Once upon a time, in a fantastical fantasy realm that was akin to a small girl's dream, there lived a princess.
One glorious afternoon, as the gentle glow of the sun shone brightly in the mesmerizing blue sky, a single cottage castle could be seen standing tall in the center of the forest.
A pair of bluebirds then fly upward into view from below, holding a white banner between their beaks that reads 'Princess Clara's Castle' for a moment before taking off, a trail of clear magic dust fluttering behind them.
The castle resembled a standard cottage home, with white and grey stones used for its exterior construction, but what differentiated it from others was its royal structure.
Inside, Princess Clara slept soundly beneath the comfort of her soft and woolly comforter, dreaming a lovely dream as a cozy smile rested upon her soft and tender face.
While the princess continues to sleep, her bedroom door creaks open as a small group of critters from the forest enter inside.
These cute critters consisted of birds, rabbits, deer, chipmunks, squirrels, and raccoons.
The fauna were her companions and inhabited the castle with her.
As the diverse group of animals crowd together closely around Princess Clara's bedside, a doe lightly nuzzles her cheek with her nose in an attempt to gently wake her.
As the princess slowly opens her eyes, she gets a glimpse of her friends surrounding her bed and lets out the gentlest of laughs.
"Good morning, everyone," she softly greets with a yawn and stretches as she turns to look at the time on her handmade wooden wall clock.
"Well, afternoon," Princess Clara corrects herself with a sheepish smile on her face, rubbing the back of her head with one hand.
Although the princess didn't mean to be such a sleepyhead, she could never resist the temptations of her warm bed.
"Who's hungry?" she asked her animal friends, putting aside her embarrassment for now.
"I'll make up for sleeping in so late with some brunch. How does that sound?"
The offer caused the eyes of the critters to light up with joy as they accepted with nods, causing Princess Clara to giggle in her hand as she sat up.
"Then it's settled," she said, stepping out of bed and dancing across her floorboards on her tippy toes toward her closet while she hummed a merry tune.
Princess Clara's feathery companions tweeted the catchy melody of the song with her, their voices harmonizing beautifully.
Two of them flew over to open her closet door for her, helping the princess slip into one of her favorite house dresses while tossing her nightgown into the hamper.
Now dressed for the day, Princess Clara dips and twirls out of her room and into the kitchen, her forest friends happily following behind her.
"Hmm," Princess Clara hummed to herself in thought, tapping her chin with her index finger as she stood in front of her dainty stove, a frying pan sitting on top, as fresh veggies and oil sat on her counter.
Her animal friends, also in the kitchen, were eating their feed of mixed berries that she had prepared for them and placed in pretty porcelain bowls.
"What goes good with fresh veggies?" she whispered.
Tweet, tweet!
Shifting her sights to her open window sill, Princess Clara spots the pair of bluebirds who were holding her banner in the beginning, fluttering over with eggs well wrapped in silk.
The eggs are gently placed on the counter alongside the veggies and oil as the birds took their place on her window sill.
"Oh, eggs! Of course!" Princess Clara exclaims excitedly, finding the answer to her question as she cracks a smile, just like she was planning on cracking those eggs.
"Thank you," the princess told the two birds, who both received gentle rubs to the skin behind their beaks from her as they happily chirped.
With a gentle clearing of her throat, Princess Clara gracefully twirls in place, placing a hand on her chest, and begins to sing lyrics to a theme.
While singing, the princess twirls for a second time, holding out her index finger for one of the bluebirds.
One decides to flap over and step onto it, joining Princess Clara for a lovely duet.
As the caroling continues, the two take turns.
When Princess Clara hits a high note, she allows the bluebird to do the same.
The princess keeps hitting higher and higher notes, and the bluebird struggles to keep up with her.
As the theme comes to a close, Princess Clara hits an ear-piercing high note that causes the bluebird to gradually bloat up and explode.
The princess's eyes widen in shock at this as her animal companions who had witnessed the small explosion gasp.
The room was filled with frightened faces while a deep silence lingered in the air.
"… And there!" Princess Clara said, carefully slipping the small sweater she had knitted with the assistance of her animal friends onto the bluebird who had previously exploded and was now featherless.
The sweater fit like a glove and had a few of his feathers nicely glued on to it.
When the bluebird gazed down at his new outfit, he instantly let out a chirp in delight, hopping in place.
"Yay! He likes it!" Princess Clara cheered brightly, her animal friends joining her.
Placing her index finger under the bluebird's foot, the princess lifts gently as the bird steps onto her finger and proceeds to perch.
She starts to rub her cheek against the side of his face, causing him to chirp softly at the affection.
"I'm so sorry about that," Princess Clara whispered, soft sincerity weaving through her voice.
She believed that his feathers would eventually return over time.
...
Late afternoon, Princess Clara contentedly dusted her wooden organ.
As her flightless animal friends swept the floors with their tails, her winged ones collected flowers in a vase, some of them having to be propped up.
A hummingbird hovered over the pot with a watering can that matched its size between its beak and gently poured a pocket-sized amount of water into the pot.
Upon hearing a brief knock at the door, all those in the cottage stopped their work and gazed forward at the front entrance.
"Oh!" Princess Clara gently went as she set her feather duster down and walked toward the door.
"I wonder who that could be."
Upon opening it, she discovered that no one was present.
"That's strange...," she whispered.
It could have simply been the wind, but Princess Clara saw no signs of it being a windy day.
Setting her sights on the ground, the princess let out a small gasp, bringing a hand to her mouth in sheer wonder.
While gazing downward, her light green eyes glowed with twinkles.
In front of the princess's feet, beautifully bestowed on the ground, was a tiara that was comprised of lightly-colored wood.
The coronet was meticulously carved with so much solicitude and had a heart adorned in the center of it.
Laying alongside the tiara was a bouquet of beautiful flowers that looked to have been hand-picked and a heart-sealed envelope.
After obtaining all three items, Princess Clara returned inside and closed the door.
The flowers were safely placed in the ventilated space of the vase, joining the flowers that were already there, as Princess Clara set the rectangular paper down on the console table and slowly placed the treen tiara on her head.
Her animal friends watched her do so, curiosity shining in their eyes.
"Oh, it fits beautifully!" Princess Clara softly exclaimed, her bright voice bursting with excitement as she clapped her hands and gently jumped in place.
The critters in the cottage cheered in delight at this revelation.
Next, the princess took the envelope, carefully removed the pink wax heart stamp from it, and revealed a letter written on a very silky piece of paper inside.
Princess Clara was completely taken aback by the beautiful text that was perfectly written across the page.
A closer examination from the princess indicated that this was indeed a handwritten letter due to the sheening of the ink.
Princess Clara sat down in a chair and began reading the letter to herself while still making sure her animal friends could hear her, her heart fluttering at every sentence.
Dearest Princess Clara,
Today, I contemplated the magnitude of my love for you and how I've never expressed those passionate feelings that swell inside my soul before.
Thus, I aim to convey my genuine affection for you in this letter.
I vividly remember the day I spotted you wandering around town.
You greeted everyone you encountered with the most endearing smile.
I knew right away that I had to meet you.
