Sometimes i think about how so much of RWBY was probably inspired by Zelda. (Maybe not but I'm a hardcore zelda fan, and i will associate everything i like) and i love it bc it's not...too obvious? Like, you can clearly point out the similarities and even after noticing them you don't see RWBYs story as a copy or anything (bc this is probably a strech BUT I DONT CARE)

The two brothers /the spirits of the relics -> the three goddeses

The blacksmith / the brothers -> hylia

The two brothers represent different aspects of life and the world -> so do the brothers, they divide their work

The triforce -> the relics

Gathering all of them has very important and potentially horrible consequences but it also can be used for good -> both the triforce and the relics

The pieces by itself can grant some sort of power or effect on the wielder -> the pieces of the triforce represent the goddeses and grant powers (using the light power, super strength, being able to wield a legendary weapon) / each relic has it's own purpose

An innocent soul drunken by power who is also a victim of an ancient god-like entity who seeks reuniting all the pieces of the triforce/relics -> salem / ganondorf

Someone who ended up being cursed to live again and again and again, as a mortal inmortal being whose purpose is to stop the great evil that is threatening the world -> hylia / zelda and ozma

Hm, and somebody innocent who due to this original curse was thrown into all this mess, starting to aquire memories from years and years and decades and centuries before they were born that belong to someone that is merging with them so that innocent person becomes the next soul in the curse and has to stop this great evil because is their fate? -> zelda (skyward sword) and oscar I'm looking at you two

And you're telling me that there were lies and manipulation involved? -> zelda again and ozpin I'm looking at you both

And who did you involved in all this? A brave warrior with a heart of gold and a simple and peaceful background and life who ALSO HAPPENS to be gifted at fighting who carries something unique, the only thing capable of harming that great evil?? Hmmm... -> ruby, link, I'm looking at you both

And you're telling me that having that thing is not as easy as it seems and you need to unlock it and learn how to unleash it's true potential? -> maybe like the silver eyes? Or maybe the master sword?

And you're telling me that these two souls are bonded by fate to meet and have A LOT of pararells and they complement each other? -> ruby and oscar I'm looking at you

And you're telling me that their story resembles and is a pararell to the original story of lovers? -> ozma/Salem - ruby/Oscar and the first link/hylia -zelda/link

And you're telling me that the soul who merges with this magical ancient being also carries light themed magic? -> zelda? Oscar? Explain

AND YOU'RE TELLING ME THAT EVEN IF THERE'S A MAIN HERO, THEY CANNOT DO IT ALONE AND THEY NEED HELP?

Hmmm like RUBY AND ALL HER TEAMMATES AND LINK AND HIS COMPANIONS?

Oh, and you're also telling me that there are very important and powerful people who carry a fraction of the power of the gods? Like the maidens? Or like maybe the sages? (I'm not including the champions bc botw came out after rwby)

So yeah, there's some similarities. And i LOVE IT

Also i ship zelink and rosegarden and I CAN ASSURE YOU. THEY'RE THE SAME. SAME DYNAMIC, SAME VIBE, THEY'RE SO DEAR TO ME OH MY GOD.

After Oscar meets Whitley, he for once was glad he has the past live memory's with ozpin and a few others because he is a hopeless romantic and can't come up with any what he deems as good pickup lines or how to approach Whitley. RWBY/JNPR dnd classes!

ruby: monk? i feel like ruby is a monk? she’s fast, hits alot, and monks have some stranger weapons like bo staffs and stuff. i’d say she’s a kensei monk though, that scythe is pretty specialized, and she’s damn good with it.

yang: monk but way of the open hand. she likes punching people, is there anything wrong with that?

weiss: sorcerer. this i really like, sorcerers get their powers through being born with them, and glyphs are hereditary. i’d give her divine soul, even though it’s a bit too cleric for my taste, nothing else really fits her. plus she’s support,

blake: rogue. pretty obvious. don’t know if i’d prefer thief or assassin for her though. 

Jaune: Ok, so, here’s where things get weird. ability wise, he seems like a healer, so he should be cleric,  theme-wise, he lied his way into beacon, and technically doesn’t deserve the spot he got, which aligns with warlocks, who made deals with higher beings to get their powers. BUT, jaune isn’t nearly as, well, neutral enough to be a warlock, and he’s still a tank as well, so, what class gives both healing capabilities, tanking capabilities, and the theme of “gaining power through some type of bargain” paladins.  i’d give him oath of redemption, since that fits him the best ability wise and theme wise. he has his moments, but overall, i bet jaune would rather not fighting, then fighting. 

Nora: barbarian, all the way bby. i’d say she’s path of the storm herald, even though dessert/sea/tundra don’t really fit he Thor aesthetic, but hey, it’s dnd. flavor bby. plus there’s nothing else that really fit her. the only like, lightning themed subclass i can think of is a sorcerer subclass. 

Pyrrha: pyrrha is a fighter, specifically, pyrrha is a champion. insane critical chances, and phenomenal healing which makes her insanely hard to put down? sounds like pyrrha to me. 

ren: ren is strange, he’s not a sneak attacker, so i wouldn’t put him in rogue, but he’s got no really magical abilities besides detecting peoples emotions. but a good enough wisdom does that anyways, so, based on theme, i made him a battle master fighter. battle masters are built to control the battlefield, and with rens theme of control, he’d fit right in there. 

Bonus: oscar/ozpin

Oscar: a warlock, through and through. given powers by some strange entity? warlock. specifically, The Great Old One, and with a pact of the Tome. you gotta be magic if you’re to be an Ozma reincarnation. 

Ozpin. sorcerer. Clockwork soul. nuff said.

Who would you say has the most run ins with police of the RWBY × JSR AU?

If they're caught, are they able to get out of it? I can picture Oscar getting caught the first few times when he's learning how to skate, and maybe Ozpin has to bail him out, disappointed dad style? Haha

That would definitely happen. But he's "dissapointed" (aka, faking it when he's bailing him) but ozpin really doesn't mind since he was the same way when he was young!

RWBY discussion: Did Oscar lie already?

So in chapter 4 of volume 8, Salem says “lie spill out of you so easily” (or something to that effect) to Oscar. Which has me wondering, has Oscar already lied to his friends and we just don’t know about it?

Now what I’m saying isn’t that he lied about some thing super important, but rather something that doesn’t seem all that important (to him at lest) that he just kind of didn’t say. Like in chapter 1 of volume 8, Oscar neglects to tell them how he ended up down in the slums. By diverting the Conversation away from the topic; He didn’t necessarily lie but he also did not tell the truth.

Each incarnation is supposed to be very similar to Ozma, and if it is true that Ozma had a tendency to lie. It would be entirely believable that each incarnation would have some tendency to do so as well.

No I don’t have any proof that he has lied so far, this is just a discussion. The real question here is if he did lie what did he lie about; and would we have any idea at this point with that could possibly be?
