been seeing some anthro designs of the current blorbos and i can’t stop thinking about an au for it. so, to get it outta my brain;
(i guess this is a college au?)
—dogday and catnap as adoptive brothers, with a big group of friends (the critters, who are mostly dogday’s friends that tolerate catnap), the cat is primarily mute and allows his brother to do the talking for the both of them.
—catnap was kidnapped when he and dogday were kids. he was 5, and he was missing for five years. to their credit, his family never gave up hope of finding him. when he was found, he was dazed, stumbling along the road, malnourished, and bleeding from shallow wounds on his arms and legs. his vocal chords had been fried through the forced inhalation of some strange drug, and he couldn't speak at all for a good long while after. catnap and his adopted family learned sign language (and though his voice healed somewhat as he got older, he still prefers not to use it). despite getting better, his voice maintains a raspy, whispery quality.
—catnap was obviously traumatized by his time away and refused to talk about it. it was deduced that he'd been taken by an infamous cult in the area and indoctrinated. a very close eye was kept on him throughout the rest of his grade school life. with no behavioral problems beyond a lack of speech and general closed-off attitude, most write off any weird behavior of his as a result of his trauma. he maintains a close relationship with his brother, he works nightshifts at a gas station, and stays out of trouble. supposedly.
—(catnap's a serial killer. he destroys anyone with a target placed on them by his god; a being the cult calls "the prototype." the cult conditioned him to be their executioner. catnap still smokes the opium-based drugs fed to him all those years ago, now sent to him discreetly by the cult; to help him "see what the prototype wants him to see," and "enact his will." his almost-full immunity allows him to use the smoke to knock out his victims by casually taking a drag and blowing it into their faces (he then either kills them right then or takes them to the cult to be sacrificed).
—dogday is a bright, happy fella who makes friends with almost anyone. he's a favorite on campus, a sweet guy who radiates sunshine and maintains a large group of friends. he has a massive crush on y/n, a newcomer to his school, and immediately integrates them into his circle (he calls them angel, something about them "saving" him from some accident? no one is really sure what happened there). he's terrible at hiding just how smitten he is, and his friends tease him when y/n isn't around. dogday swears he'll confess, but he gets so flustered and nervous about messing up their relationship. it doesn't help that his angel is so oblivious to his love (bobby does her best to try and nudge y/n towards dogday, but it never seems to click). y/n and dogday are very close despite all this tension.
—catnap likes y/n too, in his quiet way. he'll stand with them when the group is together, resting his chin on the top of their head or leaning on them while everyone stands around and talks. he sits next to them in the library while bubba tutors dogday in math, resting his head on the desk and watching y/n read out of his peripheral. he likes how quiet they are. they're so...so gentle with him, without being condescending or infantalizing him. he appreciates the care they show him. he wants all the attention they'll give him.
he also likes that they're a little scared of him.
some more ideas:
—both boys are close to y/n and spend a lot of time with them, without the rest of their friends.
—y/n becomes one of the only people catnap won't kill. he's gotten attached.
—happening in a universe where monsters and humans coexist. not a ton of division, but there's a monster side of town (where the buildings are much bigger to accommodate larger bodies) and a human side.
—you think catnap is the only dangerous one until you see how dogday reacts to y/n being harmed in some way. like catnap is the obviously dangerous one you don't take your eyes off of but then you catch dogday outta your peripheral about to clock you with a pipe
—dogday is an absolutely wonderful partner, so devoted and loyal, and willing to throw hands if given a reason to (a big surprise to anyone who thinks he's just the "nice" one). y/n isn't completely oblivious to his affection, but is hesitant to act on any feelings they have; while most monsters don't mind human/monster relationships, there are plenty of humans that disapprove. they don't want dogday to be harassed because of them.
—a scene where catnap forcefully shotguns red smoke into y/n’s mouth to knock them out cause he thinks it’d make them happier to not have to “worry so much" and take a nap w/ him (also he wants a lil kiss and can't be normal about it). or maybe he's tryna kidnap them or smth. y/n doesn't really remember much when catnap does this, and writes it off as catnap's drowsy nature rubbing off on them when they wake up after an unexpected snooze.
—catnap doesn't like being touched usually. his brother and y/n are the exceptions.
—it's very subtle, and noone would notice if they weren't watching them closely, but both catnap's and dogday's pupils get a bit bigger when looking at y/n. two overgrown, lovesick housepets.

I think Luz's trauma due to being an abuse victim gets ignored a lot in favor of other characters. Luz has an odd role in the fandom as this character who other characters rely on, or who isn't an abuse victim but is supportive of her friends who are, and I think that ends up missing a huge part of her story.
Belos compliments her a lot, which is partially because he wants to reach out to her and mostly because he thinks he can manipulate her. He does some backhanded compliments, telling her she's improved but she still has work to do to catch up to him. He also thanks her quite a few times. The way he thanks her intentionally triggers her guilt, especially when he thanks her for helping him with Hunter. He also compliments her to put other people down, like when he tells her she's "better than this" (implying their race makes them morally superior).
He also uses the same manipulation tactic on Luz that he does on Hunter, although it doesn't work as well on her. He tries to remove his own agency for his physical violence by blaming the Curse. The biggest example is in King's Tide, when he pretends he can't hear her as he's racing after her to try and kill her. He ends up cutting her face while pretending to be out of control and then in the same sequence has full control and clarity to talk to Hunter and the Collector. He gaslights Luz by trying to make it seem like it was The Curse causing him to act in the way he did.
He refers to Luz as "crazy" to invalidate her emotions and harming Hunter in front of her also is a form of abuse. He's obviously aware that hurting Hunter traumatizes Luz (and everyone else) but as his focus transfers from Hunter to Luz in Hollow Mind, he starts targeting her specifically by harming Hunter to hurt her (especially in TTT). Belos shifts the blame for events from himself to Luz and also attempts to make her feel guilty. Hunter seems to understand that Luz is also being abused and tries to reassure her that Belos is an abuser and she shouldn't take what he says at face value. Luz ends up taking that advice to heart after she's able to forgive herself and face Belos. She doesn't speak to him but is able to hear his manipulation tactics and just. stare at him bc he's full of bullshit.
Just because he 'only' hits her a few times and isn't her guardian doesn't mean he can't abuse her or that he didn't. It's not really a protagonist-antagonist relationship as much as it is "adult man nuking 14 year old repeatedly until she becomes god and kills him". The idea that child abuse can only come from parents and not role models or other adults in your life is odd, because he distinctly holds a position of power over her (literally an Emperor and an adult who intentionally isolates her and the other kids alone to abuse them) and uses it to emotionally and physically harm her.
Papa Titan has to reassure her that she's okay to kill Belos because he's literally a serial killer who's lying about his intentions. Luz still slightly falls for Belos's sympathetic line until that moment because he very intentionally tried to get her to feel bad for him and also feel guilt about herself.
This is also why I really detest any fandom takes where Belos canonically is supposed to care about her, or Luz owes him anything. Manipulation is not sympathetic. Belos committed premeditated murder and then used the remains of his murder victim to try to make a "Better Version" of his murder victim which was actually just a way to punish him repeatedly and keep taking out revenge on kids who had nothing to do with the original conflict. Belos is Luz's abuser also, and Luz doesn't owe him any sort of kindness or consideration and her anger is valid.
Luz is an abuse victim of Belos's in addition to Hunter and the Collector (and Vee/Lilith by extension), and she should be considered as such rather than her trauma being invalidated in favor of other characters.

Honestly how do you think the sexually active characters like Angel Dust, Verosika, Valentino, Stolas would react to their lover not really caring about the sex they have but rather their relationship as lovers (Also I love your work and im not saying that to be nice your work speaks for itself, good job you earned those thousand followers)
Their reaction to an S/O that cares more about romance then Sex
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Angel Dust
He was... kind of unnerved.
The idea of you wanting to be with him just for him, was kinda terrifying.
What If you got past all the glitz and glamour, All the manicured furr and fluff, and sex appeal and found... someone you didn't love.
And took a long, long time to get through that insecurity. Angel taking a lot of comforting and assurance that you, in fact, loved him for him. Not just for what he could do in the bedroom.
Honestly, when he realised as much. That you truly loved him for him and not his sexual prowess. He'd Probably break down crying.
I imagine the spider clinging to you, just bawling his eyes out. The spider clinging to you, desperately not wanting you to leave him.
He would become very protective of you, the spider finally finding someone who genuinely loved him, and was determined to keep you.
So if another bitch so much as looked at you, hed be in there face. Making sure everyone in a three block radius knows you belong to him.
Angel would tell he could be honest with you. The spider exposing his more sensitive side, allowing himself to be vulnerable with you.
The spider confided in you, able to trust you with his secrets and traumas, and there were many.
And while your relationship was not based around sex, something that made Angel smile every time he thought about it. Angel still very much enjoyed Sex.
He was a very physical person, and knowing that you didn't just love his physicality, well, that only made him more physical, specifically with you.
And every time you asked if he really wanted to do it, or if he was enjoying it, it only made him live you more, the spider feeling safe when with you.
Verosika
Verosika was, well, she is, A sex demon.
The woman was a Succubus. The most lustful, lewd and perverted beings in hell, only rivalled by Incubus and Asmodeus, obviously.
So being in a relationship with someone who wasn't really interested in sex, it was strange.
Alien really. At least for her.
She'd never met anyone who wasn't interested in her for her body. I mean, sure she'd met a lot of gay dudes and straight women, although women were a lot like spaghetti around her.
Straight until wet.
She loved that joke, and initially, when you'd asked her out, taking her to a fairly nice restaurant, she was expecting more of the same.
But out on the date and well, you spoke.
Not chit-chat, or make small talk, you actually spoke to one and other.
You told stories, spoke about your week and had a genuine conversation. It was odd for her, as the most sophisticated conversation she'd usually have was with her entourage, either about her latest escapade, or her next performance.
But she found herself actually speaking to you, telling you about things shed never really told anyone about, mostly because no one had ever asked.
Youd have a lovely meal, still chatting, before you'd walk her home. And well, you just give her a kiss, promising to do it again some time.
That had left a weird feeling in her gut, as on one hand she had really wanted to sleep with you. But on the other, she really loved that you didn't just fuck on the first date.
And you would go on another date, the two of you seeing a movie.
It was a simple rom-com, the theatre practically empty, the two of you quickly getting bored, and when Verosika asked if maybe, you'd like to "have a little fun" *Wink Wink*
Youd just politely refused, instead asking about her week. The girl once again, was taken off guard, but happily ranted about her week, the two of you having another lovely conversation.
Youd again walked her home, but this time she'd invite you in for coffee.
She had intended on seducing you, but ended up just spending your time talking again, it getting so late, she offered for you to stay over.
And while she had slunk into bed, intent on doing dirty things, she would end up dozing off curled into your side.
Youd continue on a very romantic relationship, the woman pleasantly surprised by your rather seamless relationship, the woman feeling like what you had was real.
It wasn't just a sex filled fling. It was a tender, loving and intimate romance something she admittedly took some time to get used to, but it wasn't long until she loved you as much as she knew you loved her, the woman surprisingly happy not having to have sex to keep your relationship alive.
Thats not to say you didn't have sex, because you absolutely did.
Valentino
Youd meet in a club, the two of you striking up a conversation.
He was honestly caught up by your rather charming conversational skills. You were quite the conversationalist, the Overlord quite intrigued by you, finding himself wanting to speak to you further.
Eventually he'd invite you up to his place, you happily joining him.
Youd go up to his penthouse, the Overlord proudly giving you a tour of his fancy penthouse.
You'd end up in the kitchen, the Overlord genuinely stumped at how he ended up with a cup of coffee in his hand, the two of you talking at his table.
He was surprised at how comfortable he was with you. The Overlord telling you about his day to day, ranting about all the shit he has to deal with on a daily bases with surprising ease, the man finding himself very comfortable with you.
He'd eventually ask you out, you happily accepting.
He'd take you out to a fine meal at only the finest of restaurants, the two of you having a wonderful night out.
You would talk, eat delicious food and drink even finer spirits. Afterwards you would go back to his place, and well, you'd make sweet, sweet love.
You continue seeing each other for the next few months, going out on several more dates, your relationship getting closer and closer, the man amazed at how little sex you had.
It wasn't so much the absence of sex, hed dated flinty of fridget bitched, but his reaction. He didn't mind it. Not one bit.
The man found himself loving your relationship, even though he usually despised serious relationship, instead preferring it loose and fast, bit with you, he loved your relationship.
The man felt as though your relationship actually meant something, you never all to Interested in his glamorous lifestyle.
In fact, you spent almost all time together... he dare say, being traditionally romantic and shit.
Youd go on simple, but romantic dates, and you spent great lengths just speaking, the man shocked to find how much he just needed to say shit, venting about his day.
And of course, he'd spoil you, treating you to every luxury at his disposal.
But he didn't need to. And that's what he loved about you. You enjoyed your time together just... by being together.
Stolas
Stolas was the apology of a lovable owl.
Your first meeting was very fumbly. You'd be at a royal gathering, you managing to stumble your way in, ending up at a table enjoying the free wine.
That's when you'd see the owl, the man just sitting there, staring at his drink.
Seeing him like that, you'd strike up a conversation. And while initially taken aback, the man would quickly engage in conversation, the man happily chatting with you, especially when you seemed to genuinely engage with him.
Youd talk, laugh, exchange stories and just generally enjoyed the conversation. The owl finding himself genuinely caught up in your conversation, greatly enjoying your company.
But, as they tend to do, all good things come to an end. The two of you prepared to go your separate ways as the party began to disperse.
But on an impulse decision, Stolas would ask if he could see you again. You, a little caught off guard, agreed, telling him a time and place, the owl eagerly agreeing.
It'd be a few days later when you had your first 'date', the two of you meeting up at a coffee shop, the two of you finding a booth and before chatting.
Youd had a very genuine back and forth, you asking about life as an Goetia. And of course he put up a brave face, you could tell he was putting up a brave face, it not taking a lot of pushing before he broke down a little, telling you how difficult and stressful his life was.
All the petty BS he went through every day before lunch. It could get so bad, he felt like tearing his hair out.
Hearing this, and wanting to help the poor man, you'd decide he needed to unwind.
And you would unwind by taking him out clubbing. Now your first step was a change of clothes, you getting a mismatch of what he so humbly called "peasant garb", the owl almost unrecognisable in a mismatch outfit.
Youd go to a club. You'd drink, you'd dance, Stolas being absolutely free to be himself. And he would go ape.
By the end of the night, the Owl would be totally exhausted, and loved it. The owl grabbing you and giving you a big kiss, the man thanking you.
Youd welcome the man, before kissing him back, the two of you spending the night together.
That would mark the beginning of your relationship. And a romantic relationship it was.
Your relationship was very much based on romance, you and your owl absolutely loving each other.
Youd meet up a few times a week, usually at a bar or Cafe, the two of you spending hours upon hours just speaking.
Youd listen as he ranted about his day, or lamented on an aspect of his life. You happy to listen or give advice, explaining it from your perspective.
And while these conversations were all good, your bonding time really came when you went out.
Now granted, you had to be subtle about it, but you'd often go out together, usually with Stolas in more "peasant garb". Not wanting to get attention in his royal garb.
You went to parks, to movies, Stolas especially like bargain shopping. Going through used and obviously stolen goods, you'd often have contests on who could find the weirdest things, Stolas somehow winning most of the time. The man usually keeping the strange item as a memento.
You had such a romantic relationship, the two of you opening up on a very intimate level.
The man found a confidant in you, the man venting, opening up to you about his deepest darkest secrets.
The man confiding in you about his forced marriage, or his abysmal relationship with his father, big shocker from a noble I know. Or how Octavia was the only truly good thing in his life.
If Stolas prayed to anyone, you'd be the answer to those prays.
Youd be exactly what the man needed, allowing him some much needed intimacy, the man absolutely adoring his time with you.
And of course, you'd have sex. But your sex was always tender, loving and deeply intimate.
Youd truly, make love.

