Shout out to the Sugeon in The Sea Beast (2022) -who was so insignificant that he didn't even have a name, had 5 minutes of screentime & maybe 3-4 lines, & he doesn't even have a single picture of him that I can find.- gotta be one genders & characters.

PLS I BEG YOU CAN YOU DO LIKE THE READER (F!MC IF POSSIBLE) DANCING IN A BALLROOM TO
https://youtu.be/no7DZe2JXQY?si=YcjMhFkk5TobsYRn
THIS. WITH MALLEUS AND LEONA AND IDIA ANY CHARACTER YOU LIKE
I'VE BEEN LISTENING TO IT AND I'M VERY HIGH ON THAT VID I'M CRYING BDHDHDHDVDH
BALLROOM ENDEAVORS
Featuring: Leona Kingscholar, Idia Shroud and Malleus Draconia
Plot: When he finally plucks up the courage to ask you to dance, you accept and make the night much better than it originally was
Cw:She/they prefect, unestablished romantic relationship, Leona x reader, idia x reader, mallues x reader (all separate)
A/N: I CNA FINALLT JUMP
LEONA KINGSCHOLAR:
Leona grumbled as he adjusted his bow tie, holding a flute of champagne in the other hand. Leona had asked the prefect to be his date to a royal ball that his elder brother was hosting to show off the growing prosperity of Sunset Savanna. Leona was obligated to go as he was still a royal prince and needed to make sure that his reputation was still in tact afterwards.
Leona had asked the prefect, a close friend of his, to join him at the ball so that he would at least have someone he recognized there and to make sure that his brother would stop pestering hum about arranged marriage for atheist one night.
The lion beastman had insited that the prefect should go on ahead without him and socialize a bit for a while. He watched the prefect as they conversed with a cheetah beastman noble fluidly. Leona felt a pang of pride ring through his chest at the thought that he was the one who taught them how to speak in such a way.
Slowly, Leona's brother came up from behind him and placed a gentle hand on his shoulder. Leona whipped his head to look at him in surprise.
"I've seen the way you've been looking at them all night Leona. Why don't you go ahead and ask them to dance."
Leona grumbled at his brother's words on distaste.
"Okay, come on, listen. I'll ask the musicians to play a slow song for you, okay? So go and dance with them!" The king persisted.
Leona gave in and shoved his half empty champagne flute into his brother's hands and stomped over to where the prefect was.
When he arrived by their side, Leona gently tugged on their shoulder to make them face his way. He gave a strained smile at the prefect's company and then made up an excuse to get them away from the other man.
Gently, the lion beastman tugged them onto the dance floor and gently held her waist as the music played. Throughout the dance, the prefect would stumble, accidently step on Leona's toes and would apologise relentlessly whenever they messed up.
Once Leona felt tired enough from her blabbering, he leaned in and gave her a soft peck on her nose. He smiled light heartedly and said in a gentle tone, "Don't worry about what the other stuffy nobles have to say. You're dancing with me, so keep your attention on me."
IDIA SHROUD:
Idia stood in the far corner of the ball room, swearing large bullets of sweat from the sheer nervousness he was currently feeling.
His date, the ever so amazing Ramshackle dorm prefect, was stood right next to him as to try and keep him company. Needless to say, he was extremely touched and grateful at her kindness.
Idia's parents were thrilled to finally meet one of their son's friends, knowing how judgemental and normie repulsed he was. So safe to say that the prefect had completely won the boy's parents.
A song in the ballroom started, and the prefect's head was knocked up by the sound. Idia noticed this and said in a soft tone, "You can go dance if you'd like..."
The prefect looked at him and then at the floor. "Nah, it's all good. I don't want to leave and make you even more uncomfortable than you already are."
Idia looked at them for a hot second before gently grabbing their wrist and pulling them to the centre of the ballroom.
The prefect panicked, looking at their friend for answers.
"I've recently made a vr dancing simulation. It would be worth it if I had some hands on references for new levels."
That was absolute bullshit.
But the prefect smiled heartedly anyways.
MALLEUS DRACONIA:
The fae prince had invited his ramshackle friend to ball that was held to celebrate his birthday. Malleus was being swamped by other fae nobles for the majority of the night.
Once he was able to escape the herd of people following his every move (including Sebek), he was crept outside to the gardens to take a look at the gargoyles that he had come to love when he was very little.
There he was his friend sitting on a white bench with a thin, wrapped parcel in their lap. They were looking up at a gargoyle that Malleus had showed them before the party had started.
The prince sat next to them and smiled at them kindly.
"Are you not cold child of man?"
The prefect looked at him with a tired smile.
"Yeah I am. Forgot to bring my jacket."
With that, Malleus pulled his jacket off his shoulders and draped it over the prefect's shoulders. Immediately, it seemed as if she melted into the warmth.
Loud music could still be heard from inside. When a new song came on, the prefect commented on how this was their faviroute song.
Malleus immediately stood up and gently lead them a bit farther away from the bench.
"Did you know that this song narrates the love story of a troubled romance that had ended with a marriage proposal?" Malleus stated as he twirled the prefect around.
The prefect giggled a, "No I did not."
Mallues smiled at their laugh, it was definitely intoxicating.
The prefect and Malleus seemed to be in almost perfect sync. Each step Malleus would take, the prefect followed suite. Each twirl and spin they did made the two of them miss and wonder what expression they had.
By the end of the song, the prefect was out of breath from dancing for such a long time and Malleus was smiling like a love stricken teenager.

Hey. Uh, I hope it’s alright if I ask for Adam x GN!Reader? I know he’s not on your characters I’ll write for list but he’s also not crossed out, so
Anyway, could I get a fic of Adam and reader just spending the night together? The only thing I’ll specify is that they live seperately, so either reader or Adam visited each other. And they fall asleep in each other’s arms at the end
Thank you. Hope you have fun writing this one :]
Adam x reader : 'Sleepover Shenanigans'
A/N Yeah, if a character isn't listed I'll write them as long as they aren't in the 'I won't write' section 🙏
I imagine they're watching an Adam Sandler movie even tho that logically doesn't make sense (those would not go to heaven)/hj
CW: SFW, gn!reader, romantic? Ish could be read as either or, reader is also an angel (not an exorcist tho, a winner), fluff with a hint of underlying angst
Tumblr media
You sat down waiting for Adam to come back into the loungeroom, laying back into the plush sofa and passively listening to the sound of him cheering as whatever he was making in the kitchen clearly was a success.
You snickered lightly at the sound of him clattering around and quietly talking to himself the whole way, saying things you couldn't quite hear properly.
Although as an angel Adam shouldn't have been working overtime, he sure had been.
He'd barely swung into your workplace to talk shit like he usually did about everything and everyone to you for the past fortnight.
Although most other winners would be absolutely thrilled that they didn't have to deal with Adam, you didn't feel the same.
He was an asshole, sure. Loud, obnoxious, and overly hard-headed at times, but it was entertaining as hell ironically being around him.
So, needless to say, when he'd ended up inviting you back to his place to hang out after finally coming to your store again as an apology for 'probably bumming you out because it was so boring without him', you'd of course said yes.
You looked up as Adam walked through the doorway finally, holding a giant bowl of nachos and chewing loudly while giving you a thumbs up as he put the bowl on the table.
He clicked his fingers, pointing finger guns at you with a grin. "Let's get this shit on the road." You nodded, scooting to the side a bit as he sat down next to you.
Adam slung his arm lazily over the back of the lounge where you sat back, one of his wings' feathers grazing your arm softly where it was folded at his side.
Through the whole movie, Adam and you just talked about how bad the movie was as it was playing, making jokes and snickering.
It turned out that Adam's taste lay in b grade comedy movies that were so bad in plot it was funnier than the actual comedy within.
The constant unending running commentary from Adam, however, slowed down and, almost by the end of the film, had stopped completely.
You'd hardly noticed that Adam had been leaning up against you more and more as the movie progressed, the arm around the back of the lounge coming to actually wrap around the back of your neck as he pressed his cheek against your shoulder.
Something stupid happened on screen, and you snorted. "What the actual hell was-" You stopped as you turned to Adam, seeing that he was now dead asleep.
Apparently, the overtime had caught up with him. You hadn't much noticed the bags under his eyes when he'd taken off his mask upon greeting you, but you could see them now on his peacefully sleeping face.
You yawned as you turned to look back at the still playing movie, tears beading at the corners of your eyes. Your own sleepiness you'd been shrugging off had hit into you as if brought on seeing him passed out next to you.
It was pretty late.
You figured it would be best if you turned off the movie and got to the hastily set up space on the other lounge you had dubbed as the spot you were sleeping tonight after getting here. Although where you were was comfortable now, it absolutely would not be by the morning.
You picked up the remote from beside Adam, carefully moving to pull yourself out of his grasp in an attempt to not wake him up - only to promptly be pulled even closer to him.
Adam mumbled nonsense in his sleep, pressing his face into your neck before settling again.
Huh.
You hummed as you once again moved to remove the first man from around you, this time watching said man's yellow eyes crack open tiredly.
"Don't... go. Just stay here.. with.." He mumbled, still obviously half asleep. There was something somewhat sad in his tone as he said it. Something you had never really heard before.
You didn't get a chance to really think about it as you were picked up and then pressed against Adam, laying on top of his chest as he laid back across the lounge.
Strong arms wrapped around you tightly, barring you from leaving as he quickly fell back to sleep under you, all too comforted by your weight on top of him.
You slowly relaxed against him as you realised you weren't getting up again. Not that you much cared to move. He was actually extremely comfortable to lay on.
You pressed your cheek up against his chest, ear above his steadily beating heart, closing your eyes and allowing it to lull you to sleep.
You heard the sound of his wings coming to wrap around you as well, the softness of his golden feathers tickling your skin and adding an extra layer of warmth to the embrace encapsulating you.
He'd surely play it off as you wanting to cuddle him tomorrow, but that didn't much bother you as you drifted off, feeling much more secure and safe than you usually did.
Tumblr media
This had me thinking a lot more about Adam than I have been, and it's probably enough to make a whole headcanon post for him tbh.
I am also SO sorry for how long it's been taking for me to get to stuff bruh, life has been putting me through the ringer a bit lately/lh

