Kyo Sohma x Male Reader

Okay, so, I actually love the thought of queer relationships between the zodiac. It's always been very cute to me, plus it would save them from turning into an animal when they want affection.

Also, for these headcanons, let's just say that trans men/transmascs don't have any effect so that it stays inclusive! (I know Fruits Basket isn't the most trans-inclusive, but we're ignoring that)

Anyway, this would most likely take place before you two start dating. I doubt he'd be the type to commit to a relationship before revealing this part of himself. He's not good at this sort of thing.

So, right now, y'all are just friends. Most likely, you met at school. You're in the same class, or you met through one of his cousins/Tohru.

At first, he avoided you. It had nothing to do with you in particular - he just hates being social. Eventually, you do manage to interact with him, and he decides you're chill enough to be around. So you two become friends.

One day, you, Kyo, Tohru, and Yuki are hanging out outside of school. This is the first time you've hung out with them outside of school, so this is new territory for you. Specifically, the four of you went to the library to study for an upcoming test.

You sat in a back corner, away from everyone else. Tohru had gotten up to go grab a book, but she tripped over the leg of the chair. Kyo was sitting next to her, and he's the one she falls into. Suddenly, there's a puff of smoke, and when it clears, you see Tohru holding an orange cat, and Kyo is nowhere to be seen.

Tohru and Yuki look panicked, and you're confused. The two of them scramble to come up with some kind of explanation, but all you can think about is how adorable the cat is. You assume it's Kyo, although you couldn't explain what happened.

Tohru had put Kyo down by this point, and he walks across the table to get to you. His eyes have the same deadpan look they usually do, which is funnier in his cat form. Sensing no hostility from you, Yuki and Tohru are able to calm down a little bit, and Yuki is able to get a proper explanation out. You process only some of his words, too focused on how cute Kyo looks.

Without much thought, you scoop him up in your arms, gently holding him close. Kyo makes a startled noise, but doesn't struggle too much. Yuki looks amused as he ushers Tohru away, intent on giving you two some alone time.

Kyo asks you what you think you're doing, and you're shocked he can still speak in this form. You shyly explain that you just thought he looked cute, and your body kind of just moved on its own. You go to put him down, but he doesn't budge from your arms. It's barely audible, but you swear you heard him say something about him enjoying the embrace. You chuckle at that as you hold him tighter. If you listen closely, you can almost hear him purring softly.

Then, another puff of smoke appears. When it dissipates, you see Kyo standing in front of you, back to his regular human form. Except for the fact that he's completely naked. You turn away, flustered that you saw him in such a state. Kyo also turns around, tripping over himself as he looks for his clothes. Neither of you speak a word, and it's around this time that Yuki and Tohru make their return.

Yuki still looks amused by the situation, choosing to tease Kyo. Tohru is immediately flustered, still not used to seeing the boys after they transform back. As the boys continue fighting, Tohru comes up to you, asking if you're okay. She knows from personal experience that this kind of situation can be startling, so she wants to make sure that you're feeling alright. When you respond in the affirmative, she smiles.

Kyo and Yuki stop bickering, and Kyo is fully dressed once again. He can't quite make eye contact with you, but he does apologize for what happened, if in his own tsundere way. You laugh a bit, explaining that you're fine, just a bit shocked at what just happened. The three nod, as they can all understand how you feel.

By this point, none of you are in the mood for studying anymore, so you decide to pack up for the night. As you walk out of the library, you turn away from them, as your home is in the opposite direction of where they live. However, you feel something grab your hand, and when you turn to look, you see Kyo. He's still not making eye contact, and his face is a little red, but his grip on your hand is strong.

Quietly, he asks if he can walk you home. You're shocked, and you can hear Tohru cheering in the background as Yuki tries to silence her. After a moment to recover from the shock, you smile and him and squeeze his hand, accepting his offer. He makes eye contact with you for the first time since the incident, and you can see a small smile appear on his face. He tells the others that he'll meet them at home, and you're on the way to your house.

As you walk, Kyo explains everything in as much detail as he can. He leaves out all of his family drama, as that's a story for another day, but he does bring up his curse and how it works. You jokingly remark that he wouldn't transform with you, since you're both boys, and he laughs a bit at that. He gestures to your hands, still interlocked, and states that even holding hands with a girl would cause him to transform. That makes you laugh as well.

Soon you're back home, and he drops you off at your door. He squeezes your hand one last time before letting it go, and he asks if you'd like to hang out again, to which your agree. You do make one more sly comment about wanting to see him as a cat again, telling him that he looked oh so adorable. He groans, but it's all in good humor. He leaves, already thinking of plans for next time.

The two of you don't start dating right away. It takes more time, but this is the first major step. Also, he's willing to be more affectionate with you because he knows he won't transform. It's nothing more than hand-holding on leaning against you for right now, but when you do start dating, he gets very clingy, especially in public.

You don't get to see him transform that often since you don't cause any of his transformations, but when you do get to see it, it's always a treat. He gets so flustered when he transforms, and it worsens when he transforms back to human. You've gotten used to the nakedness after the first few times, but he never quite does, especially when you're around. It's cute.