Thinking about Toki's character arc in Metalocalypse...
Now that Metalocalypse is officially over, or so it seems, I wanted to go over what Army of the Doomstar means for Toki's growth.
Warnings for spoilers for, well, the entirety of Metalocalypse.
So, over the course of the show, we see Toki repeatedly trying (and failing) to form a meaningful bond with several living beings, people and animals included.
Tumblr media
Analysis under the cut ⬇️
Season 1
It starts with a dying little girl called Juliette Sarmangsadandle in Dethkids (S1E16). Toki is upset over being misunderstood aka his public image being associated with kids and vehemently fights the idea by adopting an edgy personality.
When he watches Juliette's video, about being a child that longs for violence, it speaks to him and his childhood. Toki feels seen by this little girl and imagines his child self singing with her.
Tumblr media
Sadly, when he goes out to meet her, she's already dead. Here goes Toki's first attempt at connection, utterly butchered.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In the following episode, we're introduced to Rockzo in Dethclown (S1E17). Toki brings his clown friend over and everyone pretty much almost instantly dislikes him. Not to mention Rockzo tries to betray Dethklok for drugs. Still, he sticks around for the remainder of the show as Toki's friend.
Tumblr media
Though it's important to mention how much of that friendship involves Rockzo abusing Toki's kindness and generally being a shitty person. He's not exactly someone Toki can rely on.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
It is not that significant but I'd also like to give a shout out to Dethwater (S1E02), where Toki is locked in an oxygen chamber and sings to the fishes and creatures in the sea. It's an early episode, but already portrays Toki's friendly nature and colorful life outlook.
Tumblr media
Season 2
In season 2, we have Dethlessons (S2E02). After having a disagreement with Skwisgaar's teaching method, Toki meets Dimneld Selftcark. Though initially wanting him as guitar teacher, it's clear Toki doesn't actually intend to perfect his craft and more than anything appreciates his company. Toki even refers to him as 'a father friend'.
Tumblr media
However, as luck would have it, Selftcark is ill and dies in Toki's arms after Toki gave his first recital.
Tumblr media
Then there's Dethdad (S2E15), where Toki learns that his dad is dying of cancer. Toki is very much visibly affected by his parents' abuse towards him, though he still decides to pay his father a visit. When Toki finally gains the courage to see him and bond one last time, his father requests to see the cottage he was born at before dying.
Tumblr media
Unfortunately, Toki steps and slips on his way there, dropping his father into the ice. Toki watches his father die and is unable to do anything about it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
This boy is really just collecting traumas all the way, huh?
Season 3
Dethhealth (S3E03) has Toki adopting a cat he found at a concert. Although he is not the best caretaker of the animal, Toki is very obviously fond of his new pet.
Tumblr media
But, of course, the cat was dying, solving the mystery of who was the person dying within Dethklok. Toki is so devastated that he faints and then proceeds to have an elaborate dream sequence for closure.
Tumblr media
Fertilityklok comes three episodes later (S3E06) and we find a Toki jaded with casual sex encounters. He decides he wants to meet a partner whom he can have children with. Though initially facing Dethklok's indignation, Toki goes forward with the idea and lands in a dating agency.
They find the perfect partner for Toki but nothing ever goes well with this guy and the lady in question disappoints Toki both in looks and personality. To make things worse, the agency wants to force him in a relationship with her and for Toki to impregnate her, even.
Tumblr media
Toki manages to escape the whole charade and decides he's better off with sluts. This one is not so tragic as much as it's just another total failure at forming the connection Toki so desperately craves.
Tumblr media
Season 4
Diversityklok (S4E04) and Bookklok (S4E05) feature Toki's interpersonal problems within the band so I figured they were mentioning as well.
In Diversityklok, Toki complains about feeling constantly left out by the band, so he forms a 'special persons invite club' to gain agency over his friends. He still ends up being forgotten by them at the end of the episode.
Tumblr media
In Bookklok, Toki has a fallout with Skwisgaar after being denied a solo and writes a book denouncing his behavior towards him. In modern lingo, he essentially cancelled Skwisgaar. He fails to consistently maintain the fans' approval as he flunks the solo he so desperately wanted. His fight with Skwisgaar is not resolved (at least, not on screen).
Tumblr media
Finally we get to Dethcamp (S4E07), where Toki's erratic behavior conflates with the mainline plot. In the search for friends, Toki goes to the Rock-a-Rooni Fantasy Camp, where he's almost killed by one of the campers. He's saved by Dethklok's former rhythm guitarist, Magnus Hammersmith and they subsequently become friends.
Tumblr media
Good ending? No, Magnus stabs and kidnaps Toki over Roy Cornickleson's funeral, his fate being unknown as the season ends.
Tumblr media
Doomstar Requiem
We finally learn how Toki joined the band. He showed up late to Dethklok's auditions and had a guitar duel with Skwisgaar, where he eventually lost. Defeated, he was abandoning the premises when Skwisgaar says that nobody made him play as well as Toki did, inviting him to join the band.
Tumblr media
From then on, it's all rainbows and happiness for Toki as his life finally takes a turn for the better. He has found a family and a home. He loves his brothers and his life. Current Toki is on the brink of death and thinking about Dethklok is his only solace.
Tumblr media
I might be biased in saying this but the sequence from 'I Believe' feels like the peak of the movie, and I don't think this is incidental.
While Toki is rescued at the end of the movie, we don't get to see a proper reunion.
Tumblr media
Army of the Doomstar
Cut to 10 years later, Army of the Doomstar releases and while the plot is much about the end of the world, we get to see post-DSR Toki.
First of all, at the start of AOTD it is stated that Toki (as well as the rest of the band besides Nathan) has forgotten about what happened during Doomstar Requiem. However, his attitude towards the band is very loving, stating he's happy to be back with them.
Tumblr media
He's especially fond towards Skwisgaar, attempting to hug him multiple times, worrying and being generally attentive of him. Toki shows both verbal and physical affection towards Skwisgaar over the course of the movie, finalizing in the bridal carry during the before last scene. Compared to the show, it's a huge contrast to their relationship, where Skwisgaar and Toki behaved as rivals, with Toki feeling simultaneously admiration and envy towards Skwisgaar.
Tumblr media
But what are you trying to say with all of this, Basu? Well, essentially it's the following:
At some point, Toki started feeling neglected by the band and began seeking love from outside sources. The childhood companion he never had (Juliette), a father figure (Selftcark), his actual father, a pet, a girlfriend and finally...an actual friend he could rely on (Magnus). All of the aforementioned failed, eventually landing him in an even worst situation where he started.
Tumblr media
However, being stuck there, wounded, malnourished and dying is what reminded him of the best time of his life. Of the people most important to him. And even if those memories were seemingly gone, the feeling prevailed.
Sure, Dethklok is massively flawed and there's lot of work they have to do with regards to interpersonal relationships, but they're his family and his life. Perhaps the lifestyle or his need for ego/power (Skwisgaar plays a big hand in this) made him forget about it for a second, but he knows it now. He doesn't need to look for love from strangers, he already has it in them. They're everything he's always wanted and he's going to cherish them for the rest of his life.
And if you're wondering why the special emphasis on Skwisgaar, my theory has to do with the age regressing that was confirmed in the movie. While it mostly happened over the Ishnifus funeral, I think Toki has generally gone back to the emotional state he was in when he joined Dethklok. A young, easily impressionable man happy to finally have found a family.
Which means he holds Skwisgaar in special regard, considering he is the guy that accepted him into the band. Not Nathan, Pickles or Murderface, it was Skwisgaar.
Tumblr media
You could almost say that Toki might view Skwisgaar as his hero, given that he is the reason Toki has everything he has right now. So I think Toki's gratefulness is expressing in that almost overwhelming affection. Just like Toki's not going to let himself forget his feelings for the band, he's not going to let them forget about his feelings, either. It might not be easy, but Toki's priorities are clear now. His heart is with Dethklok.
Tumblr media
In short, even if Army of the Doomstar didn't address Toki's issues the way we would've wanted, it's still a happy outcome for him and I fully believe he'll have more than enough to work on them. Metalocalypse is, at its core, a story about found family. This is specially true for Toki.
So, I really believe that Toki is eventually going to heal and be happy with the band. :)

I see a lot of people on Tiktok get mad at Lyney and Lynette for supposedly not having a super close relationship to Freminet, but like..
I feel like they do have a close relationship to him. I've never seen them actively try to ignore or shut out Freminet like some Tiktok Freminet fans would make you believe.
People forget that Lyney and Lynette are TWINS. Blood-related twins. And they're also bonded by trauma on top of that. Them being closer to each other than with Freminet would be a given. They've experienced the horrors and joys of the world together, and met Freminet during that journey. Their relationship with eachother would always be different than what their relationship with Freminet would be like. But that doesn't mean they don't care about Freminet, either:
Just by looking at their voiceovers, implications in character stories, and how they interact in official videos.. they do care A LOT about Freminet. Is it the same level of constant and consistent checking-in that two traumatized twins do? No! But that doesn't mean Freminet is unloved! And a good way to see that is just by looking at Freminets opinions on them.
Tumblr media
These are his opinions about Lyney.
Lyney shows Freminet every single new card trick he comes up with, the second Freminet cracks the smallest smile, Lyney knows his tricks are going to be great. Lyney is happy that he could make Freminet actually feel joy! Lyney also goes out of his way to go to Freminet, and show him new material he's working on. If he didn't care about Freminet, why would he even bother trying to get his opinions, or trying to make him smile?
And the second one, about Lyneys mask. Freminet is a character that hardly speaks his own mind because he doesn't like the awkwardness that comes from it (teapot conversations prove that), but he's clearly comfortable enough around Lyney that he was able to walk up and try having this conversation with him, despite knowing it likely wouldn't end well. If him and Lyney had a dirt poor relationship, Freminet likely would've never tried to initiate the conversation in the first place.
Tumblr media
This is his opinion about Lynette.
He does say something about how Lyney and Lynette always work better and smoother with eachother, and that he can't do the same. But Lynette tries to cheer him up when he's down on himself. She tries to tell him that everyone has their own strengths, and that this doesn't mean anything regarding his usefulness, especially with his skills in machinery that nobody else in the orphanage has. Lynette does care about him!
Tumblr media
(the part that cut off would be this: "Here, have mine too." Said Lynette as she filled his cup with tea, "We're family.")
And this is from Freminets character stories.
Freminet expresses obvious doubt of his place there. Lyney and Lynette are two siblings who practically can read each other's minds, they always know how to speak and interact with eachother, and it'd obviously bother Freminet, who's self-worth is already incredibly low, on how he thinks he'd just be an extra part left to waste in comparison to the two.
But Lyney and Lynette both go right in with including him. Lyney gives him and Pers a crucial role in their plans, and Lynette offers him her food and more tea, while straight up telling him that they're family now. If they didn't have any interest in trying to treat Freminet like family, they both could've easily let him fall into the role of just an extra piece in the corner to call upon when needed, but they didn't.
And. To add on!