i feel overwhelmed by this anime tbh someone save me , i might just skip to the second season since i've already seen the first one back when it first came out but lowkey forgor everything😵

He's talking to her with that smile on his face again. You really shouldn't be bothered by this anyway, so why do you keep staring? You know how this story ends for you anyways.
You quickly turned around, not wanting to invade upon Satoru's buisness any further. You weren't outright bothering him, but you have a feeling he wouldn't enjoy you staring at him from behind the corner like some stalker. Not when he has better things to be looking at.
You've been married to Gojo Satoru for exactly 3 months now. It was a marriage born of neccessity, pure interest to stop marriage pressure from your families. Atleast on his side, it was. He made that clear during the marriage proposal.
"Well, I'm mostly just doing this so mom stops nagging me about finding a wife already. I'm sure the same applies to you."
Those words have been replaying in your head for a while now. You've known Satoru only for about a year at that point, and even then it was mostly through social events you attended that he also happened to be attending.
So needless to say, it was simulaneously a complete surprise and completely expected when he suddenly gave your family a surprise visit to offer his hand in marriage.
You knew there was zero romantic feelings involved from the very beginning, so you know you shouldn't be surprised if Satoru wants to leave you for Lady Ichikawa, the girl he talks to almost every day. But your heart can't help but clench at the sight, and you wish Satoru could...
Nevermind.
You should be attending to your duties anyways.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You sighed, practically collapsing on your bed. Finance is not fun, to say the least. Being the Lady of the house is a suprisingly tiring job, and definitely gives you more respect for your mother.
The servants had already helped you change into your night gown, and you were perfectly ready to hit the hay right now.
As the servant put out the lights in the chandelier, you thought about Satoru again. The guy is an annoyingly persistent thought in the back of your head, that's for sure.
You haven't even talked in a week.
Sure, the two of you tend to get busy, but this essentially just proves to you what kind of marriage this is. If he did care about you, he would've checked up on you atleast once, wouldn't he..? You don't have a right to complain about it anyways, since you were the one who agreed to the marriage in the end. You should be grateful you even had a say in it.
As the servant closed the door behind you, you clutched the pillow in your hand. Maybe if you keep being useful, he won't discard you. You've only been thinking of yourself up until now. You just now realise that if he leaves you for Lady Ichikawa, you'll lose your family face.
This is shaping up to be a nightmare.
Suddenly, you hear a knock on the door. "Oiiii, can I come iiiin?"
Well, speak of the devil. You would recognise that voice anywhere. "Sure, come in." you said so, but did you want to face him right now? You felt conflicted, both really happy and really nervous.
As the door opened, you turned your head, his silhouette, illuminated by the lights in the doorway coming into view. "Man, it's dark in here. You're going to sleep so early?" he said casually as he turned on the oil lamp on your table.
You only nodded in response, looking at him with half wonder half suspicion. Why is he paying you a visit all of a sudden? "What..? Can't a husband visit his wife?" Satoru furrowed his brows, noticing your dimmly lit expression and sitting down on the edge of your bed.
"I'm happy you're here." You assured him. And you truly were.
"Right, of course you are." Satoru smirked boldly at you, but somehow, you could tell that he was relieved to hear it. He looked in front of him.
"I got you this." he said a little more quietly, handing you a book as you sat up in bed. But it wasn't just any book. "No way... how did you even get your hands on this?!" you blinked multiple times in the dim light, making sure your eyes weren't playing tricks on you.
When you realised how loud you just were, you quickly covered your mouth, and Satoru laughed at you for a bit before saying "I have my ways."
"That... doesn't answer the question. How much did this even cost?"
"...You shouldn't worry so much."
That idiot... You took another look at the book in your lap, the rare book you were trying to get your hands on for 3 years at this point. You can't help but wonder if the emergency finance work you had to do today has something to do with this.
"...Why?" you looked back up at him.
"Why what?" he flashed his usual smile at you, his white lashes fluttering as he gazed at you. This all seems... odd.
"Why did you get this for me? Why would you spend so much money on me? How did you even know I wanted this? What are you trying to do... here..." your last question died off as you saw his expression slowly shift to one of concern.
"You're... my wife? And I happen to know you want this? What kind of questions even are those, seriously." he scoffed, shaking his head.
"But... Lady Ichikawa..." why would he spend money on you when he could be putting it towards his future with Lady Ichikawa? Wait, why did you even start assuming that he'll leave you any minute to begin with? Gosh...
"Oh, her? Wait... are you jealous?" he raised his eyebrows playfully, leaning back. "Not really, I just thought that you... like her more than me." it felt strange finally admitting this to him.
"Ehhh.... She's just a friend, ya know. And I actually mean it. Why would I like her more?" Satoru looked as unaffected as ever, smiling at you. But beneath that nonchalant attitude and those shining blue eyes of his, you could feel confusion, doubt, and something else.
"You said in your proposal t-that... So I thought Lady Ichikawa..." all the turmoil that had been building up inside you for the last three months finally let loose, with you trying your best to speak through your tears. Isn't this pathetic?
"Shhh, I know what I said back then. But now that I actually have you, I dunno anymore. I wanna try out this whole love thing." Satoru moved up on the bed, moving over to your side and gently petting your head.
"In other words, you can stop crying now. Because I'm not letting you go anytime soon."
Tumblr media
i dont like this one all that much I'll be real, but then again when do I ever ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Can i request a one shot Monkey king x fem!reader
But the two hate each other at first, the reader is kind of a neat freak and is totally opposite from Wukong, but then they both develop feelings?
Thank you <3
cleaning conflicts
— wukong x fem!reader

i'm not sure if i really nailed the requests plot,, its less 'opposites' and more just plain ol' enemies. This is kind of bad, but i hope you like it, anyways!!
also—if you've got a depression room, i am not shitting on you in anyway (because i currently live in a room where i cannot see the floor), i'm just overdramatising it for the plot ^^
;; romantic, enemies to lovers, fluff.