Bestie I think we know why Wyll is underappreciated and lacking content 😭 If that man was palm-color, he’d be a big hit… I’m a WOC (Indigenous proud!!) and to see the ONLY canon* BIPOC in the main lineup being severely ignored by the fandom makes me so angry.

*I inserted ‘canon’ in this phrase since Lae’zel and Karlach have unnatural skin tones, they could be seen as BIPOC coded or headcanon as such (I hc both as Indigenous baddies, but that’s mostly just projection lol), but ultimately, they are not BIPOC and are their own separate classification, and I don’t think the developers/writers really had any intention of writing them with any specific race or nationality in mind since this is in fact a fantasy game and those concepts aren’t always translated into media on purpose.

The blatant racism in this game makes me so viscerally angry I start shaking. The rewrite of Wyll to make him less "aggressive" into man-who-can-do-no-wrong because people saw he was black and perceived it as aggression pisses me off. Not to mention he has the least content of everyone, rewrite or no. They were too scared to give him any sense of anger or anything because of racist EA players, instead of saying hey y'all are racist because he's black and this is the story we intend to tell.

Similar thing with Gale and being blatantly ableist in their treatment of him. He's neurodivergent (mostly autistic) coded, and the studio openly joins in with an ableist community to shit on him for BLATANTLY ND TRAITS.

I love the game and I haven't even played it yet, but I am so so so tired of the blatant mistreatment of their characters because they keep caving to fan "complaints". Wyll needs more love ESPECIALLY as the only BIPOC companion and I will eat elephant shit for this to happen.

kinda stolen from Dana herself but I thought of it before I saw Dana say it so it counts as mine lol - anyway, Willow discovers roller derby while in the human realm and boy howdy does she love it. like, y'all, I get it's a kiddy disney show but flyer derby did not have nearly enough violence in it so once she discovers the roller equivalent she is delighted.

I mean it's broad but like, it's gotta be her lack of screentime in the first half of s2. I don't even really know how I'd fix it I just think I want to see her more. Things like the awkward stage her and Amity's not-yet-friendship could have been explored so much more.

I mean, I am a sucker for her and Hunter I won't deny it. Like, it's truly my favorite 'looks like opposites attract at first glance but then you look deeper and realize they are actually very, very, very similar people and that's what's drawn them together' trope. I like that they recognize their strengths and weaknesses in each other and they help bring out the former while teaching them not to be ashamed of the latter. The show knew they didn't have a lot of time with these two but still managed to pack in a lot of emotional depth and it gives me many feels.

It's definitely been like... a growing appreciation for the pairing, not only from the episodes themselves but from the fan creators (shoutouts to necr0dancin and requyem btw. ALSO shoutouts to DonutKittyBowBow on AO3, go read their Stars, Roots, and Trick-or-Treating series if you haven't, it's great)

The thing about John and Jack is that they're both just guys. Like in the sense of Candybats being two dumbass young adults in young love, Smokydonuts is two dumbass grown adults managing to find love in each other, if that makes sense.

Personally I like seeing them develop into a romantic relationship over the series rather than already being A Thing, but I'm down for already established stuff too

Jack is definitely the more outwardly affectionate of the two, but even then I imagine the ways they show affection are much more discrete, simple gestures and the like. It makes the softer more domestic moments all the sweeter :>

Also the angst potential is immaculate. Even ignoring the funny cult stuff, John is most likely a widow. He could have SO many hangups about how he feels like he's "betraying" that old relationship as he comes to realize just how much he loves Jack! Jack helping him move past his grief!! Like y'all!!

And this is something I pointed out like right after Deadly Smiles aired, but there is such a gold mine of potential shenanigans of John's daughter thinking John and Jack are already dating and I am so sad nobody's tapped into it (in a similar vein, the cult burning down John's house literally gives an excuse for him to live with Jack. Come on people /lh)

Also like. I think another reason the pairing's grown on me is that Tender Treats really made me love Jack dksjfs -- he's a goofball that is fully capable of kicking ass, and he just cares a lot! When I was doing a SM rewatch and got to the Newgrounds ending for Deadly Smiles, you can see Jack is concerned that John is uh. Getting a bit too invested into the cult investigation, but despite that goes along with it bc he knows how important it is, yet still manages to pull John's mind off it for just a little bit because Jack knows he needs a break

In general they just balance each other out excellently -- John is gruff and keeps his cards close to his chest, while Jack is more open and lighthearted. And because of the fact they're almost always together, they have one of the most fleshed out dynamics in the entire show

Maybe this is another reason I like the ship - we get to see John finally show his hand so to speak, something we've only gotten hints of with the photos of his daughter, and I love seeing the stoic characters open up

And another thing!!!! (My mind is occupied by this topic a lot this morning lol) The people who put those headcanons on the characters only focus on the Fun UwU Quirky parts of being neurodivergent. The amount of times I've seen stories or art of the tremendous drawbacks having such neurodivergencies brings with it can be counted on one hand. It's always the "omg Sonic is so hyperactive he's totes ADHD he likes running and struggles to sit still!!" in a So Cute So Silly So Relatable way, never the "you cannot get anything done despite mentally SCREAMING at yourself to get up and do your tasks, you think everyone in your life can't stand you, you insert your foot in your mouth every time you speak, you can't finish a task to save your life" way. It truly makes me wonder how people who give every single character a Fun Quirky So Silly neurodivergency think, especially when they only focus on the endearing parts.

