a/n — i missed writing this series 😭 anyways this was kinda boring so iM SORRY!! i wasn’t planning on including a love interest but yk. anyways pls request more from this series because i truly love it. also don’t forget that i quite literally did not reread this at all so if it sucks then. well. fuck you.

A BAR REBRANDED FROM A SANITARIUM was an odd place for a bachelorette party, right? You'd think the fact that mental patients died in such an area would affect the liveliness of the now bar. But the darkness was hidden within the red velvet carpeted booths. Ones that looked like they hadn't been changed in decades — so there was a safe chance a serial killer's ass sat with yours decades later.

A group of six women sat around a dimmed booth. Party hats and wild attire matched their adolescence-like cheers. You would have thought they were the patients by their chilling screams. The one girl who watched over the other five, with her arms crossed as she watched her little sister unpack glittery bags with candied undergarments in them. As if that made them any more tasteful...

She watched with a tired expression, not exactly hiding how uninterested the party scene was for her. They'd just spent two and a half hours at a four and a half star restaurant that her sister's soon to be sister-in-law booked them a reservation at. She had to pay for a singular breadstick. She felt like some rich dick who went to the club... much like her grandparents. The group then spent the next hour in a club, before moving next door to the bar. The bar was a sectioned off area that lacked the loud party music and dancing area. But the classy atmosphere only matched the rich-kid her sister was marrying.

Her sister was twenty-one years old marrying her college boyfriend. She couldn't help but be envious. Not because her sister was getting married or that she had a "college sweetheart". But rather the idea that her sister was given a relationship from the universe. A man willing to marry her so badly that they couldn't even wait until graduation. They had to get married mid-semester and spend their spring break as their honeymoon. At some rich family villa of his, which would soon be her sister's... you can see why she lacked excitement yeah? It was selfish. She was the first to recognize it. But her sister had never shown any interest in being wed until she was at least twenty-six. She was one of those people with the plans. The ones who carried around their planners like they'd just solved world peace.

Her sister wasn't making a mistake... or at least she didn't think so. Or it didn't seem so. Her soon to be brother-in-law was a respectful guy. But he lacked any awareness in how the girls had grown up. They didn't have a house filled to the brim with white tiling and gold accent pieces. He didn't understand how she spent her whole high school career working her ass off to help her mom pay for the cost of living of their family. Maybe that was a deal breaker for her... but not her sister.

So, she stand here now twirling her glass as she watches her sister smiley scold her college roommates for gifting her a set of lingerie. Sometimes she wishes she'd gone to college. But this was not one of those times. She'd excused herself to walk over to the bar once more, looking for away to espace from the 'bride babe' headbands.

The bar wasn't exactly crowded but she lacked the room to comfortably move. But the group of men taking up the space, moved swiftly as she approached. Her bodycon dress seemed like a simple motivation. One she was not giving into. "Another, please, thanks." She told the bartender who shot her a nod and added it to his mental list. The group of young men (who acted like they'd never account for that title) slowly filed away as some approached her group. She didn't waste any time leaning against the bar as she waited. Desperately wanting to down a shot.

To her direct right, a man balancing a whiskey sour. He was tilting it as he glanced up at her, noticing her eyes locked on the drink being made. She was drop-dead gorgeous, which caught his attention like no other. He knew he shouldn't even be thinking that when a woman was supposed to be the last thing on his mind. But everything about her caught his attention. Which he'd never been good at comprehending, wanting to seem like such a tough guy. When in reality, he had a heart of surprise.

"Old fashioned?" He asked aloud when he noticed the bartender handing her the drink. Her eyes didn't even dart toward him as she remained where she stood, taking a sip of her drink. "I'm partial with a good bourbon myself," He spoke curiously. As if wondering if she'd take the bait. Her eyes finally caught his as she glanced in his direction, taking a sip of her drink without leaving his eyesight.

Boom.

He watched playfully with deep eye contact, his finger tapping his drink. She placed her drink back down on the counter and remained in the same spot. "Meeting someone?" Jess asked. He didn't want the cliche bar meet like he'd read in so many of his books. But this would be a one-time thing, right? If she even obliged. "More like hiding from someone." She spoke as she leaned onto the counter her gaze adverted to watch the bartender work. Jess didn't take his eyes off of her as he found them roaming, interested in what he was seeing. "Your ex? Bonnie or Clyde?"