The three of them all cameo in eachothers videos, Lyney and Lynette both do rehearsals in front of Freminet and regularly ask him for opinions, and Freminet wants Pers to be part of their show!!
Stop saying Lyney and Lynette don't like Freminet, Tiktok!!

Because I’m not tired and my brain is going a million miles a minute because Tim f-ing Minear decided to drop some more stills.
Season 6 ending with Buck in a relationship and Eddie asking Marisol out for coffee. Obviously with three cruise ship episodes, there might not be a time jump for 7x01. However I think Tim is editing 7x01 and hence some of the stills. And he said they just cracked the seal on 7x04 so these stills are definitely not from that.
I theorized Marisol wouldn’t be around long. Some people think so (I do however love the idea of her playing a stalker. It would be amazing. We did call Jonah from day 1) but I don’t.
It’s a basic reset for new viewers.
We do know everyone recovered by the end of season 6, so this could tie into that.
My angsty AF theory is that Buck doesn’t know why he’s flailing with Eddie going out with Marisol. He’s been very involved with Natalia at the end of season 6 and therefore could think “I might need to take a step back from the Diazes.”
Buck hasn’t really dealt with the trauma of dying, of his coma dream and thinks if someone came back, then maybe he should date them. And he’s probably feels Eddie slipping away if he’s spending time with Marisol and Buck dives into the relationship with Natalia.
More below the cut before holy lord LONG POST.
In this still, it seems like they are still in sync at work. Probably putting out a fire and rescuing someone. This feels like the conversation in Jinx about Eddie running into Ana. They are bumping shoulders so they could be talking about relationships.
Tumblr media
Somewhere between this still and these stills below, something happens. That something makes Eddie work out hard enough to sweat which we have only seen maybe three times. Once when Buck was being a brat, another during the fighting and again when he’s on the treadmill after transferring. But for the most point, he only does this when he’s anxious or mad about something to do with Buck.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
My angsty AF theory is that Buck really stepped back on their friendship and him being there for Chris. Eddie is still affected by the lightning strike and suddenly Buck isn’t there anymore. Whether it’s to give Eddie time to date or to spend more time with Natalia, Eddie is going through it.
He saw a life without Buck and he knows it sucks but he doesn’t know how to properly say that to Buck. And we have the puppy eyes where Buck asks if everything ok with Marisol and maybe just maybe getting a hint that something is off with him and Eddie.
These stills are reminiscent of Buck’s speech about Ana and Eddie’s lack of feelings and panic attacks about her. Except maybe this time, Buck starts to realize there might be more to this.
Tumblr media
Obviously Eddie is getting advice from Bobby but the last time he asked advice in this type of setting, it set him on the path towards Ana. Maybe this time Bobby’s advice is a little more direct.
Then we come to this still with Buck and Chris.
Tumblr media
This is not an usual still between this two. This speaks of tension and Chris maybe mad about something. And Buck looks like he’s trying to explain something. (Lyn’s color theory works well with this). Maybe he tries to explain why he hasn’t been around and tries to apologize for not being there.
It also relates back to Chris almost losing Buck. This kid has been through a lot but Buck has been a constant figure in his life for years now and Buck promised he would always be there.
So if it seems like Buck broke the promise and Chris is possibly taking it out on Eddie and Eddie is at a loss, then Buck finally gets it through his head that he doesn’t have to step back.
And he tries to talk to Chris about why he wasn’t around.
Obviously they all need to just talk to each other. Especially about the shooting, the will and the lightning strike.
Lastly we have this still. (I’m on Team Buck here)
Tumblr media
Maybe before the Chris and Buck still or after, Eddie finally caves and tries to let Buck know he is wanted and can come around whenever.
This should grab is also reminiscent of Eddie telling Buck there is no one he trusts more with Chris. It echoes the same exact feeling of “You are my family no matter what. You’re part of Christopher’s family no matter what.”
Despite the redemption of shitty parents in season 6, I hope Tim really gives us the found family feels we fell in love with. More so with the Buckley-Diaz family and how much Eddie has invited Buck into his and his son’s life from basically day 1. (Ok like day 7 but I digress).
I don’t think Buck is gonna allow Christopher to be injured physically. I think it’s going to play out in emotionally injured way because he would accidentally do that again.
And for the love of God, go to therapy.

⚣ BatBro with his BatBros 🦇
Tumblr media
⚣ 🦇 A/N → Ah, my first full installment of BatBro headcanons. Where does the time go? Anyway, as we progress throughout these headcanons, you can imagine the characters slowly getting older too. By, the time we get to the end, the reader is at least 18 years old making Damian anywhere between 18-19 years old, since he's a few months older.
⚣ 🦇 Summary → Going from the life of an only child, to having 4+ siblings, can't be easy. Especially when most of those siblings brothers, and those brothers come from a family a crime-stopping vigilantes. What was your mother thinking in leaving you with your dad?
REBLOGS are very appreciated! REPLIES to, I love hearing your thoughts 💛
⚣ ENJOY 🦇
Tumblr media
I find it funny that no one has ever thought to take advantage of the fact that Bruce Wayne has created a habit of popping up with a new kid like every couple of years. They could try to offer up their kids to him in hopes of cashing in on the Wayne family's wealth.
And he actively turns away all of them, even if he is tempted a couple of times. At least until he gets to you. Everything was normal until your mom decided one day she was done being a parent and just dropped you off at the front gate and left when you were 9 years old. This is also around the same time Damian ended up in Bruce's care, so you both were now dealing with the fact that you've suddenly got a father you never knew, as well as a brother. Well, brothers, since Bruce did somewhat actually have children before he had you guys.
She left a note along with your other belongings that said “Trust me. He yours,” with nothing else. Bruce could only stare down at you with that usual grim, but pondering look he had while you just stared back at him.
“I’d thought you be taller,” was your first sentence towards your dad. One that was vaguely familiar to the billionaire as he rolled his eyes and led you inside the manor.
Obviously, Bruce ran a DNA test and confirmed everything to be true. You were indeed his son, snarky remarks and all. You and Damian must share that quality.
Speaking of, since you and Damian were blood-related, you have a more special bond with each other. Even if he bullies the shit out of you.
Hiding your toys and games all around the manor, stabbing your favorite teddy bears and various stuffed items with his knives and daggers, and I'm just going to throw in that you have a love-hate relationship with Scooby-Doo now.
You love the cartoon, but Damian took advantage of the fact that you may not do well with scary stuff and would make his own costume versions of the villains from the show and chased you around the house with them. They were horrifying and disturbing enough to even unsettle Bruce a little, so you could imagine the early childhood trauma you endured.
People think your fear of clowns stems from the Joker. No, it's from Damian.
It’s always from Damian.
Plus, since you and Damian are around the same age, you both end up in the same grade at the same school. So he always keeps a look out for you and protects you from any bullies, while you teach him how to be more sociable and friendly towards others.
Now, if Damian's closest relationship with another brother outside of you is Dick (who you along with everyone else agree that he is basically Damian's second father), I imagine you have a close relationship with both Jason and Tim for various reasons.
You and Tim connect because you both have very intellectual and detail-oriented minds. You watch Scooby-Doo, so you obviously have an interest in mysteries as well as the Red Robin personality. Whenever he is having a hard time connecting dots to a case or a puzzle, you simply come in, take one look and somehow figure it out. Sometimes, you’ll even just make a random statement that ends up being the key to what Tim is looking for.
Tim and you both have an interest in video games, you a little bit more than him. It was because of you that he even really got into them. Before, when it was just you and your mom, you didn’t have anyone to really play with, besides whatever friends you could find online. So having someone you could play with, especially in person now made you and Tim’s bond that more special.
Also, you’ve made it your responsibility to make sure the guy gets adequate rest and sleep and doesn’t drown himself in caffeine.
“Timothy Drake! It is way past your bedtime. Off the Bat-Computer and upstairs into bed young man.” You yelled, marching downstairs with an amused Alfred towing behind.
Your father and siblings all watched from the sidelines as well, all amused at the sight of your young, tiny body, yelling at a slightly older and taller teenager as if you were his father.
“Um, I’m older than you,” Tim responded while holding on to what had to be his 5th coffee of the evening.
“Do I need to repeat myself?”
“Master Tim, with all due respect, I’d do what the young lad says. He’s already started unplugging and cutting the cords to every coffee and espresso machine in the manor.” Alfred said from behind.
Tim looked at you in horror while you stared at him the look on your face very much communicating a ‘try me if you want to’ message, and that’s when he noticed the pair of scissors in your hands.
“OKAY! I’M GOING! I’M GOING!” Tim shouted, sprinting out of his seat and up to his room. Your brothers were quietly laughing until you turned your head right to them.
“And, what are you three laughing at?! Get to bed right now.”
Now, it was their turn to question you. Cause Dick and Jason were full adults and even though Damian was only a few months older than you, well that was it. He was older than you so he bossed you around, not the other way,
“Woah, there little man. Jason and I, we’re grown. We don’t have bedtimes.” Dick said.
“Yeah, squirt.” Jason voiced right behind Dick with his arms crossed.
“Watch yourself, little brother,” Damian warned.
You raised a subtle eyebrow at them while your father and Alfred both looked at you with curiosity.
Alfred, however, had a little more amusement to his look since he already knew where this was headed.
“Dick, I will never have another brother movie night with you again, and I’ll start going to Jason for brotherly advice instead of you. Also, I’ll tell Kory you were being mean to me.” You threatened your oldest brother.
Dick was both hurt and fearful because how could you even threaten him with something that awful and quite frankly, plain rude and ridiculous. He gave way better advice than Jason! Also, he knew Kory absolutely adored you ever since Bruce brought you to the tower that one time and would not hesitate to put him on punishment as well if she even thought he was being mean to you.
Jason was holding a smug look at your threat toward Dick, that is until your eyes landed on him. “Jason, I know where you keep all of your limited edition books, especially your prized signed copy of Pride & Prejudice. We certainly don’t want that getting in the wrong hands, now do we,” You said, turning to your second oldest sibling. Jason was surprised, and slightly impressed, though also terrified. How could you know?!
You turned to your blood-related brother, who held a bit of an overconfident look as there wasn’t anything you could have over him that would have him actually following your orders. “And Damian, I’m sure you don’t want dear old Dad to know what happened at school last week, now do you?” You said, playing slightly with your fingernails while ‘innocently’ rocking back on your feet as if you weren’t blackmailing your siblings. For noble reasons, of course. They need their sleep!
Your brother was both shocked and angry at your statement. How did you even know about that? The look on his face, well, let’s just say it wasn’t friendly, not in the slightest.
But, to no one’s surprise except your dad, all your siblings silently trudged upstairs without another word.
Bruce looked at you and Alfred with a raised eyebrow as you turned back to face your brooding father, only now you could see his brooding look had a hint of questionable curiosity and amazement.
“You too, daddio. It’s bedtime, yo.” You rhymed. Apparently, not only was everyone’s sleep tracker, but you had a bit of flow with it too. Someone should get you a record deal.
You gave your dad a slight hug, your head barely reaching above his waist. You still had growing to do! You’d get there eventually.
Walking back toward the entrance, you also made sure to stop and give the butler a fist bump since he was your secret partner-in-crime. How else would you know where to hit to get your brothers to fall in line? with a slight hug to his side before heading back towards the entrance.
“Thanks, Alfred,” You said!
“Anytime, Master Y/N.”
Bruce eyed you both suspiciously before he realized what was going on as he watched your small body bounce up the stairs.
“Really? You’re in cahoots with my son, Alfred?”
“Why, Master Bruce, I’m offended. I’d say it was more of a beneficial partnership. Cahoots is for the reckless.” Alfred responded jokingly.
The age-old ending to every mystery novel plays out again, the butler did it.
Though, Bruce was still impressed by how easily your brothers listened to you without a second thought. It takes him a few tries just to get a sentence through their head, and that’s if they were actually listening to him that time.
“Wow, he got Jason to listen to him? I still can’t get Jason to greet me without looking him looking like he wants to punch my lights out.” Bruce commented.
“He has your commanding tone, sir,” Alfred said before backing up the manor himself, “I wouldn’t let Master Y/N catch you back down here, though. I heard he’s got some especially dirty leverage on you.”
Bruce suddenly decided to look at the clock, “Guess it is a little late,” He muttered before rushing upstairs himself.
Speaking of Jason, your relationship with the second adopted Wayne kid had more of a special touch. The Red Hood persona was the brother you really looked up to. You liked and respected how he branched out and followed his own path. Of course, Dick technically did the same, but considering everything Jason went through, he had to be one determined fucker to return to the very life that killed him. And, even though you don't necessarily agree with his 'strategies', you were always standing in his corner.
Though, Jason didn’t take well to you at first. In fact, because Damian left such a bad taste in his mouth after they met; when you two were introduced, he literally ran upstairs and screamed at Bruce about how he was the biggest hypocrite in the world for all those lectures he gave him and Dick about using protection. Richard silently agreed, also remembering his first meeting with Damian.
Determined to not live with a Damian 2.0, and also thinking he was saving you from a life full of trauma because, in his mind, no one deserved to be raised by someone like Bruce Wayne, Jason attempted to take you down to child protective services.
Your father was very unhappy when he got a call from CPS later that day and he could clearly hear you sobbing on the other side of the phone just as Jason walked through the front door. He was not the least bit ashamed, at least until you came home and he saw how upset you were.
He apologized and decided to give you a chance, thinking since the whole ordeal actually had you crying, you had to somewhat have a soul, unlike Damian. After some time, you got really close with each other.
Jason taught you how to fight and defend yourself. He’d read you stories at night from some of your favorite books as well as your own, and he’d always get Damian to back off if he decided to pull another one of his scare antics on you.
Your second eldest brother was your get-out-of-jail card too, whenever Bruce punished you for something. Though, sometimes, it may have just been better to take the punishment than let Jason pull you into whatever shenanigans he was planning. Considering the fact you and he managed to put an entire city without power for two nights somehow.
"How did you two manage to short-circuit the entire electrical grid in New York?" Bruce asked with you two standing side by side, looking like you just finished sleeping on top of a giant summer barbeque grill.
You both looked at each other before turning back to your stern-looking father, Damian mirroring his expression with his arms crossed and tapping his feet.
"Would you believe us if we said it started over a debate of how to eat fries with ketchup?"
Bruce slapped his forehead to his palm while Damian called you idiots. Tim got that curious look on his face, and Dick couldn't stop laughing for 15 minutes.
Now, your eldest brother, he was definitely someone you could count on no matter what. Being the oldest and having the most Bruce experience out of everyone, he always helped you deal with your Brucie problems or ‘daddy issues’ as you'd like to say.
Truth be told, every kid in this family had daddy issues.
As mentioned before, Dick was your movie-watching buddy, he helped you with your homework and always assisted with any life issues you had going on. No matter how many times you may have threatened the Nightwing persona with such, you always went to him for advice, and there was never really a moment you could think of where you regretted it.
He also helped you learn how to be more agile and light on your feet with your fighting. While your second eldest brother taught you how to use brute force and strength in situations, he gave you the acrobatic style of lessons. Where Bruce and Jason were direct and serious, Dick taught and showed you how to be more of the opposite.
And, whenever Jason wasn't around to get Damian off your back, you'd go to him since he was basically his second dad.
You and Dick together were like two chatty Cathys on drugs. One moment, you could be talking about the movie you were watching, then you’d get into a debate over onion rings vs french fries, somehow landing in politics, somehow ending up in a political debate only to end with the "Are we even real" conversation. And for whatever reason, you swore you could hear Tim itching in his seat whenever that conversation came up.
That boy goes down a lot of YouTube rabbit holes at 2 AM when he’s bored on patrol or not doing anything.
Now, one brother on their own was one thing. Two? Someone was calling the police. Three and you may have to check if your life insurance policy is still good. All four? Pray.
Since you now were officially the youngest, a title Damian was actually happy to pass on despite his warnings to Bruce, that meant you got the most of the teasing, even if it mostly came from your blood-related sibling. But his version of teasing tended to leave you with trips to your therapist so you could do without them.
However, one rule all your siblings and family stuck by, no one, and I mean NO ONE, not even in the Justice League or Titans/Young Justice teams, could mess or pick with you except them.
Everyone in the family was very protective over you. You were surprised to see even Alfred was on that list, though you learned quickly the butler was not one to be fucked with.
You distinctly remember that one time the Batcave got invaded and Batman made you hide in one of the saferooms, you saw on one of the video monitor screens Alfred whacking the shit outta them with just a rifle.
For that reason, among others, you took a mental note to be careful with how you complimented his cooking in the future.
But seriously, if anyone messed with you, and your family found out, Hell itself would be scared of what would break loose from your home.
A bully from school started picking on you and calling you names and you didn't tell your brothers about it, wanting to handle it on your own. Besides, you could defend yourself. They taught you well.
Until the fateful day you came out as gay, bi, pan, etc., and he called you names that your father wouldn't even repeat, and that man had the title of a playboy.
Well, word spread around the school and got back to Damian, who went back and told your other brothers.
By the next day, Dick had shredded every thread of that boy's confidence. Tim hacked the school files, got his address, and framed him for changing grades in the school. Jason used said address Tim got to pay a trip to the kid's place and shot bullet holes in all his clothes when no one was home. And well, let's just say Damian almost went to jail.
Of course, Bruce was pissed when he found out and had to intervene, but when Damian admitted the reason he nearly got arrested, your father upped his allowance.
Only God could imagine the terror that would unfold the day you started dating.
Oh, and they all call you babybird which you despise.
Don't even get me started on your sisters.

