you know, i am not someone who moves on from ships i love really quickly. i tend to still think about ships i love for years. which is why i've really been wondering to myself why, even as someone who liked the lucifer finale, i don't care about deckerstar as much anymore.
this is really just me talking to myself but i'm gonna try to put it into words.
i think the first issue i have is that i feel like tom ellis and lauren german didn't have very good chemistry as a canon couple. i know a lot of people disagree, but that's how i feel. in s6, when i see them kiss and cuddle something about it feels kind of wooden and mechanical, like they're going through the motions of being a couple but the natural ebb and flow of it isn't there and i find it really distracting. i think they're both great actors, but for some reason they don't have a spark i needed them to have.
that aside, i think i do have some disappointments in how the show went after s2 that i kept expecting to be addressed and just never were. i loved s2 deckerstar so much because there was so much potential for a truly poetic relationship to happen there. i loved lucifer falling for chloe, and being vulnerable with her and how he grew to love humanity by essentially becoming human with her. i thought that was such an amazing way for him to understand why god loved humans so much, but instead the way this was just taken away in s5 left me feeling really bereft. it's not a secret that ideally i did want lucifer to choose to become mortal in the end, but i'm happy with what they did with him and think it makes sense. what doesn't make sense to me is how they tied all the love and vulnerability into this contrived plot that felt very inorganic in the end.
i feel kinda bummed because i actually don't like lucifer's declaration of love to chloe. when 4x10 ended i felt like that WAS him telling her he loves her, and then in s5 it's like they chose to undo it so he could convince himself "he isn't capable of love." to get him to actually say the words in the end, tying his feelings or worthiness to his ability to love in a frankly strange way.
more than that, i feel very disappointed at how little importance chloe has in their relationship in the end. before s3 i honestly thought her miracle status would be explained as her having a purpose outside of lucifer that made her celestial somehow, but that ended up not being the case. then we also never see the candy situation or sacrifices conversation happen on screen after how we see that him abandoning her before is something that still negativity affects their relationship and how secure she feels in it, which is why it was necessary for them to work through that before getting together.
after s4, chloe becomes so accepting and supportive of lucifer that she almost becomes passive and therefore their ENTIRE dynamic changes and they kind of lost what made them... them. even in s5a her freakout about him not telling her why she was created is given a bit of attention before being completely dropped after she understands. and i don't like that. there should have been more middle ground and more insight to her feelings. this also applies to a lot of other things, but i'm not talking about the finale - just their dynamic. it's like chloe is an extension of lucifer vs being her own person.
i hate that i feel this way because i loved them for so long, thought about them so much and had so many expectations that were never met. i don't mind them being separated until she dies, but i do mind their relationship on earth not hitting the mark before they spend eternity together after.

Top 5 Characters in ANF Who Would’ve Made Better Love Interests Than Kate
There are a lot of mixed opinions on TWDG: A New Frontier. Some people like it, some don’t, and some people hate it so much that they refuse to accept as canon in the series. Extreme? Yeah, but hey, to each their own.
One thing that always bothers me when I do my replay of the series and this game is how much Kate is forced on us and even kinda punishes us for not romancing her. Like, no offense, but I’m not really interested in dating my sister-in-law, especially when her husband is actually alive, and even if she wasn’t my brother’s wife, she’s still not a character I have chemistry with, y’know?
And every time I play, I can’t help but think that almost anyone else in ANF would’ve been a better romantic interest for Javi over Kate, so I decided to make that the list for this week.
I would’ve loved more choices and for the game to actually show Javi’s canon bisexuality outside of a flirty line with Jesus that most players didn’t even pick. Just sayin’.
I do want to note that if you enjoy the romance with Kate and the relationship between her and Javi, that’s totally cool. Just because I don’t like it doesn’t mean you can’t ship them, y’know? I’m not here to try to change your mind or tell you you’re bad for shipping something I don’t because I’m not a dingus. You do what makes you happy, friend. :)
Besides, going off the stats, a majority of players romanced her so if anything, I’m the weirdo. This list is just for fun!
Before we start, just wanna say a big thank you to @pi-creates for helping out with this one! Really appreciate it! Now, here are my top 5 characters who, in my opinion, would’ve made better love interests for Javier than Kate.
5. Jane if the writers didn’t turn her into a dead potato
Tumblr media
Oh man, you should see your face right now.
Wait, wait, stop! Before you click outta here in a huff with your “Kenny good Jane bad” grunts and come yell at me, just hear me out-- this entry is mostly a joke and the other four on this list are serious, okay?
I needed someone to put at #5 and after talking over some options and going back and forth.... Jane came up as a joke and then kind of made the list. Because really, I thought about it. I was like, “Would I really rather have dingdong “whatever happens stay out of it” potato face Jane as a love interest over Kate? Do I dislike Kate as an option that much?” and Pi and I talked about this for a while and yeah.... yeah I would actually.
When I said anyone but Kate, I guess I really meant anyone.
Trust me, I know, I’m just as surprised. I guess this really says a lot about my feelings for Kate. I didn’t know I disliked her this much either.
But for fun, let’s entertain this idea of the writers NOT pulling the ol’ character assassination on Jane and she made it to Richmond with Clementine and AJ because--
Jane: "One time I ate glass because I was drunk and thought it was sugar."
Javier: "I gambled on my own baseball matches and disgraced myself for money."
Jane: “Well, I dragged my little sister around with me after everything went to shit until I finally gave her what she wanted and left her to die.”
Javier: “I wasn’t there when my dad was fighting cancer and when I finally showed up, I was too late and he was already dead, then he turned and I bashed his skull in with a piece of wood.”
Jane: “I shot a dude’s dick off once.”
Javier: “Oof. I insulted an old lady’s cake and then shot her eye out.”
Jane: “I screwed a guy when I was supposed to be securing a place for some lady to have her baby and it resulted in the death of a teenage girl.”
Javier: “I screwed my brother’s wife.”
Jane: “...”
Javier: “In my defense, I thought he was dead.”
Jane: “That’s fair.”
Clementine, exasperated and emo: “Oh my god.”
....I mean... we might be onto something here, c’mon--
Okay, now onto the more legit entries.
4. Conrad
Tumblr media
Now listen... I know, okay? I know. I know this one can be seen as a bit problematic considering the fact that Conrad, in his grief and anger over Francine’s death, held a gun to Gabe’s head and threatened Javi and Clementine.... plus Javi can literally murder him.
...and if you don’t do anything, Conrad with murder both Gabe and Javi and you’ll get a “YOU ARE DEAD” screen...
But we don’t talk about that because it’s not canon.
I know, but listen... I’m allowed to have ships that are difficult, as are you, and this is my list so... there.
If Conrad was a love interest that’s the route I’d take because I love him and I think a relationship between him and Javi could’ve been so damn good if properly done.
I just find Conrad to be an interesting character with a great arc that you only get to see if you don’t shoot him... which is what most people did, so they missed out. And like, I get it, I get why y’all shot him but maybe next time you play, you could consider not doing that?
So here’s the thing, Javi and Conrad share something-- they both lost loved ones because of shithead Badger. Javi is heartbroken after Mariana’s death, Conrad is devastated after Francine’s death, and they both handle that in different ways. Conrad becomes so focused on revenge and getting into Richmond, that he’s willing to threaten two kids in order to get what he wants but the thing is... that’s not him.
He even says so himself when you keep him alive-- he genuinely apologizes for what happened and will end up coming back to save Javi’s life in ep4. The potential for this to work as a relationship? It’s there... the only problem is that my confidence in the writers handling something like this is low, but let’s pretend they used their time and brains wisely-- ya got yourself a classic slow-burn friends to enemies to friends again to lovers romance and I’m here for it.
3. Paul “Jesus” Monroe
Tumblr media
A lot of people really like the idea of Javi and Jesus and wanted him to be a romantic option, and I don’t blame them. They have chemistry in the scenes they share, and Javi can straight up flirt with him at the end of the season, and it’s super cute... of course, I wish we had more but Telltale was too scared to actually show Javi’s bisexuality outside of that one line, I guess.
But, anyway, this ship has a lot of sweet fanart that we love to see.
The only real reason he isn’t higher on the list is that Jesus is apparently already in a relationship at this point? I guess? From what I’ve been told? Listen, I don’t read the comics, I don’t watch the show, I just go off what y’all tell me. Plus, I believe Kent joked about Jesus having someone in each community during the commentaries so like... that’s a thing?
But let’s pretend that we throw that all out and Jesus is single and ready to be in a committed relationship with our boy Javier here. Like I mentioned above, these characters have a believable chemistry from the moment they meet and I think that has a lot to do with how charming they are by themselves. Those different charms work well together.
I also enjoy how much of a badass Jesus is when it comes to fighting off walkers. Javi has a lot of force that you feel with each hit, while Jesus almost has a lighter but just as impactful hit? I dunno if I’m explaining that well-- basically, Javi strong but Jesus can bounce off walls and do cool shit with weapons that feels effortless.
It’s a combo of fighting styles that I love, so these two fighting together? *chef kiss*
There’s also Jesus’ morality and how he wants to see Javier make “good” decisions, y’know? Sure, he gets pissy if you murder the shit outta Badger, which is mostly just Telltale showing you consequences, but I get it. He sees a lot of potential in Javi, more than Javi himself sees. And unlike certain characters, Jesus doesn’t completely hate you for doing something he doesn’t agree with to a frustrating degree.
If the game gave us the option to pursue Jesus as a love interest, he and Javier would’ve been such a badass couple with a sweet romance.
2. Eleanor
Tumblr media
This one might come as a surprise to those of you who know my feelings about Eleanor... as in, I don’t like her. I never forgave her for the shit she pulled in ep4/ep5, and now every time I replay ANF and she shows up? Well, all I really hear is the hissing of a snake.
But, putting those feelings aside and looking at her from a different perspective, I do believe that she would’ve made for a better love interest than Kate assuming that if you romanced her, she wouldn’t rat everyone out to Joan, y’know?
Hell, most people believed that Eleanor was going to be the second option with Kate back when the episodes were coming out, and for good reason. The chemistry is there in the flirting, and their relationship could’ve been super cute.
Of course, Eleanor being a love interest also comes with things becoming awkward with Tripp, but c’mon-- as awkward as pursuing a relationship with your sister-in-law and never telling your brother after finding out he’s alive? Nah, I don’t think so.
Plus, for the first three episodes, Eleanor’s not a bad character. In fact, she’s pretty damn likable, she deeply cares for the group and wants to use her medical skills for good.
And you can tell through the dialogue that she and Javi are fond of one another... well, I guess until they shove the Kate thing in our faces and suddenly Eleanor’s like “oh, I thought you two were a thing??” like... Eleanor, we were flirting and I totally rejected all of Kate’s advances last episode I mean??
If she were a love interest, instead of turning on us, she would... y’know, not do that and instead help us out. We have a couple cute moments like back in ep1 where she’s patching Javi up but this time with a smooch? Super cute.
1. Tripp
Tumblr media
Okay but seriously, why wasn’t Tripp a love interest?
He’s the perfect option. I just-- uuuughhhhh.
They already have a great believable bromance, so why not take it a step further and make it an official romance? Oh wait, that’s right, ya gotta kill off 95% of your determinant characters, I forgot. Sorry Tripp.
Well, fuck that. Out of all the other adult characters, Javi has the most chemistry with this man. I believe them more than I believe him and Kate. Sure, they got off to a rocky start the progression of their relationship felt natural with every episode.
That scene where Tripp is confiding in Javi about his feelings for Eleanor? And in turn, Javi can confide in him about Kate? One of my favorite scenes. I only wish there was an option to tell Tripp he can do much better and set the path for the romance.
Seriously, I’d probably feel more okay about the romance with Kate if Tripp were the second option. That way, Kate wouldn’t be so forced onto the player, the writers confirming Javi’s bisexuality on Twitter or whatever wouldn’t feel like they were trying to earn points without actually showing representation, and we would’ve gotten the beauty that is Javier and Tripp.
Also, then Tripp could make it to the end without dying that dumb death of his that no one likes.
And if I haven’t convinced you yet, then look at these swaps Pi did--
Tumblr media Tumblr media
--and tell me they aren’t fucking perfect?? You can’t, because look at them.
Where’s my Tripp route, Telltale??
---
Honorable Mentions
-If I wasn’t sticking to just ANF characters, Luke probably would’ve made the list because that’s apparently a popular combo and I dig it.  -Pudding... because Javi fucking loves pudding.  -Honestly Max probably would’ve been a better love interest than Kate oof--
---
So, whattya think? Do you agree with this top 5 or nah? Do you have a favorite Javi ship? Let me know, I’d love to hear from you. :D

