Zutara Week 2022 Day 6: Closeness
She hadn’t meant to fall asleep. Yes, she wanted to stay by the fire after everyone else went to bed and she’s willing to admit it was because he intended to stay up as well. But that was only because she was tired of fighting the pull that had been tugging at her these past weeks. Ever since they’d gotten back from their journey together she’d been trying to ignore it. The near constant desire to be closer to him. She didn’t even know what she wanted to do once there, but she wanted it just the same.
Their group was small and everyone tended to stay within a small radius of each other wherever they camped, so it wasn’t like she was ever really that far away from Zuko at any given point, but that didn’t mean she was close enough to him either. Because when they were close, she felt it. She felt the initial speeding of her heart as he offered to help prepare dinner, felt the comforting playfulness that washed over her when they inevitably started their teasing banter. She felt the tension, foreign yet not unpleasant when they tried not to share shy glances. She would try so hard not to look at him yet she always knew exactly where he was, how close, and how far he stood.
It’s not like she meant for it to happen. They all were in the middle of a war and she obviously had more important things to think about than Zuko and how strong he looked with his shirt off when training Aang. Or how absurd it was that he could be a confident and demanding instructor one moment and a socially awkward teammate the next. She tried to keep a friendly distance, made sure she spent the same amount of time with everyone else as she always had. But she always wanted him there.
And late at night, she’d think about how good it felt to be alone with him as they returned from hunting her mother’s murderer. Her grieving had felt raw, like a wound that had never quite scabbed over, but he knew what she needed. He knew when to stay silent, when to distract with travel logistics, when to take charge and make her sleep. What surprised her the most is when he knew she needed comfort. The quiet, easy comfort of scooting closer to her and allowing her to find her way into a soft embrace. She likely would have found comfort with anyone else in their group had they done the same. But he was the only one who had supported her quest and so was the only one there. And it just felt different with him. It felt safe in a way that was unfamiliar and yet felt so natural.
So yes, she purposefully stayed up last night to spend time with Zuko. Because she wasn’t a complete idiot. She knew what the tugging meant and it was clear he felt it too. And yes, they were fighting a war. But did that really mean they had to fight this constant pull to be closer as well? They could spend one late night talking and for all she knew that could be enough to put an end to this feeling.
Except it didn’t. Instead, the night got later and later and they sat closer and closer. And the next thing she knew she was waking up to the pre-dawn stillness of day, tucked in close in Zuko’s arms. The ground was just as firm as always, but somehow she was too comfortable to move. She was reminded of the coldest of winter mornings when getting up and out of the perfect warmth of her bed and blankets felt like the most difficult task on earth. It had to be done. The others would be waking up soon and then there was the whole potential for embarrassing awkwardness with Zuko. But maybe…
“Um. Good morning?” Zuko’s voice is hushed and sleep rough. Katara sighs internally and makes herself sit up, moving out of the circle of his arms to look at him. The sun is just coming up behind him, making a soft halo from his mussed-up hair, and is bright enough to highlight his growing blush as he offers a lopsided smile. And nope. Katara is done pretending this pull between them is anything other than what it clearly is. She’s willing to let it take its time, to simmer on the side while more important things are dealt with, but the tugging can’t actually be fought against. Not anymore. And it feels so good to give in.

Happy @zutaraweek again!
So this ficlet wasn't supposed to be that long, but it just sort of ended up that way. I hope you enjoyed it! Honestly, I didn't plan on doing a second prompt this week just because the first one took longer than planned and my health has been a bit iffy, but then I had the sudden inspiration for this prompt and I just didn't want to let the week pass without trying. And I made it in time! Woot! (I may go back and tweak the image if I can pinpoint what's off about it, but woot all the same!)
Anyways, I wanted to give a shout out to the official Zutara Week mods for keeping this event going. I don't care what time of year it happens, I'm just thankful that Zutara Week is still a thing. It has become something joyous I look forward to each year and I know I'm not the only one who values the beautiful creations and the sense of community it brings. So thank you! <3

Daisies and Love Letters (6): John Egan/OC
Tumblr media
A/N: I am so sorry it's taken me so long to figure out the next bit for these two. I've sort of got myself in a pickle because the only way to go chronologically is post-war, and I never intended for this series to go that far. So we'll see how it goes - I may have some ~interludes feat. more of their letters, but I think we're winding down on our time with John and Ellie.
Six. Goodbyes.
"Tell me you didn't ride your bicycle all the way here." Ellie's hands are on her hips as she stands outside the pub, a rag slung over one shoulder.
"Okay, I won't tell you." Bucky replies, grinning at her. He stops, dismounts, and is pressing a kiss to her cheek before she can reprimand him further. "Hi."
"Hello," she whispers against his jaw, "Come inside." She ushers him in and he settles at a barstool with a wince, trying his best to hide it. "How long before you have to be back?"
"Was hoping you'd let me stay if it gets too late." He admits, the most endearing blush she's ever seen staining the tips of his ears. "Haven't seen you in a few days."
Ellie busies herself with cleaning up the last few glasses from empty tables, the pub nearly empty except for a few locals.
Most of the boys have gone home.
It makes Ellie's hands tremble, because she knows, sooner rather than later, John is going to be one of them, and she hasn't figured out how she's going to handle that quite yet.
“I haven’t been able to get away…” she says with a sigh, setting the last of the clean glasses on the shelf behind the bar. “I’ve had accounts to settle now that everyone’s leaving, and…” she trails off, a melancholy mood settling over her.
Bucky clears his throat. An awkward silence fills the room, and he wishes he knew the right words to say to make her understand how he feels. He’s conflicted, to say the least. This isn’t a fling for him, but he feels silly admitting it, because how could he be so head over heels for a girl with whom he’s only shared a handful of days (and two nights — all innocent, but memorable nonetheless) with?
He can’t really explain to anyone that they’ve done this whole thing out of order, and yet she knows him better than just about anyone here besides Buck.
“We don’t have to talk about that now.” He offers a way out of the conversation, and she smiles at him softly, gratefully.
Her father, funnily enough, had been the one to broach the subject after he met Bucky for the first time, a quiet dinner after the pub had closed early to celebrate VE-Day.
Afterwards, cleaning up, he had said quietly. "I wouldn't hold it against you if you wanted to go, Eleanor."
She had stilled, her hands stuck in the soapy dishwater, her mind spinning. "What do you mean?"
Her father scoffs. "You know what I mean. I saw the way that Major of yours looked at you. He's going to ask you to marry him."
Somehow, it wasn't an outcome Ellie had even remotely considered. It felt too soon. It was too soon. They were clinging to this thing between them so desperately.
Ellie has been putting a small distance between her and John since that night. She can't bring herself to talk to him about it but she also can't really bring herself to stay away... after everything he's been though, Ellie can't stand the thought of hurting him. She doesn't want to.
She just-- she wants, and it's terrifying, no matter which outcome she pictures; the one where he asks her a question and she leaves everything she's ever known behind, or the one where he tells her it's been wonderful, and she's a great girl, but duty calls and he's got to go... they're both too scary to contemplate.
"You're quiet." His voice brings her out of her own head and back to the present. "You've been quiet a lot lately, actually." He ducks his head like he's afraid of saying this to her. Either that, or he's afraid of her response.
The wooden bar between them feels wider than ever.
"Suppose we talk about "it" now rather than later." Ellie says in a rush, hands twisting together in front of her.
"It." John repeats.
"Oh, please don't make this harder on me than it already is, I don't--"
He stands to try to stop her worrying, reaching across the bar to grab her hand. "Hey, stop that." He says, a soothing thumb rubbing across the back of her hand. "When have you ever been scared to talk to me about anything?" His words are clipped, hurt.
"Let's go upstairs. Dad is out." She says, breath leaving her in a sigh.
He dutifully follows her to the upstairs apartment. It's not much, just a place to do the business part of the pub and a place to stay when the walk home at the end of the night seems too long.
It's quiet, the clock on the mantle ticking away.
Bucky feels his heart pounding in his ears with each step. He feels like they're on the precipice of something. Either she's going to put him out of his misery, or she's going to break his heart.
She sits heavily on the sofa, and he sits on the opposite end. Their knees brush. He aches for a more intimate touch, but he wants to give her all the space she needs to think.
"You're going to go home soon." She says, blunt.
He blinks rapidly. "I don't-- nothing's set in stone." He frowns. "Is that what's been bothering you?"
"Yes!" She says, exasperated. "You haven't said anything at all. We've been living in a bubble since you got back, and I'm not sure I'm cut out for it, John."
He flinches, just barely. "Are you-- are you finished with me?"
She moves closer, takes his face in her hands. "I don't want to be finished with you, and that's what scares me." Her voice shakes. "I wish we would have met sooner. I wish you were never shot down. I wish so badly you could have come here and taken me out to dinner, or dancing, and that we could have more time."
"Ellie." His voice is hoarse, but she doesn't let him finish.
"I'm not sure I'm cut out for this, John. Not because I don't want you, but because I do, so badly. And when you go home, it's going to break my heart clean in half. And I'm terrified of that."
"So let me stay." His voice is low, husky. His hands cover hers, still on the sides of his face. His fingers curl into hers, holding her tight, the conviction in his words echoed by his firm touch. "Not just for one night. I'll stay here with you."
Ellie is shaking her head. "I won't take you away from your mother."
His eyes close, emotion getting the better of him. His jaw clenches. "So here we are, then." He drops his hands.
She does the same, but instead her hands find his. Her fingers run over his knuckles, still scarred and scabbed. His hands, that held her so gently and that penned some of the sweetest letters she's ever read.
"Dad thinks I should see America."
John's eyes fly open. "Does he?"
She shrugs. "I've always wanted to go. It's time my brother does a few shifts behind the bar anyway."
He stands abruptly, pacing on the rug in front of her. He stops, one hand running through his hair. "What are you saying?"
"Well I'm not certainly not saying anything if you're not asking--"
He drops, right there, right to his knees in front of her. This time it's he who cups her face, brushing her hair out of her eyes. "I would, you know. I'd ask you right now if I thought you'd say yes."
She frowns. "How do you--"
"Come with me. Meet my parents, my sisters-- God help me." He mutters the last part, and she laughs, though her laugh is clogged by tears. "Come with me, and then we'll decide what to do. And if your answer is that you want to come right back here, then we'll deal with that together too."
Ellie closes the distance between them and kisses him so hard she's worried about his still-healing scrapes and bruises, but he matches her breath for breath.
"No goodbyes," he whispers when they break apart. "Not yet."
He has no idea how the logistics of any of this are going to work, but he'll figure that out later.
As long as he doesn't have to kiss her goodbye tonight, or even tomorrow... he'll figure it out later.

