First Take: The Marvels - two out of three ain't bad
Spoiler free as usual. Because Goose would eat me.
SYNOPSIS: Carol Danvers gets her powers entangled with those of Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau, forcing them to work together to save the universe.
Ah, the sequel the internet wrote off when it was greenlit. The Marvels is one of the MCU projects which has suffered from Covid delays the most - July 2022 initially, then November, then February 2023, July, and finally settling here - as a direct knock on of all the TV shows on Disney+ (including the vital setup of this movie in Ms Marvel and WandaVision) being displaced due to Covid shutdowns. But even with no cast able to promote it until the early hours of its release day, The Marvels has some promise, but its execution does have some minor quibbles.
youtube
Nia DaCosta of 2021 Candyman reboot fame is in the big directors chair (And also co-writer with Megan McDonnell and Elissa Karasik) on her first major Hollywood, big budget film - and she does an admirable job turning in a rare Marvel film under two hours - a tight 1 hour 45 minutes - that is very up and down. Some elements excel, others feel like hasty rewrites, and some ideas feel a little out of place, those who have seen the film will likely know which sequences I am referring to. It is shot really well by Sean Bobbitt, as any MCU project would be at this stage (with the IMAX kit - something which must be a blessing with the film currently taking the screenings that should've been occupied with Dune 2 had the strike not happened) and of course, the Kamala character isn't the only thing making the leap from Disney+ to cinema screens, as Laura Karpman provides the music just like she did for the first season of What If and Ms Marvel.
Tumblr media
Where this film is saved from the depths of another MCU rant is its cast, and it is obvious that Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris and Iman Vellani get along well, as the chemistry this trio have is damn good. On top of these leads we've got Zawe Ashton, Gary Lewis, Park Seo-joon joining in, with Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur and Saagar Shaikh returning from Ms Marvel, and of course, for the first time since Secret Invasion was torn apart, Samuel L Jackson is back in an MCU film as Nick Fury - along with a few MAJOR cameos throughout the film that *finally* set off future development into Phase 5 (and beyond). It might've been Marvel's worst opener to date, partly because of the strike and the internet's response to Larson - but for the first time in a while, I can see where this is going. Over to you Shawn Levy - bring us Deadpool 3 in a state that's worth the wait.
THE VERDICT
The Marvels is a perfectly fine - not a great - MCU film that gets the job done in under 2 hours. Had SAG/AFTRA not been on strike it would've fared better at the box office, but considering the impact this film - and particularly the last 10 minutes have - on the rest of the Multiverse Saga to come, off the back of Loki's season 2 finale it feels like Kevin Feige, once again, had a long term plan... but we just didn't know it yet.
RATING: 3.5/5

Hi Crimsie I just realized that the rambling I sent you yesterday sounds like a request or something and I know you're not taking any rn so I just want to let you know it was not!! It was just me whoring out loud and sharing my thoughts 😭 I should have been more clear sorry!! Also it was true what I said, when I was watching MoM I thought 'no way Michael Waldron and Kevin Feige read the darkhold by user themidnightcrimson and said: This is it. This is the energy.' And I'm grateful for that god bless 🙏
No it’s absolutely fine I was just still processing what you said and getting around to answering it!😂 There’s some parts of Darkhold that don’t make sense now but yeah ngl there were some common themes. I may or may not be considering doing more parts to the Darkhold about Wanda traveling to the different universes like in MoM to find reader and the twins

Jimmy Fallon // Sebastian Stan
Summary: “Y/n Y/l/n, costars alongside Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie in season two of the Falcon and the Winter Solider.”
The Interviews // Masterlist
Tumblr media
You had never done one of these talk shows before, the idea of it being this intimidating was an understatement to say the least. Your pits were like waterfalls from the constant sweating you were doing backstage—fighting the looming panic attack off like a fucking champion.
“Y/n Y/l/n, costars alongside Sebastian Stan and Anthony Mackie in season two of the Falcon and the Winter Solider.” It was insane—hearing those words come out of Jimmy Fallons mouth. At the applause your manager assured you it was time to walk out—‘go get em’ she said with this huge smile on her face. So proud. Sebastian and Anthony looked at you with giant smiles as they cheered you on. Sebastians eyes locking onto you as you sat between them. A gentle and subtle “you’ll be fine” leaving his mouth as the applause dyed down.
“Y/n! How are you it’s so good to finally meet you!” Jimmy smiled as he watched you fumble with your dress.
“It’s amazing to finally meet you! I feel so weird being here! I watch clips of your show on YouTube all the time and to think I’ll see myself one day is crazy.” You were honest as the audience chuckled. Like a loud synchronised hum.
“Unlike Anthony and Sebastian here, you’ve only been in the Marvel universe for this particular season?” You sat up a little straighter. Sebastian looked at your for your answer, his eyes so blue.
“I think I’m incredibly fortunate to be able to work with some of the seasoned pros—I’m coming into the with absolutely no background in acting or any sort so, so Kevin Feige really took a chance on me and I’m just hoping I did the roll justice.”
“And for you Anthony, Sebastian.” Jimmy questioned. “What’s was it like for you to working alongside Y/n?”
“She’s a really talented actress, look—I went up to Kari one day while Seb and Y/n were shooting the one of I think ten? Fight scenes they have together, and I was like “where did you find this girl, where has she been hiding, why are we just seeing her now? Blah blah blah she’s great— and when Kari told me this was Y/n’s first time acting and performing stunts to this degree I was even more intrigued.” Anthony laughed as you blushed, the audience drinking in his story. “So I asked again where they found her and she literally looks at me and goes—Kevin was scouting gyms in the area for you guys to train at and she was on the floor with a client. She’s a trainer.” You laughed when the story of how you met Kevin Feige leaked through Anthony’s own mouth. All three of you laughing.
“Woah, that crazy, imagine just being at work one day and the president of Marvel studios just approaches you.” Jimmy added as you nodded.
“Literally exactly what happened—“
“Sebastian what about you? What was it like to work with Y/n.” Sebastian made you nervous, it was the way he looked at you.
“Y/n’s great, she’s such a blessing to have on set and with our characters there’s a lot of underlying tension and—I wanna say that stereotypical enemies to friendship trope about them that can be really intense sometimes, so I think Y/n handled that well, especially when it came to fight sequences because we started work on those like three months before we actually set foot on set so we’d become pretty close before we even stepped in front of a camera.” You looked at Sebastian with the biggest heart eyes.