"If "neurotypicalness" is associated ... can have a personality too." It's exactly this! Why would I want to go around saying I'm straight if everyone immediately declares me a boring bigot because of that? Why would I tell anyone I'm not sure if I'm neurodivergent or neurotypical if the latter will immediately make me come off as someone with zero interests who is a dick to anyone even slightly off what is considered "the norm"? I wouldn't say people stating these things are directly harmful, especially because in real life people simply do not think and act like on Tumblr, but I do firmly believe that it is simply hurtful for people who fall in the 'bad' categories. (But then again, I am also firmly convinced that Tumblr has a general mindset of "They hurt us first so now we get to hurt them back, for justice!!!", completely ignoring they have no idea who the recipients are in their daily life and what they stand for, so...)

Also I was actually thinking the other day of the Sonic Chest Fur theory, and... Sample size of four people. Good job, y'all! I honestly think that claiming that you can give your Forces Avatar chest fur regardless of gender is a more solid claim about how chest fur is not male-exclusive than stating that Sonic is Totes Trans because he lacks it. And also, that argument has never stopped anyone from headcanoning Shadow and Silver as trans.... I'm curious what would happen if you brought up the Sonic Has No Chest Fur argument to state those two cannot be, were it not that I think it'd be equal to throwing a bomb straight into a hornet's nest.

There is definitely a tendency to cutesify autism and ADHD here. I have neither, so I'd rather not insist too much and leave others to speak out, but even I know that both come with massive challenges. That's why they're called disorders! They don't have to be life-debilitating ofc, they're not curses, but I can imagine how some ND people might be irritated by others, especially fellow NDs, simply ignoring their struggles because they're not appealing. Ngl I'd find a realistic portrayal of Sonic with ADHD much more refreshing than the usual "hehe he's hyperactive he's just like me fr fr <3"

(at least, when I see people headcanon a character as for example having BPD, they do acknowledge the difficulties that come with the disorder)

And yes, I do realize that Tumblr is not real life. Apparently 90% of people here are both ND and LGBT+, the complete opposite of real life. I get it. I don't want to come off as "wanting to be oppressed so bad" or whatever, at this point I'm too old to care. But still, young people are being shaped on Tumblr and especially on its nastier little sibling Twitter, and I don't want teens to internalize that cishet NT people are boring shells of human beings at best and asshole bigots at worst.

Personally I'd sooner headcanon that Shadow and Silver are a different kind of hedgehog compared to Sonic - they both have fur and eye markings, plus a similar eye shape, it's interesting. I also have... opinions on how generally trans Sonic is portrayed, but eh, I think I'm being problematic enough :V

the nice thing about having friends who have faith in you, having a twin brother you can rant to and not be judged poorly (considering he himself has also been in some hot water with our extended family before, lol), having a sister-in-law you can talk to about the technicalities of things, is that it grounds you to reality. it gives you perspective, and just outright reminds you that you shouldn't let what people say online get to you, because at the end of the day, all this will pass, yknow?

i'm excited for the day i can look back on all of this and laugh about it; it'll make for a neat conversation starter with my friends. lol there's no regret in what happened. i only regret the way i let it get to me, and how i'd forgotten one of my other personal rules when i engage in fandom. but having talked to my loved ones now (and listening to bollywood music), i'm on solid, firmer ground again, so i think it's a lot safer for me now to think and talk about it, to get all my thoughts out onto paper and onto the same solid ground with me.

what happened this week was a double-whammy for me: individuals called me out for a post I'd reblogged on here with some tags I wrote on there, and a meta post that garnered some controversy about a generally accepted fanon take on a character (said take being fanon is my opinion, just so we're clear, future me).

i have hurt a number of individuals with the tags i wrote in that post, and i do feel remorseful for the way i came off, but ultimately, i do stand by them. my reasons were not stated in that post, because i spoke only in the tags; we have a limit of 30 tags, y'all. i'm not able to give all my justifications onto those tags because i'm limited (30!), and i never thought i'd have to (despite the fact that i understood that i had no obligation to), in the first place.

whether or not people choose to discern and draw conclusions about my character based on those tags alone, or if they want to reach out to me to get further clarification, that's entirely up to them. i can't control how people perceive me online, so why expend the energy to giving their opinions about me any weight, when i can use said energy for other things (like smutty kimchay art--//hits)?

the way i see it, the people who choose to discern my character and jump to conclusions about it based on those tags alone says a lot more about them than it ever will about me.

having said that...

cat!kim, bottom!kim, submissive!kim...I don't like any of these headcanons (that hasn't stopped me from reading some amazing bottom!kim fics though, lemme just say XD) because in my mind, they're heavily influenced by jeff satur's media personality and disregards the boundary between actor and character. no one has to agree with me on this, nor should anyone feel the need to explain themselves to me about why they may think the opposite, because at the end of the day, these are just my opinions. anyone else is more than welcome to think the contrary. i cannot control what people think of me through these opinions any more than i can control people giving weight to them in the first place.