She looked back over at him for that one giving him a look. He only watched her with a smirk falling on his lips, he liked her. "The sorority sisters," She matched his energy right back as she tiredly glanced over at the group of girls who hardly noticed her disappearance. They were now loudly laughing over a severely unfunny joke. Something about some girl in their dorm buying her boyfriend $500 pants that were ruined in a day. A humorous idea, lacking a reason for a 360 laughing circle. 

"They aren't no Helen Keller," One two many drinks led to this disastrous joke. Her eyes squint slightly at the poor joke, holding in a laugh. He, too, had to wince. "I am drunk." No, you're not, Jess. You just suck at picking up girls. Probably because your only influence is trapped within book pages.

"Okay be honest, how bad am I doing here?" He asked aloud something he'd typically never do without a few drinks in his system.  She bite down on her bottom lip as she pretended to think. "You're digging yourself a hole, pal. A ditch." He didn't waste any time nodding fairly as he finally lost his eye-sight glancing down at the bar before looking back at her. Jess crossed his arms and leaned onto the counter. She admired his approach which was shown when she took a seat beside him, her knees a few inches away from being pressed against the side of his thigh. Her attention was diverted to a book beside his drink. "On The Road?"

The man glanced down at his choice of literature before looking back over at the girl seemingly impressed. He watched her glance back over at her group which he could already tell was not her scene. "So what are you doing here?" Her lips finally revealed, her eyes still trapped on his while he raised his drink to his mouth. A sip was a dry term for what he took as he finally lowered his beverage revealing a smirk that had fallen on his lips. "Who's your favorite Beatle?" 

The woman's face remained the same, noticing the direct change the man-made in the conversation. "None," She quipped with a straight look like she was inspecting him for something. He was quick to understand she was a bright one. Her face, like her name, and her starry eyes were bright and memorable -- almost so that he had to examine her for flaws. Her cheeks only added to her appeal so he moved his attention to her messy hair which had clearly been an asset he was interested in. So, she was perfect like that. Transcendent if you will. "Everyone has a favorite Beatle, 'ya got Ringo then Le-"

"I don't." She cut him off like her duty. As if she owed him the power of not having to repeat four known names. He licked his lips at this with a firm nod eyes darting across the room. Her thoughts remained on his intentions. He didn't seem like a bastard or anything... his looks overpowered the rights for that. "Y'know, lad, if you just told me what was on your mind we could move on from this insatiable eye contact."

Jess nodded at her words with her head falling on her hand. "My girl... my daughter," He corrected when he realized how his choice of words could further affect their conversation. "Her Mom suddenly came into her life. Now Alice, my daughter, is all over her. When she wasn't there the past fourteen years of her life... so for all of it." He spoke aloud, despite if whether she was listening or not. "The woman's a madman... a hookup when I was seventeen and miserable over a breakup and my Dad. It's unfair." 

The woman listened to every single word intently. Her bad night seemed glorious at this moment as she watched him huff and turn toward her, half expecting her to dart at the mention of his messy situation. "That... sucks. I mean that really fucking sucks." She told him with sincerity ghosting her voice. Her words were something he needed to hear. Jess was finally grateful he opened up for once in his thirty-one years of living. "I'm Y/N by the way... if I know something personal about you, it's only fair you know my name."

"Jess," He responded while sticking out his hand with a thin-lipped smile. She matched his expression while shaking his hand firmly. The two pulled away hesitantly as Jess seemed to spark back into his almost-cocky demeanor. "So, tell me why you're sat over here with me. It's only fair, y'know." He cocked with a tilt of his head. Y/N was quick to nod at his words as she messed with her hair. "You looked really depressing, miserable actually." 

He chuckled at her words as a genuine smile took over his face. "Haven't we learned to not beat around it with one another... tell me. I'm listening." 

"It's dumb." She seriously told him before sighing, knowing he wouldn't give up. "The guy my sister, the one with the candy panties, is marrying is just... not for her. And if I try and tell her she gets pissed off at me. So it's safe to say I'm not exactly in the mardi gras mood here." Y/N looked over at the group once more.  Jess was quick to react despite the lack of emotion shown on his face. His features mute. "She looks like a kid."

