Not giving any details but I was going back and forth with Lyre this afternoon and together we did a complete overhaul of the UA Sports Festival so Izuku gets knocked out in the first round of the fight bracket and Shinsou and Todoroki go head-to-head in the second round, and also Shiozaki gets third place overall because her losing to Iida like that was absolute bullshit give our girl some fucking respect
I will not be explaining my changes or going in-depth on the 4 round bracket I came up with yes I actually typed up all of that shit, and while I kept some fights the same [narratively there's like 3 that are very important development wise] I just futzed around with the rest and had fun with it, and the reason I'm not explaining any of that is because I Am Tired
It was so much work to do and while I'm super proud of my changes godDAMN if it didn't use up all my brainpower to make everything work

Yandere Izuku Midoriya x Villain Male Reader
Tumblr media
I would like to clarify something, I never watched “My Hero Academia,” so don’t know much about this show.
Warning: Violence, slight mention of bullying.
Requested from Pokadeathpony
Background: Midoriya is doing the normal thing patrolling the city when he finds this beautiful villain male and falls for him. Midoriya decides after already killing an investigator on M/N to join and be the best killing couple.
M/N: Male Name
V/N: Villain Name
E/C: Eye color
S/C: Skin color
H/C: Hair color
sorry if this is bad!!
———————————————————————————————————
Midoriya was patrolling the city at night when he noticed something happening in an alleyway. he saw a guy attacking someone else! As he got closer, he noticed the features of the assailant. (You’re a murder by the way.)
He had soft, fluffy H/C hair, a nice S/C tone that radiants from the gray and dark colors, and couldn’t see his E/C, but it must be beautiful like the rest of him. Midoriya blushed at his features. He had never felt this towards anyone. This is a new feeling to him.
He was stared for too long because M/n saw him and ran away. I wanted to stop him and bring him to justice but something in me told me to just let him go. ‘Well, I guess I won’t see him again.’ I sighed to myself as I walked away from the scene.
(Why didn’t you cover yourself in black clothing so you couldn’t be seen? Because of plot purposes.)
Flash forward to morning (By the way it’s summer break in this story. Again I have never seen the show, so don’t judge me.)
Midoriya’s sleep was disturbed by his alarm clock. “Ugh!” Midoriya groans as he smashed his clock. ‘Well, I’ll have to get a new one,’ Midoriya said to himself saying that this wasn’t the first time he has done it. Midoriya just laid there for the next 10 minutes before getting up.
‘What day is it today?’ Midoriya got up and checked the calendar, seeing that it was Spring Break. ‘Yes, It’s spring break!’ Midoriya went to the kitchen to make some breakfast and watch TV. Midoriya made a traditional breakfast that consists of steamed rice, miso soup, protein such as grilled fish, and various side dishes.
After making his breakfast he sat down and watched TV. nothing was really so he went on the News Channel. “Good morning everyone, it’s a wonderful day here in Musutafu I’m Himari Yamamoto, and now for the weather with Sakura Kobayashi.” (Random name I created.) it then flashed over to the Weather woman.
“Thank you, Himari Suzuki. So today, we have warm winds coming in from the south and today’s temperature is 18 °C (64 degrees Fahrenheit) now back to you, Himari.” she was done giving the weather.
“Thank you, Sakura, now onto breaking news. A dead body was found in an alleyway near (insert random restaurant name) last night at 10 something PM.”
(Does this sound like a good news broadcast?)
when the news lady said that Midoriya had a flashback to last night, he remembers seeing the cute murder. ‘Wait cute?!’ Midoriya was getting all confused about this. He was snapped out of his thoughts when he heard the news say, “An investigator is currently trying to bring this murderer to justice.”
‘An investigator?!’ something is triggering Midoriya. For some reason, he’s mad at this person, but he should be happy that someone is going to bring them to justice. ‘Why I’m I like this?! What I’m I feeling?’ Midoriya was confused, did he like this murderer?
Time Skip (10 PM)
It was 10 PM, the same time Midoriya first spotted ‘him’. Midoriya hated night patrol (does he?) but this time he is actually was excited because maybe he’ll accidentally into him. Nothing really happened until he sees the same H/c and S/c. just to be sure, he got closer and he could confirm that was M/n.
M/n was just walking around. People assumed that M/n was a kind person and that he would never do anything bad towards anyone but behind closed doors, M/n can be the most dangerous person you’ll ever meet. He shows no mercy and is ruthless. But he only kills people who wronged him and people who bully him because he was the ‘quiet kid.’
Anyways M/n was just walking, he was going to the store to get some items. As M/n was walking he could feel someone watching him. He kept turning and looking around. This is what years of bullying can do to you, it makes you more aware but of course that all changed when M/n killed his bullies. M/n arrived at the store and got what he needs.
While walking home, he could still feel eyes watching his every move. ‘Is it that damn investigator?’ M/n yelled in his mind. But little did he know that those eyes were not from the investigator but from a hero.
Time Skip (3 weeks)
For the past three weeks, M/n felt like he was being watched. M.n could rule out that it wasn’t the investigator because he still doesn’t know who is behind all of these murders. As for Midoriya, he watched M/n from the top of the building just in the shadows. He learned a lot about M/n from stalking him, he discovered that most of M/n victims are his bullies. Midoriya is lovesick for M/n.
Midoriya finally understood what he was feeling. These feelings developed as he began to stalk M/n more. He denied it at first but it got more controlling. Midoriya wanted to join M/n but he couldn’t do that because of the investigator. So he had to deal with him.
Midoriya got out his phone and called him. It was ringing for moments until someone picked up, “Hello?” the man finally picked up. “Ah yes, is this Satoshi...  Hashimoto?” “Yes, this is Satoshi. What do you need?” “This Izuku Midoriya and I want to help you with the murder cases.” “Wait you’re the Izuku Midoriya?!” Looks like Satoshi is a fan of Midoriya. MIdoriya is just getting more annoyed about this man.
“Answer my question. Yes or no? The more time that is consumed, the more time that killer is out there.” “Yes, I’ll be honored for you to help me.” “Okay, I want you to meet me at my apartment. Today at 11:00.” “Uhh, why your place?” “Do you want me to help or not?!” “Yes, sorry, I’ll be over there.” “Great see you at 11:00.” then Midoriya hung up.
Midoriya sat there with a sadistic grin on his face. ‘This night will be your last.’
Time Skip (11:00)
It was 11:00 and Satoshi should be arriving soon.11:10, Satoshi hasn’t arrived. 11:30 still hasn’t arrived. Just then Midoriya received a call. “Yes, I don’t know where you live.” *sigh* “Okay I live in the (Apartment name) complex, on the 4th floor. Go straight and then take a left, and go straight.” “Okay thank you.”
It was currently 12:10 AM and Midoriya heard someone knocking on the door. ‘About time.’ Midoriya got up and walked to the door, unlocking it. “Hey, Satoshi nice to meet you.” he extended his arm out. “Nice to meet you too,” Midoriya said while shaking his hand. “Come inside.” “Okay.” Satoshi walked inside and Modoriya locked the door.
Midoriya slowly walked behind Satoshi, pulling out the knife he had in his pocket. “So wha-” Midoriya put his hand over Satoshi’s mouth covering it so he wouldn’t make a sound. And Midoriya shoved the knife into his head killing him instantly. ‘So this is what murdering someone feels like?’ Midoriya didn’t feel guilty, he felt relieved.
Midoriya didn’t stop there, he continued to repeatedly stab Satoshi’s body. He cut his fingers off one by one. He cut open his chest and pulled his intestines out. Midoriya released all of his anger. “Tsk, what a mess.” Midoriya grabbed the body and put it in a trash bag. He cleaned up the blood and cleaned the knife.
Once completed Midoriya took the body to the nearby garbage dumpster and there it in. “Time to go to sleep.”
Time Skip (3 days)
M/n turned on the news and he was shocked at what he just saw. “The body of Satoshi Hashimoto was found in a dumpster. The killer is unknown but it is speculated that it’s the same murderer.” ‘I didn’t kill this man? If it wasn’t me then who was it?’ M/n thought to himself. But M/n didn’t care at least Satoshi wasn’t a problem anymore.
