You’d always known Tendou was a freak in bed. Even before you two had begun dating, you had an inkling. With how unorthodox he was, anyone would’ve guessed he was less than vanilla under the sheets. What shocked them was when he got together with you.
You knew how you looked to the people of your university. Prim, proper, never a hair out of place, well-ironed clothes and clean smile, always early for class and always on top of your grades. What can you say? You were efficient.
So how had you ended up here? Dating the Guess Monster of all people? You heard the whispers follow you when Tendou walked you to class, the same class he had the gall to be skipping. You knew they wondered, and you knew that they had no idea just how similar you and Tendou actually were.
“I wish they could see you now, honey.” Tendou cooed in your ear as your body squirmed and jerked. His lean, surprisingly sturdy figure held you in place against the wall, long thin fingers wiggling inside you so carelessly that you were worried he would rip you apart. He hummed to himself right afterward in contemplation. “Well, they could very well see you. All they have to do is really look.”
And he was right, standing under the shadow of the staircase, it wouldn’t take much for the bustling crowd of students rushing through the halls to take a little breath and slow down, realizing that the huddle under the stairs was you pressed into the wall while your tall boyfriend fingered you fast and rough, his hand disappearing under the hem of your skirt.
You bit into Tendou’s shoulder to try and stifle your moans, bucking your hips into him more and more. You wanted to cum so bad, all rational thought had flown out the window long ago. You didn’t care who saw you at this point, the voices and chatter of the people long drowned out by the roaring in your ears. Tendou chuckled.
“Dirty little thing,” he had a teasing lilt to his voice. “You love this, don’t you? Getting fingered in public. Crying all over my hand. And you’re soaking, too. Way more than usual. Should I do this more often?”
You were panting at this point, breathing hard to try and compensate for your lack of moans. You were close, and Tendou could tell, from the slow stiffening of your body to how you pushed yourself closer to him, your movements getting more desperate.
“Or maybe I should drag you out there in front of everybody,” he mused, knowing what his dirty ramblings did to you, knowing they would push you closer to the end. “I should lay you out on the floor and fuck you right there, so a crowd can gather and watch you cry and cum over my cock. That what you want? Everyone to see how big of a whore you are?”
And his words worked, because the next moment you were cumming, your juices running down his hand and his wrist, his fingers moving faster and faster to prolong your orgasm as much as he could, ignoring how hard his own cock was, straining against his pants. This was enough for now, getting off on the thought of taking you in front of all these idiots who thought he didn’t deserve you. They would understand then, as they watched you cry and moan about how good his fingers felt, why you were with him. That would shut them up real quick.
And Tendou was just freaky enough to actually pull that stunt someday.

ushijima wakatoshi | birthday sweetness
bringing back this (edited) drabble i wrote for ushijima’s birthday last year. i always liked his character, but post time-skip wakatoshi hits even harder! seeing him help and befriend iwaizumi was really sweet 〔´∇`〕
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
tendou never let his best friend's birthday pass by without cake. and although the collected and stoic ushijima did not seem like one for birthday celebrations—let alone the extravagant kind tendou always was so fond of—, every year ushijima blew out the candles that his team mates had stuffed the cake with (always the exact number!) and smiled a little, gratitude seeping through the soft look that would flash upon his face.
the tradition remained throughout high school. tendou always made sure to get ushijima a cake, or some kind of pastry, whenever the 13th of august came around. the whole team would stay after practice, munching on delicious slices of fancy cake bought out of a joint effort; they did the same for every team mate's birthday. but for ushiwaka, it was always special. he, the quiet boy with more often than not no friends, had never received that kind of attention before. in truth, he did not dislike it. he would have been fine without it of course, but that yearly slice of cake, along with smiles and pats on his back, always left a warm impression within him. something he could not describe with words, but felt every time. something close to the feeling of finally fitting in.
he never thought it would continue though. after high school, it was after all common to lose connections, people slowly drifting away and friendships coming undone without the people involved even noticing. yet tendou always found a way to shake ushijima's pre-conceived expectations. his first birthday after high school was no exception.
in the united states, where he began training for his international career, ushijima did not make many friends; volley-ball occupied his mind. then the 13th of august came around.
ushijima's phone got flooded with texts and congratulations from his former team mates—even coach washijo sent his prodigy a benevolent text. his father treated him to japanese cuisine for lunch and offered him a book touching on physical training, the kind of useful gift ushijima enjoyed most.
but the biggest surprise yet awaited him in the evening. an unexpected delivery.
when ushijima opened the door, a big box was put into his hands, the mail-man assuring him that he had got the address right and this was no mistake. all wakatoshi could do was thank him, perplexed, and set the mysterious object upon the table to open it. inside sat a cake. a chocolate cake, with waves of white frosting on top and capped with a volley-ball sculpted out of chocolate. cards slipped out of the box.
happy birthday wakatoshi-kun, the first one read. don't eat it all in one sitting ;) baked by yours truly - tendou satori.
before ushijima even had time to think about what to do next, his phone buzzed, and next thing he knew the faces of tendou, semi, goshiki, shirabu, ohira, kawanishi and yamagata all appeared before him, most of them smiling, all so familiar.
"wakatsoshi-kun," tendou sang brightly, pointing at him through the screen. "did you get our present?"
"yes."
"the ball isn't exactly round, but i redeemed myself with the nice frosting, don't you think?" tendou went on cheerfully and puffed his chest. "i baked it all by myself. culinary classes are starting to pay."
"thank you."
ushijima took a closer look at the cake, which indeed did not look as neat as that of a professional baker—but something about its imperfections, the slightly irregularities in the curve of the ball, the inscription ‘happy birthday’ written atop the frosting in tendou's handwriting made it all the more authentic. it made it special for ushijima.
"come on, dig in! we all got our own!" tendou lifted up a plate with an identic slice of cake, as did the rest of their friends.
"i baked enough for all of us so you wouldn't eat alone. though none of you lot get a fancy volley ball and inscription," he winked. "enjoy, wakatoshi-kun!"
"it's really great to see you, happy birthday wakatoshi-san!" goshiki was the second one to speak, cheeks red from excitement as much as timidity when addressing his senpai after quite some time.
"let him eat, then we'll talk," shirabu rolled his eyes, but a slight smile tugged at the corner of his lips.
"come on wakatoshi-kun, we're waiting for you!" tendou hurried him on. balancing his phone against a glass of water, ushijima did as he was told and dug in. it was not the first time he tried something tendou had baked—and never disappointed. though not being much of a sweet tooth, ushijima could tell that coming up with such a cake must have taken his friend a lot of energy. the sweet taste of dark chocolate (his favourite kind, were he to choose one) filled ushijima's mouth with a taste of sugary bitterness which was alleviated by the sweetness of the frosting.
"sooo...?"
tendou's inquisitive look met ushikawa's eyes, the red-haired boy eagerly awaiting his reaction.
"it's really good." ushijima nodded, taking another small bite.
"it's amazing, tendou-san!" goshiki cheered on, which was followed by semi's equally enthusiastic reply.
"you should bake for us more often, tendou-kun!"
"aren't you two getting ahead of yourselves?" shirabu scolded the two of them, but got drowned out by ohira also complimenting the desert.
seeing them like this, reunited, bickering and laughing and trying to talk over each other to congratulate their former captain, gratitude inevitably shone upon ushijima's face. as his team mates began singing 'happy birthday', he smiled a little, calmly sitting there and listening.
there could be no better gift than them.

okay visualize a scene with me. shiratorizawa gym. someone is making fun of shirabu for being short. ha ha ha. tendou makes a joke. "'thats why you gotta grow taller. nobody can pick up me!" ha ha. ushijima picks him up. not gracefully. hands under his arms just up off the floor a foot. understandably, tendous brain shuts off a bit. he does nothing. ushijima does nothing. the rest of shiratorizawa is silent. ushijima begins to realize he might have misread the social situation. was that not a challenge? tendou should probably say something but his executive function is gone. he is in the air. ushijimas arms are getting sore. why has this happened? what folly of human nature have they stumbled into that has led to this? when will the nightmare end? Semi spots them as he is coming out of the locker room. "oh my god, put him down!" he declares, not unlike someone scolding a pet who has eaten something it should not eat. ushijima panics and drops tendou. tendou is unprepared and fully hits the floor. ushijima stares at him. someone should say something. "you are wrong" ushjima says. someone should have said something that isnt that. tendou is on the floor.

pocky challenge with him. (part 2)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
kuroo tetsuro. — original chocolate pocky.
kuroo loves seeing your flustered face as you tremble and stare up into his eyes, making his smirk grow as you hesitantly take another bite of the pocky stick. he places his finger under your chin, forcing you to look into his eyes, and takes a big, daring bite forward–until the only distance you two have left is a single nibble between you two.
he teases you, chuckling lowly to himself as he cups the underside of your face with his whole palm, bringing you closer to his own face as he bites ahead. after much teasing, he leaves a small kiss on your lips; it was gentle, it was a kind kiss–a kiss that meant he wanted what you two had to be more than a one time thing; that he's more than serious about wanting to be yours.
++ he nibbles the bits of chocolate coating left on your lips ~
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
satori tendou. — double chocolate pocky.
tendou enjoys making you smile with the goofy faces he makes when he's so close to kissing you. it's like he takes your mind off the fact that he's so close to you, and instead gives you a reason to show him that gorgeous smile he loves seeing every day.
he does get a bit teasing, though; he soon points out that he's a bite away from you, what'll you do about it? of course, he doesn't expect you to do anything–he just wanted to get a reaction out of you, he wouldn't do anything you didn't want to. but what he wasn't expecting was you to bite the last piece, lean over, and kiss his lips.
guess who's smiling now after all that loving?
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
akaashi keiji. — green tea pocky.
akaashi only agreed to this so you'd stop pestering him, and he never found it annoying, though–he just wasn't sure about you being so close to him. a million thoughts ran through his mind all at once as you kept biting forward, with him being paralyzed to his seat, not daring to take another bite forward.
he may look calm on the surface, but internally, akaashi was freaking out. he didn't know if he was ready to meet your lips halfway, let alone if you'd like the feeling of his. he didn't want anything to change between you two, because even if he won't ever confess to you his true feelings, at least he can be your friend...
...that kissed you without thinking.