“Ever land any actual punches?” Jimmy pressed as you laughed and felt the heat in your cheeks rising.
“Sebastian got me a few times but I think the tally ended up being like 12-8 my way. Anthony and I didn’t really have alot of hand to hand combat even if we did fight alongside each other.”
“There’s a B-roll somewhere of Sebastian just constantly saying sorry for actually making contact with Y/n and there’s a B-roll somewhere of Y/n just holding Sebs head in her hands like ‘oh my gosh, I’m so sorry—‘ the audience laughed as you beamed. Feeling more comfortable sitting in between two of the most amazing men you’d ever been blessed to meet. You and Sebastian had become really close. It was new, but there was a budding romance definitely there. Stolen kisses on set away from cameras, flirtatious lines, intense fight scenes leading you both deeper and deeper down a rabbit hole either of you realised you were in until he had you pressed against the wall of his trailer one day, tongues desperate to get to know each other as you stripped down.
“There’s one scene in particular that’s kinda taking the internet by storm, and that’s In the trailer we can see Bucky gets a moment?” Sebastian laughed as he nodded in response.
“Yes! Bucky does finally get a moment, it’s probably the first time he’s kissed as girl since the 40’s” Sebastian teased. “But he gets that moment and I think in terms of the way Marvel just seem to pull everything off I think they did it well. I think it definitely feeds deeper into the character development of Bucky Barnes and how far he’s willing to go in order to somewhat detach himself from the Winter Solider.”
“And Y/n, for you what was that like?” Sebastian started laughing as Anthony Wheezed, clapping his hands together and into his knees. You sighed and sunk into your chair.
“That Bucky Barnes gets the kiss scene took the longest to film, you’d think it would be like a fight sequence with explosions and gun fire but no—it was the damn kiss because I just couldn’t get my head in the game. So much pressure!”
“I think the take we ended up using was a genuinely annoyed Sebastian just going in for the kiss.” Anthony raised the question to Sebastian and he agreed.
“Yeah! I think the one that made the final cut I was just like screw this it’s making Y/n uncomfortable, shes already nervous, we’ve done this over and over and over again so I kinda just improvised and said what would Bucky really wanna do after having his ass somewhat beat by this woman who’s got him so infatuated—so yeah I kinda just went with it and the way Y/n reacted to it a fed off that somewhat possessive nature of it, I think it really worked out.”
“He really tuned in the god of gymnastics for that one let me tell you—“ the whole audience erupted into hysterics, Jimmy’s team were quick to play a clip of Sebastians portrayal of Lance Tuckers god of gymnastics monologue. Sebastian blushed red. Looking as you as he shook his head. Listening to you laugh. Grabbing your hand and bringing it to his mouth for a kiss. Leaning in to whisper in your ear: “I am the fucking god of gymnastics”
“I have to say, the chemistry between the pair of you is incredible, does that extend outside of work too?”
“Well yeah I mean just like my relationship with Anthony, I think if I ever needed it I’d know Y/n would have that bail money set and ready.” You laughed as Jimmy smiled. The audience thriving.
“Any dates?” The question caught you off guard for a moment but when you looked to Sebastian he’d already answered.
“For now? Theres been only a handful but definitely—yeah for sure I’m sure they’ll be more. I’m talking about Anthony and I just so everyone’s clear.”

Being A Singer Who Is Part Of The Marvel Cast
Pairing: Marvel Cast x reader
Prompt: What it’s like to be a singer who is also a Marvel actress.
Warnings: none! This isn’t really a teen!reader, but it can be!
Side note: I’m using Ari’s music, so just pretend you’re Ari or something😂😂 Should I write imagines about this?
Tumblr media
(Ya’ll already know I had to use my bby Ari😌)
(Gif from Pinterest)
Being a singer and joining the MCU was actually quite nerve wracking.
You weren’t sure if anyone would take you seriously and that everyone would just see you as some singer who got casted into the movie because you were well known.
In fact, Kevin Feige casted you because you represented the character you were auditioning for so well.
You remember your first day on set and how nervous you were to be surrounded by so many talented actors. You kept to yourself and sat by the sidelines while everyone reunited with each other.
I feel like Mark or Robert might come up to you first. They would probably approach you and be all like, “Hey! My kids listen to your music and I have to listen to your voice 24/7! It’s nice to finally meet you!”
Anthony would probably join in and be like, “Aye, I know you from the radio. You sing that one song that’s goes like, ‘I want it, I got it’. Right?”
After some introductions and filming scenes together, you’d feel comfortable with your new friends. Especially after some of them fangirled over you.
Tom (Holland) most definitely fangirled over you, I just feel it😂😂
A few years later they would become your most supportive and dedicated fans (and family).
They’re probably even more dedicated than your fans.
Whenever you drop a new single or a music video, expect them all to share it on every social media account they have.
Tom Hiddleston, who’s barely on social media, would come on just to promote your stuff.
@/ChrisEvans: Hey everyone! Just came to say that @yourtwitterhandle just dropped a new music video and you should all see it! You won’t regret it! Amazing as always @yourtwitterhandle 💙💙💙
@/RobertDowneyJr: The talented and oh so beautiful @yourtwitterhandle just released a music video for her new single! Go ahead and see for yourself to experience the greatness of (y/n)! I’m proud of you sweetheart!❤️
They would even share it on their Instagram stories and post about it because they’re so proud of you🥺
Sebastian and Tom (Holland) would probably post videos of them jamming to your song and yelling at people to listen to it.
Video: Sebastian with 34+35 blasting in the background, “GO LISTEN TO (Y/N)’S NEW ALBUM POSITIONS! DO IT! NOW!”
If you release an album while working on a Marvel movie, they would have little release parties with the whole cast and crew of the movie.
They will have a countdown on some projector and once it hits one everyone would scream and hug you. Then you guys would listen to the whole album with no stops.
When they see you writing in your journal during breaks on set, they would ask if you’re writing new songs.
Sometimes they would even help you brainstorm for lyrics or a concept for a song.
I feel like Evans would be really good at this because he’s good with words.
When they hear you humming something that doesn’t sound familiar they would ask you if it’s a new song.
Scarlett and Lizzie were always excited to hear your stuff.
“Oooo, is that a new song?”
“Come on, (y/n)! Can we get a little snippet please?”
“We promise to not leak it like last time!”
“Yeah! Neither Mark or Tom are here, you’re all good!”
Tom or Mark definitely leaked a few of your songs by accident. Not that they did it on purpose, they just recorded things at the wrong times.
