UNCLEAN ♡ OIKAWA TORU

what's it? suggestive allergen warning/s? n/a sugar level? 0.8k regulars? @hanayanetwork
parlor's note? the bottle referenced here is the one they use in the anime, the kind of bottle where you have to pull and push at the mouthpiece to open and close it. also, this was written for someone else originally so if you see an error, no u didn’t :DD
Tumblr media
bon appetit!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
you loudly cheered for your team as oikawa scored another point for them via a setter dump, further bring the momentum and the blessing of the goddess of victory to your team. you were sure that the pressure was starting to settle onto the other team's bones. it couldn't be denied, the fact that they were forced to take their second time out of the set proved that.
you smiled brightly at the men in your team as they stepped off the court for time being, greeting them before the coach for the argentinean  gave them a few words of guidance, telling them that what they were doing is working against one of the toughest teams in this year's olympics - japan's national team - and should continue pushing through, continue with this style of offense, do not take the nine point lead for granted.
you gave each of them their respective water bottles, careful not to accidentally give one the other's as the older man continued to encourage them, giving them some advice while he was at it. and as always, you gave oikawa's things last. that was something you did ever since you got to know him because usually, if the game is going well - like it is right now -, coach is already over with his talk with the team once you've reached him, giving you the opportunity to converse with him some more as you've always enjoyed time spent with the brunette man and with the enthusiasm that seeps into his voice whenever he talks to you, assuming he enjoyed it as well would not be considered a far fetched guess.
albeit you probably did like him in a different way he likes you as over the years of working with him, you've developed a small crush on him. or at least it was a small crush. now there are times where you find yourself enamored by him, by his mere existence that you forget to breathe for a few seconds. and the best thing about oikawa was that his handsome features were only a secondary reason onto why you liked him, as the primary reason for your infatuation was his attitude, the way he carried himself, the way his mind worked. you found it absolutely fascinating and you want nothing more than to delve into it, into him until you were breathless and unable to remember anything but him.
as usual, he was smirking at you as you handed him his towel and water bottle, only, there was something different about this smirk. you cannot explain it, nor can you put your finger on it, but there's definitely something there.
his hand grabbed at the towel and gave you a curt thanks before opening his mouth to speak some more. "hun, my hands are dirty. can you open my bottle for me?" he asked with a tilt of his head and you quickly looked down to hide how your cheeks were burning up at his stare.
you were about to grab at the mouthpiece that had to be pulled up in order for it to be opened when he quietly tsk-ed discontentedly at you. "your hands are dirty too."
so you found yourself looking up at him in confusion, silently asking him what he wanted you to do because truthfully, you had no idea.
"with your mouth,"
you murmured the words back to him in disbelief. there was no way he said those three words. he's never hinted at liking you in that way and it just doesn't make any sense in your dumbfounded mind.
the look on your face just makes him chuckle. he leans down to your level, his mouth right by your ear as he repeats himself  "with your mouth". his warm breath gives you a chill and makes you press your legs together. he glances back at the court and then at you. "c'mon hun, i don't have all day. i still have to drink." he states plainly as if he didn't just say what he did.
you were powerless against his gaze and did what he told you to do.
you put the tip of the water bottle to your lips and tug at the mouthpiece with your teeth, opening it for oikawa.
without missing a beat, he smirks further, cupping the bottle with his large hand and taking it from you, drinking from it oh-so casually. and in the nick of time too because the moment he was done, the referee blows the whistle, signifying the end of the time out.
he presses the bottle back to your hands, "close it for me now, yeah?"