Kinda wanna post “reblog this if you ship Tokka but don’t ship Kataang” in the Tokka tag but don’t want to invite shipping discourse. Just… why must people always lump those ships together. Kataang is just so unhealthy and dysfunctional to me, and the maturity gap/power imbalance has always weirded me out, not to mention all the one sided attraction, codependency, misogynistic tropes, lack of communication, r/NiceGuy rhetoric, complete lack of anything even remotely resembling chemistry, and non consensual kisses. The only thing it has in common with Tokka is that it’s best friends to lovers (although Tokka actually had a normal healthy friendship and not that weird mother-son Oedipus complex thing where he projects his trauma onto her as a coping mechanism), the age gap (but then again we ship Tokka as adults, not as kids, and although the physical age gap in Tokka is technically bigger, the maturity gap is a lot smaller), and Person A having a crush on the oblivious Person B (but Toph’s crush was pretty sweet and innocent and she understood that he would too old for her and that he was with Suki, whereas Aang’s crush on Katara was….. oh boy).
Ope the salt and tea on the dash (I like it tho I’m in a savory mood lmao).
I wouldn’t say I’m shocked when people lump these ships into the same group, but it does kind of stink that there aren’t more options and that it’s not really an active ship at the moment. To me, fanon is all about finding things you love about a show, exploring different pairs and dynamics, and creating and seeing content that builds on a world someone gave us. It sucks when your favorite pair isn’t getting the same kind of love as others and you’re left with old (but still amazing!) content and your own ideas and headcanons.
But like most things, people present the easiest shipping situations and the most popular ones win. Not to say that’s wrong! I ship one of the most popular ships now, and it’s because the content, the metas, and the quantity of content moved me to love the pairing. So when it comes to Tokka & Kat/aang it’s just… what was easiest and most popular. And I really don’t feel like it’s for any other purpose than to just pair people off. Like Tokka fics have minor mentions of Katara and Aang, and I’ve never read a Kat/aang fic but I can imagine they just put Sokka and Toph together because it’s easy and more ship tags means potentially more eyes on your work. I’ve never really read a fic where both those particular relationships were both actively looked at and worked on in a fic, and while I’m not saying others ships do that with all their minor ships, there are some that work on at examining more than one ship at a time. And those can be cool, especially when you like all the ships they talk about lol!
I also think that most people that ship Tokka are canon shippers too, so they’re not thinking about other ships or pairings like we “had” to for our fav ships. Or maybe they were like me and just didn’t care at all about the minor relationships in the fic and only read/looked for content related to Tokka. I agree now with what you’ve said are problems with Kat/aang (def gives me weird vibes that I don’t care for), but I didn’t blink twice at the mention of their relationship when I first read fanfiction for Tokka. In fact, I probably just skimmed until Toph and Sokka were mentioned again haha.
It really would be nice to see other fics and relationships explored next to Tokka, but the fandom seems pretty established with ship groupings and that ship seems pretty stuck in the canon category… cue sad stitch.

Chapter One - Beginnings
Summary: Sam and Spencer meet on a case where a serial arsonist terrorizes a college campus. Sam and Dean think it may be a phoenix. Takes place during the events Criminal Minds 1x02
Ship: Sam Winchester x Spencer Reid
Word Count: 3.8k
CW: Canon typical violence, heavy out of canon, monsters are still real
Tumblr media
Spencer leaned forward in his seat, placing pawns on the chess board in front of him. The plane rides usually took long enough for Gideon and himself to fit at least one match in before arriving.
“Hey Reid, you got a statistic on arsonists?” Morgan asks, not once glancing over his shoulder.
“82% are white males between 17 and 27. Female arsonists are far less likely, their motive typically being revenge.”
“Sounds like our boy’s a student.”
The Behavioral Analysis Unit had been called out to identify and detain a serial arsonist who had been terrorizing Bradshaw College in Tempe, Arizona. The unknown subject, Unsub, had set multiple fires within a few weeks, and was escalating rapidly. As far as Morgan was concerned, the Unsub was a student on campus. Gideon, however, believed that the unit shouldn’t attempt to categorize the arsonist so early in the case.
The jet landed only a few hours later in sunny Arizona, though its beauty was darkened by the woes and depression of the students and faculty on campus. Aaron “Hotch” Hotchner and Gideon hit the ground running, immediately going to talk with the Dean of Students, Ellen Turner.
The Dean offered what little information that she knew, that diesel fuel had been stolen a day before a fire was set and chemicals from a chemistry lab. Hotch was worried, though his stoic expression never wavered, and expressed his concerns to Gideon.
Spencer went to investigate the scene of the first fire alongside Hotch. They approached the room, only to find it occupied by another man facing away from them. Spencer spared a glance towards the man before turning to Hotch, raising an eyebrow in concern. Agent Hotchner raised his eyebrows and cleared his throat, grabbing the young man’s attention in front of him. He turned around, slightly shaking the brown bangs across his head.
“I’m SSA Aaron Hotchner with the FBI, who are you and what are you doing on my crime scene?”
“Oh, uh… I’m Detective Sam Winchester, with Smith Detective Services. I was called on this case by the first victim’s mother.” Sam reaches a hand out to Hotch, who grudgingly shakes it. Sam turns to Spencer, seemingly noticing him for the first time, and offers his hand.
“O-oh, actually the number of germs passed through handshakes is alarmingly high. It would actually be safer to kiss,” Spencer stutters over his words, looking down at his feet as he finishes his sentence. Hotch glances at Spencer before moving into the dormitory to assess and analyze the damage and possible causes.
Sam peers down at the man standing in front of him, “As nice as that would be, I think Agent Hotchner might kick my ass if we kissed on a crime scene.” Sam admired Spencer’s red tie and beige shirt combination before turning to Hotch.
“The door was locked,” Hotch says.
“Matthew Rowland and his roommate watched as the doorknob turned against the lock,” Spencer states.
“But the unsub couldn’t get in.”
“So he pours the accelerant into the room from the hallway.”
“Wait,” Sam cuts in, “He wouldn’t have been able to see the fire.”
Spencer nods along and adds, “But he could hear Matthew Rowland screaming.”
Hotch looks at Sam again, “What’re you thinking Winchester?”
Sam takes a deep breath, “I believe he left quickly to avoid being spotted.”
Hotch shakes his head, “It doesn’t make sense.” He moves over to Spencer’s side.
“Pyromania as a mental disorder may just be a simple myth, but we do know from precedent that serial arsonists derive pleasure,” Spencer blushes ever-so slightly and moves his gaze away from Sam, “from pathological fire setting.”
“Sex and power,” Hotch agrees. Sam chokes down a cough.
“Why would he set a fire he couldn’t watch?” Spencer seems puzzled for the first time that day.
Sam quickly looks him up and down, “Well if that isn’t the question of the hour.”
Hotch heads out of the dorm and heads down to Elle and Gideon. “There was no device used on Matthew Rowland,” Gideon says, explaining the simultaneous ignition devices to an arriving Agent Hotchner. Gideon analyzes the third device in the box, “The unsub set that one manually?”
“He wanted to be there to enjoy the kid’s death,” Morgan inputs, only glancing up when he hears a knock at the door.
A man, roughly in his mid-twenties with short and slicked brown hair, strolls in with a light air of arrogance. “I don’t think so.”
“Who the hell are you?” Morgan questions, moving a hand towards his holster.
“Dean Winchester, private investigator, and you are?”
“That’s SSA Derek Morgan. Spencer, I mean Dr. Reid was just telling me about him.” Dean spins around to see his brother walking just slightly too close to Spencer for it to be casual. Sam notices his brother’s look and shuffles away from Spencer’s side. “Sorry, I’ve only been introduced to Agent Hotchner and Dr. Reid, and perhaps Agent Morgan.”
Hotch nods towards Morgan, who then moves his hand away from his holster. He gestures around the table, “This is SSA Gideon and SSA Greenaway. Now that introductions are done, let’s focus on the case.”
Elle nods, “Well if the target was Matthew Rowland, then why set the other two fires?”
The BAU debates for a while, attempting to figure out the motive behind the fires. Dean moves towards Sam, gesturing with his head to the other side of the room where they wouldn’t be heard. Sam speaks first, “So get this, the diesel fuel was stolen from the grounds shed before the fire that killed Matthew Rowlands was set. Those FBI agents are thinking pyromaniac with his heart set on revenge.”
“And what are you thinking?”
“I’m not sure if it’s entirely possible, but Dean, what if we’re dealing with a phoenix?”
“Why would a phoenix need to use gasoline to create a fire? It could’ve incinerated the kid in a heartbeat.”
“For the dramatics, and to see him suffer? I’m not sure yet, but there’s something more here than just some college student that’s a little too happy with a lighter.”
Hotch looks back towards the brothers, narrowing his eyes before turning back towards his team.
“You say ‘college student’ as if you weren’t one not that long ago.” Dean quips before flinching slightly. He knew that would bring Sam’s recent loss of his girlfriend. Sam glared down at his brother with tears in his eyes before moving back towards Spencer’s side.
Spencer turned and motioned for Sam to join him and Elle in their makeshift office space. They grabbed coffees and sat down, throwing theories and ideas at one another again.
“The timer sets the road flare, which then lights the chemical mixture inside the canister. Simple,” Elle states before taking a long drink of her coffee. Sam snorts.
“I mean, there’s a meticulous construction to it,” Spencer rambles on about the construction of the explosive.
“What if it’s a chemistry student or professor?” Sam interjects, sweeping his hair out of his eyes.
“Mmm… I say student. You need self-confidence to lecture in front of a classroom full of 30 college kids. Arsonists are socially incompetent. This guy, he doesn’t go on dates. He doesn’t go to parties. He doesn’t feel comfortable in front of groups.” Elle goes on. Spencer looks up towards her with an offended and sad look in his eye. “And of course he’s a total psychopath.”
Spencer shrugs and looks back down at the device he was fiddling with. Elle walks out of the room to get some air. Sam slides over towards Spencer. “Hey, I’m sorry about what she said. I’m sure she means well.”
“It’s fine, I’m used to it. She’s not wrong anyways, 23 years and I haven’t been on a date in my life.”
“I’m sure there’s plenty of guys and girls who’d love to go on a date with you. I mean, why wouldn’t they? You’re smart, handsome, and a FBI agent.” Sam’s eyes widen a fraction before he clears his throat. Within a second, he hears a fire alarm going off. Spencer looks towards Sam in alarm before taking off, Sam only a step behind him.
Derek and Dean find Elle walking down the stairs, and turn to the now smoking building in alarm. They sprint towards the building, only to find Gideon in there attempting to rescue the latest victim. Derek pulls Gideon away from the scene as Elle and Dean back out, clearing the rest of the students off the stairs and out of the building.
Sam and Spencer reach the building, looking up in disdain. Hotch reaches them and Elle, whom he tells to take photos of the crowd. Dean moves over to Elle’s side and begins taking photos alongside her, “Hey hot stuff.” He winks and she rolls her eyes, “What? Too soon?”
Hotch, Spencer, and Sam stand in the chemistry lab, watching the students closely. “Reid, since you’re more their age, why don’t you do the talking?” Hotch demands, rather than truly asking. Spencer looks at him with apprehension.
“Why can’t Sam do it? He’s around my age, at least from what I can tell. He’s better with talking and connecting with them.”
“Winchester. I need you to talk to the students.”
Sam turns towards the older man, narrowing his eyes before nodding, “Only if Reid comes with.” Another raised eyebrow from Hotch. “I get jittery sometimes, and it’s nice to have backup.” Spencer’s lips quirk up in a small smile.
Sam clears his throat, “Hi, guys. I’m Detective Sam Winchester and this is Dr. Spencer Reid. I’m a private investigator.”
“I’m a, uh, agent with the- the BAU, the Behavioral Analysis Unit of the FBI. Which, um, it used to be called the BSU, the Behavioral Science Unit, but not anymore.” Spencer rambles.
“What he’s trying to say is we’d love to know how you can help us,” Hotch smoothly cuts in, earning a stern glare from Sam. Sam turns to Spencer and gives him an encouraging smile before turning back to the students.
One of the male students gets up and walks over towards them holding a hand out and asking, “May I please?” He grabs the lightbulb from Spencer, “See this? Drill a hole in the side, fill it with gasoline or whatever’s good and flammable. Turn the light on. Boom.” After a quick judging look from Spencer, he continues on, “That is what went down, didn’t it?”
“The stuff’s all over the net,” a girl from the back chimes in.
“You wanna know what I think? I think it would be a good time to take a semester off.” The male student pushes the lightbulb into Spencer’s chest.
Sam moves towards Spencer, almost pushing him behind. “Don’t touch him.” Hotch looks at the men and the student before heading to the elevator. They all follow him in.
“Hold on. You need a key to get it movin’ after 10 PM.” The male student says, almost smugly.
“So what are you still doin’ here?” Hotch asks.
“I can’t leave. We’ve all got projects. You know how to solve the three-body problem? Computing the mutual gravitational interaction between the Earth, Sun, and Moon?”
Sam watches Spencer nod his head along to the student’s words. “You actually know how to solve that?” Spencer nods. “I figured that you were a genius for being a doctor at the age of… Wait, hold old even are you?”
“I’m 23.”
“You’re 23 and you already have a doctorate? I’m 22 and I don’t even have a degree.”
“Yes, as well as multiple other bachelor’s degrees. I’m working towards earning another PhD.”
Sam lets out a low whistle that has Hotch turning towards them, assessing. Sam meets his gaze and cocks his head a little before turning back to Spencer. He smiles down at Spencer for a moment before the elevator opens.
The BAU gathers around a table, listening to the Unsub’s message that was left on the hotline. Dean stood next to Elle, actually paying attention to the case instead of flirting with her. He glanced over to where Sam was standing. Sam was behind Spencer, who was perched on a desk. Sam’s hand rested gently on Spencer’s back as he leaned in to hear the tape better.
Gideon replayed the track again and again, something nagging at him. Dean turned towards Elle with a roll of his eyes after Gideon turned up the volume yet again. Gideon headed outside, Spencer and Sam following not too far behind. Spencer sits down at the base of a tree, watching Gideon pace around, “What if the Unsub is one of the students leaving?”
“No, he’s not done yet. He’s not going anywhere. Keep thinkin’,” Gideon says.
“You mean out--outside the box? That’s what Morgan is always telling me. He says that’s why I’ll never beat you at chess.”
“He’s probably right.”
Spencer chuckles and smiles before looking up at Sam, who was running his fingers through his hair, “Do you want to go get a coffee? You look like you could use one.” At Sam’s offended look, Spencer amended, “Not that you look bad, you look really good-- I mean you look fine.” Spencer blushed. Sam’s mouth quirked up for a second as he nodded. Sam offered a hand out to Spencer, who happily took it, and pulled him up. Spencer stumbled over a root and ended up crashing into Sam. Sam laughed whole-heartedly as he steadied the doctor. They set off, going towards one of the coffee shops right next to campus.
“So, this Morgan guy, he’s always telling you to think outside the box? How do you apply that to a case?”
“In this situation, what exactly is the box?”
“Wouldn’t it be the standard profile of a serial arsonist? If everything you know is already in the box, what’s left?”
“What you don’t know. The unknown.”
They approached the coffee shop, heavily decorated with photos of the sports teams from the college across the street. Sam pats his pockets for a moment before groaning, drawing the attention of the profiler next to him. “I forgot my wallet in my car earlier,” Sam explains. Spencer turns, ready to leave, when Sam stops him. “You can still get your coffee, I can tell you really want one right now. Go order and I’ll get us a table.” Spencer smiles at that and waits.
After receiving his concernedly cheap coffee, Spencer makes his way over to the table where Sam sits. Sam had taken off his jacket at some point and rolled up his sleeves, drawing Spencer’s gaze to the muscles there. His eyes flick up to Sam’s. Sam smiles gently as he analyzes Spencer’s eyes.
“You don’t mind sharing with me, right?” Sam says, glancing down from Spencer’s eyes to the warm coffee cup in his hands. Spencer shakes his head and holds the cup out to Sam. Sam takes a quick sip from the cup and thrusts it back towards the other brunet. “How much sugar did you put in this?”
Spencer chokes out a laugh. They sit in an amicable silence, broken only by the conversations of the people around them. Spencer’s knees bump into Sam’s under the table. Sadly, the coffee has run out and they have a serial arsonist to capture. Sam grabs his jacket and tosses it back on. Spencer can’t help the flood of disappointment in him as the strong arms of the man across from him disappear under the fabric.
They walk towards the campus once more and catch up with Morgan in their meeting area. Morgan finishes his phone call with Garcia and turns towards the two young men walking through the door, “Hey Reid, Garcia says it’s not ‘Karen’. It’s something more like-”
“Charown!” Gideon interrupts, speeding through the open doorway.
“Charown?” Spencer questions.
“Charown. I do it because of Charown.”
“It’s Hebrew.”
“Isn’t that god’s burning anger?” Sam interjects.
Dean, Elle, and Hotch enter the room to join the rest of the BAU. Elle and Hotch move towards where Gideon is. Dean hangs back near the other end of the room.
“The motive is now religious?” Elle asks.
“Well, you know, in a lot of religions God is related to fire.” Spencer spouts off.
Sam moves towards Dean, who gives him the look that says “what the hell are we still doing here”. Sam cuts a look towards Spencer and another to Hotch. They both turn towards the BAU members as voices rise higher and arguments start. Spencer turns away from them, seemingly overstimulated by the argument, before looking directly at Sam.
“Compulsion,” Spencer whispers. He nods to Sam and moves to the computer and video area. Dean gives Sam an odd look, which he shrugs off. He follows Spencer to the computer area, where Spencer sits intensely watching the tapes of the first fire. The screams of the first victim surround them and Sam turns away for a moment before steeling himself. Spencer taps the computer desk in deep thought before rewinding the video. He brings a hand up to his forehead to lean on as he intently watches the video. Sam stands directly behind him, pondering. He gets up from the chair and moves over to the whiteboard, where he erases everything.
“What’re you thinking Spence?” Sam asks, leaning against the desk that Spencer had just been at. He notices Gideon watching through the door and turns back to the computer with he recording on it. Gideon encourages Spencer to think outside the box, then leaves both the men to their thoughts. Spencer rushes over to the laptop again, replaying the same clip of where gasoline pours inside the first victim’s room.
“Three times,” Spencer says. Sam looks at the man next to him and then at the footage. The doorknob to the victim’s dorm turned three times in a row. Spencer quickly gets up and moves to where the professor’s burned office is. Sam follows behind, easily catching up to Spencer with his long strides. Spencer wipes the soot off the professor’s door plate, revealing the number three. Once more he turns and walks hurriedly to the first victim’s dormitory. Sam and Spencer move the caution tape out of the way and enter. Spencer opens the drawers in the victim’s desk, searching for something important. Sam stands back, watching with a mixture of unease and curiosity. He finds the victim’s schedule, “Professor Wallace, Tuesday, three o’clock.” He gestures for Sam to follow him as they head back to the rest of the BAU.
“I know why the profiles never fit,” Spencer states confidently, “You were right to tell Morgan to not rely on precedent. The fires thus far have been completely task oriented.”
“So once they’re set the Unsub is done?” Sam asks. Hotch nods.
“Exactly. The Unsub is not a classical serial arsonist. He’s someone who uses fire because of a completely different disorder!”
“Which is?” Gideon questions.
“An extreme manifestation of OCD, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. He does everything in threes. And if I’m right, he’ll have to kill again. There’s a form of OCD called scrupulosity.”
Sam makes a confused face and turns to Hotch. “Religious obsession and compulsion,” the unit chief explains. Sam nods in understanding.
“So he has an obsessive fear of committing sin?” Sam ponders aloud.
Spencer nods, “It creates so much anxiety that he’s compelled to do something to ease that anxiety.”
Spencer presents all of the evidence he’s found so far and explains all the behavioral evidence connecting the Unsub to a pattern of threes and the fires.
“I think I know who it is. And it’s not a he, it’s a she.” Hotch states before calling the dean of the school.
While the dean sends over Clara Hayes’s file, they go over all the evidence leading them to Clara. “They were working on the three body problem,” Sam remembers.
Dean, Elle, and Morgan head to Clara’s room with a S.W.A.T. unit. They find the walls plastered with papers and the room filled with candles. “OCD? I’m thinking more like OMG,” Morgan says, earning a hearty chuckle out of Dean.
“OMG?” Elle asks.
“Oh, my God,” Dean and Morgan answer.
They read off the fire related biblical quotes on Clara’s walls and gaze at the pictures on her desk.
“Moloch was the demon sun god of the Canaanites. In order to keep from incurring his wrath the people would sacrifice their children to them by burning them alive,” Spencer tells the group in Clara’s room.
Hotch and Gideon give the order to the local officers to run into each building and pull the fire alarms to get the students out. Elle, Dean, and Morgan had found at least 30 homemade bombs in the building. What they didn’t know, however, was that the chemistry students working late at night were stuck in the elevator.
Clara finds the three students in the elevator and sprays them with gasoline, enjoying the sound of their screams. She pulls out a stick and lights it on fire, staring at it for a moment.
“Put it down Clara!” the male student yells.
Hotch attempts to talk her down, but she keeps telling him that they need to be tested or they’ll face God’s wrath. She mutters about Charown, Charon, Moloch, and other religious deities. Dean sprints up the stairs with Gideon, hearing a gunshot. Gideon stomps out the fire starter while Dean and Hotch hold their guns on Clara. She was helped downstairs and taken to medical care. Dean worked with the campus security to help the students out of the elevator.
The BAU had decided to stay the night and fly early in the morning the next day. Sam and Dean drove over to the hotel the agents had been staying at. Morgan walked over to the Impala, striking up a conversation with Dean on the car. Sam headed towards Spencer, walking with purpose to get to the man. “Hey Spencer. I was wondering if I could get your phone number? I’d hate to lose touch with a genius,” Sam smiled as he spoke. Spencer nodded and spouted off his phone number, watching Sam punch it into his contacts.
“I sent you a text so you can put me in your contacts. Don’t be a stranger, okay? It was nice finding someone so easy to work with.”
“I-I’ll see you around Sam.”
“Yeah, I hope so.”
Sam walked over to the Impala and got in, waving goodbye to Spencer as the brothers sped off to whatever case they had next in line.
Spencer watched until they were completely out of view before entering the SUV next to him, grab bag in hand. He had a feeling he’d see Sam again.