"She is," She agreed before sighing. "Well, she's twenty-one. But that's still a baby— I mean come on, when I was twenty-one I would have laughed in my boyfriend's face if he proposed to me. She has her whole life ahead of her and I don't know..." 

"If my daughter came home from college and told me she was engaged I would go Hulk Hogan on the guy's ass." Jess reassured her of her sanity with his words. Somehow two emotion-lacking people shared their pressures in sensibility prose. Which both recognized and swore off by their drinks. Which was no excuse. 

His words were almost unheard as the bachelorette party began to cheer once more, followed by the sound of the club next door. Jess pressed his lips together before letting out a puff of air. "Let's get out of here," He told her... although his words were a prominent question that he was awaiting her answer for. Her drink balanced in her hands at his words with an unreadable expression. "Bold move." 

"Life's too short to be shy," He shrugged with his confident look and his eyes practically undressing her mind. Her eyes remained lost in his for a moment before a dry chuckle escaped her lips. "Trust me, I wanna. But as older sister... I gotta watch out for those annoying girls. Emphasis on annoying.”

"Responsible and admirable," He spoke with a nod while taking the final sip of his drink. "But unnecessary... we'll go somewhere quiet for a bit. I swear you'll be back here in an hour and a half." He was persistent which she easily saw coming. "Yeah? And where's that?" 

"I own a publishing company. We have this bookstore downstairs that's closed... quieter than a goddamn J.K. Rowling lovefest." Jess started continuing to attempt to charm her enough for her to stay as his company. "We can have a coffee and talk nonsense. I can promise you you'll be back here by midnight because I need to get home to my kid by midnight. My Uncle won't stay up any later." 

His demeanor changed while he attempted to convince her. He was full of truth and warmth while he anticipated her next move. Which he so desperately hoped would be spending the rest of the evening with him. "Is the 'I own a company' thing supposed to impress me?" She hinted at with a gentle smirk, one he matched instantly. "You haven't seen anything yet." 

"And why should I come with you?" She was just playing with him now. "First of all, you wanna get the hell outta here. Second of all, you wanna have some fun which I'm willing to give you. It's your game."

"Let's go," She stood up with him quickly following as he threw on his jacket and walked behind her. Jess's arm threw around her, they walked closely together. And it was safe to say... Jess and his parental problems were just an afterthought for about an hour and twenty-nine minutes.

2019:

It's late when Rory realizes that she hasn't heard their daughter crying in quite some time, and when she looks up from the book she's doing edits on, she can see from the hallway of their apartment that someone is watching television in the living room.

She slips out of bed, setting her work aside, and wanders down the hall, standing in the doorway as the TV plays The Mandalorian pilot for the umpteenth time.

"Again?" Rory whispers, leaning in.

Jess glances back and shrugs, trying not to jostle the infant in his arms. "It's the only thing that seems to get her to calm down."

Alice Hopie Mariano is a sweet but restless baby, and for whatever reason, Star Wars seems to settle her.

"How did our daughter become such a nerd?" Rory puzzles. "We're not nerds."

Jess looks at her as if she's nuts. "Have you looked at our book collection lately?"

"But we're not those kinds of nerds. We're not Star Wars nerds."

"Speak for yourself, Empire Strikes Back is in my top ten," Jess admits.

Rory gasps playfully. "Who did I even marry?"

"Luke's a Trekkie, I had to rebel somehow," Jess quips.

"You rebelled plenty, Mister."

"Fair point," Jess shrugs. "Okay. I think she's good to go for the crib." He gets up slowly. "And after I put her down, I'm gonna finish this episode."

"You've seen it twelve times."

"What's one more?"

"Nerd."

"You love me," he accuses her as he gets to his feet and kisses her cheek.

