The Talk
Alessia Russo x Williamson!Reader
Word Count: 1.3k
A/N: A short one for our Arsenal girls' win
[WOSO Masterlist]
Leah’s not stupid.
Leah may be rash, hard headed, and a little reckless sometimes, but she’s not stupid.
It’s obvious how something has changed with you. You, her sweet baby sister, went from watching trashy TV on the couch with her most nights to not even bothering to stay home after practice anymore, always sneaking back into the house at early hours of the new day when you think she’s still asleep.
Leah likes to think she’s a good sister. Someone you’ll always turn to if you need help or if you have anything you want to share with her.
But obviously what she likes to think can’t be further from the truth because two months pass and you’re still sneaking around, taking muted phone calls around the corner, never spending more than a few minutes alone with your sister anymore.
Leah likes to take pride in her observation skills. But honestly she can point to your inability to be subtle that helps her figure the whole thing out. It begins as pink cheeks whenever a certain new striker comes near you. The eyes that linger too long when you are all in the gym together for a quick weight training session only adds on to her suspicions.
Leah has also noticed the way long limbs often trail after you, stumbling into the nearest bin whenever you laugh at a not-so-funny joke made by the girl in question. Alessia’s often found sat near your side whenever the girls have a movie night, or whenever the lot of you go out for a meal together.
Leah considers her suspicions confirmed when you disappear after a night out at the club with the rest of your teammates and Alessia is also conveniently missing as well.
So, the next day after practice, Leah decides enough is enough. No more sneaking around, no more lying. She was going to take matters into her own hands and put an end to everything. It’s about time she lays the hammer down, even if it comes at the risk of you hating her.
The opportunity arrives when Alessia is called away to the physios. Leah lingers in the hallway after practice ends, pretending to busy herself as she awaits the striker’s return. When Alessia finally finishes her session, she’s walking down the hallway, head down, entranced in her phone when a hand shoots out, gripping tightly against her forearm and yanking her into a nearby storage closet.
The shriek she lets out quickly dies when she meets the familiar eyes of her national team captain.
“Leah!” Alessia gasps, trying to pull in a breath of air at the surprise.
Leah’s eyes narrow at the younger girl, hand only tightening its grip against her arm. “I hope you know what you’re doing, Russo. Because I definitely do, and I have to say, I’m not amused so far.”
“I…” Alessia trails off, trying not to look too rattled. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Watch your next words carefully, Russo. I don’t take well to liars,” Leah warns, voice dangerously low.
Alessia’s mouth clamp shuts.
You warned her about this. On your first date out, you warned Alessia about how protective Leah could get.
“I think we should wait to tell Leah. There’s no telling what she’ll do.”
So she agreed, not thinking much about it.
Until she got the offer to play for Arsenal. And then her access to you was unfiltered and oh-so easy.
Where the two of you used to be so cautious about not letting anything slip, faced with the ability to see each other whenever you wanted was just too good of an offer to pass up. So gone were the nights you’d entertain Leah’s want for sisterly cuddles. Gone were the days you went out for after practice smoothies, relishing in some quality time with your sister. Now you go out on dates with your girlfriend because you can. You can take her to all the places around London, take all the time you want mindlessly strolling about just because you can.
Though now that Alessia is thinking about it, maybe the two of you should have tried a little harder to hide your relationship. Because faced with a slightly fuming Leah Williamson glaring down at her, Alessia has the sinking suspicion she’s not getting out of here alive.
“You’ve been keeping (Y/N) out until the late night hours every night. I oughta have you benched for the next couple games just for that.”
Alessia’s eyes widen even more in fear. Did Leah actually have the power to have her benched? Alessia has no idea. But she’s not willing to flirt with the idea.
“I love her, Leah. I really do. She… she makes me feel things that I didn’t think I ever would.”
And once she starts, Alessia can’t stop.
“I would never hurt her, I hope you know that. I feel so lucky every day that I get to call (Y/N) mine. I thank my lucky stars that she chose me because I think she can do so much better. I wake up every day so in awe of her and I love her so much that sometimes I feel like I can’t even breathe. I love her every single second of every single day, and I’ll continue to love her until we either break up or I die because let’s be real I’ll probably keep loving her even if we ever do break up. Not that I want to break up with her though! I would never break up with her,” Alessia rambles on, not seeing Leah blink as she slowly becomes overwhelmed with the amount that the younger girl is saying.
Leah didn’t really come into this thinking too much. Her goal was to scare the star striker a bit, but the younger girl’s word vomit of appreciation for you, though lovely, is a bit unexpected.
Alessia also seems a bit taken aback herself, face steadily reddening as embarrassment floods her system.
Alessia doesn’t have much time to think it over though. Suddenly the door beneath her back disappears, light flooding into the room as the two of them go toppling out of the closest.
Leah swears when she crashes to the ground, Alessia’s bony frame not doing much to cushion her fall.
When Leah looks up, she finds you staring at the two of them, mouth slightly agape in confusion.
Alessia pales when she realizes it’s you who opened the door. She scrambles to push Leah off of her, the older girl glaring at her as she lands on the cold hard ground. “It’s not what it looks like.”
Leah, on the other hand, simply rolls her eyes before getting onto her feet. You’re watching with wide eyes as she comes to a brief stop in front of you, pausing long enough to brush the lightest of kisses against your cheek.
“She passed the sister test. I approve.”
She pinches your cheeks between her fingers as an afterthought, and your look of confusion quickly turns into a scowl as you swat at Leah’s hands. “Leah Cathrine, get your grimy hands off of me.”
“Bring Lessi around for dinner some time, yeah?” With one last loving pat, Leah gets on her way, leaving the two of you to stare after her as she slowly turns the corner.
Alessia nervously rubs at the back of her head when you turn your gaze onto her.
“What did you tell her, Less?”
“I…” It’s times like these that Alessia can really see the resemblance between you and Leah. Narrow eyes full of suspicion but still filled with love. Alessia hedges her bets that you love her more than you’ll dig for answers.
“I love you?” The words are paired with an unconvincing smile, Alessia not eager to repeat her word vomit.

Don’t Lie To Me (newt)
Summary: i can’t rly fill this out without it spoiling the story
Warnings: angst, language, gun, tdc spoilers. tdc plot
Word Count: 1.2k
Tumblr media
You, Newt, Thomas, Gally, Fry, Jorge, and Brenda were in a beaten down building. Home of Gally, Lawrence and the rest of the right arm trying to figure out another way into WCKD.
“Same dick who betrayed us?” Brenda blurted.
“I like her.” Gally finished. Newt huffed before standing up straight and speaking.
“What’re you afraid your little girlfriends gonna get hurt? Hmm?” There was a pregnant pause and awkward silence before he spoke up again. “This has obviously never been about rescuing Minho. Has it?”
“What are you talking about?” Thomas questioned, obviously confused at the sudden outburst.
“Teresa!” His volume increased. “She's the only reason Minhos even went missing in the first place. Now we finally have an opportunity to get him back and what? You don’t want to because of… her?” You had never seen Newt like this. So demanding and aggressive. It was sort of intimidating. “Because deep down inside you still care about her. Just admit it.” He pressured backing Thomas all the way against the nearest wall.
“No I-…”
“Don’t lie to me!” Newt yelled, earning a gasp from both you and Brenda. “Don’t. Lie. To. Me!” He repeated.
You could see it on his face, the guilt and regret. You could tell something was wrong. But as he ran out all you could do was watch as Thomas followed.
After a couple of minutes when you gathered enough courage to go talk to him you walked into the cool air revealing a hunched over Newt sitting on the edge of the roof.
“Newt, are you okay?” You asked walking over and sitting down. “I’ve never seen you so upset.”
“Y/n i’ve been hiding something.” He gestures at his arm. “Don’t think I can hide this anymore.” He says pulling up his sleeve to reveal black and blue veins stretched from his wrist to his elbow. You gasped and covered your mouth. You were shocked to say the least. How could your boyfriend hide something so crucial? “I was going to tell you. Not like this. I’m sorry.”
“Newt. I-I it’s okay i’m just not sure what to say. It’s a lot to take in.” You sighed, staring at his forearm.
“Y/n i’m sorry I yelled back there. I didn’t mean to scare you. I love you.” A simple tear trickled down your face as you predicted your boyfriend’s inevitable future.
“I love you too. I will make sure we get through this. You deserve to live Newt.”
“Thank you Y/n.”
~
Newt was panting trying to catch his breath as you had stopped to rest.
“We’ve got to get the serum. Minho you’re the fastest go!” Thomas ordered.
“I’ll go with him for protection.” Gally said, chasing after Minho.
“Newt stay with me baby. I need you. You’re okay I promise. Stay with me. I love you.” You pleaded keeping Newt's head upright so he could look at you.
His head dropped without your support, eyes bloodshot black liquid running down his chin.
“We have to go Y/n!”
“Y/n.” Newt groaned. “I need you to take this.” He said, grabbing on the bullet around his neck.
“Newt not right no-…”
“Just take it!” He yelled. “Just take it.” He said quietly, almost ashamed of his actions. “In case I don’t make it.” He assured.
“Newt I promise you’re going to make it. I just need you to help as much as possible.” He nodded as he placed the necklace in your hand.
Shoving the necklace into your pocket you and Thomas decided it was time to keep moving so you gathered Newt under his arms and carried him as far as we could until he became dead weight.
“Newt, come on.” You sobbed. “Please.” You collapsed with him.
“Y/n.” Thomas kneeled with you a comforting touch on your back. “All we can do now is wait okay? I promise he will be okay.”
“Yeah like you promised Chuck?” You snapped. “Or Winston? How about Alby?”
“Y/n you know you can’t blame me for this. I didn’t do this. It was WCKD.”
“Thomas.” Speak of the devil. Somehow Teresa was speaking on the overhead speakers telling us some bullshit story again. “You are the cure. Your blood kills the virus. Come back to me.”
“Don’t you dare Thomas.”
“We have to save Newt!” He yelled as he ran back to the lab. Just as he was running off you were greeted by a not so happy guest, Newt.
“Newt?” You questioned inching closer. “Newt is that you?” Before you could get any closer Newt turned around and lunged at you. “Newt what the hell! Newt get off me!” You sobbed.
Newt shrieked eyes, fully blackened hair sticking up in different places trying to kill you.
“Newt please.” You kept pushing. “Please stop.” And suddenly as if the real Newt could hear you his eyes cleared and he stopped holding you down. You took this chance to flip the two of you over and pin him down in case of another episode.
“Y/n? Are you okay? Did I hurt you?”
“No Newt you just held me down. It's okay. I love you.”
“I love you to-…” He was cut off by a shriek.
Newt started thrashing under you almost as you were minutes before.
“Newt, please just calm down.” You pleaded. “Minho!” You yelled hoping he heard you.
“Kill me!” Newt yelled from under you.
“W-what?”
“Kill me!” He repeated flipping the two of you over once again. “Before I turn into one of them.”
“Newt I-…” But before you could finish he pulled your gun out of the gun holster on your leg and cocked it aiming for his head. “No!” You yelled before knocking the gun out of his hand.
Newt was not happy. He charged at you and tackled you hard.
“Newt please.” You pleaded. Just as Minho and Gally arrived and punctured Newts back with the serum.
“Thank you.”
“Where is Thomas?” Gally asked as Minho tended to Newt.
“I-I don’t know. Teresa said come to the lab. I-I need help.” You said as you felt the back of your head luckily there wasn’t much blood, just a pounding headache and memory loss.
“Y/n I need you to stay with us for Newt.” Gally say you up. “Y/n?” He questioned but you were already unconscious.
Gally carried you all the way to the burg Minho doing the same with Newt.
~
You woke up to a blinding light. The sun. Your head was pounding and your body was sore.
You looked over to see Newt opposite of you “Newt!” You exclaimed running over to him ignoring the soreness. “You’re alive!”
“What the hell? Where are we?” He asked, hugging you back.
“The Safe Haven. I love you so much!” You hugged him tighter.
“Y/n I can’t breathe baby.”
“Sorry.” You pulled away. “I-I just thought you wouldn’t make it. I thought I wouldn’t make it.”
“I love you Y/n. I will never leave you.”
You crawled in his bed and snuggled into his side. “I love you too Newt.”

Angels in America
It's amazing how fast an evening at your favorite club can be ruined by someone keeling over and frothing at the mouth. The band never quite gets back into the swing of things afterwards.
"Angel," sighed one of the men, or nearest approximants, at the table next to mine, "why is it that I can never go anywhere with you without stumbling across a body?"
"Oh, come now," said his partner, a soft, fluffy confection in caramel and cream, rising hastily to make his way toward the source of the commotion. The first gentleman, dark, lanky, and excruciatingly chic, got up to follow him. "It's hardly every time."
I stayed where I was for now, casting my gaze around the room as I went over my memory of the past twenty or thirty minutes. Too many people passing close enough to slip something into the victim's drink, too many others to watch at the same time, too many more opportunities to poison him outside my field of view. I was a detective, not God.
"Stumbling upon, once. Literally. Do you know what it's like to have to clean up after that sort of thing? It takes a personal toll."
"Hush, Crowley," chided "Angel". "People can hear you, and you know how queer they get about these things. Ooh, yes, that's strychnine, all right," he added cheerfully, pulling a small vial from his vest pocket and tipping it into his handkerchief. "Nasty stuff."
I got up. As I approached, I caught the faint, unmistakable chemical sweetness of ether fumes and gave them a wide berth, choosing instead to inspect the victim's plate and glass before turning to scan the room from this perspective.
"Now, just what might you be doing?" drawled Crowley.
I looked him over, too, while I was at it. In Crowley's case, this involved a lot of looking and not much over; he was easily more than six feet tall, even while slouching rakishly. The snake tattoo on his right temple suggested certain things about him. The dark glasses that he hadn't removed since he'd entered just suggested questions, since I highly doubted he was blind. "I'm a detective," I said, leaving the obviously at the end of that sentence to implication. "What are you doing?"
This response seemed to delight him. "So are we," Crowley answered, and grinned. "But if you want to get specific about it, I'm keeping you distracted while my friend saves this man's life. Let's see your license, then."
As I took it out, keeping at least one eye on him and his partner, Angel called out to the rubbernecking crowd around us, "I need someone here to run and call the nearest hospital, and a couple of strong men to help get this poor fellow someplace dark and quiet to rest. Best use one of the tablecloths for a stretcher," he added to the first volunteer who stepped forward.
Crowley leaned in closer to study my license. "Drake Silas Donovan," he read off. "'Silas', really?"
"What about it?"
"I've just always wondered what kind of parent would name their kid Silas."
"The kind who had a grandfather named Silas," I replied coolly, snagging my license back. "Your turn."
He obliged. Anthony J. Crowley, it read, licensed in London since 1905, the year before mine. I wondered how long he'd been at this; he looked too young for his apparent age, but then I looked too old for mine. "A. J. Crowley," I read his signature aloud. "Get asked if you're any relation every time, or just most?"
There's a certain motion a person's head makes when they roll their eyes. Crowley's was making it. "The man's an embarrassment to the side," he griped. "I made my name legitimately."
"And your friend?" It wasn't as if I couldn't put two and two together. There's a certain type of person who's got both a nose for trouble and the brains to prepare for it; if it walks, talks, and thinks like a dick, it probably is one. It was just that I wasn't in the habit of trusting people, and I'd be a real schmuck to neglect basic due diligence on the guy purportedly surrounded by bodies.
Detectives are no better or worse than any other person. They just think it's usually more interesting to solve crimes than commit them.
"Oh, he's as legitimate as it gets." Crowley turned to his companion, who was getting to his feet, brushing his clothes off fussily. Beside him, the two volunteers hoisted the unconscious victim onto a tablecloth spread across the floor, momentarily dislodging the ether-soaked cloth before Angel caught it and laid it carefully back in place over the victim's nose and mouth. "Aren't you, Aziraphale?"
Angel — "Aziraphale"? — looked up, startled. "Pardon?"
"Mr. Donovan here wants to see your detective's license," Crowley explained, enunciating his words with malice aforethought.
"Oh! Yes. Of course I always have that with me. Now just where did I..." He started patting down his pockets, stopped suddenly, and took a lovely calfskin card holder out of his coat. "Ah. Here it is."
Beaming, he passed it to Crowley, who passed it to me with the comment, "You'll find everything in order, I'm sure."
I glanced down at the card, then back up at Angel. "Am I supposed to call you A. Z. Fell or Aziraphale?" I asked, pronouncing the Z correctly as zed.
"A. Z. Fell is how 'Aziraphale' is pronounced in the King's English," said Crowley blandly, affecting a cut-glass Oxford accent on the last phrase. His partner seemed pleased by this comment, rather than annoyed.
"I'm afraid my progenitor bestowed me with a rather unwieldy given name," Fell admitted, raising fascinating questions about just how many syllables the British peerage could fit on a birth certificate when they really tried. "Aziraphale just sounds so much more euphonious, don't you think?" Crowley was right; I couldn't tell whether Fell had meant to say A. Z. Fell or the de-accented gloss. He'd lengthened the half-syllable between zed and Fell to a full vowel, but some people said zetta.
"I wouldn't know," I replied, handing the license back to Crowley, who was nearest. When Fell didn't take my bait, I added, "Lucky that you happened to have ether handy. I wouldn't like to imagine what might've happened if you'd decided to stay in tonight." I also lied when I said sorry, and when I swore to tell the whole truth and nothing but. Little white lies are the oil in the gears of civilization.
"Oh, I always carry that, too," Fell explained earnestly. "One gets into the habit after one's first run-in with strychnine, and of course ether has so many useful applica—"
"I wouldn't, angel," Crowley interrupted, sounding very amused. "Mr. Donovan thinks you're the one behind this."
"Oh," said Fell, nonplussed. "Gosh. Well, I — I suppose I can't blame him. He doesn't know me from Adam, after all, and has no reason to trust me — I did warn you about giving people funny ideas, Crowley, honestly. Of course," Fell turned to me, laying an elegant hand across his chest, "if you were to search me, you would find only a small collection of antidotes — oh, but a habitual poisoner would probably carry those, too, especially if he were the sort of voyeur with a penchant for playing the hero. I certainly wouldn't be convinced of my innocence. Yes, I can certainly understand whatever suspicion you might feel towards me, however misplaced it may be."
Crowley watched this thought process with an expression somewhere between fascination and agony. "Well, at least now he probably thinks that if you'd done it, you'd have been caught by now," he remarked, presumably because he was thinking the same thing. "You'll have to excuse my friend," Crowley added to me. "He still believes that the innocent have nothing to fear. Somehow."
"First time visiting?" I guessed.
Fell's bemusement answered my question before he did. "Pardon?"
"Never mind."