You held tightly onto the claws gripping your shoulders. The wind pushed harshly against your opposing force, whipping your hair behind you as you sputtered to keep strands of it out of your mouth.
Unable to open your eyes wider than a squint, you narrowed your eyes at the colourful falcon carrying you, "MK, are we almost there? I'm not sure how much longer I can take this..."
Your voice was barely audible above the noisy gales, despite the cracking in your tone from the loud volumes you spoke at. The bird-transformed boy grinned down at you.
"You bet! In fact, Flower-Fruit Mountain is below us."
True to his words, a wary glance downwards was filled with forestry galore. A tall mountain came into view, decorated with a waterfall off the side, falling into a lake at the base. The sight of your destination brought a relieved sigh out of you.
With careful movements, MK drifted you both closer to the ground, making a safe landing adjacent to the supposed entrance to the mountain. You crouched on the ground, still gaining balance from the recent flight.
Whilst you inwardly expressed your gratitude to the sweet, sweet dirt floor, several monkeys caught an interest in your presence. They wandered over, a few stopping by MK and messing with him, as the others continued towards you. A soft smile grew on your face.
"Ah, hi, there—what're you doing, hm?" You cooed at them, reaching a hand out.
One of them latched onto your finger with two grabby hands, sniffing it slightly before lifting it onto their head. Taking the cue, you gave the monkey light scratches, cherishing the way they happily chirped at your attention.
The clearing of a throat caught your attention.
"Monkey King is probably waiting for us; c'mon, I'll let us in." MK, who had seemingly gotten the pesky monkeys off of him, offered you his hand in standing up, which you gratefully accepted.
With nervous steps, you each hopped onto each stone that lead to the waterfall across the lake, watching in awe as the younger boy led the way. The curtain of water magically gave way to him, splitting ways to refrain the successor from getting soaked; not a single drop of water hitting him.
Snapping yourself out of your wonder, you continued through as he kept the entrance open for you. Without the mystic monkey powers that he has, you weren't sure that you'd have the ability to get through at all.
As you entered, your eyes drifted along the faded murals lined along the cave walls; artistic depictions of the pilgrimage that you'd been forcefully educated on by MK's rants and Tang's 'words of wisdom'. You wished to admire them further, but a certain successor was strolling further into the mountain, and getting lost was the last thing you wanted, at the moment.
"Monkey King... Hey, Monkey King! I'm here for my lesson... And I brought a friend!" MK called out, receiving a lack of response.
"Uh... Perhaps he's... Busy?"
"It's alright, MK. He's probably—" You were cut off with a muffled sound of surprise.
A butterfly had found itself on your nose, seemingly appearing out of nowhere, as MK whipped his head around to you in concern.
After a moment of needless staring, the boy began to laugh, "M-Monkey King—get off of h-her!"
You stood in confusion at the insect that he had dubbed 'Monkey King', knowing that it was not a monkey, and nor did it look like his supposed mentor. That was, until it fluttered away from your face and began glowing.
The butterfly morphed into an array of shapes and sizes, before appearing in front of you in true form. The Monkey King wore a playful smirk, matching the mischievous glint in his eyes, his tail lashing out beside him as he stood in a cocky stance.
You instantly didn't like this guy, one bit.
"Dude, seriously? What the hell was that for?" You dangerously narrowed your eyes at the monkey.
"Hey, lighten up, buttercup! I was just playing around." He rolled his eyes, before MK promptly rushed between you two.
"Uh, hey—cut it out!" The younger boy scolded both of you, before turning towards the monkey, "So, uh, Monkey King. This is the friend I was telling you about... She's willing to help clean up with your... Uh, 'hoarding' problem."
"Ah, great! C'mon, I'll show you the place."
He led the two of you into the main living area of the mountain. Even ignoring the old furniture and decaying decorations, the place was practically trashed! Empty chip packets and dirty takeout containers were lazily thrown onto tables or floors, rotting fruit were smushed against walls, and the rambunctious monkeys roaming around the place continued their endeavours to mess with anything they could grab onto.
You paused in disgust and shock, the wafting stink, that you somehow couldn't smell earlier, now attacking your nose. Turning to the owner of it all, you frowned.
"How... How did it get this bad?" You asked, clearly disgruntled.
"Psh, I'm the Monkey King, I don't have time for cleaning!" He brushed off.
"Exactly, you're immortal! You've got all the time in the world—but I guess that you're just too lazy."
He stammered, eyebrows furrowed at your dissonance. Too lazy? Well, that wasn't exactly wrong, but you didn't have to say it like that! Who were you, to be talking to the Monkey King; Great Sage, Equal to Heaven?
MK felt panicked at the growing tension in the room and the obvious scowl on his mentors face. In a moment of pure anxiety, he stood between the two of you, separating and cutting off the strain.
"Hey-Hey! We've gotta get to that training, right, Monkey King? We can leave her to it—"
"No, it's okay, bud. You go on ahead; keep practicing those stances we've been going through, I'll catch up in a minute." The agitated glint in the Monkey King's eye dissipated all of MK's will to argue back, scurrying back the way they came.
"So, Monkey King—" You began after the young boy disappeared from your view, only to be cut off.
"Just call me 'Wukong'." He grinned at you, humour in his voice that he lacked in any other manner, an obvious facade; whether it was to keep his own calm, or to mock you, you were unsure.
"Alright, Monkey King," You practically growled at him, "So, want to help me get started? Or are you too egotistical to do such 'mortal' work?"
A grimace overtook his features as his tail continued to lash out angrily, nose twitching. He wordlessly walked past you, into the open-kitchen.
He was avoiding your stare, allowing you to judgementally wander around the area, noting the spots and stains that you'd have to work harder on cleaning. It took all but a minute for the monkey to return to you, shoving a plastic bag and a bucket holding a couple rags inside into your arms.
You simply nodded at him, refusing to give him a proper 'thanks', and turned your back. His footsteps grew faint, following the path that MK took, clearly having had enough of you and going back to their training.
You didn't mind; you were glad that Wukong and his attitude were out of your hair. Now, you could finally begin on your work of his musty living space.
It had been a couple weeks since Wukong had seen you. He couldn't lie—the mountain was the cleanest it'd been on centuries!
Every stain had been scrubbed out, the pieces of trash that littered the place had been picked up, and that putrid smell that even he was getting sick of was gone—replaced with the scent of peaches and flowers.
Another thought he couldn't lie about... Was that he missed you. At first, he believed that feeling was pure agitation from the way you spoke him; he swore that you almost brought back his truculent attitude that he'd lost after his journey to the West. And that was not a good thing.
But, since you'd retreated from Flower-Fruit Mountain with MK after his training, without any farewell, might be add, he realised this feeling was a lot more... Sad.
Yes, your gall had annoyed him to no end, but it had been so long since he'd had another person stand up to him. The last person he'd been able to banter with like that, were the pilgrims he travelled with.
Thusly, Wukong found himself with MK during his lesson, "Uh, by the way, bud... Your friend, um..."
With a raised brow, the younger boy offered your name with suspicion. Wukong clicked his fingers, acting as if he'd just remembered it, despite you having been on his mind the entire week.
"Yes, yeah! That's the one—uh, are they able to... Come back next lesson?" He forced out, hastily backing up when his mentee gave a weird expression, "B-Because! The, uh, the mountains gotten real dirty again—you know how the monkeys are, right, bud?"
His nervous laughter caught the mentioned boy off-guard. Despite his concerns at Wukong's odd behaviour, he nodded, before pausing.
"I'm not sure if she'll agree to it, though... She seemed to hold a bit of a grudge against you, I won't lie."
The mentioned monkey visibly deflated at this, before humming to himself, "That's alright, bud. Still, try asking for me, please?"
Against his better judgements, this led MK to your front door. Of course—the boy ensured that you would be alright with him turning up, he'd sent you a message earlier in the day asking whether he could drop by, or not. Thankfully, you had confirmed with him that he could.
With a swift knocking and you ushering him inside, offering refreshments, he built himself up to ask you. MK was unsure of your possible reactions to Wukong's request for you; the boy hadn't mentioned the monkey since you were last there, and he easily remembered the tension brewing between the two of you in the mere moments you spent together.
He inhaled, "Monkey King wants you to clean his mountain again next training lesson, which is tomorrow, but you totally don't have to go if you don't want to, I know how much you disliked him last tim—"
"Woah, woah! MK, calm down a little and speak slower, yeah?" You moved to place a hand on his shoulder.
"O-Oh, yeah, hah. Sorry, sorry." He took a moment to steel his nerves, "Okay, so... Monkey King. He wants you to come back to the mountain, to... Clean again, or something."
You deadpanned at him, causing a bead of sweat to run down his neck, "C'mon, he's not that bad! You two just got off on the wrong foot—and! If you really can't bear to be there, I'll take you home straight away."
You frowned at his begging, pondering the offer.
You... Could've been a lot nicer during your meeting with him. Whilst he did seem egotistical, you didn't exactly know anything else about him. Perhaps you should give him another chance..?
With a sigh, and one last glance at MK to see him pulling his best puppy-eyes on you, you agreed.
"Your next training lesson is tomorrow, correct?"
"Yes, yes! I can meet you here, but we'll need to leave around 10am. I-Is that all good with you?" The grin on the boys face was wide, and if you didn't know any better, you'd assume he'd been given a gift from the Jade Emperor himself.
You nodded in response, tossing him a thumbs up only to be met with dust particles. In his excitement, MK had rushed out the door with nothing but a farewell yelled over his shoulder. You laughed quietly to yourself at his antics.
It seemed that you would be seeing Wukong again.
...
Per his request, Wukong was greeted by the sight of not only one, but two people for his successor's lesson. His attention immediately drifted to you.
Despite your withdrawn posture, you seemed... Less peeved, than the last time he saw you. That was good! Hopefully that meant he wouldn't be bombarded with insults and sass, this time.
With hasty instructions, Wukong sent off MK to their usual training grounds, claiming that he would catch up later, once again.
This left the two of you alone as the mystic monkey anxiously led you upstairs, giving you a sense of deja vu. Although, you were glad that the place had kept its scent of the soap you had used, and not that horrid stench that had nearly choked you the first time you were here.
As you stepped into the main living-quarters, a glance throughout the area left you feeling confused, "Wukong, this... It doesn't look like anything needs cleaning?"
The mentioned demon felt his heart flutter at the use of his real name. He had nearly forgotten that he gave it to you.
Wukong shrugged, lifting a hand to nervously rub at his neck, "A-About that... Uh, how do I put this?"
As he stuttered around his words, he allowed himself to properly look into your eyes. The monkey paused, breath hitching in his throat as blood rushed to his cheeks.
In his flustered state, you took over the conversation, "Before you say anything else, I really ought to apologise for the way I acted a few weeks ago... I didn't really mean the things I said, I guess I was just... Caught in the moment?"
This snapped Wukong out of it, "No, no. Peaches, I—I should apologise too, I wasn't exactly any better."
"Then, I guess we're both sorry." You smiled at him, a sight that had Wukong's heart clenching.
The two of you were left, awkwardly facing towards each other with a tension that was, thankfully, more positive than the last. With nothing left to do, you let yourself take in Wukong's appearance without the prior dislike you had towards him.
You hadn't noticed the brightness of his eyes, shining like the golden colour that they were. This thought had you flustering a little, eyes glancing down to his lips before looking away.
Unfortunately, the monkey caught your moment of panic, smirking to himself as he gained his sense of pride back. He took a step closer to you, and slightly leaned down to peer at your face, leaving you no choice but to connect your eyes with his.
"So, peaches," You blushed further at the nickname, having been able to brush it off earlier, "Mind letting me treat you to a date?"