"I'll meet you in bed," she promises.

summary — this is the first part of my new series. where you request things jess does as a dad with his daughter alice (ex: throwing her a birthday party, helping her when she’s sick, alice and jess during a year in the life, luke and lorelai baby-sitting alice, etc.). this chapter is SIMPLY THE PROLOGUE! introducing alice & her story. but YOU HAVE TO REQUEST the rest of the fic. i will write some of the chapters with my own ideas but for the most part this is something you guys are helping me with. i’m so very excited for this series & for you guys to meet jess as a dad <3

warnings — this is NOT a jess x rory fic. this will only become a jess x reader fic if that is requested & it’s something i agree to. this fic will include language, drinking, mentions of sex, etc. but each chapter will have its own section of warnings personalized to its criteria.

the california weeks were something jess mariano didn't reminisce fondly of. something about the lack of communication between him and his father and maybe knowing there was nothing waiting for him back in stars hollow. but the one good thing that came out of that trip was the drunken night hoping to forget his life with a girl he met on the beach. she was blonde, not his typical go-to but she wasn't hard on the eyes. so he accompanied her back to her dorm room alongside the college on the coast.

two months later jess was back in new york city. eighteen years old and left alone with the world. it was when he got a phone call from the same girl, announcing to him her pregnancy. this was something he could have never expected and honestly — hoped for. never once did the young adult think of something like this, especially to happen this way. but he had a responsibility and he was ready to grow up. that meant raising the child in his mind. so, months later, he watched his baby girl be born.

the night in the hospital was dreadful. the multiple day bus ride to california and lack of sleep only made his adrenaline rush more. the young woman expressed several complaints throughout the delivery, telling jess she was scared and she couldn't do it. the boy only told her they had a baby now, they had to take on this responsibility. and just like that, she was gone the moment the doctor signed the release papers. leaving jess mariano and a small child in his arms.

the journey back home was inevitable, a small bed in a shared apartment calling his name. a severe amounts of his savings were spent on a plane ticket back to the city. the few hours on a plane with a newborn much better than multiple days. considering, he was pretty sure the two would get kicked off. but jess mariano loved his little girl, alice, he had decided on. right before they were to leave the hospital. he loved their matching eyes and the way she smiled. he loved the way she squeezed his finger with her entire hand and the way she looked into his eyes. jess mariano had gone soft the moment his daughter was born. something he'd never admit.

the first few months were tiring. with the amount of shifts the new dad had to pick up to pay for simple products and the crying baby he lacked any amount of sleep. as did his roommates whom complained any chance they got. after continuously telling them off and spending some spare change on a pacifier, jess finally started to settle down. he started with making her own clothes out of his old t-shirts. of course they weren't pretty but he tried. but as time went on, he was able to afford the necessary items to make his babygirl happy. even though she would be happy nonetheless, as long as she had her dad.

the repetitive first months were still admirable in jess' book. he had never loved another being as much as he adored alice. he thought he loved rory but the way he felt for his child made any other kind of love incomparable. even if she spit up on him or wouldn't let him get a blink or sleep, he still found himself smiling at her sleeping late at night. proud of the little human who filled his heart.

the ending of the rotation began when jess was preparing for another shift at work. alice laid on jess' bed, pillows surrounding her like a nest to keep her safe from rolling over into their roommates crap. the young adult threw a t-shirt over his frame when he turned around, noticing the figure in the apartment door frame.

"hey, neighbor! the guys next door just ran out of crack to sell, so they sent me over to borrow a cup. hey, nice place. you put those holes there yourself?" luke danes questioned, pointing his flannel covered arm towards the large holes in the wall. the man hadn't seen his nephew in a little bit over a year, back when he was still seventeen and living back in stars hollow. when everything was different. "what are you doing here?"

"i just wanted to see how you're doing," luke shrugged at his nephews words as she glanced around the apartment. it was obvious he noticed the baby half asleep on the mattress, her pacifier in her mouth. assuming it was the other sleeping man's. "going great."

"great, you're doing great. wow, you're doing great. i'm not doing great and i have running water," he humored as jess huffed. the teenager grabbed his bag, throwing in a few of the things alice would need while she sat with him at work. "the place is fine."

"fine not great? what happened to great?" luke asked as he watched his nephew throw several children's items in his bag. his head glancing back and forth between his nephew and the baby. two and two connecting at the moment. jess sighed heavy, nearly waking up his roommate. "all this and no housewarming gift?"

luke turned towards his nephew with widened eyes, his finger locked in a point as he pointed between him and the baby once more. "jess... tell me why- tell me that's not..."

