"𝐄𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐁𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐥𝐞" The ability to reverse a person’s (or multiple) movements and objects’ movement/form. The length of how far back he can reverse is unknown, but he usually only goes back to 10 seconds. The longer he reverses, the more stamina it takes.

𝐓𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐤 𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐧 : Warriors are adorned with talisman (tattoos) , giving wearers resistance to black magic and blot. And also some resistance to normal physical damage (ex. a normal blade, a bullet)

𝐒𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 : Anan is from a blood line directly from The King of Yakshas. He has an enormous amount of mana, making him a very powerful mage both in magical and physical terms.

His last name : “Atthakornmetha” means a philosopher with skills as if they posses eight arms. Strange, right?

Anan is inspired by a character from a literature called Ramakien (รามเกียรต์). It is a Thai version of Ramayana (just in case this rings a bell to anyone). The character Anan is inspired by is….*drumroll please!* Thotsakan! Bro is the antagonist of the story and has TWENTY ARMS AND TEN FACES…WHAT-

Thotsakan has the ability to remove his heart. He stores it in a box far away from him, so he’s technically immortal. But if he’s near the box, the heart returns to him so he’s not immortal anymore. I initially planned this to be Anan’s Unique Magic, but man, it’s too op like😭 Bro can rival Malleus and I don’t want to make a very OP character. Weaknesses are good!

Adding on to the previous paragraph, the information about Thotsakan’s ability will have something to do with his backstory…stay tuned >:-)

I have a lot to work on with Anan, at first, his personality is similar to Malleus. It was difficult to put my finger on something unique for him.

Screaming crying throwing up on whether or not I should create a new dorm for my OCs or shove them into one of the seven dorms. Thing is I already designed a unique dorm uniform for them </3 so for now, Anan will be wearing an orange vest. I’ll edit this post later if I changed my mind!

Anan really likes animals, especially small and cute ones like rabbits and hamsters. But animals occasionally run away from him. They’re scared of my boi :(

Anan is the type of friend to always look out for you. When you bend down near a table, his hand will cover the edge of the table so you don’t get hurt. Bro always saves a seat for you during lunch time. Bro remembers your birthday too.

He…has an RBF. He’s very friendly, but he just looks intimidating/angry all the time.

He’s also the type to carry a small pouch around with essential items inside. Your lips are chapped? Say no more, he got chu. Need some mints? Here you go, m’lord/lady. Your nails are dirty? Here’s a nail clipper-

Anan is not afraid to show affection. He will show you that he cares, public or private. He’s always there if you need something, and not in a suffocating way either. Despite his intimidating aura (and looks) if you manage (somehow) to relax and let your guard down, he doesn’t seem so intimidating anymore. And it’s quite relaxing.

Random question that will definitely not lead to fanart:

I want to work on various designs for cybernetics and the riot kings crew are a good vessel for that, if you feel like answering, is anyone trained for/assigned to various tasks within the fleet? And if so, who is assigned to what?(i.e special ops, med tech, riot control, etc) or if theyre not, what would they be best suited for? Here's a bit of an example of what I mean, a character of mine was trained to be a sniper so his cybernetics are optimized for stability, flexibility, and accuracy(his hands can't shake, all of his joints have 360 degree rotation, artificial eyes that can zoom a fair amount, his cybernetic limbs have artificial nerves to mimic touch)

As an example for a Riot kings character: Nabi is a psychic, she's also a civilian and not particularly suited to combat, so i feel like her augmentations would be designed to mimic normal flesh and would probably be minimal so she wouldn't have to undergo a lot of surgery. For their usage: they'd probably be focused on protecting her, like tougher skin and like, taser fingers. Or maybe theyd be better for helping her focus on her psychic abilities, like being able to temporarily turn off her hearing/sight/other senses to reduce distraction when using her abilities.

oooooh! I haven't delved too deep in cybernetics myself, but your ideas sound super cool and creative!

to answer your question, there are specialized duties within the Fleet, usually separated visually by uniform color:

Green: foot soldiers/guards/undesignated. The most common troops, will also do miscellaneous jobs not covered by the other categories. Leadership also wears green.

Blue: special duty (like instructors or prison guards). Jin's current uniform is also blue, but his special duty is Nabi Guard (his blue is to match her sweater)

Purple: intel, aka the guys who collect data, monitor satellites/surveillance drones, and compile reports. Mainfleet also employs interrogators under "intel" (for the sake of never having to admit they employ interrogators. It's just "intelligence collection", nothing to worry about.)

Red: special missions. Can qualify as spec ops, but are generally just soldiers with unique skills that may qualify them for solo/minimally manned missions.

Orange: personnel/admin. These guys handle paperwork, pay, facilities, food... everything required to keep the Fleet running smoothly.

Yellow: engineering. Mechanics, armament, repairs, construction, and more. Commander Kita is the only engineer I've drawn so far I think. She's the officer in charge of that sector on the Inferno.

Teal: medical! ship's surgeons, emergency med techs, and nurses are common on most ships. Dentists, optometrists, and other specialists are available on Mainfleet-side and at established bases. Field and combat medics will also wear teal to distinguish themselves from combatants.

Love your Spider!Op design, the color pallete suits him so nicely. Question, as far as I know, Elita got turned into a techno-organic because of her download ability, but Optimus doesn't have it. How did he end up as a techno-organic?

Also, how did he end up meeting Megs? Did he change his name after joining the decepticons? They didn't like Blackarachnia that much, so what do they think of Megs consort?

First off: Thank you so much for the ask! And to answers your questions. The answer I made for how Spider!OP came to be is that when Elita One uses her download ablitiy traces of that ability can be found in the mech she used it on for a short amount of time. Normally, a mech wouldn't be able to use the ability at all, but put them under enough stress, say surround by hostile alien spider whose nest you just destroy, and the ability can activate. That doesn't mean OP has it permanently now, but it did it's damage while he did have it. As for how he met Megs and the 'cons, the ship the spiders where nesting in, when jostled by the explosion of the spider nest, managed to send out a distress signal that the 'cons picked up on and answered. The meeting between the team that went to the planets surface and OP did not go well for either side, and it ended with OP getting towed to New Kaon against his will.

OP didn't change his name and constantly had to fight other mechs about when he was brought to New Kaon. He's still known as Optimus in this AU and it sends Ultra Magnus and Sentinel for a loop when they eventually learn of him.

As for the what the 'con's think of OP, it didn't start out that great. He was an autobot who was pretty stubborn about his ways when he was first brought to New Kaon (remember he grew up on autobot propaganda) and he stumbled around the culture a lot his first few years there. It took a lot of hard work, some learned humility, and just time for most 'cons to accept him, but some still don't due to various reasons. By the time the AU reaches where the series starts he a pretty respected figure in the 'cons.

pokemon type themed f/o prompts for loverdie!

[Normal]: Do you and your f/o have any pets together? lf not, do you want any?

reverdie plans to adopt a metal crab from beanstalk whenever she officially gets things going! but otherwise the closest thing is mayb reverdie's familiars, way down the line when they learn how to keep them under control.

[Fire]: Who's the better chef between you and your f/o? Do you ever cook together? If so, what's your favorite dish to make?

reverdie! logos tends to use spells to do stuff like peeling the potatoes, whereas reverdie prefers to manually do each step. if he has time to help, logos usually gets tasked to fetch things or stir the pan/watch the pot, though there are times where he properly sits down to help &learn. reverdie doesn't have any one favorite they like to make, though they do tend to gravitate towards dishes with rice &snacks you can eat without mess or one-handed so the couple can enjoy something homemade while they work overtime Again.

[Water]: What does a beach day with your f/o look like? Do you go swimming or check out the boardwalk?

on paper, logos says he's here bc the doctor needs a bodyguard during vacation &he applied for the job, but their friends know it's cover for a date. reverdie was reluctant to try the stall games because they're designed to make you fail until you've spent more than the prize's worth, even preferring to spend money on the tourist-priced street foods instead, but logos cheats seamlessly scores everything they eyed &the two probably get banned. also reverdie definitely brought a grill with them to bbq it up later &an ample amount of time is spent cuddling on a hammock.

[Grass]: You're going on a picnic with your f/o! What are you packing for the trip and what does the scenery look like?

most likely nighttime flower viewing in a secluded spot. reverdie's bag makes it look like they're going trekking, half full of food &half full of blankets and cushions. the snacks and tea were made with the flowers from the convalesence garden &reverdie dozes off in logos' arms under the stars &petals.

