Taylor Swift Wolfstar songs day 13
first of all, lets just acknowledge that yesterday’s song analysis sucked. I was tired and it wasn’t what I planned but oh well. Today’s will be better, also lucky number 13! Anyway, today’s song is Back to December from Speak Now. It is POV Sirius after the prank.
Your guard is up and I know why Because the last time you saw me Is still burned in the back of your mind You gave me roses and I left them there to die
Even though Remus doesn’t hate him any more, he is still guarded around Sirius. He keeps him at arms length and Sirius understands. He understands that Remus trusted him and all Sirius did was betray him.
These days, I haven't been sleepin' Stayin' up playin' back myself leavin' When your birthday passed and I didn't call Then I think about summer, all the beautiful times I watched you laughin' from the passenger's side And realized I loved you in the fall
Sirius can’t sleep bed all he ever sees is that night. All he thinks about is how he misses Remus. It’s like a part of his life is gone, and it is. Because Remus and Sirius had so many happy moments together. Sirius reflects on the time they shared and how he fell in love with Remus, right before it all went wrong.
And then the cold came, the dark days When fear crept into my mind You gave me all your love and all I gave you was goodbye
The pressures of war and family began to creep into Sirius’s mind. They pulled him down and he didn’t stop them. All Remus did was love Sirius and all Sirius gave him was a broken heart and a knife in the back.
I miss your tan skin, your sweet smile So good to me, so right And how you held me in your arms that September night The first time you ever saw me cry
Sirius misses everything thing about Remus; even seeing his face, now that Remus won’t even meet his eyes. He goes back to all the times Remus was there for him, all of his darkest moments.
Maybe this is wishful thinkin' Probably mindless dreamin' But if we loved again, I swear I'd love you right
Sirius knows that it’s improbable, impossible even, but if Remus forgave him he would do it all right.
I'd go back in time and change it, but I can't So if the chain is on your door, I understand
Sirius wishes he could change what happened but he can’t so if Remus won’t forgive him or even talk to him then it’s understandable.
But this is me swallowin' my pride Standin' in front of you sayin' I'm sorry for that night And I go back to December all the time
But Sirius faces his fears of rejection and his stupid pride to apologize to Remus because he has to. He goes back to that night all the time.
It turns out freedom ain't nothin' but missin' you Wishin' I'd realized what I had when you were mine I'd go back to December, turn around and change my own mind
Sirius learns that being without Remus, even at the pleasure of snape leaving him alone, is only pain. He wishes he would have figured out just how much he loved Remus before. He wishes he could go back and stop himself, change his mind, do anything so that he would still have Remus.
please let me know what you think! As always, if you have recommendations or requests, leave them in the comments . Happy Wolfstar and happy March 13!

((the long-awaited continuation of this. Also fits the prompt for @silversickles‘ minifest: pranks.))
“So,” Lily says, casually taking a sip of her drink. “Who did you give your number?”
“What-,” Remus sputters, “How did you know I gave someone my number?”
Lily grins at him. “I didn’t. But also, you’ve been fiddling with your phone for hours now. So, who did you give your number?”
“I didn’t.”
Lily’s grins only becomes wider. “You’ve been here for what, a week? You certainly don’t waste any time.”
“Yes,” Remus says, grasping at straws. “Only a week. Which means you don’t know me well enough to ask this.”
Green eyes stare at him, unwavering, until, once again, Lily laughs at him. “Nice try.”
“Thank you. Anyway, what did you have for Slughorn’s tes-”
“Who is it, Remus?”
A sigh escapes Remus lips. “Okay, so, remember when you told me about the marauders, and that ‘I should just be careful’ even though they are ‘good people’.”
Lily slaps a hand over her mouth, her eyes sparkling. “Tell me you didn’t.”
Defeated, he looks at the floor. “I did. But, in my defense, Sirius Black is hot.”
“James Potter is hot too, and you don’t see me giving him my number, do you?”
Remus simply raises an eyebrow, because while he may know Lily for only a week, it’s already very obvious that Lily wouldn’t pass up on the opportunity to score a date with James Potter (she calls him hot a little too often for him to think otherwise.).
Lily shoves him in response. “Shut up.”
Remus does, and in the silence that follows, he hears the tell-tale ping of a notification. Lily looks at him, wide-eyed. Remus looks back, then picks up the phone.
Unknown number (15:15): Hey Remus, this is Sirius.
Unknown number (15:15): From detention.
“I can’t believe that worked.” Lily says from where she’s breathing over Remus shoulder, “You’re cute, I can see that, but what would you even have done if he wasn’t interested?”
Remus just shrugs, a move that, unfortunately, doesn’t manage to move Lily back to a normal position. “I could always have pretended to be someone else.”
Lily’s eyes start light up. “You should still do that. He deserves it for making you wait so long. Plus, it would be funny.”
He considers it, for a moment, and then before he knows it he has typed something out. Lily presses send before he can delete it.
Remus (15:16): Dear Sirius, unfortunately I do not know this Remus you speak of... Could it be you have the wrong number? Also, I know this is not my place to say, but school is important! You can’t learn while in detention. - Kind regards, Bertha Smith.
“You just did that.” Lily giggles. “You got the tone of an older grandma exactly right, too.”
“Thank you.” Remus says, who is still not sure why he send that, but he has to agree with Lily: it is funny.
Sirius: oh
Sirius: yes, it must’ve been a wrong number
Lily, from her place on Remus shoulder (exactly the place where one of those little cartoon devils would be) pokes him in the shoulder. “I bet he’s really disappointed right now.”
“Yeah, sure.” Remus says, sarcasm dripping off of every syllable.
“Dude, he messaged you, of course he’s disappointed.”
Again, his phone ping’ed.
Sirius: thanks for telling me
Remus: Dear Sirius, of course! Did you get Remus’ number, after all? -Kind regards, Bertha Smith.
“You, Remus Lupin, are cruel.”
Sirius (15:21): I didn’t, but what can you do
“Oh yes, Lily, you were right, the disappointment practically oozes off him.”
Sirius: Did you, by the way, know that in texting you do not have to greet someone or sign off?
Remus: Dear Sirius, you don’t? - Kind regards, Bertha Smith.
“Can’t believe he’s trying to teach this grandma texting etiquette. Maybe I understand what you see in him.”
Sirus: no, because it’s already obvious who is texting whom
“I take it back, did he seriously just use ‘whom’, what a nerd.”
Sirius: you do you though
Remus: Like this?
Sirius: Exactly! :D
“Fuck, fuck, fuck.”
Lily immediately gets off his shoulder to look him in the eye. “What is it?”
“Why the fuck do I think that emoji is this cute? I’m serious, it felt like my heart skipped a beat for a second.”
She rolls her eyes. “You’re fine, just crushing very hard.”
“Those two things can’t possibly co-exist.”
Lily lays a hand on his shoulder. “Look, buddy, this has been very funny, but I think it’s time you stop procrastinating and confess who you are.”
“Fine.”
Remus: Dear Sirius, thanks very much for your help, but I’d like to sign off one last time. -Kind regards, Remus Lupin.
Sirius: WHAT THE-
Sirius: wait you really are Remus and not Bertha, right?
Remus: well, technically I was also Bertha.
Remus: but yes I am Remus
Remus: Hi
Sirius: WHAT THE FUCK
Sirius: I’ll admit you got me good
Remus: thank you
Remus: would you still like to go on a date sometime?
Sirius: yes please
Lily high-fived him.

King and Queen | S.B
Paring: Sirius Black X Fem!Potter!Reader, James Potter X Fem!Twin!Reader
Summary: James goes through a lot during his time at Hogwarts but his sister is always by his side.
Inspiration: Click
A/N: If this comes off insensitive to anyone please let me know and I will remove this.
James Potter was a handful. From the minute he was born, he had this gleam in his hazel eyes that raged and burned with trouble. His twin, Y/n Potter, was almost the opposite. The soft smile that laid on her features and the glitter of calamity in her eyes. Euphemia and Fleamont were in for a lot the minute their twins were born.
Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder is most comparative to having a web browser up with one too many tabs. James had always been unable to focus and was naturally messy. Truth be told, he thought it was normal, just as everyone else did. It wasn’t until his second year at Hogwarts did he realize something was genuinely wrong with him.
Remus told him that he had this muggle thing called “dyslexia,” which was a difficulty in interpreting words, letters, and other symbols. However, it never affected his overall intelligence because everyone knew that Remus Lupin was indeed and wholly brilliant. It got James wondering, did his inability to focus, be organized, and hyperactivity have a deeper meaning?
His twin - Y/n - was quite the opposite. She made quick friends with Remus, Sirius, and Peter, who were close friends of her twin. Y/n was top of their class, creating a friendly competition with Remus, but she was always able to focus. Often she would hyper-focus, which would leave her working for over five hours at a time without realizing it. In those times, James would have to snap her out of it.
Over the summer, James expressed his concerns to his parents. He was talking about how this could be a real issue he’s facing using Remus’ dyslexia as an example. Eventually, they gave in, letting James go to a muggle doctor. James had to fill out a questionnaire that would come back with his results in one week. That week was probably the longest week of his life. Nonetheless, his test results had come back positive.
Fleamont and Euphemia would be lying if they were surprised. After hearing about the disorder, it was almost the definition of their eldest son. Fortunately for James, the muggles had come up with a cure - no, not a cure - dammit, what was it again?
Impede the symptoms! That’s what those muggle pills do. James was required to take two pills a day, one in the morning and once at night. Y/n was in charge of making sure he did so because - more times than he’d like to admit - he would forget everything if it wasn’t for Y/n.
In third year, James was as energetic as ever while getting on the Hogwarts Express, “Aren’t you excited, Y/n?!”
She chuckled, “Yes, but Merlin, you don’t need to literally jump with joy.”
“But I’m excited!”
“I know that.”
They made their way to the compartment that held Remus, who was reading a book. James sat in front of him while Y/n took her seat beside Remus, “‘Ello Remus.”
“Hey, Potter pair.”
Y/n sighed, and James groaned, “That nickname needs to go away.”
“I quite like it.” Remus stated smugly, “Suits you both.”
“What’s that suppose to mean?” Y/n accused falsely, “It means that wherever one of you are, the other isn’t that far behind.” Remus replied.
James had zoned out already, and Y/n snapped in his face, “Take your pills?”
“Forgot.” James muttered guiltily, “Oh Godric.” She whispered.
“Pills?”
“James went to a muggle doctor this summer.”
Remus quirked an eyebrow, “Did you now?”
“Got diagnosed with ADHD.” James informed, and Remus looked amiss, “Attention Deficit Hyperactive Disorder.”
“Ah, I’ve heard of that.” Remus said, and James smiled sheepishly, “I feel kinda odd, like out of place.”
“Why?”
“Dunno, just, why can't I be normal?”
“You are normal, James.” Y/n reassured, “And anyone who says differently obviously doesn’t care about you.”
The compartment door slammed open, “Who doesn’t care about who?”
Remus snorted, “Ever the dramatics, huh, mate?”
“‘Course.” Sirius flopped down beside James, “It comes with my charm and devilishly good looks.”
“Ah, yes.” Y/n said, chuckling, “Don’t you see how I’m swooning for you?”
The back of her palm was against her forehead, “Come off it.” James swatted at her and then elbowed Sirius, “Better not make my sister swoon.”
Sirius chuckled and shrugged, “Can’t help it. I’m just that irresistible.”
The four of them laughed at Sirius’ dramatics and continued talking about the new term. Remus and Y/n were talking about books they couldn’t wait to read. Remus was even kind enough to gift her some muggle books he bought over the summer holiday. Sirius and James bickered about what pranks to do this year, along with which ones were better.
Third-year was fun. It was a year of flooding corridors, turning Slytherin robes red and blasting music in the common room after a Gryffindor victory. James was a brilliant Quidditch Chaser, and Y/n was a fantastic Seeker. Nothing was quite like the Potter pair. Something about them was just unforgettable.
Maybe that’s why Sirius was so fond of her. Something about the Potters made people around them smile on the hardest of days. They made sure that every moment was a night to remember. Every memory was worth reliving. So adventurous, so reckless, yet so kind and loving.
By the time fifth year rolled around, Sirius Orion Black had fallen off a cliff into a lake called love. Sirius completely submerged himself in love for Y/n Potter. The younger twin by just 20 minutes, but something about her was so divine. Was it her silk and glittering h/c hair? No - maybe it was her gleaming e/c eyes. Perhaps it was for her strive for adventure and extreme kindness.
Nonetheless, Sirius fell hard.
And who better to tell than James Potter himself?
Causally - as usual - Sirius opened the door to the Marauders dorm. It was empty aside from the brunet boy with glasses on the bridge of his nose. His hazel eyes were focused on a textbook - Potions textbook - maybe it was to impress Lily. Sirius couldn’t care less, so he pulled the chair out in front of the desk and sat before James.
“Mate, I need your help.”
“Running from Filch?”
“No. Something- Something worse.”
“Something worse?” The textbook shut loudly.
Sirius nodded, “Way worse.”
“Alright then, come into my office.” James teased, and Sirius grinned.
It was silent, “I’m in love with your sister.”
James sputtered, “Excuse me?”
“I’m in love with Y/n.”
“No, no.” James waved his hand horizontally, “I heard you.”
“Then what else would you like me to say?” Sirius asked.
“Literally anything else.”
“Sorry, mate.” Sirius muttered, “I- I really didn’t mean to.”
James chuckled and wiped his hand across his face, “I suppose you can’t really stop love, huh?”
“You really can’t.” Sirius agreed, “I tried. I promise I tried.”
“It’s not that big of a deal late.” James assured, and Sirius looked at him with wide eyes, “I trust you just-“
“Just?”
“I’m worried about her.” James completed, “I- I worry about her every night.”
Sirius softened, “It’s like you with Regulus-“ James continued before Sirius could interject, “And don’t pretend. Your silencing charms are bloody terrible.”
“I know you still care for Regulus, you worry about him every night, and I do the same for Y/n, except my silencing charms are better.” James teased sightly, “I trust you, Sirius. You’re the brother I never got but always wanted. You know, the brother I can play Quidditch with, rough around with, the brother who’s just as sneaky and mischievous as I.”
“But Y/n is still my blood. She's my twin, my best friend, my partner in crime. She was the mind behind my pranks before Remus.” James elaborated and then smirked, “Remus and Y/n make a great team, ya’ know?”
“They are quite brilliant.”
“Anyway, what I’m trying to say is, take care of her?” James looked like the eleven-year-old boy again, “Don’t make her a fling and don’t make this temporary.”
“Y/n is a strong woman, and she isn’t for weak men. I’ll be honest,” James chuckled, “She doesn’t need a man. She doesn’t even really need me. I need her more than she needs me. Regardless, take care of her. She deserves a man worthy of her. Someone that’ll get her ice cream at 4 a.m. because she’s craving it. Someone that’ll go on sporadic trips with her. Someone that’ll understand that after a hard day, all she wants is a book and coffee.”
Sirius was appalled; he’d never seen James look so passionate, “Growing up, mum always told me to be a gentleman. I know it may not seem like it sometimes, but she always raised me as one. To hold a door for them, push and push in their chairs for them, give them my jacket even if I’ll freeze.”
“Those kinda things. Dad said I should practice on Y/n, and I did. From then, Y/n always got treated like a queen, and she deserves no less. I won't lie, my parents treat me like a king too, and I don’t want any less either.” James explained, “Be the king that’s worthy of my sister.”
“That’s all I ask of you.”
Sirius nodded, “I’d be honored to serve her as my queen.”
“And if you show her no less, she’ll spit you out like chewing gum.”
He shuttered, “I hate how accurate that phrase is.”
James laughed, “I know her more than you think.”
By sixth year they were dating. Sirius would be lying if he wasn’t eternally shitting himself when Y/n said yes to going to Hogsmeade with him, alone, as a date. In fact, James almost wanted to throw him a party for finally not being a little bitch and asking out his sister. This party consisted of a bottle of firewhiskey and chocolate because that’s all that was in the boy's dormitory. But a party nonetheless.
When Lily rejected James for the last time before graduation, he was utterly heartbroken. He’d spent and dedicated seven years of his life to this gorgeous woman. Despite all his efforts and all his charms, she still wasn’t interested. James tried. He really tried. He wanted Lily so bad. His heart broke when she said her final words of goodbye.
“I’m sorry, Potter. Maybe in another life, just not this one.”
Tears had ebbed at the corner of his eyes as he made his way back into the castle from the Black Lake. In the common room, where he felt like he had just got dowsed in water. James made his way to the girl's dormitory. His hand curled into a fist and knocked lightly on the wooden door. Shuffling was heard from the other side, and the door finally opened, revealing his sister.
Without warning, James crashed into her arms, forcing his nose in the crook of her neck, “Woah.”
“Are you okay, James?”
His body shook with sobs as he shook his head no, “It’s okay. Let’s go lay down, okay?”
Gently she led him to her bed. He curled up beneath the navy blue comforter and placed his head on the silk pillow sheets. If he tried hard enough, he could forget the way Lily’s hair smelt today or the way her green eyes glistened in the sun. Now engulfed in his sister's scent, trying to remove every feeling for Lily possible, he dug his nose deeper into the comforter.
Y/n sat beside him, her back to the headboard, and ran her fingers through James’ already untied hair, “What's got you so worked up?”
“It’s done.”
“What’s done?”
“L- Lily and I.” James choked, “She- She really doesn’t want me.”
A new wave of tears overcame him, and Y/n continued to try and soothe him, “Well, she’s a tosser.”
James narrowed his eyes, “James, you know I love her. She's my best friend, but if she can’t see what’s right in front of her, then she’s an idiot.”
“Can I- Can I stay here tonight?” He asked hesitantly.
“You sure you don’t want me to stay at your dorm?” Y/n questioned, “Because you know who sleeps here.”
“Will you stay with me?”
“Till the end.”
After a couple of minutes, Y/n and James made their way down the steps to the boy's side. They walked up more steps and finally made it to the boy's dormitory. James collapsed on his bed in the left corner of the room, and Sirius perked up at seeing his girlfriend enter the room.
“Whatcha doin’ here, love?”
“Staying with my brother.”
Sirius nodded and stood up to hug her, gently pecking her forehead, “If you guys need anything, let me know, ‘kay?”
“Thanks, Siri.”
Gently Y/n pulled back the maroon curtain and sat down beside him again. James reached for her hand and intertwined their fingers. Something they used to do as kids. When a thunderstorm would go by, James would always seek sanctuary in his sister's comfort.
He fell asleep that night, knowing he was safe, loved, and knew that someone cared about him. Even if Lily didn’t love him, at least someone else did. He had his boys, and he had his sister. Right now, that’s all he needed beside him: Screw Lily and her idiot decision skills. Y/n was right; she was a complete tosser.
When Hogwarts was over, James and Y/n got a flat together. Sirius, Remus, and Peter got one only a floor above. Realistically this wasn’t the plan. James always planned to buy a house with Lily, but he was still healing, and after everything going on, it was vital for him to hold his sister close to him.
Euphemia and Fleamont barely lived to see their children graduate. Not too long afterward had died due to the horrid dragon pocks. It devastated both twins and Sirius. While Sirius wasn’t their true child, he very well could’ve. Euphemia noticed Sirius’s lingering stares on Y/n and the loopy smile that graced his features.
She was the one who got Sirius to man up. She was the one who gave him advice. She was the one who told him what books were her favorite, which chocolate she liked the best, her favorite quills. Euphemia was one of the main components in getting Sirius to date her daughter, and when it finally happened, the parents couldn’t have been happier.
James’ ADHD still remained even in his adulthood, making regular everyday tasks much harder and twice as long. Most of the time, the pills were able to help him complete those tasks. But sometimes, when Y/n wasn’t there to remind him, he would miss his days. When Y/n got home from work, she had barely taken off her shoes to see the apartment spotless.
It was a pleasant surprise, but James was never really one to clean, not that she really minded, but the apartment didn’t have a speck of dust on it. Hesitantly she put her keys on the island along with her bag.
“James!”
“Yes, Y/n?”
He appeared in the kitchen where Y/n was, “Um, did you clean the apartment?”
“Yes, I did!” James nodded enthusiastically.
Y/n sighed and gave her brother a sweet smile, “What did you not do today?”
“So, you know how you told me to go to the pharmacy?”
“Mhm.” Y/n nodded, “Indeed I do.”
“Well, they were out of my meds.” James informed, “I have to wait a week.”
“Oh, Merlin.”
“On the bright side!” James was already causing her a headache, “It’s gonna be a fantastic week! I’ve got so many things planned for us! We’re gonna go-“
James continued to ramble as Y/n grabbed her keys, bag and slipped back on her shoes, “I’m going to Sirius’!”
“Thought you were my sister.” James faked pouting, and Y/n smiled, “I love you, but you’re crazy.”
“I love you too!” He yelled as she closed the door.

