we're not brave, we're not soldiers - chapter 6
learn to live again
Percy ran in a full out sprint, savoring the blood pumping vigorously in his ears and cool night-time air on his face. It was just after 2 am, but luckily the harpies were well aware of his insomniatic habits and now just left him alone. His nighttime runs seemed to be the only thing that exhausted him enough to possibly sleep after a nightmare.
Almost every part of camp was dark and deserted, save for one light in the infirmary’s on-call room. Percy rolled his eyes fondly before making his way toward the window and smashing his face against it to see inside.
Percy made funny faces for nearly five minutes before Will looked up from the large textbook he was hunched over and let out a loud squeal of alarm. Percy was breathless with laughter by the time Will opened the window.
“The hell are you doing?” Percy could tell that the boy was trying to sound stern but the smile pulling at his lips gave him away.
“Man, I hope you scold your siblings better than that!”
“Did you come up here at the asscrack of night just to make fun of me?” Will said in a huff, moving out of the way as Percy climbed through his window, nearly landing on his head.
“Nah, I was out running and saw you were up too. Whatcha reading?”
“It’s the DSM 5 - unfortunately they haven’t translated it into Greek yet so it’s pretty slow going. I was honestly hoping it’d put me to sleep.”
“Does it usually?”
“No, but neither does pacing the Apollo cabin.” Percy gave a sympathetic hum.
“Yeah, running doesn’t help me much either, not anymore at least. Isn’t there a medicine that’s supposed to help with that?”
“Yeah, but it just makes my nightmares more vivid and keeps me in them longer. I was hoping that I might find some ideas in these textbooks, but so far no luck.”
The boys sat in companionable, drowsy silence for a while before an idea popped into Percy’s sluggish, sleep deprived brain.
“How would you feel about a late night swim?”
After nearly 20 minutes of convincing, Will finally submitted. When they got to the lake and waded in, Will was surprised to find that his feet didn’t feel wet.. He turned to Percy, who was wearing a self-satisfied grin.
“If you float on your back, it’s basically like one of those fancy sensory deprivation tanks. It’s really soothing, sometimes I fall asleep out here.”
“Why don’t you just sleep out here then?”
“Well the one time I slept out here all night Annabeth tore the camp apart looking for me, so I figure it’s not a good long term solution. It is a good way to calm down so I can sleep though.”
Will treaded water for a few minutes, trying to adjust to the odd feeling of being in the water without getting wet. It almost felt like a light hug with occasional waves. Eventually he took a deep breath before laying back and floating.
“Woah,” Will gasped. It was as though the world had been muffled. Slowly, he relaxed muscles he didn’t even know were tense, his body aching in relief.
Percy grinned, a warm wave of fondness washing over him as he watched the other boy drift. He knew that Will would start to nod off soon so he just treaded water lazily, enjoying the lull of the lake until the younger boy’s breathing was slow and shallow.
“Will?”
He only got a quiet groan in response so he sent a small wave toward his face, making sure he could breathe through it. It felt like someone lightly running their hand across his forehead. Will opened his eyes, blearily looking up at the stars.
The boy’s made their way back to camp, bodies heavy with exhaustion. Will started to make his way back to the infirmary before Percy stopped him and asked if he had been sleeping there too.
“I just don’t want to wake the kids up. I’m usually up and down all night so it’s just better.”
“Well so am I. C’mon,”
And with that, both boys fell asleep just inside the door to the Poseidon cabin, not even making it to Percy’s bed. After that night, Percy kept a cot just for Will in his cabin. Embarrassed, the younger boy tried to sleep in his own cabin when he could, but more nights than not, he ended up at Percy’s. Some nights they would lean into their insomnia, playing board games and goofing off. Some nights they’d go for a long, strenuous run before desperately listening to white noise, begging to fall asleep. They even tried some meditation exercises that Will found in a book about natural medicine. They’d never know if it would work though because Percy couldn’t stop giggling whenever they tried it.
Either way, it was nice to not be alone during those never ending nights.
Though the two didn’t hang out often in the light of day, they tended to playfully orbit each other. Percy was always sneaking in to blow the horn obnoxiously during the Apollo cabin’s music lessons and Will enjoyed startling Percy during arts and crafts, often resulting in a huge mess. One time, when Percy was really engrossed in making a crude painting of the lake, Will startled him so badly that he flung his paint brush, which resulted in a large blue streak on Annabeth’s white t-shirt. The boys would never live that down.
Life was finally finally beginning to be good again. But by the end of the summer, Percy was missing and Camp Halfblood was thrown into chaos yet again.

So, I saw your twst isekai idea post, and had IDEAS!
so I'm not super familiar with most of those series/fandoms, BUT...
What came to mind for me was Stardew Valley (since it's been on my mind recently). I don't know how familiar you are with the game, but I think that if he was isekai'd there, Jade would THRIVE as a farmer! I mean, he's got a green thumb and knows about plants. There's a mountain (with a mine), plenty of local flora to forage, and a possibility for a MUSHROOM CAVE on the farm. He'd LOVE IT!! Plus, the people in town are incredibly interesting - he'd never get bored there. And he's sketchy clever and resourceful enough to know how to get what he wants. His family are suggested to also be 'businesspeople', after all :)
Epel would also do just fine there, obviously. He already comes from a farming family, so I imagine he'd do a good job setting up an orchard in Stardew Valley.
On the other hand, I think that Idia would STRUGGLE in that situation. He's very clever, but NOT GOOD with new people, or much manual labour. And unless he already knew about gardening/farming/foraging/fishing/etc. from a game or series, he'd probably be totally lost on how to manage. (It would probably be pretty funny for us, but very stressful for him.)
(I put a buncha stuff under a 'read more' because I wrote. Many words lol)
I LOVE STARDEW VALLEY I'VE BEEN PLAYING IT ON MY SWITCH AND HAVING SO MUCH FUN OBLITHERATING PIERRE IN THE STARDEW VALLEY FAIR (I care about this a normal amount)
AND YESS FARMER JADE!!! OMG HE WOULD PROBABLY MAKE THE MUSHROOM CAVE HIMSELF BEFORE DEMETRIUS EVEN THINKS ABOUT SUGGESTING IT TO HIM!
Just,,, Demetrius showing up at Jade's house and being all 'hello I could set up a mushroom cave for you if you want' and Jade showing off his already thriving mushroom colonies completely filling the space lmao. I wonder if they'd be mycology buddies with how Demetrius is a biologist (iirc)
He'd love to forage in the surrounding areas and hike around the forests - and fishing! I remember him being super passionate about everything in the Camp Vargas stories he was in and I just love how he can get so happy when he's able to indulge in his interests.
(I wonder if he would mess with some of the villagers by swimming in the ocean in his merform... I may end up shipping him with Elliott if I think about that too much - typical bachelor on the beach falls for the mysterious merperson in the ocean typa story idk my brain is running away from me haha)
----
EPEL WITH AN ORCHARD YES!
He would be in his element! I can imagine him with expertise from what his family taught him on his farm - how to selectively breed plants to make the best produce, how to graft two parts of heirloom species of plants together to get the best traits from both (like the roots from a tomato plant bred to resist root diseases and the stem from a plant that produces large, delicious fruits! I've seen a video about it and it was really cool lol)
And he has the type of face and vibe that I feel like would make older ladies fawn over him a little if that makes sense? Like Marnie, Caroline, and Jodi - their group. Like, he's polite because of his time with Vil, he's quite short and has a boyish face, he's hardworking etc. I can see him receiving cookies from Evelyn and stuff like that.
----
AND LMAO IDIA SUFFERING HAHA
I'd say that he'd get along with Sebastian but I doubt that they'd end up meeting with how neither of them really go outside (I know from waiting outside Sebastian's door before I thought to look up his schedule online haha)
Idia's internal dialogue would probably be an absolute disaster haha - he is NOT built for this environment! There's too much focus on socialisation! And his noodly gamer arms cannot do farming! He would be having a Bad Time and it would definitely be funny to watch it pan out haha
At least there's a chance that he could have some meta knowledge due to the fact that he's a gamer. Maybe it'll be exactly like some sorta game from Twisted Wonderland called 'SunMist Hollow' (I just searched synonyms for that haha)

I have a really bad migraine right now but thankfully I am home. So I can just be a lump in bed and rest in the AC. I am really happy to be home right now.
And it wasn't a bad day. It was just really warm. I was just covered in a light layer of sweat all day. I drank a lot of water but I still really felt dehydrated. Which is probably why I have the migraine now. It started in the afternoon. But for most of the day I was fine.
I had trouble falling asleep last night. I don't think I fell asleep until 1:30. And it wasn't a bad sleep. I woke up at 6:00 and was a little unhappy about that but I felt okay. And then I blinked and it was 8:00. I have no idea how quickly I fell asleep.
It took me a while to get up and get myself together. But that was fine. I knew I wanted to wear my Hawaiian pants today. For Hawaiian shirt Wednesday. And I had my biscuit but I had a bad taste in my mouth and it didn't really like the jelly that I had. It was like mixed fruit and I did not enjoy that. But it was fine.
Tatiana came again today and it turns out she did not have the loom. So I have no idea where the 12th one went. She looked at me like what and tried to look around same way I did and neither of us can find it So I'm just assuming a child took it. And it's gone. Which sucks but I ended up just continuing using the cardboard looms today and the kids really liked it and so honestly in the end it worked out.
We had two groups this morning and they did a good job. We had top bar and then pioneers. We finished girl week and we start boy week. And the boys were good. Everyone seemed to try pretty hard for the most part. And I enjoyed everyone's company. It was a good day.
And lunch was an actual meal. I did not get the vegetarian option because it was just the same sad sandwich from yesterday. So I had a very good salad because they finally had hard boiled eggs. And I had that and pasta salad and tater tots and we finally finished the special week ketchup. So I texted James because I knew they were going to get groceries. And they would get us a new bottle.
My afternoon groups were again very early for some reason. And I decided to make a sign for the door because they were 15 minutes early and just came through the building to the back and they were like we're here and I was like no no go do something else. But then it turned out that they weren't even the right day camp group and weren't even supposed to be there! My actual day camp group came on time. Cuz then all of a sudden both of them were there and I was like what is happening. And they're counselor came and took them away because it was their CIT that had misread the schedule I guess. But the day campers did really good and it was fun and then we had a little break to reset and Ty came over so I could help him finish his loom knit hat.
Which actually looked really good! It's a little small for how big his hair is but I was really proud of him. We're going to work on sewing next week so we'll see how that goes. And we both have tried to talk about how we're going to try to stay positive and that our materials are coming and things are good. We're going to try our best to be positive. Things will get better.
I had stockade next and they were very good. The curse too much but they're very funny. And they were very sweet. I got to do a lot of sewing and talking to them about stuff and teaching them bracelets. And I enjoyed chatting with Quan and I showed him the camp TikTok I made last night. Which took me a while because I had to make sure I cropped as many kids out as possible but there's one clip where the kids are in the background so I'm hoping those are okay. I'm going to try my best to make sure my angles are better next time. But Quan gave me a cookie and my headache was right behind my eyeballs but I was still having a nice time.
My last day camp group was fun and I had double-checked that horses was not coming this week so I could go home right after my last group. I got their blooms all finished up and showed them how to tie things off and they helped clean up and then they headed out.
I went to the office to let them know I was leaving and to sign out in our little book and I also wanted to just let them know how great Tatiana is doing and how helpful she is and Heather told me that Tatiana was considering taking some AP classes this summer but instead she decided she's going to stay with me and I just think that is so sweet. So even if she is taking away from my sitting in the dark time I really do appreciate her and her tapestry that she worked on today is so good! She put four of the nail looms together to make it and she really is taking to it and I love that so much. I love when people find art that they really enjoy. She's talking about making blankets and stuff too. So proud of her.
After I talk to Heather and Alexi about the art building flooding for a little while longer I let them know I was going to go home. And that my head hurt and I just needed to be in my house for a while and they understood and I said goodbye.
I did get stuck behind that can't bus for a couple minutes but I got out of there and got on the highway. There wasn't really any traffic. I let James know I was coming home and they were going to order pizza for us and they did but then they canceled because the place had no delivery driver so James had to reorder and then walked to the place. I wish I would have caught that text because I just would have went gotten them.
But once I got home I took a shower and that helped me feel a lot better. I still had the headache but it wasn't quite as uncomfortable.
I open the mail and I had a little gift that I had gotten for James come and romper that I ordered. And soon James was home with pizza and I ate that in bed and now James is recording their podcast and being sweetp are laying in the air conditioning.
Sweetp is looking at me with so much love in his eyes and it's so cute. He misses me so much I think! And I hate that he seems so sad about it but he loves me so much when I come home and that is so nice. Even if he is stinky I still am glad that he is next to me.
I'm riding my post early because my head hurts so much and I don't want it to get worse So I'm going to try to get off my phone for a while. I hope you guys all have a great night and I hope tomorrow is fun and not a sweaty. Good night everybody. Have fun out there.

@breakthings said (jason → vaas)... "WHO ARE YOU? THE DEVIL?"
Tumblr media
❝ WHO IS THE DEVIL? ❞ Laughter cut through the night, unable to comprehend what was asked. A trail of content humming followed as his attention never wavered from the table before him. They were alone now, finally, tucked away in the belly of a secluded camp with only the occasional sound of wildlife and the muffled stirring of guards beyond the makeshift walls of sheets and corrugated scrap metal. Jason lay behind him on the dirt floor, wrists tied behind his back and unable to see the surprise waiting for him. And it stirred something within Vaas, the ability to be in such an intimate setting with his victim, his plaything, his sacrifice. ❝ You're funny. That's very funny, Jason. Very funny. Anybody ever tell you you should get into comedy, hermano? No? ❞ The question reeked of sarcasm and hung heavy in the air, adding weight to the sweltering humidity of the jungle. God and the Devil, who were they? As a child, he remembered stories of great deities who controlled every little detail of the world, and he remembered the divide with the other Rakyats who followed a tiny, black book that demanded one must beg for absolution lest ye be left behind whence the End of Days arrived. It was all bullshit. All these gods and all these devils, they had no place in his life. There was no good and there was no evil. Despite his penchant for repeating the word ❛ insanity ❜ over and over and over again, he truly believed that's all there was: the sane and the insane, and what one inevitably chose to put forth into the world with the power of where they fell within that spectrum. And where did he fall? Did he want to know? Stimulants prevented him from thinking too deeply, white lines guiding him to a wonderland filled with absolutely nothing, and that was how he liked it. But the drugs had worn off long ago and there was no time for a perk up. There was still work to be done, especially in the form of punishment for those who'd stepped out of line, for those who dared to trespass into his violent paradise. He simply had to deal with the extra company of his most intimate thoughts, unable to keep them at bay until he was finished. ❝ Is that what you think my true form is? ❞ Was that for Jason to answer? Or for himself?
Voice had lilted, slow and thick in concentration instead of his typical high-speed, cocaine-induced rambling and yelling. His attention still poured onto the tabletop, making precise cuts. The gentle thunk! of a blade on wood, followed by a drag of steel through tender flesh, filled the silence that neither wanted to fill just yet. But as Vaas continued prepping ❛ dinner ❜ for his ❛ dogs, ❜ he couldn't help but feel insulted, albeit just slightly. This, right here, was proof enough he was kind, even to those who didn't deserve it. Wasn't it? ❝ Your Devil, is that who I am to you? Your white fucking devil—who, really, Jason, was not that bad of a guy, y'know? Sure, sure, sure, he went against the grain, didn't wanna listen to daddy anymore, but at the end of the day, who betrayed who? Huh? Who? The rebellious son or the father who threw him to the fucking pits of Hell? That was a little too fucking harsh. Don't you agree, Jason? Is that how you see me? ❞ The blade stuck momentarily in something solid. ❝ No, you've made up your mind. I don't wanna hear it. Why should I answer to you, eh? Tell me why. Why should I play your little games? ❛ Vaas! Vaas! You're the devil, Vaas! ❜ FUCK YOU! No matter what I say, it won't change what you think. ❞ Everything went quiet once again. One hand pinned down what lay out on the table before pressing the rest of his weight onto the knife, grinding and grinding down, down, down. This was the most important part of Jason's extended visit to the islands so far. It was a gift! One that said ❛ Welcome, and remember you must die! ❜ How was he the Devil when he held such kindness in his heart? As the question tumbled around, steel found wood again, coming to a halt. Tension had corded tight like razor wire around his bones, yet with the completion of this final job, he could finally release the breath he'd been holding and all the stress that had come with it. ❝ You're still doubting me, yes? I mean, you can see my hands and feet for yourself, hermano… ❞ At that, Vaas finally turned to face his captive, hands casually placed upon the table as he leaned back a moment for Jason to get a good look, to see he'd not sprouted claws, nor cloven hooves. A smile crawled upward, yet it never truly reached his eyes, saurian and cruel in the glow of the firelight. A miasma of fear and dread spread throughout the chamber, emanating from the prey on the floor, the pathetic Californian boy who traipsed onto his land. His home. And as hypocritical as it was, he hated Jason for the murder he'd wrought upon his men. No life was more humble or inferior to another, because although many are able to snatch life away, none can give it back. No amount of self-righteous ❛ revenge ❜ would bring Jason's brother back into this world. But there was something Vaas could do, the bringer of death that he was. Reaching behind himself, he lifted the final cut off the table. The vessel of life, all thoughts and feelings collected there. And as Vaas knelt down, he placed the treasure on the floor, just out of Jason's reach. Carefully, he opened the gateways to the soul, as they say. The eyes. Matted in dirt and blood, Grant's head sat, staring into the void, and from the void, Jason stared back. Turning back to the table, Vaas began separating the ❛ rations. ❜ His ❛ dogs ❜ still had to be fed, after all. With a silent laugh, he asked again, this time to himself. ❝ WHO IS THE DEVIL? ❞

Thoughts for Owl House upcoming season...
Heh this is more of rewriting what I want to see or hope Dana Terrace was able to get in. I’m not gonna throw a lot of shade because Disney cancelled this and its something I will be FOREVER pissed at. And I can’t even enjoy moments when Disney+ fans point out “Oh look Disney’s being progressive”. (still reminded they cancelled a good LGBTQ show) Sorry off track point is I know she was given limits so not gonna  get too disappointed if she couldn’t get all she wanted in for this...
What do I want from this season...
.....for these kids to be OKAY. I know that will be hard considering EVERYTHING. But I hope they will heal and I hope all especially Luz will get help for their obvious trauma.
More Lumity.... but I think from the trailer thats obvious.
More family moments with Camila
Vee becoming part of the group
I’d like to see Vee’s friends she made at camp used more. If its able/allowed. As I said I know Dana Terrace was given some limits here. But it felt last season those kids or at least the one with the cards would be of help. I almost feel its the group Luz would had if she had given camp a try.
For King and the others to be okay. However the group gets back, I am hoping King and the demon world was able to survive the Collector.
To know more about Titans? How was King born... how’s he gonna grow to massive size?oO
I would say I want the Collector defeated.. but I’ll be honest I haven’t seen enough to say “oh god I hate this guy”... I feel like this is their “discord”. He’s neither good nor completely evil. He’s a literal god with no boundaries. I would like to say I hope while the kids are seeing the human world, King was able to get the Collector to learn humanity/empathy whatever... but that feels too easy
A collector origin or whatever would be interesting but I dunno if Terrace had a lot of time to get that in.
To know if the Collector can remove Eda/Lilith’s curse. Feels like last season that the Collector is the reason the curse existed but not sure... I admit since it feels the Collector is almost godlike I’m curious to know if he as knowledge to remove the sigils and the damage done by Belos.
For Hunter to survive this season... I still feel Belos is alive.. ..I just dunno if he’s at the cabin they left or if he’s “possessing” or trying to possess Hunter. Though I really hope not the kid’s been through enough BD;.
Anything else... will the kids have human threats? I know that nerdy guy might be a problem but him aside I dunno how much a problem or if others might be around. I mean who’s to say Wittebanes didn’t have other descendants or someone from their witch hunting group thats still around... just quiet about their birth right knowledge...
I would say I’m curious about Caleb, his friend’s status but I’ll be honest I feel we got hints in Phillip’s mind and it might be answered eventually.
Hunter/Willow to be a couple :3. Sorry not sorry I think they’re adorable, I think they balance each other well. Though saying that and knowing the obvious hints that got Caleb Wittlebane killed... IF Belos is alive and will be a threat... a part of me wonders..... would he try to hurt Willow if he saw them as a couple? I mean yeah its obviously hinted he killed his own brother. And he sees Hunter as replaceable. But I saw the look when he realized that Hunter had gotten that staff(I wouldn’t be shocked if it was Caleb or one of the previous guards’ staff)..... He flew in a rage... how’s he gonna feel when he sees Hunter growing closer to Willow. Them act a couple... reminding him of how his brother grew closer to the things they were taught to hate....
I think thats about it... I can’t think of anything I want or expect. Wish the Blight twins could be with their sister to see the human world. Well and Hooty/and King But I figure that won’t happen. Also would had liked a Gravity Falls crossover, haha would had been soooo funny to have an awkward Eda/ Grunkle Stan interaction but thats definitely not gonna happenXD.