autistic!kim and basically any headcanon that applies a medical diagnosis onto a fictional character...is an idea i choose not to engage in, or entertain in any capacity. that's all there is to it. am i stopping others from engaging in this idea? not at all; explore this idea as much as you want in the capacity it makes you happy. that's one of the purposes of fandom, after all. but for my part, i cannot engage in it whatsoever; i'd much rather people in this fandom just think the worst of me, call me all types of names and labels in the book, and live in ignorance about my character, than to compromise on this. i can explain myself in limited capacity in a private chat, but otherwise, i won't share any more of myself than what i feel i can or should in this public space, yknow?

as for my meta posts...i'm very glad they do encourage conversation, even if others disagree with me, but just please be nice about it. i don't mind engaging in friendly debate in private, but i will also admit that debate about character interpretation in public gives me hella anxiety, alas. it's harder to discern people's tones online, and what was once originally a debate can quickly spiral into yelling matches because of this loss of context.

but yeah, i think now i can safely say i've made a little bit of peace with this incident(s), even if i'm still processing a lot of emotions!

1) the character everyone gets wrong: Jiang Cheng might be the most polarizing character of all IMO. But I don't think people get him "WRONG," so much as we tend to fall on either side of the discussion: either more or less critical of his inactions/overreactions. Personally, I am less inclined to forgive a lot of JC's BS, but!!! I also blame his parents' godawful child-rearing for him being so emotionally constipated.

2) a compelling argument for why your fave would never top or bottom: Canonically, LWJ never bottomed a day in his life, and I rebuke any heresy refuting this god-given evidence, amen.

3) screenshot or description of the worst take you've seen on tumblr: That one poll where people actually voted to behead WWX and marry Xue Yang had me like WHOMST???? Like, I understand marrying JGY, but XY?! O_O

4) what was the last straw that made you finally block that annoying person? I haven't blocked anyone in the CQL/MDZS fandom (yet)

5) worst discord server and why: I don't use discord. I wish they'd change the layout, it's a jumbled mess IMO.

As for while the main cast (Tsuna & co.) are trudging through their years in uni, Reborn has grown a considerable amount, and has kind of let Tsuna on a longer kitestring than before; He still offers his absolutely unhinged tutoring services, and threatens Tsuna that if he doesn't sit down and study to do well in college, he is doomed to having no skills outside of being the 10th generation Vongola family boss lolol

Mammon literally doesn't have to worry about anyone in uni lolol I don't think they're close to anyone who would go to university, maybe Fran but they genuinely could care less about how his studies are going; Maybe if Fran was an accounting/econ major and Mammon considered him a good asset for accumulating wealth.... but we all know Fran's an art or language student or some shit so there's no way in hell

Colonnello goes to all of the sports events to cheer on Yamamoto and Ryohei and literally everyone else; Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if he was a PE instructor or decides to be a kinesiology/athletics/nutrition related instructor at some point, he's got time...

Lal doesn't feel as much obligation towards watching over Tsuna & co. anymore at this point, but she gives them shit about their studies sometimes whenever they do see her; Duuuude maybe Colonnello's a prof somewhere and she's the mysterious hot person that visits him during his breaks a little too often and the students are definitely speculating LOL (ColoLal is literally the "prof who overshares" and "brick wall prof" ship dynamic and I love them for it)

Skull is pretty involved with Enma and the Simon bbies in uni!! He goes to any of their sporting events or extracurriculars that they want him to witness bahahaha; Aside from that though, university was never his thing..

That is the face of an evil evil business major idc; Something like international business or dareisay a double major into political science as well..

He's so intimidating but also like tall and handsome and such a head turner when he struts around campus; He dresses well and he knows it, always experimenting with fashion and is the definition of hottie walking to his next class in a timely manner, with his expensive ass fair trade organic small batch coffee in hand

Would probably be a frat boy at some point in his college career, he's terrifying and notorious for being brutal with incoming members (hazing isn't fun, y'all); He thinks it's all in good fun though hmmmm.. evil

He somehow has so much time it's like he has infinite time he's that friend that's taking all these classes and balancing work and clubs and socializing, nobody knows how he does it; He's secretly running on basically no sleep, just pure survival instinct

He's in a lot of clubs, his favorite is the costume making or fashion club, he's not the best with sewing, but he loves the people there and they love him as well; He's their bestie and model of choice and he has a good eye for design

He has a creative knack and it's his destressing outlet but he tends to ignore it, why are youuu doing polisci of all things, hardass :\

Literally why would Mammon be in university it's expensive???

In the case that higher education is not exorbitantly priced and Mammon is attending such an institution..