mirrorball
Remus Lupin x femReader fluff
A/n: this idea came to me while listening to Mirrorball by Taylor Swift- it’s such a 🥰 song which I want to fall in love to so here’s a fic manifesting that lmao (also the gif isn’t mine;credits to the owner)
Warnings: kissing (?), Sirius being suggestive (what’s new) so 13 + , slight insecurity on part of the reader, FLUFFFFF, will make you want to attend the Yule Ball really badly
Tumblr media
The stairs leading down to the great hall were carpeted with a luxurious royal blue. The marble railings had pearls and holly twisting around them and the air carried a serene scent of honeysuckle. Chandeliers were suspended above, casting a warm light on the delighted students. Hogwarts really was beautiful during the Yule Ball.
Taking a deep breath, you let the atmosphere calm your nerves. You straightened out your white silk dress that cut off a little above your knees in the front and cascaded down to the ground at the back. The straps closed in on where your neck and shoulders met, forming a gracefully simple halter design. Lilly had convinced you to let her do your hair- she was probably more excited than you about the fact that your crush, Remus Lupin, had asked to take you as his date to the Yule Ball. You were glad you succumbed to her incessant pleads because your hair was tied up in an elegant bun and had tiny pearls scattered across the auburn locks.
Ever since third year potions when you and Remus happened to sit together, you knew you were starting to really fall for the brown haired boy. You doubted he felt the same for you though- he was intelligent, attractive, kind and...perfect. There were so many gorgeous girls in Hogwarts so what made you special to him? Lilly however, would practically yell at you for being so “blind”. “YOU BLIND IDIOT HOW DO YOU NOT SEE HOW HE SMILES SO GOOFISHLY LARGE AT YOU?! REMUS IS HEAD OVER HEELS FOR YOU BUT YOU BOTH ARE BLOODY COWARDS TO DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT!” she would often say.
When he asked you to the ball, you felt hopeful about things...maybe just maybe he felt something too? Or maybe he wanted to take you as a friend? All these questions buzzed through your head as you slowly made yourself down the stairs. Your fingers grazed the holly clad railings as a swarm of hippogriffs raced inside your stomach. Shaking your head to clear your thoughts, you reached to bottom of the stairs where the two of you had agreed to meet. You stretched your neck and scanned the room, searching for the boy you had crushed on for nearly two years.
There he was, standing with James, Sirius and Peter who were all laughing merrily at a joke. Remus looked breathtakingly handsome. He was the tallest amongst them all, his light brown hair that you had always desired to stroke was pushed back, his dress robes were navy blue and fit him perfectly. His face was etched with the scars of his secret which you admired- you always felt honored by the fact that you were one of the people he trusted enough to tell. Remus’ eyes sparkled as he chuckled at something James had said.
 All of a sudden you felt your breathing quicken and your heart ache. You couldn’t do this. ‘Am i stupid?’ You thought to yourself, ‘Why would he ever like me when he could have any girl he wants? I’m just an ordinary girl- he deserves better than me.’ Consternation clouded your mind and right then you had resolved to go back to your dorm and if not you would probably throw up on him in a state of anxiety. Now that would be embarrassing. It isn’t like Remus would miss you anyways right? He could just get another girl at the last moment to be his date- and that lucky girl would all too willingly oblige.
Just as you turned on your heel to go back up, you felt a warm hand wrap around your shoulder. You turned you head in confusion and you eyes were met with sparkling hazel ones- it was Remus. “ Y/n! You look gorgeous-wow” His sweet yet husky voice rang out, his eyes taking you in. Heat rose to your cheeks at his words. ‘He’s just being nice he doesn’t mean it obviously’ you told yourself, not letting yourself get hopeful just to be let down . “Oh uh hi there Remus. Um thanks you too” you greeted, slurring your words out, flustered. His lips curved upwards in a smile and his hand left your shoulder. He raised his eyebrows, silently asking if it was okay to take your hand. You nodded slowly, still in a daze. Remus’ large hand softly enveloped yours as he lead you to his friends.
Sirius looked away from the girl on his arm who’s name was Marlene. She smiled at you cordially and complimented your dress. Sirius’ greeting on the other hand was well- unique. To expect anything else would be out of the question though ; you had known him ever since you were seven because of boring pure blood family banquets you were forced by your parents to attend. The two of you always sought each other’s company instead of those other stuck up, nauseating witches and wizards present . “y/l/n! good day!” he said, mockingly bowing. “Don’t you look ravishing, little one” You rolled your eyes jokingly at him, trying to seem calm and respond like you normally would, “Yes hello to you too Sirius.” He joked about you him being your mentor in regards to sneaking away and pranking slimy, prejudiced, pure bloods.
“Hi y/n how are you” James greeted you sort of distractedly, looking around you. “Prongs! stop looking for Lilly jeez she said no to you five times i seriously doubt she’s gonna change her mind now” Sirius said exasperatedly. “James was hoping Lilly would be with you” Remus explained, chuckling lightly in with a mocking undertone. James crossed his arms at Remus’ taunting, “Oh don’t pretend like you weren’t worrying your arse about y/n ditching you because she was 2 minutes late” Remus scowled at his friend, red staining his cheeks.
“Awww” you giggled, sort of relieved that he actually wanted you there. So maybe there was nothing to worry about. ‘Just relax’ you told yourself. Remus returned you smile still blushing and gazed at you for a bit until he was broken from his reverie by Sirius voice. “Moony why do you look like you’re mentally undressing y/n- save it for after the ball when you can actually do it” he said winking suggestively, causing the whole group to break out in a chorus of laughter. Remus scowled at Sirius, shoving his shoulder playfully. Your face turned red as you shoved him too “Do you always have to be so immature and crude” you remarked, shaking your head in feigned disappointed. Sirius stuck his tongue out at you.
You felt Remus grasp your hand, “Let’s get out of here before i get embarrassed even more” He murmured. “Let’s go dance” You suggested before racing into the great hall, hand in hand, the both of you chuckling at you trying not to trip in your heels. The great hall was decked out in gorgeous Christmas decor- enchanted snowflakes fell to the ground, pine trees were adorned with bobbles and garlands and a thousand candles floated around, casting light over the formally dressed students and teachers. A merry chatter floated in the air, instantly having you excited for what the night would entail.
As you both made your way to the crowd, the band hoisted on the blue platform started playing Killer Queen by Queen. All the students including Remus and you starting cheering and dancing, full of energy. You grasped both his hands, reveling in the moment, jumping and dancing together, singing the lyrics till your throats were sore. As the chorus rang out, Remus pretended to be holding a mic to his mouth and sang the lyrics to you. You had very rarely seen this playfully goofy side of him and you absolutely adored it. Clenching your stomach which was aching from the waves of laughter that had overcome you, you fell to the ground, causing Remus to join you in the laughter. As his shoulders shook with uncontrollable chuckles, he reached his hand down to you, which you took. In that moment, you had completely forgotten about your anxiety and insecurities. Being here, laughing and dancing with him was enough. Nothing could be more perfect that watching his gorgeous face overcome with joy.
A few moments passed, allowing everyone to calm down and catch their breaths until the soft tune of a piano being played could be heard. All the couples took their places on the floor and started swaying slowly. “Did I tell you how amazing you look tonight?” the brown haired boy asked you as he lightly placed his hands on your waist, guiding you to the notes of the music. Maybe he did mean it? Your heart fluttered at the thought. The mirror ball above rotated slowly, casting glittering reflections on the both of you. “You look quite wonderful yourself” you said as you hesitantly placed both of your hands on top of his shoulders and stepped closer to him. You gazed into his hazel eyes, searching for something you had wanted for a long time. He gazed right back, never breaking contact. Remus’ eyes glittered in the warm light and within them you identified happiness. Yes that was definitely happiness...but there was something more. Remus’ calloused fingers were brought up to push a stray strand of hair out of your face, his hand grazing your skin ever so slightly, again giving rise to the hippogriffs in your stomach but this time they were conjured from joy rather than nerves.
You had not realized how long the two of you were completely entranced by each other until the music came to a halt. The both of you were broken away from your thoughts, but remained holding each other. Then Remus spoke, never leaving your eyes, “Y/n... I don’t know how to say this. I uh I have never done this before” He said, a look of hesitance falling over his face. He took a deep breath before continuing. “You’re so wonderful in every aspect fathomable and I really like you”. Remus scanned your face, worry ghosting his expressions as you remained silent. Your face was blank, but internally you were processing what just happened. “I’m sorry i shouldn’t have-” he started, taking his hands away from your waist, but then you leaned up, taking his face in your hands and crashed your lips onto his.
They tasted more marvelous than you could have imagined- like fire whisky and chocolate. All the day dreams you had gotten lost in during classes had finally become a reality. He kissed right back placing his hands on your lower back to bring you closer to him. Your hands trailed from his jaw to his neck, feeling the scarred, warm skin under your fingers- it was perfect, he was perfect. As you deepened the kiss you felt him smile against your lips before pulling away and placing his forehead on yours, reveling in the moment. “I really like you too” you whispered, your breath hot against his lips.
Cheers erupted from around the two of you and you turned your head to see the three marauders and a group of students clapping and cheering the both of you on. “MOONY YOU DID IT!” you heard James yell out, a proud smile plastered across his face as Sirius cheered again. Your gaze fell on a particular scarlet haired girl who was jumping enthusiastically- Lilly. You smiled wide as the two of you exchanged excited looks. “I told you” she mouthed before blowing a kiss at you.
Remus rubbed your back, pulling you into his side,bringing his mouth to your ear, “Wanna go up to the common room?” You nodded, pecking his cheek once more. You could not believe that he actually liked you- you could explode with happiness. When the two of you had reached the doors leading to the staircase where it was more quiet you stopped to take your heels off that were killing your poor feet. Before you could do so, Remus swiftly swooped you up in his arms, “No need, i can just carry you up” he said flashing you a large grin. You giggled, threading your arms around his neck and with your free hand carded your fingers through his soft brown hair. “I’ve always wanted to do that” you admitted. He laughed in response. “We can sit by the fireplace, I’ll get us some snacks and we can talk. We can also do more of this” he swooped down to plant a lingering, sweet kiss on your lips. “How does that sound?”
“Mmmm that sounds perfect” You replied, resting your head against his chest. This felt like home. And the best part was that this wasn’t a dream- it was all reality.
Hi there! I hope you enjoyed. If you have any suggestions for what I should write next, let me know!