Found this one in my drafts so added it into my list.
Fair warning this really made me sad and I'm the damn author. But this was inspired by the death of the hydro archon in genshin impact and some amazing theories I saw about the knight of dawn. So either way enjoy and tell me what you think!
......................
The castle was quiet.
Everyone had been evacuated due to the coming battle.
Everyone except a few loyal servants and the royal couple.
The knight of dawn sits upon the steps before the empty throne, it has been empty for some time, neglected by the dragon princess regrettably slain by his own two hands. In his arms lay a sleeping newborn babe just barely a few days old, with silken golden hair like his own and boisterous lungs to match his mother’s. His son rests peacefully, oblivious to the heavy stillness that plagues this dark castle, absent of life and light as the torches had been left cold, the knight draws a soft finger across his son’s cheek.
I wonder how he’ll look in ten years. His beloved, Leia jokingly believed that their baby shall grow to be the spitting image of his father, he dearly hoped not; call him vain but he was well aware of his fine features. And the troubles that came with it. The infatuation of others are not something he’d wish upon anyone.
It was nice out here, in the blissful silence. For once the knight was free from all worries and troubles, free from all the heavy expectations, free from the thought of what’s to come. Here, it was just him and his child.
The calm before the storm. His mind supplies unhelpfully, the knight’s content smile falls and he sighs through his nose. Yes, it all floods back to him why exactly the castle is as it is, their enemy comes at the ready to rid them off the map, and he’s to hold them off as best he can so that everyone else can run to safety. Thus that thankfully includes his wife and son.
Personally he was worried that Henrik would deny them sanctuary, with the birth of the knight’s son there was a new heir that could challenge him for the throne, and the knight  knew full well how greedy for power Henrik was, knew that he now saw the knight as a broken tool the day he married his beloved.
He knew that this night would also be his last, the odds were too high in their enemy's favour and he was too weak from the endless battles prior, perhaps this was simply another reason why Henrik thought to have him lead the charge, what better way to be rid of a brittle blade than to use it up until it shatters to smithereens?
All he could do was fight long enough so that his family was safe, and by the seven he will fight till his sword can no longer stay in his grasp. Fighting’s all you're good for anyways.
He’s heard what the three great fairies plan to do to keep his son safe, and he is thankful for their help, but a selfish part of him only wishes for another way, to keep his son from a long, unbearably lonely slumber. He’s only agreed for the promise of his boy living a happy, peaceful life with someone who will truly love the child as he surely does, one devoid of the pain and sorrows of war.
A world in a time of peace, what a pleasant thought. He’d only wish that he’d get to experience it with his family, but if his son gets to live through such a life then he shall be content with that. I wonder what you’ll do when you're older, will he carry a sword like his father? Or perhaps have a more quiet hobby? Will he make any friends? Someone who he can compete with, to help each other reach new heights? What will his favourite food be? Will he have an affinity for animals as well? The knight wasn’t sure about blessings being inherited but he'd love to see what becomes of it. He lifts his child up to his cheek, one of the only places deprived of glistening cold silver, breathing in the milky scent that all infants had, and felt his heart twist painfully as eyes beautiful as the rising dawn slowly blink up at him.
He’d love to see who this tiny little babe becomes, even if only for a moment…
Oh! Birds and other wildlife seem to have flocked down to one of the windows, as silent as possible as to not startle the infant, just watching them. The knight knew why they were there, they were there to say farewell, among them were the families of various animal friends he’s made in the past, of the ones who helped care for him when he was young. He stands up with his baby in his arms and goes to greet his old friends, the smallest of the birds gather round the babe’s blanket while a deer sniffed at his golden hair. Sweet giggles fill the room and as the knight smiles fondly at the scene he almost fails to notice a strange new arrival.
Time seemed to slow, for squeaking pleasantly to the child from above on the window sill, was a tiny bat. It was so peculiar, normally they preferred to keep to themselves. Usually the knight was not one who typically believed in signs or omens, but something about this bat stirred something in his chest, and he suddenly recalled that day when he was thrown into the waterways, of that fae who held the princess’s egg with such tenderness, the bat is now nuzzling his babe with a similar softness and he too reaches out a finger to stroke it’s fur, which it didn’t take too kindly to, snapping at his hand with such an insulted look upon its face that the knight nearly laughed, somehow the look reminded him of the tales told of the general of the right, its with this thought that he wonders if the general had made it to safety that day. If my guess is right he may as well have, he thought once the bat finally let him scritch under its chin, he knew deep in his heart that if it was to be fated then he could think of no one better to take care of his child despite their being enemies.
I wonder what name he’ll give you.
Beyond the horizon the knight could faintly see the first rays of dawn stretching across the pinkening sky.
Ah, it appears our time together is coming to a close.
While he knew what was to come, faced with death he still found himself a little afraid. Was this what the Princess felt when she had to leave her egg? He thinks feeling his breath stutter and fingers curl tighter around his bundle.
He presses one final gentle kiss to the babe’s forehead. I apologise for leaving you like this my son, he tucks his treasured ring around the boy’s neck, please forgive your fool of a father.
The hour of his execution is almost here.
In a way this felt deserving, it was just like that day, leaving slashed bodies in his wake, the glare of dawn beating down upon rivers of red and iron. Only this time he knew full well what he was fighting for.
I pray that he won’t become what I was.
His strength wanes, his helmet laid cracked and caved in on the floor like scrap metal, leaving his determination visible to all.
My dearest little one.
Should you ever raise a sword like I.
The morning sun gazes down upon the knight, upon the gleaming sword painted a lustrous crimson in his chest, his failing vision fixed on the beautiful briar crawling along the castle, he gives one last smile for his sleeping son.
I pray that you will carry it with pride and for a life you truly strive for.