When you sang they would always be quiet and just listen to your voice.
Whenever you hit a high note or sang something that was a bit sassy, there were always some reactions.
Chadwick would really listen to your stuff and just feel the music. When he’s done listening to a song, he would hug you and praise you on how good you did.
Anthony was always your hype man, whether you were singing or answering a question about your music, he will hype you up whenever he can.
“Mmm that’s right, sing it girl.”
“Damn, ya’ll heard that note?!”
“That’s right! Number 1 album in the world, baby. Get with it.”
“Ya’ll heard her right, five Grammy nominations. Gimme some.” He’d brag while fist bumping you.
Sometimes you would catch them singing one of your songs and you would feel all warm and giggly inside because it makes you happy that they enjoy your music.
When you guys aren’t filming and you’re off on tour, they would come to the shows that are in their city or whatever is nearest to them.
Sometimes you wouldn’t even expect them to be there and would be caught off guard while you’re singing.
For example, you were doing a show in New York and all of a sudden you see Paul Rudd just jamming to Thank U, Next in the pit.
“I know they say I move on too fast, but this one gon’ last. ‘Cause her name is— Paul?”
Whenever you guys are promoting new Marvel movies on morning/late night shows, you were always the musical guest.
They were always excited to see you perform. They loved to see you in your element because you always looked like you were having fun and so free. You always stunned them with your talent.
They could never wrap their heads around how you could sing and dance while having so much energy on stage, it truly boggled with their minds.
When they were asked about your music career, they would always say good things because it was true.
RDJ: “She’s just so talented. Like at such a young age, she’s accomplished so much! She’s writing music, releasing album after album, and on top of that she’s working on these films with us! I’m proud of her and proud to say that she’s part of this little family we have. We’re very blessed to have her.”
Brie Larson: “I wish I was like her at that age. I’m so proud of her, she’s a young woman just doing what she loves and not letting people stop her. I’m glad that young girls around the world have her to look up to. She’s going to do amazing things in the future.”
Evans: “Man, have you heard her new album? She really went all in on that one. You know, we’ve seen her grow up into the woman she is today, and you could hear that in her music. I’m glad that we got to experience that and have some kind of part in the legacy she’s building. I hope this means we get to have a musical now.”
Mackie: “That’s our little birdie. Yeah— we call her birdie cause she’s always singing or humming something. You could never have her or Evans together on set, they just burst out singing some random song and everything becomes a musical. No, but in all seriousness, she’s special. The talent she has, you can’t find that in everyone. She’s one in a million.”
They would be so proud of you when you finally win a Grammy or other awards for your music.
There would be videos of them reacting to the moment your name is called for awards like, Album of the Year or Artist of the Year.
When you guys have karaoke night, everyone would fight for you to be on their team.
You could’ve been your own team, but there was no fun in that.
You were like the last donut with red, white, and blue sprinkles (If you know where that’s from, I love u)
“Robert, she was on your team last time! You can’t have her twice!”
“Watch me, Evans.”
“Ayo! Hold up! Sebastian and I barely get to have (y/n) on our team!”
“You boys are childish! (Y/n)’s going to be on my team with Brie and Lizzie.”
Being part of the Marvel family was one of the many things you were grateful for in your career.
They gave you so much love and support as if they were your real family and you loved them all so much.
Even when their times with Marvel were done, they would still be there to support you no matter what, because they were your number one fans.

INTERVIEW: The Falcon And The Winter Soldier for SFX Magazine (Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan Part) (Issue 337, February 24th, 2021)
By Tara Bennett
WING MAN
Anthony Mackie is Sam Wilson / Falcon
SFX: You’ve admitted that initially you weren’t sure on the idea of doing an MCU Series. Why?
ANTHONY: To be honest, I’ve had trepidation from the beginning. I was really afraid of the idea. Working on so many Marvel projects, and seeing the end result and the effect that they have on people, I was afraid that the quality of the production would be taken down for television. I was afraid that you can’t do things on television that you can do in theatres.
Seeing people’s reactions to Avengers: Infinity War and Endgame in the theatres, and hearing the connection that the audience members have with these characters... that’s every actor’s dream, to affect an audience and expose them to a different way of looking at culture and the world around us. I was really afraid that I wouldn’t have that opportunity to step out on that ledge like the actors before me had.
But once we talked, and once they brought on Malcolm and Kari, I knew it was going to be something different. Kari is a phenomenal leader, and Malcolm is an amazing writer. And Kevin promised me that it wasn’t going to be different. He’s not going to tarnish the Marvel brand by trying to just blow out as much content as he could. And I trusted him on that. They haven’t let me down yet, so I just went along for the ride on faith of their past work. And I was really pleasantly surprised by how great everything turned out.
SFX: Steve was an integral part of both Sam and Bucky’s lives. How does the show explore his absence?
ANTHONY: With Sam and Bucky, the idea of losing Steve looms heavily in their day-to-day-life. Captain America - not just a moniker, but the person - was a huge influence on both of them. The idea of the moniker is not as important as the person that they lost. Their whole goal, and their whole focus, is to honour Steve, because he left them with such a huge task to pick up where he left off. Just the weight of the shield with no Steve leads us to believe that there might not be another Captain America. There will never be another Steve Rogers, so for the two of them, the idea of the Captain America moniker is more of a burden than a blessing. They really try and allow that to be an influence of the legacy that he left, and how they can keep that legacy alive and support him - while also missing him and being very sad that he’s not around any more.
SFX: Will we see more of Sam’s regular life?
ANTHONY: We get to see more of them in their surroundings, their personal life, with people who influence their life day-to-day: family members, friends, co-workers. You got a little bit of it with Sam when Steve went to the VA when they first met. But now you really get to see his twists and turns and where exactly he fits in his nine-to-five, as opposed to him just sitting around waiting for Cap to call. That was one of the biggest pitches that Nate and Kevin gave to me that really intrigued me and excited me about this story.
SFX: Exploring Sam’s big choice when it comes to taking up Cap’s shield encompasses so many real-life issues, including race. Was Malcom a solid partner in conveying that?
ANTHONY: You know, it wasn’t just Malcolm and I. What was really interesting was Kari [Skogland] and Zoie [Nagelhout] were very local in the idea of who this man was, and what he was going to mean to the society that we were presenting him to. It’s funny, with Kari being a white Canadian woman, and Zoie being a white American woman, they had such strong parts of opinion and such interesting ways of seeing this character that were way more aggressive than anything I could have imagined. Their perspective and bravery, as two women leading the charge, to show the situation that this character was being thrust into in the world that he lived in, was very humbling. I always felt support. It always felt like there were people around me who were paying attention to what we were saying as a show.