Times Skip (10:00 PM. Another one?! Just too lazy to put anything else.)
M/n was walking when he was grabbed and pulled into an alleyway. He was shocked at first but he regained his focus and looked up at who it was. ‘Just who I looking for.’ M/n smirked but before he could pull out his knife, and stab this person, someone else killed him. The body dropped to the ground revealing the person who was behind him. And it shocked M/n.
‘Midoriya?’ M/n mouth dropped. “Hello, M/n.” “How do you know my name?” “Well… you see. You caught my attention and... to be honest I was the one watching.” M/n couldn’t process what was going on. The MIDORIYA was interested in him and he didn’t care that I kill people? “But I kill people… how are you interested in me?” “Well I knew you were a killer but I just stayed quiet. And that investigator, Satoshi? I was the one who killed him.”
M/n was now more shocked. “You were the one who killed him?! Why though? I thought you were a hero?” “Yes, I was the one who killed. Why? Because while I was watching you, I started to develop feelings… sick feelings. And now the last question, I WAS a hero but now I want to join you.”
Not only does Midoriya want to join you in killing people but also has feelings for you. Sick feelings. ‘I mean Midoriya is kind of cute.’ you thought to yourself. “Fine, I give you a chance and you can join me.” Midoriya face lit up and he grabbed your face and pulled you into a kiss. You blushed at this. “Okay stop that, you need to prove yourself first.” Midoriya nodded his head.
Time skip (5 months later)
Midoriya proved himself showing you that he can handle it. He also was ruthless as you and showed no mercy. You also began to develop feelings for Midoriya and you confessed to him, he was ecstatic.  He pulled you for a long kiss and you kiss back, melting into it. He pulled back and whispered.
“You’re mine. You belong to me and I belong to you.”

Manga Spoilers Ahead!
Key:
[f/n] = first name
[h/l] = hair length
[h/c] = hair color
[e/c] = eye color
[s/c] = skin color
[d/n] = daughter’s name
First User meeting his daughter.
[insert the first user’s first name] is about to walk out the door when a familiar voice stops him.
“Are you absolutely sure about this?” Asks his wife of nine years, [f/n].
“I am and it isn’t like I have much of a choice.” He tells her.
“Let me help you, with my quirk you’d have a fighting chance!” [f/n] argues.
[f/n]’s quirk allows her to block quirk genes by the touch of her right hand. A very usual but limited quirk. And he isn’t about to place her on the battle field. He can’t do that to her. Anyone but her.
“NO! Please, just stop [f/n] ... I love you too much to lose you.”
“I feel the same. [insert the first user’s first name], please let me help you, we can do this together.” [f/n] continues.
He knows all to well that she isn’t going to stop. Not until he gives in and let’s her help. It was attitude like this that made him fall in love with her.
A sigh escapes his lips as he walks over to her. Cupping her face in his hands, he leans in for a kiss. [f/n] latches onto him refusing to let him go. He holds to her slowly breaking the kiss. He gazes into her watery [e/c] eyes.
She asks, “If I can make one selfish request... Just stay. Just a little longer. Please.” She begs brokenly.
[insert the first user’s first name] can feel his heart breaking as he nods holding her tighter. “Of course my love.”
120 years later, set during Izuku’s new work-study with Endeavor
If there is one thing that Izuku understood about the former users is that they all undoubtedly had regrets. All of them had given up so much to protect the people they cared about and create a bright future without All for One. Izuku often feels guilty for living in the future that the seven before him had strived to create. In this mind they should be the ones living in this society. Not him. If there is a way he can bring them back to live in this era, he’d do it. Even if that means he has to or will die to do it.
Kiddo don’t you fucking dare.
Izuku jumps at a deep voice which sounds a little like Banjo Daigoro, the Fifth User of One for All. Embarrassedly Izuku rubs the back of his head. He should have known the vestiges can feel his thoughts. He mutters a soft apology but gives no explanation knowing that they already know his reasoning for such thoughts.
Walking down the sidewalk, Izuku walks with Katsuki on patrol.
“Can you actually talk with them?” Katsuki asks having heard Izuku mutter.
“Kind of. It’s only Mr. Banjo right now.” Izuku says.
“Must suck having a bunch of voices in your heard.” Katsuki says walking head of Izuku.
“Not really.” Izuku says then softly mummers, “I already know what that is like.”
Oh, good god I wanna hug this child.
The voice that speaks is a woman’s voice, so Izuku figures that is Shimura Nana. All Might’s master, Shigaraki Tomura’s grandmother, and the seventh One for All user.
A small smile appears on his face, as he is flattered that Nana wants to give him a hug.
Continuing their patrol, Izuku notices a young woman with [h/l], [h/c] hair, and [s/c] colored skin. The sight of his girl makes Izuku stop walking as he stares. Staring there is this sensation in his heart. He quickly figures out that this sensation is the result of one of the vestiges, but he can’t figure out which one.
[f/n]...?
So, it’s the first user causing this sensation in his heart. Izuku knows his voice the best because the dream he had before the fight between his class and class one B.
Isn’t that the name of your wife?
It is.
Didn’t she have a quirk canceler?
She did.
Then who is...?
Guys this could be her decedent.
Dont say that! You’re going to make him feel bad!
No, no! It’s okay, if that is her decedent then I’m glad she moved on.
Well why dont we go see for yourselves? Come on kiddo, go make her your friend.
Izuku wordlessly follows the woman to a park. She walks over to a bench and sits down. Izuku stops himself from walking over trying to figure out how to open a conversation with the woman. As he thinks, twiddling his thumbs, he doesn’t notice the woman is staring at him.
“Are you okay little hero?” The woman asks suddenly standing before him.
“Y-Yeah! I...I uh...yo-you looked lonely s-so I thought I’d come s-sit with you for a while.”
The woman giggles, “That’s so sweet of you. My name is Shigaraki [d/n]. What’s your name little hero?”
Shigaraki [d/n]?
Coincidence this lady has your last name?
Doubt it.
“Deku! My hero name is Deku it is nice to meet you Miss Shigaraki. S-Say you wouldn’t happen to know someone by the name of Shigaraki [insert the first user’s first name], would you?”
W-Wha-Why is he asking that!?
Clearly he hears us.
Yeah, but to ask that right off the bat is a little weird.
No, I think it’s a valid question when you know someone with the same last name.
“[insert the first user’s first name]? So that was his name.” [d/n] smiles.
“You know him?”
“Not personally, but my mother talked about him a lot. So see, [insert the first user’s first name] is my father’s name. Or at least that’s what mom always said.”
FATHER!?
Man is this one hell of a Wednesday!
[f/n]... S-Sh-She was... she...
Shiggy snap out of it!
“Whoa, really?!”
“Do you know him?” [d/n] asks.
“Kind of sorta.” Izuku admits. “If you dont mind me asking, what kind of stories did your mom tell you about him? All I know about him is that he was a man filled of justice and always did the right thing.”
“That’s what mom always said too. Why dont we sit and talk?” [d/n] suggests.
“Lead the why Miss Shigaraki!”
“Please, call me [d/n].”
“What kind of quirk do you have?”
“It’s a long life quirk. Which is really strange since my mother could cancel out quirks with her right hand and my dad had a quirk called One for All.” [d/n] explains.
“Wow!”
As [d/n] and Izuku sit on the park bench, [insert the first user’s first name] is still recovering from the shock of learning he has a daughter. It brings him to tears knowing that he left her when she was pregnant. He was such a horrible husband and [f/n] deserved so much better. Looking at this daughter through Izuku’s eyes he can easily see [f/n]. Hearing how [f/n] never dated or thought about remarrying hurts but at the same time he is glad that despite he was gone she remained faithful to him.
“So, are the rings you wear around your neck?”
“Hers? Yep! Before my dad left, he gave her his ring as a keepsake. Then when...she passed she gave me hers and his.” [d/n] answers with a smile.
