I can read a 500 page book or 100k word fanfiction in one sitting, but the moment I have to do a required reading for uni I suddenly don't know how to read

“The snow seemed like a dirty bandage hiding the open wounds of the city, hiding those irregular gashes of haphazard streets and tortuous alleys, courtyards and occasional plots of bare ground, that form the only beauty to be found in the panorama of our cities.”

“Standing up meant that I had to start by sitting down and searching within. The most effective fight for my future had to begin inside my own mind.”

Every so often I like to read a 400 page book in a day. Just to make sure I still got it

"I wanted to go on sitting there, not talking, not listening to the others, keeping the moment precious for all time, because we were peaceful all of us, we were content and drowsy even as the bee who droned above our heads. In a little while it would be different, there would come tomorrow, and the next day, and another year. And we would be changed perhaps, never sitting quite like this again. Some of us would go away, or suffer, or die, the future stretched away in front of us, unknown, unseen, not perhaps what we wanted, not perhaps what we planned."
-Daphne Du Maurier, Rebecca, pg. 122

The perfect day.
My current read, I’m only half way through this book but I love it. It is a sad story of two broken people who are injured from two differing incidents yet find a way to fall in love with each other behind the hospital curtain.
Sort of reminds me of the Fault in our Stars (although completely different circumstances), we all remember how big this book was especially in the tumblr community.