BUCKY STAR
Sebastian Stan is Bucky Barnes / The Winter Soldier
SFX: After Endgame, how did you feel overall, about staying in the MCU?
SEBASTIAN: At the end of Endgame it was sort of strange and emotional. At the time, it was the 10-year anniversary, so everything felt like an ending, of sorts, even though we recognised that there was probably going to be more to it. But it was great to be able to have a discussion about the future.
SFX: Who at Marvel Studios initially pitched the idea of this series to you?
SEBASTIAN: I sat with Kevin [Feige] initially. And then with Nate Moore, who I had done Civil War and Winter Soldier with, and had an unbelievable experience. I think I was a little nervous, because part of me felt like “I’m not even sure if I know what’s left to be explored with the character”. But we actually discovered so much more. And I feel like the character now is coming off in such a different, deeper and more complex way than we’ve seen him. I thought I had explored the character, as he was, enough, but we actually had only scratched the surface. What we’re able to do with him in this series is just on such a deeper emotional level, and we didn’t have that opportunity before.
SFX: What was most interesting to you about doing a series?
SEBASTIAN: The idea of exploring this character now, separately, from Steve Rogers and from that storyline, and putting him in the world, and giving him an opportunity to really, truly, have to face who he is - everything about that was exciting. And the idea of working with Anthony was exciting, because I know we have something special and we’ve never gotten a chance to explore it.
SFX: Who are Sam and Bucky to one another in this series?
SEBASTIAN: They both despise each other equally! [Laughs] I mean, there’s some truth to that. But it’s also a discovery for both of them to realise that they actually have much more in common than they thought. They come at it from different backgrounds. But essentially, they’re both two people trying to find their new identity, and that really has nothing to do with Steve Rogers. Steve Rogers is much more the catalyst, like the event that sets off the bomb that causes both of them to go, “Okay, that happened. Now, let me deal with these things”. I think it’s about them figuring out that they need each other much more than they want to accept.
SFX: With no Steve to lean on, what is Bucky focused on?
SEBASTIAN: It’s a bit of re-educating that happens at the same time. He’s learning a lot about Sam, and he’s also learning about the world, because it’s a very different world than when we was last “James Bucky Barnes” in the ‘50s. He’s always got to deal with the shadow that’s following him. Now it’s more of a question of, how does he take what he’s learned and apply it for himself, going forward? How do you go out there in 2021 and function, knowing what he knows and what he’s bee through? And also, how do you do it without somebody who was a brother by his side, who was a staple of strength, or familiarity? You take away even the last comfort zone - what does he have? That’s what the show is about for him.
SFX: Why do you feel that Bucky has been able to retain fan sympathy during his dark arc?
SEBASTIAN: He felt much more reachable and reachable than other characters, perhaps because of the arcs of trying to cope with the past, or getting over some trauma, or PTSD. And his level of finding oneself again, redefining yourself, your morals, your values, who you are, what you believe in, the challenges that you have - in terms of accepting the world a certain way - understanding that maybe how you grew up and what you’ve learned isn’t going to always help you find your path. You’re going to have to maybe go against the things that you’ve been used to. Those are all things about this character that are very interesting.
There are two more interviews with Showrunner Malcolm Spellman and Director Kari Skogland included in the issue!
If you'd like to get a copy, SFX Magazine Issue 337 is available to purchase both physically and digitally worldwide! https://magazinesdirect.com/mobile/az-single-issues/6937139/sfx-magazine-single-issue.thtml

Kevin Feige walking into work this morning:
Tumblr media
Finally, the trailer to Spiderman No Way Home! Fans were done waiting and some decided to release it themselves lol!
https://youtu.be/E1pM_RBXdoE
Also, these amazing leaked photos of the villains! That's right baby, Alfred Molina, William Dafoe, and Jamie Foxx are back to kick some ass!
I am thrilled to pieces that Molina and Dafoe are returning because I grew up watching them in the earlier Spider-Man movies!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
I read that Sony and Marvel are trying to expunge all the leaked footage from the internet, so watch it while you still can. Although let's be honest, once something is posted to the internet, it's a lot like COVID: it spreads quickly and it's hard to get rid of.
We were not only blessed with this fantastic leaked footage, but also some high quality memes lol!
Keep spreading the word and share with friends before it disappears! ❤

- i respect my girl for retreating to the mountains after that, but she's astral projecting??? while her body does stuff??? is she gonna try and search the multiverse for the twins??? bc if that screaming told me anything, it told me that the twins are coming back
- so i dont think wanda is gonna be a true villain, but the world is gonna perceive her as such, and she's gonna have to work to redeem herself in the eyes of the world
im winded yall. this is has been a long journey since jan 15, and we made it. all i gotta say is i lowkey miss the standby scene
ill see yall in like two weeks for falcon and the winter soldier, gonna go binge all of wandavision to feel something again!!

The wonderful, amazing and gorgeous @ropeandcoffee tagged me for Five Things That Make Me Happy, so here are the first five random things of that nature which popped into my head, in no particular order:
1. My children. I don’t post much photos or personal information about my son and my daughter online because I believe they deserve to decide how and when that stuff goes online for themselves, but that said, there is no metric that could truly measure how much joy these two young lights bring into my life. They are everything to me. Happiness in the form of unique, beautiful pieces of me. 🙏🏾
Tumblr media
2. The Marvel Cinematic Universe. Even before most of the MCU was conveniently available for me to view via Disney+, those movies (and TV shows) have been a constant source of smiles and good memories for the last decade and change. Black Panther alone has impacted my life in such a positive way… feel free to check out the post I wrote right after taking my Mom to see the movie for a small idea of just how much that franchise means to me and people who look like me in general. 🙅🏾‍♂️ Marvel has given us so many great films and shows over the years. Thank you Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios for this now vast and constant source of unbridled joy. 🙌🏾
Tumblr media
3. Chocolate. If you know me, then you know I have a sweet tooth and chocolate is my main guilty pleasure. I can’t get my absolute favourite chocolate bar (3 Musketeers) here in my country for some reason… they just stopped selling it herr years ago with no real explanation. But I make a point of hoarding some every time someone close to me or myself travels to the States lol. In lieu of 3 Musketeers, my home almost always is stocked with Cadbury dairy milk bars, chocolate ice cream, Klondike and/or Magnum ice cream treats, and if i’m lucky chocolate cake. Yum! 🍫
Tumblr media
4. Music. Even though I make music for a living (see my #SONGWRITING tag for more on that), I still genuinely love music as a fan. It’s my reason for being - of this i’m 100% sure. If you don’t love music or it doesn’t at least make you smile, then I don’t what else to tell you. 🤷🏾‍♂️💃🏾🕺🏾
Tumblr media
5. Home. As an only child, and an infamous introvert, this pandemic situation has made me even more aware of how important and strong, safe and comfortable home is. I’m thankful to have that and I appreciate it more and more each day. I’m blessed to still live on the same property I was born into, the same place my parents brought me home to from the hospital after my birth. The same place I brought my son home to after his birth and my daughter years later as well. Many renovations and evolutions later, home is still the place I feel safest and most content. If home is where the heart is then this is definitely that. As Trinis say: “This is where mih navel string bury!” Literally… my umbilical cord is under the earth in the backyard of this place (and my kids’ too). Long may it stand! 🏡

"If a god exists who has ordained a specific narrative to be the only allowable choice the characters can make, then it lessens the importance of their choices."