pt. 2
-
tell me that you love me (j.p one shot)
You watched from the corner of the room as the entire Gryffindor Common Room erupted in laughter as the Marauders told the story of one of their infamous pranks. James was positively glowing, dancing under the moonlight that managed to sneak through the curtains. In his hand was a cup, that no doubt contained his alcoholic concoctions that nobody but he dared to try. His eyes closed in glee as he threw his head back in laughter, watching Sirius mimic the way Snape looked after their successful prank.
You smiled behind your cup, truly enchanted by the boy you found yourself longing for. When you said yes to your agreement, you thought your biggest worry would be an unexpected pregnancy, caused by two teenagers who were too careless for their own good. You thought your biggest worry would be the teasing from the rest of the Marauders— which still happened, just not to the extremity that you expected. You thought that your biggest worry would be some awkward tension after the first time between you and James, that you knew would subside eventually.
You never thought that you’d fall in love— fall so stupidly, irretrievably, and hopelessly, in love with the boy who loved another.
You watched his eyes follow Lily as she walked across the room, chatting away with her friends about her latest Potions assignment. James didn’t even try to conceal his affections for her. He always loved her so loudly, as if his silence would mean he loved her any less than he actually did. You just had to sit back and watch as her rejections only fueled him to try harder. It was somewhat admirable, though you knew that you would’ve found it more endearing had you not been in love with him.
James finally tore his eyes away from Lily, sensing you looking at him from afar. He flashed you a toothy grin, completely oblivious to the thoughts that were plaguing your mind and the butterflies that swarmed in your stomach. A playful smirk tugged his lips as he furrowed his eyebrows, lifting his hand up to call you over.
You shook your head, politely declining as you sipped from your cup. He rolled his eyes, dramatically sighing before making his way to you. He planted himself right in front of you, leaning against the post that was beside him. James ran his fingers down from the top of your arm to your fingers, absentmindedly twisting his fingers with yours. He’s always been an affectionate friend, these simple actions were normal for the both of you, but it didn’t stop your cheeks from burning red.
He chuckled, watching your reaction, “Do I make you flustered, Y/N? After all this time? After all we’ve done together, me touching your hand, is what gets you flustered?”
You shoved him, shaking your head to deny his claims, “The alcohol is getting to me, Potter. Don’t flatter yourself.”
“The alcohol?” he asked, not believing any of your words, “You’ve barely touched your drink. I’m pretty sure you’ve been sipping that drink for the last hour.”
“Well, excuse me if I don’t want to be pissed drunk tonight,” you hummed, chugging your drink down anyway.
James licked his lips, watching the lone drop of alcohol slip past your pink lips. He brushed it away with his thumb, collecting the liquid before letting his own tongue taste it. His thumb stayed on top of his lips for a while, keeping you in a trance. You watched his tongue dart out of his mouth, softly licking the pad of his thumb, a teasing smile on his lips. He knew exactly what he was doing to you.
“Atta girl,” he whispered, peering down at your cup to see it empty. He turned around, picking up a bottle of firewhisky and pouring a generous amount into your cup, “Are you sure you don’t want to be pissed drunk tonight, sweetheart? It’s a good night for it.”
“I can think of a better way to spend the night.”
“Oh?” James cocked an eyebrow, a twinkle of mischief evident in his eye. His eyes trailed down your body, capturing his bottom lip between his teeth in the process. “Wanna get out of here?”
You ignored your better judgement— the voice in your head that told you to put yourself first for once. Deep down you knew you would feel terrible when you woke up to an empty bed in the morning, knowing James never once spent the night. You knew you’d have to smile and nod the next day over breakfast, as James gushed about how gorgeous Lily was. You knew you’d end up alone at the end of the day, at the end of it all.
But you couldn’t deny him, especially not when he’s looking as handsome as he does with his hair slicked back perfectly and a boyish innocence on his face. He patiently waited for your response, even though he knew you would say yes. James tucked a piece of your hair behind your ear, humming in content when you finally nodded.
His eyes lit up, already getting ready to slip past everyone in the small party to sneak up to your dormitory. James took the cup from your hands and placed it mindlessly on the table next to him. He pointed towards the stairs with his head, motioning for you to follow him. And like a lost puppy, like you always did, you followed right behind him.
You were almost at the start of the steps, going undetected for the most part, before Peter stopped the both of you. His hand tapped James’ shoulder, causing James to look at him impatiently. Peter didn’t realize what he was interrupting, starting up a conversation with you and James, to which you replied to with one word answers.
James shot you an apologetic look, intertwining your hands together. He mouthed, “Sorry.”
Clearing your throat, you finally spoke up with a sentence to offer the babbling boy, “Hey, Peter. James and I were just going to get some important stuff done, is there something in particular that you needed us for?”
The boy paused as if trying to remember if there was something important. Then he snapped up, tuning to face James, “Oh! Lily is looking for you.”
And just like that, you became nobody to James Potter.
His hand let go of yours as he pushed past you, running to where Lily stood. You grunted as his shoulder collided with yours, hissing in pain as you began to massage it. You watched his smile reach from ear to ear, heart breaking as he looked at Lily with pure adoration in his eyes. You let out a breath you didn’t even realize you were holding before stealing the cup that stayed untouched in Peter’s hand, drowning it in one go.
You coughed, a scowl evident on your face, “What in the hell was that?”
“Dunno,” he shrugged, “Prongs made it.”
“Dammit,” you muttered, already anticipating a mean hangover the next day. “So much for not getting pissed drunk.”
It seemed like tonight was just the night of bad decisions. You continued to ignore your better judgement, taking any and every drink being offered to you. You figured that if you weren’t going to get laid tonight, you might as well get drunk. Sirius shot you a wink as he slid over a cup with clear liquid in it.
You stared at it, fearing that it would be the last shot you take before you pass out. You lost count of how many drinks you’ve had over the past hour and a half. You shook your head, sliding it back to him, “No more for me, Pads.”
“Come on, Y/N/N,” he groaned, sliding it back to you again, “You’re the only one who can keep up with me.”
You reluctantly took the cup in your hand, ignoring Sirius’ silent celebration that you’re still standing with him. You drank the liquid quickly, gagging at the awful taste it left in your mouth, “You will literally be the death of me, Sirius Black.”
“Don’t go dying on me, Y/L/N,” Sirius chuckled, bidding you a goodbye, “We’re supposed to live forever!”
You sat on the couch, watching as students began to head up to their dormitories. It felt like you were silently watching everyone’s life pass you by, noticing things that you probably wouldn’t have paid any attention to if you were sober. You noticed two fifth years giggling and scurrying away to the girls’ dormitories, hands roaming each other’s bodies. The boy began to kiss up her neck and she pulled him flush to her chest before they disappeared into the night.
James was alone now, a goofy smile still on his face. He saw you sitting by yourself and plopped down next to you, half leaning on your body for support. He smelled different— like strawberries and flowers, like Lily. He let his head fall onto your lap. You sent him a tight-lipped smile, brushing his hair away from his forehead with your fingers. He snuggled deeper into your touch, a giddy hum slipping past his parted lips. Your mind was hazy, the alcohol finally catching up to you. You closed your eyes for a quick second, trying to calm the pounding in your head.
James poked your side, startling your moment of peace, “You tired?”
“You can say that,” you nodded, eyes fluttering closed. The alcohol in your system took over your senses. Words began to slip past your lips before you could think them through, “Stay?”
He looked up at you, his head laying flat on your lap. James knew he shouldn’t stay. It would be weird— two friends falling asleep on the couch together, friends who also happen to have sex every other day, but he looked at your tired figure and decided one night wouldn’t hurt. He awkwardly wrapped his arm around your waist, “Sure, Y/N/N.”
“Thanks, Prongs.”
James stared at the ceiling, thinking of Lily. He was making progress, he knew it. Lily was now looking for him, wanting to talk to him first. He smiled to himself, replaying their short conversations in his mind. He stirred around, shifting his body to fit snugly on the couch. He had so much energy in his body from the alcohol and the adrenaline he got after he walked Lily back to her dormitory. James could’ve swore she blushed when he wished her a goodnight.
He felt you move from under him, an indication that you were still awake, as he was. James cleared his throat, his voice hoarse from not speaking for a while, “Hey, Y/N/N?”
You kept your eyes closed, “Yes?”
“Do you think Lily would ever fall in love with me?”
Your eyes opened up, his words sparking a fuse in you. Suddenly, you were wide awake, the tiredness from the drinks you had were now replaced with boldness and to your dismay, recklessness. Without missing a beat you replied, “She’d be crazy not to.”
“Yeah?” he asked, fondness laced through his voice. He looked up at you, extending his neck to be able to stare at you in the eyes. “You really think so?”
 “‘Course, Prongs,” you gulped, trying to disguise the tears in your eyes as glossiness from your high. You decided to cut the tension with a joke, hoping that he won’t take notice of the way your voice shook as you spoke, “But then again, you can be pretty annoying so I wouldn’t blame her if she wanted nothing to do with you.”
“Stop sending me mixed signals,” he groaned, sitting up from his earlier spot. “You know I’m in love with her.”
You instantly missed his weight on you, a pang of jealousy hit you square in the chest. You let yourself smile at his words, fighting back the feelings that wanted to burst out of you. The liquid courage wasn’t helping the cause. You pushed his shoulder playfully, “Only joking. Lily would be absolutely mental not to fall in love with you, too.”
Your words gave James new-found hope. He began to talk about how beautiful Lily was, completely ignoring the way you faced away from him as he began to declare his love for her, yet again. You sniffled quietly, wiping your tears away with the sleeve of your jumper. James continued to speak, looking at the fire in the distance, love practically oozing out of eyes.
He sighed, adoringly in love, “She’s the best girl I’ve ever met, Y/N/N. Like I don’t think I’ve ever met anyone as great as her. Merlin! I don’t think I’d ever meet anyone as great as her. Isn’t she amazing?”
You weakly nodded, exhausted from holding in your sobs, “Yeah, Prongs she is.”
“Yeah, and she’s so smart— Hey, what’s wrong?” he frowned, noticing the tears that stubbornly slipped from your eyes, “Why are you crying?”
You couldn’t help but laugh at the boy in front of you— completely panicked, trying to figure out how on earth he should comfort a woman. You stared at him, feeling yourself fall deeper and deeper with every breath that he let past his lips. You cupped his face with your hand, knowing full well that you were no longer in control of your thoughts. If he were to ask you what’s wrong again, you were going to tell him. All of your sober thoughts will be spilled by your drunk self.
So you let yourself take advantage of this moment— this final moment— before you let go of James Potter forever.
You rubbed his cheekbone with the pad of your thumb, running over the new scar he got from playing Quidditch last week. You stared at his lips, remembering the way they felt like home whenever he kissed you. You studied his features, knowing it will be a long time from now before you get to be this close to him again. You smiled at him sadly, trying to look past the look of confusion on his beautiful face.
“Prongs,” you whispered, lips trembling, “Prongs, I… I’m in love with you.”
He sat there for a moment, completely silent, before he backed away from your touch. He backed up until his back hit the other side of the couch, wincing as the hard cushion jabbed against the small of his back. He stared at you in disbelief. James thought his ears were deceiving him because you? In love with him? That wasn’t possible. A nervous chuckle filled the silence, “Good one, Y/N.”
You sighed, dropping your head in your hands. You knew you had half your foot in the door at this point, there was no turning back now. You spoke into your palms, “I wish I was kidding.”
“But-... Y/N, we- no, no. We agreed, didn’t we?” he ran his fingers through his hair, tugging at the ends of it in frustration. “We agreed we wouldn’t catch feelings! I agreed, Y/N. You did too!”
“Sorry my feelings didn’t follow our binding contract,” you sarcastically remarked, half-irritated and half-nervous at his words, “I don’t know if you’re aware, Prongs, but feelings don’t really follow the rules.”
“Y/N,” he sighed angrily, pacing over to you. “No! This—” he motioned between the two of you, “—can’t happen.”
You knew the answer to your next question, but you couldn’t stop yourself from asking it anyway, “Why not James?”
“You know why.”
“Say it, anyway.”
“I’m not gonna say it now that I know—”
You pushed back, “Know what?”
James waved his hands around like a maniac, “This! You! Us! Now that I know about how you feel…. Ugh, Merlin’s beard, Y/N! I’m not gonna say it just to hurt you.”
“Why not?” you spat, getting up to confront him. “You didn’t have a problem gushing to me about your precious Lily a few minutes ago. Didn’t seem to have a problem talking about her right after you pull out of me, every single damn time. Prongs, you didn’t have a problem saying it then!”
“Because I didn’t know!” his voice was stern, but he lowered his volume, becoming aware of the time. He didn’t want to wake anyone up and have them listen into this conversation that the two of you were having now. “Y/N, I didn’t know that you… felt this way.”
You flinched as he shuddered, “No need to act like it’s the plague, James. My feelings for you aren’t bad.”
He ignored your comment, pacing back and forth in front of the fire, “Y/N, why?”
“Why what?”
“Why did you fall in love with me?” he asked, grimacing as the words rolled off his tongue, “Why did you not say anything before your feelings got stronger? We could’ve stopped this! Why now? Just… why?”
You pondered his questions for a moment, trying to figure out how you were going to phrase your words together. You took a deep breath, “I-I didn’t mean to, James. Trust me, if I realized that I was falling in love with you, I would’ve stopped this too. It’s just.. It happened so fast, Prongs. I think I woke up one day and it just clicked, y’know?”
You let out a wet chuckle, hoping that he would laugh along with you.
He didn’t.
You continued, “I think a part of me always has been in love with you, even before we made this deal or whatever you wanna call it. It just took me a while to realize it and once I did, I was selfish. I thought you’d realize that maybe you had feelings for me too.”
“You’re drunk,” he finally said. He shook his head, refusing to believe the words that he was hearing. “You’re just drunk and talking out your arse.”
“Potter, I’m serious!” you groaned, you pulled him by his forearm, twisting him around to face you. His chest collided with yours, the close proximity making you shiver. You felt his fingers touch the skin of your back, exposed by your jumper that hiked up. His hands found their way to your hips, like it always did. “I’m so in love with you, James. Is there any part of you that feels the same way?”
He stopped breathing. James’ eyes flickered between your eyes and your lips. His head slowly inched closer to yours, leaning down in an angle that seemed to almost capture your lips in a kiss. You felt his breath exhale from his mouth, the scent of firewhisky clouding your senses. You closed your eyes, awaiting the familiar feeling of his lips on yours. The feeling that you dreamt about every night and wished to wake up to every morning.
But it never came.
James’ hand pulled away from your skin, as if he was burned by touching you. He didn’t back away yet, he just let himself stand with his chest pressed against yours, but not daring to do anything else. His forehead knocked against yours softly, squeezing his eyes shut as he felt your eyelashes tickle his cheeks. You reluctantly opened your eyes, knowing that the minute you two made eye contact would be the end of whatever it was that you shared— agreement, friendship, relationship, whatever it was, will only be a memory.
James opened his eyes, moving his head away from yours. He stared into your eyes, feeling guilty for the next words that he was about to say. He whispered, so softly, you almost didn’t catch it, “I’m in love with Lily.”
A choked sob escaped your body, despite your protests against it. You quickly placed a hand over your mouth, not missing the way James cringed at the sound. You managed to put on a smile, although it was a pathetic one, you were proud of yourself for it. You nodded, weakly, feeling him pull away from you, “I know.”
James walked backwards on his way back to the boys’ dormitories. He couldn’t take his eyes off you, so vulnerable and broken and alone in the middle of the Common Room. He stopped before he reached the first step, debating on what he should do next.
You met his eyes, seeing the pity that filled them. Your pride was already long gone. It left the minute you confessed your love for him, knowing full well he was in love with someone else. So you spoke up before he disappeared into the dark of the night, before he left your life forever, “Can you kiss me? One last time?”
“Y/N…”
You closed your eyes, breathing out of your nose. Your chest grew heavy, knowing him well enough to know what that tone of his voice meant. No.
When you opened your eyes again, you were met with an empty Common Room. You stared at the spot where James once stood, listening to the sound of his receding footsteps tapping against the steps as he walked up to his dormitory.