[insert the first user’s first name] is breaking down in the vestige world hearing all of this.
“Deku are you okay?”
“Y-Yeah it’s just one of those days when you start crying for no reason.” Izuku lies.
“Had a few of those days myself.” [d/n] smiles. “Say, do you think my dad would have liked me?”
Izuku smiles brightly and says, “Yep! If he were here right now I know he would give you a big hug and tell you how much he loves you and how sorry he is for leaving.”
“Never said I was mad at him for leaving.” [d/n] chuckles. “I know that he had a had every intention of coming home. Deku,”
“Yeah?”
“If you ever fight All for One, knock his teeth out. His smile is creepy as hell.”
HAHA! She ain’t wrong.
Does she know that’s her uncle she’s talking about?
He has no right claiming to be her uncle.
“Yes ma’am!”

To Star Lake: Chapter 3
Rating: T Pairings: Todoroki Shouto/Sero Hanta Characters: Various Universe: Howls Moving Castle Au
Summary: A day of impossibilities starts with a mystery man, with mismatched eyes and cold hands, rescuing him in a dark alleyway as he attempted to go about his business and the pet name sweetheart being said a little too tenderly. It ends with another stranger cursing him in his own store after telling them to leave.
Things like this don’t happen to people like Sero Hanta.
AO3 Previous Chapter Next Chapter
----
“Stop fucking hovering, Deku.”
“He spent most of the night on that stool, Kacchan! What if he’s too sore to move?”
There’s the sound of something being set down, the crackling of firewood sounding endearingly angry as Sero is reluctantly pulled from sleep. Who or, rather, what was a Deku? His track record of meeting new people recently having been reduced to sentient inanimate objects, mentally running through a list of possibilities only to open his eyes and find not an object but a very, very human face.
Sero isn’t sure why he’s so disappointed by that fact.
It’s no surprise he’s as sore as he was the previous morning, if not more so, knowing he should be more concerned about the deafening crack his back makes as he sits up than he is, the concentrated pain in his spine seeming to bleed out into a more bearable ache that bloomed over his shoulder blades and rib cage. The kid, Deku if Bakugou was to be believed, was there in an instant hovering with his arms open, having absolutely no idea where to place them.
“I’m good.” Sero croaks, dismissing the kid with a wave of his hand, legs mid swing off the bed when someone knocks on the door, watching with humoured curiosity as the green haired boy runs down the stairs, back up them again, draping a cloak over his shoulders and changing his appearance with a pull up of his hood as Bakugou barks out what door it was.
How can it lead to Port Haven when Sero had come in through the wastes?
“Is the great wizard Frostfire present?”
His confusion of the name speaks volumes of how little information on magic had made it to the countryside, Sero pushing himself off of the bed with another grunt, smiling to himself when he notices his walking stick leaning against the arm rest of the sofa he’d previously been sleeping on. How had he gotten onto the sofa anyway? Surely that teenager at best hadn’t carried him over?
“He’s out at the moment, sir, but I’ll be sure to pass on any message.”
The glare of the morning sun makes him wince, rubbing his eyes with the palm of his free hand, blinking rapidly in the aftermath. He’d never seen the ocean before, never really left the small town he’d grown up in, living vicariously through Mina when she would talk so enthusiastically about everywhere she had visited to gather inspiration for the hat shop. He wonders, fondly, how mad they were going to be when he eventually came home and he revealed he’d finally left town, not because of them but because he had a run in with two wizards.
“It has been requested by his Majesty that all witches and wizards are to report to the capitol city at once for service in the war to come.”
How much of this would they believe though? The only reason he was due to the fact he was living it for how often did stories of curses, magic fires and scarecrows, and moving castles turn out to be true?  Not often enough to be true. How many stories of Shouto’s supposed victims had been proven false now? Too many for the concept of him as a heart eater to really have any credibility but not enough to dismiss them entirely.
“Oh, he’s not going to be happy about this.” The kid mutters walking up the steps, carry a scroll he deposits on the table, the form of an old man melting back into him as he pulled the hood down and cloak off. He jumps upon noticing Sero staring at him, Bakugou laughing at the teens expense in a way that was more cackle than anything else. “I forgot to ask! What’s your name? I’m Midoriya Izuku, also how did you get in here? Are you a wizard too? Are you one of Master Shouto’s friends?”
“I’m Sero Ha-”
“KINGSBURY DOOR!” Bakugou yells, cutting off Sero and pushing Midoriya back into a slight panic, yellow cape back on and the old man he had been moments before came back into view. Weren’t they in Port Haven? How were they getting knocks in Kingsbury? Sero leaning over the railing as teenager took a breath and turned the small dial above the handle, the sound of seagulls and the near by port being drowned by the clamour of a busy city, the rumble of cars and the sound of people going about their day.
“Hello, is this the residence of the wizard Iceflame?”
First Frostfire and now Iceflame, how many aliases did Shouto have anyway and why would he even need them? Perhaps he should stop going down that train of thought now, nip it in the bud before it gets out of hand, he has his own issues to deal with without getting caught up in the dramatics of wizards anymore than he already has done. Conversation with the men at the door over, Midoriya closes the door, resting his head against it before changing the small dial again, the vibrance of the city melting away into the dull pallor of the wastes and the gentle sound of rain fall.
“Sero, I walked in, no and no.” He offers in hopes of melting away at least some of the stress off of the other’s face, only for it to be replaced with confusion, the teenager still wearing that face as he walked up the stairs and deposited yet another scroll next to the one he’d been handed not even five minutes ago. Even Bakugou looks on the sceptical side of confusion, making it perfectly clear he didn’t believe a word Sero had just said.
“That doesn’t make sense, most people can’t just walk in here, especially those who aren’t friends with Shouto.” Midoriya stated firmly, a determined look on his face, Sero half concerned he was going to challenge him to a fight despite any assertion Sero may give that he was right and that he did not know who Shouto was, just the rumours that followed him everywhere.
“I’ve never met the guy.” Sero states flatly, earning another strange reaction from Midoriya, this time one of confused surprise, and an oddly smug look from Bakugou. Was he missing something here that he should know, the old man sighing before moving to inspect the cluttered counters around them, frowning at the sight of potions mixed with food, parchments filled with recipes draped over crockery that were perhaps beyond the point of saving.
How anyone lived like this was beyond him, knowing full well he wasn’t the tidiest but he’d never let his messes get to this point, wondering vaguely which side of the line between too busy to clean and too lazy to try the occupants of this house fell under. It’s why its so surprising when Sero finally manages to find food, still fresh and edible, hidden partially beneath a cloche, eyeing the bacon and eggs hungrily before looking up and checking for other ingredients.
Carbs. He was missing carbs, bread being the best suited for what he had in mind but he would take any at this point in order add some bulk to the meal. Vegetables he’d given up on looking for, the only splash of greenery coming from the patches of mould attached to what was once food residue. How was Midoriya an image of health in conditions like this, he was feeling ill just thinking about what layer in the deeper layers of mess.
“What are you doing?”
“Making breakfast.” He replies like it’s obvious, gently extracting the basket of meat and eggs from the side, wincing at the clatter of plates as they fell into the gap left behind, hooking it into his elbow and grinning as he finally spotted a loaf of bread on the table, still fresh and, with any luck, not entirely stale. “Do we have anything to make tea with?”
“Yes, we have a teapot but Kacchan doesn’t listen to anyone bar Shouto and even then, its reluctantly!” the panic in his voice is palpable, Sero only acknowledging his statement with a click of his tongue, setting the food down on a stool by the fire demon, turning his attention instead to the collection of pans hung against the wall. The second from the left is his best option, Sero thinks, big enough for two portions, maybe even three at a push, eyeing the irritated fire and wondering if it even ate.
“Oh, I’m sure he’ll listen.” Sero grins, perking up the way he always did when he was about to get Kaminari in trouble with Mina or vice versa, turning he cast iron frying pan in his hand. It’s a comfortable weight, pleasantly surprised that even with the aches and pains ridiculing his body he was able to hold it this easily, moving back over to the hearth, smile widening with every step as Bakugou started to look more and more like a pissed off cat. “Won’t you Bakugou?”
