Sometimes when i haven't been able to paint or photo shoot, or even exercise enough to forget I haven't been creative, a beguilingly simple poem to one of my own art works does the trick 🙏☺️

Picasso's Minotaur

There is Picasso’s Minotaur in my body He is strangled in chains made of fear I can hear him growl and thunder I can feel him shivering with cravings Of power and lust. He has long horns that are now bent With all the thudding and banging Against high guarded walls That I made from the pieces Of my shaken and shattered confidence. His eyes are raging red They are wet with blood From when he almost poked them With the thorns of my bitterness When I grew envious of everyone. His hands bleed with all the tugging And pulling and struggling Against the chains, I tied him in When I had no courage To be who I was. I have Picasso’s Minotaur Tied and twisted inside of me. Filled with rage and an unceasing desire Of everything, I won’t let him have Of everything, I don’t have in me. His scraped fingers and broken nails Ferocious expressions Outrageously burning body And flaring nostrils tell me He is about to escape. And when he does My eyes would dance with power My hands would sway in the air My feet would dance I will finally be free. Read the full article

Ghosts of grey Wander through the graveyards of day How do the dead raise? The red moon watches over A far cry wakes the child and the king What good is a reprise? Trapped between my ears Cacophony princesses dance cabaret A constant blur, Speeds past the pavements of a featureless brae Drenched in tar, I walk a tightrope Alas, I am falling Deep into a cloud of mote As sweet apathy calls my name, I lean forward to catch a whim Only to watch it slip away In an endless battle of flight and gravity . . . Internet has been a tad more overwhelming the past couple of months. There is madness everywhere and just about everything. Last week on my way back home from work, it hit me how media is constantly overloading us with something or the other, leaving so little time to be left alone in our heads, to even think before we fall for their tomfoolery and spells of fear. “Be my art” You whisper to me behind your canvas

“Be my muse, be my goddess. Be my madness”

You are an artist, and I am ancient arts

Colour me right and unlock my parts

Your mouth is your palette

Your tongue is your paintbrush

You’re an aurora borealis

so beautiful, so cosmic, so hushed

You brush your tongue against my skin

How can something this good be a sin?

You are an artist and I am your art

You make me curl from toes to heart

You sculpted me and colored me in your favorite hue

N’ I bow my head and clasp my hands in the front pew

I long for the days i bowed my head to the Lord

It is a lonely world without a divine faith

But you make me want to repent and move toward

your divine light where I’ll eternally bathe
