Some of you might have seen me complaining about my dissertation recently and I would really appreciate it if anyone could take some time to fill in this survey for my research.
I’m looking into the idea of rainbow washing and whether brands using the pride logo and being inclusive in their adverts actually convinces people that they’re an inclusive company for the LGBTQ+ community - or if we’re all just cynical about corporations using pride for profit.

Ok.
Fucking, and?
This can not seriously be your fucking advertisement. I've played the game and didn't totally hate it so I am the ideal audience here. What part of this is meant to entice me to play again and experience the new character? What if they have shit mechanics? what if they're annoying? What if the means of unlocking them is kinda annoying like the rest of the characters in your game?
-------------------------------------------------------
Edit: yeah so i looked back at this post and thats not the official account. As a general concept, if this were an official ad then this would be fucking stupid. And a horrible manipulative form of marketing that perfectly embodies rainbow capitalism. Which is more so the point I wanted to make but clesrly didn't put across that well.
Simply put, were this an advertisement for the game, it would do a horrible job at actually advertising the game itself and would fully be taking advantage of the fact that this character is NB. That would mean this game is taking advantage of the lgbts and using them for profit, not to say it doesn't kinda already. If this sort of advert would convince you to get the game because of representation then you're fucking atupid and corporations will love you.

In contesti analoghi ci comportiamo all'opposto.

As we prepare for pride month coming up, please remember that corporations do not care about you. As soon as it is no longer convenient for them, they will throw us away like last month’s price tags.

I was just informed from a queer friend who works at Vans that a lot of the reasons why these stores, including Target, are putting their pride merch in the back or away entirely is to avoid actual violence against the store workers, especially at the height of America’s gun violence issue. Vandalism is also another reason why, which is a lot less harmful than physical violence, but is still impactful, which is what they had to do at their job at Vans in a mall that they work in. While these big brands are still participating in rainbow-washing and are caving into backlash, I think it’s also important to note that separate stores that even may have workers part of the LGBTQIA+ community and endorse the merch are doing it to survive their job, which is a very unfortunate reality.

Still think that commercial companies shouldn't be at the canal parade in Amsterdam. They don't care about lgbt rights, they care about money, and attending the canal parade with a boat is just advertisement for their product/service.

Its officially Pride month. I can tell because my job changed their sign to be the progress pride flag on the logo and the bathroom music is playing Born this Way - Lady Gaga. I just feel SO supported 🙄