Cry by cigarettes after sex + matt murdock x reader
Wait for Me to Stay
This drabble is part of JJ’s Mixtape - a mini series based on my followers’ favourite songs and characters. You can read more of them here!
Song Prompt: Cry
Pairing: Matt Murdock x reader (romantic, no pronouns used)
Word Count: 1200
CW: This is about grief and PTSD and how the body holds onto emotional pain. Depictions of the snap/mass death. This one’s a little heavier. Swearing.
Note: Thank you for your beautiful request, anon! I’ve been thinking about grief for a while, and I’ve been wanting to write something about Matt coming back from the Snap so this felt fitting. Hope you like it 💜
Tumblr media
Your bed still felt like a graveyard.
The feeling wasn’t one that existed despite the years, but because of them.
Still, your bed was like a final resting place for the life you’d had.
For his life.
The memories would swarm you, a choking embrace, a melancholic fatigue whenever you'd lay down; it was like you could touch everything that wasn't there. No more warmth stored in the thread count, no steady rise and fall of Your Love on those rare night he'd slept so soundly.
Except now, the graveyard was haunted.
Because he was back. Everyone came back, and their return was like their departure: shrouded in chaos.
It was disorienting and messy and too much, just like that day all those years ago when Matt's hand had tightened around yours to pull you out of the way of a bus swerving off the road.
The driver had disappeared. Turned to dust.
By the time you recovered from the adrenaline spike of nearly being flattened by careening metal, you felt an eerie lightness in your hand and Matt was gone before you had the chance to hear him choke out his last breath.
There wouldn’t have been much chance to hear it over almost every car colliding with something, be it another car or a mail drop box, a lamppost, a person who hadn’t evaporated, the side of a building. You’d never seen a city-wide pileup before. Never heard one either.
After all these years, the only piece of solace you offered yourself was that Matt didn’t have to hear the carnage.
A little more than five years later you found yourself sinking to the floor of your local coffee shop -It's happening again, it's happening again, it's happening again- was the only thought running through your head. Except it wasn't a coherent thought. More of a feeling, a guttural reaction. You sank deeper, holding your head to your knees, palms glued to your ears because the screaming had been the worst part the first time - when the Ones Left Behind had collectively grieved, wailing and clawing at the ground, at the air, at the scraps of the people they loved.
It was a stranger who'd managed to pull you out of your cocoon. You only started crying when you felt the touch of another person because as far as you knew until that point, the whole world had disappeared this time.
Except it hadn't.
There was a different kind of reassurance in this person's voice. "It's… okay," he'd said to you. You couldn't respond, remaining still and quiet in your shelter from the war zone.
Everyone was shaken but he sat with you. You never caught his name, but he stayed on the floor beside you until you managed to unfurl enough to listen, to realise that the cars had crashed because people had appeared in the middle of the road. Out of nowhere. That the screams were from shock when the street suddenly doubled in population because people were materialising out of thin air. "Holy shit… they’re really back," the man had whispered.
He only left you when his phone rang and he broke down into the sobs of a destroyed man about to rebuild.
You weren’t even sure how you’d found your way back to the loft. There was no memory of moving through the streets, only the distinct feeling of a shell-shocked weightlessness. It didn’t feel real, even when he burst through the front door.
To him, it’d been nothing. No time had passed, no loss had taken root.
To you, it had been over five years since Matt had died, and two years since you lost hope in the Avengers. That kind of grief burrows into your bones.
“I’m trying Matt,” you whispered when you’d struggle to fall asleep next to him, because you’d grown accustomed to sleeping alone.
“I know you are,” he assured you, and didn’t fight any time you had to sleep on the couch.
It's a pain tattooed on the tips of your fingers, staining everything of his that you touched. Because, now, when he leaves his shoes by the front door it doesn't feel like he'll ever put them on and come and go again - it feels like that day, some day more three years after The Vanishing, some day right after you lost hope, when a new friend arrived at your door and helped you pack him away.
“What are you doing up here?” Matt’s voice came from behind your shoulder as you looked up at the towering skylines. It was four in the morning and you couldn’t sleep again.
You shrugged. “I come up here a lot now.” To see the lights in the windows, to try and remind yourself that life was still being lived.
It was so weird seeing his things around the loft again. It should feel like a happy memory, or like deja vu at the very least, but all you can see are the things you sealed away in boxes.
Truth be told, you hadn't held onto them out of sentiment or pain or hope. It had been pure brain fog. Every ounce of your cognitive capacity was firing on all cylinders to just get through every day of this new life, you couldn't think about the boxes in the hallway closet or taking them to Goodwill.
“What am I supposed to do?” Matt finally broke, almost three months after he came back. You were in tears, having panicked when you woke up nestled into a warm body.
“I’m sorry, Matt, I’m so fucking sorry,” you choked out, pulling your knees into your chest as your vision became hot and blurred. “I’m trying.”
He knew you were trying.
He could feel it in the way you’d cling to him when car horns blared, or when there was any commotion on the street, really. He’d hear it in the hesitation on your tongue when he asked if you were okay and it was one of the times you weren’t. He knew you knew you were overjoyed that he was back.
Your mind knew it. Your body was still catching up.
All of the people you lost, all that love, that security, all those years… that doesn’t go away overnight. Your heart had atrophied, your capacity for companionship had gone so unused that you’d adjusted to this new life. To open yourself up again, there would be growing pains. But you were trying.
“Please don’t leave,” you begged, wiping your tears on your sleeve as the couch sank with his weight next to you.
As he’d grown to do, Matt waited until you came to him. After a few minutes you turned and laid your weary head down on his lap. After a few more, he gently caressed his fingers through your hair.
He couldn’t promise he would never leave again because, as he learned, that might not be up to him.
So as you fell asleep on him for the first time in over five years, he made you a promise he could keep:
“Your pain will not push me away.”

Just a silly thought i had- what if the god of war characters were adorable cats???
Okay so Kratos would be named Kittos, and he’d be a white maine coon with a scar on his eye! (deep down he’s a black cat to me though) OH AND HE’D HAVE A CRUNCHY MEOW!! You’d have to slowly earn his trust for him to feel comfortable with you petting him or getting near his baby. Otherwise he will hiss and bite. He comes and goes as he pleases.
Atreus would be Mewtreus, and he’d be a little orange tabby kitty!! He’ll always be following behind his papa💗 He has a high pitched meow that slightly deepens as he becomes a teenager.
Faye would be a pretty orange Norwegian forest cat, who Mewtreus got his looks from. Her name would be the same because I think it’s just so pretty. A soft, light meow and she’s very watchful yet playful! For an outdoor cat she’s not very dirty at all!
Freya would be a Balinese cat and Freyr would be a Balinese or Siamese cat! Their names would be Mewa and Mewer :) Mewer really loves his uh…cat grass. He cuddles nicely and has a stuffed toy boat named Skiðblaðnir that he loves very much💖
Mimir would be an Oriental shorthair because he loves to talk, and oriental shorthairs are too! Of course i’m going to name him Mewmir😂 He’d be a sweet little kitty who needs a kitty wheelchair but trust he’s always on bumpers when it’s time to fight! He loves pets and will meow until you give him what he wants.
Sindri would be a Sphynx cat but has patches of hair, and Brok would too but he’d be bald(totally NOT because Brok is a skirted egg) They have skippty pap sessions sometimes but they’ll put aside their differences quickly. Sindri loves his personal space, but Brok also loves Sindri’s personal space.
Thor would be an orange persian cat who is fiercely protective of his last daughter, Mewed. (I’m not very creative with the names I know) He will hiss and swat at anyone that gets too close to his baby except for Sif. Has a deep meow and beautiful coat.
Baldur is an Abyssinian and only lets those close to to him pet him, and does not like his mother. He is an outdoor cat that will only come back every blue moon. Kittdur loves to hunt, and would bring back dead prey to as presents.
Sif would be named Sniff and is a Siberian Forest cat! She won’t meow much, but when she does it’s very adorable.
Odin would also be an either an Oriental shorthair because he also talks A LOT !! If not an oriental cat, he’d be a Cornish Rex. Meowdin would be one of those cats that steps on your face in the middle of your night.
Angrboda would be an adorable Calico Kitty!!!! Meowgrboda is her name🫶🏽 She and Mewtreus will cuddle on occasion. She’s the kind of kitty who will stay in your arms all night and snuggle you! She loved to be picked up and enjoys challenging toys. She’s an adorable indoor cat who loves her toys!
Heimdall would be named Hissdall and is a Turkish Van who hisses at everyone except his owner. Will swat at other cats and enjoys his solitude. He tried to bite Mewtreus one time and Kittos didn’t take kindly to that.
Týr would be a brown oriental shorthair, is surprisingly very quiet for his breed but sweet as can be! Will circle around your legs for pets! Has the trademark honk meow and it’s a true treat to hear it.
Do you guys know that one cat meme and it’s just like cuddled nicely vs. bit my ass? Yeah that’s Mewer and Hissdall.
This was fun to write!! I’d would like to write about the Valkyries as cats next, would anyone be interested in seeing that? Please let me know if you are! :)