“I don’t know where I’m going quite yet, but I know I want you here with me.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“Come on, (y/n), spill! Do you already know who it is?”
You were sitting by the lake with your best friend. It was a rather secluded spot, but you weren’t hiding, as classes had finished an hour ago. Even the warm breeze playing softly with your hair seemed to urge you; ‘tell, tell, tell!’
For almost six months now, you had been receiving letters. From whom, you couldn’t say, as they were all signed, ‘forever yours, your secret admirer.’
Giving in, even though deep down, you longed to talk about it, and you pulled the most recent letter from your robe.
“No, Lily, of course I don’t know who he is.”
“Or she,” Lily interjected.
“He or she,” you repeated. “I guess I never thought of it being a girl, but I guess it’s possible.”
“So, what did they say?”
You just handed her the paper, too embarrassed to read it aloud. It was already well creased after you read it so many times since it ended up on your desk that morning.
Her eyes lingered over the words every few sentences, her face lighting up in excitement.
“Ooh!” Lily exclaimed, eyes locking with yours. “(y/n)-”
She stopped short at the sound of bushes rustling behind you, tucking the paper treasure under her robes in case someone might see.
You spun around, hoping to Merlin no one saw the letter clearly dotted with hearts. Gray eyes met yours, eyes you immediately recognized as those belonging to Sirius Black.
Oh no.
The Marauders were notorious for their pranks, and while you had been lucky enough never to have experienced them firsthand, the fear that your luck was about to run out enveloped your heart like a thick fog you couldn’t see through.
“Ladies.” A charming smirk played on his lips as he winked, a gesture that seemed to be directed more at you than at Lily. “Mind if I steal (y/n) here away for a bit?”
“Sure, but watch it, Black,” Lily warned before making her way back to the castle. Sirius gave a mock salute in response, one she caught out of the corner of her eye and you saw her roll her eyes.
You were now alone with Sirius Black. Your crush.
Crap.
“So what brings you here, good sir?” you teased. “I must admit, you look suspiciously alone today.”
A look of confusion crossed his face before it was replaced by a flash of panic.
“No, no, no, I’m not here for a prank! Remus is busy being star student and James is looking for Lily. I swear, the day we prank you is the day I throw myself off a cliff.”
The determination in his eyes, as well as his promise, brought a soft smile to your face.
“So, you’re here because you’re bored? Or to keep me busy so James can catch Lily alone?”
“Merlin’s beard, woman, give me a break! I’m here because-” He stopped abruptly, as if to keep himself from saying something that was supposed to remain secret.
“Because?” you prompted, your voice no more than a whisper.
He averted his gaze, looking out over the water instead. A silence fell over the two of you, settling like a warm blanket.
Finally his eyes met yours again, his gaze intense, yet vulnerable at the same time.
“I like you.”
It was so soft, you would have missed it, had it not been for the stillness of your surroundings and the movement of his lips. You must have looked as incredulous as you felt; a small smile tugging at his lips as he repeated his statement.
“I like you, (y/n).”
When you didn’t reply, he cast his eyes downwards, muttering a brief word of apology as he moved to get up. At that moment, your ability to speak finally decided to come back from vacation in Hawaiï, and you grabbed his wrist.
“Wait!”
He watched you expectantly as you let go of his arm and nervously played with your fingers.
“I like you too, Sirius.”
His expression softened as he smiled, light and gentle like the sun’s rays on dewdrops that hadn’t evaporated yet that morning.
“It’s okay, love, I understand. You don’t need to say that to spare my feelings.”
“But I’m not!” you huffed in exasperation. “I really do like you; I swear it’s true. Sirius, have I ever lied to you?”
You swore you could pinpoint the exact moment he reverted to his flirty, confident self, as a cheeky grin appeared on his face.
“So, (y/n), will you go out with me? Yes… or yes?”
You rolled your eyes playfully, giggling at his attempt.
“Yes.”
“Well that’s a relief,” he grinned, sitting down next to you again. “You know, I think I practiced asking you out a good thirty times in the mirror.”
“You practiced asking me out… on yourself?”
He chuckled. “It sounds dumber when you say it that way. But yes, I did, and I must admit, it went quite well.”
“Mmm, I’m sure it did. Did you say yes?”
“Naturally. It’s only logical with such charms as mine.” He flipped his hair over his shoulder dramatically, like a model for a hair commercial.
The same comfortable silence settled over you again as you took in the events of the past half hour. Then his eyes met yours, gray like clouds on a snowy day, and you found yourself unable to look away.
“Can I kiss you?” he blurted out.
“Please do,” you breathed, anticipation bubbling somewhere low in your stomach and spreading throughout your body.
His hand brushed your cheek before coming to cup the back of your head, his other hand pulling you closer by your waist. Then his lips brushed yours, a feather-light touch, as if he were afraid you’d pull away. You gripped his shoulder with one hand, using the other to run your fingers through his hair in an attempt to assure him that you wanted this.
It was like someone flipped a switch in him. He pressed his lips to yours, and you knew if you had been standing, your legs would have buckled out from under you. The kiss wasn’t hungry like you expected it to be; instead it was sweet and loving, like you were the ambrosia of the greek gods, or the air he needed to live.
Suddenly, you knew why girls boasted about being kissed by him, gushing about the details to their friends. It always seemed strange to you; why they bragged about something that was essentially a one-time event, but now you understood. If you were to die today, at least you’d die happy.
The need to breathe finally forced you apart, but it wasn’t strong enough to break the spell that surrounded you. Sirius was still so close he filled your senses; all you could smell was Sirius, all you could hear was Sirius, and all you could feel was Sirius.
“I’ve wanted to do that for so long,” he murmured, pulling back so he could look at you as your eyes fluttered open.
“I’ll bet you have,” you grinned, not fully believing him but unwilling to ruin the moment with your doubts.
“It’s true, (y/n), I’ve only ever had eyes for you.”
“You’re serious?”
“Why, yes, I am Sirius,” he joked, but soo, turned serious again. “But I’m also forever yours.”
Forever- what?
“Wait, were you the one to write me all these letters?” Realization hit you as the pieces fell into place, and like the parts of a puzzle, they fit perfectly.
Sirius Black was your secret admirer.
“I’m surprised it took so long.” He was back to his teasing, a grin plastered on his beautiful features. “I almost thought I had to paint a large sign proclaiming-”
“Shut up, Black,” you muttered, shoving him playfully. “You’re so annoying.”
“But you love me anyways.”
Merlin, why did you have to fall for the cockiest prick in the school?
“You’re right, I do.”
His grin grew even wider at that, if that was even possible, and he leaned in to kiss you again.
You let him, because- well, why wouldn’t you?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It didn't take long before you grew closer, so close in fact, you were nearly attached at the hip. James often joked he ‘couldn’t tell where Sirius ended and you began’ but he would stop laughing when Remus smacked him upside the head and told him to ‘let them enjoy the beauty of love, Prongs.’
You now sat on Sirius’s bed, reading a book. Your homework was long finished and you were waiting for him to come back for cuddles. Why were you in the boys’ dorm? You were keeping Remus company while the other two were out playing a prank.
They burst through the door soon enough, chattering excitedly and laughing at their poor victim’s reaction. Sirius moved to lie on the bed with you but you stopped him. He tried again and you repeated your previous movement, leaving no space for him.
“Love, is there something I’m missing?”
“Yep.” You grinned cheekily. “You forgot kisses.”
A look of realization crossed his face as he chuckled. “I’ve kissed you so many times already, but I wouldn’t mind another.”
You leaned up to meet him as he captured your lips with his own, despite James’s gagging. You heard him yell in indignation; Remus must have smacked him again.
“Have I earned my seat?” he asked when you separated.
“Definitely.”
Shifting so he could sit behind you, you kissed him on the cheek quickly as he made himself comfortable behind you. His arms came to rest around your waist, pulling you into him. You felt his body warmth through your robes on your back and you snuggled into him.
“What are you reading?”
“A romance story,” you replied, turning the page and angling the book so he could read along, for you knew that while he’d never admit it in order to keep his reputation untarnished, he actually enjoyed reading from time to time.
“You’d think she has enough romance in her life with lover boy there,” James snickered to Remus. You only threw a pillow at him, barely looking up from the captivating story. Judging from his reaction, your aim was spot on, and Sirius muffled his laughter in your neck.
“Sirius, that tickles!” You attempted to squirm away from him, but his grip was too strong.
“Does it, love? How about this?” he asked, now pressing light kisses to your neck. You squealed, swatting him away with your book.
“You’re a prick,” you huffed, pretending to pout when you finally succeeded in putting some distance between you and your ‘attacker.’
Sirius gasped, placing a hand over his heart. “You don’t mean that, now, do you?”
You tried to maintain your composure, you really did. But he was gazing at you with the most adorable, yet pitiful puppy dog eyes, and so, you caved.
“No, I don’t. I love you.”
“I love you too, sweetheart,” he grinned, wrapping his arms around you again.
You then continued reading, his head resting on your shoulder as he followed along. You probably got a bit lost in the story, since before you knew it, the light from the window was dimming.
“You know,” Sirius mused, “I don’t know where I’m going quite yet, but I know I want you here with me.”
“Wait- what? Sirius, you don’t know what the future holds.”
“I know, but I mean it. When all my dreams come true, the one I want next to me - is you.”
Sniffling slightly, you turned to face him. “You are so much more romantic than you let on, you know. Shouldn’t you at least warn a girl before you go around being heart-meltingly sweet?”
“A bit late for that, isn’t it?” he hummed, hands running up and down your sides as his gray eyes gazed into yours.
You couldn’t resist anymore; you leaned down to kiss him. The moment your lips met, you were sucked back into this world that consisted only of him, the world you entered every time you kissed him. But what discerned this kiss from all others was the promise it held, the promise of a future, of a happy ending.
And it did; you live happily ever after.

Please Don’t Leave Me
Sirius Black x Reader Fluff
Words:1641
Warnings: Panic attacks, sad boy hours, two swear words
A/N: Got some Sirius comfort for you, also (Y/p) means “Your Patronus“
Tumblr media
After how long you and Sirius had been friends you’ve developed a special bond, you would stay up late and talk, he found it so easy to talk to you and be vulnerable with you. He loved that you wouldn’t push him, or bring it up the next day, you just helped him how and when he needed it.
And after your chats you’d go with him go up to the marauders dorm and kiss him on the forehead and say one last “You’re safe” and he’d be able to sleep. No matter what time it was you’d be there for him. And the next day he would go back to being his flirty, confident self.
One day he had gotten a really bad letter from Walburga (You refuse to call her ‘Sirius’s mother’ or ‘his mum’ she doesn't get that right after what she’s done to him)
It was just after the dinner feast and the ancient most noble house of assholes’s ‘Bitch bird’ had flown off after Sirius untied the letter from his so called family, ripping it open, he just looked at the page for a bit, only half reading it before getting up and running from the great hall with his hand over his mouth to stop himself from crying. Merlin, he hates crying.
The group watched him leave, you and James looked at each other as if telepathically talking about who should go after him. The two of you knew the most about his trauma. You ended up going after him.
You knew exactly where he would be, on the 2nd floor in a little secret room that you and Sirius have practically claimed as yours. The marauders had found it while making the map, Sirius started to go there when he was overwhelmed with feelings, one day you had found him there, and you just sat together, and for the first time, he was ok with crying. That was the day he started to open up to you.
***
“Siri?” walking in you saw him in the back corner. His head was buried in his knees, holding his hair so tight it would definitely be pulling some out and he was crying, the kind of crying where you feel like your suffocating, where you swear you’ll become dehydrated from all the tears, where no matter how much time passes that day your eyes will still be red.
You sat crossed legged next to him, didn’t move to touch him or talk first, after doing this for how long you had, you’ve picked up on what helped him best.
The main being, let him move first. Not only did it give him a bit to collect his thoughts but it made him feel more in control in a safe space. Growing up in his household he had no control on anything in his life and he was told to never show emotion as it showed weakness, told to sit straight, keep your head down and do as you're told, or else. So giving him a chance to feel and think and register that it is ok to show emotion and that he does have control of things.
He slowly started to shuffle over to you. Taking his hands from his hair and holding yours in one, and wrapping the other around his knees, he was still curled into himself and crying but he could breath now. It was a start.
Ever so slowly he leant on your side, you just held his hand in both of yours. After around five minutes he had gone from sitting in the back corner to leaning on your side and holding your hand. A year ago, he would be sitting alone, crying and hating himself.
He fully curled into your side, his other hand going looping around your arm and basically hugging it and he buried his head into your chest. Kissing his forehead you slowly move one hand from his and into his hair, running your fingers through it, making him melt into you.
The two of you sat there for a while, just holding him and humming to yourself, he always liked the small vibration it made in your chest.
You both just sat there calmly, blocking out the world, you had no clue how much time had passed. In this room, you were in your own world. There were no obligations to be anything other than yourself, you didn’t have to worry about school work or ‘family’ or anything, you could just exist.
You’ve even brought pillows and blankets to the room so you could sleep there overnight, when leaving the room was too much for him.
Peter had asked why you guys didn’t just go to the room of requirements. The room of requirements isn’t just for you and Sirius, everyone could get into it, only you and the marauders knew about this room. It was hidden behind a statue in the back of a corner of a dead end hallway no one else really went to. Other than to snog for ten minutes before class.
Taking your hand from his hair, you grab your wand and look up to the roof for a moment before looking back at Sirius and smiling softly.
“Expecto Patronum”
A thin wisp of silver poured from your wand and hovered like mist before you before moving off around the room transforming into a (Y/p) and continuing to play around the room.
“Wha’d you think of?” Sirius mumbled watching the wispy animal dance around the room, since he mumbled it into your shoulder it sounded a bit more like ‘whadyoinkoff’ but you got the jist of it.
“When I met you” Putting your wand back in your robes, you rake your fingers through his hair again.
Sirius lightly scoffed “Don’t lie, surely that’s not one of your most happy memories that you can cast a corporeal patronus. We met because me and the boys pranked you and got you sent to the hospital”
“Trust me, I remember, and adore that day”
“Why?”
“Well, for start I met you four, and for the two days I was in the hospital wing, a certain boy with majestic hair, perfect grey eyes, and bad jokes” you tilt your head slightly so you could see his face a bit better
“Hey! My jokes are amazing and you love them” he scrunched his nose up with a tiny smile
“Yeah, yeah, anyway this amazing person sat with me until Poppy would kick him out, cause he felt bad”
“I like that memory too” he sighs, your patronus had vanished at that point, as you had stopped focusing on it, but it had done its job, it made him feel better. It always made him feel better. Which is why you were able to cast it.
Sirius had calmed way down to the point he was a puddle on your side. “You’re all melty” you smile resting your head on his and he hummed in agreement and a small head nod.
You stayed like this for a little longer but your arm started to fall asleep “Siri, I love you, but my arm is ‘bout to fall off. So why don’t we take these obnoxious capes off and cuddle with the blankets and pillows?”
He nodded again moving off you (rather reluctantly) before giving you a little smirk “Sounds like you just want me to take my clothes off”
With a sigh, a smile, and a shake off your head you throw your cape to the other wall “Sirius, I will leave” You joke, before quickly realizing now was not the time for that kind of joke, you had just got a bit distracted as he was joking as he does when he’s feeling alright, before you can ‘fix’ what you said he grabbed your wrist a stressed look on his face.
“Please don’t leave me”
“’s ok love, I’m not going anywhere” you give him a soft smile, moving over to the pile of blankets and pillows in the corner, grabbing some and making a nest like bed pulling one of the softest blankets up.
“Come here” you open your arm and pull the blanket back and he basically leaps next to you and attaches to your side like a koala.
You give a soft chuckle, shifting so you're comfortable, Sirius basically engulfs you, tangling his legs with yours, his head resting on your chest so he can hear your gentle heartbeat, while you wrap your arms around him holding him close, making him feel safe. Keeping him safe.
“You're not gonna leave, right?” he mumbles, eyes drooping  “I’m not going anywhere”
“You’ll keep me safe?” he yawns “I’ll always keep you safe”
“And you love me?” “I love you so much” “I love you too”
“Sleep now Siri, I’ll be here, keeping you safe, and I do so cause I love you” He slowly nods falling asleep in your arms.
You were finally about to doze off yourself when there was a soft knock and the door cracked open, James’s head popping around it “He ok?” he whispered  “He’s ok now, if you wake him up, I will hex you into the next millennium” you whisper back
James just nodded and slowly closed the door, he knew how much you loved his brother and didn’t want to disturb that. He left smiling with the picture of a calm, sleeping Sirius, with a small smile on his lips.
Bonus:
“Who 's that?” Sirius grumbled going to move, but you gently moved his head back to where it was. “Was just James” “Should I say bye to im’ tomorrow? For wakin’ me up?” “Yes,” you smile “now shh, go back to sleep, I’ve got you”
He just nodded and fell back asleep as you did shortly after.

Part 2 of this, since basically everyone asked. Sorry if it’s cringe. I wrote it while being happy, so maybe it’s cheesy. Anyway, enjoy! and let me hear you comments and opinions, pleaaasee.
*************
Sirius, surprised with all his friends, not bringing his eyes up to meet Remus’. He could feel the other boy’s stare, piercing through him. He knew there is no turning back; he said it. He knew he had to follow through. He gathered the rest of his strength and spoke, still looking at the floor, “Ahh fuck this, I like you Remus..  a lot. And I don’t know, It's okay if you don't. I’m sorry this happened; I didn’t mean to say it.” He started rambling. He knew he was freaking out because maybe Remus didn’t feel the same; he’s made a fool of himself.
He lifted his eyes to search for a reaction and was taken aback by Remus, legit crawling again to his direction. He couldn’t take his eyes off of him. “Remus?” He said when Remus finally settled beside him, incredibly close.
“Yeah, I know,” Remus said, smiling.
“Excuse me? You know? You know what?” Sirius was full-on panicking. What does Remus mean? All this time he knew, and he let him just pine like an idiot. Is he serious? Are they too drunk to be even talking? He tried to stand up; he wanted to leave. He had his heartbeat going crazy. He started to wonder if it’s a prank and everyone is in on it. He’s just the butt of the joke. That’s why everyone left. He moved to get up and was grabbed by Remus, “I know you liked me, Pads,” he said, hands wrapped around his wrists. Sirius couldn’t function, “Close your mouth; you’ve been obvious since summer,” Remus kept being ambiguous, not letting the raven-haired boy out of his misery like he was enjoying it.
“What? I? Remus, is this a joke? You're playing me?! Let go!” Sirius breathed out; he desperately wanted to get away from Remus’ clutch. “Merlin, she was right,” he heard Remus whisper to himself, looking at their hands. He then looked up; and grabbed his face with both hands, “You really are an idiot to be watching me that much and not realize that I like you back, Padfoot,” Remus fell quiet, looking at Sirius’ eyes. “I just wanted to see how long it would take.”
Sirius’ eyebrows furrowed in confusion, “What are you talking about?” He said, calmer than before, yet heart racing a million miles an hour. It dawned on him that Remus just said he liked him too. So it’s all real; he wasn’t imagining it anymore. He kept denying himself for so long, afraid to speak up, but it’s all real now. He’s right in front of him.
Remus giggled drunkenly; “For you to break, love. It wasn't my idea; it was Lils’; she told me to wait it out.” So they have been going on behind my back Sirius thought. “Does everyone know?” he asked a question he obviously knew the answer to. He felt like a complete idiot; how was he so dense? Remus nodded, smiling. “God, that damned redhead,” Sirius said, taking Remus’ hands off his face to hold on to them.
“She’s marvelous. And I've got what I wanted. I liked your pretty confession.”
“Wait, You actually like me?” Sirius said, smiling now. Remus nodded, quite frantically. “Since… Since when?” Sirius couldn’t help but ask. Remus inched closer and closer, so their foreheads were touching, “Since I realized I was gay. Being stuck in the same room as you nine months a year for six years did some damage to my poor heart.” Remus spoke slowly, cooingly, lips threatening to touch with every word.
“Moony, can I kiss you?” He asked, eyes darting to Remus’ lips. “Yes please,” Remus didn’t get to finish his answer as Sirius’ lips were pressed to his. They kissed for the first time. Remus' hands moved into Sirius’ hair, for he started to get onto his lap, straddling him. Sirius deepened the kiss and wrapped his arms around Remus, holding him close. They didn’t know how long that kiss lasted, but they pulled away breathless and in a state of bliss, both boys smiling from cheek to cheek. “Merlin, this is better than all my dreams,” Remus spoke first. He pulled away just enough to look into Sirius’ eyes. “Reality is always better, Moons,” Sirius said pressing another soft kiss to the other boy’s lips. He pulled away and Remus grabbed him again pressing a rather not so soft kiss this time, it was short but as good as all the ones before it. “Just checking,” Remus said against his lips.
"So, you were playing me.. those past months..."  Sirius started, narrowing his eyes. Remus snickered in his arms, "I'd rather say, encouraging you. Cause at your rate, we'd be 30 before you say anything." He spoke openly; drunk Remus can be very confident and bold. "All the things you were doing.. encouragement?" Sirius questioned; he admired how free Remus seems to be. "Yup," Remus said, popping the P.
Sirius found himself tackling Remus to the floor, "Oh you little..." He started tickling him, ruthlessly.
"Oh god, oh my god, stop. Sirius, shit. Please." Remus uttered between laughs. Sirius halts after many pleas from the werewolf under him. he stopped his assault to find himself on top of Remus, faces so close and chests pressing against each other, both of them gasping hard for breath.
Sirius fought the urge to kiss Remus senseless at that moment and moved away from him to the side.
"We'll do this right. Stand up, Remus." He said sitting up and pushing Remus off the floor. He needed to make the moment memorable. "What? Why?" Remus questioned him, confused.
"Just do it, please." Sirius pleaded. Remus complied, still puzzled, as he rose to his feet, Sirius positioned himself on one knee in front of him. "Sirius, what are you doing?" Remus asked beet red as Sirius took in his hands.
Sirius smiled softly and looked up to meet the hazel eyes, "Remus John Lupin, would you honor my miserable soul and become my cute, hot, and loving boyfriend?"
"Yes, Sirius," Remus, who couldn't have gotten anymore redder, croaked out the response. At the notion, Sirius stood up and pulled his now-boyfriend into a bone-crushing hug.
"This is not real," Sirius said, burying his fingers into Remus' curls. He felt Remus smile against his collarbone, "Yes, it is. It's as real as it gets now. Believe me, I've known dreams." He spoke.
"I've actually got you?" Sirius asked again, still in disbelieve.
"You've always had; you've just been too dense to realize." Sirius laughed and kissed the top of the other boy's head.