NEVER GROW UP
#33 for Dean Winchester (and "best-friend/like siblings" who's had a bad time lately... IF it strikes you! I know that's more specific than you were looking for, so if not, OBVIOUSLY no worries, hon!!! I love anything you write!) THANKS! (even if you don't get to it!)
[Celebration]
OOH I LOVE THIS IDEA- THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR SENDING IT IN (I only realized after that I might have flipped the request around- sorry!!) <333

Never Grow Up
33. “And you’ve got a smile that could light up this whole town.”
Tumblr media
“Come on, get up.” You stood in front of the television, hands on your hips and a determined look set on your face, “We’re going out.”
Dean groaned, trying to crane his neck to see around you, “I’m tired, let’s just stay in tonight and watch movies.”
You sighed, shaking your head softly, you hadn’t wanted it to come to this.
Swiftly, you marched over to Dean and slapped him, not hard enough to leave a mark, but hard enough to send a message.
The man gawked up at you, “What the hell was that for?” He demanded, holding the cheek you had hit him on.
“You told me,” You spoke as you moved around the motel room, pulling clothes out of bags for Dean to wear, “When we were teenagers that if you ever passed up the opportunity to go out on a Friday night for drinks to slap some sense into you.” You looked over your shoulder and raised a single eyebrow at him, “Remember?”
Things had been hard lately. Cases seemed to just keep popping up, piling into on big, overwhelming heap. Every time you turned around, a new town was being terrorized or some poor family had bought a house over a literal portal to hell.
Not only did it exhaust you physically, but mentally, it had taken a toll as well.
You and the Winchesters had grown up your entire lives being used to the horrors that lurked in the world. But you were only human after all, there was only so much you could withstand without ever getting a break.
Dean, you had noticed, was taking it harder than normal. And as his lifelong best friend, you took it upon yourself and decided that it was your job to lighten his spirits and make him feel better. Even if that meant the night would end with him being drunk.
He crossed his arms childishly over his chest, grumbling something you no doubt should be glad you couldn’t hear.
“Enough complaining,” You chided him as if you were his mother, marching back over and dragging him up by the arm, “Up and at ‘em. Get changed.”
Reluctantly, he did as you said. But not without sighing dramatically every two minutes in order to let you know how upset he was about it.
When he had finally given into your death glare and put shoes on, you snatched the keys to the impala from his hands and drove the two of you to the nearest bar. Just in case he got into the drivers seat and tried to go anywhere but the destination you had in mind.
Thankfully, he got out of the car and walked into the bar without any form of retaliation, and you were able to relax slightly when he went to go get the two of you a table.
That left you to get the drinks, not that you minded. You ordered what the two of you normally got and made your way back to Dean, who was sitting, waiting for you.
“I come bearing beer.” You joked, placing his drink in front of him.
Your best friends lips only quirked up slightly for a second, you wouldn’t even consider it a smile.
With a small frown, you put the beer to your lips, downing a sip, only to immediately begin coughing and sputtering.
Your eyes were wide as you looked down at the beer. Whatever it was that you just drank was definitely not what you normally got.
Then, the sound of laughter dragged your confused eyes up and over to Dean, whose shoulders were shaking as he looked at your disgusted expression.
His face was split into a wide grin that seemed to light up the room. You hadn’t seen him smile like that in ages. It was like a breath of fresh air for you, one you so desperately needed. It was almost enough to make you forget that he was laughing at you. Almost.
“You find my suffering amusing, Winchester?” You challenged, a playful tint in your tone.
He chuckled in response, leaning back and taking a sip of his beer, only to come back, sputtering and coughing just like you had moments before.
Slowly, the two of you each looked down at your own bottles, then too each others when it dawned on you and you both burst into fits of laughter.
“No-no wonder this tastes like shit.” You wheezed our in between giggles, “It’s your beer, and you have terrible taste.”
“Right back at ya.” Dean snickered, trading beers with you so that you both had your respective drinks for real this time.
As you sobered up, you admired the way that Deans muscles finally seemed to relax after what felt like months of being tense. And how he smiled with ease, not having to force it in a way he had done on more than one occasion recently to try- with no avail- to convince you that he was fine.
At least for now, everything was going well.

I’m sorry but flatemate matty would be a G when it comes to rainy day cuddles 🫠 putting on a slower vinyl, keeping the volume low so you can hear the rain hitting the windows.. curling up on the couch, all tangled up together, talking barely above a whisper for hours because there’s no need to be louder when you’re that close.. i’m gonna huuuurl i need to baby the grown man.
STOP IT WAS RAINING SO HORRIBLY HERE EARLIER I NEED HIM but yeah. it's your first free/fresh sunday (no work for you to finish, no hangovers from being out the night before for either of you), and you and matty had made plans to go on a massive walk around the nearest park, then maybe do sunday dinner somewhere before coming home and having an early night ready for the week ahead. and you were so excited about it - like yeah, you live with the man and see him every day, but the itinerary for the day felt vaguely couple-y, and you were looking forward to being delusional and pretending matty was actually your boyfriend the whole time (obviously, he was feeling the same). but sunday morning rolls around and you're awoken to torrential rain battering off the window and you're FUMING. and i think matty would just burst into the room (because he knows you're alone) and throw himself dramatically face-down onto your bed like "i can't fucking believe our plans for a lovely day are RUINED this is awful", and you just reach over to play with his hair comfortingly like "i know, babe, i was looking forward to it. what can we do in here instead?" and matty FIGHTS the urge to be like "in your bed? oh, i've been thinking about this one for a while. i have a list prepared" lol. instead, he rolls over to look at you and shyly starts rambling ideas like "i mean, i got a couple of new records if you wanted to just chill on the couch and listen to them? i haven't got any weed, though, so we'd need to be sober. which is less vibey, but still. i get that you might not want to do that and its chill but i-" before you cut him off like "no, that sounds lovely. a cuppa, some music, snuggling up together... yeah, i want that" and smile so sweetly that matty's heart cracks (and he can't think about the "i want that" directly after you mentioning snuggling or he will go insane). and matty smiles back (which hurts YOUR heart) and says "alright, darlin'. now, breakfast - d'you want breakfast in bed, or in the kitchen?", and you're like "hmm... kitchen, i want to shower first" and you stretch cutely and sit up, kissing matty's head before padding off to the bathroom. and he's literally so down bad that he watches you leave with the most lovestruck expression, before scootching up onto your pillows and just taking in your scent and atmosphere for a min, then getting up himself.
anyway, later on, you get around to the revised weekend plans. tea is made, the first record is on and playing softly (i assume it's some sort of acoustic folk/indie thing), you're in matty's hoodie and leggings, he's in a pair of your sweatpants and a long-sleeved tee, and you settle on the couch under a couple of blankets. the rain has settled slightly, so it's just pattering off the windowframes now, and you've lit a scented candle for a bit of peaceful ambience - it's a very calm, very cosy environment. and you and matty are quiet for the first few songs, before you break the silence to whisper how much you like the album so far, and he looks at you contentedly and agrees; that starts a whole quiet discussion, which starts off being about music and then ends up somewhere totally different (as the best chats do!). matty reluctantly gets up to flip the record onto the b-side, but beams when he turns back round to see your arms opened and you telling him to get in; he obliges, because why wouldn't he take any opportunity to be so close to you, slotting himself between your legs (which are propped up on the couch), leaning his head on your chest and his arm over your stomach as is your normal cuddling position. and your whispered conversation continues until matty, just so content and cosy, falls asleep on you - i think you probably smile lovingly at him and whisper "oh, i love you", knowing he can't hear you, and play with his hair and lightly stroke his cheek until you doze off too <3

The clearing on the dwarf planet is much the same, the only difference being the air is a little cooler, the pale blue foliage lightened to an almost-white, the climate in this part of the world obviously shifting to a cooler season.
It’s just after midday, the sun beaming down into the trees, dappling the forest floor. You take a deep breath, let your lungs fill with the fresh, unfiltered air, a sense of contentment swirling gently under your ribs.
You’d missed this place.
Which is… weird. You don’t miss a lot of places, generally putting them behind you as soon as you take the next step.
But there’s something about this little planet, this forest.
Like there’s something about Savareen, despite your attempt to leave it behind. Like Nevarro.
Those are places where you discovered a part of yourself - no, more like allowed a part of yourself to show.
A part of you that lets other people in.
Lets yourself to be happy.
The kid babbles as he floats to a stop next to you in his pod, big ears perked in interest, those deep, amber eyes watching the breeze flicker through the pale leaves of the trees at the edge of the clearing.
He’s obviously itching to get out and play, roam through the grass and explore the forest floor. You get it, that same itch is tingling in your own fingertips, so rarely do you get to spend time on a planet with a climate this comfortable and a landscape this beautiful.
Reaching out, you gently stroke the curve of one ear in apology, smiling as those big eyes turn to look up at you. “Maybe later, ok, kiddo?”
The kid mumbles softly, a hint of disappointment dragging down the tips of his ears.
Din taps a command on his vambrace, helmet turning as he surveys the tree line with some kind of filter on his visor. “Couple of your friends are here.”
A branch in the nearest tree suddenly dips as if dragged down by a weight, but you can’t see anything at the end of it, the creature camouflaged against the leaves. “Well, hopefully they remember that we are friends.”
The helmet tilts. “Guess we’ll find out.”
The tree branch dips again before springing back into place, and a curl of uncertainty takes hold in the pit of your stomach. “If you’re trying to be reassuring, try harder.”
A pause. “I have faith that if those tree-dwellers decide to murder us, you’ll convince them otherwise.”
You throw him a narrow look as you start toward the trees. “And you call me ‘mir’sheb.’”
His soft huff of laughter makes you smile, remembering the way his eyes - those beautiful eyes - crinkle at the corners when he laughs.
Kriff.
You know that.
You know what his face looks like when he smiles.
You’d never thought… never dared to think you would ever hold that knowledge. Something so sacred.
Well. You never thought you’d get married, either.
Everything is different with you.
Dank farrik, is it ever.
Din walks beside you, strides steady and sure, his aura of quiet confidence emanating from his tall, broad frame. The sunlight plays over his beskar as he passes beneath the trees, flashes of bright and shadow, and a memory surfaces -
A mountain in the Bakuran countryside. A different planet, different trees.
Different you, in a lot of ways.
The same glance of light on armour, same sharp slice of black through silver hiding a gaze so focused you can always feel it, even when it’s hidden.
A gaze you were afraid of, then. But one you now cherish.
One you now love.
So much has changed since that moment. You were afraid - of him, of everything - and alone, so alone you couldn’t even see it, couldn’t know what it was like to not feel solitary, single. Detached.
Everything is different with you.
Now you’re walking beside him, a gentle pulsing thread of connection woven tight around your heart, tying you to him and the little green child beside him.
No longer alone.
Part of them. A family.
An aliit.
The tree-dwellers keep their distance, though the scurrying of tiny clawed feet in the branches above tells you they’re sticking close. You follow your instinct more than anything, picking a path through the trees that feels right more than it does familiar. Din seems to trust you to find the way, so you trust yourself.
Based on what you’d figured out back at Greef’s, the canyon you’d stumbled upon last time you were here is a potential location for Mandalorians trying to stay off the grid. But it doesn’t mean it’s the only one - they could be anywhere on this planet, or not here at all.
A twinge of uncertainty twists your stomach.
What if they are here?
You want to find Din’s people. That, you’re sure of - his loyalty to his people is an important part of who he is, and you know it pains him, not knowing where they are, if they’re safe.
It’s made worse by the guilt he holds over how he left them. He blames himself for their decision to come out of hiding to rescue him and the kid.
Unfounded blame, as far as you’re concerned. They made the choice, he shouldn’t have to carry the weight of the consequences.
But what if they feel differently?
You don’t understand the nuances of his culture - you’re learning, slowly, but still, you’re not Mandalorian.
Maybe… they do blame him.
And if they do, then how will they greet him once he finds them again?
The trees begin to thin out just ahead, and you stop, pointing toward the glimpse of white stone cliffs in the distance peeking through the branches. “That’s the canyon, there.”
Din keys a command on his vambrace, untethering the kid’s pod. “Stay here.”
He starts toward the edge of the forest, long legs eating up the distance, and you have to forcibly pull your focus from admiring the way his cowl flares out from those ridiculously broad shoulders, hem catching in the breeze, giving you glimpses of those strong thighs -
Not the time.
You sweep your gaze through the trees around you, watching his back while he carefully moves into the open area above the canyon, sticking close to trees to avoid the sunlight.
Cautious of giving away his position.
So he’s not sure what to expect if he finds his people, either.
The kid coos softly, a note of concern in his tiny voice, and you give him a reassuring smile. “It’s ok, kiddo. He’ll be safe.”
A sudden skittering above your head yanks your heart into your throat.
Branches tremble as the tree-dwellers who had been following you take off at a sprint, flashes of grey fur showing through the leaves.
Your blaster is in your hand before you can even think about it, instincts flaring out, searching for the source of whatever spooked them -
“Drop the blaster.”
The unfamiliar modulated voice behind you sends a cold rush of fear down your spine.
A flash of light -
Din, at the edge of the trees, standing out in the open.
With another Mandalorian, wearing blue armour.
And holding a blaster, pointed at Din.
Dank farrik.
They’re too far away for you to hear if they’re speaking, but the other Mandalorian gestures in your direction with his blaster, and Din shifts, as if he wants to take a step toward you.
“Drop the blaster.”
The voice behind you speaks again, firmer this time, words clipped with impatience.
A tiny whine drifts up from the pod beside you.
The kid.
Goosebumps ripple over your entire body. Your heart pounds against your ribs so hard it hurts.
Calm. Focus. Control.
Deep breath. Reduce the danger. Keep the kid safe.
Slowly, you flick on your blaster’s safety and let it fall to the ground.
Din does take a step toward you then, and the Mandalorian holding him at blasterpoint shouts something loud enough for you to hear but not quite make out.
It’s not friendly, you can tell that much.
Quiet steps move around from behind you, barely making a sound.
Must be a Mandalorian thing.
He steps into your line of sight, and your gaze flits over the end of his blaster, noting the second blaster at his hip, the two knives in his boots, the row of charges and flashbangs along his belt.
Armed to the teeth. Another Mandalorian thing, apparently.
For a moment your mind blanks, confusion twisting, seeing the familiar shapes of the Mandalorian armour but not familiar at the same time. His armour isn’t bare like Din’s, it’s painted a dark grey, some kind of geometric symbol outlined in gold on his pauldrons.
A clan sigil, like the mudhorn.
The Mandalorian levels his blaster at your head, his voice level and sure. “Don’t move.”
You fight the urge to raise an eyebrow at him. “Wasn’t planning on it.”
He stills, as if surprised by your response, but then a movement at the edge of the forest grabs your focus - Din coming toward you, the other Mandalorian close behind him, blaster back in his holster.
Relief floods your chest, quickly dissipating before it can take hold.
There’s still a blaster pointed at you.
The other Mandalorian calls out as they approach, something in Mando’a. The one holding you at blasterpoint responds, but doesn’t move.
Din’s familiar rasp cuts through the shrinking distance, Mando’a words sharp and biting and heavy with threat.
Every muscle in your body tenses, ready to fight or run or whatever it needs to do next.
Protect the kid. Keep him safe.
The moment draws out.
You wait.
Something shifts and the Mandalorian in grey armour moves.
Lowers the blaster to point at the ground.
You release your breath, one you didn’t realize you were holding.
Then Din is there, stepping between you and the other Mandalorians, every line of his frame drawn tight. He doesn’t turn away from them, speaking to you over his shoulder. “Are you alright?”
You pick up your blaster and pitch your voice low, even though the other Mandalorians are still close enough to hear. The tension in the air is so thick it’s feels like even a loud sound would make it snap. “Yes, we’re fine. What’s going on?”
His shoulders shift uncomfortably. “They’re from my covert.”
A little thrill of success runs through you, but something is still off. Why are they acting so defensively, if they know Din?
“They’re demanding that we leave this planet immediately.”
There’s an undertone of hurt in his voice that makes your fists clench at your sides.
After he’s been searching for them for so long, holding so much guilt about how he left them, he finally finds them and they want to send him away?
Anger bubbles up, replacing panic. “Even though you’re one of them?”
The Mandalorian in grey speaks up suddenly. “But you’re not.”
Realization drops in the pit of your stomach.
A million emotions hit you all at once.
You knew it.
You knew this would happen. That his people wouldn’t accept you.
This is what you feared most.
That they would make him choose between his people and you.
Anger shifts to rage, guilt claws at the inside of your chest, helplessness trembles down your back -
The edges of your vision dim, too much -
Calm. Focus. Control.
Ok.
They don’t trust you.
That’s fine, you can understand why. They’re protecting their people, a people broken and scattered across the galaxy.
But Din is one of them. It’s not fair that they’re willing to turn their backs on him just because of you.
You’re not going to let them, if you can help it.
You look at the Mandalorian in grey, forcing your voice to stay steady despite the torrent of emotion still boiling in your veins. “If I returned to the ship, would you at least speak with him?”
Din shifts and you sense what he’s about to say - he’ll reject the idea, you know it - so you reach out, grasp his arm just below his pauldron, the one with his sigil emblazoned on it. A silent plea to let you do this for him.
He stays silent, but you can feel the tension running through him under your hand.
The Mandalorian in blue replies. “This is acceptable.”
You barely have time to process what he said before the one in grey cuts in.
“And the child.”
The chaos of emotion shifts, anger slips out. “Really? He’s a kid, not a threat.”
“Every outsider is a threat.”
Point that blaster at me again and I’ll show you who’s the real threat.
You have to physically bite your tongue from saying that out loud, giving yourself a moment to calm your anger before speaking. “Fine. We’ll both go back to the ship.”
“Not alone. I go with you.”
Dank farrik, you really don’t like this guy. “Fine.”
Din looks back at you. “Tionas -“
“It’s ok.” You squeeze his arm reassuringly. “We’ll be waiting for you whenever you’re done.”
He pauses, and you can feel him warring with himself, the pull of speaking with his people and learning how they fare, reconnecting with those who know that part of him, against wanting to trust you, respect your decision, but worrying for your safety.
You smile at him, a small curve of your lips. “This is what we’ve been searching for, all this time. Go. Me and the kid will be fine. We can handle being stuck with Cranky Pants for a while.”
A sigh vibrates through his modulator, and he turns to face you fully, cupping your face in his hands to hold you steady as he tilts his helmet to rest his forehead against yours. “Be safe. Stay out of trouble.”
Your smile grows, hearing the gentle warning tease. Yeah, it’ll be tough, holding your tongue around the other Mandalorian. “It’s what I do best.”
His huff of laughter isn’t as light as it usually is, but you’ll take it anyway.
He pulls away, looking down at the kid. “You, too.”
The kid babbles back at him, a picture of pure innocence.
Din playfully tweaks the tip of his ear, then turns to face the Mandalorian in grey, that aura of quiet confidence seeping into the air around him. There’s a moment, a pause heavy with meaning, then he speaks, voice low but clear.
“She is my wife, and he is like a son to me. If you hurt them in any way, I will kill you.”
Crikking hells.
Something hot and fiery surges through your body, amplified by the anger still simmering under the surface.
His voice so factual, stating the unshakeable truth.
Staking his claim over you and the kid with a threat to harm should harm come to you.
Pfassk, you would fight the entire galaxy for this man.
The Mandalorian in grey nods once, a stiff motion that tells you he didn’t really want to.
Wrangling your emotions back into line, you grab the rim of the kid’s pod. “Let’s go wait at the ship, buddy.”
A final silent exchange with Din, then you’re turning back the way you came, striding quickly through the trees, guiding the kid’s pod along behind you.
A second set of steps follows you, but you refuse to acknowledge the Mandalorian. If he wants to keep an eye on you, fine, but you’re too furious with how they treated Din to play nice right now.
Thankfully, the Mandalorian doesn’t seem interested in acknowledging you either.
The walk is good for you, tension bleeding out of your muscles with the push and pull of the movement. Still, you’re almost back to the ship by the time you can breathe normally again.
Anger still boils hot through your veins but it’s quiet for now, calmed by the beauty of the forest around you, focused on keeping the kid safe.
You’ll be fine. Just get to the Razor Crest, lock yourself inside and ignore the dark grey wall of infuriating armour.
A familiar skittering above your head makes you glance up, and the kid coos happily as one of the tree-dwellers pops into view, big blue eyes bright against the pale leaves.
There’s a rustle of motion beside you, a flash of metal in a small beam of sunlight coming through the trees -
A blaster -
You shove the kid behind you, whirling to face the Mandalorian.
He’s holding his blaster, but not pointed at you or the kid, up at the -
“Stop!” Your hand flies out but he’s too far away, you can’t -
The tree-dweller scurries away to safety, the blaster lowers.
Points at you.
But you don’t care, anger hot and suffocating in your chest. “What is wrong with you? It’s just an animal, it didn’t do anything.”
The Mandalorian stiffens. “They’re pests. They ruined our supplies when we landed here.”
You scoff. “Then you should have protected them better.”
He takes a step toward you, blaster lowering but still directed at you. “It was all the food we could bring with us. The covert nearly starved.”
“Then you really should have protected them better.”
“You know nothing.” His voice drops to a hiss, cracking through the modulator. “Nothing of what we went through. The lives we lost. Our home, gone. All thanks to your riduur.”
You don’t know what the last word means but you can guess.
Your rage cracks open.
There’s a blur of grey in front of your eyes - you’ve stepped right up to him, in his space, your hand gripping the wrist that’s holding his blaster and pointing it away while your words fly sharp through the air.
“He lost everything, too. His home. His people. Because he did the right thing, rescuing the kid.”
“He took the bounty in the first place. He chose to work for Imperials -“
“For his people. For you.” Throwing his arm away in disgust, you find the gaze behind the black visor. “He went against everything he is to get back beskar that the Empire stole from your people. And he did it again, broke his oath to the Guild to save the kid’s life. So don’t you dare try to say he hasn’t suffered as much as you.”
The kid cries out in distress, a sound that stops your heart, rips your focus away from the Mandalorian.
What -
He’s standing in his pod, looking into the distance, ears drooping.
Your gaze follows his, searching -
There, through the trees -
The sun glancing off durasteel, the Razor Crest -
But why -
A flash of white. Another.
Movement all throughout the clearing, dozens of people.
Your stomach drops. Anger dissolves in a cold rush of fear.
Not just any people.
Stormtroopers.