✎ Soulmate AU, Angst, Hurt comfort
Tumblr media
You had always been a meek child. And it shocked everyone you would meet.
It had a lot to do with the fact that your parents were both extremely outgoing. They were loud, adventurous types who loved trying new things. It wasn't difficult to see how they were soulmates. They were practically cut from the same cloth. But you, you often made people lose the plot. You didn't act like your parents' daughter at all.
You had always been very shy. It had taken you forever to make friends in daycare, and even longer once you entered kindergarten. Kids were too loud and too messy. So you preferred to keep to yourself. The few friends you had were because someone else would take you 'under their wing' somehow.
You got better as you grew up, though you could still technically be considered an introvert. You hated that word. Hated how limiting it was and how it put you into a box. You weren't an introvert. You had friends that you loved hanging out with and spending time with. You didn't prefer being alone. You loved companionship.
You just didn't think you were interesting enough to deserve it.
So you stayed in your little circle of dedicated friends, girls you had met as a little kid and stuck by all through elementary and middle school. But towards the end of middle school, something happened that changed your life forever.
You met your soulmate.
Well, 'met' was a strong word. You saw him, from afar. You laid eyes on him, felt that electricity shoot up inside you, the mantra of 'soulmate, soulmate, soulmate' repeating in your head. It was the same pattern of feelings you were told your whole life that you would feel. Down to every last detail. Yet your brain couldn't accept it. You couldn't believe the obvious signals your body was sending you. It just couldn't be.
Your soulmate was…… Oikawa Tooru?
The Oikawa Tooru. Kitagawa Daiichi's star setter. The best player their school had seen so far. You had seen him while he was receiving the award for best setter. When your eyes had settled on him for more than 5 seconds, signaling to your body that you were looking directly at your soulmate. You were frozen in your spot, obscured in the crowd of students seated for the ceremony. Watching as Oikawa accepted his medal and his shield. The center of attention, the smile on his face bright and warm.
You in the bleachers, clapping mechanically, no different from anyone around you. Blending into your surroundings like you had your entire life.
It took you many, many weeks to get used to the idea that Oikawa Tooru was your soulmate. Your other half. It just didn't sit well with you. You had seen soulmate couples your entire life, including your parents. People with similar tastes, more or less matching personalities, so in love and so in sync.
You and Oikawa were worlds apart.
He had a gentle charm to him, easy going smile and bright, bright brown eyes, hair so casually wind swept, the color of warm chestnut. He was tall, lean, enough to command a room the second he entered it. It almost seemed like he had a spotlight on him at all times. As you watched him from afar, cracking jokes and laughing loud, annoying his friends and greeting his fans, you realized just how different you two were.
You were, in every sense of the word, average. You weren't confident, but you could speak your mind when you wanted. You weren't ugly, but you weren't exactly a head turner. You were so….. mediocre. Especially compared to someone as rare and wonderful as Oikawa Tooru. There's no way you could match up to him.
You didn't deserve him. And more importantly, he deserved so much better than you.
You never dared mention to anyone that you knew who your soulmate was. Your friends would hound you forever and your parents would be flabbergasted that you didn't tell him yet. You didn't have it in yourself to explain to them why you didn't. It made sense in your head, but you had enough awareness to know that other people would say it's utter bullshit. You didn't want to deal with that. Someday, Oikawa would give up on finding his soulmate and settle down with someone else. Someone who could fit into his shiny, busy world. All you had to do till then was stay out of the way. This was for Oikawa's own good.
You knew fate was testing you when you unintentionally ended up at the same high school as Oikawa. You had nearly done a double take when you saw him in the halls, talking to that spiky haired boy he was friends with, basking in the admiring looks of multiple girls that walked past him and waved at him. It made you sigh. It's like every time you saw him, you were reminded how much better he was than you. And all it did was strengthen your resolve to stay miles away from him.
You managed to successfully avoid Oikawa for many months, which wasn't hard considering your straightforward routine. You didn't like leaving class for no reason. You had lunch at your desk. You weren't part of any clubs so you would go straight home afterwards. Also owing to the fact that Oikawa appeared to be the busiest person in the world, it made your life much easier.
You should've known it wouldn't last long. It seemed the entire universe was conspiring to get you closer to Oikawa. And the universe had sent Matsukawa Issei to do the job.
Matsukawa was in the same class as you. He sat next to you in the back row and dosed off during most of the lessons. You thought he was incredibly amusing. Especially when he would sneak food into his mouth during classes and try to chew it without the teacher noticing that his mouth was moving. When you would try to hide your grin, he would wink at you and offer you food too, and both of you would munch on it while you waited for lessons to be over. He was very laid back and easy going, yet had a lot of confidence. In an ideal world where you weren't so anxious, you liked to think you would be a lot like him.
You never would've dreamed that someone so naturally lazy would actually be part of a sports club. Especially not volleyball. The thought never crossed your mind. Had you known, you wouldn't have touched him with a ten foot pole. But you made it a point to stay as far away from Oikawa and volleyball as possible, so you didn't know. Big mistake.
The midday sun was beating on your head as you stood waiting at the school gate. You tried leaning against the wall but the brick was burning up, making you yelp and jump away. You scowled at your phone, staring at Matsukawa's name before hitting Call. He picked up after only two beeps.
"Y/N-?"
"Where the hell are you, Issei? I'm getting cooked in this heat!" You whined, feeling your scowl deepen. You watched students bustle out of the gate, eager to get home and away from the sun. There was a short pause on the other end of the line before Matsukawa spoke again.
"Oh shit."
You groaned out loud at the words, knowing exactly what he meant.
"Issei, I need those notes! We have a quiz tomorrow and you promised me you would give them back after school."
You could hear Matsukawa panting on the other end, making your eyebrows furrow. Was he running?
"Listen, Y/N. I left my bag at the gym. The team is out on a run right now and I think we will be back in maybe ten minutes? Why don't you go wait at the gym and I'll give it to you when I come-"
"Wait," you cut him off. "What gym? What are you talking about?"
More huffing. "Oh yeah, you don't know. I'm in the volleyball club. Go wait for me at the gym."
You stilled, blinking once, before the implication of his words sank in and panic gripped your chest. "No, no, wait! I can't go there. I'll wait for you at the gate and you can just come give it to me-"
"Coach won't let me leave the gym during practice time. What's the big deal? It'll take two minutes-"
"No Issei!" You cut him off, feeling cornered. "Keep the notebook. I'll get it from you tomorrow."
"But what about the qui-"
You hung up.
Your heart was beating a mile a minute, thoughts racing. That was so close. So close. You had unintentionally become friends with Oikawa's teammate. And you had no clue. Panic gripped you as you realized what this meant. At any given time, Oikawa could've seen you. He could've walked into your classroom to talk to Issei about something and laid eyes on you. Then he would've known.
The walk home was shaky and disorienting. You felt frustrated with yourself at this game you were playing. Trying to stay away from the boy this universe was begging you to be with. Someone your heart also desperately wanted, but your insecure, anxious brain was constantly yelling at you to stay away from.
He's too good. His future is too bright. You'll ruin him.
You were so tired.
The quiz ended up being pretty easy, considering the fact that you didn't study for it at all and spent most of your evening crying, then watching some shitty comedy on Netflix that didn't make you laugh at all, going through your snack drawer like an madwoman and finally falling asleep, where brown eyes plagued you in your dreams for the rest of the night. You thanked the gods that you had nothing good to do in your life and hence spent most of your time studying. It meant you did pretty well on your test despite doing nothing to prepare for it.
If there was one thing about you that was way above average, it was your brain.
Issei was looking at you weirdly throughout the day, and he finally spoke up at lunch, something you had been dreading.
"You wanna tell me what the hell that was yesterday?" He crossed his arms, staring at you so hard you were afraid he could take a peek into your soul.
"What the hell was what." You deadpanned, avoiding his gaze.
"Don't be daft. You nearly had a panic attack when I told you to come meet me at the volleyball gym."
You cringed at the word 'volleyball', sighing deeply. "I just didn't want to make the extra trip, it was really hot outside-"
You stopped talking when Matsukawa abruptly sat up, eyes narrowed at you. "You're bullshitting me. Tell me the truth."
You felt your cheeks heat up in embarrassment. "I am telling you the-"
"I'll drag the entire volleyball team here if I have to." He drawled, a challenge in his voice. "You freaked me out yesterday. And it has something to do with my club. So tell me, or I'll find out somehow."
You felt your heart race. Dammit. You couldn't think of anything else. You couldn't think of a lie to placate him. And as you stared into his dark eyes, you knew you had lost.
Matsukawa Issei became the first person to know who your soulmate was.
He had dragged you out of the class after lunch break. There had been too much to unpack in that short amount of time. You hid behind the school overlooking the grounds, telling Matsukawa everything, like word vomit that you couldn't stop. You realized as you talked just how desperate you were to tell someone about all this. You had kept it in for so long that just saying it all out loud seemed to lighten your load.
A thick blanket of silence fell on you two when you finished, nearly out of breath. You watched Matsukawa intently as he stared out at the grounds, one leg pulled up to his torso and resting his arm on his knee. He sighed heavily, running a hand across his face.
"For someone who gets the best grades in our class, you have got to be the dumbest person I have ever met."
You blinked at his words, shocked. "Huh?"
He scowled deeply at you, shocking you even more. He looked almost angry.
"You think you know better than the universe? You think you're smarter than fate?" He raised his voice, looking pissed. "How can you think the gods were wrong when they paired you with Oikawa? And to make this huge decision, without even considering how Oikawa might feel-"
"How dare you." Your voice trembled, feeling tears prick at your lash line. "All I did was consider how Oikawa might feel. I put my own feelings aside-"
"What the hell makes you think this is what Oikawa wants?" Matsukawa raised his voice even more, nearly swelling up in frustration. "You don't know him. You don't know if he wants you. You can't make this decision for him!"
You reeled at his words, blinking your tears away furiously. What the hell was Issei implying? That Oikawa could actually make any alternative choice? It couldn't be. Why would he want you?
Issei's face was softening, watching the emotions flit over your face.
"Y/N," he continued. "You're my friend. I'd like to think I know you. And from what I've seen, I guarantee you that there is not one thing about you that Oikawa won't like."
"But I-" You drew in a trembling breath. "We're so different."
Issei snorted and shrugged. "Trust me, he needs that. Or his head would get too big for his own body to carry."
You two stayed silent for a bit, letting Issei's words wash over you like a cold shower after a hot day. Your heart was screaming at you to believe him, but your mind wouldn't let up. You heard him sigh and stand up, stretching his arms above his head. How long had you been out here anyway? It felt like hours. Was school over? What time was it?
"Alright, let's go." You snapped out of your thoughts at his words, blinking owlishly up at him.
"Go where?"
He didn't answer, waving your question off like he was swatting a fly before he grabbed your arm and pulled you up to your feet, not giving you a moment to breathe as he led you away.
"Issei-"
"Shut up. I've heard enough outta you." He didn't look back at you. You felt a sting of indignation, falling into silence and letting him drag you. You felt so burnt out.
You only tuned back into the present when you heard the squeaks and thuds on hardwood floors, tensing up when Issei climbed the three small stairs leading to the open volleyball gym doors. He tugged your arm when he realized you had stopped, turning to look at you. He gave you a soft look, almost pleading.
"He deserves this. Please."
You felt your shoulders slump in acceptance, mind stilling and slowing in its tirade of thoughts. With one last deep breath, you stepped inside.

A/N. Literally came back just to write about my sneaky link right now. Listened to August and cried because everything relates too hard, and we met in August. When he breaks my heart I'm gonna come back with mad angsty one shots.
Had to do a remake cause the other was atrocious.