NSFW Alphabet - Maheegun
age in bio when interacting. minors do not interact.
Word Count: 639 / Read it on AO3 | Offline Version
Tumblr media
A = Aftercare (what they’re like after sex)
He'll lie down next to you. If you need something, just let him know.
B = Body Part (their favorite body part of theirs and also their partner’s)
His chest and your legs.
C = Cum (anything to do with cum, basically)
A clear color and a slightly salty taste.
D = Dirty Secret (pretty self-explanatory, a dirty secret of theirs)
He enjoys watching you work around the camp and sometimes he may suddenly disappear to his shelter.
E = Experience (how experienced are they? do they know what they’re doing?)
He has no experience and follows along with what he thinks it should go. He will gladly follow along with what you say.
F = Favorite Position (this goes without saying)
Missionary, he likes seeing your face. He isn't really into any other position but would try them.
G = Goofy (are they more serious in the moment? are they humorous? etc.)
He's not making jokes or doing things to be funny, but he's not serious either.
H = Hair (how well groomed are they? does the carpet match the drapes? etc.)
He doesn't trim and never once considered it. It's black like his hair. He also has chest hair and a line of hair going down his stomach.
I = Intimacy (how are they during the moment? the romantic aspect)
He tries his best to be romantic. He's a pretty straightforward person. He'll take your advice though and just when you think he's forgotten, he'll surprise you.
J = Jack Off (masturbation headcanon)
He doesn't do it very often, maybe once or twice a moon.
K = Kink (one or more of their kinks)
Breeding and playing with his hair.
L = Location (favorite places to do it)
The shelter you share with him. He doesn't want other people to see what the both of you are doing.
M = Motivation (what turns them on, gets them going)
When you're alone together and you make suggestive remarks towards him.
N = No (something they wouldn’t do, turn-offs)
A threesome and anything that hurts you both.
O = Oral (preference in giving or receiving, skill, etc.)
He prefers both but would love to receive the most. He's not very skilled.
P = Pace (are they fast and rough? slow and sensual? etc.)
Slow and hard, he likes taking his time with you.
Q = Quickie (their opinions on quickies, how often, etc.)
As long as neither of you are busy, he wouldn't mind a quickie.
R = Risk (are they game to experiment? do they take risks? etc.)
Experiments - it depends. Risks - probably not.
S = Stamina (how many rounds can they go for? how long do they last?)
2-3 for about 30 minutes.
T = Toys (do they own toys? do they use them? on a partner or themselves?)
None and it is unlikely such things existed during the Stone Age of Europe. In the modern day, it is possible.
U = Unfair (how much they like to tease)
He does enjoy teasing sometimes, but not very often.
V = Volume (how loud they are, what sounds they make, etc.)
At first, he's quiet, slightly embarrassed to be making noises, but when he is into it, he becomes louder with his moans and grunts.
W = Wild Card (a random headcanon for the character)
He has no children and is fine with staying that way. However, he also wouldn't have an issue with having as many children as you want. I do think that he (unknowingly) struggles with infertility and would prefer children to be made the natural way instead of seeking medical care to have them made.
X = X-Ray (let’s see what’s going on under those clothes)
7½, uncut, smooth with a slight right curve.
Y = Yearning (how high is their sex drive?)
Nothing too high.
Z = ZZZ (how quickly they fall asleep afterward)
He falls asleep roughly 30 minutes afterwards.

Adopted by whom?
Tumblr media
Warnings: lighty mentions of physical abuse
This was my third camp, I was really excited. Even though I knew these womens for only a year, they became like family to me, a few of them were even closer, like Mal and Rose, probably because we are closer to age, so we have a lot of fun together. Tobin and Christen are like moms for me, since the first day of camp they took me under their wings and were super protective, they were worried about my school work and if I ate well or if I drank enough water, even after camp they kept talking and asking how I am, and I talk about them so much that my moms got jealous, and said they are my team moms.
I told this to Tobin and Christen, they laughed at it and began to call me their daughter, so I started to call them mom. They wanted to meet my parents but that didn’t happen yet. Why? Because I didn’t tell them that I am adopted, or that I have two mothers, let alone that one of them is none other than Shannon MacMillan. I know I should but it is a sensitive topic for me and I'm scared that they will treat me differently after they find out about it. That’s why I haven't told anyone on the team about it yet, but I'm thinking about doing so after this camp.
“Kid!! I miss you so much” Tobin ran towards me and gave me a big hug. “Mom, we talked yesterday.” “I know, but I can't hug you on facetime.” “Okay, I miss you too.” “I don’t get a hug?” Christen asked and opened her arms for me to hug her, so I did. “Mama I miss you too.” “Hi sweetie. Excited for camp? How is school?” “The same, boring but my grades are good. And I can't wait for everyone to get here.”
“Siisss!!!” Rose and Mal scream as soon as they spot me in the looby and come running. “Rose!! Mal!! How are you guys?”. We jumped on each other and ended up in the ground on a group hug. “Hey, you weren’t as excited when you saw us. I feel betrayed.” Tobin complained pouting while watching our interaction. “Kids get up before you hurt each other.” Christen separated us and pulled us up. “Sorry mom, but I love you too.” I said to Tobin who still had a pout on her face, so I went and hugged her again.
The rest of the team were finally arriving in the lobby of the hotel, we were talking when Jill spoke up and designated our roommates for this camp, and I was with Tobin. We went up and went to our room. We had lunch soon so we chilled and talked for a bit in our room, until it was time for lunch. So here we are, everyone eating and having fun talking about everything.
On the table was Sonnett, Rose, Linds, Sam, Mal and myself. Sonnett was telling everyone a funny story about her family.
“I’m serious, we were at this party and I kept annoying this girl, who was a douchebag. I forgot about it and started to dance and have some fun, but then suddenly a boy cornered my sister and I heard the girl saying she was the girl who annoyed her and he was about to push her when the parents stepped in. Long story, but in short my sister ended up two days grounded because of that.” “You never told them the truth?” I asked her. “A few years later. They grounded me as well, that was not fun.” “I wish I could have a twin sister, so we could switch places all the time.” Rose commented. “I wish I could have a sister.” Mal complained.
“At least you have your parents all to yourself. You are the favorite.” Sam complained only to be mocked by Linds “Someone is grumpy because it’s not the favorite child.” “And you are?” “Of course.” “Alright, this is not what your brother says.” Sonnett interfered with a smirk. “But I'm for sure not the favorite, my parents don’t hide it.” “Me neither, I’m sure they love me but I have my doubts about who their favorite is. It’s probably Wilma, I don’t blame them.” Everyone laughed at Rose's statement.
Until Mal asked me a question. “What about you Y/n? I’m sure you are your parents favorite.” “Yeah, I don't know. My brother is 10 so... pretty tough competition.” “Wait! You have a brother?” Sonnett asked incredulously. “Yeah.” “Why have we never heard about it? We actually never heard much about your family Y/n.” One of them asked me. Shit, why do I have to open my mouth. “I don’t want to talk about it.” I tried to avoid their eyes so they would know that I didn’t want to talk about it. But Sonnett didn't get it. “Why not? Your parents can’t be that bad?” “Sonnett!! Shut up. Y/n/n, that’s okay, if you don’t want to tell us you don’t have to.” Lindsey said, trying to make me look at them. “But you know that you can tell us everything right?”
I didn’t want to talk about it, and if I stayed one more minute here I would cry, so I decided to leave for my room. “Yeah… I...I think I’m going back to my room. Bye.” “Y/n. Wait! We are not talking about it again. Come back.” Rose tried to stop me, but I stood up so fast that I didn’t even register my surroundings. So as soon as I turned around, I bumped into Ashlyn and her juice spread all over my shirt. Fuck! Ash began to apologise, but now I could feel everyone's eyes on me and all I wanted was to get out of here. “Sorry Speedy, you turn so fast. I…” “That’s okay.” I interrupted her, got free of her hands and walked as fast as I could out of the dinner room.
No one's pov
Meanwhile at the youngies table.
“That was odd.” Sam broke the silence. “I didn’t do it on purpose.” “We know Sonnett. Should we follow her? Or talk to Tobin?” Lindsey asked, trying to comfort Sonnett who was blaming herself for her teammate's outburst.
“Too late for that. Tobin is already coming on her momma bear mode. I’m always scared when she is like this.” Mal spoke looking at Tobin with wide eyes.
“Girls, what happened to Y/n? Why did she get out?” The girls looked at each other until Rose decided to answer Tobin’s question. “We don’t know exactly. We were talking about our families and when we asked about hers she got weird and said she would go to her room.” Tobin sighed and nodded. “Thanks, I will go check on her.”
Tobin pov
I knocked on the door and opened it, when I entered the room I saw Y/n laying on the bed looking at the ceiling.
“Hey, kid. What’s going on?” “Not now Tobin, I just want to be alone for a minute. I’m fine.” “Yeah, you’re not.” Y/n shakes her head and asks. “And how do you know that?” “For starters, you get out of the dinner earlier than usual and without saying goodbye. Then you call me Tobin, you never do that only when you’re not okay.”
With that Y/n sighed and sat on the bed. “It’s just a hard topic for me.” “Your family?” I asked, trying to understand, she just nodded her head.
We stayed in bed for a minute. I waited to see if she was giving me anything else, but that didn’t happen. “Fine, if you don’t want to talk about it, I get it. But let's at least take this shirt off.”
I helped her get up to take the dirty shirt off, but then I looked at her back and saw some scars on it. I was about to take a better look but she quickly pulled back down, trying to hide it. But it was too late, I had already seen it.
“Y/n, what are those marks on your back?” “Are from soccer.” She told me, not looking at me. “I’m not buying it. Tell me the truth.” “It’s nothing Tobin. Give up on this.” “Nope. Right there, you call me Tobin again. Come on kid, you know I won’t give up so soon. So buy us some time and tell me what’s going on.” “It’s hard, Tobs.” “And I’m here by your side, you can tell me everything. But I can’t help you if you don’t tell me what’s going on.” “Everything is fine now, it’s already in the past. But I'm still learning to trust people, so I normally don’t talk about it with others. I want to, but when I do I cry and I don't want to cry in front of the team.” “Kid, we will never judge you for crying.” “I know but I never had this, not until three years ago. So it is hard to let people in.” “What do you mean? You wanna tell me about it? “
She hesitated for a minute but nodded. She was about to say something when my phone rang. I looked at it and turned off the call, it was Christen but I couldn’t talk right now.
“It’s okay if you need to go. I’ll be fine.” Y/n told me in a low voice. “I’m here for you kid, you can trust me, after all i’m your mom isn’t I?” “Yeah. You are. It’s not actually complicated. It’s just that, my dad abandoned my family when I was 7, a month later my mom found out she was pregnant. Things were already tough, but my mom did everything she could for us to be happy, but a year later she died in a car crash.”
Tears began to fall from her face, so I put my hand on her back trying to comfort her.
“I’m sorry for that Y/n/n. You don’t need to keep going if you don’t want to.” “I want to tell you everything.” After a minute she stopped sobbing and spoke again. “Well, after that my father didn’t want us so we ended up in foster care and that’s why I don’t like to talk about my family. Is not because I don't trust you, but is because for most part of my life I didn't quite have one. I have just a few memories from my biological mother and I had to take care of my little brother during seven years of my life. Is not simple to talk about it. I was abused from the age of 8 until I turned 14 years old. That's where my marks are from, they hit on me just because they wanted to.”
I hugged her, but didn’t say a thing, I knew that’s what she needed right now. After a few minutes I spoke up. “Kid, I had no idea that you passed through this all. But I want to tell you that this doesn't change our relationship, I still love you and will fight everyone who messes with you, and you know Christen will as well.” “Thank you Tobs.”
After a minute of silence, I decided to ask her what I was scared to ask. “This is still happening? I want to do something about it. I won’t let any of this happen to you again.” “No, three years ago me and my brother got adopted. I told you the truth when I told you that everything is good now. They are amazing and are helping me to get better.” “That’s good. That’s why we never meet them? You didn’t want us to know your story?” “Yeah, that’s one of the reasons.” “One?” “Yeah, well the other one you will understand when you see my moms.” “Your moms?” I asked, still not sure I had heard it right. “Yeah, I got adopted by two moms.” “Oh, Megan will love this.” “I know.” “You want to come back for lunch or do you want to stay here?” “Stay here. Can we just watch a movie?” “Fine, but I choose.”
I jumped on top of her and got the remote so I could choose the movie. “No way, we are on my bed, so I choose.” She got the remote from my hands. “No no, I'm your mother so I choose.” “There’s nothing to do with it. I won’t give it to you.” “Yes you are.”
With that I began to tickle her, trying to get the remote back. Then there was a knock on the door and it opened, but we were too occupied to see who it was. “Okay kids, let's stop the fight.” Oh, that’s Chris. “Tell that to Tobs, she is the one attacking me.” “I see.” Christen separated us. “How are my girls? I’ve been told that I should come here to check on you both, but by the look of things I guess that is all sorted out now.” I looked at Y/n and she had a smile on her face. “I think we are better now right?” “Yeah, much better. Thank you Tobs.” “Of course, I'll always be here for you.” She hugged me and I gave a kiss on her head.
“Oh, I feel left out now.” “Sorry Chris, but Tobs will tell you everything later. But I know I can count on you as well. I’m going to change my shirt now and wash my red face.”
Y/n stood up and left the remote on the bed. “Yes, I got the remote.” I could see Y/n shaking her head and then closing the bathroom door, Chris came to me, gave me a quick peck and asked me what happened.
Your pov
I went to the bathroom to change my shirt and clean myself, and I could hear Tobin telling Christen a little bit of what I told her. “‘What was that about?’ ‘The girls were talking about family stuff on the table and the topic is a little complicated for her. She lost her mom really young and lived in foster care most part of her life, and just recently got adopted. I tell you more later, don’t worry about it.’” I’m glad I finally got to share my story with someone else, and it is no surprise that the two of them were the first to know, I like them a lot.
While I was in the bathroom my phone started to ring.
“Kid, your phone is ringing and is your mom. She wants to facetime.” Tobin yelled from the bed. “Which one?” I yelled back. “Humm… mom Mac?!” Oh, maybe that is a great time to introduce them.
“Could you answer for me? I’m almost finishing.” “Me?” “Yeah, you didn’t want to meet her? That’s the time. She wants to talk to you both as well.” There was a silence in the room, until Chris spoke. “I don’t think that is a good idea.” “You’ll like to talk with her. Don’t you trust me?” “Fine.” Tobin answered me and accepted the call, ready to talk to my mom.
“Hi hon… Oh, hi Tobin!” I could hear my mom speaking. I was already changed, but I wanted to see their reactions while meeting my mom. “Hi… wait your Shannon MacMillan.” Toby speaks and stays with an open mouth. “Yes, and I was told that you are my daughter’s roommate. Oh, hi Christen I didn't see you before. How are you doing?” “Your daughter?” Now was Christen's time to stay in shock. “Yeah Y/n. Is she alright?” “Yeah, but… what?” Tobin was speechless, so I decided to intervene.
“Oh hi mom, sorry I was in the bathroom.” “Hi honey and taking by Tobin and Christen's faces I believe you hadn’t told them about me, am I right?” “Maybe? I actually didn’t tell anyone on the team, I dodged their questions about my family. You know how I am, I wanted them to get to know me first.” “I know.” “But I had told Tobin almost everything, I just kept your name out of it. She saw my scars and made me explain it.” I lightly elbowed Tobin, trying to take her off her transe. “Made you?” I think it worked. “Y/n!!”
“I’m kidding, kind of. She just got overprotective and wanted to punch the person who made me those, so I had to explain the story to her.” “Yeah, I was right she is definitely your team mom. And don’t worry Tobin, they are already taken care of.” Tobin laughed and poked me in my sides “I told you, now even your mom agrees with me. But I gotta say this is kind of crazy.” “Whatever, that doesn't mean you can choose the movie.” “Movie?” Mom asked, not quite understanding what we were talking about. So Chris came to the rescue. “When I got here they were in a tickle fight, because Tobin wanted to choose the Netflix movie and Y/n had the remote.” I completed it. “Christen saves me, but then Tobin got the remote, so it looks like we will be seeing her movie.”
“Seems like you’re having fun. I just called to tell you that the thing you buy on the internet has arrived, I hid it in the garage. I'm sure your mama won’t find it there.” Great, my mama birthday present has arrived. “Cool, and is everything ok?” “Yes, as we expected. We’ll call you later to talk more, I just took that I was alone now so I could warn you.” “Thanks mom.” “Bye honey. Bye Tobin and Christen.” “Bye Shannon.” They say in unison.
So I turned off the call and looked at them, they had a surprised look on their face so I got ready for the questions. Mainly the questions were about why I didn't tell them or the team about it, how I ended up with them and I had to explain my whole story again for Christen. In the end, it was already time for team meeting and we were getting ready to go.
As we waited for the elevator, I remembered to ask them something. “Guys, please don’t tell the team nothing about it.” “Why not? Speedy, I already told you that they won’t treat you any different.” Tobin scolded me. “I just... I will tell them when I feel comfortable, but for now just keep this secret for me. Please mom!!” “You can’t pull the mom card like this.” “Why not? You told yourself that you’re my team mom.” Tobin kept staring at me until she gave up. “Fine. But I think you should at least tell them about your mom, because if they find out about it from another person they're gonna be mad.” Christen punches Tobin in the arm. “Tobin! They are not gonna be mad at you Y/n. Just at the moment, and then they will just fill you with questions. But the last part is going to happen either way.” “Oh, so different from what I said.” Tobin said with sarcasm, but Christen sent her a killer look. “Sorry! But if by any chance, someone annoys you because of who your mother is, tell me and I will kick their ass.” Tobin told me with a serious look.
“You mean if they mocked me because Tobin Heath is my mom?” I tried to contain my laugh. “Oh, shut up!!” She got my head and began to rub it. “Mom stop!!” “Kids stop with it. Let’s go or we are gonna be late.”
With that we entered the elevator and I could see that Chris had a worried face on. My story must have affected her, she has a sad expression, so I decided to lighten her mood a little bit. “Oh Christen, you don’t need to be mad. You and mom are a couple, so that means you are my mom as well.” I hugged her and she kissed my head. She tightened the hug, and I knew some tears were rolling down her face. “Thank you Y/n, you for sure can come for me anytime you need. I’ll always be here for you.” “I know. You’re the mom I listen to but also the mom who grounds me, and Tobin is the mom who takes me out of the ground, and also the one who tries to cover my mess.” Christen rolled her eyes, understanding what I was trying to do. She cleaned the tears that had fallen out and shook her head, but now with a smile on her face. Tobin on the other hand protested. “I would never do that Christen!” “Why can't I believe that?”
With that the elevator door opened and Christen got out first, then Tobin raised her hand for me to hit it. I love these two. We got to team meeting and discussed our training sessions, how our week is going to be and other things. The meeting took about an hour. After it, the whole team went to dinner, me and Tobin were talking about the conversation we had early about my past soccer teams and how my mom is a crazy fan, so we got our food and sat at some table don’t even looking to see who was on the other ones. But as we were talking Christen, Megan, Ash, Julie, Ali, Alyssa and Carli sat at our table as well.
“I’m telling you Tobs, once she got so mad about a bad call that she almost got inside the field to yell at the referee, luckily my 9 years old brother stopped her.” Tobin was laughing her ass out. “I would die to see that.” “Who did that?” Megan asked, breaking the bubble we were on. I then noticed everyone else that was on the table with us.
“What?” I asked, not quite sure what she was talking about. “Who almost got in the field?” “My mom.” “Oh…” “She seems cool.” Ash responded. “She is, when she is not mad. Despite that, she is awesome, my family is really supportive.” “Your brother plays soccer as well?” Alis asked. “No, he hates sports. But he loves to cheer for me, so he goes for all the games he can.” “Oh, this is so cute, I would love to meet him.” JJ awed with my answer. “He for sure will love to go to the mall with you and Chris, I can guarantee that he would be a better company then Tobs.” “Hey kid! You are just as bad as I am.” Tobin protested. “Ok you're right. But I’m telling the truth, he and my mom go on walks for hours.” “I’m certainly taking him out when we meet him.” Chris gave me a wink, letting me know that this was for sure happening some time soon.
“And who encouraged you to play soccer? Your mom or your dad?” Alyssa asked, wanting to know more about my family. I took a big breath and answered her. “Oh, it’s a little more complicated than that. But I can for sure tell you that it was not my father.” “Why is that? He doesn't like sports?”
I take a look at Tobin and Christen and them both nod their heads encouraging me to tell them. “No, it’s because… I don't have a father, at least not one that I care about.” “Sorry I didn’t want to put you through that.” Alyssa told me with a worried expression. “That’s fine, I'm ok with that now.” “So is it just you, your brother and your mom?” Ali asked. “Well, my moms.” “Excuse me?” Megan almost spilled all the water she was drinking with the new information. “My moms. Me, my brother and my two moms.” “Oh, that is awesome. I already liked you before, now I like you even more.” Megan cheered and high five me. “Because of my parents?” “Yeah, you were already cool, now that I know that you for sure support my community you got points with me. Tell me about them!” “They are awesome, I've only been with them for three years, but they changed my life when they adopted me.” Ops! Shouldn’t have said the last part. “Wait, you are adopted?” Ali asked. “Yep.”
“Who is adopted?” Emily asked while getting close to the table. “Y/n” Alyssa answered. “What? You never told us.” Mal and the other youngies were all surrounding us now. “That’s why you run away during lunch?” I looked around and by now the whole team was at the table listening to the conversation.
“So about that…” I look at Tobin and send her a ‘help me’ look, she quickly understands me and steps up. “Guys, less questions okay? If she hasn't told us about it yet it’s because she is not comfortable with it, so let’s give her time.”
Everyone nodded, but Megan was still interested in my family. “Fine, but I want to know more about your moms okay?” “That I can do, but I think you already know at least one of them.”
I took my phone and showed her a picture of my family. Her mouth drops and she passes the phone for Ash, who passes to Ali, who passes to Carli, who finally says something.
“Wait a minute, your mom is Shannon MacMillan?” “Yeah.”
Everybody's jaw drops, except for Christen and Tobin because they already knew, and the questions started again. I finally told them my story and Tobin was right, they were really supportive and of course asked a lot of questions, but I'm fine with it. They are my family now.

