank said, “from our pal, Jason.” I shot backwards, inhaling sharply. Everyone’s eyes were on me, but I didn’t care. There was no way Jason would do this. He would never do this to anyone, especially Hank. Right? I had just talked to him.
“Oh, good. You found him.” Gar walked in with a sigh of relief. Kory was right behind him. “Or not?” He could tell something was wrong. Dawn and Dick helped Hank over to the med-bay while I kept to the back, biting my nails.
“You went to talk to Jason by yourself?” Dawn asked.
“It seemed like a good idea at the time,” Hank groaned, laying down. “Just get me a shot of whiskey and get the dang thing out.”
“I’m all for not touching that thing until we figure out how it works,” Kory spoke up.
“Conner, take a look inside and tell us what we’re dealing with,” Dick instructed.
“Yeah,” Conner sighed. His eyes lit up blue as he looked at Hank. “Wow,” he breathed. “This is pretty crazy.”
“Conner,” Dawn said sternly.
“Um, it has anti-retraction barbs that hold the device in place. Looks like it’s embedded in the pectoralis major right through to the aortic arch.”
“No part of that sounded good,” Hank commented.
“The engineering is incredibly nuanced. Bomb’s designed to tolerate insertion, not retraction,” Conner explained, writing something down. He held up a drawing of what I assumed was the bomb. “These barbs are in Hank’s chest.” I cringed. It looked painful. “They have sensors. If those sensors detect too much force, it’ll explode.”
“What if we remove it surgically?” Dick asked.
“Same outcome,” Conner answered. I sighed and rubbed my eyes. “Once activated, it’s designed to kill.” No. I lost two people in a row, I refused to lose the man who had played a brotherly role in my life. What was Jason thinking?
“That stupid little jerk,” Hank growled.
“This whole thing is engineered to read EKG signals,” Conner told us. “The countdown isn’t seconds, it’s-“
“The number of heartbeats he has left,” I finished.
“What do you mean countdown?” Dawn asked. Conner removed the top piece from the bomb to reveal a countdown.
“When it gets down to zero-“
“Jason can’t actually want Hank to die, right?” Gar cut Conner off. Out of nowhere, Dick’s phone began to ring.
“I have a feeling we’re about to find out,” Kory sighed. We all were thinking it, she just said it. Dick walked off in what I assume was an attempt to get out of earshot, but it didn’t work. For me, at least.
“I’m listening,” he answered the phone. He paused. “Whatever you want, killing Hank isn’t the way to get it.” He paused again. “Enough of the games. Tell me how we end this.” There was a longer wait this time. “This isn’t about the money for you. I could wire that right now and this would be all over.” Money? Why would Jason want money? “Never gonna happen,” Dick sighed. “What would she think of you doing this?” I knew exactly who “she” was. And “she” was not particularly happy that Dick was using her as a negotiation tactic. Seconds later, Dick hung up the phone. I realized my heart rate had quickened and my breathing became shallower. I tried to calm myself by using my breathing techniques, but it wasn’t working.
“He wants 50 million dollars in gold bars in return for deactivating the bomb,” Dick sighed, walking back over. My panic grew.
“Gold bars?” Hank echoed. “Did he have a white cat on his lap, too?”
“What did you tell him?” Dawn asked.
“Freaking N-O, I hope,” Hank said. “No way we negotiate with terrorists.” I closed my eyes and tried to will myself to get grounded. There was no way I was gonna have a full blown panic attack in front of people who didn’t even know I suffered from them. Besides, we had worse issues.
“So we’re just gonna call his bluff?” Dawn sighed. “Jason’s crazy!” My mind was racing.
“Where I come from, you come after family, we show no mercy,” Kory added. I felt like the conversation around me was a mile away and underwater.
“How much time do we have left?” Dick asked. I clutched my necklace and reminded myself of the breathing patterns my mom had taught me specifically for my panic attacks.
“The average resting heart rate is eighty beats per minute,” Dawn answered. I became more aware of my surroundings and took one last deep breath, thankful that was over.
“Mine’s a little closer to seventy-two,”Hank commented.
“Forty-three hundred beats per hour.” Dawn did the math.
“That’s less than four hours,” Kory sighed.
“Get him on a beta blocker drip,” I spoke up for the first time since figuring out the bomb’s countdown. Everyone looked at me, surprised I said anything. “It’ll slow down his heart rate and buy some more time.”
“Elana’s right,” Dick sighed before walking off. Dawn followed him. I exhaled sharply and put a reassuring hand on Hank’s shoulder.
“I’m sorry about this, Hank. You don’t deserve it,” I said.
“Don’t apologize. It’s not in any way your fault,” he told me. I nodded, but I guess I still looked a little unwell. “Hey, are you okay, kid?”
“Yeah, I’m fine. You’re the one that’s not. Try to get some rest, okay?” I covered.
“Got it.” Hank offered a smile that I returned halfheartedly before walking out. I headed upstairs to the kitchen where Bruce kept his medicine. I dug through the cabinets in search of Librium, the anxiety pill Dad had said I should take whenever I had an attack.
“Looking for this?” I turned around to see Dick holding my medicine.
“No, I have a headache. I’m looking for Tylenol,” I lied.
“Don’t lie, Elana. I know what an anxiety attack looks like,” he sighed.
“How could you tell?” I crossed my arms.
“Your eyes and your breathing. If I didn’t look as close as I did, I wouldn’t have noticed. You’re really good at hiding it.”
“I’ve been doing it for a while. It’s called practice,” I mumbled.
“How long?”
“Why should I tell you?”
“Because I’m trying to help. And I have something you need in my hand.”
I sighed and pursed my lips. “Once every two months for eight years,” I looked down.
“What?!” Dick exclaimed.
“It’s fine! It doesn’t happen a lot!” I defended.
“This is why I didn’t want to tell you,” he sighed, throwing me the pills. I popped one in my mouth and swallowed it.
“I’m not feeling like a lecture right now, thanks,” I said, walking past him. He grabbed my bicep and pulled me back a step.
“If you need to talk about this, I’m here,” he offered, calmer than he was a second ago.
“Yep.” I pulled out of his grip and headed upstairs. I got to my room and slammed the door shut. I grabbed my phone out of my pocket and dialed Jason’s number. It rang… and rang… and rang. He wasn’t picking up. Not because he didn’t see it, because he didn’t want to answer. I muttered a curse under my breath, running a hand through my hair.
I texted him with the words “we need to talk now”, but I doubted I’d get a response. I threw my phone down on the bed and grabbed a pillow. Bringing it to my face, I let out an frustrated scream. I chucked the pillow across the room and flopped, face down, onto my bed.
—————————
The others had moved Hank into a bedroom in the Manor to try to keep him calm and comfortable. I felt, in a way, that it was partially my fault. If I would’ve just brought Jason in or talked him down, this could’ve been avoided. To try to ease my guilty conscience, I went to talk to Hank.
“Hey,” I greeted, walking in.
“Hey yourself.” He smiled tiredly.
“How you feeling?” I asked, sitting down next to him on the bed.
“Top of my game,” he said.
“That is a lie.”
“Eh, I’ve been in worse situations.”
“Worse than having a bomb strapped to your chest?” I raised an eyebrow. “I doubt it.”
“Yeah, you’re probably right,” he sighed.
“But hey, we’ll figure something out. We always do,” I tried to convince him.
“Elana, we both know how this is gonna end.”
“Hank,” I groaned, “don’t talk like that. I lost Donna and Jason, I can’t lose you.”
“You know this isn’t your fault, right?”
“What? I didn’t say-“
“You didn’t have to. I know you, Lanes. You think everything is your fault.”
“This one might be.” I looked down. “I saw him, Jason, before he got to you and I didn’t do anything. We talked, but not about what he’s done. If I would’ve just-“
“Were you the one who put this bomb on my chest?” he cut me off. I shook my head. “Right. So this is not on you. Got it?”
“Yeah.” I gave a weak smile.
“I need you to do me a favor,” he said.
“Anything.”
“If I don’t make it-“
“Hank,” I cut him off.
“No, listen to me. I need you to do this.” He took a deep breath. “If I don’t make it, I need you to look after Dawn for me. Keep her in check. Don’t let this ruin her. The world needs Dove.”
“Yeah, I can do that,” I nodded. “But you’re gonna make it.”
“One more thing. Don’t beat yourself up too bad if this goes the wrong way. You’re a good kid with a whole life in front of you.”
“That might be a little harder, but I’ll try.” I smiled.
“Promise?”
“Pinky promise.” I held out my pinky and he laughed, but connected our pinkies.
“Do you remember when we snuck off to go after Liam Nells? Dick didn’t let us out of his sight for days,” Hank recalled.