Little Red Courgette by @blamebrampton (T, 31k)

The Secret Keeper by @the-fools-errand (M, 225k)

What do they do all day? (More headcanons) I am very bored.
Peppino: Delivers pizzas, but business is shit sooo... He and Gustavo probably play cards while waiting for orders. At home, he watches T.V. or learns new dances. Unbelievably flexible for his age and weight. Goes to Noisette's movie nights every now and again.
Gustavo: Outside of the restaurant, he still loves to cook. He takes his time cooking himself a good dinner (and sometimes will invite Peppino over for a meal. He worries about him.) He likes to teach Brick new tricks or simply pets him. They like to watch shows together. Goes to Noisette's every Monday for movie night.
BONUS Brick: Naps! Big on naps! Likes to snuggle up to Gustavo or lays his head on Gustavo's lap. Has some toys around that he likes to play with. His favorite toy is Gus's shoes.
Mr. Stick: Works in finances, probably works full time. Outside of work, he gambles or stays home and watches whatever show is trending. He either loves it or hates it. Very critical. Enjoys a good nap quite often. Might have a drink or two after 5. Sometimes goes to movie night at Noisette's.
Pepperman: PAINTS, DUH. Outside of painting, he probably does models, like cars or rockets or whatever. He's always trying some new form of art. Tried origami, but his fingers were too big. Definitely cried over it. Not invited to Movie Night Mondays.
The Vigilante: Works on the farm. Feeding the cows, cleaning the pastures, bailing hay, etc. He cries happily every time a calf is born. Loves the farm life, it brings him peace and joy. He prefers it over being the sheriff. However, he usually only works when there's a bounty involved since the western district is pretty quiet crime wise. Goes to Noisette's every other Monday for movie night.
The Noise: Works A LOT. Whether it be on set or in office, he works anywhere from 8-12 hours depending on the day. Typically takes a nap when he gets home unless it's close to dinnertime. After that, he might watch an episode or two of something (and criticizes it, much like Mr. Stick. He thinks his shows are almost always better.) Sometimes he might play a bit of video games. On his days off, he practices skate tricks, naps, or gets into trouble. Might "accidentally" get a little too drunk in The Pig City and have to call Noisette for a ride home. Doesn't usually participate in Movie Night Mondays, because he doesn't like the people. Calls his mom every Tuesday.
Noisette: The cafe is only open 3-4 days a week from 5 a.m. to 12 p.m., with her getting home around 1 or 1:30. She has a group of friends, her girls, who she goes to brunch with occasionally. They definitely gossip. I imagine them like a younger, less boring version of Sex and The City. While Noise is gone, she watches his shows. For some reason, he gets all bashful when she watches them while he's around. She's his #1 fan, after all. She also watches a lot of cheesy shows and movies. Loves romcoms and chick flicks. Hosts Movie Night Mondays with just about everyone she knows. Except Pepperman. She despairs him.
Fake Peppino: Depending on the day, he will sit and stare at the wall ALL DAY. He doesn't always need entertainment. He might help out Gerome and clean up whatever Gerome simply can't stomach (guts, bones, etc.) Some days, he's silly. He'll zoom around the slum. He might want to play. (Stated in a previous post) He likes to play fetch and tug if war, typically using something important... Like a gun or a knife. Something he isn't supposed to have, he will pick up and run away from whoever is trying to take it from him. Only allowed to explore the rest of the tower when SUPERVISED, typically being kept on some sort of leash. Pizzahead refers to this activity as "walking the frog." Goes to Noisette's every Monday for movie night.
Pizzaface: Surprisingly, he's typically on autopilot unless it's SHOWTIME. He floats around the tower keeping everything and everyone in check. Basically a security guard. Plays cards in the saloon with Noisette every now and then. Might knock over one of Pepperman's statues for a laugh. Might go to Vigi's and pet a cow. Might argue with The Noise just for the sake of pissing Noise off. Sometimes has long talks with John or Gerome, feels bad that they got caught up in the tower mess.
Pizzahead: Works in the lab a lot. Always trying to create the perfect clone. Sometimes will tinker with Pizzaface's mechanics. Goes to the cafe every now n then to grab a coffee and chat with Noisette. Dresses up like a cowboy and has a drink at the saloon. Stalks Peppino. Might take the frog for a walk. Not allowed at The Fun Farm after he tried to steal a baby cow. "It was just so cute!" Will talk to John on the fifth floor, much to John's dismay. He also chats with the toppin monsters and tinkers with their gears. Always goes to Movie Night Mondays, he and Noisette are besties despite her not realizing that he's the "Pizzaboy Guy."
Pillar John: Stares at the wall. He can't do much else since he's stuck in the fifth floor bound by cheese. Might chat with Pizzahead out of boredom, even if he doesn't like him. Talks with Gerome at any chance they get. Made good friends with Gustavo while Peppino was running through the levels. Wishes he could go to Movie Night Mondays. Also wishes he could go to the cafe and order some food (crazy, I know, but based off the treasures used to resurrect him in the end, I think it's safe to assume he'd eat LITERALLY anything.)
Gerome: He doesn't get to do much of anything but his job. Might sneak away for lunch, a nap, or to chat with John. Goes to the cafe for a coffee. Might have a chat with Peppino or Gustavo. Mostly avoids everyone else. Wishes he could go to Movie Night Mondays, Noisette still invites him every single week.

Tumblr media Tumblr media
I will never ever ever ever get over how All Might was immediately on board to follow Izuku to different school, like didn’t say a damn thing either. Even tho like 30 minutes prior
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Like I know Dekus his successor and he has a responsibility to stay by him but between
his role as a teacher
condoning restraining Katsuki(a child in crisis!!) by placing that medal on him on the international broadcasting of a spectacle that has replaced the Olympics and is stated to influence these kids while careers
and then thrusting him farther into negative lime light(even though it wasn’t anyone but the villains fault) by losing his powers while rescuing him
You’d think he’d recognize that he has some serious responsibility to Katsuki too, like separate from Deku & OFA All Might has unintentionally caught Katsuki into his orbit & as an adult he should be able to not only recognize that but step up to that
I refuse to believe that All Might actually cares about Katsuki as an individual at all, frankly I think he low key seriously dislikes him and originally had no intention of ever seeing him succeed and would have loved an excuse to separate Izuku from him
Don’t agree?
Let me ask you this, do you honestly believe that if it had been Inko hitting Izuku All Might would have looked the other way?
I don’t, I guarantee that All Might would have called in on every favor he could think of and Inko would have been losing custody before the sunset
I think Deku told All Might one too many of Bakugo’s character flaws during their pre UA training sessions and All Might decided he hated him and would never let it go
Izuku venting should have been fine but All Might struggles with maturity and emotional intelligence, he never unpacked his trauma around losing Nana & put her on a pedestal
It left him with a mindset that let him blindly supporting Izukus reckless tendencies for far too long and it was only corrected by the intervention of others like recovery girl
while also had him under the impression that Izuku would just magically understand OFA because obviously it was his closeness to his mentor that made him such a great hero
He never took into consideration that OFA was much stronger now or that not only is Izuku just of a smaller build to begin with but he had less time to train, like we see All Might was already pretty solidly built and involved with Nana in middle school.
Izuku only had time to build up enough strength and stamina so that OFA didn’t immediately kill him and it’s treated like he’s just not as much of a natural as AM when that’s only such a small part of the problem 😩
After the home visits All Might definitely does try harder for Izuku, to be more available to him and after DvsK2 All Mights consideration of Katsuki is slightly more sensitive and nuanced but tbh it’s all still through a lense of ‘remember he’s important to Izuku, if he improves so does Izuku’
What really confirms that for me is that there was zero reason All Might couldn’t have told the class to make an exception and let Katsuki into Izukus hospital room if he woke up
The class has known since before the training camp that they mean a lot to each other & have know each other for like forever(even if it is messy), but everything during and after camp surely renforced it
They know that Bakugo went off alone with Deku at the beginning of the war and stayed with him throughout it until he got stabbed, it’d make sense that upon waking up not dead he’d wanna see the person he sacrificed himself for
Most importantly absolutely everyone knows what a dramatic hassle Bakugo can be, they could have just written it off as a precaution to keep the hospital quiet 💀
There was zero reason that in however long existed between them waiting for Izuku to wake up and All Might delivering the letters All Might couldn’t have filled Bakugo in or at least offered him some kind of personal communication and comfort
He should have felt some obligation to do so after everything, he should have known better.
Yes it was Izukus decision to leave & knowing Izuku it was a safer bet to go along with that plan so that he didn’t do it 100% alone but All Might should have known that cutting Katsuki out completely wasn’t just a tactically bad idea it was a cold and callous one too
Also All Might just generally enjoyed beating the shit out of Bakugo just a wee bit too much, imo, man looks like it was his birthday and Christmas all in one
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
All Might, the number one hero for decades, repeatedly introducing the back of Bakugo’s skull to the pavement was a conscious choice that he made with joy in his heart, Idc how much you don’t like that take, because there were a dozen other choices he could have made
And that’s how you know Deku is bilnded by his admiration of All Might. Otherwise he may have noticed that All Might, for all his support of Bakugo helping Izuku become a stronger hero doesn’t support Bakugo being in his personal life, or Bakugo being alive in general 💀
Honestly I can see why Katsuki procrastinated ever getting All Might to sign his card, between fanboying, personal guilt, pride, and the fact that he probably has a sneaking suspicion that AM doesn’t like him it makes sense that he never once brought it up over the course of an entire year 🥺💔

