i want to write this fic that's like — cowboy bakugou, late 1800's style LOL
with him as a leeeeetle bit older, spent his life in cattle drives, wanted to be a marshal at some point, but his health and injuries from his younger days made it hard 🥺 he doesn't settle down, doesn't have any kids though he's in his mid-30's, and — one day he gets a letter that toshinori dies.
it's really supposed to be deku's responsibility, but only god knows where he is. probably got the news and can't accept it, too chicken-shit to face it. yeah, it tears katsuki up inside, too, but someone has to stick around in musutafu and help figure out his estate, the ranch.
help figure out you.
toshinori married in his late age, an ad he put out on the paper. bought you, as katsuki has always said, though the older man would always just smile wryly at the comment, look around at his extensive acreage, his horses and cattle, and he'd say,
"i only want someone to share this with, young man, do you understand?"
and he didn't. he really, really didn't. especially because you were younger than even bakugou, fresh-faced, hardly knew how to cook anything decent or how to ride a horse. waste of money, in katsuki's eyes.
but when he arranges his feelings right, he meets you on the ranch and — you're scared, because you're now a widowed woman and everyone and their mama wants a piece. you have the money, now, to upkeep the place but you've never done it by yourself. have learned more in the few years you've been married but it's a big place, a big responsibility.
and when katsuki hears that the bank wants to take it all from you, he's all, "over my dead fuckin' body."
it's really all deku's responsibility, since he and toshinori were closer, but you need someone now. and if bakugou has to stay in the house with you and help with the ranch, make sure no one comes to bother you—
then he'll do it. because that's what the old man would've wanted.

You hate Snezhnaya.
Tumblr media
The cold that bites at your cheeks, the way your bones ache if you stand outside too long, and how blinding the snow can be on the days where the sun is the brightest. You hate holding onto candle light to maneuver your way down the hallway of your house, only to hear talk of the Fatui growing in size and manipulating more people into joining under the harbingers from the neighbors that stop by to chat in front of your door late at night.
“They each have their own agenda.” One of them says, as if that’s supposed to justify their actions, like they’re not all connected in some way.
“Did you hear Ajax got into another fight?”
“Again?”
You hate him. Ajax. You hate how he always needs to be the center of attention.
You hate his laughter, his gaze, the way he starts fight after fight and how he doesn’t care if his father cries or threatens to send him to the military. You hate how he knows so much, how he thrives off of the adrenaline that runs through his veins when he knows he’s won, when he can taste it, feel it in his hands and configure it so that it adds fuel to the fire burning brightest in his chest. It’s the one of the only times his smile reaches his eyes.
You hate that it’s the same smile when he looks at you. When he thinks that he can barge in on your walks to get firewood, or when he finds one of your siblings and walks them home. He only wanted to make sure they would get home safe, he swears.
If Ajax could put his pride on a pedestal, he would. He would bellow in letting people watch as it grows and swallows everything in its path to take up more space, thriving on the marvel painted on people’s faces who pass, who watch as he leaves the small village of your hometown to join the Fatui. It shouldn’t have come as a shock when he was recognized because of his ability to fight.
You think about the time that he went missing for three days causing a search party that grew so rapidly in size because his father is a respectable man, it hurt to see how little he slept. It hurt your community to see him attempt to console his other children.
It hurt even more when you were the one Ajax showed up in front of first.
You were looking out to the horizon, the firewood that had been collected by your side, stopping to enjoy the hot stew you had prepared for your siblings in the thermos that had been carefully wrapped to protect it from the bitter temperatures. It wasn’t exactly as hot as you expected but you welcomed the few seconds of warmth brought to your lips. It’s comforting and while looking out to the horizon, you make a silent promise to yourself to move to a nation that is always sunny, where the winds are warm, and the waters are blue. Something that would help your soul feel weightless in contrast to your current surroundings.
When the forest is covered in snow you can hear everything, the branches that fall under the weight of the ice, the crunching of footsteps when someone passes by, and even the curses of the men who were fetching more wood for their wives; tired, exhausted, and numb.
That day he came back, you didn’t expect to hear him, much less see him.
“It’s beautiful isn’t it?” You knew his voice, whipping your head around so fast because you never heard his footsteps approaching. His nose was bleeding, staining his mouth and shirt. “It’s nothing compared to you.” He smiled after wiping the blood off his nose and mouth with his sleeve, watching you in awe of how relieved you must have been when he showed himself to you.
He stumbles forward a little, laughs, “Hey, I lov-I’ve loved you from the moment we met.”
You’re the last thing he sees before he blacks out.
Years have passed since then. You watch when Teucer and Tonia come running by with their new toys, how much easier it gets for his father to take care of himself when he’s promised that Ajax is okay and the financial hardship doesn’t consume his very being. It’s hard not to smile when Teucer looks up at you with a toothy grin, begging you to play with him again.
You’ve never been able to tell him no, even though he has the same eyes as his older brother.
-
You feel uneasy when Pulcinella knocks at your door one evening.
It’s routine for him to visit Ajax’s home, he is the one who offered him the position in the Fatui, you knew he had good combat skills but never would have guessed it was enough for him to be recognized as one of the harbingers. His name is no longer familiar, replaced with Tartaglia. He erases the name given to him, fully accepting his role.
You open your door for him, it would be rude not to answer when the mayor comes to your door.
He smiles gently at you, it does nothing to relieve your nerves, makes goosebumps run down your spine and you will yourself to meet his gaze and return a smile that you would never call your own.
“For you.”
You let him place the box in your hand, it's rectangular, flat, and wrapped beautifully. It makes your stomach drop when his hand touches yours, you can feel a letter slip in between your hand and his, it reminds you of when your grandmother would place chocolates in your hand when you were a child.
“Thank you.” You mumble, mouth dry and lips chapped from the unexpected visit. He nods, leaving you and waving goodbye at Ajax’s family.
You set the box down next to the fireplace, you can hear the crackles from the wood engulfed in flames, it makes you feel less lonely at night. Now that your siblings have gone and left, you’re left to take care of the house your parents had left behind.
You carefully unwrap the bow that sits on top, folding it neatly beside you. Your palms are sweaty when you peel back the wrapping paper. The outside is revealed with the name of an expensive boutique known for the intricate patterns of beautifully displayed lingerie.
You stare at it in disbelief, the measurements are your size down to the millimeter, you feel like screaming. Like locking yourself in your home, blocking out the windows and doors so that no one, no one else could ever invade your privacy the way that he has.
The black lace is decorated with hints of glitter and the satin lines it feels so, so fine. If it were from anyone else you would be enamored, delighted to wear this for someone that you held feelings for, but the only thing you feel is fear.
You remember the letter that was placed in your hands.
You wish you hadn’t opened it. He only speaks of the past, how he never got to tell you how grateful and happy he was to see you after he had been missing for so long.
When you returned home with Ajax, he was different, asking how many days have passed to everyone that came to visit him during his recovery, contemplating how time passes differently where he was in. When you would see him, you had reassured him over and over that it was three days, though he argued it had been three months. He used to make you retell the story again, and again, and again going over the most miniscule details until you were in tears telling him that it’s all you can remember.
You throw the box and letter into the fire, watching the flames consume it all. You spend the remainder of the night fitting whatever parts of your life that you could in a suitcase.
You leave the next morning.
-
Your life in Fontaine is calmer than back home, you’re near the ocean and you bask in the warm windy hills during the day or dive into the ocean once you’ve finished your work at the small little dress boutique in the middle of the city.
Your boss teases you about one of the Gardes that have caught your attention when he patrols, you even sparked up a conversation about your favorite flowers you’ve encountered in Fontaine.
“Romaritime flowers!” you exclaim, “They’re beautiful. They look so pure in and out of the water.”
He places one in your hands the next time you meet, promising to take you on a proper date when he finishes patrol.
You assume the bouquet of them at your front door was from him, assume that you would see him that night when you closed the boutique and assume that he would ask where you would like to go next.
You spent that morning getting ready for work. Donning one of your favorite dresses, it compliments you well enough to make you stand out, but still allows you to work comfortably. It’s something your boss had given to you when you first arrived in Fontaine, the excuse was that you also needed something when you would go out. How else would you fit in?
You cried at her kindness, something you had not encountered in years.
You finish work that night, assuring your boss that you would close up. She gives you a hug, tells you that she wants to hear all about it when you come back after your day off.
The clouds start to darken when she leaves. You hope it’s only temporary.
You imagine this is what heartbreak feels like.
To trust someone with your feelings so easily only to be faced with the hard realization that they didn’t seem to care about that trust to begin with. The rain, which you hoped was short lived,  only rubs salt in the wound. It’s pouring, your shoes are in your hands and your dress is stuck to your body. You waited for two hours after the boutique closed for him to come by, you waited another hour after his patrol ended. You finally left after ten more minutes, when a young woman knew the look on your face and offered you her umbrella. You politely declined, assured her that you would be okay.
In the end you’re left disappointed, cold, and wet. It reminds you of the numerous times you would come home from the harsh snowfall in Snezhnaya, greeted with silence when you stepped foot into your house shivering and attempting to start a fire. You hated it.
You ignore the stares from couples strolling the night, instead focusing on the cool pavement beneath your bare feet, how the rain feels somewhat cooling to your face and how you can hide your tears.
It’s better this way, to only rely on yourself. You’re all you have after all.
When you return home, you toss your shoes outside to dry. Slamming the door behind you and begin struggling to peel off your dress because the fabric is soaking wet and it’s stubbornly sticking to your skin. You curse when it doesn’t come off, panting and pulling it over your head, you step on something sharp, cursing again when you finally throw your dress off and the tears threaten to spill. You curse and throw the dress into the corner of your living room.
You’re left cold, shivering, and only in your bra and panties when you look at the blood from your foot. You begin to cry.
Your gaze then follows the trail of broken glass on your floor, the pool of water leading up to the broken vase of the Romaritime flowers.
“Do you let others stare at you like this?”
Your blood runs cold. You remember the same feeling back when he found you staring out into the horizon all those years ago.
He places a hand over your mouth, holds you flush against his chest when he sneaks up from behind you. “Shh, s’kay.”
You can’t scream, you squirm in his hold, kicking and clawing at his arm holding your face. He thinks it would be fun to allow you to think he’s off balance.
You shift all your weight onto him, hoping that in the fall you’ll have enough time to run, to hide, to fight. You could run to your neighbor’s house, the nice little old couple that lives behind you and hide in their garden until you’re safe. You wish you were safe, you wish you were home sooner. Oh fuck, if only you hadn’t waited for so long into the night.
He grabs your wrist before you’re able to move, bringing you back to him. You force yourself to find strength to move, to be able to turn around and face him. He anticipates this, he spins you around like a dancing couple would.
He laughs once and you stop.
You no longer want to look, you can only see the boy who was missing smiling and complimenting you with blood running down his nose, you remember the lingerie he sent when you were still in the village, how your stomach dropped when the mayor knocked at your door.
Nothing compares to this, to the goosebumps littering your skin when he peers down at you, blue eyes that don’t ever leave your gaze and make you feel like you’re drowning in the sea waters that surround Fontaine.
“I was waiting for you” he whispers, peppering your face with kisses while you stand there, frozen. It’s similar to the time when he collapsed in front of you, only this time you can’t find the words to scream.
It’s funny how this time he’s found you. Your poor attempt at hiding from him is amusing.
“Missed you so much” he continues to kiss you, makes his way down to your collarbones and doesn’t hesitate to get on his knees to kiss the softness of your stomach or the tops of your breasts that are exposed to him.
“Should have locked you up you know? You ran from me, took me forever to find you.”
“Ajax” you whisper, the tears that sting your eyes are threatening to spill. “Why are you here?”
You hold in a sob, you know why. You’ve always known why he was enamored by you.
“Does it matter?” he breathes, shifting his position so he is behind you again, kissing the tears off the side of your face, watching how your breathing shifts when his cold hands touch the bare skin exposed to him.
“Had to pay that Garde off really well. He wasn’t cheap, you know?”
Your heart breaks further, the sob you were holding building into your throat. “You’re so worth it though, pretty little thing. Look at how I found you, fuck, you missed me too didn’t you?”
He’s guiding you to your couch, laying you down while he towers over you. You feel nauseous when you feel his hardening cock through his pants, “look at you, look at you!” He laughs again, another bout of tears flowing down your cheeks, hot and heavy.
He leans down to kiss you, you turn your head but Ajax isn’t opposed to using force to get what he wants, you know this. You’ve always known this. He takes your face into his hands again, squishing your cheeks together like he did before except his gaze is demanding, icy, and bitter.
“Kiss me back”
You oblige, letting him press his lips against yours and slipping his tongue into your mouth. You flinch at the roll of his lips, clutching at his shirt when he groans into your mouth. He mistakes this as want, giving you more until you’re consumed by him, his presence, his scent, his touch.
He breaks away to let you breathe, smiles at the string of spit that connects both of you and how your eyes are hazing, even though he can’t tell if it’s from crying or from how dizzy he’s made you when he kissed you.
“Let’s celebrate” He’s off of you before you can register what he said, grabbing a bottle of one of Mondstat’s best wines. He’s unceremonious, rogue even, when he pops the cork off and takes a drink straight from the bottle before dipping back down to kiss you.
He didn’t swallow much to your surprise, he let the wine pass from his mouth to yours. Pulling away to watch your face scrunch up at the taste, “s’good” he slurs, taking another drink and swallowing this time.
“Here.” He’s pulling you to sit up, he’s so fast it’s hard to follow what he’s thinking, what he’s doing. He’s taking another drink again, it’s smaller this time, more like a sip that he thinks is adequate for you.
He doesn’t let you pull back, his hand is on the nape of your neck making sure you can’t escape his intensity. You try to keep up, letting his tongue enter your mouth and swirl with his. It’s so sloppy, so hot, and sticky that it makes your head spin. He only gives you a break to drink more wine, to make you both drink more.
He keeps giving you more and more, loves when you get weaker and you don’t protest as much anymore. When you whine and start anticipating the alcohol from his mouth to yours, it makes the taste more bearable and your thoughts aren’t as loud in your head.
The wine keeps spilling from the corners of your mouth, leaving a little trail of purple-red for him to lick up to. He’s sucking at the skin of your neck, finding your pulse point so easily. His teeth nip at your skin, you don’t mean to lean into him, the alcohol is making you slow to react. He swears he hears a small moan escape your lips when he nips at the sensitive skin again.
His hand slides down your chest, feeling your tits through the fabric of your bra, it’s still wet.
“Ajax” you slur, “wanna wait” you say. He looks at you, he notices the tears again. You feel them spill, you’re cold. You cling onto him because at least he’s offering you that sliver of comfort.
“Wait?” He repeats, licking a tear off of your cheek.
“Why would I wait when I know you want me too?” He whispers in your ear, his hands unclasping your bra in one go. His touch is cold, similar to how it feels when you first go into the sea. Your body has to get use to it, it starts to warm up and you feel like you could swim and float for hours.
It’s the same with his touch, the cool tips of his fingers warm up the more he squeezes. He likes the sound you make when he pinches at your nipples, he takes one into his mouth, sucking and licking. Groaning when he hears the little whimpers you try to hold back.
He makes his way back up to your lips again, grabs your hands that are clutching at his sides to guide them down to palm the shape of his cock through his pants.
He’s dreamt of this for so long.
“Oh fuck” he pants, his breath hitting your lips before he’s kissing you again, his tongue feels like he’s lapping into your mouth getting as sloppy as possible as if you’re going to vanish again. His tongue rolls over yours until he’s aching, cock throbbing for attention.
“Hey, feel me here.” He pants, eyes red rimmed and the blue of his irises brighter. You feel like you could drown in them.
He takes your hand and holds it in his, tossing his vision on your table. He’s undoing his belt & pulling his pants down enough for his cock to spring free.
He wraps your hand around the base, guides you in how fast and how much pressure to place around him, when he lets go of your hand you can feel him looking at you. You’re focused on the length of him, how heavy and hot he feels against your hand.
You feel like crying again. You oblige him because at least he’ll leave you alone sooner, you’re just another thing for him to win over, to declare victory before he gets bored with you and moves on to this next challenge.
“More fuck, please more” he pants, hips stuttering into your hand. You can feel the sticky, hot precum that coats the tip of his dick and now your hand. You look up at him and see that he’s got his head tipped back, moaning about how hot you are, how good you are, how he’s thought about this since you saved him. Since you found him, how he’s been in love with you since he found you looking out into the horizon. Even before, he’s been in love with you since the beginning, since he saw you.
“You owe me this.” he breathes.
“What?”
He laughs again, the same one that haunts you.
“Don’t act like you didn’t know. I had you watched wherever you went, I made sure your siblings got into the school they wanted, fuck I even followed you here.”
He takes your hand in his, knows that your hand is coated in his pre cum, takes one of your fingers and licks it up the length. His eyes ever leave yours as he does.
“You should thank me.” He deadpans, cock still throbbing and hard when he stands up at full height.
“Thank me.” He repeats the length of his dick is on your face, rutting against your cheek until the tip meets your lips.
“Yeah, that's how you should do it.” He smiles, the one that meets his eyes. The genuine one.
He’s holding on to the back of your head before you can move. He doesn’t care if your hair is messy, it's almost dry now. He takes your hand again, planting it onto his thigh for leverage.
His grip returns to the base of his cock, tapping the tip on your lips again.
You don’t open your mouth, new tears building up in your waterline. He shows no remorse for what he’s doing, no concern, he thinks he deserves this. It’s the least he deserves for what he’s done for you.
He pinches your nose, catching you when you part your lips to shove his length into your mouth.
You cry, struggling to breathe at the pace he starts at.
“Woulda been so gentle to you if you would have been good, fuck.”
He seethes, eyes rolling into the back of his head when both of his hands are holding your head to match his hips. Your nails are digging into his thighs, your strength unmatched for how you try to push yourself off of him as he pulls you forward on his length. He can’t handle the hot, wet, tightness of the back of your throat.
“Fuck yes, more, more, more” he chants, pinching your nose again to see you panic when you look up again, he loves you like this. When your chin is covered in spit and tears and his balls hit you with every rut of his hips.
“God, gonna paint your fucking face, slut. Gonna cover you in my cum so you can never forget who you belong to”
You can feel that he’s getting close, he grants you grace for only one second before he’s holding your jaw in his hand again.
You take in gulps of air, coughing, and crying while he forces you to look at him.
“Don’t run from me again.” He seethes, forcing you back down on his length.
He’s ruthless this time, uncaring for the way your eyes can’t focus, or how you look like you’re going to pass out. You’re vision keeps going in and out, you can hear yourself. How you choke and gag around his length how he curses with each “ack. ack. ack” of his dick hitting the back of your throat.
“Gonna cum—shit”
He pulls you off, using one of his hands to keep you in place while he jacks himself off with the other.
“Say it, say who you belong to.”
You can’t understand, hazy vision threatening to go black.
“Fuck, say it and I’ll cum. I’ll cover your fucking face and never leave you. You understand? You’re mine. “
You don’t know what he’s rambling on about. You want to plead with him, talk this out and let him know he could pursue someone else.
“Ajax” you rasp.
“Yeah? You belong to me don’t you? Oh fuck—“
He groans, doesn’t hold his voice back, calling you all sorts of names but mostly that you’re his, his, his.
His cum on your face should be enough to prove it. He looks at you like a masterpiece, taking his finger and dragging it through his cum and putting it into his mouth before kissing you.
“Don’t let anyone else see you like this.”

heyy i love your writing! idk if this is where you take requests or not or if you do requests but i have a kinda specific one? could you do one with matt where y/n has her own small, cozy home, and she and matt kinda unspokenly like each other and hang out alone all the time? like they're super close and flirt low key all the time in small, sweet ways, and they're "just friends" but could definitely be found watching a scary movie alone together in her super cozy room *sorta* cuddling? going on late night drives together and talking for hours?? that kinda relationship! like id just LOVEE for you to write about a breezy fall night, her bedroom windows open, fall scented candles in her room, homemade chocolate chip cookies, and a scary movie kinda cuddled up with matt under thick blankets? but they obviously like each other a lot and he's the first one to tell her and share really cute kisses??? you know?? like matt can't fully focus on the movie because his heart is beating out of his chest with super cute feelings for y/n. just lots of fluff, cozy fall vibes, nothing super cringey! i hope i got the very specific vibe across haha!
CAN WE BE MORE? - m. sturniolo ⋆⭒˚.

A/N: TYSM for this request, its soo good and hopefully you enjoy reading my take on it!
-
no one was more excited for fall like you and your best friend matt were. in your eyes, fall was when you thrived the most. with the nice breeze, to the crunch of the leaves under your converse as you make yourself up your driveway, nothing could compare.
opening up the door to your small apartment, you immediately felt at ease. quickly kicking off your shoes, you made your way to your living room that was sorta a mess from yesterday’s activities. the triplets came over to bake cookies with you, but chris ended up crashing on the couch. it was no big deal though, you loved the triplets. maybe sometimes you had a little more love for one.
snapping out of your thoughts, you checked your phone to see the time. 5:30. the triplets would be coming over once again so you could have your anual scary movie session.
the day went on with you cleaning every crevasse of your house, of course knowing it would go back to it’s horrid state after the boys got there. then you made your way to your room, looking around to see if anything was out of place. you noticed that matt’s blanket was hanging off your bed so you made way to grab it. matt sometimes liked sleeping over to get away from all the chaos. it was normal for your friendship with him. nothing ever really happened though.
although you loved all three of them, you couldn’t help but wish for some more alone time with matt. maybe it was selfish but you couldn’t ignore the way your heart pounded ten times faster whenever he was around, or when he would sneak glances at you thinking you weren’t looking. maybe it was all in your head, you thought to yourself.
the time was now 6:20, and the sun had already fully set, which made for a cozy environment in your house with the lights dimmed, and pumpkin scented candles flickering. you also made a mental note to check on the cookies you put under the oven.
a few minutes later you heard your front door start to open. it didn’t alarm you since the triplets had an extra key. well, matt had an extra key. “y/n?” you heard a familiar voice call out from the hallway. you couldn’t hide your excited expression as you made your way towards the voice.
you expected to be bombarded by nick, and chris as well but nope, it was only matt. “hey, where are your brothers?” you asked, taking the bag of snacks out of his hands.
shuffling to take his shoes off matt says, “well, i thought it’d be better if it was just us.” you blinked for a couple of moments before smiling. “sure why not, maybe we can actually finish the movie this time.” you chuckled, before making your way to the kitchen, with matt following closely behind you.
he sighed when he smelled the aroma of the cookies surrounding the area. he always secretly loved coming over alone. he liked spending time with just you. of course you guys hang out occasionally like going to random food places together, or heading to the thrift store, but something was different when just hanging out at your house. over the years it’s become like a safe place for matt where he can escape from the world for a little bit. you were his escape. except how does he tell you that?
he watched as you opened the oven to take the cookies out, forgetting about oven mitts, and heat. “hot! hot! hot!” you shouted but refusing to drop your cookies on the floor. matt quickly made his way to you with and oven mitt and placed the cookies on the counter before turning to you. “are you okay??” he asked while gently taking your hands to inspect your burns.
it was nothing fatal, nothing cold water and vaseline couldn’t fix. he led you to the sink and held your hand under the cold water. “stay right here, okay? i’ll go get some vaseline.” matt knew his way around your house like the back of his hand, so he came back with the vaseline in no time. taking your hand out of the water, he gently dried it with a towel, before applying the vaseline to it.
you scrunched your face up at the uncomfortable contact which matt seemed to notice. “i know, i know, but this is what happens when you forget the fucking oven mitt”
you couldnt help but laugh. “hey, i just wanted my cookies.” matt softly smiled before letting your hand go. you both stood there for what seemed like an eternity just staring at each other. until you realized the oven was still on. (id burn the house down yall)
-
after that whole fiasco, you and matt ended up settling down on the couch to watch your favorite scary movie. there wasn’t a lot of space between you two since you liked being close to matt whenever watching these movies. no matter who was there you subconsciously were always closer to him.
the movie started and you were bundled up in your blanket while matt’s arm rested on the couch behind you. although the movie was creepy, the smile on your face almost never left since you felt so secure with matt. eventually though, that smile faded away as a jumpscare popped up on your screen. causing you to jump closer into matt’s side.
on the other hand, matt was freaking out. and not because of the movie. sure you guys have cuddled before, but that doesn’t mean he never longed for more. or for it to more than just two friends being close. his eyes darted between you and the screen. he was sure you could hear the pounding of his chest. he gently removed his arm from the couch and wrapped it around your shoulder, making sure to watch your reaction, not wanting to make you uncomfortable.
you sighed at the contact and rested your head on his chest further. if anyone walked in right now, they’d definitely think you were a couple. but unfortunately you were just two friends as of right now.
eventually the movie ended, but you and matt’s position on the couch didn’t. his arm was still around you, afraid that if he’d move just a little, you’d move away. you looked up at matt and found him staring right back at you. this made you shift up, to properly sit. “what?” you asked him.
matt’s mouth only opened and closed. desperately trying to find the right words. eventually he just sighed, letting everything out. “y/n, i know we’ve been friends for a while but i really cant keep ignoring my feelings like this.” matt shifted on the couch as you listened, worried that you did something wrong.
“i like you, or maybe love im not sure, but i do know that you mean so much to me, and just being friends is killing me.” matt paused for a moment to catch his breath from rambling so much. “i just want to be more.”
“you have no idea how much ive been wanting to hear that from you.” you softly laughed as you watched matt’s face soften. “i love you too, matt.”
matt only smiled as he brought you into a hug, resting his head on your shoulder. “can i kiss you?” he asks, close to a whisper. you nodded before wrapping your arms around his neck. matt smiled at this and leaned in, before his lips landed on yours. matt’s arms made their way down your body and landed on the sides of your waste, trying to pull you in closer.
it felt like your heart was going to explode at any moment with the way matt’s lips were moving against yours. he was gentle, but passionate. matt pecked your lips a couple of times before pulling back and holding you there.
“so, can i be your boyfriend?” he asks, bringing his hand up to caress your face.
“of course you can.”