I attempted to find the courage to have a conversation with you, but I felt like it wouldn't work out because of my lack of confidence and difference in appearance from everyone else.
I hope to one day be brave enough to meet you in person and properly converse with you.
Eternally, yours,
A secret admirer
The princess's smile remained unwavering after the letter was read.
It warmed her heart greatly to see that someone cared about her so much that they arranged a letter along with florals and a tiara and delivered them to her door.
"Chirp, chirp, twee, twee?" asked one of her birds.
Princess Clara shifted her gaze to the birdie.
"How am I going to meet them?" she repeated the bird's question, an idea forming inside her mind.
"I think I know how."
...
Carpenters from the town lined up from Princess Clara's cottage castle to the forest end, excited by the news that she wanted an exact replica carving of a tiara she had received from a stranger.
They all had crafted tiaras for her to try on in their hands, believing that theirs were identical to hers.
The princess was aware through the details of her diadem that the admirer was proficient in carpentry.
Despite offering a generous currency reward for the replica, her primary goal was to locate her devotee through the long line.
Several tiaras were tried on by her, but none were suitable due to being too big, too small, or incorrectly colored.
Finally, a young man wearing a green cloak and suspenders over his outfit, who was the final contender waiting in line, approached her.
Princess Clara's eyes lit up immediately upon seeing the tiara that he held flat in his hands.
It appeared to be the exact one she had on!
After that, she fixed her gaze on the man's eyes.
His warm chestnut-colored eyes were accompanied by a bright, friendly face, guarded by shy excitement.
"It's you," Princess Clara whispered in amazement, taking the offered tiara and examining it with a keen smile.
She took her tiara off her head and compared the two.
The details matched to a T.
She finally found her admirer.
Setting the handed tiara down and placing hers back on, she asked the man, "Did you really mean what you said in that letter you left at my door?"
The man nodded, a small laugh of delight escaping him as he pulled his hood down, revealing his long golden hair tied perfectly in a ponytail and a set of strangely rounded ears that looked otherworldly.
"Oh, my!" The princess squeaked, causing the man to flush by her surprised reaction and quickly cover his ears with both hands.
"I-I'm sorry!" she quickly apologized.
Now it was her turn to blush as the two both shared red faces.
He was human.
She could have sworn that they only existed in fairy tales.
Regardless, she felt as though her unkind response was highly unnecessary.
"I truly do apologize for my impolite reaction. I've just never seen ears like those before. Are... my ears strange to you?" she asked, cupping both her pointed ears.
The man, gazing at the princess's ears, slowly lowers his hands.
He gives a small nod, hoping not to have offended her with his honesty.
Now stuck in a state of bemusement, they both end up letting out a laugh after seconds of silence.
They then exchange shy smiles as the magic of love leads them to hold each other's left and right hands, interlocking their fingers together.
...
After a time skip, this song begins to play.
Inside Princess Clara's cottage castle, her organ is being cheerfully played by the young man who is now her friend.
She happily claps along to the tune while her animal companions are dancing and do-si-do-ing with each other.
In the evening, the two engage in a slow waltz together by a small lake, gentle smiles on their faces as they step and spin.
Upon nightfall, the pair sit side by side with their legs criss-crossed in front of the same lake under a flowering tree while peacefully observing the fishes inside the water who spurt water trickles from their lips.
Love was literally present in the air as those trickles took on the shape of hearts.
When the princess lets out a sigh, she slowly leans her head against the man's shoulder as he looks down at her with a soft smile.
Leaning down, he presses a kiss on her forehead, and a light show of fireflies appear around the couple, forming a massive heart around them.
A swarm of fireflies then fly by, and the scene transitions to a snowy winter wedding taking place in a meadow as Princess Clara and the man, now her husband, are joined in matrimony.
After the groom and bride's lips meet, the wedding guests, Princess Clara's animal companions, cheer as flower petals and confetti are merrily whisked into the air.
After taking their first steps together into a new life down a small staircase, the newlyweds began their walk down the aisle, approaching their awaiting carriage, which was entirely made of gingerbread and decorated with frosting and various colorful candies.
Princess Clara's husband opens the carriage door for her with a gentlemanly bow, and she curtsies to him to show her appreciation before entering.
After both partners are aboard the cookie-candy carriage, it begins riding off into the woods as the animals wave them goodbye with hankerchiefs.
...
The carriage arrives at a large gingerbread house.
Being the first to step out of the carriage, Princess Clara's husband helps his new bride out bridal style.
Trying to enter the open entrance of the house with his wife, the husband bumps into its sides.
He makes another attempt to get in, but the outcome remains the same.
It seems that he and the princess are too big to fit through the small entrance.
However, an idea comes to the husband's mind as he positions himself sideways.
The initial plan was to go inside that way, but he ended up simply walking forward with great force, causing minor damage to the sides of the cookie house when he finally managed to get inside.
Gently lowering his beloved down, the two are about to lean in for a kiss when suddenly a mistletoe on a string comes between them from the ceiling, making the romantic moment even better.
This causes the couple to giggle as they continue leaning forward. Just as they are about to kiss, the solid chocolate bar door of the house shuts on its own.
The words "The End" are displayed on the door in pink frosting with a heart around it as the medieval melody comes to an end.
Their honeymoon was going to be wonderful as well as the rest of their days together.

Hey Alice :) I know you did something already for Valentine’s Day where Lloyd spoiled princess but I was wondering what if the roles were reversed? Would princess 👑 do anything sweet for Lloyd? As always thank you so much for writing this amazing story 🥹
Thank you so much for this ask! 🥰
I had a lot of fun thinking about what Princess would do for Lloyd on Valentine’s Day if she were the one planning their celebration. I know for a lot of men it feels like a one sided bargain which is something a guy like Lloyd would find incredibly annoying. Of course he loves Princess, so his perspective on the holiday has shifted, but I feel like Princess would want to do something special for him, too.
When I was pondering the dynamics between the characters, I did a lot of thinking about that piece I wrote about Lloyd’s approach to Valentine’s Day. It’s clear that his plan for the day was mainly driven by his need for social validation. Yes, his overall goal was to please Princess, but his actions in the story centered around impressing her social circle and gaining attention. This is quintessential Lloyd Hansen behavior. He’s motivated by a very superficial type of recognition, because that’s all hes ever known before.
Princess is very aware of this because she understands Lloyd and knows how to read him. That said, by the end of the day she was getting sick of the extravagance and the theatrical, exhibitionistic display it had become. She did appreciate his efforts, but what she really wanted was a personal connection that memorialized their relationship, not ones driven by external validation.
Side bar: The fact that Jenn was the one who realized the disconnect between Lloyd and Princess was so funny to me. Like, if you’ve read the backstory pieces you know Jenn and Lloyd absolutely despise each other. She really proved her devotion to Princess by going to Lloyd in private and re-orientating him in the right direction. It was kind of like watching the Grinch save Christmas. 😂
So, after all this reflection on what Lloyd’s take on Valentine’s Day represented to the characters, I came up with a plan for how Princess would choose to spend the holiday if planning it were up to her.