Steve Rogers + alpha/beta/omega dynamics: a fic rec list
Come Home to Me by ABrighterDarkness (@alwaysabrighterdarkness) (Steve Rogers/Howard Stark | Explicit | 25,214 words)
Summary: Howard had resigned himself to never knowing the name of the man on the other end of that potential bond. He had resigned himself to the fact that there was a very high chance he would never see him again, get to know him, and with any small amount of luck, get to love him.
The Mad Coupling of Hope and Force by blakefancier (@blakefancier) (Steve Rogers/Howard Stark | Rape/Non-Con, Underage | Explicit | 23,189 words)
Summary: Howard Stark was perfectly happy being an unattached, unbonded omega. Unfortunately, Johann Schmidt and the universe had other ideas.
Have Sunlight, Too, and Clover by chaosmanor, yamyamyam (James "Bucky" Barnes/Steve Rogers | Graphic Depictions Of Violence | Explicit | 15,426 words)
Summary: Steve wakes up in the future, only to find that... everyone but him is part wolf now?! Hydra's attempts to replicate the super-soldier serum resulted in a virus that induced wolf-y features and WELP that went poorly. Now he's tracking down an actual full-on werewolf with the Avengers, y'know, to pass the time, when suddenly his body decides to wolf up after all. Dramatically. Meanwhile, that full-on werewolf they were chasing turns out to be oddly familiar...
The rest are below the cut!
How Can You Go On With Such Conviction? by Jaune_Chat (@jaune-chat) (OT6, James "Bucky" Barnes/Steve Rogers | Explicit | 23,085 words)
Summary: Steve Rogers is a professional alpha with an unfortunately famous name. A veteran who specializes in people with top-secret clearance, he’s been having some particularly interesting clients lately. This brings him to the attention of SHIELD, who think an alpha like him could be just the person to help a very ill Asset they have. But Steve has more up his sleeve than just one set of skills when it comes to helping the people he cares for.
Threads, Frayed and Whole by Jaune_Chat (@jaune-chat) (Steve Rogers/Natasha Romanov | Teen And Up Audiences | 2,360 words)
Summary: Alphas gift their omegas with trinkets to show they care. As a young operative, all Natasha could ever make was what she found. But how could that compete with what her fellow alphas were offering today?
Stealth Mission by MountainRose (@sharkbeneaththelotus) (Steve Rogers/Tony Stark | Teen And Up Audiences | 3,717 words)
Summary: Tony gets himself onto a live fire team in the Chitauri war, keen to show that his mods can fucking do something to help, and that being an O isn't a good reason to sit around at home. Keeping his orientation quiet ends up being a little harder than he realises.
Dynamics by Not_You (OT6 | Explicit | 6,463 words)
Summary: Working on this for this prompt: The avengers are either in the early stages of a relationship together, or are just about to get there. They are all very willing and interested in each other, but Clint is having the hardest time accepting that the others really want him and aren't just including him out of pity. The others are somewhat aware of Clint's feelings but haven't yet worked out how to show him that he is wrong. The avengers are somehow zapped into an A/B/O alternative universe where they have a/b/o orientations. They are all alphas, or alphas and betas, except Clint who is an omega. (alternatively they could stay in their reality and just be zapped with orientations, but I liked the idea of them adjusting to their relationship in a world where a/b/o was normal)
Celestial Navigation by sabrecmc (@sabrecmc) (Steve Rogers/Tony Stark | Creator Chose Not To Use Archive Warnings | Explicit | 210,994 words)
Summary: Celestial Navigation: 18 year old Omega!Tony finds himself Bonded to Captain Steve Rogers. He isn't happy about it until he is.
The Heat of Victory by sphagnum (OT6 | Explicit | 8,203 words)
Summary: “Oh,” he said, and his tone must have been strange, because when he looked up everyone was looking back at him. Even Banner, who was leaning heavily against Thor and had one eye closed, was watching him with the other. “What?” Stark said, spinning around theatrically to look behind him. “Are there aliens still kicking around? Another nuke? An earthquake, the rapture, what is it, where’s the fire?” “No emergency,” Steve said. He wished he still had his helmet on, something to at least give his face partial cover, but putting it back on now would be ridiculous. “It’s just. We won.” “Oh,” Banner said, and straightened up a little. “Are you--” “About to, yeah.” “Hey,” Stark said sharply, “no secret side conversations in my Tower. What’s going on?” Stark was a civilian, Steve reminded himself, and bit back the quick retort that wanted to spill out. He opened the collar of his uniform instead, undoing buckles until the tough leather gaped open over the scent glands at his neck.
have a piece of american dream by suzukiblu (@suzukiblu) (Darcy Lewis/Steve Rogers | Explicit | 9,705 words)
Summary: An Avenging intern’s life is not an easy life, Darcy has learned. She wishes things had worked out with Ian, a little--at least he’d understand that no, “I have to measure Thor’s rainbow bridge” wasn’t an excuse. Or a euphemism. But no, he had to stay in London and be inaccessible, which just figures and is also kind of ironic considering half their research is focused on what is effectively rainbow-powered teleportation. Seriously, though, who else is she supposed to date, Captain America?
Gimme Shelter by Woad (Steve Rogers/Tony Stark | Graphic Depictions Of Violence, Rape/Non-Con | Explicit | 36,761 words)
Summary: Steve finds himself captive in another universe where an alien called the Collector is in league with Hydra. They’ve already broken another universe’s version of Steve -- who they keep referring to as something called an “omega” -- and promise that the same is in store for him. But there’s a catch: in this universe soulmates are literal, and they seem to think Steve has one. Fortunately, it might just be what he needs to get through their re-education.