The night swirled with energy, a symphony of laughter and music filling the air. Y/N stood amidst the pulsating crowd, her gaze drawn to one figure in particular—Oikawa. He moved with effortless grace, the center of attention wherever he went. The charismatic figure around whom the energy of the gathering seemed to revolve.
She had heard about him before, seen him from afar in the hallways of their school, and watched  his volleyball games where his presence commanded attention like a magnet pulling in metal. Tonight, however, was the first time they had exchanged more than passing glances.
Their eyes met, and a spark ignited between them. Y/N's heart raced as Oikawa made his way over, his smile like a beacon in the dimly lit room.
"Hey there," he greeted, his voice smooth and inviting.
"Hi," Y/N replied, her cheeks flushing at his attention.
They fell into conversation easily, the rest of the party fading into the background as they shared stories and laughed together. It felt like they had known each other for years, their connection instant and undeniable.
But as the night wore on, their words flowed more freely, the connection between them deepening with each shared laugh and whispered confession. By the time the early hours of morning approached, Y/N found herself drawn to him in a way she couldn't quite explain.
As the last guests began to filter out and the house grew quieter, Oikawa turned to her with a smile that seemed to hold a promise. "Do you want to go somewhere else?" he asked, his voice low and inviting.
Y/N hesitated for a moment, her mind racing with conflicting thoughts. But the pull of Oikawa's charm was too strong to resist, and she nodded in agreement.
They found themselves outside, the night air cool against their skin as they walked together, the silence between them filled with an unspoken tension. It was as if the world around them had faded away, leaving only the two of them in their own private universe.
When they finally reached a secluded spot, Oikawa turned to her, his eyes searching hers with an intensity that sent shivers down her spine. Without a word, he leaned in, capturing her lips in a kiss that ignited a fire within her.
In that moment, all doubts vanished, replaced by a hunger she couldn't deny. They stumbled into each other's arms, the passion between them burning brighter with each touch, each whispered endearment.
But as the sun rose on a new day, reality intruded upon their moment of bliss. Y/N watched as Oikawa's expression shifted, his features clouding with uncertainty.
"We should keep this between us," he said, his voice tinged with regret. "It's better that way, don't you think?"
But beneath the surface, Y/N felt the weight of their secret bearing down on her. She longed for something more, something real, but she was too afraid to voice her desires, too afraid of losing what little she had with Oikawa.
Y/N nodded, her heart sinking with a heaviness she couldn't shake. She knew what he meant - they were just two people caught up in the heat of the moment, nothing more.
And yet, despite the ache in her chest, she couldn't bring herself to walk away. So they agreed to keep their encounters a secret, their friendship blossoming even as their relationship remained hidden from the world.
Their hangouts were filled with laughter and excitement, each moment tinged with the thrill of forbidden desire. Whether they were exploring hidden gems in the city, sharing late-night snacks at a deserted diner, or simply losing themselves in each other's company, Y/N couldn't deny the undeniable chemistry that crackled between them.
But as the night waned and she returned home alone, the guilt crept in like a shadow, casting a pall over the euphoria of their time together. She couldn't shake the feeling of emptiness that lingered in the wake of their passionate encounters, a nagging doubt that whispered to her in the darkness.
Why did she give herself like that so easily? She felt like a slut.
"Why do you keep coming back?" Oikawa asked one night, his brow furrowed with confusion as they lay entwined beneath the stars.
Y/N hesitated, her mind racing with a thousand unspoken truths. "I don't know," she murmured softly, her voice barely audible above the rustle of leaves in the breeze.
But in reality, she knew the answer all too well. She craved the warmth of his touch, the sound of his laughter echoing in her ears. She longed to be wanted, to feel desired in a way that transcended the confines of secrecy and shame.
And yet, she couldn't bring herself to voice the depths of her longing, to lay bare the vulnerability that lay hidden beneath her carefully constructed facade. So instead, she remained silent, her heart heavy with the weight of unsaid words, aching for a love she feared she would never find.
But as the weeks turned into months, Y/N found herself yearning for more. She watched as Oikawa flirted with other girls, his laughter ringing out across crowded rooms, and felt a pang of jealousy that she couldn't suppress.
One night, as they lay tangled together in the darkness, Y/N couldn't hold back any longer. "Do you ever think about us?" she whispered, her voice trembling with emotion.
Oikawa was silent for a moment, his fingers tracing patterns against her skin. "I'm glad we're not anything serious," he finally said, his tone casual. "I've seen too many relationships crash and burn. We're better off just chilling, don't you think?"
The words hit Y/N like a punch to the gut, leaving her reeling with a pain she couldn't articulate. She forced a smile, nodding in agreement even as tears pricked at the corners of her eyes.
"It's nice to just chill, you know?" he said casually, his words like a knife to her heart.
Y/N felt a lump form in her throat, her heart sinking at his words. She forced a smile, nodding in agreement, but inside, she was crumbling.
The weight of her emotions grew heavier with each passing day, until it felt like she was drowning in a sea of unspoken truths.
"I just don't understand why you keep putting yourself through this," one of them said, her voice tinged with frustration.
Y/N sighed, her shoulders slumping as she struggled to find the words to explain. "I know it's not ideal, but there's something between us, something I can't quite let go of."
"But he's treating you like nothing serious," another friend interjected, her tone harsh. "You deserve so much better than being someone's dirty little secret."
But Y/N couldn't find the words to explain the ache in her heart, the fear of rejection that held her back.  She winced at the words, knowing deep down that they were true. But the thought of walking away from Oikawa, from the connection they shared, was too painful to bear.
"I just wish you could see yourself the way we see you," her friend continued, her voice softening. "You're worth so much more than this."
Y/N felt a lump form in her throat as she stared down at her hands, the weight of their words pressing down on her like a lead weight. She knew they were right, knew that she deserved better than what Oikawa was offering.
Her friends exchanged exasperated looks, their patience wearing thin. "You're being stupid," another friend chimed in. "You need to get out of this mess before it destroys you completely."
But for Y/N, leaving wasn't so simple. Despite the pain, despite the heartache, she couldn't shake the feeling that there was still something worth fighting for. As much as she wanted to walk away. She would rather have this connection with him than risk losing him.
It was August, the summer break was coming to an end.As they lay together beneath a blanket of stars, that Y/N finally found the courage to speak her truth.
"I can't do this anymore," she cried, her voice raw with pain. "I can't be someone's secret."
Oikawa was silent for a moment, his expression unreadable in the dim light. And then, with a sigh, he nodded in resignation. "I knew this would happen," he said, his voice heavy with regret.
The words sharp and cutting as they circled each other like predators in a hunt. Y/N could feel the tension crackling in the air, a palpable force that threatened to consume them both.
"Why do you keep coming back if it makes you so unhappy?" Oikawa demanded, his voice tinged with frustration.
Y/N's heart clenched at the accusation, her defenses crumbling under the weight of his words. "I don't know," she whispered, her voice barely above a whisper. "I just... I can't help it."
But even as she spoke the words, she knew they were a lie. She could help it - she just didn't want to. She craved the fleeting moments of joy, the stolen glances and whispered confessions that made her feel alive in a way she had never known before.
And yet, beneath the surface, a storm raged within her, tearing at the seams of her carefully constructed facade. She was tired of hiding, tired of pretending that their relationship was something it wasn't. She wanted more
As the tears welled in her eyes, Y/N knew that she couldn't keep up the charade any longer. She had to be honest - with him, with herself - even if it meant risking everything she had ever known.
"Feelings and emotions got caught in the way. I'm sorry."he said quietly, his voice barely audible above the pounding of her heart.
With those words, their fragile bond shattered like glass. And in that moment, Y/N realized that she had never truly been alone - that he had always known the truth, even when she couldn't bring herself to say the words out loud. But now, as she stood on the precipice of her own liberation, she knew that she could no longer hide behind the facade of their secret love.

HAIKYUU BOYS WHO WOULD
— look at you with fascination and curiosity in their eyes, watching you curl your eyelashes with your little mirror in hand as you wait for the next class to begin. Feeling their gaze on you, you looked at them with a teasing smile and ask “wanna try?” To your surprise, they’ll let you curl their eyelashes.
After curling their eyelashes, they would blink owlishly and smile at you. “I’m prettier than you now.”

Summary: You get caught up in something and he defends you

Part 4 - Yuji Terushima, Kiyoomi Sakusa
Part 5 - Kageyama
Toru Oikawa
👑 When you started hanging out with the boys more often, most of the fans were kind enough, they all knew that they weren’t dating Oikawa.
👑 Oikawa was the one to announce that he was dating you, all it took was one post and everyone knew by the next day.
👑 Like I said most of the fans were happy for you both but there were a few who refused to believe that you were both together, people that claimed you were with him because of his money (unfortunately athletes don’t actually get paid that much but okay) or for the status.
👑 Though these opinions hadn’t been much more than social media comments you had always been waiting to meet someone with more confidence than common sense.
You smiled as someone tapped you on the shoulder, you looked over your shoulder and your smile widened as you looked at Iwaizumi “I’m glad you found the stadium okay.” You smiled as he took a seat next to you, his arm stretching over the seat behind you as he ruffled your hair slightly. “Do you know how long it took me to do my hair today? Why would you do that?” You tried to fix the damage he had done.
“Don’t worry you look fine, it’s not like shittykawa is even going to notice.” He shrugged.
“Are you trying to make me feel better?” You asked.
“He’s glanced up at the 3 times and he’s still not realized me.” Iwa shrugged.
“See she claims to be dating Oikawa but she’s letting this guy wrap his arm around her.” You both looked over at the girl who pulled out her phone and snapped a picture of you both.
“I’m going to post this.” She informed you as she showed you the picture.
“Please do, I look really good from that angle.” You smiled “don’t you think?”
“Yeah sure.” Iwa rolled his eyes with a smirk, his eyes on something on the court.
“Are you done here?” You asked as you waited for them to leave.
“Are you serious!?” She asked.
“Surely you’re not going to watch the game from there.” You frowned, you could see Iwa was about 5 minutes away from telling them to get lost himself but before anything else could happen, you heard him:
“Little cutie! You didn’t tell me that there was a special guest.” Oikawa appeared next to you.
“Well you were the one that said you missed him.” You shrugged “Iwa said that he was looking to go on holiday so here we are.”
“I love you.” He cheered as he pressed a kiss to your lips before turning his attention to Iwa both of the hugging as you glanced over to see the girls were gone. “Fans of yours?” He asked in reference to the girls that were in the place that you were looking.
“Fans of yours.” You corrected him “thought I was cheating with Iwa.”
“Still as annoying as it was in school.” Iwa cut in.
“Come you’ve got to get back down there and make this match worth the watch.” You ordered, he leaned down to kiss you one more time snapping a picture on your phone.
“Post that for me.” He winked kissing you one more time before jogging off out of the range of Iwa’s hit.