(Commentary and thoughts on the problem with certain anti tags and frankly anti tags in general, be warned)
I'm going to be honest, there is nothing that infuriates me more than those who attack a ship, or a character as abusive for the reason of banter, poor writing verging on character assassination or astonishing reasons as one character being created to be a beard for the other.
To give an example, the TimSteph ship has attracted a lot of hate recently because apparently one of the two is abusive towards the other (mostly Steph).
Tumblr media
Now, I'm not against preferring another ship to that one, such as StephCass or TimKon, or feeling that Steph has basically had a lot of her agency taken away recently, reducing her to just Tim's girlfriend and that causing people to distance themselves from the relationship, those are all fair enough reasons to not really like the ship. Even feeling like there is no chemistry is a reason, that I disagree with, but can respect.
What I can't respect are some of the reasons given for hating the ship.
To give an example, one tumblr outright stated that part of the reason (though not all of it) they hated Steph was because she was created by a homophobe (Chuck Dixon who IS conservative at the very least) to serve as beard for Tim.
Ignoring for a second that Tim is explicity sexually attracted to women (though considering the run that made that clearest was FabNic's version of Red Robin, I can understand not knowing about it), Steph was originally created to be a one-off character, it was fan popularity that caused her to return AND become a love interest for Tim. Even ignoring that, Tim was dating another girl named Arriana, which didn't work out for various reasons, the least of which was his constant absences to perform his duties as Robin.
Speaking of FabNic, it was his run as writer for Robin that is most often brought up when giving reasons to hate Steph and call her abusive. A run that was basically a rush job, when Dixon left DC again for unrelated reasons, where FabNic proceeded to write Steph hire Scarab of all people to fight Tim non-lethally after promising Batman to make him better. I'm going to be honest, I hated the idea of this to begin with, but someone pointed out how stupidly out of character Steph hiring Scarab was given that A) she would definitely not have the contacts to pull it off, and B) Scarab was the entire reason Steph got fired as Robin, resulting in a lot of trauma for her and I have to agree.
Combined with Steph being portrayed as unusually incompetent and her motivations being glossed over and it really reads like either A) FabNic had a vendetta against her character, meaning her character was hurt again almost immediately after being finally getting a break and having her incredibly spiteful death retconned or B) he was in such a rush due to being brought in to write the final arc of Robin in a hurry when Dixon left, that he didn't think his ideas through, and just wanted to get rid of Tim's supporting cast quickly and finish things up for the next writer to have a clean slate, causing him to write that mess of an arc.
To anyone unfamiliar with FabNic's work, the exact same thing happened in Red Robin when the Nu52 was about to happen, so he ended up butchering an entire arc he had planned, Tim's character suffering from an abrupt shift in coldness again when he was getting better and left the series on a frankly unsatisfying cliffhanger. So, I can completely see that as being what happened.
Now as for those who say that Steph's banter with Tim is cruel and abusive. This is something he canonically said very shortly before their relationship started.
Tumblr media
So Tim definitely gave as good as he got.
Though this is nothing to what he once said to his first girlfriend, Arianna.
Tumblr media
Not that I believe for a second Tim is actually sexist, but his banter can be unusually and unintentionally aggressive at times.
Now I'm not going to say a word about most of Yost's Red Robin run, but what helps is that Tim is not being portrayed as being in the right with many of his actions and gets called out as such, plus he was written pretty clearly to be in a mentally bad place.
Otherwise I and probably a lot of Tim's fans, hate the Batman jr. Character arc every writer (but Dixon ironically) seemed to have fixated on him having, making him become positively humourless for quite a while (especially in Teen Titans, but to be honest there are many fans of the YJ team who hated that run.) Which basically started with Steph and his dad's deaths by the way.
I'm not going to deny Tim and Steph had their fair share of drama before War Games, most notably the power imbalance caused by Tim knowing Steph's name, but being unable (yes, unable) to give her his. Tim had a reason for not telling Steph, Bruce making him promise not to, and he kept that promise even with the YJ team, and even made it clear that Steph couldn't know if they entered a relationship. That's all fair enough, even if Tim had a nasty habit of reminding Steph he knew her name while they were out in the open, putting her identity at risk and knew she hated it.
The stalking was caused when Tim implied he personally knew a girl they rescued, causing Steph to realise just how unbalanced their relationship was, since Tim could be cheating on her without her knowing due to the double life (and had in fact done so to his previous girlfriend Arianna, with Steph).
Which lets be honest, is also completely understandable as their relationship couldn't work long-term without it being equal knowledgewise.
Think about it, you're in a relationship with someone who refuses to tell you his real name, you may be able to recognise him without his mask on, but have no idea he goes to the same school as you since he makes sure to avoid you while simultaneously keeping an eye on you.
Tim himself realised this, since when Batman leaked his secret without his permission, he eventually made it clear he didn't blame Steph and that he should have been open with her when it began to trouble her.
As for Steph coming on to him when he had a girlfriend and wasn't interested, well this is what caused her to crush on him...
Tumblr media
He had just been traumatised by being trapped underground with Cluemaster (brrr.) So kissing her in relief when he had a girlfriend was understandable, but it's also understandable that Steph thought he was interested in her especially since he never mentioned a girlfriend.
Amd Tim clearly cared for her in some way regardless judging from this page when Steph was kidnapped a few issues later.
Tumblr media
As for Steph only being in love with Robin... the problem is that Steph made it clear once that she didn't care if Tim quit and she'd love him all the same.
Tumblr media
So, no, I don't think Tim and Steph was an abusive ship, it might not be your cup of tea, but it's certainly not abusive, especially when written by a writer who isn't being rushed or got a lot on his plate.
As a side-note, it's worth noting that due to how the Tumblr Search Engine works, people not looking for Anti Tags, and instead quite the opposite, still end up finding them on occassion, so yes, they have a right to be annoyed and complain in private conversations.
I'm sorry if this devolved into a rant, but many anti threads have a nasty habit of focusing only on the bad, even when that bad isn't consistent characterisation. Whether we like the Character or not, we need to remember that having so many writers means that the Character will be screwed up occasionally. How many times has Batman learn not to be a jerk only to return to be a jerk almost immediately? How many times has Green Arrow gotten his act together only for another writer to have him return to cheating on Black Canary again?
We have to concede that any character can be screwed up by the wrong writer and we shouldn't hold that against them, especially when the stuff we don't like doesn't consistently happen.