Scenes from December (15/24)
Klaine Advent Day Fifteen : Pump
***
December, 2039
Kurt’s weekend morning started out as any other; a homemade latte with two espresso shots and a pump of vanilla, scrambled eggs with toast, and his seat at the kitchen table where he could scroll through the New York Times and Washington Post on his phone.  He grimaced, however, at the fact that he had left his reading glasses on his nightstand next to his bed, and either had to get up to get them, or resign himself to enlarging the font on his phone.
Unlike usual, however, it was a quiet morning.  Blaine and Tracy had gotten up early so they could visit colleges around the city - unlike her sister, Tracy wanted to stay closer to home, and possibly save money by staying with them instead of trying to find a place of her own.  Kurt opted to stay home - he could use the time to clean and catch up on a little work and generally enjoy the empty house.
Only, the house wasn’t completely empty.  Dragging herself from her old bedroom was Katie, wrapped up in a blanket, eyes puffy and red and completely sleep deprived.  Once they had moved her out to Boston, Kurt hadn’t expected her home all that much - but she had shown up late last night, in tears over a broken relationship, and in what felt like an oddly circular moment in his life, Kurt welcomed her back with comforting arms, even if she insisted she didn’t want to talk about it.
Kurt motioned for her to have a seat - but kept quiet.  It broke his heart to see her in so much pain.  First loves were hard.  First break ups even harder.  Kurt couldn’t say that he really liked the guy all that much - and for her benefit, he was glad this might be the end.  But it wasn’t his place to say his opinion.  Kurt (and Blaine) had always tried to allow the girls to make mistakes on their own so they could grow from them.
“It’s over,”she said softly, her voice full of resignation.  “We talked about it all last night, and there’s no coming back.  We’re done.”  She sat in her old chair, placing her head squarely down on the table.  “All that time we spent together -- we were going to go backpacking in Europe next summer -- all of it just gone now.  Just done.”
“Oh, honey.” Kurt leaned over to rub her shoulder.  “I’m so sorry.”
“Well, apparently everything everyone ever told me was right,” Katie said, a bitterness in her voice.  “No one finds who they’re supposed to be with at age fifteen -- except you and dad and your perfect marriage.”
“Hey now,” Kurt responded, eyeing her hard.  “First of all, I was seventeen when I met your dad.  Secondly, your dad and I broke up, twice, in college because at your age - you barely have a sense of who you are, let alone what you actually want or need from a relationship.  And thirdly, we hardly have a perfect marriage. I don’t know if you’re aware of this - but your dad drives me crazy.”
Katie sat up, interest piqued.  “Really?”
Kurt nodded.  “Really.  Why do you think I’m not out with Dad and Tracy right now?”
“Because Tracy knows the two of you are more irritating together?” It was a gentle tease, but Kurt still arched an eyebrow at her, which got her to smile.  “Okay, why?”
“Because sometimes the two of us need some space,” Kurt said.  “Your dad needs to have a television or radio or something on in every room he’s in.  He always leaves all the cupboards open.  And when he shaves, he seems to refuse to clean out the sink.  And there’s the perpetual war we’ve fought for the past three decades over what temperature the house should be at.  It all drives me crazy.  And I drive him crazy, too. Apparently he still doesn’t appreciate the value of a little bronzer nor does he understand the importance of cheesecake in my life.
Katie lets out a little laugh.  “I guess I never really thought about it.  It was just… the two of you being the two of you.”
Kurt nodded.  “Yup.  And those little idiosyncrasies are also why I love him.  Look, I get it.  Relationships are hard, and when they don’t work, even harder.  I know you can’t see this now - but either you’ll work it out, or you won’t.  Maybe you’ll find someone who you find is worth the effort.  Maybe you’ll find that being on your own is a valid choice, too.  But right now, it’s okay to feel how you do.”
Katie let out a sad little sigh. “What I really would like now is some ice cream.  Is that weird?”
Kurt laughed.  “No.  But we don’t have any now because your dad’s greatest enemy in the world right now is sugar.  However, we can go to that waffle place that’s close by.  They have excellent French toast, and it’s my treat.  What do you say?”
Katie smiled, warmly. “Yeah, I’d like that.”  He knew it’ll take a while before her heart’s fully mended.  But at least this was a good first step.
“Good.  Then we can pick up a cheesecake on the way home - because, god, it’s been a month and your dad is crazy.”

TesShiptober Prompt 1: First Kiss
Thank you @hombrediablo for the prompt list!
A breeze drifted by, carrying the first smell of fall. Crisp and cool, the air clear for once. A leaf, golden and brown, fell beside her. The gentle lapping of waves on the lake shore eased her tension, shoulders relaxing. She could almost forget the war raging in Cyrodiil, the three alliances vying for control of the Ruby Throne, communities being destroyed and ways of life ruined.
She could almost forget that she’s died.
“Don’t tell me you’re thinking of death again.”
Cassia looked back with a chuckle. “Hard not to, that seems to be our specialty.
Cassia is an Imperial, tall and built for strength from all her years of training. Her shoulders were wide, even compared to her male family members, along with her stance just so she was always in balance. She was built for battle. Unlike her companion.
Aodhan is short, his head stopping at her chest. His shoulders were much narrower and his arms lanky and thin. Even his face was narrow, chin and nose coming to a sharp point while Cassia’s, even though her jaw was well defined, were much rounder in comparison. Even his eyes are a soft brown. She thought hers were a too harsh red.
They were the complete opposite of each other, It made no sense for either to have any commonality. And, yet she couldn’t think of anyone else she’d rather travel with.
“Hmm, maybe! But there are other things to think about!” Aodhan plopped himself down next to Cassia, his small size leaving him plenty of room on the rock she’d situated herself on. “Like how things won’t be so hot anymore!”
“Haha, won’t you be cold?”
Aodhan looked down at his… ‘armor.’ A jack, chest open to the air with only his shoulders, arms, and sides covered. But he’s a mage and stands behind me during battle, she thought, he can be a bit more lax with his armor.
“I can change it up! Throw on a coat and then I’ll be good to go!” His face split into a grin as he leaned back. “Besides, I’m used to the cold. Valenwood gets blanketed with snow so I know how to survive. But what about you? Does Cyrodiil get cold?”
She rolled her eyes. “It gets cool but not cold. The north will get some snow but my family never goes there during the winter, so I’ve never seen snow.”
“You… you’ve never seen snow?”
She shrugged. Snow was never important to her. Why did other races get so excited about it? Snow was cold, wet, it slowed things down, and made traveling even harder. Not seeing that particular weather phenomenon won’t be a loss in her books. She wouldn’t have to worry about somehow getting her armor dry and warm again.
But it appears Aodhan wasn’t having it. “Well then just wait until winter is here! The first snowfall is always beautiful! The way the land disappears under a blanket of white, how quiet everything gets, and nothing beats tracking prey and finally finding it!”
“Sounds miserable.” She groaned at the thought of fighting through those elements. “Can you think of anything good that comes with winter that doesn’t involve being outside?”
Aodhan paused to consider. His arms crossed while a hand moved up to tap his chin.
“See? There’s nothing good for it when insi-“
“There is one thing.”
She couldn’t help how sarcastic her response was. “Oh really? Enlighten me.”
“Some days are too cold to go out, sometimes there’s a blizzard that forces everyone to stay inside. On those days, my family would start a fire. Roast whatever we’d caught the previous day. My siblings and I would play around.” Aodhan scooted closer to her. “And my parents would sit reaaally close together.”
A hand was suddenly on her cheek, another on her side, she felt herself being pulled down to Aodhan’s eye level until she saw nothing except those brown eyes. Brown eyes that were softer than even the highest quality bed one could find at an inn.
Their lips met and Cassia’s body, tense from all her training, fully relaxed. It was warm, so warm compared to the cool air, almost like a fire. What, what was this feeling? What was she supposed to do? Her face felt too hot. Was she sick? Maybe, her heart was racing, too.
Aodhan pulled away with a smile. His face was red. “They would do something like that.”
Cassia sat straight up to touch her face. The heat was already dying, and her heart was slowing down. She swallowed. “W-well, maybe winter won’t be so bad after all.