First, she wouldn’t try to steal Lloyd’s thunder by planning something for the actual date of Valentine’s Day on her own. Knowing how important it is to him to have center stage and step up to prove his worth as a boyfriend to her (and all of their friends and coworkers) she’d sit back and graciously indulge his extravagant public display of affection. Princess would wholeheartedly mask her desire for more intimate gestures in an effort to honor his intentions.
Which is why she would plan her own Valentine’s Day celebration… but in deference to Lloyd, she’d arrange it for the weekend after V-Day.
Her take on the holiday would prioritize their shared interests and revolve around activities they both enjoy, starting with a relaxing morning at the spa and a leisurely brunch. For the afternoon Princess would reserve a cozy spot at one of Lloyd's favorite restaurants for a late lunch, ensuring a quiet, private ambiance for uninterrupted conversation.
As for his gift, Princess would cater to Lloyd's interests, by arranging a golf trip to Myrtle Beach for him and his friends. The rest of their afternoon would be spent wandering through the D.C. botanical gardens, a favorite pastime of Princess’ that Lloyd has also come to appreciate. In the evening they’d go on a romantic sunset catamaran ride down the Potomac River to cap off the day.
The rest of their night unfolds at home. Having spent the day out on the town, Princess would opt for reheating leftovers at home over going out for a fancy dinner. After all, Lloyd’s homemade Coq au Vin from their Valentine’s Day meal is even better the second time around. Then they would cuddle up on the couch with their dinner as Lloyd picks out a movie for them to watch. When he suggests turning the weekend after Valentine’s Day into their own personal holiday, a warmth spreads through Princess’ chest.
For some, it would be devastating if their partners’ approach to celebrating a romantic holiday like Valentine's Day was very different from their own. However, at that moment Princess realizes that she’d never want to spend Valentine’s Day with anyone else. Despite the fact that they have incredibly different perspectives and values - something which could easily drive a wedge between even the strongest of couples - she and Lloyd somehow always come to a unique, peculiar state of equilibrium. They balance each other out, and in the end, that’s the best gift he could ever give her.

Your Muse Pt. 2
Pairing: Donna Sheridan x Fem!reader
Summary: You and Donna decide to continue the day with some fun in the sun. (Included at the end are 2 poems)
Word count: 2,803
Tumblr media
You and Donna had just finished up brunch at the café. The two of you sat there, pondering what to do next. Donna suggested the two of you spend the rest of the day at the beach. Her suggestion was met with an eager nod from you. The prospect of unwinding by the shimmering shores of Kalokari was an enticing idea, a perfect continuation of the delightful day you had shared.
With a giddy anticipation, you excused yourself to change into your bathing suit in the café's bathroom. After a quick change, you emerged, feeling the excitement bubbling within as you made your way back to Donna.
"I'm all set," you announced cheerfully, the anticipation evident in your voice.
Donna smiled warmly. "Great! I've got my bathing suit on under these clothes," she said, gesturing to her attire.
The two of you set off towards the beach, the sun casting a golden hue upon the cerulean waters ahead. The sand beneath your feet was warm and inviting, beckoning you to unwind and embrace the tranquility of the seaside.
Upon reaching the beach, you found a cozy spot and set down your belongings, ready to bask in the sun's embrace. However, you decided to stay on the shore for a little while, eager to capture the essence of this moment through your writing.
Sitting perched on a towel, you observed Donna as she gracefully peeled off her outer clothes, revealing the vibrant bathing suit she wore beneath. The sun-kissed hues of the swimsuit complemented the golden tones of the sand, emanating a playful and carefree vibe that mirrored Donna's infectious energy.
She unbuckled her overalls before unbuttoning the buttons on her top with an effortless grace, the fabric billowing in the gentle breeze as she slipped it off her shoulders. The bathing suit revealed hints of cerulean blue interwoven with patterns reminiscent of the ocean's waves, accentuating Donna's confidence and radiance against the backdrop of the beach.
With an unspoken elegance, she shimmied out of her shorts, revealing the matching bottoms of her bathing suit—a perfect complement to the top. The vibrant colors of her attire echoed the allure of the sea, exuding a sense of comfort and ease.
As Donna's figure shimmered under the sunlight, her movements carried a natural grace, a fluidity that seemed at one with the rhythmic sway of the ocean. Her playful demeanor, coupled with the vivid hues of her swimsuit, painted a picture of joy and vibrancy against the serene backdrop of the beach, adding an extra touch of beauty to the picturesque scene unfolding before you.
Seated comfortably, you watched as Donna waded into the waves, her laughter carried by the gentle sea breeze. The scene before you was picturesque—the rhythmic dance of the waves, the sunlight glistening on the water's surface, and Donna's carefree joy as she splashed around in the ocean.
With your notebook and pen in hand, you couldn't resist the urge to capture this idyllic moment. As Donna frolicked in the waves, you found solace in the rhythm of your writing. The tranquility of the beach and the playful serenity of Donna's presence intertwined seamlessly, fueling your creative spirit and etching this serene scene into the pages of your notebook.
Some time later, Donna emerged from the waves, her infectious smile beaming with mischievous intent, "Still sitting here scribbling away, huh?" Donna teased, her tone lighthearted as she reached out to take your hand.
You laughed, feigning protest, "Hey, I'm being productive!"
"Come on, join me! Let's dive into the fun!" she exclaimed, her eyes sparkling with playful enthusiasm. You chuckled, feeling a mix of excitement and hesitation. "Oh, I don't know, Donna! I'm not sure about this!" you teased, though the playful glint in your eyes betrayed your willingness to join in.
Before you knew it, she had grabbed your hand, pulling you playfully towards the ocean. In a mock display of resistance, you tossed your notebook and pen aside, joining in the fun as Donna continued to coax you closer to the water's edge. "No, Donna, wait!" you protested, feigning resistance as she pulled you further into the ocean. The exhilarating rush of the cool water against your skin sent laughter cascading from your lips.
Giggles escaped your lips as you protested in jest, her playful antics irresistibly drawing you towards the inviting waves. As you waded further into the ocean, the water lapping at your chest, you playfully splashed Donna in retaliation for her antics.
A playful water fight ensued, filled with laughter and playful shoves, until the mood shifted into a more physical jest. In the midst of the playful tussle, an unexpected big wave rolled in, catching you off guard and sending you tumbling into the water.
As you emerged from the playful chaos, gasping for air, your instincts kicked in, grasping onto the nearest thing for support—the only thing within reach—Donna. She was laughing, clearly enjoying the friendly shenanigans, and as she pulled you closer, you instinctively wrapped your legs around her waist for support in the water. Coughing slightly, you attempted to wipe the water from your eyes, only to find yourself caught in a moment of closeness that took you by surprise. Donna's laughter was infectious, echoing around you, as she teased you good-naturedly.
"Looks like I've got you now," she quipped, her playful tone punctuated by chuckles.
Summoning the last bit of energy and playfulness, you managed a weak retort, "Oh, shut up," before surprising her with an unexpected response—a kiss that silenced her teasing mid-sentence.