💪 You didn’t often go to meet Iwa at work, he worked at a gym full of men most of the time and he was rather protective.
💪 This time however he had forgotten his lunch and as much as he hated asking he needed you to drop it off, seeing the way that his day was lined up, he wasn’t going to have time to go out and grab something else.
💪 When you got there the woman at the front desk smiled as she recognised you. “He told me he was waiting for you, I’ll call him down.” she called for Iwa and then gestured for you to go take a seat while you waited for him.
💪 The people behind you must have been listening in because before long they were standing over you.
“Can I help you?” You asked as you looked up at them.
“Do you even go to the gym?” One of the girls asked and you looked at them and frowned.
“Umm…-”
“You don’t look like you go to the gym.” The other cut you off.
“What is that supposed to mean?” You asked.
“Well how did you get a session with Iwaizumi, we’ve been trying for months.” The first girl complained, they both looked you up and down before one of them laughed.
“Are you planning to bribe him?” She smirked and you frowned before your hands tightened around his lunch sensing that they were up to something, you could see her hand lifting but before anything could happen the man of the hour called out to you.
“Thanks for bringing this for me sweetheart.” You looked at him and smiled, standing to walk over and meet him halfway, hoping to get away from the girls in front of him but they had other plans, one of them stepping forward and knocking you off balance, you fell forward doing your best to make sure that Iwa’s lunch stayed in tacked. Iwa rushed over to you, taking the lunch from you and putting it to the side.
“Oh my god are you okay?” One of the girls stepped forward.
“Leave.” Iwa ordered as he pulled you up to sit.
“What?” She asked.
“You and your friend leave, find another gym to use.” He ordered before turning his attention to you, tipping your head up to see if there was any damage to you.
“Is your lunch okay?” You asked as he sat you back on the bench and started cleaning a small cut on your cheek.
“I don’t care about the lunch, I care about you, did you know those girls?” He asked.
“No, they said that they’ve been trying to get a session with you for months and they were angry because they thought that you were doing a session with me.” You shrugged.
“Mmm.” He hummed. “All fixed up.” He pressed a bandaid to your face before kissing where the small cut was.
“Thank you.” You smiled.
“No problem, my love.” He said as you both stood up as you attempted to step around him he wrapped an arm around you “I’ll make up for this when I get him later.”

Kotaro Bokuto
🦉 Bo had been training hard for this match for months and the least you could do was go and support him, the stadiums were loud and crowded so you didn’t often find yourself there.
🦉 When you told Bo that you were going to be there, he was over the moon, he would not stop talking about it and even asked you to wear his shirt from last season so that he would be able to see you in the crowd.
🦉 To his credit he did see you as soon as you sat down, he waved at you before blowing you a kiss, you waved back pretending to catch the kiss and put it to your cheek.
🦉 That was where the problems came, it caught the attention of a group of girls who were clearly fans of Bo or the Jackals in general because they were standing in front of you within seconds.
“Where’d you get that top?” One of them asked, you glanced at them for a second before answering.
“From my boyfriend.” You answered as you tried to look around them to see the court, when you did, you actually couldn’t see him anymore and frowned, your attention drawn back to them when one of them nudged you in the shoulder.
“We ask you a question.” The first one glared at you folding her arms across her chest.
“Sorry, what did you ask?” You asked through gritted teeth as you tried not to start a fight at the match the Bo had been working so hard for.
“Do you know that’s fake?” She asked. “There’s no way that your boyfriend could have gotten the real shirt from that season.”
“What makes you say that?” You asked, leaning back in your chair.
“They didn’t sell any merch for that season, there’s nothing that looks like that made officially for fans.” You honestly thought that you had left this behind when you left school, you had been dating Bo for a long time and it’s not like you kept it a secret, he had trouble keeping his camera off of you, you were all over his social media.
“Babe!” You heard him yell before he came bouncing into your view with his phone “it’s time for my pre-game picture.”
“Don’t you usually take that with your team?” You asked, raising an eyebrow.
“Yeah but you're here today, I wanna take it with you.” He smiled as he sat in the chair next to you pulling you against him “smile baby owl.” You smiled at the camera and he snapped the picture standing up to cage you into the chair that you were sitting on.
“What are you doing?” You asked for a small smile on your face.
“I’m just making sure you're okay.” He answered.
“I’m fine I’m just trying not to start a fight before your match, I want to see you win.” You smiled bringing your hand up to gently caress his cheek. “So get back down there so you can win.”
“Alright babe.” He pressed a kiss to your lips “make sure that you cheer for me when I win.”
“Make sure you win.” You winked before pressing another quick kiss to his lips before he ran off, the girls that were there weren’t anymore in fact when you saw them a couple of rows over it seemed like they could even keep eye contact with you.

AOBA JOHSAI GYM
"Okay, break!" yelled Iwaizumi. The boys were already well past their actual break, but the captain apparently hadn't seen fit to release the players for their water break.
The brown-haired setter literally ran to his sports bag, which for once was next to his water bottle, to text you that he had completely forgotten about your date and if he could make up for it this weekend.
When he turned on his phone, he directly saw your 0:27 voice message at the top of his notifications.
He tapped it, entered his PIN and played the message immediately.
"Listen Oikawa. I'm tired of getting dumped over and over again. This is the FIFTH time THIS month alone that you just don't show up for our dates. It's-" your voice was interrupted by another, louder and deeper.
"(Y/nn), are you coming? The movie is about to start," Kageyama called, probably, from a little further away.
"Yes, just a moment Tobio!" you shout, "It's over. I don't want to hear from you anymore. Don't call me, don't text me, don't come to Karasuno, and if we ever meet again, pretend we don't know each other and I don't exist!"
Only now did Tōru see that the image next to your name consisted only of the gray icon. (Y/n) blocked me, fuck!
The brown-haired man stared at his phone. Even after minutes, he didn't take his eyes off your chat. And when his phone went off, his gaze was like locked with his device.
After minutes of silence, Iwaizumi wondered why his best friend did not give the usual speech and then sent the team back to play. Therefore, he told the boys that they were allowed to overstay their break today and best to sit out, after all, the weather was quite nice for mid-November.
The players didn't complain, because normally Oikawa didn't give them an extra long break and made the training extra hard. They all knew it was for their own good. Without the captain's efforts, they would never have gotten as far as they did.
So while they were going out, Iwaizumi made his way over to Tōru, who was still staring at the screen of his phone.
"What's wrong, Shittykawa?" wordlessly, the brown-haired man turned his cell phone back on and played the message one more time. Iwaizumi couldn't help but laugh.
"That's not funny, Iwa! I really liked them," he narrowed his eyes in offense.
"You didn't," Iwaizumi rolled his eyes. Who is he trying to foul?
"Sure I do!!"
"No, if you really liked, or loved them as much as you claim, you would never have treated them like that. No one treats someone they love with as little respect and seriousness as you did," said his best friend with a serious voice and an equally serious look.
"That's not true at all!" he muttered.
"Of course that's true," Iwaizumi laughed again, he just couldn't stay serious. The vice-captain actually liked you quite a bit. You didn't deserve to be treated like that by the boy in front of him.
"You just left them to Kageyama like that. If you'd had even an ounce of feeling for (y/n), this never would have happened!"
And then something clicked in Oikawa's head. Maybe you weren't as important to him as he thought. Maybe he only wanted you because it was obvious that Kageyama had a crush on you since the first grade of middle school. He had only started something with you because he wanted to hurt Kageyama, but he hadn't managed to do that. Again, he lost to the annoying, blue-haired king of the court.
"And if they really mean as much to you as you just claimed, then stick to what they said and let them be happy with Tobi. You know they had a crush on him in middle school, they probably still do to this day."
Again, it clicked. And this click was much worse. His eyes grew huge as the realization hit him. He had only been a substitute, a substitute for Kageyama Tobio.