When it comes to losing your virginity, you've always wanted to wait for the right moment to do it. Maybe it was watching rom-coms and reading hundreds of romances that implanted this vision in your mind, or maybe it was just you wanting to make that big moment perfect, knowing you could never re-do it if you jinxed it…or worse, regret it.
‘’I have not,’’ Belly confessed quietly, shaking her head. ‘’Cam and I went on our third date. It’s way too early.’’ She picked at a loose thread on her shorts, not exactly comfortable talking about sex but feeling comfortable enough to talk about it with you. ‘’Have you and Jere..?’’
‘’No,’’ you said, excluding the other things you and Jeremiah had done that weren’t full-on penetrative sex. ‘’But we are thinking about it.’’
Belly’s attention snapped up. ‘’Oh?’’
You nodded, a light flush tinted your cheeks.
‘’Are you nervous?’’
You nodded again.
So many things could go wrong even if you make sure everything is perfect. You also heard some girls say it hurt the first time and that they bled, which scared you a little.
Belly grabbed your hand, pulling you from your thoughts. ‘’I may not know anything about sex, but what I know is that it’s Jeremiah. He loves you. There’s nothing to be nervous about,’’ she assured you.
A few weeks later, the day finally came.
Your mom was out at her book club meeting and your dad was at the country club, leaving the house to yourself for a few hours. Taking advantage of their absence, you texted Jeremiah to come over…and to bring the condoms.
It was bold and definitely had him grinning on his couch at home before making up an excuse to ditch Steven at video games and shower and get ready for the big event.
While Jeremiah was getting ready, you did the same. You put on matching bra and underwear, gave your hair an extra brush and spritzed yourself with Jeremiah’s favorite perfume of yours, lit some candles for ambiance although it was burning hot outside. You made sure everything was perfect.
Except it wasn’t perfect.
Right when Jeremiah unhooked your bra, his phone started blaring loudly and wouldn't stop. After the fifth ring, Jeremiah answered and left, needing to pick up his mother at the country club. He said he could come back after, but the moment was already ruined.
By some miracle, you were presented another perfect opportunity a few days later.
Susannah was out with Belly and Laurel for a debutante dress fitting, Conrad was at the beach surfing, and Steven was with Shayla.
You and Jeremiah were having a swim in his pool to cool down from the sun. Summer was beautiful, but the heat was too much sometimes. Thankfully, Jeremiah had a nice pool, which you loved to take advantage of. As always, playful splashing turned into kissing and soon enough, you were making out.
You moved things upstairs to Jeremiah’s room for more privacy, and also because didn’t want your first time to be in a pool or on the Fisher’ back porch.
‘’Careful!’’ Jeremiah reminded as the two of you hurried upstairs, leaving water all over the floors despite being wrapped in a towel. ‘’The floors are slippery when we—’’
You caught his arm in time before he could slip and fall, sending the two of you in a fit of laughter. The fun was interrupted when he backed you against the wall and kissed you in the hallway. You melted against him and let your towel drop.
Jeremiah brought you to his bed, not caring about the wet patched your wet baiting suits would leave behind. It's not like you were going to keep them on for very long.
Hands were all over each other's body, exploring and grabbing while you were kissing with desire. You undid the ties of your bikini, chucking it on the floor, then moved to your bottoms. Your whole body was on fire under Jeremiah's touch — you needed it all off.
You reached for Jeremiah's shorts, helping him out because it was harder to take off when wet...and horny, but that's when Steven decided to walk in like he owned the place, catching sight of Jeremiah's bare ass.
For the rest of the summer, you weren't able to find a good moment. Jeremiah was either working at the country club's pool, or someone was home. You could have snuck to an empty bedroom at a party, but a stranger's bedroom was nothing romantic for a first time.
You were starting to get impatient so, one night he was supposed to drive you home, you made him pull over and stop the car. It was dumb and had high risks of getting caught, but you didn't care.
‘’Are you sure?'' Jeremiah asked, seeing you pull your dress over your head. ''We don’t have to if you don’t.’’
You shook your head, looking right into his beautiful blue eyes. ‘’You’re my best friend, Jere. I want it to be you. I want it to be now.’’

My Own Mudblood 2
CW: stepbro! Draco, somnophilia, noncon/dubcon, innocence/corruption, Inappropriate use of Legilimency, implied smut
Tumblr media
Draco’s words played over and over in your mind as you sat in your new bed. Was he threatening you or was it a challenge? You knew dinner would likely be served soon, but seeing him again before you had gathered your thoughts made you more anxious than you cared to admit. Instead, you lay your head down on the lavish pillow and slowly drifted off.
As dinner approached, Narcissa ordered Draco to fetch you to eat, which he begrudgingly obeyed. Storming up the stairs and pushing the door open without even a knock, he opened his mouth to order you down to eat, but stopped dead in his tracks. There you lay, showering in light from the setting sun streaming through the bay window. Your hair sprawled around your head like a halo and skirt bunched up at the top of your thighs. He wanted to wake you up with a rude remark, or leave you there without dinner but he couldn’t move. For a long moment, knowing no one would see his guard down, he took in your beauty - though he wouldn’t dare admit it to himself. He couldn’t help but to stare, wondering what you were dreaming about. Then his eyes trailed down your chest, softly rising and falling, to your naked thighs, and he felt a familiar throbbing against his tight dress pants. Without thinking, he stepped in, closing the door behind him and softly palming himself through his pants. He battled himself internally, trying to justify him touching himself to a mudblood, but his thoughts quickly fogged with pleasure.
Before he was able to talk himself out of it, he inched closer to you, groaning softly as he continued to palm himself. His eyes squeezed closed and he tried to slow his shaky breath, as to not wake you. He stood up against the edge of your bed and kept palming himself, letting himself het carried away, against his better judgement, but as he let out another quiet groan, you were suddenly pulled out of sleep. You let out a squeal, which came out as more of a tired squeak when you saw the tall boy standing beside your bed. He threw his hand over your mouth to quieten you, and you started to panic.
“Shhh. Don’t..Don’t yell.” he paused, trying to gather himself and pull his shirt over the bulge that had grown in his pants. “It’s dinner,” he continued, still breathing heavily. “Eat or don’t. I don’t care but it’s ready.”
You looked up at him dazed, his last words earlier coming back to you quickly. Remembering the way he warned you about your clothing, you became very aware of your skirt ridden up and pulled it back down to cover some of your thighs.
“I’ll, I’ll eat,” you stammered, wondering how long he had stood there before you woke up, and what,,,what was the noise that woke you? You tried to brush it off, sliding down the oversized bed away from him, and to your feet. He towered over you, and you couldn’t help feeling dwarfed by him. You could tell he was thinking about something as he stared at you, possibly holding something back, but his cool demeanour and stern face never gave anything away.
As you entered the large dining room of the manor, it took you a moment to take it all in. The table was large enough for 20 people, though it would only be the four of you eating. It felt strange, and rather lonely, after eating at a small table in your apartment with just your mother for so long. The house elf, who still had no name, floated large silver plates of food to the table, lit candles floating above it. Though it was all very beautiful, you still felt resentment toward your new “family” for their wealth, and for the values that Draco had made you all too aware of.
Narcissa urged you to sit, and to your disappointment, Draco sat directly across from you. You tapped your foot under the table, avoiding eye contact with him. As the four of you started to eat, Narcissa began trying to get to know you better than your father had told her about, only frustrating you more. You still didn’t trust that she had fully divorced her ideas of blood purity after the war, and entertaining the conversation now living with her made you all the more nervous.
“What do you know about the wizarding world, dear? Didn’t you ever get a letter from hogwarts?” she pressed. You balled your fists under the table, digging your nails into your palms as you thought of a calm answer.
“Well,” you breathed another shaky breath “Father had told me when I was young that I was special, when…things would happen without my meaning to, but my mother never allowed me to go to Hogwarts for her own reasons. I guess she was worried about me. I never really learned how to use my magic.” you finally looked up at her to gauge her reaction. Her mouth was pressed together into an awkward smile and you could tell what she was thinking is not what she would say. You felt a pang in your chest, thinking of the years and memories at Hogwarts you missed out on, and what your life would look like if you had been allowed to go.
“Father gave me some books when he decided to bring me..here,” you continued, “But I haven’t had a chance to read much of them yet.”
“Well dear, you certainly have missed out on quite a lot,” She replied after what felt like an eternity of silence. “Draco,” she started, looking over at him but he cut her off instantly.
“No. No don’t even try an-” he started..
“Son I don’t want to hear it,” She looked back at you, ignoring his look of protest. “I’ll have Draco start to tutor you. Try and get you…up to speed,” she said, without leaving any option to protest. Your Father, choosing this moment to finally acknowledge you, perked up.
“That sounds perfect! Be polite and thank them,” he pushed.
You gritted your teeth. Though you definitely could use the help, being tutored by the one person who seemed to hate you most felt like a trap. “Thank you Narcissa,” you said, half meaning it. She nodded toward her son beside her, and you finally looked up and him. His grey eyes pierced through yours and you felt like he was seeing straight through you.
“Th..Thank you, I guess,” you mumbled shyly. Though he angered you to near violence, you couldn’t help but feel meek, looking at him. He begrudgingly nodded, rolling his eyes, before they landed back on yours, holding for a moment longer than you expected.
“We’ll start tomorrow,” his velvet voice breaking the moment’s silence surprised you. Your mind raced, thinking about being taught, one on one by Draco Malfoy, and what that might involve. You knew he was a death eater in the recent past - and a very prolific one at that, and though it made you nervous, you weren’t scared. You were almost excited. You imagined him using his wand to cast spells you were yet to learn - his large, ring clad hand wrapping around his wand…then your own hand, or your throat. You caught yourself daydreaming and internally scolded yourself. What were you doing?
That’s Draco fucking Malfoy you yelled at yourself mentally. And he’s your goddamn step-brother! You shifted in your seat, both in embarrassment and arousal. You stole a quick glance up at him, and to your shock, for the first time since you had met him, he wasn’t brooding. His mouth was curled up on one side into an amused grin. You dropped your gaze back down to your plate. Could he know? You wondered. That’s ridiculous. How could he know?, you reasoned with yourself. You tried to focus on something; anything but the images your mind had flashed before you but you kept finding yourself back in those thoughts.
You had never slept with anyone, and for lack of better words, you knew you were quite inexperienced in that regard. Innocent even - But the thought of his long fingers in your mouth, or in your increasingly heating core made you squirm in your seat. The conversation your father and Narcissa were having sounded like a muffled blur in the background of your thoughts. You wondered what he would look like under his tailored black shirt - If he would have scars from the war, or if somehow, he had healed them away. Your cheeks burned at the thought, fingers fidgeting with the hem of your pleated skirt. Finally, dinner came to an end and you were able to excuse yourself. You rushed upstairs, still feeling an ache between your legs. You decided to unpack your trunk to distract yourself from the perverted thoughts. You pulled your clothes out one by one, putting them on hangers when you heard a low, raspy chuckle at the door. You swung around to find Draco leaning on the door frame with a smug look on his face.
“What?!” you snapped at him and he shook his head, still laughing
“You mudbloods make things so bloody difficult,” he chuckled before waving his wand casting a silent spell, and each item of clothing flew into the closet on hangers. Your eyes narrowed at him.
“I didn’t need your help, asshole,” you scowled, embarrassed more than you were angry.
“Fucking brat you are,” he stepped closer to you without wiping the smug look off his face. “I know you want my help. You need my help. You made that more than obvious at dinner,” he snickered. Though you didn’t want to believe he somehow read your mind earlier, the blood drained from your face and you stepped back.
“Don’t worry, mudblood - I’ll teach you about that too in our little lessons.” He was now inches from you, leaning down to your height, demeaningly. He smelled of peppermint and some sort of whiskey, and it was almost impossible to remain angry when you could feel his breath on your neck and his heady scent filled you. You did everything you could to fight the unwanted thoughts of your new step-brother from your mind, and though you didn’t want him to leave, you shoved his hard chest away tried to order him out. You pushed and pushed on his hard chest, but he didn’t move an inch. Your cheeks heated up, not wanting to give in to the thoughts creeping back at the touch.
“Poor weak thing. Use your manners and I’ll leave,” he cooed, condescendingly.
You gritted your teeth, not wanting to obey, but knowing it was the only way.
“Fine,” you huffed. “Please Draco, will you get out of my room,” you flashed a sarcastically sweet smile.
“Good girl,” he rumbled and walked out, leaving his intoxicating scent lingering in the room behind him.

ASL thoughts and head canons.
1. Sabo’s missing tooth he had as a kid didn’t actually fall out. He chipped it back when he was still living with his family. And his parents thinking that made him look disgusting and rowdy had the rest of the tooth removed before his adult tooth was even remotely ready to move in. Thus there was a gap in his teeth for ages. It started growing in when Sabo set sail.
2. Luffy loved using Ace’s freckles as a dot to dot. Both brothers heavily think he doesn’t have a fucking clue what animals he’s trying to conjure and Ace is getting sick of having to fight him tooth and nail every time Luffy finds a marker
3. In his early days of friendship with Ace. Sabo refused to believe that he could eat an entire bear by himself. He thought Ace was exaggerating like when someone says “I’m so hungry I could eat a horse” yet when he saw it with his own eyes he was horrified. Ace was also confused why Sabo didn’t want a bear to himself. But didn’t complain. Hunting one bear for the both of them and fighting over it was pretty fun. And scavenging berries for a desert never bothered them.
4. Sabo grew his hair out while he was a run away. He hated how it looked buzzed. And while he probably didn’t let it get any longer then his brother’s he loved the freedom. His mother cut his hair the second he was taken back home
5. Ace and Sabo hadn’t thought twice about bugs. Ace saw them as pests like the moths that would huddle around the candle light and Sabo was taught that they were gross. Luffy on the other hand adored them. He showed them bug fighting and showed them all sorts of cool and pretty bugs. He would also put beetles in his brothers’ shoes for fun but in the end they had come out of it for a new respect for bugs and a little bit more love-hate for Luffy.
6. Sabo tried to tell his adopted brother about his real brothers but he refused to believe Sabo was telling the truth. I mean beating up a giant tiger in the woods? Being made of rubber? Being able to eat 5 times their body weight in a matter of minutes? He thought Sabo was loony.
7. When taken back to his parents, Sabo refused to eat with his brother. Sharing a meal with someone made you friends and sharing a cup of sake made you brothers. And he wanted nothing to do with him.
8. Sabo was Dadans favourite. At first. Originally Sabo was… as well behaved as he was going to be around his brothers because that need to respect authority was so engrained in him. Though as he grew more comfortable with Dadan and trusting she really wasn’t going to kick him out other dumb things. He started joining in on the bullying Dadan band wagon. And she hated them all equally again.
9. Luffy and Ace find it absolutely hilarious how bad Sabo would get sun burnt in the summer. They would chase him around trying to slap him for hours. Dadan taught him how to make a remedy and over the years he gained a tan and freckles that he knew would have his bio dad blow a fuse.
10. Luffy always wants to be in fights of strength with his brothers to prove he’s strong. You know, arm wrestling. That weird thing were you put your feet together and push with all you’re might. And of course rough housing. But in the super early years of being a rubber man that was impossible cause his body would just. Bend. Arm wrestling? Womp womp no elbow for you. Foot wrestle? His legs fold like a piece of paper. He was humiliated and his face was bright red every time Ace and Sabo would laugh.
11. One of the best training methods the brothers had found for Luffy was actually made as a joke. Still completely pathetic at landing a damn punch Sabo jokingly said he should train by trying to catch bugs by stretching your arms. And after a lot of frustrated afternoons his aim did improve an alarming amount. Luffy to this day continues to train that way and he always thinks of Sabo when he does.
12. They never finished that bottle of sake they stole from Dadan. At the time they all thought the drink was absolutely putrid though drank their cups if it meant they were brothers. The bottle is still in the treehouse. Even after everything. It’s completely oxidised but the smell keeps animal from making their treehouse a nest so Ace and Luffy never minded all that much.

*~*~*~*
The roses are wilting.
It was destiny, fate. Such pretty things never last forever, after all, even if the entire universe wished otherwise. One way or another, they are meant to fall, like how the sun drops below where anyone can see it, being replaced with the moon, and vice versa. They fall deep, deeper than hell itself, and no one can pick them back up, unless one would be inclined to make a pact with the devil himself, doing horrendous things in his name. But Kafka has already committed such sins, so why deny doing so any longer? It is who she is. It is who you are, to be entangled in her lies and be forced to dance and to sing and to act.
With two gloved hands, she picks up the vase, spilling out the moldy water and the dying roses, the roses she got for you after you sang so well at the opera house, looking so beautiful, into the trash can underneath your makeup vanity, where little clumps of hair and emptied products always meet their end.
She’ll get you a new bouquet later. A new vase too. Perhaps instead of white roses you would like red ones instead? Kafka knows that this vase is cheap too, from one of your fellow divas, whose high notes are not as high as yours and her costumes not as elaborate or as elegant as yours.
“I honestly don’t see why you even try to befriend any of them, darling. They are all envious harpies. They can’t hold a candle to anything you do.”
You are not here, but Kafka’s mouth always has a mind of its own, so it spins lies even when your delicate, lovely ears are not in the general vicinity. Not that she minds it. But yours is what she is quite more so than trifles with, because yours is carefully controlled by her and her alone, and you, as always, don’t get a say. It’s a sort of hypocrisy, Kafka thinks, but she doesn't mind that either.
If she has to, she’ll even sew your mouth shut, your ears shut, your eyes shut, if that is what it takes for you to stay with her. She doubts it would ever come to that, though, because you are always too fragile and too trusting to tell the difference between an Iago and a Desdemona. But the latter role would much better suit you, her little flower, her princess.
You are so precious, but also a treasure prying eyes will always want to touch and see and hear. Kafka would, in all honesty, love to cut their hands and tongues off, if it did not ruin the carefully crafted image she made just for you. Maybe later, though, when all the stage lights are off.
“Lady Macbeth, hmm?” She murmurs.
She disagrees with the role you were given entirely. But, you were not one to stand up for yourself, so Kafka let it go.
“You really ought to leave this business soon, dearest.” Kafka looks around, her arms crossed, not impressed with the room you were given in the slightest. “You can always just come with me.” She meant it. “Imagine all the sights you would see. All the food you would eat. All the gifts I would be so happy to give you. All the hugs and kisses you would receive from me. Everything… just think about it.”
She could imagine it herself. It is not hard, really, for the mind to reject all sense of logic and bow down to the whim of what is known as human emotions, mortal joys, woes, desires, wants, and needs. She could imagine sitting you on her lap as the ship jumps to the next world she will have to visit, telling you stories of the past, present, and future, as you look on with amazement. You don’t do that anymore, now. She would do anything to see it come back. She would steal a crown and place it on your head, though you having the genuine article does not make you any stronger. If anything, perhaps it would make you weaker to her whims.
“Imagine that…” She sighs, closing her eyes as she smiles. “We can go to Penacony. Your dreams would come true there if I cannot make them true myself. You can sleep on beds worth more than this entire opera house. If only you would let me. I know it would make you happy. I know it would make me happy. So why wouldn’t it make you?”
She would listen to your ultimate pains, and your ultimate wishes, and act accordingly. She loved you. You will too, again. It is only a matter of time, isn’t it? Yes, Kafka thinks, it is fate.
Kafka always sits in the front row of the theater.
It does not matter whether or not she purchased the tickets for it, the seat, or the show soon to come to fruition. No one dares talk back to her, even security. She finds comfort in that. No one gets in the way of her having the chance to see you. Better yet, no one else sits in the front row when she is present.
So, she watches, one of her legs crossed over the other, her eyes never blinking. During interludes she likes to adjust her makeup accordingly, painting on another shade of crimson to her lips. Art comes in many forms, after all.
Kafka told you that once. As always, you listened dutifully as she taught you to be.
She taught you many things, not just that. She taught you how to read constellations. She helped you learn her vocabulary in the books she gave you, often long fairytales or poems. She preferred it that way when you used to be so eager to have someone be friendly to you and not want to simply use you for their own amusement, not wanting to throw you out of the opera house altogether.
The opera house may rot after it goes up in flames, in the future, if things go her way as it always does, but she’ll stay to watch it all, to take you in as you cry and as she shushes you. She’ll be happy. Maybe you will be too, for her. It matters how good your performance is, if you even want to act anymore, after all.
The lights dim, and she shows her pearl-white teeth as she grins.