You scrolled mindlessly through your phone, looking for any kind of distraction as the elevator ticked up at a maddening pace. You just wanted to be home without having to worry about what Jungkook was going to do–
And of course, he was slumped against your door.
You heaved a sigh, swallowing down the pain of seeing him so dejected. Not that you had to try very hard as fear quickly replaced the emotion when you saw another man standing there next to him. You didn’t recognize the figure with an expensive suit, but you certainly had no desire to as he tried tugging Jungkook up.
The two men’s eyes snapped to you the moment the elevator dinged, making your presence painfully known. Meekly stepping out of it, you gave the men a tight smile that you neglected to remember they couldn’t even see since it was far from reaching your eyes and you still had the mask on. The man standing regarded you lazily, looking you up and down for a moment before his gaze morphed into an emotion you did know quite well: hatred. Pure, unbridled, hatred burned in his gaze, making you feel warm beneath your mask.
But what the hell did you do to this guy? You don’t remember seeing him ever, especially not in your past. Almost everyone who’s seen your face is dead, trusted, or in hiding themselves, so it wouldn’t make sense for him to recognize you, at least not enough to hate you.
“Is this her?” His voice was deep and filled with a venom you were sure wasn’t warranted, but you had little interest in engaging. It did irk you when his eyes looked over your form and his snarl deepened. You just got off work, can’t he give your looks a damn break?
“Can I help you?” You responded with an equal amount of venom, internally cursing yourself. So much for not engaging, dumbass. Your pride was getting the better of you.
The man before you cocked a brow, “Yeah, you could tell me why my boyfriend refuses to go back to his place until he speaks to you.” Jungkook did his boyfriend no favors in satiating his evident jealousy, his gaze only fixed on you with an emotion you knew nothing of.
Fuck.
That was a good question. A question that could cost your life, so you decided to tread lightly– or as lightly as you could considering how shitty of a job you were doing already. If this guy was one of Jungkook’s boyfriends, that meant there was a pretty good chance he was also a part of Bangtan, and you’ve poked that hornet’s nest more than enough.
You cleared your throat, “Jungkook.” He nearly keened forward at your voice saying his name, and it made you sigh, “Go home, yeah?” He frowned, slumping back against your door childishly, making his boyfriend glare at you even harsher somehow.
“This is ridiculous.” He spat, eyes never leaving you. If you didn’t know any better, you’d take that as him calling you ridiculous and say something stupid.
“Yeah? Imagine how I feel.” You sneered back. Obviously, you didn’t know any better right now. But goodness graciousness, this guy was shortening your temper at mach speed. You evidently had the same effect as he scoffed, “Look, what do you want from me?”
“I want my boyfriend to get up from your doorstep.” He hissed.
“Great.” You gritted your teeth, “Me too.” You stepped closer to them, “So why are you being such an asshole about it to me?”
He rolled his eyes, and you wanted to badly to see him try to do that with a black eye, “Becuase obviously you did something to upset him.” It was your turn to scoff, “So fix it.”
“Right, 'cause I’m the problem.” You muttered sarcastically. You were pretty used to being blamed your whole life for a whole number of things, but you took that shit because you had to. You didn’t know this guy, and you didn’t have it in you to care right now.
“You saying he’s the problem?” He snarled, obviously protective of the man. The jealousy at the fact that Jungkook had someone who loved him so much when you didn’t even have a pet was quickly outweighed by your anger and a twinge of fear at this man getting in your face.
“Hyung, you’re making it worse.” Jungkook groaned, and you were a little surprised at how sober he sounded. You thought if he was leaning against your door he was trashed, or at least semi-drunk, but he was speaking clearly, “Just wait for me at my place, okay?” The older man ignored him, crossing his arms and keeping his hatred trained at you.
“I’m saying no such thing, fuck.” You huffed, “If anything, I’m saying you’re acting like a real dick right now, and I’m not in the mood.” You explained harshly, “Take your jealousy or whatever the hell your problem is with me somewhere else.”
“Jealousy?!” He guffawed, “Me? Jealous of you?!” Ouch, damn. The way he could knock down your self-perception with three words was almost a talent. The power of tone never ceased to amaze, and especially at this moment, wound you. You knew he was more attractive than you. You had eyes after all, but evidently you struck a nerve with him to warrant that response.
“Oh, my bad.” You sarcastically mocked, “You’re seeming real secure right now. I must be mistaken.” You could hear Jungkook sigh, undoubtedly regretting helping you with your sarcastic tone years ago.
“Do you think I’m enjoying this? He looks miserable.” He grunted, pointing to his dejected lover.
“So leave then.” You challenged.
“Is that what you do to people you care about?” He spat, “Leave?”
Okay, that struck a nerve with you, “You don’t know a thing about me.” You fumed. You didn’t want to leave anyone, least of all Jungkook, but you also weren’t too keen on sticking around and getting yourself killed. You didn’t anticipate Jungkook not giving you the choice.
“Well from what I’ve seen, I can’t say I see the appeal.” He retorted. Is this guy calling you ugly or a bitch? Or is it both?
“Taeyung!” Jungkook scolded his boyfriend.
Your eyebrow twitched at the thought. Fuck this stranger to all hell, “You’re not doing yourself any favors either, I can promise you that.” You looked him up and down, forcing an unimpressed look on your face, and you could see him bristle at your actions.
“Y/n, come on.” He sighed. Great, now you both know each other’s names. Just what you needed right now. More fucking knowledge.
You sighed, not wanting to upset Jungkook anymore than you were about to by fighting with his boyfriend,  “If I talk to him, will you get the fuck out of my face?” You prodded.
Taehyung clenched his jaw. God, you were the worst, even worst than he and Jimin thought. You had the worst personality and your face… It would only be fair for you to be as ugly as your attitude, and the fact that you weren’t only pissed him off more. Even worse, you were stunning with a mask on. He swallowed hard, “Fine.”
“Yipee.” You deadpanned, turning to Jungkook, “Ready?” You asked and he scrambled to get up, taking your bag of takeout from you so you could fish out your keys.
“Is that a routine you have or something?” Taehyung seethed quietly.
“I’m just being considerate, hyung.” Jungkook shot back, “Especially when her guest is being so mean.”
“The last thing I’d consider him is a guest, Kook, don’t worry.” You rolled your eyes, taking off your mask so you could put it away before you forgot. Taehyung already had your first name, address, and how your eyes looked, Showing him the rest of your face wouldn’t make you any more in danger than you already were.
Taehyung wanted to punch a goddamn wall when he saw your the rest of your face. You were stunning and instead of shrinking away from him and out of his lover’s life, Jungkook was clinging to you, and you were more than holding your own. You matched his energy, calling attention to how much of a dick he was being, and he didn’t care for the mirror you proved to be. Even with that stupid piece of tissue clinging to your lip, saturated with blood, you looked beautiful, and it pissed him off.
“What happened to your lip?” Jungkook asked worriedly, making Taehyung fume even further.
It took you a couple seconds before you remembered, and you sighed, “Just bit it earlier, that’s all.” You explained, taking the tissue off before flicking your gaze to Taehyung, snapping him out his angry hypnosis with your face, “Bye.” You urged him.
“Watch yourself.” He warned, making you scoff.
“Thanks for the concern.” You quipped back as you unlocked your door, walking in to let Jungkook bid his stupid boyfriend adieu.
Jungkook watched you retreat into your room before looking back at his boyfriend, “You know better than anyone you catch more flies with honey.” He remarked, making Taehyung huff.
“She’s mean.” He simply said, and this made the miserable man snort. You were anything but mean, your kindness was one of the many things he admired about you. It was effortless, you weren’t even trying to be good. You just were. It scared and enticed him so.
“She’s really not.” The younger man said, “You were really mean, and I’m literally the one who taught her how to be mean back, a little too well obviously.”
“Taught her?” The man echoed his lover. What, were you a child? Why did his boyfriend need to “teach” you anything? And why the hell did it bother him so much?
Jungkook shook his head, “Nevermind. What I mean is she would’ve been way more receptive had you just been a bit more polite. Then you’d have something to report to Yoongi.” He sighed, irked at the fact that his boyfriend’s kept prying about you since his mood has been sour these days.
Taehyung chewed his lip, obviously guilty, “We’re just worried–”
“Sure.” He cut Taehyung off, making the older man scowl, “Just go wait for me, alright? Let me handle my own things.”
“So she’s yours now?” Taehyung bitterly remarked.
“Tae, please.” Jungkook sighed, “You’ve never been the jealous type like this, so I have no idea where this is coming from.” He grit out, and Taehyung bristled at this, the words on the tip of his tongue but before he can even think to say them, Jungkook spoke, "Just go, okay?” The older man rolled his eyes but followed his orders, the doors to both apartments closing at the same time.
You had changed into sweatpants and a T-shirt the moment you got in. Not only was it because you didn’t want to overhear what Jungkook and Taehyung were talking about, but you also knew this conversation was going to drain you beyond belief so you wanted to be prepared to go straight to be afterwards.
You entered your living room right as Jungkook closed your door, and you plopped onto the couch, already tired of this, “I don’t know what you want me to say.” You huffed, sending a glare to your turned-off TV. Should’ve never gotten the damn thing if it was going to be the catalyst for this much grief.
“You know what I want you to say.” He sighed. All the desperation from earlier in the day seemed to have tapered off and now you were both just left tired. Part of you was thankful he wasn’t freaking out like that right now, you rarely saw him like that. In your years of friendship, Jungkook and you basically never fought. You could count the number of times on one hand. Most often, the moment a disagreement arose, you dealt with it then and there. Keeping distance and being dismissive was new between the two of you, and it drained you both, “Tell me why, and I’ll let it go.” He professed and you scoffed. You weren’t sure how much you believed him judging by the dark circles blooming beneath his barely subdued crazed eyes.
“What difference does it make?” You refused to meet his eyes even as they burned holes in your cheek.
“You said you weren’t scared of syndicates or mafias.” He blurted, and you stiffened, “So tell me why.”
You shrugged, “I lied.” It was a half-truth, but you knew it wasn’t enough. Gone were the days when cagey lies and half-truths were sufficient between the two of you.
"We've both lied to each other enough, but it's time to stop, yeah?" He asked, and you could tell his sanity was toeing a very thin line but you simply huffed, “Come on.” He groaned, “Why won’t you tell me?”
You remained staring at the TV, “I can’t.”
“Can’t or won’t–”
“Both.” You crossed your arms, “The more we talk about this, the worse it’ll be for me.” You added, “And you, probably.”
“Fine.” He hissed, and for a moment you thought he was going to leave, “Then I’ll tell you what I know.” He pushed off of your door and walked to stand in front of the TV. It sounded like a threat, and in a way, you knew it was.
You swallowed hard, “Don’t you dare tell me a thing.” You warned. Knowledge is almost everything when it comes to risk assessment. If you knew too much, there would be no running away, there would be a chase. You could not afford to be chased. Hell, you couldn't afford to even be having this conversation in the first place.
“Why?” He challenged, eyes colder than you’ve ever seen. You pressed your lips together, not wanting to entertain this, "What's the harm in knowing things?" He was prodding you to show your understanding. He was baiting you and when you remained silent, he flashed a bitter half-smile before speaking, “Very well. I know that I am Jeon Jungkook, cyber specialist of the Bangtan syndicate, one of seven leaders.”
You dug your nails into your palms and fought the bile that rose up in your throat. One of your worst nightmares come true, and yet, you were stuck. Your body was rigid and your mind could barely process the million ways the reality of the fact could and was actively ruining you.
His words made your chest seize, and you wanted to throw up. The fucking cyber specialist, a whole leader, of the most powerful syndicate in the country had been coming to your apartment every week? How stupid could you be? “Stop.” You seethed.
“I know that you acted weird when the camera panned to the audience during the fight on Friday.” He took a step forward and you pressed yourself further into the couch, “I know that you said it was because you saw a teacher in the crowd, but that wasn’t true.”
“Enough.” Each word was like a stab to the chest. In more ways than one, you were sure nothing would be left of you by the time this conversation was over.
He wore that bitter smile so seamlessly, “I know it wasn’t true because I checked every single person in that fucking crowd, not just teachers.”
“Please.” You pleaded, pressing your nails so deep you could almost feel the acrylic snap.
“The only one who called into work that day doesn’t know you.” He spat, and you felt utterly ill.
“Jungkook.” You croaked.
He pressed on without a care in the world, eyes trained on you, “You wanna know who was in that crowd?”
“No.” You protested.
He clicked his tongue, “Too bad, it–”
You shook your head, covering your ears, “Shut up, shut up!” You exclaimed, palms pressing to muffle him.
In no time, he pinned your hands to your side, hovering over you with a fierce glare, “I can’t let you run away from this.” He snapped, “Not from me.”
“Why not?” You hissed.