Basic Plot: Candy Caramello is desperate to get a job. So desperate, in fact, that she accepts a job at Big Corp Inc. working with Giants who are hundreds of feet tall. She'll have to contend with a licentious boss, an office bully, being eaten alive, and all sorts of other hazards inherent to being a tiny human in a Giant world.
Total Word Count: 96,645
Content Warning: This story is intended for mature audiences. It contains several vore scenes and explicit sexual content (both sweet romantic intimacy and non-consensual). Warnings will be posted at the beginning of chapters as needed.
(As an aside, I welcome any comments/ feedback/ criticism you may have, so don't be shy if you have something to say! :))
Chapter 1: Call to Adventure
Candy Caramello urgently needed a job. She was getting desperate. One more missing rent payment, and she’d probably be evicted and living out on the street. Her landlord was an understanding guy, but she hadn’t paid any rent in months, and she was running out of money.
Unfortunately, Candy didn’t have any marketable skills. She wasn’t the sharpest tool in the shed either. She had dropped out of high school and toiled in low-wage retail jobs for most of her working life. Candy was cute and sweet, as her name suggested, but also incompetent and clumsy. Somehow, she managed to get herself fired from every job she worked at. Her last job was at a restaurant. In the few months she worked there, she managed to mix together the bags of salt and sugar, spilled drinks and food on several customers, and broke enough plates and glasses to make a full dining set. The manager liked her for her bubbly personality, but eventually got fed up with her costly mistakes and had to let her go.
The story was similar at her other jobs too. For a short time, she had worked at a warehouse where she had to pick orders, pack them up in boxes, and sort them. She could never get the orders right. She’d always forget an item, or put an extra item in, or count the wrong number, or confuse the invoices. She’d make a mess out of the packing materials, tear up the boxes, and get her long blonde hair caught in the packing tape. A plethora of customer complaints regarding incorrect orders and hair everywhere led to termination of her employment.
Needless to say, the more jobs she got fired from, the less anyone wanted to hire her. The situation had deteriorated to the point where she was notorious, blackballed from several industries in her city. Her references all warned against hiring her to new potential employers. Candy was in trouble.
She did have one option left, but she was very hesitant to pursue it. See, Candy lived on the small side of the city, with all the other humans like her. Her city was split into two sections, the small side and the large side, which were kept strictly separate for safety reasons. The large side of the city housed the Giants, a race of people who were just like humans except hundreds of feet tall. Like most humans, Candy was scared of Giants. She had never met one personally, since she avoided crossing the barrier to the large side of the city, but in the instances where she was close by she had felt the tremors of their tremendous footsteps in the ground and seen their towering silhouettes from afar.
Of course, the TV programs and the government propaganda flyers posted all over town proclaimed that Giants were perfectly safe to humans, and the two species could effortlessly live together in harmony. The human and Giant governments had been slowly working towards integration for years, despite the resistance of the majority of the human constituents involved. The Giant parliament had appropriated millions upon millions of Big Bucks (BB), the Giant currency, to building infrastructure suitable for humans in the large sector. Despite the sizable investment, few if any humans were brave or stupid enough to venture forth to the large side. Oftentimes, those who left were never seen or heard from again.
This incontrovertible fact was a great embarrassment to the Giant government that had invested so much money into a failed project. Therefore, they decided to pass an affirmative action plan to encourage Giant businesses to hire human workers, in order to lure humans over to the large side of the city. This program was relatively new, and would grant substantial subsidies to private businesses to upgrade their offices to accommodate and employ humans. While businesses were more than happy to receive easy money from the government and spare the bare minimum expense to “upgrade,” finding humans willing to work with Giants was harder.
In their glossy advertisement campaigns, painting rosy pictures of humans and Giants happily working together, these businesses targeted naïve, impressionable humans that were desperate for work—humans like Candy. Despite her reservations, Candy was easy prey. The idea of working with Giants made her exceedingly nervous, but after filling out hundreds of job applications with no response, she decided to shoot her shot and apply—after all, she had nothing to lose. She wasn’t familiar with too many Giant businesses, but she saw a promotional campaign from an establishment called Big Corp Inc. and decided to send in her resume.
To her surprise, her phone rang within minutes. She jumped on it and answered, “H-hello?”
“Is this Candy Caramello?” a deep, rich voice on the other end of the line asked.
Candy’s breath hitched in her throat. She could tell that huge, full voice belonged to a Giant, and it was very intimidating. “Y-yes, sir.”
“Hello there, my name is Richard Hardon. I’m a manager over at Big Corp Inc. and I see you’re a human that just applied to work here. I have a few preliminary screening questions for you,” the Giant stated in a professional tone.
“O-okay,” Candy stammered.
“First question: How old are you?”
“Um... 23.”
“Okay, that’s acceptable. Second question: What’s your height and weight?”
“I’m 5’5” and 130 pounds.” Candy had never heard of anyone asking for this information on a job questionnaire, but she figured there must be a reason. Maybe Giants had different workplace practices.
“Ah, so you’re a cute little thing! Excellent! Third question: What’s your bra size?”
Candy was baffled by this question, but not wanting to jeopardize her chances obediently answered, “I’m a D cup, but why do you need to know?”
“Oh! Just for the work uniform, of course,” the Giant explained smoothly. “You sound like a good fit for our work culture. When can you come in for an interview?”
Candy found his questions off-putting, to say the least, but she reminded herself that she needed this job badly. “I can come in today, if you’d like!”
“Perfect! How does 3 pm sound?”
“I’ll be there,” Candy confirmed with a gulp.
“Okay then. You can find me on the third floor, in my private office. I look forward to meeting you, sweetheart,” the Giant affirmed, then hung up. Candy stared at the phone in her sweaty hand. She had some serious misgivings, but she felt cornered. She looked at the clock and realized she had no idea where this place was located, how long it would take for her to get there, or really even how to navigate the land beyond the barrier. She was overwhelmed and unprepared.
She made the choice to leave as soon as possible, so she could feasibly arrive early and without incident. She had some used clothes she bought from a thrift store that she hoped would be appropriate for an interview for an office job. She put on dark slacks and a crisp gray button-down shirt with a collar. The clothes were a little baggy and wrinkly, but she figured they were acceptable. She couldn’t find a pair of nice shoes in her size that was within her budget, so she was forced to wear her ratty old tennis shoes instead. She prayed nobody would notice.
She left her apartment, paper resume in hand, and stepped out into the early afternoon sun. The day was pleasantly warm, with a slight breeze and not a single cloud marring the pure blue of the sky. Candy was feeling optimistic. Maybe her luck was finally starting to change. She lived within walking distance of the barrier, since few people wanted to live within the vicinity of the Giants and housing was cheaper. Soon enough, she made it to the railway station. She had a bus card that was accepted for the high-speed rails as well, so she didn’t have to pay a fare. After looking up the location of Big Corp Inc.’s office building, and determining the correct route, she waited for the railcar.
Nervous energy started to creep over her. The station, despite being new and modern, was devoid of other passengers. She was the only one waiting on the platform. The automated car pulled up and the doors slid open with a soft whoosh. After hesitating, Candy stepped inside. She was feeling too anxious to sit so she stood up and grabbed the built-in handrail for support. The inside of the car was suspiciously shiny and immaculate, as if nobody had ever ridden in it before. The car had large windows in the sides and ceilings that were spotless, free of any fingerprints or scratches.
The doors whooshed closed and the car sped off with shocking speed. Candy hung on tight as the railcar shot underground, beneath the barrier, before reemerging on the opposite side, the side of the Giants. Candy’s palms were slick with moisture as she glued herself to the window with astonishment. The railcar was rocketing through a tunnel of clear glass, which protected the rails from being stepped on by Giants, since the railcars traveled alongside the sidewalk at ground level. The rail moved slightly underground when it crossed the roads, the glass becoming flat on top so cars could pass over.
Candy couldn’t believe the staggering scale of the buildings, roads, streetlights, cars—all the expected trappings of civilization, really, except the foliage, which was normal-sized. Tall trees looked like tiny shrubs next to monumental concrete walls. And the Giants themselves! Candy had never seen a Giant up close, and even though she was safely tucked away inside a fast-moving railcar, she was terrified. The car moved too fast for her to get a good look, but she could see their shoes alone were larger than the entire car she was traveling in. She felt like she was going to faint. She must have made a terrible mistake, coming here—but it was too late. She couldn’t get away now.
Far ahead, Candy spotted the Big Corp Inc. building looming on the horizon. It was a massive, gloomy, gray structure that stretched into the sky, truly one of the great wonders of the corporate world. The company’s name and logo were emblazoned on the building with immense steel letters that glistened in the sun. Her little railcar barreled towards it all too quickly. She was scared. She didn’t know how she would be able to work on this side of the city, or even get around, with everything being so gigantic.
Her stop was fairly close to the Big Corp building, so at least by Giant standards she wouldn’t have far to go. However, the distance was still quite vast for a human. The railcar slowed to a stop, and the doors quietly opened. Candy hesitantly stepped out onto the platform, which had a cover over it to protect from the elements. The awning at least made her feel somewhat hidden from the Giants clomping around outside. She just wanted to curl up and hide as the pavement vibrated beneath her feet with the great weight of every Giant step. She imagined being crushed underfoot and shuddered.
There were some marked human pathways with fencing on both sides to protect pedestrians from being smashed. Giants could easily step over the human-sized gates, so they didn’t block the enormous sidewalks at all. Even so, Candy was frightened to emerge from her shelter. The Giants themselves were larger than she ever imagined in her wildest dreams. Even if she craned her neck all the way back, she could barely see their faces so high up in the sky.
Candy couldn’t bring herself to move. She was frozen in place. She instinctively wanted to run, but there was nowhere to go. The railcar had vanished; she would have to wait for the next one if she desired to go back. While she was tempted to flee, she was again reminded that she had no more options. This was her last chance to get a job. If she failed here, she’d become homeless. She exhaled slowly. Her whole body was shaking in terror. She checked her watch. She didn’t have much time left before her interview, especially considering the distance she would have to walk to get there. It was now or never. She took a deep breath and stepped forward into the sun.