Note
After a sleepless night (we came back around 2 am and had to leave around 6, and we both also needed to shower and pack our bags), barely alive we arrived to Malpensa airport and boarded our plane to Zadar, Croatia!
(Aka our stop for the next 3.5 days x)
When we landed, it was just as hot as it was in Italy, though a bit more bearable (maybe because of the close proximity to the sea?) Anyway, since our hostel was not yet ready to welcome us, we found a cafe nearby and ate a delicious pizza!
(...and then we (I) slept until 7 in the evening, cause I had zero willpower to leave the bed despite my love for water, so you took the opportunity to rest as well 😌)
We did go for a swim that day; we watched the sunset while floating in the sea and stayed there until dark cause I lovelovelove swimming under the moon and stars and I couldn't let the opportunity slip away 😭✨
Tumblr media
The next day, before going to the sea we wandered around the city a bit (I had no more clean clothes, so we ran to the nearest self-service laundromat in the area)
Tumblr media
The day was hot and sunny (until evening, that is, when it transformed into gloomy and windy). That did not deter us, though we did leave earlier than we anticipated.
Tuesday came, and we had no plans whatsoever except, well, the sea, so that's where we went to as soon as we woke up.
Tumblr media
The water was rather cold, but we didn't let that affect our day 😌 Yours truly forgot to use her spf, the fact she did not discover until later in the evening when it was obviously too late 🙈
(now you can spot my red face and everything else from miles away)
We saw another gorgeous sunset:
Tumblr media
This morning we got up too late to even literally dip our toes in the water, but we found some time for a short walk to the pier x
And right now, at 1.12 pm, we are watching the happy people who have just flown in to Zadar leave the plane while getting ready to say hi to Poznan 🤗
Tumblr media
(yep, this is us)
Rest up sweet Aria ♥️
ooooh these make me so happy hehe. It's nice to escape for a little while, huh?
im glad you are getting your rest in, even between all the gorgeous sights!! not the sunburn though 😭😭😭 that's the worsttt
big love big hugs for you sweet Kitty 😊

cruel summer [diluc]
[sorry for the repost! the html keeps messing up] i've been listening to this song nonstop so here is some more angst - officially entering angsty moon mode
contents: pain (obviously), diluc and reader being down bad for each other, no pronouns mentioned, a little ooc diluc
summary: you and diluc's relationship was never meant to be perceived by others, and sneaking around seems to come with its own set of thrills and heartbreaks.
word count: 2.7k
Tumblr media
fever dream high in the quiet of the night you know that i caught it
diluc doesn’t like to be seen. and frankly, neither do you.
but somehow you find yourself tiptoeing out of the house in the dead of the night again. this is the third time this week. as much as the guilt is weighing you down, your legs find their way through the cobblestone streets of mondstadt, until you finally arrive at the small tavern on the other side of the city.
the clock has long struck two, and seldom anyone lingers around save for some passed out drunks. somewhere down the street, you hear singing, their words so slurred that you can’t make out what the tune is.
a “closed” sign hangs from the beat-up door.
the warm glow of the light goes out from within the tavern, and you take the opportunity to survey your surroundings.
then you knock once, twice, three times, your knuckle barely coming into contact with the wood but in the silence, it’s loud enough for whoever it is intended to.
no response. and that’s all you need to confirm. you push the door open just the tiniest bit and slip inside like a nimble cat, but not before throwing one last look over your shoulder onto the empty streets.
killing me slow, out the window always waiting for you to be waiting below
he’s been waiting for you.
perched on the railing of the upper floor, he swirls a glass as he watches you slide into the tavern, quietly shutting and locking the door behind you. all the lights have been blown out, the only thing illuminating you now the pale moonlight seeping through the windows.
he doesn’t move, but waits for you patiently as you slowly ascend the stairs.
by the time you reach the landing, the glass he had poured for you has already been set on the nearest table, and it’s all tongue and teeth clashing and roaming hands for the next few minutes, your lips parting only to breathe when it feels like you’re too close to passing out.
he spins you around and locks you in a firm grasp, and soon enough your hands are pinned next to your head. you groan in protest, wanting so badly to touch him, to feel the muscles under his shirt, to show him how much you want him right here and now.
I can’t keep doing this.
you finally say when your lips are fully swollen and your lungs fighting for air.
he loosens his grip on your wrists, but keeps them in their position for just a little longer as he trails burning kisses down your neck. you tilt your head to the side, allowing him easier access.
must we do this again?
you shudder as he reaches a particularly sensitive spot and gently bites down on it. you wriggle out of his grip, hands immediately finding their place on his back and nails digging into his skin.
it's new, the shape of your body it's blue, this feeling i've got
you indulge yourself for just one moment more, and it takes all your strength to finally push him away.
he parts from you with a visible frown on his face.
no matter how many times he’s touched you, felt you, pleasured you, the feeling is brand new each time. as if you are discovering a new part of him, and him you. your skin is like uncharted territory and he simply cannot get enough.
but when you are apart, the skies feel three shades darker and birdsong too quiet, almost nonexistent as the world fades.
and you hate yourself for it. had you known it would be this hard to leave him, you never should have agreed to this arrangement in the first place. but with his smoldering gaze, his fiery hair and the way he quite literally burns for you, you simply couldn’t say no.
look where that’s gotten you now.
your father has long had his eyes set on the heir of an wealthy family, and a marriage between you the best opportunity for your respective families to gain even more influence. you loved your father dearly, yes, and your birth and status simply did not allow you the choice in love.
you knew that had the choice been yours, you would’ve picked diluc a thousand times over.
stomach in knots and heart shattered, you force yourself to take a step back, still near him but just barely out of his reach.
we won’t work, diluc.
can’t we at least try? don’t you want to try?
the flames in his eyes die down to a quiet ember and hurt emanate from his voice.
you want to scream at him, tell him that you would’ve given anything to have this chance, and for archons’ sake you wanted to try.
but it simply isn’t a decision for you to make, not when your families are due to announce the engagement in a few days and you can no longer risk being seen with diluc. not now, not ever.
he runs a hand through his hair, thick strands falling out of his ponytail from all your tugging just moments prior. with a heavy sigh, he reciprocates your backwards step and enlarges the distance between you further.
even though he remains silent, the action spoke more volumes than any words ever could.
he loves you, and that’s why he is letting you go.
i'm drunk in the back of the car and i crawled like a baby coming home from the bar
you don’t dare look at his eyes as you pull him in by the collars, kissing him with such fervour as if you’ll never see him again—no, because you will never see him or touch him again. the metaphor dies and you die a little on the inside too, a piece of your soul taken away by the utter cruelty of this world.
he kisses you back with equal passion, if not more. he wants to memorize every curve and dip of your body, every movement your lips make against his, every sweet sound you utter, and the feeling of you in his arms.
you know that if you don’t pull away, you never will.
goodbye, diluc.
without a second look, you stumble down the stairs and make your way out the door. the glass of wine sits untouched on the counter and the man next to it disheveled, the both of you appearing downright wasted despite having not touched a single drop. he can still feel you on his lips, and he doesn’t know if he’ll ever be able to kiss someone again without remembering you.
a few of the drunkards still lingering outside holler with laughter at their friend’s terrible attempt at a joke, and for a moment you feel like you are one of them, alcoholic beverage consumed or otherwise. your knees feel weak and with every step you take, you fear that they will give out altogether and you’d end up on the ground. because with that very step, you are a little further from diluc, a little further from the person you call home.
you are not ready to go back to your real home yet, though, knowing what is due to happen once the sun rises. if anyone were to catch you outside like this, it would be easier to explain why you are outside your own residence rather than on the other side of the town, outside a tavern owned by a man not deemed influential enough by your family.
if wealth and influence are all they need, why isn’t diluc enough?
you never cared about his money, anyway. but if your father only wants a business deal out of this marriage, why couldn’t he have promised you to diluc instead?
your pain turns into anger and resentment, at your father, at your family, at being born into this cursed business. you would be so much happier being with him. it would give you great joy, actually, to see the shocked faces of your father’s rivals at the sight of you and your supposed “arranged husband” being perfectly in love.
you half expect tears to fall, but none ever arrives. you stretch your legs out in front of you, the muscle cramping at your stiffness, and suddenly you feel you are not so different from an infant, after all. unable to make your own decisions, having everyone around you dictating what you want and need, all without a way to communicate your innermost desires to them. and frankly, your protests probably sound like nothing more than babbles to the straight-faced men who frequent your father’s office, anyway.
a cold breeze makes you shudder, and a crimson leaf sways in the air, performing one last dance before falling quietly by your feet. the autumn air is crisp and slightly chilly. wrapping your arms around your own body for some warmth, you think back to the summer months.
and how simple life was back then.
said i'm fine but it wasn't true i don't wanna keep a secret just to keep you
the secret is eating you alive.
even if it weren’t for the engagement, you were starting to question the whole situation, anyway. it’s not that you didn’t want diluc – he is the only thing you wanted, really, but at what cost? had any of the drunkards been sober enough to notice you sneaking in and out of the tavern every night, your future would have been ruined long ago.
compared to the momentary thrill of being in diluc’s arms, the thrill of finally being a rebellious teenager like you were supposed to have been, you knew your future is much more important.
but that was before you fell in love with him.
you see, what started as a hot moment of passionate summer fling was turning into much more than just opened mouthed kisses and sweet whispers. every moment you spent together was in each other’s embrace, and every moment you spent apart was in anticipation of your next encounter. neither of you acknowledged it, but the bliss of your presence had become oxygen for him, and him you.
but that’s all it is, really. a summer fling, a one night stand, a person you can have but never able to keep.
if that’s the case, why spend every night in excitement while fearing the worst?
if you could have him all to yourself for the rest of your life, you would do it in a heartbeat. yet you weren’t sure if you could put up with the anxiety of being caught, at being disowned by your family, or even worse, at ruining the company your parents built from the ground up.
the stakes were too high, and you couldn’t keep a secret this big just for stolen kisses and lingering touches, no matter how much you wanted to.
and i snuck in through the garden gates every night that summer just to seal my fate
but the nights were exhilarating.
it started with hours upon hours of talking, about your pasts, days at school, his annoyance at his brother’s pranks and your annoyance at all the supposed company heirs you were forced to meet. you could talk about everything with him, and despite being a man of few words, he was surprisingly a very good listener, knowing exactly what to say at the right times.
compared to the weeks you spent wanting to have him, this should have been enough. hell, it was more than you could have wished for, a thousand times better than the scenarios you had made up in your head moments before sleep overtook you. but still, you needed more.
when you were out in the woods conducting research for your school work, he would close the tavern early or leave it in charles’s capable hands, just to walk you to wherever you set up camp the night prior. he wanted to make sure you were safe, the darknight hero taking it upon himself to safeguard the wilderness instead of the city now.
you’ll never forget the first night he walked you home, though.
it wasn’t like you were scared of the dark or anything, knowing that your combat training would come in handy should a monster decide to attack. but the night was calm near thousand winds temple, and your heart was light after gathering precious evidence for your thesis.
the quietude was suddenly disturbed by a rustling sound coming from behind, and you jump, preparing yourself for the worst.
you quickly lower your guard when you notice the red hair, in stark contrast to the gradually darkening sky.
you hadn’t grown so close with him then, having only met him a couple weeks back when you visited angel’s share with your friends. throwing a surprised glance his way, you greet him,
what are you doing here?
just taking a short walk to clear my head.
the winery is the other direction from here, isn’t it?
his cheeks blush a light pink at your teasing. he was, in fact, not just taking a casual after-dinner stroll to avoid tedious conversation with kaeya. he was here to see you.
it’s getting dark. how about i accompany you home?
seeing the questioning in your eyes, he quickly adds,
if you’ll allow me, of course.
you couldn’t say no to him.
the walk back to your campsite was spent in silence, the both of you too nervous in each other’s presence and every attempt at small talk failed after a few brief exchanges of words.
you pause a few feet away from the camp, the man still wordless as he comes to a stop next to you.
thank—
before you could awkwardly extend your appreciation, his lips were on yours. as if enabled by his sudden confidence, you allow yourself to hold him the way you dreamed of ever since the first day you met him.
he was holding your cheeks like you were the most precious being, and your lungs nearly give out as you exchange passionate kisses, silently conveying every word you had wanted to say to each other.
but no, this wasn’t right. you knew it and so did he.
you muster enough strength to pull away, and his lips chased after you before drawing back to lean his forehead against yours.
he was never meant for you to have. no matter how much you wanted to, you couldn’t lead him on just to break his heart later.
diluc, don’t.
he went to press another kiss to your lips, and you dodge it with great reluctance.
why?
don’t do this to me. you don’t mean it.
diluc trailed his fingers down the side of your face before lifting your chin to meet his eyes, glowing flames almost lighting up the dark of the night.
who said i didn’t mean it?
and i scream for whatever it's worth "i love you", ain't that the worst thing you've ever heard?
you never wanted to do this to him, yet you couldn’t let yourself go without admitting your true feelings to him, even if it’s for the last time.
can’t we at least try? don’t you want to try?
you shake your head violently to wish the tears away, still too stubborn to let him see you like this. with a shaky sigh, you take one backwards step, then another, until you are sure he can’t sweep you back into his arms with one stride.
oh, how much you wished he would hold you now.
but he doesn’t, and your chest hurts even more at the relief you feel, seeing him stand perfectly still.
i love you.
and with that, you disappear from his life. it might be cruel, yes, the last words you ever say to him the worst thing he’s ever heard.
goodbye, diluc.
but it was a cruel summer, with him.

Reacting to Your First Sonogram | Satan x Reader
Satan had figured out you are pregnant long before you even took the pregnancy test. He told you it’s because he knows everything, but it was really because he’d been studying up on children lately, considering bringing the topic of children up to you.
But to his surprise, he didn’t need to because you were already showing the symptoms of pregnancy based on the books he was currently indulging in.
When you took a test to confirm it, you immediately set up the appointment to get a sonogram done.
Satan obviously did a lot of research about the process and insisted you not get the sonogram that required more physical contact with you than he appreciated, and instead get the type you only needed to show your stomach.
He was protective before, but he was in overdrive now.
He’d gotten you to the office early and filled out all the paperwork himself, only asking a few questions here and there about more personal things, of which he knew most of.
He remained calm and collected in the waiting room, but you were a tad more nervous than him, to say the very least.
You placed your hands over your belly, although it wasn’t protruding even a little, and he placed his hand on top of yours and smiled at you warmly.
“Don’t worry, ___, there’s nothing to be nervous about,” he chirped.
“Yeah, I know. I’m just nervously excited. Is that the right way to put it? Like…like we’re seeing our kid for the first time—“ you are cut off when the waiting room door opened.
“Lord Satan, ___?” The nurse called your names.
You smiled shyly and stood up, walking hand in hand with Satan to the nearest available room.
The nurse instructed you to change into the gown, went over the paperwork with you, and informed you the doctor would be with you shortly.
“Here, do you want me to change the bed setting?” Satan asked, picking up the remote.
“Oh? No, I think I’m okay—“
He pressed the buttons anyway, and the bed frame slowly leaned backward until you were nearly flat on your back.
“Um, Satan, could you—“
“Good evening—“ the doctor greeted and paused when he saw what was happening. Satan blushed and handed the doctor the remote, and he proceeded to fix the bed.
“Thank you,” you said, a little embarrassed.
“Haha, no worries,” the doctor joked with you and began explaining to Satan what he was doing, but Satan waved him off, as he already knew.
You fussed at him and asked the doctor to continue his explanation.
After rubbing the cool jelly or your stomach while Satan watched closely, the doctor ran the transducer across your belly while looking at the screen.
Satan squeezed your hand and stared intently at the screen.
“Aaaand…right there,” the doctor grinned, turning to see your reaction.
Your eyes were wide, as were Satan’s at the little squirming thing on the screen.
“Wow…” he said in awe.
“How old is it?” You asked, and the doctor gave you his best rough estimation.
“About nine weeks, give or take a few days. I’ll give you two a minute alone,” he excused himself from the room to grab more paperwork as you and Satan stared at the screen, completely transfixed with the tiny heartbeat.
“You know…” Satan began, at a loss for words. “I know full well how life is created, but this is still so…incredible….”
You grinned and agreed, squeezing his hand and staring at his gobsmacked expression.
“So that’s it then…” he added, “I guess in a few weeks when we come back, it’ll be a lot bigger, won’t it?”
“Yeah…so will I,” you said with an unpleased grimace.
He laughed at you and patted your head, “yes, but I will love you no less, so don’t worry about how big you’ll get, just know how proud I am of you for being able to carry the life of our child. That’s no easy feat.”
You nodded over-enthusiastically, earning another laugh from him before he turned back to the screen and sighed happily.
Seeing how happy he was, you knew now was the best opportunity to joke with him.
“So…how do you think Lucifer feels about being a grandfather?”
“___!”