“I believe he tried to get Bruce to ground me,” I laughed. “Dawn chewed us out for an hour straight.”
“He deserved it, though,” Hank pointed out. “You don’t get to screw up a relationship and then go after the other person for it.”
“I still don’t understand why we got in so much trouble. He was a jerk,” I sighed.
“Ah, the golden days.” Hank closed his eyes and smiled. We sat in silence as I willed myself not to break down.
“Well, I won’t keep you any longer.” I stood up and put a hand on his shoulder. “You should get some rest.”
“Come here, kid.” He opened his arms for a hug and I embraced him. I began to tear up, but squeezed my eyes shut as to not let any tears fall. I wouldn’t admit it, but the chances of him surviving were very slim. “Thanks for everything.” We let go. I looked at him one more time and smiled.
“Thank you, Hank.” I turned and headed out the door, a single tear streaming down my face. I kept walking down the hallway until I ran into Dick.
“Hey, Elana,” he greeted, but stopped upon seeing my face. “What’s wrong?”
“Nothing,” I shook my head.
“You went to talk to Hank, didn’t you?”
I sighed. “I figured I better say something to him just in case, but I’m not giving up yet.” Dick looked down at his watch. “We’re running out of time.”
“We’ll figure this out, we will,” Dick said. “I talked to Crane. He thinks Jason is doing this because of the fact that he wants a father figure. It wasn’t really that helpful, but I have Conner working on deactivating the bomb.”
“You put that on him? Dick, that’s a lot of pressure.” I crossed my arms.
“I’m also working on a way to fix this, so it’s not only on him.”
“Did you tell him that?”
His expression said it all. “No,” he said, trying to fake that he was sure of himself. I smirked and shook my head.
“I’m gonna go check on him,” I said. “No stupid decisions until I’m back.”
“Your the one that makes those kinds of decisions,” he said.
“I can name a whole lot of stupid decisions you’ve made. When I find time, I’ll write them down.” I smiled, walking backwards toward the clock room.
“Mhmm, come back when you’ve finished that,” he called after me.
After getting into the Cave, I found Conner working on the deactivator. “Hey, Conner,” I greeted.
“Hey, Elana,” he sighed, but smiled.
“Not going so well?” I asked, looking over his shoulder.
“Not really, no.”
“Don’t stress too much over it, you’re pretty brave for doing this. There’s not a lot of people that would. And this is a backup plan if all else fails. The rest of us are trying to figure something out.”
“I’ve been at it forever and I can’t figure this out.” Conner looked at me with sad eyes.
“Hey,” I put a hand on his shoulder, “you are incredibly smart, more so than, don’t tell anyone I said this, everyone else in this building. If anyone’s gonna figure this out, it’s gonna be you.”
“Thanks.” He smiled. “I, uh, was wondering if you’d look over the specs to see if you find anything that can help.”
“Sure.” I nodded. I sat down at the monitor and pulled up the schematics. I flipped through them as Conner continued to work. “Woah, these are pretty advanced,” I mumbled.
“Yeah, I’ve been trying tons of different combinations, but the success rate’s been all over the place,” Conner commented.
“It looks like there could be five possibilities for the central piece.” I set those three parts off to the side. “If you try out the same combinations around the five pieces, you might figure it out.”
“How did I not see that before? Thanks, Elana. That helps a ton.” He smiled, looking less defeated. “Oh, by the way, Dawn was looking for you.”
“Got it. I’ll go find her. Good luck Conner, I believe in you.”
“Thank you again, Lana.” I headed back up the stairs to try to find Dawn. Walking the hallways, I finally found her walking out of the room Hank was in. I noticed her teary eyes. Without saying anything, I pulled her into a hug. After a few bittersweet seconds, she pulled away.
“We can’t let him die,” she said quietly, drying her eyes.
“We won’t,” I said confidently.
“There’s only one thing we can do to stop it. We need that gold. Dick won’t do it and I don’t want to do it alone, but I will. Are you in?”
I nodded. “Yeah, without a doubt.”
—————————
Dawn and I crouched in the rafters of the Central Bank of Gotham’s parking garage. We watched as the van pulled in and the guards got out. There were five of them, armed with submachine guns. I looked at Dawn and she nodded. We dropped from the rafters, taking the guards by surprise.
I took the three to the left, Dawn had the two to the right. I grabbed the barrel of the first guy’s gun and threw it downward, then driving it up to hit the man in the chin for a knockout blow. The other two began shooting at me, so I had to duck for cover behind the van. Once their rounds had finished, I jumped out and threw a throwing star shallowly into each man’s leg. They groaned in pain. I took the opportunity to kick the back of one’s knees and swing him by the arm into the other guy. Their heads collided and they were both out cold.
I looked over at Dawn, who had finished off both of her guys, too. She nodded to me and I nodded back. We both walked over to the truck, seeing the keys to it laying there. Dawn pulled out her flip phone she used to contact Jason and dialed.
“Now what?” she asked into the phone. I tried to divert my attention elsewhere to try to forget who was on the other side of that call, but it didn’t work. “Just tell me where to meet,” Dawn sighed. After a few more seconds, she put the phone away. “He wants to meet alone.”
“No way! I’m not letting you go after him alone!” I exclaimed.
“If I don’t go alone, he could kill Hank,” she said.
“I guarantee you I’m smarter than him. I’ll just hide. He won’t know that I’m there,” I told her. “I just don’t want to see you get hurt.” She considered this for a second before sighing.
“Fine.”
“You won’t regret it, Dawn, I promise.”
—————————
Dawn went inside the alley space to meet Jason while I hung back on the outside of the building, out of view from anyone else, but able to see inside. It only took a minute of us being there for Jason to walk in. He was fully dressed in his Red Hood suit. I hadn’t seen it before. It looked pretty good to be honest.
“Where’s the deactivator?” Dawn demanded.
“In front of you.” I winced at his robotic voice. Dawn looked around and I did, too. She found something but I wasn’t quite sure what it was. “You’re wasting precious time.” I watched Dawn walk over to a box and tentatively pull out a small handgun.
“What the heck is this?” Dawn asked.
“I’ve got the deactivator as promised.” Jason held up that very item. “It engages as soon as I release my finger from the trigger.” I ran a hand through my hair in anxiousness. “You want to save Hank?” He took off his helmet. “All you have to do is kill me.” What the heck is he doing?
“What happened to you?” Dawn asked, exasperated.
“Same thing that happens to everybody- I grew up. You can, too. You just have to face your fear,” Jason said. “Batman did it. It’s easier than you think. Just pull the trigger and you’ll be free.” I moved to get ready to go in.
“You’re a jerk, Jason,” Dawn sighed.
“Yeah, well, we all get there eventually,” Jason said. “Oh, Hank’s gonna blow soon.” Not cool. “So who’s it gonna be, babe? Me or him?” Dawn pointed the gun up. I didn’t even think twice. I ran right in there.
Jason sighed and looked down upon seeing me. “You’re not supposed to be here.”
“What are you doing?” I demanded.
“What has to be done,” he responded. I looked into his eyes, but there was something missing. They were duller than earlier.
“Dawn,” I said warningly.
“You did this, not me,” Dawn said, ignoring me.
“Don’t,” I tried again. A bird-a-rang came out of nowhere and knocked the gun from Dawn’s hands and stuck in a post.
“Dawn,” Dick’s voice came from behind, “Don’t.”
“Who invited that guy?” Jason groaned.
“What did you do?” Dick asked. Dawn and Dick looked at each other for a couple more seconds before jumping for the gun. I watched, unsure of what to do, as they grappled for the weapon. I looked at Jason who had an amused smirk on his face and scoffed in disgust, shaking my head. The next thing I knew, Dawn was holding the gun at Jason.
“Dawn, don’t,” Dick warned. “This is what he wants.”
“Let him have it,” Dawn growled.
“You don’t want to do this,” I tried.
“Don’t tell me what I want! You’re just trying to protect him!” she accused. I was taken aback.
“I’m trying to protect you from making a mistake you can’t come back from,” I told her.
“She’s right. You can’t come back from this. We can save Hank another way,” Dick said.
“He’s lying, Dawn,” Jason said. I glared at him and he made eye contact with me. Those eyes weren’t the same eyes as earlier.
“Gar, talk to me,” Dick said into his comms. He paused. “Dawn, we’re almost there.” Dawn checked her wrist for Hank’s heartbeats left. I could guess it wasn’t too high.
“I can’t wait anymore,” Dawn breathed.
“This won’t fix anything,” I said.
“If you do this, he wins,” Dick added. “He won’t save Hank, he’s lying.”