Like a son
word count; 503 – f!reader, just cute stuff
Tumblr media
You’ve been the manager for Shiratorizawa’s volleyball team since the start of your second year, settling well into your role and even catching the attention of a certain redheaded middle blocker. Long story short, you’re now in a happy relationship with Tendo Satori, and the whole team thinks you’re a joy.
When you entered your third year, you welcomed little future ace, Goshiki, to the team. He would often need reassurance, which you and Tendo happily provided. Semi even dared compare you to being in the role of Goshiki’s parents, which the two of you found to be hilarious. It didn’t help when Goshiki accidentally called you ‘mom’ once during practice, making Tendo cover his mouth so he wouldn’t burst out laughing like the others and embarrass him even further.
This particular week, you were asked to manage the training camp they set up for promising first years. They only needed you the first day, to make sure everyone settled in smoothly, and on the days where the third years came over to have a practice match. So you happily agreed to help in exchange for some perks that Washijo simply had to approve. They have a pretty good budget, after all.
On the first day, you caught the attention of many of the attendants with your gorgeous looks and fun demeanour.
“Hey, what was your name?” one of the taller players asked, coming up to you with an innocent smile. Koganegawa, you think his name was.
However, you didn’t get to answer before Goshiki was shielding you from the guy, arms stretched out as if protecting you. “Get away! She has a boyfriend!” he yelled, making all the others turn and look, some snickering. Poor Koganegawa wasn’t even trying to hit on you.
You pat his shoulder and step to his side as he lowers his arms. “And my name is y/n. Make the most of your training, boys!” you cheered with a bright smile before turning away to go fill up more water bottles and make sure the ball boys had all the information they needed. Later, Goshiki was a blushing mess when some of the attendants asked if he was your boyfriend, denying it nervously as if he had done Tendo wrong somehow.
Tumblr media
When you left practice that evening, after a loud thank you from all the boys, you skipped over to your boyfriend’s dorm to tell him how sweet it was to see your son protect you from the other first years. Tendo could not stop laughing and asked Wakatoshi if he heard your story as well, hugging you close as he felt overwhelmed with his affection for you.
So when Tendo and the other third years came into the gym for a practice match, you bet Goshiki would hear the praises from his senpai. Tendo ruffled his hair and thanked him for taking such good care of you, and the spark in the younger boy’s eyes was just precious.
Oh, how he’ll weep when you two graduate.

YOU TRIP ON STAGE DURING YOUR GRADUATION
This was it. This was the moment you had been waiting for for as long as you could even begin to remember. All those gruesome hours counting down the seconds until you could dash off to your home were finally over. No more brain exploding math classes or dull history classes that made you want to pass out because of the teachers monotonous tone.
"(Y/N) (L/N)"
Your name was announced and with a proud giddy smile, you walked up the steps and onto the stage. Everything was going spectacularly well. You grabbed your diploma and shook the Principals hand. You began to walk down the steps and when you looked forward, you made eye contact with your friend. Wrong move because the second your eyes shifted from the floor to your friend, you tripped.
-------
Bursts out laughing. Like he´s deadass the type of person who laughs first then worries about you. Has literally no mercy on you. Can and *will* use this to his advantage, will not let you live this moment down for as long as he´s alive. Probably chuckles every once in a while when he thinks back on it and TRUST he thinks about it a lot.
TSUKISHIMA, Kuroo, MATSUKAWA, Hanamaki, SUNA, Atsumu, Shirabu, Tendo, Sugawara
Lets out a chuckle or two at first when everyone laughs but when you sit back down beside him, he asks if you´re okay, geniuenly concerned that you didn´t hurt yourself. When you confirm it was nothing but merely embarrassing, he grins in amusement. Might tease you a little bit BUT, he´s merciful unlike some people, and he quickly stops to save you the embarrassement.
Oikawa, IWAIZUMI, Kageyama, Nishinoya, Tanaka, Hinata, Kenma, Akaashi, Osamu, Semi
Worries THEN laughs. He´s gotta make sure you´re okay and you didn´t hurt yourself. Once you give him the okay he´ll chuckle, replaying the moment in his head and finding it quite funny actually. He quickly lets it go though, which saves you the embarrasement!