[Electric]: When did you realize that you were in love with your f/o? When did they realize that they were in love with you?

initial moment during babel, reverdie fell in love gradually without even realizing it,, it wasn't until logos realized his own feelings first and started hinting deeper affections/subtle actions that reverdie had an 'oh, heー oh, oh- I love him too,' moment.

logos realized it when he wanted to see reverdie blossom as much as the future he wanted to pave for others &the promises he made to them were declarations of that love portrayed in a way that goes with his belief of words as a banshee

(essentially they were "I want to help bear your burdens so you may flourish" aka "I wish for you to reclaim your name/yourself" -> for the doctor who was struggling to hold onto their core beliefs as a person &ties into the meaning of the word reverdie. the second vow to himself was sm along the lines of "in all the words &languages in the world, yours is most precious to me; I want to understand them so that I may nestle closer to all that you are" -> regarding wanting to decode reverdie's voynich manuscript as an intimate expression of affection)

after chernobog, nothing happened til post-victoria; logos got put on reverdie’s radar &logos himself decided to change the professional distance he'd kept til then. he didn't expect reverdie falling back in love w him over time, struggling on how to respond when he never fell out of love in the first place

[Ice]: It's starting to snow! What do you and your f/o plan on doing? Do you go sledding? Build a snowman? Or do you guys stay inside to keep warm?

logos probably goes sledding on a petty bet between other elite ops. he makes sure reverdie is properly bundled up &they take turns switching who's at the front. sometimes his vision gets blocked by reverdie's fluffy floofers but it's all part of the joy of being with them. reverdie tries to build an igloo at some point, but gets distracted during a break with some hot buttered rum &making christmas crack.

[Fighting]: What's one thing that you and your f/o can't seem to agree on? Do you often debate the topic or choose avoid it?

they're both reasonable &level-headed, they both spend as long as possible to work out an argument the best they can so there's not really an irreconcilable topic between them, at worst begrudgingly seeing the other's point &conceding. reverdie's actions leading to the fall of babel may be one point of discontent &depending on how the lore reveal goes, they may try to reason to logos or accept the blame without a fight (leaning more towards the latter)

[Flying]: lf you and your f/o had wings, what did they look like? If your f/o already has wings: describe them! Do they let you touch them?

the two of them help each other with their hair/fur/feather care routines; logos rly enjoys having his wings massaged &they're regularly seen fluffed up or flapping in happiness when he's around reverdie.

[Poison]: Who's the better caretaker in your relationship and how do you help each other when one of you is sick?

when it comes to being sick, reverdie knows a bit more abt whipping up herbal remedies/sick day recipes, but the two come rly close in terms of taking care of each other on a normal basis. logos worries he didn't do enough for them in the past, so he tries to make sure reverdie is cared for now. since the two are often saddled with a Lot of work, they seek each other out to get it done side by side esp if it's after hours. reverdie is usually the one who finally calls for bedtime &bc it's reverdie who's asking, logos actually acquiesces every time.

[Ground]: What's your favorite outdoor activity? What about your f/o's?

to outsiders, it looks like reverdie likes shopping, but in actuality they enjoy wandering around &finding hole in the wall gems in the process, be it for food or a knickknacks shop or etc. since reverdie was away for 3 years &logos didn't actively approach them another few years later, he got used to subconsciously filing away places &things he came across as "reverdie might like this" in his mind. it used to make him feel kind of empty, but not anymore!

[Psychic]: Is your f/o good at reading your mood and/or helping you feel better? What about vice versa?

logos Does try to b more attentive to reverdie's feelings, but ultimately coaxes them to communicate with him on their own initiative, hoping they'll choose to rely on him &not repeat the past. he doesn't mince words, but reverdie sees how honestly &patiently he accompanies them. it both warms their heart &makes them want to try all the harder for him

since logos has a stiff face &values logic over acting on emotion, he tends to hide dejection/anxiety, though feelings like annoyance/irritation are more unfiltered. reverdie knows there's a lot he wants to accomplish &has so much he needs to worry about to achieve those things, so they do their best to smooth out the creases for him &support him in the little ways to make each next step a little easier to tread.

in the end, it rounds back to logos worrying if reverdie taking on too much would cause them to close him off again, though this time it ironically leads them to strive to alleviate that worry as well by relying on &being open with logos

[Bug]: How do you comfort one another when you get scared? Is there any teasing involved?

there's not much that can rattle logos to the point of fear/panic, but similarly to above, reverdie tries to soothe his neurotic tendencies from accumulating by being as reliable as they can, including building a stable environment for him. they wrack up the most solid courses of action they can foresee to assure logos there's no need to be afraid/worry for anything bc everyone is steadfast &well.

logos opts to just eliminate the threat, or at least threatens the cause of the scare with a petty curse or two. if the cause is something he can't stop at the source, he'll try things like casting spells or physical/verbal comfort to mitigate what its doing to scare reverdie.

[Rock]: What kinds of gifts do you get each other for your anniversaries/birthdays/etc?

being able to coordinate time off together is one thing. making sure logos isn't away on another field mission is another thing. having the landship docked somewhere they can feasibly go on a date to is yet another thing. most of their special days are unfortunately spent apart or within rhodes island. since they're both busy individuals, being able to freely spend time together without the pretense of work taking priority is a gift in itself.

because of this, the two of them don't restrict "more important" gifts to "special days" &just do it throughout the year. personally handmade crafts are the norm between them, the most monumental gift reverdie has given logos is a custom, glassblown dip pen. they typically try to gift him practical things he could use.

logos vaguely remembers occasions, but has never really celebrated any. by the time he finally got together with reverdie again, his pent up feelings had been so close to bursting that even he had to mark it as a day of remembrance, gifting them the celtic knot from his traditional banshee wear, which is covered in protective spells &now tied around one of their tails. (his banshee's kiss &dreaming essence soon followed afterwards.) although gifts are year-round &his attitude abt celebrating hasn't rly changed, logos reciprocates reverdie's attempts to at least spend some (strictly non-working) time together for these milestone occasions.

[Ghost]: Has your f/o ever helped you get over a fear? Have they ever pushed you out of your comfort zone?

not exactly fear, but more like. their idealogy was being outright stomped on &reverdie didn't know how to overcome it? it was unfortunately one that you couldn't quite soothe, like an overall "life is cruel" kinda thing. since logos couldn't address the problem, all he could do was try to support reverdie through it, but it wasn't enough in the end. he's trying again now, but he isn't reverdie's sole pillar of support anymore, nor is reverdie isolated anymore due to situational complications of the past, so they're able to face up to their fear better now with their new bonds &experienced new viewpoints.

[Dragon]: Does your f/o have a kryptonite? Does your s/i know about it? What about vice versa?

there's no canon info for his weaknesses, so here's one unsurprisingly regarding reverdie instead: he's missed/pined for them too much, becoming a smidge clingy &possessive, as well as even more whipped &smitten than before. he might not actively realize it most of the time, but if reverdie is participating in sm for example, logos either shows up himself or reads up every report of the event afterwards or asks the people involved how it went. it's not exactly a weakness, but it sure is contradictory for someone touting the codename logos. reverdie, missing their memories &unable to compare this behavior with the past, just thinks this is how logos normally shows his love

reverdie's kryptonite is a double edged sword. they firmly hold onto their core beliefs- even if it hurts them. being unable to betray or denounce what they believed in despite everything until it eats away at them. logos of course knew about it, but he's able to worry way less about them falling back into that state nowadays.

[Dark]: Who is more protective of the other? Give us an example of a time one of you protected the other.

logos by a long stretch. he made a promise to protect reverdie &then made another to himself so he could uphold the initial promise better. even after the questionable state of that promise after babel, he still strove to upkeep it when reverdie returned- &now especially because of what happened in babel, he's doubled down his protective behavior. he's like the guardian bird of a tree, sniping nuts at your head from above &dive-bombing the people who walk too close (within reason) (he's logos after all) (ignore him brandishing his bone pen)

[Steel]: Do you have any f/o's who pretend to be tough but are actually softies that are wrapped around your finger?

yeah the great banshee lord, ancient-blooded young spellmaster prodigy prince who speaks in archaic rhetoric has got it down bad horrendous for this space tree fox. astronomically, even

[Fairy]: What kinds of AUs do you imagine you and your f/o in? Are any inspired by classic fairytales?

au where the elite operators survive :)))))

(I don't rly have any aus for them atm) (seaborn ending au is way too dreary for me to b happy or motivated thinking of one) (despite the amazing au fics I have come across, none of them rly inspired me to make my own) (beyond the vaguest idea of a modern au that I hadn't thought any deeper abt in 3000yrs)

[Bonus]: Construct a Pokemon team for you and construct one for your f/o (if they don't already have one!)

assuming it's a pokemon in arknights au &not full on pokemon au- (hash the above prompt, I guess I do have an au now?) (mons r obviously chosen based on vibes &lore/dex entries not actual competitive viability/team synergy idk any of that)

reverdie: their first pokemon is a shaymin who currently has lost its gracidea flower, or rather never had one in the first place. reverdie doesn't rly have a set lead pokemon as battling isn't a priority, but the eevee (now leafeon) that priestess gifted them likes to accompany them wherever they go. it suddenly evolved into a leafeon seemingly on its own after being under reverdie's care for a scant few hours. they befriended a ninetales shortly after settling into a mountainous yan village; reverdie loves to snuggle with it for warmth. during their stay in higashi, they were gifted an egg as a gesture of gratitude. it later hatched into a turtwig (now torterra). reverdie once had a zorua that their ninetales brought them, but it mysteriously disappeared during the incident that caused reverdie to have to recuperate in the sarcophagus for the first time. later when they woke up &resettled elsewhere, a hisuian zorua appeared on their doorstep one day &wouldn't leave. it hasn't evolved despite all this time &it's unclear if it rly just hasn't reached that point yet or if it refuses to. sometime after the reunion incident, logos' decidueye brought reverdie an applin (now appletun) like it was a dead rat. reverdie didn't know whose decidueye it was at the time &didn't see it again until they reacquainted with logos.