I don’t know if I’m late to this but I finally had time to watch all ever after high videos + movies and the last one was a disappointment. I’m of course talking about the Epic Winter storyline. There were so many things amiss that I had to make a list. Let me start with the lack of main character screentime. Don’t get me wrong, I love when they add in new characters and expand the story like they did in Way Too Wonderland with Alistair, Bunny and Courtly Jester and it was balanced, I never felt like anyone was being shunned from the story. In Epic Winter everything revolved around just the main plot with the same characters and I was kinda looking forward to seeing Apple and Raven more. That on it’s own wasn’t a big issue I just wanted to see more of them because they are my favourites but I was looking forward to learning about this new main cast.
Before I get into rambling about the story I just have to say that maybe this wouldn’t be such a bad episode if it wasn’t after the Dragon Games. I was expecting to see a clarification of why Apple wasn’t woken by Daring’s kiss and see how they dealt with it. If Apple wanted to stay with Daring or choose a ‘different’ path with Darling. That would’ve been great side plot (even though to me that would be the main event).
The story itself was okay, good defeats evil once again and I liked that Crystal’s parents finally learn to trust her and give her leadership powers over their kingdom. Maybe it was a bit weird that right after that they left her to rule alone but other than that the story was fine. Now for the most disappointing part Daring and Rosabella, or mostly for me Rosabella. I didn’t mind her much as a character, she wasn’t even in many episodes so I thought she was chill. At first it looked like she was trying to help Charming with his curse which was nice of her and also helping him with his relationship crisis with Apple. Even though they aren’t dating, obviously Daring cares a lot for Apple and they’ve been pretty close since the beginning, also in Way Too Wonderland when they got cursed and he turned into a coward he clung to Apple as his protector. Needless to say they have a special bond wheter it’s romantic or just as friends. So I was really glad that there was finally a girl that was trying to be nice to him not because of his looks or because she wants something heroic from him but because she was trying to be friendly. Then she started to make him into her desired guy and I think it had a lot to do with him looking like her dad (yikes). It kind of got into Rosabella mommying Daring situation where she would just constantly tell him that he had to stop thinking about himself and think of others which first of all isn’t even true. Daring can be self absorbed but he was shown numerous times through the show as a guy that helped out a friend in need. Also he was very kind to other girls. For instance when he was dared to date Lizzie and ended up enjoying it and after he succeeded to get a kiss from her instead of boasting about it in front of everyone he fulfilled Lizzie’s request to keep it a secret even though it meant he had to wash dirty uniforms of some other guys. Another time was when Farrah was upset because she fulfills wishes of everyone else but never her own so Ashley decided to make her biggest wish come true and make her a ball with prince charming which of course was Daring. He also danced with Cerise when he saw her alone at a dance as an apology for how he acted when he doubted her ability to play with them in a match of Book Ball. So needless to say he is a very kind person behind the charm and people who care about him know that. Which is why it was so confusing and out of the blue to pair him up with the most random character just because he turned into a beast as in beauty and a beast and call it a day. It is also out of place to give him a redemption arc as if he needed it. I also thought it weird that Rosabella acted like she knew him forever even though they just started talking/hanging out. It would have been more acceptable to pair Daring, if not with Apple, with Lizzie or even Cerise because they had some moments together. Instead they forced a relationship onto the viewers.
In conclusion it was upsetting to end the series with Epic Winter and I’m just going to pretend like it never existed.

I enjoyed your post about Rhaenyra taking action in regard to her marriage. What was your opinion on her plan surrounding her second marriage and Laenor's "death"? Smart move? Bad move? I always thought it was very risky as she risks losing the Velaryons.
Thank you for your kind message! I suppose I understand why they did it this way. They wanted to avoid killing off a gay character, when the show already included enough women dying in childbirth (or via divorce rock). I accept the urge to cater to modern-day sensibilities and have to admit that my own first-reaction was that it was a welcome change from the books. The idea of Laenor living a nice life in Essos with Qarl sounds good on paper, but does kind of fall apart when you start to analyse it.
Laenor's POV
The main problem is that this fix requires us to believe that Laenor is both willing to abandon his entire family at a moment's notice just day(s) after the funeral of his only sibling AND not return to Westeros ever again. Even though they will end up fighting for their literal lives in a very violent war, EVEN THOUGH he is a dragon-rider and could actually, notably help with the war effort. I think Laenor's character does support a rather negative reading in this light. I'm not particularly invested in Laenor being "good" or "bad", but it does say a lot about show!Laenor - mainly that he really is a selfish dick.
Even if the Dance never happened and his family would have been indefinitely safe in his absence, he still knows that his parents think him dead and have lost both of their children in a very short period of time. I can't image how gut-wrenching that would be! I sympathize that he is unable to live his life openly, but it just seems like a needless act of cruelty. Laenor's life was certainly never ideal, but he still benefited from a lot of privilege and could pursue his romantic exploits without anyone chastising him. That's still a lot more freedom than the majority of the Westerosi gay community would ever get to experience.
The further problem is that, while he admits to loving Jace/Luke/Joffrey even though they're not his biological children, he is still essentially abandoning them to a society that will never accept Rhaenyra's lies. They are very likely to be in danger at some point and he won't be able to help them.
Rhaenyra's POV
Something that didn't sit well with me was that Laenor specifically told Rhaenyra he was ready to recommit himself to her and their children, then she replied "thanks, but no thanks" and forced this decision on him.
Like many other times in Rhaenyra's life, she thinks she is making a generous offer, but the terms could actually be perceived as batty by the other side. What would she have done if Laenor refused? Killed him? She is basically asking him to abandon his entire family and never return. Just because Daemon is finally available for her to marry? My gosh. That's a crazy level of entitlement and norm-breaking.
What guarantee does she have that Laenor won't return? Will she have to kill him if he returns? Maybe he is racked with guilt and changes his mind!
Marrying Daemon is also a really bad idea. She was only named heir in the first place to avoid putting Daemon in proximity to the throne. 🤦‍♀️ Because Daemon was not well-liked in Westeros, to say the least. She is alienating a lot of potential allies with this moves. Instead of being a conciliator, she is being divisive.
In addition, the show-runners will have to solve the Seasmoke conundrum somehow.
Considerations on framing
Another thing that bugs me about this is that is basically turns Daemyra into woke LGBTQ allies, which is a plot twist that provides them with WAY too much grace in the eyes of the audience in relation to their awfulness as people and as political actors. The viewers are basically being manipulated to the Blacks' side with this unexpected brownie point that came out of nowhere. Of course they all watched the show and turned into black stans. Who are they gonna side with? Promoter-of-minority-rights Rhaenyra or rapist!Aegon? 🤷‍♀️
If your intention is to tell a balanced story, this is not the way to go. If the show-runners really wanted to furnish Daemyra with this VERY indulgent and overly-positive interpretation, they should balance it out with a concession for the Green side. At the very least drop the child-fighting-pit detail for Aegon, because this is just ridiculous bias.

