a small reminder that...
...not every problem can be solved instantly.
...not every problem is real.
...not every problem is a roadblock.
some problems can be temporary. others can be based on our assumptions, while some can be a blessing in disguise.
take a deep breath. you've got this ✨

More Life Hacks to Brighten Your Days (ASD)
I'm back with more life hacks that have made my days brighter. I hope they can do the same for you:
Noise-Canceling Headphones: If you're sensitive to noise, investing in a pair of noise-canceling headphones can be a game-changer. They can help you create a quiet, peaceful environment no matter where you are.
Color Coding: Color coding can be a great way to organize your thoughts, tasks, or belongings. It can make visual processing easier and add a fun, creative element to your day.
Weighted Blankets: Many people on the autism spectrum find weighted blankets comforting. They can help reduce anxiety and improve sleep.
Fidget Tools: Keep a fidget tool in your pocket for moments when you need to stim but want to be discreet. There are many types of fidget tools available, from spinners to sensory rings.
Digital Reminders: Use your phone or digital device to set reminders for tasks, appointments, or even self-care activities. This can help take the stress out of remembering everything.
Safe Space: Create a 'safe space' in your home where you can retreat when things get overwhelming. This could be filled with comforting items, like soft pillows, favorite books, or calming lights.
Self-Care Routine: Develop a self-care routine that you enjoy. This could include activities like drawing, listening to music, taking a bath, or anything else that helps you relax and recharge.
Remember, everyone is different, and what works for one person might not work for another. It's all about finding what works best for you. Feel free to share your own life hacks!

Listen up, chucklefucks! The FRUGAL LIFEHACKER is here to teach yo' ass' how to stretch your food dollar, with ten tips anyone can use, unless you're some goddamn ROCKEFELLER or something.
Look for discarded sandwiches on benches. If they only have one bite taken out of them they're probably still good. Two, also. Three if they're small
Consider making a garden to grow your food yourself. Then again if you have space and money for a garden you've got to have Rockefeller money, and you shouldn't be reading this then
If you have a generic enough face you can get invited to a lot of dinners. Just let them call you whatever name they say you are and say you got amnesia after college
Go to a grocery store. Go behind a grocery store. Go to the dumpster. Root around in it. Find documents incriminating the night manager in a fraud related to vintage Pog sales. Blackmail him for treats
There's a building called a "food pantry". God, it's so disgusting that some rich asshole could have a whole building for a pantry. Back your van up to it in the middle of the night and "redistribute the wealth" into your pantry
See someone eating a sandwich, hamburger, or a hot-n-ready pizza from Little Caesar's? Well, ask yourself this: do they look like they need food more than you? If the answer is no, then lifehack their face a bit and take their lunch
Sometimes if you lifehack their face a bit too hard, you may end up with some...extra protein on your lunch. Bonus lunch! Take that, Rockefellers!
Hide in a clump of trees in a park and look for people walking a dog. Small dogs are the easiest, big dogs are the most rewarding but hardest to st...liberate from their captors. It's so disgusting how our society imprisons animals for our own vanity, we must rethink our relationship to animals. Anyway once you get far enough away, you eat the dog
Double lifehack: the bones will make a wonderful decoration for your home, or lair in the woods! But make sure there's no meat on them anymore, we aren't a goddamn Rockefeller
Dumbass animals sometimes get run over by cars. So here's what you do. You scrape the roadkill off the road, right? And you take it home with you. If you happen to have a state-of-the-art genetics lab at your house, you can just culture the cells of the roadkill and produce artificially grown meat ad nauseam. God, saving money on groceries is THAT EASY and nobody even TRIES.

I think the best part of 2022 for me after getting ADHD diagnosis is probably discovering home optimisation tricks aka how to have adhd-friendly house.
here’s some of the list I could think on top of my head now :
1. The concept of open wardrobe, cabinet, and closet to help object impermanence.
2. Sticker label at every corner of your house as reminder (turning off the switch, close the door, etc).
3. Hang dangling keychain at cabinet on top of your head so after you open it, as you see something dangling, it will catch your attention to close the cabinet door.
4. Hang every washed clean clothes after laundry using hanger instead of folding it.
5. Have a basket system for dirty laundry and clean laundry.
6. Changing tatami bed style (the one where the bed is on the floor) to loft bed, because being on the floor can be bad for ADHD productivity AND having higher bed introduces some challenges to make rest better.
7. The 5 minutes rule : if you can get it done in 5 minutes, then you have to do it immediately. Example, hanging your outside clothes after coming back home only take less than 5 minutes, so you do it immediately so that you don’t just pile them on the floor or on the sofa.
Anything else that I miss?
Share yours here.
I might update this post whenever I found new cool ways of optimizing my home.