He wasn’t looking forward to the occasion, particularly when Raven explained that they would be celebrating the event with a two-week extravaganza at a luxury hotel, meaning that Charles would be forced to spend a whole fortnight with the man who he’d given everything to; the man who had ultimately broken his heart…

NCT Dream Birth Charts x Hexaco Results Analysis pt. 3
recently NCT Dream were on a new reality show called Mental Training Camp where they are doing a variety of activities and all of their behavior and interactions are being analyzed by professional psychologists
ofc my virgo sun mercury ass was thrilled and I had their birth charts pulled up the whole time to cross reference.
I wanted to share some of my personal thoughts on how the 2 might connect!
Thank you for all the support on the previous parts <3
part 1 // part 2 // part 3
Tumblr media
**key: in the hexaco charts the blue represents the Dreamies, the orange is an average result of 300 college students who took the same test**
Haechan - “Popular and Ambitious”
✨gemini sun // leo moon // cancer mercury // gemini venus // gemini mars✨
Tumblr media
they started Haechans analyses by labeling him as popular and ambitious, and even without looking at the hexaco or his birth chart these 2 traits are very easy to see in him. Haechans birth chart and hexaco are really interesting and almost refreshing to me because everything is so straightforward. I honestly think Haechan is a very what you see is what you get kind of person. I think the psychologists on the show were feeling some of that interest and refreshing feeling too because they described him as being very different from the rest of the group (and the college students), and kind of special. A somewhat rare personality.
the first thing they talked about was his insane level of extroversion. I have to say when I first saw that I choked on air a little. Not only is it just ridiculously high, but it’s also so obvious given his birth chart too. looking at the hexaco chart, the focus on extroversion and then how the other areas are either just around the average or below is very interesting to me. we saw something similar in a few of the previous dreamies too. Some of them had highly above average scores for one area and to me that says a lot about the dominant parts of their personality.
Looking at haechans birth chart, we all know he’s practically on par with Seventeens Hoshi for being an iconic gemini. Having such a social, extroverted and excitable sign in 3 different planets will certainly make someone extroverted, but charts have to be looked at as a whole as well and he’s also fortunate to have a leo moon because it doesn’t add any kind of introversion. He is a pure excitable, affectionate and social extrovert. His extroversion can be seen in the ways he’s very interested in whats happening “out there”. Gemini’s are very curious and restless and like to explore the world and environment around them, and have a lot to gain from connecting with people.
Right after they mentioned this though, they quickly added that it’s actually somewhat rare for highly extroverted people to be highly conscientious too. If you look at his hexaco his next highest scores are conscientiousness and openness. Even though gemini is a mutable sign and likes to try new things and stay entertained, they are some of the most determined people I’ve ever met. You do not want to get in between a Gemini and their work. Gemini is a very mental sign as well, they’re good with tasks and enjoy getting them done and focusing on their work. As well as his firey Leo moon. Leo is a sign that I often think can change quite a lot depending on the chart and houses but his with the gemini, is creating a highly focused, ambitious and driven person.
they described him as the “relief pitcher” for the team when in crisis. He’s the one that comes into the game for a round or 2 when things aren’t going well to secure their win, then steps back out. If this isn’t the most accurate description for haechan and gemini/leo?! Leo and Gemini are both highly intelligent signs, I feel like people don’t talk about that a lot with leo but it’s true! Also his combination of leo with gemini is interesting because sometimes people have drive, ambition and passion, but there are other placement that kind of complicate how it gets expressed. And they can’t always fulfill all of their desires and passions. But having all gemini and that one leo is really in his favor, he’s very “this is what I want, so I’m going to get it”. It’s easy for him. He can easily bring his ambitions to fruition which is why he’s the “relief pitcher”. It’s gemini magic and leo talent honestly.
this was the extent of what they said for Haechan but I have more I’d like to add!
his openness is on par with his conscientiousness and that is also no surprise because even though gemini gets a rep. for being “detached” it’s actually a fairly open sign too. What gemini is open about depends greatly on the other placements, and in haechans case with his only other influences being leo and cancer, he can easily be open about those traits and desires. The attention, validation, love and affection. They are all very big parts of him, and he also has no problem speaking his mind. But he also isn’t as obsessive as other leo and cancer combinations because of his overwhelming gemini. It’s very “in this second I want affection” and then the next second he’s over it. With haechan I’ve always found it interesting how he is so openly affectionate but it never seems like an unhealthy attachment thing? he isn’t reliant on it, and can easily go from wanting it, to not. It’s very uncomplicated. This is also part of the Gemini rep. they are very flighty and their minds change by the second, but are also very self-reliant and independent. This is also why his emotionality is low even though his openness is high. Again, I don’t think he’s an emotionally driven person, he’s just open with his desires.
tldr; talented, confident, skilled, self-sufficient and independent. He is driven by exploring the world and people around him, he enjoys making connections. Very open about his thoughts and needs, but emotionally uncomplicated. His drive and ambition is bottomless, never-ending. What he wants, he gets.
Jaemin - “Optimistic My Way”
✨leo sun // capricorn moon // leo mercury // virgo venus // leo mars✨
Tumblr media
I would like to start by saying that Jaemin is the sole reason that it took me so long to get this post out. This boy has always, and probably always will, confuse the hell out of me. And I’m sure he likes it that way. Actually, I’m confident he likes it that way because he admitted to the psychologists that on the test they took he answered number 3 for every question, so he wouldn’t have to reveal too much about himself. This is why they labeled him as “my way”, very “do what I want” kind of person. They said he really made them use a lot of brain power, and I relate lol. Even outside of this post every time I watch nct dream I’m always trying to understand Jaemin. So here goes my best shot at understanding this man.
they mentioned jaemin is difficult and complicated, he’s hard to read, and he’s someone that cannot be perfectly described with one personality test. I agree, which is why I hope one day we can get those house placements please!
The first thing that caught my attention based off his chart is how small his blue hexagon is. I actually had to double check that the blue was him and not the average😅 because of how he answered the test I don’t know how accurate the hexaco is? they didn’t really comment on that but they did continue to reference it.
the main thing they talked about with Jaemin was about how he is very aware of what he does and doesn’t like, he knows who he gets along with and who he doesn’t, he has no problems showing when he doesn’t like something, and he is very uninterested and borderline apathetic when it comes to things and people he is simply not interested in.
I think where I get really tripped up with Jaemin is because he has 3 leo placements, yet I feel like he doesn’t act much like a typical leo in my opinion? At least not to the cameras. I honestly think Jaemin might be someone who is very different off camera and at home. When I see jaemin I see flashes of it, but I get a lot of his earth influence.
I want to start with his capricorn moon because I feel like it’s something i see the most in him. For starters, it is literally why he is so private. Even before this show, it was a well known thing amongst NCTzens that Jaemin is a very private person. He also comes off as very reserved, in control and calm. Jaemin answering every question with a 3, so that it neither over or under represents him, but puts him in the questionable middle, is very capricorn moon. Not wanting to be understood. Not wanting to appear as having any exact problems. They’re practical, controlled, level-headed... right? They’re not the ones with messy emotions, couldn’t be them.... That’s the whole capricorn struggle. The moon is put in a very tough spot with Capricorn. Scorpio moons are in fall and Capricorns are in detriment. But it works very differently. Scorpios have wickedly intense emotions that they are kind of scared of, so they hide them, but they want to be understood and feel safe enough to express them. Capricorn moons straight up deny their feelings.
On the bright side though, I feel like his Capricorn moon is also responsible for the other part of his personality which is: how weird he is. Capricorn moons are also known for being ridiculously funny and weird. Very weird. I think this is also where his Leo comes in and kind of teams up with his moon. Leo’s are natural performers and sometimes when I watch Jaemin I find myself being like “he is really putting on a show right now” but not in a bad way, I’m always highly entertained lol. He is a natural performer.
In haechan’s section I mentioned how, to me, leo is one of the signs that can change so drastically depending on the other planets and houses. I think jaemin is a really good example of this, because even without his hexaco chart we all know Jaemin is a huge introvert. He is actually a self-proclaimed introvert. He is open is the way he shows it, and he even said in a show that talking with people is hard because he loses so much energy. I think his Capricorn and Virgo play a big role in this and it’s why I’m so curious what his houses are and where that leo is. Because even though our moons affect us a lot, with 3 leo placements i would expect someone to be a little more extroverted.
Where I also see a lot of his Leo though, is of course, with how affectionate he is. he’s also very creative and a huge provider. A big misconception with leo is that all they do is take. This is one side to leo, and Haechan is a good example of that side because he has the gemini and leo moon, but Jaemin is a really good example of the strong provider and caretaker side of Leo. With his earth placements too. he is definitely someone who prides himself on taking care of people.
now to compare his hexaco to his birth chart, his extroversion, emotionality, agreeableness and honesty-humility is lower than average. Sure, part of that could be the way he took the test, but I also think it can be seen in his very controlling earth placements. Having earth in 2 of the planets that hold a lot of our emotions and expression, and the fact that it is virgo and capricorn and not taurus, is making him very in control of his emotions and expression, and he has strong boundaries. It also makes him more introverted. The low agreeableness is just his whole chart honestly. Leo is a fixed sign, and even though virgo is mutable, they still have very particular ways they like to do things, and capricorn is a leader and takes charge.
His openness is interesting to me and I wanna say that I think it’s very similar to what I wrote for haechan. He’s open, but not necessarily emotionally driven. He is open about the things that drive him, so not emotions, but something else. Work. His morals and values. His boundaries. Things he does and doesn’t like! lastly, his conscientiousness also fits into this, virgo capricorn and leo are all extremely driven, passionate and hard workers and we know work and stability is a high value and priority of his.
tdlr; hard to read, very private and likes it that way. He is driven by work, ethic, stability and providing. He knows his values, and has little interest in things he doesn’t care for. Optimistic, weird, funny and a natural performer. Likes to be in control and needs to recharge a lot. Probably the most different off camera and at home.
and that’s part 3! Thanks you to everyone that has tuned into this series it was so much fun. Thoughts and feedback are always welcome <3