if the island IS a simulation then I like thinking that the codes have a whole ass anime going on about them on the side. a disturbing amlunt of people is getting trapped in an evil organization, the "Federation", and it's up to this team of young heroes, to help them find the way out. this may include killing things the people trapped there care about, but it's fine, because it's not real anyway. getting in the simulation is hard, and they end up showing up as weird strings of code. if they stay too long, they begin to forget why they're there, and who they are, so they a) make quick trips and b) set thejr names to the first letter of their objective, something to ground them and remind them why they're there. they're the heroes, and the islanders will thank them once this is over. they're only in distress because they don't know the codes are the good guys
HOWEVER they cab't really watch what the people in the simulation are doing most of the time, and that'd be a boring anime. so we have a needless romantic plot, a significantly more emeotionally heavy gay plot thay doesn't happen on purpose, intense moral conflicts and arguments due to them between characters, and many other things you find in your average anime

for the ask game: 001 favorite character (sandman), character you felt the writers screwed up (any media), 002 gabby/pierce, calliope/corinthian [eyes emoji]
Oooh for favorite Sandman character, definitely the Corinthian! He’s just - he’s everything! He’s queer, he’s a fuck up, he’s weird, he’s *trying*, he’s constantly looking to partner up with other people to help him overthrow his boss, he’s manipulative but not necessarily *good* at it. I love that he loves life, and loves humanity in his own way. He’s a nightmare, so his love is nightmarish and monstrous, but he’s so capable of having fun and there is something tragic about him being punished for being true to his nature. I’m not sure he’s really capable of being any way other than what he is, and I adore that for him.
I especially love him contrasted against the collectors - they’re all so full of resentment and spite, they’ve all invented narratives where they’re justified in killing their victims, and the Corinthian doesn’t need that at all! He doesn’t hate his victims! He’s a monster, he doesn’t need to justify what he’s doing. His speech to them was kind of hilarious in that it sort of missed the mark about why *they* kill - most of them aren’t really killing to kill at all! And when they speculate on the reasons for his name, and he kinda demurs?? Because it’s just his name! It’s not some badass moniker he came up with for himself like the rest of them. It is literally just his name.
Character I felt the writers screwed up… urgh, not to drag myself back into the OFMD fandom (yikes), but as someone who binged season 1 and was hella excited where season 2 would take the story… I gotta say Ed Teach. I won’t get too far down this rabbit hole, but needless to say, if you choose to write your co-protagonist and romantic lead as an abusive monster, that’s fine, but please actually follow-through, don’t just hand-wave it all away when it starts to headbutt against the “sunshine friendship&romance” plot you wanna tell
Gabby/Pierce
when or if I started shipping it: Not until I saw that deleted scene a few months ago!! God, I’m still feral over it. That he calls her by a nickname - that there was clearly a friendship between them, if not more – and it makes so much sense with how hyped up he’s acting right after her death, like he’s keeping himself going on willpower and Ritalin, and the way he looks so solemn when he’s telling Caliban people don’t change?? GAH. It’s a ship I didn’t think about for YEARS but has grabbed me right by the throat.
my thoughts: That I love it. That I want it. That there’s an entire movie about Gabby and Pierce’s relationship we only catch glimpses of the tail-end of, and I’ll never stop screaming about that.
What makes me happy about them: That they were friends!! She’s a nurse and he was the Reaver commander, but he *knew* her well enough to know that she loved comic books (like him!) They’re very different people – she doesn’t strike me as someone that would be drawn in to his posturing, and he’s hinted at being kinda nerdy and quiet at points in the movie where he’s not fronting, and I love the implication that she saw a side of him he doesn’t normally show to people.
What makes me sad about them: y’know it’s a tough call, but probably the part where she gets killed either by him or his Reavers on his command 😭 although it does add a deliciously tragic edge to it too
Things done in fanfic that annoys me: that there’s not more of it!
Things I look for in fanfic: assuming there was more fanfic of the two of them, I’d probably look for fanfics that explored Pierce being… maybe not *softer*, but more vulnerable with Gabby, but without making him OOC (I like my boy with his off-putting, nasty streak!) Them being drawn in to the aspects of each other that they don’t feel as comfortable showing is *chef’s kiss*
My kinks: ooh definitely femdom, CNC (i can see them switching roles for that one), pegging, and MFM threesomes with a “forced bi” roleplay element, light bondage
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: Probably Logan!
My happily ever after for them: Gabby was just faking being dead and digs Pierce out of the ground 😭😭 Always in love with endings where Pierce gets to be her extra good guard dog
Calliope/Corinthian
when or if I started shipping it: A while back (maybe a year ago now?) a friend of mine in a server drew a gorgeous piece of Calliope/Corinthian art (the one I attached to the tumblr post linking to my story, with their permission), and I was hooked after that!
my thoughts: Corinthian deserves a better master than Dream tbh, and I love him with an actual goddess who understands some part of his whole personhood situation. Someone who respects him as an individual, but also understands that if he doesn’t have someone holding his own leash pretty tightly (and giving him plenty of enrichment and affection), he’s gonna go off and do *sooo* many murders because that’s just who he is. And I love Calliope getting to indulge in some messy sex after her ordeal, with someone that just adores her for *her* and not that she’s a muse
What makes me happy about them: that their needs have the capability to balance out pretty well!! That I can see Calliope as someone who can survive and thrive with the Corinthian, and I think the Corinthian would be better off under her, too.
What makes me sad about them: when i remember they probably have met before, in happier times when Orpheus was still alive, and we’ll likely never see it 😭 did Calliope like Dream’s favorite nightmare?? Did she pamper him like a treasured pet? Was he jealous of her for her closeness to Dream? Did he adore having someone around that treated him with a softer touch?
Things done in fanfic that annoys me: again, that there’s just not really fanfic for them! 😭
Things I look for in fanfic: (assuming there was more to choose from!) really anything exploring the power dynamics between a nightmare with daddy issues and a goddess that’s spent the last 70 years imprisoned. I don’t think they could ever be regular boyfriend/girlfriend, free of power imbalance, but that’s what I adore about it
My kinks: femdom, Calliope as a masochistic dom, CNC with Calliope as the “victim” (specifically love her reclaiming herself and her sexuality & reconciling some of her trauma through some CNC), gentle domme, primal play, orgasm control/denial
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: honestly, I just love giving Call the Corinthian. I’m not sure I really ship her with anyone else - although Calliope/Destruction tickles something in my brain too. And for Corinthian, definitely Rose
My happily ever after for them: she gets to keep the Corinthian and he’s her pampered and very enriched monster 😌😌