logos: the rookidee line is common in the banshee valley &logos has had one (now corviknight) since he was a kid. he kept running into an absol repeatedly as he grew up &eventually befriended it. his mother's froslass saw logos grow up &she lent it to him as a sendoff gift, lowkey to also look after him when he left for babel. logos prefers to use his own pokemon to battle, so froslass rly only sees action when he's officially representing the elegiac court. sometime during babel, logos found a rowlet (now decidueye) napping in the bed he hadn't seen for 4 days due to overworking. he kicked it out, but it kept coming back whenever he spent a prolonged period of time away. when logos told reverdie abt it, they said they thought it was his &had even let it into his dorm a few times. logos eventually just kept it. before he officially accepted the rowlet into his team, logos had been looking for a potential messenger bird to raise, since his corviknight was the team lead &often busy along with him. he asked the other elite operators for help as he couldn't devote enough time to find one. scout got him a swablu (now altaria) from heavens knows where, thinking it would b funny to see the banshee lord with a cottonball head. logos taught the swablu perish song on the spot &promptly set it loose on scout. sometime after the victoria incident, reverdie gifted logos an alolan vulpix (now ninetales) that they had been raising for a while.

Review

Ore no Ie ga Maryoku Spot datta Ken – Sundeiru dake de Sekai Saikyou

Or: My House is a Magic Power Spot (or as I like to call it “I Fucked my house in another world)

Genre: Fantasy Isekai

Subgenre: They’re Overpowered but choose a Lazy-Life, isekai (so there’s no Demon Lord but stuff happens around them)

Summary/plot: Our MC gets isekaied to a fantasy world, but with the twist that his house comes with him. Turns out his house has been on a magical ley line or something so in this new world he is super powerful, like just oozing magic. Along with his house, he also gets the spirit of his house as a companion. She is of course a cute girl and had been present throughout the guys life only to physically appear in the new world. At the start he just wants to have a relaxing life in the new world, but as more monsters and characters are drawn to the magic spot his house is on, he has to deal with it. Along the way he makes friends with some of the new people and gathers more respect from basically anyone he meets. Most of the plot is something happens, normal people may try but aren’t strong enough to deal with it, the MC swings his OP dick at problem solving it, a new friend is made somewhere along the way.

Art Style: So it starts out ok, but I think the quality goes down with time. Seems like a hastily drawn manga to me. The backgrounds do seem to be detailed well enough. The monsters have good designs in my opinion.

Personal thoughts: I find this one entertaining enough. It feels like “just something to read” nothing great but it isn’t bad. The first number of chapters have a good amount of raunchy stuff. Panty shots, nipples poking through shirts, orgasmic feelings; but after the MC actually fucks his house spirit it starts to calm down a lot. I had forgotten it had that much lewd stuff in it. That’s how long it’s gone without anything. The most there is now is just generic big boobs. As time goes on the story starts to leave the house spirit, Sakura, behind in lieu of other characters. Which I think is a disservice. The guy was isekied with his house and yet the house is being left behind. Like I said in the Summary, this manga is episodic. Just a few chapters focusing on a problem the MC eventually solves. If this were an anime, I’d expect most of the adventures to last 2-4 episodes. No overarching plots.

Characters:

Daichi: The MC, he starts off as more of a recluse just protecting himself from stuff that shows up. But his kinder nature shows up when the monsters or people ask for forgiveness or just come in peace to start with. He eventually becomes the kind of guy who is happy to help when people have a problem. That was probably his nature the whole time but making friends with people helped bring it out more. He has fun making golems out of apple trees and modifying them to get more advanced ones. These apple tree golems are his main weapon. Really he just walks around and things react to him.

Sakura: The house spirit. So she has evidently been conscious since Daichi was born and had been watching over him since then. Their relationship still feels a little age-difference weird but whatever. She acts as a housewife, cooking, cleaning, fucking, the normal. In the chapters that have been coming out as of late (around the 140s) she hasn’t been doing much or even showing up much. She is starting to pop up more again but there was defiantly a lull in her activeness in the plot.

Dianeia: The first person Daichi meets in the new world. She is a princess who can do some decent magic. When introduced, she was used to show how powerful Daichi was by her peeing herself in front of him. Although she does that a few more times it luckily stops happening after not too long. She is a good responsible leader who doesn’t want to relay on Daichi for everything and tries to not bother him as much as possible. She is a plot instigator. Because she’s basically the ruler, of the city at least, and we don’t see any other ruling figures around, a lot of the events and problems pass through her first. And since she is friends with Daichi, he will gladly interfere and help when needed or if he happens to be nearby. She also has a crush on Daichi.

Hesty: The loli dragon lord. After Daichi kills some dragons, they start to get antsy about him. So Hesty must go deal with Daichi or the dragons are going to just start getting themselves killed by attacking Daichi. She is smart and kind. She doesn’t really want to fight him because she knows he’s stronger but you gotta do these things as ruler. She helps Daichi out with learning about the world and magic before she fights him. After the fight she drops the title dragon lord and moves in. She’s a chipper young girl who loves magic items, especially staffs. She helps out where she can. She does not have romantic feelings for Daichi.

The Shining Heads: I’m just lumping all of them together for this. Honesty my favorite characters. Just all around awesome guys.

There are more people to be introduced but I think they come too far into the manga to bring up.

Other info: As of 11/30/22 there are, oh jeez, 144 chapters. It will take some time to get through. Luckily, they go by quick, it’s nice and easy to read. There isn’t too much info dumping to slow you down. No anime adaptation yet, and I would be shocked if there ever is. It stops being horny around chapter 20 after the Hesty fight if that’s all your wanting from it.

All in all: It’s just good. There aren’t any big stressful events, no long story arcs, the characters are pretty face value. I’d say it’s a good filler read. If you want something to read that’s not much effort or that doesn’t require much investment, then this manga would be worth it. If you’re only looking for deep story with high value, then you can skip. Really not every story has to be a banger, sometimes you just want something equivalent to fast food but to read.

Misconceptions Regarding MCC14

Recently there have been a load of misconceptions regarding many of the controversies that happened this MCC, especially on Twitter and Tiktok, so I thought I would make a giant post detailing these and why they are wrong so I can scroll through my dash in peace.

1. Hbomb purposely abused a glitch in HITW that got Illumina and Mefs banned from MCC on the practice server.

This one can easily be broken down into three components: 1. Misinformation about the glitch itself 2. Misinformation about the Mefs and Illumina incident 3. When does abusing a glitch count as cheating?

Firstly, the glitch Hbomb used is actually very common in HITW and has been around since the game was first introduced. The devs know about it and have not made any complaints about it because the usage of the glitch itself is heavily luck based (depending on the ping of the player) and does not guarantee a win to any player who does get it. Take for example PearlescentMoon who has used the glitch repeatedly throughout many competitions (i.e MCC 11), yet has not gained any significant advantage through it because, again, there is still an element of skill required to use it. This glitch is not only known by the devs, but has been used before in HITW. It is not something new that Hbomb exploited as a means of getting ahead.

Secondly, the Illumina and Mefs situation is not at all comparable to the Hbomb one. Illumina and Mefs were using a completely different glitch which did guarantee a win to the player because it allowed the player to afk on the platform and allow the blocks to pass through them. They were not banned for exploiting this glitch, but rather reprimanded by Scott and the devs for not reporting it to them sooner. Mefs and Illumina are still allowed in MCC and only didn’t compete this time because the teams had already been formed.

Finally, in regards to the idea of cheating itself when using such a glitch, the idea that what Hbomb did counts as cheating is absurd considering past MCCs and the various glitches which have been abused as well. I’ve seen a lot of people mention the infamous Wilbur Glitch and I think its a perfect example. The Wilbur Glitch is from the game Rocket Spleef which was not played this MCC but certainly will be in the future. The glitch involves the player becoming stuck in a block and seemingly floating in the air allowing them to basically secure a win without admin intervention. This glitch is much more OP than the glitch Hbomb used, and we have even seen admins purposefully try to kill players for using it (i.e Philza MCC11). However, even when players have purposefully attempted to get it (Wilbur, Phil, Quackity, etc.), I have never seen the fandom react so negatively as to accuse them of cheating. It is not fair to accuse Hbomb of cheating when he abuses a glitch which has been in the game for ages and not do the same with your favourite creators who do a much more busted glitch as well. Personally, I don’t consider either of these cheating, but that’s my opinion.