One shot for happy new year

A/n: Happy New Year Everyone!
Tumblr media
"Satoru?"
You looked around the house for your lover. Your everything. Boyfriend, friend, lover—everything possible. But he will never be your enemy.
You reached for your phone to check the time. Perhaps he went on a mission? He's not home, and you also slept late in the morning. And it's all because of him... He didn't let you sleep earlier. Maybe he left early because he was called? Perhaps it was so. It was already 1 p.m.He certainly went on a mission. But you didn't expect that his teacher would be working after the holidays. So it was definitely a mission.
Basically, you went to sleep when the sun was already rising. It was sunrise, and only then could you fall asleep.
Your apartment has remained as it was. You saw his shirt lying in the corner of the room. It was certain that he didn't want to clean up after himself sometimes. Even after he runs to the bed, undressing along the way, he attacks you as quickly as possible. When he started living with you, you thought he would destroy your house. You both pay the bills, but you're surprised that he lives with you and not in his house. Since he certainly had a house of the same standard as you. You wanted to live modestly, but with all these conveniences.
You had a beautiful apartment overlooking the city. No noise disturbed you, thanks to the soundproofing. You could relax in the bathtub in jacuzzi mode. I earn money to live like a princess. At least in your own home. Sometimes you can't stop yourself from buying something you want. It doesn't matter how much it costs.
At first, you thought Satoru would be like a parasite on your credit card. But later, you found out that the money he earns is enough to buy even more. And you're not as wasteful as he is. You're not the one who imports snacks and sweets from abroad to see how they taste. He buys the most food. And in addition, sometimes he goes into a shopping frenzy where he doesn't buy anything cheap because he wants to be a model at home for you.
White shirts for ¥600,000? That's exactly him. However, it doesn't bother you. Why should it bother you that he spends his money on something like this? Since it doesn't even threaten the amount of his salary. And so a prince was added to your life as a princess, who made you live like a true queen.
Your two-meter-tall parasite with white hair disappeared from the house in the morning without waking you up, and the only thing he told you was:
„If you're reading this, I left home (「'・ω・)「” “I'll be back before evening. I still have to plan our New Year's Eve.”
Oh yes. It's today. December 31st. In a few hours, it will be another year... This is the first New Year's Eve with him. If he lasted one year with you, maybe the next one will be even better? Anyway, you need to focus more on surviving December 31st to enter January 1st. If his plans for tonight are the same as yours and his birthday, you need to save your energy.
On your birthday, it was you who was playing with him, not him playing with you.
"The last day of the year, the next year, huh..."
With that in mind, grabbing your favorite cookies and drink, you undressed and went to the bathtub. Soothe your body, gain energy, and enjoy relaxation. You don't have anything to do today anyway.
Scented candles created a pleasant atmosphere. The blinds in the house are closed. And this is called life. The light you set for pleasure.
"Oi Oi Oi!"
You suddenly jumped out of the bathtub, sat up straight, and spun around.
Is Satoru back?
"Satoru?"
"It's me, honey! But I'm not here!"
"Huh?"
"I installed a speaker at home! When I'm away from home, I can speak, and you'll hear me even without a phone! Well, it's kind of like a loud telephone that can be heard throughout the apartment."
"Why?"
"We'll see each other in person only in the evening! It won't be long, actually! You fell asleep in the bathtub!"
What's wrong with him at this point?
"I know you had a nice sleep, honey~! But seriously, tell me, do you have any toys under that foam in the water~? Are you playing in the bath without me?"
"I have nothing, you pervert!" you held your hands up. "Wait, how do you know I'm in the bathtub?"
"You have cameras at home! In case of a break-in! You told me about it once! It was inactive, but I made use of it. I have the app on my phone, and I can see you right now."
Why is the camera in the bathroom, and why is it pointed at the bathtub? He must have set it up! You were sure there were cameras in the hallway, near the entrance, and in the living room!
"Don't be shy now~. I sent you a message. Location. Wipe your sweet ass, and please go there. Ijichi can come pick you up."
"What is there?"
You wanted to call him a white-haired pervert, but he always says that... Must there be some sexual undertones in all the jokes he tells you?
When you met him, he wasn't like that. Sure, he was constantly flirting with you. But now his flirtations always have sexual undertones, or he talks like a professional seducer.
You're the only one he loves, and he said if he cheats on you, you can beat him up.
Was this an attempt to make fun of you? Or maybe it was to show that he will never cheat on you because he doesn't want to be beaten by you?
Well, never mind.
Since he sent you the address of a clothes shop where you walked in and got a bag with the dress he chose for you. But since he bought you a dress, you're going out today, right? So a little extra never hurts. Besides, Satoru likes it when you look beautiful. And if you wear the necklace, he won't get around your neck.
Judging by the color of the dress, you chose something that fits perfectly.
The dress was dark but had shiny details. You will feel like a mafia wife. But Satoru kills, so it's similar.
You don't even worry about the fact that he had blood on his hands so many times.
The important thing is that it's him.
„11. 59. Roof." he sent you this message.
"Oh, at 11:59 pm on the roof?"
Excitement was building within you with each passing minute.
Until finally, 10 minutes before the scheduled time, you arrived on the roof, seeing your boyfriend running around hanging small gold lights on the railing.
"Toru."
When he heard your voice, he turned around quickly and smiled, scanning you with his eyes.
"I knew you would look beautiful."
Your welcome was long. He hugged you, kissed you and complimented you. He showed you what he had prepared for you.
Suddenly, he pushed you against the railing until your back touched the metal.
"Whatever the last minutes of this year will be, that's what next year will be like, right?"
"Huh?"
He glanced at his watch and suddenly parted your lips, kissing you continuously. A passionate kiss shook your body.
Fireworks were lit in various places, and people shot them off, celebrating the new year that has now arrived.
A minute later, he removed his lips from yours, licking his lips. Smearing the slight color left on his lips from your lipstick.
"If you start kissing at 11:59 on New Year's Eve, stop at 12:01 am. 1st of January. When the new year comes. Then the whole year will be as sweet as this moment."
You smiled, hugging him.
"You saw it on the internet, right?"
"Yup. But I thought it was so sweet. Happy New Year ❤️"

Chapter 7: Here Comes A Candle To Light You To Bed
First Chapter / Previous Chapter / Next Chapter
One Week Later
(A/N: Smut incoming)
”Jesus, (y/n)!” Bethany exclaimed over my phone and I sighed as I sit on the bed, wearing a sky blue silk robe. After the fiasco that was Herogasm, the boys and I went to my house and stayed there for a day before we moved on. We didn’t want Homelander or anybody else to find us and since now that Hughie’s girlfriend, or ex-girlfriend, put out a statement over on Instagram saying that the explosion was caused by Ben.
And Vought does have me on file on being alive and where I live so someone there will make a connection and come knocking. So now we had been hiding out at Legend’s home that he had out of the city. During all of this, I did try to call and give Bethany updates of everything that’s happened and just now I was able to give her the full story.
”Yeah…” I sighed. “Can I do anything to help? Maybe I can talk to Steven and we can offer our home…” Bethany said and I shake my head. “No, no! I’m not putting you guys in danger.” I said and Bethany sighs. “I’m serious, Beth. This could get a lot worse than it already is. Plus if that asshole Homelander gets to you guys, I’d never forgive myself.” I added. “Alright, but if you need anything and I mean, anything, just call me and I’ll be there.” Bethany said and I smiled. “I appreciate it, Beth.” I said.
”Of course, you’re my best friend and I know that you can take care of yourself, I still want to protect you.” She said and I smiled at this. “I’ll let you go, just be safe and be careful.” Bethany said. “I will.” I said then I hang up and sighed as I put my phone away.
I get up from the bed and walk to the curtain window and open it to let some sun in. I fold my arms across my chest and think over the last few days when I heard footsteps behind me. I look over my shoulder and see Ben coming back into the room, wearing that really silly light green silk robe with a flowery design on it.
”You know you look fucking ridiculous in that robe, right?” I tell him and he looks down at it then looks back at me with a flirty smirk. “Well, if you wanted me to walk around naked, all you had to do was ask.” He said as he slowly starts to undo the robe strap. I chuckle and shake my head at this as he removes the strap off his robe and I could see he was naked underneath the robe. The past week, every morning and night, Ben and I had been fucking like rabbits as if there was no tomorrow.
What with the whole ordeal at Herogasm, it’s been harder to get out there and find Mindstorm, who seemed to have taken notes from me as he seems to have disappeared. Ben told Butcher that he remembered that Mindstorm had bought  eleven abandoned cabins, so there might be a chance he’d be in one of them. So whenever Ben and I were left alone, we just headed to the bedroom and make up 40 years worth of lost time.
“What? Are you already up for another round? We just finished like about thirty minutes ago.” I said as Ben pulls me to him. “As I’ve told you, sweetheart, I have a lot of time to make up for.” He said, in a low gruff voice, and he leans in and kisses me. Our lips molded together, perfectly, as we make-out and I run my hands up and down his chest.
I lower my right hand down his chest, over his abs then down to his lower abdomen and wrap my hand around his half-hard dick. I hear Ben inhale through his nose at this as he continues to kiss me but then he starts to grunt and groan once I started to move my hand, stroking him.
We break the kiss but our foreheads were pressed against each other and our lips were only inches away as he groans at the pleasure I was giving him. I stroke him slowly at first then started to go faster and Ben starts panting. “Fuuuuck….” He whispers and I smile, proudly, as I continue.
Once his dick was full and hard, I then remove my hand off of him then shoved him onto the bed. He falls back on the bed then sits up, his robe had opened up and I could see his cock full and standing at attention. I give Ben my best bedroom eyes as he looks at me, lust swimming in his eyes, while I saunter over to him.
He then starts to stroke himself but once I stand in front of him, I smack his hand away from his dick and I kneel down in front of him. I start licking his shaft as Ben starts to pant a bit but then groans the moment I wrap my lips around him and started to take him deeper in my mouth. “Fuckin’ hell, sweetheart.” Ben groans and I start sucking then he inhales, sharply. “Shit!”
I smile and raise my eyes to look up at him as I continue to sucking his dick. He looks down at me and his jaw slackens and his eyelids were hooded. “God, you have no fucking idea how fucking hot you look with my dick in your mouth right now.” Ben growls as he starts to jerk his hips and I hum in approval at this.
I continue doing this for few more minutes, getting turned on even more from the noises Ben was making, before I pull my mouth off of him, lick my lips and give Ben a seductive look. He grabs my face and pulls me towards him and crashes his lips upon mine. I jump up on his lap, straddling him, and continue to make-out with him while he starts to pull off the sash of my robe and yank my robe off of me.
Then he grabs his dick and runs the tip over my entrance, which made me gasp. His free hand grabs my hips then he guides me to take in his cock into me, the both of us moan into each other’s mouths until he was fully sheathed inside me. “Fuck.” I moaned and I hear Ben chuckle. He wraps his arms around my waist and pulls me close to his chest, my breast pressed up against his chest and he kisses the top of them as I start moving my hips.
I gasp and moan as he was hitting all the right buttons inside of me while he continued to kiss my boobs then moves back to kiss me on the lips again. I then push him back to lay down and I sit up as I start to bounce on his cock and Ben throws his head back into the mattress.
”Fuck!” He groans and I smile at this. “Yeah? You like that?” I asked him, seductively, as I continue to move my hips. “Fuck, yeah, I do. This pussy was made for me.” He pants then he jerks his hips upwards to meet mine and it was now my turn to throw my head back and let out a loud moan. “You’re so good for me, (y/n).” He whispers as he grabs my breasts with both of his hands and I grab his wrists, holding them in place, as I continue to ride him while he bucks his hips up in time.
For a few more minutes, we keep going at it until I felt the familiar sensation building and building within me. “Ben…” I gasp, my eyes still closed. “That’s right. You gonna cum for me? Huh? You want me to put a baby in you?” He asked me and something about that turned me one even more as I clench around him. “Oh, you like that? Want me to fill you up? Have my babies?” Ben asked me and I nod. “Yes, yes, yes! Give it to me!” I plead and he chuckles.
”Then take it, princess. It’s all yours.” He growls and I felt myself explode over him and he follows not to far behind and I feel him paint my walls. Both of us scream out in ecstasy as we ride out our orgasm until I collapse on top of him, both of us catching our breathes.
”Holy shit.” I whispered and Ben chuckled. “I swear I’m never gonna get tired of you.” Ben said as he turns on his head to look at me. I scoff at this before he continues. “I’m serious, (y/n). It doesn’t matter how many times we do this, it just gets better and better.”
I look at him as I start to sit up and he does as well, he places a hand on my cheek and strokes his thumb over my cheek and I just could tell by the look on his face and in his eyes that he was telling the truth. “You’re really serious.” I stated and he nods. “I love you, (y/n). And not just for sex…” he said and I chuckled. “I would hope not.” I said and he rolls his eyes.
Then he gets this look like he was thinking over his next words, carefully, and I tilt my head at this. “Ben?” I said and his green eyes met my (e/c) eyes. He stares at me for a moment, takes a deep breath then starts to speak. “(Y/n), I…” he started to say before we hear footsteps and the door to the bedroom opens and in walks Butcher, Hughie and Legend.
“Oh, what the fuck!? Seriously you two?!” Legend exclaims, annoyed, as I quickly get up to my feet and Ben closes his robe to cover himself. “Oh, God.” Hughie said and he turns away to not look at me as I grab my robe off of the floor and put it on. “Fuckin’ hell.” Butcher mutters. “Would it fucking kill you boys to fucking knock?” I asked them, angrily, as I tied my robe sash.
“Yeah. What's the problem?” Ben asked, annoyed. “What's the problem? This bed has seen two Jaclyns. You know that? Smith and Bisset. Y-You're treating it like a Reno cat house.” Legend exclaims and Ben rolls his eyes as he goes to the bedside table and pulls out a cigar. “Jesus.” Ben grumbles.
“The problem is you gave me 11 of Mindstorm's last-knowns. So far, I've had a look at three and found fսck all. I-I'm chasing me fսcking tail here, mate.” Butcher said, sounding exasperated. “Sounds like that's three down and eight to go.” Ben grumbles. “Yeah, and that's gonna take weeks, and weeks I don't got.” Butcher argues while Legend looks over the bed.
”Egyptian cotton sheets and now I got to fսcking burn 'em.” Legend groans. “The deal was, we get the rest of my team, then we get Homelander.” Ben said to Butcher as he lights his cigar. “And what I'm saying is I could use an hand figuring it out.” Butcher said, annoyed. “I told you. Mindstorm's a paranoid fսck.” Ben said as he stands up and walks up to Butcher.
“But, hell, if you could hear everybody's shitty thoughts, you'd be, too. Look, he bought up all these run-down cabins all over the place. He's Howard Hughes without the piss jars. He's batshit crazy.” Ben goes on. “Mindstorm's not crazy. He's bipolar.” Legend corrects.
”He's bipolar?” Hughie asked. “Yeah.” Legend said as he gathers up the bed sheets. “Does he take meds for it?” Hughie asked, concerned. “I believe so. At least he did.” Legend said as he starts to walk out for the room. “God, it smells like sеx and Bengay in here.” Legend grumbles and I roll my eyes.
”Lithium prescriptions aren't that common. I mean, I doubt he's making it. Maybe...i-if we look at the cabins and we...” Hughie said and Butcher looks at him. “And then check the local pharmacies.” He finished and Hughie nods. “Yeah.” Hughie said. “See who's handing out lithium. Nice one, Hughie.” Butcher said, proudly, and he pats his shoulder.
”We're gonna need more reefer.” Ben said then he smiles and I roll my eyes at this.
*3rd Person POV*
“Okay, satellite view has Mindstorm's place about two miles in, due west.” Hughie said as he looks at his phone while Butcher opens the trunk of his car. “Two miles? Fuck me. We could've parked closer.” Butcher complains as Ben grabs his shield then Butcher grabs a bag. “So, do you two mind telling us what we're walking into here?” Butcher asked as he closes the trunk and Ben takes a puff of his cigarette.
”All you got to know is, if he tries to make eye contact with you, close your eyes.” (Y/n) warns them. “Or what?” Hughie asked, confused. “Just don't make eye contact with him, then you got nothing to worry about.” Ben tells him then he turns away and walks off, smoking the weed, (y/n) follows him.
”Hey, why do you keep buying him, like, Hefty bags full of weed?” Hughie asked Butcher as he takes out the Temp V. “Better high than mental. Takes the edge off his PTSD.” Butcher replied. “Wait, he has PTSD?” Hughie asked, shocked. “Yeah, I saw it at Herogasm. It's why he keeps blowing the fսck out of everything. We got to keep that cսոt dozy as a lamb.” Butcher said, in a quiet voice, while (y/n) walks along the edge of the woods, looking around as Ben smokes.
”So, just to recap, uh, he's radioactive, highly traumatized and heavily self-medicated. Feels good, feels right.” Hughie scoffs. “Tell me about it. I mean, what sad bastard self-medicates like that, eh?” Butcher asked as he hands a doses of Temp V to Hughie.
Meanwhile, in an abandoned pizza restaurant called Buster Beaver’s, Noir walks in and looks around at the old building. To his right, was a painted murial of the characters from this former business, including an eagle, a pig, two horses, a sheep, a pig, a squirrel and the lead himself, Buster the beaver.
Noir opens some old cans of beans and pours them in a bowl before he sits down and contemplates. Ever since hearing about Soldier Boy return, Noir was actually scared. Then all the characters from this franchise appear before him, as if coming out of their hiding places, and walk up to him.
“Earving, sooner or later, you're gonna have to t-t-talk about it. Remember when you were nine, a-and you hid in that ball pit right over there, after you p-p-p-paralyzed Lewis Frankel? This is just like that.” Buster tells Noir before he sighs. “You can't hide from Soldier Boy. We're your best pals, aren't we? We got you through that erection in the seventh grade, that Hard Rock Cafe m-m-massacre in Lagos. And by golly, we'll get you through this, too.” Buster said and the other characters agree.
”You got that...”
”That's right.”
“You're our friend.”
But Noir gets up, grabs his chair and walks away then sets the chair down. He sits down in it then folds his arms across his chest, his back facing his cartoon friends.
*(y/n)’s POV*
We walk along the forest, no one was talking, until Ben stopped and turned to me, Butcher and Hughie. “What’d you say?” He asked us and we stop and stare at him. “What?” I said, confused. “What?” Ben asked back. “Nothing, mate. No one said nothing.” Butcher said and Ben looks between us then walks away. Butcher, Hughie and I share a look before I go over to Ben sighs.
”Hey…” I said to him as I catch up. “You okay?” I asked him, concerned. “Fine.” He replied, flatly. “You sure?” I asked but before he could respond, he looks down and I noticed that we had hit a wire. “Oh, fսck.” He growls and a bomb goes off a few feet in front of us and we get blown back and roll.
Smoke swarms us as Ben and I look around but couldn’t see Mindstorm. The smoke cleared and I see Hughie leaning over Butcher, who looked like he had fallen asleep. “Butcher, wake up. Wake up!” Hughie exclaims as Ben and I walk up to them. “Fսcking freak slipped away. He's gonna pick us off one by one.” Ben said as he looks around the woods.
”Come on, wake up, Butcher. Butcher! Wake up.” Hughie exclaims, panicking. “No, you're wasting your time, he's gone.” Ben tells Hughie. “What did Mindstorm do?” Hughie asked us as he turns and stands up. “Well, if it's his usual MO, trapped him in an endless nightmare till he dies of terminal dehydration.” I informed. “No, there's got to be a way we can wake him up.” Hughie said.
”Mindstorm put him into this. He can snap him out.” Ben said. “Okay, great, great. Uh...” Hughie stammers but Ben talks over him. “But he's about to be dead.” He said. “Wait, wait, just hang on. If we, if we, if we grab Mindstorm, we make him help Butcher...” Hughie negotiates. “No way.” Ben said a she turns away. “And then, and then you can kill him, Then you can go to town on him, man. I don't give a fսck.” Hughie exclaims then Ben turns to him.
“Hey. If you're gonna act hysterical, I'm gonna slap you like I'm Connery. Now, unless you want to end up like your friend there, it ain't worth the risk.” Ben tells him, firmly, and Hughie glares at him. “Look, chin up, okay? Deal's a deal. You help me finish this, I'll kill Homelander. Butcher would have given up his life for that in a heartbeat. So, we doing this or not?” Ben asked and Hughie groans and goes to grab the bag.
”Leave it. We got to move fast.” Ben said as he walks ahead but stood and raised a hand. “Ah. Do you hear that?” Ben asked. “No.” I said. “Uh...” Hughie said then he clears throat. “You might want to lay off the weed, huh?” He asked. “And you might want to gargle my ballsack.” Ben retorts as he walks off.
Hughie sighs, exasperated, then turns to me. “Can’t you…I don’t know…talk to him?” He asked me and I sighed. “I, uh…” I stopped as I see the pleading look in his eyes then look over at Butcher. “I’ll see what I can do.” I said as I walk over to Ben.
”Ben….” I said, cautiously, but Ben sighs. “Forget it, (y/n). You heard what I said.” He grumbles and I sigh as well. “C’mon, Ben, it’ll just take a second. We can kill him right afterwards.” I said and Ben stops, turning to me. “I said no. You know how dangerous Mindstorm is. If we even give him an inch, he’ll take a mile. We kill him, then Noir and then Homelander. Butcher would want it that way.” Ben said, firmly, and he starts walking again.
“Would you say the same thing if Mindstorm had gotten me instead?” I asked and he stops in his tracks. “Don’t pull that shit.” He growls and I see Hughie looking at me with fear. “Would you?” I asked Ben. He keeps his back facing me, stands there for a few more moments then huffs at this and continues on.
“Still can't believe this shit is legal. We locked up so many assholes for it back in the day.” Ben said as we continued on into the woods while he looks at his blunt. Then he stops and turns to us. “What the fսck did you say?” He asked us. “Uh, uh, literally nothing.” Hughie said then he kept shooting glances over his shoulder.
“Jesus. How hard?” Ben asked him and Hughie turns to him. “What?” He asked. “How hard did Butcher suck your dіck that you miss him that much? Hmm? His mouth must feel like a Hoover Deluxe.” Ben said and Hughie scoffs in disgut. “God, every single thing you say is so gross.” He said then he turns to me. “How do you stand it?” He asked me and I shrug. “You get use to it.” I said and Hughie sighs then turns to Ben.
”Look…He saved me, okay? More than once. So I owe him.” He said. “Oh, bullshit. You're on a mission. You get the job done. Okay? I stormed Normandy. I fought the Nazis. You want to know what I do when I'm sad or scared? Fսcking nothing. 'Cause I'm not a fսcking pussy.” Ben said and Hughie chuckles softly. “You didn't storm shit. Your whole Marlboro Man act? It's fսcking crap.” Hughie spat and I look at him. “Hughie…” I said, waringly, but he kept going.
“And I...” Hughie started to say but Ben slaps him across the face, pretty hard. “Oh...” Hughie gasps then pants as Ben gives him a stern hard look then points at him. “I warned you.” He said, calmly, then he shakes his finger then walks away while Hughie massages his jaw
”Word of advice.” I say to Hughie as I walk up to him and he looks at me. “Don’t believe everything Legend tells you. He’s full of shit just as much as everyone in Vought.” I said and I walk away from him.
*3rd Person POV*
Black Noir continues to sit there, still trying to process everything. Then Buster comes up to him. “Come on, Earving. Me and the others have something to sh-sh-sh-show you.” Buster said and Noir turns to him and the cartoon beaver holds a hand out to him. “C-C-C-Come on!” He exclaims, happily, and Noir gets up from his chair and lets Buster lead him back towards the stage area.
”Something you pushed d-d-d-deep, deep down.” Buster said and Noir sits in the chair. Buster stands on the side of the stage where there was a red curtain and a spotlight on Buster. The curtains open and reveals a gym area with a banner up top that said Vought America, the various animal characters acted as members of Payback. The two horses were the TNT Twins, the goat was Mindstorm, the fox was Crimsons Countess, the pig was Gunpowder, the squirrel was Mystic Shade and the eagle was Soldier Boy.
The team were on the edge of the mat as Soldier Boy and Gunpowder were sparing. But, of course, Soldier Boy beats him up and Gunpowder falls back on the ground, blood pouring out of his nose and mouth. “Okay, that’s enough!” Mystic Shade tells Soldier Boy, who rolls his eyes. “Lighten up. I'm just playing around.” Soldier Boy said, nonchalantly, as Mystic goes to Gunpowder. “You fսcking pussy.” He grumbles as Gunpowder groans.
Soldier Boy turns around and see Black Noir, played by a black sheep, entering the room. “You're late. We started at 3:00.” Soldier Boy said. “I really wanted that movie.” Noir tells him. “The hell are you talking about?” Soldier Boy asked him. “I just got off the phone with my manager. It's a no-go on Beverly Hills Cop.” Black Noir said.
“Oh. That.” Soldier Boy laughs, uncaring. “I was...I was born to play Axel Foley. Why would you say all those horrible things about me to Don Simpson?” Noir asked him. “Jesus, Ben, really?” Crimson asked Soldier Boy, annoyed, and he turns to her and holds a hand out to her. “Zip it, cooze.” He growls then turns back to Noir. “The guy's supposed to be funny. You're not funny.”
“Well, I could've been.” Noir argues. “You're not good enough. Now shut your cock hole and get to work.” Soldier Boy ordered. “But-but wait…” Noir tries to say but Soldier Boy grabs him and starts to punch him, repeatedly. The rest of the team gasp at this and shout at Soldier Boy to stop as he continues to beat Noir up pretty badly. Noir tried to crawl away but Soldier Boy grabbed his leg, pulls him back in and continues to pummel him.
Then Soldier Boy stops the attack and looks around at everyone. “Which one of you wants next? Huh?” He asked as he points around at them. Everyone stands there and looks down while Mystic Shade glares up at him. “Thought so.” Soldier Boy growls but Mystic takes a deep breath, stands up and steps forward.
”I’ll volunteer.” She said, firmly, and everyone gasps, in shock, at this while Soldier Boy raised an eyebrow at Mystic. “Shade, don’t.” Gunpowder said behind her but Mystic ignores him as she stands her grown while Soldier Boy chuckles. “Wow, you are serious.” He said, with a bit of humor in his voice.
”Why not? I’m on the same strength level as you. I can handle it. Plus…I’m not scared of you.” Mystic said and everyone lets out a noise of surprise while Noir kept panting and groan at the pain. Ben looked a little shocked at this while Thomas whispers. “Oh shit.”
”Come on, Soldier Boy. You wanna fight? Or are you too scared that a girl is gonna beat you?” Mystic challenged and Soldier Boy takes a step closer to her. “What do you think you’re doing?” He asked Mystic, in a low voice. “Proving a point to you once and for all.” Mystic said and she gets into a stance. Soldier Boy takes a step back then gets into a similar stance as they stare down each other, like in a western movie.
The duo waited to see who would make the first move until Soldier Boy goes to punch Mystic, who blocks it with her arm. She goes to punch him but he grabs her arm and throws her over to the side. Mystic goes flying in the air, lands on the mat and rolls a couple of times before getting up.
Soldier Boy comes at her, with a fist raised but she catches it but his other fist collides with her face. She then punches him in the stomach as hard as she could, he doubles over and she uppercuts him. The others gasps at this as Soldier Boy wipes his mouth with the back of his hand then he charges at her and they continue to fight.
Mystic ends up on the ground and Soldier Boy on top of her, holding her arms over her head on the ground. “(Y/n), stop.” Soldier Boy ordered her. “Why?” She asked and Soldier Boy doesn’t answer. Taking this opportunity, Mystic headbutts him and he lets go of her arms and she grabs him, flips him over and pin him to the ground.
”If you didn’t want a fight, then don’t ask for it.” Mystic said then she stands up and walks away, the others staring at her in shock as Mysitc leaves the room. The teammates stare at the door, in shock and disbelief at what just happened. Soldier Boy sits there for a moment before he recovers and gets back on his feet.
The others turn to look at him and he glares at them. “I let her beat me. So none of you better be getting any fucking ideas! Understand?!” He yelled, in a commanding voice. The others cower back at this then Soldier Boy walks over to Noir. “As for you…” he growls as he looks down at Noir’s bleeding face. Noir flinches, scared that he would take out his anger on him again.
“You think you can be me? You're not a movie star. You're not shit. I see you getting out of line again, trying to move on up, I will put you in the fսcking ground. Understood?” Soldier Boy threatens and Noir whimpers at this.
*(y/n)’s POV*
We walked through the woods a bit till we came upon a clearing and see a road and hear voices. “Maybe we should walk back to that town we saw.” A female voice said and we get to the road and see a priest and a nun standing on the road, looking into the hood of a car. “It was, like, five miles away. It'll take forever to get there. We're never gonna get to the retreat now.” The priest said as we get closer to them and the priest turns and jumps a little.
”Oh! Oh, you startled me. Are-are you two superheroes?” The priest asked us as we get closer to them. “Yes, Father. You folks need some help?” Ben asked them. “Yes. Yes, please.” The nun said, appreciatively. “Okay, well, it's not safe. There's a fugitive in the area. You should get out of here before you get hurt.” Ben tells them. “Uh, well, we can't. I don't suppose either of you know engines?” The priest asked us and Ben looks over at me and Hughie.
Ben and I stare at each other for moment, not really buying this, before he turns back to the priest. “I'll have a look.” He said and he goes up to the car. “Oh, I'd appreciate that very much.” The priest said as Ben looks into the hood.
“Uh, so, where you guys headed?” Hughie asked them. “We're just on our way to a Samaritan's Embrace retreat over there in Danville.” The priest said just as Ben pulls out his gun and shoots the priest in the head. “Oh! Oh, my God!” Hughie shouts as the nun screams. “Oh, my God! What the fսck?!” Hughie exclaims to Ben. “This is Mindstorm's MO. He brainwashed them. That priest was gonna shank us. And she will, too.” Ben said as the nun kneels down to the priest and cries.
”Wait, whoa, whoa, whoa.” Hughie exclaims. Father Wallace, no!” The nun cries. “Hey, hey, she doesn't look brainwashed to me.” Hughie pleads to Ben. “Take my word for it. Everyone's coming for us. Everyone, every day.” Ben tells him as he goes to aim his gun at the nun but Hughie stands in front of him. “Whoa, no! No, no! You have PTSD! You have PTSD, and you are super fսcking stoned. All right? Maybe this isn't what you think it is.” Hughie said to Ben, quickly.
“Move.” Ben orders him. “She's a human being. A nun. And if there's one thing I know...” Hughie started to say until the nun jumps on his back. “Die, you fսck¡ng cocksuckers!” She screams and Hughie screams. “Oh, my God! Do something!” Hughie shouts as Ben tries to aim his gun at the nun but Hughie kept moving. “If you stay still, I...” Ben said and I roll my eyes then pull my knives out and use my powers to move the knives to the nun and stab her in the back. Then I got a good angle with a knife to stab her in the head.
“Oh! fսck me! No!” Hughie screams as he shoves the nun off of him. “Hard pass on this Exorcist shit!” Hughie shouts before panting. “What's black and white and red all over?” Ben jokes and I turn to him. “Really?” I said as I wave my hand around and the knives pull out of the nun and I grab them. Ben rolls his eyes at me then turns to Hughie.
”Okay, first off, I don't have shell shock. Fuck you. Second, this is what I'm talking about. This is being a soldier.” Ben said as he glares at Hughie then he walks off. “Come on.” He said as he heads into another part of the woods. Hughie whimpers then signs the cross and I go up to him and place a hand on his shoulder and patted it before following Ben.
*3rd Person POV*
“By 1984, things had gotten so bad. There was only so much m-m-more of Soldier Boy's abuse you could take. So when St-St-Stan Edgar made you an offer in Nicaragua, you jumped at it.” Buster tells Noir as the curtains open again and shows the black sheep as Noir and a monkey as Edgar. “Vought's really okay with this?” Noir asked him. “Sometimes, old soldiers just fade away. I don't want the details. Just do what you need to do.” Edgar tells him.
”Why now?” Noir asked. “Vogelbaum has a replacement. Just a child, but they're convinced he'll be stronger than Soldier Boy. And he can fly. Will the others go along?” Edgar asked. “Everyone but Gunpowder and Mystic Shade. Why not take her as well? She’s just as powerful and as invincible as Soldier Boy…” Noir said. “It was considered but…she’s too important. Good luck, Earving.” Edgar said. “Can you please stop eating those in front of me? I'm allergic.” Noir pleads to Edgar, who stares at him then takes another bite of his peanut.
The scene switches to then Soldier Boy and Mystic Shade fighting the Russian soldiers. At one point, Soldier Boy kneels down and holds his shield in front of him and Mystic Shade runs towards him, jumps up and lands on the middle of his shield and he pushes upwards to where she flies in the air and uses her telekinetic powers on her knives to fly towards the oncoming soldiers.
She lands some feet away and continues to fight soldiers when Noir comes up behind her and hits her in the back of the head. She grunts and stumbles forward on the ground then Noir grabs a large rock while Mystic was dazed and confused. “I’m sorry.” Noir mutters then he slams the rock onto her head, knocking her out, and he moves away.
Soldier Boy then comes up and sees Mystic Shade on the ground, knocked out. “(Y/n)?” He asked, concern laced his voice, as he comes up to her to check on her but then Noir, Mindstorm and the twins come up. “What the fսck is this?” He asked, angrily, as he looks at his teammates. “Something we should've done a long time ago, you piece of shit.” Noir growls.
”TNT detonate!” The twins shout and they fire their beam at Soldier Boy and he flies back then he gets up and Mindstorm punches him. Then the team dog piles on him and starts to beat him up. “Hold him down.” Tessa shouts but Soldier Boy was able to knock them off of him. Noir then runs at him but Soldier Boy turns and used his shield to knock him back.
Noir flies back and hits a military car that started to catch on fire. Soldier Boy grabs Noir and slams his face against the burning metal and Noir screams in pain as he felt his skin melt and burn off. Soldier Boy raises his shield and slams the edge of his shield into Noir’s head two or three times before Noir falls over into the ground, passing out from the pain.
Soldier Boy turns around as the twins and Mindstorm get into a stance. “Get him, Mind storm. Scramble his fսcking brains.” Thomas said as Mindstorm uses his power and Soldier Boy grunts in pain as he felt a sharp pain in his head. Then Crimson Countess jumps on his back and put a gas mask over his mouth and nose. Soldier Boy grunts, coughs and gasps into the mask then he falls forward on the ground. But before he felt the gas completely take over, he looks over at Mystic’s unconscious body and his last thought was for him to try to reach out to her. But the gas took away his last bit consciousness and he goes down. “Fuck you, mοthеrfսckеr.” Crimson growls and the curtains closed as Buster appears on stage again.
“This is some tough stuff, I know. But when you gave him to the Russians, you knew Soldier Boy would come back one day. You need to f-f-f-face him. No one really knows you. But we know how s-sensitive and s-s-scared you are.” Buster tells Noir and the other animal characters come in and chimed in.
“Yes.”
”We're here for you.”
”Hey, we got your back.”
”We're here for you.”
Noir looks down. “It's okay. Bravery isn't having no fear. Bravery is having fear, but you d-d-d-do it anyway.” Buster said. “Time to finish what you started.” The birds sing and Noir sits there and takes in a deep breath as he decides on what he was gonna do.
*(y/n)’s POV*
We walked in deeper into the woods until I heard a noise. “You guys hear that?” I asked and the boys stop as we hear what sounds like wind chimes. We head over to the noise and see a large abandoned looking barn and I see Ben taking in a deep breath and we cautiously walk up to the building.
We enter the building and Ben pulls his gun out while I pulled a knife out. We walk, quietly, in and look for any signs of Mindstorm. Ben stops and holds a hand up to us to stop and I look over to see a mirror that was at an angle to where we see him hiding on the other side of this shelf we were leaning up against.
Ben holds up his shield and his gun, getting into a stance. I pull out a blade and get ready but then we heard a pop noise behind us. Ben and I turn around and see Hughie’s clothes were in the floor but he was gone. Then we look towards the mirror and see Hughie grabbing Mindstorm and disappearing.
“Shit!” Ben growls and I sighed. “The hell is that kid thinking?” Ben growls. “He’s probably thinking; this is the only way to save my friend.” I pointed out and Ben sighs. “What a fucking pussy.” Ben grumbles. “I can’t say I blame him.” I said and Ben turns to me. “You seriously taking his side? When you know how dangerous Mindstorm is?” He asked me, angrily. “Yeah, because I’d do the exact same thing if it was you.” I said to him and I turn away from him.
”(y/n).” He said, in a firm tone, and I stop but still had my back to him. “You seem so…different.” He said and I scoff and look over my shoulder at him. “That’s what happens when you retire and lose the person you love.” I commented and he raises an eyebrow at this. “C’mon…let’s go and find him.” I said and we walked on.
Later, we ran across the woods until Ben grabbed my arm to stop me. He points ahead and we see Hughie and Mindstorm and they were indeed by Butcher as it looked like Mindstorm woke Butcher up. At that moment, Ben pulls out his knife and throws it across the air and it hits Mindstorm right in the face.
I was a bit startled at this as Ben runs over to Mindstorm. I follow after as Mindstorm pulls the knife out of his face and Ben slams his shield against him, knocking him down. Then pulls out a pillowcase and wraps it around Mindstorm’s head so he wouldn’t use his powers on Ben.
“Hey, wait, wait, wait.” Hughie exclaims and Ben turns to him then he punches Hughie so hard he goes flying back a few feet. Butcher turns to Ben and his eyes glow yellow. “Stop!” I shout as I put up a shield between Ben and Butcher. “Enough, both of you!” I growled and Butcher glances at me then turns to go to Hughie and I look over at Ben, who glares at me then at Butcher before he grabs his shield. I remove the shield and sighed.
Hughie coughs and groans as Butcher kneels to him and Ben goes to Mindstorm, kneels down and grab his shirt. “Hiya, Dan.” Ben greets him, sarcastically. “It's-it's not what you think. It wasn't my idea.” Mindstorm said. “Oh, I know. It was Noir's, but how does that work, huh? 'Cause no way he makes a fսcking move without Vought.” Ben said. “They gave him the green light.” Mindstorm said, panicked. “Why would they do that?” Ben asked him and I go over Hughie and Butcher.
”You okay, kid?” I asked Hughie as Butcher helps him to his feet. Hughie nods and we look over at Ben and Mindstorm, who seems to be telling Ben something. “What? That's impossible.” Ben shouts and he stares at Mindstorm then he starts to hit him with his shield. Then he does it again and again and again and I see Mindstorm stopped moving but Ben kept hitting him. “Ben.” I said, loudly, but Ben kept smashing Mindstorm’s head in.
“BEN, THAT’S ENOUGH!” I shouted as I go to him. Ben screams out his frustration as he kept hitting Mindstorm until I grab his shoulder and pull him away. “I said ENOUGH!” I said as Ben turns to me with a death glare but I don’t cower back. “He’s dead!” I shout and Ben pants then his glare softens to what looked like shock and disbelief. “Ben? What’s wrong? What did he say?” I asked him but he walks away from me and I furrow my brow and look down at Mindstorm’s dead body, blood seeping through the pillowcase.
That night, we were back at Legend’s house and I was sitting in the living room as Ben was locked up in the bedroom. I ran my hand over my face before I let out a heavy sigh, Ben wouldn’t tell us what Mindstorm said to him but I could tell that he shocked him. I decided to head down to the bedroom and get to the door until I hear Ben on the phone, asking for Homelander.
I stopped at this and lean into the phone. It was silent for a moment before I hear Ben speak. “The situation's changed. I thought we should have a conversation.” I hear him say and there was a pause of silence before he speaks again. “Fall 1980, I get called into Vogelbaum's lab for an experiment, some shit about genetics. I still remember the Penthouse I used. June. Danielle Deneux, bush like a Pomeranian. I beat my meat into a cup. Turns out...Vogelbaum made a kid. Born spring 1981. A boy.” He said and I gasped, softly, at this.
No, no…there’s no way. I thought as Ben continues. “You know what the bitch of it is? If they'd have just kept me around, I'd have let you take the spotlight. What father wouldn't want that for his son?” He asked and I place my hand over my mouth.
I was standing out on the balcony of Legend's house and looking out to the starry night sky, the warm breeze blowing slightly in the wind. I wrap my arms around myself, trying not to have a breakdown after hearing what I heard.
Homelander is Ben's son?! What the actual fuck?!
I bit my lips then let out a heavy sigh, right as I hear footsteps behind me, and I lift my left arm, balled up my fist and lean it against my lips. "There you are." Ben said as he comes up next to me. "You okay?" He asked me and I sighed through my nose.
"I just overheard your phone call." I said, plainly, and I turn my head to look at him. He doesn't say anything, just looks down for a moment. "Of course. The biggest, egotistical, attention seeking psychopath had to be your son." I spat, annoyed. "Don't tell me you're mad at me." Ben said, sounding annoyed himself.
"I'm not mad at you, Ben." I said, sharply, as I turn to face him. "I'm mad a Vought! I mean, after everything you do after they asked you to do it, that's how they treat you? Take your DNA then get rid of you to have this supe kid to replace you?!" I exclaimed, angrily. "It's bullshit."
"I know. If they would've told me about him, I would've gladly stepped down and let him take over." Ben said as I wrap my arms around myself again. "We could've had that retired life we talked about..." he said and he and I look at each other. "I, uh...remember that one time, I told you I wanted to have a family?" He asked me and I nodded. "Well, I wanted you to be that woman. I wanted, still want, you to be my wife, have my children. Hell, after Nicaragua, I was gonna ask you to marry me." He said and my jaw drops slightly at this then I turn my head away as my heart feels heavy at his words.
"What? What's wrong?" He asked me and I bite my lips again. "Do you...not want that?" He asked me, sounding a bit worried, but I turn my head to him. "No, it's not that. I would love nothing more than to have that life too. It's just..." I stopped then sighed as I look down. "There's something I have to tell you." I said. "What is it?" He asked me and I take in a deep breath and let it out.
"After Nicaragua, I was a total mess. Everyone else acted like everything was normal after we had a funeral for you. I was actually scared that if the Russians were able to kill you, then I could be next. And then...a couple of weeks later, I found out I was pregnant." I explained as I look at him and Ben's eyes widen in shock at this.
"What?!" He asked, surprised, and I nod a bit. "You...you were...pregnant?" He asked and I nod again. "When I found out, that was when I retired from Payback. I didn't want any stress about being a superhero or that I could be sent somewhere and be killed. So I got a home and did everything I could to stay relaxed and be ready when the baby came." I said and my heart was beating hard and fast against my chest, my stomach started to feel sick as I got ready to explain what happened next.
"But a month or two later, I had a miscarriage. And I felt horrible because I lost the only connection I had with you." I said as my eyes filled with tears. I go to look at him as a tear runs down my cheeks. He had a shocked but also sad and disappointed look on his face. "I don't really like talking about it, so....all I'll say is that, I was just in a very bad way for awhile." I said and Ben gives me a sympathtic look, which was a look he barely would give.
"I'm sorry, (y/n). I should've been there for you." Ben said and I give a small sad smile. "You being a comforting type? Doesn't really sound like you." I said, in a bit of a teasing manner. "Like I told you before, you're the only one that gets to see this side of me." Ben said and I scoff out a chuckle as he places an arm around my shoulder and we stand there in silence for a few moments.
"Sounds like both of us need a drink." He said and I nod. "Alot of it." I added and we chuckled before we head back inside.
We sat in the room and drank and talked for a bit before I chuckled a little as a memory appeared in my mind. “What?” Ben asked me and I turn to him. “So, you were planning on proposing to me, right?” I asked him and he nods. “Yeah…” he said and I chuckle. “But I thought…” I said then I started to mimic him singing. “If you want to be happy. Living a king's life. Never make a pretty woman your wife.”
He scoffs and rolls his eyes as I continue to laugh. “Yeah, that’s true. But I neglected to account for a pretty woman like you getting me while my shield was down. I’ve never been quite the same since our first night together.” Ben said and I smiled at him as I felt my face turn red. “Plus when I did that song, we weren’t together.” Ben said and I chuckled. “Oh, yeah, we’ve broken up so many times I’ve lost count.” I said.
Ben laughs with me and I give him a curious look. “How the hell are we gonna keep a marriage if we keep breaking up?” I asked him and Ben looks me over. “Because I’ve had way more time to think this over and it was one of the only things that kept me sane during the times the Reds experimented on me.” Ben said then he looks down.
”I wish I still had the ring.” Ben mutters and I frown before I reach over and place a hand over his. “It’s okay, Ben.” I said and he gives me this look like he was thinking something over. “What?” I asked him and he shakes his head slightly. “Nothing, just…lost in thought.” He replied then he takes a sip of the drink and I don’t push further as I know how he gets when you push on a subject he doesn’t want to talk about.
So the rest of the night we spent drinking and talking, with the worry of what’s to come plagued the back of my mind.