For a moment, time seemed to pause, the ocean's melody the only sound amidst the shimmering water. As your lips met hers in an impulsive yet tender moment, the playfulness dissipated, replaced by a fleeting instance of connection and shared emotions. The brief but intense exchange was a culmination of the playful banter and camaraderie that had defined the day, a spontaneous gesture that spoke volumes in its simplicity.
When you finally pulled away, breathless and slightly taken aback by your own boldness, a shared gaze conveyed more than words ever could. The playful chaos had transformed into an unexpected moment of closeness, leaving you both momentarily stunned, yet silently acknowledging the unspoken understanding that lingered between you in the tranquil embrace of the ocean.
Amidst the playful banter and the surprising kiss, Donna's laughter rang out, a symphony against the backdrop of the lapping waves. Her teasing tone echoed in the air as she playfully teased you for silencing her with a kiss.
"Shushing me with a kiss, huh?" Donna chuckled, her voice laced with amusement.
Not willing to let the moment slip away just yet, you leaned in once more, capturing her lips in another spontaneous kiss. This time, your actions were more confident, more deliberate, fueled by the thrill of the unexpected connection and the desire to express the feelings that had blossomed within you.
As your lips met Donna's again, a soft mumble escaped, your words slightly muffled against her lips, "If you keep teasing me, I'll just keep kissing you."
The words hung in the air, a declaration woven in the playful exchange. The playful banter had turned into an unspoken agreement, a playful challenge that left a tantalizing hint of anticipation lingering between you.
Donna's laughter faded into a breathless silence as your lips parted, both of you now caught in a moment tinged with mutual understanding and a hint of surprise at the sudden boldness that had overtaken you.
For a heartbeat, the air crackled with a mixture of playful tension and a newfound closeness, an unspoken agreement lingering in the salty breeze—a silent promise of further playful banter and perhaps more moments of unexpected connection that lay ahead.
"I don't have any qualms about that," Donna replied with a playful twinkle in her eye, a subtle acknowledgment of the newfound chemistry between you.
The playful banter continued as Donna teased, "Your kisses taste like salt water now, you know."
In response, you leaned in once more, capturing her lips in another kiss, this time more fervent, as if to prove a point. The taste of the ocean mingled in the kiss, a playful retort to her teasing.
As your lips met Donna's in the lingering embrace, a shared sense of exhilaration and playful camaraderie hung between you. The moment was a testament to the unspoken understanding that had bloomed unexpectedly between two kindred spirits.
When the kiss finally parted, both of you were left breathless, caught in a shared moment of anticipation and excitement, the playful teasing evolving into a dance of unspoken desires.
After a lingering kiss that carried a mix of playfulness and appreciation, you playfully remarked to Donna, "That was for teasing me and for paying for brunch!"
Donna's laughter filled the air, a joyful sound that resonated amidst the tranquil ambiance of the beach. Her laughter was infectious, a testament to the lighthearted rapport that had blossomed between you.
"Ah, so that's how it is, huh?" Donna teased back, her tone light and playful as she shook her head in mock disbelief.
As the waves whispered their rhythmic melody, a comfortable silence settled between you, a gentle acknowledgement of the unspoken sentiments that lingered in the air. The shared gaze between you spoke volumes, conveying an unspoken promise of more adventures and playful banter that lay ahead.
The tranquility of the moment was interrupted only by the distant calls of seagulls and the gentle lapping of the waves against the shore—a serene backdrop to the evolving tale of connection and shared moments etched in the sands of Kalokari.
The playful banter between you and Donna continued as you jestingly accused her, "You tried to kill me with that big wave!" Clutching onto Donna, your grip around her neck and waist tightened reflexively as if seeking reassurance, yet also relishing the closeness she offered in the moment.
Donna chuckled in response, teasing back, "Oh, come on now! You weren't paying attention and got knocked down so easily."
Pouting a bit, you leaned in and planted a quick kiss on Donna's cheek, a playful retaliation to her teasing.
"Stop teasing me," you whined playfully, though the sparkle in your eyes betrayed the hint of mischief within you.
Donna's laughter filled the air as she shook her head affectionately, "I'll never stop teasing you, you know that."
Rolling your eyes in mock exasperation, you found yourself enveloped in Donna's touch, her hands caressing your back in a comforting manner, the closeness between you offering a sense of tranquility.
Clasping onto each other, you both remained intertwined in the ocean, the gentle sway of the waves a soothing rhythm as Donna held you, her arms encircling you in a comforting embrace. Your head found a resting place on Donna's shoulder, a gesture of trust and camaraderie that had blossomed within the playful exchange.
For a while, you both simply clung to each other, the serene moment unfolding amidst the lapping waves, a silent communion of shared understanding and a newfound connection that had unexpectedly blossomed on the shores of Kalokari.
As the moment of serene closeness on the beach began to gently disperse, you slowly eased yourself out of Donna's comforting embrace, reluctantly letting go of the connection you had shared in the ocean.
The two of you strolled back to the shore, the sand feeling warm under your feet as you made your way to your belongings. Donna reached into her bag and retrieved a towel, wrapping it around you from behind with a tender care that sent a shiver down your spine. Her face nestled into the crook of your neck as she draped the towel around you, and the sudden closeness made your cheeks flush a deep shade of red. Donna's breath against your skin sent a wave of fluttering sensations through you, leaving you both flustered and comforted at the same time.
Then came the dreaded question that cast a shadow over the tranquil moment. "When do you have to leave the island?" Donna's voice carried a hint of disappointment, and your heart sank at the inquiry.
"Six days," you replied, your tone carrying a tinge of regret. The heaviness of impending departure lingered in the air, casting a bittersweet aura over the otherwise serene beach scene.
Donna shook her head, a sigh escaping her lips as she nestled closer into the crook of your neck, a gesture that conveyed a silent understanding of the limited time left together.
Her hands, gentle yet intimate, roamed your body as she dried you off with the towel, a caress that elicited a swirl of emotions within you. The sensation of her touch, so tender and caring, added to the complexity of the moment—a mix of longing and appreciation for the fleeting connection forged on the sun-drenched shores of Kalokari.
In that intimate closeness, emotions lingered unspoken, the reality of time ticking away overshadowing the tranquil moment. But Donna was determined to not allow thid dampen the moment. Her touch was both gentle and purposeful. With a tenderness that conveyed a depth of understanding, she started to pat and stroke the towel across your shoulders, ensuring each part of your skin felt the comforting touch of the soft fabric.
Her hands moved in a soothing rhythm, tracing along your arms, delicately blotting away the lingering droplets of water. Donna's touch felt caring and intimate, yet respectful of boundaries, as she dried your back with gentle strokes, her movements deliberate and precise. With an almost choreographed grace, she continued her ministrations, paying attention to every detail, her hands navigating the curves of your body in a way that felt both nurturing and familiar. Donna's touch, accompanied by the soft texture of the towel, seemed to erase the remnants of the playful water fight, replacing it with a tender moment of shared intimacy.
She took her time, ensuring no inch of your skin remained damp, her movements unhurried, as if savoring the closeness and the tactile connection between you. The sensation of her touch lingered, a blend of warmth and comfort that wrapped around you like a cocoon.