GUITARIST !
summary: when reader’s band plays an important concert, oikawa tells his girlfriend that there’s no chance he could get back to japan, but the truth is that there’s no thing that could stop tooru from being with his significant other in the day as important as her concert.
notes: oikawa tooru x guitarist!reader, fem!reader, long distance established relationship, also oikawa being a shitty boyfriend. good friend!iwaizumi. mentions of drinking, swear words, frustrated hajime. not proofread kinda angsty also, hurt/comfort
you’ve known that for oikawa, his career would be always on the first place, his significant other following right after. and saying that you were completely fine with the situation would be… a small exaggeration. you couldn’t argue with that, you never could, so you pretended like being paid less attention to that practices wasn’t such a big deal everyone was telling you. but a part of you were incredibly hurt when your boyfriend of five years told you it was impossible to bail a few practices to be there at your concert in tokyo.
your small band was supposed to be a support, and a starter for a bigger one from the united kingdom. organizing the whole thing was way more of a challenge than you anticipated, since you were some sort of leader you had to do it on your own. contacting the other band, which wasn't the hardest part as you already knew the members, then the organizators, the management, the place where the event was supposed to happen at. if it wasn’t for iwaizumi who kept you on track with people you already called to, you wouldn’t be sane.
and because you’ve been working under heavy pressure, you got distant from your boyfriend, not answering his calls nor texts, replying with short sentences, but you were too busy to catch a breath or eat a proper meal instead of an instant ramen during breaks at studio. and well, oikawa got worried when the only source of information was hajime, not you.
one evening, when your bandmates and friends decided on taking a break and going out to celebrate such a big success of your work, you drank a little too much, that’s what hajime told you the following day. he drove you to his place, when your legs got too wobbly to function due to how much alcohol you pour in your mouth. he would sit you on the couch in his living room, and as if it was for the soft fabric of the furniture, you burst out crying.
“i hate it.” you let out quietly, your face hidden in the crock of iwaizumi’s neck. “i know he’s- he’s happy there, but i want him back. can’t he be a volleyball player here? like everyone else?” your sobs made your friend’s heart tear into pieces, his hand caressing your back gently to calm you. “throughout the entire three years he’s been there i’ve seen him twice, twice, haji. i miss him being here, he missed almost everything! my graduation, the party when i got accepted to the university of my dreams, his nephew’s first important game. and he won’t be able to see me on that stupid stadium.”
when oikawa left to argentina, you’ve already been in a long distance relationship, but because of you. you were granted an exchange to one of the best high schools with music programme in the uk. you couldn’t deny an offer like that, but it made you bit goodbyes with tooru almost a year earlier than you expected. since then, you saw him twice, one on your twenty birthday, and the second time on christmas next year.
it was exhausting. and when he told you, he wouldn’t make it to your show, you felt ruined. it was the only thing you’d pray for — for him to see you on a stage, opening a concert so important for you, your friends and bandmates. you never told him how you felt, never brought the topic again yourself, like your band never existed. it seemed too painful to speak about it out loud.
iwaizumi didn’t even bother trying to explain his other best friend. there were no words that could do such a thing. even though oikawa tooru has been his friend for longer, you were the one on the verge of breaking down whenever his topic was brought up, and hajime had to have a one on one with his friend.
so when you finally passed out from exhaustion and probably dehydration since you shredded so many tears that you could’ve filled up at least three huge bathtubs, the man covered up with a blanket and called oikawa, who already bombarded your phone with his calls.
“you’re so dead shittykawa.” he began, almost being interrupted by a confused what? coming from the other side of the phone. “i have your girlfriend sleeping on my sofa after a half an hour of crying, because her boyfriend seems like he doesn’t care about anything but his sport career, when for example hinata or ushiwaka are in japan every two or three months.
yet your girlfriend still thinks it’s okay to be treated like that, saying that’s what she signed up for five years ago. no, don’t even start on her becoming distant. she works her ass off trying to make you feel proud even though you won’t even see her perform in real life, you won’t be a part of her fucking dream just because volleyball is more important than your own fucking girlfriend.” he was furious, spitting out words, he would probably regret if he didn’t see how much in pain his best friend was.
“she doesn’t talk to me, iwa. what am i supposed to do? she doesn’t even answer my calls or texts. i wish i was there with you all, but volleyball is equally important to me, you know it. don’t make me the bad one.” oikawa sighed, rubbing his face with his hand.
“i know your career is significant, and i’m happy you’re chasing your dreams or some shit, but i’ve had enough of seeing your girlfriend, who you says you love endlessly, cry her tears out because you can’t get a few more days off and fly here. i don’t care what you’re gonna do, but i want to see you in two weeks at the airport or, you believe me, i’ll be the one who’s gonna convince y/n to dump your ass and find somebody who won’t neglect her.”
“hajime, i already have the tickets.” oikawa sighed, revealing the surprise for you. “i wanted to surprise her, i know i’ve been a shitty boyfriend and i wanted to see her, see all of you.”
“i don’t regret anything i said.” iwaizumi confessed, getting back inside. “if you let her down like that again, i’ll be the first one to suggest the idea of breaking up with you.” he claimed, and before tooru could add anything, he just hung up, taking a seat next to you.
the next two weeks were the most stressful ones for you, throughout your entire musician career. you, semi, konoha and hanako, a friend of yours, had barely left the studio you were rehearsing in. matsun and makki, your roommates, got even more worried when you became lifeless like a ghost.
at the final rehearsal before the show started, you weren’t even paying attention to the people that stand next to the stage, excitement took over you (especially when you finally slept enough hours and ate a proper meal), but then you caught eye contact with someone, and you felt like you were hallucinating. you immediately jumped off the stage, running towards the boy who just stood there smiling at you with the smile that never failed to make your knees weak.
“you’re here.” you spoke out, not believing your eyes. “you came.” you added softly. and then you took a swung at him, punching him in the chest, making your boyfriend grimace in pain, while the rest of your band laughed. “don’t think i forgave you for coming here once a year and a half. but i’m happy you’re here.”
when the show started your eyes were fixated on your boyfriend who stood at the front with all of your friends, matsun, makki, and iwaizumi, vibing and swinging their bodies to the tunes of your songs. oikawa locked eyes with you, grinning as wide as he could, thanking god he could see you there, on such a big stage in a place like this.
first person you saw after getting to the backstage was your boyfriend with a bouquet of your favorite flowers, and a smile plastered on his lips. “you were amazing, with every second i’ve felt more and more enchanted. god, i love you so much.”
you pulled him into a kiss by the cotton of his collar, the first one you had since last year. you almost forgot how his touch worked on you. “i love you. i love you so much.” you mumbled into his lips before pulling away. “please, don’t leave me for so long anymore.”
“i won’t, baby. i can guarantee you that.”

— STEPPING BACK WHEN THEY LEAN OVER TO KISS YOU haikyuu
ft. tetsuro kuroo, toru oikawa, yu nishinoya, hajime iwaizumi
cw. teasing, pda.
a/n. hiiii, this is my first haikyuu one shot in there welp. i hope you enjoy it
— TETSURO KUROO
tetsuro is used to kiss you every time before a match. he says that it brings him some luck. in a few minutes, he was gonna have a match against karasuno and he was talking with you while admiring your attractive features. “kuroo, get your ass there, we’re gonna start getting ready” kenma called for your boyfriend which makes his attention switch up from you to his team. “hold up” the black haired replies to his friend, who was getting impatient.
“gotta go angel, wish me good luck” he says as he steps closer to you. “good luck tetsu” you say with a smile. he leans over to kiss you, but before he could even reach your lips, you step back. it makes him kiss the air and when he realizes he wasn’t kissing you. you could hear some laughs coming from his teammates which makes you chuckle in amusement. “oh yeah? you wanna play this game? we’ll see who’ll be laughing tomorrow after being unable to walk” the black haired grumbles.
he grabs your face to pull it closer to yours as he coldly says “don’t play these games with me” making you smile innocently. he stares into your innocent stare for a long second when he finally decides to press his lips against yours. “if i lose this match, i’ll blame it on you for not giving me a proper good luck kiss” he says as he joins his team. you chuckle and as the match announces its start, you yell “TETSURO” which makes him lose his attention to his game to look at you. “i love you, good luck” you say innocently as he misses his ball.
— TORU OIKAWA
everyday, you bring a homemade snack for your boyfriend toru and he loves them. you always give them to him at lunch, when you eat with him and iwaizumi. but today, iwaizumi was sick, therefore, he was absent. so it was just the two of you. “awe, it’s pretty lame without iwa” you complained sighing. “oh so you’re saying i’m boring?” your boyfriend asks offended leaning closer to your face.
“maybe” you reply in a teasing tone as you grimace. he pouts staring into your eyes upset as you chuckle. he switches up his attention from your eyes to your lips. he leans closer closing his eyes about to kiss you, but before he could even do it, you move back which makes him fall on. his face meets your thighs from the big distance you kept between your face’s. his eyes widen when his eyes meet your pants’ zip which makes his face turn red. “hey what was that?” he asks backing off looking flustered.
“nothing” you reply innocently. he pushes you over on the ground holding your wrist pinning them beside your head. “don’t reject my kisses” he says biting his inner cheek. “sorry” you say as he leans closer to kiss you. without hesitation, you kiss him back which makes him smile into the kiss.
— YU NISHINOYA
yu is shorter than you, so it’s pretty hard for him to reach you while trying to kiss you, therefore, he puts a lot of love and affection in his kisses, as well of some effort. at the moment, he had to leave you behind since daichi and suga had forced him to get into studying for his next exam. getting spammed with messages of the both of them for why he was late, he sighs and says “sorry (y/n). i got to go”
“oh, then bye noya!” you say with a smile hiding how sad you were at the idea of him leaving. you both get up as he gets on his tippie toes to be able to kiss, but you step back. he ends up falling on you from losing control of his balance. “ow! what was that for?!?” your boyfriend whines out. “my way to show you how upset i am at you leaving” you say pouting.
he sighs and gets back up. you look down at him upset when he pulls you towards himself by grabbing your collar. he presses his lips on yours for a long 2 minutes before saying “you know i don’t wanna leave you behind. if you want, you can join our studying” then he smiles. you stay quiet unsure if you should accept his offer or not, but you end up saying yes as you smile.
— HAJIME IWAIZUMI
hajime and you are at the very moment watching a movie together at your house, in the living room, cuddling on the couch. he has his arms wrapped around you as you had your head laid back against his chest. his warm hugs were able to comfort you during the sad parts of the movie and to support you when you felt lonely watching some romantic parts.
the movie finally ended when iwa leans over your face to kiss you, but you back off his arms to lean over on the table having as goal to grab the tv remote. this makes your boyfriend’s eyes widen as he says “hey, what are you doing?” as he looks at you leaning back with the remote on your hand. “turning off the tv” you said as you press the on and off button.
he sighs then grabs your face to press his lips against yours. “i thought you were running away from my kiss” he mumbles against your lips while slightly moving away to be able to talk. you smile amused as he presses his on yours again.