How to kill someone
Tendou Satori x f!reader
Summary: Satori was alone his whole life. Always the monster that nobody wanted around until he found someone that would stay with him till the end.
Words: 2.5k
Warnings: bullying, insults, implied suicidal thoughts, loneliness, angst, hurt/comfort
Tumblr media
There was only a little boy sitting at a large table filled with plates and cups for no one to be used, with drinks and snacks that no one would touch. He had a little party hat on his red hair but no one who he would share all the happiness, that once radiated of him, with. His little hands were clenched tightly into his new shirt, his bottom lip wobbling and his eyes becoming glassy but no tear was shed. A woman with a large smile came into the room, holding a cake with chocolate gloss all over it. It wasn`t a masterpiece but it showed that she cared.
“Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you. Happy birthday dear Satori. Happy birthday to you!” Before her silvery voice could finish the song the boy in front of her started weeping. His face scrunched up until a stream of tears followed. His mother gently placed the cake on the fully decorated table, just to crouch down next to her boy and hold him tightly. “Ohh honey, I´m so sorry.” His tears were soaking into the fabric of her wonderful dress but she didn`t budge. She didn`t push him away or reprimand him for ruining it. Satori was just a child desperately wanting to feel loved and if his friends couldn`t do that, then his mother would need to step up. “Why didn`t they come?” His little hand still clinging to her form while his pleading eyes were looking right through her. How should she answer that? How should she explain to her son that his friends were playing with his feelings, trying to torture him? “I don`t know, darling.” She tried smiling, lifting the corners of her mouth but it couldn`t reach her eyes, because she knew. They both did.
Tumblr media
Every year after that he tried again and again. But no one ever showed up to his birthday parties. After that, the first day of middle school was the chance he had been waiting for. He was bouncing with energy, ready to make everything right. When his mom pulled up to school to drop him off he saw all these unfamiliar children. The reason for all the nervous tugging and quickly looking around from others, was the reason Satori's heart was nearly pounding out of his chest, accompanied by a big smile. Nobody knew him here. Nobody to ignore him, pretend to be his friend but call him names behind his back. It was finally going to be better.
His mother tried to give him a reassuring smile, holding his hands for a second too long with clammy hands while saying goodbye. As soon as her boy turned around running over to the other kids going to his classroom, her smile fell and she started nibbling on her bottom lip. Nearly making it bleed again after doing it repeatedly for the last few days. He was gonna be alright. Satori bounded into his new classroom. Eyes sparkling with excitement. Finally, after everything he would find friends. He could join a sports club to find people that had the same interests as him. They could train together and go to tournaments. He would be just like everybody else.
One of his little hands was reaching for the doorknob of the classroom while his other one was holding the strap of his backpack. Squeezing it occasionally to contain his excitement. The door was pushed open and a few heads turned around with big eyes. Nervousness radiating off them to see who else would be in their class. Satori's smile stretched over his whole face, showing his teeth that were still a bit too big for his mouth. His eyes scrunched together a bit. His eyes scanned the crowd for a place to sit, waving shyly at his new classmates that were still watching him until his eyes landed on them. Two boys, who seemed ohh so innocent but were the demons his nightmares were made of. His supposedly friends, which ignored him, talked behind his back and called him bad names at the end of primary school. They were everything he had wanted to avoid for his new beginning. "Hey, look who else is here?" Akui pointed out. He was a plain-looking kid. Dark hair falling over his face and almost hiding his small brown eyes. He was gesturing towards Satori, making the other boy at the table next to him turn around. Yumekuis freezing cold eyes fell on him and a wicked smirk danced along his features that had to look so innocent to everyone else seeing their interaction.
"Hey freak, nice to have you back in our class." The glint in his eyes darkened while he waved toward Satori and made a gesture to the table in front of them. They wanted him to sit with them. It wasn`t a friendly request so they could all be together. It was meant to be Satori's slow execution. He wanted to torture everything that Satori stood for. But he sat. Even though everything in him screamed to stand up, to run, to fight, to cry, to do anything but sit. He sat. Moving mechanically and not moving a muscle after he had found his place. He was paralyzed. The cruel truth of destiny had shown him that he could not outrun his fate. All other children would have been ecstatic to see a familiar face in the same room as them but for Satori it was a nightmare come true. Satori had thought weeks before stepping foot into his new classroom that things would be finally better, but after a few months, he realized how horrible it was going and that nobody had his back except for himself. And even he wanted to give himself up so badly and put a knife in his heart to end it all. The pain and suffering. The feelings. From day one everyone was against him. He became the monster. The soul-sucking demon nobody was allowed to touch otherwise you got a disease.
It was the second period. Their teacher had written a math problem on the blackboard and tried to explain a new formula to solve it. But it was hard to listen when little paper pieces were stuck in his hair and occasionally wet pieces found their way to his forehead. Satori was never sure if someone used water from their bottle for it or just their own saliva. His table was filling up with garbage from every side. But their teacher stayed oblivious. Never calling the other students out and putting an end to the battle against the monster, as the other children often called it. As if he was a demon that would steal the happiness out of their lives and they had to fend him off.
It never ended there. Throwing garbage was just the beginning and as the months progressed his classmates grew braver. Putting his binders into the trash followed by his backpack. They stole his homework and pulled down his pants. It was exhausting. He was always waiting for the next attack. A new move they would pull on him to hurt him. It didn`t matter what he did to prevent it. They were always there. Watching him, waiting for the perfect opportunity to attack and humiliate him. All their eyes were always on him. He could even feel them at home in the own comforts of his room. Middle school was hell and Yumekui was the reason it got created. The redhead was at the top of the mountain called loneliness and was just a slight push away from rolling down the other side, plummeting into a deep, cold lake that would finally freeze him. An end that he could already see from the top. It didn`t take long as the last push came. He was a stone that got kicked down, so it could sink into the darkness.
It was a Thursday afternoon and the sun was shining mercilessly down onto the courtyard. From the window, he could see children playing basketball or hide and seek. They all had huge smiles plastered onto their faces and even the kid that fell a second ago, was already on his feet again when one of his friends stretched a hand out to him and helped him up. Satori also needed someone to help him up. He joined the volleyball team of his school to find a person that could understand him. Instead, he found his talent. A passion that had kept him alive for longer. One that gave him hope. They had training on Thursday afternoons but as he wanted to grab his bag full of sportswear, he grabbed into nothingness. His bag was not where he had left it. The emptiness of the coat rack was taunting him. He could already see the disappointed and pitying eyes of his mother when another binder got lost or his backpack broke again. But losing his sportswear was worse because he knew he would have never misplaced it. Volleyball was his dream. He would never be so careless as to jeopardize it. The snickers coming from the last remaining students in the classroom also confirmed it. He hadn`t misplaced or lost it. It got stolen, because everyone hated him and no one wanted to play with him. No one could endure the satisfaction in his eyes when he blocked another spike and finally had the upper hand. So when they had a chance to take away his safe space. His paradise. They stopped at nothing. No feelings or expenses were spared because for them he didn`t deserve it. Satori went with hanging shoulders out of the classroom, eyes fixated on the floor so nobody could see the tears dripping down his cheeks. He was just a boy scared his whole life would be similar. Full of people that didn`t know him but hated him for his looks. He was scared that the bullying would only get worse, with no one to rely on but himself. He walked slowly down the corridor. Thinking about just going home, skipping training when anyways nobody wanted him there. Or if he should go to the gym, make up an excuse about forgetting his sports clothes. Standing his ground and showing his classmates that they couldn`t take that from him. But would it be worth it? To arrive there and only see disgusted faces. Two girls were coming his way, whispering their words and snickering quietly. They had something to do with it. Satori could see it in their eyes. They knew and they didn`t look at him with pity, they thought he deserved it. Until screaming was heard from the end of the corridor.
A girl was standing with their back towards him, gripping a bag that looked incredibly familiar while Yumekui was holding onto the other end. "Stop it! These are not yours!" The girl pressed out. Her whole face was red for exertion but her hands were not budging when Yumekui tried to rip it out of them once more. Satori walked closer to the action to confirm what he already thought. A girl he didn`t know was fighting for his gym clothes. Yumekui's hardened eyes lifted and fell automatically onto Satori. Immediately he let go of the bag and put an annoyed look on his face. Letting the girl stumble back but smile in victory. "Tsk, whatever. Keep this dirty thing." The boy tried to sound nonchalant but failed with the look he threw one last time at the pair before turning around. After he was gone the girl sighed in relief. The last tension was leaving her body before Satori spoke up and she went rigid again.
"That`s my bag." He said timidly, pointing with his long fingers toward her hands. Immediately she jerked around, her eyes wide. "Sorry! I wanted to bring it back but I wasn`t sure who it belonged to and Yumekui didn`t want to give it to me." She rapidly explained, putting a small smile on Satori's face which seemed to relax her. "Where did you find it?" "It was in the bin at the entrance." She explained while handing it over to the boy who had lost his smile again. The truth dawned on him, that this would happen more often now and Yumekui would always find new places to hide it. "I like your smile more." She spoke up once again, a frown now also gracing her lips. Satori took cautiously a step back. His brain going a mile a minute trying to figure out where the trap is. Was that girl in it as well? Is she only pretending to play nice to play an even sicker joke? Was she faking liking him, be his friend only to abandon him? Point with a finger at him, laughing uncontrollably while asking who would want to be the friend of a monster. He imagined a thousand scenarios but her eyes looked at him with so much concern that he couldn`t find the will to just run. He couldn`t even form words but she seemed to understand his inner turmoil. "Are you good at volleyball?" A shy nod followed from Satori before his eyes found the floor again. "Do you want to play before the next lesson starts?" His head jerked up, surprise flashing through his eyes while she just smiled. Satori eyed her suspiciously but she was unfazed, just waiting for him to confirm or deny. So he nodded making her beam at him even brighter before she took his hand and bounded with him over to the yard. "I`m (Y/N) (L/N) by the way. Nice to meet you." After that, there was always someone to hold him. They would play volleyball together and (Y/N) would look at him as if he was a miracle. She would always come to his birthday parties or as they got older, plan them herself. Their last year at Shiratorizawa came around and it was clear they all would go their separate ways. Moving to different cities or even countries and chasing their own dreams. Satori's birthday rolled around again. He was no longer filled with dread when he thought about that day because he knew there was always at least one person to remember it. When he came to class that morning a muffin was standing on his table and behind it, Semi and Ushiwaka were standing with neutral expressions. "Hey, guys. Is that for me?" Satori beamed, eyeing the little treat excitedly. "Of course, it's for you. Happy Birthday." Semi rolled his eyes at him but had a small smile on his lips. "I also wish you a pleasant birthday, Tendou." The redhead laughed thanking his ever-stoic friend as he gave him a little bag with presents their whole team had contributed to. Just as he was about to look at it another voice filled the classroom. The door flung open and loud panting was heard, followed by singing as Satori turned around. "Happy Birthday to you, happy birthday to you. Happy Birthday dear Satori. Happy Birthday to you!" Her face was bright red and her hair disheveled. It was the most beautiful sight he had seen all morning. "Thank you, Paradise." It wasn`t only gratefulness for her to remember his birthday but for her to stand by his side for all these years and save him from himself.