I sat in our usual spot—under the willow tree, where we hung out every day. Only this time, I was left alone. I was worried for my friend, since he had never stood me up in the year that we had been so close. Pursing my lips together, I glanced down at my watch, my heart fluttering with worrisome anxieties as I pondered where my friend could be. This wasn't right.
Standing from my spot, I stretched my limbs, which were all tight from how long I had been sitting in the same place. Then I fled from the area, leaving to look for Syzoth in every spot I could think of him being in.
I went to his home first, figuring that maybe he was unwell and needed some rest. I approached the door, raised my hand up to it, and then knocked three times. But to my disappointment, there was no answer, merely silence. After a few minutes, I raised my hand to knock on the old, worn wood once more. But after heaving a sigh, I lowered my hand, accepting the fact that my friend was not home but missing.
But just before I went to turn away, I heard something from within the walls. It was the sound of stirring—someone was inside.
"Syzoth?" I called out, hoping he would answer my worried voice. However, no more noise was heard after that. My anxieties were growing more intense, as if I felt the horrid gut feeling of a bad omen. I called for him one more time. "Syzoth, I can hear you in there!"
After being ignored again, I could no longer keep my anxious thoughts at bay. Every terrible possibility flooded into my mind, and I just had to see that my friend was alright. So I decided to break an important boundary and opened the door before cautiously entering the home without permission.
Leaving the door open, only the light from outside allowed me to see. No sunlight beamed through the windows—as they always did—since they had been covered by blankets. This worried me since Syzoth was never a believer of curtains due to needing the heat of the sun on a regular basis. Worry grew into an intoxicating panic as that pit in my stomach ate away at my nerves. Something had to be wrong if he was willingly keeping away from the light.
But then, a strange sound filtered through the darkness, greeting my ears and beckoning my curiosity forward. It sounded similar to the whimper of a saddened puppy. Hesitantly, I followed the distressed noises down the narrow hallway, which soon brought me to a door—his bedroom door.
Without much thought, my fingers curled around the handle, gripping it firmly and twisting it open. Being submerged in pure darkness—the light of the opened front door not reaching this newly uncovered room—I turned to grab a candle and match off of a nearby table. Syzoth always kept candles near each door in his house to light his way once night was upon him. There was no electricity in Outworld, so the people of the realm relied on the light of flames to see. Syzoth liked this because of the added heat it would provide him once the sun would fall to slumber each night.
I struck the match against the wick, igniting it and creating enough light for me to see. When I did this, I was finally able to see the curled-up figure of someone hiding under a mountain of blankets on the bed. The pile was trembling slightly, as though something from within was scared or hurt.
"S-Syzoth?" I called softly, fear and concern breaking my words as I spoke.
"Leave me be!" He yelled angrily. Though the blankets muffled his dry and scratchy voice, the pain was clear within it.
"Sy—"
"Go away, (Y/N)!" He cut me off, not wanting to hear what I had to say.
Despite this, I still cared and wanted to know why he was in such a state. So as much as he didn't want me to, I was going to pry until I got an answer.
"Syzoth, what's wrong? You're worrying me!" I pushed as tears pricked the corners of my eyes. He must have heard the worry in my voice, because after I spoke my confession, a sigh was heard from within the blanket pile. Just moments later, Syzoth's head poked out of the blanket. The glow of the candlelight kissed his flushed skin instantly, sweat glistening in its light as his teary eyes adjusted it.
Then he climbed out of the blankets to stand before me, seemingly having difficulty standing. It was as if his life had been drained from him, and the sight broke my heart in several pieces.
"It was just a year ago today that I found out my wife and son were murdered by that putrid sorcerer." He admitted bitterly, his voice cracking at the very end of the sentence. He hung his head, as if all the guilt festering in his mind had grown too heavy for him to carry. "I tried to save them, but I failed them."
"Syzoth, you know that wasn't your fault. You tried to save them." I consoled the grieving Zaterran. He turned away from me, walking forward to lean his head up against the wall. I could hear the quiet sobs emitting from him as his whole body began to shiver, the pain being like a cruel blizzard for the man.
"Everything is gone!" He cried out while slamming his fist against the wall. I jumped, startled by his sudden outburst. But deep down, I knew he would never hurt me—this wasn't about me. After heaving a trembling breath, he continued. "My family, my home—all because of this stupid curse! If it wasn't for this, I would have never met that bastard, and everyone would be at peace!"
"I know," I whispered as I slowly approached him from behind, setting the candle down on the table beside us to keep the room ignited in its glow. Then, I cautiously placed my hands on his tense shoulders before moving them down to wrap my arms around him tightly. "I know..."
We stayed in that warm embrace for quite a while, just listening to each other breathing in the silence of the room. Eventually, Syzoth turned in the embrace to face me and gaze down at me through his tears.
"You're all I have." He whimpered quietly, his hands moving up to cup my cheeks tightly as if to keep me from slipping away.
I raised my hands to his cheeks as well and began to gently caress the soft flesh before raising myself onto my toes so I could press my lips to his tenderly. It was a spur-of-the-moment thing; I barely gave it any thought—an act done on instinct. It didn't take long for him to melt into the kiss as well, his arms wrapping around my frame to hold me close to him.
Perhaps he found my warmth comforting. Whatever he needed, I would provide it for him. I couldn't take all of his past pain and suffering away, but I could ease it today—at least for a little while. Once we broke away from the kiss, he was quick to press his forehead against mine, like he needed as much physical contact as possible in the moment. And I was happy to give that to him, pressing my body into his as my arms wrapped around his toned form once more.
"What do you need, my sweetheart?" I asked in a tone just barely above a whisper, not even wanting to risk raising it a little bit and adding to the headache he would have from crying.
"You—I-I-I need you." His voice was now needy—desperate, like he craved nothing more than my touch. Was I shocked by his declaration? Yes... No... Maybe a mix of both? I didn't think too much about it because it simply did not matter. All that mattered was him and the road to healing from his trauma.
"Then take me." I breathed, no longer caring about the title of friendship—the line that sat between that and romance, which we had been dancing around for a year.
The next thing I knew, I was being backed up to the edge of the bed, only to be pushed down onto the soft mattress behind me. My weight instantly flattened the blanket fort, but it added a lot more comfort to the surface.
The next few minutes were a blur. All I remember is me and Syzoth, caught in a passionate assortment of kisses as our limbs tangled together in a hot mess atop the bed. I don't even recall the removal of our clothes, but once they were gone, it didn't even matter.
Syzoth moved a hand down between our heated bodies, pressing his index finger against my clit to rub it in quick circles. I moaned against his lips as his fingers struck each and every one of my little nerves, building up the electric feeling of arousal within my core quickly.
When my light arousal passed the border to ecstasy, he removed his digits from my mound to sink them within my core. His lips did not falter on my own as he scissored his fingers in my canal, stretching my walls apart to make room for a new presence.
And when that presence finally filled me, I saw fucking stars.
I gripped his shoulders tightly as he sank each thick inch into my heat slowly, the stinging sensation being too much to bear at first. But his gentle and sweet touches were the greatest contrast to it. After waiting a moment to allow me to adjust, he began to thrust. My walls hugged him perfectly, so desperate to milk him of all he had already. And he felt this as well; I could tell by the way his head fell to rest on my shoulder as a strained grunt tore from his throat.
His thrusts were slow and gentle, but still deep and intense. And it wasn't until my name began spilling from his lips repeatedly like a prayer, that I realized that we weren't having sex—we were making love.
Then, the pace of his hips bucking into my own grew a little faster as he clenched the bedsheets in his fists. I could feel his dorsal vein pulsate, his tip twitching with need, and I knew it meant that he was close.
"I love you... I love you... Please don't leave me..." He whimpered his pleas, his voice sounding like a saddened puppy once more.
It hurt me to see him like this—so broken and run down from life. He didn't deserve any of it; his heart was too good—too pure. He reminded me of an angel with broken wings—one that wanted to be happy and fly but couldn't due to the damage. I wanted to fix that damage for him, and I wouldn't give up—I would succeed.
"I won't, Syzoth—I'll never leave you." I promised, enveloping him in my arms and keeping him close. Shortly after, he released himself within me.
He broke down crying when he came, and I wrapped one arm around him—my hand rubbing slow circles over his back—as my other hand raised to cradle his head against my chest. I didn't even bother to shush his cries—as usual people would—since I knew that he needed to let it all out. I didn't cum, but that was okay; my focus was mainly on him and what he needed the most.
"You're a good man, angel. You deserve all the joy the world has to offer." I murmured softly before pressing a gentle kiss against his hair. As I laid there with him in my arms, I made a silent vow to myself that I would stay by his side no matter what from this day on—I would do whatever I could to heal him.