Combining 4x12 and 4x13 The Sword in the Stone pts 1 and 2 into one post, no commentary tracks on either episode, unfortunately.
4x12 The Sword in the Stone pt 1
I really don't mean to question any of this homoerotic comedy gold, but why has Arthur got his chainmail on before his pants? Surely chainmail is a post-trouser application?
"No one likes to be called fat, Merlin"
Arthur sitting there moping over Gwen is the biggest self own. "I look for her in the room, and she's not there. Then I remember why." Yea cuz you threw her out you DUMBASS. Sick of TV trying to make me feel sympathy for dudes who played themselves.
Can you hear the music when you see this
Tumblr media
Such a great shot. AND a great piece of music too.
Dear reader, you're probably expecting me to make a shit ton of hypnosis jokes, and you know, you're not wrong, but first - there is something pressing that needs to be addressed:
Tumblr media
Behold, the most awkward handshake of all time. Eoin is literally going for his bicep instead of his forearm, what even is that?!? And poor Percival, he's got one injured dumbass hanging off him on one arm, and another dumbass trying to shake his other hand like he's never seen an arm before. It looks like he's reaching up into his armpit because of the angle 😂😂 I'm cackling watching this gif loop.
Same energy:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(Gif credit not found)
THIS is why Elyan/Percival is the superior side ship:
Tumblr media
Look at that sweet sweet chemistry. I almost always see Percival paired with Leon or Gwaine in fic and I just... how on earth can you pass this up? These two are perfect together. That LOOK Elyan gives him and Percival's giddy face as he looks over at Merlin and Arthur 😍😍😍 it looks better in the video than I can reproduce in gif
Christ, he DOES play the bimbofication well, doesn't he? "Whatever you say I'm entirely in your hands." I feel like at the time that was the line that spawned a million fanfics.
Morgana that is a magic snake, not a pen
Agravaine is so fuckin creepy. I mean I'm glad it took this long for him to go full blown creepazoid but we ALL saw it coming. Even tho he's NOT her uncle it's still gross, he's twice her age and disgusting.
How many brothers did Ygraine have anyway? Tristan I guess we'll never know but why would Agravaine really want his sister's SON dead? Fuckin royals.
Is Arthur listening for woodworm?
Why is Tristan twice Isolde's age
I miss Simpleton Arthur, but at least King Arthur looks good fighting in those tight capris
Arthur's all moody about Agravaine betraying him and Merlin is so supportive. If I were Merlin I would've been dropping "I told you so's" left and right.
What I don't get, is if Merlin knew Gwen has been in Ealdor, why has he never told Arthur this?
Gotta figure the people of Ealdor are not gonna be too happy about their village coming under attack cuz King Arthur is hiding out there. He's not even their king 😂
4x13 The Sword in the Stone part two
It's weird to have what feels like a ending moment ten minutes in
Tristan is such a dick
Won't eating moldy bread just make Gaius sicker
Hey um... how did Arthur get his clothes back? Did he keep a spare set in Ealdor? You know, for all those times he visits Hunith with Merlin? What's that you say, I'm getting fanon confused with canon again? Am I though?
Actual scene from when Merlin was telling Arthur the Bruta coda:
Tumblr media
Omgggg the way he looks at Merlin's mouthhhhhhhhh before he goes to try and pull the sword from the stone
This is probably the second most iconic scene in the series, after the round table scene
Tumblr media
and yes, I realize I'm going to hell for this but I can't be the only pervert watching this and thinking about how incredibly ... phallic it is.
There's a whole other level of subtext to this. Not just the phallic imagery but Merlin literally leading a doubtful Arthur to this ... performance space in front of a crowd, where Merlin is in full control of what's about to happen - and he guides Arthur through the motions, encouraging and confidence boosting, until Arthur becomes the truest version of his self. I say Merlin is in control but that's not even entirely accurate, he's only in control of releasing the sword from the stone, but that in and of itself is of no consequence; the power in this scene lies with Arthur, in his faith in himself - which is what Merlin is really helping him reclaim; the sword is just metaphor.
But am I supposed to believe that this subtext isn't intentional? Especially immediately after Merlin had Arthur in a trance-like state where he became more pliant and willing to be led?
My god if I were involved in this fandom when this was airing this episode would've made me lose my MIND.
Daaaamn Leon coming on a bit strong there but okay.
Nice to know that Morgana Pendragon, last priestess of the Old Religion, powerful Socereress and current ruler of Camelot, freezes and whimpers in terror at the first glimpse of an unexpected octogenarian in her castle.
I never watched any cast interviews beyond the SDCC panel that was in the S3 extras but I really want to know where that little laugh Old Man Merlin does came from. That little 'heh' is just the greatest thing ever, I'm dying to know if he based that on anyone or anything in particular.
Hey remember in S2 when Morgana got a whole bunch of hairbrushes for her birthday? Bet she wishes she knew where those had got to now.
This brief moment between Gwen and Arthur is actually perfect. Arthur has for so long gone been brooding about how he loves her but he's angry, even though we, the audience, know he has no business blaming her, none of the fucking characters do, including Gwen. But Gwen has also been through a lot, and he's given her zero benefit of doubt the whole time. So watching her march up to him and angrily tell him that she still loves him, then walking away without letting him speak - him, the king, her, leaving the 'tho God knows why since you behave like such an ass' unsaid at the end. It's really a beautiful, perfect moment.
Arthur: what happened to you, Morgana?
Morgana:
Tumblr media
We love a mirror corridor fight scene
Percival and Elyan tho 😍😍
"Hold me"
No parallels there, nope, not at all.
Arthur: will you marry me?
The castle staff: christ, not again
Merlin's got himself a new coat for the occasion and everything!
Why is it that Merlin never checked on Aithusa? Never even asked Kilgharrah about her? You'd think he would've felt some kind of obligation, as the last Dragonlord, towards her. Yes I'm going with 'her' don't @ me it's hc.
As per usual, if there's anything worth commenting on in the special features for S4 I will create a separate post.

Hey if you have the time, what are some of your current fav ships and what are your fav things about them (their dynamic or a scene in canon or whatever) and some headcanons? I know this is might take some time to answer and I'm not sure you want to, but if you do thanks a lot. Im just curious. And yeah, just have a great day (:
Thank you for asking. I am allways happy to make extra long posts ;)
I had a hard time deciding how to start that post but decided to go with:
Cherik - X men
Tumblr media
There are multiple reasons why this ship means the world to me and will be allways close to my heart.
First, at all I grew up with the xmen movies. Cuddled up with my best friend, in her bed, watching the old x men movies (xm1 to 3) until 2 o’clock in the night. It is a feeling like coming home. And the underlying queer theme allways attracted me.
Second: I am a sucker for the enemies to lover trope. It is this amazing thing that no matter how much they “hate” each other, or how long they have not seen eachother, or how deeply they hurted eachother if one one of them is in danger the other one will allways run and save the other one. This is love imo
Also they are as canon as they could be in Hollywood. My headcanon for young!Cherik is similar to the one Michael Fassbender has for them. They are married, doing a fishing trip around the whole world, to come back at the end to Genosha raising, teaching and carrying for a new generation of mutant kids.
For old Cherik: They are happily living together in the school, due to the utopia Wolverine created in Days of future past. Magneto is probably teaching the kids mechanics
And there are allready rumors that Marvel wants to recast them. If they will touch our happy Cherik ending with their rotten hands i will riot!
Stormpilot - Star Wars
Tumblr media
Yeah i still use that name. Because i am on this boat since the beginning. It is a little bit damaged but still sailing so this is my happy ship.
I was never a big Star Wars fan but these two dudes made me fall in love with Star Wats because even before i realized i was queer i knew this ship was special and make history, in one way or another. And we did, didn’t we? We are now taken seriously. Shipping is not a “ugly” fangirl thing anymore but people start to realize taht it is also a scream for representation. But we still have to go a long way
I love that this kind of a “love at the first sight” thing (at least for Poe). And that they have an instead chemistry with eachother. I was sitting in TROS and smiling like an idiot everytime they were on screen and cried buckets when they were both single and together in the end. They treat eschother well and have a deep respect for eachother. There is no macho behavior just pure friendship with a lot of gay tension. Every scene with them in TROS was a blast. And i am sure Finn is now slowly realizing he is love with Poe as well. Poe gives Finn his ring. Finn finds out he is a long lost prince and learns jedi tricks. And then they marry. And adopt a lot of droids children!
They are my hope. And they will be my first tattoo.
Phrack (Phryne x Jack) - MFMM
Tumblr media
One of the few straight ships i actively ship. They are so damn well written. There is nothing toxic about their relationship. And the slow burn tension is killing you slowly. How they care for eachother without Jack being Phrynes savior. And how Phyrne allways gets calm perfect Jack irritated is so cute.
Also the moments where Phyrne is teasing Jack or Jack calls Phryne “Phryne” instead of “Miss Fisher” like he normally does.  And that Jack is ready to learn how to accept gay people and working independent women through Phryne is beautiful.
No headcanons here. I just want to watch the upcoming movie “Miss Fisher and the crypt of tears” that explains what happenes directly after the season 3 finale.
Give! Me! That! Movie! Now!
Keyla x Joann - Star Trek Discovery
Tumblr media
There is not too much to say about them. I just hope they will be canon. They didn’t had much screentime yet but everytime they are together it feels like they are dating since years. And Keyla is confirmed bisexual. I hope we will see them together in season 3. If not i will just keep on pretending that they got married at the end, adopted a lot of space kitten and live their best lives as speca wIw.
Also the are holding hands in that scene above, fight me!
Michael x Tilly - Star Trek Discovery
Tumblr media
Nothing better then space wIw pairings.
I like how they deeply care for eachother and Tilly was ready to accept Michael even though she was an outcast. And Michael was ready to accept Tilly even though she normally can not deal with talkactive people.
Tilly helped Michael a lot to express her feelings  while Michael helped Tilly to fight for her dream as a Captain.
Also they canonly hold hands multiple times. They are so soft around eachother. I am so ready for season 3.
Sherlock x Joan x Marcus - Elementary
Tumblr media
I actually ship them in every variation (because above all Johnlock) but here i make an expactation. The deep care they have for eachother. They had a few problems at the start but if someone feels bad now, both are ready to help that person. Joan is constantly checking on Marcus personal live, and lives with Sherlock anyway, while Sherlock constantly looks out for Joan and Marcus and looks that they find happines. And Marcus has thought multiple times about moving in with Sherlock and Joan.
While Sherlock doesn’t really liked to be touched both Joan and Marcus have iconic hug scenes with Sherlock. And after Joan and Sherlock find out that Marcus will move to a new job they both do everything they can so Marcus will be successful, The epsiode ends with Sherlock looking at Marcus for a really long time, smiling like a love sick dork, while he lefts with  “ It’s alright, it’s alright, it’s alright now, I’m fine with how it all went down “ playing the background.
I haven’t watched season 7 yet but with Marcus risking his career for both Joan and Sherlock i hope he will finally moves in with them.
Honorable mentions to my fav ships forever:
Nomanita - Sense8
Tumblr media
The lesbian crime fighting duo every show deserve. They only know pure love and support for eachother.
And i send a flip flop to netflix to see them getting married. Yeah i am that extra sometimes
Johnlock - EVERY univserse
Tumblr media
Just because!
And the “i just discovered it”-ship:
Geralt x Jaskier - The witcher
Tumblr media
They are so dumb. It is amazing. I hope Jaskier finds a nice boyfriend in the next seasons. Or gets to kiss Geralt. Because he definitly wants to
I hope this list satisfied you. I am allways happy to make more.
Have a great day as well