In Loving Memory (Bucky Barnes imagine)
Tumblr media
Request: @missroro the reader is steve twin and she married to bucky after the blip, she had enough of the 'new captain america' thing shes really mad, so when walker and his friend start talking about joining forces she snap like she pull out a gun and pointing right at them, also sam ofc dont forget about sam. Sam trying to stop her while bucky "nah let her do her fun"
Words: 2021
Warning: !!TFATWS SPOILER!! without context - violence
A/N: wrote this today, it basically follows the events of ep3 of fatws but without context. I have a couple of exams this week so I won't be able to post until next saturday. Until then, enjoy
"You shouldn’t have gave him the shield"
Sam frowned, turning back to look at Bucky.
"I didn’t gave him the shield" He defended himself, making a point.
"Well, Steve definitely didn’t" Y/N ironically answered back.
He gave her a pointed stare. They had had this conversation countless times and Y/N never missed a chance to remind him of what she thought was a huge mistake.
"You are the reason this is happening, Sam. You chose to take on my brother’s legacy and threw it out the window"
The man didn’t reply and pursed his lips. He knew she didn’t mean any of her harsh words, she was angry and still mourning. If taking it out on him could make her feel better, he would let her.
"Y/N, stop" Bucky took a step toward his wife, clasping her hand in his metal one. He had hoped the physical contact would be enough to calm her down.
"He abandoned me, Sam" She continued, her voice filled with emotions. "He was gone and all I had left was memories. I chose this life for him, I fought with him, I believed in everything he represented. I looked up to him, to Captain America. And today, even those memories are gone, taken by the same government you and I were up against, mocked by clowns pretending to be heroes, all because you gave up"
The Falcon closed his eyes and dropped his head. She couldn’t see his point of view, or share his opinions when her judgment was clouded by so much pain. He wished she could understand the dilemma, the duality that represented the shield for him.
"Y/N, please, that’s enough" Bucky whispered next to her ear.
She turned her head toward him and as usual, his heart broke when he saw the torment in her eyes. She didn’t need to speak, she was an open book to him. They both had lost so much and yet were all each other had left. They were collateral damage, their own team against a world that wasn’t theirs anymore. She silently nodded, assuring him she was fine. Sam watched Bucky kissing her forehead and he furrowed his brow. He would never admit it but he was glad they had each other, because no one could carry that much pain alone without crumbling apart.
Before any of them could add anything, soldiers in blue and red erupted in the room, bursting through the door of the apartment where they were hiding in Latvia. Bucky instinctively grabbed Y/N and forced her body to move behind his. The two man stood in front of them, tall and proud, a smug smile on their lips.
"Alright, that’s it, your time is up" The man calling himself Captain America announced, the shield in one hand, the other pointing at the three avengers. "Tell me where Zemo is"
"We know you’re hiding him" His sidekick added.
"I’m ordering you to turn him over"
Sam eyed them up and down.
"Let’s be clear, the only thing you’re running here is your mouth" The Falcon firmly replied, crossing his arms.
"I gave you a chance to work with us" He mentioned.
" ‘For us’ is the correct way to put it, tough guy. And we said no." Y/N reminded him, her face showing how much she was annoyed.
"You’re obviously in over your head so I suggest you turn back and go" Sam argued.
"You really want this conversation to go there ?" The hero threatened.
Bucky straightened up when he felt Y/N tensing. He knew she was already on the verge of snapping. One wrong word from the man she hated and this could go down to hell.
"Should I put down the shield ?" He continued to challenge Sam. "Make it fair?"
The woman groaned and when John Walker dropped his weapon, without a second thought, she grabbed the nearest knife and threw it right at his face. The man had barely enough time to move back and his eyes rose in surprise when the blade stuck itself into the wall with force.
"Sorry, it slipped" She ironically explained, shrugging.
"You don’t want to play this game with me" He tried to intimidate her, tilting his head to the side.
She smiled, pleased he was giving her the opportunity to smack his face. Bucky clenched his fists when he saw her walking in front of Walker. Without tearing her eyes away from his, she seized her knife and pulled it out of the wall with a sharp movement.
"I think someone should teach you a lesson, Walker" She told him in a low tone.
"Are you offering ?" He challenged her.
"Don’t tempt me"
"You’re lucky you’re his sister" He grinned. "But don’t push it. This Captain America is not as lenient as the previous was"
Bucky swore under his breath. It was too late now. And just as Sam looked at him with concern, Y/N threw her fist in a curved punch at the soldier. He used his forearm to counter the blow, but she was faster and had far more experience. Using the momentum, her foot rose up and kicked him in the face. The man was thrown back, shaking his head in confusion.
"We should do something" Sam advised the former assassin.
"No. Let her have her fun" He crossed his arms, harboring a small smirk.
The soldier tried to hit her back, but even when he took the shield she blocked his attack. His sidekick soon joined the fight and distracted her for a second, just enough time for Walker to punch her. Immediately, she felt the taste of blood in her mouth, but no pain. She was passed that, far too pissed to feel anything.
Another blow on her chest send her to the ground and Hoskins hold her down while his friend was about to hit her with her brother’s shield. He raised it in the air, with every intention of beating her, but a strong metal hand stopped him in his movement. A very infuriated Bucky stood before him, his blue eyes darkening with anger. He firmly took the weapon, knocked Hoskins out with it and threw it across the room.
"If you wanted to make it fair, you shouldn’t have chosen to hit my wife" His tone was terrifying.
Walker didn’t seem as confident anymore. Bucky looked imposing, brute force ready to strike. His metal arm clenched in a fist and, without warning, it collided with the soldier’s jaw, sending him a few feet away. He strode to the man on the ground and grabbed him by the collar of his uniform
"This is all easy for you, isn’t it ?" Walker spoke with venom, staring at Bucky. "All that serum running through your veins"
With a swift movement, Y/N took the shield and launched it with power right on the soldier’s chest. The blow was so violent his body crashed into a door before landing on the floor. She was furious by his statement and he could see it with every step she made toward him. She grabbed the gun attached to her thigh and pointed it at his face.
"Lesson number one: learn when to shut up. Especially when you don't know what you're talking about" She was fuming but had not intention on killing the man, despite the sheer desire to do so.
She didn’t realize Sam was next to her until she saw his hand lowering her gun.
"This isn’t what Steve would want." He calmly expressed. "Remember, there’s always another way"
Her lips quivered and she closed her eyes, remembering how many times her brother had told her that. She let him take the weapon and looked up at him. The conviction and kindness in his stare were enough. He didn’t have to say anything. Every words she needed to hear, he spoke them in silence.
She turned back to Bucky and he cupped her face, inspecting the bruise on her skin. He seemed ready to go back and beat the man down. Y/N softly smiled and clasped her hands around his wrists. He stroke her cheek and pulled her toward him before carefully kissing her lips.
"Good ?" He asked in a soft voice he only used with her.
"Good"
It was something between them, a single word they spoke every time they fought. Wherever they were, whomever they were up against, if one of them asked, the other had to answer. It was their intimate way to always know they were alright.
Later that day, Sam and Bucky had decided to go talk to the leader of the Flag Smasher, Karli Morgenthau, while Y/N had been charged to follow Walker and Hoskins. As soon as she had seen they were going after the young super soldier, she had warned her friends about the danger. She knew enough about the new Captain to guess he had no intention on arresting Karli. He wanted to make justice himself. She pitied his sidekick. He seemed like a decent man with good ideas struggling to find virtue on the wrong side of the battle. He was Walker’s collateral damage.
She wondered what Steve would think of all that if he could see them fighting both super soldiers and Captain America. He never cared for the star and stripes, never used his shield to harm. His heart was with the people he defended. Even when it had been against Tony, he pursued what he believed was best. Was that what Walker was trying to do ? She couldn’t know. But she was sure of one thing, the man had nothing in common with Steve. Pride, ego and selfishness were never traits anyone would have used to describe her brother. She couldn’t bear for him to be replaced, especially to a man that didn’t share his morals or any of his opinions. The shield he was carrying wasn’t just a weapon, it was her brother’s symbol of hope, a symbol he had fought so hard to forge. The man made the uniform, not the other way around. That’s what Walker didn’t get. Up until that point, people had not been following Captain America, they had been following Steve Rogers.
Standing in that public square, she didn’t realize she was crying until she felt Bucky entwined his fingers with hers. She couldn’t avert her eyes from the horrific scenery. Powerlessly, she watched a man she didn’t know being executed. His opponent was merciless, striking with determination and rage, using the only piece of memory she had left of her brother to bring terror and death. Frozen on the spot in the middle of the crowd, she could see the fear in all those strangers eyes and it felt like grief coming in waves, a shard in her guts that would never leave. It felt like this particular moment was choking the breath out of her body, short circuiting her mind. What was whole once completely shattered and she couldn’t find the strength to be angry anymore. All her brother had built had fallen apart in the split of a second and all the world had left was a bloodied image of his symbol of hope. A symbol that was no more.
“Sam...” She called him, almost like a scared child.
“I know...”
Both men looked worried. Y/N felt Bucky’s hand trembling and she squeezed him harder. She could easily guess how he felt. Steve had saved both of them, he had gave them a purpose, had allowed the former assassin to be more than the weapon Hydra had made of him. Pieces by pieces, he had brought their family back together. And as they both stood there, witnessing the horrifying end of his legacy, Bucky realized everything his bestfriend had fought for was turning into dust.
"I’m sorry" Y/N whispered to Sam. "But there’s no other way now"
Her husband dropped his head, trying to regain a sense of control over his emotions. Wordlessly agreeing with her, he turned to their friend.
“He has to be stopped”