pairing: oikawa x fem!black reader
synopsis: oikawa teaches Y/n to serve
word count: 521
type: one-shot
a/n: i sorta kin oikawa lmao. also have a love/hate relationship with him.
Y/n had just finished her bowl of cereal when there was a knock on the door. She knew it could only be one person. Before she could answer, Oikawa walked right in. He plopped himself down in the chair next to her on the kitchen island. "Y/n-chan are your parents home?" She shook her head. "Great. Let's go out." He began tugging her hand. "Out where? I need to get dressed." He looked her up and down and noticed she was still in pajamas.
"Let me pick out your outfit," his eyes filled with glee. She reluctantly agreed and trailed behind as he waltzed to her bedroom. Having being over so many times he practically knew the house's layout. He went straight for her closet while she sat on the bed. "I'll pick something light because of what we're doing." "What exactly are we doing?" "That's for me to know and you to find out," he replied in that playful tone of his.
He picked out a simple t-shirt with a variety of butterflies on it and some jogging shorts. "Hopefully no one else will be there," he muttered as she changed in the other room. Once she was finished she did a little twirl and they were on their way. "Gonna tell me where we're going now?" "To play volleyball of course." Of course they were.
"I don't know how to play," she remarked. "I'm just teaching you to serve. Since I'm the best youth server in all of Japan." They finally reached a park where there were various volleyball nets. "Is this where volleyball nerds hang out?" Y/n joked. He ignored her and retrieved a ball. "I'm going to demonstrate first, then I'll guide you through it." Y/n barely paid attention as he served a few times. All she could focus on was the rise and fall of his shirt exposing a bit of his v-line.
"Got that?" he asked. She nodded and went into position. He walked her through it and then stepped back so she could do it on her own. The first time it didn't even go over the net. Same with the second, and the third, and the fourth, and the fifth. Y/n was ready to give up, but Oikawa wasn't taking no for an answer. "We can get smoothies, but you gotta make it over the net." Y/n wasn't sure why he was pushing the idea so much. Eventually she got it over and Oikawa clapped.
"I didn't think you would ever be able to do it. Tomorrow we have to focus on receives," his brow furrowed. "This is a daily thing?" He smiled and winked, "Unless you don't want it to be of course. I had fun teaching you, even if you suck." "Keep winking and you'll have a crowd of fangirls." "So smoothies now? I know this really good place. Iwa showed me it once because he was sick of calling me. And that's so mean of him," Oikawa began to ramble. Y/n smiled to herself and gave her boyfriend a kiss on the cheek.

general oikawa headcannons
what's it? general headcannons allergen warning/s? n/a sugar level? 0.9k regulars? @hanayanetwork @tahonet @tokyometronetwork
bon appetit!
Tumblr media
♧ type to start snowball fights but can never win them. he's so insanely competitive at times, but much like with his matches with shiratorizawa when he was in high school, he can never seem to win them no matter how hard he tried.
♧ the type to tell his friends to treat him to some ramen, but when they get to the restaurant that serves the best ramen in town and said friend pulls out their wallet to pay for both of their food, he immediately freezes and tells them they were just joking. he hates it when other people spend money on him. if they do though, he's going to order the cheapest thing on the menu.
♧ feels accountable for so much that whenever he's with someone he trusts and his walls are down and he bumps into an inanimate object, just the refrigerator in his house, he'll automatically apologize before the heat rushes up to his cheeks because he just apologized to something that isn't even alive.
♧ speaking of oikawa when he's with people he trusts, his mood goes a whole 180°. his fangirls only know the cool and calm oikawa so the seijoh third years often wonder if those girls will like him the same when they found out about dorky adorable oikawa (if those girls stop liking him, they don't deserve him 😤😤).
♧ he's pretty and he's not the most tough-looking and volleyball's not considered by some to be a "manly" sport so he's a victim of some backhanded comments of that nature. those never phase him though (the only thing that hurts him is his own self-deprecating thoughts and iwaizumi's headbutts but he's almost gotten used to those), he always manages to respond with something about no matter how that person thinks, he'll always get more girls than him (he's not a pig but he will throw that line when necessary lol).
♧ when he was younger, his red flag was his competitiveness. he hated it when someone's better than him which of course is not healthy in a relationship, but as he grows older, starts to really understand that other people are going to be better at him at some things, but at the same time, he's better than them are some and that's how life works and it's perfectly okay.
♧ lowkey gets inspired by iwaizumi all the time. like, all the time even after they've graduated high school. he'll never say it out loud, and he'll most certainly never say it to the man in question, but iwa probably already knows it. all of seijoh's third years sees the way oikawa looks at his best friend and the way he gets fired up when iwaizumi's fired up too.
♧ hums to himself while doing housework all the time. sometimes he's humming a song that's stuck in his head, something it's a completely made up one. no matter what it is, iwaizumi never feels annoyed by this, it even gives him a sense of comfort from the familiarity of it. 10/10 times will pretend to be annoyed with it tho
♧ used to be completely obsessed with those 2014 diy/grwm video or youtube channels (who wasn't tho. let's get real here). if he's not watching volleyball, he's secretly watched that. the colorfulness of it just catches his eye and while he didn't know it at the time, it's the asmr of those channels that got him so hooked -- the tearing of the paper, the soapy sounds produced by washing of hair, the sound of writing. it's all got him in a sleepy trance.
♧ he likes dancing, especially dances with a partner, but he honestly doesn't feel too comfortable doing that at school because of all of his obsessed fangirls. call him mean, but he doesn't want to do that with someone who's only in it so they can hold his hand. he wants someone who's actually focused at the task at hand, even if they weren't actually good at dancing, he doesn't mind.
♧ gets stuck into wikipedia rabbit holes more often than he'd like to admit. he doesn't mean to do it! it's just that one minute, he's watching a volleyball game, the next he's reading through an article about various philippine forklore.
♧ he's quite an organized person. uses a planner and all. the only disadvantage he sees with using those is whenever he has an especially busy day and he puts timestamps on each of his chores like 5:00-5:30 - go for a jog, 5:30-6:00 - shower and then, something unexpected comes up and he finds himself panicking because truthfully, he does well under pressure, but when he plans everything down to the wire and all of a sudden his plans go down the drain and has to be replanned? he might as well faint, honestly.
♧ has a stamp and postcard collection. he never uses it and honestly, doesn't plan on ever using it, but he just likes looking through them from time to time, thinking about what kind of letters would be nice to write on each.
♧ don't tell him this, but he spends an embarrassing amount of time wondering why all of the girls gravitate towards him and not to iwaizumi because have you seen that man?? like yeah, they're just friends, but that doesn't change the fact that his friend's gorgeous and oikawa's not blind.
♧ likes to put on clear nail polish to protect his nails. for some reason, after matches, and especially after longer, tougher matches, he noticed that his nails get scratched up a lot and he hated that. he hates how it feels, how it looks, everything. so he started to put some clear protective nail polish to hopefully stop it from getting scraped.