Are you still doing the 5+ headcanon thing? If yes, what about an AU of LU where Legend can hear other's thoughts, if he wants to or not?
oh yeah his (game kinda) canon telepathic abilities! they don’t get enough use, making them involuntary though, v interesting...
1- Legend is used to being alone. His uncle and he lived alone, away from the castle or town for a reason- his abilities. After his uncle’s death, Legend adventured alone whenever possible. (note: normally i don’t love using the tfh dopples and dont consider that version to be canon, not least because its just really funny if ‘adventuring with two other individual heroes named link’ was just another part of the lu thing that Legend’s been there, done that. but here he used dopples and was happy for it, due to not having a crowded mind.)
2- But that’s not an option here! Legend goes through a portal and is suddenly accosted by thoughts, all confused, and he's very quiet through the meeting and explanation because his head hurts enough as it is, filtering through so many thoughts. He quickly gets a reputation for being a quieter one, preferring to be at the edge of the group but also for being better at reading people.
3- Legend once asked his uncle if he should tell people about his ability, since it didn't seem fair to invade the privacy of their mind without giving them a chance to back away and prevent it. His uncle told him to keep it secret, thinking he would either be disbelieved or distrusted. Legend was about to tell the others in the chain, since he knows they'd believe and trust him anyway, but as he was trying to think about how, Wild had a memory resurface and Twilight, staying with him, was brooding about Time's Shade. Legend decided to let it stay secret again here, then, to allow the others the comfort of having secrets- or thinking they did, anyway
4- Legend DOES use it to his advantage though. He cheated on the bet with Wars, because he had already heard Time thinking about his wife, very much calling her Malon and not Zelda in his head. He's known about Wolfie and Four from the beginning. He has a suspicion about Hyrule's blood curse, though not all of it because Rulie doesn't like to think about it when he's on such a better adventure now. He particularly likes to use it when sparring with the others, to their consternation, and he's been able to beat everyone so far with it except Sky (still too fast and hard to track thoughts in battle) and Time (doesn't spar.)
Outside of the Chain, he uses it to pick up on animal and monster thoughts, to give them warning of an attack - though he notices that black blooded monsters have muffled thoughts, and the shape shifting shadow is mostly thinking about overwhelming hatred whenever he listens.
5- on Koholint, Legend couldn’t hear anyone else’s thoughts. he should have known, then, that that was because he was dreaming.

Pinion Wings
Hello darlings! Today's story was brought to you by Hel! Darling, thank you so much for your support!
Prompt: Higher Being Housemates
+++
Michael was, in a word, obnoxious.
He didn’t like the Cats, which Tracy had expected.
He didn’t like Nephilim, which was also reasonably expected.
He didn’t like his brothers, which was honestly pretty entertaining.
Rafael was clearly used to being the go-between for Michael and Gabriel, who spent most of the next hour trading barbed snipes with each other, both under threat of wing-numbing if either of them tried to escalate to real violence.
If they were in Heaven, Rafael had explained with a put-upon sigh, he would have allowed them to fight and get it out of their system. Here on the mortal plane however, a battle between two archangels could seriously damage the world. Even if the battle was just a tussle between brothers.
So the Archangel of Healing sat placidly between his brothers, one hand on Michael’s shoulder, the other on Gabriel’s elbow, and smiled while his tea went cold so everyone could have a talk without a fight breaking out.
“Nephilim are a balance,” Gabriel was saying to Rabbi Herschel, who had managed to recover enough to have a reasonable discussion. In some unspoken agreement, Imam Abdul was talking with Michael about Holy weapons and ways to manage demons in the decidedly more lethal ways. Tracy didn’t really approve of that part, but she did probably have some demon fights in her future, so she listened anyway. “The line that only humans can walk between Heaven and Hell. Between good and evil, although those concepts are rather more broad than truly applies here.”
“Wait, I thought the Great War was over good and evil?” Tracy asked, a frankly shameful student of theology, considering her life. She had read the bible, made Blake and Angelika explain it, and watched their heated arguments over the whole business. Given the disagreement between an actual angel and demon about the text, Tracy figured it had some issues. The rest of the religious texts were no better, unfortunately. “You tried to explain it, but I wasn’t really listening.”
“I’m not surprised,” Gabriel said dryly, and sighed. “It’s often the way with Nephilim. Something about you often seems to reject the greater principles of the whole affair.”
“Whole affair, he calls the war that nearly destroyed Heaven, and created Hell,” Michael muttered, apparently offended enough to interject. He had, begrudgingly, explained what he knew of Nephilim to Tracy and his brothers. Now Gabriel and Rafael were going over it all again, translated into small words for the stupid human. Tracy would have felt worse about it, but none of the three Holy Men seemed to be following the explanation terribly well, either. Tracy wondered if their faith made things easier, or harder to understand. “We lost millions of angels in that battle, to destruction or corruption. The Fallen, you demons call them, but they were our family, once, before they betrayed for the Betrayer.”
Michael also did not like discussing Samael. Tracy hadn’t brought it up after he threatened to stab Gabriel for it, even if she was pretty sure that Rafael’s Disappointed Face was just as bad as Angelika’s, and that Michael probably wouldn’t risk it just to shut up a human. She would ask later, when the Angel of Smiting was no longer in he room.
“We don’t meet them for the most part,” Blake contributed. Angelika was seated just beside him until their wing-feathers mingled together, and they became a shared lap for no less than six of the Cats. They, of course, were keeping very quiet except to hiss at Michael whenever he moved too quickly. “The Fallen. They stay in their citadels. Risen aren’t welcome there. The only time we see them is when they’ve decided to make a move on each other, or if we get powerful enough to be interesting. It’s how I ended up working for Belial.”
“Perhaps that is why you have more flexibility of being,” Rafael mused. He leaned over and caught the tip of Blake’s wing before the demon could stop him, and pulled it out to full extension. “Stop struggling, young one. If I meant to harm you, I certainly would have by now. I want to see your wings.”
“I don’t want you to see my wings,” Blake muttered rebelliously, but gave in when Tracy caught his eye. He might be defiant, but he wasn’t going to refuse a direct order here in front of all the angels. It was too important that they remain a united front. He mantled his wings and huffed a very bird-y, put-upon hiss. “Fine. Go ahead. Poke and prod. Yank them out if you want. They just grow back.”
“I’m not going to pinion you,” Rafael said, entirely offended by the very suggestion. Gabriel winced and even Michael looked uncomfortable at the suggestion. There was some history there, but Tracy wasn’t about to ask about it now. “Even if I wasn’t a healer, I would not do such a thing.”
Blake ducked his head, appropriately chastened, but he still let Angelika take his hand reassuringly. She had been their Lady Redemption before she was Lady Redemption, and her wings had changed too. They were united in their shared strangeness.
“I told him they were like mine,” Gabriel contributed with a gesture at one shoulder where his wings would have been if he had them out. He didn’t, of course. Six people with wings in one small kitchen was at least four too many, and both Angelika and Blake had theirs out already. Michael, of course, had put his away after Rafael numbed them, and Gabriel didn’t have his wings out unless he was making a statement or using them to fly. “Changed by the behaviors that altered the core of his being.”
“You’re not entirely wrong,” Rafael said. The tip of the feather he held between his fingers silvered, and he raised a brow. “Ordinarily, I would agree, but…”
He held the feather, still attached to Blake’s wing, up for his brothers to see.
“This effect is more visible on the Cats,” he said, voice in the practiced cadence of a teacher. “They bleach out when exposed to Holy influences, with no sign of discomfort. Blake, can you feel this?”
“It’s like static,” Blake reported and tugged on his wing. Raphael obligingly let him go and the feather faded back to black as Blake finger-groomed it. “Not bad static, but not great. What is it?”
“Choice,” Michael said quietly, his eyes on the place where Rafael’s fingers bleached Blake’s feather. “The most dangerous thing between Heaven and Hell. We fought a war over choice. Millions died, over choice. And now you and your very, very strange household have dredged open that ancient wound once more.”
“A bone that heals wrong must be rebroken,” Rafael said, and released both his brothers so he could take a sip of his cold tea. “Perhaps it is time that we examined that old wound and see if it has truly healed as it should.”

