reading update
Tumblr media
small reading update for the day.
i'm about halfway through the winners, it has been going a bit slow for me but i honestly just think i'm in a physical reading slump and i'm trying to push through it. ugh.
next, i just started how to sell a haunted house by grady hendrix and im about an hour into it and its pretty good. i really like the buildup so far and the brother mark is so sus i feel like he has smth to do with the parents' death. idk though but that is my theory so far!
anyway, feel free to let me know what you're currently reading if you'd like or just let me know if you've read either of these so far!
until next time! probably tomorrow

Today’s Special: A Simple Eclipse Limerick
A special treat - a limerick about #eclipse2024 #penofglen #glenwrites #rapture #therapture #eclpise #poem #limerick #verse #today #news #author #reading #readers #usa #sun #solar #sky #dark
Today, I’ve got a little surprise for you—a limerick about the recent eclipse. It’s short, sweet, and I hope it tickles your fancy. Why not try writing one yourself after reading it? The Rapture In the US, the moon played a game, Hiding the sun, “The Rapture” they claim. But in the UK, It was just another gray day, The eclipse unseen, what a shame! I’d love to hear your thoughts on this…

After traveling a certain path, very few people turn back, thinking they made a mistake in the middle of the journey. The saying "It is profitable no matter where you turn on the road" does not apply to some roads. Even though some distances are short, there is a lot of time spent there. That's why you never know how much profit or loss returning from there will bring.

Endings
April 10, 2024|Blogging
Unfortunately, all stories come to an end. Whether good or not. Some endings can be abrupt, unexpected, full-circle, resolved, or cliffhanger-type endings. Personally, I hate an abrupt ending that leaves you to decide what happens next. A happy ending is what most of us want, but sometimes a sad or full-circle ending is better for the story. What type of endings do you prefer? I would love to hear from you and find out. Remember to "Enjoy the Write!" KSCarson

Jeremy and Cecily... Jeremy and Cecily... Jeremy and Cecily... Jeremy and Cecily... Jeremy and Cecily... Jeremy and Cecily...
OMFGGGGG the oozing angst between these guys was crazyyyyyyyyyyy 😍😍😍😋. There tantalizing chemistry off the charts.
To be Fair I didn't like Jeremy alot in the beginning he was very controlling but near the ending he becomes soooo damn sweet... Swoon worthy. He did fight or rather kill Cecilys demons for her AMAZING🫶🏻.
Cecily is perfect heroine for anti-hero Jeremy. She was literally jealous of Maya ufffffffff!!! U go girl😎
I really loved them both. HE COUNTED EVERY FRECKLE ON HER FACE ughhhhhh😧😧😧😧I mean who does that, it's so romantic.
Anddddddd sex scenes were bonkersssssss😋🌶🥵
Enemies to lovers is perfect bookish trope.
I liked God of Wrath but didn't love it! But I did love Jeremy and Cecily 💕
3.5 to 4 🌟 (somewhere between)

another reading update
so i have about five hours left of how to sell a haunted house and i realllyyyyy hate these dolls/puppets.
i feel bad for blaming mark for stuff now i see his side of the story but i do have to admit he was being a bit sus in the beginning.
and the ring leader puppet? pupkin? yeah i don't fuck with him tbh.
its actually scary like? when you get to the fight scene in the house with the needle? yeah that one i was cringing so hard because i hate that stuff so much.
so far i would give it about 4.5 or even 5 stars, it's my type of creepy, an actual book that makes me cringe and be creeped out but not over the top like a slasher horror. i would recommend it so far!

☂️VIOLETS☂️
BY KYUNG-SOOK SHIN AND TRANSLATED BY Anton Hur REVIEW
“Violets pulled up some deeply-hidden childhood trauma in me, which now has the chance to heal itself.”
I've managed to master some courage and I have written a quite emotional review.
This was my goal from the beginning because there are way more people who could professionally analyze an author's work than me but it's only me who felt a certain way reading this book so, here I am.
"I had a complicated relationship with my mom. This book brought me closer to her even if I didn’t want to."
When I have seen the title of her other book: Please Look After Mom I had a feeling that she writes about motherhood and mom-daughter relationships and I was scared.
Because I wasn't ready to deal with this emotionally.
In Violets, I had to face a few of my demons but I felt like both the author and Anton were 'holding my hand' through this journey so I felt like I wasn't alone.
out by @feministpress (US edition)
and @wnbooks @orionbooks (UK edition)
I highly, highly recommend this book. If you haven't read it yet but you were tempted many times to get it. This is your sign to grab it.
☂️Have a wonderful and peaceful day with loads of books and follow me for more bookish posts ☂️