“Hey, batboy, she’s a grown woman. Let her make her own decision,” Jason sneered. Dawn checked her watch again.
“Dawn,” I said softly. She didn’t listen. “Dawn, if you kill him, you’ll never be the same and you’ll have to live with that guilt forever. That’s not fun, believe me. Look, it doesn’t matter if it’s him you kill or some random person off the street, you’ll never be the same.” She began to breathe heavily. After a few seconds, Dick seemed to be hearing something through the comms.
“Dawn!” he shouted. But it was too late.
She pulled the trigger and I heard the click, expecting the worst. But a bullet never came out. She examined the gun as the deactivator in Jason’s started beeping. Then it dawned on me what he’d done.
“Oops, my bad. Looks like I gave you the detonator,” Jason laughed. I took a step back in shock, my mouth dropping open.
“No,” Dick breathed. We all looked down at the gun in astonishment, and the second we looked back at Jason, he was gone. Dick took the gun from Dawn.
“What happened?” she asked breathlessly. We looked at her sympathetically. “No. No, no, no,” she cried. My heart broke for her and for Hank. He was my family and she and him were always together. Sure they’d gone through a rough patch, but they’d always love each other. Everyone knew that. But now he was gone. I had to stop the tear in my eye from escaping as I put my hand comfortingly on Dawn’s shoulder after Dick had pulled her into a hug. What just happened?
—————————
I sat on the floor of my apartment bedroom against the bed, head down, hands gripping my hair. My eyes were red and my face was tear-stained. How could’ve I let this happen? kept echoing in my head. There was now a hole in the wall that I’d have to fix from my fist. The only reason there weren’t more is because I had switched to punching a pillow. My grief was like a roller coaster. First I was in denial, then I was furious, and now? I couldn’t put words to my sadness. Maybe if I had just turned Jason in, this wouldn’t have happened.
The soft creek of my bedroom window pulled me out of my thoughts. I didn’t even have to look to know who it was.
“Give me one reason why I shouldn’t kill you right here, right now,” I said through gritted teeth.
“Elana-“ Jason started.
“No.” I stood abruptly. “Don’t “Elana” me. You killed Hank today. What makes you think that you can walk in here and have everything magically be okay.”
“Elana, please,” he begged, “let me explain.” He took a step closer and reached out.
“Don’t touch me,” I growled, taking a step back and putting my hand up to distance him from me.
“I’m sorry, Elana. I-I don’t know what came over me. I shouldn’t have done that, I know,” he swallowed. His demeanor was completely different and his eyes had their brightness back. He wasn’t the sadistic, cocky villain that was in the alley four hours ago. “I just came to say that I’m sorry.”
Without a second thought, my hand flew to his face with a loud slapping sound. His head flew back, but he never retaliated. “You should be!” I snapped. “You murdered the man I consider family by strapping a freaking bomb to his chest! Are you insane?! That is Joker-level stuff!” I couldn’t help the tears that fell down my face. “He died painfully and alone and now I wonder if I had just taken you in before this whole thing started if he would still be alive,” my voice died down. “Oh, god.” By back hit the wall as I used it for support. I sank back down to the floor. “Why did you do it?” I asked quietly, raising my puffy eyes to look at his.
“I-I don’t know,” he said honestly, looking at the floor. I closed my eyes and leaned my head back. I felt a hand touch my own. I knew I should brush it off, but something about Jason’s touch made me feel safer. I couldn’t help the silent tears the rolled down my face. I hated crying. I was told when I was with the League that only the weak cry. I especially hated crying in front of other people.
Jason hesitantly wrapped his arms around me in a hug. I didn’t return it, but I didn’t stop it. I knew I should’ve pushed him away, told him to leave, but I just couldn’t. Like before, I felt safer when he was right there. He put a hand on the back of my head in a comforting way and I let my head dropped down on his shoulder. He gently stroked my hair as I tried to calm my breathing. Pulling away from him, I wiped my eyes.
“One more chance. Please, Elana, give me one more chance,” Jason said. I closed my eyes and dropped my head. “I swear, I will make it up to you. If I don’t, I’ll let you take me in. I promise.”
“Jay…”
“No, just hear me out. I want to change. I want to be better. If I mess up, you can throw me in Arkham. Just please, let me try,” he begged, grabbing my hands. “Please.” His eyes shone bright and desperate. I met his gaze and sighed.
“Fine, but if you mess this up, we’re done and I’ll personally escort you to prison,” I warned.
“Thank you. You won’t regret it,” Jason said excitedly.
“But for tonight, I need to be alone,” I said. He nodded.
“Yeah, I- I assumed. I’ll see you later then?” This time, I was the one that nodded. He gave a weak smile, disappearing out the window.
I curled back into myself and reburied my head in my hands. I should’ve said no. I should’ve taken him in right then. I just couldn’t bring myself to. What did I just do?

Amity Park is different
Amity Park has a local superhero.
He's great. He works hard to protect his town. That said, Amity's local hero is a teenager. The people he relies on to help and support him are teenagers. The town's superhero defense is a handful of kids figuring things out on their own.
They do good, but sometimes the people of Amity have to be prepared to lend a hand or hold their own for a bit. That's just how life is under these conditions. Communities come together and support each other. It's fine. People adapt. Life goes on. They're really doing quite well.
A class from Amity Park visits a museum in Gotham on a field trip. They get caught in an unfortunately timed Scarecrow attack.
Scarecrow should have known better than to activate the fight or flight responses of a group of Amity Parkers.
The gas canister drops and discharges. The field trip group explodes into action.
A pair of Football players quickly overturns a table and use it as a shield as they charge the goons with the most firepower. Cheerleaders toss each other into the air for aerial attacks. Nerds turn objects from a nearby Janitor closet into a surprisingly effective trebuchet with astounding speed. One girl utilizes impressive martial arts skills.
A boy with Black hair and blue eyes flits about the battlefield pilfering and disassembling weapons with a shocking degree of efficiency as a Goth girl follows him around and bludgeon anyone who attempts to make a grab for him with a stand that had been holding up a rope barrier, and a boy in a beret lays down cover fire by launching pencils out of a makeshift bow formed from a binder and rubber bands with a startling degree of accuracy.
The teacher flits around pulling kids out of the path of attacks they hadn't seen, stowing any injured behind cover, and giving foes solid thwack on the noggin when the opportunity arises. He actually ends up knocking out Scarecrow himself.
The statement "We're not trapped in here with you. You're trapped in here with us," is repeated several times by different people.
When the Bats or police arrive, they have to carefully pull the feildtrip group off of the unfortunate rogues.
It takes a while to get the antidotes administered, but they do eventually manage. The class remains in defensive formation the whole time.
When the kids finally calm down enough to give statements, they mostly just say that Scarecrow gets what he gets for deliberately activating Amity Parkers' fight or flight responses. After the antidotes take effect, the class seems unfazed and goes about their business as soon as the authorities allow.
Some other visitors to the museum upload videos of the event online with titles like "the one class that was prepared for a field trip to Gotham" and "What kind of place is Amity Park, and why haven't I heard of it before?"
It doesn't take long for people to edit the videos to set the fight to music. Popular song choices include Ballroom Blitz, Bring 'em Out by Hawk Nelson, and the "we like to party" song from the six flags commercial.
Now the Bats are investigating Amity Park (and why they haven't heard of it before).

(DCXDP) The obligations of a rogue versus those of a parent (Pt. 5)
Tw: torture scene (GiW agent receiving), general angst, canon-typical violence (DC), nobody is having a good time
Will be crossposted to AO3 eventually
(Masterlist/subscription post)
It was pretty easy for Danny to forget that Dr. Crane was a rogue at times.
Most of the time he wasn’t comically evil, like what he’d expect of a Gotham rogue. He was helping Danny, even if only because he didn’t want to be taken in by the GiW as well. He was even downright nice most of the time, or at least neutral.
Sure, he had a strange obsession with fear and psychology, but that wasn’t really out of the ordinary for Danny. It didn’t feel like living with a rogue, just like…staying with a distant relative, or something.
He seemed like just an ordinary person.
Today, though, Danny was brought back to reality.
The GiW agent they’d tracked down together writhed on the ground, screaming in pain and terror. Scarecrow was sat a few feet away, setting up a syringe of the antidote he’d made.
After a few more moments, he injected the man with the antidote, watching him like a hawk the entire time.
Suddenly, the man surged forward, lunging at Scarecrow with a feral scream.
Unluckily for him, though, he was still weak from the fear toxin in his system, and from the beatings he’d received prior. Scarecrow easily wrestled him to the ground, settling himself on the broad part of the agent’s back with a vice grip on one of his arms.