Lean (Miraak x Reader):
Contemplating on writing for Pyramid Head every once in a while since I can't get the thick bastard off my mind but we'll see what the future brings
---------------------------------------------
"Do you like winter, Miraak?" I asked the man strolling quietly beside me. "Not necessarily. However, I remember a time when I did. My temple always felt a bit warmer-- more enjoyable during that time." I snorted at him in amusement, to which he wasn't fond of. "I just imagined you stringing up holiday decor." He merely scoffed in denial, though we both knew it was true.
While searching for another conversation topic, my foot slid against the mud beneath me. "Careful," Miraak warned as his hands clasped firmly around my shoulders. My breath was trapped in my throat from the sudden startle, but somehow he only made it worse. Once my voice came back to me, I said, "uh...-- yeah. Thank you." Damn, his hands were so warm. I could feel the heat emitting from them even through my armor. Alas, the soothing feeling dissappeared as soon as he retracted his arms.
"Honestly, I'm surprised you hadn't already cracked your skull before I came along. It seems that you are always tripping and stumbling wherever you go." I scratched my cheek and chuckled sheepishly. "Ah, you know me so well."
"That is only because I stand witness to it," he uttered. We continued onward to Morthal in silence. A week ago, Jarl Idgrod sent me a letter of assistance; "potential murdurer on the loose," it had read. She noted that she wasn't one to fall victim to senseless gossip, but over the last several days she had been growing paranoid of the situation. Thus, she requested us to investigate. "I wonder why the jarl wants two dragonborn to take care of a killer instead of the guards? Gods, I feel like most of the soldiers are just using this pitiful war as an excuse to be lazy," I grumbled with my arms crossing.
"I agree. Though as far as I'm concerned, she wants you to handle it, not I." I perked up at his remark. "What do you mean? Everyone should know by now that you're just as powerful as I am. We've been traveling together for three months." Miraak diverted his gaze from me and pointed it straight ahead. "Perhaps, but you and I are still very different from one another. The people of Skyrim view you as a hero to be remembered for ages, whereas I will forever be remembered as a traitor-- if I was even remembered at all." The atmosphere around us suddenly became very dim. For a moment, the only noise that could be heard was the mire sloshing under our boots.
"That's bullshit," I retorted finally. Miraak was taken aback by my sudden change of attitude. "Excuse my language, but it is. Look at all of the good you've done since we've been together! We took down a vampire lord for crying out loud! And yeah, we weren't thanked for it or anything--"
"Y/n."
"But that doesn't matter. What does matter is that you put in a lot of effort to make the world safer, and I think that deserves respect."
"Y/n." By now, Miraak was no longer walking at my side. "What is it?" Before he was able to respond, the muddy ground had fallen loose beneath me and I plummeted into a brown socket of water. Oh yeah, I forgot that we were trudging through a swamp. The filth shot through my mouth and nose as I was completely sumberged. To make matters worse, the water was also incredibly frigid, making it even more difficult to sort through my panic. A pair of arms dove into the murk and proceeded to yank me up by my collar.
I gurgled, spluttered, and heaved strong breaths once I was dragged out of harm's way. Miraak shook his head at me all the while. I could practically feel the smirk hiding under his mask. "Oh, yeah. Real funny. Please continue... to remind me of how much... of a klutz I am," I rasped, still trying to flow air into my lungs. "I did try to warn you, you know. You were about to walk straight into the pond," the man defended. "Ok. I'll give you that." Miraak helped me to my feet after I finally regained my composure. "Oh, great," I sighed at the muck covering me head-to-toe. "I look so unprofessional." He skimmed over the grime coated over my outfit before scooping a clump of mud and smearing some over his robes. "I suppose we'll both have to look unprofessional, then." My cheeks tainted a dark pink at his actions, but I decided to blame it on the nip in the air.
My arms hugged my body when I started to shiver. Going for a dip in late autumn definitely wasn't the best of choices. Miraak scanned over the map and pinpointed our distance from Morthal. "We won't be able to arrive there before nightfall. We still have an hour left to go," he informed. I groaned to myself in reply. "Guess we'll have to make camp, then." He nodded, gesturing me to follow him.
In a matter of minutes, he had already secured a decent campfire and was now assembling the tent. Meanwhile, I was sitting on a nearby log with my bedroll enveloped around my trembling body. I was enjoying watching him, though. "I'd say you're a natural. When did you get so skilled at camping?" I inquired once he took a seat next to me. "By learning from you," he stated simply. Gods, how could he be such a jerk yet act so charming?! I avoided saying anything more and began scrubbing the dirt from my armor with a wet rag.
It was freezing, tonight. There was no comforting glow from the moon and stars due to the thick layer of clouds overhead, which only made it feel colder. I shuddered when a breeze travelled through the area and tormented my body. I was still wearing my undershirt and trousers, and even those were still damp. The cloth made my fingers sting the more I used it, until I felt Miraak's hand take ahold of my own. "Your fingers are red," were the only words that left his mouth before he grabbed my other hand and squeezed them both gently. I was so shocked by this that I couldn't even so much as blink. "Are you cold?" I had forgotten about the prickles climbing over my skin. "Um--uhh, kind of." How did my voice become so small?
Before I could protest, I was pulled closer to Miraak. And now that I left exposed, he felt even warmer than he did earlier. I wasn't even touching him! Not to mention how nice his hands felt. He was like a portable smelter! I stayed more silent than a moth as he continued to caress my fingers and palms. There was no telling what was going on inside of that brain of his.
"You may lean against me, if you like."
Oh.
Oh!
My heart was thrashing around inside of my chest. He wanted me to just... slide even closer and lean on him?! Just like that?! By now, my mind was spiraling in both confusion and embarrassment. Still, I was very cold. There wasn't any harm in doing it, right? He was the one who offered. I ultimately accepted his proposal.
It started off with our knees touching awkardly, and then with my head attempting to rest against his shoulder, which failed due to the golden scales protruding out from his sleeve and jabbing me in the side of the head. Miraak eventually lifted his arm, inviting me to scooch under it-- to which I did. As soon as I got situated, he let his hand ease onto my shoulder. I was so flustered that I could barely breathe. It was suffocating, practically unbearable, yet I only felt myself nestling further into him. "You're really warm," I mumbled.
Oh, dear.
Why on Nirn did I say that? I sounded like a pervert!!! What if he thought I was creepy?! My heart dropped as he held me still and turned to look at me. "Y/n, how do you feel?" It was made to be a question, but it sounded more of a demand. I sat tense for a long while, lips parted yet unmoving. "About...?" I gulped when he slowly placed my hand flat against his chest. I could feel his heart throbbing at a rapid pace, as was mine. "Me."
Miraak's voice was low and sounded on edge. Perhaps he was more nervous than I thought he was? My next movements were reckless. Recklessness seemed to be my only sense of courage, right now. I carefully drew his hand towards me and slipped off his glove. He didn't stop me, however his muscles twitched under my touch. I stared at his pale skin for a long while. It was decorated with veins and had a scar stretched over his knuckles. Thanks to the protection of his gloves, his fingernails were in prestine condition. In short, his hands were utterly glorious.
I tilted my face down and pressed my lips against his scar, leaving him breathless. "Does that answer your question?" I asked Miraak with a flushed grin. Without responding, he brushed his thumb over my cheek and felt the entirety of my features. His hand was so calloused and smoothe! I cupped my own against it, keeping it there for as long as possible. Once again, I was pulled into another embrace, this one being much tighter and affectionate. Neither of us decided to speak, and somehow it felt more befitting that way.
With my head resting against Miraak's chest, I could hear his heartbeat quite clearly. It was much slower compared to earlier, more soothing than anything. He wasn't very sure where to place his hands, so he kept one firm on my waist and the other rubbing my hair. Sure, my face was hotter than a bonfire and there was still panic fresh on my mind. Then again, I also felt so calm in his arms. This may have been the first time in my life where I actually felt normal. Everything around me simply fell into place. It was selfish of me to inwardly beg for this moment to never end. As a dragonborn, I had my responsibilites, but for now I kicked those responsibilities aside. I had the right to be selfish every now and then.
"Maybe I should go diving into swamps more often," I teased, breaking through the comfortbale silence. I felt my heart flutter in the midst of him vibrating a soft chuckle. "That would certainly be an entertaining idea. Though I might not get the same reaction from you each time." I peered up at my new love interest with a quirked brow. "What kind of reaction?" In one swift motion, Miraak nudged up his mask to his nose and blessed me with a kiss. It was quick and simple, hardly lingering over my lips in time for me to process it. It was as if I had just imagined it!
Even so, the blush stained on my cheeks was already spreading to my ears. This man was a complete menace. His mask was already tipped back down, but the coy smile he was holding was evident. "You bastard," I hissed. He only shrugged his shoulders at me. "If you fall into the swamp again, I may even give you another kiss," Miraak jested. I proceeded to whack his bicep.
------------------------
I bet Miraak got those plump ass lips :^3

A Great Team
Requested by Anonymous and @coralscanvas
I hope you don’t mind that I combined these requests since there was an overlap in the prompts and I found a way to incorporate the scenes you wanted together so I hope you like it! Also, I’m sorry this took super duper long!! Please let me know what you thought on it! ^^
Prompts:  12. “Please stop poking me.” & 14. “We work great together! I’m like Batman and you’re my Robin!” & 15. “You’re being ridiculous, how hard can this be?” & 17. “Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t realize that you spoke Walker!” & 19. “Nope, sorry, I don’t speak bullshit.” & 22. “I never knew I mattered this much to you.”
Pre-Season 4; Prison Era
Sarcastic and funny Reader goes on a run with Daryl; she likes to bug him and make him laugh but while on the run, she ends up hurt.
Tumblr media
Going on supply runs was not a new thing at the end of the world, it was a need to survive. It just proved to be more difficult as more time went by since places would be already raided. Outside your community was always dangerous, whether it be the walkers that roamed aimlessly or people who just wanted what you had. You knew this when you resided in Woodbury, and it all still proved to be true when you got to the prison after the Governor had abandoned the place.
You had made yourself a very important part of the prison, always trying to help out either with being on watch or going on runs. You knew you didn’t have to, but you wanted to help these people. You knew they weren’t bad people just because you were on the opposite side of the battlefield, they were just protecting their home, their people; and those people also became your people. You believed that just because someone didn’t seem like a good person, didn’t always mean they weren’t a good person. That proved to be true since you had become good friends with Merle Dixon.
As you were the librarian back in Woodbury, you had just surrounded yourself with books, mainly comics, and surprisingly, Merle would join you every once in a while since he liked your personality. Or rather, he liked how you didn’t take shit from people and never let anyone get their way with you. He’d amuse himself with conversations with you, bickering about everything and anything, but that was just harmless banter. He enjoyed your humorous remarks and sarcastic retorts to whatever he had to say.
“Oh, my brother woulda loved you,” you would always hear Merle say, and when you first met him, you told yourself that Merle was just bullshitting you.
Daryl Dixon didn’t seem like the type of person who trusted or “loved” anyone, at least not when you first met him. He was always quiet and to himself, never looking anyone straight in the eye unless they were from his original group. You didn’t plan to try to get to know the man or even have any kind of conversation with him until you learned from Michonne what happened to Merle. He was killed by the Governor. He was your friend and he died; that hurt you more than you thought it ever would. However, you knew that whatever pain you were going through, it would never compare to how Daryl would be feeling and so you take it upon yourself to talk to him and make sure he was okay.
At first it was hard to get Daryl to talk to you, he brushed you off, told you to leave him alone, and of course, he snapped at you when you mentioned his brother. That didn’t scare you away though, if Merle wasn’t able to scare you away, there was no chance Daryl could. You kept trying to get him to open up, using the same kinds of jokes Merle used to laugh at. You thought that since they were brothers, they would have the same humor. As it turns out, you were right. It didn’t show immediately at first, but Daryl was slowly opening up to you as you kept trying to make him laugh with silly jokes. The man barely ever smiled around you, and so the first time he did, the beautiful smile changed everything for you.
That smile was why you were out in the woods now, walking alongside Daryl after hiding his bike away in a shroud of bushes. He wanted to go on a run alone, bring back food for the many mouths at the prison, but you weren’t having it. After spending close to everyday with Daryl, you found that you’d already fallen for him. You didn’t want him out in the woods alone no matter how well you knew that he could handle his own.
“What the hell ‘re ya doin’...?” Daryl says as he glances at you.
“Well, if you’re not going to talk to me, I might as well make a new friend,” you say, holding up the rock you’d picked up from the ground, “meet Rocky.”
Daryl scoffs and rolls his eyes as he walks quicker. You eye him when he doesn’t respond to your joke, jogging to catch up with him again. The two of you had been walking for over twenty minutes but Daryl had barely said a word to you, not even his infamous grunts.
“Please stop pokin’ me,” Daryl says after a few minutes; you’d been poking his arm for a a while.
“Oh, he speaks!” you say sarcastically, earning you another scoff.
“How d’ya expect us to catch anythin’ if ya keep talkin’? Scarin’ away any game.” Daryl mutters.
“Do you really expect me to believe that that’s why you’re not talking to me?” you call him out, “we’ve caught a deer and then some and I’ve been so much louder, you too.”
“Yeah, we coulda caught more too if ya jus’ shut up,” Daryl retorts.
“What’s wrong, Daryl? Seriously,” you say, stopping in your tracks while Daryl only stops to look at you when he realizes you aren’t walking with him anymore, “Don’t think I can’t tell when something’s bothering you, now tell me.”
“Ain’ nothin’ botherin’ me, now le’s jus’ go.” Daryl says, turning around to walk again.
You sigh at this, “yeah... nope, sorry I don’t speak bullshit.”
You jog up to catch up to him again and you’re about to speak when he puts his hand up to stop you, and you don’t have to ask why. The next thing you two heard was snarling from all around you. Without a second thought, the two of you make a run for it. From the sounds of it, there were too many walkers to fight. You run for a while until Daryl deems it clear.
“Ya know...” Daryl starts, panting from all the running, “they only knew where we were... ‘cause ya kept blabbin’.”
You eye him, still panting, “oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t realize you spoke Walker!”
“I don’t, jus’ pointin’ out the obvious,” Daryl grumbles, he then looks up at the sky, “it’s gettin’ late, should find a place to make camp.”
You sigh and nod, deciding not to fight him on the issue or who’s fault it was that you two nearly got caught in a herd of walkers. Daryl had collected wood for a fire while you tied up a string with cans as your alert system around your temporary camp. After Daryl had returned with enough wood for a small campfire, he was now trying to get it to light. However, he seemed to be having some trouble since the pile of wood did not seem to be lighting.
“Dammit!” Daryl says in frustration, throwing the sticks he had in his hand back into the pile of wood.
You have to stop yourself from chuckling at his reaction since you knew he was frustrated, “here, let me try.”
“Nah, ya won’t get it,” Daryl says, picking up another two sticks to try again, “ain’ as easy as it looks.”
You roll your eyes at him and take the sticks from him, “you’re being ridiculous, how hard can this be?”
Daryl huffs but lets you try to light the fire. You furrow your brows together when it doesn’t seem to be working. You pick up a bigger piece of wood and ask Daryl to help you hold it while you rub another stick on it. You break into a grin when you finally see a bit of smoke rising from the wood and then a small flame.
“See? Wasn’t hard at all,” you say proudly, leaning back and smiling at him.
“Yeah, ya jus’ needed my help,” Daryl says, the smallest of smirks on his lips but you’re happy to see it.
“Hmm... I guess, yeah, we do make a pretty great team.” you say, a cheeky grin on your face, “We work great together! I’m like Batman... and you’re my Robin!”
Daryl gawks at you after registering your words, and something changes in him, “you’re wrong on that...”
You notice this change in his tone, it worries you, it even scares you slightly, but you try to brush it off and joke with him like you always do, “wrong about... you being Robin?”
“Nah... ‘bout us bein’ a great team... we ain’t.” Daryl says, looking away from you.
“What?” you frown, that was not what you expected to hear at all.
“You’re too damn loud... always talkin’... makin’ everythin’ a joke, like everythin’s jus’ a big game... ya don’ take anythin’ seriously...” Daryl says, and every word is like an arrow to your heart.
“So I was what’s bothering you, is that it?” you scoff, trying to keep the tears that welled up in your eyes from falling, “well, why the hell didn’t you just say so?”
“Told ya I didn’ want ya out here...” Daryl mutters, his eyes avoiding yours.
You let out a shaky sigh as you stare at him in disbelief. You wanted to get up and go, run away from him if he had a problem with you, but you knew you couldn’t. It was getting late, you’d already set up a camp and if you left now, Daryl would chase you down. Regardless of what he said, he’d never let you go out in the middle of the woods in the dark, that just wasn’t him. So, you just stay put. Without saying anything else, you lie down and turn so that you’re back is to him. You were upset at what he said, pissed off, but mostly hurt. He completely brushed off the fact that you two fought side by side like the perfect duo, you two were a great team, you always had each other’s backs. You’d both saved each other’s lives countless times, but apparently that didn’t matter to Daryl since all you did was joke around.
The hurt and anger you felt for Daryl lingered until the morning and you were sure he knew it as well since neither of you said anything to each other as you packed up your things. You two walk along a road you’d found in silence, keeping an eye out for any animals or places you could search. You weren’t walking alongside Daryl though, you were a few steps ahead of him while he stayed back. He definitely sensed that you were pissed at him so he seemed to play it safe and give you some distance.
“Hey,” Daryl calls out, making you turn around to face him.
Your face told him that you were still going to ignore him but he seems to brush it off as he gestures over to the side. You look in that direction and furrow your brows. There was a building, it looked to be a store of some sort. The two of you look at each other then go towards the building without another word. You slow your steps once you’re closer to the building, you have your gun raised and ready to fire as Daryl taps on the window to call out any walkers that were inside.
“Seems clear,” Daryl says after a few minutes of silence.
You nod; you were still persistent on not saying a single word to him. Daryl realizes this as well as he sighs then goes over to pull open the door to the store. This wasn’t your first run together so you knew the protocol. It was no surprise that the shelves of the store were empty and had all been ransacked by whoever had come before you.
“Place has been wiped clean,” Daryl says as he makes his way back to you.
You nod but then your eyes land on a door with a sign that read ‘Storage’. You walk towards it; if the store was empty, there was still a chance that the storage room might still have supplies. It was a long shot but the people who ran through here might not have thought to go through the storage room.
“Hey, wait a second!” Daryl calls out but you had already listened to your instinct and opened the door.
That was the wrong move.
“Shit!” you cry out, backing up as walkers flooded out of the storage room.
You feel Daryl’s hand on your arm, pulling you away from the bloodthirsty herd as you shoot at them with your handgun. Daryl grunts as he yanks you away, making sure that you were behind him.
“C’mon! Let’s go!” Daryl shouts at you while he shoots at the herd with his crossbow, “get outta here, I’ll hold’em off!”
“No!” you shout back, “I’m not leaving you here, we go together!”
No matter how mad or upset you were at him, you were never going to leave Daryl behind. You analyze your current situation: walkers were flooding out of the storage room and were blocking your way from the closest exit. You needed to block off the walkers so that you could make it out of the store without them following behind you. You knew where Daryl’s bike was but you needed to make your way back to it without leading the herd back.
“The hell are ya waitin’ for?! I said go!” Daryl yells, frantic.
He’d already strapped his crossbow back on his shoulder and pulled out his knives to kill the walkers. You look at the shelves of the store and realise that they weren’t connected to the ground. You could push them. That’s how you would block the herd and get the both of you out of there. Without another word, you dash away towards one of the nearest shelves. You push the shelf towards the herd, thankfully it was light enough since it was empty. Daryl shouts at you disapprovingly when he sees that you haven’t left but once he realizes what you were doing, he rushes to the next shelf to do the same. Soon enough, you two had made a barricade of shelves between you and the walkers.
“Pretty good idea,” Daryl says, a small smirk on his face; you assumed he was trying to win your forgiveness with compliments.
“Of course it was, it was my idea.” you say without looking at him.
“C’mon, let’s get outta here,” he says as he leads the way out.
You nod with a sigh then when you’re about to turn to follow him, an arrow on the ground near the shelves catches your eye. You decide to go and pick it up since you needed all of your resources even if Daryl could make his own anytime he wanted to. Once your hand touches the arrow, you notice the shelf in front of you moving, about to tip over. You gasp in surprise and try to dash out of the falling shelf but cry out in pain when you feel a crushing pain on your ankle. You’d almost made it, but your ankle had got caught under the shelf.
“Y/N!” you hear Daryl shout as he runs towards you.
There was another layer of shelves between you and the walkers so that gave Daryl enough clearance to lift the shelf up so you could get free. Without speaking, he picks you up bridal style and runs out of the store with you and if you weren’t in pain from your probably broken ankle, you’d be blushing since you were in Daryl’s arms.
The store wasn’t too far from where you and Daryl had left his bike so he was able to carry you there within the hour. You had tried to get Daryl to put you down but after his piercing glare at you, you decided to let him do what he wanted. He was angry at you, although you didn’t know why; you were the one who was hurt, afterall.
“You want to tell me why you’re mad at me?” you ask him once he seats you on his bike.
Daryl was crouched down, looking at your ankle to determine the damage. He doesn’t look up at you though, he doesn’t respond to your question either. You frown at him as he just completely ignores you, as if you hadn’t even spoken.
“Hello? Earth to Daryl?” you call out, then you huff in frustration, “I’m the one who’s hurt, okay?! If anyone should be mad, it’s me! At least tell me what the hell I did-”
“I told ya to go!” Daryl snaps at you, “I told ya to leave, to get outta that damn place! But ya never listen! Ya stayed wit’ me... came up with tha’ damn plan an’ tha’s how ya got hurt!”
“If I didn’t stay... I didn’t do what I did, you would have become part of that herd!” you shout back at him.
“Then ya let me!” he yells, his body shaking as if he’s about to break down, “ya don’t come back for me... ya don’t go outta yer way to save me... not you... I can’t lose you too...”
Your heart breaks at his words. You finally realize why he got so worked up, why he never wanted you to go on runs with him, why he seemed so cold after you hurt your ankle. He didn’t want to lose anyone else, more specifically, he didn’t want to lose you. The thought of losing you destroyed him and this was written all over his face.
“I’m sorry...” you say, reaching out to pull him towards you, “I’m sorry... I should have been more careful.”
You let Daryl cry in your embrace. You don’t remember ever seeing him cry, not even when you tried to talk to him about Merle. You figured this was a good time to let him let out all of his emotions that had been pent up. Daryl pulls away from you after a few minutes, you thought he would be embarrassed that he had cried to you but to your surprise, he was looking into your eyes.
“Can ya promise me somethin’?” Daryl starts, his voice soft, “can ya stop goin’ on runs?”
“Why?” you ask, although you were sure you knew the answer.
“‘Cause you’re a part o’ me I don’ wanna lose.” Daryl says.
This man just keeps on surprising you, from his actions to his words. Your heart flutters and you smile at him.
“I never knew I mattered this much to you,” you say.
You aren’t able to control yourself when you lean in to kiss his lips gently. You feel Daryl freeze momentarily at your actions and you pull away, afraid that you may have upset him with your boldness.
“Sorry...” you whisper, “sorry I...”
“‘Ts okay,” he says with a faint smile, “‘m gonna take that as ya sayin’ yes though, to my promise.”
You chuckle then bat your eyelashes at him, “then... can I say it one more time?”
Daryl scoffs playfully, “later, we should head back, let Hershel take a look at yer ankle.”
“Okay,” you say with a smile.
You scoot back on the bike and Daryl gets on in front of you. Although the run didn’t go as smoothly or as planned, things were even better than you imagined. You knew that Daryl would have to go on more runs in the very near future, but knowing how much you affected him now, you were sure you could convince him not go alone anymore. Either that or you could just threaten him that you’d follow him out if he ever went out alone.