Quiet Music: Poco a poco forte

Copenhagen was a whirlwind that barely left any time to breathe. Even the short break Y/n was granted in between was promptly used to make a dash for the nearest tourist shop. Adding a fridge magnet to her growing collection. No misses so far. She’d be lying if she wasn’t proud of it. Victoria gave a little tour through the city, giving ample opportunity to provide the fans with content via various social media platforms. A mad scramble back to the venue, soundcheck, dinner. A gig full of little mishaps, including Ethan losing a drumstick halfway through and Damiano almost tumbling off stage. At least the crew had gotten into a groove, ‘new tour’ jitters finally forgotten. That night, at the hotel, Y/n had found herself standing outside her door, empty ice bucket in hand. Somewhat wondering, hoping, someone would join her. Not just anyone. Him. But she wouldn’t knock on his door and he didn’t come to hers. It wasn’t to be. At least not that night.
The morning had brought the band another wake-up call from Y/n. Everyone was starting to settle into their routine. Get ready, get on the bus, get handed coffee by Y/n. She would be lying if she said she wasn’t enjoying this little comfort of domestic bliss, taking care of the people she was starting to consider friends. It felt right.
***
Damiano’s morning wasn’t quite as peaceful. His thoughts were plagued by images of Y/n. His decision to ‘cool it’ and back off a little seemed to be biting him in the arse. When she had come around to wake him up, she had been in a partially sheer blouse, black jeans and boots and he thought she looked like the perfect little alternative housewife. Luring him out of bed with the promise of coffee and breakfast. Now he was sitting on the couch on the bus, watching Y/n fly around the little kitchenette and he couldn’t keep his eyes off her bum in those jeans.
Nope, he wasn’t going to do anything about it. Not now. The conversation with Victoria two nights ago was still ringing in his head. He had decided she was right - no use in pursuing anything unless he was certain what he was feeling and what he wanted out of it. He would still have enough time to make his move once he figured it out. Right? He didn’t know what Y/n was thinking. Or what she thought of him, so no use dwelling on it. Still the thought struck him, he barely knew anything about her. He should probably talk to her more. Infallible logic, he thought to himself. Backing off and talking to her at the same time. Great.
“Y/n… how do you usually take your coffee, by the way?”
“Lots of creamer, usually. Sometimes a bit of sugar, if I’m feeling fancy. Or if I’m feeling really fancy at a café, I might get a caramel macchiato.”
“Caramel is always nice.” Of course, she would like caramel, he thought to himself. “Do you normally drink coffee or are you more or stereotypical British tea drinker?”
“I enjoy a cuppa when I’m home, definitely. Italians aren’t exactly known for their tea now, are they?” A smirk appeared on her face, maybe a little baffled by the conversation, but happy to humour him. “Lady Gray is a particular favourite. Followed by breakfast tea with some sugar and milk. Before coffee. I can make you some tea sometime if you fancy?”
“That’d be great. You know, I just had an amazing idea actually,” Damiano grinned. “When we first went to Berlin, there was this amazing tea shop - would you want to go when we have the gig there?”
“That sounds lovely,” Y/n replied. “Of course.”
Another step closer to getting to know her.
***
“Right, we’ve all got an hour until soundcheck and some press things, I’m gonna go take Chili on her walk, you lot do whatever you want until then.”
Y/n had expected a few non-committal grunts, a wave, maybe a “see you later, I’ll go have a nap”, but instead, the whole band seemed to be on their highest energy levels. All of them immediately scrambled to their feet, looking for shoes and jackets, proclaiming they wanted to see the city, maybe take some pictures for Instagram along the way. Y/n wouldn’t dare complain about the company.
It didn’t take them long to reach the harbour, walking along the river as they enjoyed the bustle of town and the view. Y/n found herself pulling out her phone, telling everyone to gather around her.
“I’m no photographer, but I do need some memories of all of this. Thomas, stop pulling that face!” Thomas quickly dropped the grimace as she took the picture, the historic old town in the background. Chili was busy running around between the five of them, loving whoever gave her the attention the most. Y/n thought Victoria was reaching for the leash, already preparing to hand it over, but instead the bassist grabbed her hand. Obviously in a giddy mood, she began swinging their intertwined hands between them as they walked. Y/n couldn’t bite back a smile. She had missed having a close friend ever since she had moved to Italy leaving her best friend behind in the UK and she felt like this blossoming friendship with Victoria could truly begin to fill the void in her heart.
The blonde girl pulled her into a deep hug as Chili decided to go bother Ethan instead.
“I want a photo with just you,” Vic explained, pulling out her own phone for a snapshot. Y/n complied with a sigh but wrapped her arms around her, ready to take the picture. Right as the click went off, Victoria pressed a kiss to her cheek, taking her by surprise. Neither of them could hold back a giggle at her face in the photo.
“I’ve got a surprise for you, by the way,” Y/n spoke up as a little break in the conversation offered itself. If only to distract from the affection and it worked perfectly. All eyes and ears on her. “I’ve booked a little dinner for tonight. But not just any dinner. A burlesque one!”
The group let out various cheers. Thomas immediately ran ahead of the group, shamelessly faking a striptease as they kept walking. Damiano made sure to record the performance, already giggling to himself. Thomas was in the middle of shrugging off his jacket, walking backwards, when - ouch! - he bumped into a pole, heavily bonking his head. Everyone erupted into hysterical laughter, and after rubbing the back of his head with a pour for a moment, even the guitarist joined in.
“You alright?” Y/n asked breathlessly, trying to hide the giggles in her voice, genuinely concerned about him still.
“Besides the fact that I just got all of you to drop your panties for me? I’m great!” The blond grinned at his own joke, as everyone else rolled their eyes.
“Yes! Oh my god, take me Thomas!” Damiano gasped dramatically, pushing himself up against Thomas, who grabbed onto his leg to dip him.
“Wait! Hold on!” Y/n shouted, once again grabbing her phone as the captured the moment. “Now that’s one for the fridge.”
***
Backstage was business as usual. Y/n once again took the time to watch the band soundcheck, always feeling soft looking at the way they played without having to be ‘on’, without putting on a big performance. Yet, she was still in work mode, phone displaying the name of a reporter she was waiting on, along with the name of the magazine she was working for. It didn’t take long for her to appear.
The woman was undeniably beautiful. Thin figure, long, red hair, picture perfect makeup. Even her clothes were pressed, luxury brands decorating her, adding to the pristine image. A press pass hung around her neck, acrylic nails tapping something into her phone. Leaning back, Y/n noticed the particular red leather on the bottom of the woman’s heels.
It was only after putting her phone away that she acknowledged Y/n at all.
“Anywhere I can sit down with the band?” Her eyes barely even met Y/n’s.
“Uh, yeah, once they’re done with soundcheck, they will be in the greenroom,” Y/n said, mustering the woman. “You the reporter?”
“Sure, sure. Can I go there now, sit down, get ready?”
Y/n studied the press pass on the woman’s neck, making sure she was actually the person they were looking for and shrugged. “Alright, follow me.”
She led the reporter further backstage. The greenroom was fitted with a couch and a couple of chairs, a vanity in front of the mirror and makeup already carelessly thrown around. A costume rack in the back.
“Make yourself at home.”
“Thanks,” the woman muttered, looking around the room, obviously dissatisfied with it’s slightly chaotic state and - probably - lack of style. “That’s all I need you for, then.”
Y/n’s eye twitched, busying herself with the clothes, reorganising them to distract herself.
“Sorry to disappoint you, but rules are rules. Can’t be in a room alone, privacy reasons and all that. I’m sure you understand.”
“Well then.” She carefully placed herself on one of the chairs, highly aware of her posture, her face, and the fact that she’d be right in view of everybody entering the room. “Maybe you can be a bit of help, then. You know, a little insider information between us girls… How into the whole, you know, rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle are they really? I’m talking, drugs, alcohol… groupies?”
It was no question as to what she was hinting at.
“Well, Damiano has a whole tattoo verifying that he hates parties. Plus, they’re not really known for that kind of stuff. And for the interview, I’d rather you stick to the approved questions that your magazine has discussed with our management. There’s no ‘insider information’ here -” Y/n was about to talk herself into a whole rant, when the door opened and the band moved into the room, joyous and hyped for the show that evening.
Victoria was the first to bounce over to Y/n, kissing her cheek, before collapsing on the couch next to her. Ethan, Thomas and Damiano followed suit. Chili had followed the band, now hopping onto the couch and making herself comfortable on Y/n’s lap. Ethan looked over at the reporter, brow raised. “You here to do the interview?”
“Oh you know it,” she winked. Y/n didn’t miss how her whole demeanour had changed and she couldn’t have been more annoyed. “Lovely to meet you all.”
She held out her hand to Ethan, the smirk never leaving her face, before greeting the others in a similar fashion. She held onto Damiano’s hand much longer than the others.
“Nice to meet you,” Damiano said, politely, sitting down as well.
“Oh, that’s no trouble at all,” she beamed at the singer. “Now, you’re here in Hamburg today, and in the part of town most notorious for having Europe’s largest red light district. Do you feel like that’s the perfect background for your gig tonight? You know, with the music you play and the way you dress - it’s not like you’ve been shy about sex in your career so far.”
They all chuckled slightly.
“Well, sexuality isn’t something to be ashamed about, at least we don’t think so. It’s part of everyday life and part of our own experiences so we put that into music,” Victoria eloquently explained. “And what we’ve seen of the city so far has been very beautiful.”
“Well, maybe I should give you a little tour then, show you the naughty parts of town,” she laughed. “Back on topic though, I imagine touring can be hard, being away from everyone. Do you ever get lonely on tour? For friends or… something else?”
Damiano coughed. “Sure, we get lonely, like anyone else would. But we make a family out of the crew. Everyone on our team is very close to us.” Y/n could clearly see in his eyes that he knew full well what the woman was hinting at. “We love touring, so when you love something, it doesn’t feel like work.”
Ethan nodded in agreement. Y/n could see through all of them easily - none of them wanted to be there.
“Yes, of course, touring can be difficult, but we have fun, so not that bad,” Thomas added.
Y/n didn’t miss the way the reporter briefly looked over her shoulder to muster a reaction from her. “Well I’m sure you’re easily able to find some fun away from your… crew. Lots of parties on tour so far?”
At that point, Y/n was ready to rip the reporter to shreds. But she knew she had to stay professional, and the band was more than able to hold their own, so she stayed quiet. Ethan next to her sat up a little, obviously uncomfortable.
“No, we don’t party. No time.” His vision went dark as he looked at the woman in front of them. As kind and mindful as he usually was, he didn’t shy down when it came to showing his scarier side when he needed to.
“Yeah. We sometimes go to a bar on a day off, but that’s about it. Work is more important,” Victoria threw in as she put an arm around Ethan on the back of the couch.
Y/n felt a wave of pride at the way the band was holding up. It was absolutely no secret to her that they were desperately waiting for this interview to end, annoyed with the reporter and the lines she kept trying to cross, but they stayed polite and professional. She thought that this was what made them real rockstars in that moment.
“Okay, one more question, then. You entered this business really young, you still are, yet you write quite mature music, how do you manage that?”
“We write what we want to write. Perform how we want to perform. I don’t think that has an age limit,” Damiano spoke curtly. His eyes flickered over to their assistant. Y/n was sure he didn’t miss the way she was staring daggers into the back of the reporter’s skull. “And music has always been a passion of ours. We just got lucky really early in life, I guess.”
“Well thank you very much for your time,” the reporter said, standing up, and once again reaching out her hand to say her goodbyes. “Hope to see you around…” As she came to Damiano, Y/n didn’t miss how she stuffed a little note in his hand. “...hopefully.”
“Can I go kick her face now?” Y/n stood up, seething, as soon as the reporter had left the room. “Sorry, no, that’s actually rude. But I’m going to call management and report that woman.”
“Yeah, that… wasn’t cool,” Ethan contemplated. “How about you make that call and then we take your mind off it with the dinner show you booked for us, yeah?”
Y/n took a deep breath, looking at Ethan, whose eyes had turned back to show nothing but kindness. She couldn’t wait to forget about this disaster for the rest of the evening and enjoy herself. With the band in tow, she was sure she would.
***
Damiano hadn’t been quite sure what to expect from dinner that evening - but it wasn’t a table smack in the middle of the first row right in front of the stage. He should have seen it coming, really. When Y/n planned and schemed, she always made sure to get them the best of the best. Determined to make sure everyone was having fun. She truly took care of them like no other.
A waiter was at their table in no time, taking orders for drinks and food, and the openers started before Damiano even had a chance to take a sip of his wine. As soon as it became obvious that the first act of the evening would be pole dancing. The rest of the band started snickering, nudging Damiano’s side. Still, they all watched in amazement as the dancer started their performance, music filling the room.
“You know, I could do that,” Damiano whispered in Y/n’s ear as he leaned in close. She looked over at him - at the performer - back to him.
“Sure you can,” she giggled.
“Oh I can,” Damiano insisted, leaning in closer than necessary now. “And in heels.”
Y/n couldn’t stop herself from coughing, choking ever so slightly on her drink, as her eyes widened and a slight shade of pink appeared on her face.
Damiano simply couldn’t help himself. He knew he had meant to back off, give her a little space, give himself some time to think, but the words simply slipped out. “I can always offer you a private show, you know?”
This time, she only paused for a moment before whispering back, “You teach me pole dancing, I’ll teach you rumba, yeah?”
Fuck, he hadn’t expected her to get the upper hand so quickly. Still, he never once lost his smirk, murmuring a “sure” back at her. She had gotten back her cool, focusing back on her meal now, only looking up to watch the performance every now and then in between bites. She was making it way too hard for him to back off. He wondered if she knew what she was doing to him.
Leaning back into his chair, Damiano watched the performer on stage. They were beautiful, no question about that. Amazing at what they did. It was impossible to keep your eyes off them, even Y/n kept getting distracted. He wondered if she’d look at him the same way if it was him up there. Or if he did a little show himself that night, on stage at their own gig. Catching her attention like the dancer was doing now. Maybe making her lose her mind a little bit. It was worth a try…
The performance was over much too quickly for his liking and only shortly after, the main dancer of the evening was announced to go on stage soon. It didn’t take long for the lights dimming, before fading to black completely. A hush falling over the crowd. A spotlight found a petite, blonde bombshell in the middle of the stage. Perfectly sculpted hair, blue boa feather skirt, a glitter corset that dripped with silver and gold accents. She seemed to be glistening under the stage light, body glitter accenting all the right curves and features. Then she turned around.
Damiano’s jaw dropped - along with just about everyone else’s. She was così bella, un angelo. She walked to the front of the stage as the crowd cheered and whistled. Damiano was enraptured by her. She was mystifyingly beautiful. Each move was carefully planned out, knowing exactly what she was doing and how to do it. She was feeding off the crowd, spurred on by the shouts and comments, as she moved across the stage.
Damiano’s eyes followed her closely. He felt hypnotised by her performance. He had never given burlesque much thought, but this show was changing his mind rapidly. The only thing to pull him out of his was a sigh - a disgruntled noise maybe - coming from his left. It was hard to make out Y/n’s face in the dark, he realised as he turned towards her. But if he’d learned anything about her body language in the past days, he was certain that she wasn’t happy. Her arms were crossed in front of her and she was leaned back in her chair in a way that tried to suggest she wasn’t bothered. But she was. He just couldn’t figure out why.
He was distracted when the dancer was back in front of their table, looking down at them from the stage. She sent all of them a wink, before pulling the elbow-length gloves off one by one and throwing them to the side with a smile. She mesmerised him, even as she moved away from them to give another table some attention. Yet, Y/n was playing at the back of his mind.
Why did she seem so mad? She was the one who had booked this dinner, why wasn’t she having fun? Was she still preoccupied with the reporter from before? Sure, that one had definitely stepped over lines, but he thought they’d all gotten out of there pretty unscathed. And the reporter's number had wandered into the bin immediately. He considered the matter closed.
The woman on stage slowly lowered herself into a split, causing pretty much the whole audience to lose their minds. This was too good. More cheers and applause from everywhere. Damiano heard Vic shouting vague words of encouragement as the woman lost her bra, only pasties covering her nipples now. Y/n let out a little groan and from the corner of his eye, he could see her rolling hers. This time, Damiano wasn’t the only one who noticed. He watched as Victoria and Ethan exchanged looks, then nods, and finally shrugs.
Finally the performance ended, the dancer leaving the stage with another wink and kiss blown towards them. Damiano wished it could’ve gone on for longer. These people knew how to turn sex into art, and he’d by lying if he said it didn’t inspire him.
“Okay, gather up, no time to waste,” Y/n order, getting up from her seat the second the lights were turned back on. “You have a show to play and I don’t want you to be late.”
Damiano threw another look around. Even Thomas, who had been too preoccupied drooling over the dancer to notice anything else, was now staring at Y/n questioningly.
“What’s going on with her?” The guitarist asked as they all gathered their stuff and followed their assistant outside.
“Fuck if I know,” Damiano mumbled. “But I wanna find out, sooner or later.”
***
It wasn’t like her to be jealous. She didn’t care much about what other people found enthralling. But Damiano had looked at the dancer as if she was god’s gift to humanity. Yes, she was pretty, yes, she knew how to shake her arse. Was it all that special? The dancer was petite, a perfect fit for Damiano’s arms. A perfect figure to match his. Y/n was confident, she knew she was beautiful, but unfortunately the rest of the world didn’t always think the same. Unlike the dancer on stage. That woman was more than beautiful… She was palatable, sexy, perfect in all the ways a woman should be. Qualities that Y/n was currently convinced she didn’t possess any of.
Okay, maybe she was jealous. But she didn’t have any right to be. The dancer was simply doing her job. And so what, if Damiano had fancied her? It wasn’t like they were together. She worked for him, that was all. She didn’t have any right to want anything from him beyond that.
The fresh air hit her face as she left the venue, forcing some clarity onto her. She’d have to get a grip and get back to focusing on her job. It’s what she was there for, after all.
***
Victoria bounced over the Y/n as she left the venue, full of adrenaline and happiness from the show she had just watched.
“That was amazing, Y/n! Where did you get the idea for this being today’s dinner?” She asked, hooking onto the assistant’s arm.
“Looked up places we could go online, found this one in a travel blog. Said it had amazing wine so I thought we could check it out,” she explained without looking up from her hands, which were toying with the receipt.
“Well, you sure do have impeccable taste,” Victoria grinned and kissed her cheek. It seemed to pull Y/n out of her head enough to look up at the bassist. But Vic’s smile vanished quickly when she saw the look in her eyes. It was cloudy, gloomy, enough to make Victoria freeze up. Thomas was excitedly chattering about the show in the performance in the background, how hot he thought the performers were, especially the last dancer. Damiano eagerly agreed. Y/n’s seemed to have a flash of venom on her face, and suddenly it clicked in Vic’s mind. Oh, she knew that look well, had carried it herself a couple of times in her life.. She was jealous. Y/n was jealous of the way they all - or maybe, someone in particular - had reacted to the woman on stage. And she was doing a bad job hiding it.
As soon as the car pulled up, everyone scrambled to get it. Y/n immediately started bouncing her leg, still a stormy look in her eyes. If it didn’t seem so serious, Victoria would be amused at the state their assistant was in. Yet, with the expression on her face right then and there, the bassist didn’t dare make a joke.
Damiano was sitting next to Y/n, and Victoria desperately tried to catch his eye. It took a slight kick against his shin to get him to look at her. She flickered eyes back and forth between Damiano and Y/n, motioning him towards the woman. Hoping he would understand. Luckily, they’d long gotten used to reading the other’s face, no need for a verbal conversation. Damiano looked down at Y/n’s hands, still picking at the receipt, and he quickly grabbed one of them. Interlacing their fingers and offering her a smile when she looked up. Her leg stopped bouncing immediately.
“You alright?” He whispered.
“Yeah. Am now.”
Victoria couldn’t bite back the smile on her face, quickly turning towards her phone to be less oblivious. Those two would do just fine, sooner or later, she was sure of it.
***
The concert venue was smaller than some of the others they’d been playing on this tour, but if anything, it had caused the crowd to be even more rowdy. Y/n once again sat to the side of the stage, engrossed in her phone. Damiano snuck a peek through the curtain, before retreating and watching Y/n instead. She didn’t seem half as gloomy as she did at the dinner show. But a certain forlorn quality was still obvious. She had never been this type of obviously sad or upset before. At least not to his attention. Well, he was determined to get her to laugh tonight. Whatever had ruined her mood, he was going to fix it.
The band was getting hyped up, gathering around, some last minute fixes to their instruments among excited chatter. Yet, apparently, it hadn’t been only him who noticed Y/n’s mood. Once again sharing a look with Ethan, Victoria motioned her head over to their assistant. He nodded, before walking over to Y/n, taking her by the hand to get her to stand up, and pressing a kiss to her cheek. Victoria quickly followed suit, then Thomas, who had caught on. Damiano quickly gave a wink before kissing her forehead instead.
“For luck!” He shouted, as he ran on stage, welcoming the crowd. A quick look back confirmed a bashful smile on her face.
Everyone was on fire that night, even Y/n seemed to let go of her bad mood more and more. Damiano didn’t miss the way she sang along to their cover of ‘Take Me Out’, obviously getting into the show more than previous nights. Knowing all the lyrics, dancing ever so slightly… Damiano realised he really had it bad for her.
He decided to go for it during “For your love”. With a pointed look towards her, he slowly started rolling off one arm of his jacket. Then the other. A little mock burlesque show of his own, dramatically shimmying his shoulders as he got rid of the jacket completely. The crowd more than appreciated his little performance, judging by their screams. The rest of the band was eating his energy up, playing harder, going crazier. As Damiano jogged over to grab some water, he didn’t miss the opportunity to turn his back towards Y/n, shaking his arse in a bad attempt at twerking. Turning back, he could see that she was desperately trying to bite back a smile. But he wasn’t done yet.
Making sure she was still looking at him, he began playing with his microphone. Giving it a teasing lick and sending her a wink at the same time. Watching her as he let his hand rest on his chest, slowly wandering lower with a teasing touch, until it rested in his lap. He only managed to keep it up for a second, before he couldn’t hold back the laugh at her expression anymore and turned back towards the audience.
But apparently, Y/n had some trick of her own. Well, it seemed like she wasn’t even aware of them, but they worked on Damiano all the same. She was taking her hair out of the pony tail for the night and he thought the way it cascaded around her face was beautiful. He felt like a movie cliche, watching as the main character let her hair down and everything suddenly happened in slow motion. Yet, here she was, trying to shove a bobby pin back into place, and he was losing his shit. He thought it was ridiculous though. The crazier her hair went, the crazier he went about her. She swayed to the music and for a second Damiano could swear time stood still.
I wonder if she likes her hair pulled… The thought distracted him to the point that he forgot what he was singing, quickly covering it up by animating the audience to sing it instead. He was glad to be nearing the end of the set. He’d never wish to go off stage, per se, but Y/n was once again occupying his thoughts and the way she was moving to the music now didn’t help.
Another song, another bow towards the audience, another well-practised “Danke!”, and they were off stage. Damiano briefly considered going over to Y/n, only to see Thomas basically chasing her away, threatening her with a sweaty hug. Her slightly panicked squeals proved she wasn’t a fan of the idea. He didn’t mind. He’d make sure there’d be more time to catch up with her later.
Briefly dropping into the dressing room, Damiano grabbed his cigarettes and a hoodie, before heading outside for a smoke. The backstage door led to a quieter alley than the famously busy Reeperbahn on the other end. But there were still more than a handful of people walking past, singing, dancing, shouting into the night, beer bottles in hand. It didn’t take long for everyone else to join him. Ethan headed outside first, bumming a cigarette off the singer, before Thomas and Victoria followed. They were once again involved in some sort of mock argument. Y/n stepped outside a minute later, phone in her hand, already back to work-mode and probably checking the plan for the next few days. Everyone was still on a high from the gig, chatting and giggling, but Damiano felt himself taking a step back. He loved watching his friends, loved what they did, loved that he got to do it with them. And now Y/n too, in a way. Not even a full week in and he knew that this tour wouldn’t have been the same without her.
He was rapidly pulled out of his thoughts as a group of men came towards them, obviously way past drunk. Yelling and hollering for no reason but to be annoying and get everyone’s attention. Damiano hated those kinds of drunks. In his experience they were nothing but trouble. He had half a mind to retreat back inside before they reached the group, but even in their inebriated stupor; they were quicker than expected.
“Now, who are these beautiful girls?” One of them slurred, stepping forward.
“Yeah! Bet you give a man a good time,” another one laughed loudly. “And a cheap one too.”
One of them was moving closer now, almost touching Victoria - but without even a moment to process what was happening, Y/n acted. Damiano watched, fascinated, as she grabbed the man’s extended hand, twisting it around his back and shoulder checking him into the brick wall of the alley. No second thought, no hesitation. Shouldn’t the men have been the one to react and take care of their girls? Well, it didn’t seem like Y/n was one to wait to be saved.
In a tone that he had never heard before - and neither had the rest of the band judging by their reactions - Y/n spoke, “You couldn’t afford me, mate. Or my friends. So I’d take your piss drunk self elsewhere, m’kay?”
The men were gone faster than lightning, stumbling to find their footing as they ran, only starting to comment on how she was a “fat fucking bitch” and how they “wouldn’t have wanted her anyway” when they were far enough away. Y/n wordlessly rejoined the group.
Damiano found himself releasing a breath. The whole scene had been over so quickly, he barely registered it. He wasn’t the only one either, he realised. As the other three kept staring at her, amazed and maybe slightly intimidated, while Y/n didn’t even react.
However, Damiano wasn’t just mesmerised by her behaviour. He was thrilled by her - in more ways than one. The way she had handled herself was downright hot. She was fierce, self-confident, and strong. He couldn’t keep himself from contemplating whether this was a side she would let out in the bedroom as well. Was she the type to take control? Order him around? Push him to a wall like she’d done that guy, only with very different intentions? He would be 100% okay with taking orders from her, he decided.
Y/n finally looked up from her phone, apparently feeling everyone’s stares on her.
“...What. I told you I worked security before.” She looked at Victoria, quietly asking her if she was alright. She simply nodded. Damiano still couldn’t keep his eyes off of their assistant. Damn, that woman had more to herself than she let on.
***
Damiano was still thinking about it an hour later. After everyone had gathered their stuff and gotten back to the hotel and split up into their rooms. After he’d gotten in the shower. His mind was still running wild. He quickly turned the water to cold, letting out a hiss at the change in temperature, but he knew he didn’t have the time or the privacy to do anything about his thoughts. Neither would he be knocking on Y/n’s door, desperate for some kind of attention.
Not tonight.

I am not sure if you have done this already, (if you have, you can ignore it) BUT... I'd love to see some NSFW headcannons for Tech...
i have not done this yet but i am frothing at the mouth at the opportunity! the lust that i feel for that man is indescribable
nsfw tech headcanons
warning: if the title wasn’t clear, these are literally just dirty dirty sex thoughts. X rated shit. if filth of this nature is not suitable for you plz don’t read<3
first and foremost it is very very important for me to say that i know, with 100% confidence, that tech is the best at sex of all the bad batch members
i understand this may be a controversial take. some of you may disagree. i don’t care.
the reasons that tech is the best at sex are threefold
1) tech does not tolerate being anything less than exceedingly proficient when it comes to his knowledge and abilities in any given subject of interest. regardless of the occasion, he won’t accept a below average performance from himself. tech has put in the hours, on and off the field (if you will), to ensure he is well versed in anything and everything to do with sex and pleasure. and he’s always anxious to experiment and learn more
2) tech is not hindered by shyness in the bedroom. when he knows what he’s doing, tech is confident (borderline arrogant), and as stated in reason #1, he KNOWS what he’s doing. tech may be a blushing, bashful mess when it comes to the emotional aspects of a relationship, but once y’all start getting hot and heavy he loses pretty much all of that. he knows he’s gonna show you a good time, and he’s excited
3) tech is also not hindered by pride in the bedroom. he has a very holistic view of sex (seriously he did a lot of research, he knows every school of thought regarding sexual intimacy), and he understands it in both a physical, theoretical way and also in a more emotional way. his main concern is mutual satisfaction by any means necessary, but if you’re in a relationship he’s also very interested in using sex has a way to like strengthen your connection. tech has no interest in being some kind of macho, alpha male that can conquer you or something. he’s not gonna limit himself to certain positions or methods to try to preserve his sense of masculinity. he wants you to feel good, and nothing is off the table. he will explore anything to enhance the experience (like seriously anything- we will get into that in a bit)
so for those reasons, i think tech is lowkey a sex god
whether or not you’ve had sex before when you and tech get together, sleeping with him for the first time might as well be your first time ever
because you did not know sex could really be THAT good
and that’s before he has the opportunity to really learn your body and figure out the best ways to pleasure you
i think that for a hot second, sex with tech is always a little bit of an experiment
he’s obviously focused on you and the moment, but he’s also doing research. (with your permission) tech will literally take detailed notes, he’ll record you so he can watch it back and analyze his performance like a professional athlete or something. he’s keeping track of how you respond to different things, how fast he can get you hurtling over the edge with different positions, paces, toys, etc.
side note: he loves toys. tech will modify toys (or fully build his own) based on both of your specific needs, so that even the toys yall use are designed with maximum efficiency
that’s really the only flaw with tech in a sexual sense: he’s really really methodical in the beginning, and it can sometimes take away from the genuine passion of the moment
once he’s satisfied with his research and feels confident in his knowledge of your body tho, it becomes wayyyy more natural and intimate rather than a science experiment. he’s solid in his physical knowledge of you, so he’s more focused on enjoying the moment and having fun
it’s almost like he needed to memorize the best way to fuck you and do it over and over until he didn’t need to consciously think about it before he could fully let himself go with you. there’s a notable transition when sex goes from being a technical mission for him to achieve your orgasm, to being a mutually/equally passionate, erotic experience
tech is a switch and you can’t change my mind
he usually assumes more of a dominant role, enjoying having you begging and whimpering beneath him, but he also loves when you take the reigns and have your way with him
i don’t think he’s the horniest of all the batchers, but he most certainly has a plentiful sex drive
when y’all haven’t had a chance to fuck in a while tech is secretly incorrigible
to the untrained eye, he’s good at keeping it to himself, but it’s very obvious to you. he goes out of his way to be just a little too close to you, his eyes linger on you just a little too long, his hands find their way to be touching you more than normal
he’s usually really easy to tease, but especially when he’s like this
literally you just stroke his forearm and whisper something lightly seductive in his ear and he’s pulling you into the nearest private space and absolutely rearranging your guts
circling back to what i said about tech becoming less scientific and more passionate during sex as time goes on with you, i think that also applies to dirty talk
i think he’s generally pretty vocal in bed, but it takes a little bit for him to nail the sensuality of dirty talk
at first, it’s not something he can really do that sounds very natural, like it comes out just a little too technical sounding
but once tech gets comfortable with you and really lets himself be fully vulnerable and open to you, he’s actually really really good at it. it still sounds just a little formal, but in an endearing and sexy way
he loves to tell you how sexy you are, how beautiful you look, how well you’re taking him, how good you feel
this man def has a degradation kink (specifically with intelligence)
like he doesn’t even really realize it himself until one time he’s testing out his newest toy on you and he asks you how it feels and you can’t even string together a coherent thought, much less a sentence, and he notices and starts asking more and more questions just to see you struggle to think of a response
and then he’s putting the toy down and going absolutely feral on you, pounding into you and saying that you’re just a cock dumb slut, that you’re so desperate and horny for him you can’t even think, that it’s so easy to just just absolute filth and he’s so condescending and arrogant about it
you both finish almost synchronously and after the aftershocks have passed and you’ve caught your breath, the two of you can’t help giggling a little bit as you comment that you weren’t expecting that to be as hot as it was, and he agrees
and omg if you uno reverse card it and do the same thing to him? he’s a fucking mess
like you’ve been torturously edging him, and every time you get him to the brink you ask him some sort of complex mathematical question or something, and he’s so wrecked he can’t spit the answer out so you say something like “aww i guess you’re not as smart as i thought, that’s ok baby at least you’re still pretty”. he’s a whining, shaking mess by the time you let him cum
(once he pulls himself together he definitely gets you back for it too)
also i think tech really really likes to leave hickeys on you exactly in the most precarious places. like he knows the exact measurements of where your clothes cover your skin and he loves to leave marks like right on the edge so that it’s mostly hidden but if anything shifts it’s visible
if any of the the other boys notice and tease you, he gets the most smug little grin on his face. once you have a second to yourselves, he saunters over to you and apologizes, but you know he’s happy to remind everyone that you’re his
overall i am just so fucking horny for this man like i just know tech is a phenomenal lover, he’s so focused on you and is just so good at all of it i would give anything to take him to pound town