2. They removed Parkour Warrior because Dream was too good. That’s not fair.

Okay, this one is very simple as its just not true. This falls under the assumption that Dream was the only player to finish Parkour Warrior which is not true (PeteZahHutt completed the course twice and was the first to ever complete it in MCC 6). While the reason the Parkour Warrior map was destroyed in MCC 11 is said to be that EpicLandlord destroyed it because “he was annoyed at how good Dream was at it”, this is mainly a joke (think of the Ranboo being banned from MCC situation, while Ranboo isn’t in MCC there’s no actual beef and he’s not actually banned.) Secondly, if you weren’t around for Parkour Warrior when it was still in MCC, or have only ever seen Dream or Pete’s POV, you might not know, but Parkour Warrior was a miserable game mode (think Build Mart/Bingo but ten times worse because there was no chance to improve your placement other than just being good at Parkour). The game was 10 minutes of pure rage and frustration from competitors, which while entertaining at times, wasn’t the best for content when only two POVs in the entire competition were deemed watchable. This also wasn’t good for a competition because it meant that only two teams at most were progressing (and by a large amount) due to one player while the rest lagged behind. It gave the teams which had Pete and Dream a huge advantage and made the game unfun and unfair to everyone else, so they revamped the game (to Parkour Tag) to make it an even playing field where everyone had a chance to win (in the spirit of MCC).

3. Scott had an unfair advantage in the competition and should be removed from the Dev Team or the Participants List.

This one is slightly more nuanced and may not have a definitive answer. Yes, Scott does have a slight advantage due to being a part of the dev team in every MCC. However, this MCC was definitely an outlier in that fact. Scott has been known to share info and tips with his teammates in past MCCs, but it has not truly impacted their performance on a significant level because the players knew a majority of the information anyways (the game rules, maps, etc). This MCC was unfair because Scott had a bigger advantage than originally assumed (it doesn’t mean he did it with malicious intent, it just means there was a severe oversight when designing the maps and explaining the rules to players). Also, the idea that Scott was guaranteed a win because he was part of the Dev Team is ridiculous and untrue.

Scott has always been treated on the same level as any other player and has not been giving special privileges because he helped work on the tournament. Take for example MCC 8. Scott was teamed with Tommy, Philza, and Wilbur, and they were doing very well! Then came (wait for it), Ace Race. Scott experienced a glitch which allowed him to remain with his Elytra activated for half the course and allowed him to skip over multiple checkpoints and placed him in first. However, by skipping over these checkpoints the game corrected his placement and put him in last. This was seen as not fair at the time and the Red Rabbits did complain, to which Noxite responded that there was nothing they could do and Scott would just have to finish the round as normal. This glitch severely impacted the Red Rabbits standings and possibly led to them not being able to compete in Dodgebolt that MCC. Yet, Scott was never treated differently than any other player throughout the glitch despite being a part of the Dev Team.

For the next MCC, I certainly think that Scott should be allowed to play as normal. I truly believe this MCC was a fluke, and although I too felt a little salty seeing my favourite go from 2nd to 30th, I believe that it is not worth getting up in arms about it because at the end of the day there is a whole season of competitions where any team has a chance to win.

4. They should have restarted the round and allowed the participants to retry the map.

While I too would have loved to see a rematch for Ace Rae, I would like to say that I, and probably many of the people playing, knew that it wasn’t going to happen. Noxcrew is very strict about the way MCC is run, it’s why I think it works so well. However, this means that they will not budge on these rules even in the face of something such as this competition’s Ace Race debacle. In the entire time of MCC, Noxcrew have only once ever restarted a round. This was in MCC 7 during Battle Box after there were server issues causing extreme lag for everyone (and Wilbur and Magistrex blew up their own teammates). It was unlikely that they were going to restart the round due to the mistake, and honestly, it might’ve caused more trouble than good to reset the points and the entire round of Ace Race.

5. The Spirit of MCC

This last one is more of a general statement than a misconception, but I would like to say that I have seen a lot of newer fans confused and upset about this MCC’s outcome. However, I would like to remind everyone that at the end of the day MCC is a for-fun tournament which brings MCYTs of every background to compete and have fun. Yes, there is an element of competitiveness as it is a competition, but it goes against the very spirit of the competitions to be toxic and rude in spite of not winning or placing lower than you expected. At the end of the day, it is a MC tournament that has no monetary prize other than a golden coin. It is immature to slander, spread misinformation, or send death threats and harassment over such a tournament and I wish shame upon anyone who’s first reaction to not winning or their team not winning was to do such a thing. MCC is a brilliant tournament that has changed the game for how MC Competitions have been done, and it is disheartening to see the hard work Noxcrew and Scott have done be disrespected as such. I hope next MCC the fandom can come together and make this the lovely fandom event it once was.

☆the Terrible Fight scenes that last what? 2 minutes max?

☆the Space Yokai... ion get it lmao They built.it up like it was so strong... and Inuyasha and Sesshomaru took it out with 2 moves....

☆Towa being OP for nooooo damn reason! Towa has no prior training yet she defeating demons left and right. Yet they made sure to show Kagome lack of training very evident.

☆Inconsistencies. More so amongst the fandom.. " Its the feudal Era. It was normal back then. Because people died early" 🥲🥲😪😪 God help me on this one...

ALSO INUYASHA: Has a bunch of old people running around in the show. Kaede seemingly being the oldest

1) It wasn't as common as you think.

2) Inuyasha is so far from accurate. There's literal demons in this show and magical swords and Weapons...

heyyy okay so I just saw a post where people basically called the fandom out for ignoring the fact that Andrew is “abusive as fuck” to the other monsters while still bashing seth and aaron for their homophobia and I just uhhh- I would really like to hear your thoughts on this pls? Cus while I can definitely see how andrews relationship with them is not at all normal or healthy in many ways, I don’t really feel like abusive is the right word for it, is that just me?

firstly, while we’re on this topic i’d like to say a couple of words about the aaron discourse that seems to be back in fashion.

in fandoms we have this interesting desire to rank *problematic* behaviors in order of their graveness and then act as if this ranking is objective for all people everywhere. this is where the “you hate aaron bc he’s homophobic? well your fave actually killed a person so“ argument comes from. while there’s logic to the idea that being murdered is worse than being called a slur, for people who experience homophobia irl on a daily basis a fictional murder will never be as upsetting as fictional homophobia. conversely, other fans who don’t fall into this category but might relate to aaron for different reasons (bc he happens to be a well-rounded character) are confused by how he’s branded as the worst while the other foxes (especially the monsters) are right there and feel the need to make the fandom appreciate him more by writing that kind of posts comparing his flaws and shortcomings to those of the other foxes according to the questionable but binding ranking of all sins. and round and round the discourse goes bc the latter party can’t imagine how for many people homophobia can take the highest rank of Problématique despite being “not as bad as murder” or whatever.

if you’re able-bodied and able-minded it’s likely that all the ableism in aftg went over your head. if you’re not queer and haven’t experienced homophobia it might be easier for you to look past it in aaron’s case and be able to appreciate him as a character despite it. if “asexual spectrum” and “amatonormativity” are terms you don’t give much thought to in your day-to-day life, you probably see nicky in a completely different light than i do. all of these things are objectively wrong but if one is worse than the other is completely subjective for each individual. there will always be people who like aaron and those who dislike him and i’m afraid no amount of discourse will drastically change their opinions.

returning to your question, a lot can be said about andrew and all the bad things he does. a lot has been said. if you’re after some good andrew bashing i feel like there are quite a few blogs out there who can provide. even in our corner of the fandom where we worship and idolize andrew joseph minyard we still discuss his flaws from time to time. the only reason we haven’t done that recently is bc according to our latest decree “andrew hasn’t done anything wrong ever and we love him and in fact he deserves more opportunities to stab people”. so the argument that andrew’s problematic behaviors don’t get discussed enough doesn’t seem true to me. but it’s not really about that, is it? it’s about not enough people liking aaron and seth and too many people liking andrew - according to op. whereas his crimes are higher (or at least as high) in the ranking of crimes - according to op. but here’s the thing - like i said all of this is very subjective, some people just like andrew despite everything and will never like aaron no matter how strong your argument in his favor is. they’re not politicians in an election campaign, they’re imaginary people who we get attached to bc they make us feel better about ourselves. but if they were politicians and the election was held on tumblr andrew would win in a landslide just bc the voters are mostly queer and andrew’s gay and aaron’s homophobic. that’s how it works.

and finally as for the word “abusive”, before i used to get mad at how people use it all too often and dilute its meaning but nowadays i’m just wondering if this is just simple etymological evolution: at first “abusive” was used to designate only the gravest kinds of mistreatment, but then people became aware of its rhetorical effect and now this word seems to mean “acts i personally find unacceptable” - which can range from more to less harmful. for the sake of intelligible discussions it would be helpful to use different words for different acts in that range, but you can’t really generate enough engagement with words like “annoying”, “offensive” or “harmful” and many users don’t really pursue intelligible discussion anyway. i personally like the word “problematic” which suits me well bc it requires futher explanation of why you perceive something as a problem and it doesn’t have the indicator of its graveness built in. however, i can also see how bc it’s been overused in the past to the point where it itself became a meme, some people can’t take it seriously anymore. “problematic” sounds like a joke so people have to call things “abusive” to be taken seriously. “abusive” is the new “problematic”. this is something i perceive as well so i often try to distance myself from the word by writing it in funny ways but i still use it bc i know no better umbrella term for things that i consider “not good” but wouldn’t go as far as to call them “abusive”.