Superpowered life
I really liked how this episode took time to humanise both John Walker and the Flag Smashers.
I like how it gives us those moments from Flag Smasher’s point of view. Showing the small moments like Karli taking time to make sure the guy Walker shot is OK. And then her clear heartbreak for the friend who sacrifices himself. This is so different from the opening of last episode when Sam was killing LAF men left and right and Batroc didn’t care his people died. They were treated as disposable but Flag Smashers aren’t. They think themselves the heroes who fight for those who lived through Blip.
Last episode we saw the hurdles the returned have to go through but we also got a taste of the way those extra five years changed those left (from Hayward to Sarah). This episode we see the Walker and his group created as enforcers of the Global Repatriation Council so the returned at least have a body that takes care of their needs (even, as we see with Sam imperfectly) but it just makes those who grew up in the world without them more resentful (this movement seems to attract a lot of young people for whom the world without half of humanity became norm).
They had to give up a lot and their needs got swept under the rug when billions of people came back wanting the world to be just like when they left. It’s a misplaced anger (it’s not like those people had a choice and they are refugees often with even less than FS) but it is understandable and it’s no wonder there are so many people willing to hide them. And it’s hard for them not to feel vindicated when GRC sends men to “pacify” them. Making the Flag Smashers so diverse and throwing a guy dressed in American paraphernalia to fight them somewhere in Europe just drives home how not completely wrong they are.
But it looks like neither Walker nor our heroes are really the Flag Smashers big problem. It looks like they stole the serum that makes them super soldiers form Power Broker and that’s what was in those creates not vaccines. I wonder if they want to make so many more super strong followers or d the powers wear off with time and they need to keep taking it.
In many ways John Walker is a lot like Steve. He wants to help people and make the world better. He believes in the ideas of America and wants people to believe in them too. He wants to be the hope Steve was. He jumped on top of grenades. And he got really good at throwing that Shield fast (the way he saved Hoskins was pretty cool). He’s the best man for the job, isn’t he?
He’s even appropriately bashful about being lauded for his accomplishments. Feels weird about being trotted for shows in public. And have doubts he can live up to being Captain America. He’s also a little cocky and likes to use his influence (the government line, releasing Bucky) but that’s not that different than Tony. Or Thor. And he even has the same Big Three idea as Sam. He’s just like our heroes.
He’s just like those guys before they learnt their lessons about humility and blind trust. So isn’t us, or Sam and Bucky, not wanting to have to deal with that journey again just unwillingness to give him a chance?
But then the uncomfortable parts hit you. From the fact that he took the job over a black man. Sam isn’t completely wrong about becoming his own symbol and not just using Steve’s clout. The fact that John took it like it was something he deserved is already telling something about his confidence and show points us to the “white men confidence” on that by making it uncomfortable. From the way they have people of colour telling him he can do it. To the black best friend/sidekick. That last one really hit hard.
This is, however, not fully on John really. It’s on people who created him. In universe, the men who lauded Sam for giving up the Shield only to give it to a white dude. In real world on all those who keep creating protagonists like these.
This hit differently when the character of Captain America was created almost century ago and we were already so accustomed with him it’s easy to ignore the dissenting voices for the comfort of it’s always been like this. But there is still to many media that repeat this pattern over and over again with new characters.
The patterns so ingrained it has to be pointed out again and again how skewed that is and the show rammed it home with Walker calling both Sam and Bucky Steve’s wingmen. He was implying he wants them to be his now and they both went clearly “sorry, man, we are the protagonists now”. And that made him resort to threats and that is on him.
The thing about Steve was that there was plenty of brave, smart, decorated men with him in that camp. He wasn’t chosen because he was better then them at fighting but because of his heart and willingness to stand up for what is right no matter what. And when he jumped on the grandee he didn’t know he would survive. Walker has special helmet. And he clearly enjoys the privileges and power that comes with the position.
It’s all fun when he is the main character in this story - saving the Avengers and getting them out of trouble - but when they refuse to be appropriately grateful and fall in line his generosity turns to anger. And that really drives home that white man entitlement, doesn’t it? (I hope it does.)
And the show doesn’t stop there. There is still the way US government treated Isaiah Bradley. Bucky got pardoned for everything with just Steve’s backing but the man who protected Americans from him got nothing but abuse. All Bradley can have is being left alone while Bucky is recognised as an Avenger. At least Steve was always a hero but Bucky used to be a villain and he still is better off. It reminds us how long this has been and issue. (The kid is Eli, though, isn’t he?)
And then there is the way police treat Sam. The tone they use when they ask Bucky if “this man is bothering you”. And then complete change when Bucky says “do you know who that is” and the celebrity status hits and suddenly Sam isn’t jut a black guy but Mr. Wilson, the Avenger. But it really hits when it turns out Bucky is to be arrested because he missed his therapy session for a trip to Europe. The policeman is still polite and all “Mr. Barnes” and “sorry about this”.
We see Bucky’s super soldier serum powers in work (with jumping and running) and Walker I think just has the suit and good coordination but it’s clear their greatest superpower is being white men.
I liked this episode take on racism better as it was better at showing it as a background didn’t involve Sam ignoring his sister’s agency and her knowledge. And because it showed the status his celebrity grants him better, especially when contrasted with the life of Isaiah Bradley who has powers but not fame so none of the perks and all the burdens of being experimented on.
And I like the way it shows it also gets to those who are discriminated. After all the kid who calls Sam Black Falcon is black too. It’s just Falcon. No qualifiers necessary. But then Sam calls Bucky White Panther. The colour coding gets to all of us. (In Polish pantera = lampart and both mean leopard so we actually say żółta pantera = yellow panther along with black but I’m glad no one uses that for people.)
I also liked that Sam thought Bradley meant white people when he said Bucky’s people. I mean he wasn’t wrong since Hydra was pretty much white supremacist but still funny.
The only thing that bothered me was Bucky’s therapist forcing Sam into the session. The excuse was flimsy, the was no real indication she knows they fight all the time and the whole thing seemed to be only for that one line when Bucky admits he’s afraid Steve was wrong about him. But the execution of this was clunky and the moment with Bradley worked much better.

A Series of Firsts, pt. I (Crow x f!guardian)
Rating: T
Summary: First confessions, first drink, first kiss. All in one.
Tumblr media
It was hard to pinpoint the exact moment her perspective shifted. It was one thing to say, when you awake as a guardian, whomever you were in your past life is gone, and another to put it into practice.
Especially when you knew the person that guardian had been in the very recent past.
Especially when you were the reason that person had died.
Of all the things Crow had learned (mostly against his will) about who he was before he awoke to the Light, that was one thing she was glad he had not discovered.
Which was a whole other mess for her mind and her heart to work out. It was hard enough at the start seeing the face of the man who she had hunted, had chased over the stars with hatred in her heart and revenge in her hands. Hands that had fired the Ace of Spades into Uldren Sov until he breathed no more.
Uldren had been proud. Haughty. A prince in his status and his manner.
And now this man who wore his face was hissing at having scorched his fingertips on the crackling campfire after adding a log. He sheepishly blew on them as Glint shook his small chassis with a chiding air.
“I told you to use a smaller log.”
“By all means, show me how it is done, Sparky.”
Glint couldn’t scowl, but the way his edges tightened and he groaned said well enough that he hated the endearment.
“That’s what I thought.” Crow said with a grin, catching her eye as she watched him. The expression softened, his voice lowering, “How’s it coming?”
Right. She was supposed to be mixing up the stew. Pulled from her thoughts, she returned to stirring, mixing packets of dried vegetable and meat rations into the stock that was, in truth, mostly water. It was a typical meal for guardians on the ground. And… well, despite Zavala having learned of Crow’s real identity, it was too risky still to have him walking around the tower.
He’d needed to “get out and stretch his wings” as he called it, and so here she was. Camped out in the EDZ with the Lightbringer formerly known as Uldren Sov. The man she had killed. And now the man she was stupidly, and irreversibly already half in love with.
There had been moments. Lots of moments. Too many moments.
First she’d thought the affection stemmed from the fact he looked up to her. Just another new Lightbearer with an awed respect for the Young Wolf, Hero of the Red War, the “Chosen One”… it wasn’t like she had set out to be any of those things. She had just done what needed to be done. She recalled she told him that once and he had chuckled with such… fondness. His voice pitching low then as it did now or whenever they were alone.
Like their conversations were a secret. His words for her ears alone.
She set the pot over the flame on it’s hanger, noting that despite Glint’s criticisms, the flame was high enough and hot enough to use.
“You seem distracted tonight.” Crow said, letting his hood fall back. Even in the dark his eyes glowed faintly, the color of a sunrise.
She told herself the shiver that ran up and down her arms was from the chill in the air.
“I’ve never been a talker.” She said and settled back down next to him. It was near enough that one of them only had to reach out to touch the other. It would be too obvious to move now, she thought with a silent curse, frowning to herself.
“Is that so?” Crow said, his voice so earnest that for a moment she didn’t realize he was teasing her until she looked up and saw the faint smile on his lips.
Her traitorous heart skipped. Where was her Ghost? For that matter, where was Glint? They had both been here a moment ago.
“I thought… well… I thought maybe you were regretting bringing me along. I can’t say that last shot at the Fallen was my best moment.”
She had nearly forgotten. It was a small skirmish, something she could have easily taken solo. A Captain had swiped in close, nearly taking her arm off with his sword. Crow’s shot had missed, but it had forced the Captain back, giving her enough time to dispatch the Fallen herself. She had been surprised, but hadn’t given it more thought than that.
But now, in the dim light, she could see the same expression on Crow’s face he had worn when he came down from his perch and helped her bandage the shallow wound. It hadn’t been embarrassment, or even quite disappointment… but something else. Something deeper.
“It still saved me a very uncomfortable rez.” She said and the Crow just nodded, his brow pinched slightly as he cast his eyes aside. She turned, tilting her head to try to get back into his line of sight.
“Hey, I mean it. I would have regretted not bringing you along. This is so much better than being off on my own.”
Surprise flashed over his features, a deeper shade of indigo spreading across his cheeks. She suddenly found herself wishing a Taken portal would open up and swallow her whole. She turned away before he could see the same flush spread over her own face.
“… I agree.” Crow said and she risked another look over at him. He was smiling.
“One nice thing about being out of Spider’s lair— well, one of the nice things— I get to see you more often.”
She didn’t know what to say. The silence between them was only broken by the faint chirping of insects, the crackle of the fire and the faint bubbling sound of their dinner. Crow was looking at his hands, fidgeting with his gloves and picking at the fabric.
“Anyway. I appreciate that you humor a kinderguardian like me.” Crow began, his voice tinged with forced humor to hide the deprecation, “Letting me tag along—“
“I like it too.” She said, the words coming out so fast it came out more as “liketoo” than a comprehensive sentence.
The Crow had stopped fidgeting. The insects and the fire were overloading her senses again.
“… I really respect you. As a guardian, as a comrade. And… And I like to think of you as a friend.” Crow continued, “…and I like to think of you.”
He stopped.
“You like to think of me as—?” She prompted, breath held in her lungs.
He smiled, “That’s all. I like to think of you.”
Oh.
Oh.
Crow’s confession had brought a permanent heat to his cheeks, his expression softening as if he were marveling that he managed to even get the words out. She was marveling them too. Or more like, feeling her thoughts collapse inward on themselves like a black hole.
“What... um. What does that mean?” She said, feeling dumb and fumbling and definitely not like someone with the title of “Godslayer”.
“I… “ he began, but whatever it was that had slipped forward was beginning to retreat once more, “…well, I… it’s… just a sentiment I suppose.”
It was now or never.
“I think about you too. Often. A lot. I think about you a lot. And… I know I’m this ‘role model’ and thought of as this untouchable big damn hero and everyone— no. Look. The point is, me too.”
To his credit, the Crow listened to her outburst with quiet attentiveness, even nodding once or twice in understanding.
“It just seems impossible.” He said at last, shrugging slightly, “I can’t imagine why someone like you—”
“Don’t look at the pedestal.” She said, her voice firm, “Just look at me. C’mon, you’ve seen how I eat. I talk in my sleep too, I know I do. I never clean my guns right and I’ve had half a dozen sparrow related rezes because I’m a shitty driver.”
That last one got a laugh.
“So let’s just focus on the win here, yeah? You like me.” She waited until the Crow picked up on the prompt and he nodded, confirming it, “And I like you. Now it’s out there.”
Crow let out a breath that turned into a nervous laugh, “It’s definitely out there.”
When it became apparent neither one of them knew how to go on, there was a soft sigh from somewhere nearby. Glint and her own Ghost glided out from the trees, coming to perch near their guardians.
“And what were you two doing?” Crow said, clearly relieved for a subject change.
“Oh, just— just patrolling.” Glint said hurriedly, earning what could be imagined was a wry look from her own Ghost. He turned that look on her then as if he were exasperated with her for something.
She had a funny feeling why the pair had left them alone.
—-
A day had become a week and then a week had easily fallen into the next. Devrim had even radioed in at one point to tell them to “leave some for the rest of us” after the fourth Fallen patrol they had decimated.
They worked well together, the awkwardness of the night before fading into routine. It surprised her how natural such a foreign concept like touch was to them. A bump on the shoulder with a closed fist, a silent congratulations for a good shot. The brush of their hands when they passed ammo or a water canteen. The touch of his arm, brushing against her own perhaps every thirteenth of a second when they walked too close together.
Even at the campfire they slowly had begun to draw nearer and nearer, their orbit closing in on the other. His, with an innocent like curiosity. Her own interest decidedly less innocent, but also still— cautious. She felt the pull of his light, new and bright. Her own had not shimmered so in a long time… he was naive, young and rash. He needed looking after, not another responsibility. The point driven even further home now by the way he teetered unsteadily even sitting.
Devrim had sent a patrol over to meet them with fresh supplies. One of them being a bottle of something he called “Gulchshine” which, judging by the smell, was maybe only one molecule away from pure ethanol. Crow hadn’t drank since he was revived. Which was the same as saying he’d never drank before at all.
“This is disgusting. I can’t stop drinking it.” Crow said, his voice not so much slurred as it was relaxed. Open and unguarded.
“What is that? Is that lemon? Or is it just my taste buds dying?”
“It… definitely seems like lemon.” She said, giving a tiny sip to the cup in her own hand. There was a citrus like bite beneath the taste of rubbing alcohol, but it was not near sweet or sour enough to mask the bitterness of the clear liquid.
“Like someone whispering the word ‘lemon’ from another room.” Crow murmured and took another sip, a shudder going over him as he swallowed. He brought the bottle to his lips again and with a chuckle, she leaned nearer and said in a soft voice,
“Lemon."
Crow nearly choked on his laugh. It was a nice sound, one she didn’t hear often enough from him.
“That exactly.” He said after he’d caught his breath, turning towards her with a grin. The smile faded at the realization of how close they were. His eyes half-closed and dreamy in their regard as he lifted a hand up to brush back a strand of hair from her face.
She could smell the alcohol on his warm breath, the moss of the greenery around them, the fresh air… could feel the warmth from the Earth beneath them and from his hand on her cheek. She reached out, holding him by the chin to keep him in place as she leaned forward and pressed a kiss, as faint as the sweet taste of citrus, on his lips.
She had not expected to do that. She equally did not expect him to curl his hand behind her head and pull her in, his mouth already open for another kiss which she happily provided. Crow groaned, an involuntary and needful sound.
Desperation. She could taste it in his kiss, in the way he tentatively returned the soft touch of her tongue, inexperienced but so eager to learn. To feel. He craved it in every gasp, every pull of his fingers through her hair. He wanted to be touched— with tenderness, with kindness. His body lit with it, his breathing fast and quick and his touch edging towards rough in its eagerness. Like he couldn’t get close enough. A wanting so strong and so foreign and yet familiar. She felt him struggle with it— with his body knowing vaguely what it wanted but his mind struggling to keep up.
So she guided him. Over and over. Kissing not just his lips but the highpoint of his cheek and the juncture where his jaw met his neck. She let her teeth rasp over his pulse, thready and rapid at his throat and relished in the way he shivered. She wasn’t sure when she had been settled into his lap, only that she enjoyed the way it made her just a fraction taller.
They were wearing too many clothes. She wanted to touch him, to run her hands over every expanse of his skin until he remembered her touch more than he remembered any bullet or beam or weapon that had ever struck him. The sudden movement of her hands to the hem of his shirt had an immediate sobering effect, his body going rigid beneath her.
“… too fast.” She said, nodding half at her self. She let her hands slide back up, resting her arms around his shoulders. Crow swallowed thickly and she repressed the urge to kiss his neck all over again.
“I’ve never— I mean, not that I remember…”
It made perfect sense. His uncertainty mixed with certainty. Moments of lucidness where he no doubt remembered past lovers, past kisses, and then for them to fade like starlight from his grasp. Despite the confession, the Crow didn’t look daunted, his hands still clutching to her waist.
“Do you want to stop?” She asked, shifting her weight back.
“I…“ Crow paused, his pupils blown wide, an eclipse on a sunset sky, “… I just want to touch you. Is… is that okay?”
“That’s okay.” She said, pressing a kiss to his jaw and relishing in the way he relaxed beneath her hands. His arms held her so tightly, their ribs pressed together hard enough for there to be a faint spark of pain. She didn’t care.
His fingers had found a spot beneath her collar, seeking out the soft skin at the nape of her neck. She turned her cheek against his, pressing and rubbing her lips against him more than actually kissing. Crow seemed dazed, a soft hum coming from his throat as she felt his eyelashes brush against her skin, his eyes closing.
“Is everyone this warm?” He asked, unthinking, “Sorry— weird question.”
“Probably has something to do with the Gulchshine.”
She pulled back, placing her hands on either side of his face and noting the warmth radiating from his skin.
“You’re flushed down your neck.” She said, observing the darker blue color that bloomed out over his skin.
“I’m not that drunk.”
She rose an eyebrow.
“I didn’t say I wasn’t drunk, just not that drunk.”
“So is this for me then?”
He didn’t answer, a sputter dying in his throat as he shook his head.
“I lied. I’m drunk.”
She laughed and kissed him again, just to be sure and he breathed into it like she was the very air he needed. An arm around her waist, his hand tangled in her hair, he followed her kiss by kiss, learning his own rhythm and occasionally trying something new. Discovering how he liked to kiss her. How he liked to be kissed back. It felt important. It felt special. These things only heightening the very intimacy of the act.
She’d never felt this way just from kissing someone before. Something she imagined they had in common.
“... if I knew it felt this good, I would have done it a long time ago.”
“You really are drunk.”
He made a questioning noise, his mouth too busy testing out the way she has kissed his neck on her own. He licked a long line up to her jaw. She had definitely not shown him that.
“People are more honest when they are drunk.” She clarified, her words veering towards breathless
“Glitch might have mentioned it.”
At the mention of the ghosts, both guardians froze, eyes drifting to where the two lights were perched, watchful but silent nearby.
They had forgotten they were there.
Oh god they had forgotten they were there.
“Don’t mind us.” Her own Ghost said, voice filled with dry amusement.