“Let’s try again,” he said sharply, all of the warmth Danny had grown used to gone from his voice. “Where is the GiW base of operations?”
The agent took several shuddering breaths before spitting at Scarecrow, defiance and hatred written all over his face.
For just a moment, the room was utterly silent.
“Fine, have it your way.”
Scarecrow began to twist the man’s arm further. It wasn’t long before the agent began to squirm, then writhe, beneath him. Danny’s stomach churned.
“You know,” Scarecrow began, almost conversationally, “there are plenty of jobs that one can get without the use of their legs, especially with the level of education you have. Anything that doesn’t involve hard labor, really.”
The man’s face was beginning to turn red in his struggle not to scream. He took in gasping breaths, the way that his mouth moved almost reminding Danny of a goldfish.
(He felt awful for the comparison, but it was true.)
“However,” Scarecrow continued, “I find you’d be rather hard-pressed to find a job without the use of your arms. Especially in a place like Gotham, where you can always be replaced by someone eager to do your job for even less money. Of course, you could most likely coast off of savings and severance pay for a while, but…”
He leaned closer to the man’s head, his voice lowering.
“Would you be able to live like that? To live with yourself, if you no longer have a purpose?”
He allowed the agent a few seconds of rest before increasing the pressure on his arm. The agent gasped, letting out a strangled hiss. His arm bones were making fascinating noises in response to the strain. Danny felt sick.
“You seem like a rather driven young man. I’m sure your family would hate to see you unmotivated, directionless. Would they resent you, do you think?”
“Fuck you, you—”
The man was cut off by his own scream as Scarecrow finally allowed his arm to break, audibly splintering into thousands of useless shards of bone.
He had the exact pressure memorized. Clearly, he had done this before.
This was wrong. This was wrong.
Shouldn’t Danny step in, do something?
“That won’t heal cleanly. Even with the best medical care in the world, you’ll end up with permanent damage.”
The man below him wheezed and sobbed, choking on air as Scarecrow let go of his arm carelessly, letting it flop back onto the ground.
“Just the sort of thing something like you deserves,” Scarecrow hissed, his voice cold.
“You tortured a child, and you enjoyed it. You laughed with your friends about it. In your notes, one of your friends complained about the screaming,” Scarecrow brought his leg around, grinding his boot into the man’s broken arm. He howled in agony, writhing uncontrollably.
“Was it inconvenient to him, do you think? Too loud? If you were joking about it, clearly you thought so, too. I could fix that as well.”
He drew out another needle, this one once again filled with fear toxin.
“Scarecrow, wait,” Danny choked out.
Scarecrow turned to look at him.
Even his posture was different than usual. He looked… stiff, more like an animal than a man. When he tilted his head at Danny in a silent question, it looked like something in his neck had snapped, his head lolling to the side.
Danny wondered if he was consciously moving like that, or if it was habit at this point.
“You—we don’t have to do this. We can get information some other way, right? You don’t have to…”
Danny looked down at the GiW agent below Scarecrow. He didn’t even have it in him to glare up at Danny like he had before. Instead he laid limply on the ground, tremors rolling through his body uncontrollably.
“We’ve exhausted every other option and you know it,” Scarecrow said, his voice low, “this is the only way we can move forward.”
“Still, I—I don’t,” Danny swallowed, his throat tight, “this isn’t—this isn’t right. Isn’t there some other way to do this? Like—a truth serum, or something?”
“Truth serums are notoriously unreliable. They’re almost as bad as lie detectors. We’re much more likely to get a reliable result from this.”
Danny just stared at the GiW agent and his splintered, ruined arm. He began to weakly wriggle in Scarecrow’s grasp, which was graciously ignored.
He vaguely remembered himself doing the same thing when he was on the operating table; even if he knew there was no chance of escape, he still thrashed and screamed, desperate to get away. The jagged I-shaped incision on his torso felt uncomfortably warm.
What was there left to say?
“The Bat does the same thing at times, you know,” Scarecrow said, “him and the rest of his brood. By using my toxin, I’m actually lessening the amount of permanent damage that I’m doing. Physically.”
“Still, that doesn’t make it right,” Danny said desperately. “Even if—even if everyone in the world did this, it wouldn’t make it right.”
Scarecrow hummed.
They were both silent for a moment.
His next words were gentle, absurdly so when compared to the scene in front of him.
“I would love an alternative. But…”
He shrugged, hand coming to rest on the break in the GiW agent’s arm. Even without applying any pressure, the man stopped squirming immediately.
“There aren’t any other options,” Danny repeated, his voice flat and his body numb.
“Yes,” Scarecrow said. “I’m sorry.”
There was a pause. No one moved a muscle. Eventually Scarecrow spoke again, his voice strangely empty.
“You can stand outside and keep watch, if you’d like. At such a short distance their radars won’t pick us up.”
Danny said nothing, leaving the room silently.
He sat outside for quite a while.
He was grateful that Scarecrow had, with his help, dragged the agent to one of his previous hideouts. It was soundproofed, after all.
He was glad that he didn’t have to hear the rest of what Scarecrow did to the man.
After what felt like an eternity, Dr. Crane left the building, joining him outside. He guided Danny back to his beat up old truck and they drove home in silence.
“Did you at least…do you know where they are, now?” Danny asked as they entered the apartment, his voice small.
“They didn’t share the details of all of their locations with any one person. I know where one of their locations are, but not their main base of operations.”
Danny felt disgusted. With himself, with Dr. Crane, with the GiW.
He was disgusted by the agent, too. Did he just hate the restless dead so much that he would prefer to be tortured than to give them the upper hand? Did he really think he was in the right?
Was there a chance that he was?
Danny felt very, very small, and very stupid. Stupid and weak and cowardly.
“Danny,” Dr. Crane spoke, his voice soft.
“I’m truly sorry that this is happening to you. I really, truly wish that you didn’t have to endure my company. I…”
He fell quiet. Danny wondered if he was just saying this to pacify him, or if he truly meant it. He wondered if it really mattered in the end.
After a few moments of silence, Dr. Crane sighed, looking truly pained.
“I don’t know. I’m sorry.”
Danny was quiet.
“I’m going to bed early,” he finally said, turning away and leaving without a second glance.

We all know "Hawke Brainrot", which is regardless of Hawke's personality/actions, and whether the NPC in question loves or hates them, they are still practically scrambling for their undivided attention/approval.
We have Not discussed "Anders Brainrot" in which people see this manic exhausted spidery man and say "Well now that ain't right. I must mother him." One of the gifts you give him in Awakening is a scarf. Big Bad HoF went no this man cannot survive the winter—without THIS come here bby. A spirit of Justice saw how shit his life was and went "I think you need my professional help."
Obviously Hawke has it, they have the funds to keep Anders comfortable like an eccentric debutant crafting a particularly luxurious guinea pig habitat, but they can also just bring him into THEIR house and pile blankets on him and kiss him on the mouth.
NO ONE had it worse than Varric though, he was bending over backwards. Jumping through hoops. Hawke where is your sad scarecrow man, I must see the scarecrow man. Is he okay. Do not tell him I asked this.

Another Miraculous Crossover Nobody Wanted (DCxML)
In the midst of so many Batfamily/Miraculous crossovers, the thing I feel so many people forget is that the Waynes are...well...themselves.
Sure, they're awesome vigilantes. Trained in martial arts and with great mental fortitude to help them against the likes of Scarecrow's fear gas, Joker's venom, and Mad Hatter's manipulations.
...the problem is that Hawk Moth is a whole different ballgame.
He doesn't target their fears or dreams. He targets ANYTHING. Like petty annoyances. Frustrations. Sleep deprivation. Obsessions. Things the Batfamily generally try to ignore on a regular basis.
If he can akumatize and reakumatize the same man over his love of pigeons and people who feel they've been wronged over silly reasons, there's SO MUCH that could come from the complete dysfunction/emotional constipation that is the Wayne family. Remember, ANY frustration or annoyance or upset counts.
Meaning Ladybug and Chat will be having their hands full with the Waynes until they leave.
And given that Hawk Moth comes up with the silliest costumes and powers...
...the others would never let them live it down.
...
It was a beautiful day in Paris. And an absolutely wonderful vacation to the City of Love, where everything was peaceful and nothing was wrong.
Dick stood at the window looking out over the city.
Tim was on his computer doing some reports. Possibly Wayne Enterprises work, but more likely mission work.
Damien had apparently gotten tired of grumbling and was focused on sharpening his sword—which Bruce really shouldn’t have let him bring. But given the situation, he couldn’t argue against letting Damien have something that would help him stay calm.
