With the upcoming release of "THE MARVELS", I find myself ruminating on a topic that I have brought up before.  I'm sorry, but I cannot help it.  The origin tales of both Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel and Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel were played out in their own respective solo productions.  Yet, the MCU had only allowed Monica Rambeau's origin as Photon to be played out in someone else's solo production - namely "WANDAVISION".
I've asked this before and I'll ask again.  Why?  Why was Monica denied her own solo production before the release of "THE MARVELS"?  I can only assume that this denial had originated with the MCU and Disney Studios' own racism.  I've read other explanations for this, but they all came up empty, as far as I'm concerned.

People saying “She Hulk predicted the ‘misogynists/haters’ reaction to it” as if Marvel Studios and Disney haven’t been actively staging and provoking and exaggerating this sort of thing to frame themselves as “your friendly neighborhood woke corporation” and get y’all to defend their work from criticism and give them your money. And as if whining about people who hate your work IN your work isn’t, like, the most pathetic thing imaginable to do as a writer.

I hope the success of Nimona and Across the Spiderverse as well as the high anticipation for Barbie teaches studios that if everyone involved in the project loves and is passionate about what they are creating then audiences will see that and love it too. (Oh and also that animation is good and not everything should be live action). We don’t want 12 mediocre movies dropping every minute. We want 2-3 brilliant movies that will make you feel a full range of emotions and leave you thinking about it weeks if not months later. A movie that is clearly a love letter to the fans. A movie where the actors actually get to work closely with the production team and whose input can actually influence the characters and make them better for the fans. This is what will make them money because people will pay to go and see them, buy the merch, buy dvds and talk about them. Disney especially should take note after cancelling Nimona.

Hey I have a question, is it wrong that I think that Nimona was solely canceled because of the COVID-19 pandemic and not because it had queer representation?

I hate it when people hate a film because it's from a stupid studio and they put all the blame on the artists and other people they work with and curse their work instead of blaming the owners and corporatists of the studio, man they did their best, it's not their fault that this shit sucks them in!!!

So you know that thing Netflix and others have done/are doing with scrapping finished projects for tax write offs? Yeah, I hate that too.
But I'm not sure if we should be focused on eliminating the tax loophole (which I suspect might be hard to precisely close, cause taxes are like that) or on not letting them erase the projects from existence when they do it? In the latter case, where do folks think the film/rights should go?
*Don't know how projects are financed these days, or how it would work, sorry.
**Again, not a fully worked out idea, would probably make the film a LLC or similar.
***If the studio originally bought the project off someone else, obviously right of first refusal to them.

Getting Rid of the Sokovia Accords
In the DisneyPlus streaming series, “SHE-HULK: ATTORNEY AT LAW”, the MCU finally got rid of the problematic Sokovia Accords when attorney Matt Murdock aka Daredevil revealed the Accords had finally been repealed.  Considering my six-year criticism of how the MCU had introduced this legislation in “CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR” (one of my least favorite MCU films), utilized it in productions like “AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D.”, “ANT-MAN & THE WASP”, “THE AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR”, “WANDAVISION” and “THE FALCON AND THE WINTER SOLDIER”; I was very happy to learn this about the Accords’ fate.
However . . . I find myself questioning Disney and Marvel Films’ latest decision regarding the Sokovia Accords.  I have problems with its repeal or eradication.  I have a problem with how Disney/Marvel Films got rid of it - via a throwaway line.  For years, MCU showrunner Kevin Feige tried to tell us that there were two sides to the Sokovia Accords.  I had called bullshit to that idea due to my belief that the Accords violated the U.S. Constitutional and the constitutional rights of enhanced people overall and not just the Avengers.
I had hoped that the MCU would get rid of the Accords by exploring the issue of how the Accords violated the rights of many.  But the franchise never did this.  Instead, the MCU rid itself of the Accords with a quick line - one that would enable the franchise to avoid discussing how WRONG the Accords were in the first place.  All I can say is . . . Feige and the Disney suits are a bunch of cowards.