steve rogers & natasha romanoff?
just did natasha :D
but for steve...
favorite thing about them
his dedication to his ideals, especially under pressure. i wish that i could be so steadfast in what i believe in. even as a 90 pound asthmatic, he was unflinching in his determination to do what was right. and it wasn't in your traditional, masculine, power-trip way, nor did it become that after the serum. he stayed soft and kind and willing to physically fight but preferring to handle things nonviolently. he's about as close to perfect as someone can get without getting unrealistic.
least favorite thing about them
his ending. while, logically, i can understand that chris evans wanted out and steve had to be written out in a way that felt like an actual ending (ie. depowering him or just having him retire and disappear would be super unsatisfying) it still just...feels wrong. even putting aside the fact that it breaks the time travel rules set in place, it feels so out of character for steve to live a quiet, married life, knowing that hydra is infiltrating shield, that bucky is actively being tortured, that countless horrible world events that he could prevent are going to happen...i think that if they had said in interviews that when he went back to peggy, it created a branched timeline in which he prevented all of those things, allowing for a lot of nice, canon, fluffy/domestic things intermingled with adventure and espionage, plus a new, better timeline that could bring interesting new characters into the main universe (steve and peggy's kids/grandkids? rikki barnes? anyone???) while leaving our peggy's canon life with sousa alone, then i could accept that he left bucky and sam. it would still be kind of a dick move, but it could be implied that the existence of a universe where he was never the winter soldier could be comforting for bucky, and then sam could be rightfully bothered that he wasn't let in on any of it, and we'd get development for all three of them through that conflict. but instead, they repeatedly have said that he just...does nothing. and that is not steve rogers.
favorite line
"i don't want to kill anyone. i don't like bullies. i don't care where they're from."
i went back and revisited some of the first movie for its 10th anniversary today, and that line just...so perfectly sums up what i love about steve. no wonder erskine heard that and chose him, honestly.
brOTP
honestly, it's a tie between steve/bucky, steve/sam, and steve/natasha, so just...the cap quartet, honestly. i used to be really into stucky as a ship, but ever since tfatws, i actually really like them as best friends/brothers, with nothing romantic about it. and the four of them as friends just has such potential and the bits we have in canon are all lovely. steve has the best friendships in the mcu, tbh
OTP
maybe this is an unpopular opinion, but i actually really like him with peggy, just...not the way it went in canon. but they really do fit well together and have fantastic chemistry. do i prefer her with sousa? possibly. but in an alternate universe? steve/peggy is completely lovely
nOTP
i feel like this is becoming a running theme, but...stony. maybe i just really hate tony stark, but like...i'm good with people who aren't team cap being shipped with him. but especially after the fight in siberia, any romance between either steve or bucky with tony just...really makes me uncomfy

captain america: the first avenger is the best marvel origin movie and just as good as the rest of the cap trilogy (for a long time, i liked it better than ca:tws). it was overshadowed when it came out because audiences still expected superhero movies to be more action-based, but in terms of quiet moments and really exploring steve as a character, it was way ahead of its time

as i said earlier, it is an ungodly length but i hope you can enjoy my late night, book-drunk opinions anyway!

guess who just finished “ruin and rising”?
i’m seriously not okay. someone send help. i got lots of thoughts, none of which you are obligated to read but this seems like the best place to share.
oh and spoilers, duh.
for starters. woah.
i can’t say it was what i expected but i had known that what my heart really wanted was kinda far out of reach. the ending felt real and feasible, complete with love and loss.
in terms of “ruin and rising” alone, i think it was possibly the strongest of the three books. the pacing was good, nothing felt like it dragged on too long or went too fast for its own good. i think that was really important as well, considering the fact that there was always something going on. literally,, always. no one ever got a damn break.
mal’s “death” hurt me more then i had expected. which honestly leads back to one of my main gripes with this story. the love square (which i elaborate on later in this post, just hold on a bit). i’m not going to lie. i hated mal. through the middle of “siege and storm” up to page 168 of “ruin and rising” (and even then it was a long road from hate to crying over him). he was an ass, i think we can all admit that. for awhile there, i even jumped on the “fuck mal” train and had no plans to stop at any station anytime soon. for the longest time, the relationship with alina felt so fragile and forced, like the only reason it existed was because leigh had written it into existence. though, as i read on, i saw why it was so strained and saw the eventual resolution, which i will admit i was happy with. mal and alina, however annoying and troupe filled their personalities were, did develop as characters. and their relationship made some semblance of sense in the grand scheme of things. does that mean i forgive the “on-again-off-again”, “cold-shoulder”, “we-cant-be-together-in-this-lifetime” bullshit? no. does that mean i suddenly love mal? also, no. does that mean i ship them? ugh slightly. does that mean in a magical dream world where i got to chose what happened, they’d still end up together? impossible to say. BUT i can say, that they deserved each other. and i am happy that they got their peace together like they both always wanted (no matter how out of place it felt at any point), especially considering the fact that she literally had to kill him.
my dear dear darkling... i knew what fate awaited you and yet, when the time came... it hurt just the same.
okay,, that was a bit dramatic. but come on. leigh wrote a damn good villain with aleksander morozova. i meAN, thE lAYERS. he was a horrible person and yet, so many of us still love him. he killed for fun, manipulated no matter the cost, preyed upon the weak because he could, literally blinded his own mother and still! i can’t help but love him. there was so much human woven into his darkness. the moments of simple longing, of exhaustion, of loneliness. in all honesty, if there had been a way to humanize him, to erase or explain away his atrocities and have him just be aleksander again, i feel like i would do it. but, in the context of the story i do understand why it wasn’t possible. redemption for the darkling was off the table, no matter how much humanity still remained. but that’s what makes him such a good character. you want him to be different because you can see the good and all the potential for things to change, for them to rule ravka side by side, but at the same time, he’s the same man who is still actively creating more shadow demon creatures to eat whoever he wishes. you can’t resist him and that’s why he’s so wonderful, yet horrifying at the exact same time. (though don’t worry i am still a trash can and the darklina ship is still superior in the love square. again, i promise i will get there).
i feel like i have to talk about how much i loved the “secondary characters” (i struggle to call them that because they actually run this shit). i will say, at first, i hated zoya. i am not a big fan of the “mean girl” troupe or the “i’m-prettier-than-you-and-i-know-it” thing but... she really grew on me. i looked forward to zoyas comments and constant bitchiness, as did the characters in the books. and when she left the note and the blue kefta with alina in the epilogue,, oh god my heart. and the ragtag crew of grisha making up the remainder of the second army were amazing. their banter and dialogue were some of my favorite scenes to read in “ruin and rising” and i want books just filled with them and only them. david and genya deserve the damn world, adrik was so great, nadia and tamar are so precious, and i will miss harshaw’s weird ass more then you’ll ever know. don’t even get me started on misha and oncat. they are the true stars of this series, you cannot convince me otherwise. god i love them all so much, what a brilliant cast of characters. except the apparat. fuck the stupid ass apparat.
i know what you’re thinking. “you forgot nikolai.” no. i promise you, i most certainly did not. i just love him so much he gets his own chunk.
i mean, how could he not? he’s one of those rare, genuinely perfect characters that are impossible to not love. and i don’t mean perfect because he has no flaws or he’s written unnaturally, i mean perfect because of all of his flaws. he is arrogant and calculating, brash and unapologetic in his ways, but he’s also kind and caring, witty and charming and way too clever for his own good. i rooted for him more then i have ever rooted for someone in my entire life. he made everything ten times better. you can always count on his ass to pop up in a flying ship with a shiny pair of boots, a witty remark, a new plan, and too many ideas.
now, the important business... the ominous love square.
i think the words i used were “one of my main gripes with the story” which is true, but i think leads to a bigger issue with some of the characterization in the story. the “love square” was a term i thought of in relation to the many overlapping and confusing ships that center around alina (obviously being mal, the darkling, and nikolai). all of the ships were so entertwined and written over top of one another that there was no other way for me to describe it and the square seemed like a nice enough analogy. it just felt like way too much on everybody’s plates.
i love nikolai and alinas friendship. i mean, LOVED it. because i loved it so much, i found the little nods to a ship odd and unnecessary. their story line was very focused on the fact that ravka would need a king and queen, hence the scene where he gives her the emerald and all but proposes right then and there. however, that scene would have made scene and carried the same weight had there not been the splashes of romance both before and after. now, i understand why people ship them. and honestly, if under different circumstances, i probably could’ve and would’ve shipped them myself. they would have had one of the best marriages in a society where you didn’t get to marry for love. but it just made everything more complicated. people would’ve speculated on a ship had there been no kisses or pining, soley based on the possibility of a marriage and because of their close friendship so, why was the canon addition of it necessary? i just couldn’t get behind it when i loved their platonic relationship so much and when there were two stronger and more developed ships, waging war in the background.
now, my final bone to be picked... let’s be real for a second, alina in “shadow and bone” sucked. she was annoying and had no personality beyond being a sad, lonely, orphan in the darklings sparkly new grisha world. though i will say, in the later two books, i grew to like her. her character development did its job and i actually think she grew to be a pretty good protagonist. she did her best with the cards she was dealt and i think she did really well. however, her inability to pick a boy constantly bothered me. after being in love with her best friend for literal years, she is really ready to be be the first lady of the second army. and yes. sure you could justify it. she wasn’t getting letters in return, she’d been away for months, she was adapting to her new life, the darkling made her feel seen and wanted which is all a very new feeling to her. but then she goes right back to mal after he makes a confession that he didn’t realize he loved or needed her until she was gone for months (this was one of my biggest problems with mal. my problem only grew when he spent the entirety of “siege and storm” being a dick. but like i said,, we have reconcilied. we are fine now). there were times throughout the series where i genuinely didn’t understand why they were together, why i liked them together, or why i even wanted them to end the series together. alina even asks mal at the end of “ruin and rising” if there entire relationship was based solely on the fact that mal was the last amplifier and the fact that she even had to ask really says something. was their entire romance because of the amplifier? was it because of the “we-are-just-meant-to-be-together” thing? or was there actual chemistry? i really couldn’t tell sometimes. and the darklina ship was even more twisty and winding. he went from telling her deep dark secrets because he wanted to hear the girl he loved say his name to literally threatening everyone she loves because he wants her weak and all to himself. like,, whAt? (again,, layers) and don’t even get me started on the darkling and alina apparition interactions. those were a wild fucking ride. i felt like i was getting manipulated along with the both of them in those. but maybe that was the point of the darkling and alinas relationship. it was supposed to be so horrible yet so electric that you couldn’t pull away. but i doubt the same was meant to be said for mal and alina.
now i feel like i may be coming off in the wrong way. i loved more about this series then i didn’t. but me gushing about every fine detail and conversation that made my heart melt wouldn’t make for the most interesting read, if it was even coherent. all in all, i think it’s safe to say the grisha trilogy is great. does that mean it doesn’t have flaws? of course not. does that mean the flaws outweigh the good and the actual point of the story? absolutely not. my small complaints about a few things really do not take always from the fact that i love this series. i would love anything written by leigh bardugo, especially in the grishaverse.
if you’ve made it this far, that’s commitment. thank you brave soldier. don’t take anything i’ve said with anything more than a grain of salt. seriously. if this is your favorite series, don’t let my lil complaints ruin your day. because really, the good outweighs the bad here tenfold. i’m just a girl with a lot of opinions and a platform to share them at four am... it’s a dangerous game.
but, goodbye grisha trilogy. you have served me well and i will return to reread you soon. but for now i will do a lot of writing (i already have so many fic ideas brewing) and read all the fan fiction and tumblr posts i’ve been avoiding for fear of spoilers.