So I wrote a one shot. I watched the film 10 Years a few days ago and it inspired me to write a Star Wars version 🤣 it just focuses on Poe though let’s face it. This is me after all! Poe Dameron lover forever! I didn’t even name it anything interesting.
Yavin High Reunion.

You straightened your dress as you got out of the cab, passing money to the driver before turning to look down the high street of your old town. The sky was dark and the shops you had haunted most of your youth were lit by the garish orange street lamps, you smiled slightly as echoes of memories came to you. You had lived in this high street, spending holidays, or a few hours here and there after school, you could always be found here with your friends. But this was the first time you’d seen it since you left when you were 18.
You were late with everyone inside already, just the way you wanted. You placed a hand on your stomach as you breathed deeply trying to control the butterflies that fluttered manically inside you. As soon as High School had finished you left, the only person you really stayed in touch with was your best friend Jess. She had kept you up to date with what everyone else in your group of friends had been doing and you went through stages of missing them, longing for the summer days where you all hung out at the beach, eating picnics, barbecues and getting drunk as the sun finally set.
You closed your eyes briefly before turning to look at the hotel where the reunion was taking place. The grey bricks gave the impression it was a lot fancier than it looked but this hotel hadn’t changed on the outside at all. Music and laughter floated out of the open windows above you and again your stomach cramped nervously. Your last year at school had been a difficult one and you were ashamed with how you dealt with what happened….Jess had said he was coming and really he was the only reason you had come. Steeling yourself you finally took the last steps towards the entrance of the hotel pushing the door open and letting the warm air wash over you.
The foyer was empty, you wrote your name on a sticker and placed it gently on your dress, you could see some class mates had scribbled in the memory book already and you smiled slightly as you read it realising that no one had really grown up in 10 years. Stands displaying photos stood behind the desk and you made a note to come and look at those later. You saw a camera but no camera man and you wondered if that was better, you were leaving straight after this anyway. Your heels rang out on the stairs as you made your way towards the noise of the reunion.
As soon as you opened the door you felt overwhelmed, the beat from the music thrummed through you and you instantly headed towards the bar ordering a double gin and tonic to calm your nerves. You surveyed your surroundings, it had been decorated with the school colours and you winced at the mix of orange, white, red and black realising how much you hated the colours together. You took your glass as your eyes searched the crowd trying to find a face you recognised, well you knew most of them, older but you knew them as they danced smiling at one another. You spied another room and you hoped there was food in that one, you made your way round the edge of the room quickly slipping into the larger room. This room was quieter, long tables laid out with hot plates of food and round tables that were littered with little pockets of people as they caught up.
Some double doors lead outside onto a balcony and you saw the crowd standing out there, you’d never really mixed with them at school but one caught your attention. From where you were standing you could see him perfectly as he lounged on the sofa, his long legs taking up so much room, he looked smart in his suit his long dark hair hadn’t changed in the passing years but he had a serious look on his expression, gone were smiles he used to have at school. You froze as his hazel eyes caught sight of you and he tipped his head slightly in recognition. Kylo Ren had been the one you turned to all those years ago, he had been the one to drive you to the airport even giving you money and helping you get a job so you could flee. You thought about going over but then the blonde head of Phasma came into view as she laid herself all over him and you quickly moved out of sight. Not much had changed in 10 years at all. You felt sad and you debated leaving as you lost your appetite when all of a sudden you were grabbed. You grinned as her dark hair fell all over your face and she squealed loudly in your ear making you grimace in pain .
‘Jess! Ouch!’
‘Oh my god you came!!’ She almost screamed at you .
‘Yes yes! I told you I would!’ She grabbed you for another hug and you squeezed her back, oh how you had missed her! Video calls had nothing on giving your friend a solid hug in person. ‘Where is everyone else?’ You heard yourself ask and she smirked knowing you weren’t really bothered about everyone else. You just wanted to see him.
‘There’s another room, this one has desserts in so clearly we camped in there,’ she winked and you smiled back but your stomach just went into overdrive as she led you back into the bar and across the dance floor. Of course they were in the dessert room, he had such a sweet tooth. You saw them straight away and a wave of people rose to greet you, Finn was first lifting you off the floor as he squeezed the air out of your chest, then Rose and her sister Paige.
‘Aren’t you too old to be here?’ You whispered to her and she laughed.
‘I snuck in no one saw me,’ she winked and let Snap spin you into a dizzying embrace, he gave you a kiss on the cheek before letting your feet touch the floor again. Next you were embraced by his wife Kare, followed by the clowns of the group Beaumont and Ronith. The group parted as they all sat back down and your breath was taken from you as you laid eyes on the love of your life for the first time in so long. Everything melted away as his intense brown eyes blazed into yours, his curls a dark unruly mess on top of his head and you saw he still wore his Dad’s leather jacket; it just fitted him now, perfectly. He rested one leg on his knee, one of his arms was draped over an empty chair and he didn’t get up to greet you. You swallowed plastering a smile on your face and you felt eternally grateful to Jess as she dragged you over the tables to look at the cakes. But you couldn’t see them, your vision swam and you tried desperately to compose yourself.
‘Well, that was intense,’ Jess mumbled as she passed you a plate. You jumped slightly as you heard his rich laugh rise up from the group, you didn’t know you were going to feel this so strongly, the guilt ripped through you and now you really wished you hadn’t come.
‘He hates me,’ you whispered mindlessly spooning some chocolate cake onto your plate.
‘He doesn’t…’
‘Well he should,’ you snapped softly. You slowly walked back to the table with her heading for the empty chair next to Snap but Jess was just a step ahead of you leaving the only chair available was the one Poe had his arm thrown possessively over.
‘C-can I sit here?’ You were acutely aware the group was watching you both as they talked extra loudly trying to cover up the tension. He moved his arm and you slipped into the chair moving it into the table and slightly away from him. You were immediately pulled into the conversation as Beaumont started recounting some funny drunk story and finally you felt yourself relax but only slightly. Your skin tingled every time he spoke or joined it but it was never directly to you and you desperately tried to ignore that.
‘Oh god and then there was prom!’ Ronith blurted out and you instantly felt Poe tense up. A buzzing noise started in your ears as everything drained away, the memory replaying like it was yesterday in your mind.
You looked at yourself in the mirror, your hair looked amazing, your makeup was perfect and your dress was stunning hugging you in all the right places. You looked up at the knock on the door and you knew it was Poe, you bit your lip as you stood at the top of the stairs, your Dad letting him in. You couldn’t hear what they were saying but you didn’t care as Poe caught sight of you. His jaw went slack and his brown eyes widened as he swallowed nervously, your eyes raked over his outfit and his navy suit matched your dress perfectly. You slowly made your way down your hand dragging lightly on the banister until he stepped round your Dad a lopsided smile now spreading over his face as he offered you his arm.
‘You look stunning my love,’ he murmured before shooting a nervous glance at your Dad.
‘The limo is here!’ Called your mum and you both stepped outside, your parents took so many photos you tried to hurry them up but Poe was loving it. His eyes barely left you and neither did his hands, until the glare of blue lights chased away the descending darkness. You all frowned as an officer got out of the car along with Poe’s father, you knew something was instantly wrong by the look on Kes’s face.
‘Can we talk inside?’ The officer asked and your parents ushered you all inside. You had sat next to Poe holding his hand when they broke the news to him that his mother had died in a car crash, she was driving back from work hoping to catch him before he left for prom but she never made it. In that moment you had seen him break, completely fall apart before your very eyes and there was nothing you could do to help him. Shara had been a wonderful person and you adored Poe’s parents having grown up in their house as a second home. Seeing his pain had damaged something inside you and all you could think about was running away.
‘Am I right? You two,’ your eyes rose as he gestured to you both of you, ‘must have had a great time at prom we barely saw you…’ Snap punched Beaumont on the shoulder as silence settled on the table. You and Poe had never made it to prom, instead heading to the hospital so he could say a final goodbye. You got up, fumbling a quiet excuse as you hurried away from the group. You needed out, the noise cascaded over you from the bar and you could feel yourself panicking as you raced down the large staircase to head outside to the gardens. They were only small but you found a bench tucked away and you finally allowed yourself to feel. Tears slid down your face as you silently cried. You remembered everything, all the promises you made him saying you’d be there and help him through his pain but really you should have looked to yours. You didn’t even attend her funeral, turning to Kylo Ren of all people. His parents own a huge company and they got you a job in England, an apprenticeship and you took it, fleeing your old life and falling head first into a new one. Poe had every right to hate you, you hated yourself enough, hated for running out as soon as you could.
You had tried to forget Poe in England and for a time you did, you fell for someone and he swept you off your feet and you got married. But the cracks that started off tiny just got bigger and one of the last things he said to you was your heart clearly wasn’t in it. And it wasn’t, you’d left your heart here with Poe you just didn’t want to acknowledge it. You blotted your eyes trying to gather up the courage to go back inside when someone materialised out of the shadows, his hands in his pockets as he stood a few paces away from you.
‘Hi,’ he said as he stood awkwardly. You slid across the bench silently inviting him to sit with you and he did.
‘Hi,’ you whispered, clasping your hands in your lap as you turned to face him. ‘Poe…’ he shook his head interrupting you.
‘Let’s not,’ he looked up at the sky. ‘Let’s not drag that up.’
‘Good idea.’ You both sat together falling into a familiar silence but not really looking at each other until he spoke again.
‘So you went to England? Jess said…’
‘Yeah, I quite like it over there.’ He smirked slightly.
‘You have an accent.’
‘Poe Dameron I do not!’ His smile got wider as he ran a hand through his curls, a motion you had adored in High School and still did it seemed.
‘It’s cute.’ You swallowed as the butterflies restarted in your stomach and you tried to find anything else to talk about.
‘So what about you? What do you do now?’
‘I followed Dad didn’t I, became a mechanic but I work on planes rather than cars.’
‘Wow that’s impressive,’ you fiddled with the material of your dress as the next question fell from your mouth and even to your ears it sounded strained. ‘Got a wife?’ He looked down at his shoes as he shuffled them in the dirt.
‘Nope, apparently my heart wasn’t in it,’ he said bitterly and you froze hearing those words again, letting out a shaky laugh as he looked at you.
‘Well I’ve been told the exact same thing,’ he frowned as you glanced at him quickly. ‘My hus….ex husband said the same thing to me and he was right.’
‘Husband….you got married?’ You could hear the hurt in his voice and you felt the well of sadness threaten to rise inside you again.
‘Not that it worked out. I left my heart here anyway.’ He opened his mouth to reply when a shout caught both your attention, it was Snap.
‘Guys! We’re heading to Maz’s place, you coming?’
‘Yeah sure,’ you coursed together. ‘Though I want to look at the photos before we go.’ You smiled slightly at him as you stood.
‘Come on then.’ You followed him back inside and you joined Jess at a photo of the pair of you.
‘You ok?’ She asked quietly as she pointed out one of Poe and Snap looking all fresh faced and happy.
‘Yeah I’m ok,’ you replied. You paused at a photo of you all, Poe was standing next to you and he was looking down at you as you smiled at the camera.
How different your life would have been if you’d just stayed, but you had come across Kylo one night at the beach. About 1am in the morning and even though you weren’t what you would call friends you had been so desperate to talk to someone you had spilled everything to him and he gave you the way out you so desperately craved. You looked up as Poe came up behind you.
‘Come on, let’s get drunk,’ he suggested. ‘It will be like the old days,’ he said as he nudged you in a playful way. You went to step away when his hand caught your arm and he held you back from the group. ‘For the record, your ex husband doesn’t know what he’s losing,’ your breath hitched as his warm hand slid up your neck and he planted a kiss against your cheek, his stubble rubbing against you slightly before moving away and you fell into step beside him.
You noticed how suddenly the dynamic had changed between you, now he wanted to sit next to you, he followed you, his hand lightly touching you now and again as he spoke to you. You tried not to think about the way his body pressed against you as you all squeezed into two cars, the scent rolling off his leather was undeniably Poe and it made you swoon slightly. Finally spilling out of the car you gulped in some fresh air trying to curb the feelings you had creeping up on you.
The bar was exactly how you remembered it, dingy and dark perfect for making out in without getting caught. Your eyes were drawn to a booth in the corner and Poe saw you looking.
‘You remember?’ He murmured.
‘Of course I remember,’ you whispered in reply looking up at him. It had been the first place you’d kissed and right now you felt exactly as you did then as you caught up in his eyes, his scent, his expression.
‘Guys! Shots!’ You dragged your gaze away from the man next to you as you grabbed a glass off the bar, all downing the burning liquid before Jess gestured for another lot. You ordered a gin and tonic and took the glasses over to the empty booth, you slipped in and Poe slid in next to you. The rest joined and you couldn’t help the little flutter in your chest as he brushed up against you when he took his leather jacket off, his white shirt top buttons were undone and you caught sight of a necklace. Poe had never been one for jewellery and you pointed feeling curious.
‘What’s this?’ He pulled the chain out and you recognised the silver ring instantly. ‘It’s Shara’s.’ He smiled and let you take it in your hands, turning it over with your fingers as you felt how warm it was from being against his chest.
‘Pack it in you two! I want to hear all about England!’ You let the ring drop and your eyes flew to Poe’s in panic. You hadn’t told any of them except Jess you were married and you had only just told Poe you were divorcing.
‘Let’s get another round in,’ Poe said loudly trying to draw attention off of you but Kare was relentless.
‘Sure sure get some drinks, but I want to hear about it, you’ve been out there for 10 years not even heard a peep from you. What’s so captivating over there?’
‘Oh you know, I’ve just been working hard, I was offered an opportunity and I couldn’t pass it up.’ You rubbed your arm feeling a chill as Poe got up from the table, Snap going with him to the bar.
‘Doing what?’ You shifted uncomfortably as you looked at your friends faces.
‘Well, I help run the British side of the Alderaan Haulage company.’
‘Wait wait,’ said Beaumont holding his hands up. ‘You work for Kylo Ren?’ You could feel the blush creeping over your cheeks as Poe started heading back to the table.
‘He made me an offer I couldn’t refuse,’ you said trying to keep your voice low.
‘Is he still as much of a douche as he was at school?’ Poe’s attention snapped to the table at Ronith’s very loud question and you felt yourself die inside a little bit.
‘I don’t have any problems with him,’ you said shrugging.
‘But then he left you alone at school,’ sneered Kare. ‘He had a crush on you soooo bad,’ said Jess.
‘Who are we talking about?’ Said Poe as he slipped a drink over to you and sat back next to you, his shoulder nudging yours.
‘Kylo Ren,’ said Kare as Snap sat down gently beside her. ‘He had a crush on the traitor here.’
‘Guys that’s my boss you’re talking about and he just walked in,’ you hissed, sinking into your seat slightly as Poe flung a possessive arm around your shoulders. You felt surprised as the sudden obvious contact and you saw Jess smirk as she sipped her drink.
You all watched as the crowd piled in, they had been the popular cool kids at school, Kylo with his rich parents had ruled the year, Armitage Hux was still hanging onto his every word, Phasma still shamelessly thirsting after him. Then there were the guys, you and your friends had called them the Knights as they always surrounded Kylo like a beefy entourage, as if he needed protecting. Kylo clocked you before they swarmed the bar and you did a stupid hand wave in acknowledgement.
‘That was embarrassing for you,’ sniggered Jess as they all started laughing into their drinks.
‘Laugh it up fuzzballs! I bet I’m making more money than all of you combined!’ Thankfully that started a new debate and you sat back into Poe’s side as you let them argue. You shivered as his hand gently brushed up your arm, you were sure he didn’t even know he was doing it but you didn’t mind. You had daydreamed so much over the last few years and every time you hit a low point, memories of Poe had helped you through. Your phone buzzed and you cursed as the name came up on the screen.
‘I need to take this,’ you mumbled, climbing over Poe not even getting to enjoy the way his hands helped you out as all you could think about is why he was ringing now.
‘Hello?’
‘Mummy?’ You instantly grinned hearing your daughter's little voice.
‘Hey baby, you ok?’
‘Yeah,’ your 4 year old daughter's voice brought tears to your eyes and you remembered why you had hesitated in coming. ‘Just missing you mummy.’
‘I’ll be home in a couple of days baby. Is daddy being good?’
‘Nope, he won’t let me eat chocolate before bed.’
‘Well that’s good…’
‘Mummy...bye.’
‘Bye baby…’ you heard some rustling on the other end of the line and you frowned as you heard your ex husband speak.
‘So when will you be back?’ He demanded.
‘Well my flights in just over 24 hours then I’ll be home soon after that.’
‘I don’t see why you had to go…’
‘Yeah well maybe I needed a break from it all,’ you snapped, already feeling weary from talking to him.
‘I’ve got papers for you to sign.’
‘Can we talk about this when I get back? And not in front of Flick?’ You looked up at the night sky blinking back tears, fed up with the fights, the paperwork and hiding it all from your daughter as best you could. For now anyway.
‘Say goodnight to mummy it’s dark over there…’ you grinned at your daughters sing song voice before wishing her a goodnight and putting the phone down.