“You mean too much to me.” The vulnerability and the sheer honesty in his voice, made you regret asking. Your heart cried out for more as your mind begged to run and never look back.
You struggled against him, significantly harder to hold your own against him when he was sober, “Let go of me.” You pleaded, your words having a double meaning that he didn’t care to listen to.
“Never.” He huffed like it was a promise, plucking at your heartstrings, “I can’t.” He said quietly, making your hairs stand on end, dropping his head to rest on your head, “I just can’t.” He breathed, lips moving along your crown.
“Can’t or won’t?” You mocked him, tears stinging you at the affection while he let out a humorless laugh.
He slid his hands from your wrists to interlace his finger with yours, still holding your hands down in a fierce grip, “Both.” He breathed. You hated your body for wanting to relax against his touch.
“You’re making a mistake.” You admitted solemnly, “You shouldn’t–”
“Enough of that.” He snarled, stunning you silent, “As I was saying,” He continued, pulling back but hovering over you still, “There was a certain Moon Byungjoo in the crowd.” Your uncle’s name made your stomach tighten and you internally begged Jungkook not to notice. The man in question quirked a brow at you, “That name mean anything to you?” You opened your mouth to deny it, but he shook his head, “Just stay quiet if you’re going to lie.” The venom in his tone hit your heart, the pain radiating to your throat.
“That’s not fair.” You whispered, “Like you’ve never lied to me.” You spit out, glaring at him, trying to look anything but how petrified you are.
“I’m not anymore.” He shot back, and you rolled your eyes, but he remained headstrong, “I’ll ask again, does that name mean anything to you?”
A mix of anger and betrayal filled you, “You know the answer already, don’t you?” You hissed and he flashed you that sickening smile again.
“He called you that day I was here, didn’t he?” He asked, and you kept your mouth shut, blinking the tears back as your carefully woven mundane life began to unravel, “Now, I didn’t know what you could possibly have to do with Byungjoo. I even went as far as researching you, and you know what I found?” You could hear your heartbeat in your ears as he spoke, but his eyes never broke contact with yours, “Nothing.” He sighed, “You basically didn’t exist until you enrolled in school.”
“That wasn’t fair.” You whimpered, trying to keep your tears in, “We promised we would stay out of each other’s business–”
“I can’t lose you.” He quickly interjected, his shield cracking for a moment to show you the desperation in his gaze, “So I did what I had to do, for us.”
You swallowed thickly, “What us, Kook?”You hissed, trying to hurt him even if it tore you down too, “We’re just friends is all.” You fixed a cold gaze on him, “Just study buddies who stuck around too long.” However, his grip only tightened on your hands.
“Friends?” He spit the word bitterly. He gave you an incredulous look, “Be honest with yourself for once, and then try to tell me that again.” He breathed, mere inches from your face now, and you had nowhere to sink into any further.
You wanted to protest again, tell him that he was being crazy. You wanted to say that he was looking for more in the relationship you shared than what was there, but he was no fool. It didn't take a genius to know that the feelings you held, the bond you both shared, the feelings you had wasn't mere friendship. The trouble was you didn't know what the hell it was. It was the deepest connection you'd ever had and yet, you had no idea where to place it.
He sighed, eyes cast down for a moment, “I didn’t want to do that, you know?” He admitted, pulling back a little, “When the guys found out I made a friend they insisted on doing a full background check, a week of tailing, and even random bout of tailing, but I told them to stay out of it.” He admitted, and your body shivered at his protective tone, “Our relationship was too important to jeopardize.” This made you grind your teeth in frustration. Maybe he should've let them dig into you or drive you away, save you both this grief.
“And now?” You pressed.
“Now,” He echoed, “It’s too important to lose.” You didn't get it. You knew why Jungkook’s friendship was so important to you, he was essentially all you had, but he had much more than you.
“What if it’s lost already?” You glared at him, but he didn’t seem shaken.
“It’s not.” He affirmed, and you didn't get how he was so sure, “We can rebuild, stronger than ever.”
You shook your head. He wasn’t thinking clearly. Something had to be wrong with him with the way he was talking like your relationship was so profound and… Your own lies tasted bitter on your tongue. It was hard to think clearly with him this close and with this much fear coursing through your veins, but even with all that, you knew. You knew he was right, and it made you sick to your stomach.
“I searched and I searched for any connection to Byungjoo and you and then…” You started squirming, wanting a head start before being viciously hunted, but he only pressed his arms into your legs, hands still holding yours, “Did you know that the first record of you started almost exactly five years ago?” He trailed off, eyes scrutinizing yours, “And I mean actual record, not the fake ones that were made also exactly five years ago.” Fuck, fuck, fuck. It was over. Truly, madly, deeply, over, “You know what five-year anniversary is coming up?” He asked and you tried to stand, tried to run, but it was no use. None of it was ever any use, and you knew it.
In the blink of an eye you were pinned to the floor, his legs locking yours in place as his hands stay intertwined with yours, “Don’t do this!” You cried, and the tears finally fell, “You don’t understand–”
"I couldn't believe it at first." His face was stone as you tried to look away from him, unable to face him now that he knew who you really were, "My y/n? The girl who I had to teach sarcasm to? The girl who needed me to show her how to use a coffee maker?" You struggled against him, wanting more than anything to cover your ears and just fade away, “Originally I thought you were amish or something, but a cold-blooded killer? A child progidy asassin?” His words were like fire, and you wanted to be swallowed whole by it, “How could that be when you were scared of your ice maker for almost a year?” What was once funny memories turned into stark reminders that this life had never really been yours to begin with. Your life would never be your own.
"Stop it, please."  You sobbed, embarrassment crushing your chest as you squeezed your eyes shut. In your childhood it was all about the mission, and any other knowledge would just get in the way. You didn't learn how to properly write until you were a teenager, let alone interact with people your age. It was Jungkook who painstakingly helped you learn the most basic tasks and subtle inflections. He never once got frustrated or gave up on you and here he was, his palms pressing against yours as he tore your walls to shreds.
“And then… he said your name.” Your whole body froze, your thrashing coming to an end, but the tears never stopped. “He said it to me, and only me, but it’ll be no time before the other guys question him.” He explained, eyes still unbelievably cold as he regarded you. Byungjoo, that fucking rat. You should’ve known, but what made it worse was that if you never befriended Jungkook, your name wouldn't matter that much. They wouldn't know your birthday or your address or anything, but you put a target on your back the moment you let him into your apartment all those years ago.
"I'm dead." Tears kept falling, but your body was stone now, and it would be soon. All those years of trying to survive and be somebody outside of your father, would be for nothing. You couldn’t outrun your past, and you felt stupid for ever trying.
He ignored your words, but you felt him squeeze your hands a bit harder, “At first I thought you were playing me," He grit his teeth, making you shiver. You wanted to protest, but he just pressed on, "but then I understood.” You finally looked at him, confusion filling your eyes with the tears as his gaze softened. He leaned down to your ear, “It was fate.” The way he said it nearly made you teares freeze on your face. Something about it sounded almost sinister, but what was worse is you could tell he genuinely meant it.
“What?” You squeaked out, and he chuckled darkly. You could hardly recognize him like this, and you wondered if the Jungkook you knew was nothing but a facade or if this was just another part of him.
“Come on, two mafia darlings finding each other against all odds and genuinedly not knowing who the other was.” He pulled back to look at you, eyes transparent now as his pupils dilated, “We’re perfect.” He breathed. You could see he wasn’t angry, but you couldn’t recognize that look in his eyes, “No more running, green girl.” The nickname made your body tremble beneath him.
“Just let me–”
He quickly cut in, “I’’ll protect you.” He kissed softly at the tear running down your cheek.
You shook harder, “They’ll kill me.” You cried softly, “I don’t have anything to offer. I don’t know where my father is and–”
“Shh, shh.” He soothed you, but it did little to help, “I won’t let them kill you.” He promised, and you weren’t sure how much he could keep the promise, “If they do, I’m going with you.” Your eyes bulged at this.
“You can’t mean that.” You tried to reason with him, but he simply shook his head.
“I mean everything I say to you.” He leaned his forehead against yours, breathing you in deeply, “You’d do well to remember that, okay?” He pressed another kiss to your forehead, “I’m gonna go talk to them in a bit.” He sighed, not looking forward to it.
“T-Tonight?” You asked.
He hummed in agreement, “No time like the present, huh?” He sat up, finally releasing your hands, but keeping your legs still as he sent you a sharp look, “No running, okay?”
“I don’t have anywhere to go.” You ruefully responded, nerves running on overdrive.
“Oh come on, I know Eunhwa worked for your father.” He tsked, and you flinched, not noticing the way he softened at your fear.
“Not even she is willing to risk her life to help me right now.” You snapped, looking away from him in shame. You had no one, no one except him. Even if you did try to run on your own, it would be two seconds before a bounty the size of Seoul was on your head. You’d be found by someone else, but you couldn’t help but feel like Jungkook would stop at nothing to find you first regardless, “We originally agreed to wait a few weeks since anniversary week is kind of…”
He snorted, already knowing the situation. He was one of the men that helped craft it. Nothing involving your family happened during that time, which made you all so hard to find, but obviously not hard enough, “Lucky me then.” He finally released your legs and you scrambled away from him. A flash of hurt came and was gone from his pupils before he extended his hand to you, “I never wanted to do any of this.” He reminded you, finally sounding like the Jungkook you knew but it did nothing to ease you, “I never wanted to scare you like that, but it was the only way to–”
You hugged your knees curling into yourself, "But you did." You sighed, feeling so unbelievably empty, as you struggled to take in a breath, “Just go.” Your voice cracked, and he recognied the tone immediately.
“No, I’m not going to leave you like–” He tried to offer to help but you just covered your ears as you cried into your knees.
“Leave, please!” You rasped, and that’s when it hit him. Regardless of the affection you both felt for each other, your relationship was fundamentally changed. You were no longer each other’s escape, you were the grizzly reality.
“No.” He seethed before crumbling down next to you. Despair washed over him at the reality of your relationship, but not even that could get in the way of his need to be close to you. What he had with you transcended wrong and right. You were tattooed into his psyche.
“Haven’t you done enough?” You croaked before his body covered yours. Even if you had the energy, you weren’t planning to fight his embrace, not when your traitorous body managed to relax as his mahogany and rain scented cologne invaded your senses, allowing you to take your first real breath since this whole ordeal.
“I won’t leave you like this.” His voice was muffled as he pressed his palms over yours to quiet the outside world, “Even if it’s my fault.” His breath hit your forehead as he kissed the skin, “Even if it makes you hate me.” He promised, “I’ll never leave you like this.” He began his rhythmic tapping, just like he always did, and the familiarity brought you both comfort, even if just for a moment.
“I hate this.” He let out a small sigh of relief when your hate wasn’t explicitly directed at him, “I’m scared, and I never wanted to be that girl again.” For the first time, Jungkook found himself wondering what exactly happened those five years ago. He wanted to know every little thing about your life before him. He wanted to know why you were alone, if you were loved, if someone hurt you, and most importantly, he wanted to know who, “I’m dead.” You cried into his chest.
“No, you’re not.” He all but promised, “I won’t let them.” He pressed a too-sweet kiss to your forehead.
“Why?” You asked again, even though you knew you weren’t ready for the answer.
“Because…” He trailed off, trying to think of what to say, never letting up on his taps, “You’re mine.” He mused, and you succumbed to your despair even further as your body shook violently.
“And what do I have then?” You sobbed, “What’s mine then?” Your life had never been yours, and you suddenly felt so foolish to think it ever would be. Made to be a puppet and cursed to never cut the strings.
“I am.” He immediately responded and you shook your head, but he only held you tighter, “Don’t be scared.” He breathed, “No matter what happens, I’ll always be here.” He promised, and it broke your heart that the notion both scared and eased you. You simply nodded as you both stayed that way and then once your breathing stabilized, he let you be alone.
“I don’t know how I’m going to forgive you for this.” You admitted, the both of you hurting from your statement.
“I know.” He looked to you with a soft smile, “But you will eventually, and that’s all I care about.”
He set his jaw before taking his leave, and he could hear your breathing trying to steady even as he closed the door. He leaned against the wood, sighing as he closed his eyes. It was just a rough patch. You just couldn’t see how good this was for both of you. Even if he had to rebuild your relationship all by himself, he would. He’d do anything if it meant keeping you. Maybe he was an addict down to his core, trading one vice for another. He didn’t care either way.