Just a Guy in a Bar
The sun sunk below the horizon giving the Barite a nice orange glow and that same firey glow to the water. You walked in and took your seat at the bar that wrapped around the mouth of the fish ship. The Barite was a perfect venue to you, a nice bar with plenty of space for dancing and a live band, and it was neutral ground for you and your crew to wind down after a long seven months on the grand line.
Once the sun had been replaced by the moon, the Barite was lit with candle light inside and outside, giving the ship a golden aura to shine off the navy blue water. You sat at the bar twirling your drink in your hand, you felt a slight tickle on your cheek of a feather, confused you turned and realized the back of someone's hat was completely invading your space "uh- scuse me" you said tapping the strangers thick leather jacket. The stranger turned around, revealing his piercing yellow eyes that were focused like a hawk - or, like a really wine-drunk hawk from the looks of it. "Mihwak?" You said surprised."What are you doing here?"
"A warlord isn't allowed to go out for a drink?" He said sitting next to you. "I should be asking you, what are you doing here" Mihwak chuckled holding a wine glass in his hand as he leaned against the bar.
"Okay your clearly drunk and super out of character right now" you chuckled putting your hand up as if to catch him if he toppled over.
"I am not drunk" Mihwak said like a white girl who had too many tequila shots.
"Alright" you said in defeat.
"(Y/N) right? How is your life of pillaging and plundering?" Mihwak said smirking darkly.
"You gave up that life remember Mihwak" you chuckled looking the warlord up and down. "You payed a visit to Shanks didn't you?" You smirked and then realized the warlord become defensive.
"A child has a 30 million bounty" Mihwak said "a child Shanks knows well"
"Yeah. I know that child" you chuckled. "Why are you here getting Wine-Drunk, because Luffy is worth a whopping 30 mil?" You asked curiously.
"Were getting old" Mihwak admitted, which caused your face to soften. "It's only a matter of time till the Luffy's and the Zoro's of the world become better than us old dogs and faze us out. Some day everyone will be a warlord and everyone will be an emperor and none of these silly titles will matter" Mihwak simply put- slurring his words a little. This was a surprise considering he was normally, such a well spoken man.
"I don't think warlords will matter in the future Mihwak- the world government-"
"I know, is the enemy. Shanks told me all about how I betrayed the pirates by giving up my bounty to serve a greater purpose" Mihwak said almost falling into you, you put your hand out to catch him, touching his fair, hot skin.
"Mihwak, let's go somewhere more quite, maybe you could sober up a bit" you chuckled taking his arm and leading him to the back dock of the Barite. The area was quiet but you could still hear the band faintly. You looked over at the water, how the moon made the navy blue ocean twinkle, it was almost magic to you. The magic was slowly interrupted when Mihwak attempted a graceful seat next to you which ended up with him stumbling and spilling wine on himself.
"Fuck" he muttered. You laughed, realizing you've never herd him swear before. "What's so funny Dove?" He said in his proper voice again.
"Shockingly- you" you giggled. "A great and powerful warlord is sitting next to me, soaked in wine... and wine drunk like a middle aged house wife" you laughed looking at his serious face which slowly erupted into laughter as well, you watched as his eyes crinkled and his yellow orbs were just barley visible his laugh was beautiful, and it almost took your breath away.
"I told you- I'm getting old" Mihwak sighed. "Sometimes I wish I was just- some guy in a bar. And not- rewnoned swords man" he sighed looking out at the ocean, your features softened as you leaned back to be on the same level as him, your hand was placed on his leather jacket. Your fingers tapping on his chest.
"Your not old." You simply said. "Your still the same old Charming Mihwak. The only difference is- your not trying to overthrow the government" you giggled watching his lips curl up into a beautiful smile.
"You think I'm charming?" He said his eyes darting between your eyes and lips as he began to lean forward a bit.
"Mihwak-" you put your hand up to his lips "as much as I really want to kiss you right now- I can't take advantage of you" you said, regretting the fact that deep down you cared for the swordsman.
"I'm not drunk" Mihwak said smiling. "It was an act" he chuckled looking at you. You looked at him too stunned for words. "I just wanted to get close to you" Mihwak admitted. You felt heat creep up your neck and onto your face, you knew you were bright red by now. "(Y/N)? You really wanna kiss me?" Mihwak said with a smile.
"Well, when I thought you were drunk and you weren't gonna remember what I said. Uh yeah" you laughed awkwardly.
"Hey- I'm just a guy in a bar" Mihwak said as he gently brushed your hair back with his fingers and cupped your face, his gentle touches sent shivers down your spine as he pulled you into a delicate, passionate kiss.