Haikyuu Imagine idea, this time it is for Oikawa.
—————————————
-Imagine you’re dating Oikawa, you know the big hot shot setter/captain from Aoba Johsai. The one everyone talks about and wants to be like. The one who has so much potential to become the greatest setter of all time. The one who makes you laugh and smile whenever you’re two are together.
-The one who has so many girls fan girling over him, simping for him. Girls who sit there and make heart eyes at Oikawa, it gets under skin but you don’t let it bother you to much. Because you know he has his eyes and heart for you. Oh and of course for volleyball.
-Well, you go to watch one of Aoba Johsai’s matches, you’re wearing Oikawa’s sports jacket. The first one since he got another one. Because he told coach he lost his, but coach knows where it went. Mean he sees you in it all the time. But coach doesn’t mind, as long as his setter is in his best mood and at his best.
-You calmly sit in the stands and watch them warm up, but all you can hear his girls cheering for your man. Calling his name out, to the point you can’t sit there anymore so you leave and go to the hallway. Heck, you want to just leave. Before you make it out the door, you feel a familiar grip on your wrist.
-A hand that is soft but rough at the same time. You look up to see Oikawa. “Toru, you need to go back and practice. You have a match”. You say up to your tall boyfriend. Oikawa just pulls you to the side to talk to you. “I can’t knowing my number one fan and supporter is upset. Babe, forget what those other girls say and do when I play. All that matters is if you are in the stands”. He said.
-Oikawa takes a breath. “I don’t care about them, sure I enjoy the support, but they aren’t you. They don’t help me practice. They don’t help me do what I can to be at my best. They don’t keep me happy like you can”. He explains.
-You look up at him with soft eyes and smile. “They don’t know you like I do” you whisper. Oikawa smiles and kisses your forehead. “I love you, y/n”, you add “I love you to Toru”.
-Oikawa smiles and said “Lets get back before Iwaizumi finds me”. You look past his shoulder and gulp, “Uhh babe, it’s too late”. You say. The two of you both look to see Iwaizumi glaring at Oikawa with a ball in hand. “Get your ass back in here Oikawa and practice before I make you”. He said.

𝓣he sun shone brightly, casting its golden rays upon the sandy beaches of the sleepy coastal town. As the waves crashed against the shore, the air was filled with the salty scent of the ocean. This was the summer everything changed for 2 young teens. The oppressive heat of the summer hung in the air, mirroring the weight on Oikawa's heart. Freshly wounded from a recent breakup, he found himself aimlessly driving through the coastal beaches, desperate to escape the suffocating memories. The flickering gas station sign offered a glimmer of respite, and he decided to pull over, hoping that a brief pit stop would bring a momentary distraction.
As he stepped out of his car, he noticed a girl leaning against a vintage motorcycle, a carefree smile gracing her lips, her eyes covered with red heart shaped sunglasses.. She exuded an air of confidence and style, effortlessly combining edginess with a touch of playfulness. Her glasses are a vibrant shade of crimson, perfectly accentuating her fair complexion. The frames are sleek and glossy, showcasing a contemporary design that draws immediate attention. The lenses, tinted in a subtle gradient, create an aura of mystery, hinting at the untold adventures she has embarked on with her motorcycle.
Their eyes met for a fleeting second, a spark of curiosity kindling within them both.
Oikawa approached the gas pump, pretending to focus on refueling, but his mind was drawn to the girl by the motorcycle. A surge of courage propelled him to strike up a conversation. "Nice bike," he said, attempting to sound casual.
Y/N smirked, her eyes glinting with mischief. "Thanks. It's my trusty companion on the road. What brings you here, stranger?"
He shrugged, a melancholic smile tugging at his lips. "Just trying to escape reality for a bit, I guess. The road seems like a good place to lose yourself."
She nodded, understanding glimmering in her eyes. "I get it. Sometimes, you just need to wander and let life surprise you. Want to join me for a bit? An adventure might do you some good."
Oikawa hesitated, his mind grappling with conflicting emotions. He saw in Y/N the possibility of a summer fling, a temporary distraction to mend his broken heart. He convinced himself that it was what he needed, a way to forget about his ex.
"My name's Oikawa Tooru, what's your name, pretty lady?" He said confidently. Y/N laughed at his attempt.
"It's Y/N by the way." She said turning around to start the engine on her motorcycle.
As they rode into the sunset, the wind tousling their hair, they laughed and shared stories. Days melted into nights, and the chemistry between them grew undeniable. They explored hidden corners of the countryside, chasing the thrill of spontaneous adventures. But amidst their laughter, Y/N's eyes held a glimmer of something deeper, a flicker of hope that Oikawa couldn't quite grasp.
One evening, as they sat under a starlit sky, their laughter filled the air. Y/N's eyes glimmered with affection as she turned to Oikawa. "You know, Oikawa, there's something about this summer that feels different. It's as if the universe conspired to bring us together."
He leaned in closer, his heart stirring with a mix of intrigue and caution. "What do you mean, Y/N? Are you saying this isn't just a summer fling for you?"
Y/N averted her gaze, a hint of vulnerability creeping into her voice. "You're right, I'm sorry, I know this was just a summer fling and that you're trying to get over your ex but-." Y/N's walls began to crumble as she started to fumble with her words. Her 'cool girl' persona was falling apart by the second.
Oikawa's heart swayed with conflicting emotions. He reached out, gently lifting her chin to meet his gaze. "Y/N, I didn't expect to find someone like you on this journey. And maybe I'm not ready for something serious just yet, but that doesn't mean what we have isn't special. Let's enjoy this summer, this connection we share, for as long as it lasts."
A smile tugged at the corners of Y/N's lips, her eyes shining with a mix of tenderness and uncertainty. "Alright, Oikawa. Let's make the most of this summer. No expectations, just living in the moment."
Days turned into weeks, and their bond deepened with every passing adventure. They danced beneath moonlit skies, shared secrets under starry nights, and reveled in the simplicity of stolen kisses and laughter. Yet, beneath Y/N's carefree demeanor, a part of her dared to hope for something more, for a love that could endure beyond the sun-soaked days
But as summer began to fade, the specter of Oikawa's ex loomed in the corners of his thoughts. Doubts gnawed at his heart, and the longing for what he had lost intensified. It cast a shadow over the summer they had shared, and he wondered if his heart truly belonged to his past. His thoughts drifted back to his past, to a love he couldn't let go.
In the quiet of that final summer night, Oikawa found himself overwhelmed by conflicting emotions. "Y/N, I've had an incredible time with you. You've brought me so much joy, but I... I need to go back to my ex. I can't shake the memories, the feelings I still have for her."
A bittersweet ache tugged at Y/N's chest as she listened to his words. She had known deep down that their fling had an expiration date, but a part of her had hoped that what they shared was enough to keep him by her side. Y/N's face remained composed, but a profound sadness flickered in her eyes. "I understand, Oikawa. I knew deep down that this would end. I wanted to believe that what we had was special, that it meant something more. But I can't deny that it hurts. I knew from the beginning that this was temporary. I wanted to believe it was enough, that what we had was special. But I can't deny that my heart hoped for more."
Regret washed over Oikawa as he reached out to touch her hand, his voice laced with remorse. "You deserve someone who can give you their whole heart, Y/N. I wish I could be that person, but right now, I can't."
She nodded, a hint of vulnerability slipping through her facade. "I understand, Oikawa. We had our moments, our bittersweet memories. Just promise me you'll find happiness, even if it's not with me."
They sat in silence, the weight of unspoken words hanging in the air. The summer nights grew shorter, the magic fading with each passing day. And when the time came to say goodbye, Oikawa felt a twinge of longing for what might have been.
As he drove away, the memories of that summer fling lingered like whispers in the wind. The bittersweet taste of their time together would forever remain etched in both their hearts, a reminder of the road not taken. And though he returned to his ex, a part of him would forever wonder what could have blossomed if he had chosen a different path, if he had embraced the warmth of Y/N's affection and let go of the past. And as Y/N continued her nomadic journey, she carried the summer they shared, forever etched in her heart, a testament to the fleeting beauty of love and the significance of a bittersweet goodbye.

{~Morning After the Fight~}
Oikawa x Reader
____________________________________________
"Morning, sleepyhead.." Oikawa places a gentle kiss on your forehead. "I made you breakfast."
You turn away from him, still mad at him about the fight you had the previous night. You pull the covers over your head, shielding his pretty face and the morning sun from your sight.
Your boyfriend sighs. "Sweetheart, I already said I was sorry..!" He whines, taking the covers off of your sleepy face. You don't budge at all. He sighs again, gently tucking a strand of hair behind your ear. "C'mon, honey.. I'm sorry." He whispers in your ear, caressing your cheek.
"Go away." You push his hand away, facing the wall. He stops for a moment, holding your hand. He then gently leans down to your ear, whispering.
"Honey, sweetheart, baby, love, my one and only, love of my life.. Pleeeeeaaaase! I already said I was sorry." Oikawa whines, acting like a big baby. "I'll keep bugging you until you forgive me." He waits for an answer. "Y/n, y/n, y/n, y/n, y-"
You cover his mouth with your hand. "Toru, stop.." You sigh, turning to face him. You stare into his loving eyes. As you stare into his kind, sweet eyes, you forget all about the fight. He's too perfect to be mad at forever. "I forgive you." You say with a soft smile. "I'm sorry for the things I said.. I love you. You know that, right?"
Oikawa nods with a smile. "I know. And I love you too, my dear. Now, let's eat that breakfast I made, shall we?" He smiles happily.
You chuckle. "Did you burn the food again?" You ask teasingly.
"Maybe." He smiles sheepishly.