39 Best Websites to Find Free Textbooks, Research Papers, Study Guides, and Books
Whether you’ve just received a long list of textbooks you need for a specific uni class or are looking for a particular book/research paper for a high school project, books (and journal subscriptions) can be expensive.
The good news is that there are plenty of resources online where you can find free PDF versions of most written materials, starting with Atkinson & Hilgard’s Introduction to Psychology and ending with Shakespeare’s Macbeth.
Note that although some of the websites below provide access to copyright-free texts only, or texts that publishers/authors have agreed to share freely, others have been accused of internet privacy.
However, many people see open access practices as morally acceptable, especially considering the unsustainable prices of academic textbooks and papers.
To quote a recent paper on the topic:
"Since shadow libraries are a product of the cooperation between scholars, who contribute texts and other resources (such as donations, volunteer work, etc.), shadow libraries represent a ‘bottom-up’, radical approach to open access: a physical approximation of the Platonic ideal of knowledge sharing that would exist if there were no legal, economic, or institutional barriers to the circulation of scholarly knowledge."

Magic spell to find lost items:
When searching fails carefully and as accurately as possible make a drawing of the item. Calm yourself as you draw and focus on the form and materials of the item. Label it. You should find it soon after. (IDK why this works but it *does*— should it fail you have made a poster that will help others to help you find it. )

HEADCANON! :
When Tails first molt as a baby, Sonic will panic and start looking for YouTube videos like "Top 10 ways to clean cat hair off furniture!" or "Handmade hair scratcher" and Tails will lie in bed and whimper quietly, begging to be held( our dog is sometimes less active during the molt, also sometimes melancholy, so I made up Tails from our dog's behavior lol)
Tails will try to pull out tufts of fluff, and freak out that he's dying of an unknown disease, until Sonic tells what it's his first spring molting and pulls himself a bunch of quills out of head.
Then they'll buy a bunch of huge garbage bags and brush out Talis' down with handmade hairbrushes, and then to top it all off, Sonic will put one of the bags on his head and shake it back and forth to drop the rest of the quills. Then they'll do a general cleanup.
(By the way, a lifehack from me, who lives in the same room as a doggie: if you don't have a sticky roller, make a ring out of duct tape and pat it onto clothes or furniture with several times. Just don't forget to change the tape when there's too much fluff :D).

More Life Hacks to Make Your Days Even Brighter (ASD)
Noise-Filtering Apps:
While noise-canceling headphones are great, sometimes they might not be practical. In such cases, noise-filtering apps can help you focus by playing ambient sounds or white noise through your regular earphones.
Visual Timers:
Time management can be challenging. Visual timers, available as physical devices or apps, can help you better understand the passage of time through visual cues.
Sensory-Friendly Clothing:
Opt for clothes made from soft, breathable fabrics that don't have tags or seams that could irritate your skin. Some brands specialize in sensory-friendly clothing.
Aromatherapy:
If you find certain scents calming, consider using an essential oil diffuser in your living space. Make sure to choose oils that you find soothing.
Task Decomposition:
Breaking down tasks into smaller, manageable parts can make them less overwhelming. Use a task management app or a simple notepad to list these smaller tasks.
Virtual Social Interaction:
If face-to-face social interactions are stressful, try starting with virtual interactions. Video calls, online forums, or multiplayer video games can be a less stressful way to socialize.
Chewelry:
If you find oral stimulation calming, consider investing in chewelry—jewelry designed to be safe to chew on.
Emotional Check-in Apps:
Sometimes, it's hard to identify what you're feeling. Emotional check-in apps can prompt you to assess your emotional state at different times, helping you become more aware of your emotions and triggers.
DIY Sensory Box:
Create a small, portable sensory box filled with items that help you self-regulate. This can be a quick go-to when you're feeling overwhelmed.
Mindfulness Techniques:
Mindfulness can help you become aware of your sensory experiences and emotional state. There are apps and online courses designed specifically for neurodiverse individuals.
Remember, these are just suggestions. What works for one person may not work for another, so feel free to adapt these hacks to better suit your needs. Your journey is your own, and it's okay to find your own path to comfort and happiness.

Currently exploring Time Tree calendar app to track the pain scale for my migraine. I LOVE love the part where I can edit the Label List and shift it as my pain scale label and arrange them according to colours + level.
Tumblr media
BUT-
the best part of this app is that I can create separate calendars; one shared with housemates, one for work, one personal AND have notification sets at variety of timings.
And then you can also set for other people who are in the shared calendar as you. So if we have to remind our housemates about not being around, we will just enter the thing in the calendar and then have it pop in their notifications as reminder.
If you have ADHD or struggle with executive dysfunctions, it shifts the responsibility alone on you to others to help remind you as well as you with others.