You had been best friends with Harry for as long as you could remember. You two were only less than a month apart, but Harry never failed to remind you he was *technically* older. Your dads, Sirius and Remus, had stayed friends with James and Lily Potter following graduation from Hogwarts and after the war had ended, the two couples raised their kids side by side. You and Harry had learned how to play Quidditch together, got into trouble together, and had so many sleepovers, it’s almost like you were siblings. You both received your Hogwarts letter together, went wand shopping together, and as you began your journey on Platform 9¾, you weren’t so frightened knowing you had your best friend next to you. On the train, you met Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger, and you knew in that moment, you and Harry had met two more to join the friendship. You watched as Hermione got sorted in Gryffindor, and you smiled briefly at your Dad as you sat on the stool, ready for the hat to tell you that you’d be following your dad’s legacy into the house of bravery. So when the Sorting Hat announced you as a Hufflepuff, the shock on both Harry’s face along with your Dad’s was evident. The house clad in yellow cheered for you as you took a seat at their table. You watched with disappointment as both Harry and Ron got sorted into Gryffindor. However, your fears of being left behind were forgotten, when the trio joined you for breakfast the following morning. When you asked why Harry would rather sit with you than his new housemates, he simply shrugged and said “I like you better anyways”.
And so it was. You and Harry went through life at Hogwarts together, different houses and all. You were still there to cheer each other on for every Quidditch match, even when you were both playing against each other. You went to Hogsmeade with each other, and spent every Christmas together, even as your celebrations grew larger to include the Longbottom, Weasley, and Granger family. As you went into your fourth year, however, you began to realize that you looks at Harry lingered a little longer, you got butterflies every time he smiled at you, and you always longed to be near him. You thought you had been good at hiding your feelings, but all it took was the Portkey trip to the Quidditch World Cup before Cedric Diggory, captain of your Quidditch team, was on to you. Hermione and Ginny weren’t that far behind him either. But you knew that Harry had a thing for Cho Chang, and even if he didn’t, you had grown up together. All he would ever see you as was just a friend, just a sister. As the Yule Ball neared closer, you were left without a date, secretly holding out hope Harry would ask you. But, alas, he didn’t, and you were stuck going dateless. As the night progressed, you busied yourself dancing with your Hufflepuff friends, ignoring the group of Gryffindors. Eventually though, you pulled yourself away from your friends to grab a drink. As you made your way over to the refreshments, you were met by Harry. You smiled at him, noting how handsome he looked in his dress robes. “You look gorgeous (Y/N).” He said, taking your hand.
You tried to swallow your butterflies as you choked out a “Thanks. You look good too.” He let go of your hand and you tried to be disappointed at the sudden lack of warmth. “Where’s your date?” You asked, looking around the Great Hall for her. He shrugged.
“No clue. Yours?”
You sighed and turned back to the refreshments. “Didn’t get asked. It’s okay though. I’m having a lot of fun with my friends.”
“Well, uhm, in that case, could I possibly.. steal you for a dance?” Your eyes widened as you realized what he was asking. You nodded, not trying to seem too eager. Cedric gave you a thumbs up from across the room, and you rolled your eyes. Harry led you out on to the dance floor, and as you danced, you became surprised at how good he was at dancing. As the dance came to an end, you didn’t want to let go. Just as you were about to open your mouth to thank him for the dance, he blurted out “Ron dared me to ask you to dance.” You pulled away, shock seeping through your system.
“W-what?”
“Ron dared me to ask you to dance. He seems to think... and... we’re just- just friends.” He said, and you had to blink back tears.
“Right. Just friends.” You said thickly. “Uhm, thanks for the dance. I’m going to call it a night, I think.” You said, turning away from the boy, trying so hard to hide how hurt you were. It was only once you were safely back in your Common Room, that you let the tears fall free.
-
The next few months passed by in a blur, with the Tournament and Cedric’s win. You and Harry were still friends following the dance, and you both seemed to silently agree to never speak of what had happened that night. But as time continued, you could feel the strain on your friendship. You had fallen in love with your best friend without even realizing it. So, when you began your 5th year, you spoke to Hermione quietly in an abandoned hallway one night on Prefect rounds. “I don’t think Harry and I can be friends anymore.” You said softly. You had been having this thought all summer, because every time you looked at Harry, your heart clenched in pain, and you knew it was all your fault, because you had been stupid enough to fall in love with your best friend. But really, who could blame you? When you looked at him, it was like nothing else mattered. Hermione looked at you curiously. But this was the first time you had spoken those words out loud, and they hurt.
“He’s your best friend.”
“Yes, and I went and fell in love with him. ‘Mione, every time I look at him, all I see is what can’t be, because all he will ever see me as is a friend, as his sister. And I can’t- I can’t keep hurting like this.” Hermione stayed silent for a few moments, clearly thinking over her response.
“Have you considered telling him?” She asked softly.
“It would ruin everything.” You said flatly.
“If this what you think will be best for you, then I support that. Ron and I will miss having you around though.”
“You know this doesn’t mean we can’t be friends anymore, right?”
“I know, but if you aren’t friends with Harry anymore, then.. we’ll just see a lot less of you, that’s all.” You took her words in, thinking about how you were going to miss all the late night chess games with Ron, the studying sessions with Hermione, the pranks with the twins, the trips to Hogsmeade with Dean and Seamus, and the time spent in the greenhouse with Neville. The rest of your rounds were quiet, as you knew tomorrow would change everything.
-
And slowly, things did change. You distanced yourself from the group of Gryffindors, focusing on your team (you had been chosen to replace Cedric as Captain; a success you had celebrated with Harry) and your Prefect duties, along with your studies. And suddenly, you and Harry didn’t talk anymore. When you went home for Christmas, your Dad’s were surprised at how... little you spoke to each other. Remus had been noticing how you began to spend less and less time with Harry and friends over the term but didn’t know what to do or say. On your last night home, you sat in the living room staring into the fire as Remus read a book and Sirius set up a game of Wizarding Chess. “Dad?” You asked softly. Sirius hummed in response, acknowledging your question.  “How did you know when you found the one?”
He looked up at you. “When I looked at your Dad, it was like nothing else mattered. I knew he would see me through everything, good and bad, life or death, and I knew I’d do the same for him. There was a war raging outside our walls, but even for just a few moments, all that mattered that he was okay, and that he was there with me.” You nodded a few more minutes of silence passed. “Why are you asking kiddo?”
“I was stupid and went and fell in love with my best friend.” Well, might as well admit it to them. “And every time I look at him, all I see is what I can’t have, and everyone always tells me to just tell him, because he probably feels the same, but I’m such a coward-”.
“Hey, you aren’t a coward. You are one of the bravest people I know, and I’m not just saying that cause you’re my kid.” Sirius said sharply.
“It takes a lot of courage to be kind, and you’re the kindest person I’ve met.” Remus added softly. “But of course you are, because I raised you.” You laughed a little, a small smile reaching your face.
“I can be kind and brave and a million other things, and it doesn’t change the fact that he still sees me as his sister.”
“Maybe, maybe not. But you’ll never know if you aren’t honest with him.” Sirius said.
“If I’m honest with him, I could lose him forever.”
“You already are.” Remus said. “(Y/N), I used to have all these thoughts about your Dad. About how I would never be good enough for him, how he’d never want me, how we’d be better off not being friends at all. And I almost lost him forever because of it.” You looked up at him. “(Y/N), if we’re speaking about who I think we’re speaking of, he’s a good kid, and even a better friend. He won’t look at you different for being honest with him, especially for a feeling I believe he reciprocates. But you’re gonna lose him forever, if you keep telling yourself it’s best if you stay away.”
-
Your Dad’s words echoed in your head on the train ride back to school. As you sat in the Prefect compartment with Ron and Hermione, all you could think about was those words. As the compartment emptied as people took turns doing rounds, it left you with Ron and Hermione, and your fellow Hufflepuff Prefect, Ernie, who had long known about your crush on Harry. “I think I’m gonna tell him.” The compartment fell quiet all attention directed at you. You shifted uncomfortably under their shocked gazes. “Unless, you don’t think I should.”
“Finally!” Hermione exclaimed.
“Mione!″ You exclaimed and she laughed.
“Well, it took you long enough.” Ron said. You stared at them dumbfounded and turned to look at Ernie.
“Remember to invite me to the wedding when you become Mrs. Potter.” Ernie said, joining in the laughter.
“You sure put a lot of faith in the fact that he’s going to feel the same way.”
“If Harry doesn’t feel the same way, then I will personally make sure you get an A on your next Ancient Runes essay.”
“I’m gonna hold you to that Granger.” You said , as laughter broke out through the compartment. Damn, did you hope they were right.
-
You had wanted to speak to Harry tonight, because if you didn’t soon, you felt as though you may throw up. However, he had disappeared after the meal and you trudged solemnly back to your Common Room after a failed attempt to find him in his Common Room. Suddenly, you were being yanked into an abandoned classroom, and you were pretty sure this was how you’d die. You let out a sigh of relief after realizing it was just Harry. Just Harry. A million thoughts and emotions flooded your body that you thought you would be sick. Harry, however, clearly had something he wanted to discuss. “Why haven’t you been speaking to me?” He asked, clearly upset.
“I- I don’t-”
“Don’t lie to me. You’ve been avoiding me ever since we started school this year. What happened? Is- is it something I did?” The decision to tell him suddenly seemed to fly out the window and you found yourself lying through your teeth.
“I’ve just been busy Harry.” He sighed in frustration.
“You know, if you didn’t want to be friends with me anymore, you could’ve at least been honest with me.” You sighed and begin to walk towards the door. “We went from being best friends and now you can’t even look me in the eye. Some friend you are.” He called after you. You felt yourself tear up, and you turned back towards him.
“You’re damn right I can’t look you in the eye anymore. Because when I look at you, all I see is everything I know I can’t have, everything that I know you’ll never feel.”
“What are you talking about?”
“You don’t get it, do you? I love you, more than just as a friend. I’m in love with you and you have no idea how hard it is to be in love with someone you’ll only ever be just friends with.” Harry just looked at you and so you kept talking because if the silence continued, you thought you’d cry harder. “So I distanced myself from you, because I thought it would make things hurt less, but this hurts more, because I miss you and I’m sorry it took me this long to tell you but I was so scared that you wouldn’t feel the same way, which clearly you don’t-”
“Hey, hey, hey, who said I didn’t feel the same way?” Now it was your turn to be stunned into silence. “Remember the Yule Ball? Ron dared me to dance with you because he thought that if I did, I’d admit how I felt. I’ve felt the same way for a long time. I just didn’t want to lose you.”
“I didn’t want to lose you either.” you said softly. He chuckled.
“What a mess we’ve gotten ourselves into, it seems.” You both stood close together, Harry’s hand on your cheek, wiping away the last of your tears with his thumb. His other hand was on your waist. “Can I kiss you?” You nodded, connecting your lips to his. The kiss was better than you ever thought it would feel, as all those butterflies tripled and it seemed as though everything seemed to stop for those few moments. Harry pulled away after a few moments, careful not to push it. “I’d like to do that a lot more, if you’ll let me.” His forehead rested against yours as he rubbed small circles onto your waist.
“I’d love to let you do that some more.” You said softly, gazing into his eyes. “I love you.” Something flickered across Harry’s face that you couldn’t quite place.
“I love you too.” He said, softly, a smile gracing his features. You hugged him tightly, thankful to have your best friend back, but this time, as the person you loved.

@im-oknutzy-trash Here ya go
@lumosinlove thank you for this gift that is sweater weather
There are reasons I don’t write fluff, this was the alternate “if you die I’ll kill you,” one
I also do not know where this idea even originated from, it’s been in my drafts forever but I was hesitant to post?
___________________________________________________________
“Sirius don’t you dare,” Remus said. They stood in the locker room, alone as everyone else had gone to go shower.
“Aw, come on Re,” Sirius whined. Remus was finding it hard to keep a straight face.
“No.”
“Mon Loup, I’m their captain, they can’t do anything to me.” Sirius laughed, the corner of his eyes crinkling with how big his smile was growing.
“Baby, you’re trying to put shaving cream, or whatever it was, in Kasey’s gloves. You have to have taken one too many hits to the head to think he wouldn’t kill you on the spot.” Remus as having a very difficult time keeping his poker face up, getting ready to crack at any moment with how stupid this prank was.
“Okay first off, it wasn’t shaving cream, it was slime—”
“Wait, how the hell did you get your hands on slime Sirius? Where would you even get it, because I know for a fact that you didn’t make it.”
“Adele gave it to me, not important.” He waved his hand as if to push the topic away, “Anyways, I wasn’t going to put it in his gloves. Just close enough next to it, to make him freak out.” Sirius stated as if it was the smartest thing in the world.
Remus sputtered, looking up at Sirius like he was insane, which he was. If there was one thing to know about Kasey, it was to not touch his gear, especially not his gloves.
“He’s going to kill you,” Remus smiled, he couldn’t help it.
“No he’s not, and if he tries, you’ll protect me” Sirius smirked. Remus held his hands up in mock surrender.
“Hey, I’m not getting involved here. You apparently have a death wish, plus this is by far the stupidest prank idea you and James have come up with. And that’s saying something.”
Sirius put a hand over his heart as if offended. He was trying hard not to laugh, he was failing miserably at it too.
“We do not have bad prank ideas!” A voice said from behind them, making both Remus and Sirius jump.
James walked up with a lopsided grin, his hair still wet from the shower, and wrapped in only a towel.
“If you die, I’m gonna kill you. Both of you.” Sirius laughed, his eyes dancing in the light as he looked at Remus.
“Oh really,” he tempted. Remus looked ready to break out into laughter as well, barely managing to contain himself.
“I’m not kidding. If you die, I will personally bring you back to the land of the living to kill you again.” This time Remus did laugh, the three of them breaking out into laughter that echoed in the otherwise vacant locker room.
Remus hit Sirius’ chest lightly, “I’m serious you know,—”
“No you’re not, I am.” Sirius cut him off, his smirk growing on his face.
“You brat,” Remus rolled his eyes playfully.
“Yes I am, and you love me for it.” Sirius laughed back. Their easy banter that had come so normal now. It felt weird, that there was a time when it didn’t. When it was merely a player and a staff member, not friends, definitely not lovers.
James cleared his throat, reminding him that he was still there. Sirius rolled his eyes, pushing him lightly towards his stall. James laughed quietly going to change into his clothes instead of standing there, clad in only a towel.
Remus smiles sadly at the memory of when Sirius had finally broken out of his shell. When he realized he had a family here on the team, that he could have a family and that they’d love him and be brothers, or fathers. That he was safe.
It was bittersweet, that he was welcomed in with open arms and goofy grins, but at the same time, it was the first time getting to experience that. A real family. It was the first time he had actually gotten to feel the love of a father when he met Dumo. Having someone who didn’t overwork him, who didn’t pressure him.
When he had finally talked with Remus, he had someone who would listen to him. He could talk to him, ask him for advice. He had someone to pick him up when he fell, to put him back together when he broke. He had met someone who he could let his guard down around.
When he was with James and Logan, he had brothers. Other than Regulus of course. He had people there for him who was a team, someone proud to be his brother, someone he wasn’t set up against, or competing against.
His team, this amazing team, they allowed him to breathe. He managed to get his head above the water that held him down, breaking through to the surface. And that first breath, the first taste he had gotten, well it was magical.
He was free. Free from his parents, free from the constant weight he held. The dread that held him back from showing his true self. He was free.
He loved who he wanted, he acted how he wanted, played the way he wanted. And he wasn’t afraid of going home every day, of being abused. The fresh air filled his lungs, and he smiled. He was carefree, he took risks. He was able to live.
“Mon Loup.”
Remus snapped his head up, being pulled from his thoughts. He saw Sirius’ face in front of his. That soft smile playing at his lips, his knuckles running over Remus’ cheek.
“What are you thinking about?” He whispered.
Remus smiled up at him, loving the way that the lights casted shadows over his face, how his stormy eyes seemed so much lighter and happier then they had.
“You,” Remus said. Before Sirius could say anything, he leaned up and kissed him, loving that he could do that now. That Sirius was his and he was allowed to kiss him, and hug him, and hold him. Especially that now he was allowed to love him.
“Hey, Lovebirds!”
Remus groaned, stepping back and leaning against the wall. Of course, Potter had to ruin the moment. Sirius chuckled at his dismay, leaning in to give him a quick kiss before turning around and heading back to the showers.