Cass had found a magazine to occupy her time, though she seemed somewhat confused as to the male teen model that kept appearing in nearly every line.
And Jason…
…he was grinning. And watching Bruce with such anticipation, looking downright hopeful as he waited. Not helping was that he was holding what appeared to be a brand new camera, fully prepared to start recording.
Bruce knew why.
But he would not give him the satisfaction.
Because nothing was going to happen.
Absolutely nothing.
Bruce twitched.
SNAP!
And his pen cracked from the sheer amount of pressure he was putting on it. Which was admittedly an annoyance, but wasn’t that big of a deal…
…if it wasn’t the 15th pen he’d broken in the past three hours.
It was fine though.
Nothing was wrong.
He was calm.
Calm.
Calm.
A muffled voice could be heard from outside despite the room being on the seventh floor of a building. Which of course was a coincidence and not because someone was actually right outside the room….and the building.
And perhaps if Bruce tried really hard, he could convince himself was just someone singing a line out of “American Pie” and not someone talking about butterflies.
No.
Because there were no butterflies outside. Because he was fine!
Not the slightest bit upset!
At. All.
“That’s thirty-three…” Dick counted.
…Dammit.
Bruce sighed.
“Did she come back to the roof?”
“Actually, she never left.” Tim confirmed, not even looking up from his computer. “She stopped leaving after the last incident and has just been standing there for the past couple hours now, catching them as they come.”
A long pause.
“How…?”
“Her partner has been bringing her water and snacks. And keeping watch whenever she has to leave to hibernate or use the little bug’s room.”
Bruce groaned.
Why couldn’t it be a villain? Or a fan or stalker? He could deal with those. He dealt with them all the time.
It was the well intentioned young superheroes that he had a harder time dealing with. The ones that wanted to help but were misguided in not understanding that their help wasn’t necessary.
“Gotcha!”
“Thirty-four.” Dick droned.
…no matter how many magical butterflies implied otherwise.
“Maybe we should do what the nice Ladybug hero asked and finish up our business in Paris?” Tim suggested.
“I refuse!” Damien shouted, jumping to his feet. “This villain has made a mockery of us and it must not be allowed to stand! I will not leave until he has been caught and my sword has tasted his blood!”
“Damien, we don’t kill, remember?”
“I wouldn’t kill him.” Damien said, looking away with a pout. “Just…dismember him a bit.” He frowned, consideringly. “Maybe cut off his arms. He can’t continue villainy then, right?”
Tim sighed.
“So that’s a no on going home early then.”
They heard a noise from the roof.
“Is she leaving?” Bruce asked, trying to hide how hopeful he was.
“Nope. It’s her catboyfriend back again.” Dick replied, blithely.
Bruce sighed.
“Do you think they’re dating?”
“Dick.” Bruce warned.
“Because the city seems to be really hamming up the romantic angle between the two and it’s kinda hard to not see.” Dick continued.
“Dick.”
“Even if it is kinda weird that they’re essentially shipping teenagers.”
“Speaking from experience there, Dickie Boy?” Jason cut in, cheekily.
“Stop it. Both of you.” Bruce ordered. “The goal of coming to Paris was supposed to be to deal with the emotional terrorism from Hawk Moth.”
“A little hard with all your emotional constipation there, B.”
Jason smirked.
“Or should I say ‘Justice Man’?”
Bruce twitched.

meeting ominis gaunt in hogwarts (the slytherin silver quartet)
ominis gaunt x reader (hogwarts legacy)
-platonic (for now)
beware of spoilers in the comments/tags/reblogs!
Tumblr media
okay so imagine being a halfblood living in one of the little hamlets around hogwarts
your parents sell wares, your mother put up a little table outside your house while your father is a travelling merchant
and sometimes you would beg your father to take you with him as he travels to other hamlets to trade and hawk wares
this is where you meet the twins from feldcroft, sebastian and anne
they took to you immediately, playing on your little brooms, trying to sneak past the scarecrow and giggling when it drives you away from the pumpkins
you three became fast friends, tearful goodbyes every time your father told you that it was time to leave
you make the twins promise to send you an owl, and they do! you exchange letters and gifts during birthdays and christmas, and you all go to hogsmeade together to shop for your school supplies when you got your owl from hogwarts
you three were nervous when you arrive at hogwarts--sebastian and anne were afraid of being separated, and you were afraid of being separated from them
so it was to everyone’s joy that you were all sorted to slytherin!
you happily sat across the twins in the great hall, beside a quiet boy you remember was called “ominis”
he hasn’t said a word to you, but you three introduced yourself to him
slowly and surely, he begins to hang out with you three, first just because you all had classes together
but eventually, you had somehow gotten him to hang out with you three!
you all especially liked to hang out in the DADA tower, listening to the quartet music, or have tea while you wait for your classes
ominis was quiet, doesn’t say much, but has really taken to sebastian and they became best friends
almost making you and anne jealous with their rapport
“they fight like old married couples!” you and anne giggle to each other, watching as they exchange snarky remarks
you basically do everything together, and when curfew sets in, you four are in the common room, by one of the large windows
anne has convinced people that if they look closely, they can spot mermaids swim past the windows (a blatant lie that you vouch for)
sebastian says nothing but ominis rolls his eyes, but they dont tell the other students otherwise
also imagine if ominis’ family hear about you being a half-blood
one of your parents is a muggle (let’s say your dad), but only blinked twice when your mother informed them of her magical powers
your dad took to the magical world so well that none of the other merchants even questioned it
they sent ominis a very strongly worded letter, reminding him of his last name and what it means, reminding him that he is salazar slytherin’s legacy and the importance of blood purity blah blah blah
ominis didnt have the same views his family have even before meeting you, and it certainly didnt change after that
if anything, he began to despise his family even more
how dare his family think so lowly of you, despite you being one of his best friends
how could you be any less than him when you take the time to answer all his questions and make sure you all sit down in the common room and work through several inches of parchments for your homework
why would he think any less of you when he finds you poring through dozens of books in the library, trying to see if there was any way to improve the spell he uses to navigate the castle
or when you would painstakingly and patiently describe to him the play by play of every quidditch match
if anything, ominis has the utmost respect for you
and eventually, it’ll grow into something else entirely...
not done playing hogwarts legacy yet but i love sebastian, anne, and ominis so much!! the true slytherin representation we deserve!!

This is the Welcome Post and the Fanfic Masterlist!
Requests for full fanfics are closed indefinitely! Choose Your Own Price Commissions are currently open! See info about commissioning me here.
Requests for Headcanons are currently open!
Headcanons are just my opinions on things, like how I think the characters would react to certain things or how they would behave in certain situations. Examples: “How would Shigaraki react to his girlfriend naming her pet cat after him?” Or “How would the JJK guys behave if you dragged them to a Denny’s at 3am?”
About Me
I’m currently 39 😱 I’m obsessed with the color pink and I’m a country girl (born, raised, and currently live in the Appalachian mountains). I speak with a thick southern accent. I collect figures. I’m a huge nerd in every way. I love comic books (both manga and American comics), video games (mostly JRPG’s, Otome/Dating Sims, and Survival Horror), Star Wars, Kaiju/Tokusatsu, and all things Horror. I read a lot, mostly fantasy and horror. I grew up in a conservative religious household and I’m still trying to unlearn a lot of bullshit, so please bear with me.
I write for two fandoms currently: Boku no Hero Academia and Jujutsu Kaisen. I might write for others at some point and I’ve written tons for other fandoms over the years. I also write original fiction. I would deeply appreciate any support (reblogs/comments/likes) for my original stuff because that’s where my true passion lies. I’m somewhat slow with posting updates to my fics but I promise I’m trying. I tag my x Reader fics with the x reader tag so that people who hate x reader can filter it out easily. I haven’t always done this so I’m in the process of going back and properly tagging everything.
I mostly post my writings here. It’s mostly fanfiction but there are some headcanons and opinionated rants here and there. I’m trying to go back and tag them all. You can look for the tags “Jjk headcanons” and “bnha headcanons” (that’s what I’ll be tagging them). Otherwise I mostly just reblog fanart and gif sets. I reblog fanfiction over on @candycandyreblogs. Consider it a curated library of excellent stories. Feel free to follow it! Every fanfic on there is amazing!
I’m always up for making friends! So feel free to message me and chat!

I’m fine with dark content/rape/horror/gore/etc. I can do NSFW or SFW. Please specify if it’s not clear in your request.
Please specify the gender of the Reader (any gender is fine, no gender is fine).
That’s it! Anon is always on!
Feel free to ask me questions, give me suggestions, or just chat!