They literally have purple hair and pronouns BAHAHAH They're absolutely styling on everyone in class all the time, but in a dark brooding and emo way

Says the bare minimum and does just what they need to pass their classes, spare time is spent grinding their side hustles for moneyyy

They're pretty quiet and generally keep to themselves, but won't hesitate to speak to people when spoken to or interacted with

Mammon studies econ or something like that because eughh money money money, but they also have a soft spot for studying certain animals

They got closer to Reborn because they were in the same herpetology course, and had some heated debates over whether the frog or the lizard was superior; They study together sometimes, people think they're dating but they're literally just two hot people sitting next to each other reading up on caecilian life cycles

Mammon definitely has kind of a weird room, with pink lights set up for exotic plants they got really into taking care of at some point, some frogs in a tank somewhere, it's also quite dim in there for no good reason

♡ Colonnello

Gym rat

University is but an extra expensive gym membership to him

He's the type to bring coffee or snacks in to a friend's class, sneaking in through the back with that stupid little grin

Yeah, he knows the effect he has on people, his eyes pierce through hearts brooo it's insane

People assume he's involved with Lal and kind of back off, they probably founded a little paintballing club and a majority of their initial recruitments were just people who thought they were hot and came up to them

He studies something super niche like kinesthetics or whatever goes into physical therapy; He's fascinated by the works of the body and actually is so sweet for wanting to use his experience to help others live their best lives

He volunteers at the raptor center because I said so and that's where he met his best bird friend Falco; He also goes birdwatching at the crack ass of dawn, the perfect time for him to start his morning run before going to the gym or something ashdhsjdf idk how people do this shit broe

Him and Reborn have friend groups that somehow merged and they hated each other's guts since the moment they met each other, they probably fought at some point idk and then became like rival besties LOL the kind where they compete with each other in a not so serious way to keep themselves motivated

Reborn admittedly loves paintballing with him <3

♡ Lal Mirch

Not a gym rat

Either has a double major or minor in women's studies, she's too much of a baddie to not; She's a physics/engineering student though, if not something else hot and sexy like biochem or chemeng...

A substantial number of people in her classes have the hots for her because of the skewed sex ratio in stem especially engineering college life Lal is the hottest bitch on campus

She's got blue light glasses (nerd) and usually shows up to class right on time with sweatpants and a tank top, maybe a zip-up hoodie (my bets are that it's Colonnello's hehe) if there's a breeze outside

She's probably yet another busybody that somehow has time for everything; College level volleyball or softball, probably, and probably some internships on top of her classes

Lal gets along surprisingly well with Mammon, they both begrudgingly respect each other's interest in insects

She definitely started getting tattoos in her college years, she wasn't allowed to even think of them before that, but she knew that once she got out into the world on her own she would adorn herself with so much wearable art

She's got mad rbf to the point where other students are intimidated to even speak to her, sometimes even intimidating to instructors

She's usually in a neutral or even decent mood though, she's quite blunt and straightforward with things, but she's so kind and helpful to anyone who dares to ask her for help

♡ Skull

Why is he even here he doesn't know why he's here

He's here because there are hot girls on campus who look at him when he pulls up on his motorcycle, that is all

Imagine his surprise when he realizes he has to do work to stay in uni, not just hang out and be hot and get girls

College was his peak and his prime for getting his hair cut and dyed spontaneously, getting a million new piercings, etc.; A good amount of these body modifications are done with friends or by friends

He's punk af and loves going to yard shows, maybe house parties

Frat people love him because he has the most insane party tricks, being basically invincible

I like imagining that Colonnello and Skull have lived together at some point and Colonnello has a stockpile of energy drinks; Skull makes great use of that stockpile as well when he's furiously guzzling those electrolytes the morning after to fight off his hangovers (oh Skull my dear it doesn’t work that way lol)

His handwriting is so messy yo whenever he bothers to actually take notes, he'll look back on them and he isn't even 100% sure what he wrote orz

This man cannot cook for his life and became the errand boy just getting groceries for the house so that his dear roommates can make dinner LOL He doesn't mind though :)

These are in no particular order, just whatever comes to mind! I'll try to keep somewhat of a timeline in the beginning, but a fully-fleshed out, AO3 fanfic style timeline is a whole post by itself. (I'll gladly type that out too if you think you'll enjoy it 🥴) Creds to my friend for helping me out with some of this!!!

RANDOM HEADCANONS ;

*Short and sweet, no particular order.

• They both love My Chemical Romance; Jiro's favorite album is Danger Days and Jyushi's is Welcome To The Black Parade. (another shoutout to my MCR fans.)

• Jiro plays MCR songs on his guitar for Jyushi to cheer him up.

• Jiro tried to teach Jyushi to play soccer, but he cried went he got mud on his boots and Jiro decided it would be better if Jyushi just watched instead.

• They read Junji Itō together on rainy days, usually accompanied by a blanket and tea that Ichiro made for them.

• They both have AO3 & Wattpad accounts for the sake of reading all the horrible fanfictions and giggling over them.

• Despite really enjoying each other's company, they still bicker like they did when they fake dated.

• Ichiro is proud of his brother for finally finding someone who he can spend time wish, while Kuko is completely disgusted by the fact Jyushi has a date. ( /lh ) Parents.

• Jiro once texted Ichiro, verbatim, "Can u tell your boyfriend's emo friend to text me back" and Ichiro left him on read.

• They once went on a double date with Ichiro and Kuko and I'm sure everyone can imagine how horrible and awkward that turned out.

• They are avid Guitar Hero and Dance Dance Revolution players and usually have competitions to see who can score higher.

• Jyushi gave Jiro a wolf stuffed animal to match with Amanda and Jiro falls asleep with it in arms reach every night.

• Jyushi is a vegetarian and Jiro always remembers to get him something meat-free when they go out to eat.