Spooked
Tumblr media
Requested by anon - a picture of your request will be at the bottom of the post! Thanks for sending it in, I had so much fun with it! :)
Pairing: best friend!BTS, maybe some secret crushes going on? 👀
Premise: You + all 7 members of BTS visiting a haunted house. What could go wrong?
So, so much.
Word Count: 4k
Warnings: they are touring a haunted house, so there’s gonna be some scary story/spooky things going on. hopefully there’s enough fun things/fluff to counter it?
a/n: this was longer than I expected it to be...but I was having fun with ot7. hopefully nobody minds lol
Tumblr media
It wasn't your fault that Hobi had never seen "A Quiet Place". He had mentioned it as you scrolled through the options on his TV while lounging on his couch like an overgrown cat. Everyone else was in the process of scarfing down their dinner, popping popcorn, and laughing over whatever Jimin and Yoongi were bickering about.
Obviously you had to watch it.
Naturally, the conversation had drifted to a bit more spooky topics. You'd come back from grabbing more popcorn surprised to find Jin talking about his friend that wanted to open up a house they'd inherited for ghost tours.
After nudging Jimin out of the way, you took up your usual spot next to Taehyung. They all watch you with amused eyes, knowing full well that Taehyung is the only one that willingly scratches your back on movie nights.
"Really, like is it the kind of haunted house where people dress up and scare you?" Jungkook asked, his interest piqued.
Jin shook his head. "No, not really. It sounds like they just walk you through the house and tell stories and stuff."
You and Jungkook share a look, already thinking the same thing. A glance at Hobi shows him clutching a blanket to his chest, caught between the events of the film and the conversation taking place.
"We should go," you ventured, immediately earning a startled stare from both Jin and Hobi. The others chuckle in response, Namjoon swatting Jungkook's hand half-heartedly as he tries to steal more popcorn from him.
"...noooo," Jin began. "It's not like it's up and running yet, they're just working on getting it ready for the fall-"
Jungkook picks up where you left off. "Perfect! We can be their test group. That way they'll know what they can do for the general public, get an idea of what works and what doesn't."
You jump in again before Jin can protest more. "C'mon! And besides, this may be your only chance just to go for fun! Otherwise you'd have to find a way to go without running into all of those people, and have to contact management about it..."
Jin sighs, looking at Hobi who stares back at him with an expression of defeat. You grin, Taehyung chuckling beside you.
"Fine."
Tumblr media
It was all too easy. Standing here now, you can see just why they want to open this up for ghost tours. Of course you won't admit it, but you already have chills running down your spine.
Or maybe that's just because Jung Hoseok is currently breathing down your neck.
"Alright," Jin's friend, Gina stands at the top of the steps, smiling down at you all. "Everybody ready?"
Jungkook and Taehyung, completely riled up, let out whoops and cheers while everyone else grunts in acknowledgement. Hobi clings to the back of your jacket, whimpering like a lost puppy.
This should be fun.
Jungkook doesn't bother to wait for everyone else, heading straight inside after Gina. Taehyung and Jimin are hot on his heels, joking about something back and forth. You follow after them, glancing back at Hobi with an amused grin.
"Oh," he realizes that he's still clinging to you. "Right." Extracting his hand from your jacket, he lets you move forward. He remains close behind you, Jin at his side.
Namjoon and Yoongi bring up the rear, hardly paying attention to anything that's going on as they chat about a business they saw not far from here.
"We'll begin in the front study here," Gina adopts a spooky tone as she stands in the candlelight. Shadows dance along the walls, making the hairs on the back of your neck stand up straight.
Suddenly you wish that Hobi was still holding onto you.
Slowly, so as to not draw the attention (and teasing) of the maknae line, you step back until you're between Namjoon and Yoongi.
The two of them smirk down at you, knowing full well that you're already spooked.
"What are you doing?" Jin whispers back to you, eyes wide while he rubs his arms as though he's cold. "Trying to abandon us to the ghosts?"
You shake your head fervently, hoping that they don't notice the way you're sneaking your hand into the pocket of Yoongi's jacket.
"No, the middle is the safest place," you argue. Yoongi gives a breathy chuckle beside you, his hand finding yours in the warmth of his pocket and giving it a squeeze. Thankfully the house is dark enough that the blush on your cheeks shouldn't be visible.
Absentmindedly you link your other arm through Namjoon's, hardly able to breathe properly when he instinctively moves closer.
What were you even saying?
"A-and now you've got three in front and three in back. You're totally safe."
Hobi and Jin look at each other like they know exactly what you’re up to, but don't push it as they suddenly begin walking again. Gina leads the way toward the dining room, weaving a tale of how the estranged wife of the owner of the house swore she would never leave the property.
"Did she?" Jungkook asks from the front, peeking in closed off rooms along the way. You can't help but marvel at his fearlessness.
Gina's eyes glow with excitement, almost as though she were waiting for someone to ask that. "No. Years later, when the owner sold the house, the new occupants said they found a sealed off room in the basement." You gasp, the sound echoing through the hallway. You miss the look Jimin gives you, too attached to the story.
"What..." you clutch Namjoon's arm, the fabric of his jacket bunching in your hand. "Did they ever open up the room?"
Gina grins. "They did. They hired someone to come and open the sealed door. However, the man they hired only got about halfway before quitting. He was terrified."
Yoongi leans down to whisper in your ear. "Are you trying to cut off my circulation?"
It's only then that you notice you've been squeezing his hand with startling strength. "Whoops." Going to remove your hand from his, he frowns, holding it tighter before you can move.
Well, if this isn't a rollercoaster of emotions.
"Why was he so scared?" Namjoon pipes up beside you, a hint of a smile gracing his features as he reads the expression on your face. Oh, you're so screwed. "Did he find something?"
"It's not so much what he found as what he didn't," Gina replies. "But we'll have to save that for last. For now, the dining room. Come on in, everyone."
Hobi looks back at you, a mixture of horror and overall curiosity on his face. “Oh, she’s good.”
Indeed, Gina definitely seems to have a way with words. You’re just having a hard time understanding them as your heart beats loudly enough to drown out any other noises. Yoongi has taken to tracing circles on the back of your hand, which you think are meant to be soothing.
It only serves to send your heart rate skyrocketing. You stare at the portrait on the far end of the dining room, practically boring holes into the painting of the young woman.
Breathe, don’t do anything stupid.
“...alright?”
You blink, finding yourself to be the sudden center of attention. Jungkook grins widely at you.
“What?”
Jungkook repeats his question. “Are you doing alright?”
“Oh.”
Jimin bursts out laughing. “That’s not an answer, jagiya. Need us to protect you from the ghosts?”
Your wide eyes immediately give you away, and even Gina is offering you a look of pity before deciding to continue on with the tour. Before you embarrass yourself even more, you slip out of Yoongi and Namjoon’s grasp, sneaking up behind Jin and Hobi.
“Hello boys,” you drawl, making Hobi nearly jump out of his skin. You earn a laugh from the group, Jin chuckling at his scared friend. Hobi just glares at you.
“This sucks,” he whispers to you, pulling you up to stand between him and Jin. Immediately they stick to your sides like magnets and you realize that you have indeed done something stupid as Jin’s breath ghosts over the shell of your ear as he goes to whisper something to you.
Out of the frying pan and into the fire, it would seem. Your heart certainly agrees.
“I’m not scared, you know,” Jin whispers. You take a deep breath, reminded yourself that these idiots are your best friends, not menu items.
You shoot him an incredulous look. “I doubt that.”
He grins at you, eyes lingering a bit longer than usual. “You’ll see.”
Tearing your eyes away from his and hearing his deep chuckle, you wonder if it’s too late to ask Gina where the nearest exit is.
Don’t do anything stupid.
“Shall we head up to the attic?” Gina asks. “It’s a small space, we can only go three at a time. However, there are some really interesting old photographs up there that we should look at.”
In the blink of an eye everyone is paired off, and you find yourself face to face with Jimin. He grins at you like the Cheshire Cat, making you wonder if he isn’t the most dangerous thing in this house.
Jin and Hobi have the glorious opportunity to go up together while Gina leads the way, and several screams accompany their little trip. In the middle of the candlelight in the hallway, you chuckle with the rest of your friends.
“It’s been interesting so far,” Jungkook muses. “I really want to know what they found in that sealed off basement room.”
Taehyung hums in agreement. “Mmm. Or rather, what they didn’t find.”
“What does that even mean?”
Nobody is given a chance to answer Jungkook’s question as Hobi and Jin come scrambling down the ladder, faces pale even as they laugh. Gina chuckles from above, beckoning the next pair to come up.
Jimin looks at you with an arched brow. “Wanna go next?”
“Sure.” You follow him up the ladder, laughing as Jin recounts how he swore the woman in the photograph blinked.
The attic is filled with moonlight, and under other circumstances it might be pretty. However, amongst the old heirlooms sits an ominous scrapbook, filled with black and white photos of less-than-happy people.
Jimin reaches down, grabbing your hand and helping you to your feet as you look around. When he lets go you aren’t sure whether or not to be disappointed.
You’ve hardly made up your mind when he leads you to where Gina stands beside the scrapbook and slips behind you. A moment later his arms encircle your waist, chin propped up on your shoulder.
So there’s that.
Gina points to the first photo, a grim-looking man standing behind a chair where a young woman sits smiling. “This is the estranged wife, before she was estranged, of course. And this is the owner of the house. From what we’ve been able to dig up about his past - no pun intended - he was always deathly serious.”
Jimin hums in acknowledgement, the vibrations going straight into your spine. Unsure of what to do with your arms, you gently place them atop his arms around your middle.
You swear he smiles for a moment before turning pensive again. “Why did they separate?” You manage to ask, applauding yourself for getting a complete sentence out while Park Jimin hugs you from behind.
“Rumor has it she cheated on him with his best friend,” Gina whispers, pointing to another photo where the solemn owner stands beside a smiling man. “He was driven mad with jealousy. Terrible, isn’t it?”
Gina gives you a long look, and suddenly you straighten your spine. “I-uh, yeah. Horrible.”
She shows us another photo, explaining something about it while Jimin mumbles out a couple of questions. You hardly process any of it, staring at Gina and wondering if she thinks that you are somehow cheating.
But on who? Jin, maybe? Since that’s her friend?
“Alright, send up the next pair,” Gina croons. Jimin detaches himself from you, suddenly leaving you cold. You turn to follow him, but stop as Gina places a hand on your arm.
“Yes?” You ask, struggling to keep your tone even. Gina motions for Jimin to keep going, pulling you back to the scrapbook. She tilts her head to one side.
“Forgive me for maybe overstepping a boundary but...” she motions toward the ladder, where everyone waits below. “Don’t tell me you’re flirting with all of them.”
Your eyes widen, and a breathy laugh comes out. “Me? What? N-no. They’re my best friends, why would I-”
Gina laughs, the sound too loud for the small attic. “Well, they’re flirting with you.” She playfully elbows me. “Speaking from girl to girl...enjoy it. For the rest of us.”
Nearly choking, you frown but nod all the same. “...ok?” When she makes no move to say anything else, you head down the ladder. The boys look up at me with confused looks, Jimin waiting at the bottom to make sure you get down safely.
“What was that about?” Jin asks, looking a little nervous. “She didn’t say anything to make you uncomfortable, did she?”
You blink at him, wondering for a moment if the boys have always been like this around you. Surely not. It’s just the haunted house bringing out this protective side, right?
Right?
“No, she just wanted to show me something else. She’s actually really nice.” You think.
The other groups go up, and nothing else happens to pique your interest. Gina comes down last of all, giving you a wink before walking down the hallway.
“I think we’re ready to go down to the basement, everyone!”
Somehow you end up at the front, surrounded on all sides by the maknae line. You crane your neck, looking back to see the older boys all lost in a heated discussion. Hobi catches your eye after a moment, elbowing Namjoon who looks up at you with fake innocence.
You frown, Gina’s words coming back to you. “They’re flirting with you.”
You must have lost your mind. Was the haunted house really that traumatizing as to make you start coming up with such ridiculous things? How silly of you.
The feeling of a hand resting on the small of your back has you yelping, jumping to face forward again. Taehyung gives you a sheepish grin.
“Sorry,” he mumbles, gently pushing you forward to stand in front of him. “Are you really that spooked?”
“I...no.” You fail to come up with a complete sentence, but shrug it off. Taehyung smiles brightly at you, gesturing for you to head down the stairs.
“You seem distracted tonight, are you alright?”
The way your heart had begun palpitating calms down as you notice the obvious concern on Taehyung’s face. You give him a small smile, allowing yourself to relish the feeling of his fingers splayed against your back as you move down the stairs.
“I’m fine, don’t worry. Just distracted by the story.”
Taehyung looks at you for a moment longer, not quite believing you but shrugging it off. He brings both hands to your shoulders as you enter the basement, an obvious chill in the air.
You fight off a shiver, Taehyung noticing and beginning to rub at your arms in an attempt to warm you up. Gina immediately notices the action, hiding a smile as she pretends to cough.
“Well,” she says once her ‘coughing fit’ subsides. “We’ve made it to the final leg of the tour. How’s it been so far?”
This time everyone cheers with renewed vigor, although a part of you has a hunch that it’s because Hobi knows he’s nearing the end of this scary experience. The thought makes you grin.
“Earlier, you guys asked me what was found in the sealed off room. It’s easier to show you, rather than explain.” Gina walks backward, motioning for everyone to follow her. It’s darker down here, only a few candles light the way. Despite being surrounded by people you trust, you can’t fight the fear that sneaks inside of you.
Rounding a corner, you see a small hallway with a half-open door. Jin curses behind you, clearly feeling just as freaked out as you.
“Remember how the estranged wife said she’d never leave this place?” Gina nods toward the door and dark entryway. “In that room there’s evidence that she may have had an...extended stay here. It’s very small, and the door only opens to a certain point. Almost as though whoever designed it didn’t want to have an easy escape point.”
Chills run down your spine, and even Taehyung’s ministrations pause for a moment as he takes in this new information.
Jungkook speaks up, ever the curious one. “Wait...her body isn’t still here, right?”
Gina shakes her head. “No, although we think that she may have been buried somewhere on the property. We have yet to find her, though.”
“That...” you shake your head, shuffling from foot to foot. “That sounds so ominous. Like she still walks the property or something.”
The smile Gina sends you is enough to make your blood run cold. “We haven’t ruled anything out.” She gestures toward the door. “Due to fire hazards, we can only have two people at a time in the hallway and in the room. Do I have any volunteers?”
Jungkook’s hand immediately shoots up in the air, and he looks at his hyungs pleadingly. You remain still as a statue, refusing to look up for fear of being called on.
You swear you can almost hear Taehyung sigh before he speaks. “Well, obviously you have to go.” He nudges you forward, and you whirl on him in absolute horror.
“What?!” You shout. “How could you betray me like this?! I- no way!”
The boys can’t help but laugh at you, Namjoon clapping Taehyung on the shoulder. Taehyung gives you an apologetic look, shrugging.
“C’mon, I’ll keep you safe,” Jungkook promises, his big pleading eyes on yours.
You hate how you can never say no to him.
Gina pats your shoulder as you walk past, laughing lightly. “Have fun,” she croons. “Ok everyone, let’s go into the open area just around the corner-”
“You’re leaving us?!” You shout again, stopping in your tracks. “Noooo, no no. Not happening.”
“Jungkook will take care of you,” Yoongi says over his shoulder. “Or do you not trust him?”
Jungkook pauses, looking at you with those big brown eyes. “You don’t trust me?”
Yoongi chuckles darkly before leaving the hallway, and you know he’s aware of what he did. You’ll have to make him pay for it later.
Possibly in the form of food.
“No, I do Kook,” you sigh. He extends his hand out to you, waiting patiently.
You take it a little too quickly.
Gina was right, the door only opens to a certain point, leaving you no choice but to shimmy through. Jungkook inspects the entire area, pointing out what looks to be scratches on the doorframe. You shiver.
“It’s not real,” he reassures you, keeping his hand in yours as he shimmies into the room. You hesitate for a moment, daring to glance at where your hands are connected before following after him.
It’s nearly pitch black in the room, hardly allowing for you to see anything. “Can you even see anything?”
Jungkook laughs, squeezing your hand. “Nope. I think we’ll have to wait for our eyes to adjust. You good?”
You squeeze back. “Yeah, I think-”
The door is shut.
The door is shut.
Suddenly delved into complete darkness, your breath hitches in your throat. “Jungkook,” you whimper. “Jungkook, I’m scared-”
“Shhh,” Jungkook hushes you, pulling you closer until you bump into his chest. “You’re fine. They’re just pulling a prank on us.”
Without thinking anything other than, I’m too young to die, you instinctively wrap your arms around his waist, burrowing your head against his chest as he chuckles.
“I can’t die, Jungkook,” you mumble into his chest. “I’m too young. I have so much to do. I have a test this week to take, and I’ve studied so hard for it, I have to take it. That’d be so stupid to die before taking that dumb test. And I have to yell at Yoongi or something, I don’t know-”
Jungkook’s giddy laughter pulls you out of your daze, and if you weren’t so scared you would be glaring at him. He laces his fingers behind your back, pulling you impossibly closer.
“You’re so cute,” he whispers into the dark, making every last thought eddy out of your brain. “Have I ever told you that before?”
Finding just enough willpower to move, you shake your head. Jungkook harrumphs above you, the sound almost pulling a giggle from you. Then you remember the situation you’re currently in.
Jungkook sighs. “Well, you are. That, and a lot of other things. Would you like me to tell you what else I think you are?”
Hands bunching in the fabric of his clothes, you find your voice. “...yes.”
Jungkook takes a deep breath. “Scary smart. It’s horrifying.” A chuckle bubbles up from your chest. “And inclusive. That’s so underrated these days, you know? But you’re always making sure everyone is involved and enjoying themselves.”
You can tell that he’s holding his breath from the way his chest has stopped moving, and you’re about to ask him if he’s alright when he hesitantly runs his fingers through your hair.
If that wasn’t enough to send you over the edge, he lets out a shaky breath before continuing on. “I’m sorry I haven’t told you those things before.”
You manage a laugh. “I’m sorry that it took us going on a haunted house tour for you to say it.”
Jungkook smiles down at you, your eyes finally adjusted to the dim room. He stares at you for a long moment, and you wonder if he’s going to kiss you.
You wonder if you’d let him.
He must see the question in your eyes, but he gives you a knowing look before heading toward the door, making sure your hand is in his.
“You don’t have to worry about that,” he says, testing the door and giggling at your sigh of relief when the door is unlocked.
“Worry about what?” You feign ignorance. Jungkook sees right through your, tugging you along as you head out the door.
He shrugs, suddenly unable to look you in the eyes as pink no doubt paints his cheeks. “You know...overstepping any boundaries.” He looks down at his feet. “Making a move.”
“Why?” The question comes out before you can stop it, and you inwardly curse yourself. Jungkook smiles softly at your inquiry.
The sound of everyone chatting makes you almost want to cry with relief. They must be just around the corner, waiting for you to return.
Jungkook leans over, whispering to you. “Because we have a pact.”
You turn to question him further, eyes wide. He anticipates this, taking long strides until you find yourselves back in the open area with everyone else.
“We’re back!” Jungkook announces, shooting you a smirk. You can’t help but stare at him, mouth slightly agape.
A pact?
Gina smiles broadly. “How was the room? Did you find anything interesting?”
You shake your head, trying and failing to stop yourself from overanalyzing every glance the boys give you. “...no. I was too freaked out to even look around after the door closed on us.”
“Yeah, who did that? We didn’t even hear you guys,” Jungkook asks.
Everyone looks at the two of you before looking at Gina, clearly just as confused.
Gina, on the other hand, looks absolutely terrified.
“Ummm...” she begins, rubbing her arms in an effort to warm herself up. “Remember how I said that we haven’t ever found the body of the estranged wife?”
You nod your head but stop, the words sinking in. The hairs on the back of your neck rise up, and you find yourself shuffling over to stand next to Jin, clinging to his arm.
“Yeah...” Namjoon says, eyes darting around the room.
Gina sighs. “Alright, everyone, single file line. Head out as quickly and quietly as possible.”
You don’t need to be told twice.