i don’t think people realize just how serious 2016 was, and this isn’t a knock on previous anon. i know there’s clips from taylor when she was younger saying she doesn’t like hiding when she’s in a relationship bc it makes her feel like she’s doing something wrong, she’s a criminal, etc etc. BUT 2016 completely changed who she is in some ways. she refuses to speak about what actually happened or how she felt or anything in great detail, and i’d wager she won’t speak on it for years to come. everyone around her was genuinely worried for her health and life. she NEEDED to disappear. and that’s not to say that’s how she wanted to live her life forever, but i can’t imagine how scary 2016 was for her and her family/people worried for her. do i think joe liked the level of privacy they had in 2017/2018? yes (obviously not saying he liked the reason they had it). but i think she worked through so much trauma from that and has wanted to bask in her career and the fruit of her labor and he didn’t want to and that became stifling for her.
yup, agreed. it's also wild because she has been pretty explicit about the suicide thing. she said to be cancelled by millions of people feels like people asking you to kill yourself. "i pulled the car off the road to the lookout, could've followed my fears all the way down." like what do you think she is talking about here??
and she needed to disappear but that doesn't mean she wanted to. i think it was an incredibly hard lesson that showed her she must save some things for herself. but that's not how she should've had to learn it.

rewatching Hill House with lewis and god like. thinking about how luke as an addict has NONE of the same fancy treatment that Nellie gets, we don't see anyone delving into the underlying REASONS he is an addict
and not just the poverty compared to his siblings but like
the trauma of hill house. we see nellie seek out a fancy sleep therapist in a sleek beautifully made up office, and separately is in a sleek fancy psychiatrist's office and speaking to him in one on one sessions
because luke is an addict he doesn't get that. because luke is an addict and is automatically blamed for everything BECAUSE he's an addict, bc he's automatically seen as evil and Wrong inside, everything is about what HE'S done wrong, the amends HE needs to make
and of course he's fucking hurt them, but a heroin addiction doesn't come from nowhere - esp bc we see him as a young boy with bad vision who struggles with his letters in a way that his sister doesn't at the same age, who comes off as quite a bit younger than nellie in some ways
yes, he's naïve in a way that nellie isn't as a child (although they obviously swap roles as adults), yes he doesn't do well assessing risk, but like
the thing about that is that. theo has a PhD in behavioural science or whatever
shirley is a mortician, steve is a successful author, nellie is a fucking PHOTOGRAPHER and like
nell is also naïve as an adult but bc she has that creative streak she's able to cobble whatever living together and access fancy care
but luke? steven basically laughs at him when they talk about him being able to write a story and the work being good. no one cares about luke. everyone is frustrated with nell's naivety but she gets a lot of slack that luke doesn't because she's not an addict
and i just think about how. luke doesn't get into art or a fancy career like any of his siblings do. he doesn't find a focus or an obsession. he doesn't develop support or loving connections. he's there, ripped open and traumatised like they are, with nothing to stem the wounds
of course he turns to fucking heroin. what else does he have? and then what little he DOES have goes down the drain as he spirals further and further, he steals from his siblings, he erodes those relationships to nothing, they see him as an inconvenience, they treat him cruelly
like. real talk.
can luke, as an adult, even fucking see very well?
bc baby luke has glasses that are thick as anything, and i KNOW that my man isn't carrying his contact case from alleyway to alleyway and shitty shelter to slightly less shitty clinic
MAYBE he's had corrective eye surgery. maybe he's just given up, because he can't get a job like his siblings anyway so why does it matter? he'd only lose his glasses anyway
but fuck it just. kills me.
like just the blaming luke for everything he's suffering when they're all insane and all traumatised, they're all DESTROYED
but they all acknowledge they're fucked up cos of the house... except luke. it's luke's fault, bc he's an addict

This whole Thea thing made me reflect about Kevin and Neil's relationship in canon and why we don't really hear about her before Renee tells Neil that Kevin has a gf.
All Neil know (and therefore all we know) about Kevin's past is said by others. The media, other Foxes, Wymack, Kathy, etc. They didn't really had a heart to heart conversation about Kevin's life at the Nest, maybe some things exy related and that's it (I'm gonna come back to this in a sec).
And I think that's okay.
Neil himself doesn't talk with others (except Andrew and a little to Wymack) about his past either before Baltimore forced him to. And I feel like it was the same with Kevin in the way he hwd to told his story once when he joined the Foxes to make them trust him and also to protect them. Neil obviously wasn't in that conversation.
Kevin has trauma too and his own history with mafia and the Moriyamas that he doesn't wanna/need to tell everyone or relieve. In that past is Thea too. He probably told the team about her in that conversation because he's not close to Renee to tell just her and nobody else says anything when Thea arrives, they know who she is.
Also. Hope you remember I said I was comming around to Kevin and Neil basically talking just exy related stuff, well, I could do another very long post abou what I think of Kevin's relationship with exy, but for now I'm just saying he used it to avoid every other thing happening in the world and to communicate through it. Just like Neil does, like Andrew tells him in the awful talk they had. This two boys say a lot of things while talking "just about the game", their silence speaks volumes.