You guys. You already knew a god existed who ordained a specific narrative... We've been cursing/blessing his name for 11 years... Kevin Feige.
You already knew Steve Rogers had to crash that plane because he had to wake up in 2012. Did you EVER feel his willingness to sacrifice himself for the sake of others was less meaningful because you already knew a plot device from the comics was going to turn his sacrifice into an exceptionally convenient way for his character to exist in the 1940s and present time?

Moving forward after playing a role that means so much to me...Even when I took this role in the beginning, there's no denying that you play this kind of narrative in your head, 'Well am I going to be somehow pigeon-holed with this character?' And in a way along the last ten years you can't help but accept the fact that when you walk the streets, everyone is like, "Uh, Cap!" But the truth is, Marvel has made a collection of films that, had I not been a part of these movies, had I said no to these movies,  it would have been the biggest mistake of my life. I consider these movies what Star Wars was to me. These are incredibly special...like what an unbelievable collection, this tapestry of movies they had to..this will never happen again. This is something that Kevin Feige and this collection of really special actors that I feel blessed to work with, the directors, and the writers. It's so special to me. If what comes with that is this kind of inseparable connection with the role, I'm proud. If you told me I could never make another movie again and this is all I got, I'd be fine with it because to me, this is really, really special.

The Mosley Review: Best Films of 2019
Tumblr media
Wohoo! 2019 has come and gone and man did it fly by. This year we had sooooo many fantastic films and this year was probably the hardest list to put together. I really wanted to include alot more, but I had to make a few cuts. Now I tend to keep my list to the traditional 10 films, but on some occasions I've extended it to 11. This is one of those occasions. I have one runner up that is worth mentioning and I think it should not be missed.
Tumblr media
Missing Link: Many animated films are computer generated now and the art of hand drawn animation is rarely shown. The one type of animation that is all but extinct is stop motion animation. It takes time, patience and passion to bring to life characters with such sophistication and care in an almost forgotten art form. The masterminds at Laika are truly imaginative artist and this film shows that in every frame. Not many films take the story of the myth behind Sasquatch to fun places without being hokey and I was relieved that this film took it seriously and pumped so much fun and heart into the story and I think this was a hidden gem of 2019. Click the title for my full review.
Now, on to my list of 2019's best films of the year. If you want my full review of each film then go ahead and click the title of each film. First one up is definitely a fantastic sequel to a film that the author hated, but loved the film adaptation of his second book.
Tumblr media
Doctor Sleep: The Shining is a classic that can never really be touched. Stephen King is famously known for disliking the film adaptation of his novel, but with his blessing placed upon Mike Flanagan's vision for the sequel novel, we got this magnificent film. Not only does this film pay tribute to Stanley Kubrick's film, but it also follows the same rules and visual structure while keeping the film fresh. The tone was consistent and the performances were across the board amazing. Ewan McGregor, Rebecca Ferguson and the talented Kyliegh Curran deliver absolute greatness. This film features stunning and intriguing dark moments, but definitely has one of the most disturbing scenes I've ever seen and its all because of Jacob Tremblay's performance in THAT scene.
Tumblr media
Ready or Not: How many times have we seen the family initiation story in a romantic comedy? A dozen times I tell you! Well how about you take the same concept, throw in a fun horror version of hide and seek with a hint of the supernatural and great dark comedic writing. You get this fantastic film that is all of that and more. Luckily I stayed away from any major trailers for this film because in retrospect, the R rated trailer gave away too many of the fun gags. The performance of each family member was awesome and this was a standout performance for Samara Weaving. Every year from now on, this film will be on my Halloween watchlist. I loved this film and I can't recommend it enough.
Tumblr media
Shazam!: Batman (1989), Superman (1978), The Dark Knight Trilogy and Spider-man: Into the Spider-verse are just to name a few of perfect adaptations of a comic book character to screen. This film was beyond perfection in many ways and the best DC film to date. This film had the right amount of fun, darkness and heart that embodies the life of the titular character. I could see the amount of genuine fun the cast was having on screen and the heartfelt performances of Asher Angel and Zachary Levi were outstanding. Jack Dylan Grazer stole the film with his amazing comedic speed and wit. This was truly a film I had high hopes for and it didn't disappoint.
Tumblr media
Avengers: Endgame: How do you start a story in 2008 and bring it to an amazing and satisfying conclusion that wraps up 11 years of storytelling? You have a plan, a clear vision from the very beginning and with that it'll special success. Producer Kevin Feige set out on a journey to bring to life some of the best superheroes and keep them together in a cohesive and long formed narrative to complete a saga that's never been done before. He did it with the best talent behind each film's camera and The Russo Brothers have delivered the most epic film the superhero film genre has ever seen. I have waited my entire life to hear Captain America say "Avengers Assemble!" and I'm so happy I've lived long enough for my dream to come true. This was an emotional journey and end to The Infinity Saga. I really can say so much more about this crowning achievement in storytelling, but I'll keep this summary short.
Tumblr media
Rocketman: It was only a mater of time before we got a biopic about the incomparable music legend Elton John. I was hoping that it would not shy away from his sexuality, addictions and his bright and explosive since of style. Well this film jumped right in and held nothing back and I loved every bit. It was truly a fantastical film that had enough gravity and style. The musical locations illustrate his most important moments in his life and are visually stunning and accurate recreations of his most iconic performances. Taron Egerton was Elton John and I loved that he sang all the music. This was truly a masterpiece.