One-sided Love vs Requited Love on TV: Loving someone makes you deserving of their love and other lies we tell ourselves
I've been thinking about cartoons such as Star vs the Forces of Evil and Miraculous Ladybug recently, particularly about the reception the endgame ships get, about them being "toxic" and how them being with other people is "healthier."
Now, full disclosure, you can hate canon ships because the dynamics are not something you like, or because they're too straight, or simply because you don't like romance at all. But it is interesting to me how when you hate ships now you have to say it is because they're unhealthy compared to the ships you like or compare to a just friends scenario. And how many things that are blunders leading up to character development story-telling wise are seen as unforgivable and a show of how these characters cannot progress, cannot become better people and how, therefore, they shouldn't get together. This is particularly true in the fandoms for cartoons geared towards children and tweens when we get introduced to love triangles. Or, rather, when the protagonists briefly date another person before the endgame ships are revealed.
When I was a kid, and really even now, it is understood that in cartoons when two characters date way before the show is about to end is because they are not going to end up together. I think of the cartoons I liked as a child and how true this rule is. Kim Possible, Danny Phantom, Hey Arnold, and probably more that I don't recall right now, all have the protagonist dating or at least liking someone before the last seasons or the last movie of the show. They don't end up with any of these people. Instead, said relationships not working out show us why the endgame ships are the ones that work out in the end. Because they were too shallow or the characters didn't have anything in common. Or the things that they didn't have in common, particularly values or their identities, created a great divide in the relationships, one from which they couldn't come back from. Kim and Josh Mankey, for example, just liked each other, but it was a crush more than anything. It couldn't work out for them because they barely knew each other. And in the movie So The Drama we see that Kim wanted a relationship with a perfect guy, with all the chemistry and romance a teen would expect from a first relationship. She didn't want a particular guy at the beginning, just one that matched her idea of romance, and the movie illustrates what, exactly, was wrong with that. In Hey Arnold, Arnold is shown to be in love with different girls who tend to all be very pretty and feminine. But Arnold isn't particularly attracted to their personality. What he is in love with is the way they look. They are just crushes and not true love. Even when he gets the chance to date Lila, he is bored with her clinginess, and it is only when she breaks up with her that he is attracted to her. It shows us that a lot of times Arnold likes the idea of girls more than the girls themselves, and that she falls in love with the girls he can't get: Lila, who has already rejected him; Ruth, a 6th grader who would never even give him the time of day much less go out with him; a pretty girl on the beach who was only using him; and even his own teacher, much much older than he is! We know none of these relationships will work out, because the lesson here is that Arnold, who always sees the good in people, needs to fall in love with a girl for who she is and not because of the way she looks, and in this case the girl in question is Helga, who is seen as ugly by her peers, and, though she hides it, she's actually very kind and artistic. My final example comes from Danny Phantom, in which Danny has a very one-sided crush for Paulina, the most popular girl at school. Like Arnold's crushes, his crush for Paulina is very shallow. He needs to learn to see more about a girl than her looks. And he does with Valerie. However, there is a little problem, Valerie is a ghost hunter who hates his alter-ego, and for this reason, a relationship between the two is impossible. Even when she doesn't know about his true identity, Valerie decides not to date Danny to focus on ghost hunting. And this is framed as a problem that cannot be resolved. Danny is a ghost who is lying to Valerie about his identity and Valerie wants to keep ghost hunting because her own grudge is more important at that moment than the possibility of a relationship.
But let's notice something. In these cartoons either the crushes are too shallow to be meaningful or, when the protagonists actually date someone, as in they go out in dates even if they aren't steady, the feelings are always mutual. Perhaps not as strong as with the endgame couples, but mutual.
This isn't a trend in cartoons like SvtFoE and MLB. Sure, the protagonists due like the other characters they date. The problem is that for the other characters this isn't just a crush or, you know, a like-like feeling. They are perceived as being in love with the main characters. And this leads us to two issues: 1) eventually these other characters will feel used and hurt by the protagonists, and 2) the fans will react accordingly and champion these side-characters and how they are better for the protagonists as they are very in love with them, which is either unclear or, for the moment, untrue of the other main characters who will end up with the protagonists. The fact that these side-characters are so in love makes several fans insist the relationship is healthier, already canon, and that the "endgame" couples are distracting and ruining the show.
However, there is one problem that we are not seeing here. And that is how the protagonists feel. Or, rather, that in both these shows we have these ships which are essentially rebounds from the protagonists' side of things, which actually, and with no doubt, makes them unhealthy. Because even though these side characters are in love, their love is not reciprocated to the same extent and are, in fact, being lied to or they are fooling themselves into believing their love is mutual. And the fans see things the same way as the side characters. Both groups believe that the side characters' strong feelings of love are enough to make the protagonist fall in love, not realizing what a rebound even means and not considering what it means. And it is even more interesting when we consider the ages of the fans. They're teenagers who maybe don't have a lot of experience in the love department, which is completely normal, of course, but this doesn't give them the experience to determine how harmful rebounds are.
A rebound is when a person who has been scorned by another person, either by a breakup or a rejection, decides to either flirt, kiss, date, have sex or, in extreme versions of this, formally date another person to get over the person they were originally interested in. It is even seen as a common solution to a breakup or a rejection. "Oh, John didn't want to go out on a date with you? Go flirt with Jason at the party. He seems interested." "Oh Marissa broke up with you to date the hottest person at school? Maybe kissing Jessica, who is hotter than Marissa and also very available, will make you feel better?" That's why you see adults in movies going to bars or speed-dating after their relationships fail. Flirting or engaging with someone in a romantic setting makes you feel wanted. Desirable. But these are not grounds to have a relationship with someone. In fact, it is a very awful thing to do to someone who genuinely likes you. If someone flirts with you or kisses you not expecting a relationship, or knowing full well they're the rebound, hey, it could work. But that's very different to dating someone who is in love with you. That's using them, whether a person realizes it or not. You cannot make yourself fall in love with someone out of sheer will, particularly if you're still in love with someone else. You need to be in a position in which you're ready to fall in love. You need to be on a healthy mindset.
Neither SvtFoE nor MLB have their main characters be in the position of genuinely falling in love with these side characters when they haven't given the main characters time to get over their crushes or accept that they need to get over them, nor do they are at a point in their lives in which they can sustainably have a relationship while they have problems left and right. Being in a relationship with other people is simply not how they will resolve their own personal issues. In fact, distracting themselves by being in a relationship, by feeling wanted by someone, is not unhealthy. And neither is being in a relationship with someone who is not emotionally available. These are hard lessons that we all need to learn at one point, either by personal experience or by seeing someone we love go through this. But I feel that the shows are contributing to teens and, hell, even the children themselves, thinking that by loving someone enough, you will deserve them and they will fall in love with you. Or, that you can get over someone that you like, by dating someone who is already head over heels for you and forcing yourself to love them back.
That's not how life works and it is very dangerous that teens, who may get into their first relationships, think like this. It is a recipe to get hurt and to hurt others.
As for SvtFoE, I do not believe starco ruined the series and not because I ship them. Forcing starco to not happen ruined the series, as they kept pushing back the endgame couple while making them stay in relationships that weren't going anywhere, because we knew they had to break up eventually. They were only delaying the inevitable in the worst way possible. Tomstar wasn't healthy at all because Star lied to Tom from the get go. She told him, point blank, that she had no feelings for Marco, which we, as the audience, knew it wasn't true. She got back with her ex after feeling rejected by Marco dating Jackie and after missing him when they were apart. She decided to be the perfect princess, and that included dating Tom. And sure, she liked him, but she didn't love him like Tom loved her. Star kept lying to him until the bitter end. After she lied to him about kissing Marco, they should've broken up, but instead the writers decided to let them stay together almost until the end, when we knew they were doomed. And Marco and Kelly are even worse, as they decided to enter a "breakup buddies" relationship that us adults realized it actually meant "rebound buddies" instead. When I heard the phrase, I did have to wonder why they had used that term on a kids' show. Like, didn't the writers realize how bad it sounded? Because in real life, adults enter such relationships and it is always based around sex and very rarely do these relationships become healthy romantic relationships.
As for Miraculous Ladybug, Luka knew from the get-go Marinette liked Adrien. He asked her out knowing this and Marinette accepted once she had given up on Adrien, not because she was over him but because she wanted to be over him. Even if it wasn't her intention, she was using Luka to get over Adrien, which I had hoped the writing would show, but instead we had Marinette being too busy to actually date him properly and others telling Luka her secret was being in love with Adrien. I think it would've ultimately been better if they had actually shown that Luka's feelings were stronger and that Marinette shouldn't use him like that. It was also a shame the plot made them break up right away. If we went through all the trouble to get them together, as misguided as the relationship was, they should've had more development. It is the same with Adrien and Kagami. Kagami knew that Adrien liked someone else. And Adrien decided to give Kagami a shot after deciding to get over Ladybug. Yet again, the plot framed it as if Adrien were too busy to date Kagami, when really, the problem is that his feelings aren't as strong as Kagami's, which is exactly how she took it. Making them split so soon ruined the opportunity to explore how Adrien should also have realized he was hurting Kagami by still having feelings for ladybug and how he isn't ready to date. Now what we are being told is that Marinette and Adrien are too busy to date anyone but each other as Ladybug and Chat Noir, which shouldn't be the lesson. The lesson should be that they need to get over the most famous, shinier parts of each other and then learn to love their imperfections. Only then will they truly see each other and achieve true love.
And that is the lesson in older cartoons with romance in them. That the protagonists fall in love with their endgame completely. Because they know each other as friends first or because they saw the worst in the other as rivals first, and then learned to love their other sides. All of each other. And that is truer than crushes and one-sided love. It is healthier. It is what we need to achieve in real life. Not fall for the way we romanticize the other person, or by having an idea that they are perfect, but by falling in love and accepting all of them. By helping them become better people but not hurting ourselves in the process. It needs to be mutual to be healthy. One-sided love will never give you that. You can't love someone enough for both people, it will only leave you empty.
Us older people in fandoms do need to make a point to share this wisdom with younger views. And writers for shows aimed at children, tweens and teens should really, really, hammer down what a healthy relationship should look like instead of so much drama for views. Build up canon couples instead of throwing reasons why they can't be together yet, which are only excuses. Actually prepare and develop your characters for future relationships, not just throw side characters into the mix to avoid the endgame and raise views.

so i know you’re in general a fan of beaujester, but what’s your view of beauyasha if you don’t mind me asking?
Okay yup tonight is ask-answering night!  And this one got submitted mid-Thursday, which means it’s been on my mind for a while.
The tl;dr here is: I’m definitely not against Beauyasha, I just haven’t felt it very much from what canon’s had the chance to give us so far.  Because I’m me, of course, I have fifteen other things to say about that, of course.
Let’s start with this: for a long time, Beauyasha fell very much in the same category as Fjorjester for me.  It was the obvious ship, the easy ship.  Beau flirted with Yasha right off the bat, they’re the two lesbians of the group, they’re both physical fighters, the other two ladies in the group appear off the bat to be interested in men, so sure, Beauyasha it is.  Just like ‘Jester has an obvious crush on Fjord and he’s awkward about it and Travis and Laura  have excellent chemistry’ is easy.
I kind of hate easy ships?  I have a long-standing dislike for stories that feel like they default into pairings.  A slow burn where the reader/watcher can see the ending coming from miles away is one thing, but I think the number one most important thing for me, in any ship, is the feeling that the people involved in this romance chose this relationship.  That they had other options, and considered those options, and they decided.  This is what they want.  This is the life and the partner they choose.  This is better.
And Ashley was gone so much!  She showed up long enough to be cool and help us take out a contstruct in Hupperdook and then get kidnapped and then leave again.  She showed up long enough to get on a boat and fight a lightning-thing and tell us about her late wife and then go NPC again.  Even as Fjord and Jester were, slowly, starting to hint towards maybe a real something, it was still so hard to find a thread I could really latch on to for Yasha and Beau.  They felt default.  It was very hard for me to read Beau as having an actual, emotions-based crush on Yasha--she flirted, but it was really superficial!  And it faded pretty thoroughly somewhere mid-pirates!  I didn’t buy it as meaning something!
And Beau and Jester were starting to have these moments, when Ashley was gone and Yasha was an NPC and Fjord was over there confused about Jester and leaving their whole ship on “???”.  Beau and Jester were interesting.  There was no reason to think that they were supposed to be maybe a something, but it seemed like there might just possibly be something there anyway.  I liked that a whole lot.  It made Beauyasha feel even more pale by comparison.
The funny thing is?  Right before Ashley left again, right before the Laughing Hand, I started to see the possibility for Beauyasha as an actual thing rather than just a default sure-why-not.  Somewhere between, “I see you.  I see you a lot.” and Ashley’s presence on set, being sentinel babes together, I started to see...
So okay.  The plot of Beau coincidentally instantly crushing on and hitting on the one other lesbian in the party the first day they meet, in the first episode, and then it turns out Yasha’s got a tragic gay backstory but comes to love her back?  I hate that plot.  You know what plot I like?
Beau hits on Yasha from the very beginning, because Beau is like that, because Beau leans into the sex and the offputting forward-ness as a part of intentional abrasiveness, because she thinks Yasha is hot and it’s a way to create distance.  Yasha, who’s messed up in all her own ways, ignores or avoids dealing with it at first, but slowly starts to feel...noticed.  Important.  Special.  And that matters to Yasha, in a way Beau never meant for it to matter.  And now suddenly Yasha’s the one with feelings that Beau never even realized she could in some theoretical world be allowed to have, and Beau has to deal with the possibility of this totally superficial flirting actually meaning something, and fuck, how do I handle that???
That’s a fun story.  That’s a complicated story, with decisions, with people who have to figure out whether they do or do not want to try to be with each other, and also what ‘being with each other’ even looks like.  That’s a story I’m into.
Of course, now we might possibly get that story with an extra helping of Yasha’s major guilt issues, Beau’s actually really very meaningful crush on Jester, and the complication of all of the Jester and Fjord and everybody else confusion piled on top of it.  And if that whole mess does end in Beau/Yasha?  I will be perfectly satisfied, probably, because I know if it ends that way it’ll be because Marisha and Ashley have earned it.  It’ll be a choice.  It’s just not the one I’m seeing and enjoying most right exactly now.