that being said, what exactly you designate as *problematic* matters as well. for example, i would call some of andrew’s behaviors problematic bc, you know, they are a problem, but i wouldn’t call his relationship with the monsters problematic. strained, difficult, lacking communication, even “not a friendship” if you wish, but no, not problematic and certainly not abusive.

how i feel about them

labrys... my scrunkly my scrimblo my mipy... my robot daughter who deserves only good things. i cried a grand total of three times during my first playthrough of persona 4 arena, and i am historically a very difficult person to make cry so that was a really big "wow this game has made me worse!" moment. but in a good way, perhaps!

i think she’s criminally underrated, has an excellent design and backstory and a personality that is both very endearing and incredibly interesting to dig into. i love her a whole bunch, there's no other way to say it. Shoutout to her for being my p4u main and carrying me in every match against austin (except perhaps when he plays junpei, for then i am royally fucked).

i don't want to split up yukichie, but i think either of them would be really cute too, judging by how sweet their p4u routes were. and the yukibrys dialogue in blazblue cross tag battle... my god.

non-romantic otp... so basically a best friend? a bro, even...? that’s what this is asking, right? okay.

i'm going to go slightly offpiste for this one and suggest ken amada. not only is he my other scrunkly (and he’s the other guy i keep writing essay-length posts about on discord), but i think their tentative friendship is really cute and has a lot of potential. for example: ken geeking out over how cool labrys' axe is, plus that moment in the yasogami halls where ken worries about being a normal kid and labrys asks him if it's hard to do............................................. there's Potential there okay!!!!! while i think labrys getting to attend yasogami post-p4u2 is sweet, i'm also fond of the idea of mitsuru scoring her a place at gekkoukan (familiar territory and all that, plus if AIGIS can survive two years of gekkoukan high then labrys should breeze through it no problem) and ken and labrys being supercompetitive about normal student things

tl;dr kids who have known woeful amounts of grief and rage getting to be normal kids = 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍

my unpopular opinion about this character

i'm not sure i have one...? i guess the closest thing i have to an 'unpopular opinion' (although i know it's shared by at least a few people) is that i'm not a huge fan of seeing her shipped with dudes. no shade if you do that, but from my perspective that robot is a lesbian.

one thing i wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon

i wish we got a little bit more from her epilogue in p4u2. it was an incredibly touching scene, but where everyone else's hinted towards their futures (fuuka choosing to stay in japan in case the shadow operatives need her again, mitsuru being hounded by public security, ken handing his badge over to mitsuru for safekeeping) we didn't exactly get a sense of where labrys would go next, beyond just joining the shadow ops.

i think she should’ve gotten (and mitsuru would’ve been willing to accommodate) her own taste of what a normal life is like, before joining the shadow ops fulltime. like aigis did, when she spent her senior year at gekkoukan rooming with yukari. it was an incredibly human thing to have experienced. i think the universe owes labrys at least a little bit of that, too.

S5 Ep 14: So If You Put a Fraction Into a Duel Disk, the Card Explodes

We left on quite the cliffhanger last episode, so I’ll fill you in:

I did not get the haircut.

Like I seriously considered getting a Zigfried for a cool 3 or 4 minutes there, but then I decided to wait a couple of days and I basically forgot.

But, back to the arc finale, Seto has decided to walk, not run, to the Kaiba lab in order to fix the virus rapidly eating his entire company.

I just want to point out that Zigfried went through a LOT of work to get Seto Kiaba to go “uggggh” turn around, and pretend to calmly walk away. I’m used to Seto losing his nut kind of a lot and blowing things up but this season he’s like “be chill be chill be chill” so that the entire world doesn’t think he’s a spaz on TV.

And little aside about Seto’s design choices here, I fell down a hole of interior design videos, and can I just say: apparently these wood frame things on the wall are back in style? Good on you, 2002(3?) Seto Kaiba. Don’t think that current designers are painting them purple but...we’re halfway there to Yugioh fashion.

Meanwhile, Pharaoh decides to remind everyone that these stakes are hella low. The worst that happens is that Zigfried deletes the plane that Yugi needs to fly home...which would be an impressive virus.

Like it’s hard to tell if Yami even has a solid concept of “capitalism” and whether or not he cares about or understands the makeup of Seto’s company (which up till now has operated like a small country and not a business...which is a little more Pharaoh’s understanding. Either way...hard to tell if Yami would shed two tears for the loss of Kaiba corp.)

And, despite what I say in the caps, I feel like Leon and Zigfried are the first villains we’ve ever had that Yugi and Pharaoh didn’t unintentionally disclose that they are 2 people to. Zigfried and Leon are just...completely oblivious to how effed up Yugi’s bean is. They think that’s just a normal kid and lol no dudes...y’all got distracted by Seto Kabia but you have a literal Egyptian God just hovering around in the background and dating 3 people by accident.

Like when the show shelves the main storyline, it is very funny how it’s all “And we’re gonna put the Pharaoh crisis on hold--just put a pin in it. No one will notice this child is two nervous wrecks stitched together” and then Yugi and Yami just kinda hold it in and watch all patiently until it’s their turn to get off the bench.

In the giant computer tower, Seto Kaiba shouts out a string of orders and numbers, admired the many sonar detector looking windows open on every monitor, and then sat down at his desk to like...check the firewall, I guess?

The virus is past the firewall. It’s um...it’s inside the firewall, pretty sure that was the point, but youknow, it’s a kid’s show so they’re just throwing out computer stuff that has no meaning to the writers of this show.

Mokuba thinks fondly of how Seto Kaiba has never screwed him over (which I mean...maybe not on purpose, ((except for that one time he did screw him over on purpose to get Gozaburo Kaiba to accidentally give Seto Kaiba the company, but you could say that was a grander scheme that he knew Mokuba would see through, which...)) but Seto certainly has screwed Mokuba over accidentally. At least once.)

And meanwhile, Yami fixes everything through card shenanigans.

So here’s the shenanigan this episode: I don’t go over cards here but this one requires a limited amount of explanation.

So every round the golden castle deletes half of Yugi’s cards. So he was like...I’ll just draw down to one card. They can’t delete half a card...so that means the card must delete one of the two cards on the field which means it must delete itself.

...which is like the closest Yugioh will probably ever get to abusing a glitch to do a speedrunning tactic like GDQ.

Anyway, like I stated in the title: there are no fractions allowed in Yugioh. If you do that to your priceless one-of-a-kind card you got from winning one of Pegasus’ murder tournies, it will irreparably bust the card.

I’m sure at least one of you will correct me with the proper way to insert a fraction into your duel disk. Cuz like...as I say multiple times so we never forget, I barely pay attention to this card game and I’m just flying by the seat of my pants.

I want to say Seto and Mokuba were in the hacker chairs for like...3 minutes maybe before they realized “oh...Yugi fixed it...” and walked the half a mile back to the duel arena.

and also, as I’m looking at Seto’s glasses here, I just realized...all of Kaiba’s team wears sunglasses all the time. Inside, outside, night, or day...

They haven’t outright said this...but what if those aren’t sunglasses?

Is Roland and that other Roland wearing fancy cyber glasses? They are, right? Because they wear them indoors?

Damn, they can’t take a piss without being on call with Kaiba Corp, can they?

Now the problem is...Yugi played all of his cards (he has two in front of him face down, but none in his deck) and after milling himself, this means he’s now basically a sitting duck for Leon to take the title of “King of Games.”

Leon insists that he defend whatever scraps are left of his card honor and not duel a person who is carrying no cards and Yugi was like “COME AT ME BRO THIS IS THE ONLY WAY I KNOW I’M ALIVE.”

He didn’t even have to do a horror on Leon, he just...played cards good? I skipped it, I’ll be honest, but overall Leon’s card honor was...saved? Maybe? I mean he also go destroyed when his competitor had not a single card in his duel disk so...

...Leon will have to work on his card honor off screen because he’s pretty well humiliated at this point.

But stumbling onto the playing field like he’s half dazed/daydrunk, Zigfried is like “You forgot I already won, bastards!”

Which is when we find out that Zigfried’s “delete all” virus failed to press “enter” and deleted basically nothing. Just like when my Mom attempts to send something in Gmail but doesn’t press “Send” and tells me that Google is down and broken.

Sorry my bro has informed me that he ALSO has had to help my Mother locate the “Send” button and I just...I know she absolutely did that but I’m in denial that this Riddle of the Sphinx has happened to her multiple times.

Honestly, the pep talk we get from Leon at the end to cheer up his bro was a whole lot of “we will pick ourselves up and we’ll do better next time. Together.” and sure you can translate that as “we’ll be honest next time” or you can translate that as “next time we will be not nearly as obvious about inserting a virus into their computer until it is done doing the job, bro.”

Just like Dartz, we didn’t really get a whole lot of retribution or closure when it comes to Zigfried. But, unlike Dartz, Zigfried didn’t do too much murder, so I guess this is fine. He tried to cheat in a card game...

...and I guess tried to delete Kaiba Corp but youknow...

...people let him have that. The police saw the ticket of “this man tried to delete Kaiba Corp” and they just...didn’t arrest him. The judge saw that ticket and didn’t put out a warrant. They just let Zigfried have this, almost like “better luck next time, ya?”