“Fuck off.” The crackle of fire wood and the floating specs of flame is more comforting than intimidating, Sero feeling more like he was in the presence of a friend than personified fire. “I aint doing shit for you.”
“I guess I’m telling Shouto of our deal then.” Sero smirks, voice dropping to a low whisper so Midoriya could not hear them, taking small joy from the way the fire seemed to still, looking away from the fire to the pan as he turned it in his hands again. He had become more daring with age, it seemed, knowing full well he’d have at least given it a second thought before speaking so brazenly with Bakugou. “Do I look like a man with much left to get fucked up by a wizard?”
The sound of steam, a billow of smoke, fire tempering down to a blue concentrated flame as Sero brings the pan down, flames kissing blackened iron and his hand hovering over metal to check how the pan was heating up. “Then have this curse from me, may all your food burn, bastard.” It doesn’t sting, no anger behind the words masquerading as a curse, Sero noting that the other seemed almost impressed again, electing to not comment on it.
There’s an awed whisper somewhere behind him of ‘Kacchan is doing what he says’, Sero shaking his hand as he moved it from the frying pan, finally hot enough, to the slices of bacon thick enough to be belly pork. Two or three? Two or three? He settles on three, unsure of if it was an apology slice to Bakugou or an extra one for Midoriya, a level of concern in him over the way the teenager stood shorter than him despite Sero having shrunk with age. Maybe this is why his friends referred to him as their dad jokingly.
Sero barely notices the creak of an opening door, the tap of footsteps on stairs, Sero too focused on the sizzling fat and inward lamentation at the lack of seasoning to give the new distraction his attention. “Master Shouto! You’re back early, you received summons from the palace as both aliases, what do we...” The teenager trails off before brightening again, Sero freezing as something cold radiates beside him.
Before a burning fire demon and yet it felt like all the warm had been sucked away, a shiver running down his spine as he looked up at the source of the drop in temperature and he feels himself freeze further.
Apparently, he had met Shouto after all.
It was the man from the alley way, the man who swept him off his feet and into the air, had let him float onto a balcony, kissed his knuckles and called him his. He’d not only met Shouto, he’d also been haunted by the man for the past thirty six hours, the curiosity over what it had all meant dying on his tongue as he remembered his bitterness from yesterday. It was Shouto’s fault he was in this predicament, Sero having only made the mistake of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
“Obedience isn’t like you.” A quiet quip, a light laugh in his voice as the sound of a gas stove seems to increasing in volume, Sero throwing himself further into cooking so he didn’t become lost in that voice all over again. Flip the bacon? Check. Add the eggs? Check. Empty shells lay on the edge of the hearth, the sizzle of opaquing whites an all too welcome distraction as the wizard spoke again, this time addressing Sero. “And you are?”
“Oh! That’s Sero.” Midoriya chirps in, Sero thankful for the teenager’s interruption, still not entirely sure of what he wanted to say to the wizard. ‘Thank you for saving me, by the way, I appreciate that the price of not being mugged was being a pensioner’ was too angry, too antagonistic for this time in the morning, smiling at the memory of his grandmother telling him that aggression should not be spoken before breakfast, least they sour the food.
“Here let me-”
“No.” His voice is firm, the silence in the kitchen stifling, as Sero looks up at the wizard, look as set as his tone, tightening his grip on the panhandle, challenging the other to try and take it from him. “I don’t trust people who let their kitchen be this messy to cook for me.” Maybe his new found age had made him too bold, watching shock overtake Shouto’s face before he’s laughing behind his hand again.
“Okay, that’s fair.” He leaves Sero’s side then, scooping up the eggshells and moving them closer to Bakugou, turning on his heel to busy himself with something behind the old man. A clatter of ceramic, the whistle of a boiling kettle and the awed curiosity from Midoriya that spilled from his lips like a waterfall, Shouto answering every single one with patience.
Maybe the rumours were incorrect after all, Sero surmises, turning to the table, pan in hand, to find a corner haphazardly cleared, for how many Casanovas spent their time answering a multitude of questions on the properties of rosehip tea from a teenager that was made of curiosity and wonder. He’s barely taken three steps when Shouto is by his side again, strangely reminiscent of the alleyway only this time the cold hand is on his shoulder, not his waist, the warm hand brushing over his own holding the pan before gripping it just above the towel.
Why wasn’t that burning his hand? “Here, let me.”  It’s difficult to not listen to what that voice, kitchen towel falling to the floor with a dull thump, hand slipping from his shoulder to the middle of his back to give an encouraging push forward. Midoriya is in the middle of pouring tea when he takes his seat, eyebrows raising in mild disbelief at the small bowl he is given in place of a cup, noting that the makeshift cups for both Shouto and Deku seem to be in a similar state of not being remotely cup or mug shaped.
Plate of food slide towards him, Sero nearly drops his head into his hands as Midoriya offers him a selection of two spoons and a fork, commenting a little awkwardly that he could only have one as ‘the rest are dirty’, Sero taking the fork, making sure to wipe it on his shirt before trusting it enough near his food. He’d been through the wastes and slept in this shirt yet he still trusted it more than this kitchen area.
“So, is there a reason why you’re in my kitchen, Sero?” His voice isn’t accusatory, just a gentle curiosity that takes Sero by surprise and renders him off guard. Shouldn’t he be more annoyed by this? Was a random man that much of a common occurrence in his home that he found no need to question it or was it something else? He daren’t entertain the idea that Shouto not only knew he was cursed but could see him as he actually was.
“I’m your new house keeper, Bakugou hired me.” There’s a choked noise from the hearth, Sero once again questioning where this boldness came from, focusing on looking at the cooling eggs as opposed to giving Shouto any form of visual acknowledgement. He’s going to end up in more trouble, the wave of confidence that came in the form of believing things couldn’t get worse seeming to have dried out already.
Things could get worse. There was still so much he could lose.
“It would be nice to have a more organised kitchen.” It’s Midoriya that speaks now, contemplative, Sero biting back a laugh at the offended noise from Shouto, feeling more at ease. He’s not sure what it is, something about the green haired boy is putting him at ease, the tension that was slowly building in his shoulders slipping away just as easily as it came. “Would probably stop customers commenting on everything.”
The younger pair slip into easy conversation, mostly one sided as Midoriya talked of practicalities within their art of magic, Shouto only offering the odd word here and there in either agreement of dismissal, Sero tuning out the conversation easily enough. Where would he even begin with a place like this? Eyes flicking from the pile of books and parchment before him, to the dire state of the sideboards, looking past Shouto to look at the hearth, grimacing. He hasn’t known Bakugou long but he already knows cleaning the mountains of ash and charcoal from the hearth was going to be an endeavour in and of itself. Maybe he should save that for last.
“Sero?” He jumps at his name, looking back to the magical pair and finding them both looking at him, Sero blinking owlishly under the mix of concerned and humoured looks. Why did Shouto look like that? What had he missed? “I asked you what was in your pocket.”
His pocket?
Wrinkled hands pat trouser pockets, bemusement clear as day when something crinkles under his touch, slipping his hand into his pocket to find a note. How long had that been there? These had been fresh out of the drawer when he’d put them on, his only handling of paper when he left the note for Mina and Uraraka, eyeing the purple note warily before placing it in Shouto’s extended, expectant hand.
Paper touches skin. Paper explodes into blue flame and ash, hands recoiling at the flash of heat as intricate details scorch themselves into the table, Sero quickly checking his hand for any burns before looking to Shouto, no longer weird in his welcome but aggravated, a tension building in his shoulders, something about the expression seeming weirdly familiar but Sero couldn’t place why.
The silence stretches as a pale hand presses against the table, the smell of acrid, burnt flesh filling the air as blue fire sparked to life around Shouto’s hand. Sighing deeply, Shout stands, the mark on the table gone and the hand that had been on the table now cradled to his chest, the remainder of his tea downed, his half eaten plate of food dumped into Bakugou’s flames.