Masked Love (Part 7)
Pairing- Jason Todd x OC; Dick Grayson x Platonic!Reader
Warnings- violence, bombs, guns
Summary- Trust is broken between teammates as Elana and Dick attempt to discover Crane’s next move, and Elana tries to clear up her relationship.
Word Count- 4,554
“Elana!” a hissing whisper came from the dark of my bedroom. I shot up initially, ready to defend myself, but relaxed when I recognized Jason creeping in through my window. I threw off the covers and sat up. “We need to talk.”
“Okay,” I nodded. Crap. He knew. “Let’s go to the kitchen.” I threw on one of my sweatshirts and led him into the kitchen.
“Did I wake you up?” he asked.
“No, I couldn’t sleep,” I shook my head. I sat down on a kitchen stool and he leaned up against the counter with a conflicted look on his face. “What’s wrong?”
“You didn’t tell me that Crane sent Lady Vic after you? Or dosed you with a form of fear toxin?” he asked, clearly annoyed. I sighed and looked down. “Why didn’t you say anything? You can always come talk to me.”
“I know,” I groaned. “I was just trying to figure things out on my own.”
“You don’t need to do that. I’m here to help you. Do you not trust me or something?”
“No, it’s not that at all. I trust you completely, I just- I don’t know. I thought
you didn’t need to worry about,” I said.
“Elana, you do this a lot. I don’t know if it’s in your head from the League that you don’t need help ever, but that’s not true.” I pursed my lips. “God, Elana. You could’ve been killed.”
“You really think that blonde idiot could’ve killed me?” I scoffed.
“If not her, than the toxin. When you had your nightmare, it wasn’t actually a nightmare, was it? What did you see?”
“Nothing,” I lied.
“Elana, listen,” he sat down next to me. “I’m trying to help you. Just tell me so that I can help.”
I sighed. “Good moments and bad moments from my entire life. My time with the League, coming home, meeting you, joining the Titans, my parents deaths, us breaking up. I could barely watch it,” my voice got small.
“There’s nothing to be ashamed of about that. You watched some of the worst moments in your life replay in front of you. Most people wouldn’t be able to handle that. And you said it wasn’t all bad,” he offered a smile. “Next time, you gotta tell me, though.”
“Yeah,” I said softly. A grin spread across my face. “How was Lady Vic after her encounter with me?”
Jason laughed before responding. “Limping, bloody, bruised. It was a fairly interesting sight.” I chuckled.
“I did warn her,” I said.
“Yeah, after that, she hightailed it out of the city. You scared her off.”
“Good.” We sat there in silence, looking everywhere but each other until I finally looked over at him.
“Well, since that’s cleared up, I should let you get some sleep. You need it.”
“I feel like that was a secret message that I look tired,” I laughed.
“Hey, even tired, you still look beautiful,” he smiled.
“Aw, Jay, how romantic of you,” I snickered.
“Yeah? Don’t let it get out,” he stood up. He wrapped his arms around my waist and kissed me gently.
“Are you staying?” I asked after we broke the kiss.
“I wish, but I’ve got places to be,” he sighed.
“You do remember my offer about the Bahamas, right?” I put on a fake serious face.
“Maybe when all of this is over I’ll take you to the Bahamas,” he laughed.
“Fine,” I sighed dramatically. “I guess than you have to make this business stuff quick.”
“I guess,” he smiled.
“I’ll see you later, then?”
He planted a quick kiss on my lips. “You know it. I’ll be painfully waiting to see you again,” he said dramatically.
“I’ll miss you,” I laughed.
“I’ll miss you more,” he said, climbing out the window. I shook my head with a smile on my face and headed back into my bedroom.
—————————
I was woken up to the sound of a ringing phone. I groaned and answered the call, not even bothering to look at the caller ID.
“What do you want?” I asked.
“Crane and Jason’s drug hit the streets and attacks are skyrocketing,” Dick’s voice came through.
“Yeah and?”
“Since when do I need to spell it out for you?” Dick scoffed.
“Since you woke me up,” I shot.
“You were asleep?” he sounded surprised.
“Why do you say it like that?”
“You don’t sleep. I’m impressed you actually did. Now get to the Cave. We have work to do.” He hung up on me. I groaned and put my phone down. I hate Dick.
“Drug’s been out for two hours. Crane and Red Hood were only doing a trial run,” Dick sighed. I sat on one of the tables, listening closely and watching the disturbing footage on the monitor.
“Crane is weaponizing anyone willing to take his drug,” Kory said. “It’s turning people into violent psychopaths.”
“That’s what he did with Jason,” Gar spoke up.
“Thank you,” I nodded.
“Jason’s gone. He’s Red Hood now. It’s time we all except what he is,” Dick looked at Gar, then focused his gaze on me. I knew what he said wasn’t true and honestly, I thought Gar was right. “Now Crane has the multiplier and is using it to produce his drug.” Gar looked over at me and I shook my head.
“This was the damage after three inhalers,” Kory said.
“Imagine what happens with thirty thousand,” I scoffed.
“Gotham‘ll tear itself apart,” Gar said.
“Did you do the scans on the machine yet?” Dick asked Gar.
“I tried to trace the multiplier’s heat and power signatures, but so far nothing. It’s like he’s hidden it.”
“Keep looking,” Dick said. He began to walk away, but I stopped him.
“Where are you going?” I asked, crossing my arms.
“There’s another computer at the GCPD, does this sort of thing,” he looked at me with a ‘I hate to say this but I will’ look. And I knew what he meant. My mouth dropped open in surprise. “Better hardware.”
“Why haven’t we been using it?” Kory asked.
“Because it’s illegal,” I sighed. I got up and followed after him out of the Cave.
—————————
Dick and I walked up to Babs who was talking with an officer. Right as we got it her, the officer walked away.
“Hey,” she greeted. Dick echoed her. “Any luck?” she asked. We began walking toward her office.
“That SBM machine Crane stole is part of a city-wide ramp up. He’s in production,” Dick said.
“So is that hundreds or dozens of doses?” Barbara asked.
“Thousands,” I smiled sarcastically. “On the streets by tonight.”
“Jeez,” Babs breathed.
“That machine has a searchable heat signature, but the Batcomputer can’t see it,” Dick said. “We need something that can see a little deeper.” Barbara knew exactly what he was referring to.
“No,” she said. “Don’t even ask.”
“Babs, look,” I started. “Oracle’s our only hope.”
“She’s right. Bruce couldn’t stop Scarecrow until he used Oracle,” Dick added.
“And then the NSA slapped an injunction on us and I don’t really feel like going to jail,” Barbara hissed.
“They’ll never know,” I said in a sing-sing voice.
“That sounds like something Bruce would say,” she sighed.
“If we don’t use it, more people are going to die,” Dick said. “We all know that.”
“I just promised myself I wouldn’t,” Babs looked down.
“You didn’t get rid of it, did you?” Dick asked. “Why not?”
“Because I imagined a moment in the future so terrible that we might need it,” she sighed.
“That moment? It’s here,” I said. She exhaled and began wheeling toward the elevator. We followed her down into the elevator and into a dark room. The Oracle room. A pad at the entrance scanned her eyes and a automatic voice spoke up.
“Access verified,” it said. “Gordon, Barbara.” A huge eye-looking thing, Oracle, lit up multicolored in front of us, turning on all the other lights, too. “You have company,” Oracle said. “Identification requested.” A scan moved over me and Dick in the blink of an eye. “Identify. Grayson, Richard John. Queen-Lance, Dinah Elana Moira,” Oracle recited.
“I hate my name,” I mumbled.
“Hello, Dick and Elana,” Oracle greeted.
“Hello, Oracle,” Dick said.
“Sup,” I added.
“My condolences for the loss of Mr. Todd, and Mr. Hall, and Mr. Wayne’s sudden departure.”
“I see you’ve updated your data systems,” Dick sighed.
“As is my program upon activation,” Oracle said.
“Wait, wait, wait.” Barbara and Dick turned to me with alarmed looks. “If you know everything, did Liam Nells break up with Blaine Hall?”
“Really?” Babs asked.
“What’s wrong with you?” Dick scoffed.
“What? I need to know and they both kinda disappeared,” I shrugged.
“Liam Nells has currently dropped out of college and broken up with Blaine Hall,” Oracle answered me.
“Ha, suck it,” I snickered.
“Okay, back on topic,” Dick said.
“Is there anything I can do for you, Mr. Grayson?” Oracle asked.
“The three of you like some time alone?” Babs asked.
“Command search, Dr. Jonathan Crane,” Dick ordered, answering her question.
“Of course, one moment,” Oracle said. It turned blue. “Public communication, negative. Would you like to search private communications?” Dick said yes at the same time Babs said no. I snickered. “Invalid answer.”