And then Roland clocked out for the day and went home, thus ending this arc.

Look at all these characters, most of which we never saw duel even one card.

We also got one shot of Mai for some reason although she was not in this arc.

AAAHHHH. Every time I’m like “the show is done screwing geography” we get another freakin geography spook!

But we went back to California in order to get a scene of these guys in an airport to get a flight to Japan...

which means Rex and Weevil just...were they shipped home by the Kaibas? Because way to ditch getting arrested by the American Government, hot damn. They are...literally terrorists who destroyed a Caltrain in a plot to kill everyone in the world so like...really surprised Rex and Weevil are in public...but maybe all the FBI were dead at the time so they just didn’t know?

Meanwhile, Duke has to go back to Death Valley and call a tow truck for his car, RIP.

I sure hope he got PTO during this stunt and isn’t going home to a pink slip.

I’m not sure of Dukes life or anything going on with Duke. I’m sure the thing about Serenity is him joking because we have all forgotten about that girl by this point...but also...is Duke...still living in the Tenderloin? The crime rate is very, very high and the ground isn’t solid, so it will liquefy if there’s an Earthquake, but it is one of the few places in the Bay Area that doesn’t light on fire every year. He has that going for him.

I just really hope Duke moves out of the Tenderloin one of these days, he needs a better life.

Meanwhile, Rebecca does one last crime.

This is like a post-epidemic reaction to a hug, but in 2002(3?).

I don’t think I’ll miss Rebecca too much. Wanted to like her more, but she was under-utilized, like most of the characters on Yugioh. Not even just talking girl characters here--most characters on Yugioh are super under-utilized, just Tristan Wallflowers doing nothing, but also being selectively OP as hell about very specific things they never, ever need to do.

Speaking of the devil:

Yugi...just saved his entire company...

But Mokuba is just has to make sure to make it seem like they owed Mokuba and not the other way around. Just in case.

So off they go on this massive plane. It’s probably more to do with the length of the trip as to why the plane is so big but also...

This plane is overcompensating.

But before we analyze that, lets close the book on Seto Kaiba’s very short therapy arc. Overall, it was a nice distraction, but I can see why people call it a filler arc, as it really doesn’t affect...anything going on in the major plotlines, which makes me think it could have been a movie or a game or something. But overall, it’s not bad, it’s just not what you’d expect if you were a Western audience.

Like I’m preaching to the choir, but typically, Western stories are entirely plot focused, and so our arcs always give or take away from that plot. But in a Eastern story arc, it may instead be character focused, where the climax is a character evolving or coming to some sort of cathartic realization, which this arc was, in a big way. We still had some plot, because this is a Shonen, but overall it was about characters, and specifically whether or not Leon and his bro would reconcile or change--which they did.

We did get to see a little more growth on Seto in that he...didn’t go bonkers and hallucinate during a card game. It’s been a while since we’ve had him not do that. Seto was very chill this arc, which makes sense, it was a very chill slice of life arc for everyone involved.

So, next we move on to the next one, which bro has informed me...is

still not Bakura.

According to Bro, the next arc didn’t even air in the Japanese version of the show? Like he’s got a lot of spicy Yugioh headcanons so he could be wrong (He did tell me that he thought that Zigfried was Seto Kaiba’s ex boyfriend when he saw this as a kid which...that sure is a way to interpret this arc, and it probably wasn’t just my little brother who went down that thought tube there...)

(Bro Note: To be fair, I didn’t watch much of this arc as a kid.)

But he says the next arc was originally a movie. But they released it in the States as episodes to be part of S5, just to put more episodes in there. Which, if he’s correct, makes it seem like we’re getting like the Mulan 2 experience kind of shoved in between this arc and the next

But um..

according to bro it has virtually no card games.

I’m so used to only capping 10 minutes an episode, what?

Satisfied, Part 38

First

She woke up with a groan and rubbed her eyes. Someone, probably Chloe, had tucked her into bed. She smiled faintly and sat up.

A glance at her phone found a text from Chloe saying she’d gotten home safely, a text from Jason asking if she was okay (really subtle), and a text from Damian asking if she wanted to talk.

She closed her eyes, letting her phone drop to her side. She didn’t really want to talk about anything, she’d already cried herself out of tears the night before and she didn’t intend on doing that again anytime soon.

She glanced at her work. She kinda needed to get a move on, the Wayne Gala was steadily approaching, but she didn’t really have any motivation to do that. She didn’t feel like being productive at all, actually.

What she wanted, really, was a distraction. She mulled over her options. Most of her hobbies also felt like work, from designing to baking, so… what could she do?

Oh!

She pulled up a chat.

Definitelyforgottosleep: wanna hang out today

She barely had to wait for an answer.

Coffeeismygirlfriend: Sure! I’ll be there soon.

She got up and went to the bathroom to get ready, only to see the dried blood on her floor. She bit her cheek and then walked to the door. She glanced back in it’s direction and smiled when she realized her counter covered it. Good. She could deal with that later, then. She didn’t feel like cleaning.

Marinette smiled as she opened the door an hour later, fully ready.

Tim smiled. “Hey! Ready to do some work?”

She grinned and rushed past him, hooking her arm with his. “Nope!”

He blinked confusedly as he allowed her to drag him along. “Uhhhh this wasn’t expected.”

“I can see that. You work too much anyways.”

Tim groaned. “Not you, too! I thought you understood!”

“Not saying it’s a bad thing, but I don’t want to do work today.”

He looked at her like she was insane.

She grinned and pulled him into an arcade that she’d seen a few times on patrol. “Behold! I’m gonna teach you how to have fun!”

He raised his eyebrows slightly. “I know how to have fun.”

“Mmm,” she said, not agreeing or disagreeing.

They both pulled out their wallets and then eyed each other warily. Marinette crossed her arms over her chest.

“I’m the one who wanted to come.”

“I’m the one with more money.”

She rolled her eyes and, however reluctantly, put her money away. He had a point. He probably wouldn’t even register the loss.

He smiled like he’d won something and handed over his credit card. “Uhhhh just as many points as you can give us, I guess?”

The clerk looked exhausted as she nodded, handing over the plastic cards.

And, with that, they were off.

She was better at most of the straight video games. He complained about difficult controls, but she was pretty sure he just wasn’t used to playing on consoles. It made sense, he didn’t really seem the type to play video games in his off time (if he even had any offtime, of course).

Still, he gave her a pout every time he lost. “You’re cheating.”

“Yeah. I’m cheating on this game that I’ve literally never played before in my life. You’ve caught me.”

He huffed. “We’re playing something else.”

Then they moved onto games based on sports. Were they maybe a bit too good at these types of games? A bit too quick? Yes. But neither of them intended on saying anything because oh cool tickets. Still, it became obvious they had different skill sets: Tim had her beat at basketball and Marinette never lost at skeeball. They never learned who was better at air hockey because one of their hits sent the puck flying into someone’s head and they had to run away before they got sued.

Next was games of luck…

She got the lowest possible amount of tickets. Five times in a row.

Marinette kicked the machine and then cursed at the pain. “THIS IS STUPID.”

Tim, however, was trying his hardest not to laugh. “This shouldn’t even be possible.”

“Helpful,” she muttered.

He gave a small shrug as he stepped up to the machine. “Maybe it’s just rigged or something,” he said. She would have been inclined to agree... if he didn’t get a jackpot on his first try.

She huffed at his smug grin. “Shut up.”

“I didn’t say anything.”

“I could feel you judging me,” she muttered, giving his shoulder a small shove.

He grinned. “I’d never.”

She rolled her eyes. “New type of game!”

After a bit they managed to find some co-op games, and she was delighted to find that the two of them together made for a pretty formidable team. Admittedly, some of the games weren’t technically supposed to be played as co-op, but who was going to stop them from getting as many tickets as possible from this fishing game by working together? Really it was the designer’s fault for not taking that into consideration.

They ran out of credits about every hour, but did they care? Not really. Mostly because Tim never told her when this happened, usually waiting until she was distracted with a game to go recharge their cards. Did Marinette notice the fact that their cards were seemingly never ending or that sometimes they would randomly have a lot more credits? Maybe, but she was enjoying herself enough to avoid the guilt at least temporarily.

Eventually, though, the arcade was coming to a close.

They had bags upon bags of tickets hanging off their arms, but this would become their downfall. Despite being smart enough to find ways to get the most tickets at every game, they apparently weren’t smart enough to think ahead and were now struggling to untangle the tickets.

“How did you even do this, bean?”

She knocked her head against the machine she’d been leaning on. “Less talking, more untangling,” she muttered irritably, struggling with a ticket that somehow had gotten a knot in it.

They ignored the workers’ glares as they finally managed to hand over the little slip with their ticket count on it. Despite how much they’d gotten, they were forced to go to the cheapest section.

She pouted. “Man, we were cheated.”

“We could just buy the stuff, it’s a lot cheaper that way.”

She turned her gaze on him, an incredulous look on her face. “Of course not! Where’s the fun in that?”

“You would actually get what you wanted…?”

She huffed. “Boring.”

“You just said you felt cheated.”

“That’s part of the experience, Timothy.”