It was so painstakingly obvious that Tendou had a crush.
She wasn’t just some girl he saw walking around school, someone that he just happened to run into by pure luck. She was perfect. From the very first time he saw her standing on the opposite side of the court at one of his games, he knew that she was going to be the love of his life. He was never one to believe in soulmates or love at first sight, but she managed to change his mind. He could see the red string tying their hearts together, the moment that she met his gaze he knew that he needed to have her.
His entire third year at Shiratorizawa was spent pining over her. Asking her to come visit his dorm so they could read manga together, taking her to his favorite bakeries and cafes, inviting her over to help him “practice” when he knew that he did enough of that already. Any excuse that he could find to spend time with her, he never hesitated to make plans.
Tendou couldn’t help the tears that welled up in his eyes when he saw her at his graduation ceremony. He could hear her screaming and cheering for him when he picked up his diploma from the principal’s hands. She was still a second year, yet she didn’t miss a beat when it came to supporting him. She came to see him and Ushijima graduate and get on with their lives. He remembered leaning over to tell Wakatoshi that she had come. The face that Ushijima made was forever engraved in his mind. Ushijima smiled as brightly as he ever had before.
“Where is she sitting?”
After the ceremony, Y/N walked out to meet their best friends with open arms. Ushijima pulled her into a tight hug and thanked them what sounded like a million times for coming. Y/N then excitedly threw herself at Tendou, the bouquet of red tulips that she had bought for him being flung around a little too harshly. She didn’t care, though.
“I’m so proud of you, Tori.” The waterworks started up and soon enough, Satori was wiping the salty tears that rolled down his cheeks.
He looked down at the bouquet in her hands and gave her a big smile. The dimples that turned his lips upward were on full display and Y/N could feel her heart melting. She outstretched the flowers towards him with slightly shaking hands and a quivering lip.
“These are for you. I picked the prettiest red flowers I could find just for you, I can’t tell you enough how happy I am for you.”
That’s when tears started to roll down Y/N’s cheeks and her quivering lips shifted into a sad pout. She sniffled and wiped away her tears, looking down at her shoes to avoid Satori’s gaze. Tendou felt his heart shatter for her. Yet somehow, just a small part of his mind couldn’t help but be elated at the fact that she cared about him enough to cry over the fact that he was leaving soon.
“Now, now, why is such a pretty lady crying over little ‘ol me?”
Even on the saddest day of his life, he still managed to sound just as energetic as always.
“Don’t you shed another tear over this.”
Tendou curled his index finger and used it to wipe the stray tear that just fell from her eyes. He happily took the flowers from her hands and brought them up to his nose for him to sniff. He let out a happy sigh and set them down safely. He was quick to bring her into his arms for a more intimate hug this time. He was petting her hair and rested his cheek on the top of her head. Despite how sweet those flowers smelled, nothing quite matched the way that she always smelled. He had grown fond of the shampoo and conditioner she used, as well as the lotions and perfumes she’d use. You’d think that it would be a jumble of a bunch of random smells, but it was quite the opposite. She smelled delicious to him, every single scent of her products blended together and created a scent that was absolutely unmatched.
That night, Satori planned on spilling his guts.
He was going to tell her about how he’s felt for the entire school year and that he wanted nothing more than for her to be his. But when finally had a moment to himself, he found himself thinking it was rather selfish of him. How could he tell her that he was in love with her when he was just about to leave for Paris and start his career? To have her just sit here and wait for him until the next time they got to visit each other was something that he couldn’t bear to think of. So instead, he settled for kissing her. He didn’t even get to kiss her for as long as he wanted to, but it's a form of intimacy he’s wanted to share with her for so long. So many times he had to hold himself back and remember that best friends don’t kiss each other, that he had to limit himself no matter how badly he wanted to. He felt her kiss him back and that’s all the reassurance he needed.
“Until next time,” He sighed.
It had been two years since Tendou had left for Paris. Y/N couldn’t help but feel disappointed when he didn’t get to make it to her graduation. But from what she’s heard from Wakatoshi, Tendou’s career had really taken off.
Despite Satori saying that he wanted to get interviewed when they made a documentary about Ushijima’s life during high school, it was actually Ushijima that got interviewed when Satori earned himself a show on TV. ‘Miracle Sweets’ had gotten popular in France and the show was getting broadcasted everywhere. Y/N had the pleasure of watching the debut of the show.
He shaved his head.
That was the first thing she noticed and it made her giggle. Despite the buzzcut he had, he was still the same old Satori. He measured his chocolate mixtures with feeling, he baked and cooked with love, he sounded the same.
On one special episode, Y/N noticed that he had subtly mentioned her while he was waiting for the mixture to set. She was doing the dishes while watching the show. The second that he mentioned her, she dropped a glass cup on the floor and didn’t even flinch when it shattered at her feet.
“I’m making this chocolate for a good friend of mine. She always told me how she loved the Ferrero Rocher chocolates and I made it a mission to always get them for her when I could.” He smiled to himself and looked down into the bowl fondly.
“Paradise, if you’re watching this, I hope you think these chocolates look just as delicious as your Ferrero Rocher’s”
Tears welled up in Y/N’s eyes once more. She finally felt like moving and quickly swept up the cup she had dropped onto the floor. In a frenzy, she looked for her phone and dialed Wakatoshi’s number.
“Do you play in France anytime soon?”
A few months later, Y/N was on a plane to Paris to go and watch one of Ushijima’s games. Despite how much she loved to support Waka at his games, Y/N couldn’t help but wonder if Satori would be close by. Maybe one of his stores was nearby, or maybe he’d come to the game as a surprise to support Wakatoshi.
Y/N sighed anxiously as the plane started to land. What if there was a reason he hadn't contacted her? She didn't have his new number, none of his socials, all she knew about him was whatever she heard on TV or from Wakatoshi.
She just hoped that coming to Paris was a good idea.
The days leading up to Ushijima’s game were filled with lots of “sightseeing” and touring all around Paris. Y/N had actually found the famous bakery that Tendou owned now, but when asking to see him, she was told that he had taken a vacation week and wasn’t going to be back until next week. She felt hopeless. Her brain started to flood with memories and every single one made her question whether or not it was a good idea to even try and find him. He was busy, he was so successful, why would he have time for someone that had a crush on him in high school?
Y/N decided that she would just make the rest of her time in Paris with Waka.
Y/N quickly started to have fun once she was watching Ushijima in his element. She'd been doing this since they started attending his games in high school. Every time he was on the court he was always a force to be reckoned with. It was crazy to know that even as an adult now, he still managed to intimidate and confuse players with his talent the same way he did as a fresh eighteen year old.
The game was so intriguing to watch; nothing new. Y/N felt like she was going to lose her voices in the morning from how much she had screamed and cheered for Wakatoshi. It all felt so nostalgic. Once the Adlers had won the game, adding onto their winning streak of ten games in a row, Y/N made her way down from the stands to the court to meet up with Ushijima. Upon seeing her, Wakatoshi smiled and wiped his face with the towel he was given. He opened his arms for her and brought her in for a small hug
“Did you have any luck finding Tendou?”
Y/N shook her head and shrugged her shoulders. “I just figured I’d stop looking. I’ve spent so long looking for him,”
Ushijima let out a dissatisfied hum. “That’s not like you at all,”
Y/N raised an eyebrow and met eyes with the professional volleyball player. “The Y/N that Tendou introduced me to in high school was persistent, and didn’t give up. Why would you give up on searching for him?”
Y/N couldn’t help but agree with Ushijima, but she also thought about how defeated and sad she's been since she landed in France. It was tiring to spend all two years searching for someone and feel like they’re not even bothering to do the same. She’s just tired of looking and feeling like everything was so one-sided.
“I’ve had something to tell him for two years, Waka. I’ve held onto it for two years but I still don’t even know if he’d like what he hears, or if he even wants to hear it. It’s exhausting.”
Ushijima just stayed quiet. After grabbing all of his things, the two of them walked out of the stadium to look for somewhere to eat dinner before heading back to the hotel they had booked. It was freezing outside and Y/N wished that she would have packed warmer things, then again, it was summer time. The nights normally aren’t this cold.
The sounds of volleyball fans calling out to Ushijima were sitting behind Y/N’s head as they continued to walk to the restaurant. She wondered how Ushijima had grown so accustomed to just ignoring everyone’s screams, Y/N felt like her head was going to explode if she heard one more person ask Ushijima for a picture or for his autograph. Then again, Ushijima was already a tough cookie to break.
“Wakatoshi!” There it was again.
Y/N wanted to cover her ears like a little kid to drown out all of the noise. Her head was pounding and all of the cameras that were flashing and following them made her want to just go home, pop some Excedrins, and go to bed.
“Wakatoshi-kun!”
Just keep walking. Y/N kept repeating this in her head as she took each step. She was following directly behind Ushijima, who kept turning around to make sure that Y/N was still behind him every little while. Y/N didn’t hate being Ushijima's friend at all, but she the baggage it came with. She looked like she was just following Ushijima around like a lost puppy. Like some dog that was trying to find its way back home.
“Ushiwaka-kun!”
Ushijima stopped dead in his tracks and it made Y/N crash into his back. Y/N groaned and looked up at Ushijima, only to see that he had vanished already. When Y/N turned around, all of her discouraged and ugly thoughts from while they were walking completely vanished.
“I-Is that?”
Y/N couldn’t believe her eyes, she felt like she was going to cry and throw up at the same time. Her heart was pounding against her chest, she felt like it was going to break through her skin and jump out of her body. Her breathing was erratic and she couldn’t take her eyes off of him. He was so gorgeous. Even with his crazy red hair gone, she still couldn’t help but fawn over him. Her Tendou. Her Satori. He was finally here, right in front of her.
Ushijima was hugging him, laughing at something that she couldn’t hear them talking about. It wasn’t until one of Wakatoshi’s slender fingers pointed into her direction that Tendou’s ruby eyes finally shifted over to look at her. The lump in the back of Y/N's throat was sore. She couldn’t even speak. Everything felt like it was in slow-motion.
Her legs weren’t walking fast enough, her mouth wasn’t moving fast enough, her heartbeat stilled inside of her chest the second that his eyes met her own. Her hearing was gone, she couldn’t focus on one audible thing around her. But thank god she could read lips, because she saw his lips move to speak her name.
Tendou pushed through the crowd of people to get to her, his still tall and lanky figure towering over her short stature. Her dark doe eyes stared up at him in wonder and her lip was quivering again, just like when he left after graduation. This feeling in his chest was like an old friend. His heart was thumping at the sight of her, his legs felt weak and his knees were ready to buckle.