Tommy was gone. Tess was gone. Bill and Frank were gone. Lianne was gone.
Lianne was gone.
Joel is alone. Alone with a fourteen year old girl, tasked with trekking her across the country for the “fucking Fireflies.”  The one thing he had hated about his brother. The one thing he prayed Lianne wouldn’t fall in with. And it had sucked him right into it.
Joel and Ellie had spent the night nestled in the woods a few miles from Bill and Frank’s house. Joel sipped on the coffee that was promised by Lianne.
How long had it been since Lianne was at Bill and Frank’s before Joel found them? Did she know already? Had she stayed with them until the end? How close behind her were Joel and Ellie?
Ellie had stuck her nose into the percolator to take a strong whiff, turning pale in a recoil at the smell. She let out a wretched noise, contorting her face in disgust as she quickly closed the lid to the coffee percolator, pulling Joel’s attention back to her.
He twists to look over his shoulder, brows shooting up as he examines her scrunched face.
“You don’t like coffee?” Joel asks the young girl, voice gravely in a gentle surprise.
“Is this that shit they used to sell at Starbucks in the QZs?” She had asked him, face still scrunched in a pained grimace.
“It was a lot fresher than this, but yeah,” Joel had responded, voice barely above a gruff grunt.
“You ever go there?” Ellie continued quizzically. “Before?”
“Not really to Starbucks, but to smaller coffee shops,” Joel answered, voice becoming softer. “My wife liked the local-”
“Your wife?” Ellie perks up, face contorting into a whole new expression of surprise. “You? Married? Dude, why haven’t you said anything?”
Her words fall upon deaf ears, Joel turning from her with a grunt.
A memory of her floats across his vision. The golden rays of the morning sun seeped through the cafe window to cast a warm glow around her. Her cheeks were pulled into a smile, full and rosy, laughing at something Joel had said. His thumb had traced the swell of her soft cheeks, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear. Her warm and forgetless eyes shined bright, crinkled in the corners.
The thought of her made his stomach turn.
“Forget it,” he chides in Ellie’s direction. He’d let it slip, the mention of Lianne. He had wanted to bring her up earlier, when he and Tess first met Ellie and she had asked if the two of them were together, or when they first reached Bill and Frank’s. He especially wanted to talk about her when he didn’t know what the fuck to do, and knew that she would have the answer. Wanted to bring her up just to keep the memory of her fresh in his mouth. But he had kept his tongue bit, wanting to keep her separate from this journey, as much as his body and soul ached in longing for her to be beside him. She would know what to do. She would know where to go. As much as she would keep him on his toes, she would be there to keep him grounded and his mind level.
—-
Weeks had turned into months of radio silence. The group that Lianne had left with all that time ago no longer existed; people giving up the fight and dying off. And still no sound of Joel.
Lianne had made it to that safe house in Nebraska about a week ago. In the beginning, she cleared out the town of any infected, ensuring her safety and isolation. Evening passed and morning came - that was the first day.
She spent what was left of the few remaining candles the first night. After a night of cold darkness with no electricity, Lianne had found some more candles in an old store down the road. The main floor of the house glowed warm, dozens of candles lighting the windowsills, climbing the way up the staircase, and above the fireplace mantle.
“Let there be light,” she had whispered to herself, a bitter chuckle escaping in harsh breath. She watched the stars that night, just like she had all those years before. And like those years before, a single satellite traced its endless orbit across the sky. And again, it was a beacon of something that was never changing in an ever changing world. And she wished for Joel.
Evening passed and the morning came - that was the second day.
The walls had begun cramping around her. The boarded up windows seemed to pound at her skull. So she’d found an old hammer and began ripping the boards from the window panes, letting the white sunshine flood the first floor.
The breeze chilled her skin as the sun soaked her bones, and she let herself lay on the wooden floor to bask in the sun. She wanted to find window panes in the old store down the road to replace the no-longer-windows, but installing them wasn’t in her skill set.
That’s a job for Joel, she had thought to herself.
Joel.
And it hit her like a freight car, a tsunami wave crashing over her and pulling her to the bottom. Grief and guilt and pain and sorrow and frustration and guilt and grief and guilt. It ate at her, gnawed at her soul, clean through to her marrow. And she let it eat her, at first. He never left her mind, not for a moment, not for a second. She bargained with herself, any attempt to convince herself that she made the right decision. Joel was still at the QZ, safe and alive and helping Tess.
And then she began to pray. To pray for Joel to be there, to be anywhere. To be there in Nebraska with her, or at the QZ in Boston. Just to be alive, anywhere. She prayed for the will to go back to Boston and find Joel in their apartment, to beg him for forgiveness for letting herself leave without him. To beg him for forgiveness for leaving him.
Evening passed and morning came - that was the third day.
Curtains made from mis-matched and discarded sheets waved in the windowsills, the breeze becoming colder as the winter truly set in. A fire burned constantly under the mantle, and Lianne kept bundled in wool sweaters and a blue suede jacket. She had built a home in the safehouse in Nebraska, a home she often thought that Joel would like to share with her, if they had ever gotten the chance. She sits on the porch, cheeks red from the cold air. Her stomach is full and she is safe.
When she slept at night, she thought of him so hard she swore she could feel his arms wrapped around her, reaching for her through the wall.
And she thought of Sarah. A cavern formed in her chest daring to rip itself in pieces with the emptiness. Longing for those moments in time where the only feared bite was that of a mosquito.
Evening passed and morning came - that was a countless day.
It was the middle of the night when one of them broke in, snarling and rotten and climbing up her with rotten teeth. A hoard had followed, swiftly overtaking the house. The curtains were pulled from the windows with ragged fingernails.
She had tipped the bottles of kerosene over in the fight, drawing the hoard to the center of the house, before making a break to dash outside. She lit the end of a rag soaked in a liquor bottle and threw it to the house. The few that followed her outside were slain in a moment, but she knew more would come. She stood still for a moment, becoming a witness and watching the fire before her. Her feet pushed her tired body through the snow, sprinting westward through the night at an unstoppable pace, her lungs burning and threatening to burst.
Evening passed and morning came - that was the last day.
—
It was the smell he noticed first, nose crinkling at its harshness as he and Ellie walked through the woods. There’s this smell, like rainwater, burnt grass, burning plastic and, rotting wood, rotting… something. The smoke from a burning fire had been wafted through the air and into the woods where the two of them were.
“What’s that smell?” Ellie said, nose turned up in equal disruption. “Is something on fire?”
“Yeah,” Joel responds, a brief cloud of smoke catching his eye above the treeline. It doesn’t hit him at first, a sense of nervousness slowly washing its way over him. It breeches upon him like a warm wave, begging to drag him under. The forceful movement of his legs is the only thing keeping himself from sinking into the feeling.
They break from forest, the treeline receding from them in the background, as they further themselves into a clearing that has since been overgrown with brush. Joel comes to a halt, Ellie almost bumping into his backside with her lack of attention, before she stands right outside his peripheral.
A feeling Joel hasn’t felt in many years overwhelms him. It creeps through him at first, an icy cold freezing its way through the veins of his arms. Paralyzed and eyes wide, his heart thumps heavily in his chest. His eyes scan the doubly deserted town in front of him, the town in the middle-of-nowhere Nebraska that he, Tommy, and Lianne had built a safe house in. The safe house that lingered at the edge of the town, just far enough away and just close enough. The safe house that was now a smoldering ash, the roof of it collapsed in on itself, smoke from past flames lingered in a plume.
Joel begins to break through the brushed clearing, Ellie instinctually following him as he pushes his thick legs through the tangled vegetation. She only fell still when Joel’s pacing became incessant, his face locked in a scowl as his brows folded over his eyes, but the whites of his eyes still showed in panic. She stood there watching, helpless, as Joel’s racing mind materialized into endless, pacing circles around the crumbling house.
Charred, black bodies littered the foundation of the exposed house. Joel’s gut began to churn at his inability to tell if they had been infected or not. Or if she could be one of them.
Ellie’s incessant badgering of unrelenting questions barely registered to Joel, her words brushing over him as his ears rang.
“Was your wife supposed to be here?” Ellie called to Joel, and he finally stood still.
His haunched hackles pulled back as he squared his chest, lifting his head taller, as her words finally hit him. His glowered lifelessly into the distance, vision focusing on nothing as the edges of it fuzzed black, before he turned around to march back to Ellie. His shoulder brushed hers, and at his closeness Ellie could finally see the blacks of his eyes.
“We’re done here,” he growled as he pushed past her. And she’s right on his tail again, questions picking back up from where they left off, even though she knew she’d only be answered with silence. But still, she persists.
He continues to march them westward into the dipping sun, not stopping when Ellie begs for him to let them rest for the night. He’s silent, the crunch of dried leaves and feet on hard snow drowning out Ellie’s voice to his deaf ears.
It elicits something in Ellie, the smallest prick of fear not about Joel, but for Joel. When they’d lost Tess, Joel had remained silent until Ellie confronted him, urging him to work out his shit. But now was different; the air around him was hostile, walls never seen before barricading him from her. There was no key to unlock Joel, no way to break down that wall he unknowingly forced back up. The strongest of flames couldn’t lick away at his walls.
With Joel pushing them as far into the night as he can, Ellie fears he might not make it back from this one. It doesn’t get him until the next day, a fearsome grip clasping around his heart and squeezing with a vice so strong it has him gasping for breaths. He’s doubled over, hand resting on a tree as he grips at his jacket in an attempt to relieve his lungs. Ellie’s panicked words are drowned out by the sudden ringing of his ears.
I’m okay, he mumbles repeatedly, trying to convince himself as he levels his breathing.
“But are you okay?” Ellie asks, her voice finally breaking through to him. “Because just a reminder that if you’re dead, I’m fucked.”
Joel only grumbles a response, something that sounds like he’s okay, that it was just the cold air all of a sudden. Ellie watches him rise from the tree, her heart pounding just as quickly as Joel’s. It created a fear in her, one that sparked as a tiny flame in her chest, and she wouldn’t let it grow further than that, not wanting it to burn the whole forest down and take the two of them with it.
—
Joel held his brother in his arms. When Tommy was born, Joel was one of the first to hold him. The immediate sense of protecting and belonging overtook him then, holding his tiny brother in his arms. The world gave Tommy to Joel to protect and to save, and Joel will kill to succeed.
He held his brother in his arms now, again, decades later in the middle-of-nowhere Wyoming. A hug like the first, of love and disbelief, and of never knowing of the chance to do it again. Joel had found his brother, after months of on-foot travel across the country, he found his brother, and the hope that came with it glistened brightly in his eyes.
And now, Tommy was taking care of Joel. Filling his stomach with warm food, welcoming the young girl Joel traveled with with generous hospitality, and letting him relax in the protection of Jackson.
“How ‘bout a tour?” Tommy asks, finally, the question gnawing at him since his brother arrived. Tommy’s wife, Maria, had sat rigid next to him, eyes staring Joel down. The tension rose in him gradually as he watched his brother and Ellie scoop copious amounts of food into their mouths. “Somethin’ I think you’re gonna wanna see.”
Tommy and Maria led the way down the main street of Jackson, Joel and Ellie lingering a few paces behind them as they followed. Dozens of people lined the street, shop owners leaning against the entrances to their stores as they lazily waited for customers. Shouts of children down the street were cheery and free. Joel’s senses were in overdrive, vision becoming tunnel-like as he tried to focus on what Maria was saying.
“So are you, like, in charge?” Ellie speaks up as they pass what Maria told them was a church of multifaith.
“No one person’s in charge,” Maria begins to explain. “I’m on the council. Democratically elected, serving 300 people, including children. Everyone pitches in. We rotate patrols, food prep, repairs, hunting, harvesting. Everything you see in our town… the greenhouses, livestock, is all shared. Collective ownership.”
“So, uh,” Joel chirps up. “Communism.”
“Nah,” Tommy lets out with a scoff. “Nah, it ain’t like that.”
“It is that,” Maria interjects matter-of-factly. “Literally. This is a commune. We’re communists.”
Tommy hesitantly looks back at Joel, casting a dejected gaze towards the ground. Joel’s eyes glint with amusement, casting a smirk towards his grimacing brother.
“Tommy!” A voice calls from somewhere behind them. “Wait up a second!”
Joel swears he’s made it up, the voice calling for Tommy only in his head. It’s a voice Joel would know anywhere. Even in death he would have the melodic voice memorized, praying it would be the last sound he heard. It sounded foreign at first, like a long lost memory that lingered on the tip of his tongue leaving a heavenly aftertaste. Only, he heard this voice in his dreams, kept it with him daily in fear of ever forgetting.
Tommy was the first to turn to face the calling of his name, and Joel the second, eyes scanning the town square to see where the possible voice came from.
A woman stands on the other side of the square, hand raised in the air in a wave. Her cheeks are rosy and full, pulled up into a smile, and her eyes twinkle in the sunshine. When she knows Tommy sees her, she turns to quickly finish a conversation with a man next to her before making her way towards them.
When her gaze shifts from Tommy to his brother, she freezes in her tracks, the small smile fading quickly as her face goes pale.
Joel’s heart thuds loudly in his ear and his tunnel vision returns, locking on her. He blinks, convinced she’s a mirage, a hallucination, an angel appearing before him. But she stays planted, and Joel feels faint. A blush creeps along the tips of his cheek, turning him crimson and his neck begins to burn.
He remembers her, all those years ago, an unknowingly frightened thing in the road, eyes glistening as her hands shook with her emptied pistol. How she had been a complete shell of any part of her that used to be.
She stands there, now, put together, and from a distance is seemingly untouched. Her cream, knitted turtleneck stands out compared to the navy canvas jacket that blends in with the darkened buildings of Jackson. Her dark hair curls around her shoulders as if she’s taken the time to put a curling iron to it, scarce strands of silver wisp their way through it.
Her breath had hitched in her throat, before becoming almost ragged as she took small, stuttered gasps.
Their hearts stutter in their chests like two doves in two cages, screaming to be let out. The rhythm pushes against their chests, pulling at their ribs to finally move their feet forward. Joel doesn’t move until she takes her first steps, and his knees buckle under him as he finally steps towards her. His feet land heavily on the ground below, but he feels as if he’s walking on air.
Two waves crash against each other, tectonic plates shifting in the core of the earth, as the two of them finally collide. Limbs wrapping around them, hands latching into place to hold each other close.
“The house-” Joel starts, pulling back to let his eyes desperately search hers as he holds her face in his hands.
“I know,” Lianne gasps. “The radio- You stopped-”
“I know, I’m sorry,” Joel whispers, only to her, hands desperately brushing the hair out of her face to make sure she’s still real. “I left a message…”
“It doesn’t matter,” she smiles the smallest, most gentle smile, and oh, how his world spins. A smile not seen in years, a smile that shines bright, a smile that pulls at her cheeks and pulls the corners of her eyes into crinkles. A smile that has Joel’s eyes shining with the beginning of unfalling tears.
He knew he had no right to touch her, crave her like air, but he did both. And when he put his mouth on hers, he recognized the taste of her, like she’d been made just for him. And he kissed her. He kissed her with all the power he could muster, making up for the months, weeks, days, minutes, seconds their lips hadn’t been touching. And finally, finally, it felt like her world was no longer burning around her. The forest fire within her subdued in his arms.
“Why didn’t you tell me about her as soon as we got here?” Joel asks Tommy, brows furrowing in mock-frustration, but the curl at the corners of his lips says otherwise.
“Figured we should get some food in ya first,” Tommy says with a slight smile. “Didn’t want the old man collapsin’ on us.”
“We can give you two some time to catch up,” Maria says, her smile friendly but her gaze still hesitant towards Joel. “Make that man get a shower. I’ll take Ellie to our place where she can freshen up, get some warm clothes.”
Joel’s focus remains solely on Lianne, he doesn’t hear Ellie’s quiet and confused protest when she calls out his name.
“You’ll be fine,” he says softly, finally turning his gaze to the young girl. She still stands there, frozen, with Maria gesturing for her to follow. “Go on, you’ll be fine.”
“Wait,” Lianne murmurs, barely above a whisper as her eyes finally connect on Ellie’s hunched figure. Lianne’s eyes gleam in interest as they gauge from the young girl and then back to Joel. She nods to Ellie as she asks, “Who’s this?”
Joel turns, almost too quickly, to look at Ellie. Her face is pale with nervousness, cheeks rosy from the chilled air. She’s looking at Joel with pleading eyes, silently begging him for some kind of reprieve as her thumb picks at her ratted glove.
“Ellie,” Joel says softly, the whisper of a smile in his voice. “Lianne… This is Ellie. Ellie…” Joel’s voice falls short, head turning as he looks back to Lianne to make sure she’s still there. “This is Lianne… my wife.”
“Oh…” Ellie murmurs, brows raising in realization. “Well, shit. You didn’t say she was-”
“Ellie-” Joel grunts at her in disapproval, but the sweetening sound of the laugh from the woman next to him has his gaze pulling to her again. Lianne gently brushes past him, a faint but warm smile radiant on her lips, and gently sticks her hand out as she reaches the young girl.
“Hi, Ellie,” Lianne says gently. “It’s nice to meet you.”
Ellie’s voice is barely above a murmur as she greets Lianne in response, eyes casting down towards where their hands meet.
“How’d you get on Joel’s good side?” Lianne asks the young girl, a teasing lilt to her voice.
Ellie only smiles awkwardly, eyes shifting past Lianne towards Joel.
“I’ll explain,” Joel says. “Later.”
Maria approaches Ellie again, continuing to lead her away from Joel and Lianne. Joel only gives Ellie a nod, reassuring her that she’s safe with Maria. Lianne quietly leads Joel back to her house, a house that she can’t help thinking of the possibility of becoming a home with Joel.
“So,” Lianne finally says, a gleam in her eyes as she turns in Joel’s direction. “Who’s Ellie?”
Joel rubs at his hands, thinking of a response to give her. So, he tells her that Ellie’s cargo, some Firefly big-wig’s daughter he’s taking out west. He lies to her, and she knows it. It will have to do, for now.
“Surprised Tess ain’t with y’all,” Lianne responds simply. She teases him by adding, “Before I left, told her to keep you in check while I was gone.”
Joel slows his steps before finally coming to a stop. Lianne continues a few paces before turning back to check on Joel. Her smile fades when she clocks his expression. His brows are furrowed again, eyes not willing to meet hers as he casts them away to his feet. When he finally meets her gaze, his dark eyes are soft and somber, pools of regret swimming through a current to beg for forgiveness. A grip takes its place around his throat, tightening until it choked him.
When his eyes meet hers, she knows Tess is gone. And all she can do is nod.
“How?” She asks.
“Got bit,” Joel finally pulls the words from himself. “Saved me and the kid, though.”
“Good,” Lianne responds again with a nod. “That she saved you.”
Joel nods, too.
“Bill and Frank, too,” Joel says. “Got your message ‘bout you stayin’ there, thought I’d stop by too with the kid after… Tess. See if you’d maybe be there. Bill left a letter.”
Lianne stands quietly for a moment, grinding her teeth and chewing the inside of her lip.
“I’m sorry,” Joel offers, quietly.
“Me too,” is all she says as she nods again, before turning to lead him further down the street to her house. “Frank was in pretty bad shape when I was there.”
It’s a two-story house, like the one in Austin. Unlike the house in Nebraska, the porch doesn’t wrap all the way around the four sides of the structure. Instead, the dark fencing of the wooden porch is shortened to cover half of the front of the house, stopping where it connects with gray paneling. Another porch matches this one on the back of the house, facing a well-sized backyard and renovated garage. A white picket fence outlines the perimeter of the property, and Lianne had chuckled when she first moved in at the idea of that cherry-pie kind of life.
Lianne leads Joel in through the front door and the smallest hint of clean laundry mixed with old coffee wafts through the air to soak into Joel. It could make him breathless, the trigger of a memory of their home in Austin flashing briefly before him, only to be replaced by the dim surroundings of this unfamiliar structure.
“Do you, uh, wanna shower or anything?” Lianne finally speaks, scratching mindlessly at a spot on her cheek. “Not sayin’ you need one or anything.”
“‘S a good idea,” he replies quietly. “I’d appreciate that.”
Lianne only nods and leads him up the staircase to the second floor. She pushes a door open on the right, and a sunlit room with a simple spread is on the other side. A bed with linen sheets and a blue patterned quilt, a pile of worn clothes tossed over a chair in the corner.
Her bed is made, only one side sloped in and the edges ruffled, while the other side lay perfectly neat and barren. A side saved for him.
“I feel like all this ain’t really mine,” she says, almost as if she’s explaining her tidiness. “Gotta keep it lookin’ nice for Maria.”
Joel chuckles softly, a whisper of a laugh, watching her sweep a hand over the quilt to soothe out a wrinkle, before she’s back in front of him.
“So,” she starts again. “Who really is Ellie?”
“She’s immune,” the words are out of his mouth before he can even think to hold them in. His eyes widen in panic, while Lianne’s stay calm and curious.
“To what?” She asks, just a breath away from a confused chuckle.
But Joel stays silent, and her brow furrows.
“She’s immune,” she repeats his words slowly back to him.
“It was Marlene,” Joel starts, mouth moving faster than his braind. “She hired us to smuggle her to some Fireflies. I’ve seen the bite on her arm. I’ve seen her get bitten. And that was months ago. She’s immune.”
Lianne only stares at him, his words rolling through her head like a pearl. He can see the gears turning behind her eyes, the scale of judgment of belief or disbelief. His heart pounds in his chest, that fear coming over him again in an icy grip.
“Okay,” Lianne replies. Her voice is soft, eyes warm again as she looks up at Joel. “So what’s next?”
“I don’t know,” Joel breathes, the words falling from him on a gasp.
“Okay,” she says again.
She reaches instinctively to help Joel from his canvas jacket, fingers gently pulling the fabric from him as if the slightest move would spook him like a wounded animal. His gaze follows her movements, soft eyes never blinking her away as he continues to track her. She finally slips the sleeves off his wrists, and the broad expanse of his shoulders takes her breath away. When she finally looks up to meet his eyes, they reflect that same longing and lonesome she’s found herself in since September. The softness of his dark eyes remind her of October, of a chill that can only be subdued by the warmth of him.
She puts her hands on either side of his face, and the room falls away. Joel had always gotten lost in the kisses shared between them, but never quite like this, like a fever taking its grip. And then, the space between them explodes. His heart keeps missing beats and his hands cannot bring her close enough to him. He tastes her and realizes he’s been starving and it burns him alive.
Maybe it lasts a minute, maybe it’s an hour. Joel only knows this kiss, how soft her skin is when it brushes against his, and that even if he did not know it until now, he had been and would continue waiting for her forever.
“I should shower first,” Joel whispers as he forces himself away from her lips. His forehead remains pressed heavily against hers, just as his fingers dig into her hips.
“I don’t care,” she whispers back, latching herself onto him once more before he can pull further away.
His hands are back on her, cupping her face to hold her closer, breathing her in, trying to clear away the fear that she’s not real. She maneuvers them closer to the bed, Joel shoving off her blue suede jacket as her hands push and pull and search across his flannel. Her hands only leave him to pull her turtleneck off and throw it to the floor, revealing a haphazardly buttoned white blouse.
Closer to the bed, she’s pushing him gently to sit, and he obliges. In quick timing, but not quick enough for Joel, she straddles him. His hands immediately land on her waist, strong and heavy, and he pulls her closer on his lap. His hands lose themselves in her hair, entwining themselves with it to pull her into his mouth.
She kisses him ravenously, the want of each other in the way of flesh wanting to knit itself together over a wound.
She wondered if he had hated her, when she first left Boston. If he hated her for leaving him there alone, no family but Tess, without the only thing to keep fighting for. If he hated her for her short and shitty messages she left him, or the shitty excuse she gave when she left. She wondered if he hated her, and prayed that she’d never know the answer.
She pulls the white button-up tauntingly slowly from her shoulders, the warm sun illuminating her exposed chest as he watches her. A stab of hunger came over him, and he found nourishment in the very sight of her. The blouse drops to the floor behind her, and her chest expands with a pull of wanton air.
His fingers reach up, ghosting along the skin of her chest to leave goosebumps in their wake. He has to drag his eyes to meet hers, and when she sees them they’re black and hungry. His hands wrap around her waist, eyes never leaving hers, as he grips her close to him and flips her over onto her back. She’s pinned between him and the mattress like a flower pressed in a book.
His lips are on her chest, hungry, wet kisses covering the skin there. He loved her like a rotten dog, drooling and painting and messy. Loved her like his canines were falling out of his gums; like a monster, like a beast.
She’s wrestled him out of his clothes, the tip of his throbbing cock nudging against the inside of her thigh. He had rocked himself into her hundreds of times, thousands even. Each time different from the last, and just as good as the first. It presses into her wetness, and he holds back from sinking his teeth into her. He could let go right now, just having her underneath him again. She keens for him, hips begging to be split.
Their bones whisper to each other: Where have you been?
I’ve been lost but I’m here now. You’re the only person who has ever been able to find me.
His body is on fire, a fever taking over him as he finds himself nestled within her. The tip of him kisses the deepest part of her, over and over, and she’s panting beneath him. Her hands latch themselves in his hair, grounding herself to him as he loses himself in her.
The air is hot and sticky, suffocating in the small space between them. The airway is narrow, any breath reaching their lungs a soothing relief.
She says his name, over and over, like it’s the only word written on the pages. Three more heavy thrusts and she’s undone, unbinding herself as she comes around him. Her hand claws into his shoulder, pushing him away and holding him close. Sharp gasps are pushed from her chest, and he breathes them into himself as he rests his cheek against her own. Her back arches, breasts pushing further into his chest. Her pussy squeezes his cock, and the haze in her eyes has him coming inside her.
He nestles his cheek against her chest, hips coming to a slow still as he stays inside her. A lazy hand runs through his hair, the sweat-damp strands cooling to her rough fingers. They let each other rest, soaking each other in, leaving mindless kisses on each other’s skin.
He finally pushes himself off of her, taking the weight off her chest. He rolls to his side away from her and runs a hand down his face. A soft chuckle comes from her behind him, and he looks over his shoulder to see her flushed state. A smirk grows across his face, and she runs her hand down the length of his back. When her hand leaves him, she pulls her arm back to herself, a solemn look overtaking her features.
Joel’s smirk drops, a slight frown creasing his brows.
“What?” He calls to her softly.
“I just want to forget,” she says quietly, arms crossing over her stomach.
“What do you want to forget?” he asks, voice soft as he still looks at her over his shoulder, fingers reaching out to trace the edge of her face.
Everything. She wants to forget ever leaving Joel, every moment that had passed without him near her. She only wanted to know Joel, to breathe Joel, to feel Joel.
He watches her eyes, leaning down to press a soft kiss to her swollen lips, eyes never leaving her face.
“How can you even forgive me?” She whispers, and he pulls away from her only to look in her eyes, nose bumping gently against hers, and her chin tips up achingly for the return of his lips. He drags his lips to her forehead, planting a kiss on her damp skin.
“Because I thought about you,” Joel responds. “Every day and every night. You know there’s nothing you could do that I wouldn’t forgive you for.”
His lips return to her skin, nipping gently at the skin of her jaw. She was his darling, never to be unloved by him, too well tangled with his soul.
And they make love again - Lianne used to say as she would tease Joel in fake mockery at his use of the term - until the room became golden and the sun hung lower in the sky, hot tears slipping from the edges of her eyes down to her ears to make their home on the pillow. Until she was able to forget.
Tommy had been the one to interrupt their brief bubble of paradise, his fists knocking on the front door and luring the two of them down the staircase. That’s how Joel found himself sitting in a bar, the Tipsy Bison, running his hands over the wooden counter, his girl sat at his side while his brother poured him a drink, for the first time in since who knows when.
“Been a long time,” Joel murmurs, mostly to himself, as he continues to admire the handiwork of the bar top.
“So, what’s up with the kid?” Tommy asks, unable to hold in his curiosity.
Joel takes a sip from the glass in front of him, the bite of it burning down his throat with a wince.
“Tryna find her family somewhere out here,” another lie. “I was headin’ in this direction anyway, so…”
“Really?” Tommy asks, brows raising in surprise. “Goodness of your heart?”
Joel stares aimlessly into his glass, and Lianne shifts in her seat next to him before swallowing her drink.
“There’s a payment,” Joel says gruffly. “So, you know where they might be? These Fireflies?”
Tommy shakes his head slightly at his older brother, the smallest hint of disbelief laced across his face.
“Well,” Tommy starts with a sigh. “Heard they got a base down at the University of Eastern Colorado. It’s a week’s ride south. But it is severely fucked up between here and there. Infected… Raiders… It’s not exactly an easy trip.”
“It’ll be easy for us,” Joel says immediately, looking between Lianne and his brother who remains behind the bar. “Seeing as how you can headshot infected from half a mile away. Which is a bunch of bullshit, by the way.”
Tommy finally takes a slow, long sip of his drink, gulping it down harshly with gritted teeth. He slowly shakes his head.
“Yeah, I can’t go,” he says slowly, eyes peering up through his lashes at his brother, afraid of his reaction.
“Oh, come on,” Joel persists. “I made it across the country. The three of us can make it from here to Colorado.”
Tommy only sighs, looking briefly at Lianne with eyes pleading for help.
“Hey,” Joel says harshly, getting Tommy’s attention back on her. “What, cause your wife won’t let you?”
“Joel,” Lianne’s voice calls to him from his side, a warning in her voice to cool it down.
“She the one that kept you off the radio? Is that why you stopped messaging me back?” Joel presses.
“They’re good people,” Tommy finally interjects. “Didn’t have to take me in, but they did. All they ask is that we follow their rules. They’re very protective of this place, is all. And for good fuckin’ reason.”
“No, I heard,” Joel bites. “Wrong people might show up… Is that what I am? Am I the wrong people?”
“Joel,” Lianne warns again, this time with a sigh.
“Those things I did,” Joel can’t help the river of relentless words that spill from him. “Tommy, those things that you judge me for, I did those things to keep us alive.”
“We did those things,” Tommy agrees. “But they weren’t ‘things.’ We murdered people. And I don’t judge you for it. We survived the only way we knew how, but there were other ways. We just weren’t any good at ‘em.”
Joel rubs a hand down his face, rubbing the gruff hair that lines his jaw. When he opens his mouth to respond, Tommy interjects.
“I’m gonna be a father,” Tommy says, letting it out as if he had been holding his breath.
And Joel freezes. He lets his head drop, letting it shake back and forth as he lets out a scoff. Tommy’s face turns red, and his jaw clicks as he squints his eyes at Joel.
“You know what?” Tommy says harshly. “Just because life stopped for you… Doesn’t mean it has to stop for me.”
Lianne snaps her attention towards Tommy, mirroring him in a squint of disbelief. Joel only remains silent. His eyes go cold as he swallows the rest of his drink, the glass landing heavily back onto the countertop as he pushes himself up from his stool.
“We’ll grab some supplies and be outta your hair in the mornin’,” he grunts before pushing his way to the door of the bar.
Lianne stays planted, gaze remaining piercing on Tommy. His head is hung lowly in instant regret, eyes peering up to meet Lianne’s gaze. Neither of them say anything, and Lianne has to steady herself from flaring smoke from her ears. She pushes herself from her spot at the bar, making her way to follow Joel.
“Lianne,” Tommy calls after her.
“Don’t,” she stops him, boots heavy on the wooden floorboards as she continues her way outside.
Joel isn’t far from the entrance of the bar when she finds him. He’s bent over, hand gripping the wooden post of a street light right outside the bar. Lianne’s pace quickens as she approaches him, her heart dropping to her stomach when she sees the pale state of him. He’s breathing heavily, fast and gasping breaths fogging in the Jackson sunlight.
“Hey, hey, hey,” Lianne murmurs, immediately resting her hand on his back. “Joel, what’s going on?”
Joel’s hand that’s gripping his chest latches on to her, finding the nearest part of her to bring her closer and hold himself steady. His eyes were glazed, but the tears from the stinging cold kept them sparkling in the sun. He can’t hear her ask if he’s okay, the panic slicing through her voice, his ears ringing again as they did in the woods. Her hand replaces where his was pressed on his chest as she begins to rub soothing circles, trying to get him to stand upright to better get breath in his lungs. She watches his eyes, noticing their locked on something further away, so she follows his gaze. When his breathing finally steadies, Lianne catches a glimpse of a head of dark curly hair amongst a group of people further down the way, and her breath hitches for a moment. The woman in the town center bends down, handing something to a little girl with the same hair. Lianne’s heart breaks when she turns back to Joel.
“I thought the same thing when I first got here,” she says softly, watching Joel take full breaths. “But she really doesn’t look anything like her.”
“She could’ve, though,” Joel finally says, and it breaks Lianne further.
“I’m sorry, Joel,” she whispers.
“I’m okay,” he says, trying to reassure himself. “It’s okay.”
Later in the night, the two of them found themselves in a tiny storefront, renovated into a shoe repair shop that was almost always empty. Joel had wanted to fix his torn boots himself, the soul of them peeling from the bottom to reveal his toes. Lianne had insisted she could trade something for a better pair for him, but he refused and refused, insisting he could fix them himself. Joel hadn’t seen Ellie all day, accidentally allowing her to get scooped up by Maria and roped in to a community movie night at the town’s center.
A swift breeze of the cold night air swept through the store as the door opened, a bell jingling as Tommy appeared through the threshold. He smiled awkwardly as he approached the couple, his shoulders tense as he kept them close to his ears and his hands in his pockets. Lianne turned to return his smile before resuming her watchful position on Joel.
“The guys said I might find you here,” Tommy says as he continues his way over to them, steps slow with caution as he approaches his brother.
Joel looks up to look at his brother, but quickly resumes the work on his boots.
“I shouldn’t have said what I said,” Tommy continues with a sigh. “I don’t even believe it. It’s complicated for you… And I’m sorry.”
Joel stays silent, this time giving a look to Lianne who quirks an eyebrow at him in return.
“So you gonna let me off the hook, or what?” Tommy presses.
“This ride to the university,” Joel speaks up suddenly. “Is it a suicide mission?”
Tommy doesn’t answer right away. He looks to Lianne, his composure slightly taken aback in the shift of conversational direction.
“No…” Tommy starts slowly. “It’s dangerous, but it’s nothin’ you can’t handle. Just prepare and do what you do.”
“You’ve had people go that way and come back?” Joel asks again.
Tommy nods. “All of ‘em,” he responds, crossing his hands over his chest. “What is this?”
And Joel tells him, from the beginning. That the leader of the Fireflies hired him and Tess to smuggle her out. After Tess, it was just the two of them. And in Kansas City, Ellie had to save Joel. His face fell suddenly, paling at the memory, eyes growing glassy with tears. He froze then, words coming to a halt, just as he did that afternoon. Just as he did in Kansas City.
“I was so afraid,” he mutters. “I’m not who I was. I’m weak.”
It takes everything in Lianne to not break at the sight, to hold his sweet face in her hands and kiss away the worries. Her heart thrums loudly in her chest, drowning out the sounds of Joel’s words as he continues.
“You want me to take her,” Tommy says, face soft in understanding.
“I’m just gonna get her killed,” Joel says, voice breaking as he forces the words from his mouth. “I know it. I have to leave her.”
Tommy and Lianne share a knowing look, the conversation having gone in a direction they are too familiar with.
“This is your chance to bring your kid into a better world,” Joel continues, eyes pleading and voice begging. “You’re younger than me, still strong. You said it yourself, you’ll come back. You have to take her.”
Tommy sighs, looking around the room before his eyes fall to the floor.
“Tommy, you’re the only one I trust. It’s the last thing I’ll ever ask of you, I swear.”
Tommy looks back to his brother, then to his brother’s wife. She looks equally as broken as Joel, her gaze never leaving him, with her lips turned in a hard frown.
“I’ll take her out at dawn,” Tommy replies.
Back in the house, voices are raised behind the walls, anger laced and spitting with venom. And all Lianne can do is pace her bedroom. She chews on the nail of her thumb, heart pounding as she waits for Joel to return to the room. The voices grow louder, until they’re finally silent.
A door slams, and heavy footsteps grow louder as they step down the hallway.
The door to Lianne’s room swings open, Joel’s gaze falling on her as her pacing comes to a stop. He slowly closes the door, latching it softly behind him.
He slowly brushes past her, squeezing her hand in passing, before planting himself on the edge of the bed. His head hangs, his hands rubbing circles into his eyes as he rests them on his knees.
“Joel,” she says quietly, kneeling in front of him. Her hands rest on his knees before coming up to rub along the length of his arms.
“I have you,” Joel says suddenly, his eyes pleading to her, his voice trying to convince himself. “That’s all I need.”
“I don’t think that’s as true anymore, Joel,” she says softly, a knowing gleam in her eyes, and his gaze falls to his lap. “You need that little girl, Joel. Just as much as she needs you. You gotta see this through with her.”
“I just got you back,” Joel replies, voice cracking under the weight of his words. “I can’t leave you again. Ain’t lettin’ you outta my sight.”
Her crumpled face mirrors his own, eyes glossy and brows furrowed, as she takes his face in her hands. The rough pad of her thumb ghosts over the dry skin of his cheek, and he can’t help but close his eyes at the feeling.
“Then I’ll come with you,” Lianne says, her words definitive. “If you’re sure that’s what you’d need, I’ll go with you.”
He takes her hands from his face, running over the lines of her palm that etch across her skin before softly planting his lips onto her calloused palms.
Lianne laid on her stomach, head fuzzy with sleep. Joel’s hand was splayed on her back, resting lightly above her hip. But he was ridgid next to her. The quiet of Jackson made his head buzz, the ceiling above him swirled in his vision.
She rolled her head towards him, a soft hum radiating from her as she pulled herself closer to his warm body.
“Sleep,” she mumbled, pulling him into her. “It’s safe here.”
She knew what he was feeling, a bit all too well. Like the walls would fall away and they would be back in the middle of the woods, exposed to the elements and the Infected, one twig snap away from a nearing death.
“You can sleep,” she says. “Sleep in my arms.”
He felt warm and familiar. He felt solid and safe. But there was something different about him after all their time apart. A man changed, a man who now had less anger in his heart. An anger that had festered for so long, entwining itself with him, that had now been replaced by something all together different. She wanted to cling to his shirt, bury her face into the warm curve of his neck, and never let go. She kissed his neck and shoulders, feeling faint from loving him so much.
Lianne woke up while it was still dark. Joel had only stirred briefly as she left the bed, quickly falling back asleep once he heard the running water of the shower, the smell of her lingering on her pillow lulling him to sleep.
It was the toss of her towel on her empty spot in the bed that jerked him awake, eyes snapping wide as he remained frozen. His side of the bed dipped behind his back as her fingers ran softly down his arm. He turned with a groan, reaching out to land his hand on her waist.
“Get a groove on, Miller,” she said softly, hand now brushing the hair from his face.
“‘Time is it?” He groaned again. “‘S still dark.”
“Almost dawn,” Lianne replies in the quiet of the dark. “So get up, get dressed. We’re goin’ to the stables.”
That was half an hour ago. The golden sunrise had begun to creep over the snow-capped mountains. Joel’s breath lingered in the morning air as he contemplated Lianne’s decision.
“I just ain’t sure about this,” he says, hands still adjusting the straps of the saddle.
“At least give her the choice,” Lianne tries to persuade.
Only another moment of silent shuffling passes before the crunches of footfall approach the stable. Tommy and Ellie round the corner, and the young girl stops in her tracks when she sees Joel, a look of disdain weaved over her.
“You came here to say goodbye, or something?” Ellie tosses sharp words in Joel’s direction.
“No,” Joel says as he grinds the toe of his boot into the dirt. “We came here to steal these horses and go.”
“I would’ve given you one,” Tommy chirps with a soft shrug.
“I know,” Joel says, still keeping his eyes to the ground. “Anyway, that was thirty minutes ago, and I guess…”
His voice trails off when he finally raises his eyes to Ellie. Her glare is sharp and her jaw is set.
“You deserve a choice,” he finally says. “I still think you’d be better off with Tommy-”
His words are cut off as Ellie shoves her sleeping bag into his arms.
“Let’s go,” she says bluntly.
Joel nods slowly, a soft and assured okay leaving his lips. He helps Ellie up onto his horse, letting her take the reins as he leads them out of the stable. Lianne follows behind on a horse of her own as they head to Jackson’s main gate.
Tommy gives the three of them directions to the interstate, a small yet knowing smile on his face as he says goodbye to his brother.
Lianne travels quietly alongside Joel and Ellie, taking in the rambling conversations of the young girl and Joel’s short but giving answers to her. Ellie’s convinced him to teach her how to shoot the rifle Tommy gave them, and to Lianne’s unsurprised surprise, Joel has given in to the young girl.
The three of them find themselves in a small, grassy opening off the side of the road. Joel’s set up a target a few dozen yards away with some old socks stuffed with grass, the word ASSHOLE written on it for encouragement. Ellie complains and complains, saying the target’s too small, or the rifle doesn’t aim right. Joel rolls his eyes, arching his brow in discontempt at Lianne who gives him an amused smile. Joel takes the rifle from Ellie, willing to prove it’s just a skill issue. He talks her through the process, words slow and heavy as he readies himself.
“You gonna shoot this thing or get it pregnant?” Ellie asks with a smug smirk, and Lianne can’t help but chuckle quietly from the otherside of Joel. Again, Joel raises his glance to Lianne, a look of disappointment that can’t be wiped from him as Lianne nudges him knowingly with her elbow.
Joel readies himself behind the rifle again, and not a second later has a hole blasted through ASSHOLE. Ellie drops the binoculars she was holding in disbelief, the smug smirk once on her face completely gone and transferred to Joel.
“You dick,” she hisses slowly.
The three continue on horseback, the sun lowering in the sky. Ellie had braved enough to ask Lianne about herself, who she was before the outbreak, how she met Joel (which Joel changed topics immediately), which Ellie followed up with asking Lianne what her role was in the Boston QZ.
Lianne found herself happy to answer Ellie’s questions, giving as much of herself to her as she could. The feeling of making up for lost time had taken hold of her thoughts, feeling she needed to be on the same level of Joel in connection to the young girl.
A warm yellow silhouetted the three, riding over rolling hills and dipping into shallow valleys. Lianne rode ahead of them, stopping atop a high mound of land to take in the sunset. Joel stopped next to her, crinkled eyes softening as he watched her. She sat content on her horse, warm sun dripping off her like honey. She turned to him, cheeks pulling into an equally warm smile as her cheeks rosened. Joel couldn’t help but mirror her smile, and when Ellie peeked out to Lianne from behind Joel, the young girl joined them in a toothy smile.
Ellie could be the hope for all humanity, hope for the future of the world. But the three of them right here, in this sunset, was all the hope Lianne found she needed.