"spit it out, uncle luke." jess humored as he turned towards him in frustration, already being late for work. "what is that?"

"the ending of my adolescence," the boy shrugged as he zipped the bag. his curly hair bopped as he made his way over towards the baby, watching her flutter her eyes open. he offered her his arms as he picked her up. luke felt his heart stop as he watched jess with the baby, confusion entering his body. "you have a- a-"

"a little demon, hm?" jess hummed as he pressed his lips to her tiny forehead. turning back to his uncle with his daily poker face. luke still couldn't fathom the situation, still locked in a moment of shock. "why didn't you- you know, tell me? i mean when could this have happened? i saw you a couple months ago."

"thirteen months ago actually. when you kicked me out, remember? couldn't exactly ask for some help when you didn't want me," jess held the baby tightly as she watched her great uncle luke. the man looking right back at the baby. "jess, i would have- just... mom?"

"not here."

luke remained silent as he watched the small baby. noticing the similarities between her and the baby jess. "alice. her names alice," jess mumbled making his uncle glance up at him. "alice? that's a pretty name... too normal for you."

"well she's named after a rock legend," jess admitted making luke burst into a small smile as he watched the little girl. jess holding her forward. "here."

luke was quick to grab the baby, holding her in his arms protectively. he was in awe of the little baby who had yet to cry in the minutes he had been there. something that was so far from her father as a child. "so, why're you really here?"

"well uh, liz told me you weren't coming to the wedding." the man told his nephew, his eyes not leaving the baby cradled in his arms. "there no way you're here about that."

"i am here about that," he argued as he glanced up at the teenager who threw on his leather jacket. "why?"

"why? you're mothers getting married and you're not coming. you also have a new family member that she's gonna desperately want to meet. and i'm assuming, she's yet to hear about this little angel." jess' personal note, make fun of luke for calling alice a little angel... even though she kind of is a little angel.

"no biggie. i'll just catch the next wedding. they can meet ali then, i'm sure she'll have maybe another hair or two by then." jess joked as he reached his hands forward, motioning for his uncle to give him back his baby. luke sighed before obliging; very carefully handing him the babygirl. "jess, this guy is different."

"come on," the teenager choked on a laugh before turning down to look at his smiley baby. the girl had developed a habit of smiling at her father's voice within the past week and a half. it was wild to him how quickly she had grown, not even opening her eyes three months ago. "well he could be different, he seems different." luke attempted to argue, despite noticing jess falling into his own world with his baby. he was proud of jess for his responsibility taken on with the baby and the way his eyes lit up as he watched her. jess mariano was not the same boy that left stars hollow a year ago.

"i've seen him with liz. they seem to work. we need to support this thing, to give it a chance," the man shrugged as he watched his nephew glance up from his baby. "no we don't." he wasted no time going back to place his baby on the mattress as he gathered her blanket to wrap around. "you're gonna regret it, jess."

"doubt it," jess bit back his crooked smile as he wrapped the girl in her small blanket. the protectiveness from the spring new york chills. "no you are. if you ever manage to grow up and get yourself together and drop this selfish, self-destructive behavior that you are so fond of, if that ever happens, you are gonna look back on this moment, and you're gonna feel like a big seaming mound of crap that you missed this. and maybe you have changed, you have a baby now and you're looking at her like... a parent should look at their kid. and she's obviously not in a biker gang so maybe you're doing something right. but jess, you've got a bunch of smelly mattresses and no running water and a toilet in the middle of the room. this stubborn individuality or yours is costing your kid a good childhood."

jess' eyes narrowed as he turned to look over at his uncle. he hated that he agreed with some of his words, knowing alice deserved much more. but she had milk everyday, a warm place to sleep, and a dad who loved her very much. which is more than jess could ever say for himself. "does she seem malnourished to you?"