He rolled his eyes and they split off in search of what they could afford. Her eyes landed on the vigilante merch and a smile came to her face as she got a plan. She quickly rang herself up and headed to the bathroom to change.

She grinned at him as she stepped out in a Red Robin themed hoodie, clutching a plush version of the vigilante to her chest.

Because what’s the point of knowing your friends’ secret identities if you can’t mess with them?

He blushed, his grip tightening on the bag of prizes in his hand.

Marinette tried not to laugh as she looped her arm with his again, pulling him out into the streets. She really didn’t know where they were going, but she didn’t want to just leave when he was looking so flustered. What a wasted opportunity!

“So, Red Robin fan?” He asked after a bit.

She smiled. “Of course! He’s super smart! I mean, I know Batman is supposed to be the greatest detective of all time or whatever but, considering ages and experience, I think that Red Robin is probably going to have him beat in… I don’t know, a few years?”

Poor Tim looked like he was about to pass out, his face was so red.

She smiled and sat down with him on a park bench. People were thinning around them as night approached, but she didn’t care. What was going to happen? They get attacked? That would only really be a bad time for the criminal.

“But I’ve actually met the guy a few times. He’s really nice and genuinely cares about his job from what I’ve seen. Don’t think there’s anything bad to say about him, honestly.”

He grinned, resting an arm around her shoulders.

“He’s alright, I guess.” An odd light sparkled in his eyes and he reached into his bag. He shuffled through his things for a bit and then held up a mug…

There was a picture of Ladybug on it.

“I think she’s cooler, though.”

Marinette fought the urge to bury her face in his shoulder as a blush came to her face. Ah. So this has backfired on her, apparently. All she could manage was a quiet: “Oh?”

“Yep! I think it’s really cool that she came over from Paris, because she really didn’t have to do that. No one would have said anything if she’d disappeared when Hawkmoth was defeated, but instead she decided to help Gotham!”

They were alone, now. This was great, because she didn’t need anyone else seeing her looking like a tomato. She fiddled with the Red Robin plushie in her lap for an excuse to look away.

A hand rested on her cheek and she looked up to see him. He was still a little flushed from her own compliments, but now there was a small grin playing at his lips. “Everything alright, bean? You look a little bit flushed, are you coming down with something?”

She opened her mouth to give an excuse before something struck her. Tim wasn’t stupid, she hadn’t been lying when she had said so. He couldn’t genuinely be wondering if she was sick, the smug look on his face made that obvious. So the only reason he’d be acting like this was if he was teasing her, which meant…

“You know?”

His eyes widened slightly and then flicked to the side. His hand lowered. “And I’m guessing you do, too?”

She nodded almost imperceptibly, closing her eyes. “What gave me away?”

“I was kinda suspicious during the food fight, you were a bit too good at it for a normal civvie, but I really figured it out because of the fox necklace. The one time she wears it is the one time I’ve seen you ever have it? It was just too much of a coincidence.”

She swore in French. She’d forgotten about that! She was going to start wearing the fox miraculous casually to alleviate suspicion, but Red Robin hadn’t come by much after that and she hadn’t been completely sure it was Tim.

“And how’d you figure me out?”

She hesitated. “It was obvious, honestly.”

“Damian?”

She blinked. “What? How’d you know?”

“You wouldn’t lie to protect anyone else.”

Fair enough. “Damian and I sparred, I recognized his fight style.”

He nodded and pulled her into his side a bit more.

She leaned into his touch a little bit, slinging an arm over his stomach lazily. “What do you think I should do?” She mumbled.

He didn’t bother to ask what she was talking about. “Honestly? I don’t like you going out into the field again. You’re not well…”

“But?”

“But the Rogues are unstable and I don’t like the idea of trying to fight them all off without any knowledge of what they were going to do.”

She nodded slightly. That made sense. “That’s about what I figured, too.”

“I don’t like you going out into the field again. You’re not well,” he repeated, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. “The rest of them are probably going to be even more against the idea than me.”

“I’ll convince them.”

“Can you?”

Her head shot up to look at him and she bit at the inside of her cheek. He had a point, unfortunately. Jason was going to be against it, Bruce would probably be cautious of her because of his whole anti-murder thing, Dick would probably lean towards not letting her out again as well. She thought she might be able to convince Damian, but then again he was the only one who knew the full extent of what had happened over the past week.

She sighed and leaned into him again, closing her eyes. She buried her face in his shoulder. “Can you help?”

“Maybe,” he said softly, and she knew immediately that whatever he was going to say she wasn’t going to like it. “If you go to therapy regularly they’d probably be more okay with it.”

She cringed. There was that suggestion again: therapy. It was almost like she needed it or something. Still, she felt her normal excuse fall off her tongue: “What, am I supposed to tell them who I am?”

“Yep.”

She frowned.

“All of us have a regular therapist who sees us in costume and we talk about the job.”

“Will she tell Bruce everything I say?”

“Nope! She only has to tell him if we’re going to hurt ourselves or others.” He gave a short chuckle. “More than necessary, I mean.”

Marinette sighed. “But…”

Man, she was really running out of excuses now.

“It’s really the only way they’ll agree, bean.”

He was right, she just didn’t like it. She didn’t agree out loud, that would only make it feel more real. Instead, she curled into his side.

“We should probably head back to my apartment at some point. It’s going to get cold soon.”

“Yeah, probably,” he agreed quietly.

They didn’t move from where they were for a long time, content to lean into each other for warmth.

And, when they woke up the next morning, they decided to pretend they didn’t notice the giant sign over their necks that declared them under Rogue protection.

Concept for (my) Doomguy + some headcanons/extra info below the cut!

A lot of the design (mainly the haircut currently) was inspired by one of @dukesnukes‘ Doomguy designs (specifically Buddy) - I wanted to go for something similar but without just being a straight rip-off if that makes sense??

Anyway uhh here’s some headcanons I have for him + his Praetor Suit

- His Praetor Suit is a bastard mix of Night Sentinel and Maykr technology, as well as his own handiwork; it’s specifically engineered to be “alive” in a very weird way. A lot of the machinery + circuitry is “organic” in that it strongly resembles organic tissues like muscle fibers, nerves, and blood vessels.

- Speaking of the Praetor Suit; it’s an obligate carnivore. Kind of, sort of. It’s not really “alive” in the sense that it’s a straight-up animal or biological organism, but mainly because it’s built to be able to “feed” upon the essence of slain demons, by repurposing their residual energy into physical matter. Which in turn is put to use as ammo for his weapons, and as energy “armor plates” to further reinforce itself.

- Much of the functionality is controlled via brainwaves since it’s more or less directly connected to Doomguy’s nervous system via a neural port at the base of the skull. All he has to do is think it, and he can do stuff like activate parts of his HUD, or use his Flamebelcher. The suit does, of course, have manual controls, buttons, and clasps for when he needs to get out of his armor when the neural connection is severed for whatever reason.

- His eyes are brown-green, with small flecks of gold around them, as well as a glowing red ring situated around the pupil. The gold flecks + the red ring are a side effect of the Divinity Machine as well as being exposed to a fuck load of demonic + Argent energy over long periods of time.

- He has tapetum lucidum, which basically means his eyes have a membrane at the back to reflect light to help him see better. (Also be warned for eye/medical gore if you search up images of this.)

- He’s selectively mute, thanks to a combination to a lack of use/speech over a incredibly long period of time, as well as trauma induced by the Divinity Machine’s blessing. He CAN speak, but it hurts his throat rather quickly, so instead he usually speaks by either ASL or having VEGA speak for him. When he DOES speak, it’s incredibly hoarse and sounds almost monstrous.

- In his Original Universe (a version of the events of the OG Doom 1 + 2 + 64 that’s also mixed with the events of the Machinegames Wolfenstein games), Doomguy was originally just a normal human being. Although he did undergo extensive training to be some kind of unspecified Spec-Ops soldier, so he has an extensive amount of tactical knowledge that almost rivals that of a Spartan. He is also biologically related to B.J. Blazkowicz.

- Thanks to the blessing of the Divinity Machine, he’s basically a demi-god in terms of sheer physical strength and speed. TECHNICALLY, it’s really just advanced Maykr technology extensively augmenting his body, but due to the divine nature of the Maykrs, he is by extension divine himself.

- His name is Y’shua. Sometimes it’s simplified as either Yeshua or simply Joshua, whatever is easier for people to pronounce.

So, the "Justice League" finally got its own movie, eh? Oh, that thing from 2017 was just trash. It's gone. We don't need to look at it anymore.

But in all seriousness, it's great people called out for the Zack Snyder cut of the movie and actually got it! And, yes, it is a vast improvement over the Joss Whedon cut.

Now, my feelings about the DCEU have been pretty divided:

I actually did enjoy "Man of Steel" and found Superman to be relatable and likable for once (I'm not a Superman fan and don't come for me)

"Wonder Woman" was very entertaining and easily the best entry for me in the movie series so far.

"Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice" was a hot mess. Lots of good ideas but it was executed poorly. It felt kind of cheesy at times, especially that whole "Save Martha" thing. Jesse Eisenburg is not a convincing Lex Luthor. Ben Affleck is not a good actor and is a terrible Batman/Bruce Wayne. He's not as bad as George Clooney, but he's not much better either.