“Move the castle seventy miles north, I’ll be needing hot water too.”
It’s Midoriya who first breaks the silence at the table, Bakugou cursing up a storm towards Shouto in the background as he turned to Sero, a set look on his face that the teenager was failing to not show as threatening. “Are you working for Dabi?” His voice is low, Sero growing more confusion at the sudden tension. He hadn’t known who Shouto was until about ten minutes ago, how was he supposed to know who this Dabi was?
“Kid I have no idea who Da-”
“Pass that on to little Shouto, would you.”
Something snaps in him then. A white boiling rage that was so out of character for him that it threatened to suffocate him. Dabi. Dabi was the man following Shouto. Dabi was the bastard who had done this to him. Slamming his hand on the table, he barely feels the pain from the impact, Midoriya jumping back from him and even Bakugou stops his tirade against Shouto.
“I do not work for Dabi.” He spat his name out like it was poison. “He’s the reason I-”
His lips seal, a pain developing in his vocal cords as he tried to speak of the curse, tried to tell the increasingly panicked looking teenager about how he wasn’t in his seventies but twenty four, how he’d been cursed for just being seen with his master. Sero’s attempts to speak of his predicament end with an angry sob, coughs wracking his sore throat, a warm hand rubbing his back as another cup of tea was slid towards him, the comfort Midoriya offered welcome but doing little to ease his mood.
“I don’t work for Dabi.” He repeated softly, the floral tea providing another performative sense of comfort, warming his old bones and easing the physical aches and pains that plagued him.
“I know, I’m sorry I asked.”

HANDCUFF HC PART 2
anonymous: Yes umm hi I was wondering if you could do the handcuff hc for kirishima todoroki and shinso if you don’t that’s fine but I really like your writing thank you
Im sorry anon I currently dont write for Shinsou...but Im thinking I may in the future! Anyways, I did Kirishima and Todo for ya, as requested :) (Also-these are kinda long...sorry not sorry?)
Hancuff HC Part 1 w/ Izuku and Bakugo
(RULES |  MASTERLIST| | REQUESTS OPEN!!! :))
Kirishima
Tumblr media
For a while now, Kirishima had noticed you’d been kinda distant
You two had been officially dating for only a few weeks, but you had been friends for quite a while now and he pretty much knew you like the back of his hands
So when you weren’t smiling as much as you used to, weren’t being as happy, and seemed to be more quiet around him, he knew something was up
But everytime he would ask, you seemed to brush it off, as if it wasn't there
“Its okay Kiri, Im fine!” you’d reply, giving him that smile that use to be so much more bright
He really couldn’t figure it out- did he do something wrong? Did he make you mad? Did he say something? WHAT WAS IT?
Poor baby is kinda insecure so he’d instantly be so worried your breaking up with him or something
The day he finally decided he was going to do something was when he was talking to Momo, who was a good friend of yours, wondering if she heard anything from you about your feelings and why you’d been acting so distant
While he was listening to Momo and how she didnt hear about anything from you, he saw you from behind
He noticed that your face fell slightly when you saw him with her, and before he could even say “hi” or ask what was wrong, you instantly walked the other way
Poor Kiri STILL could not understand what was wrong- but he was going to….with the help of his buddies of course!
After class, Kirishima went to Kaminari and told him about his predicament
since Kaminari is always talking about how he knows women so well, he should know what to do, right?
WRONG
“...so I dont know what do man,” he sighed, “Got any ideas?”
Kaminari looked up thoughtfully, thinking about what Kirishima should do
He then snaps his fingers, a light bulb going off in his head
Kaminari grinned, proud of himself- “Dude, I got the perfect idea!”
ALSO WRONG
---------------------------
Kirishima had asked you to come up to his room-no reason why, just to “hang out”
You smiled sadly at his text, climbing up the stairs to his dorm, thinking about his talk with Momo you had witnessed
You couldn't help it, but you were feeling insecure- Kirishima was such a wonderful and caring person, and even more so as a boyfriend! He was attractive, passionate, hardworking...he was so perfect you couldnt help but think that maybe...you werent as perfect for him as he was for you….
Was there somebody out there better for him? Was he maybe going to find them and leave you? Your heart twinged painfully at the idea, knowing full well you’d be destroyed when-if- that day came
You sighed, preparing yourself to push those feelings down and be happy- you knocked on the door, but, no answer
You stood there for a few moments, wondering what was going on- Kirishima always opened the door so enthusiastically, swinging it open even before your knuckles hit the wood of the frame
You knocked again, but still- no answer. After a few minutes, you got impatient, trying the door knob, which was, surprisingly, unlocked
You creaked the door open, peering into the dark room- it looked completely vacant
Your prayed that this wasn’t some stupid prank his friends were doing on you as you hesitantly walked into the darkness
Your heart fell into your stomach as the door suddenly closed, a cold hand grabbing your wrist
“Oh my god,” you thought frantically, “the villains are here.”
You couldn't even scream, you were so terrified, expecting your ultimate demise when-
“Geez, y/n why are you shaking so bad? You okay babe?” Kirishima asked, his voice full of concern as he turned on the lights
You looked around, adjusting your eyes as you stared at your boyfriend with complete disbelief that he’d do something so cruel to you
“What the hell-No I am not fine Kirishima! Why would you scare me that bad-”
you looked down frantically, your heart still pumping as if you had just sprinted a mile, remembering the cold hand touching your skin
“ what, what's around my wrist?”
“Oh-I-well-Im sorry-I didnt mean-” he was completely flustered, he didnt know what to do first
Does he tell you sorry and hug you, or just tell you straight out why he did that?
He also feels completely stupid- when Kaminari told him to catch you by surprise, Kirishima didn't mean to scare you in the process
At the time, getting you to his room and handcuffing you in the dark seemed perfectly right- now seeing your terrified face makes him feel like total crap.. He didnt really think that it'd scare you, but now thinking about it, of course it did!
Geez, he was the worst boyfriend ever, he thought to himself, wishing he could kick himself for thinking so dumbly
“If you were into this type of stuff, Kiri, you said, “ your face now completely flushed red, “all you had to do was tell me,”
You looked down, not able to look him in the eye
He looked at you confused, not understanding at first what you were implying- into what stuff?
He then realized what you meant...he lured you into his room, shut the door on you, and then handcuffed you- now his face was as red as his hair- oh my god, he really screwed up, now you think he’s some creepy wierdo! He literally wanted to crawl into a hole
“Oh my god- y/n- I swear that’s not what this was- Jesus Christ- uh-” he jumbled out, feeling stupider and stupider the more he talked
“Then what is this, exactly?”
“Uh-” he stuttered, his brain feeling fried- god why couldn't he just talk!
You looked at your boyfriend, concern written all over your features. “Kirishima?”
He sighed, looking down at your delicate wrist
“Baby, please dont be mad,” he asked, his voice now soft, “but I-I noticed lately you’ve been more down in the dumps. I’ve tried to talk to you about it and you brushed it off, but I just know something’s wrong with you, and I just want to make you happy, princess. I don't want to see you sad!”
“So…” he continued, his face a little less red, “I went and talked to Kaminari to see what I should do and he told me to do- this- so you’d have to talk to me…”
You looked at Kirishima’s obviously embarrassed face and couldn't help but giggle from how adorable he was. Yes, you did feel bad for worrying him so much, but it was pretty cute how hard he tried to make you feel better.
And you were also pretty confused- why Kaminari? The dude has gotten laid as much times as Mineta- so practically NONE-
you mentally told yourself to sit with Kirishima one day and explain Kaminari was NOT the way to go for girl advice
“Thank you, Eiji, for trying so hard,” you thanked sweetly, making him feel a little better, “and you know, your right, I have been feeling down lately…”
You told him everything, every insecurity and doubt you’d been having for the last few weeks
Being the good boyfriend he was, he listened calmly to each and every word, even though he desperately wanted to say how untrue all those thoughts were! He was dating you because he loved you, every perfectly imperfect part of you- if he didnt love you, he wouldn't be with you, plain and simple. But he was already so desperately falling for you he couldn't imagine himself without you...to be honest, he felt the same way sometimes
He instantly wrapped you in a bear hug, feeling terrible for not even knowing this all happening! But he was so happy you finally were able to come out and talk to him, even if it did take a little coaxing
“Oh my gosh y/n Im so sorry you were feeling like that!” he’d say, squeezing you close to him, “I love you so much, I’d never leave you-ever- and you are perfect for me, even if you don't think you are ...please dont ever forget that!”