As Donna worked diligently to dry you off, her care and attention spoke volumes, carrying an unspoken message of companionship and empathy. Each movement of the towel seemed to whisper a tale of shared moments, a silent acknowledgment of the connection forged amidst the playful antics in the ocean.
In that tender exchange, a mix of emotions swirled within you, a bittersweet cocktail of appreciation for Donna's kindness and a pang of regret for the looming departure that threatened to shorten this newfound connection.
Donna's voice, a soft and sensual whisper cut through the air. Her breath hitting the shell of your ear, "Let's make the most of our time then..."
In Donna's Embrace
From behind, she comes with grace,
A towel, soft as an embrace.
Emerging from the ocean's sheen,
She wraps me up in comforting scene.
Her touch, a gentle soothing balm,
Amidst the air, so warm and calm.
The fabric whispers, tender and kind,
As she dries the remnants left behind.
Her hands, a symphony of care,
Tracing my skin with utmost flair.
Each stroke, a tale of understanding,
In this moment, our bond expanding.
With purposeful strokes, she tends,
Blotting droplets that the sea sends.
The closeness lingers in each touch,
Moments shared, which mean so much.
Her motions choreographed, so deft,
Erasing the playful waves that left.
In this drying ritual, a silent art,
A connection born, from the ocean's heart.
In Donna's arms, the towel weaves,
A tale of comfort, my heart believes.
The drying becomes a tender ode,
A bond emerging, in this abode.
Wrapped in her care, I feel whole,
The towel's whisper, a soothing soul.
In Donna's embrace, a moment pure,
A memory cherished, of this shore.
Captivated
Amidst shores kissed by the sun's golden gleam,
A spirit effervescent, an ethereal dream.
Hair kissed by the breeze, eyes as deep as the sea,
An enigma of vibrance, her allure captures me.
Radiant energy in every step she takes,
Beneath the azure skies, a bond slowly awakes.
Youthful exuberance meets seasoned grace,
Drawing me closer, her mystique I embrace.
She lays upon sands, amidst laughter's crest,
Her laughter like music, joy at its behest.
In ocean's embrace, she dances with glee,
A playful spirit, wild and free.
With a gentle touch, she takes my hand,
Guiding me along adventures unplanned.
In her world, age fades, barriers they dissolve,
A dance of spirits, stories untold.
Oh, muse of vivacity, your spirit shines bright,
In your presence, I find my flight.
Through your eyes, a world unfolds,
An unwritten tale that gently molds.
Amidst sands and waves, a connection untold,
In Donna's embrace, a world to behold.

It was late in the night, much later than they should’ve been staying up under the covers, but they couldn’t help it. The tears seemed to run down their face almost nonstop since they let their thoughts spiral, probably from something they could’ve easily avoided if they hadn’t scrolled through old texts.
Their bed felt cold and empty as they sobbed quietly, trying to not wake their roommates up at this hour, and they knew their eyes were going to be puffy and tired by morning.
And when morning rolled around after they had fallen asleep shortly after from what they assumed one in the morning, they felt sluggish and tired, eyes struggling to open at the light that passed through their curtains.
It was a bad habit to grab their phone first thing in the morning, but they couldn't help it. It was a routine that fell into their hectic life, and this was one of the few things that made it feel like the calm before a storm.
They noticed a message from their long-time friend, Mason, bright and centered on their screen, grabbing their attention.
Hey, lunch at 11 in the Main Hall? - Mason
Typing back a reply, their mind wasn’t made up yet and still fuzzy from the night before.
That’s a brunch, not lunch if it’s that early.
Aw, okay. Brunch? - Mason
I’ll think about it, feeling a little tired :(
Okay, see you at 11, I’ll get you coffee :) - Mason
A small smile tugged at the corner of their lips from how thoughtful and knowing he was, having seemingly memorized every little detail of them at the top of his head like a favorite poem.
Slowly, they made their way out of bed, freshening up in the bathroom and changing into clothes that reminded them a little less about the night before, but still cozy and within their comfort zone.
The commute from their dorm to the Main Hall was less than ten minutes by walking, and since winter was just easing into spring, the trees on their route were starting to bloom with softly vibrant pinks and white, fluttering in the air and onto the grassy-green ground dreamily.
It was the little things that made their days a little brighter, and perhaps even reminded them of Mason, all the little lovely things.
Although, they couldn’t risk their friendship over some lingering feelings. It was a lesson, all too well-known, almost a pure resemblance of the fall of Icarus, too close to warmth and then the wings melt away.
A common fairy tale that they ended up getting caught in, over and over again, heartache a taste they knew.
When they arrived at the Main Hall, it was crowded, but not overly crowded to the point where they settled on staying home. Searching through the crowd, it was easy for them to spot Mason, his presence something that they could recognize in a heartbeat.
“Mason.” They spoke his name warmly, having it settled on their tongue like a second home as they sat down across from him.
He smiled sweetly and repeated the gesture, sliding them their go-to coffee order as he did so.
Taking a sip of their drink, they smiled at him, appreciation for the kind act, yet their eyes still felt a little tired. “Thanks for the drink, I would’ve grabbed you a pastry from the bakery down the street but the line looked a little hectic,” they apologized, face hot and tears threatening to form.
The look on his face was gentle and forgiving, something that seemed so fitting for him, a perfect saint. “Don’t worry about it, we can always go together to get a treat, yeah?”
They nodded in agreement, grateful for his patience that was a notable characteristic of his, and yet they always appreciated it, having known too many people with quite the opposite demeanor.
As they both headed out of the Main Hall and started walking towards the bakery side-by-side, the sunlight beamed down warmly on the both of them, much needed after a few weeks of gloomy, rainy weather.
Lost in thought, their mind never seemed to settle, always rushing like a river current, and it felt like forever since they last felt at ease. They always said that they needed a vacation, but they never truly realized how badly they actually needed one.
Assignments after assignments, quizzes and tests and exams, everything seemed to pile up endlessly as they were waiting for the next break like a gasp of air.
Bumping into Mason’s arm, they snapped back to reality, realizing that they almost walked right into oncoming traffic if it wasn’t for him.
“Careful.” His tone was authoritative, but in a way that emphasized his worry. “Are you alright?”
Simply nodding, they didn’t trust their voice to come out as reassuring as they wanted it to be. It would reveal their true feelings, brittle and vulnerable, something they have tried so hard to hide.
And he knew, he knew their little signals by heart. He knew that he shouldn’t try to pry further for now, despite every part of his mind telling him to.
It was a little disheartening for him to be unable to do anything, mainly out of fear of being shut down or coming off as weird, but deep down, he knew that time would slowly pass, and they would eventually open up.
When they both arrived at the bakery, the smell of fresh baked goods was warm and homey, welcoming with open arms. The overhead lights were golden, nostalgic and comforting, but just not enough.
“Which ones do you want, Mason? It’s on me.” They spoke quietly as they rummaged through their bag, searching for their wallet.