Tumblr media
1917: World War II films are a dime a dozen, but the World War I films are rare. Sam Mendes is one of the best directors and all of his films take you on a journey through the eyes, mind and soul of a character and he did exactly that in this film. The fact that this film is almost shot completely in one continuous take, gives every moment gravitas and tension as you watch our main character go along and across enemy lines to prevent an ambush. The score was truly haunting by Thomas Newman and my favorite piece from this film was from the flare scene. Such an stunning achievement in filmmaking should not be missed.
Tumblr media
Joker: The clown prince of crime has had many iterations over the past 80 years. The most influential and canonical version of the character came from Frank Miller's The Killing Joke. Heath Ledger's take was iconic and made you scared because of his unpredictability. Joaquin Phoenix has taken the character and given a truly disturbing and authentic performance. As Arthur Fleck, we see through a constantly unraveling psyche, a man become a new and real kind of monster. Not only is this version the most unsettling, but it was beautiful. The cinematography was great and I loved how we got into the mind and heart of the character when he wasn't even speaking. This is a definition of how a person being pushed through horrible conditions can truly become a monster and yet be free. I loved this film and I think it will be studied in many acting classes from here on out.
Tumblr media
Ford v Ferrari: There needs to be more racing films of this caliber! I love racing films that are not just about the cars, but also the drivers and their stories. This film was based on the true friendship between Carol Shelby and Ken Miles and I can't say enough how much attention to detail and heart that was put into every frame. The sound design in this film was crisp and powerful. The performances by both Matt Damon and Christian Bale was truly amazing and they had the best chemistry. Their fight scene was the funniest and most realistic fight I've ever seen between 2 friends. James Mangold is one of my favorite directors because of his focus on characters and story first before the action. This was a love letter to the world of racing and a respectful look at the lives of these pioneers of ingenuity and racing.
Tumblr media
How To Train Your Dragon: The Hidden World: How do you make a perfect trilogy? How do you wrap it up with a satisfying and emotional ending? You focus on the story and stay true to the message and heart you started with in the beginning. You let the character bonds naturally grow and make each adventure a learning experience. This film was a perfect ending to the franchise and I can't stress how much I felt like I was with Hiccup and Toothless on their journey to this conclusion. The performances from the cast were stellar as always and although the villain may not have been as great, he still was a good addition. The visuals were the best and the textures in the scales and sand were out of this world. The score by John Powell truly brought me to tears as I got to say goodbye to my favorite companions. If you ever owned a pet, you known the emotional bond that is forged. This was the ultimate pay off and as a pet owner I saw my dog in Toothless' eyes. I will miss this franchise. If you're not crying by the end of this film then something is wrong with you.
Tumblr media
The Peanut Butter Falcon: There are some independent films that take a risk in going outside of the norm and telling a story that nobody would have ever dreamed. This film was truly something special and I can't tell you how happy I was throughout. This film focuses on an individual with down syndrome whose dream is to become a wrestler and it is something truly inspirational and heartwarming. Zack Gottsagen was truly brilliant and awesome in this film. I loved his journey and his will to keep going. Shia Lebouf delivers an equally powerful performance and his chemistry with Zack was very sweet. This is one of the best films of 2019 and the most important films of the decade.
And here we are ladies and gentlemen! This is the moment you've all been reading toward. This film was an automatic choice for me the moment the end credits rolled. The crowing jewel of 2019 is none other than.....
Tumblr media
Booksmart: I have seen so many high school teen comedies about partying or loosing your virginity before graduation, but never have I seen a film so engaging and focused on the bond of two bestfriends. Their bond was the heart and soul of the film and you couldn't have asked for a better pair of actresses. Beanie Feldstein and Kaitlyn Dever were beyond perfection in every moment of this film and they had me cracking up left and right. Their adventure over the course of one night was truly fun and you are along for the hilarious ride. Billie Lourd nearly stole the whole film out from under them with her surprising and hilarious appearances. The music choices in the film were awesome as well. The comedy in this film was so fresh and from the first 6 minutes of the film you’re locked into these two ladies chemistry. I can't stress enough how much joy this film brought me and for a film to be on my mind for the entire year and to have me constantly recommending it to everyone I know is an achievement of itself. Olivia Wilde has directed a true masterpiece and new definition of a coming of age story. I can't stop gushing about this film so I'll finish off by saying WATCH THIS FILM!
And that is my list of the best films of 2019 and man has it been a great year in film. Lets hope 2020 starts off the decade with a bang! Thanks for reading everyone.

PSA to the Romanogers Community (SPOILERS)
DO NOT READ ON IF YOU HAVEN’T SEEN ENDGAME OR DON’T WANT TO BE SPOILED ABOUT THE ENDING. THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE.
So, we didn’t get the ending we wanted. Romanogers will not be canon, Steve will stay in the past with Peggy, and Natasha is now dead, sacrificing herself to get the soul stone. The worst scenario possible for us fans of the Soldier and the Spy, right? WRONG.
Sure, it didn’t end up as definitively canon, but we have never, EVER needed the direct blessing of canon to let this ship sail. This changes nothing, not to us. We will still create art, still write fanfics, still celebrate what could have been, just as usual. We have to accept that, as much as our desires were somewhat catered to, we were in the minority. The ending we got is what most people would have wanted, and that’s fine. We can accept that, and move on and as a community and as fans.
We simply bet on the wrong horse and lost, but that does not mean we were wrong. We were never wrong in seeing the potential of these two, never wrong to want more from them. Canon doesn’t diminish the passion we have for these characters, and at the same time, our specific, admittedly unpopular scenario not happening doesn’t diminish the effort of the Russo brothers, Stephen McFeely, Christopher Markus, Kevin Feige and - most importantly - Chris Evans and Scarlett Johansson for their efforts in making these films.
Natasha went out as a hero, sacrificing herself to save the universe. She was most heroic of them all, an honour that she fought for her entire life at SHIELD, a cause that was strengthened by her time spent with Steve. Steve mourned for her. That tear may not seem a lot but think about it. We have rarely, RARELY seen Steve cry. The last time I could think of was Peggy’s funeral. Natasha was just as important to him as Peggy was, THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE. All he could, whilst the others were arguing, standing up and throwing chairs, was crumple into a seat and cry. Utterly defeated. These choices were deliberate, the people behind this film knew how important Nat was to Steve.  They KNEW WHAT THEY WERE DOING.