All in the Family
Chapter 151: Birthday Surprises
It was like finding themselves in a furnace, nearly everything in here seemed to be a violent shade of orange: the bedspread, the walls, even the ceiling. Then Lily realized that nearly every inch of the shabby space was covered with posters of the same seven witches and wizards, all wearing bright orange robes, carrying broomsticks, and waving energetically.
"The Chudley Cannons," Potter shouted in delight. "Wasn't this Ron's favorite team?"
"We are back at the Burrow already," his best mate affirmed as he glanced out the window to the garden, a bright morning sun shining down on them all.
“Merlin what a waste of a detour,” Peter grumbled. “Could have just left us here couldn’t it!” He was scowling at the ceiling as if demanding of the powers that be why they’d been pitched around as if that had ever helped anything.
Regulus pulled himself off the orange bedspread, which was emblazoned with two giant black C's and a speeding cannonball. "Hope this means he and Hermione finally make up."
Alice had found herself slipping over a pile of comics that all seemed to feature The Adventures of Martin Miggs, the Mad Muggle right into Lupin's lap, and Frank found himself nearly falling down the stairs he tried to open the door so fast to get some space, the place was definitely not big enough for the eight of them to continue lounging in here for any comfort.
Lily nabbed the book before she followed him out, the bright silver spine standing out easily in here as they got some leg room. She hesitated uneasily in the doorway though when she saw Lupin was clearly going to stay behind, scrunching himself up uncomfortably in the window, his maroon sweater seemed to fit him as bad as the other two now, like he'd lost weight or something even worse since he put it on. How close to a full moon was it? He looked so ill at ease and she wished she could offer him some kind of comfort like his mates had done for her, but she still wasn't sure enough of herself to be pulling a stunt like that. Potter and Black were staying behind though, sitting under the sill and keeping him company but not demanding his involvement, and she watched just a bit of the tension ease out of him as he smiled down at the pair.
They were all still too full from their feast of a breakfast to really rummage for food, but Alice and Frank began prepping sandwiches for the road anyways while Lily sat on the window down here next to Erroll who had a partial tied to his leg addressed to Ron. He'd fallen asleep without even taking off yet, and she smiled and stroked the bird's gray feathers for a few moments before starting on Birthday Surprises.
"Lad's finally turning of age, wonder if it'll add any maturity to him," Peter said softly as he stretched before sitting at the table.
"Sirius'll be a hundred and still send everyone dungbombs for their birthday," Regulus stated. All five of them got a good laugh out of that, which echoed up the stairs as Lily began.
"Glad to hear they're all enjoying themselves," James said with a grin at the still open door.
"Who doesn't love a good birthday bash, it's supposed to be full of the best kind of surprises!" Sirius enthusiastically agreed.
"Doesn't make it a national holiday no matter how many petitions you sign Padfoot," Remus muttered, still looking out the window, but they could hear the smile in his voice.
James and Sirius beamed to have gotten a normal response out of him and continued in the same way, Remus' biting sarcasm still occasionally but quietly interjecting just for them. They all looked down in pity when the words stuttered uncomfortably over Harry's potions class mentioning poisons and bezoars, but she rallied herself remarkably fast, none of them were surprised. Her voice remained steady and level, she'd always been a stubborn one and that streak was as much a help as it was a hindrance when faced with a memory like that.
Remus was starting to put little tears in the creases of the paper he kept bunching it up so much in his pocket and forced his hand to stop. His action felt like an acceptance of his fate, it was almost easier to at least know an outcome he’d picked for himself now and he’d still have them in the meantime, that was abundantly clear as he watched his idiots fondly just like always.
Moony finally took his hand out of his pocket and even really started to relax when the cauldron cakes were mentioned and smacked his lips appreciatively at just the thought, letting one leg dangle down now. Sirius shifted unconsciously and leaned against him, waving his hands energetically as he told of that being something he'd learn to cook in any way possible.
Prongs didn't seem to think it so funny anymore when they were all bluntly reminded of the love potion Romilda Vane had slipped in there and the awkward silence hung for a few moments before Remus quietly spoke, "I still owe you payback for that, don't think I've forgotten," while giving Sirius a friendly nudge with his shoe.
"I'll double team with you," James raised his hand and beamed as Remus high-fived.
Sirius looked legitimately concerned at these two pranking him with no clear way to get out of it in these conditions, but all three were distracted by Harry, Ron, and Slughorn winding up in the same office, and a very particular bottle getting mentioned- "Oh shit!"
All three bounded to their feet and all but fell on each other as they went down the stairs in concern. They made it down in time to see Lily trying to keep up a brave face not to give up the book, but failing at it and finally giving up to turn into Alice's shoulder as Harry began describing in detail what happened to Ron.
Nobody wanted to even look at the book. If Ron died from that like Lily had come so close to doing...
Peter snatched up the book with another apology, but he didn't need to be good at magic to read a book! He could still help in this way to find an answer, it was better than just hanging in suspension wondering.
Harry, remarkably, did what even their Potions teacher had not. James fell against the wall in shock and pride for his son even as the rest of the guilt tried to ease away as he replayed it all in his head again, even the bloody teacher couldn't always react in time...
Lily breathed again when Ron did, but Alice kept rubbing her back and she didn't even think to pull away as her trembling slowed.

Carried away. Fred Weasley imagine.
Journey Elizabeth Avery,  was part of one of the Sacred twenty eight families that had the awful traditional thinking about blood purity. Most of her family members were Slytherins and some even became Death Eaters; following you know who. However,  Journey never believed in the blood purity or hated muggles, muggleborn and halfblood. In fact, she believed in moving on from the past and make amends with them to make a brighter future. Therefore, her family members disliked, dishonored and kicked her out of their house when she was twelve years old.
At Hogwarts she got sorted into Ravenclaw and made friends with the same ideals that she had. Although she was a Ravenclaw, Journey befriended people from the other houses; including Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger from Gryffindor. During the first two years of studies at Hogwarts she constantly got pranked and annoyed by the Weasley twins.However, at the end of her second year, he asked her out  and they began dating. They clicked when she learned that his family was pureblood but that didn’t controlled or blinded their hearts and actions.
Throughout their relationship, she would help the twins come up with clever ideas for pranks and even artifacts that they could create in order to execute them. Fred and Journey would have dates every Saturday and sometimes they would use the secret passages to go on dates during days in which they were not allowed to go out. Surprisingly, they never got caught and Journey like the feeling of being rushed and do things out of impulse; living in the moment. Sometimes Journey would analyze what could happen if they were caught and Fred would somehow convince her to do it anyway.
There was a moment in which they broke up do to the fact that Journey risked her life in her third year without Fred knowing. That took place during the time that Buckbeak was going to be murdered because of the coward Draco Malfoy and his father. Journey had decided to be with the trio during that night; after the murder took place, Ron was taken by a giant dog. All in all, it was discovered that it was Sirius Black and that he was innocent; they one that betrayed his parents was Peter Pettigrew. Lets just say that there was some craziness going that night that really put the golden trio, Journey and Sirius’ lives in danger.
Actually, Journey got hurt badly at some point and then woke up in the hospital wing realizing that Fred was next to her. She told him what had happened and they started arguing about the fact that she didn’t tell him; saying that it was reckless of her to do. During that argument they said hurtful things to one another and eventually both took the decision to break up. That was really hard on both of them since they practically lived under the same roof in both Hogwarts and the burrow. Yes, Molly Weasley heard about what happened to the young girl and took her in deciding to be the family that Journey deserved.
When it came for the reconciliation, well, it took quite a long time for they were both very stubborn. Fred had started “dating” Angelina Johnson, a Gryffindor girl that was in the quidditch team. He would give a show with Angelina when Journey was around which made her hurt but was good at hiding it. This carried on until the yule ball came around, Fred had asked his current girlfriend to it and Journey was asked by one of the Durmstrang student. Oh, things took a turn when she played the same game that he had been playing for months.
At some point, the Durmstrang student that was dancing with Journey started making certain approaches that she wasn’t comfortable with. During a slow dance he began touching her in areas of her body that she would only allow Fred to touch. Although she kept taking his hands off of those areas, he would not stop making the advances. Journey began getting angry at him but before she could slap him, someone pulled her away and punched the man that was dancing with her. Subsequently, Fred started making out with Journey in front of all the people that were in there; kissing and biting her neck to leave a mark that said “She’s mine”.
Afterwards, they had to run off from Professor Snape who was set on catching them and probably take points from their houses. Thankfully, Fred knew many secret passages which helped in this particular situation. Later that night, well...Journey’s favorite Weasley twin made sure to show her that she only belongs to him. That is how she found out that the whole thing with Angelina was an act that they decided to do in order to get her jealous. Journey teased him saying “That didn’t turn out well for you, did it?” and he rolled his eyes knowing that ignoring him was an act of hers.
Things had gotten better with the couple as they were communicating better as time passed. When it came to studying and living at Hogwarts, well, it became a bloody hell with Umbridge around. Everything changed so drastically and everyone was bloody unhappy with all the rules she had given. Journey had become quite angry at the fact that they didn’t have a proper defense against the dark arts when Voldemort was back. Thankfully, Harry created Dumbledore’s army in order to practice and learn defensive spells that were going to be needed in the near future.
In order to celebrate the beginning of Dumbledore’s army, the group went to the three broomsticks in Hogsmeade. Hermione decided that it would be a fun idea to play certain muggle games and that was when it was decided to play seven minutes in heaven. Its this muggle game in which two people go to a closet or private area to do whatever they wanted in seven minutes. Fred started whispering in Journey’s ear things that he wanted to do to her during those seven minutes while he was touching some sensitive areas of her body; knowing it would turn her on. On the other hand, while Journey was trying to act normal so nobody would suspect anything, she was also teasing Fred by touching him as well.
Tumblr media
Once it was their turn Fred picked Journey up and took her to a secret room that not many knew of. Needless is to say that they made love and seven minutes were not enough for the young couple. Both of them got carried away as they were just focused on one another as they showed how much they love every single aspect of each other; forgetting to use protection as Molly always told them to do (always use protection). When both of them fell of the cliff at the same time making them scream each other’s names, Fred’s body fell on top of hers. He said as he chuckled “I think that seven minutes will never be enough for us love” after saying that he looked at her with love as she laughed at his comment.
_____________________________________________________________
Everything was going well for Dumbledore’s army and everybody was thankful to Harry as they were learning so many things from him. Three weeks after they had that celebration for the beginning of the group, they were all learning about the spell to fight dementors “Expecto Patronum”. When Journey was finally able to cast it, it turned out that her Patronus was an Abraxan Winged Horse; a rare patronus which she was amazed by. Ginny’s patronus was a horse and she joked saying “Seems like you and I have more in common than you and Freddie”  and then she asked what memory she used to conjure it.
Journey laughed at her comment and then said that the memory she chose was when Molly and Arthur took her in by giving her a family and a house that loved her. After the practice had finished they all went to eat in the Great Hall, the twins were talking about their patronus and the memories they used. Fred’s had being the moment in which he reconciled with Journey and he made sure she knew about it. She smiled at him and then he gave her a plate with her favorite foods. As she looked at it, she began to get nauseous by their smells little by little the nausea got worse then she stormed off and ran to the nearest bathroom; Fred was ran after her and helped her with her hair.
When Journey had finished “puking”, Fred asked her if she was okay and she she nodded saying that the smell was too intense for her to handle. Subsequently, Luna got out of one of the stalls and washed her hands then look at her housemate and friend with concern. “Are you sick again Jo?” she asked to which Journey just nodded and Luna said “Make sure you drink the tea I gave you. It will make you feel better but you should go to madam Pomfrey because you have been sick throughout the whole week”. After saying that she looked at Fred and said “You better get out of the girls bathroom before you get caught” and with that she left.
Tumblr media
Fred and Journey left the bathroom and went to a private area to talk about Jo’s sickness. As they were having this conversation Journey revealed that she had indeed being sick for a whole week. Then proceeded to tell him that she had not gotten her period and that it was late for two weeks. At that point, Fred’s face became pale as a ghost and she said “I think I am pregnant Freddie”. He looked at her while being frozen as he didn’t know what to do or say, however, when her eyes got watery he hugged her saying that everything was going to be okay.
During the next day, both of them went to the hospital week and explained the situation to Madam Pomfrey who gave them a judgemental look. Then she proceeding in verifying whether or not the fifteen year old was pregnant or not. As they were waiting for the results she said “Both of you should have been more careful. Do you know how hard it is to raise a child as an adult? imagine as teenagers. Also, now that Umbridge is around things will be hard for the two of you but...I will help you the best I can if you are indeed pregnant”.
The results were ready...
Journey Elizabeth Avery was indeed...pregnant.
Oh the journey they were about to encounter (Pun intended).