"what?" luke asked, with his signature confused face. "does she look malnourished to you? or unhappy for that matter? does the clothes with flowers on her back not scream happiness? or what about the fridge with multiple bottles? god, i must be abusing her then, huh?" jess argued as he placed her in his arms, the bag slung around his shoulder. "todd, get up its four!"

jess only shot his uncle an annoyed look as he shoved past him, exiting the apartment. holding his free hand over his baby's back with a soothing pat. "hm... ali, that was your uncle luke. he's kind of a jackass sometimes but he means well. you'll like him sometime, i promise." he whispered to his daughter as he made his way off to work. contemplating how he would explain his little girl to the small town of stars hollow.

it was only a couple hours later that jess mariano packed up his and his daughter's belongings to head to the small town a few hours away. a car ride full of rock CDs to teach his daughter to have an adequate music taste. he only battled with himself the entire shift. debating whether or not to go to the wedding or not. he had no doubt in his mind that he would see his mother's wedding once again. it seemed only every few months that she she found "the one." but his attendance meant a lot to luke for some odd reason. and whether he wanted to admit it or not, luke was the only person who was ever truly there for jess.

so the moment jess emerged in the small town, he sighed at the familiar signs. stopping the moment he saw the town gazebo, parking in-front of the william's hardware store. the curly haired boy stepped out of the car, immediately opening the backdoor and grabbing his baby. the bags thrown over his shoulder she slept peacefully against his shoulder. he could already feel the eyes on him around the town. he was a recognizable character within the small population. the baby in his arms didn't exactly keep him hidden either.

jess made his way into the familiar diner, lacking customers due to the after dinner crowd. the familiar bell only attracted the eyes of the people, the man behind the counter fighting a smile at the sight. "i'm not paying for a motel, so i'm staying with you." he called, making his way past towards the stairwell. they entered the stairwell and made their way up towards the apartment, not even wanting to hear any further comments. the silence from lorelai gilmore made luke turn his head in shock, not used to it.

"um- luke? please tell me that a hairless cat was just being cradled by your nephew right now." lorelai's jaw nearly dropped as she set down her mug. luke glanced around the diner, attempting to find a customer in need of some help. "that is alice."

"his babydoll...?" the inn owner tilted her head as luke let out a breath. "his daughter, my great niece. she's about three months i think. met her earlier, she's great."

"liar! i am not caught up on everything!" the girl gasped towards the man making him groan. "i was getting there but then the proof presented itself. and i only saw her a few hours ago."

"just wow... how is he dealing with all of this? i mean gosh... he's eighteen," lorelai thought aloud reminiscing on her own times as a teenage parent. the struggles and the rewards of having your best friend. the only difference was maturity in her mind. jess was still the immature and cold teenage dirtbag who broke her daughter's heart the year prior. but now he was a parent, just like that.

"i'm gonna go see them. you want to meet her?" luke asked the woman as she replied in a smile. "yeah, of course."

the two exited the empty dinner. luke granting caesar, his chef, privileges to run the place while he made his way upstairs. lorelai followed hesitantly, her mind still on her previously heart broken daughter the entire time. and the boy that had broken it now had a baby.

"ah you're here," jess announced without looking up from his little girl. hearing the sound of the door creaking open as the two entered the apartment. he currently had her in a clean diaper on his old bed, a giggle escaping her lips as he looked down at her. "i do show up occasionally," luke responded.

"hi, jess." lorelai greeted making the boy look up from his little girl. mixed feelings swarming throughout his body. having no idea why or how to feel about her at the very moment. "lorelai," he greeted before looking back down at his girl. "and who's this?" lorelai asked smiley as she followed luke over towards the baby and her father. alice smiled warmly at both people, her bright gestures resulting in smiles throughout the room. "this is alice."

"in wonderland?" she joked as he admired the little girl. jess pressed his lips together as he shook his head. "cooper."

a simple 'ah' escaped from the woman's lips. the desperation was obvious on her face as jess picked the baby up, handing her towards lorelai who proudly held her. jess never truly trusted anyone with his baby. but he knew lorelai knew a thing or two about kids and people in general. even though she lacked showing him that decent respect in the past. "she's so beautiful."

"she's my kid," jess humored as he made his way over towards the fridge passing luke who watched lorelai hold his great niece with pure love. something jess noticed immediately. "i wasn't sure what food to eat." he announced making luke turn towards him. "eat what you like. start with the expired stuff." his eyes glanced over towards the beautiful woman holding the beautiful the baby. a smile instantly forming on his face. "go out. i'm hearing good buzz about the chow mein sandwhich from al's. i got her. caesar can watch the store."