Imagine being Azula’s favourite friend who she recruits first. The two of you have always had an unspoken attraction which neither of you were brave enough to acknoweldge...until you save her life and Azula decides to reward you
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Background
You and Azula attended the academy together and had initially started as rivals. You were an above-average fire bender and because she didn’t know you Azula saw that as a threat. So she made it her mission to ruin your life when one day she found you arguing with Zuko. You didn’t hesitate to yell at him or point out his faults and from that moment on Azula knew she’d misjudged you. Azula be-friended you and you became a part of her group. Over time you became her favourite. She trusted you and could feel your loyalty to her, which was something she grew to respect more and more as Mai was compromised by Zuko and Ty lee became even more whimsical. You soon became inseparable and as the friendship grew it began to feel like more...you realised you liked Azula as more than a friend. You enjoyed every second you spent together and thought she felt the same. The tension between you grew and although Azula would grow flustered around you when you flirted with her she never reciprocated your feelings openly. You were heartbroken but understood that falling for the princess of the fire nation hadn’t been a very smart decision on your part. So needing some space to mend as soon as you graduated from the academy you joined the army. It hurt to be around Azula every day and to know you could be something great together if only your nation was more progressive. So you ran away from the situation and didn’t see Azula for years. You managed to stop thinking about her constantly after a few weeks and soon your heart didn’t feel as broken anymore...but you knew deep down you still cared about her. The princess would always be your first love.
Your POV
The army was tougher than the fire nation academy for many reasons. For one your name, reputation and grades didn’t matter once you passed through the doors. They didn’t care if you'd sparred with the best fire benders or got the highest grades in combat skills for ten years, you were reduced to a number and treated as one. You hated every second of it but the alternative was to return to your family and you’d take anything over that so you stuck it out.
One day all the recruits were ordered to wear their best clothes and report to the large training hall which could only mean one thing. Someone wanted to buy troops. High ranking generals or rich businessmen could hire trainees for missions or any jobs they needed completing. The buyer could choose who they wanted after watching you all in training and you would then decide if to accept or not. You took every opportunity you could and so stared straight ahead for inspection, trying your best to look hirable when a voice broke your resolve. "I’m looking for something in particular" Azula told your trainer and you only just managed to keep your head forward but a small smirk broke out on your face. Azula spotted you and walked down the line slowly before stopping in front of you. "Well, well who do we have here?" she asked. You looked up at her and matched her smile "long time no see huh?". Your trainer was horrified at the way you addressed the princess and rushed to yell at you when Azula cut him off with a laugh. She took your arm and you hugged her tightly. Your stomach exploded in butterflies and you clutched her tightly, you’d missed Azula dearly. "Your highness i don’t know what...i’m sorry for this one’s behaviour" the trainer started obliviously and Azula rolled her eyes "are they all as dumb as you? Obviously i know y/n". You smirked and Azula was spurred on by that beautiful expression she’d missed. "You really have no idea who she is?" Azula asked laughing "this is y/n l/n, her father is friends with my father and she is a personal friend to the royal family. To hear you haven’t treated her appropriately is very displeasing" Azula frowned and you smiled as your usually cruel and horrible trainer shook. "I’m sorry we had no idea who she was! We will treat her better, promote her actually" he babbled. "No that won’t do" Azula said "and that wont be necessary, y/n will be leaving with me for a job and won’t be coming back here". The guard hesitated "i...you can’t just take a recruit". "I’m not but i could" Azula growled "i think you’ll find it’s more y/n quits". "She can’t quit" the guard replied “she made an oath” and Azula raised an eyebrow in response "are you tell me what i can do? Are you telling a noblewoman what she can do? Any debt she owes you will be wiped by my command, understand?" Azula barked. The trainer paled but nodded "yes princess" and bowed his head. "Good" Azula nodded and she strode with you right out of the front doors.
Azula brought you to the lodgings she was staying at in the nearest town and you were amused to see it had been given the royal treatment. Red everywhere, freshly polished surfaces as far as the eye could see, gold and silver decorations lay on every available service and of course a large portrait of the fire lord hung on the wall. Over a lavish dinner Azula told you the mission making you realise you’d accepted and left the army without even asking for any details. You were fine with hunting the avatar and Zuko with Mai and Ty lee but you also recognised you would’ve accepted almost any mission Azula gave you because you’d been so happy to see her. Azula had always had this effect on you and time apart hadn’t done anything to lessen that. You were as much in love with her now as you were the day you left two years ago.
After dinner Azula led you to your shared apartment, it contained two bedrooms with ensuites and a large living room which you were pleased to see and you sunk into the sofa happily. "Your hair’s shorter" Azula commented suddenly and you nodded touching it self consciously "yeah it was a target in sparring". Azula scoffed "seriously? Don’t they teach the other recruits proper fire bending moves as opposed to childish tricks?". You shrugged "they told us to win by any means. That it doesn’t have to look good so long as you win". Azula laughed again "amateurs all of them! Of course it should look good". You smirked "well when it comes so easy to you" and glanced over her. Azula shrugged but had a large smile on her face "well I suppose I have been blessed in that aspect". You laughed again and smiled "this is nice". Azula smiled too "it is" and you locked eyes for several seconds before she looked away slowly. Azula stood up abruptly "we should get some sleep we’re moving on foot tomorrow to go get Ty lee and then Mai". You were excited at the thought of seeing your old friends and grinned "great! Also don’t think i didn’t notice you came for me first" you called as Azula made her way towards her room. She halted and you smirked "I always knew i was your favourite but really Azula to make it so obvious" you grinned and Azula paused. You walked to your own room and Azula finally responded "i always made it obvious you’re my favourite, it’s nothing new" and went into her room.
You stepped into your own room and leant back against the closed door blushing vividly from the encounter with Azula. You’d spent all your time in the army trying to convince yourself your relationship with Azula was purely platonic. That the fact your heart sped up whenever you thought of her or how you dreamt of her often was just because you were close friends. You managed to convince yourself you weren’t in love with Azula and that she didn’t feel anything for you either but less than a day with her and you knew that was a lie. You couldn’t deny the way she made you feel and how she smiled at you in a way she never did with anyone else...as much as it made you nervous your realisation also excited you. You couldn’t wait to be around Azula again and felt a happy glow spread over you. You settled in your bed, a smile still on your face and burrowed into the exquisite cushions. You expected to fall to sleep easily but a while later you were still awake. You frowned confused as to why. You were happy, you were with Azula and the bed was comfy so why couldn’t you sleep? You figured maybe the bed was too soft compared to what you were used to in the army so went into the living room to try the sofa. You laid down and realised this was better, more like the beds back at the military. You had just closed your eyes when Azula’s door opened. "Trouble sleeping?" she asked and you nodded "i think the bed’s too comfy". Azula laughed "i thought the opposite, really y/n your taste has worsened in our time apart". You shrugged "it’s better than what i’ve been sleeping on for the last 9 months". Azula lay down on the sofa next to you and you looked at her. You didn’t ask why after finding her own bed soooo uncomfortable she came to lay on a sofa barely a foot from where you were and just enjoyed the silence. “So, anything else i missed you didn’t put in your letters?” you asked. Azula hadn’t written to you much at the academy and honestly that had been a good thing. You’d have just missed her more than you already had but she did send brief updates once a month. Azula nodded "probably tons, i couldn’t write often". You didn’t point out she wrote to you on the first of each month religiously instead you turned on your side to look at her. Mai and Ty lee had also written to you but you’d noticed compared to their letters and the changes in their lives Azula’s had been...well boring. You felt almost sorry for her, you’d all moved away to different things but Azula had been stuck at home with a father who was cruel, the ghost of a cold mother and the memory of a banished brother. Azula quickly discussed some events that had happened and then also turned on her side to face you. "What about you then? How was military life really?". You shrugged "not as i expected". "I knew that job would be awful" Azula commented "why did you stay so long then?". You sighed "well i liked some parts of it, the physical training was similar to what we did in the academy which i liked, the mental tests were better, they made me use all my brain". "That’s a first" Azula chimed in and you rolled your eyes "i liked those parts of it...could’ve done without the abuse from the trainers, food restrictions and ban on leaving". Azula raised an eyebrow "remember what i always told you y/n no self-pity, you could’ve left at any time. You chose not to". You thought Azula sounded a bit angry when she said that but you shrugged "i could but that would have meant going back home not coming back to the capital and I’d rather fight all the trainers at once than that" you said through gritted teeth and Azula saw you’d tensed. She recalled you never got along with your family but she hadn’t realised they were part of the reason you’d taken such an awful job so soon after graduation. "They hated my move to the capital and said if i failed at all they’d have me back and married, i had one shot to escape them, there’s no way i’d give it away because i didn’t actually like what i’d chosen". Azula didn’t comment she just watched you conflicted, she hated self pity and weakness but you were so like her, she’d have done the exact same thing in your position. "But you did leave" Azula commented “you left to come with me” and you looked down "i did...". Azula saw the way your face changed, filling with worry and she actually felt slightly guilty. You’d left instinctively for her when she asked, no matter what it might mean for you in the long term. You did all that for her and it proved to her again why you were her closest ally.
Azula laughed and you looked at her confused "y/n do you really think i’d make you give up your job for a small mission?". You frowned "what?". "Your parents won’t be angry because this a much better job, you’ll be paid more and you’re working with me" Azula said pointedly. "They can’t say anything against that, as long as you’re with me they can’t touch you" she smiled and you grinned at Azula "you’d vouch for me?". Azula nodded "of course, i want you with me and that’s what i’ll get, i don’t care who your family are they’re not taking you anywhere ever". You were equally touched and shocked "ever?". Azula nodded "well obviously you might not be here forever but they’re never taking you back to tie you to a marriage, i’ll just keep coming up with excuses to keep you in my company until you’re too old and then they’ll have to leave you alone with me" Azula explained and you smiled "sounds perfect".
Azula laughed and met your eye, seeing how intensely you looked at her gave her chills. Azula had missed you greatly in the capital but honestly she’d let you leave without a fight. She sensed a growing attraction and longing for you which she knew had to stop. So she let you go figuring some distance would be good but as soon as she needed allies the first face in her mind was yours. The second she saw you she knew she’d made the right choice but she also felt the attraction just as suddenly. Laying here staring at you made it more apparent than ever and it scared Azula. She blushed and turned away from you, facing the back of the sofa "try and sleep" she commanded "we'll be up early".
You didn’t comment on how much Azula was blushing or how she’d chosen to sleep out here with you. You just smiled and closed your eyes basking in the feeling of all she’d said and the safety of her. “Good night Princess” you whispered and you fell asleep almost instantly.
The next day you reunited with Ty lee and then Mai. Ty lee had launched herself at both you and Azula when she saw you and the same occurred for Mai. Mai grunted and hugged Ty lee begrudgingly. "I thought you ran away to the circus?" Mai asked Ty lee and she nodded "i did but y/n and Azula showed up and well they called louder than the universe" Ty lee smiled. "Wait y/n and Azula, isn’t the circus closer to the capital than the military?" Mai asked looking from you to Azula. "Yeah so?" you said confused and Mai shrugged "nothing just seems like it’d make sense to go to the circus first then military but hey i’m sure Azula had her reasons for coming to get you first" Mai smirked slightly. You didn’t look at Azula but Mai and Ty lee exchanged a look at the matching blushes you were both sporting, some things never change. Azula recovered first and pretended Mai hadn’t said anything about the two of you and began explaining her plan. You joined in after a few seconds of recovery but still felt giddy at Mai’s words.
Throughout your trip you and Azula grew closer and closer just like you’d done at the academy. Although neither of you spoke about it you felt drawn to one another and Azula acted differently around you. She sought you out more than the others, always kept the closest proximity to you and paired Mai and Ty lee and you with herself whenever you had to split into teams. As you fell into old habits all the past feelings came back and you began to worry at all the dangerous situations Azula was putting herself in just to please her father. She’d infiltrated Ba Sing Sei without any backup besides you, Ty lee and Mai which terrified you. Of course her plan worked but still you were so grateful Azula had been unharmed and managed to take over the whole city without any mishaps. You hoped it’d be smooth sailing from there but of course she wanted her brother and the avatar too. You did exactly what she said to try and help her but you couldn’t escape the feeling something would go wrong. Azula had left to go and face the avatar all alone apart from her dai lee agents and you couldn’t get her out of your head. Azula had put you in charge of making sure the earth king and his bear were looked after but you wanted to ensure she was okay so left it to Ty lee and Mai. You followed the secret passage you’d seen Azula take and found your way into a massive cavern filled with people. You spotted Azula fighting the avatar and saw her shoot him with a lightning bolt. He fell to the floor and you gaped at the fact Azula had likely just killed the avatar. The water bender with the avatar then went into a rage and flew through the air using a massive wave to catch him. Azula smirked ready to engage with her and you saw Zuko standing beside her. You were surprised to see Zuko beside her, never thinking she’d actually manage to get Zuko on her side but of course she was a master at manipulation. You smiled at all she’d achieved when you noticed Azula’s uncle Iroh was approaching them. He had flames in his hands and was looking right at Azula who was fixed on the water bender. You gasped at Iroh’s intentions and how nobody was aware of what was going on behind them. You broke out into a run and leapt down the cliff as quick as you could. You were getting closer but you still weren’t close enough. Iroh raised his hands and you went into panic mode. “Stop” you yelled and threw your own fire as Iroh released his own. Your strike managed to hit his off course and it hit a rock beside Azula. Azula and Zuko both jumped and Iroh turned to you. You were now stood blocking his path to Azula and you sensed he still wanted to take her down. You anticipated his attack and blocked it instinctively before firing back your own. Iroh was much stronger than you so you were heavily outmatched when suddenly two flames burst onto the scene. Azula sprang in front and began attacking her uncle savagely while Zuko helped. You were again slightly surprised by Zuko but quickly joined in. With three on one even the dragon of the west couldn’t last long and with a final hit from Azula he fell to the floor. “Seize him and throw him in a cage” Azula spat and walked past him to you. “I thought I told you to wait upstairs” she said fixing her intense gaze on you and you shrugged “I wanted to help and I think it’s a good job I did”. Azula shot you a look at your boldness but you could tell she was more amused than annoyed. “You appear to be correct” she replied curtly before walking past you. You smiled after Azula, admiring how happy she looked and why wouldn’t she? She’d taken over Ba Sing Sei, possibly killed the avatar, brought down her uncle and convinced Zuko to ally with her, all in all it had been an excellent day and Azula had proved herself a force to be reckoned with. You began following her when you saw the guards walking Iroh in the opposite direction. You were going to look away when you noticed he was still staring at Azula. You could feel his anger and knew what his intentions were, he meant to finish the job. In the blink of an eye Iroh burst out of his restraints, threw his guards to the side and took a stance. “Azula get down” you yelled sensing the electricity in the air but he had an excellent shot at her and she had nowhere to go. Instinctively you threw yourself into the path of the lightning.
Azula also responded instinctively. She conjured her own lightning to meet her uncle’s when she saw you running into the fight, You tried to raise a wall of fire but there wasn’t time, you got hit by the bolt and collapsed. Azula only just managed to direct her own bolt away from you and felt her heart beating rapidly. As the smoke cleared Azula saw your body on the floor rage consumed her. She conjured a huge amount of electricity and sent it all at her uncle. He tried to block it but Azula’s bolt sliced through his defences hitting him square in the chest. Azula didn’t even check to see if her bolt had met its mark, she knew it had so rushed to your side. “Y/n” she yelled and she knelt beside you staring at the smoke coming off your back where the bolt had hit you. Your uniform was partially melted and Azula could smell the burning flesh strongly. "I need water” Azula yelled grabbing you and trying to feel for a pulse. She felt one and felt her own breathing somewhat stabilise too. "Now" Azula yelled and people rushed forwards. Azula poured the water over you "it’s okay" she told as you winced as she poured more. "We need to get her into the pool" she called "someone help me get her to the water". Zuko appeared and helped Azula carry you to a fountain. You were semi-conscious which made Azula hurry even quicker, she wanted to reduce your pain as soon as possible. Azula climbed into the fountain first and told Zuko to pass you to her. She took you carefully and laid you on your back floating. Your eyes closed as you passed out and Zuko called for a doctor. Azula clutched your by your arms keeping you close to her in the water "you will not die y/n" she snarled "you will be fine do you hear me?". You didn’t respond.
Later
You woke up face down on something soft and tried to move your face away from it when shooting pains erupted along your spine. You felt like your back was cracking open and groaned loudly. "Careful y/n" you heard someone say and saw it was Ty Lee. "Ty lee? What happened?". "You got burnt" she explained "on your back..luckily Azula cooled you in time to stop any long-term damage but it’s still really sore so be careful". You reached for your back and flinched at the slightest touch of it. "Stop" Ty lee told you "Azula said i’m to watch you and make sure you rest, apply more soothing cream on it every three hours and just basically always make sure you're okay!" she told you cheerfully. You shook your head "Ty lee i’m fine you don’t have to sit guard over me" you tried to sit up and went pale from the pain. "Don’t do that" Ty lee cried rushing to your side "if you want to get up i can pile some pillows in front of you for you to lean on. I don’t think you can sit up for a while". You pouted annoyed but asked Ty lee to bring you said pillows and managed to pull yourself up onto your elbows "so what happened? Tell me everything". "Well thanks to you we managed to stop Iroh escaping and hurting Azula, we took Ba Sing Sei and the avatar is dead". "Wow" you said surprised "That is... a lot". Ty lee nodded “Ow and Zuko’s back on our side". You nodded and smiled "I bet Mai is happy". Ty lee grinned too "she is i haven’t seen her since we started for home". "We’re on our way back?" you asked and Ty lee nodded "yes but Azula said me, you and Mai are to stay with her even after we arrive back in the capital, she said she still has a need for us". You smiled laying your head down blushing slightly, Azula had kept her promise, she wasn’t letting you go. You sighed happily and Ty lee smiled "y/n?". "I’m just glad to be going back" you smiled "i think we'll have lots of fun". You had been dozing when the sounds of the door made you jolt awake sending shooting pains down your back. You winced but prepared yourself for an attack until you saw her. Azula raised her hands as she saw you jump and she smiled "just me". You relaxed "Azula, sorry i was asleep". "Don’t apologise you need to rest after what happened, i just wanted to come check on you. We'll be in the fire nation in a few hours". "That’s good news" you smiled and Azula nodded "how does the back feel? Ty lee says you’re doing as well as can be expected" Azula’s eyes drifted to your back and you froze. You were now very aware you were laid on your front with only a blanket covering your bare torso from Azula’s eye. Azula stepped closer and you rushed to explain and stop her inspecting you. "I’m fine" you told her "the burns aren’t too bad, they hardly hurt at all". Azula raised an eyebrow "then you won’t mind me having a look?" and stepped beside you. She reached for the blanket and you grabbed her hand with an uncomfortable strain "wait, i lied...i don’t want you to see it, Ty lee says it looks bad. It’s in the blistering stage and yes it hurts but everything has already been done for it and me so you don’t need to see it or check on me". Azula titled her head to one side as you couldn’t meet her eye and she sighed sitting on the floor beside your bed. "It will scar but unlike Zuko you can wear yours with pride" Azula said forcefully and you looked up at her shocked "with time i’m sure it will simply resemble a tattoo" Azula explained. You turned on your side to look at her, something you’d practised with Ty lee and could now manage. "Ty lee told me you did as much for me as you could...i can’t really remember it but..". "Do you remember jumping into the path of lightning for me?" Azula said "without protecting yourself or even any concrete attempt to do so, and what for?". You sighed thinking Azula was angry at you "i...i know it was reckless and stupid, it went against everything we were taught at the academy but I don’t know Azula, i did it without even thinking. I saw it heading for you and you weren’t ready! It would hit you and i just did it without hesitation, i know it seems stupid and emotional but i don’t regret it Azula i’d do it again" you told her sighing, feeling she wouldn’t understand. "I know that might sound stupid...why i’d do that for you but Azula i..." you started as Azula cut you off "y/n". Azula gently raised your head with a hand helping you to look at her. You were confused by Azula’s gaze, it was soft but at the same time intense, you couldn’t recognise the emotion, was she angry? Happy? Excited? Apparently it was somewhere in the middle. Azula leant down to you, hand on your cheek as she ghosted her lips over yours. You felt a sensation like water being thrown over you as Azula kissed you softly and quickly before pulling back "i don’t completely get it but i understand" she smiled blushing softly "i think I can imagine why you did it" she said looking away from you "thank you for saving me". You were speechless, Azula was thanking you? Azula understood why you did it? Did that mean she liked you too? She’d just kissed you so of course she did! Or was that what she thought you wanted? Azula had been used all her life, did she simply think you did this in order to make gains with her?
Azula smiled slightly to see your brain short-circuiting at her actions and stood up. "i just wanted to make sure you were okay so now I know you are i’ll let you go back to sleep. I’ll wake you when we’re there". You nodded still confused and watched Azula walked away. You weren’t sure what had just happened but you knew you had to make Azula realise you didn’t do this just to use her. "Azula" you said suddenly "is that...what you just did...if that was my reward or what you think i wanted from you after today...i didn’t save you because i was expecting a reward or anything from you so what i’m saying is you don’t have to compensate me if you don’t want to. I didn’t do it for any reason other than to keep you safe".
Azula blushed suddenly and felt her emotions swirling, she realised she was happy. To hear you express openly your desire for her safety filled her with excitement and she realised nobody had ever cared for her before like you did. Azula nodded slowly "that is welcomed news y/n" she smiled "but i didn’t reward you like that as a forced compensation either" she told you "although my intentions were personal and selfish i suppose”.
You smirked slightly and nodded "good...i mean fine with me". Azula nodded "i’m glad we understand each other, good night y/n". "Good night princess Azula" you said savouring the words and Azula’s eye twitched but she maintained her calm expression and bowed leaving. You lay back giggling as realisation (and the medication you were on for the pain) set in. Azula had kissed you and told you she didn’t do it because she thought she had to but because she wanted to! For selfish reasons!!! You wrapped yourself in your blankets and didn’t stop smiling even in your sleep.
____
Is it just me who loves the idea of being in a secret relationship with the princess of the fire nation? I feel like Azula would excel at sneaking around the palace and would like rebelling against Ozai for once