The Untamed Mind Dump (Spoilers duh)
(I have yet to read the novel for MDZS, and I am on Episode 47 of The Untamed so I want to do another mind dump like last time)
Jin Guangyao, I've been suspicious of him ever since I saw that face of his (I am not calling the actor ugly or anything like that, I can acknowledge its the acting that made him look suscpious not his actual face.) But I didn't excpect for him to be that sick of a human being.
Wei Wuxian being the scapegoat all over again
Damn these people love to gossip
I forgot about Wei Wuxian offering his Golden Core to Jiang Cheng
I miss Jiang Yanli bro
I also miss Wen Qing
At least I have Wen Ning, he is so awesome
I have the firm belief that while Wen Ning and Wei Wuxian are responsible for the death of Jin Zixuan, I know damn well Jiang Yanli's blood is not on Wei Wuxian's hands. Heck, I kind of think even though Wei Wuxian was the cause of Jin Zixuan's death, that that situation was obviously curated from the start, there was no intention to kill anyone that day because Wei Wuxian was doing this all in self defense. (Still sad that Jin Zixuan had to be a casualty).
I legit don't remember Su She before episode 45
The way I had to pause, sit up, stand up, walk around when that lady revealed Jin Guangyao tortured his father like that and what he did to Qin Su??? OH MY GOOOODDDDDDDD
Lan Wanji, you're the best supporter and best friend ever (I know in the novel he's Wei Wuxian's lover but in The Untamed their relationship is still amazing as best friends).
Wei Wuxian is such a great leader and protected those teens well (most of them are teens right? they all seemed kinda young)
I feel so bad for Jin Ling, all of his family's dirty laundry being aired out from both sides because his (defected) martial uncle is infamous for doing dirty tricks and is the supposed one who killed his parents, his maternal uncle being really hard on him, his paternal uncle being absolute scum and him doing things worse than what Wei Wuxian was ever accused for, and then to top it all off, he is constantly bullied.
To add to that, Jin Ling's outbursts are to be expected, he's just like his maternal uncle, really emotional. Jiang Cheng has had his outbursts of anger and aggressiveness (verbal and/or physical) and this could be the only way Jin Ling knows how to express himself.
At first I thought Jin Ling was an arrogant and stupid spoiled brat but I just want to hug this poor kid, the trauma of not having his parents and knowing that they died brutal deaths, the bullying, just everything. Just let him have a nice and warm blanket while snuggling with Fairy for once, please?
Speaking of Fairy, can people stop threatening the dog please? Like, they're such a good boy/girl (Netflix subtitles swapped them at somepoint from he to she and then it so I have no idea).
I WAS CRYING WHEN LAN SIZHUI STARTED TO REMEMBER HIS PAST AND THEN WEN NING WAS TRYING TO CATCH UP WITH HIM BRUH I WAS UGLY CRYING, SOBBING, THEY'RE FAMILY, THEY DESERVE TO SPEND TIME TOGETHER, THE LAST OF THE WEN FAMILY AAAA
I am such a sucker for reunited families, families with close bonds, found families, I don't know why, but it strikes me in the heart in such a painful and joyful way.
Zewu Jun, I always have mad respect for this man and I understand how he needs to make his own judgement and not only trust the words of others, I just can't blame him for that. But man was I afraid that he betrayed everyone by actually being 100% on Jin Guangyao's side knowing everything he did in episode 46, but he looked as confused and weirded out as ever so thankfully he isn't on his side anymore, I love this dude, I'm his biggest supporter.
I'll make each of these things their own post because I have so much more I want to say.

So, it started!
Fandom: Overwatch
Character: Ana
Type of fic: concepts
Thx :)
It's time to write for grandma, let's go! I definitely want to write more for her in the future. She has potential to be written much worse but for now this concept is rather tame.
Yandere! Ana Amari Concept
(FT. Yandere! Platonic! Pharah/Fareeha Amari)
Pairing: Romantic (Ana)/Platonic (Pharah)
Possible Trigger Warnings: Gender-Neutral Darling, Obsession, Overprotective behavior, Manipulation, Drugging (Sleep Darts). Violence briefly mentioned, Kidnapping, Slight degrading behavior, Trauma mention, Forced relationship.
Tumblr media
Honestly Ana is such a mom to most of the characters.
She has been through a lot due to being a sniper for Overwatch back when it was at its prime.
Now she's retired and instead is a vigilante in hiding.
I feel Ana's equipment already gives her potential.
She literally has sleep darts and a vial that can either heal or poison.
She's responsible and caring, characteristics that would carry over when she meets you.
Ana would care for you if you were a member of Overwatch or a civilian friend.
Overall she would definitely be a parental yandere, one who isn't afraid to discipline you if you go against her.
I'd expect her to mom you at times as she does it to other characters.
Another thing I've noticed in the limited Ana content out there is Pharah, her daughter, may encourage her obsession.
I actually like this idea as you'd technically have two yanderes.
They're almost like a package deal.
Ana hasn't had a romantic partner in years ever since Pharah's father.
Plus, Pharah likes to see her mother happy.
Even when she likes you in the romantic sense she acts like she knows best.
There's probably some sort of age gap between you which allows her to hold that over your head.
She's teasing with you but also serious.
Ana would want to provide you with a good life as she herself has been through a lot.
If anything she feels she could enjoy her life better with you by her side.
Even when she returns to help fight for a world she wants to live in as a vigilante she is sure to prioritize you.
Ana would definitely keep you in a secret home she picked so you and her have somewhere to live.
Probably only her and Pharah know where exactly the place is.
She says it's primarily to keep you safe.
Speaking of which, Ana is a yandere driven by the urge to protect you.
She is wise enough to know not to be jealous or too possessive.
That's the perk of her being older.
She isn't inexperienced, she's mellowed out compared to how she was when she was younger.
As a result her obsession is more tame.
She'll give you what you want as long as you understand keeping you hidden is keeping you safe.
If you fight her or decide to “throw a fit”, then Ana has a solution.
She always seems to have that dart gun on her.
If you act up, she'll warn you to stop.
If you don't? Sleep tight.
Ana is a yandere who trains your obedience.
Like a pet, even if she doesn't view you as such, she teaches you the rules of her house.
When you understand why you're here with her she's much nicer.
She offers to dance with you and keeps you cared for.
When Pharah visits she expects you to greet her like she's your daughter.
Because at this point… she is.
In Ana's eyes you're (unofficially) spouses.
So you do become Pharah's second parent in a way.
Meaning you're most likely somewhere in your 40's or 50's in this concept?
Obviously Ana falls into the overprotective and manipulative category.
She feels she knows best and gives herself the responsibility of caring for her family.
She hasn't felt that way in a long time.
In fact… she feels she's missed it.
Everyone else may think she's dead except you, Pharah, and Jack.
But she prefers it, the privacy is nice.
Ana likes it when it's just you and her.
She likes it when she calls you over to cuddle and she just gets to relax… even if it's just for a little while.
She may be unable to get a vacation for a long while but for now this is enough.
All she feels she needs is you and Pharah.
Ana would do anything to keep her new family.
Be it murder… or trapping you beside her… she doesn't mind as long as she has you.

ROBLOX FLICKER - My Role Interpertations: Chapter - Medic (written on 06/01/2024)
WARNINGS: self-hatred, mentions of murder, extreme guilt, longish post
Medic, medic, medic… Oh, how much trauma you could fit into this single role.
The medic. Let's lay out the (objective) basics - each night, a person has a chance of being killed by the murderer. There is not much definite avoiding you could do,however; the medic here can "save the day", so to speak. They can select a person to protect during the nighttime. If the murderer were to attempt killing this person whilst they were protected, their murder attempt would simply Not Work. It's mostly a game of guessing and choosing, and hoping your shots at the dark were useful.
(Random facts! There cannot be both a Saviour and a Medic, symbolizing how they are the only Saving Grace, the only Hope in the team. They are the only ones which can truly heal and Save people from the horrible fates of death, despite everything. Also, the Medic is supposed to be a counterpart to the Witch, which could make for interesting character dynamics and relationships, in my earnest opinion. Perhaps they could be similiar, yet differnet. You get what I mean?)
(The medics' actions do not count against the ones slain by roles such as Assassin and Clown, symbolizing their power and strength. But that is for another essay, though.)
(Both Saviour and Medic are assigned the colour Cyan as their signature colour - Cyan, as a colour, can represent various things, but it is most associated with and represented with "peace, relaxation, healthcare, dreams, spirituality, liveliness, youth, energy, serenity, and calm", according to most accessible online sources.)
Now, let's look at this from a different perspective. The medic, first of all, has to choose a specific person they must protect that night. Which could be horribly detrimental to ones' psyche.Favoritism, guilt tripping and manipulation can come into play.
The medic would most definitely be asked the question, who do they save? And why?
They would practically have to deal with choosing who has more value as a person. Not being protected would straight up tell someone "Hey, the medic thought you weren't worth saving". How does one choose who gets to live and who doesn't? The medic can not NOT choose anyone, either; that would be useless and detrimental to everyone. But choosing a specific person would be favoritism.
Choosing yourself? That would be selfish.
The medic would have a hard time choosing. Constant questions and guilt flooding through their head. I mean, obviously, the choice would all depend on the individual factors of that specific night; who is the most vulnerable? Who is the most valuable asset to the game? Who is worth saving? But even those questions are difficult to answer.
Not to mention the sentimental aspect of choosing. You can't let your friend(s) die! You must protect them, or you're a horrible ally! A horrible friend yourself!
Your "friends" could also very much, well, let's just say;control you, in case they know of you being the medic.
"You're gonna protect me, right?" you would hear their pleads for their very lives each night. Of course you would, you'd think so at least. They're your 'ride or die'. You can't betray them like that.
But you could only ever so wait for the tiniest bit longer to realize; your friends' yearning for protection were just simple tricks. You'd come to realize; some of them knew they wouldn't get killed during the game anyway.
They just wanted less security for the Valuable, for the 'Good' so to speak.
And oh, how fucking of a stab that would be. To realize that the many failures, falls and deaths… all the blood spilled would be on your hands as well as the murderers'.
You helped them. Your own naivete, no; screw that, you were at fault for the fallings of the innocent.
How much loyalty you devoted to your single friend, how much care and protection you sacrificed for them, as "any other friend would"; only to sacrifice the lives of the many others who needed your protection you never chose to give.
Asshole.
All the lives gone; if only you weren't so naive, so dumb, so selective, so… evil.
If only you weren't the medic.
Have you ever even chosen to be this way?
Now, now. Let's think of other… potential circumstances.
You DO choose to save yourself. More often than not, in fact. Others may not even know about your ways; your ways of keeping wary each night, keeping awake for the purpose of protecting and healing yourself, may go unnoticed by many. Sure, the mystery surrounding your questioning "immortality" may rise eyebrows for some, but for the most part? You're safe.
(I just realized that the medic can only save themselves once per round. Excuse my idiocy, please.)
But, seriously? Choosing yourself, each night? Each night, in your wake hours, you hear the screams of the slaughtered. Each stab to their heart feels like a stab to your psych.
You could've helped them.
You could've saved them.
But no, no- you had to protect yourself, huh? Selfishness comes as a simple strategy for survival, does it not?
But what are you good for, anyway? What makes you so much more valuable than anyone else, to the point of self protection and 'sacrifice' of others?
All the screams of pain… they should be your screams.
It all comes down to a personal choice. Be selfish, and survive; but hear the screams of victims that could've been you. Be a good friend, and save them; but sacrificing many lives of the innocent, and ultimately leaving yourself more vulnerable than ever. Be strategic, and protect the competent, the useful ones; but ultimately sacrificing the lives of the innocents who should deserve to live too. Deny favouritism, deny choice, and deny responsibility, and protect no one; but be a fucking asshole and an idiot.
You can't save everyone but you can't- no, you musn't- save no one at all.
After all, it is your responsiblity, your role. And you better not fuck it up.
Because, among all else, it all ties into you, and what you choose to do.
Unless you give it all up.
Because how could you ever live a normal life, after knowing what you could've done, who you could've saved; but ultimately didn't. Generally speaking, you might've even helped the murderer at times.
So who is to blame here, realy?
Are you to be trusted?
You could've done such good, and yet..?
You fail.
Failure and imperfection, in almost any scenario, is excusable. Reedemable. We are all imperfect, messy excuses of humanity. But in a live-or-die situation? In which everyone's lives are at stake, and you fail to save them?
There is no going back.
There is no redemption.
(also, imagine everyone feels like there is no salvation, there is nothing to be done, everything is hopeless, while you're just standing there, fully aware that you CAN and COULD'VE saved soo many people, only if you weren't so stupid. that would be kinda awkward LMAOOOOOOOOO)