“Okay Eiji, I wont, I promise!” you laughed, “But you're squishing me!”
He instinctively lets go, allowing you to breathe more properly, “Sorry babe!” He’d chuckle, rubbing the back of his neck
“Could, you...maybe-” you smiled, clanking the handcuffs on their wrists
“Oh geez, sorry!” he’d chuckle nervously, rummaging through his pockets for the key and unlocking it
“Thanks,” you’d smile, rubbing your wrists
Then a thought dawned on you as you were both walking out of his room
“Hey Kiri?” you asked
“Hm?”
“Where did you get the handcuffs?”
“Oh, from Kaminari! He said he just had them lying around, and that it’d be fine if I borrowed  them!” he smiled as if it was the most innocent thing ever
“Wait….” you and Kirishima  thought about this...Kaminari...handcuffs….
“Oh my god, ew!” you’d look down at your wrists as Kirishima realized...why maybe Kaminari had handcuffs…and his face turned beet red
“Im going to go wash my hands... with bleach!” you’d scream out, Kirishima following and trying hard not to laugh at your disgusted face
Todoroki
Tumblr media
FInally, hero training class- the one class you actually looked forward to
And the one class where you could star at your crush, Todoroki without being seen
- you sat in the most perfect area-
You were in the back, where Todoroki sat a few rows above to your left, so you could stare at his complexion all class without a single person knowing
It was so hard not too- he was so damn pretty with that perfect red and white part in his hair, those mismatched eyes, his strong jawline-
“...any questions?” Midnight asked the class, everyone seeming to be excited for today’s lesson...except you. You looked completely confused as your trance on Todorki’s face was broken.
“Hey, y/n! You okay girlie?” Mina asked, a giddy smile on her face
“Yeah, totally!” you replied, shaking off the intense gaze you had on Todoroki. “What’d I miss?”
“Oh my gosh you didnt hear!” Mina squealed, “we’re going to do a partner training exercise- the teachers are going to handcuff us to another student, and we have to go through the simulated city with the training bots from the Entrance Exams! Cool, right?!”
“Uh, right!” you said apprehensively- you couldnt think of something more terrifying as a training exercise, but everyone else seemed pretty interested
You gave a glance at Todoroki, noticing his calm demeanor against the wave of hysteria going on in the classroom
“You think we’d be able to pick our own partners?” you asked
“Nah, I dont think that’ll happen, Midnight said the groups are already pre-picked based on abilities…” Mina said, “but if I get Bakugo, I will literally barf!”
You laughed, knowing full well Mina would hate that...she hung out with Bakugo, but she couldnt really stand him without Kirishima at his side to cool him down
You sighed, secretly wishing you didnt get Bakugo either as Midnight read off the names
“Deku….Froppy”
“Iida...Invisible Girl”
“MIna...Bakugo” (at which Mina yelled out “Goddammit!”, making the whole class laugh and Bakugo immediately going into  rant)
Kirishima….Uraraka
Todoroki...y/n…..
Midnight kept on listing out names, not even noticing the total chaos she set off in you
Your eyes shot up, not believing your ears- you and Todoroki- were partners!?
Todoroki looked back at you, his face completely unreadable as your cheeks burst with color
Oh Jesus why did he have to be so pretty?
You gave him a small smile as your face turned red, and he raised his hand, acknowledging your kindness and then instantly turning around
You let out a sigh, feeling your body turn antsy- this training exercise was going to be the death of you
-------------------------
You were now both in the “city”, Todoroki dangerously close to you as you both walked the streets apprehensively, searching for the towering bots that would be coming at any moment
You gave Todoroki a side glance, catching a glimpse of that handsome face
The whole time you guys had not even talked once, making your hopes get crushed slightly- its been 10 minutes! And its like he hasnt even acknowledged your presence...even though you're literally attached to him now
You sighed, trying to not let your self doubt get the best of you-
Todoroki was generally always quiet, this is him just at his finest right? You gave his face another glance, cant helping to admire the scar around his eye that just made your heart swoon
“Is everything alright y/n? You’ve been staring at me for quite some time now,” he asked so nonchalanty
You jumped in shock, feeling your face erupt in red
“I-uh-yeah,actually Im fine!” your voice went up like 10 octaves, making you cringe in disgust
Todoroki turned to you, noticing how red you had gotten
“Y/n?” he asked in that husky voice that made your heart stop beating, “are you alright? Your extremely flushed.” He placed the back of his hand on your forehead, making your face 10x redder
He knows you two are  supposed to be in training, but if your not feeling well, he cant allow you to keep training! That would just be improper
He lets his hand sit there, those mismatched eyes boaring into yours as you bite your lower lip, not knowing what to do- it felt like you were just melting against his touch
“I’ve noticed everytime I see you your very flushed, y/n,” he asked, his voice full of concern, “are you sure you’re truly not sick?”
“Y-yes Todo I promise, Im not sick,” you smiled, your body going haywire- he’s noticed your blushes. God no why!
“Lets just focus on the training simulator,” you tried to change the subject in order to keep your face from getting any warmer, sadly pulling away from his touch
“I- Agreed,” he looked down at the ground, as if something he wanted to say was struggling to come out
You kept trucking forward throughout the city, trying to ignore Todoroki’s presence beside you...it was so intoxicating, God, if you could just look at him again-
“y/n!” Todoroki yelled- you were again in your thoughts, not even noticing the giant ROBOT RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOU
He instantly scooped you up in your arms, activating his ice quirk to allow him to slide away from the giant fist that slammed into the ground where you two stood
Your face instantly erupted in red again, feeling Shouto’s tone muscles through his hero suit as he worked to get you out of danger
He looked down at you, causing your face to become more red
“Y/n, please- I think your sick-”
“Im-Im not sick!” you yelled, exasperated at yourself for becoming such a wreck in front of him.
But really- how could he be this unaware to your feelings? It was a blessing and a curse to be honest
“You’re cheeks are extremely red, your stuttering, and your vision is clealry impaired- you didnt even see the enemy, y/n! Im going to signal to  Midnight that  we cant continue, you need to go to the nurses’s-”
“No Todo, we are not doing that!” you said slightly stern- hell you’d let this dumb crush make you and Shouto fail!
You both looked at the robot coming at you two- using your quirk, you slowed the robot some, and Todoroki freezed it with his quirk
“Quick- that’ll only hold it for a few minutes,” he replied quickly, you two going into a run
“Are you sure you don’t want me to pick up y/n? It’ll alleviate the pain-”
“Todoroki, for the last time, Im not sick!” you yelled between breathes, exasperated by his blindness to your feelings, “Im acting like this because I like you, okay! I like you alot Shouto.”
You continued running, not even able to look him in the eye- you were a wreck- you just confessed!!
Shouto didnt say anything, letting your words sink in
You- liked him? He couldnt believe it- he knew he was extremely quiet and reserved, especially around you...but he couldn't believe you would like him back. Every since you came to UA he thought you were exceptionally beautiful and absolutely the light of everyone’s life, including his. Your personality was endearing and your smile so gorgeous he couldn't stand it. He wasn’t well with crushes, or girls for that matter, so he just admired you from afar, but he wished he had the courage to talk to you more and just confess himself
“I-I think I might be ‘sick’ too,” he turned to you slightly, smiling, his cheeks slightly flushed red
---------------Meanwhile in the class-------------
Everyone was crowded in the viewing room, watching the monitor’s on the screen, focusing on you and Shouto’s every move
Unknowing to you two, UA had planted mics in the training city you two were in, so everyone heard your confession
A gasp filled the room, the girls squealing in happiness and the boys very confused
Kaminari looked slightly depressed, because he thought you were pretty cute and now he couldn't flirt with you anymore, and Kirishima kept going on about how “manly” it was for you to confess so honestly
Uraraka was squealing onto Deku’s arm about how happy she was you finally said it (as Deku agreed as red as a tomato)
Mina just laughed hysterically
‘HE THOUGHT SHE WAS SICK!”