Happy Storyteller Saturday!
Are there any places, objects, or even people in your stories inspired by or directly borrowed from your real life?
Share a snippet if you like 💜
Thanks for the ask, Winter! Happy STS! So sorry it took me almost until the next STS to answer! I wanted to make sure I did it justice.
And your answer is:
Yes, many. I think virtually everything I write is to some extent seeded in reality, no matter how wildly the story diverges from there.
My YA romantic thriller The Adored (which I haven't shared much about here yet) was heavily inspired by having grown up in a musical family (with members who were much more successful at it than I was!), singing in school choirs and musicals, and then later being involved in the indie music scene during college and grad school. Some of the MCs, their friends and family share personality traits with friends and even family members of mine, although altered enough to be unrecognizable (I hope!)
Even Good Slaves Never Break the Rules, as out-there as the plot is, has some drawn-from-life elements sprinkled around.
I started writing it almost eight years ago to entertain myself on a transatlantic sea voyage (that's worth another whole post altogether), and some of the characters and early situations (I won't say specifically which ones!) were inspired by that. In general, the unusual dynamics that pop up when strangers from vastly different origins and roles onboard are pressed together in a small space with no choice but to work and spend time together (although needless to say, very soon, my imagination wildly diverged from what actually happened 😂). There were numerous other influences of course, including several plays and other works of literature, but those are best suited for yet another post, I think.
And yes, I did live in Arizona and even went to university there [although the one I attended has been ported over to the larger city to the north for plot purposes], though I didn't grow up there and have lived abroad for years now. (I do go back frequently, however). The excerpt I'm going to use -- after much thinking and probably some more interesting snippets I'm missing -- has to do with that. As it happens, the university (and its fictional, relocated counterpart) is actually world-famous for its research on both optics and astronomy, which explains why it's host to one of the world's largest liquid mirror telescope labs -- which of course found its way into GSNBTR, only appropriate given the characters' interests in science.
The direct route to the mirror telescope was in a red brick building not entirely on the other side of campus, but almost.
"Hey, it's — what are you doing?" she exclaimed, chasing after him. "You’re going in completely the wrong direction.”
“Maybe it would help if you actually told me where we’re going.”
“Maybe it would help if you’d listen to anything I said!"
He crossed his arms impatiently. "Well?"
"The mirror telescope building,” she said. “To meet someone named Milagros.”
To her shock, his whole expression transformed before her eyes. “Wait. Mirror telescope? The Zenith telescope?”
“Yeah, it’s made out of liquid — "
“Liquid mercury, I know," he continued eagerly. "In a paraboloid shape. It’s the biggest in the world outside of the Himalayas. They’re now testing the same technology in microgravity to see if they can build one like it in a crater on the moon.”
If she weren’t still so angry, she might have actually smiled at how this sudden overload of sheer science-geekery had his eyes shining like she hadn’t seen them shine in days.
Lastly, anything concerning business, finance, and/or the world of startups and technology is drawn partially from my interest in those topics I developed writing about them as part of my IRL writing job.
Thanks for a great question!

Heya! Just curious, do you have any favorite ship with yanli? I really dislike JZX and I would much rather find someone else for her bc he doesn't deserve her
┬┴┬┴┤(・_├┬┴┬┴
Jiang Yanli/Lan Xichen
Here, I'll share a rough outline I have simmering just for this, also featuring Wangxian heavily lol!
LXC/JYL PLOT POINTS
LXC instead of being near Yunping finds shelter near Meishan Yu’s territory
Due to this it's JYL who ends up finding him and worrying because he is obviously a mess
She has no idea he's LCX but knows that he is a Lan
He keeps it on the downlow about who exactly he is for safety for everyone and JYL doesn't take no for an answer since he has nowhere espe to go for recuperating
They begin to bond a bit about wanting to protect their siblings and worrying about what may have happened to them since both YMJ and GL were attacked
Eventually LXC confides in JYL about who he is and they begin a correspondence during war as he is eventually able to reunite with GL and she begins helping in the camps
Eventually during one of the war counsels for the clans LXC hears JZX griping about JYL and WWX essentially feeding into nasty rumors
LXC is the one to lose it and ends up starting a physical fight (THE SCANDAL)
JYL hears about this and asks him why he had done that, LXC goes on about how she is too good to be talked of that way as well as WWX who LWJ does respect
The Sunshot Campaign does end, but the eventual twist is that LXC announces his intentions to marry JYL (SHOT GUN WEDDING)
LQR has an almost Qi deviation about all of this but rescinds and gives in because “whatever happy nephew”
WANGXIAN PLOT POINTS
Golden Core transfer still occurs
However the biggest turning point is it being LXC having attacked JZX for the way he spoke to JYL
Due to this, LXC and WWX actually strike up a sort of friendship because of their care of JYL
This affects the way WWX begins to become slightly less guarded in regards to his opinions about LWJ since LXC is a doting brother who speaks well of LWJ
Because those 4 begin to strike up a weird little friendship again it becomes common for others to inquire about it all
JC of course gets progressively jealous about this once the war ends which leads into accusations of WWX siding more with Gusu Lan after the war to “steal what's Yunmeng Jiang” a.k.a WWX and JYL
This leads to some big fight between them that is heavily palpable when the clans are together
WWX is able to occasionally confide things in LWJ, who is still careful now in the way he listens to WWX before discussing ideas together
Wen’s being saved still happens but, due to JYL having ties with Gusu Lan instead by marriage and because of LXC’s better knowledge of WWX it is suggested that they do not provoke further desperation or resorts for this
JC is not happy about this, aka, let LWJ punch JC after the meeting because JC’s temper gets the better if him, and it mirrors what LXC did to protect JYL earlier
Instead of JC being the one to go meet and make demands of WWX, LWJ secretly goes on the request of JYL, WN is revived slightly earlier which leaves LWJ suggesting he will speak to LXC more on what can be done to let the remaining Wens continue living peacefully without the shadow of being threatened or WWX being labeled a threat
Somewhere down the line due to this it is suggested that the Wens themselves that are left be allowed to choose where to live and set up their own establishments, as under Gusu Lan’s neutral opinion and observation they aren't obviously building up a new “sect”
Not listed are the finer points of romantic build up for both and side character effects to the plot of all this, needless to say, Lan Qiren is a stubborn goat that is another hurdle to overcome. As well as the Jins trying to poke for ways to upend the very precarious peace established from this deal between Gusu Lan and Wen Qing as the remaining spokesperson of the Wens. There is an eventual core reveal as well, a la thank you Wen Ning since JC is now harassing not only Wangxian, but Lan Xichen and Jiang Yanli by accusing LXC of ulterior motives to undermine Yunmeng Jiang.

Trope Rating Game!
Trope Rating Game Rules: how much do these tropes affect your decision to click on a fic?
-10 -> very dissuaded
0 - don’t care either way
+10 -> very enticed
nope -> if it’s a hard no and you’d never click on a fic with that tag or you even have the tag blocked or you’d insta click out of the fic if it wasn’t tagged.
Bonus points for explaining the rating and whether it’s conditional.
***
Thanks for the tag @fandoms-ruin-life ! This sounds like fun
Age gap: -4 It very much depends on the situation, but in general, I tend to avoid these types of fics (especially when the older partner calls the younger one "kid." I'm just not a fan. It can be done well and if they're both older and/or immortal I might read it, but...
Codependency: 1 It isn't a trope I'll actively seek out (and I don't much enjoy it in romance unless it is done really well or is Neil and Andrew from AFTG), but I might read it if it is a platonic relationship.
Obsession/possessives or Jealousy: -6 I'll read it, but I'm never going to seek this out. If it's more of a side plot, then yeah that's fine, but if the obsessiveness or jealousy plays a major role I'm just not interested. I'd rather the romantic partners just talk out their feelings in a healthy way...
Opposites (grumpy/sunshine, etc): 7 Always fun. Not something I'll actively look for as far as romances go, but I definitely enjoy a good opposites romance, and if it's platonic?? Absolutely!
Enemies to lovers, enemies with benefits: 0 I don't have a super strong opinion. It really depends on the other tags in the fic. I don't like the toxicity of a lot of "enemies to lovers" stuff but if it's more like "rivals" or "fake enemies" kind of situations I'm more likely to read it. If it's toxic really at all though I probably won't read it unless it ends with them not together and has h/c with some other character...
Friends with benefits: -8 Sounds like it's gonna be a lot of sex and I'm not really into that. If it's more like a queerplatonic relationship type friendship that involves sex, then I'll read it because I'm down with that theme, but otherwise probably not, unless it's a side plot.
Sex with feelings: -2 If it's in a fic I'll read it (I do enjoy the more intimate aspects of sex fics like the boundary negotiation, cuddling, or aftercare) but I'm probably not gonna just seek out this kind of fic.
Fake/pretend dating relationships: -1 They can be good, but I'm usually not a fan. There tend to be a lot of themes that seem to devalue friendship a lot of the time and I don't really like the subterfuge of this. (Caveat: if it is true fake dating and they never get together then 10/10 I will read that...)
Friends to lovers: 4 It's cute, but I'm not gonna seek it out unless its paired with some of my other favorite tropes.
Found family: 10 Don't ask stupid questions /lh
Hurt/comfort: 10 My favorite trope in Fanfiction (since most of the time I'm choosing my fandom obsessions based on the fact they already have found family in them...) I will read these fics all day, but they had better actually have comfort.
Love Triangle: Nope. This is not a trope I like. Needless alloromantic drama that doesn't interest me. (unless the whole triangle gets together then I'll read that).
Poly, open relationships: 3 In general, I don't really care all that much about the pairings, but I'm giving this a 3 because I really do enjoy the open relationship fics that involve asexual characters so...
Mistaken/hidden identity: -6 It's a thing. If it sounds interesting I might read it, but usually I don't like it all that much.
Monsterfucking: -5 Maybe? If this is the focus then no, but it just depends how the tag's being used...
Pregnancy: Nope. Pregnancy terrifies me. If this is a major part of a fic I'm not reading it.
Second Chance: 7 I like the forgiveness and communication (having tough convos is one of my favorite tropes) aspects and they usually involve hurt/comfort but like the really dramatic and super romance heavy ones aren't my thing.
Slowburn: 9 Yes. I'm aroace; the buildup of this really deep friendship over long periods of time that only eventually leads to romance but the friendship is already so important that the romance isn't treated as the natural conclusion or as a better form of what they already had?? Yes, I love that. My favorite romance trope for sure.
Tags if you want to play, but no pressure obviously: @rainystarfish @sleepdeprivedsimp234 @somewhatnerdy Or if anyone else wants to do it???