Think about it this way, perhaps - just maybe - the screenwriters knew that if Natasha were still around, Steve would have stayed in the present. Natasha, his rock in the modern world, was gone. That’s why Steve was so ready to go back and be with Peggy, the other most important woman in his life because there was little left in the present for him to live for.  Of course, he would want to have a little bit of happiness with the life he missed out on. And I’m sure that Natasha would have wanted that too, for him to finally find a place where he could just be, a place to call home, even if she can’t have that with him. That was the sacrifice she made in the end, and she did it for him. Just as he said he trusted her to do. She gave him more than anyone else ever could, SHE GAVE HIM HIS LIFE BACK. If that’s not romantic, I don’t know what is.  Besides, we can always have our satisfaction that Steggy’s happy ending will always be reliant on Natasha, and by extension Romanogers. Yeah, if it weren’t for those two bringing out the best in each other, helping each other, staying by each other’s sides until the very end, then every post-Endgame Steggy fic will have that little undercurrent of Romanogers to thank. And I think that’s delightfully satisfying.
Besides, do you know how easy it would be for us to change this? The fanfiction writes itself. Who says we can't write a scene where Steve wakes up in the middle of the night and just breaks down in Peggy’s arms, his grief for his fallen lover finally catching up to him? Or how about a fix-it where Steve rejects the past and brings her back (we know the soul stone can be bargained with, Gamora came back, so why not her)? Or how about a fic where Thanos kills Steve in battle, only to have him and Nat reunite in the soul stone, together for the rest of time, in peace? The possibilities are endless, so get writing, get drawing, get animating, get editing. We are far from done with these two, nay, we are only just beginning. The story is over, yes, but that means we can construct our AUs from start to finish, our new timelines will be more complete than ever.
And don’t let anyone tell you that we can’t divulge in our pairing, after all, it’s fiction, in the same capacity as the MCU itself, the same as the comics. It’s just as valid to diverge from canon as it is to follow IF YOU’RE HAVING FUN WHILST DOING IT. So please, no shipping wars, no blasting the people responsible on twitter, no boycotting the MCU. Let’s enjoy what was, and what can be. Let us sail the good ship Romanogers to greater horizons, the best non-canon MCU pairing ever made. A pairing so close to canon, it should have been ENDGAME.
Oh, yeah, and - besides my disappointment that that ONE aspect of the film - this movie KICK ASS AND EVERYONE SHOULD SEE IT, MY GOD IT IS AWESOME!
EDIT: BTW I’m writing a post-Endgame, canon-compliant Romanogers fic where Steve and Nat end up happily married and live out their lives in peace. How could they possibly end up together after Endgame, you ask? Impossible, surely? You’ll have to read and see. I’ll post a link when it’s up. Treat it as a free therapy session.
EDIT 2: @romanogersnowbarry94 especially wanted to be notified when I started posting my fix-it story (mentioned above), so here it is: https://archiveofourown.org/works/18603754/chapters/44106034
It’s still in progress but updates are quick. Welcome to therapy.

Movie Review: Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker
Tumblr media
Spoiler Warning: I am posting this review the day the movie formally drops in the U.K, so if you haven’t yet seen the movie don’t read on.
General Reaction:
Tumblr media
This is singularly and categorically the most frustrating movie I have ever seen and I genuinely mean that!
I have walked away from this, I believe, two and a half hour movie and have had maybe 3 hours to digest what I have just seen and I still do not know whether or not I enjoyed what I saw or found it completely frustrating.
I know I've talked about my history with Star Wars with the last 4 movies that Disney has released, but I for these two reviews it is imperative to cement my relationship with this universe going in because it should help make my case for my opening statement.
Tumblr media
To clarify, when it comes to the Star Wars universe, I only know the movies. I am not old enough to have grown up with the original saga before seeing The Phantom Menace but I did complete the original trilogy before seeing Revenge of the Sith and have watched those first six movies in chronological order numerous times because I am that sad.
When it comes to the Disney-era movies, as I mentioned I have seen all four that have come before Episode IX and again enjoyed all of them to different degrees.
I have not however seen any TV series, as in the animated Clone Wars and Rebels series nor The Mandalorian. I don't really have time to commit to TV shows, particularly the length of animated shows, and with regards to the recent Mandalorian I've had university work to keep me occupied.
I have also not read any Star Wars novel or comic, the main reason for both of these, aside from the time constraints, is because I don't enjoy homework and that's what both the TV and book series feel like.
I get the point of movies these days is to franchise with an expansive universe and, to it's credit, Star Wars was the first franchise to start this despite the MCU simply doing it better.
Tumblr media
However, I am not as die hard a Star Wars fan that I want to find the time to fit all of this expansive universe viewing and reading in to get the most out of my enjoyment of the movies, let alone can. I enjoy the movies just fine, and have not yet found a situation in the movies to dig a little deeper into the Star Wars mythology...save for one particular scene in Solo: A Star Wars Movie which I’ll get into during my spoiler review.
The reason I won’t go into why I felt a small urge in Solo of all Star Wars movies is because the element in question from that movie I would have used during this movie but they don’t. In fact, The Rise of Skywalker should really be called The Fandom Menace because, despite the fact this movie promises a lot and delivers some good stuff, it does not deliver on what the Star Wars fandom has either theorised or to a degree been promised, again save for two aspects of fan service that go absolutely nowhere.
In fact “The Rise of Skywalker” as a title is the biggest tease and letdown of the movie. It’s the movie’s biggest promise and equally its greatest obstacle particularly after you’ve seen it once and discover why it is such a letdown.
Tumblr media
I will also say, because of how shaky this “sequel trilogy” has been in the development of the characters, they seem to be wanting to wrap everything up, promising this as the “End of the Skywalker saga” which seems to also be a false promise when your title is “The Rise of Skywalker” which in itself is a complete and utter cheat and I will definitely talk about that in the spoiler review, but what the to-do list is really is to both wrap up the original trilogy because they included the original characters and borrowed from the actual original movies HEAVILY, but also wrapping up this new trilogy because I do believe that Disney have heard the backlash this trilogy have been getting and so are trying to not have us go back to this trilogy in future as was the biggest mistake for this trilogy.
But what actually happens is not only do the “wrap ups” seem either rushed, forced and/or sloppy as hell, but then you have new things cropping up or still unanswered questions which either prod or demand exploration in a sequel. I know Star Wars is getting the Disney+ spin-off series treatment but I don’t think LucasFilm are as bold as Kevin Feige, or as successful, and therefore won’t bombard the Disney+ schedule with shows.