"Wonder Woman 1984" was a massive glow-down. Poor quality writing, Maxwell Lord was a weak villain, Cheetah was laughable, and the ending was so goddamn corny! Not to mention, it took ages for anything interesting to happen, and what was the deal with Steve Trevor possessing another dude's body? I mean...what?

Haven't seen "Suicide Squad" in its entirety but I do know and have seen enough to decide that it's a huge misstep. Haven't seen "Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)" either but I have some interest in it so perhaps someday.

Haven't watched "Aquaman" but probably will eventually but I'm just not very motivated to see it. I like Jason Mamoa as Aquaman/Arthur Curry, but...I don't know. The trailers didn't really grab my attention.

The 2017 Joss Whedon version of "Justice League" was terrible -- worse than "Batman v Superman," worse than "Wonder Woman 1984." I thought the movie moved too quickly, lacked proper character development, and had some bad CGI (I mean, Mustache Gate, am I right?)

Onto the Synder Cut for "Justice League!" Spoilers ahead, of course:

These are really a collection of thoughts, opinions, and observations I had while watching the movie. I have only seen the 2017 film once and honestly don't want to watch it ever again, not even to "refresh my memory" of some details.

Steppenwolf

Steppenwolf was such a pitiful villain in the Whedon Cut. The CGI for him was terrible, and he looked like some weird dude in armor. His personality and motives were paper thin as well. He was a throw-away, token villain, and the only things memorable about him was his name and voice.

In the Snyder Cut, not only was Steppenwolf's CGI much more refined, his character design was imposing. His armor seemed to be alive, too, always shifting slightly, this way and that, which was an impressive sight. His motives, while nothing too deep or extraordinary, gave him a little more depth: he pissed off Darkseid and had to make up for it, and was clearly afraid of what could happen to him if he failed.

The name and voice obviously were still memorable but combined with the other improvements to his character, they were icing on the cake.

That being said, I don't think Steppenwolf is as intriguing or even remotely sympathetic as Loki and Thanos in the MCU.

Darkseid

Was Darkseid even mentioned in the Whedon cut? I can't remember and I don't want to watch that shitty movie again just to find out. However, I don't recall Darkseid making an appearance or even being spoken of in the 2017 version. Now, I haven't read DC (or Marvel) comics, so I don't know a lot about the guy, but he is supposedly one of the more iconic villains.

His motives are pretty simple, though: command and conquer. There isn't a lot of depth so far in the movies but he does pose a much larger threat than Steppenwolf did. You could tell Steppenwolf was intimidated by Darkseid, who was about as cold and menacing as they come. He's a complete villain in that regard, having no emotions and only seeking power for himself.

He looked great in the Snyder Cut. He was actually really fucking scary-looking. He made the beefcake Steppenwolf look like a puppy.

I'm glad that Darkseid made an appearance, even if he didn't fight the Justice League. It alludes to a much broader story, as well as foreshadows an epic boss fight down the line -- assuming the Snyder Cut is popular enough to convince the studios to make a direct sequel and not just abandon things in favor of some sort of soft reboot.

Superman/Clark Kent/Henry Cavill/Mustache Gate

Let's get this out of the way: Henry Cavill is hot af.

Ok, now that we got that out of the way, hooray for Snyder for getting rid of those nasty reshoot scenes involving Henry's CGI'd mouth! Can't say I missed them, you know? I mean, in the 2017 Whedon Cut, you could always spot reshoot scenes based on whether or not Henry's mouth looked normal and totally strange.

I think the 2017 movie had Superman grab Batman by the neck and ask, "Tell me: Do you bleed?" I'm relieved that was removed from the Synder Cut because it added too much of an evil tone to Superman, and we could clearly tell he was most upset with Batman upon being revived.

One massive problem with the 2017 movie was that it made every member of the Justice League look like bumbling idiots without Superman's help. It was downright embarrassing and unrealistic. I mean, you're telling me that Wonder Woman, a goddess, can't take on Steppenwolf? Or Victor Stone, a cyborg with incredible abilities? Making Superman key to winning isn't the problem, it's how it was done in the 2017 movie. He's already OP but that shouldn't mean his comrades have to be useless in comparison.

Superman was allowed to be OP in the Snyder Cut without making his team look incompetent. Like in the Avengers movies, everyone in the Justice League had a purpose and all of them worked together to defeat Steppenwolf. Superman obviously was key to winning, but, again, it wasn't like he was the only capable one during the battle.

I did like the black suit. It's kind of ominous but also very cool at the same time. But is it also foreshadowing something? I don't know...I haven't read the comics so I really don't have any idea lol.

Batman/Bruce Wayne/Batfleck

One glaring issue I still have is Ben Affleck is a mediocre actor at best and he's a terrible Bruce Wayne/Batman. I mean, they couldn't have found anyone else? Someone with, like, good acting abilities?

Martian Manhunter

This whole time -- THIS WHOLE GOTDAMM TIME -- Martian Manhunter was hiding in plain sight! General Swanwick, who I remember from "Man of Steel," IS Martian Manhunter. I didn't see that coming. I mean, I knew Martian Manhunter would appear in the Snyder Cut but I didn't know he'd have an alternate identity, let alone that of an existing character in the DCEU.

As much as I did like seeing him, I am glad he didn't play a big part because the movie already has plenty of characters as is, and introducing yet another one could have slowed things down and taken away from developing the plot.

The Runtime/Pacing

I mentioned already that the Whedon Cut felt rushed and needed much more time to develop its characters and plot. While I had doubts about whether or not making "Justice League" four hours long would be a good idea, it turns out that it was just what the story needed.

Character development was actually existent, and Cyborg/Victor Stone received a detailed backstory, and Flash/Barry Allen got some extra tidbits added to his character's story/background as well.

I actually thought Victor was a fascinating (if a bit tragic) character in the Whedon cut and was disappointed that he just sort of, like, popped up and fought alongside the other Justice League members with the tiniest amount of depth.

Despite an epic 4-hour runtime, it didn't feel slow, nor did it feel like any scenes were "filler." Every scene had a purpose and kept the story moving at a steady, comprehensible pace. It felt more like a 2.5-3 hour movie, honestly, which is a feat since pacing can often be one of a film's biggest issues ("Avengers: Endgame" also accomplished this feat with its 3-hour runtime feeling more like 2-2.5 hours but with no negative side effects of that). Breaking the movie into chapters, including an epilogue was a tad strange because it's not a very common thing, but I think it helped break up the epic 4 hours into separate, manageable but still cohesive pieces. Also, they helped easily transition from one portion to the next smoothly without any awkward cuts.

The Flash/Barry Allen/Ezra Miller

Barry still amused me in the Whedon Cut. He brought some good-natured humor and charm to the movie, preventing it from being too brooding and intense.

I think Ezra is a talented actor and does well in the Barry Allen role but he is, unfortunately, a problematic person. I mean, if he gets recast, he gets recast but hopefully, they pick someone else who has some acting abilities worth noting (i.e. Not a Ben Affleck type of actor)

The Final Battle

It was a huge improvement over the 2017 cut, as everyone was key to winning the final battle, not just Superman. It is meant to be a team of costumed heroes defeating a villain, not just one OP member of the team outdoing everyone else.

That being said, I felt that the final battle was a little bit anti-climatic. I don't know what it was but I just thought that it would be longer? I expected more to happen? More fighting? Not sure how to describe it, but I do feel like it wasn't as impressive as it could have been.

The Epilogue

A dystopian future involving an evil Superman and Joker somehow working WITH Batman was just...crazy. I mean, evil Superman, I can believe, but Joker and Batman working together (even reluctantly) is quite a sight.

Based on what I've been reading, this nightmare Bruce has could be setting up not one but two sequels for "Justice League." I would like to see how things will play out even if things get kind of dark. I'm getting the impression that Darkseid will kill Lois Lane, thus breaking Superman emotionally and making him compliant. That is unless Bruce intervenes in this timeline and prevents that from happening...but at the expense of his own life. Oh dear...

I definitely enjoyed the Zack Snyder version of "Justice League," and would definitely watch it again and again and again. I already have forgotten the majority of the Whedon Cut, and after seeing Synder's version, I think the 2017 movie will be rendered null and void. I hope it is just expelled from the DCEU canon entirely. That, and we get the "Justice League" sequels, preferably from Zack Snyder (Say what you want but I think he is a pretty good director for the most part and seems to really care about this work).

I honestly want to see a fight between the Justice League and Darkseid because I think that's what we're trying to build up to, and seeing as how Darkseid is one of the legendary villains in the DC comics, I would be extremely disappointed if this doesn't come to pass.

Also, as much as I like Batman/Bruce Wayne, seeing him sacrifice himself to save the team, including Lois and thus Superman's sanity, would be something else. It would bring everyone even closer together, for one, and I think that the negativity shared between Batman and Superman in the past would be completely forgiven. I'm not saying there isn't forgiveness now, but dying to save Superman's wife would change everything....if that makes sense? Does it make sense? I'm terrible at explaining my thoughts sometimes.