“Look at you,” Tendou scoffed in disbelief. “Is that really you?”
Y/N nodded frantically, tears streaming down her face.
“It’s me, It’s me!”
Tendou wore a bright smile and nearly tackled her to the ground once she responded to him. His arms engulfed her into a hug and he lifted her off the ground, digging his nose into the crook of her neck. She still smelled exactly the same, the same scent that he absolutely adored. It was flooding his senses and he felt like he was home again. One of his hands gripped the back of her head to hold her impossibly closer to him, while the other was wrapped around her waist.
“You’re still as beautiful as ever, Paradise. You haven’t changed a bit.”
Y/N smiled through her dampened eyelashes. “You still look just like my Tori, just with no hair!”
The pair of old friends giggled and intertwined themselves together once more in another hug.
Tendou turned to face Wakatoshi now, still holding onto Y/N tightly. “You guys should come to my place! Have you eaten yet? I’d love to cook for you and catch up!”
Ushijima smiled. With an affirmative nod, Tendou was leading the two of them back to his house, Y/N's hand tightly woven with his fingers.
Tendou’s success was very noticeable once you saw his house. Despite the mansion that most people would assume he’d have, it was actually just a very nice, modern two-story house. His front yard’s grass was perfectly trimmed, the car that was in the driveway obviously wasn’t cheap, yet he somehow still managed to keep it on the more humble side.
Third-year Tendou probably would’ve bought a Lamborghini just for the sake of saying he had enough money to buy one, but this Tendou seemed to have matured a great deal. He was living in luxury, but he still managed to keep himself humble with everything his money went to.
Watching Satori in the kitchen was just as riveting as watching Ushijima play volleyball. He was in his element, throwing spices into the pan and using his heart to cook. This was the first time since watching him play in high school that Y/N really noticed how focused he was. Tendou in the kitchen was by no means quiet, however. He was keeping conversation almost effortlessly while he waited for the soup he was making to simmer.
“I’m sorry I haven’t been home to visit in a while,” Tendou sighed. “This business is really taking it out of me, there’s always something to do once I finish one thing.”
After the soup was served, Tendou was pleased to see that Y/N had gone for thirds. Ushijima had gotten so full that he felt ready to head to bed the second he finished his second bowl. Tendou offered to let Y/N stay with him, so Ushijima could have no worries when heading back to his hotel. After Wakatoshi double checked, he left, hugging Tendou tightly and thanking him for dinner.
Once it was Satori and Y/N all alone, that’s when the gravity of how long it had been since they’d seen each other really sank in.
“I never stopped waiting, you know.” Y/N spoke up. Tendou looked at her from across his dining table and sat up taller. “These past two years, I’ve waited for a sign, or for an opportunity that would lead me to you.”
Tendou looked down at his fingers that were tapping on the glass table. “I didn’t stop thinking about you. Not for a second.” He replied.
Y/N let out a small huff and looked up at him. “I tried to find ways to contact you, the only way I managed to get through was by telling Ushijima to text you that I was thinking of you and missed you.”
Satori stayed quiet. “You know, I’ve been holding onto something for so long, and I really need to get it out. I meant to tell you the last night that I saw you before I left, but no time ever felt right.”
Y/N raised a brow and waited for him to explain himself. “That night, when I kissed you.” He began. “I didn’t plan on kissing you. I was actually going to confess. I was going to tell you that I was in love with you and I wanted to be with you.”
Y/N’s heart sank in her chest. She could’ve had him two years ago? She could have avoided all of this had he confessed that night? Had she confessed that night? She was too lost in the ‘what if’s’ to even respond to his story.
“I figured it’d be selfish of me to tell you that I was in love with you and then just get up and leave for Paris the next morning.”
Y/N was speechless. She got up from her chair across from him at the table, and moved to the one that was right next to his seat instead.
“Tori, you really meant to confess to me?”
He nodded and rubbed his face with his hands. He let out a harsh sigh. “Not confessing to you that night is one of the biggest regrets of my life. I probably would’ve been able to have you here with me while I go through all of this. I wouldn’t have been so alone, and I’d be even happier because the woman that I love would be right by my side.”
Y/N could feel a blush rising up to her cheeks. He wasn’t even speaking in the past tense about his feelings. It was a small detail, but it changed the entire meaning of everything he said. The woman that I love.
“I meant to tell you my feelings for you on the day of your graduation. Ushi helped me pick out red tulips because they symbolize confession. But when I was at your graduation party, I just got so nervous and choked up and I couldn’t do it. I kinda just silently prayed you’d read into the text a little bit more and research the flowers.”
Satori’s head picked up and his eyes locked with hers. That thumping of his heart came back once more and a smile spread across his face. Y/N couldn’t help but notice how well these two years had done him. He still looked like third-year Satori, but something in the way he spoke now showed more confidence. None of that false arrogance that he had when he spoke to people was there anymore. He seemed comfortable with who he was finally, and Y/N couldn’t help but feel emotional noticing that.
“Well, looks like we were both too scared to say anything, huh?”
She sighed through her nostrils and shook her head. “Guess so,” She let out a soft chuckle and looked back up at Tendou.
His ruby eyes were piercing through hers, she felt so warm under his gaze. The silence between them was so uncomfortable, Y/N never had to sit in silence with Tendou like this ever. After getting what they needed to say off their chests, she wasn’t sure what to do next.
“Do you,” Tendou began. He paused almost as if he was going to regret asking his question. “Still feel the same?
Y/N looked down at her lap again and twiddled with her thumbs for a bit.
This was so hard to admit. How was she going to just tell him that the whole reason she’d been waiting for him throughout these two years is because she thought she still had a chance with him? That she turned down multiple confessions and dates because she felt like she was betraying him.
“It’s been two years,” She spoke hoarsely. “And my feelings haven’t changed one bit.”
The weight of the world came off of Tendou’s shoulders. He sat up straighter in his seat and he couldn’t help the excited smile that spread across his face. The more that he stared at her, the more he could feel his feelings for her rushing back to him.
Although, they never truly left.
Every time he was making a new chocolate, or experimenting with sweets at his shop, he couldn’t help but think of her and what she would think of his new creations. He’d fantasized about her being in the kitchen with him, begging to lick the spoon that he had mixed his chocolate with. He would giggle to himself when he would imagine her cute little face scrunching up with delight once she realized how delicious his concoctions were. He imagined her face looking the same as when he first introduced her to one of his favorite bakeries and he had her try a chocolate croissant. Her eyes were tightly shut and she was licking melted chocolate off her fingers, humming with delight as she licked her lips.
Tendou cleared his throat to clear the silence between them once more. His eyes lit up with excitement and then he stood up from his chair to head over to the fridge. “Actually, now that you’re here with me, I need you to try something for me.”
Y/N shimmied in her chair a bit. “Ooh! I was actually going to buy something from your shop when I was looking for you earlier today, everything looked so delicious!”
Tendou chuckled and puffed his chest out confidently. He pulled a tray out of his freezer that was covered with plastic wrap and pulled the wrap off. Just by Y/N taking a peak, she immediately saw that it was chocolate. She smiled eagerly and watched him put a couple pieces on a small plate.
“Well, this item is off the menu until further notice,” Satori smirked, placing the plate down in front of her.
“Tell me what you think.”
Y/N picked up the chocolate in between her pointer finger and thumb. Tendou was standing off to the side with his hands behind his back to wait for her thoughts. He looked like the contestants on those competitive cooking shows waiting to hear feedback from the famous chef that’s judging them. But Y/N didn’t have nowhere near as refined taste buds as a famous chef. Tendou could feel his heart pounding in his chest the second that her perfect lips wrapped around his creation.
She curled her hand into a fist and banged it onto the table a couple of times. Tendou chuckled at her reaction and waited for her to swallow to hear her start talking about what she just tasted.
“Tori, this is the most delicious thing I have ever put in my mouth.” She sighed. “I want to buy a hundred dollars worth of this so I can have it when I’m back home!”
Satori’s smile only widened at her praise and his heart felt full. His eyes looked like half-crescent moons when he smiled and Y/N was too busy appreciating her third piece of chocolate that she had popped into her mouth.
I’m so so glad that you like it,” Tendou sighs in relief. “Because I made them just for you. I named them Paradise chocolates. I was waiting for your approval so that way I can put it as a special item on the menu.”
Y/N gasped and looked into Tendou’s eyes. She stood up from her seat and wrapped her arms around Satori excitedly. “Tori, you’re serious? That’s so sweet of you!”
Satori gladly accepted her hug and held her close to him. He forgot how good it felt to have her in his arms. After working his limbs to the bone every single day and coming home so exhausted, he’d kill to have her waiting for him as soon as he walks through the door. More than anything, he wanted to see her standing in the doorway waiting for him, her cute little face adorning that gorgeous smile she has with open arms.
Y/N pulled away from their hug and looked up into his ruby eyes. The two of them had yet another moment of silence fall over them, but this one was different. There was a tension that the both of them were too oblivious to notice. Tendou’s eyes fell from her eyes to her lips, shifting back and forth between the two features of her face a couple of times. They both started to inch closer to each other’s faces slowly, as if they were unsure of what the other would think of their actions. Tendou was finally the one to close the gap between them and smashed his lips onto hers. Y/N visibly relaxed into the kiss and moved her hands from his neck to the back of his buzzed head. The grip Satori had on her waist tightened as he pulled her into his body more.
His heart was pleading to burst right out of his chest, Y/N could feel their two elevated heartbeats beating in sync with one another. She couldn’t help but feel like this kiss was long overdue. She’d had so many things to tell him, so many feelings that she needed to show him, but she was so glad that she could put all of her pent up frustration and how much she missed him into just this one kiss. Satori swiped his tongue over her bottom lip to bring a blush up to the apples of her cheeks. Her lungs were burning but she didn’t want the kiss to end. It wasn’t until Satori gripped her bottom lip in between his teeth and pulled away from her that she finally took in a deep breath.
“When do you leave back home?” Tendou queried, his chest still heaving with uneven breaths.
“Two days.” Y/N responded a bit glum. “This sucks.”
Tendou smirked and gripped her hips tightly in his fingers. He gave them a small squeeze. “Wanna know what wouldn’t suck?”
Y/N stayed silent and raised an eyebrow.
“Being mine.”
She blushed deeply and looked down at her feet. Satori tried to meet her gaze as she looked down at the floor, trying to find the answer in her expression.
“How about we put that to the test?”