Genshin Impact Verse - Lunala
Tumblr media
Name - Lunala Age - Many millennia Residence - Sumeru, wandering occasionally Vision - Hydro Weapon - Crescent Pike (Polearm)
After escaping from the wrath of Ultra Necrozma, Solgaleo and Lunala ended up entering the world of Teyvat. There, they were found by the Archons of the Sun and Moon, the couple having seen them enter through a wormhole in the skies above.
Despite having passed, a mysterious force brought Lunala back. Whether it was the power of the gods, the energy of the Leylines snaking in the earth below, or something else entirely, she wasn’t sure. She awoke to a new world around her, and new faces.
Neither of them had a place to call home any longer, and Teyvat would be their new home. The god and goddess, that they would come to know as Sol and Selene, allowed them refuge with them. Lunala was still recovering from taking Ultra Necrozma’s attack head on, and Solgaleo wasn’t keen on leaving her side for more than a moment at a time.
It took some time before she was fully recovered, but the moment she was able to get up and move around more, she took the opportunity. The two of them spent a lot of time around the archons, telling them stories and tales of their home dimension. Selene took up Lunala as an apprentice of sorts, teaching her how to fight with weaponry found commonly in Teyvat. Monsters and bandits ran amok in the land still, despite the presence of the gods.
Lunala eventually became an emissary/diplomat of Selene, as well as a protector of sorts. She would attend diplomatic conferences and meetings in her stead when needed, or attend them at her side as a bodyguard. She did a lot of traveling between Fontaine and Inazuma as well, Selene not wishing to be apart from her beloved Sol for longer than necessary.
Lunala and Selene grew very close to one another, Lunala considering her to be a best friend. She could come to Selene with any problem, or any request, and the goddess of the moon did her best to fulfill it. Lunala was one of the first people that learned that she and Sol were trying to have children of their own, news that overjoyed her.
Truly quiet, and peaceful lives, up until the Archon War broke out across Teyvat. It was bloody, and it was ruthless. Lunala witnessed countless archon from both Fontaine and Inazuma lose their lives, cut down or sealed away for eternity. In the chaos, Selene immediately left for Inazuma, desperately worried about her husband’s safety and wellbeing. Lunala stay put in Fontaine, using her power to confirm Solgaleo was safe.
She made as many preparations as she could for when Selene returned, helping people escape the wrath of the gods, and preparing food and shelter for everyone she could. What felt like weeks passed before Selene returned, with Solgaleo also. By the way they had looked, especially the haunted expression Selene wore even still, Lunala could only assume what had happened. Sol had been killed.
There was no time to truly mourn as one should for such a loss. Lunala tried her best to keep tabs on Selene even more, not wishing for the same fate to befall her. As desperately as Lunala had tried, she couldn’t dissuade Selene from leaving in order to help more people of Fontaine. She accompanied Selene each and every time, except for one day, when she slept for a bit too long after a long night.
It would be the day Selene, too, would lose her life. Perhaps it was planned, the other Fontainian Archons not wanting to pounce with Lunala there, or it may have just been bad luck. Either way, when Lunala awoke in a panic and rushed to find Selene, she was too late. The goddess of the moon had been killed, the stars that twinkled in her eyes all but gone, similar to Lunala’s wings dimming when she had died. No matter how much she begged and pleaded, Selene wasn’t coming back. The same forces in this world that had given Lunala a second chance weren’t giving Selene the same courtesy.
She and Solgaleo both mourned over the losses, an anguish and pain that cut deep. The two people to extend a hand to them and offer them an opportunity in Teyvat to thrive had been killed.
It wasn’t long after before the war came to a close, with the Seven now decided. The remaining Archons truly pitied the two of them, and from that pity, Lunala received a Hydro vision from Fontaine’s Hydro Archon - a friend of Selene’s previously. Lunala also had saved Selene’s polearm, but she couldn’t bear to use it.
With the two of them having visions now, and nothing left beyond one another, they decided to travel across Teyvat. Thousands of years passed, and in their travels they had bear witness to many beautiful, and horrible things. The fall of Khaenri’ah is something Lunala still can’t stomach even thinking about. As horrible as she felt for thinking in such a way, she was glad Selene and Sol weren’t alive to witness it.
In current time, they’ve settled down in Sumeru for the most part, Lunala enjoying the lush forests and plant life the region has to offer. They’ll also still travel across Teyvat from time to time as well. Strangely enough, Lunala has seen a pair of travelers from time to time, ones that feel... oddly familiar, like old friends, but surely it means nothing.

One Kiss
1097 words, not explicit
The second wizarding war ended four months ago. Normally four months wouldn’t seem that long, but to Hogwarts students that was too long of a wait. Especially the eighth years. Eighth year is something new to the wizarding world. It was created to give all the seventh years a chance to go back to school and finally do their newts and get on with their life. However not everyone joined. As students filled the platform, things weren’t as loud and cheery as the years before. The platforms was quiet and filled with quick goodbyes, nobody wanted to break the silence. But then Harry Potter walked in. Next thing you knew there were reporters everywhere asking questions left and right, taking photos every second. Everyone seemed excited to see the Savior, except a select few. One of those being Draco Malfoy.
You could say Draco Malfoy had or has sorry, an obsession with Harry Potter. Though he would deny that t’il his dying breath. It started off small, but as the years passed by it grew to the point where he’d call it love. Draco Malfoy loved Harry Potter, of course he’d never tell anyone this. Some would think that’s it’s romantic and cute, an enemies to lovers kind of thing. But Draco hated himself for it. He hated his feelings. He hated that he loved Harry Potter. Because of that Draco couldn’t stand him. Every time the crossed each other in the halls he would get into a small fight or argument trying to show himself that Harry would never love him back. He thought, that to Harry he was a mistake placed upon this earth capable of no good.
However one day when they were passed each other in the halls, Draco got bumped into Harry. Caught by surprise, Harry had no time to steady himself and they fell down. Draco was laying on top of Harry. He got up and put his hands on either side of Harry’s shoulders. As cheesy as it was they stayed in that deserted hallway on the floor staring into each others eyes. Draco was about to pull off when Harry made his move, and kissed him. Draco didn’t know what to think of it. His body was being flooded with pleasure from finally kissing Harry. If the fear of being caught didn’t over power his desire for Harry at the moment they probably would of stayed there longer. But when Draco heard a faint conversation slowly getting louder he got up and ran, fixing himself along the way to his common room. As he slowly came to a walk again, Draco thought about what just happened. He wanted to hate the amount of pleasure he got from that quick kiss. He wanted to hate Harry Potter for furthering his feelings for him. But he couldn’t. No matter how hard he tried it just wouldn’t work. Oh how Draco wished he didn’t have to pretend anymore. But he had an image to keep up. He was supposed to marry a pretty and influential girl, and an heir and maybe a second child. Then live the rest of his live enjoying his wealth and helping pass and fail laws. But Harry Potter just had to change things to go his way.
The kiss was on his mind for days. Not a second went by without Draco thinking about it. It was torture, he was zoning out during class, being late, getting snappy and losing points. At this point the whole of Hogwarts knew something was bothering him. Eyes followed Draco everywhere. Whispers could be heard before he entered a room and after he exited one. Everyone was concerned. Especially a certain Gryffindor. Harry spent his time during meals and in class staring at Draco. Wondering how a little kiss could affect the great Draco Malfoy.
Harry dreamt of kissing Draco since year six. Being the Gryffindor he is, Harry made it his mission to pursue Draco. He tried cornering after classes, but there was always someone with him. He waved when their eyes met, but Draco always looked away. It was starting to frustrate Harry. But then the hallway kiss happened. He never meant to kiss Draco, it was more of a now or never moment. But Harry was so glad he didn’t hesitate. The kiss made Harry feel like he could finally die happy. Nothing could stop the joy that came with that kiss. Not even seeing Voldemort in lingerie could pull Harry away. Of course what he didn’t account for is Draco running away. But judging by how he didn’t pull away, Harry could say that Draco was not adverse to kissing Harry. As days passed Draco became introverted. He didn’t even snip at Harry in the hallways when they passed by each other. Draco’s behaviour was strange, weird and starting to get old. Seeing that Draco wasn’t going to revert back to his usual self any time soon Harry decided to take matters into his own hands.
It was Hogsmeade weekend when Harry decided that he was ready. He took his invisiblity cloak and map out of his trunk and headed outide. He said goodbye to Ron and Hermione at the gate, as they were going on a date. When they were a good distance away Harry unravelled the map and searched for Draco. He found Draco's dot standing still and alone by the shrieking shack. He decided that for his plan to work he would need the element of suprise. When Harry got to the shack, he quickly opened the door and shoved Draco inside. To keep any unwelcomed company Harry got inside, locked the door, and made stopped sound from entering and exiting the room.
Harry then turned to Draco and said hello. Draco looked livid. Harry saw that Draco was about to hex him and decided that he needed to skip a few steps in the plan. Before Draco could raise his arm Harry yelled something that made Draco feel like his heart skipped a beat. Harry said "I love you". It seemed as time slowed down, Harry was slowly breathing while Draco was frozen and stuck to one spot. The only thing they could hear was Harry's short breaths. After a few moments passed Draco jumped Harry and drew him into a passionate kiss, unlike their one in the hallway. When they pulled away for air Draco whispered something that Harry wouldn't of been able to of heard if it wasn't so silent. "I guess I won't be telling my father about this one Potter."