“Yeah,” Babs mumbled.
“Yes,” I said.
“Of course, one moment.” A second later, a jumble voices came through the speakers. There were arguments, curses, and everything else you could have a conversation about. In the mess of noise, I was able to pick out Crane’s voice.
“That’s Crane,” Barbara said.
“Good. 6328 Bolingjer Avenue. I’ll be there in six minutes,” Crane said.
“On my way,” the other man said. Dick began to walk away.
“Dick, wait,” Babs tried.
“I’ll tell you what I find,” Dick said. Babs looked at me and I shrugged, hurrying after Dick. We got in the elevator and as the door closed, Dick called Conner to meet us at the address. He hung up the phone and looked over at me. “Let’s end this.” I nodded.
—————————
Dick and I pulled up to the address that Crane was supposed to be at and found a red van. Conner sped up near to us only seconds later.
“Crane?” he asked.
“Maybe,” Dick said. “Can you scan it?” Conner stepped forward, using his X-ray vision to look into the van.
“It’s covered in lead. I can’t see through,” he said.
“That’s not ominous at all,” I mumbled. “All right boys, knuckle up. You two take sides, I got head on.” I began walking toward the van. We snuck toward the car and whipped the door open to find a man with duck tape over his mouth. Next to him on the wall was written ‘Save me Dick Grayson’.
“He knew we were coming,” Dick breathed.
“Because why can’t anything ever be easy?” I threw my hands up. Dick got into the van next to the man and pulled back his jacket. There was a bomb strapped to the man’s chest. The same type of bomb Hank had on his.
“Oh, crap,” he mumbled. “You’re gonna be okay,” he tried to reassure the man. I got Hank flashbacks and had to shake my head to refocus. “Defuse it,” Dick said to Conner. Conner looked at it with his X-ray vision. “Conner?”
“It’s been modified,” Conner said. “I can’t defuse it. You two gotta go.”
“What?” Dick asked. I looked at the man with sympathy.
“Conner, we can’t leave him,” I said.
“There’s no time,” Conner insisted. The man tried to talk through the tape, but couldn’t.
“What are you talking about?” Dick asked.
“There’s no time!” Conner shouted. Out of no where, Conner threw Dick backwards. Before I could process, I was thrown back, too. The van exploded right as I rolled out of the way. I looked into the fire for Conner, but he was alright. The other guy, not so much. Jason would hear about this later.
“That van was a trap,” Conner walked through the fire, toward us. “Who gave you this address?”
“Someone I should’ve known better than to trust,” Dick sighed.
“Got that right,” I mumbled. Dick pulled out his phone and called Barbara.
“Crane is in Oracle,” he said. “He tried to kill us. It was a setup. I don’t know how he got in.”
“But he got in,” I said into the phone. “We can use this.”
“You could’ve died!” Babs exclaimed.
“Yeah, but we didn’t,” I pointed out.
“We’ll talk about it more in person. We’re on our way,” Dick said, then hung up.
“Thanks Conner,” I said to him before following after Dick who had began to walk back to the car. Once we were in, I tried to text Jason to yell at him. He didn’t respond.
“Who are you texting?” Dick asked.
“An old friend,” I lied. “From Star City.”
“That’s weird timing,” he said.
“Yeah,” I nodded. He looked at me weirdly, but put his eyes back up front and started the car.
—————————
Dick, Barbara, and I sat in the Oracle room, staring at the now inoperable computer.
“It’s completely inaccessible?” Dick asked.
“Yeah,” Babs said. “To us and to Crane. He hacked the system. He knew that we knew. So I decided that any attempt to manipulate this situation would be pointless.”
“We could’ve manipulated Crane using Oracle. It was right there in front of us, but you had it destroyed,” I sighed. “Why?”
“He tried to kill you!” Barbara exclaimed. “I was afraid that he might actually be successful next time.”
“We don’t need you to protect us,” Dick said. “Be stronger than that.”
“Excuse me?” Babs scoffed.
“Your fear of this machine cost us the one lead we had. If you can’t keep your emotions in check, you can’t help me,” Dick said.
“Emotions?” Barbara scoffed. “You are working with someone who let her emotions get out of check and might be endangering this entire operation.” Barbara looked directly at me.
“Excuse me?” I asked.
“What does that mean?” Dick asked.
“Before I shut Oracle down, I did what you asked me to,” Babs said.
“What is she talking about, Dick?” I asked him. He looked down. “What?” I demanded.
“He had me check your phone to see who you have been constantly talking to,” Barbara told me.
“You bugged my phone?!” I shouted. My heart skipped a beat.
“Why have you been talking to Jason?” Babs asked. Dick’s head snapped toward me.
“What?!” Dick exclaimed.
“That is none of your business,” I hissed.
“It very well is. We are going up against him and you’ve still been talking to him. Since when?” Dick demanded.
“Since before Hank,” I said. Dick laughed scornfully and ran a hand through his hair.
“Are you nuts?!”
“How was I supposed to know?!”
“And you kept talking to him after?!”
“I haven’t told him anything at all. We only talk about us. The only reason I was able to turn myself around from the League assassin I was, was because I had someone who believed in me. I’m trying to give that to Jason. I’m trying to get him back. Better a friend than an enemy,” I said. “Which, I guess, is what you’re trying to make me now.” I got right in his face. “All I’m trying to do is help. So stay out of my business before I keep you out of my business.” I spun on my heel and headed to the door.
“Hey! You don’t get to walk away in the middle of a conversation!” Dick called after me.
“That conversation was over when I walked away.” Both him and Babs called after me, but I ignored them and stepped in the elevator.
—————————
A knock at the door of my apartment made me groan. “Go away, Dick!” I shouted.
“It’s not Dick. It’s Gar,” they shouted back.
“Come in, it’s open,” I called. The door opened and he walked in. “Hey,” I greeted.
“Hey,” he sighed. “You good? Dick said that you’ve been…” he trailed off.
“Talking to Jason? Yeah, I have,” I nodded. “I assume he didn’t tell you how he figured that out?” Gar shook his head. “He bugged my phone using an illegal computer.”
“I don’t get it,” Gar said. “You didn’t give him any information. You wouldn’t do that. Why is Dick so mad?”
“Because Dick’s a drama queen,” I snickered. “But I think you have the right idea about Crane manipulating Jason.”
“That’s what I’m here about.” He reached into his pocket and pulled out a piece of paper. “Do you know a Molly Jenson?”
“Yeah, she was one of Jason’s friends from before Bruce took him in. She helps kids without homes,” I said.
“This is a letter from her saying that she wants to help Jason. It’s from not long before he died, and I thought maybe she could help us.”
“I say we try it,” I nodded. “She knew Jason before I did and he kinda disappeared on me for a while until three days before he died. If she had seen him, she could add something we haven’t figured out yet.”
“Yeah,” Gar said, though he looked like he was thinking about something else. “Today, at the van, you almost died. There’s no way Jason purposefully tried to kill you.”
“That’s what I was thinking. It would make sense if Crane was manipulating him. He used to freak out if he gave me a bruise in training,” I laughed to myself. “I doubt he would try to kill me. He knows that Dick and I usually do detective work together, so if he was going after Dick, he would do it differently. And he wouldn’t let Crane do anything that could hurt me. You should’ve heard the lecture I got this morning for not telling him about my encounter with Lady Vic.”
“You fought Lady Vic? Jason came here this morning?” Gar asked.
“Yes and yes,” I nodded. “Don’t tell Dick.”
“Got it,” Gar nodded. “We’re gonna bring him back.”
“That’s the spirit,” I smiled. His phone buzzed in his pocket and he pulled it out.
“It’s from Dick. Says they found the location of Crane’s operations,” Gar told me.
“You go ahead. I’ll be there eventually whether Dick likes it or not,” I said. Gar nodded and headed out the door. I groaned and sat up. My phone started to ring and I checked who it was. It was Dick. I thought about not answering, but I decided he was probably calling to beg for my help.
“You have thirty seconds,” I answered.
“I need your help,” Dick sighed. “We found where Crane is operating out of. If we can stop him here, we can end this now.”
“Can you trust me enough to fight at my side?” I said with sass in my tone.
“Elana, I trust you with my life, I always will. I shouldn’t have asked Barbara to use Oracle on you. I’m sorry. You don’t have to forgive me, but the Titans need you now,” he pleaded.
“Where is it?” I sighed.
“Snowy Cones,” he answered.
“I’ll be there.” I hung up. I stared down at my phone I shook my head. “I should’ve said no,” I mumbled.
—————————
All of the Titans were hiding in the rafters of Snowy Cones, watching and waiting. I had brushed Dick off earlier while we were getting inside. Our plan was simple; ambush. It worked every time.