MASTERLIST | NEXT PART
Tumblr media
Your phone buzzed in your pocket and your heart seemed to freeze. He couldn't truly be talking to you so soon. You'd thought maybe Eita had been pulling your leg. But low and behold, his name lit up your screen as you pulled it out.
3:15pm from Miracle Boy: y/nnn 3:15pm from Miracle Boy: so semi semi told me something interesting.
You groaned, half a mind to lock your phone and pretend you'd never seen the message. Unfortunately, you knew that your read receipts had probably given you away already. Bite the bullet.
3:17pm from Y/N: 'semi semi' needs mental help, don't listen to him 3:18pm from Miracle Boy: why not? he giving out bad advice? ;)
Why did he have to respond so quickly? You sighed and typed on.
3:19pm from Y/N: no idea what you're speaking of 3:21pm from Miracle Boy: y/n... -_- 3:22pm from Y/N: what? why that face?? 3:22pm from Miracle Boy: bc i think you know exactly what i'm talking about 3:24pm from Y/N: hm i like pretending that i don't know what anyone talks about. makes things fun
You watched the bubbles bounce in the bottom of the screen as you shifted in your seat nervously. Maybe that was the wrong thing to say. You played with the idea of tacking on an extra 'lol' to the end to ease the pressure but before you could pick up your phone again, his message popped up.
3:27pm from Miracle Boy: ohhhh i see now lol 3:27pm from Y/N: ??what 3:27pm from Y/N: what do you see? 3:28pm from Miracle Boy: just how playful you are and i like that :P 3:28pm from Miracle Boy: we could have a lot of fun together
Your face heated up and you had to set your phone face down on the desk for a moment while you breathed, taking in the implications.
3:32pm from Y/N: what kind of fun are we talking about here? 3:33pm from Miracle Boy: my favorite kind of fun ;)
You sighed and looked around the room nervously before responding.
3:37pm from Y/N: satori, can we play a game of hypothetical for a second? 3:38pm from Miracle Boy: i'd love to play with you 3:39pm from Y/N: okay everything is hypothetical here so i can't be held accountable for what i'm about to say here 3:41pm from Miracle Boy: of course yes, all hypothetical
Hypothetical. You could do hypothetical. If it didn't go how you planned, there was always just playing it off. Blaming it on the hypothetical.
3:43pm from Y/N: hypothetically... let's say semi was onto something... like me liking you a little bit... 3:43pm from Y/N: and hypothetically if i didn't know what to do... what would you hypothetically say? 3:44pm from Miracle Boy: hypothetically i'd just want some fun. but that''s only if you're comfortable with it. 3:44pm from Miracle Boy: hypothetically
You swallowed nervously. Fun. Right... You were snapped out of your thoughts by the rustling of your classmates. You followed along and pulled yourself out of your seat, phone burning in your pocket as you walked out. You waited until you were out of the lecture hall before pulling your phone out again.
3:47pm from Y/N: so if, hypothetically, i just wanted some fun too... 3:48pm from Miracle Boy: then i would say we would have some fantastic fun 3:49pm from Miracle Boy: is this still all hypothetical?
You stared at your screen, your feet traveling towards your dorm room by memory as you mulled over your options. You played the safe option.
3:51pm from Y/N: i'm not sure... you tell me 3:52pm from Miracle Boy: not one bit :) 3:53pm from Y/N: so... what does this mean for us? 3:55pm from Miracle Boy: it means we're gonna have lots of fun... if you want to
You pushed your key into your dorm door and slipped inside. Was this even a good ideas? Who knew. You had to be sure.
3:57pm from Y/N: just fun. no feelings? 3:59pm from Miracle Boy: if that's what you're looking for then yeah. just fun and no feelings
Was that what you wanted?
3:59pm from Y/N: that's what i want yeah 4:00pm from Miracle Boy: come by my dorm and hang out for a bit? 4:00pm from Y/N: be by in twenty?
You flopped on your bed, head hitting the pillow as you laid your phone on your chest. No way that you just did that. You were in disbelief of yourself. That wasn't you. You picked up your phone again and clicked out of Satori's messages, where he'd liked your last message, and opened the unopened message from your best friend.
4:00pm from Eita: sooo? 4:00pm from Eita: did you and tendou talk about it then? 4:01pm from Y/N: don't speak to me 4:01pm from Y/N: can't believe you talked to him 4:01pm from Eita: so then that's a yes 4:02pm from Eita: and how did it go? 4:03pm from Y/N: you're a fake friend 4:04pm from Eita: that wasn't information y/n. i was asking to be in the know 4:04pm from Y/N: i confided in you 4:04pm from Y/N: stabbed me in the back 4:05pm from Eita: dramatic much?
You double tapped the message and gave it a thumbs down, glaring as his dots reappeared in the corner.
4:05pm from Eita: can you just answer jeeeeez 4:06pm from Y/N: some friend you are. 4:06pm from Y/N: ykw. 4:06pm from Y/N: name privileges revoked
You tapped his contact photo at the top of your screen and clicked to edit it. You deleted 'Eita' from the name line and typed up your new name for him quickly, smiling as you hit save and Eita's photo popped up above the name 'Dead to Me'. You exited his contact to find another message from him waiting for you.
4:06pm from Eita: did you change my name then? 4:07pm from Y/N: yup. dead to me 4:07pm from Eita: done being dramatic then? 4:07pm from Y/N: perhaps 4:08pm from Eita: so it went like: 4:09pm from Y/N: we talked.... hypothetically 4:09pm from Y/N: and hypothetically came to an agreement 4:09pm from Eita: god... don't make me pry anymore just get to the point 4:10pm from Y/N: shut up. this is your fault yk 4:10pm from Y/N: but we agreed... no feelings just fun 4:11pm from Eita: right. cause that's always worked well in the history of... ever 4:11pm from Eita: totally won't end terribly for you 4:11pm from Y/N: ykw. i'm going over there now. don't need the negativity eita
You sighed and tossed your phone down in irritation. What did Eita know anyways? It was his fault. Had to open his mouth and loop Satori into the conversation that the two of you had discussed the day before.
It was only the second semester of college and you'd gone the whole first semester without getting laid at all. You'd blamed it on trying to get accustomed to a new lifestyle. A new location. Making new friends. Friends like Eita. To whom, just yesterday, you'd confessed to about your small attraction to a certain red headed boy.
You glanced off to the side of your room to look at yourself in the mirror. You were somewhat presentable, but after a long day of classes, you could have looked better. Oh god. It suddenly occurred to you that you should look better when you found your way to Satori's dorm for the first time.
You scrambled off the bed quickly, cursing yourself for giving yourself such a short time frame to get over to his place as you tugged off the sweats you had been wearing all day. Your underwear came next as you scoured through your drawers, not minding the mess ou were making as you looked for a matching set to pull onto your body.
You'd spent over ten minutes wasting time and texting Eita, trying to process the bold move you'd made agreeing to do this with Satori. You were struggling to pull your hair into a somewhat manageable ponytail, fighting with the tangles it had accrued from the day, as you jumped around on one leg trying to pull on some leggings. Something that actually showed that you had some sort of body under your clothes.
"Fuck, teeth." You mumbled it aloud, nearly skidding into the bathroom as you rushed toothpaste on your toothbrush. Your brushing skills resembled more like biting the bristles and pushing the brush around with your tongue as you dragged a light zip up over your shoulders. You groaned in annoyance again as you looked at your face in the mirror closer, makeup smudged and eyes slightly red.
You wrecked through your cabinet like a mini hurricane, searching for redness relief eye drops and wetting your eyes down and hoping it would kick in by the time you got to Satori's dorm room. You crudely wiped at the smudged makeup with a wet tissue, clearing up the smudges just enough that you wouldn't notice unless you were analyzing your face.
You were quick to grab your dorm keys, pulling on a pair of loose shoes before leaving your dorm room with a slam of the door.
You reentered your room almost immediately, muttering curses over and over through a mouth full of toothpaste. You rushed to spit out the toothpaste in your sink, quickly rinsing out your mouth and dropping your toothbrush where it should be and heading for the door again.
"God, fuck." You groaned again, just before you exited your room, rushing back to your bed to grab your phone off your bed. You patted your pockets again, making sure you had your keys still before you finally left your apartment.
Satori's dorm was only in the next building over but you were out of breath by the time you got there. 5 minutes later than you said you would. It wasn't that big of a deal but you took a moment to catch your breath, trying to smooth back your ponytail before knocking on his door.
You shook your hands out a bit, trying to steel your nerves as you bounced on your feet. "Alright, alright, alright. Relax. It's just Satori." You mumbled under your breath, shaking your head at yourself. "We've talked to him before. He's just Eita's teammate. No biggie." You took a shaky breath as you lifted your hand. "Not Serious."
Tumblr media
4:12pm from Semi Semi: this is a terrible idea 4:13pm from Semi Semi: no feelings? 4:17pm from Semi Semi: hello?? are you stupid? 4:21pm from Satori: it'll be fine 4:22pm from Satori: it's not real feelings yet 4:23pm from Satori: i can drop them 4:26pm from Semi Semi: this is a recipe for disaster
Satori glared down at his phone and was tempted to go off on his teammate. He was already nervous that you were late and - His thoughts were interrupted by two sharp knocks on the door. He was almost embarrassed by how quickly he was at the door and opening it, his messaged with Semi abandoned on his desk.
Your hand was barely back down to your side before the dorm door was swinging open. You swallowed roughly as your eyes raked up Satori's form.
He was clad in just a pair of gray sweats, hanging loosely, lowly on his hips so that you could easily see the band of his boxers on display and the deep v that led to it. You trailed your eyes up the bare expanse of his torso, defined muscles flexing as he leaned on the top of the door frame. Your eyes finally flicked up to his face and your breath caught in your chest.
He had his head tilted to the side, lazy smirk stretched across his lips as he peered at you through messy red waves. You'd never seen him with his hair loose from his usual style and you had to say, you were not expecting him to look that good like that.
"Did you want another minute to stare in the hallway, or do you wanna come in here?"
You felt your cheeks heat up in embarrassment as you cleared the lump out of your throat. "Ri-right. Sorry." You laughed awkwardly before stepping towards him.
He leaned out of your way so you could enter his room. You could feel his eyes burning into your figure as he walked in. You toed your shoes off by the door and looked around awkwardly as you wondered whether or not you should sit down at his desk or his-
"You can sit on the bed, you know." He laughed softly, a sound that seemed to shoot relaxation through you just like it had every time he'd spoken to you before. You chuckled softly, dropping yourself onto his bed and crossing your ankles, toes tapping the air in nervousness.
"Sorry, I am, uh," you rubbed the back of your neck awkwardly, "I've never done something like this before." You made your confession quietly.
"We don't have to do-"
"No!" Your shout took both him and yourself off guard as you threw your hands out as if in surrender. Apologies fell from your lips with embarrassment. "Sorry, sorry, just... no. I want to do this. I'm just... nervous."
He chuckled softly and crossed the space in his room easily, nudging your ankles apart to stand between your legs. "That's okay, we can take it slow?" You nodded quietly as you were forced to look up at him, his body looming over yours. His hands brushed against the sides of your jaw, fingers finding the dip behind the bone. You could smell the mint on his breath as he leaned closer. "Can I kiss you then?"
"Please," you mumbled back, holding your breath.