~Master List~
~Open Requests~
He kissed her. James kissed Lily.
You just wanted a quiet afternoon by the pond to study, grabbing your bag and spare parchments before making your way. You could’ve invited your friends, but you knew Sirius was probably shagging some girl, Remus hated studying with you because you would always mumble incoherent words, and you couldn’t stand Peter. So that just left James. You liked James. You really liked James. And you knew it would’ve been dangerous for you to be alone with him because you might’ve said something stupid and embarrassed yourself, but you also wanted to hang out with the brown-haired boy. Shaking your head and ignoring the butterflies in your stomach at inviting him, you continued your way to the pond for some alone time. But sadly, someone was already there, and they weren’t alone. You watched as the same boy who occupied your thoughts earlier was now snogging your last best friend, Lily Evans.
He kissed her. James kissed Lily.
Feeling your throat go dry and tears begin to cloud your sight, you quickly made your way back to the castle, avoiding the worried glances of the students and classmates you passed as you made your way up to your common room. You threw your bag onto your bed before shrugging off your robes, tears streaming down your face. It was stupid to be so upset over this, he was just a boy. A boy who caused your brain to go crazy when he smiled at you or threw his arm around your shoulder when you both were laughing at his latest prank on Serverus, but you couldn’t help how you felt. You knew you couldn’t just sit here and cry, someone could walk in and you would’ve been even more embarrassed than you are right now, pining over a boy you knew you could never have. Deciding you needed some air, you threw your robes back on, grab a few bottles of some fire-whiskey Sirius had saved you all, and made your way up to the Astronomy tower.
Your tears had stopped as you drowned a bottle of the liquid, loving the feeling of it cascading down your once dry throat. Throwing the bottle behind you and grabbing another, you hadn’t expected a hand to block yours, causing you to let out a whine as they pulled it away. Looking up, you caught sight of the long black-haired boy who had opened the bottle and took a few sips himself before joining you on the ground.
“What are doing here, love? What sorrows are currently drowning now?” he says, smirking as you grab the bottle back and swallow some more. You roll your eyes as you laid down, staring out in the sky before you.
“How did you find me Padfoot? And how much longer until you’ll leave?” you snap earning a chuckle from the now slightly drunk boy who opened yet another bottle, your last bottle.
“I used the map, Love. How else do you think I would’ve?” he joined you in your stares as a silence fell upon the two of you. You wanted him to leave, but you enjoy the company, of having someone next to you. You didn’t know what had happened but the next minute you could feel the warm gentle tears fall once more, painting your cheeks. When Sirius noticed this, he pulled you up and right into his arms, holding your head into his chest as he rubbed your back, telling you it’s going to be alright. When pulled apart you let out a chuckle at his now wet sweater. He wiped your cheeks as you took another swig of the drink.
“Thanks, Pads. I needed that.” You whisper, refusing to look up into his eyes. He gave you a small nod as he watched your fingers fumble with your robes. He felt bad, he didn’t know what had caused you to act like this, but he was worried. You were one of his best friends, practically a marauder yourself, and he didn’t like the fact that someone could’ve done this to you.
“Do you want to talk about it? I don’t know what happened, but it can’t be good.” You finally looked up at him, your (e/c) eyes shining in the moonlight. You just looked at him, your tears having slowed but not stopped. After a minute you decided that it would’ve been a great idea to let someone in, even if it was one of his and your best friends.
“I fancied James. I really fancied him. but I didn’t tell him. And I knew he fancied Lily, but I just never thought that they would, you know, do anything. But tonight, when I went to the pond I saw them. He kissed her. James kissed Lily. I knew that I wasn’t going to end up with him. He’s James freaking Potter for crying out loud! But I just… I don’t know… I thought I had a chance. I didn’t.” your gaze had shifted out to the sky, but Sirius’ had remained on you, fixated on the redness in your puffy eyes, and the wetness on your face. “It was stupid of me to think that. I’m just me. Stupid little me who refused to tell a guy she fancied him! I understand why they’re together, I mean, she’s beautiful. She’s smart, funny, knows how to make him laugh and smile. I’m not any of that.”
“Don’t say that Y/N. You’re more than that. You’re the one who’s funny, who’s always getting amazing grades, showing up even Remus, making all of us laugh, even me, and most importantly…” he starts before both of you finish off the last of the fire-whiskey in your bottles, he gently pulls your chin up so you face him, “… no matter what, you’re insanely beautiful, no matter what you think. You deserve to be happy, so don’t be sad over a git like him.” he whispers to you and at that moment you realized just how close you two were, noses just barely touching as your eyes meet. You could feel the alcohol in your system and smell it on both of your breaths, but you didn’t care. Your eyes had flickered down to his lips then back up to his eyes, catching the few seconds of his eyes on your lips. Your body seemed to act on impulse as you found both of your mouths meeting, eyes flickering closed as you shared an alcohol filled moment. You pull away, panting as your noses brush once again, your eyes had opened to see his, darkened with arousal looking at you. You pull him up, his figure towering over you. You got on your tippy toes, your mouth hovering over his ear, his hands grabbing your waist, your warm breath causing a shiver to go down his spine. His last words echoing in your head like a chant. ‘Don’t be sad over a git like him.’
“Make me feel something else.” You whispered before pulling away, grabbing his hand and both of you dashing towards the Gryffindor common room, to drunk to care about the people shouting at you both as you knocked them out of the way. Arriving at the common room, Sirius led you up to the boy’s room, somehow knowing all the boys were going to be gone until morning. He turned around, looking down at your huffing figure before pulling you in for another sloppy drunk kiss.
“Are you sure about this Y/N?” All it took was a slight nod of your head before he leaned down again and picked you up, your legs wrapping around his waist as he brought you both onto his bed. His lips moved from yours onto your neck, leaving a few opened mouthed kisses and bruises as you both throw off your clothes, eliciting a moan from your lips at the contact. Just like that, the thoughts of James left your mind, and the only thoughts now are of him. Sirius Black.
The next morning you didn’t wake up from the sun coming in through your curtains, or your roommates nudging you that you were going to be late for class. No, you woke up laying on top of Sirius, your head resting on his chest as it raised up and down, his arm on your back pulling you into his body as yours draped across his body, legs tangled underneath his sheets. But you also woke up to your 3 other best friends, freaking out at the sight of you and Sirius, obviously naked under the sheets, cuddling into each other.
“Sirius and Y/N?! How did we not know about this Moony! Pads! Pads, wake up!” you heard James voice boom while your headache starts screaming at you. You start stirring as Sirius does underneath you, pulling the blanket up to cover both your bodies.
“Prongs, keep it down and get out. It’s to early and I’m sure neither one of us wants to have this conversation with you.” Sirius says as he rubs his forehead. You roll off his body as you look at your friends, still to tired and hungover to deal with this. As each of the boys take glances between the two of you, you couldn’t help the blush that spread to your neck. You looked at Sirius who was already watching for your reaction. You gave him a small smile before turning back to the boys.
“All right boys. Close your eyes or turn around so I can change please.” You say with a confident smirk even though it was the exact opposite of what you were feeling. Each of the boys turned around on their own time, Remus being the gentlemen he was turned around as soon as you asked, Peter giving you a wink turned around soon after, but James just continued to stare between you and Sirius, brows furrowed at the sight of the two of you. he finally turned around when Sirius cleared his throat, causing you to chuckle and James gulped, turning around faster than you thought possible. When you turned to Sirius you couldn’t help but smile at his also smiling face, eyes closed. You quickly got up and threw on your clothes, not noticing when Sirius took a little peep when you bent over to pick up your pants, with only your underwear on. When you were done, you told the boys they could turn around before you gave them an awkward wave and left them there, watching as your retreating figure.
“You slept with Y/N?! Mate, how could you have been so stupid? She’s our best friend!” James practically screamed, his arms thrown about in emphasis. Sirius let out a loud huff at his reaction before lying back in his bed, staring at the spot you left. He turned back towards his friends grabbing a pair of underwear and slipping them on.
“Oh, that’s rich coming from you mate. We were drunk, she was upset over… some git, and things just happened, Prongs. Didn’t mean for it too.” Sirius couldn’t tell them the exact reason they did it, he couldn’t do that to you. James just laughed, running his hand through his hair before pacing back and forth in the room. Peter couldn’t stop laughing at the situation, but when both James and Sirius glared at him he scurried out of the room. James’ head was spinning, he had a crush on you and Lily, and yesterday he kissed Lily. But it wasn’t what he wanted. You were, and he now he knew that. And seeing you with Sirius, well he couldn’t tell you now, could he. Giving the black-haired boy one last glance, he walked out of the room, following Peter’s laughter into the common room. Leaving Remus and Sirius alone to talk.
“Pads. Y/N? I thought… I thought you were over her.” Remus said, causing Sirius to stop getting dress and stare at the floor. He knew what he was talking about. Remus knew all about Sirius’ feelings for you. The ones that he knew you didn’t reciprocate, and the conversation last night just convinced him even more. Sirius fancied you since your third year, since you ruined the prank that he had planned on Snape, causing yourself to get caught in the crossfire, and you unable to contain your laughter at the situation. That’s when he realized he liked you, in a more than friend kind of way. Remus figured it out soon after that and now, three years later, he’s decided to tell Sirius he knows.
“You know? How the bloody hell did you know?” Sirius whispered in shock walking closer to Remus, who only laughed at his expression.
“Padfoot, you’ve been in love with her since third year, it was so bloody obvious I couldn’t believe Y/N didn’t catch on.” Sirius’ expression never changed during this time. “So, this bloke who broke her heart, who was it?” Remus says as he plops down on his bed, opening a book before hearing Sirius groan.
“Prongs. It was Prongs.” Remus’ face drops. There was no way that Y/N liked James, he would’ve known. Right? Sirius shook his head at the truth. You didn’t like him, you liked Prongs, and you only slept with him because you were upset. He didn’t want to talk anymore, he tried to rub his headache away a little more before getting dressed and heading down to breakfast with Moony.
When he got to the dinning hall, his eyes immediately scanned for you, quickly finding you reading a book at the end of the table, a smile gracing your lips as you bit into an apple. You lifted your eyes when you felt someone’s stares, only to see Sirius staring at you from across the room. You couldn’t help the blush that spread from his gaze. You gave him a smile, your eyes refusing to break the eye contact formed. Sirius made his way over to you, Remus following suit. A few minutes after they sat down, James, Lily, and Peter had joined. Your shoulders tensed as you saw Lily and James together, but when you felt Sirius’ hand on your back you relaxed and looked at him, giving him a silent nod, but yet again you didn’t look away. Just continued to stare at him. Him. Sirius Black. When Remus cleared his throat you looked away, your cheeks redden when Remus raised his eyes at the two of you. Glaring at him, you returned your attention to your food, completely unaware of James’ casual glances in your direction. The only person you were aware of glancing at you was Sirius, and for some reason you didn’t mind, and for some other reason you returned them, smiling.
James was a boy, a boy who had caused your brain to go crazy when he smiled at you or threw his arm around your shoulder when you both were laughing at his latest prank on Serverus, and you couldn’t help how you felt. But Sirius. Sirius was a boy who made you feel special, feel loved, feel insanely beautiful, and you liked it. You liked him. you liked who you were with him. You wanted Sirius, not James. You didn’t love James, and you didn’t care because you were in love with Sirius, Sirius Black. James couldn’t help the feeling in his stomach as he watched you two. He knew you were going to be happy with Sirius. And he knew he didn’t have you because he kissed her. James kissed Lily.
Feedback is welcomed! Thanks everyone! ♥️

---
You and teddy, Hogwart’s newest couple, strolled around the grounds of Hogsmeade, both bundled in heavy winter jackets and boots that left little imprints in the snow. Several tiny snowflakes fell from the sky, dotting your hair, eyelashes and nose in white. A couple others were in the outside air; groups of friends fooling about, occasionally other couples strolling about like you and Teddy were. Mostly, though, it was just the sound of your voices that drifted in the winter air and echoed about the small town.
Currently, you and Teddy were just admiring the scenery, hands intertwined, not saying much. It was one of those peaceful moments two people - no matter how loud or eccentric - can have, in a pure moment of calm. Yet, knowing Teddy, that didn’t last for long. He turned to you, pulling something out of his pocket (which you assumed had some sort of charm on it, because there was no way something that large came out of a pocket that small).
“Oh, look what I found in Harry’s room!” His eyes were lit up with excitement (and surprisly, considering this boy was 17), childlike wonder.
“Why were you digging around in Harry’s room- you know what, it doesn’t matter, what the heck is that thing?” You asked, eyeing the fabric.
“It’s an invisibility cloak,” Teddy explained, wrapping it around his body, and draping the hood over his head.
“That’s so cool, Ted, I’ve heard about those!” Your boyfriend took of the clock, revealing himself again and handing it to you.
“So I’m ususally great at prank because of my awesome metamorphous abilities.”
You scoffed at Teddy’s statement, earning you a look from him, but you still encouraged him to continue. “So anyway, I was thinking maybe you and I could wreak a little havoc, you know, play some pranks?”
“Oh definitely,” you confirmed, attempting to wrap yourself in the invisibility cloak as Teddy had done. “Who’s our first victim?”
“Oh, well, you know Jacob Corbyn? Ravenclaw, brown hair...”
“Yeah, I know Jacob. What’d he do?” You had finally put on the full invisibilty cloak, experimenting with moving around with it on.
“You know, babe, its a little hard to talk to you while you’re invisible,” Teddy sassed, not quite knowing where to look.
“Right, right, sorry,” you apologized, taking off the cloak.
“Okay, while, like a month ago, I didn’t bring a quill to transfiguaration, and we had to take notes, right? And so I asked for him for a quill, and he said no!” Teddy complained.
“Unbelievable,” you said sarcastically.
“I know right!”
You put your head in your hands. “No, Teddy, we are not pranking someone just becaues they didn’t let you borrow a quill.” Teddy pouted. “Fine, lets just get it over with,” you said, giving in, leading Teddy to practically squeal.
“Alright so I was thinking we enchant whatever sweets he buys to make his skin turn green. I found this really cool spell to do it in the restricted section-”
“Of course you were in the restricted section,” you joked.
“Yeah, yeah, but here’s the plan: he walks out of a shop, just having bought some sweets,” Teddy began. “And if he doesn’t end up doing that, then I can just pretend to be one of his friends with my amazing metamorphous powers and convince him too. Then, just before he’s about to eat one, you use the invisibility cloak to sneak up behind him and put the spell on the chocolates.”
“Alright, sounds like a plan. Let’s go find him.”
---
After ten minutes of going into shops and restaurants looking for Jacob, you finally spotted him in Madame Puddifoot’s Tea Shop, on a date.
“Ooh, boy, is this going to be good,” Teddy whispered to you, peering into the foggy window.
“I just hope his date doesn’t ditch him,” you giggled.
“Nah, she won’t. He’ll probably just think there was something in the tea,” Teddy assured you. “Alright, now you know the spell?”
“Yep. I’m going in.” And with that, you put on th invisibility cloak and slowl opened the door, slipping inside the shop.
Attempting to breathe quietly and soften your footsteps, you made your way over to Jacob’s table. There were five small cakes sitting sitting on a small silver platter ontop of the table. You weren’t sure which one to enchant, not knowing which one Jacob would eat. In a rushed decision, you simply decided to do them all. I hope Jacob takes one first, you thought, casting the spell nonverbally.
Hurrying out of the shop, you met Teddy who was waiting outside.
“So how’d it go?” He asked, anxious.
“Well there was a platter of tiny cakes, and I didn’t know which one he would eat so...I may or may not have enchanted all of them,” you admitted, giving a half smile.
“Oh god, this might be even funnier!” Teddy said with excitement. “Let’s go inside and get a table so we can watch.”
Stepping into the warm shop again was the perfect break from the cold air. You found a small table near Jacob’s, the perfect viewing point for your prank. It felt rather strange to be in a fancy, romantic shop with Teddy. He had also been your best friend, and the couple thing was still new. But you definitely liked dating Teddy better than being ‘just friends’ with him.
“Alright, any second now he should be taking it,” you muttered, staring at Jacob.
“You know, while we’re waiting, this is a pretty couple-y place,” Teddy started, grinning. “So maybe we should do some couple-y things.”
“And what would those be, Mr. Lupin?” You asked, smiling.
“Maybe, holding hands?” He asked, placing his hands on yours.
“Or maybe calling each other ‘honeybear’?” you joked.
“Well, honeybear, that sounds like a lovely idea,” Teddy laughed. “Oh, look! Jacob’s reaching for one. And his date is too! This got so much better!”
“Oh god, what have I done?” you giggled, watching as they both took a bite. Almost immediately, their skin turned green. Looking at each other in horror, they pointed at each other, and then looked down at their hands. The whole restaurant had began to stare at both of them, appealed at their green skin. Both Jacob and his date quickly gathered their stuff and exited the shop, most likely running to the hospital wing to get themselves fixed up.
“Who am I kidding, this is amazing,” you chortled, looking back at Teddy.
“Just like you,” Teddy complimented, giving you a dopey smile.
“Don’t be getting all cheesey on me, Teddy,” you grinned, smiling at his lovestruck stare.
“You know, I’m not just a bad boy, I have soft side too.”
“Sure you do, blue-boy.”
“I hate you,” Teddy said, mocking anger.
“You know you love me,” you stated, as if it were obvious.
Teddy took his hands out of yours, cupping your face and kissing you.
“I definitely do.”