Dick dropped grappling hooks down into some of the guards and I shot arrows into the pipes, sending gas spewing out into the room. The guards yelled and moved around frantically. In the cover, we dropped out of the rafters.
“Over here, fellas,” Dick said. They all turned toward us.
“Shoot ‘em!” They all began shooting at us, so we separated. I went to the left toward four guys, who were still searching for someone to shoot at.
“Hey, boys,” I drawled. They all turned to me right as I launched myself at the closest guy. I landed a kick to his chest and then punched him in the throat. He was off balance, so I kicked him into his partner next to him. The other two guys began to shoot at me, so I had to pull the dazed guard I had just kicked off the ground and in front of me. I threw a dagger into the hand of one of me attackers, making him drop the gun and cry out in pain. I threw my still-dazed human shield at the other guy. I forced their heads down on the ground, knocking the three of them out.
The second guy I took out stood back up and tried to throw a punch at me, but I dodged it. I caught his fist and pulled him forward, slamming my head into his own. He stumbled back. I finished him with a kick to his head.
A large explosion made me look over to see Kory standing in front of the now-flaming machine. I smirked to myself. I ran up the catwalk where some guards stood. I came up from behind two of them and pushed them over the edge. The third guy turned his gun on me, but I was able to grab the barrel and throw it to the side. I kicked him in the stomach. Using the gun, I swung him into the bar of the walkway, then shoved him over.
I took off in a run down the catwalk when people from the ground started shooting up at me. I got toward the end metal walkway and saw a group of men waiting for me at the bottom.
“Huntress!” Dick called from below. He threw one of his escrima sticks up. I picked up my pace and jumped off. I flipped and caught the stick midair. I landed in the middle of the guards and spun in a circle, escrima stick out, hitting all the men. The fell to the ground, electrocuted. “Nice,” Dick walked up to me.
“Yes it was,” I said and handed him his weapon back, continuing to walk past him. He sighed in defeat. Joined by Kory and Gar, Dick, and I ran into the main room, but Crane and Jason were nowhere to be found.
“All clear,” Dick sighed. “Check the exits, they’re on the move.” I moved forward toward the chair in the corner of the room, Gar behind me. I noticed the duck tape on the chair arms and I furrowed my eyebrows. Gar looked at me with a questioning look and I shrugged, pointing to the tape.
“Don’t worry, we’ll find Jason,” Kory said.
Gar and I shared one more look before hurrying out.
—————————
I was sitting in my room at the Manor when a knock came from my door and Dick peeked his head in.
“Can we talk?” he asked. I set my glare on him. “Please?”
“Why should I?” I crossed my arms.
“I just want to explain myself.”
“If I don’t like it, I’m stopping you,” I sighed. He came in and sat on the bed next to me.
“I’m sorry, Elana. I realize that I shouldn’t have asked Barbara to do that. I get why you don’t want to talk to me. What I did was a huge violation of your privacy. I’d really prefer if you didn’t talk to Jason just because I don’t trust the influence Crane has over him, but I know better than to try to stop you.” He sighed. “I’m sorry, I was just worried about you.”
“Worried about me?” I asked.
“The way you were disappearing reminded me of the League of Assassins. I thought maybe you were somehow being manipulated by them again,” Dick explained.
“Well, it’s good to hear you care,” I smiled tightly.
“Can you forgive me?” Dick asked.
“I guess I’ve forgiven worse,” I sighed. “But, you gotta do two things for me. You owe me an entire case of Capri Suns.” Dick chuckled. “And you never again even consider betraying my trust.” Dick nodded.
“I can do that,” he said. “Now that that’s cleaned up, I’m supposed to tell you that everyone’s downstairs celebrating our small victory if you wanna come,” he offered.
“Sure,” I shrugged.
“Thank you,” he smiled.
“Always,” I returned it. We got up and I followed him downstairs.
“Hey, Elana,” Barbara greeted.
“Hey,” I gave a small smile.
“Look, about earlier-“
“It’s fine,” I cut her off. “Just don’t ever do it again.”
“I promise,” she nodded.
“Now that that’s over with,” Kory laughed.
The rest of the night, were all laughing and drinking. Well, I was drinking my eighth Lemonade Capri Sun because I was a responsible child who didn’t drink underage.
“One more?” Dick asked Babs.
“I think one’s my limit,” she answered. “I think so.”
“Okay,” Dick nodded.
“30,000 nebulizers destroyed tonight,” Conner said.
“This whole operation and dozens of Gotham’s mobsters in jail,” Blackfire added.
“And a few in the hospital thanks to Krypto,” I laughed. “Not a bad night.”
“It’ll be better when we bring down Crane and Jason,” Dick spoke up. “They’re on the run now. They’re getting sloppy. That’s when we win.” We all looked at him with a raised eyebrow. “Good work,” he raised his drink to us.
“Cheers,” we all said.
“Congratulations. I’m gonna hit the road,” Babs said. “Back at it tomorrow.”
“I’ll see you out,” Dick said.
“Oh, I know the way. It’s okay. You kids have fun,” she smiled. Everyone said goodbye to her.
“Bye, Babs!” I called after her as she wheeled out. Dick waited a second, but then followed after her. I laughed and shook my head.
“This might sound insane, but I am dying for some ice cream,” Kory said.
“Did anyone think to grab some when we were at Snowy Cones?” Blackfire asked.
“Maybe doordash a couple of gallons of Rocky Road,” Kory suggested.
“I can beat doordash,” Conner said. He sped out.
“Thanks, Conner,” Kory said.
“Hey, Gar, could you come help me with the, uh, thing?” I asked. He looked at me in confusion, but then realized.
“Oh, the thing. Yes,” he nodded. “See you guys.” I grabbed his arm and led him out of the room.
“I got Molly’s home address,” I said once we were out of earshot from everyone else. “Figured we should go now because it’s past midnight and she might be gone in the morning.”
“You want us to go knock on her door at three in the morning?” Gar asked.
“Yep,” I popped the “p”. I led him to the car and we hit the road.
—————————
We walked into the East End apartment complex and down to the end of the hall. I looked at Gar and gestured to the door to Molly’s apartment. He gave me a look, but knocked on the door. He looked back at me when she didn’t answer and I shrugged. He knocked again. The door opened slightly and a gun pointed out at us.
“It’s 3am. Who the heck are you?” Molly, I assumed, demanded.
“Hi, um, Molly? I’m Gar Logan,” Gar started. “You might know me from the Titans.”
“You wrote this letter to Jason Todd saying you wanted to help him,” I took over. “So do we. My name’s Elana Queen. Jason was my-“ I stopped myself. “He was my friend.” The gun was pulled back inside and the door was opened.
“I know who you are,” she said. “Come in.” Gar and I looked at each other with a knowing glance and walked in.

thanks and lovelovelove your work

Minifigures and Sets ↦ Jonathan Crane × GN!Reader [headcanons]
i've always wanted to go on a lego date, but your friendly neighborhood writer hasn't been in a relationship in almost 3 years and it's been a while since i've went on a date...lollll but i'm glad you love my work so much :')
Warnings: it's been years since I went to the Lego Store in New York, so i don't know how much has changed since the last time ive been there
Tumblr media
He would take you there as a surprise after he got off work since he knew you had a love for everything Lego
Plus, since you lived in New York, the Lego Store was the best spot.
He watched you like a kid in the candy store as you messed with separate pieces of Legos and created different things
He always admired your imagination.
What he didn't expect you was to show him a minifigure that looked like him before putting it in the pocket of his blazer
He chuckled and planted a kiss on your forehead.
Then there was another one you did, but kept it hidden from him which made his curiosity peak.
You didn't say anything as you walked through picking out different Lego sets from different fandoms you liked.
Your boyfriend though was watching you like a hawk
He was waiting for you to show him what you had hidden from him.
It wasn't until you got home was when you showed him.
He laughed and hugged you.
"I love you, you know that?"
Of course you did.
He quickly ran to his lab and placed the minifigures of him as himself and him as Scarecrow on his desk with a smile
You would sit on the dining table and build your new sets
He would help you build them, no questions asked.
If you'd tell him no, he'd open the bags for you and separate the pieces for you
If you said yes, he'd tear the instruction booklet in half and you'd work on that
If the sets contained more than one booklet, he'd make sure it was even, but if the number was odd, the last booklet would be ripped in half
After they were done, he'd help you put them on your stand that had different sets.
You told him you might need a bigger space and he agreed
The night would end with you suggesting other Lego sets to get if he was willing to take you back.
And guess what?
It became a new thing to go to the Lego Store after work and/or on each other's days off.
