To live in a family that all say they love you and are always happy to spend time with you knowing that if they knew you, they’d impale you on a stake, is a horrible feeling..

Advocates for Nova Scotia's transgender and non-binary communities say the state of their health care is in crisis after three specialists announced this week that they would no longer accept new patients.
Two of the specialists are endocrinologists who write letters required to qualify for gender-affirming surgery. The third is one of the only surgeons in the province who performs mastectomies and chest masculinization, commonly referred to as top surgery.
"It doesn't surprise me. We have overloaded a system that is criminally understaffed, underfunded," said Riley Nielson-Baker, a spokesperson for Gender Affirming Care Nova Scotia.
"We have a system that's in rapid collapse. And it's going to end up killing people, to put it bluntly."

International Transgender Day of Visibility!
You are seen. You are loved. You are valid.
To all my trans, non-binary, genderqueer, intersex siblings (& everyone under the trans umbrella in general!): I love you, I believe in you, you are valid wathever you feel, wathever label you use, wathever your gender is (or isn't), wathever body you have.
♡♡♡

With all the love "Nimona" is getting can we please also step back a moment?
I'm transmasc and I love this movie, I love Nimona, but I'm also so tired of having trans characters be non-human.
Making LGBT+ characters be non-human in a world of humans is only ever an issue when there are no human characters that are also LGBT+. And in "Nimona", Nimona is the only explicitly trans character we see. Yes we get some happy human gays, but the giant trans theming that is being praised is pointed and a very specifically non-human character.
I'm so happy this movie has been made and I feel so seen because of this movie. That doesn't change the fact that Nimona did not need to be non-human, or the ever popular shape shifting non-binary character which is an entirely different thing. Nimona could have just been a human with magic who happens to be trans.
I'm so tired of having allegories for my life and the lives of those around me. There is never anything better than a character just being trans and being allowed to say that and then continue with their life!
Another whole thing, and I am very unequipped to speak on this in depth, is that they made Nimona actively dangerous. Let's not lie, Nimona hurts people, a lot. And that is the biggest pitfall white writers fall into. The person they are vilifying can actively cause massive damage. This is done so often in stories that talk about any sort of bigotry and it always misses the mark.
The people being vilified are are painted as the other and/or actively dangerous in so many stories. That isn't how bigotry works. Bigotry never has its victim(s) able to destroy cities, it's always people being hateful to people who only ever look different.
The fact that Nimona is only viewed as a monster because her friend's community told her that Nimona was a monster? Absolutely amazing. But it would have been far more impactful if Nimona was actually harmless. They showed how these stories and beliefs can snowball from the tiniest things, this would have also been a perfect time to show that those fears were unfounded.
TLDR: I love Nimona it was very good but I would also love some more human trans characters being happy and can we also please stop giving the minorities in bigotry plots dangerous abilities that nobody else has and thus can use as justification?

y'know what? fuck it! shout out to all my fellow "stereotypes!"
shoutout to my fellow autists who do feel like a kid in an adult’s body because their mind works differently. shoutout to my fellow systems who have alters that lash out, and/or alters of fictives from popular media. shoutout to my fellow bpd folks who get clingy and have abandonment issues. shoutout to the autists who act "robotic" and love trains or dinosaurs. shoutout to the people with OCD/OCPD who do get obsessions with cleanliness and orderliness, who do wash their hands over and over, who do lock and unlock the doors a specific number of times. shoutout to the people struggling with intrusive thoughts that do get the violent ones and the sexual ones, not just the self-injurious ones.
shoutout to my fellow flamboyant gays. shoutout to the lesbians who wear flannel and have buzzcuts. shoutout to the aces who like space and cake and dragons. shoutout to the aces who are stoic and don't have an interest in bonding with people even non-romantically. shoutout to the nbs with neopronouns and names like "star." shoutout to the queers(or otherwise lgbt+ folk if you don't use that term for yourself) who have dyed and cut hair, wear a shitload of pronoun pins, wear a rainbow binder that can be seen, and love talking about how much they love being part of the community.
shoutout to my fellow activists who yell and get mad. shoutout to my fellow activists who bring up the problems in things, even if it means "always making it political." shoutout to the feminists who don't wear bras or shave, and don't get along with men.
shoutout to the men who struggle with emotions. shoutout to the men who love blue and camo and trucks and fixing things and sports and hunting. shoutout to the women who cry easily. shoutout to the women who take hours getting ready. shoutout to the women who love pink and shopping and shoes and cooking and taking care of kids and cleaning.
i'm very white so i'll summarize the next one: shoutout to all the BIPOC fitting into "stereotypes" as well. if anyone who is BIPOC wants to give specific shout outs, go for it!
to anyone who fits these or any other "stereotypes":
You are not a stereotype. You are a person with traits and qualities. You are not doing anything wrong by being true to yourself, whether that means fitting expectations or not.
Anyone who hates whatever group you are in for these "stereotypes" would hate your group regardless; anyone who accuses you of "giving your group a bad name" is deflecting the hate onto you because it's easier to pretend that it's nothing they are doing that gets that hatred; the truth is, bigots are bigots and they will always find a "reason" to be hateful. You trying to avoid "stereotypes" will never change that.
(do not fucking clown on this post. you will not get a debate from me, you will get blocked.)