The Tendou Incidents
Where...have you come from?” Ushijima manages.
“Paris.”
It’s not the answer he expects. Though, somehow Paris seems to fit his expectations of the man standing in front of him. “Mm. That is very — ”
“ — Exciting? Glamorous?” the redhead prompts, obviously proud of his globetrotting accomplishment.
“ — Far.”
The man falters for the first time, like he finds Ushijima’s answer odd — despite being even odder himself — and laughs, infectious and hearty, like Ushijima has made some sort of joke.
One fateful day, a colorful, painfully extroverted young man named Tendou Satori moves into the unit above Ushijima's apartment. He's odd, presumptuous, and — most egregious of all — he's shockingly noisy. And the quiet, scheduled routine Ushijima Wakatoshi lives is forever altered.

tendou satori | tendou’s birthday
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"tendou bakes us cakes every year when our birthdays come around. we need to give him something great. especially since we're seeing him 𝘪𝘯 𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘴𝘰𝘯."
ohira was right, there was no point in denying it. tendou needed a great present, and although five former team-mates flying all the way to paris to wish him a happy birthday could be considered big enough of a surprise, shiratorizawa's alumni weren't going to stop at that. tendou's present needed to rival tendou himself in scale and colourfulness.
"i could perform a song," semi suggested eagerly, strumming on an imaginary guitar. "if my guitar doesn't get destroyed in the plane, that is. or i could bring along a ukulele." "i have a feeling tendou would love it," shirabu approved, much less inspired to find a solution for their friend's gift. truth be told, no one on the team was nearly as enthusiastic as tendou when it came to extravagant gifts.
"great, the song will do," ohira decided contentedly. "but there's also something we need to do as a group."
"maybe..." ushijima spoke, his calm, low voice immediately attracting the attention of his friends. "we could bake something for him. it could make him happy that we partake in his interests."
"good idea! but can you bake, ushijima-san?" goshiki inquired, slightly dubious although he appeared convinced by the suggestion.
"no."
"can anyone else?" ohira asked hopefully, looking at his former team-mates in turn. all shook their heads, and shirabu sighed deeply.
"okay. well, this is going to be fun."
"yes." ushijima nodded, much to everyone's amusement.
nobody could really tell whether he truly meant it or simply backed up shirabu's skepticism as regards their baking skills. either way, it seemed like it had been decided - baking it was! and if everything went well, a delicious strawberry shortcake should appear at tendou's table on may the 20th.
*
the plane landed smoothly at paris charles de gaulle airport after twelve long hours. for a professional athlete like ushijima, flying such distances had become common, but most of his friends had spent the first hours of the flight gazing into the windows, amazed by how small tokyo grew underneath them as they went up higher, soon to be surrounded by nothing but the bright blue sky and fluffy hills formed out of white clouds.
they landed in paris on the following day - and first on the agenda was to get all the necessary ingredients to bake a strawberry shortcake. goshiki took care of finding a step-by-step recipe online, while ushijima and ohira were in charge of bribing the hotel staff into lending them cooking utensils and a variety of pots and glasses.
ohira was definitely not above using ushijima's fame to their advantage, and his friend quickly found himself signing autographs and taking pictures with some star-struck employees who had recognized the athelete. wakatoshi's gratefully posed with everyone, and although the incorrigible uneasiness of his smile showed through all the pictures, ohira could tell that he really was doing his best. he patted his oblivious friend's shoulder with a proud smile, and both of them went back upstairs with their arms full of supplies.
meanwhile, semi and shirabu returned from a local supermarket with bags brimming with strawberries, flour, chocolate, and plenty of cream. aprons were tied and whisks were drawn out—for tendou's birthday, they had to give it their all.
*
in the evening, paris came to life in a carnival of lights, the warm hue of lamp-posts merging with the golden headlights of cars. the streets bustled with passers-by and tourists, buzzed with the sound of lively conversations in foreign languages, and vitrines glowed merrily along the boulevards.
"i can't believe tendou gets to work here every day! somehow, it looks even fancier than in the documentary," goshiki commented with stars in his eyes, following ushijima towards the shop tendou worked in. since wakatoshi had been the only one to visit their friend abroad, he steadily led the way.
"moving here sure was a crazy thing to do. but then it's tendou we're talking about," semi chuckled, shaking his head in both admiration and disbelief.
a few minutes later, they were pushing the door of the chocolate shop open and entering a shimmering bubble of warmth and sugary scent. ushijima went up to the counter, clearing his throat softly.
"excuse me," he addressed the cashier in english. "could we see tendou satori? we are friends of his."
"good evening! wait... aren't you..." a small frown creased the young man's brow in spite of his polite smile. "pardon my curiosity, but aren't you ushijima wakatoshi, monsieur tendou's best friend?"
"yes," ushijima's lips slightly curled as he remembered the documentary they had filmed. indeed, tendou and him were best friends.
"i'll go get him. thank you for paying us a visit, monsieur."
"well, isn't it nice, getting recognized like that..." ohira and semi chuckled, exchanging knowing glances. they had always known that ushijima would make it to the top, but seeing it in the flesh was always particularly pleasing. especially in a foreign country.
"wakatoshi-kun! what a surpr-"
tendou emerged from behind a backdoor, all clad in white and wearing his signature toque. but his cheerful exclamation was cut short as soon as his gaze landed on the rest of his former team-mates pressed together in the hall of the shop.
"happy birthday, tendou-san!"
they roared at once, torn between laughter and emotion at the sight of tendou's shocked face. they had not seen each other in person in a very long time, so such a reunion was more than needed.
"everyone..." the usually so upbeat tendou could barely speak, overwhelmed with joy and gratitude.
"happy birthday, best friend," ushijima added stoically—but he truly did mean it—, and handed tendou the carefully packaged gift. "we hope you like it."
"you guys... showing up here..." tendou took the present from wakatoshi, grinning widely as everybody applauded, costumers joining into the unexpected event. "i can't believe you."
tendou set the parcel on a nearby table, untangling the ribbon holding it together, and the open box revealed a creamy white cake more or less decorated with red frosting and strawberries peeking out from the layers of sponge cake. and on top of it, drawn in chocolate, was the image of tendou himself dressed as a chocolatier and holding a volley-ball, with the inscription 'happy birthday tendou-san' written above.
tendou lifted his head back up, looking at his friends and former team-mates, and his eyes shone with tears. of course, the cake could have tasted better had they ordered it in a professional bakery - but nothing could have warmed tendou's heart as much as this. it was the best birthday he ever had.

honestly my favourite ushiten dynamic is:
Tendou: me and wakatoshi started having sex 5 months ago. I'm absolutely in love with him, but its purely physical, hes just blowing off steam and could never actually want to be with someone like me. one day, he'll find someone nice and respectable and settle down and I just need to accept that.
Ushijima: me and Tendou have been dating for five months

"Follow You"