‘You ok?’ You wiped your eyes hurriedly as Poe stood by the door to the bar.
‘Yeah I’ll be in a minute.’ But he came up to you, pulling your hands away from your face.
‘I know you. I know when you’re upset. What did he say?’ You could hear a hint of annoyance in his tone and it warmed you inside that he still felt protective over you.
‘Not much, he was just reminding me I have papers to sign and letting our daughter say goodnight to me,’ the words left your mouth before you could think of what you were saying, not that you were ashamed of your child but you just wanted to have a night and be that person you’d been 10 years ago, now you thought with a heavy heart, Poe would look at you differently.
‘A daughter?’ His voice was monotone almost like he was trying to cover up his shock.
‘Yeah, maybe I should have brought her up before, I don’t know I just wanted to be me for a night.’
‘And you flew all the way out here to do it?’ He asked.
‘It’s been hell,’ you stated simply. You took a shuddery breath trying to quell the rising storm inside you but you felt Poe was the one person you could really be yourself around and at a touch of his hand your barriers fell. He pulled you to him and you cried loudly into his shirt, you hated this and you wished you’d never come but you so desperately needed to escape your situation at home even if it was just for a few days. You felt confused as you clutched Poe’s shirt and he just held you, ever dependable Poe. You pulled away not wanting to rely on him like this.
‘I’m ok, I just need to compose myself,’ you said sniffing.
‘Do you want to get out of here?’ He asked his voice slightly husky as he looked down at you.
‘Yeah I should probably find a motel or something.’
‘Come back to mine, I’ve got a spare room. You’re not here for long, call me selfish but we have some catching up to do. I want to spend time with just you.’ You looked at him, you wanted to, oh god you wanted to go. Your brain said no but your heart said yes and today your heart won.
‘Sure, I’d like that.’
‘Let me get my jacket, stay here. I’ll be subtle.’ He planted a kiss on your head and you closed your eyes still warring with yourself. You told yourself you deserved this, even if a small voice at the back of your mind said you were going to break his heart all over again. He returned within minutes, his hand firmly pressing against the small of your back as he led you away from the bar. ‘Jess clocked me,’ he said just as the door opened. He grabbed you as he darted down an alleyway, he clutched you to him tightly as he peered round the corner. ‘She’s looking for us,’ he whispered and you couldn’t help but grin remembering you used to this back when you were dating. He looked down at you, his hand coming up, brushing the hair over your shoulder before gently swiping your cheek, his thumb trailed softly over your bottom lip and you ran it through your teeth as he tickled you.
You gasped as his lips connected with yours, the kiss was quick as he pulled away seeing your reaction. Your brain froze as long gone feelings rushed to the forefront.
‘I can’t….I only have tonight. I have to go back…’ you whispered feeling sad that you couldn’t just get lost in his arms without hurting him. He rested against the wall with a sigh as he thought about what you said, his curls flopping over his forehead in the way you loved so much.
‘What if we just take tonight. Don’t think ahead, let’s just have tonight.’ His voice was low and you heard the edge of need in his tone stoking the fire inside you.
‘Just tonight…’ you whispered as his hand wrapped around the base of your neck pulling you to him but he paused, his eyes looking deeply into yours as his lips brushed you gently.
‘Just tonight,’ he whispered back. He pulled away dragging you into the night.
Once you were inside his house you felt nervous, like a teenager and your parents were away but they had expressly said no partners. Yet you broke the rules anyway. That’s exactly how you felt, the air of anticipation surrounded you both as you silently slipped your shoes off at the front door. His house was homely, slightly messy but you didn’t care, grinning as he grabbed some stuff to throw in the washing machine.
‘I’m sorry I wasn’t expecting visitors.’
‘You were never the tidiest person,’ you said following him into the kitchen and you couldn’t help the smile spreading over your face at the noise of indignation he made.
‘I am an adult! I can live how I like!’ You laughed remembering his Dad used to say that.
‘When you grow up you can live how you like, but until then! It’s my rules!’ You both descended into laughter as you finished off Kes’s phrase. He opened the fridge and pulled out some bottles.
‘What would you prefer, cider or beer?’
‘Ooh cider!’
‘Think fast!’ Your hand shot out as he threw the bottle at you and thankfully you caught it.
‘Poe Dameron! I was not ready!’ You said punching him gently on the shoulder, he held out his bottle and you took it automatically snapping the metal cap off with your teeth.
‘I’m glad that never changed,’ he said before taking a swig, his dark eyes trained on you. You snapped the cap off your bottle and took a sip feeling the cool fruity liquid flood your mouth. You were going to have a headache tomorrow.
‘Can I have a snoop?’ He shrugged and you slowly made your way to the living room. It was clear only Poe had lived here, you paused at the sofa, your fingers threading into the blanket thrown over the back. You recognised it instantly, your nan had taught you how to crochet and you had made a blanket with orange and white colours to create some circular patterns. You had been so shy giving it to him sure he was going to think it was stupid but he took it giving you a hug and saying thanks. And here it was 15 years later on the back of his sofa.
‘Poe..’ you looked at him leaning on the doorframe as he watched you.
‘It was all I had of you after you left.’ You took a steady breath at the sadness lacing his tone as you fisted your hand into the blanket. You took a long drink out of your bottle hoping to fight back the tears as you chucked your head back, the bubbles danced on your tongue and you tried to concentrate on that sensation but you could feel him behind you.
His hand took the bottle from your grasp and you let it slide from your fingers as you watched him over your shoulder. Next he removed your coat softly dragging it down your arms and you got goosebumps as his fingers trailed over your skin. He gently brushed your hair to the side and you had to bite your lip as he kissed the hollow in your neck. His hand tracked down your body as you leaned into him, resting your head on his shoulder. You stayed like that for a moment as his arms tightened around you and he breathed softly against your neck, his nose buried in your hair. You could feel the tension building inside you and you shifted against him, biting your lip again when you felt how hard he was through his trousers already.
You could feel your heart racing as you spun in his embrace, you could feel the edge of the sofa digging into your lower back as he pressed into you. You slipped your hands into his leather jacket, teasing it off his shoulders and laying it down over the sofa. His hands went back to your hips and his eyes roamed over your face, your chest heaved as you studied his face. A face you had desperately missed, you slowly traced his lips with your finger and his eyes glowered at you with a smouldering heat.
‘I’ve missed these,’ you whispered gently brushing his soft curls away from his eyes and he leaned into your touch.
‘I have missed you. More than you realise.’
‘Show me,’ you whispered. ‘Show me how much you've missed me.’ His lips were on you in a second, his tongue in your mouth as he pressed up against you. The kiss was fierce, full of hunger and need as his lips caressed yours, his tongue possessing your mouth in a way that left you dizzy and wanting air. Your body trembled as you pulled at his top and he tugged at your dress straps, you pulled your arms out pushing it down to expose your breasts and the smoulder in his eyes made you press your thighs together in anticipation. A fire had awoken inside you, a fire only Poe could create. It felt like his hands were everywhere at once and you groaned loudly as he sucked on your neck, kissing that spot that only he had been able to find. You pulled your dress up your thighs and wrapped your legs around his hips pulling him closer as you leaned back slightly. His hands supported your back as his mouth trailed searing hot kisses along your exposed collarbone and you worked his shirt out of his trousers, sliding your hands up his toned back. You moaned as he stepped away, his hair disheveled from your fingers, his lips red where he had kissed you hard, his eyes glittering with heat and his chest heaved as he tried to steady himself.
He pulled on your hand and you slowly followed him as he led you upstairs, he looked back giving you that lopsided smile that was always full of unspoken promises. He pulled you to him, kissing you gently as he backed into the bedroom, he turned and shoved you onto the bed and you watched with hooded eyes as he undid the buttons on his shirt, pulling it apart before he crawled between your legs, which you opened to accommodate him. His hand slid up your body, trailed up your neck and he pulled you to him for another kiss. You pulled on him and slowly he lowered his body onto yours, his skin warm to the touch and you rolled your hips into his eliciting a groan from him.
‘Baby you’re so needy,’ he whispered as his hand slowly trailed up your inner thigh, gently brushing your underwear and you almost whimpered in desperation for him to touch you. He hooked a finger in the band and began to shimmy them down your legs, leaving a line of wet kisses down your leg as he did. You were so consumed by your need for him everything else flew from your mind as he grabbed your thighs and pulled them apart. The cold air teased your wet core and you weren’t even ashamed with how wet you were, your hips bucked as he ghosted a hand over your bundle of nerves. ‘Patience.’ His brown eyes raked down your hot and bothered body before he dipped down, his face pressed into your inner thigh and you wound your fingers into his curls. You gasped, your eyes closing tightly as his tongue licked up your wet slit, your back arched as you felt a finger nudge at your entrance. ‘You are so wet,’ he murmured with a moan as he pushed a finger inside you.
‘More!’ You gasped and he obliged with another finger stretching you slightly but you wanted even more. You groaned as you tossed your head to the side just concentrating on the sensations he was giving you and the third finger that stretched you perfectly. A groan ripped from your chest as he gently swiped a thumb over your clit.
‘God, you make the best noises,’ moaned as his head dipped down again and you tightened your grip on his curls as he began to suck on you. His fingers dragged in and out of you causing cries of pleasure to bubble up from inside you. Your orgasm came at you in a rush, pleasure flooding your body as you tensed around him, you could feel just one more suck, one more motion and he’d have you tipping over the edge. Your legs shook and your mouth opened wide as the tidal wave of pleasure rocked your core, it spread through you and momentarily you didn’t know where you were, just lost in the wave of pleasure as it swept you away. You hummed as finally your legs relaxed, he crawled his way up you, kissing you as he shed his shirt and trousers in a rush. You wiggled your hips at the feel of his hardness against you burning the skin of your inner thigh, slowly he entered you and you both groaned at the sensation as he pushed into you. You were both so wet he slid in easily, slotting against you like he was made for you. His hands swiped the hair off your face as he kissed you deeply, his hips finally moving as he settled into a steady rhythm. You zoned out to the noises he made, the way his chain jingled against you both, the little huffs and groans he made when you wiggled a certain way had you moving closer to a second orgasm quicker than you’d like. His face buried in your neck and you felt him falter slightly against you and you knew he was close. You slipped a hand between you gently rubbing your clit, his eyes met yours as he quickened the pace. ‘I’m so c-close,’ he stuttered.
‘Mmmm let go!’ He pressed his forehead against you as he pumped into you, bringing you both over the threshold, your cries mingling together as you both released at the same time. He sagged against you kissing you lazily as you both rested in the post orgasmic bubble with each other. You wrapped your arms around each other, enjoying the company but as the feelings trickled away from you both cold realisation set in that this wouldn’t last for much longer.
‘Poe…’ but he stopped you with a hand over your mouth.
‘You promised me,’ he kissed your cheek. ‘An entire,’ he kissed your other cheek. ‘Night.’
‘We best carry on then,’ you whispered as a smile crept over your face.
‘Have you got anymore in you baby?’ Before he could react you flipped him onto his back.
‘You have no idea,’ you said as you nudged his face with your nose kissing him gently.
‘Promises…’ he murmured.
You stood by the edge of the bed looking down at him still sleeping. As you had predicted you had a headache but what did you expect from mixing your drinks. You knelt down next to the bed, not wanting to wake him but not wanting to leave without saying goodbye either, not again.
‘Poe…’ you nudged him slightly. ‘Poe….’ He groaned one eye opening sleepily.
‘Is it time?’ You smiled to try and cover the tears that were threatening to well up in your eyes and you nodded. He looked at you for a moment before pulling you to him and whispering in your ear as he embraced you. ‘We said, just tonight.’
‘I know I know!’ He pulled back slightly kissing everywhere he could reach as he held your face. The tears fell silently as you kissed him back before getting up, time was marching on and you couldn’t afford to miss your flight. ‘I have to go...my flight.’
‘Let me walk you out.’ His fingertips were touching you the whole time until you were at the door when he kissed you. His tongue swiping your lips as he kissed you deeply, you felt the wall behind you as he tried to press as much of himself against you as much as possible and you tried desperately not to cry into his mouth. You felt awful, walking away yet again leaving him standing here alone. ‘I don’t hold it against you,’ he murmured as he tucked your hair behind your ear. ‘If I could have left 10 years ago, I would have.’ You cleared your throat before you spoke.
‘But I should have stayed…’
‘No. You did the right thing, I didn’t think so at the time but for you, maybe for both of us. It was the right thing.’ He lifted your head, your eyes locking with his.
‘But the life we could…’ he shrugged. His muscles rippling under his smooth skin as he held your chin.
‘So what? Don’t dwell on the past, it could have been a really great life or we could have ended up hating each other.’
‘But I love you…’ a sob gripped your throat and you fell against him wishing you didn’t have to leave, not knowing when you could come back.
‘I love you too, I always have and I always will, but.’ He placed his hands on your shoulders pushing you away as he swallowed harshly. ‘We said. Just tonight. You have to go back.’ You nodded miserably, he was right you did have to go back.
He opened the door and stepped away from you leaving you no choice but to head outside, your taxi chose that moment to pull up with a squeal of its brakes. ‘Your taxi is here.’ You nodded sniffing slightly as you looked at him.
‘Bye Poe,’ it was barely a whisper like you didn’t want to say it but you had to struggle out the goodbye this time. You owed him that.
‘Goodbye, my love.’ It took all your effort to compose yourself at the use of his old nickname for you, it was his way of saying he’d keep you close to him always and forever. As the taxi drove away you didn’t look back, you couldn’t or you’d break down, shriek at the taxi to stop, fall back into his arms and you’d never find the strength to go back to England. You pulled your phone out with shaky hands and looked at the photo of your daughter smiling up at you. You were going home for her. The streets turned into a blur around you as the taxi sped you away, back to your life and tearing you away from the one you wanted.
You opened your eyes as the weak sunlight streamed through your curtains highlighting the cardboard boxes stacked up in your room. It had been over a month since you’d got back from America and things had moved quickly, the papers were signed, the house was sold and you bought a small two bed for you and Felicity. She was with her father this weekend and in all honesty you hated when she left. You walked through the house in your baggy t-shirt cursing softly as you stubbed your toe on another box in the hallway, hopping the last few steps you managed to ease yourself into your chair and woke your computer up. With a sigh you checked your emails annoyed to see you had nothing to attend to at this ungodly hour on a Sunday. You slumped at your desk, laying your head on the table trying not to get sucked into the swirling whirlpool of dark thoughts that struck you whenever you were on your own, threatening to pull you in the murky depths of hopelessness. A ping made you sit up and you saw Kylo had sent you an email. Finally, you thought, something to do! But you paused at the words on the email.
You have this week off. Enjoy.
Regards
Kylo
You stared at the email, you didn’t book time off? You’d been working 7 days a week almost every week since you got back. Furiously you shot an email back saying he must have made a mistake but the response was almost immediate.
I do not make mistakes. Don’t make me change my mind.
Kylo
You sat back in your chair frowning, you had nothing coming up, no one's birthdays, it wasn’t Easter or Christmas, no school holidays….your mind spun wildly as you entered the kitchen putting the coffee machine on. You really had no idea why Kylo would give you this week off, maybe he was rewarding your hard work but it was so out of character for him.
You swiftly grabbed your coffee as a knock sounded at the door, you quickly ran a hand through your hair but you just successfully made it worse. You pulled the door open expecting to see you ex bringing your daughter home early but your eyes were playing tricks on you. Shock held you rigid, your fingers gripping harshly to the door but you didn’t register the pain shooting down your arm. You had no words as you blinked stupidly at the person before you all coherent thought leaving your brain as he grinned at your reaction.
‘My love, are you going to let me in?’
‘I — I, yes…..’ you finally managed to step aside noting the large bag on his back as he gently prised your fingers off the door closing it softly behind him. You still couldn’t process he was really here as he leaned against the door, his eyes heavy and weary after the long journey. ‘Here.’ You held out the coffee and he took it, his eyes darting behind you.
‘Is she here?’ You shook your head, your heart beating erratically in your chest as he took a step towards you. ‘So I can do this?’ He whispered as his hand slipped round your waist, pulling you towards him he kissed you deeply. You pushed away, your hand flying to your tingling lips as you stared wide eyed at him.
‘You’re here.’
‘I am, sorry it took me so long selling the house was a pain and convincing Dad this was the right choice…’
‘You’re moving here? For good?’ He turned to look at you, his dark eyes hesitant.
‘I can buy my own place until you’re ready..’
‘No.’ You grinned, a stupidly big grin as you stared at Poe Dameron in your hallway, in England. ‘You move in here, we have wasted enough time.’
‘Only if you’re sure?’
‘Of course I’m sure. Holy fuck you’re actually here?’ You let out a short laugh in disbelief.
‘Tired, but I’m actually here.’
‘Jess told you where I was didn’t she?’
‘For once, yes she did.’ He held up a hand moving towards the front door. ‘I brought some extra gifts.’ Loud shouts erupted from outside as you saw all your friends standing on your doorstep. Tears filled your eyes as you greeted them all.
This is what you’d wanted, your friends and the man you had loved your whole life in your life always. Bet you’re glad you went to that reunion now.