My Soul
No one said loving a vampire would be easy, especially not one who is tortured by his past and his present. Your love for him is eternal, even though you cannot be with him forever... Or can you?
pairing: vampire!seokjin x fem!reader
genre: vampire au, established relationship, smut
word count: 3.8k
warnings: vampire bites 😏 (i went crazy with that, sorry not sorry), dom seokjin/sub reader, unprotected sex, oral (f), praising, possessiveness, blood kink I guess 🫢.
a.n.: omg, i couldn't stop. eventually i did, lol, but please i hope this won't get ignored. 😔
'He is half of my soul', you said to your parents. 'He knows me by heart, he knows me more than I know myself'. They tried to hold you back, but they couldn't, to be whole, you have to be with him. You fled, you ran away with all the conviction in the world.
You knew where your love was hidden. Hidden from society, hidden from humans because no one wants to understand him. No one but you. You're the only one who accept him as he is; a blood-thirsty creature from the deep darkness.
He's not dangerous, no, he's only a man damned to live forever alone. 'Why do you bother to be with me, darling? Why do you do that to yourself?', he told you one day and you responded without any hesitation, 'I love you so much, I cannot be with anyone else. Staying by your side is the best decision I have ever made in my life.'
It was the best decision and still is, but you wonder sometimes if love can last eternally. You don't want to leave him. Though, one day you'll have to. As cruel as it is, vampires are immortal. Seokjin can't die, unless you rip his heart out of his rib cage. No matter how strong you love him, he is with you until your death, and he will suffer, more than you could ever imagine.
You joined him in the large and cold mansion he occupied for a hundred years. You share a house with him, yet, you spend your days - nights - searching him through the manor. He wakes up when the night falls and sleeps when the sun rises. You try to follow his biological clock, but your human-self needs to see the natural light.
So you search, you search... Opening each door, lighting every candle, calling his name during hours. The manor is big, immense. He had a hundred years to adapt to the place, you had less than eight months.
Maybe this is what it's like to love a vampire. It's not easy, nobody told you the contrary, but you thought that perhaps he'd show you his world. It feels like he's scared to take you with him, locking himself up in his office or in the library.
After all, he drinks your blood every two days, he sinks his fangs into your flesh, he makes love to you while sipping this fluid that nourishes him out of your body. You gave up on your life, you left your family behind you to live the big love. You don't regret it, of course you don't because no one else makes you this happy without even proving to you their existence daily.
But you want him to trust you and believe in you. Believe that you don't see a monster in him, only a beautiful angel who found himself trapped in the body of a cold hearted vampire. This is not his fault, this is who he is and no matter what he has done in his past or what he will do in his future, you will stand by his side for the rest of your life.
The night has fallen, the stars in the sky are shining and the air is cold. You shiver, walking into the hall, your feet stepping on the red carpet longing the floor. You tried the library, but you didn't see Seokjin there, so you are heading to his office. He hasn't eaten in two days already and he might be hungry. You know he won't come to you, you have to find him yourself.
He's ashamed of who he is, he doesn't like to take your blood, but at the same time it procures him so much pleasure - every time he takes a bite, he regains all of his energy and power. He says he doesn't like being a vampire, that sometimes he'd rather starve himself than drink your blood.
In reality, he hates being dismissed by humans. He hates being different, hates how people are scared of him when he was one of them once upon a time. He wasn't born like this; he had a mother and a father like everyone else, yet they think he's devoid of any humanity.
You knock on the wooden door, hearing a chair being pushed against the floor and footsteps approaching. You hold your breath, preparing yourself to see him. You came early in the morning, at one o'clock approximatively, only to not miss him. He never leaves the manor, but the whole place is practically a maze in which you have to find the exit in order to spend a night with the love of your life.
The doorknob turns and the door opens, letting you see Seokjin for the first time today. He looks tired, his black hair is messy and his bangs cover his eyes. His plush lips are red, tainting towards the colour violet, missing cruelly the warmth of your skin. He has on a black dress shirt that shows a little bit of his clavicles and is tucked into his trousers. A belt accentuates his tiny waist and his shirt hugs perfectly his large shoulders.
"Hi." You greet him softly, a smile crowning your lips. He eyes you up and down and you shiver under his intense gaze. "Can I come in?" You ask, even though you could do whatever you want here, after all you share this house with him. You prefer to ask anyway because you know how much Seokjin likes to be in peace and work in silence.
You notice him clenching his jaw, maybe trying to get the pain away; his teeth must hurt since he didn't eat in two days. You wonder if the pain is amplified by your presence and your smell. He probably feels the thirst more intensively with your blood running through your veins a meter away from his fangs.
"Of course." He responds calmly, stepping aside for you to walk in the room. You pass by him, looking at the half-moon shining through the windows. His desk is right in front of them, his drawing and painting materials scattered all over it. He closes the door behind him, following you as you observe the scene in front of you.
A canvas is supported on an easel, a small table settled aside of it where a jar filled with paint brushes and a painting palette are placed on. You look at the canvas, recognizing the face of someone with feminine features. The painting is half-way through finished and you think the woman presented might be you.
"It's beautiful." You turn around toward Seokjin, seeing him shoving his hands into his pockets. His gaze is set on you, but then it shifts to the painting. He walks until he's beside you, looking at his work, analyzing each part of it to find any detail that could be interpreted as an imperfection. "Is that what is taking all of your time? Making you forget that you have to eat?" You question him.
He sighs. "Perhaps." He says, stepping to his desk and leaning down on it. You follow him with your gaze, seeing how his skin glows under the light of the moon. He looks like a prince, a prince from heaven you would affirm if you didn't know he was a vampire. "I'm not hungry."
You can't accept more lies from him. You can't stand there, facing him, when you are the witness of his own descent to hell. "You know you are, Seokjin. Don't you think I see how you ogle at my neck?" You move closer to his leaning body, his fingers gripping the sides of the desk, knuckles turning white.
A part of you wants him to take what's his, to take you and your blood, to mark you as his and only his. He needs to eat and you don't care about the stupid morals he tries to stick to. You understand his pain, you understand how he regrets what he's done, but there's a point where he must accept who he is. He might be a vampire, he still thinks like a human.
"Don't come closer." He warns you once you are a meter away from him. He closes his eyes, inhaling through his nose as he tries to keep control of himself. Your smell invading his nostrils doesn't facilitate the task, though.
"Why? Will you bite me?" You dare to say, well aware that it's what is going to happen. "Seokjin..." His name rolls on your tongue, leaving your mouth pleading and desperate. "You don't have to be afraid of who you are." You assure him, disobeying him as you step closer.
He doesn't respond, he looks at you, he listens to what you have to say. It won't be done overnight, but you'll help him, that's why he's your soulmate. If he's not complete, you're not either.
Your body reach him and he has to hold himself back from following his vampire instinct. You glare up at him and his lips tremble, his eyes are glossy, he wants to keep you away from the beast he thinks he is. You lay your palm on his cheek, the warmth of your skin contrasts with the coldness of his own.
"Because I'm not." You murmur to Seokjin, his muscles tensing up at your contact, closing the gap between you two. "I'm not afraid." You repeat. Your breasts are pressed against his chest, your hair gracing the side of your neck where he usually digs his canines in.
He leans in unconsciously, his desire stronger than his morality. Your lips brush against his, giving you goosebumps and making your heart beat faster. "You should be, darling." He whispers against you and his breath fans across your face. You missed having him this close to you, so close you can hear him breathing.
You close your eyes, feeling his plush lips softly laying down on yours. He kisses you and positions his hands on your hips, fervently rocking your two pelvis against each other. You back away, leaving Seokjin to stare at your lips. "I love you the way you are." You confess, even though that's not much of a secret.
He crashes his mouth on you again, this time rough and impatient. His way of saying 'I love you more', you suppose. This breaks your heart a little because you can't love him forever, the contrary of him. He can and he will, you know it.
His large hands run up and down your sides as your arms are secured around his shoulders. The thin material of your robe allows you to feel Seokjin's touch more distinctively, as if there is nothing between his fingers and your skin. You can feel his rings poking your flesh, leaving bruises all over your hips.
He touches you like he's discovering your body for the first time again, but he knows it like the back of his hand. Your body is his sanctuary, his most precious property, a sacred object he has to keep safe. This is ironic because when he bites you, he feels like he's ruining you.
His right hand slides up on your body, feelings the curves of your waist and breasts, and cups your jaw. He makes you look at him, his slender fingers poking your cheeks as he holds you tightly. His skin is cold, but you love it, you love having it against you. It reminds you that as long as you're alive, you'll be with him. Always with him.
"You don't know how you make me feel." He whispers and you close your eyes a second to enjoy his breath against your face. "You don't know..." You open them again and you see that his pupils are dilated. You feel like a prey under him right now and you shudder, the adrenaline running through your veins, excitement bubbling in your belly.
You gasp out of surprise when you feel your feet leaving the floor, Seokjin raising you up, your thighs around his waist. He turns you both around and lays you down on his desk. All signs of control are gone and you're totally at the mercy of the vampire.
He unties the belt of your robe, revealing your naked body to his hungry eyes. He groans when the scent of your arousal reaches his nose. He inhales your smell deeply and he turns crazy, completely forgetting any sense of rationality he has.
He kneels to be at the same level of your crotch and his head dips between your thighs. He nibbles the skin of your inner thighs, licking and sucking like it's his last meal. His large hands hold up your thighs for you, kneading the flesh as he leaves wet trails on your skin.
"Mmh-!" You whine when you feel sharp teeth brushing against you as sloppy kisses are left over your thighs. You lift your head up slightly to watch Seokjin and you moan out as you notice his fangs shining under the glow of the moon. You throw your head back against the wooden surface, his tongue now licking your clit.
He swipes his tongue from side to side, creating friction and making you wetter than you already are. Your fingers instantly find his fluffy head of hair, gripping on his black locks. He slides his pink muscles through your folds, your walls clenching around nothing as he comes back again to lap at your sensitive bud.
Your hole is quivering while Seokjin focuses on your clit, sucking on it quite relentlessly until he replaces his mouth with his index and middle fingers. You buck your hips when he begins to do circular motions on your bud, pressing on it and sending waves of heat between your legs.
You don't mind the change, but you understand why he did as he gives you open-mouthed kisses on your inner thighs. You shiver when he gently bites your flesh, not sinking his teeth in, only chewing on your skin. He prepares you for an eventual bite, teasing by poking you with his canines.
"Jin! Oh- God." You arch your back at the sudden pain going through your body, tightening your grip on Seokjin's hair. His fangs slowly enter your skin, piercing through it like a sharpened knife. The stinging pain is intoxicating - familiar at this point, giving you the pleasure that you needed.
You feel your blood being sucked up out of your veins to nourish Seokjin. His canines are severely sunk into the flesh of your inner thigh while his fingers are still working on your clitoris. The knot in your stomach tightens rapidly and he quickens the pace on your bud, sending you over the edge.
"Aah... Yes, yes..." You moan, your thighs trembling around his head, pelvis moving frantically against his hand. You squeak when you feel his fangs pulling out of you, leaving two bleeding holes on your thigh. He massages softly your clit to drive you off your high as he eyes your wound he made to you, watching the blood dripping down your meaty flesh.
He grips your thighs and pushes them back, exposing your pussy to him. He licks up your cuts, collecting the red fluid on his tongue. The metallic taste linger on his taste buds and he savours each second of it, swallowing everything til the last drop.
You know it's not enough for him even though you already feel dizzy from the lack of blood. He needs more, the veins in your thigh are not big enough for his thirst. It's not the first time he bites you there, the placement feels intimate and is perfect during sex, arousing the both of you. But since he went two days without swallowing anything, he might go in for more later.
He then stands up, hovering over your weak body. "You're delicious, love. So fucking good..." He praises before he kisses you and you can taste the remains of your own blood. You wince at the unpleasant flavour, but after all those times, you got used to it.
The stuff that was previously on the desk is now on the floor as it fell during the moment he was eating you out. Seokjin can't bother less, immersed into the luxury of having you displayed like that in front of him.
He unbuckles his belt anxiously, his eyes filled with lust as he looks down at you. He passes the leather material through the metal loop, unbuttoning and unzipping his trousers. You bite down on your lip in anticipation, wanting nothing more than his hard cock into you. You can clearly see the large bulge deforming his briefs and you salivate at the sight.
He pulls out his erection out of his underwear, lowering his bottoms down his thighs. His dick bounces up gracefully, hitting the soft silk of his dress shirt. You love how he doesn't care about undressing, so eager to feel his cock wrapped up by your tight walls. "Shit, darling. So wet for me." He states, glancing at the wetness dripping out of your hole, running down to your ass. "I'll fuck you good, I promise."
You whimper when he slides his tip through your slicks, parting them open to make an entrance for his cock. He pumps himself a couple of times, spreading your juices over his dick as you stare at it in awe. Seokjin is painfully long and a bit curvy, capable of hitting you in the right places. Each time he enters you, he does it slowly and it feels like a never-ending agony.
"Please, Jin." You quietly plead, knowing that a man like him demands to be begged. He always gives you what you want when it comes to sex.
With a hand enveloping the base of his shaft, he sinks into your wet cunt inch by inch. He hisses when he bottoms out, your pussy completely filled with his hard cock. "Fuck, you take me so well, sweetheart. So well..." He breathes out, staying still for a moment before he goes out until his tip is only in.
Your legs are hanging on his shoulders, meaning that when he'll thrust in, you'll feel him deeply inside. He wastes no time to pound into you and your boobs bounce on your chest from the hardness of his strokes. "Jin!" You scream his name, gripping the side of the desk tightly to not get pushed away by Seokjin's dick pumping into your pussy.
"That's it, yell my name like it's the only thing you know." He groans when you contract your walls around him. "Scream it because you're mine, Yn." You moan at his words, frowning your eyebrows from the burning pain you feel on the back of your thighs. His skin slaps hard against yours, leaving your own sore and irritated.
You're his, only his until your death, until your soul leaves the earth and abandons his forever. He might as well die with you when you think about it because without the other, you simply can't live. The half of your soul, the missing piece of your happiness.
"I'm yours, Jin. I'm yours." You repeat, closing your eyes to fully enjoy the pleasure he's giving you.
He repeatedly hits your sensitive spot, making you moan and cry under his body. He holds your thighs tightly against his chest, his nails sinking into your flesh. "Ah, fuck..." He curses as you clench around him again, feeling your high approaching.
He eyes your neck, seeing your jugular pulsing, inviting him to pierce it. He grits his teeth, his fangs still visible, meaning he's not satiated. You tilt your head to the side, showing him your flesh to encourage him to bite you. He leans down on you and his thirst prevails, again.
"Mph!" You scrunch your eyes shut at the intrusion of his teeth into you for a second time, the area of your neck much more sensitive than your thigh.
He drinks your blood greedily and he pounds into you faster and harder, his own orgasm threatening to arrive soon. You'll cum soon too, his cock slipping in and out of your pussy and brushing against your walls make the knot at the pit of your stomach tightens.
His Adam's apple bobs every time he takes a gulp, every time he takes blood out of your veins. "Ah, Jin! I'm cumming!" You yell, warning him. Your hole quivers and Seokjin's thrusts rip an intense orgasm out of you, your whole body shakes like a leaf.
He backs away from your neck abruptly, blood flowing in abundance since he pierced the biggest vein, the wound freshly open. "Fuck, fuck!" He places his arms on each side of your head, his pelvis hitting your sensitive clit as he sinks his cock in and out, chasing his orgasm. "A-ah, shit!" He bucks his hips against you, staying still. He shoots his cum in you, painting your walls white, his dick twitching angrily as he milks himself dry into the warmth of your pussy.
He licks your neck up while he lazily fucks his cock in you, healing your wound. You shudder under his body, your chest and forehead covered in sweat.
After your session of heated sex, you both returned to your shared bedroom. Seokjin has all of his energy back as well as his powers.
"Jin?" You call his name softly, bringing his attention on you. You're laying beside him on your belly while he is staring at the ceiling, a hand on his stomach.
"Mh?" He hums, telling you to continue.
"You could transform me." His eyes snap open, turning his head in your direction worryingly. He sits up on the bed and you follow his actions, doing the same. As he seems completely afraid, you smile. "I want you to show me your world. I want to be a part of it." You confess, shifting your body closer to him.
"You are already a part of it. You are my world, sweetheart." He tells you, his voice sounding through the silence of the night.
"Jin, I love you." You take his hand in yours, your warmth enveloping him. "More than you could ever imagine and I know you feel the exact same. But tell me, tell me you don't want to leave me." He frowns, confused, because the idea of leaving you is strange to him, totally delusional.
"I would never."
"Then prove it to me." He's about to answer you, but you cut him off before he can. "Bite me. Give me the ability to love you for eternity." You say in one breath, having memorized this whole sentence into your mind. Having imagined this scene in your head numerous times before. "Take me with you. Don't ever see me die, don't ever suffer for the loss I would be."
You feel your eyes watering, looking at Seokjin hopefully, wishing for a positive response. "Is that what you want? Are you sure?" He asks you. You chuckle, finding his question silly, but still adorable.
"Yes, I am."

Babysitting Michael wasn’t something Tommy was new to. In fact, oftentimes, the boy - who wasn’t really a boy anymore, and seemed to be growing into a man built for a royal life - would offer up his evenings to spend time with the boy, even when his parents didn’t have a need for it.
Tonight was one of the nights that they did need it, though, and Tommy found himself here, sitting on the edge of the young boy’s bed, tucking him in with only the light of the candle on his bedside to see with.
Just as the covers were pulled up over his arms, Michael smiled at his uncle, and with as innocent of a voice as he could muster, asked, “Uncle Tom, can you tell me a story?”
“I-” Tommy stammered. He hadn’t been told many stories to fall asleep with when he was growing up, and the question stumped him. After a long pause, he nodded. “Of course. This story is one that uncle Wilbur told me about, a long time ago.”
Tumblr media
The sun was beating down on the earth, the town too warm for anyone to be properly happy aside from children playing in the roads. Everyone seemed miserable about the heat. All except for a single girl, a smile as wide as her face could allow as she nearly floated her way down the cobbled streets lined with market stalls.
Her wicker basket was weighed down with several items, but a light blue blanket shielded them from view. No one in the bustling town paid her any mind, and she liked it that way. Because when no one noticed her, she could make her way through the streets undetected, and through the gates that protected her people, and into the forest where her lover awaited her.
Her wicker basket was weighed down with several items, but a light blue blanket shielded them from view. No one in the bustling town paid her any mind, and she liked it that way. Because when no one noticed her, she could make her way through the streets undetected, hiding in plain sight, and through the gates that protected her people, and into the forest where her lover awaited her. Most people would scold her for meeting with a boy in private, she was sure, but she couldn’t see the man she loved most in public. Wilbur and her were only 16 or so, and he was far above her in terms of status.
He was the boy who would become king one day, the boy who grew up running through the halls of the castle at the centre of the city, situated atop a sloping hill and surrounded by gates. It, and the people who lived inside, were the reason that her city had walls, to protect the royals. Not the people.
Y/n’s wander through the woods was a pleasant one, filled with buzzing and bird song and a delicate breeze. The field was just up ahead, this she could tell, because the soft gurgle of a freshwater spring had entered her hearing, and it was the last landmark she had to cross before she would be with her lover once again.
Wilbur was standing among the wildflowers, hands wringing together with worry as he waited patiently for Y/n to arrive. He heard the rustle of leaves behind him and turned, his breath relaxing and a soft smile stretching his face as he watched her approach. Instantly, he began to meet her halfway, opening his arms and enveloping her in a hug.
“What took you so long?” He asked, breathing in her hair as her arms wrapped around his middle.
She sighed, “Mother took forever leaving the house today. Her shift was moved to the afternoon instead of the morning.”
Wilbur only nodded, and the two broke apart, falling into a simple routine like they always did. A blanket was set up and the two sat quietly on it, snacking on the fruits and cheeses and bread that Y/n had brought.
After a while, Wilbur began to chat, complaining about his younger brothers and his father, or praising the maid-staff for how patient they were with Tommy. He was only a toddler, bless him, but he was quite the troublemaker for his nannies.
Y/n had talked mostly about her family as well, or about the boy down the road that she would look after from time to time. He was just about the same age as Tommy, but patient and kind, and loved Y/n with all his heart. “What an odd name, though,” Y/n smiled as she ate a grape. “Ranboo. It doesn’t matter, though. He’s a sweetheart.”
After the snacks were gone and the talking was done, Wilbur and Y/n danced wildly through the field, laughing and spinning and stepping on one another’s feet. At some point, Wilbur stepped on Y/n’s dress and sent them both tumbling down. The prince had landed on top of Y/n, who was giggling profusely.
Wilbur smiled, his arms holding his body up as he hovered over Y/n’s body. Her eyes were closed and there were bits of grass and flower petals in her hair, and her giggles floated through the air endlessly - Wilbur could listen to her laugh forever.
Soon enough, he moved his body to the side and extended a hand to his love, pulling her up onto her feet and into his chest. Reaching up, he pulled a dandelion from her hair, twirling it between his fingers. She looked at it with a laugh, the quiet, breathy kind of laugh. Wilbur looked back at her with a playful smile, tucking it behind her ear and brushing some hair out of her face.
“You look so beautiful, my love.” He whispered, his hand lingering in her hair. His eyes drifted, slowly, down to her lips, her smile. “You always do.”
He tilted his head, sealing their lips with a sweet, loving kiss. Wilbur’s hand tangled in Y/n’s hair, the other sliding down to her waist, pulling her closer as she wound her arms around his neck.
The world fell away from the pair, finding another in each other’s arms. Gone was the field of wildflowers, the birdsong and the gurgling stream, and the reality that awaited them beyond the forest of oaken trees. It was just them, alone, in love, with no worries. Because the reality was, like it always is, dreadful and unfair.
But right now, reality wasn’t an issue. Wilbur’s status as heir didn’t matter, and neither did Y/n’s position in society as a lowly peasant girl with nontraditional parents. None of it mattered; all that did matter was that Wilbur and Y/n were young, in love, and happy. At least, that’s what mattered to them. It didn’t matter to anyone else.
The two continued to goof around and have fun with one another, until the sun began to set and Wilbur was forced to return using the tunnel he’d found as a child, which led into the castle gardens.
Y/n watched him go, like always, with a heavy heart and a basket to pack. His kisses goodbye were always difficult to bear, the searing emotions left behind on her lips made her stomach flutter for hours. But still, she packed up the blue blanket and headed back the way she came, through the town gates and up the cobblestone streets, which were now empty and devoid of marketplace vendors.
Tumblr media
“What happens next, uncle Tom?” Michael asked, eager to hear more.
Tommy sighed, scrubbing a hand over his face as he adjusted his seat on the bed. “Uh, hang on. I can’t quite remember… oh, yeah.”
Tumblr media
When Wilbur reappeared in the castle gardens, he hadn’t expected to find his father waiting on the stone bench near the tree that concealed his escape route.
“Father,” he said, startled. “What are you doing here? I thought you had a council meeting this evening.”
“I did,” King Phil said, standing from the bench to approach his son. “It was cancelled, one of the council members fell ill. But when Maria told me she saw you come out here and not come back, I grew concerned.” His tone was sharp, and Wilbur felt bile rising up his throat. “So, I waited. And here you are. Secret tunnel, eh? I used to use it a lot when I was young.”
Wilbur was growing antsy. “Father, what’s this about? If you’d like to punish me, then get it over with, please.”
“Punish you?” Phil asked, raising a brow at his son. “No, no, I don’t want to punish you.” He approached carefully, raising a hand to rest it on his son’s shoulder. “I just want to know why you’ve been going out for such long amounts of time.”
Wilbur froze. He glanced at the hand on his shoulder and swallowed hard. “Just a few friends, is all.”
His voice was shaky and his eyes wide and panicked, but Phil simply nodded.
“Friends… Like Schlatt?”
“Yes.” Wilbur nodded, instantly. “Schlatt, and Techno. Sometimes Charlie, too.”
After a long, particularly tense moment, Phil smiled. “Alright. I just wanted to know. And from now on, there’s no need for the tunnel. Just tell someone where you’re going.”
Wilbur breathed a sigh of relief as Phil removed his hand from his shoulder, nodding at his father to abide by his word. He’d avoided his father finding out about Y/n, which is the one thing he couldn’t bear losing.
Tumblr media
Exactly one week later, Wilbur lied to one of the maids and claimed that he was leaving to spend the day with Charlie, and made his way to the forest, where he knew Y/n was going to meet him. Ever since they met, they’d always spend Thursday afternoons together in the forest. He was usually the first there, but he never minded. Nature was captivating to him, even after how long he’d spent in that same wildflower field.
Y/n hadn’t taken as long to arrive as she had the past week, but she seemed to be more sombre than Wilbur was used to. A frown was frozen on her lips, a furrowed brow and taut lines marking her face as she approached her love. She had tried to hide the look on her face from him, but Wilbur could see it, for she couldn’t hide the gleam in her eye.
“What’s wrong?” He asked, hands resting on her upper arms as soon as she was within his reach.
Y/n searched his eyes, desperate to find an answer. To find some way to say what she needed to.
“My mother. She suspects something.” She choked out, and Wilbur watched the lines on her face return. “She knows, Wilbur. I barely managed to leave today.”
Wilbur’s muscles ached. He couldn’t explain it, but the despair that shook him from the idea of not seeing Y/n for a long while seeped into his bones, taking a physical form within him.
“It’ll be alright, darling.” He assured. “My father suspected something, too. But we’ll be alright. Just a few more years, and I’ll be king, and we can be together, no matter what. Like we talked about, yeah?”
Y/n smiled, but her eyes still showed the fear, the exhaustion of hiding everything. Wilbur rubbed her arms and the routine took place once more, the two enjoying their limited time together as best as they could.
This time, Wilbur had brought a book, and asked Y/n to read it to him while he watched the sky from where his head lay on her lap. Her voice recounted The Canterbury Tales wonderfully, one hand holding the book in front of her face, the other playing with his hair, occasionally stopping to turn the page.
Hours passed, and the stories continued, until the snacks hand ran out and the sky began to darken. Today was quiet, a glimpse into a life that both Y/n and Wilbur so desperately wanted, but neither could have with the other. Quiet moments, peace and happiness in a forest. Maybe they could live in the flower field. Build a home, run a farm, have children of their own. It was a wonderful idea. But that’s all it would be.
When the time came for Wilbur and Y/n to part, she handed the book back to the prince, who simply denied it. “Take it back home with you, darling. Finish reading it, bring it back to me next week. I’ve read it one too many times.”
Reluctantly, she agreed, and off the two went, taking their separate ways to their homes.
Tumblr media
The week passed like it normally did for Wilbur, until Thursday came and he left the castle once more, this time under the guise that Techno wanted to share more mythology books with him for the afternoon.
He reached the meadow earlier than normal, but it gave him time to further appreciate its beauty while he waited for Y/n’s arrivals. But today, things felt… different. Hours passed, too many for Wilbur’s liking, and she hadn’t shown. He waited, and waited, and finally, when the time came and the sun began to set, he was forced to leave, with no answers as to where Y/n was, and why she didn’t come like she normally did.
Tumblr media
“What happened to her, uncle Tom?” Michael asked, gripping the edge of his blanket with a childlike urgency.
“I’m getting there, I’m getting there! Just quiet down.”
Tumblr media
After Wilbur waited all evening for a second time, he decided it would be best to take matters into his own hands.
Despite what his father always warned him of, he wandered the empty streets alone, looking frantically at all of the windows that were lit up with candlelight, hoping Y/n would be in one of them, smiling and laughing hopefully.
He didn’t find her, but he found what he would call the next best thing. A woman, aging but not too old, is sitting at a table with a group of people in their dining room, right in front of the window.
Hurrying over to the door, he knocked frantically, hoping he didn’t look too dishevelled. He was a prince, after all.
Within seconds, the wood door creaked open, and the woman he saw stood with flour on her dress, shocked at his presence.
“My prince,” she curtseyed deeply. “What can I do for you? A cup of tea?”
Wilbur shook his head, breathing increasing. She looked just like you. “No. No, that’s okay. I’m looking for someone. Y/n. Is this her home by chance?”
The woman nodded, eyes saddened as she watched Wilbur’s face brighten. “It is, sir. She’s my daughter. But she hasn’t been here in a few days.”
“What? Why not?”
“She left.” The woman said. She said it so simply and with such finality that it felt like Wilbur’s world came crashing down.
Trying to control his breaths, Wilbur carded a hand through his hair. “Do you know where she went?”
“No, sir. She left two weeks ago. Hasn’t been back. Said she needed to go explore, see the world.” Wilbur’s shoulders dropped at the woman’s words. He nodded with a tight lipped smile, and as he turned to leave, the woman called out to him once more. “Sir, I don’t mean to pry, but she left something behind. Took everything but this. Told me in her letter to give it back to her friend.”
“What was it?”
“Wait here,” she said, heading back into the house and returning with a book. Wilbur recognised it instantly. “She said she left a message in it for whoever came by. Thought you might be it.”
Wilbur took the parchment from the woman and bid her a goodnight, hearing an excited giggle from a little boy inside. His first thought was of the boy Y/n looked after. Ranboo.
He didn’t get the chance to look inside the book until he retired to his bedchambers for the night. Sitting on his bed, leaning close to the candlelight on his bedside, Wilbur opened the book. In blotted, cursive handwriting, right underneath the title, were your final words to him.
I’m sorry I didn’t get to say goodbye. I didn’t have time. I love you. Shine bright, my golden boy. I will never forget you.
Tumblr media
“What happened next, uncle Tom?” Michael asked, wriggling in his bed.
Tommy sighed. “Nothing, Michael. She never came back. No one heard from her after then, and the prince just… moved on. It was hard, but he did.”
“But she can’t have just left!”
“I’m sorry, Michael, but she did.” Tommy told the boy, reaching over and tucking him back in. “That’s the way Wilbur’s always told the story. She leaves, and it ends. He never told me anything else. I’m sorry.”
“It’s okay, uncle Tom.”
“Goodnight, Michael.”
“Goodnight.”
And with that, Tommy blew out the candle and left the room, the gears in his head turning as he thought more and more about the story he just told his nephew.