He placed his hand gently on their shoulder, causing them to look up at him. His touch felt electric, but in the sense that it grounded them, comfort, but they would never openly admit it. “It’s okay, I’ll pay,”
“No, Mason, I assure you—”
“I assure you, I’ll pay,” he chuckled, pulling out his wallet from his pocket. “I’m not going to end up broke over some treats, m’kay? Let me spoil you a bit,”
They gave a lopsided smile at his wording, still unsure on whether or not they should let him pay. He already got them a coffee earlier today, and they didn’t want to feel like any more of a burden.
He noticed their slight unease, but tried to reassure them once more. “Please?”
“Alright, just this time, okay?”
A bright smile appeared on his face, which in return, caused them to smile as well.
As the worker packed their pastries into a bag, they both stood in front of the cashier, waiting to pay for their food. The silence felt like it was causing some discomfort however, as if it was an omen of something terrible to come, like calm before a storm.
Mason looked over at them, noticing their tired and swollen eyes, noticing how much more dull it seemed. His face warped into concern, searching for a solution, or at this point, answers, the big why to everything. He wanted to make them seem brighter, better. He didn’t want to see them like this.
“You okay? Your eyes look puffy.” As soon as the words fell out of his mouth, he regretted it. A pit fell in his stomach as it churned uncomfortably, and his face was hot in embarrassment.
Their face seemed to freeze at his question as they tried to muster up their voice, hardly audible. “Yeah, no. I’m okay, just a little tired,” they laughed lightly. They tried to wipe at the tears that were forming in the corners of their eyes secretly, but it was little to no use as it was quite obvious.
It sounded more like self-reassurance rather than an answer, and it felt extremely awkward for the both of them as they waited for their food.
His actions, or words rather, had the opposite reaction of what he wanted, and he desperately wanted to turn time back and take his words back.
When the cashier handed them their food, they both left and headed back towards the campus, not speaking for the entire way back. Despite the sound of the busy roads or other campus students chatting and talking, it all felt so false, something was off about it all.
And yet silence hung between them, haunting them as words were unspoken. The tension in the air was disgustingly thick, and it suffocated him, but more so, it made them feel beyond terrible.
Tears pricked their eyes again, threatening to fall and roll down their cheeks to mock them, and their breaths were unsteady, uncertain.
“Hey, um—” Their voice seemed to waver, faltering and crumbling in that moment. “I need to grab something I left at my house, I’ll see you later,” they blurted, heading off in the opposite direction away from him.
Their soul felt crushed and guilty about leaving him within seconds, throwing plans away as if they meant nothing, despite it meaning so much to them, being able to spend time with him.
Arriving home, they went back into their room, tears now rushing down their face freely as they cried. Their body felt exhausted as they tried to lay down in bed, tired and worn out.
The phone buzzed beside them on the mattress, an irritating noise that made them want to crawl under the covers and hide forever as the guilt clawed away at them. They knew it was him texting, trying to check up on them, but they couldn’t bring themselves to respond within the moment.
As their tears eased to a stop after a few minutes, their eyelids felt heavy, causing them to sleep for the next few hours or so until they woke up again.
Mason was calling them, and they debated on whether or not they should pick up the phone, unsure of his reaction to their odd behavior.
“Hello?” Their voice was still groggy and tired, but they tried to clear their throat again.
“Hi, I wanna check in on you real quick. Are you feeling better?” His tone was still caring as ever, seemingly as if nothing ever happened earlier that day.
“Yeah, I’m okay, sorry for earlier—”
“Please, please, please, you don’t have to apologize. We all have our bad days, yeah?” He was comforting and soothing, somehow making their guilt about earlier disappear entirely, a weight lifting off of their shoulders.
They wanted to tear up at how thoughtful and considerate he was, but they held back, appreciating his actions within the moment. “Mason, you’re too sweet,”
“I try,” he chuckled. “But that’s not the point. My point of calling was to make sure that you’re okay.”
“I am okay, Mason. I promise,”
“Good, now please open the front door before your roommates get to me.”
They felt a slight panic before realizing that Mason never really quite cared about how messy they looked, ever, especially within the past few recent years of their friendship.
Opening the door, he stood there with a large bouquet of flowers, plus a few of their favorite snacks, and a rosy cheeked face that screamed how truly flustered he was.
“Listen, please let me in before your roommates bully the both of us,” he pleaded.
Motioning for him to come in, they closed the door after he came inside, and turned around to see him standing there awkwardly, as if he was going to ask a question.
“Mason, what is all of this for?”
He took a deep breath in, face still pink and blushed. “So like, you deserve a good time, and I think that would be dinner for the both of us, and it doesn’t have to be tonight!”
They gave him a skeptical look, unsure of his intentions. “Go on,”
“We can watch movies and relax at home, which is why I brought snacks,” he explained. “Listen, I just think you deserve the best and everything, like, I want to treat you right and not just as a friend, but more,”
Thinking for a moment, they tried to puzzle the pieces together as well as they could, hoping that it wouldn’t be a mixed signal, and that his confession was exactly as it sounded like. “So, a date?”
“Yes, please. That’s what I meant.” He swallowed nervously, afraid and awaiting a response.
“Well, Mason. I think that it would be a brilliant idea,” they smiled, accepting the bouquet from his hands. “Oh, and lucky for us, my roommates are visiting family.”
A smile appeared on his face, “Movie time?”
“Movie time.”

highlights from the last ten days,
My friend was in town from February 22 - 27 :) We went to see a beautiful historical play about Henrietta Leavitt, an astronomer circa the early 1900s, at my favorite local theatre. We went to a brunch potluck with friends, which was filled with good company and delicious homemade brunch treats in a sunny kitchen. We had homemade Indian dinners at home, and watched all of season one of the Netflix Avatar: The Last Airbender, which rekindled my love for the show. We played my favorite board game (Splendor!) and went out for Italian food and sushi, and walked around the frozen lake on a cold morning. :)
I finally got to see Oppenheimer at a cozy friends' movie night last night!
I've had some great cooking wins over the past couple of days. Yesterday's dinner was sirloin steak topped with mushrooms, with crispy air fryer potatoes and oven-roasted broccoli on the side. Tonight I made buffalo chicken wings, sautéed Old Bay green beans, and more crispy potatoes. I normally don't cook side dishes and just stick with roti or rice + the main dish, so I've really enjoyed this experience of cooking larger meals.
Related - to me, freedom, and one of my favorite parts of being an adult, is being able to choose what I want to eat for dinner every night and make that happen.
I've been loving Jade Legacy by Fonda Lee, book three in her Green Bone Saga. It's such a treat to have a trilogy that spans 20+ years of the characters' lives.
I've discovered a new favorite neighborhood spot. It's a little local cafe very close to my house. The walls in the lounge are painted my favorite light pink, and there are floor-to-ceiling windows. Best of all, it's always empty, peaceful and quiet, when I stop in on a weekday morning, once or twice a week. I get a small latte with toasted marshmallow syrup, and I like to sit by the window when I drink it. The vibes in this cafe are impeccable.
It's been sunny with blue skies several days this week, and seeing sun come in through the windows feels so good after the cloudy winter here.
challenges,
Work has been absolutely batshit crazy this week and last week :// The volume and the leadership role that I have for a few different projects is getting to me, and I'm mentally exhausted. I also have to work for part of the day tomorrow. I'm SO excited that I have some time off coming soon. I just need to make it until the end of day Wednesday!