TIMELINE HEADCANONS ;

• Jiro and Jyushi originally didn't like each other very much; Jiro thought Jyushi might be as stuck-up as everyone says he was, and Jyushi assumed that Jiro thought that. They didn't avoid one another, but they definitely didn't go out of their ways to interact.

• They were in a fake relationship for a few weeks, just because they were tired of being teased for constantly being alone. It happened at a high school dance, when Jiro went to sit on the bleachers and saw Jyushi sitting there too. He decided to sit next to him and it caused them to bicker back and forth for a while, then it dissolved into them devising a plan to "fake date". (If y'all want that extended timeline post...)

cont. : When they were around other people, like walking down the hallway, they would very begrudgingly hold hands. Jiro comments about how cold Jyushi's hands are and Jyushi snaps back with something like, "Well, your hands are clammy- s-so. . . Shut up!" This would inevitably lead to them bickering, shushing each other, smiling awkwardly at the people around them, shared glare, and repeat.

• They only really started to like each other's company when they realized that they had none in common than they thought. In canon, Jiro loves manga and Jyushi likes alternative fashion (visual kei), so naturally one of the things they had in common was owning Junji Itō mangas. They also share similar music taste, My Chemical Romance being the main one. ;)) This was found out when Jyushi went to Jiro's place for the first time. It was necessarily planned, but in a moment of worry they made plans to hang out within earshot of the other students. Jyushi didn't really pick up on the fact it was just a show and showed up at Jiro's place later that day.

• Their first official date happened partly because they realized they may actually have feelings for one another, and because the questions about how long they'd been together, how many dates they'd been on, how they met from their classmates became unavoidable. Since both of them are pretty terrible liars, they decided the only way to get out of this was an actual date. . . Were they lowkey flirting then? Absolutely.

• Because they're both teenagers with not much in the way of an income other than their rap groups, their first date was at a foodcart. The place was too crowded and loud for Jyushi's liking, and Jiro being the natural gentleman he is offered to buy their meals so Jyushi could get away from the noise.

cont. // slight writing bonus : Jyushi sits on a stairway away from the foodcarts, looking at the bright lights of the Shinjuku division. It doesn't take long for Jiro to return with their food--burgers. Jiro digs around in the paper bag containing their food awkwardly for a moment before pulling one out and handing it to Jyushi.

Jyushi hesitates as well, but eventually takes it from Jiro, who only then sits down next to him on the stairwell. He sits closer than Jyushi would have expected. Jyushi huffes, pulling back the wrapping of the burger, he turns to Jiro with a slightly annoyed expression, opening his mouth to speak;

"You know, I'm vegetarian. . . -"

"I know. It-it's a veggie burger."

Jyushi closes his mouth again and a small blush creeps over his face. His and Jiro's eyes meet for a moment,

"Oh. . . Well, thank you. . ."

and then he looks away before taking a quick bite of the burger in order to hide his face.

It seemed silly. . . though, no one had ever been that observant or caring toward him.

The way tumblr depicts the Batfamily and how wrong it is.

In this post I will do a big comparison of how the Batfamily (mostly the male part) is depicted in the tumblr community. I am not trying to insult anyone. Many of these are also DC’s fault and their inconsistency. (+ a P.S)

Batman

How tumblr sees him: 

THE BEST DAD, adopting machine, always has time for his kids!!! always understand his kids! IS never mad at his kids and never hits them or something like that!! Over all the best dad!!

How he is in the comics (mostly depending on the writer):

Neglecting his children, snapping at them, doesn’t do well with parenting, because.. he had no parents after the age of 10. Tries to do well with them, but still does major mistakes. He doesn’t always understand “his” kids and does big mistakes - like hitting Jason for e.g. Generally doesn’t understand a lot of things. 

 Nightwing (KINDA LONG ONE):

How tumblr sees him: 

Ray of sunshine! Happy-go-lucky, hyperactive mom!! He loves being sexy! Likes to be complimented on his ass!! !!Very social!!! Womanizer!!!! Always really positive!! thiccer than a sniccer

How he is in the comics:

In the comics even if yes - he is not as dark as Batman on the outside and talk a bit more than him, he is not a “mom” type of character that the tumblr community portrays him as. Actually he has pretty negative thoughts and doubts himsels and his decisions. HE DOESN’T LIKE TO BE SEXUALIZED OR TO BE COMPLIMENTED ABOUT HIS ASS. EVEN  FROM COMICS IN THE 80-90S HE SAID HE DOESN’T LIKE ATTENTION. 

  DICK IS NOT THICKER/BIGGER THAN JASON AND NEVER WAS. Idk why in recent years people (also comics artists) portray Dick as someone who is very VERY muscular, bulky and even bigger than Jason (many times!). Yes he is fit, but he is not thicc kind of fit. Even if Richard had many relationships he actually is unsure when he is in one, he doesn’t always know what to do and he definitely is not the type of a “womanizer”. DICK IS NOT A RAY OF SUNSHINE. Actually he has some type of social anxiety (when overbeared with his role of a leader and his job he watched channels/shows in which there are no humans, i feel like it’s obvious why.) RICHARD TAKES HIS VIGILANTE JOB SERIOUSLY, TO THE POINT HE IS WORKCHOLIC AND CAN SEVERLEY INSULT PEOPLE. When Barbara told him he needs to rest and not concentrate so much on his vigilante life he literally told her that she needs to shut up and that he regrets installing elevator in the building (SHE WAS IN WHEELCHAIR.) Almost all of the fandom in tumblr forgets that DICK HAS FLAWS and is extremely flawed and negative many times, because of his job as vigilante.