Hi, sexy bath time with Steve where you’re a sitting against your chest and he’s fingering you and rubbing your boobs? Maybe on a perfect fall rainy day? And he begged you to do nothing with him all day? Thanks🥰
Can you imagine how sweet and romantic that would be? Not even mentioning the sexy parts, but he’d just want to cuddle you, let you light your favorite fall candle to scent the entire house. Maybe even beg you to read to him, so you start at the beginning of a spooky book or a thrilling read you’re in the middle of and just spend time together under a cozy blanket. Okay I need to write this NOW.
Also he looks so soft in this gif. Imagine this is how soft he looks at you when he begs you to just spent a day in with him 🥺

Days Spent With You
Steve Harrington x Reader
Warnings: Smut (towards the end of the fic)
MASTERLIST
Sounds of rain pattering against the window woke you early on a Saturday morning. That and the chill in the air.
You shivered, reaching out to pull the covers more tightly over you, but felt them cover your shoulders before you could grab a hold of them. Turning your head, you saw Steve laying on his side, head propped in his hand, watching you with a smile.
“Morning, beautiful,” he whispered, tucking the covers closer around you.
“Have you been watching me sleep this entire time?” you mumbled, sleepily.
“No, I just woke up. But you looked too peaceful to disturb.”
You stretched a bit, still feeling the weight of sleepiness heavy in your bones. The room was basked in early morning sunlight, but not bright enough to indicate the sun had completely risen yet.
“What time is it?” you groaned.
“Just after six,” he answered.
You groaned, attempting to pull the covers over your head. He chuckled, pulling you into his arms.
“Go back to sleep, Y/N. It’s a perfect day to do nothing.”
“I have so much I have to do today though,” you grumbled, eyes closing, “I gotta go grocery shopping, do some cleaning-”
Your voice dropped off as you fell back into the blissful grasp of sleep. Steve pulled you close against him, making sure the covers were pulled up over both of you before falling asleep again himself.
It was after 10 in the morning when you woke again. You were sure you’d fallen asleep in Steve’s arms, but now, you were curled up and facing his side of the bed, knees pulled up an arm stretched out to his side as if searching for him even in sleep. Your head was nestled against your pillow comfortably, your hair splayed against it as you slept.
Even before you opened your eyes, your hand ran over the cool sheets of Steve’s side, realizing he wasn’t there, the coolness indicating he hadn’t been for some time. Only after you opened your eyes did your other senses seem to catch up to you.
You could smell coffee brewing and something else sweet in the air, drifting from the kitchen. You couldn’t be sure, but you thought it was possibly pumpkin. You sat up, rubbing the sleep out of your eyes, spending a few moments waking up before you’d get out of bed.
Turns out, you didn’t even need to for Steve appeared at the door, carrying a plate in one hand, a mug in another.
“What’s this?” you smiled, surprised.
“I thought I’d let you sleep, so I made breakfast. Some coffee and your favorite pumpkin pancakes.”
Your brows rose; usually you made the pancakes for him. Although it was a simple recipe to follow, one you kept hanging on the fridge with a picture magnet of you and Steve, you were surprised nonetheless.
“Thank you,” you said, taking the mug and taking a much needed sip.
Steve sat the plate in your lap, saying he’d be back shortly after getting his own.
“Breakfast in bed,” you mused, when he once again joined you, sliding back into his side of the bed, “Are you sure you’re feeling alright?”
“Hey,” he chuckled, “I thought it would be something nice for a change.”
Your hands cupped the mug, the warmth from it and the few sips you’d taken slowly starting to erase the chill from your body. You laid your head on his shoulder, turning to kiss his jawline sweetly.
“It is. Thank you.”
He smiled, turning to look down at you.
“Eat up. We’ve got a big day of nothing ahead of us.”
You sighed, picking up your fork and cutting into the pancake.
“Steve, I told you. I’ve got so much to do today,” you frowned.
“Nothing that can’t wait until next week, right?” he shrugged, “Just stay home with me and do nothing all day. Please? It’s gross and rainy outside.”
His lower lip protruded in a pout, his brown eyes giving you the look of a puppy dog begging for love. He knew how well that worked on you and you found yourself caving.
“You can light one of your fall candles, we can cuddle, you can read to me that one book you’re reading. Pretty please?”
There was no way you could say no to that. It was extremely tempting anyways, so you agreed.
“Alright,” you nodded, “As long as you don’t whine when we’re reading.”
“You don’t do any voices!” he protested.
“I’m reading to you, not a classroom full of kindergartners,” you gave him a look, “Besides, I’m starting at the beginning for you, even though I’m halfway through it. I wouldn’t do that for just anyone.”
“I know,” he smiled, pecking your cheek, “I love you.”
“I love you too,” you smiled, taking another bite of your breakfast before speaking again.
“I love these pancakes, too.”
True to his word, Steve let you light one of your favorite fall candles and soon the house was filled was the scent of pumpkin, cinnamon and spices that delighted you. It was definitely a cozy and aromatic environment, so when he pulled a blanket over the two of you while you watched a movie, you didn’t mind one bit.
He’d brought home E.T. from work, renting it once again for you two to enjoy over the weekend. It was a comfort movie for you—one that you both had watched many times—but you couldn’t help it, you both found the little guy so cute.
It was just reaching early afternoon, not long after lunchtime when the movie was finished as you wiped your eyes from crying at the end. Steve chuckled, rubbing your arm.
“As many times as we’ve seen this movie, you always cry at the end,” he remarked.
“I know, but it kills me seeing E.T. and Elliot saying goodbye,” you sniffed.
He chuckled earnestly, squeezing your shoulder before getting up to rewind the video and put it away in its case.
“Well I know what’ll cheer you up,” Steve said, back turned to you as he put the tape away, “Time for us to read.”
“Only if you stop interrupting with questions every few seconds,” you countered from where you remained sitting on the couch, covered in blankets.
“I promise,” he said, giving you his most serious look.
“Okay, then can you bring me the book? It’s in the bedroom on the nightstand,” you said, giving him the puppy dog eyes for a change.
“Now how can I say no to that?” he grinned, dropping a kiss on your head as he passed the couch as he walked by, heading to get the book.
When he returned with the book, he plopped down next to you, stealing your blankets.
“Hey!” you protested, swatting his arm with the paperback.
He laughed, situating the fleece blankets over the two of you properly again.
“I was only fixing them. Cranky little thing,” he smirked.
You stuck your tongue out at him, playfully as you crossed your legs on the couch, back against the cushions as you cracked open the book to its first page.
“The sound of gunfire was the only thing Flynn heard in the courtroom. He ducked under the defense table, hand going for the pistol he kept in the ankle holster hidden underneath the straight leg of his fashionable suit pants. Things must’ve gone horribly wrong for the events to take this drastic of a turn. He was the only one in the empty courtroom, but he knew his hunter was good at his job. He’d be found eventually. He needed to stay on the move.”
“Wow, talk about an intense start,” Steve muttered.
You exhaled, exasperated.
“What did I say about interruptions?” you asked, trying to sound annoyed, but in actuality you were more amused than anything.
“What? Sometimes a comment in necessary and that needed to be commented on,” he retorted.
“I’m barely a paragraph in!” you exclaimed, chuckling.
“Okay, okay. I’m sorry baby, continue.”
He wrapped an arm around your waist, pulling you close as he settled back to continue listening to you narrate the story.
Shockingly, you made it about a hundred pages into the book before you both fell asleep, cuddled into one another.
“Baby, wake up,” you heard.
You felt a featherlight brush against your cheek and you reached a hand up, to brush whatever it was away. You heard Steve’s deep chuckle as he grabbed your hand, kissing your fingers.
“Hmm?” you opened your eyes, seeing Steve standing over you, positioned behind the couch.
You rubbed your arms, immediately noticing the chill in the air as you searched for the blankets. You noticed they had fallen off your body and on to the floor.
“I noticed it’d gotten colder when I woke up, so I drew us a nice, hot bath.”
You were instantly awake at his words. Your brows rose.
“Us?”
“Mhm,” he smirked, “I mean unless you’d want to leave me in a blissfully warm, bubble bath, all alone, naked.”
His tone was playful, teasing, a hint of seduction in it.
“Sounds wonderful,” you grinned.
By the time you joined him in the bathroom, you were aching to slip in the steaming water. It sounded like the perfect thing to do on such a cool evening.
Steve was just the icing on the cake.
Undressing one another took some time, though probably worth it. You could tell at first glance the soapy, bubbly water was piping hot, curls of steam rising from the surface on the water. You figured it didn’t hurt to take a little time while it cooled to a reasonable temperature.
Steve kissed you gently, his hands gliding across your hips, fingers tangling in the material of your pajama top. Neither of you had bothered changing out of your pajamas today and while that was a rarity, it had been an extra special treat today.
You kissed him back, your tongue and his lazily moving with each other as your hands slid up from his clothed chest to around his neck. His hands pushed up the fabric of your shirt, warm palms feeling like heaven on your chilled skin. His fingers stroked your stomach as his lips departed from yours and worked their way down your jaw and to your neck. He sucked on a spot lightly, eliciting a soft moan from you.
You lifted your arms when he pulled away to pull your top over your head and off your body. You shivered, the cold air hitting your skin giving you goosebumps and making your nipples harden.
The way he took in your exposed top half made your skin flush, a bit in embarrassment for being scrutinized so closely and a bit from desire. He always seemed to stare at your body like he was seeing it for the first time all over again.
“You never fail to take my breath away,” he murmured, hands settling on your rib cage, just below your breasts, “You’re so goddamn beautiful, Y/N.”
His sweet, endearing words could turn you on just as much as any filthy ones he could utter—though he did plenty of both. You found yourself aching to be touched and nearly groaned when his hands fell away from your body, to pull his shirt over his head.
He helped you out of your pajamas pants, stealing a few kisses, but nothing as salacious as those previous kisses and touches had been. You shimmied out of your underwear, turning to get into the bathtub.
You winced slightly at the heat of the water, but quickly acclimated to it as you sunk down with a moan. The heat encompassed your body, chasing away any chill and it felt delightful. You turned your head to see Steve just stepping out of his boxers.
“You coming in? Or are you just going to stand there looking all glorious?” you smirked.
“I could do that if you preferred,” Steve grinned, striking a model pose, made even funnier since he was buck naked.
You laughed at him, waving for him to hurry up and get in.
The water shifted and lapped as he climbed in, settling in behind you. His arms came around your waist, pulling you against his chest as he laid back against the edge of the tub.
“Mm, this was definitely a good idea,” you marveled, enjoying the warmth of the bath and from Steve behind you.
“You do so much, you deserve a little spoiling,” he smiled, sitting upright once again, leaning forward to kiss your cheek.
“Says the one who actually has a job and works six out of seven days, usually,” you pointed out.
“Babe, I shelve rental videos, rewind VHS tapes and deal with cranky people or annoying teenagers all day. You take care of me, the house, plus clean other houses on the side,” he stated, one hand inching up your stomach, “Can you blame me for wanting to take care of you for a change?”
One large hand cupped your breast, squeezing it gently. You inhaled sharply, your body instantly responding to his touch. He elicited a whimper from you when the pad of this thumb rubbed over the nipple.
“Someone sounds needy,” he teased.
“Shut up,” you mumbled.
He chuckled lowly, fingers pinching and tweaking the peaked bud enough to taunt you.
“Good thing I’m ready to give you whatever you want,” he mumbled lowly, lips brushing your ear.
His other hand made the water ripple as he moved it to the top of your thigh, fingers curling and uncurling as he stroked it lightly. With each brush, his touch moved closer to your throbbing core where you were aching for him.
“I bet you’re throbbing, aren’t you?” he murmured, tongue gliding along the outer shell of your ear.
“Mhm,” you moaned as he pinched your nipple a bit harder, sending an electric spark of desire straight to your clit.
“And so wet,” he hummed, “All for me.”
“All for you,” you whispered
You gasped when you finally felt the brush of his fingertips along the seam of your pussy. He kissed down your neck, lips not staying in one place for long as he pushed a single finger into you.
“Fuck,” you breathed, back arching against his chest.
You felt his smile against your neck, his free hand giving your boob an appreciative squeeze.
“You like that, darling?” he purred, the single digit pumping in and out of you languidly.
“Very much so,” you whined, hips lifting to try and get more friction.
He pressed you closer to his chest, so close that you felt the brush of his chest hair against your bare back any time he shifted. That wasn’t all you felt as you could feel his hardening cock pressing into your lower back.
His lips attached to your jaw, as his fingers worked you. Knuckles rubbed your inner walls and made your eyes roll. His hand on your chest didn’t let up either as he massaged and rubbed your boobs, fingers making sure to give your nipples plenty of attention while the other hand tortured you even further. You practically burst into flames the moment his thumb brushed your clit.
He gave it a soft flick, fingers still thrusting in and out of you. When his touch rubbed over it, you lost all sense of dignity, letting all inhibitions go.
“Steve,” you moaned loudly, head falling back against his shoulder.
Your fingers dug into his thighs, especially when they curled perfectly, hitting the sensitive, spongy spot deep inside you that made your toes curl. Inadvertently, your inner muscles clamped down on his fingers, the overstimulation of him touching you nearly everywhere almost overwhelming.
Your mind was hazy as he continued to please you. His mouth sucked harshly on a spot at your collarbone, his hand on your breast kneading it in his palm—the roughness of his palm scratching your hard nipple deliciously—and his fingers kept plunging within you, faster now, the pad of his thumb rubbing circles on your clit. It was the perfect storm.
“I can feel you squeezing the fuck out of my fingers,” he groaned against your neck, “I almost wish it was my cock you were gripping like a vise. Drives me fucking insane.”
You groaned at his words, the knotted bundle at the pit of your stomach growing ten fold. You were about ready to let him take you right in the bathtub.
“I know you’re close sweetheart, I can feel it,” he uttered, a slight growl to his voice, “Cum for me like the good girl I know you are.”
“Oh my god Steve,” you mewled, “I’m gonna- fuck!”
Your orgasm hit you hard, your body racking with waves of pleasure, one hand gripping his wrist to keep his hand in place.
“That’s it baby girl,” he murmured, “Such a good girl for me.”
When you finally slumped back against him, completely spent, he chuckled, nose pressing against your cheek before placing a gentle kiss there. Your chest was still rising and falling with your uneven breaths as you turned to look at him.
“Did you get me naked just to do that?” you peered at him suspiciously.
“Maybe. A man never tells his secrets,” he smirked, pulling your face up to his for a kiss.
“It’s days spent with you that are my favorite,” he whispered against your lips.
You smiled against his mouth, kissing him once again.
After a specific amount of time kissing, you’d noticed the water had cooled significantly in the time since you’d both gotten into the tub. You glanced down at his hard, throbbing cock with a raised brow.
“I’d like to take care of that for you, but I don’t think I can hold my breath for that long under water,” you snarked.
“Bedroom?” he asked, a sly grin on his face.
“Most definitely.”
He moved almost comically fast as he pulled the plug out of the drain, picking you up in his arms. You squealed as he tried to hold on to your slippery body and held onto him tightly.
“Steve, be careful. Don’t hurt yourself,” you laughed, “I’m all wet.”
“I know and I’m gonna make you wet all over again,” he smirked, dropping you on the bed.
Not caring that both of you were still slick from the bath, he crawled over you to begin the process of spoiling you, all over again.

❃ APRILLUC 2023. DAY 02 — scars/injuries
event masterlist cw: genshin canonical universe. mentions of blood (not detailed).
Tumblr media
going back to your teapot after a long day of hard labor was exactly what you needed. you managed to get rid of paimon this time, silence surrounding you as you headed straight towards one of the multiple room was good to your ears.
you threw yourself on the bed, staying unmoving for a moment. the night was starting to fall and the sun was already nowhere to be seen. a few candles were lighting up the room.
you went to change yourself, taking off your clothes to get yourself ready to sleep when someone knocked on the door.
‘paimon i asked you some privacy for today- oh. good evening klee.’ you said when you spotted the little girl in front of you.
‘the weird grown up is not doing fine. jean said we should tell you.’
you got immediately worried about him. diluc was usually not one to put himself in danger but to have klee come to you for help didn’t mean anything good happened while you were absent.
‘alright. i’ll go check that out now. thank you klee! you should really go to bed now okay ?’
the girl nodded yes and went back to her own room inside the house while you put your shoes back to go outside towards the location where diluc was and see for yourself in what state he was.
you teleported for it to be quicker, because you were extremely worried, more than you thought, and perhaps you were exaggerating but you couldn’t help it. you cared about diluc a lot.
once you arrived, you found him. he was sitting on a stone, alone, warming up his body around a fire camp. you joined him, calling out his name multiple times and he turned his face to look at you.
his gaze softened the minute he saw that it was you.
‘hi’ he simply said. his voice was weak and it pained you to see him feeling so down. he wasn’t the most enthusiastic of your companions but he wasn’t usually that depressed.
you hugged him. you craved his touch and you felt like it could perhaps ease his pain, or at least do him some good, and judging by the way his eyes grew tender and his smile larger, it was a success.
‘what happened ?’ you asked taking a step away to check out his face. he was bleeding a little bit but nothing too dangerous and seeing that his life wasn’t threatened reassured you a bit.
he looked back at the fire in front of him, in front of both of you.
you say next to him, holding his hand in yours.
‘i was fighting in dragonspine. an old scar reopened.’ he affirmed and you looked at him a bit confused as to which scar he was talking about. since diluc had been in multiple fights before, he didn’t have only one scar, but probably hundreds all over his body. not that you’ve seen them all yet.
‘who were you fighting ?’ you asked. you knew the answer but couldn’t help but ask.
‘fatui.’ he only said.
you knew it was them again. diluc couldn’t help but trying to make them go away. they usually were no match for him indeed, but there were several of them today and it ended up with him getting hurt.
‘show me.’
diluc took off his jacket and his shirt, ending up half naked. you couldn’t help but stare at his muscular body. but quickly focused back on the scar he had on his back. two big scars to be exact.
‘that scar’ you said. ‘diluc, you’re beautiful’ you added. and you coughed, realizing the words that just slipped out of your mouth.
diluc couldn’t see you but your cheeks were getting a bit red and it wasn’t because of the flames near you.
‘i almost died that day.’ it was the first time diluc actually said something so personal to you. you knew about his past, and all the problems he has had with the fatui, but when he told you some harbingers had been after him, inflicting him such wound, you realized there was still a lot of things you didn’t know about that man.
you took some bandages out of your backpack and started to take care of his bleeding scar. diluc grumbled from time to time but he was not complaining. he secretly liked to have you take care of him.
you were soft and he liked you a lot. enough to let you see that part of him he usually hid under several layers of clothing.
but he didn’t need to hide it from you. he didn’t want to either.
when finally stopping the bleeding, you noticed how big his injury was. your bandages might not cover it all actually but it should do for now.
‘thank you.’ he said ‘for coming to my help right away.’ he added before you could ask anything. he turned back to look at you, drowning his eyes into yours.
he caressed your cheeks and your hair, putting some strands back behind your ears.
‘thank you for taking care of me.’
you only just healed his wound and bandaged his scar you thought but kept it to yourself.
this look on his eyes was saying many more things than the sentence he just spoke. your eyes went from his lips to his red eyes burning with the flame of passion, something you only rarely got to see.
you felt the urge to kiss him, but your body moved on its own and instead you took him into your arms. you needed a kiss but diluc needed a loving embrace and this was exactly what you gave him.
at this moment, even though you couldn’t see it, a genuine expression of happiness combined with a smile painted on diluc’s face, making him the most handsome man to ever exist.