She never let you live that moment down….EVER

Hello~ In the Eri Critical post you mentioned you almost made Toru a makeshift OC and could I ask you to elaborate on that? She's a side character and imo Horikoshi hasn't given much to work with, so isn't any depth or expansion added by other writers gonna make her different to the canon? What metric do you use to judge if you strayed too far? I ask cause I'm writing a fic where Toru is more prominent and thus I will have to expand on her character.
This was a hard question for me to answer because you’re right. We have nearly nothing to work with when it comes to Toru, which sucks when you want to write a story with her. Therefore nearly anything we do is in a way “fanon.” I have run into this problem myself as I’ve tried to write her in a main role as well. So, this where I have to apologize to people who try to write for Eri. It’s near impossible to write for a character where we’re given only crumbs to work with without shifting them into Ocs. So how do we combat it? I dunno. But here’s how I try; The first question I ask myself is this, “is the character performing this action or feeling the way they are because that’s how they would in this situation? Or it because it’s how I want them to respond or feel?” If the answer is ever the latter, then I go back and think some more. For example, Toru likes Caramel. It’s her favorite food. If she turns it down, there has to be a reason; sore tooth, too depressed to eat, etc. She can’t turn down the candy just because I, the author, say so.
Don’t fall into the trap and make a character react the way you would. Make sure to ask yourself if this is how the character would do it.
Next what I try to do is take what little we do see in canon and expand on that. As for the metric for when I've gone too far—it’s complicated-ish? Below is what I know about Toru off the top of my head. If I’ve strayed too far from any of these points without a reason, then I either need to go back or make a reason that would make sense for her to act differently from “canon.” For example, Toru isn’t very strong in canon as she’s the third-worst in class. If I want to make her strong I would have to provide a reason why such as training montage or science magic. Keep in mind all my knowledge comes from the manga as I haven’t watched the anime. Hopefully, it’ll help when writing Toru.
*The biggest thing to keep in mind is that Toru loves her quirk and is very proud of it. In fact, she places a great deal of confidence in it, even when we see over and over that it’s not perfect. She’s vulnerable to cold, she can be revealed easily, etc. Yet she never tries to overcome these flaws, instead, she seems to ignore them. Thinking about it, she seems to have put all her eggs in one basket by focusing sorely on stealth in the story. (It’s said she can fight, but we don’t see anything impressive.) When she discovers her light manipulation, she works on that, but that’s because it's a part of her quirk. This can be a big weakness for her arc, refusing to admit that her quirk isn’t flawless and she needs to focus on other things like agility and strength building. **This would explain why she doesn’t get a real costume (outside of the meta reasons). In her head, she’s thinking she doesn’t need to waste time with armor, she just needs to get better at hiding/sneaking. (And being naked isn’t a big deal to her.) *Something that differs from fanon is that in canon she’s actually fairly confident. She’s usually portrayed as insecure about herself in fanfics because she “doesn’t have a face.” However, in the story, Toru seems to have the most confidence of all the girls. I have never seen an instance where she’s down about herself. This is most likely because her quirk allows her not to be judged by appearances. Actually, now that I seem to think about it, she might be putting her whole identity in her quirk, which is seen as pretty cool. *She seems to like to poke fun and tease others. She’s aware that she’s naked, but she doesn’t see it as a big deal. She sees it as funny—or at least people’s reactions to her being naked. When she strips she usually brings it to attention, then pretends to be shy or upset. **The fact her favorite thing is hidden prank shows adds to this. **She uses the lack of appearance to troll others too by saying she looks like a Geisha and an old saint. ***May have some knowledge in history. *She’s optimistic and always looks on the bright side when she can. *Usually easy going. Doesn’t seem to like dwelling on things. If she’s mad, she’ll huff and puff, but will then move on with her life. Though she may occasionally attack an offender. *She’s very friendly and bubbly. *She’s a bit of a ditz. An example is how she forgot to put a rage away in the light novels and knocked Aizawa out. *VERY SMALL, but I noticed she’s one of the few to get annoyed with Bakagou (for two seconds, but still). She was the only one to call him out when he told Izuku he should have fought Shigaraki and grumbled at him when Bakagou was happy no one else was going to be able to do the internships. YMMV, though. *She’s not a great student. This could be out of laziness or depending way too much on her quirk to get her through school. I think it’s the latter. As I said, she has WAY too much faith in her quirk. *She likes cute stuff, but in the manga, she dresses very casually. **Seems to be fond of no sleeve shirts and knee-high socks. *She worked with the Gadget Hero as an intern, so she may have a SMALL knowledge of robotics. **This feeds into the theory of how she got into UA, which states she found the off button. *She likes caramel candy the best. *She is confirmed to have two parents. Also, a trick I do is that when Canon doesn’t give me enough meat on a character, I look at their astrology! (And blood types for anime as Japanese have fun with the idea that personality can be affected by our blood types.) A lot of authors like to try and make things match for fun.
That’s all I got. I suppose the only thing I can say is that as long as you don’t stray too far from what we see in canon without a reason, write her however you want. Most readers will be forgiving with characters like this.
If anyone else can help, I’m sure we’d all appreciate it!
I really hoped this helped anon. Like I said, I wasn’t sure how to answer this, so there’s a chance I babbled and did everything but answer your question. Thanks for the message!

Coming Down (Prologue)
Tumblr media
Warnings: attempted suicide, suicidal thoughts, suicide baiting.
Summary: Izuku Midoriya takes his childhood best friend's advice and jumps off of the roof of his middle school, but the world isn't finished with him.
Word Count: 3.2k
here it is on ao3!
The air nearly knocked Midoriya off balance, pushing and pulling at his petite frame from where he stood. He looked down at the ground, where his composition book laid in the fountain, covered in soot. The edges were burnt and torn, the dim embers put out once it hit the water. The writing on the front was faded from the treatment, ink seeping into the surrounding areas as the water contaminated the molecular integrity of it. He made no move to retrieve the book, instead standing with his hands at his sides, fists clenching and unclenching slowly.
The echoing footsteps and laughter behind him slowly faded as the blond and his squadron of followers left. The green-haired boy listened to their torturously slow retreat, gaze locked on the wet notebook sitting in the fountain water three stories down. His hand came up to clasp the iron railing on the roof, knuckles white as he leaned closer to the edge and let his eyes find the concrete directly below. Bakugou and the others had cornered him up here after the final bell, following him up the flights of stairs he had taken to give himself privacy.
Earlier that day while he was on his way to school, the most amazing thing he could have imagined happened to him: he’d met his hero. After the man with the blinding white smile had saved him from walking into the street and nearly being run down by a car (the boy had once again fallen into one of his muttering spells and hadn’t even realized he was crossing while the light was still green), he had found it almost impossible to speak at all. How he managed to get an autograph was beyond him, but the evidence was right there, sprawled across a spread of pages that was now soaked in dirty, pigeon infested water.
Once he had finally managed to find his tongue, he’d asked All Might the question that had been itching at the back of his mind for years and years, having manifested the day he was told by a doctor that he was quirkless. He regretted having ever opened his mouth now. He could have gone the rest of his life with an ignorant bliss clouding his mind and chasing a dream that he believed in.
There was no reason to believe now; the Symbol of Hope’s word was final.
The book taunted him now. He wasn’t sure why he had kept carrying it around all day with that thick signature burning a hole through it, but it became clear once he’d pushed the hopeless thought of heroism from his mind. Despite having his dreams crushed in such a devastating way, he met his idol. He got his idol’s signature! Surely Kacchan had to hear about this, the both of them adored All Might when they were younger. Kacchan grew out of it, but Midoriya never quite did.