Where - Oikawa Toru x GN! Reader
A/N: This is a part of my new series “The Big Questions”. As a side note, they are all stand-alone fics, not related to each other, just connected through the idea of them each being based off of the prompts “Who, What, Where, When, Why, and How”
TW: Hurt/Comfort, Fluff, Slight swearing
Tumblr media
The convenience store 2 blocks from your house had always been a special place to you. Especially since that was where you’d always meet your best friend.
Who was also your biggest annoyance.
You’d known Oikawa Toru since the two of you were in elementary. Your mom and his were friends with each other and both your older sisters became best friends when they were little.
Which meant that your families hung out together a lot, whether it was your sister babysitting you two so Oikawa’s sister could come over too, or visa verse, it resulted in you two coming into contact a lot.
Eventually, the two of you got older and would get tired of the older siblings and adults, and would wonder off. In the beginning, you two were only allowed out a half-block past the house. But as you both grew, that distance got wider, until eventually, in your 2nd year of middle school, you were allowed as far as the convenience store.
You two would hang out there all the time. It was where you would get every celebratory ice-cream after Oikawa’s victories, and where you would go whenever you needed a cheap bowl of ramen after failing a test.
The store employees all knew you and Oikawa by name, and would ask where the other was if only one of you came in.
It was your store. Yours and his. It would always be that way.
-
“I said one ice-cream, not ten!” you exclaimed, seeing the setter with his arms full of assorted frozen desserts.
“But I couldn’t choose! I’ll share some with you if you like!” he said, trying his best to sound like a little kid.
You shook your head. “Nope. I will get you...”
You stop to grab a random treat from his arms,
“This one. There, I made the decision for you, now put the rest back.”
The brunette pouted again, but you were having none of it.
“No. That’s not working on me, ToTo.” you stated firmly.
“Hey! Don’t call me that!”
“Then stop acting like a child and put the rest of that back before it melts and I have to pay for all of it!” you shot back.
Begrudgingly, the teen put back all the sweets he’d procured, walking back to you with a huff.
“You could’ve at least gotten 2 or 3 of them...” he muttered, just loud enough for you to hear.
“Hell no. If I let you eat that many sweets before a game, Iwa will have my head.” you stated, shivering at the thought of gaining Iwaizumi’s ire.
Iwaizumi Hajime had become your friend soon after you met him. He was able to put up with Toru’s bullshit and help keep him in line, and you respected the hell out of him for it. Was he sometimes a bit too harsh? Sure, but Oikawa kind of deserved it, seeing as he could be a real ass when he wanted to be.
The brunette beside you seemed to get a chill up his spine at the thought of Iwa getting upset with him.
“Nevermind! One is plenty!” the tall male stated, having changed his tune after being remind of his teammate’s temper.
“Good.” you said, glad to have him on the same page.
After getting your drink and Oikawa’s ice-cream, you made your way to school. Toru had a match the next day against Karasuno, and it was a big one.
“I am going to destroy that stupid little prodigy and his shrimp.” Oikawa seethed, suddenly looking serious.
“Him and that dumb little shorty are not getting in my way. I’m going to win against Ushiwaka, if it’s the last thing I do.”
You snorted, breaking Toru out of his focus.
“What’s so funny?” he asked, offended by your laughter.
“It’s just you. I’m not used to seeing you so serious off the court. It’s a bit funny, especially when you’re holding a strawberry ice-cream in your hands while giving a death glare to the sidewalk.” you chuckled.
“I can be serious!” Oikawa shouted, sounding like a petulant child.
You laughed again. “Yeah, and pigs have wings.”
Toru huffed, turning and walking away from you like the drama queen he was.
He would never admit it, but Toru liked how you never gave into his shit. You never fell for his tricks or charms, and it was refreshing. He could be himself with you. You and Iwaizumi were the only people he didn’t have to worry about letting down or disappointing. Sure, he loved the praise and the limelight, but the rest of the world just liked his face, skill, and fell for his charisma (though he couldn’t blame them).
Which was why he loved going to the convenience store with you, occasionally having Iwa tag along. It was like a second home. The shelves of snacks that you and he had tried all of; the smell of freshly made food for the hot case; even the chill that always came from the freezer section, it was all so familiar and comfortable. He knew he could always rely on lifting his spirits there, especially if you were beside him.
That was...until he lost to Karasuno and lost his chance to go up against Shiratorizawa.
You were there for the game with your big sister who was in town. You’d seen the whole thing.
Your first instinct had been to rush to Toru and Hajime and hug them as tight as you could until the tears came down... but you held back.
You knew that trying to console them now would be hard. Oikawa hadn’t seen you there, and you had planned to surprise him and Iwa after they won, like saying ‘I say the whole thing! You guys were amazing!’
But you knew if they found out that, on top of losing, you were also there and saw the whole game, it would likely just hurt their prides.
So, you stayed back, waiting until they were out of the double doors of the gymnasium. Slowly, you and your sister made your way back to her car. You caught a glimpse of the Aoba Josei team, but quickly pulled your sibling further into the crowd before any of the team could spot you.
You went home that night, tired and teary eyed as you laid on your bed.
You knew how much Toru and Iwa had practiced and worked for the chance to play against Ushiwaka again, and how much beating Karasuno meant to them, especially Oikawa. You were heartbroken for them.
Knock Knock Knock
That was weird. Who would be visiting your house at this hour? Your parents were out on a date night and your sister was staying at a hotel.
You grabbed a heavy flashlight and your phone before carefully walking down the stairs to the front door.
Knock Knock
There came the same sound again. You slowly peeked outside the door only to see...
“Hey.”
It was Toru.
He looked awful
He was dressed in black jogging pants, a plain white t-shirt with a blue hoodie jacket, and his favorite pair of adidas sandals. His eyes were a bit red and puffy, as was his nose.
“Hey, you don’t look great. You wanna come in?” you asked hesitantly, knowing he was still upset about the match but not wanting to let on that you knew, but also not wanting to remind him of it by making him say why he was upset.
“Actually, you mind walking with me to the store? It’s kind of late and I don’t want to get stabbed.” Oikawa says, letting out a half-hearted laugh and a forced smile. He was trying to hide the pain.
You gave a half-smile in return.
“Sure.”
You quickly wrote a note for your parents about where you were going, and walked outside, sliding the front door closed.
After a few minutes of unusually awkward silence, you finally speak up just as the convenience store comes into view.
"So... did you wanna talk or someth-”
“I saw you.” the brunette says. There’s no doubt or hesitance. Its not a question, it’s a stating of a fact.
“What do you mean?” you ask, trying to play dumb.
“I saw you dragging your sister through the crowd after the match. I’d know you both anywhere.” he stated.
You sighed, knowing that the jig was up.
“How much of the game did you see?” he asked, not looking at you.
“All of it.” you say plainly. There was no point trying to deny it.
By the time the words leave your mouth, you both are at the entrance. Oikawa opens the door for you silently, which you step through and quietly thank him.
“So you saw everything?” he asked once inside and after nodding at the lone employee behind the counter who had looked up only to see you two and wave kindly before returning to their book.
“Yeah. I did.” you reply.
Oikawa then makes his way to the back of the store, over to his favourite corner which held his precious milk bread and was close to the freezer section filled with ice-cream.
You eye Toru as he remains quiet. His uncharacteristic sullenness being so foreign to you.
Without a sound, you come from behind and hug him.
You feel him freeze before his muscles relax and he turns around bend down and hug you properly.
You feel small drops of liquid soak into the fabric of your clothed shoulder, but don’t say anything. You just keep holding tightly to the boy before you. Eventually, his body gave in, and you both slowly descended to the floor, still embracing the other.
You hear his almost inaudible whimpers and you begin to pat his head gently, whispering words of encouragement.
“It’s ok. You did everything you could. You gave it everything you had. You did so well out there.” you said softly, hoping that you could bring the brown-eyed male some comfort.
It took a few minutes for the boy’s quiet sobs to die down. When they did, he pulled away, only to nuzzle back into your embrace as he re-encircled your form in his arms.
“You mind if we just stay here?” he asked, though it sounded more like a plea.
You chuckled a bit. “As in on the floor of the convenience store?”
Toru nodded. “Just for a bit longer. I like it here.” he stated in a gentle tone.
You smiled softly as you held him closer. “Me too.”
-THE END-
A/N: I was working on this on and off for a few months, and I swear, this gave me so much trouble at first, and now I’m finishing it, even though I have work first thing in the morning!! Anyway, hope you enjoyed and thank you for reading this!