“Natural” - Chapter 13 - Embry Call x Reader
Tumblr media
Movie Night
Waking up in the morning with Embry in my bed was a level of comfort and serenity that I don’t think I could ever describe. I look over at his peaceful form, the sun shining in through the fold in the curtain.
I watch as his chest rises up and down, his slow, peaceful breathing accompanied by a very light snore. His black hair falling over his face that’s nuzzled deep into my pillow. His warm, russet skin shining in the sun beams. His warmth radiating against my colder skin.
“Good morning.” His raspy voice mumbles against the pillow.
“Good morning, Em.” I whisper.
“What’re you looking at, beautiful?” He smirks.
“Just you.” I blush.
I don’t honestly believe that this is something I’ll ever get used to. Embry, and everything about him, felt like an absolute blessing. It felt surreal, really.
“Awe, bean. You’re cute when you blush.”
“Stop.” I whine, slightly giggling.
“No, I like it. It’s cute.” He sits up, wrapping his arms around me.
“I mean, thank you.” I look down at my hands.
“So, I was thinking.” Embry begins.
“That’s a first.” I tease, poking his nose.
“Hah hah, very funny. Anyway, what if we went camping? Now that I won’t have to be here for patrol tonight or tomorrow. We can leave today and spend a night out, and come home for tomorrow. Then you can see your friend and Leah.” His vibrant smile beaming brighter than the sunlight.
“I would love that. We can start packing now.” I shriek, having a difficult time to contain my excitement.
“Of course.” He smiles, leaving a kiss on my lips.
I practically spring up from my bed and begin packing my backpack full of any clothes I would need for tonight and tomorrow. I put on a pair of jeans and throw on a t-shirt.
“Someone’s excited.” Embry chuckles.
“We’ve always talked about camping together, and now we can.” I turn around, smiling.
“I know, I’m so excited to go with you.” He smiles, pulling me close to him.
His hands grab my hips, driving me nuts as usual. I trace my fingers up his biceps until my arms wrap around his neck, pulling myself up to kiss his soft lips once again. His hands tighten their grip on my hips as he deepens the kiss.
“We have to finish packing.” He pulls away breathlessly.
“That we do.” I shake my head.
“We can continue that later tonight.” He gives me a cheeky smirk.
I nod as my cheeks are deepening to another shade of red.
I grab some blankets, pillows, and search for sleeping bags in the closet downstairs.
We pack some food for the small trip before heading over to Embry’s house to pick up his tent and clothes for him to wear.
I look around for Tiffany while we were here, alas she had to have been working.
“Have you talked to her the last few days or have you been completely MIA?” I ask as he packs a backpack for himself.
“She thought I was camping with everyone. We’re in contact.” He looks back at me.
“Good. I don’t want her to worry herself to death.” I smile at him.
“Me neither.” He sighs.
We make our way back to my car and he leads the way to a site of his choice.
“I’ll give it to you, Em. You know these woods better than anyone else.” I chuckle.
“I know, I’m basically a map now.” He laughs, pointing in the direction to turn.
I follow his navigation and after an hour or so of driving, we eventually make it to a trail leading to a clearing, thankfully a bathroom within walking distance.
We grab all of our stuff and begin our journey to the clearing. Embry and I set up the tent relatively quickly.
“I’m hungry.” Embry whines.
“You’re always hungry.” I giggle.
“Yeah, and?” He laughs.
“So let’s eat.” I smile, reaching into the food we packed.
I felt my phone vibrate in my back pocket. I pull it out to see a text from Alyssa.
“Hey (Y/N), are you free tomorrow?” - Alyssa
“Yes I am. Do you wanna come over for a pizza and movie night?” - me
“Sure, sounds good. Should I bring anything?” - Alyssa
“Nope. I can invite my friends, too. If you’d like. :)” - me
“That sounds fun.” - Alyssa
“Okay, come for like 6.”
“Sounds like a plan.”
I place the phone back in my pocket after sending her my address and take a sip of water.
“We should invite everyone over tomorrow at seven. I told Alyssa there would be a pizza and movie night at my house, but she’s coming at six.”
“Sounds fun, I’ll send a text in the group chat.” He says, pulling his phone out.
“Great.” I smile.
We finished eating and cleaned everything up.
“Can we go on a hike?” I ask.
“Of course, beautiful.” His large hand reaches out for mine, pulling me off the stump I sat on.
I follow Embry’s lead the whole walk, which took about an hour or so. We played a lot of iSpy on the way, though.
A chipmunk, the recycling bin, the bag of cheetos someone left on the floor (which I picked up and threw out), the trees, my backpack, and the dog poop someone didn’t pick up like they were supposed to. Those were the answers to the iSpy game we had.
“Okay, we’re here.” Embry smiles.
“Wow, it’s beautiful.” I admire the view.
We were in a canyon of sorts, admiring some of the beauty that the Olympic National Forest has to offer. I look down, noticing the drop off, my heartbeat beginning to race.
“I won’t let you fall, bean.” His arm wrapping around my waist.
“Thank you.” I continue to look around.
Embry always washed my fears away easily. Being with Embry made me feel invincible. I felt all my worries melt away.
I look over at him, smiling at the beautiful boy.
We sat there for a few hours, enjoying each other’s company as well as the view before heading back to the campsite.
It was beginning to get dark and I heard Embry’s stomach grumbling.
“I can start the fire and then we can eat.” I smile at him.
“Sounds good to me, bean.” I felt warm, soft lips press to my temple.
The light from the fire created cast orange all around it, the crackling soothing my ears. The smell bringing me a new sense of peace.
Embry and I ate dinner and roasted s’mores. I sat basically velcroed to his side, just how I like.
“Look at the stars.” He points up to the sky.
“Wow.” I breathe out.
“Come on, let’s stargaze.” He grabs my hand, leading me over to the picnic table at our site.
We lay on it, both of us laying our heads on his arms.
“I like that one.” I point up to the sky.
“Which one? There’s like forty in that direction.” He chuckles.
“That one, Em.” I point again.
“Ahhh, nice. It’s pretty.” He agrees.
“You don’t even know which one I’m talking about.” I giggle.
“I don’t have to. I know it’s beautiful, they all are. Just like you.” He presses a kiss to my cheek.
I turn over to him and press my lips to his. His hands once again find my hips, pulling me into his side.
“Maybe we should go into the tent.” I raise an eyebrow.
“I think we should.” His smirk sends chills up my spine.
And so we did, we took it to the tent.
Soon after, we fell asleep holding each other.
In the morning, the smell of the trees pleasantly invaded their way into my senses. The heat from the sun invading through the polyester walls.
“Good morning.” Embry’s raspy morning voice once again sending chills up my spine.
“Morning, Em.” I smile at him.
“Let’s eat.” He smiles, springing himself up from the sleeping bag.
“You got it.” I smile, following suit.
I caught Embry staring at me, once again. Not something out of the ordinary, though I always wondered why.
“What’s wrong, do I have something on my face?” I ask.
“No, it’s just you. You’re so beautiful.” A blush finds its way to his cheeks, following an uncontrollable grin.
“Awe, Em.” I coo, walking myself over and sitting in his lap.
“I just feel so lucky.” He breathes into my neck.
“Me too. Like the luckiest girl in the world.” I smile, pressing a kiss to his warm cheek.
Sitting in Embry’s presence felt better than merely being near anyone else. It was as if sitting in silence with Embry could beat any conversation with anyone else. I guess that’s a soulmate, though.
“What time is it?” I ask him.
“A little past noon.” He shrugs.
“Okay. So who’s coming tonight?”
“Well, Seth and Leah for sure. Jacob can’t because he’s basically broken in half for a bit longer. Quil said he would. Overall, the rest of them said they’re busy with their friends or families. Well, Jared said he’s too busy ‘doing hot girl shit,’ whatever that means.”
“Alright. Good for Jared, I think that’s a tik tok thing. But Seth, Leah, Quil, Alyssa, and us sounds like a good group.” I chuckle.
“It definitely is.” He laughs, pulling me closer to his chest.
“Well, we should probably head home soon. By the time we got back it’s gonna be after three. And then cleaning all this crap up.” I sigh.
“We can do this again, whenever you want to.” He smiles at me.
“I would like that.” I press a kiss to his forehead.
His warm chest felt like home, and maybe that’s why I always felt like Forks was my home. It was my ticket to Embry my whole life.
We pack up the site and make our hike back down the trail to my car. The drive back once again blasting our shared playlist, revisiting all the feelings we held secret for years.
Embry insisted we stop at his house first since his mother was at work. My heart ached for both him and his mother. Secrets like this are good for neither of them, I couldn’t imagine the pain it brought to them.
The drive to my house was quick, and unpacking all of our stuff didn’t take too long.
I check the time and see it to be after 3:30.
“Well, what can we do now?” I look over to Embry.
“Well, we could get stuff ready. Or we can make out.” He wiggles his eyebrows at me.
“I mean, one of those is far more tempting than the other.” I smirk, walking closer to him.
Next thing I knew, we were on my couch, his warm body pressed against mine. His soft lips pressing onto mine with slight aggression. Embry drove me nuts, there was no denying that.
Some time later, we pulled apart breathlessly.
“Maybe I should get the living room ready.” I smile at him.
“I think so.” He kisses my forehead.
I grab pillows and blankets, creating a comfortable area on the floor for whoever decides to take that instead of the couches. Also blankets for Alyssa and I, as most people who don’t run 108.9 like when they watch movies. I grab snacks and drinks from the latest grocery shopping trip and bring them into the living room, leaving them on the coffee table.
“Alyssa should be getting here soon.” I say happily.
“You excited to see her?” Embry asks me with a kind smile.
“Very. That was one of my only actual friends in Forks.” I return his smile back to him.
“That’s exciting. And now she gets to meet all your La Push friends.”
“She does. And it will be great to finally have some merger there.”
We sat back on the couch, chatting about more things to do on the next camping trip as we were much less limited than others in terms of safety and location. Discussing a group trip with our friends.
Our conversation was interrupted by a knock on my front door.
“Alyssa!” I swing the door open, smiling.
“(Y/N)!” She laughs.
“Come in, let’s catch up.” I pull her in for a hug.
“Yes please.” She giggles.
“Nobody else is gonna be here for an hour, I left that for us to talk about life.” I chuckle.
“Sounds like a plan.”
“I’ll go take a nap, let you guys have your girl talk.” Embry says, kissing my forehead before waving and jogging upstairs to my room.
“So… how is life? How is everything?” I ask.
“Well, my girlfriend and I broke up about a year ago. She cheated on me. So that wasn’t fun, but other than that I’m doing great. I got the program I wanted to a few months ago, I’m gonna become a teacher.” She smiled.
“That’s incredible! Congrats. On the school thing. But as for Chelsea? Seriously? You guys were together from like freshman year of high school. What a witch.” I look at her with comforting eyes.
“Yeah, right? She’s not worth being sad about anymore, though. I’m ready to have fun again, I’ve been okay for a while. I go to school in the fall and I’ll be dorming. I’m quite excited. What’re you doing for school?” She smiles at me.
“Well, I got into the program I want, too. I’m going to be going online, though. But I’m studying economics, I think I want to go to law school.” I smile.
“That’s great! Congratulations.” She beams.
“Right. Wait, where are you going to school?”
“University of Washington. I’m excited.”
“No shot, me too.” I smile.
“No way, you’ll have to come hang out at my dorm sometimes. You’re gonna need to make friends.” She encourages me.
“That sounds like fun.”
We catch up some more before I notice the time. I decided to call to order the pizza at 6:45, that way it would come shortly after people got here. I ordered five pies.
“Five pies? How many of your other friends are coming?” She asks.
“Uhh, I think there’s gonna be like six of us all together.” I shrug.
“Don’t you think that five pies is a lot?” She asks me, raising her eyebrow.
“Definitely not with them. There is no end to their hunger.” I laugh.
“If you say so.” She laughs, doubting my words.
“You’ll see.” I chimed.
I tell her that I should go wake Embry up and begin my walk up the stairs.
I open my door and she his silhouette laying in the bed. The darkness of my room made it impossible to make much else out.
“Embry, wake up.” I say walking over to my bed.
“Already?” He laughs.
“Yeah, already.” I chuckle, placing a hand on his shoulder to wake him up.
“Alright, only for you.” He sits up, pressing a kiss to my forehead.
“Thanks. Let’s get downstairs.” I mumble, thankfully the darkness hid the reddening of my cheeks at his softspoken words.
“Good morning, Alyssa.” Embry yawns from the stairway.
“Good morning?” She laughs at his goofiness.
A knock at the door interrupts us. I walk over to see Quil, Seth, and Leah.
“Hey!” I smile.
“Hey, (Y/N)!” Seth beams with his contagious smile.
“What’s up, dork?” Quil laughs.
“Hey, (Y/N).” Leah says softly, smiling at me.
“Come on in, the pizza should be here soon.”
“Thank god, I’m starving.” Quil huffs.
“I just watched you eat two big macs an hour ago.” Leah looks at him.
“Okay, and?” He laughs.
“Alright everyone, this is my friend Alyssa. Alyssa this is Quil, Seth, and Leah.” I smile, pointing to everyone down the line.
“Hello.” She smiles, waving at everyone. Looking at them as I point.
Though her face stopped at one.
I look and follow her gaze, noticing it stopped at the last face. Leah’s.
Leah had a dazed look on her face, mouth slightly agape.
My eyes widen, looking at Embry’s face that mimicked my shock. In fact, so did Quil’s and Seth’s.
“Hey.” Alyssa exhales.
“Hi.” Leah mumbled, her face quickly turning to one of confusion.
“Oh, this took a turn.” Quil mumbled, in which Seth quickly swatted him with his arm.
I gave Quil a glare, letting him know that now was not a time for jokes.
“Alright, so let’s pick a movie. What movie?” I ask everyone, trying to break the silence.
“Let’s watch The Cat in The Hat.” Quil chuckles.
“It’s a true cinematic masterpiece.” Embry agrees.
“What is wrong with you?” I laugh.
“I mean, it is really funny. We used to talk about it in class all the time.” Alyssa laughs.
“You’re right. Is everyone good with watching that? I think we all need a good laugh.” I smile.
“Yeah. That works.” Leah mumbles.
“Sure. I’m down to watch anything.” Seth smiles.
“Great.” I turn the TV on and begin playing the movie.
Leah takes a spot on the floor by herself, in front of Quil and Seth that took the couch next to the one that Embry and I sat on. Alyssa found herself a spot on the other side of me.
About fifteen minutes into this nonsense, I hear knocking at the door once again.
“Do you want me to pause it, babe?” Embry asks.
“Please don’t.” I smile and walk to the door to get the pizza.
“Your loss.” Quil huffs, laughing at the movie.
I roll my eyes as I get the pizza from the door.
“Let me help you.” I hear Leah say behind me, grabbing the pizza from me so I can pay the delivery guy.
“Thanks, Leah. You can keep the change.” I smile at him.
“You got it. Where’s your bathroom? Also can I borrow a warmer shirt? I’m cold.” She asks, putting the pizza down next to the snacks on the coffee table.
I look at her confused, as she knows where the bathroom is down here, also because this girl would never be cold. It’s then that I noticed the look in her eyes. She didn’t have to use the bathroom and she wasn’t cold. She needed to talk and she needed to talk now.
“You can use the one upstairs, there’s one next to my room. I’ll show you where it is and I’ll get you a sweater.” I nod.
“I’m kinda cold, too. Can I also have a sweater?” Seth asks, noticing the discomfort in his sister.
Quil and Embry look at Seth with a dumbfounded look, though I wave them off.
“Uh, yeah. Come follow, too.” I manage to say.
All three of us walk up the stairs and into my room.
“Are you okay?” I ask Leah, shutting my door.
“I don’t know, I’m so confused.” She says softly,
“I understand. That was a lot.” I lay a comforting hand on her shoulder.
Seth walks over and places another comforting hand on Leah’s other arm.
“I just… Everything I saw felt so right. I just, I don’t know her. I didn’t think I would imprint on a woman. It’s not even that I’m mad about it, I always felt attracted to some women, I just never actually dated any. I just assumed I either wouldn’t imprint or I would imprint on a man, because none of the guys ever imprinted on another guy, even in the stories. But what do I make of it?” She asks me in a panic, speaking a million miles a minute.
“I know, I know. Of course it feels right, it’s supposed to. But just remember, it doesn’t have to be romantic if you don’t want it to be.” I remind her.
“It was in what I saw. I saw us together, I saw us happily holding hands. I saw us kissing. I saw us cuddling by a fire. I saw it all.” She looks at me with concerned eyes.
“Leah, it’s okay. It’s all okay. That’s beautiful, if it’s what you want.” I say.
“Leah, if you’re afraid about imprinting on another woman, don’t worry about that. I don’t care. Mom doesn’t care. Nobody here would care. We love you for you and we want you to be happy.” Seth rubs her back comfortingly.
“You mean that?” Her lip starts to quiver.
“Of course. You’re my sister, you’re my best friend.” Seth pulls her into a hug.
“Leah, I’m here for you every step of the way. We all are. I think that you should be her friend, see how that goes. If it develops further, then it does. If not, don’t stress. You’d then have another best friend.” I smile at her.
“Thank you.” She smiles, nodding her head and hugging me.
“Who knows, Leah? Take things as they come. We’ll be here every step of the way, okay?”
“Okay.” She nods.
“Bring it in.” Seth grabs us both and pulls us into a huge hug.
The crushing weight of his arms was one that felt really nice. I felt all the love in this hug. We stay like this for a few moments before I break the silence.
“Let’s go get some pizza before Quil and Embry eat it all. Or torture Alyssa.” I laugh.
“You’re right. We’ve been up here a little long.” Leah smiles softly.
“They better have saved us some pizza.” Seth huffs.
“I’m sure they did. They might’ve killed two pies already, though.” I chuckle walking out of my room and down the stairs, Seth and Leah trailing close behind.
“Welcome back, you missed a lot.” Quil chuckles.
“Shut up. There better be pizza left.” I glare at him and Embry.
“There is, there is.” Embry defends, placing his hands up in surrender, chewing on his pizza.
“Good, I’m starving.” Seth says, grabbing two slices from the box.
Leah and I both grab a slice before sitting back in our spots.
“Where’s your sweater, Seth?” Quil teases.
“They didn’t fit him.” I look at Quil with hard eyes.
“Yeah, it was a shame.” Seth laughs on the couch.
The rest of the movie was filled with laughter. I sat in Embry’s lap, appreciating the warmth he brought me.
“Next movie?” Embry asks.
“We can watch Jackass.” Quil suggests.
“Oh yeah, because you guys just need ideas. You, Paul, and Jared will be tearing up the town by tomorrow morning if we watch that.” I laugh.
“You got me there.” Quil laughs.
“Great, it’s settled. We’re watching Mean Girls.” I announce.
“Oh god.” Quil whines.
“It’s a great movie, you’re gonna love it at the end of the night. You’ll be quoting it, guaranteed.” I tell him.
“It is a great movie.” Alyssa agrees.
So we watch it, and halfway through the movie I notice that nobody is more invested than Quil, Embry, and Seth. Causing the girls and I to laugh at them.
After the movie ended, we all began to get up and stretch.
“Thank you for having me, (Y/N). I think I’m gonna get going now, though. I have work in the morning but I had fun, we should all hang out again some time. It was great to meet you all.” She smiles, hugging me goodbye.
“Yeah, of course, we should hang out again soon. I’ll walk you to the door.” I smile, leading Alyssa to the door and watching her get into her car, noticing Leah do just the same.
“Thank you!” She calls out as she gets into her car.
I waved goodbye before shutting the door as she drove off.
“Well, we should all probably get going soon.” Leah trails off.
“Alright, I’ll see you guys soon.” I smile before I pull her into a really tight hug.
“Thank you.” She whispers in my ear before pulling away.
“Bye, (Y/N). Thanks for having us. I had fun.” He smiles before they take off.
“I mean, I should probably leave, too. I know you guys value your alone time, now.” Quil wiggles his eyebrows.
“Shut up, dick.” Embry pulls him into a headlock, giving him a noogie.
“That’s a weird way to say thank you for helping you not be a father at 18, but okay.” He laughs, wrestling Embry back.
“Thanks, Quil. I thank you for your help. But Embry did say he would do this.” I giggle.
“Fine, go get your own condoms from now on. I’m not taking them from Paul for you anymore!” He laughs as they roll around.
“You stole them from Paul?” I laugh from the couch.
“Yeah, I hold you two with a very high value.” Quil tells me.
“I see. Enough to risk a beating from Paul.” I laugh.
They both eventually tire themselves out and joining me on the couch.
“You guys done, yet?” I ask.
“Yeah, I just had to kick his ass.” Embry kisses my temple.
“Still a weird way to thank me.” Quil laughs.
I can’t help but laugh at my two goofy ass best friends.
“I should go, and you should go home for once before your mom has a heart attack.” Quil says, looking at Embry.
“You’re right.” He sighs, standing up.
“You should, she probably misses you.” I encourage him.
“I know. I love you, bean. I’ll see you tomorrow.” He presses a kiss to my forehead.
“Sounds good.” I smile, hugging him.
“Embry, you don’t talk to me like that. I’m hurt.” Quil places a hand over his chest, faking a pained face.
“Oh shut it.” Embry shoves him, laughing.
“Goodnight, guys. I’ll see you tomorrow.”
I watch as they walk over to the treeline, knowing exactly how they were getting to their homes.
I go up into my room and lay in bed, reliving the last few days of my life.
How fuckin nuts that just two days ago I was face to face with vampires that wanted to kill me.
And tonight I watched The Cat in The Hat.
Man, life’s pretty weird.
I pick up my phone and sent a text to Embry.
I love you.
I put the phone on my nightstand, and drifted off.