The Assassination of Jaime Lannister*
Tumblr media
Rant contains spoilers of Season 8 Episode 4 of Game of Thrones. Look away if you haven't seen it.
Right. Here we go.
I did not read the series A Song of Ice and Fire (ASOIAF) until Season 5 of Game of Thrones. Fantasy is not my favorite genre. Besides these books by George RR Martin, the only fantasy novel I've read was The Eyes of the Dragon by Stephen King.
I was drawn to the books because of the show. They're not easy to read. Besides being thick enough to actually hurt someone with it, I read them with zero ideas about the conventions of fantasy, the worldling and so on. I was curious and wanted to see. Also, Season 5 took too long. After a weekend where I binged on Seasons 1 to 4, I needed to know about the books.
The wait for Season 5 was reason one. Curiosity the second. The third was I have fallen in love with Jaime Lannister and Brienne of Tarth. Yes. I was in love with them as a pair. They are my favorite characters.
Back then I had no idea what shipping meant, and what fandoms were. But I knew I had to see if the chemistry of Jaime and Brienne in the show, awesomely played by Nikolaj Coster-Waldau and Gwendoline Christie, resulted from casting and adaptation or if the characters' interactions sizzled in the books. In other words, and this is vocabulary I picked up once I began wading deeper into the fandom, I was curious if it was canon.
And it was!
On their own and together, Jaime and Brienne were written with nuanced complexity. Jaime, especially, seemed sketched to cover the entire spectrum of gray and other unknown shades of it. Readers and show-onlys went from wishing this guy Seven Hells for throwing a ten-year-old child from a window to cheering him on as he found himself, often with great reluctance at first, on a path to redemption. Because Jaime, once separated from his family--the continuing disapproval of his father Tywin because he was nothing more than a glorified bodyguard and the quicksand relationship with twin sister Cersei--was finally free to be a man on his own. It did not matter that he was one of the greatest sword fighters, that he was a Lannister and Kingsguard. Robb Stark's army captured him because he was leading the Lannister armies. He lost his hand for thinking being a Lannister gave him protection and privilege. One-handed and probably still fevered, he jumped into the bear pit to rescue Brienne of Tarth. And before that, he saved her from being raped too.
As all that Jaime had been was gradually stripped away to reveal a man who murdered his king to protect the people yet one who loved his sister without guilt, Brienne was there in the picture of him being rendered anew. Honestly, because of Brienne, I swung to Team Jaime. Possibly with pom-poms too.
But after reading the books and seeing some episodes again, I began to wonder if David Benioff and D.B. Weiss hated the character.
While in the books Jaime said, "The things we do for love" WITH LOATHING, in the show he said the line with a smirk, that throwing a boy out the window was the natural consequence of protecting his affair with Cersei. Maybe Show!Jaime didn't see it as a consequence but something that simply had to be done but without smugness.
Okay, I thought. That was weird but the writers have to know right? They read the books.
When Jaime and Brienne finally have that bath in the show, and how it was adapted as faithfully as possible, I thought the show finally understood him. It was weird that Jaime returned to Cersei before the Purple Wedding but i thought of nothing of it.
Until THAT episode in Season 4.
Tumblr media
In the books, the scene above should be when Jaime returned at King's Landing after being captured by Robb Stark and The Brave Companions. The reunion was from Jaime' point of view. Cersei's consent was clear:
"Hurry," she was whispering now, "quickly, quickly, now, do it now, do me now. Jaime Jaime Jaime." Her hands helped guide him. "Yes," Cersei said as he thrust, "my brother, sweet brother, yes, like that, yes, I have you, you’re home now, you're home now, you’re home." She kissed his ear and stroked his short bristly hair."
In the show, she actually said, "It's not right!" a few times. Also, a few episodes prior to this, we saw Jaime complaining to her that he had been "back for weeks," and wanted to resume their affair. While in the books we saw two people falling in each other's arms after being apart for a long time, and needing each other desperately, in the show we saw rape. Though the claim by Benioff and Weiss was due to "bad editing/lighting" and that it was "unintentional," their refusal to actually address the issue and just re-edit and re-broadcast buried even more Jaime's redemption arc. As a viewer I forgave this mistake. Maybe next season?
Nope. It got worse.
When Jaime and Cersei made love by Joffrey' body in the books, this was the last time the twins would have sex. The books showed Jaime's gradual disillusionment with Cersei--he thought she drank too much, was tired of her scheming. Tyrion also told him about her affairs with other men. So when Jaime went to Riverrun to recover it for the Crown, he was not only the farthest from Cersei again, he was done. Just DONE. Her pleas for him to help her and promises of love end up tossed in the fire.
The show, rather than adapting this, simply diverged. Season 5 was as confused in what to do with Jaime as lots of viewers were. Season 6 saw Jaime and Cersei resume their affair before he left for the Riverlands. Returning to King's Landing in the finale, we saw the chilling look Jaime gave Cersei during her coronation.
Perhaps this was it. This would be when he falls out of love.
HA.
Season 7, until this weekend's episode, was THE WORST ADAPTATION OF JAIME. There. I'm saying it. THE WORST.
Why? It wasn't even the incest that pissed me off. Jaime, who slew the Mad King for wanting to torch King's Landing with wildfyre, did a dizzying 180 by ENABLING his sister, who murdered Queen Margaery, her former fiance, Kevan Lannister and other innocent members of the court by wildfire. Season 7 Jaime simply took Cersei at her word. Forget about Tommen, THEIR LAST SON. Who committed suicide as a result of his wife's murder. Forget about what really caused the Sept explosion. What mattered was creating a dynasty for "the last Lannisters who count."
Jaime stood by her side and in the queen' name, contributed in tearing further apart the Seven Kingdoms. No questions asked. LITERALLY no questions asked. Despite telling Cersei of the danger of her new position, he went on to rant about the lack of allies. That can be read as Jaime being practical but as the season progressed, it was proof that he would be at her side no matter what. No matter who had to be murdered. He DID say he would murder everyone until it was only the two of them left in the world. Alright.
LIoking back on past episodes, Cersei always succeeded in keeping Jaime at her side with promises of going public with their affair. In the books, Jaime pressed her to let people know he was her choice and she refused. In the Season 4 finale, she told him she told Tywin about them, resulting in passionate and this time consensual sex on a table in the White Sword Tower. In Episode 3 of Season 7, after Cersei fucked him to celebrate her victory over the Sand Snakes, we saw a loved up Jaime in the morning after.
This would be the happiest viewers had seen Jaime. Cersei, now really THE Queen of the Seven Kingdoms, would openly fuck him. The scandal reached as far as Eastwatch, with Tormund, wanting to clarify, asking which queen was discussed in a conversation. "The one with the dragons or the one who fucks her brother?"
Tumblr media
After Daenerys and her Dothraki army burned the Lannister forces on their way back to King's Landing, a shaken and muddy Jaime returned to Cersei right away. And in the same episode, Cersei revealed she was pregnant again. This was happy news, indeed but Jaime needed to know one thing: who will Cersei acknowledge as the father.
"You."
Now I refuse to think Cersei had once again succeeded in manipulating him. I think she WAS pregnant. There's no way to fake joy like that. And yeah, though I don't ship them, I understood Jaime's happiness. Finally, he would get to be a real father.
Still, still, still. Season 7 Jaime really made no sense. There was none of Book Jaime here. None. What we saw was a guy who supported a tyrant willingly and was now going to be a real daddy. I hate it but that's really Season 7 Jaime. Even when he left Cersei, the reason was a headscratcher.
"I don't believe you," has got to be the worst break-up line because it's lame. Better if Jaime just looked at Cersei with puppy dog eyes and walked away. Really.
The beginning of Season 8 saw the writing of Jaime hitting the right beats. A different man, check. A man who honestly regrets what he did to Bran, check. A man who was no longer the golden lion and ready to fulfill a vow he made, check. Hearteyes at Brienne, check.
He knighted Brienne. BIG, FAT CHECKS.
In episode four, The Last of the Starks, Benioff and Weiss, probably tired from the glare of their computer screens, seemed to have just written the episode in bullet points. It became glaringly obvious they wanted the series over and done with. Fuck decent writing.
Jaime Lannister is not the only one who was badly written in the latest episode. Everyone seemed to have forgotten about Qyburn's ballista and Euron apparently a sharp-shooter. We have no idea how Missandei was captured. That drinking game with Jaime, Brienne, Podrick and Tyrion was awkward and misogynistic--seriously, why shame Brienne for being a virgin?
And Sansa! Sansa basically saying if she had not been raped and abused, she wouldn't be in the position she is now! Who on earth says anything like that? Answer: no one. And I don't mean Arya.
And Missandei. The ONE WOMAN OF COLOR in a blindingly white show is chained and beheaded!
Then Jaime. Oh, Jaime.
There are no happy endings in Game of Thrones. Ned Starks gets beheaded. Jon Snow gets knifed. Sansa is raped. Catelyn, Robb and Talisa get butchered. Just when victory is within reach, characters are punished so cruelly it's inhuman.
But it doesn't mean crappy writing. At fifteen million dollars an episode this season, I expect writing that reflects intelligence. Who cares about CGI wolves and dragons when the writing is shit?
Now it's no longer a question if David Benioff and D.B. Weiss hate Jaime. THEY DO. Everyone else was buffed up or given meat. They couldn't even spare Jaime Lannister a decent-sized bone.
Tumblr media
I don't blame Jaime for leaving Brienne. Hear me out.
After Brienne and Sansa tell him the latest developments in King's Landing with regard to Cersei, we see Jaime shocked and even horrified. The next scene, he's in the chambers with Brienne contemplating what to do. And this is where the writing becomes really shitty:
1. He left her without saying goodbye.
2. He LEFT Brienne with her thinking he did it for Cersei.
What was the point of according her the respect and honor of being a knight--done by his own hand? What was the point of telling her he was no longer the fighter he was? Where was the respect when he was going to leave her as a regrettable one night stand? (But Winterfell to King's Landing is a month by land so I assume they've been banging for that long)
Nothing, it's just illogical shit.
Had the writers made just a bit more effort, Jaime Lannister should have been shown experiencing some happiness with Brienne, rather than Tyrion telling the viewers about it. We don't see it. We're just told and have to take their word for it. Jaime could have benefitted too in leaving Brienne in the NEXT episode. Why? It increases the stakes. Just one scene showing Jaime happy, just one, and of him ACTUALLY talking to Brienne about having to leave instead of being found out, and the episode probably won't be as crappy. I don't mind Brienne begging and crying, heartbreaking as that scene is. What I mind is Jaime never being shown what he stands to lose if he leaves Winterfell. Olenna Tyrell, before he he grants her the mercy of taking poison, had warned him it will be too late for him. She's right.
I believe he goes to King's Landing because of the guilt that he began a war to protect Cersei. When he does things for Cersei, the consequences are horrible and far-reaching. Easy to call him dumb and he is. But let's not forget that he charged at Daenerys and Drogon with just a spear thinking to end it all. A spear against a fire-breathing dragon. Like, what are the odds, right?
I'm not going to say anything more about The Bang That Was Promised And Sucked Donkey Balls. Enough has been said, enough hearts have been broken. We KNOW the world of Game of Thrones is dark and bitter and almost without hope. We really do. But as fans of the books and the show, FANS WHO MADE IT POSSIBLE FOR THE SERIES BE RENEWED AND HBO TO INCREASE THE BUDGET EVERY SEASON, all we ask for is good writing. We get that without actual material from George the writing is challenging. WE REALLY DO.
But is it too much to ask for the writers to set aside their hatred for one of the best characters in the series and understand him? Give him the material he deserves in the show? There is none of the Book Jaime trying so hard to be honorable. None. Instead what we've been given, since the first episode, is a train wreck of an adaptation that has now been confirmed as a character assassination.
It's not dragonfyre that has killed Jaime but writing that is careless, hurried and just plain awful. In Benioff and Weiss' determination and delusion in finishing the TV series on a high note, Jaime Lannister has been left with barely a whimper.