So after that sunrise and talking a lot together you would go to this fancy brunch restaurant.
A lot of mimosa.
He would put his hand on your thigh.
When it would be time to go home, he would kiss you before you open your apartment door.
And because of the alcohol and the attraction you would probably invite him over.
Definitely a sex-on-the-first-date kind of guy but still really sweet and romantic.
Tumblr media
TAEHYUNG
He would invite you on a casual date.
Going to a coffee shop or a restaurant.
He would give you some roses and chocolates too.
After the date, you would walk over the Han river.
He would use the excuse to show you his dog to get you at his place.
You would watch a movie, cuddling a lot.
You would probably end the night both naked in the living room, making love.
Tumblr media
JUNGKOOK
He would invite you over.
He would cook your favorite meal.
On the table, roses and candles.

You will probably finish the night in his bed, naked.

Chapter 1
Chapter 2
Synopsis
(They'll be no more sneak peeks for the chapter after this. My next goal going forward is to get chapter 3 out! <3 Enjoy! ❤️)
Now dressed for the day, Princess Clara dips and twirls out of her room and into the kitchen, her forest friends happily following behind her.
...
Horrified looks filled the room.
...
"... And there!" Princess Clara said, carefully slipping the small sweater she had knitted with the assistance of her animal friends onto the bluebird who had previously exploded and was now featherless.
She believed that his feathers would eventually return over time.

invisible string | Danny Wagner

danny x fem reader
summary: Danny wakes you up with breakfast in bed for your three-year anniversary and has something he wants to ask you;)
yns pov
I start to stir in bed to the smell of waffles and the light melody of a bob dylan song. I open my eyes to look at the beautiful view of nashville through danny and i's bedroom window. the clock read 9:46 am. I flip off my stomach onto my back letting out a big morning stretch. I hear the wood floor of our old tennessee home creak.
"Baby? you awake?" Danny comes around the corner with two cups of coffee dressed up how we like it in his hands. He's in some cotton shorts and a loose tank top with his hair pulled back. His favorite attire to sleep in when it's getting hot outside. "Yes Pookie. Let me brush my teeth so i can give you a big ol kiss." I say sitting up in our shared king bed.
I get out of the bed and as i'm walking to the bathroom Danny picks me up and spins me around. I giggle kicking my feet trying to escape his grasp. He sets me down and spins me around so i'm facing him, his hands on my waist. I put my arms interlocked around his neck and look up into his eyes. "I do not give a fuck if you've brushed that mouth or not. I am going to give m'lady a kiss for our anniversary this second." I giggle and peck his lips. "okay mister don't get your panties in a twist." Danny hold my cheek and kisses me for a few long seconds.
Danny hands me my coffee with one more peck and I head to the bathroom to freshen up for the day. our sphynx cat Dobby follows me into the bathroom to give me some company. I brush my teeth, wash my face, and do some quick skincare. While I was doing all that i hear Danny shuffling around in the bedroom, probably up to something but I have no idea what. I finish my coffee and head out of the bathroom. I see that Danny had freshened the sheets up nicely and on top is a tray of waffles, bacon, and mixed fruit.
Danny is sitting on the bed next to the tray smiling a big grin, waiting for my praises. "Awe Pookie you are the sweetest guy a girl could ask for." I go over to him and lean down giving a kiss. "Want a mimosa? I bought a bottle of champagne to celebrate." I tilt my head thinking "Ooh what about a French 75? Jita got me hooked on those last week at brunch." Danny kisses me, squeezing my hip before standing up. "Anything for my baby. Be right back." I tug his hand to me telling him to stay for a second. "Hey, happy anniversary" Danny smiles and gives my hand a squeeze before leaving the room.
While Danny is gone, I start getting his gift out of my hiding places. I got him a eight week pottery class for beginners that he's been wanting to take and some vinyls he's been wanting. Dobby decides to sit right on top of Dannys vinyls instead of the perfectly good duvet right next to him. I giggle and give his ear a good scratch.
"Two French 75's here." Danny walks in and sets our drinks on the bed side table. We get cozy in the bed and start eating and drinking. Once we finish up i decide it time. "Okay time for presents. Dobby get your bald booty off of daddy's gifts!" Dobby move and take his spot in Dannys lap drifting right off to sleep again. "Okay first open this." I hand Danny the wrapped set of three vinyls he had been wanting. "Thank you baby." Danny pecks my cheek looking at his new additions to his collection. "Okay now open the card." Danny opens his card and reads it silently to himself.
Dear Danny,
You are my person and i couldn't be more happy to have you as my partner in life. You calm my nerves, you heal my scars, and you always have the right words when I need them. Daniel, I love you more than I could every express to you in words. Thank you letting me be the girl who gets to love you for an eternity. And thank you for being the best cat dad in the world (Can't forget that) Love you my Pookie Bear
Love, Yn
Danny looks at me with a pink tinge on his cheeks. He lends over gives me a huge hug "I love yoy so my baby." He kisses my neck and I hug him tightly back. "And I bought you that pottery class you've been talking my ear off about for weeks" Danny pulls back and gives me a surprised look "Oh you are the best girlfriend ever" He starts leaving little pecks all over my face I giggle letting him express his happiness all over my face.
"Okay okay your turn" Danny hands me a card to open. "Pookie the breakfast was more than enough. You didn't have to get me anything else" Danny rolls his eyes and shoves the card into my hands. "Just open the card and be grateful baby." I sigh and start opening the card.
Dear Yn,
To say that I love you is an understatement. I love when you sneeze anytime the sun is out, I love when your real laugh comes out and everyone around us looks at you like you're crazy, but you don't care because you're having too much fun. I love when your drunk and throwing up, you'll push me away and all you'll want is your best friend to comfort you, and you'll just keep saying sorry about not wanting me at that moment. I love when you play folklore on the jakes acoustic everytime we're at the beach. Yn, I could go on and on about the little things I love about you forever but I think Taylor says it best. I have always felt like we have this invisible string connecting our lives, pulling us towards each other, always finding our way into our blooming love. Yn I am the luckiest man on the entire planet because i know you, let alone love you. I never want to experience this life without you. So...I have a question to ask you.
I look at Danny from the card with my tear stained cheeks and red eyes. He's holding a box with an engagement ring inside. "So Yn Yln...Will you do me the honor of letting me marry you?" I start sobbing and pulling him into a bone crushing hug.
"Of course I will. I love you so much."
"Oh baby I love you so much more. So much"
•••••
yes i am a swifty and yes i think danny is too okay back to the point...i want danny to just love me and hold my hand and feed me until i'm full and make me gain fifteen pounds of healthy relationship fat bc he just love me so much....okay anyways If you have any ideas for any of the boys lmk :)

You didn't hear from Negan for two weeks. He didn't come to brunch. He didn't answer your texts. You were beginning to think he was ghosting you until he finally called you. He asked you to meet him at the cafè and you were happy to.