why do you think Yang and Weiss should've been endgame in lieu of Yang and Blake?
First off I do want to note that I think Blake and Yang could have been a perfectly fine ship that I might've liked if I thought that the writers were better. I'm not sure, but I think I haven't actually said 'Blake and Yang shouldn't have ever been a thing' before. I think the concept of Blake and Yang is fine, but they were just badly written, which is something I also think about Renora and Arkos so I'm very unconvinced that the RWBY writers can manage any romance and write for it well.
With that being said, there are a couple of reasons why I think going with Weiss and Yang would've been more appealing to me personally.
Obviously rwde and anti-bumbleby under the keep reading. Please do not read this if you can't see criticism of the show or the bees without getting angry.
Number One: I like the ship better. This one is pretty self explanatory, but yeah personally speaking, I tend to like rich out of touch person/down to earth person of the people ships, I tend to like the type of ship Yang and Weiss fit into.
Number Two: I really like the idea of Yang and Weiss's aesthetics, I think they look good together and compliment each other and this would especially be the case if the people in charge of RWBY had Weiss kind of throw off some of her 'rich princess' vibes as she broke away from her family and turned her into a bit more of a rebel, which is something I think they're wrong to have not done.
Number Three: Before the Fall of Beacon, I did not think that Blake and Yang were close, they barely even felt like friends, more like.... Yang wanted to be friends with Blake and kept trying to be, and Blake wanted to be friends with Yang too but she (understandably) was taking awhile to open up to and trust all of her teammates. After the Fall of Beacon, the writers kind of speedran a badly done (imo) 'they're awkward around each other, wait no they're fine now, now they're caressing each other's cheeks and can't be apart' thing and I cannot stress enough that the time between Blake reuniting with everyone at Haven and the post-Adam-fight face caress is like three weeks. Imo this makes their relationship feel pretty shallow and based in trauma considering that prior to reuniting at Haven, they'd had like three important conversations, one of which was shared with Weiss, one of which involved Yang leading Blake around with a laser pointing and angrily hitting her, and one in which Blake is actively trying not to think Yang had done something horrible. Yang and Weiss didn't have very many big important moments either, but unlike with Yang and Blake, we saw them seem to have fun in more relaxed settings more, like they planned the Vytal dance together and played board games together, and Yang's the one that kind of tried to talk to Weiss about how Weiss was acting when they found out Blake was a Faunus, and Weiss would try to make Yang-like jokes, and they fought Neon and Flynt together. For me, Yang and Weiss felt way more like friends before the Fall of Beacon than Blake and Yang did. And then after the Fall of Beacon, Weiss and Yang meeting back up in volume five and spending most of volume five interacting with each other really made me start being like 👀 because with them having actually felt like real friends, things like the hug and Weiss taking Yang's hand to try to calm her down and comforting her over Blake having left... All that actually felt natural, and it seemed like they were really connecting and helping each other. I much prefer ships where they're friends first and connect in natural ways, and I feel like with Blake and Yang, they weren't really friends and then the writers wanted to just brush aside everything that happened between them without talking about it so they could get to the 'and now they matter more to each other than anyone and they can't be apart' phase, and it left them feeling more forced.
Number Four: As someone who has sisters I care about more than anything in the world, it's very important to me that characters with close family members (or super close best friends that may as well be family like Shawn and Gus from Psych) have romantic relationships that don't come above the family members or feel like they have to compete with family members. It's important to me that the romantic partner of whoever has a family member really loves and wants to include their partner's family. So when Yang and Ruby opened their arms up to Weiss, and when Ruby sat with Yang and Weiss to drink coffee together, and with Ruby being 'besties' with Weiss, it feels like Weiss and Yang being in a relationship wouldn't actually come above Yang's relationship with Ruby but would instead keep her welcome and in the circle. Like Shawn and Abigail Lytar going out to the movies and Gus being in the backseat ready to watch with them. I know people are going to get furious with me if I say this, but the RWBY writers have written Blake and Yang to care more about each other than anyone else in a way that feels like it comes above Yang's relationship with Ruby, and to me that's annoying. They're more like Juliet telling Shawn not to bring Gus with him somewhere because she wants to go, and Shawn feeling like he has to either choose between them or lie to Juliet. Apathy Grimm are attacking? Yang grabs Blake's hand to pull her out of the room, leaving Ruby behind to haul their drunk uncle (who Yang is also supposed to care about btw) out by herself. Someone suggests that Yang and Blake ever do anything without each other? Yang gets so mad her eyes go red. Yang has a fight with Ruby but then also she's apart from Blake who she didn't fight with? She doesn't think about Ruby, she's too busy wondering if Blake thinks less of her. Ruby's having a very obvious mental breakdown after losing a close friend? Yang is off flirting with Blake and barely takes the time to say 'are you okay' and always gets distracted from the answer, leaving Ruby without the support of her big sister. Ruby pretty much tells Yang that she feels like people don't care about her and she can't fight and be the leader anymore? Yang steps in front of Blake to defend her without doing anything to help Ruby and then just gets mad at Ruby! On top of that, Blake and Ruby have only actually spoken once since season one, and it felt super forced, so Blake and Ruby don't even sort of feel like they're friends. The way that the writers have been writing Blake and Yang's relationship feels like Ruby is excluded from it and has now become less important to Yang. That makes me like their relationship a lot less.
Number Five: Almost every single step of Blake and Yang's relationship has come in a bad moment where their lives were on the line. Now don't get me wrong, I do like a certain amount of trauma bonding and tension in my ships, but when every single step of their relationship growing is accidental, unwanted by at least one of them, or filled with trauma and tension, it makes their relationship feel not only unhealthy (which can be fun,) but also kind of forced - and not in a writer forced it way (though I'm not not saying that,) but in a way where it feels like the characters themselves feel like they wouldn't have picked the relationship if they hadn't been pushed every step of the way. They teamed up on accident, their first 'moment' happened because Yang forced it, Blake rejoining the group only happened because she coincidentally came across them, the first instance of handholding involved Blake feeling guilty about Yang's arm, the first face caress and promise to not leave happened after a deeply traumatic experience with Adam, their 'big moment' in volume eight happened because Yang and Blake both felt guilty for ??? not being glued at the hip I guess, and their confession and kiss in volume nine was literally forced on them by the world around them putting them in a life or death situation where the win conditions of getting out of it was confessing their feelings. Their whole relationship feels like it was more or less forced every step of the way. I'm not saying this wouldn't be the case if the writers had gone with Yang and Weiss (because the writers are bad at romance) or that it couldn't have been different with Blake and Yang (again, I think they could've been a really well done and compelling ship.) But as it is right now, it felt way more natural for Weiss to grab Yang's hand than it feels for Yang and Blake to kiss, because it feels more like if Weiss and Yang were together it'd be because they wanted it, and the entire world around them wouldn't have to force them into a kiss.
Number Six: Fans of this ship have made it a lot harder for me to get past my frustrations about this ship. This is one of those fandoms that try to insist that everyone needs to like certain characters or ships and will scream bloody murder about anyone who doesn't conform to the fandom enforced rules, and shipping the bees is a big one. Of course people will say "it's okay to not ship Blake and Yang" but then they always follow it up with a "BUT" and then proceed to pretty much say that you do have to like it. Like they'll be like "it's fine to not ship Blake and Yang but you better not ship either character with a man and if you ship Yang with Weiss it's just because you hate when sapphic women are actually together and you only like wlw in theory, and also you still have to think that everything about bumbleby is good and just not your thing, AND ALSO if you prefer any other ship than you hate queer representation and women too probably and deserve to be sent hate anons." So like... When you get attacked by enough bees fans for daring to not like one single ship, it kinda starts just further dampening your enjoyment of the ship. Like when Blake and Yang kissed in volume nine I was thinking a lot of things, but right along with "well any canon confirmed queer characters helps normalize it" I was thinking about the fact that Bees fans were probably going to try to bully me about it and use it to insist that me and other queer people were no longer allowed to criticize RWBY. It really made a bad (imo) ship worse.
Now, there's also a couple of reasons that I think aren't just personal preference. These might not be deal breakers for everyone, but they just add to why I don't like the ship.
Number Seven: Yang was anti-faunus towards Blake with that whole laser pointer thing. This was never addressed or apologized for. This alone wouldn't make me hate the ship, but coupled with everything else, it just feels especially bad.
Number Eight: The writers aren't good at emotional weight, pay off, or dealing with serious topics and serious baggage. And there are so many conflicts that Blake and Yang specifically should have worked through that instead constantly got shuffled off to the side and forgotten and never got worked through. Yang having reminded Blake of Adam? Never dealt with, despite the fact that Yang is actually more prone to anger and blow ups now than she was and specifically wants to solve things with violence which makes Blake cringe as she tries to handle Yang's moods. Is this going to be addressed? Almost definitely not, and frankly it should've been talked about before volume nine anyway. Blake having left Yang without a word to explain or a goodbye at least, thus hurting Yang's feelings, but Blake not actually being obligated to have stayed with her like Yang wanted her to? That definitely should've been talked about! Yang could've explained how she felt, Blake could've explained what had happened and apologized for pushing Yang away and leaving without saying goodbye, and Yang could then say that she forgives her and also that she understands that Blake needed time to recover too and that she didn't have to stay with her. Blake treating Yang like she was fragile and Blake needed to take care of her because Yang had lost her arm? That should've been talked about! The fact that they had to kill Blake's ex-boyfriend together after he revealed his face was branded and screamed about how Blake was going to leave Yang and all that? That should've been talked about! And the things that should've been talked about just keep mounting and now include how Yang's little sister tried to kill herself after basically saying that Yang no longer cares for her and is too busy flirting, which in any good show would create problems and tension for Blake and Yang as they deal with that and what that potentially could change in their relationships. But the writers never actually address any problems or baggage that Blake and Yang have. One reasons why I think in a post-V3 planning sesh that they should've gone with Weiss and Yang is for similar reasons why they shouldn't have killed Penny, or why they shouldn't have given Ruby suicidal tendencies, or why they shouldn't have tried to do a 'fall into villainy' arc with Ironwood. Because they aren't good enough writers imo to properly handle serious emotional weight and depth and real baggage and problems. Imo Weiss and Yang would've been a better choice post-V3 simply because writing them to have a good relationship would take less work.
Number Nine: The writers wrote Blake into a different character in order to ship her with Yang. She has almost nothing in common with who she used to be as a character. This could've happened with Weiss, admittedly, but also I kind of think it would've happened to a less significant degree because of the connection Weiss had with Ruby prior to the relationship. With Blake, once they got rid of Sun her closest friend and confidant in the show and dropped her WF plot, she kind of didn't have much in the story outside of Yang. I think it would've been harder for the writers to completely reinvent Weiss's personality, especially because I truly think a lot of the fandom doesn't give a crap about Blake past her romantic relationships, but a lot of people seem to like Weiss and liked her connection to Ruby, so the writers probably would've felt pressure to not change Weiss up too much.
Number Ten: The relationship feels like the opposite of what Blake needs as a former abuse victim. Weiss is also an abuse victim, but it's very different. Blake's abuser was her romantic partner, who was aggressive specifically in the blowing up way, who got angry at her for leaving and was possessive and controlling, who made Blake nervous but disregarded it. And although Yang could've grown into a character who was more grounded and less prone to angry outbursts who learned to let go (which was where I thought she was headed after V5,) Yang instead has just seemed to grow angrier and more prone to outbursts, has been pretty possessive herself, and despite making Blake nervous often and despite knowing Blake's history of giving up, Yang filled her 'things I like about you' moment in the V9 confession scene with things like "you've never been intimidated by me" and "You don't run from things." And when Adam was screaming about how Blake would leave Yang and then in a moment born of trauma Blake promised not to ever leave Yang again, Yang was just like "I know you won't." Like ??? Blake as an abuse victim needs space, she needs a partner who is fine with her independence, not one who goes red-eye at the thought of them doing a mission apart and freaks out that Blake's opinion of her has changed when they're apart for a day. Blake should be with someone who isn't so quick to anger and have outbursts, Blake should be with someone who pays attention to her actually instead of going into what they like about her by saying things that aren't true. Blake needs someone who would be fine being apart because they know Blake is independent and they're fine with it. Either they should've taken Yang in a different direction like I thought they were going to, or they should've gone with a different ship. Because as is, I'm sitting here like "Wow Yang is really not the healthy option for Blake here, it's so sad to watch Blake cringe while Yang loses her temper."
Again, Blake and Yang could've been well done, but yeah I prefer Freezerburn tbh. I just think that since the writers apparently didn't want to put in the effort with Blake and Yang, it's put a damper on what could've otherwise been a good ship. Anyways, please nobody send me some stupid hate anon over this post.

Why do you think Lucy stayed with Chris after the whole trial prep thing? Personally I would've dumped him straight away
Oh, you and me both! I think Lucy is a bit like Tim in that regard : she doesn't know when to quit, even after realising that things aren't working. She always stayed in relationships that were past their expiration dates. Take her ex who cheated on her : she admitted she was only with him because she couldn't afford moving out. Then there was Nolan : she spent 4 episodes agonising over whether she should break up with him, before he beat her to it. No comment on Emmett… And even with Chris : it took her several days after her decision to actually dump him. There's clearly a pattern… Which is an interesting one for someone who has a history of commitment issues with her significant others.
So if I had to venture a guess, I'd say she stayed with Chris simply because she didn't want to be alone. She obviously cared for him, otherwise she wouldn't have been with him in the first place. But at that point, she was merely going with the flow and enjoying the companionship : she didn't necessarily agree with Chris, approve of everything he said/did but she also didn't think it was worth fighting over. Plus, pretty much all her friends were in steady relationships : Tim was with Ashley, Angela was married, Nyla was having a baby, Nolan was thinking of proposing… It can sometimes be lonely to be the only single person in a group (it's unclear how close to Aaron she was at the time). Add the facts that her best friend Jackson was gone, that she wasn't on speaking terms with her parents and it starts to pile up.
And finally, she just had to relive her trauma… I can see how she wasn't in the right emotional place for dumping her boyfriend, despite how he triggered her. Lucy sees the best in everyone… If she was ready to give him a chance after the way he treated her when they met, she might have thought his apology was sufficient. The thing is, she really needed a friend to confide to, to help her talk things through… and the only one present was Tamara. Only I doubt Lucy would have felt comfortable 'burdening' her with this. That's not their dynamic. This was one of the (many) times Jackson was sorely missed…