Holy hell I have never seen anything more embarrassingly lacking in any sort of self-awareness whatsoever as Marvel Studios in the finale of She-Hulk portraying themselves as being run by a soulless, uncaring, and shallow corporate computer that has no real moral fortitude or will or artistry of its own, simply stealing others work and changing on a whim when ordered to appease those above it.

A lot of Dreamworks fans are proud of their villain and and looking down on Disney villains just because they don't look like "real villains".
I think, villain in Disney style is not that bad. They don't look like "real villains" and that's why I like them. You see, the bad guys in the real world don't need big cloak to show how evil they are. My favorites is Dawn Bellwether from Zootopia. She's from marginal group (prey animal) who want to use her tyranny to discriminate predators and rule the city.
But I admit that Disney getting downgrade lately. In other side, Dreamworks realeased Puss in Boots 2 and I enjoy it.
I don't know why. Is Disney too much making remake some 2D movies into live action? did they run out of ideas? is this the influence of the homophobic people because Disney show LGBTQ+ representation more open lately? I heard Disney fired the scriptwriter, is true or not?

My favourite thing on the internet:
When a person who sees some petty fandom war going on and is either in both fandoms, one, the other or none at all and creates a depiction of fanart/fan fiction of both fandoms being super friendly with eachother and it brings people together away from the shit that is cringe culture, gatekeeping and general fandom toxicity.
The harmony of crossovers being depicted as not a ‘X vs Y’ but a “Nice to meet you I’m from X” “Nice to meet you too I’m from Y, wanna be friends?” “Yeah sure!”
It’s just a thing that needs to be done more.
Same as mixing genres from a more “serious” one to something funny, wholesome or silly.
Never had so much fun putting a xenomoph in a Sims alien bachelorette challenge and putting Samara Morgan in a house with two other ghosts and a drunk werewolf. Just 👌 lovely nonsense, I am here for it.

Hey, so I made this meme to vent my frustrations on movies that I hate that everyone else likes:
10. Once Upon a Studio; I haven’t seen the movie but I hate it because of it’s popularity and how people say it was the only good thing to come out of Disney in 2023 and that they shouldn’t have made Wish and just this instead and nothing else for Disney 100
9. Puss in Boots The Last Wish; I also haven’t seen this film either but I hate it because it started the “Disney Bad, Dreamworks Good” meme as well as the fact that it was used to promote homophobia and conservatism
8. Nimona; Once again, I haven’t seen this movie but hate it because it was brought back out of cancellation solely to spite Disney and is used as a symbol by their Hatedom.
7. Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back; I hate it because it’s too dark and doesn’t have the same feeling that Episode 4 and 6 did (plus I hate the franchise in general because of the Disney/Sequel Hatedom)
6. Everything Everywhere All at Once; I hate it because it is nothing but a blatant ripoff of the Matrix and Inception that defends abusive parenting
5. Spider-Man Far From Home; I hate it because of the film’s version of Mysterio and the fact that it rubs salt in the wound by serving as a successor to a later movie on this list
4. Captain America Civil War; I hate it because it had a lame (at the time) villain and I hated the crappy ending and the fate of Team Cap
3. Oppenheimer; I hate it because it is a slow paced movie that is hard to follow, boring, and only appeals to film bros and neurotypical people
2. Avengers Infinity War; I hated it because of how they adapted Thanos and the ending, also, it suffered the Frozen affect
1. Avengers Endgame; I hate it because of the pointless five year time jump, using time travel instead of dimension travel, no Hugh Jackman cameo, no Death, and how it basically ruined Iron Man
Tumblr media
Of course, these are just my opinions, so please take them with a grain of salt

"Disney needs to make more risks in their movies. We are tired of the same storylines played out over and over again in newer movies! It makes Disney movies super generic and predictable! I hate that Disney does this."
Says the guy who considers tangled to be the best Disney movie ever, when that movie was painfully generic and was the safest movie Disney made out of the movies they released since 2010. Also hates movies like encanto and Moana when they are more original than their fav movie.