Tumblr media
The afternoon was cloudy with the pavement still freshly soaked from rainfall. Tendou Satori knew he shouldn't be doing this. He shouldn't be walking down this path, he shouldn't be wasting his time like this, and most of all he shouldn't be following you. Well, he was technically stalking you but he doesn't want to be honest with himself. In his defense, this only happened today and he doesn't intend any harm. He could explain that he's only keeping an eye on you, making sure you're safe. He could argue that he has the right to do this because you were his. But his eyes linger on you for more than that reason alone.
His head was haunting him and his heart felt like a ghost. He needs to feel something 'cause he's still so far from home. Tendou hopes you'll cross your heart and hope to die, promise him you'll never leave his side. When you meet each other for lunch the following day, Tendou doesn't mention how he followed you home yesterday. He didn't intend on repeating it so he thinks it's unnecessary to bring it up.
"And then she said..."
You were talking miles per minute and Tendou just listened to you with a loving look in his eye. He could listen to you blabber about the most absurdest things and he'll be beyond contented. Tendou adored everything you did beyond what a normal person would consider. You could consider him obsessed and he won't shy away from that fact. Tendou knows the things that made you smile down to all of the things that make you tick. He knows what makes you laugh and what makes you crinkle your nose in disgust. He knows the flavors you hate and the food you love. He even knows the toothpaste you use. He knows everything that you're willing to put out there.
Tendou found it wild to imagine that he managed to find someone who loves him for how he is, it would be foolish to let you slip away. Evers since he asked you to go to prom with him back in high school, you stuck with him. You stayed with him even after college. You stayed with him despite his flaws. You took him into your arms with no room for hesitation, even if people told you how weird he was, and even if the world showed you how he's not good for you. Show him what he can't see when the spark in your eyes is gone. You got him on his knees he's your one-man cult. Tendou crosses his heart and hopes to die, promise you that he'll never leave your side.
The redhead has always made it his mission to express his love for you in various ways. Making you chocolates, lending you his hoodie, dancing with you in the kitchen, and singing you to sleep. Tendou made sure to reassure you that there was nobody else that made his heart beat so hard that it would break out of his ribcage. He looks at you with a tender stare and a gleam in his eye, 'cause he's telling you you're all he needs. He promises you you're all he sees. He'll never leave.
"Are you sniffing my shirt?"
You enter the room with an amused smirk. Tendou pauses brings your shirt down from his nose and cracks a smile at you through the doorway.
"And what if I am? What are you gonna do?"
"I dunno, punish you?"
"Don't you think I'm already punished enough with you snoring like an elephant?"
"Hey! I don't snore!"
You pout as you throw a pillow at him that you grabbed from the bed. Tendou cackles and discards your shirt on the floor to sprint at you at full speed, you squealed as he scooped you in his arms and attacked you with pecks and kisses. You burst into a fit of giggles even if he went in to bite your right cheek. The two of you decided to spend the afternoon in bed watching a movie and cuddling under the sheets. The film was one of those typical zombie apocalypse ones.
"Satori, would you love me even if I get turned into a zombie?"
"Yeah, I'll even let you bite me"
"Well, that's stupid"
"Huh? Do you want me to keep you around my house and feed you dead humans until I die?"
"Babe, what the hell?"
You laugh at him and he joins. Tendou thinks back at the conversation at the end of the movie, everything he said was serious but he had a feeling you knew that already. He wasn't even trying to hide how he adores you uncontrollably. And he likes it when you say nothing about it and just let him do his thing. Come and sink to him and let him breathe you in. He'll be your gravity, you'll be his oxygen. So dig two graves 'cause when you die, he swears he'll be leaving by your side.
"Happy anniversary, Satori!"
Tendou gasps when you hand him homemade chocolates that you managed to hide from him. He grins from ear to ear and goes to kiss you on the lips before pulling you into a bone-crushing embrace. He opens the box and sniffs the saccharine scent of the chocolates, he pops one in his mouth and all the flavors melt on his palate.
"Baby, this is delicious! Dare I say better than mine"
"Oh my god, really?"
"Uh-huh. Dang, I better watch out or my business is gonna die because of these chocolates"
He jests and you slap his arm with a chuckle. Tendou fetches his anniversary gift for you and hands it to you wrapped in red like his hair with a white bow. You tear off the wrapper to see an expensive black jewelry box and your breath hitches. Tendou bites his lip, a smile already erupting on his face as he watches you eagerly open the box.
"Satori, you didn't..."
"Oh yes I did, my darling"
"This...oh my god, thank you!"
You pounce at him and he laughs. You gave him a few aggressive kisses on his face before staring back at the gift he gave you. It was the necklace you've always wanted since you graduated from college, you remember how you would sigh and complain to Tendou about how your life would be better if you got that necklace. You were beyond astonished that your boyfriend went out of his way to give it to you. Tears well up in your eyes.
"Now now, no need to cry, my dear! Let me help you put the necklace on!"
Tendou carefully takes the necklace and drapes it around your neck, he secures it and then kisses your left temple. You rushed to the mirror to see the necklace glimmer around your neck and swoon at your boyfriend giving you one of his loving looks. You trudge over to him and wrap your arms around his neck as he grabs your waist.
"Thank you, darling"
"Anything for you, [Name]"
You lean towards him to pull him into a quick but passionate kiss. Tendou couldn't possibly be happier. You remain to hold onto him as he sighs softly under your gaze.
"I can't believe I managed to bag someone like you, Satori"
"I should be saying that"
"You'll do anything for me, huh?"
"You can drag me through hell if it meant I can hold your hand"
Tendou says. He will follow you 'cause he's under your spell, and you can throw him to the flames. He will follow you follow you. And from that familiar knowing look in your eye, Tendou knows that you know he will definitely, inevitably follow you.

Tumblr media
You just finished feeding your baby in the nursery before heading down the hallway to check in where your husband was responsible for getting your daughter ready for her first day in school. As you hear him talk, you stop behind the wall, silently leaning against it to take in the slow moment of the morning and listen to two of the three most precious people in your life.
“What do you want for your hair, princess? I was thinking this, maybe?” Tendo said, and you could just imagine him holding up the accessories he thought she looked the cutest with. Your husband might have seemed excited to help her get ready, but you knew him well enough to hear the nervousness behind it. It’s her first day at school and Tendo never had the most luck making friends when he was her age. How unlucky his daughter was to inherit so much of him, he thought sometimes. Curse his insecure thoughts, but he worried for her. “This bow suits your hair colour.” Her fiery red hair.
“Can you do the ballerina bun with the bow, s'il vous plait?” she asked, ever so politely practising her French.
“I can try, but it might not be as good as when your mom does it.” he said with a soft chuckle, already getting the hair gel and proper brush from the cupboard. Your daughter hummed her little songs, reminding you so much of your husband who somehow could follow along with her made-up lyrics.
Satori carefully distributed the tiniest amount of gel he would need throughout her hair and brushed it back, muttering small sorries when it looked like he pulled on some hair he didn’t mean to. After finally getting it in a hair tie, he had to stop and actually breathe. That’s when he noticed a small bump or two on one side, but he knew you could fix that later so he got started on the bun. The final product was nothing short of pretty good.
Your daughter carefully turned around on the step she stood on in front of the sink. “Up, up!” Satori lifted her and spun her around once when she made grabby hands for him to pick her up. Her giggles were such a joy that always filled your house with love. Satori was already thinking that they needed to take lots of pictures before you all left, but then his daughter's arms blocked his vision of the mirror. She was less carefully placing a matching bow in his hair, which the hair clip could barely hold on to at this length. It had grown out a bit since he shaved it last, so the clip held on for now. Pulling her hands back, she smiled at him and clapped. “It suits our hair colour, daddy!”
And when he looked at his beautiful daughter, he didn’t just see what he used to dislike about himself. He also saw so much of you. Your nose, your smile, your love. His daughter is really the most perfect thing he ever laid his eyes on, except maybe you.
Maybe he should trust that the universe has a plan for her, just like it gifted him with this family. His paradise.
“Let’s go make some new friends, miracle girl.”

Warning(s): Reader is kinda egoistic here- (is this even a warning?), No beta we die like men.
A/N: “Outcast x Perfect” trope is my new obsession.
Tumblr media
Tendou crushing on the resident pretty (pronoun), you were no doubt the prettiest out of them all, inside and out, not only were your looks admired by both girl and boys of the school, your smartness and wisdom is also highly praised by teachers as well. And to add the cherry or do he say cherries on top? You were kind, confident and friendly and every other positive adjective there is in the dictionary. People say you were perfect as you walk pass them in the school hallway, saying hello with a small smile and a little wave, making everyone’s heart fluttered, that includes him as well.
Because you’re so perfect, naturally he would stay away from you as far as possible, not because he hates you, no no, how can he hate someone that’s been so nice to him since the day he walk into this school? But because he doesn’t want his reputation to taint yours. Someone like you deserve someone as equally perfect (even though it’s impossible in his eyes) not some weirdo kid whose nickname literally had the word “monster” in it. He thought that you wouldn’t even think of him when it comes to the dating world, when there’re so many better people you could choose from, so with a heavy sigh, he walks away from you, hoping that this big puppy crush would eventually go away.
What he didn’t know that you on the other hand, is racking your head around why? Just why did your crush, Tendou Satori, would ignored you?! You know your reputation, you know that people will always look at you, notice you, but why is he different?! Why does he makes your life so difficult all of a sudden?!
“Maybe he’s just shy, just in denial!” You thought. Yeah, that’s the case, there’s no way your perfectness didn’t effect him (you were correct), you just need to be with him more! Then when he’s in your present long enough, he’ll crack and confess to you! Yeah!
You squealed at the idea, you can already imagine a flustered Satori confessing to you, worrying that you would reject him because of his reputation, and you would say yes, of course you will! People that say that he’s weird and creepy didn’t understand anything about him at all, but you do, and you’ll make your he does too!
“Tendou Satori! You’ll be my boyfriend one day!”