When you arrived you saw him sitting on the patio waiting for you. He wore a black tshirt and jeans, baseball cap low casting a shadow over his eyes. Negan looked uncomfortable as you walked up to him. Up until this point the man had dealt with difficult situations in his calm unflappable way that made you think nothing could shake him. Seeing him out of sorts made you uneasy.
He was bouncing his leg nervously. You sat down beside him and reached a hand under the table, placing it on his thigh.
"What is it? What's wrong?" You used the calming tone you usually reserved for clients.
Negan took a deep breath and let it out, but it didn't seem to ease his tension.
"I don't wanna put anything on you, 'cause I know you're going through a hard time right now. I know it, but I realized something and I haven't been able to stop thinking about it ever since."
You reached for his hand and took it gently between both of yours.
"It's going to be okay. Just take your time. I'm listening."
He chuckled a bit, it only sounded half hearted.
"That's the thing. I don't think it will be, but I gotta say it." His hazel eyes looked directly into your eyes.
He spoke your name softly.
",I love you. I fucking fell in love with you and I think I've been in love with you for a while. I just didn't realize it until a few weeks ago."
You stared at him, shocked.
"And I think, we're meant to be together, because there isn't a thing about you that I don't love. Be honest, have you ever had that with anyone before? This, this thing where you don't get tired of each other, where you just get each other, where you don't find it hard to forgive them because none of the little shit matters. All you want is for that person to be safe, healthy, and happy. Do you, know, what I mean?"
You found yourself nodding and sniffed. Negan reached over and wiped a tear from your cheek. You hadn't known you were crying.
"I'm not asking for anything, but I have to tell you how I feel, because you deserve to know, no matter what you choose to do about it."
Your heart felt full of emotion, full enough to burst. You leaned in and pressed your lips to his. He kissed you despite your tear streaked face and trembling hands. His lips kneaded yours tenderly. You kissed him back for a moment and then he gently broke away.
"What about Olivia?"
"I ended things with her last week. You're the only person I want to be with. So tell me, is this it? Is this goodbye?" He asked, his eyes trying to read your face.
You shook your head.
"No." You looked down at his hand in yours.
"I won't lie. I'm scared. Really scared, but I can't deny that I love you and I want to be with you."
He leaned forward and took you into his arms. You held onto him.
"If we can go slow and I mean, really really slow. It would give me time to work on my fear. Could you be okay with that?"
He moved back just enough to look into your eyes.
"We can go as slow as you need to. As long as we're together. That's all I want."
He kissed your cheek and pulled you closer into his embrace. Although it had been a long and winding path to get here, you knew that you were in love with him and from the beginning you had been running from those feelings.
••••••••••••••
The snow that winter was fluffy, you got an inch or two every couple of weeks from November to Christmas. That Christmas eve you and Negan were the last to go to bed again though this time, you would be sleeping together in the guest bedroom. Your spot in front of the cozy fireplace was too good to give up and so you stayed snuggled up on your parent's sofa, Negan's arm around your shoulder, staring into the flames. After a while you could feel him looking at you and turned toward him.
"Have I ever told you how beautiful you are?" He asked for the third time that day.
You laughed softly.
"You tell me all the time."
Negan tweaked your nose.
"Good. I'll make sure to keep telling you everyday."
You kissed his cheek.
"There's something I've been wanting to talk to you about." You told him, gazing into his honey dappled olive eyes. "I've been thinking about it and I'd like to move in together." You held your breath, taking in the widening of his eyes and the dropping open of his mouth.
"I would love to have you move in with me Doll! Are you, ready?"
You nodded.
"Are you sure?" He asked again.
You nodded.
"Yes, If I've learned anything in the last six months, it's that you are nothing like Harlan. You are a wonderful boyfriend and a kind person. I believe this is going to be good for us.Since I don't start teaching until mid January, I figured we could start moving me in after Christmas. If that's okay with you."
He leaned in and began peppering your face with kisses.
"Doll, you have no idea, how happy this makes me."
You threw your arms around him.
"It makes me so happy to think about getting to wake up next to you each morning." You pecked his lips. " So unbelieveabley happy."
He chuckled.
"Same here, Doll. Same here."
You served yourselves another glass of wine and sat sipping them in front of the fireplace until you were ready to go to bed. Hand in hand you walked slowly down the hallway and into the guest room.
After all you had been through, you no longer wanted to be anywhere that he wasn't. You no longer felt you were being caged in. You felt safe with a man you whole heartedly knew you could trust and would love for the rest of your life.

Clexa 36. … to give up control
~to give up control~
“But, babe, I hate surprises,” came the petulant whine from somewhere behind the large cup of coffee that Lexa currently had cradled in her slim fingers. Laugher rang out throughout the diner as sleepy patrons stumbled into the small but cozy space, the usual suspects of slightly hungover grad students making their weekly pilgrimage to the local brunch spot in the promise of $5 stacks of flapjacks and bottomless coffee refills. Steam curled from the beverage in question as Lexa pouted up at her girlfriend from behind the white ceramic rim, sleep still sitting heavily on her shoulders as she looked across the booth with stormy green eyes. Clarke fondly reached across the aluminum table to run a loving finger between Lexa’s eyebrows, trying her best to smooth out the frown that currently creased her forehead.
“Lex, I know, believe me- if there’s anything I have learned from you in four years of dating, it’s that. But, you only turn twenty-five once, and you’re so slammed with your third year of law school that I really want to do this for you. This semester really isn’t busy at the gallery, and I have some free time on my hands. Please?” Clarke pulled out her biggest, softest puppy eyes as she gazed at her girlfriend, her hand sliding down to run a gentle thumb across Lexa’s lips. Clarke smiled secretly, knowing she was victorious when she felt two soft lips pucker gently to kiss her fingertip. She yelped quietly when a sharp set of perfectly straight teeth nipped shortly after, those perfect rose lips curving up slightly as Clarke yanked her hand back to the safety of her side of the booth.
“Ok, ok, fine,” Lexa conceded after taking a haunty sip of coffee when Clarke glared playfully at her, cradling her injured appendage in her other hand. “As long as you don’t go too overboard, and it’s low key, and like five people max.”
Clarke smiled serenely at her mildly panicked girlfriend, draining the dregs of her coffee and tossing enough money to cover their bills plus tip on the table, waving slightly as their usual server, Arlene, nodded in acknowledgement and raised a coffee pot to wave goodbye. Clarke stood up, slinging on her winter coat as she prepared to go back into the snow. She leaned over and stamped a sweet kiss squarely on Lexa, backing off just before Lexa could lean in to deepen it.
“I know it’s hard for you to relinquish control, Lex. I love you so much and I promise I won’t abuse it too badly.” She winked as she scooted out of the cracked pink bench seat, gathering her bag before striding towards the glass double doors to leave, knowing that Lexa would be shortly behind her.
“Wait, Clarke, what do you mean too badly?!” Lexa questioned as she caught up, jamming her head through her wool sweater as she scrambled to keep up with her plotting girlfriend. She twined their hands together despite her perceived annoyance, loathe to be too far from her partner in their limited weekend time together.
Clarke just smiled, tucking her nose under the hem of her coat as they stepped out into the brisk winter air.
