soooo i’m a writer, yet I’ve never published any of my stories before. i write them all privately in google documents. I’m in the middle of rewriting an Alastor fic, and was like “maybe some alastor fans would love this piece!”. i’ve always wanted to publish my writings but i also get scared to. you have any advice??

All I can say is just do it.

Publishing your writings is a very scary feeling because you never know how people will respond. BUT have confidence and post it😁 there is something for everyone in someone’s writing that everyone can enjoy.

But don’t think of the engagement (tho that feels nice right) post your writings because it’s what YOU enjoy and wish to share with others.

I think the community is pretty nice at least from my experience and adding tags will help people find your works🥰

Hi, nonnie! First, sending hugs and good vibes as one fellow writer to another. You deserve them.

Regarding your mixed feelings, is it the interaction you're worried about? I know it has been hit and miss with some writers. Or is it a different reason?

Something I'm trying to remind myself of since I'm tired most days is the fun of writing and creating. It's a wonderful thing to use our imaginations and shouldn't feel like a chore. I don't have to "produce" a certain amount. It should be an escape and what is shared is more than enough.

Give yourself grace. Be proud of every single word you write. No one can tell your story the way you can. It deserves to be shared at your own pace. You have a place here.

Humans are made of collapsing stars, that under the pressure have a cataclysmic reaction and explode but you are both the light that brightens the universe and the stardust that graces us. You are laughter, sunbeams, lazy dusks and the joy of girlhood - it may not be easy but they're indubitably the most rewarding.

i do unironically think the best artists of our generation are posting to get 20 notes and 3 reblogs btw. that fanfic with like 45 kudos is some of the best stuff ever written. those OCs you carry around have some of the richest backstories and worldbuilding someone has ever seen. please do not think that reaching only a few people when you post means your art isn't worth celebrating.