WE'LL BE OKAY - NAT.
summary : nat and you never got along. reasons still unknown, but it was affecting the whole team. steve assigns you both to a mission, with natasha acting harshly. she said something to you before heading off. she got in your head and the aftermath wasn't so pretty.
contents : angst (??) / fluff
warnings : mentions of blood, guns, bullying, cursing and just occasional marvel fight scenes.
NOT PROOFREAD. a/n : my first fic aaaahhh !! i was inspired by a lot of similar fics like this, but mostly by this WANDA FIC WRITTEN BY @/maximons - i suggest you give it a read BCS ITS SO GOOD ARRGH <3
Tumblr media
you don’t know how the feud started between you and natasha. you couldn’t tell if it was because of your age or because you were new.
you had quite an age gap with the former assassin, being a striking 24 years old, but according to the russian - you might as well have been 12 years of age.
unlike most of the avengers, you had a decent childhood. it wasn’t filled with trauma, and death, and basically what some of them unfortunately went through. you grew up in the suburbs with your mum and two older siblings. you got all the toys you wanted and everyone loved you! because of that, you were always polite and cheery - it’s what made people like you. you were funny and usually managed to put a smile on people faces ; usually.
natasha found your positivity irking and unnatural. how could someone be so, happy? she felt as if you were shitting rainbows down her throat, and god, did she hate it. how could someone like you even have the guts to be an avenger?
she enjoyed picking fights with you out of nowhere, and as fun as it was at first - the hostility only progressed and became a disruption to the whole team, including you. you tried your best to really become friends with natasha - or at least be civil with her. but the more effort you made, the worse she treated you. all you wanted to do was make it a little easier for the team, you all have enough crap to put up with and the quarreling between the both of you was definitely not needed.
─── donk.
“nat! y/n! conference room one, now!” steve’s loud voice called out through the speakers placed throughout the compound.
you set your book aside before running down to the conference room as you were told. you walked passed natasha, already giving you a sharp glare from afar. she adjusted her speed and basically ran to where away from you. you couldn’t help but roll your eyes at her as you trailed behind.
you entered the room, greeting everyone politely before sitting down next to wanda, who saved a space for you.
“alright, now that we’re all here..” cap began, walking around the table where you were all sat. “we’ve got a mission for two of you,”
“did you call us here to compete for it? because i am so getting this mission.” natasha stated, pointing at everyone as if she was threatening them. “uh, no.. not exactly. we’ve already assigned the mission to two of you..”
“who?” she asked, wanting to leave the compound immediately and get some action (not the peepee way).
“you and y/n,”
hearing your name, you just froze. you couldn’t help but stare at steve as if he was out of his mind.
“what?!” natasha squeaked. “i’m sorry, but there is no way i’m going with her. it’s probably best if i go on my own!”
“that’s just mean..” you replied quietly, in your seat. you weren’t in the mood to argue, so you tried to contribute as little as possible into this conversation. “cap, if natasha doesn’t want to do the mission with me, i’m totally fine with sitting this one out.”
“oh, don’t suck up and use your y/n reverse psychology on this. it’s not gonna work,” she spat, obviously mad about the whole situation. “nat, i’m being serious. i know how much you’ve been dying to go out, so please. just take it.”
“no, y/n, you’re going with nat. we’ve decided this already.” steve stepped in, trying his best to set his foot down. “steve, i think you know this isn’t going to happen.” natasha glared.
“you either go together or y/n takes someone else.”
“steve! i swear i’m fine!” you argued, seeing how natasha’s ears were practically steaming from anger. “i-”
“no, you know what? fine. enjoy your mission, y/l/n.” she growled as she stormed out of the room. you couldn’t do anything but watch as she slammed the door shut. as much as you wanted to chase after her, you and everyone else in the room knew you’d probably make the situation a thousand times worse for natasha. you sighed and slammed your head on the table in exhaustion.
“we’re sorry, y/n. we thought her need for a mission would make her say yes even with the partnership.” bucky said from the other side of the room. your head shot up almost as quickly as you blinked. “what do you mean?”
“we thought sending you two on a mission together could… make the arguing stop - even by a little.” steve explained, sighing. you laughed at them, did they really think that would work? did they know the obstacles you went through to try to get on her good side? your first few weeks were HELL because of it.
“it’s alright.. clint? what do ya say?”
“always up for a mission, y/l/n.” he smiled, giving you a fistbump.
─── donk.
clint knocked on natasha’s door after the meeting. “nat? it’s me,” he called, nat opening the door a few seconds after.
“can you believe them? they know how much i dislike her and they’d send me on a mission with her? Bozhe mo! (oh my god!)”
“nat, y/n is awesome. it’s been months, it’s getting tiring.”
“oh, please. it took forever to get any of you guys to trust me. doesn’t mean it has to be the same with her.”
“nat, she’s a kid!”
“ugh, don’t say it like that. it makes my thoughts uneasy..” nat replied, mock-gagging. clint glared at her as he playfully shoved her. “you’re so stupid.”
“and oh, i’m going on the mission with her.”
“wait what?! but you’re my best friend, why would you take it!” she exclaimed. “i never say no to a mission, nat. you and i both know that. i thought you did, too.”
“i would’ve taken it, but.. no! i’m not losing this fight.” she huffed as she fell on the bed. “turn the tv on, i need to distract myself.”
he did as he was told and decided to stay and watch with her until dinner.
─── donk.
it was the day of your mission and you were making your way to the hangar. to your surprise, you saw natasha waiting there. you smiled at her only to receive another sharp glare. yeah, what a surprise. you looked away and decided to wait for clint.
not long after he arrived and said his goodbyes to natasha, just as you were going to aboard the ship, she grabbed your wrist and whispered in your ear.
“you’re gonna trip and get yourself shot, y/l/n.”
“what the hell? i’ve barely left and you’re already telling me i’m gonna fuck up?” you retorted, angrily. you weren’t in the right state to panic or stress. especially not before you were leaving. “have fun, y/n.” she smiled, dripping in faux kindness.
you followed clint onto the ship and couldn’t help but shake in fear. great, now you were worried. you didn’t want to fuck up. you weren’t planning to.
“you’ll be okay, y/l/n. i’ve got your back.” clint reassured, seeing the panic clouding on your face.
“thank you..” you mumbled, but natasha’s words never left your head.
─── donk.
“something seems off, clint.” you whispered, looking around and keeping your guard up. “i agree, y/l/n. it’s too quiet.. too easy.” he replied.
just as you were going to reply, someone charged at you from behind, getting a hold of your throat. by instinct, you kicked his shin and flipped him around. “clint!” you called out as you knocked your attacker out.
suddenly, groups of people were coming towards you - fully armed. “clint!” you screamed, pulling your gun out and shooting as many of them as you could. “shit!”
“y/n, it’s a trap!” clint finally replied, making you roll your eyes as you threw your fist at a guy’s temple. “yes, clint, i’m aware!”
“keep your guard up, y/l/n. you can do this!”
“there’s-” kick. “too many-” elbow. “of them!” shoot.
“try to hold out for as long as possible! i’m on my way,”
you looked up to see more men charging at you. “ah fuck,”
you grabbed one of the guns from the guys you managed to knock out and aimed. “clint, i can shoot right?” you asked for permission, not knowing if you were supposed to kill them or just simply knock them out.
“yes, y/n. you can shoot.”
“thank you!”
you silently thanked god for the gun you chose and started shooting at the guards. you quickly threw it away as they ran out of bullets and grabbed two pistols and continued to run and shoot away.
as you focused on getting a certain guard, one of them slid under you, quite literally slipping you off your feet - probably making you twist your ankle, giving one of them an opportunity to get a clean shot of your thigh.
the bullet went through your thigh, making you scream in pain. “fuck!” you shot back at him immediately and slid up onto the wall.
well great, another thing natasha was right about.
“y/n?!” clint called, hearing you scream. the worry in his voice was evident, it managed to make you smile for a second until you dodged another bullet.
“i’m okay!”
no, you weren’t. you could barely stand with your fucked up ankle and the hole in your thigh, but you continued to shoot and fight.
“just.. hurry up, please!”
you used your bad leg to kick a guy down and use him as a ledge. you cursed as you ran out of bullets. there were guns scattered across the floor, thanks to you. you just grabbed the nearest ones and looked back up.
as quickly as you did, a shot went through your shoulder and your abdomen. “gah fuck!” you collapsed on the floor as you tried to control the bleeding. you got up for a second to shoot back at the closest people and went back down. “clint, hurry up!” the pain was too much, the bleeding wouldn’t stop and your ankle looked like a fucking bean. you started to get nauseous, but tried your best to stay up.
“i’m here!” he yelled as he aimed at a few people in front of him. he ran towards you, finally seeing your state. “oh my god!” he kneeled down, putting pressure on your wounds to help with the bleeding, but the blood just kept seeping through “you just said you were okay, idiot!”
“i know, i didn’t want to worry you..” you mumbled. “no, no! y/n, you have to stay awake. come on!” he picked you up and started running away to go back to the ship. “you’re okay, y/n. tell me you’re okay right now.”
“i’m okay.. i’m okay, clint.”
“yeah, yeah, you are.”
you tried making it to the ship, but you were already so tired. “i’m gonna nap, clint..” you said before passing out.
─── donk.
clint alerted steve about you right when you passed out. they were rushing you out to the med bay to perform surgery on your injuries.
“she told me she was okay, steve. i thought she was okay!” clint screamed, he blamed himself for what happened to you. only if he arrived a few seconds before. you wouldn’t have been in the situation you’re in now.
“no, no. this isn’t your fault. neither is it hers, it happens, okay? we put ourselves at risk every time we step out of here. y/n was brave, alright?
wanda rushed down to the medbay, reaching for the door before pulling her back. “wanda, we have to let dr cho do her job right now. she’ll be okay.. y/n will be okay.”
she cried into steve’s shoulder - her best friend was being operated on. you were being operated on! the thought of you getting hurt never crossed her mind because she knew you were strong.
the team soon heard about the incident and let their worries out, obviously caring about you. natasha was confused about the whole hassle.
“vision!” she called out. he turned around and walked towards natasha. “how may i help you?”
“what’s the hassle about? everyone keeps whispering,”
“mr barton and ms y/l/n have returned from their mission, but ms y/l/n has suffered some major injuries and has been in surgery for about an hour now-”
hearing that, she sped to the medbay, thanking vision quickly. she saw wanda, steve and clint waiting around. “no, no, where is she?!” she yelled, making the three of them look at her in shock. “she’s still in-”
she tried running into the room like wanda did, getting pulled back by steve. “natasha, we have to let dr. cho do her job.”
“i need to see her!” she exclaimed, not being able to breathe. “what happened to her? what major injuries?!” she demanded.
“broken ankle, shot through her thigh, shoulder and abdomen..” clint recited, looking down at his feet. “where were you!? how could you let this happen?!” she roared, genuinely shocking them.
why did she suddenly care about you? well, yes, you suffered major injuries, but why was she getting mad?
“natasha! enough!” steve scolded. “this isn’t clint’s fault, and you know it.” he said, sternly. she didn’t reply as she panted. wanda held her hand as support, needing it for herself as well.
─── donk.
an hour later, dr. cho finally walked out of the room. everyone stood up in eagerness.
“is she okay?” steve asked, immediately.
“y/n suffered major blood loss, but we are lucky none of the three bullets hit any major arteries. she has also quite definitely broken her ankle, so i’m putting her on bedrest for at least 6 weeks until you get her up and going again.”
“main point, yes. y/n is okay.”
a smile broke out in all of their faces. “thank you, doc!”
“you may see her now, but she hasn’t woken up yet. don’t be too loud.”
they all walked into your room and stood beside your bed. “she looks so peaceful,”
“she definitely looks better right now than earlier,” clint joked, earning a soft laugh from the three of them. they stood by you for a while until natasha spoke up.
“um.. could- could i be the one who stays with her until she wakes up?”
they looked at the red head in surprise, “are you sure, nat?” steve asked.
“yeah.. i just want to be here.”
“alright,” they smiled softly at her before leaving.
she held your hand and stayed with you, waiting for you to wake up. it took for a while so she managed to fall asleep, holding your hand.
you slowly started coming back, groaning from the late pain you experienced. natasha jumped in shock and saw that you were awake.
“you’re awake!” she whispered, making you turn to her. “natasha? what’s happening?”
“you passed out during your mission. i know i told you you’d slip and get shot.. but i didn’t actually mean slip and get shot, idiot!” she scolded, flicking your forehead. “gah! it was an accident, i was doing fine,”
“no, you have three holes in your body. and not the good ones,”
“nat??” you replied, shocked. “did you just joke around with me?”
“no..”
“you’re holding my hand.. what did they bribe you with?” you asked, quickly getting suspicious. you tried pulling your hand away, but she only held onto you tighter. “nothing! i.. i volunteered. ask steve and wanda! and clint!” she replied, defending herself quickly.
“well, if you volunteered.. what do you want from me? i’m not gonna be leaving the compound for at least 2 months, so you can have all my missions-”
“no, y/n. truthfully, i just really want to apologize.”
“huh”
“i know i’ve made your first few weeks really hard and even after being here for months, i still managed to.. you know.. make it hard for you. in full honesty, i genuinely don’t know why i’ve been so horrible to you. i had a hard time opening up to people - and.. you were just so welcoming and i got scared. not an excuse for my actions, by the way! i was horrible and i’m so sorry.”
“thank you for your apology, i forgive you, nat.” you smiled, squeezing her hand. “i also.. have feelings for you.” natasha added, avoiding eye-contact with you. “you whAT?!”
“i-”
“i like you too! but are- are you serious?”
“yes, y/n… i like you. guess that’s why i was so defensive about.. literally everything.”
“nat.. thank you. for opening up to me. it genuinely means so much - especially after all this fucking time, you asshole.”
“are we okay now?” she asked, hopeful.
“yes, nat. we’re okay.”