Red Hood (Jason Todd): 

How tumblr sees him:

ThE BAD BOY OF THE FAMILY, never got through his emo phrase, MCR fan, very not violent, aha. 

How he is in the comics(written very inconsistently, many times one dimensional, please let me write him):

(yes he is NOT a heartless murderer, this is why he is an anti-hero, but he is still pretty violent)

At first a boy with severe temper problems, extremely violent, doesn’t think about conequences, always puts himself in danger,l because of his stupidity and naiveness (hence way he experienced such way of dying). (also feels constantly compared to Dick, which didn’t help him. LIKE CONSTATLY COMPARED TO DICK.)

 After being revived he started having SEVERE MENTAL PROBLEMS, not only his mind didn’t heal properly, but it left him with really, really bad problems. He is SUICIDAL, HE HAS DEPRESSION. He actually has severe mental health problems that he tries to fight off, but no one here is saying a thing about how suicidal Jason actually is. The person that helped him the most is Roy Harper, that actually had his own problems (drug addiction having a baby by a super villain, clones, that baby dying, losing an arm and the list goes on. (depending on the comics you read). 

Generally Jason is fucked up. I like his version in the RH and the outlaws, but he will always have mental problems and I think the fandom should talk about his broken side way more than his bad boy one. 

Red Robin (Tim Drake:

How tumblr sees him: 

LOVES COFFE, nerd aha, sassy af., very talkative, annoyed by everything LOL (I generally see this three as his main personality traits)

How he is in the comics:

Indeed a nerdy type of character, but he constantly tries to prove himself. (Imagine being an adoptive child to someome who recently lost their child in horrendous way and another one that left you because it wanted freedom, you would definitely want to prove your worth to Batman). Unlike Jason or Dick he is not very talkative, Tim is introverted and not confident, extremely socially awkward. Constantly doubting whether or not he is good enough (rarely seeing this to be talked about in the fandom). He is (un)arguably the best detective out of the all Robins. HE DOESN’T EVEN LIKE COFFEE, BUT PREFERS TEA. In old issues he is always seen with a CUP OF TEA in hand, rather than coffee. I feel like the fandom thought that when workacholic he is instantly in love with coffee, but this isn’t more far from the truth. 

Robin ( DAMIAN WAYNE):

How tumblr sees him:

VERY ANGRYYY, ball of angryness, wants to cut off everything with his katana, wants to kill everyone,aha. ANNOYING AF. 

How he is in the comics:

A character that actually has redeeming qualities, feeling other emotions aside from angry-ness, doesn’t literally want to cut everything with katana. Indeed having issues and being portrayed differently by comics artists, leaving him one dimensional sometimes or doing too irrational things. His ignorance is bred by Thalia, raising him with the thought  of being “the heir of Batman/Bruce Wayne”. He actually needs help, a parent figure that can understand where his issues are and make him realise that. He is extremely flawed, but is a child, that needs  a real parenting. 

Alfred Pennyworth:

y’all forget that he is the one and only true parent figure of the family, he is not just there to be wise - but to remind all of them that they are humans and need to R E S T. That the things they do are actually not right. He is the true parent figure of all family members - especially Bruce.

Duke Thomas:

constantly forgetting he exists and it’s sad

Barbara Gordon: 

many of y’all see her only for her role as a love interest of Dick, it’s sad.

Stephanie and Cassandra:

sometimes y’all include them

sometimes y'all don’t

very inconsistent of the way they are portrayed.

deserve more fanarts

Cassandra is not some badass that doesn’t talk - she can’t talk and desperately tries to learn.

Stephanie is way more than a nerd.

P.S - I have nothing against fanons and headcanons, but such topic should occassionally be brought up so new fans don’t get wrong idea of how the characters are in the comics! Sometimes we should remind ourselves that in the typical DC universe matter the characters we love are darker than we portray them, but I support creativity in every way! Do your thing! :)

What an hard question anon, oh my god haha as far as I’m concerned dgm has always been and always will be Good™ (it is my favorite manga, after all), but I’ll give you that the anime can get boring fast - it’s slow and more filler than actual story as far as the first season goes, and for my tastes poorly adapted and too heavy for the second. If you try out the manga, though, stuff really does happen fast and arcs follow each other mostly without a break, you can’t really call it slow at all lol

Since I’ve watched the first season about a decade ago I can’t really remember at which point I decided I’d sell my soul to it, probably when Lavi first appeared lbr, but if I had to give an objective answer to when it gets properly into the story I’d say when the Noahs are introduced for the first time (with Road and the Rewinding Town arc, which is... volume 3) ((it also happens to be around when Lavi makes his first appearance a+ coincidence you might nearly say he’s the heart of the story *wiggle eyebrows* get it? nah you probably don’t ignore me))

As far as talking about Allen and Lavi goes, I have no clue where to start and I don’t know how long it’d take for me to get through it all, oh man! They’re two of the most amazing characters I’ve ever read about, deep and complex and heavily layered - the type of characters that you can easily fit into a stereotype the first time you see them, but the more you learn about them the more you realize it’s not that simple at all. Because that simple and easy facade they show is part of them, but they’re at the same time its exact opposite as well, and they have sad pasts and sad presents and probably sad futures too, but you still see them standing tall and forcing a smile and joking and laughing and being so so so so strong it makes my heart clench just thinking about it - it’s hard to talk about them when I don’t know how much you know and how much it’s spoiler, but they’re... they’re kind of everything to me. How do you even explain someone that all-encompassing in just a few words?