Let Her Go- A Sirius Black Imagine
A/N: Hey y’all! Long time, no talk to! I’m really sorry about how MIA I’ve been lately but I honestly haven’t had the inspiration to write anymore. This story is something that has been sitting in my drafts for a while, and I never was quite happy with it. There are some plot errors in correlation to the timeline of the books but I decided fuck it because maybe finishing this and posting it would help me get back on track. So yes, I know that it wouldn’t be plausible for Sirius to be in Godric’s Hollow at this time (or at least him heading back) but I liked this idea. This fic lines up with the song “Let Her Go” by Passenger. Hope you like it. Enjoy!
Tumblr media
Sirius felt the cold snow seep into his trousers, his knees quickly burning against the soaked cloth—the only barrier between his legs and the frozen ground. His eyes were trained to the floor, staring at the muddied gray snow piled around a slab of stone. Words etched into it now show white, filled with years of leaves and dirt, only to be topped off with a fresh coat of frozen water.
Sirius had to dig his way to see the words; his raw and reddening hands both, somehow, burning from the cold and completely numb. He didn’t feel the way they shook against the freezing stone, nor the way his cheeks burned against the warm tears sliding down them. All he felt was the dizzying feeling as his eyes blurred out of focus, leaving only a swimming of the white, browns and grays in front of him.
“You shouldn’t be here,” the voice was soft, yet firm in its convictions. He knew that Sirius was hurting, but it didn’t excuse him for being there.
Sirius didn’t have to lift his head to know that it was Remus, standing far enough in the shadows to not be seen. He was always so careful and meticulous—a reason that Sirius had once thought could have been evidence of being the leak. Remus was at just a far enough distance where it wasn’t obvious, that he would not be suspected of any connection if something were to happen. Years of being a werewolf made it easy for him to lie in the shadows, knowing how to adapt and survive—another reason Sirius had once suspected him of betrayal.
How foolish he had been.
“People can see—you’re out in the open for Merlin’s—” Remus murmur grew sharper, more scolding. It was as if Sirius was back in Hogwarts, on the receiving end of his punishment for another prank. How he longed to go back now; even if just to tell himself to hold onto those moments tighter. To remember them better, not waste every moment like he had in thinking that the world lay at his feet.
“I know.” Sirius’ own voice was nothing but a hoarse whisper in the deafening silence surrounding them. “I couldn’t just not—after all this time I had to—” The words cracked against his throat, leaving him raw and sore. He knew that he shouldn’t be there, in a place so obvious if anyone had wanted to look. Yet, after twelve years away he had to see them. Had to see for himself where they were; remind himself that what happened was real and just where he had let everyone go.
The dizzying swimming of colors ceased for a moment after he blinked once, then twice. Tears that he didn’t realize had trailed down his cheeks grew behind his eyes again. He relished in the burning sting as he kept them at bay. He had told himself nearly eleven years ago that he wasn’t going to waste any more energy crying over the life he had been served and this was not going to be a time he broke that to wallow in his own pity.
Glancing to his right, he slid his body closer to the matching grave, wiping at the snow covered tombstone just as he had before. He watched as the dull gray of the stone slowly revealed her name, beautiful and pure as she was, like magic. His fingers danced over the engravement, through the contours of her name reverently. His hands were nearly purple now, bare and positively aching down to the bone.
“I’m sorry, Evans,” he mouthed, the nickname still not lost on his tongue, even years after their marriage. Even years after their deaths.
Sobs, too broken to make any noise, wracked through his frame violently until he was leaning forward, curling in on himself as he cried. He didn’t want to cry and he actually wasn’t, not really. Only a few tears were shed as he shook, leaving him feeling hollow and just as empty as he felt when he first found them—their bodies, his mind had corrected—that night on Halloween.
“Sirius,” Remus prodded, closer now. The warmth of his voice made Sirius’ soul crack further just by the unfamiliarity of the feeling.
Looking up into his friend’s eyes, he saw the pain there, too. Remus, even if for many years did Sirius think was the lucky one in this scenario, was hurting just as much as he was. Staring for a few moments longer, he searched his face only to find hesitation dancing across his features.
His mind racing at the thought of the anger and yelling that was to come, Sirius flinched involuntarily. He prepared his body, without realizing, for the feeling of desperation and aching loneliness. Years upon years of being nothing but a delicious game for dementors left him expecting the worst when he was in trouble. The sobs that had him trembling like a small boy had long stopped, fearing that his crying over the friends he had lost would only upset Remus further. Who was he to be crying over them anyway? It was his fault that they had died.
Yet, Sirius’ long list for Remus’ expected anger had been interrupted by a hand slowly reaching out to stop in front of his face. Ignoring Sirius’ flinch, Remus simply sniffed and offered a sad grimace, “Pads, there’s something you need to see.”
On shaky feet Sirius allowed himself to be hauled up by Remus and followed him, wondering what could have been so important that he would risk being seen with one of the most wanted fugitives of the wizarding world. Sirius also noted the way Remus was guiding him, gentle and hovering as if he was waiting for his legs to give out.
A bitter scoff left his throat, but even it sounded weak. He must have really looked like shit.
As the two friends walked a few more meters, towards an old tree that would hide them from view, Sirius felt the pit deep in his stomach grow. He couldn’t think of many that Remus would need him to see, his mind already so tired of hearing about the people he had lost. Yet, Sirius’ whole body seemed to tense as he realized who that was six feet below him. Remus’ hand collided with his back when Sirius stopped dead in his tracks, unwilling to move another muscle.
“No,” he said, his voice louder than it had been in a long while.
“It was a few years after you had been in Azkaban and—”
“No,” he cut him off, head dizzy and eyes swimming with more unshed tears. “Moony, no.”
“Okay,” he relented, just for a few moments before Sirius felt the warmth of Remus’ hand leave him. “Just—”
Sirius heard Remus sigh and then walk closer towards the tree, before bending down and making a short wiping motion with his glove covered hand. It was the same motion Sirius had made at the headstones of James and Lily. He wouldn’t let it be the same motion for you.
Closing his eyes for a moment, he squeezed his hand into a fist at his side. For a few moments he felt nothing, until the low ache of his nails digging into his raw skin made its way to him. A cold wind swept by him and Sirius briefly noted how much he would rather have had the wind blow him away, back to Azkaban.
His feet moved on their own accord, knowing that his own mind would neither command them to move closer nor have the strength to do so. Slowly, the name Remus had been staring down at made its way into his line of focus and Sirius felt his whole world fall around him.
Sinking to the floor again, this time involuntarily, he wailed. It was a noise that made Remus’ heart shatter, sounding more like a wounded animal than any human noise he had ever heard. Sirius felt his empty stomach roll and heave against the cold, dead air. The bitter bile he tasted in his mouth made no show of itself yet he couldn’t stop his stomach from trying to contract over and over again.
He had remembered the only other time he had felt this hopeless, this lost. There were only two moments in his life: when he found his brother and his wife dead and the first night he spent in Azkaban. The way everything surrounding him was seemingly circling overhead, waiting to come crashing down, made the fear and panic set in.
You were gone and he hadn’t even known.
As the sun began to rise over the houses, Remus remembered just where they were. Even if partially hidden by the tree, it was only a matter of time before the rest of Godric’s Hollow woke. They couldn’t risk being seen. “Sirius, we need to go.”
The words fell on deaf ears as Sirius continued to rock himself ever so slightly, trying to remember the way you felt in his arms. He had known that he had lost you when he went to Azkaban, but he didn’t realize how little he ever had of you to begin with.
Your timing was always messed up, you’d said, smiling sadly at him. Things had happened in the world around you that neither had control over and things just hadn’t aligned properly. Sirius had spent years pining over you, trying desperately to ignore messing up the one good thing in his life. He, at the time, had not known that you were just as desperately pining away after him. Yet, once it had finally come out in the open, you both were in the midst of a raging war. There was no time for love or romance, not to him.
He had seen first hand the worry and stress love had put both James and Lily through and he couldn’t stand the thought of you caught up over him. Whether he liked it or not, ever since the birth of Harry, James was compromised in the field. He had been sent into hiding for Merlin’s sake! Naively, Sirius had thought, that James, while being smart to protect his family, was foolish to let himself love in a time like that.
No matter how hard you tried to fight for him, Sirius had told you no. That once this was all over and you were safe, he would allow himself to be with you. Because if you would still be gracious enough to have him, he would need to have you without being terrified that something would happen.
With a smile and a chaste kiss—the only one the two of you had ever shared—you told him that if it was what he truly needed, then you would wait. You would wait through the worried, paranoia filled nights and the long, gruesome battles. Because you had said that he was worth it.
“She—” he sobbed, remembering the soft lilt of your voice clearly for the first time since he had left you. “Did she believe that I—that James—”
“No,” Remus cut him off, throat catching as he tried to sound convincing. “She believed in you, Pads. Always had.”
Another wounded sound tore from Sirius’ anguished heap of a bony form and he slowly reached out to have his fingers dance along your name, just as he did with Lily’s. “Y-You’re not just saying that, yeah? She really thought I was innocent?”
Taking in a deep breath, Remus bit his lip and tucked away his own guilt that was gnawing at him sharply. “Yeah,” he chuckled slightly, rocking back on his heels, “caused a bit of a rift, actually. She was just so sure she knew.” There were a few more moments of silence, Sirius’ sobs have quieted again and Remus’ own tears had started flowing silently. “She had tried to get you a trial. Jumped through every hoop imaginable with the Ministry, but she—she never gave up. ‘Said that you wouldn’t give up on her, that waiting wasn’t good enough this time.
“She was trying to figure out who else could have done it, looking into every Death Eater she could. A-And that’s when they got the drop on us… I tried to help but—Sirius, I’m so sorry but we can’t be out here.”
“Go, Remus.”
There was a few moments of silence before Sirius felt the comforting squeeze of his hand on his shoulder. The presence was comforting and calm and just as he got used to the feeling, it disappeared. By the time Sirius had gained the strength to sit up and turn around, he heard the loud crack of apparition and saw nothing standing behind him.
He was alone again.
It was many nights later when Sirius had finally made his way back to the cave he had come to call ‘makeshift home.’ Finally, he let himself fully mourn the loss of you. Staring into the bottom of a bottle of cheap scotch—he had bummed it off of some muggle store; something to add to the list of ‘things he wasn’t proud of’—Sirius had realized that everyone he touched dies.
“Reg, James, Lily, Y/N…” he trailed off, lolling his head to the other side to stare at a sleeping Buckbeak. “I killed them all.” He paused for a moment, feeling his eyes blur with more unshed tears. “I’m a right fool, Beaky ol’ pal. I never told her I loved ‘er.”
Buckbeak simply shifted in his sleep, curling into himself further to shield himself from the rain now pouring outside. Sirius sobbed again, thinking to himself how pathetic it must be for him to be crying in the middle of the night, in a cave, while he was a hiding fugitive. If only you could have seen him now.
Closing his eyes, Sirius imagined the way you would have looked at him in both mild accusation and concern. You always were one to tell it to him straight, never sugar coating it to spare him. You preferred being honest, a quality that he always admired in you. Used to admire in you.
“Your honesty probably got you offed,” he mumbled, eyes still closed but speaking as if you were right there with him. In a way, maybe you were. You were in his mind and even if you were alive, this would still be all he had of you. “That and your smart mouth. You always did know just what to say to rile them up, love. ‘Get them right where you wanted them.”
Pushing roughly against the wall of the cave, Buckbeak woke with a start and tried to stand before Sirius was stumbling over to calm him. “Sorry, boy. Just can’t get her out’ta my head. You ever know what that’s like? A pretty bird,” he paused, snorting to himself at the slight joke before continuing, “ever catch your eye? Y’know how to love, Beaky?”
Buckbeak simply nudged him, tucking him under his giant wing. The action startled Sirius and the corner of his mouth turned upwards in a hint of a smile, splitting his cracked lip further. Sirius hadn’t felt that sort of comfort from anyone, human or creature, in so long that he didn’t know what to do with it.
“I really loved her, Buckbeak and I fucked it all up. Merlin knows how sorry I am; s’all my fault too.”
Staring up at the ceiling of the cave, Sirius’ mind went blank as his heart began to numb. The usual freezing shakes had not bothered him tonight as he carefully cuddled closer into the hippogriff; yet, he could not help the shiver that ran throughout his body at the thought of your cold, lifeless body six feet below him.
It just didn’t feel right; him being escaped from Azkaban, living a life—albeit a shit one—when you or James or Lily didn’t get to. You would never know how much he loved you, how much he had needed you. You would never be able to follow the dreams you had for after the war. You would never be able to sit and relax in his arms.
You would never be here, again.
As Sirius’ eyes slowly drifted closed, he hoped he’d have dreams of you. Because maybe he could have you in his sleep, never to touch and never to keep. Yet, it was as good as he would ever be able to reach, now that you were gone.
And maybe then he could tell you; maybe then he could have the life he so desperately wanted. Even if he didn’t deserve it.
Because he couldn’t let you go.

Er may I ask for wolfstar first date fluff?
(yes, of course, darling!)
They didn’t really tell anyone what had occurred during winter hols on the first day of 1977. Sirius, typically bursting to speak and bouncing with excited energy, should have presumably found this a difficult task. Maybe it was the… distraction… of a certain bookish, lanky wolf-boy, but he had no trouble at all keeping this information between them. In fact, the lack of guilt he had at keeping something so monumental from his fellow Marauders, hell, from his own brother, was starting to concern him a bit. It wasn’t that he wanted to avoid the topic (he was tired of feeling ashamed for his existence, and this was one thing he refused to let humiliate him in any way), but rather that anytime he got to bring it up in a serious way, meaning no mentions of pranks, no flirting with Mcgonagall, no pining for Evans, no sneaking snacks from the house elves to pacify Peter’s “night hunger,” and absolutely not during detention with Filch leering over their shoulders as they scrubbed cauldrons, or worse, tried to avoid certain death tramping around the Forbidden Forest with Hagrid on a wild nixie chase for Merlin knows what for Professor Whomever- Eugh- was dashed to bits when he opened his mouth. He’d try to force the words out, only to find himself incapable of speaking as he thought back to the night of New Year’s Eve: the four of them, sprawled out in the grass beneath blankets and warming charms and beside a warm fire on the Potter’s estate, the way it had crunched beneath his feet as he’d snuck off for a cigarette with the rest of them asleep, how Moony seemed to silently materialize from the smoke curling in wisps before him. They’d sat talking for maybe an hour in quiet whispers, Remus’ characteristically hoarse voice so soft it caused him to shiver more than the light snow still falling from the night sky. He wasn’t sure how it happened, really… Moony had asked him for a hit off his fag, he’d passed it over without complaint, the tips of his fingers brushing against the taller boy’s windblown cheeks as he did. Moony was freezing, and Sirius refused to ever have anything bad plague his Remus if it could be helped. One moment, he was pressing his own warm palms to Lupin’s cheeks, the next, in a moment of realization, they were staring at one another so intensely Sirius forgot how to breathe. They’d shifted closer, but he didn’t think much of it; that was their way. He and Moony had always been close in a way which was different from his camaraderie with James.
His love for James was loud, and brash, and reckless. It had to be displayed through elaborate pranks, through sarcastic jabs and shoving him into broom closets with Evans (only one time, to be fair, as she’d hexed him rather thoroughly after storming out in disgust), and-and odes proclaimed from tabletops across the Great Hall, arms slung around slumped shoulders that quickly turned into headlocks, turned endearments into insults and good-natured roughhousing. His friendship with Remus was nothing like that, aside from a healthy dose of sarcasm. It was quiet, subtle, natural even. He and Remus were a pair, the two of them together felt as necessary to the order of life as breathing. Remus’ long legs were the best to throw his head upon when dramatically sulking over exams, his nimble fingers the only ones left free throughout the day to absentmindedly card tangles from his dark hair. Moony’s bed was warmest after nightmares of his mother shouting evil things… unforgivable things and the green glare imprinted on the backs of his eyelids and pain, so so much pain. And although Moony might tease him, he never got tired of him, rather made time for him, even if that time was spent listening to Sirius ramble on about nothing while he wrote an essay one-handed, parchment splayed across Sirius’ back, who lay on his stomach in Remus’ lap, taking up most of the window seat in their dorm. They just… were. And Sirius had realized what this meant ages before when he considered that even though he loved Pete and James, it wasn’t in the way he loved Remus. Loving Remus was like loving the magic in his veins, or oxygen in the air. You did it without thinking because you couldn’t even consider it being gone.
They’d met eyes through the shadowy night, Sirius’ fingers tracing the lines of Remus’ cheekbones and jaw, a bit stubbly with the full just four days away and something in Remus’ gaze had lit up. Sirius could just see him, looking a bit smudgy with the smoke hanging from his parted mouth in the dark without the aid of werewolf vision to help him. And it certainly did, for Remus seemed to catch something in the minute details of expressions passing over Sirius’ face as he studied the boy before him. His eyes widened, then closed as he took a shuddering breath and leaned in.
“Sirius.” He’d murmured, and Black had the strangest feeling in his chest, as though he might cry from the intensity of that one sound coming off Remus’ tongue.
“Yeah?” His own speech was still a bit slurred from the firewhiskey bottle they’d nicked from Fleamont’s stores and passed between them as midnight grew ever closer.
Remus shook his head, seeming desperate, almost dazed. “Sirius.” He said again, and then they were kissing. His lips ghosted once across Black’s, who slid his hands back to cup the small curls at the nape of Lupin’s neck, drawing him in and their mouths meshed together, heavy, yet soft and Remus murmured his name again and again in the space between their lips. He wouldn’t stop saying his name even as he leaned in so far Sirius fell onto his back and pulled him closer, and held Remus to him so gently as though afraid to lose him the moment they opened their eyes again. When they parted, breathing each other’s fogged breaths in the cold, Lupin hovered over him, trembling slightly as he used his thumb to smooth the line of worry out of the panting boy’s high, aristocratic brow.
“Sirius.” He whispered again, but now his tone was entirely loving and Sirius was forced to look up at him. And there was Moony, same as ever, with a ridiculous blue knit cap upon his head, smiling down at him. “Happy New Year.”
A laugh bubbled out of his throat, and he shoved at Lupin, knocking him down… and on top of him. “You git! Midnight came almost two hours ago!” he hissed, rolling them onto their sides, jumper and jacket now littered with grass stalks.
Remus freed one hand to push a lock of hair back behind Sirius’ ear. “My apologies.”
Sirius felt warm all over. “I don’t think I can excuse such tardiness, but… You can make it up to me.”
And every time he tried to relate the story (a very, very abridged version of it) to his mates, he got to thinking about it, and then just stood there biting back a smile. It felt so intimate… So special. So theirs. He couldn’t bring himself to tell anyone else about it, not even Mckinnon when he could pry her away from Dorcas. He wanted to keep it between them. He told Moony about it, but the boy only chuckled at him.
“Padfoot, we’re together now.” He said simply. And it was true. Because they were… There was no other option after that. He and Remus just… had to be. “You’ve got to tell them eventually or sharing a dorm with us will get awkward… Besides, I don’t particularly fancy losing my chance at Head Boy because someone keeps using the map to find me and spirit me away to empty classrooms during my rounds.”
Sirius lobbed a chocolate wrapper at his head. “You didn’t even want to be a prefect, now you’re on about nabbing Head Boy, you tosser!”
Remus shrugged. “The bathroom has its perks, and it looks good on a resume. And it’s nice to know that I can give you detention.”
Sirius feigned shock and threw a pillow this time that Lupin expertly deflected with a flick of his wand. “As though you ever do? Sure, send your boyfriend off to polish desks or something with McGonagall when he could be alone with you. ” He snorted. Remus made a face at him.
“You’re not my boyfriend unless we have a proper date. A New Year’s snog in a field doesn’t count.” Remus pointed out, even though he was smiling.
“Fine then,” Sirius replied, hitting him with a charming grin. “Monsieur Moony, would you do me the honor of joining me for a romantic outing this Hogsmeade Weekend?” He finished with an outlandish flourish of the arm.
“The posh accent really ties it all together,” Remus said with a smirk, pretending to consider. “But yes, Pads, I’d love that.”
Sirius came closer, about to kiss the upturned corner of Lupin’s mouth, but Remus stopped him with one hand pressing on his chest. “Wait. We have got to tell James and Peter first. Or else they’d probably think we’re up to something and spy on us and I don’t fancy having to explain to Rosemerta why we suddenly decided to dine with a rat and a bloody stag at the next table.”
Padfoot laughed against Remus’ mouth, hands upon the sitting boy’s shoulders. “You know they’re bound to do that anyways. If I tell James, will you tell Peter?”