Tumblr media
It is a shame this trilogy has somewhat fizzled out the way it has because there are new characters and concepts introduced during the trilogy that I would enjoy seeing continue, because I’ve either liked them from the start or have been rooting for them and they finally had their pay-off moment here.
But if Star Wars ever wants to stand a chance at reclaiming its former glory not only as one of the most beloved universes in film but also, even with the prequel trilogy, one of the most successful cinematic universes, then I believe this extended hiatus is a blessing since Benioff & Weiss dropped out of a future trilogy for everyone in-house from Bob Iger and Kathleen Kennedy to even the actors involved such as the newer main cast to revise what the last four years have amounted to for the franchise and what the takeaways can be from it.
Cast:
All this being said, there are still good and impressive points to this movie, largely in the cast of the movie. It is just a shame that for the large part they will be affiliated with such a shambles of a movie.
The sequel trilogy’s new trinity of characters finally all come into their own in this movie with not only the three of them actually sharing a reasonable amount of screen time together but also the three of them falling into their respective roles that particularly made the likes of Han, Leia and Luke so loved.
Tumblr media
However, while Daisy Ridley finally comes into her own as a Jedi and the bromance between Poe and Finn is reignited, the writing and pacing of the movie does very much fall back into that rushed wrapping up I touched on earlier because they haven’t really been that way for the entirety of The Last Jedi.
I really don’t understand the fascination with either Kylo Ren or Adam Driver personally. While I do think they’ve played on the two sides of the same coin angle not just with Rey and Kylo but also Kyle and Ben rather well and Driver does play both quite well, Kylo Ren is no Darth Vader yet that’s the road they’ve been trying to take the character down.
Tumblr media
It’s also a very sad and somewhat distracting aspect for this to be Carrie Fisher’s final outing as Leia, Distracting because of course Carrie Fisher’s tragic passing almost three years ago to the day casts a looming shadow over this movie, but sad because as great as digital reconstruction can be, and Star Wars can definitely say they are early pioneers of it, doesn’t change the fact that there Leia’s scenes are being scrutinised to see which lines are archive footage, where there’s a body double and ultimately how the character and actress will be honoured in their final scenes...unfortunately as a whole they do not pay off.
Tumblr media
But speaking of old favourites, three aspects of this franchise that will never get old for me are the Droids, Chewie and Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian. As much as Donald Glover tried during Solo, no one does Lando like Billy Dee.
Chewie I became surprisingly emotionally invested in during this movie.
Meanwhile, R2-D2, BB-8, C-3PO and even new droid D-O are essentially the house fixtures, you could not imagine a Star Wars movie without them.
The rest of the cast are serviceable, despite their roles either being minimal or laughable. Not only do the returning minor characters continue to either be minor or practically invisible, but the new characters they introduce simply take away extra screen time to further develop our main cast.
Recommendation:
Tumblr media
I can’t not advise people to see this movie, particularly if you have followed the Skywalker saga (all nine-movies or even just this trilogy). I do not believe a virgin to this universe seeing this movie would get any enjoyment out of it aside from the occasional laugh either with it or at it.
It’s definitely not a great movie, I can’t even say it’s commercially a good movie but I think it’s a movie that needs to be seen for the pure and simple reason of closure for the trilogy. I for one as an Aspergic OCD individual cannot leave things unfinished. If I start something I have to finish it and I do believe for the foreseeable this is finished.
What I will say in the movie’s defence is if you do find something in this movie you like, defend and support the movie for it because I feel it is going to need all the help it can get.
So that’s my non-spoiler review of Star Wars: Episode IX - The Rise of Skywalker, what did you guys think? Post your comments and check out more Movie Reviews as well as other reviews and posts.

What do you think Wanda’s future in the MCU will be? I know she’s getting her own series on Disney+ (but I have no plans of paying for that...) but do you think she’ll appear in future Avengers movies? I hope she still remains a part of the Avengers team
According to Kevin Feige:
These will be both new and continuing stories, and one of the things we’re most excited about is that these will be major storylines set in the MCU with ramifications that will be felt both through the other Disney+ series we’re producing and our features on the big screen.
So it seems unlikely that she’ll be gone from the movies after featuring on Disney+. This might possibly be the best of both worlds, because she’ll be able to get significantly more screen time and development via the longform storytelling of a series spanning roughly 6 hours (according to Lizzie), and continue to have big moments in the theater (albeit where she’ll remain as a supporting character).
I mean in terms of her impact on the cosmic level, she’s up there with Thor and Captain Marvel now. Endgame settled that (god heckin bless). I don’t think they’d bench her to TV status, especially with Disney+ specifically being advertised as intrinsically tied to the MCU (compared to AoS and Netflix, which have p much been shafted as far as connectivity goes klsjfskd). So I like to think it’s a great time to be a Wanda fan!

In an interview with CNBC Make It, the Winter Soldier star talked about getting rejected when he originally auditioned for Captain America and admitted that being offered the part of Bucky Barnes instead was the best thing that could have ever happened to him.
Stan said Kevin Feige and casting director Sarah Finn's decision to cast Chris Evans as the titular shield-wielding hero in Captain America: First Avenger "worked out" as he got to play a "much better role" that was by turns a lot more complex, since Barnes went from being Steve Rogers' oldest pal to his nemesis as The Winter Soldier after being brainwashed by HYDRA.
When asked what advice he has for his fellow thespians, the 35-year-old Romanian actor says you just gotta stick to your guns in what is a very tough industry.
"Try not to take things personally, learn how to to face rejection, no matter what you do, stay obsessed with it," he said.
And no doubt, five movies and counting playing Bucky has proven to be a blessing for Stan. Not only has it given him global visibility as a key player in today's biggest blockbuster franchise, but his character's evolution from Cap's foe back to friend again – as evidenced by his post-credits reveal in Black Panther as the White Wolf - means he's destined be around for a long time to come despite being turned to dust at the end of Avengers: Infinity War.
That's pretty much a safe bet given Stan has four more flicks to go in a whopping nine movie contract with Marvel, has already confirmed Bucky will be back for Avengers 4, and rumors abound that Bucky may don the red, white and blue in the MCU for a much darker take on the Captain America character. At least, that's what Stan told the Build Series last month if Rogers meets an unfortunate end in the next Avengers installment as happens in the Marvel comics.
We'll just have to wait until next year to find out when Avengers 4 hits theaters on May 3, 2019.