In my experience there are two schools of thought:

1) People that like Talia and choose to use the older version of canon, where Bruce and Talia were in love and the rape never happened

2) People that hate Talia

As always, I’d prefer not to say which side I come down on, and I won’t answer any personal questions related to Talia. It’s a bit of a hot button topic, and I prefer to avoid conflict. Thank you. Let’s continue.

Here’s the thing, anon-- Damian was created by a writer named Grant Morrison in 2006. Before that, there was a storyline where Bruce and Talia had a baby, and she gave him up for adoption without telling him. Historically, Bruce and Talia’s relationship has been pretty straightforward: they liked each other, and any romantic interactions were consensual. 

Morrison changed that. I can’t say for certain why, but you can read a bit more about my opinion of him over here. In Morrison’s version, Damian was conceived by rape, for eugenic purposes; they were trying to create the ideal heir from al Ghul and Wayne DNA.

Talia drugged Bruce’s drink, and yes, that is absolutely rape. No doubt about it. Rape. It’s disgusting and unnecessary, and it doesn’t really make sense, considering the thirty-five years of material that came before Morrison’s Talia. 

Because of that, it’s a divisive topic. There are a lot of people who argue that since Talia’s actions were out of character for her (and since Morrison went on to make her do other out of character things, like murdering her own son) the rape should be removed from canon. Those folks generally substitute the older storyline where Bruce and Talia were in love. 

That kind of thinking really isn't that uncommon for comic fans because the way comic canon is constructed-- multiple writers with varying skill levels who frequently produce overlapping or contradictory accounts of the same events-- presents us with multiple versions to choose from. A small and unrelated example: in his original version, Tim Drake dropped out of high school before graduation. In the n52, he graduated early. I prefer the older version, so even when I read the n52, I think of Tim as a high school drop out.

There are also canon story lines that I just don’t acknowledge, Battle for the Cowl being the easiest example. I know that the characterization is awful, so I pretend it never happened.

Morrison dramatically changed who Talia is as a character, not just at that specific point, but continually from 2006 to 2013. Since he retired, Talia has been shifting back to her older incarnation (again, see the link from above). You’re going to find a lot of folks who are happy with that, and those are likely to be the same people that edit the rape out of Talia’s history. 

You’re also going to find folks on the other side of the issue-- people that acknowledge the rape and believe that it would be wrong to edit it out of history. Morrison’s Talia, while mischaracterized, has been around for a long time with some very dramatic effects. Damian’s redemption storyline, death, resurrection, and general personality all depend on Talia’s action while Morrison was writing her-- if you choose to ignore all of that, Damian as we know him can’t exist, and he’s been a giant part of the general bat canon for the last eleven years. 

Beyond that, rape and filicide are awful, horrifying crimes, and they both happened within Talia’s canon. They’re the current version. They haven’t been retconned. As a matter of fact, Morrison isn’t the only one circulating that version-- the recent animated movies about Damian explicitly include the rape, and those began in 2014. 

You also made an excellent point when you asked about gender-- male rape victims are treated incredibly poorly in fiction and life, and I think it’s fair to argue that ignoring Bruce’s canonical rape contributes to that. Bruce isn’t the only member of the batfamily with this issue either. Dick was raped by Tarantula in 2002 (he asked her not to touch him, he was in shock and immobile, and she had sex with him anyway), and that writer (Devon Grayson) didn’t even call it rape. Would the rape of either of those men be treated differently if they were women? I don’t know. I can’t really answer a hypothetical. But it’s worth thinking about.

When it comes to Talia, I’d say my experience with general opinion has been about a 50/50 split? That being said, I am very young, and I’ve only been in this game for five years. I can’t tell you how any of this went over in 2006 because I was a ten year old at the time, and I don’t think I know anyone older who could tell me.

As far as writers go... I don’t recall Bruce’s emotional state being addressed in any way. Most of the time, writers don’t directly talk about it. Some of them seem to lean towards the earlier version by framing Bruce and Talia as a love story; however, that doesn’t mean that by omitting the rape, they retcon it. People are raped by their partners or spouses all the time. Saying that Bruce loved Talia doesn’t automatically erase the rape. Implying that Bruce and Talia had consensual sex before or after Damian’s conception doesn’t automatically erase the rape. Frankly it would be very hard to retcon, since there would have to be some kind of statement within the dialogue denying any kind of drugging. 

I don’t know if any of this will ever be addressed, but I’ve written a lot more than I meant to now, so I’m going to stop. I hope I answered all your questions. If I didn’t, you could try sending me a message instead of an ask, and we can talk more about it in private