"yeah, i'm sure you haven't been without her since she was born. go get some food for an hour or so. it's the only break you'll get until she's eighteen and off at college," lorelai smiled as she rocked the little girl who was flapping her arms around. jess watched his daughter protectively for a second before sighing. "sure, yeah. i should go get some diapers - for her, anyways. i'll be back in an hour."

Ik this is mostly for comic and anime, game, etc but do you have any novel recommendations? I’m reading “the collector” by John Fowles, have yet to know if it’s gonna be great, but that’s a purity yandere story so far

I did have some recommendations here, but to be honest I don't actually read a whole lot... I can find some webnovels/novels for you, but I haven't read them so I'm not a hundred percent sure on them. I don't think I've read The Collector before but the premise does sound very good for a Halloween book.

A Love That Lurks at the Dining Table - about a girl who loves cooking and an idol that wants her to make lunches for him.

The Impossible Julian Strande duology by Kathryn Ann Kingsley - A girl named Alice works at a mansion with a ghost that has taken interest in her.

Mansions by Whitney Bianca - about a girl who is in a mansion that's basically off the grid, gets kidnapped by the rich male lead.

Untouchable by Sam Mariano - Carter Mahoney takes interest in the female lead and bullies her.

Haunting Adeline by H D Carlton - A manipulator and his lover? The summary isn't really clear.

The Forbidden Games by L.J. Smith - about a game where the main characters are sucked into and have to play so they don't die.

...Like I said, I don't really read as much as I probably should. If you want more recommendations, this thread on the r/MaleYandere subreddit has more recommendations. A lot of isekai webcomics also have their starts in novels too so if you think that the webcomic is going too slow, you could probably look for those too.

Il 7 Marzo esce il nuovo album in formato vinile intitolato "Pieces of a Woman", un progetto che ci trascina musicalmente nel mondo di sonorità alternative e contaminate da diversi stili caratterizzanti dell’artista, affiancata dalla sua fidata band i Neo Soul Combo.

La firma del lavoro è proprio “Cristina Russo & Neosoul Combo", ovvero il nome che da anni ormai accompagna i suoi progetti e le performance “live” in giro per l'Italia. L’artista , con sue parole, ha reso noto che è stato un duro lavoro di studio che ha visto molti brani venire alla luce con spunti ed idee in brain storming insieme ai suoi musicisti, ormai una vera e propria famiglia. La scia sonora ricalca lo stile dell'album Energy, uscito nel 2019. Questo nuovo ed appassionato progetto non sarebbe stato possibile senza la direzione artistica e gli arrangiamenti musicali di Marco Di Dio, la cui mano sapiente ed estro artistico sono dietro al successo ed ai lavori di altri artisti siciliani in vari ambiti diversi: da Club Rivera, ad Andrea La Ferla, da VIVO ad Alice B. "Pieces of a Woman" pubblicato in vinile (e dunque un tocco di classe ma anche alla moda) ha dei tratti “urban” molto vicini al sound “new jazz”, quindi in perfetto stile neosoul, ma non manca qualche sorpresa come degli accenni musicali in stile anni ‘80 che hanno influenzato le ritmiche e le melodie presenti in alcuni brani, come ad esempio nella canzone "Splendidi".

La “urban fusion music” che Cristina Russo e la sua band propongono in "Pieces of a Woman" è ritmata senza tralasciare la raffinatezza che accomuna molti dei loro lavori; la caratteristica voce graffiata e calda, in puro stile soul black di Cristina, si presta in questa occasione ad un sound più moderno: il nuovo jazz d'oltreoceano, dove il piede non smette di muoversi. Cristina Russo e la sua band ci trascinano come sempre nel loro mondo alternativo e “contaminato”; la passione per il così detto sound neo soul, mixato secondo mood e creatività con tocchi di “urban fusion” ,“ new jazz” e “new reggae” sono la base dei loro progetti. Il tutto espresso con uno stile personalissimo e di grande fascino, che si sprigiona ancor più nei “live” dove la formazione completa dà il meglio di sé, con estrosa raffinatezza, lasciandosi spesso coinvolgere dall’atmosfera del momento e dal feedback del pubblico.