Reylo/Star Wars Tag
So, since I’m diving head first into the community after 5 years, I’ve been searching for ways to meet more of you. Anyway, I found this adorable Tag from @supremeprince-bensolo and thought I’d join in!
Rules: Answer the 25 questions and tag some people you think might like to play.
Tagging: I don’t really know anyone to tag, but I’m looking forward to getting to know some of you!
1. When did you start shipping Reylo?
I started shipping Reylo as more of an “oh this could be an interesting dynamic” type thing after watching The Force Awakens in 2015. The chemistry between Adam and Daisy, even as strangers/enemies, was compelling. It wasn’t until I watched The Last Jedi that I thought “yeah, this is totally a thing and I’m not the only crazy person that loves it”. The similarities between the two characters was fascinating.
2. Favorite Reylo moment?
Out of all 3 movies, my favorite Reylo moment is the first ‘force-bond’ scene while Rey is on Ahch-To. She’s still filled with so much anger and hatred for him, but Kylo is more interested in figuring out what is going on between them. To me, it illustrates the deeper motivations of the characters and their evolving relationship.
3. Three words to describe Reylo?
Conflict | Passion | Redemption
4. Favorite thing about Reylo?
My favorite thing about Reylo is, despite the difference in their upbringing, they have suffered in the same way. Both have been alienated from their families and forced into a role that they didn’t necessarily choose. Both are incredibly lonely and feel as though they are misunderstood by everyone close to them.
5. Favorite character?
Darth Vader. As an OT kid, I really don’t think another answer to this question exists. Vader has to be one of the most epic villains ever created. #LongLiveDarthDaddy
6. Favorite droid?
K2-SO. This may be a stretch, but come on! I just love the attitude!! Rogue One is a fantastic addition to Star Wars and Alan Tudyk is absolutely AMAZING!
7. Favorite planet?
This is tough. I’ll cheat and say it's a tie between Mustafar and Kashyyyk. Mustafar because of Vader. It would be a cool place to visit and explore. Kashyyyk because of the Wookiees. I mean, who wouldn’t want to live with Wookiees on a beautiful jungle planet?
8. Favorite spaceship?
Again, another tie. Of course, the Millenium Falcon is the most iconic ship in all of Star Wars. I seriously cried when I got to see it on my first trip to Galaxy’s Edge! Other than the Falcon, the one ship I would love to fly is the TIE Interceptor. That thing is just badass!
9. Favorite alien species?
JAWAS!!! Oh. My. God. I’ve been obsessed with Jawas since I was a kid! I used to parade around the house in a brown blanket shouting “UTINNI!” at literally everything! I just love those sneaky little ass holes!
10. Favorite actor/actress?
Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher. I know. I know. It’s the OT kid, again. Besides Star Wars, the only other movies I would watch as a kid were the Indiana Jones movies. I was 6 before I realized that not all movies had Harrison Ford in them. And Carrie? Forget it. She was the first female role model I had in movies. If Princess Leia could do it, so could I.
11. How did you get into Star Wars?
I can honestly say I can’t remember the first time I watched a Star Wars movie. I can remember watching Empire almost weekly as a kid. My dad had the OT on VHS and I would watch them whenever I had a chance.
12. Most memorable Star Wars moment?
Ugh. This one is hard! There are so many moments from each film and trilogy that stand out. I think I’m going to have to go with a Vader moment though. The scene in Rogue One where Vader hacks through everyone on the Rebellion ship. Shit. That has got to be one of the coolest, most well choreographed scenes. He’s the baddie to end all baddies!
13. Anakin Skywalker or Darth Vader?
Don’t get me wrong, I love Anakin. I love that the Prequels explain his backstory so well. I love that we get to see the conflict build in him and that his choices felt right at the time. And, I love how Haden portrays the character. BUT, Darth Vader is iconic. He’s truly the villain, no matter what his backstory says.
14. Ben Solo or Kylo Ren?
Ben Solo! So, here’s the thing. I don’t really see Kylo Ren as a separate entity. Kylo feels like a costume that Ben wears to protect himself. He becomes what he has to. Not to spoil anything from The Rise of Kylo Ren, but Ben is a victim of abuse. There’s no doubt about it. It’s canon. I don’t think he ever truly falls the way Anakin does. It feels like he finds a role he thinks he can play, so he puts on a costume and acts how he thinks he should.
15. OT, PT or ST?
OT!!! While I love all three trilogies, the Original will always have a special place in my heart. If it weren’t for those, I don’t know if I would love Star Wars as much as I do.
16. TLJ or ESB?
EMPIRE STRIKES BACK!! Are you kidding? There’s no contest. Yes, TLJ is amazing, but Empire is quintessential Star Wars. It has action, adventure, fantasy, violence, and romance that all of the other films try to emulate.
17. ROTS or ANH?
BIG OOF! I’m probably in the minority here, but Revenge of the Sith. I love the fall of Anakin Skywalker.
18. ROTJ or TFA?
Return of the Jedi. TFA is great and I love the new characters that it introduces, but ROTJ is amazing. Vader’s death is so poetic.
19. TPM or TROS?
I never thought I would find a Star Wars movie that I hate more than The Phantom Menace, but TROS did the damn thing. Like shit! What a HORRIBLE way to end a franchise that I’ve loved my entire life. Seriously, TROS is the Jar Jar Binks of the Star Wars universe.
20. Rogue One or Solo?
Don’t get me wrong! I LOVED Solo. Seriously, Donald Glover as young Lando is absolutely fantastic casting and seeing Han and Chewie’s backstory is perfect. BUT!! Rogue One’s storyline is much more compelling. It also has my favorite Vader scene….. sooooooo.
21. Favorite quote?
There are soooooo many fantastic quotes in Star Wars, but I’m going to have to go with one that always made me giggle. Master Yoda is the original savage.
“When 900 years old you reach, look as good you will not.”
22. Favourite meme?
I am literally obsessed with this little shit. I mean… Come on!!
Tumblr media
23. Favourite gif?
Does this count?
Tumblr media
24. If you could change one thing about the Skywalker Saga what would it be?
For the Rise of Skywalker to actually have a Skywalker rise? Is that really too much to ask? For there to be at least one Skywalker left at the end of the Skywalker Saga. No, still too much? Maybe, not have the nemesis of the Skywalker line survive though his granddaughter? Maybe have a female character that is strong enough on her own? One who doesn’t need some powerful dude ancestor to justify her strength. Ok. I’ll stop now.
25. Top 3 Star Wars movies?
EMPIRE STRIKES BACK
Rogue One
The Last Jedi

How about hector Rivera from coco?
How about YES! 8D

How I feel about this character: One of the best characters ever created by Pixar, 11/10, best boy, sweet, sneaky, caring, creative, deserves the best.
All the people I ship romantically with this character: Definitely Imelda: the two of them are really made for each other; she’s prideful and lordly like a rock, he’s adaptable and lively like water. Really, a match made in heaven.
My non-romantic OTP for this character: He and Miguel have a very great chemistry together, even before learning they’re actually related; it helps that the kid got a lot from his great-great-grandpa.
My unpopular opinion about this character: I still can’t fault Imelda for being angry at him: killed or not, he left his family alone, and for all she knew, he died for a stupid reason (of course, he wanted to provide for his family and Ernesto insisted about the “Let’s leave this little town” thing, but leaving your wife and child alone was a risky move regardless). She knew so little about what happened to him, but she WAS left alone with Coco against a hard world, she has every reason to be mad. And I like how Héctor never tries to justify himself: he knows that, murdered or not, he still made a bad decision, and he feels responsible for it, never once blaming Imelda. Ok, this is more about Imelda, but I wanted to make sure to make one point: Imelda WAS being stubborn in not wanting to deal at all with her husband in death without hearing what really happened, but she had every reason to be mad at him. Héctor is an amazing character, I like him dearly, but he made mistakes, and the fact he addresses them shows how much he regrets them.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: Would’ve loved to see his first reunion with Coco (apparently she died a little before Dia de los Muertos: what we see in the movie is not their first meeting), but that would’ve destroyed me even more, so I’m not complaining. uwu

TV Show Tag Game
I was tagged by @darkpoisonouslove
rules: pick 5 shows, then answer the following questions. don’t cheat. tag 10 (or however many) people.
1. Legends of Tomorrow
2. NCIS
3. Winx Club
4. Supergirl
5. Steven Universe
what’s your favourite character from 1?
Hmmm.... Probably between Mick Rory and Sara Lance. Mick because he’s so unapologetically himself, even as he starts to grow and change a little. And Sara is the confident leader (after season 1) and I just... Love her chaotic bisexual energy.
who’s your least favourite character in 2?
Fuck.... There’s so many. There was a Ted Bundy-esque dude who I really fucking hated. And I despised this guy named Dearing.... And I wasn’t a fan of this back-up team that came in to hunt the P2P killer (port to port killer). Not to mention Chip was an asshole. And the Cartel Siblings that tried to kill/destroy Gibbs’ life....
what’s your favourite episode of 4?
I loved this episode in (i think it was season 3? or four?) when Kara and J’onn go to Mars and we see bits and pieces of J’onn’s past and we meet his father (who voiced J’onn in the Justice League cartoon!)
what is your favorite season of 5?
I really liked Steven Universe Future, the final season. It was... Cathartic and it answered many questions that I had. And it showed Steven growing up and learning more how to deal with himself and his own problems instead of the problems of those around him.
what’s your favorite couple of 3?
Flora and Helia. They clicked in just the right way. (Though I wish canon in both the comics and the show would at least try to line up instead of changing every time. But whatever.)
(My favorite non-canon/potentially canon in the past couple is Valtor/Griffin though... Just saying.)
what’s your favorite couple in 2?
This is a loaded question because damn does this have all the ships... But I’m going to have to say Tiva-TonyxZiva. They had chemistry from day 1 and it just escalated from there. Even now, after they’ve both left the team, they’re together with their daughter, Tali. (Who is played by an adorable little girl who’s name I can’t seem to find.)
what’s your favorite episode in 1?
I have quite a few. But the top is 1.03: Blood Ties.
One, we get to see how badass Sara Lance is and how awesome her training is.
We also get to see the limits of time travel and how sometimes “time wants to happen”. (Meaning you can’t just change fate.) This is a whole conversation brought on because Leonard Snart aka Captain Cold goes into the past to try and stop his father from going to jail the first time around. (Spoiler: It doesn’t work and Lewis Snart still ends up being an abusive bastard.)
what’s your favorite episode in 5?
On the Run. Holy shit this episode started off as the usual feel-good/filler episode... But then it quickly turned into more.
We see Amethyst’s roots and how she came to be and... And we see a glimpse into her self-loathing and I just... I want to cry thinking about it because it just... Hit home in so many ways.
what’s your favorite season in 2?
I’d say Season 3, simply because we’re introduced to Ziva. Or Season 4 (or was it 5) in which the team gets caught up in an inter-agency investigation that almost threatens their jobs....
how long have you been watching 1?
I’ve watched it since it first came out. I thought it’d be interesting, and boy... I wasn’t wrong.
how did you get into 3?
That’s a funny story... I was a kid and my local Cartoon Network (yes, it aired on CN for the first season, way back in the day XD )and I saw the ad for a new fairy show and was like ‘oh, this’ll be cool’. Little did I know how sucked in I would become.. XD
favorite actor in 4?
David Harewood. He’s the Martian Manhunter and I just... I love him. I also really love Katie McGrath... But I’m also in love with her so... XD
which do you prefer? 1, 2 or 5?
Currently 5. It just aired it’s final episodes and I’m still not over it.
which show have you seen more of, 1 or 3?
Technically I’ve seen more of 1, simply because I’ve not seen the end of one of the Winx seasons and I’ve missed one of the movies. But I’ve seen every episode, so far, of Legends.
if you could be anyone from 4, who would you be?
Do I have to be an actual character or can I create a character? I like me, but I think I’d like a version of me that’s a superhero. XD (I guess M’gann if I have to be... I hate how they did her story for Supergirl, but I do love the idea of being a Martian.)
would a crossover of 3 and 4 work?
Winx and Supergirl? Well... I mean... Stranger things have happened on both shows. (Supergirl even has an inter-dimensional imp that pops in from time to time to screw shit up. So I wouldn’t be surprised if he sent Kara and her friends into the Winx world. Also, picture this, a transformation sequence as Kara and her friends become their superhero selves. Just picture it.)
pair two characters in 1 who would make an unlikely but strangely okay couple?
Charlie and Constantine. They have this chaotic energy about them and I just... I live for it, okay? The chaos. The magic. The fun.
overall, which show has the better storyline, 3 or 5?
Winx or Steven Universe? Well... With the way things have been so far.... Steven Universe. I’m sorry, but they kept up with continuity and did awesome stuff and I just... I’m sorry, but they did better than Winx.
which has better theme music, 2 or 4?
NCIS or Supergirl? NCIS. Just... It has quite the soundtrack for seventeen seasons.
Tagging: @meluisart and @electra-jolts-magnetism and anyone else who wishes to do this.