To all the great denizens of Tumblr…
What is your most despised plot/writing trope of your favorite genre? And what is your most Ride or Die trope?
!MINOR SPOILERS FOR JOHN WICK 4, SKYSCRAPER (2018), NIGHT AGENT (2023) AND LOST!
Action stories are definitely up there as one of my favorite genres.
To everyone else this may seem like a hot take, but I do not particularly enjoy romantic plots. Unless the story is a romantic genre I tend to get annoyed of them, especially because it’s always the two main characters and a good portion of the time are a guy and girl. Like- why can’t they just be best friends at the end of the story, instead of having this prologue of them ending up together one way or another?
I recently watched Night Agent, y’know that Netflix show? Needless to say it had this exact plot device. It came completely out of left field too. I’m not even joking. Peter and Rose showed almost no indication of a relationship and were colleagues for a time (which I was really digging), then completely out of left field they start smooching and stuff in episode 6 I believe. I may have the timeline messed up but it was after their dumbasses managed to get labeled traitors of the US. The ‘woe is me’ trope I speak about more below about REALLY came into full effect here for Peter. It messed with the tone too. I felt less of a feeling of dread for Peter specifically being framed, and more of a ‘oh so THIS is how they force him and Rose together?’ There’s scenes where Rose is healing his wounds, then caressing his muscles, all while this broadcast plays about Peter being a traitor. The entire time it’s like the writers forgot we are supposed to feel terrible about that and instead made it into a scene, where we are made to feel like it’s hot that this girl is running around with her fugitive boyfriend and is the lone person who believes in the good will of Peter.
I find that romantic plots such as these are usually shoved in to add some amount of drama to the story where that drama never had to be present. It gets pretty repetitive and lazy as I see it over and over again in medias outside of the romantic genre. As mentioned before, I see they tend to do more harm than good. There’s usually some amount of ‘woe is me’ involved, or a love triangle or needless break ups and such. One example that immediately comes to mind for me is Lost.
Bro- the love square going on in Lost was a mess. I cant even begin to fathom why they dragged out the whole ‘Who will Kate end up with? Jack or Sawyer?’ for as long as humanly possible. There was the silly old simplicity of the ‘bad girl with a soft side™️’ having to ‘choose between the bad boy with a heart of gold or the noble Boy Scout™️’. Not to mention the random inclusion of Jack maybe ending up Juliet and that needless amount of tension from everyone questioning her loyalty. The story did this a lot where they simply didn’t have characters communicate with each other, and this was by far its worst example. If Jack just pulled Kate- or heck anyone aside- and said ‘It’s not like that, she’s just letting me know some valuable information that can save our lives’??? That is just the tip of the iceberg with that whole debacle, but I’d rather move on to my favorite tropes.
You know what tropes always get me good? Is my number one Ride or Die trope? I love fluid fighting sequences. Especially ones that in some way show the characters wit or willpower. I don’t mind these scenes when they go on for several minutes, typically because any well written one won’t FEEL like it’s been several minutes. It will just go and go and fully immerse you into the action- and suddenly it’s been ten minutes and the scenes still going but you don’t know that. Why? Because you are having too much fun watching those creative and unique ways each participant is using to try and take each other out.
I do believe the greatest modern example of this trope done right is the entire John Wick franchise. I could rewatch all four of those movies in a heartbeat and it’d hardly feel like an hours passed for me. All because of how beautifully choreographed those fights are, and how unique each opponent is for Wick. How each character has their own distinct fighting style even if it may just look like they’re throwing punching at each other. John Wick 4 especially had this really cool scene (well several actually), showcasing a new character called Caine, and the several ways he navigates around being blind and still putting up as good a fight as every other High Table assassin. There was this one moment in particular where he was being introduced as a threat for the first time that we see him very clearly have limitations in navigating his surroundings, but uses sounds such as the enemy drawing their bow, the woosh of an arrow, the footsteps of another, and so on to tell where his opponents are. He even has these little audio buttons which he places along one of two routes the enemy can enter from so he knows when they are coming. It’s quite nice seeing him maneuver around being blind while still being realistically blind.
There is another really tense action scene from a film Skyscraper (2018), where the main character Will is trying to get through the towers manual override to rescue his child. Because he is locked in a room with no access to the control panels he decides to deactivate it by cutting the wires outside the building (complicated I know but bear with me). What follows is this moment where we visibly see Will’s exhaustion as he makes a precarious pulley system and makes his way to the panel. Him deactivating it seems like a small victory, however because of the encroaching flames he’s forced to make a daring escape where he then is left wildly dangling on the side of he building. We are forced to watch him struggle to gain his bearings as he twists and turns midair, before being slammed into the buildings wall and nearly falling to his demise, only for his prosthetic leg to be caught in the rope. He then used his leg as a more solid bearing to grab into where he finally climbs back up to safety. All I’m saying is it was a really great scene, you could hardly tell it was three minutes.
Oh yeah! Before I finish off please know I don’t hate neither Lost or Night Agent. Lost especially is one of my favorite shows. My opinions are more so my own preferences for writing, as I am sure many really digger the romance in both those shows. I’m just not too much a romantic person. It just means those plot lines are not for me. Every creative work as some amount of value, every creative work has potential, always remember that! I cant wait to see your responses! 💙💛

Double Media Feature
So if Die Hard, Sirens, and Brooklyn 99 had a baby...it would be this. It is hilarious. A bomb diffuse team on NYE trying to beat a record. It's short, it's great, it's got Jacobi, Loveless, and Eiffel from Wolf 359. I laughed out loud and started talking to the podcast.
So what am I working on while I do this?
I am revitalizing a copy of Maurice I bought from a used book store that fell apart upon opening it. I think the person who originally bought it never read it. It was a really copy glued together size 9 font affair with no margins. Add to this the fact that the book is close to 30 years old....and you can imagine the amount of damage. Maurice one of my favorite books. I think I like it for the reasons that other people like Jane Austen. I don't really care for Jane Austen, but I love the movie adaptations. They're great background noise. Plot wise though I get frustrated because it's still the upper class discarding the lower class (I am looking at you Sense and Sensibility) or supposing to lean into challenging class expectations by doing exactly what is best case scenario (That would be you Pride and Prejudice). The only one I really liked was Lady Susan and really I liked that one because it was SO much like Les Liaisons dangereuses.
Maurice is a favorite because Maurice chooses Alec and Alec chooses him. They really do forsake EVERYTHING for one another. I guess it's like what Pride and Prejudice would be if Darcy really did pick someone beneath him and the story was told from his side....or if any of the men in Sense and Sensibility had actually stood by any of the women they had knocked up or abandoned. It's more romantic to me I guess because it's.....
Yupe it's both of them going full Carly Rae Jepsen.
I've managed to get the thing type set correct, got the page numbers on there and did a few additions for my own sake. The joys of binding means that I can make the book "better."
Really by better I mean more user friendly. I've added a table of contents, and about halfway though an index (I had to redo it twice now, it's hard on the spirit to have SUCH failure), and the update of the global stance of homosexuality for 2022. I'm currently at over 100 hours on this project, but I think it's well worth the time given that legislation I saw take root in Virginia. I worry for the state of minority and queer texts with things like that in the wings, but to be fair I also worry about another Hays Code era given that some of the books tangled up in that lawsuit are straight couples.
This is how these things kind of start....legislation and the law can be dangerous. But maybe I'm paranoid. But...given what Texas and Florida and even Georgia have going on...needless to say I'm cultivating avenues to protect banned/challenged books. We always say it's to protect kids, but it's really about just removing chances to curate empathy I think. It's to casually and quietly make people "weird" or "strange" and in doing so make children grow up believing that those people might be wrong or evil. That's how you teach children hatred.
Now thinking about what I'm doing....I guess Maurice was the right choice to bind and customize. The whole book Maurice is struggling with who he is...
When I'm finished, DM me if you would like a copy of my edition? Anyone interested in my hundred of notes regarding the symbolism that I did when I was proofing my screwed up print outs that @evil-robot-cat had to pep talk me through?