Kacchan didn’t sound like he cared when Midoriya told him what happened. He called him names - the usual ones, but they still hurt - and told him to fuck off. That was the normal, it had been for the past three years. The green-eyed boy wasn’t sure what made his childhood best friend flip the switch and decide to go from the usual taunting, little-kid rudeness he’d grown up dishing out to the outright bullying that he now threw the smaller boy’s way, but maybe it was for the best after all.
Midoriya was never going to be a hero, he knew that now. Kacchan didn’t need to be held down by a quirkless nobody, not when everyone knew how far he’d go in the hero world.
Maybe it was better for him to push Midoriya away with cruel words and actions. Maybe it was better for Midoriya to take Kacchan’s advice, the gruff words that the blond spoke just moments ago settling deep within his chest, clenching and twisting painfully until the boy grasped at his shirt to alleviate it.
The book was still taunting him down there, looking up at him like the reflection of a mirror. He blinked, finding tears burning at his eyes, but not falling. His body felt tired, slumped over slightly as his brushed out green curls hung over his eyes. The sun was beating down on his back, absorbed by the black fabric of his middle school uniform. A paper came sliding by as the wind picked up all but for a second, Midoriya stopped it with his boot, then bent down to pick it up.
It was a page torn out of his notebook - images of Bakugou tearing a few pages out and casting them aside before tossing the burnt book over the railing flashed through his mind- that was covered in scribbles and scattered thoughts. He stared at the discarded page in his hand for a long time, fingers tracing over the crumples that his friend had put into it. For what seemed like an eternity, he stood there and stared at the paper. Then, he shrugged his backpack off and dropped it to the ground, sitting down beside it. He fished a pencil from the bag and quickly erased the scribbles and drawings, flattening the page out against the warm concrete.
Turning the pencil around in his hand, he began writing in his neatest style, wanting his words to come across clear enough to read. His hand was shaking and he pressed down harder against the paper to correct the movement, mumbling the word ‘weak’ to himself over and over. He wrote to his mom first, letting his words stretch to the very end of the page before signing it and adding a heart. He then turned the page over and let his trembling hand hover over the blank canvas, watching a warm, wet tear slide down his cheek and land on the expanse. He sniffled, blinking his eyes a few times to let the tears fall where they may, then wiped at his raw cheeks with the back of his hand, carefully scribbling out ‘Kacchan’ at the top of the other side. Time passed and the only noises he could hear were the rustling of the tree leaves as the wind antagonized them and the quick scribbling of lead on paper. He signed the back of the page once it was also full and carefully tucked the paper beneath the weight of his backpack, leaving it on the floor as he stood on shaking legs.
He looked at the iron railing again, stepping forward and running his finger along the chipping paint. Pink lips parted to release a long breath, green hair whipping around in the wind. His eyes still stung, but no more tears were falling, surprisingly. Kacchan, and everyone really, always called him a crybaby for showing such a weak emotion at the slightest inconvenience.
“Am I brave now?” he wondered aloud, “I’m not crying anymore.”
The wind was the only one to answer him, a gust once again racking against his small frame and pushing him toward the railing. The muttering set in then as he bit at the side of his thumb.
“ Yeah, keep sucking on your thumb, crybaby, ” he mumbled, voice dropping just slightly to imitate the blond’s gruff one. “How should I go about this? Logic will overrule emotion, so maybe if I face the other way so that I can’t look down…”
His muttering lasted how long he couldn’t tell, but by the time he could move his numb limbs, he was swinging one leg over the railing. He gripped the iron for support, pressing his lower back against it as the toes of his boots just barely dipped over the ledge of the roof. His chest was aching from the small and shallow breaths he was taking, so to put himself at ease, he took one deep breath and slowly turned himself around so that he was facing where he’d left his backpack on the roof.
Tears wanted to fall, but he refused to let them. He stood there, gripping the railing for the longest time and willing himself to loosen his grip. He was snapped out of his trance by someone calling his name. He wondered if he imagined it, the gruff tone and the obvious annoyance in the words calling his name from inside the stairway, not yet in range to be seen or to see him. He had to have imagined it, there was no reason that Bakugou would come back upstairs. He hadn’t forgotten anything, he had said all he needed to say, he had to get home or Aunty Mitsuki would be mad.
Something in Midoriya’s chest clenched painfully. He’s mentioned Mitsuki in his note to Bakugou, asking him to tell her he loved her and was appreciative of all the kindness she showed him through the years before he and her son’s friendship ended. Had it been enough? Should he have written her something entirely as well? And what about Masaru? The soft-spoken man had always entertained Midoriya’s mumbling with a small amused smile, he’d always been like a father to the small, nervous boy. Didn’t he deserve more than just a mention in his note to Bakugou?
His muttering returned and he raised one hand to his mouth, nipping at the skin around his thumbnail. The movement nearly made him lose his balance on the ledge, but he adjusted his other hand to keep himself upright, watching with wide, teary eyes as his friend came into view. The door to the stairway creaked as it was pushed open, its heavy weight slamming it closed as the blond let go of the knob and looked around the roof. Terrified forest-green eyes met crimson as the hard edge slowly left them and was replaced with something like fear.
“Deku?”
Midoriya’s mouth went dry when the silence stretched between them. The staircase was a few feet away and Bakugou seemed to be stuck in place, hands twitching at his sides and chest starting to heave as if his breath was picking up. The moss-haired boy swallowed, dropping his thumb from his mouth and letting a hot tear slide down his freckled cheek, other hand relaxing and releasing its grip on the railing. His mind swam with the same thought over and over: if I back down now, I’ll be weak.
He watched Bakugou lunge into a sprint his way right as he tipped backwards and let his eyes find the blue sky above him.
“Don’t you think you went too far this time?”
Bakugou’s already furrowed eyebrows ached as he knitted them together further and shoved at the other boy’s arm, jostling him to the side.
“All I did was blast his stupid book, he’ll cry about it like he always fuckin’ does and then be back on my dick tomorrow morning.”
The other laughed, nodding and imitating Deku’s higher-pitched voice.
“K-K-Ka-acchan! I, uh, I l-like your h-hair!”
“Ah, shut up,” Bakugou snapped, rolling his eyes.
These guys always tried too hard to get him to like them. It was annoying. At least Deku had the decency to know Bakugou hated him.
“Not that, man you…” the boy looked around, then continued in a hushed voice, looking like a scolded puppy.
The timidness reminded him of Deku and he felt a new wave of annoyance rising up in his chest. They burst through the front doors of the school after clearing the staircase. It was less crowded than usual since they’d decided to make time to follow Deku upstairs to his little hideout on the roof and fuck with him.
He wasn’t sure when the - mostly - playful teasing had turned sour on his end. Deku had always been annoying, but once word got around that he was quirkless, kids just started giving him a harder time and the teachers in their lives just never made an effort to earnestly correct the cruel behavior. He was loud and abrasive, and he had one of the coolest quirks growing up in their small community and shitty school district. It was decided early on that he’d be the one to go to UA and represent them, and the idea never bothered him. All the kids were either jealous of him or wanted to be him.
The teachers were always more lenient with him when it came to assignments or disciplinary actions, knowing they’d need to build up their future hero as much as possible. Growing up in an environment where he rarely got told ‘no’ and got praised for his quirk on a daily basis helped frame who the blond now was as a person. He decided early on that he probably couldn’t be friends with the quirkless kid since Deku would always be clinging to him, so he started to slowly but surely push the other away.
He was content with just growing apart, like most childhood friends do eventually, but Deku was stubborn. He always insisted on hanging out with Bakugou and his other friends despite how mean they were to him, shoving and calling him names. It didn’t seem to sink into his thick, curly-haired skull that they didn’t want him around. Still, the smaller boy persisted, and it pissed Bakugou off to no end.
How could Deku deal with the mistreatment and still always come crawling back? Bakugou deduced early into the hazing that there had to be some reason Deku hadn’t fucked off yet; Deku must have had some huge gay crush on him.
The thought alone didn’t necessarily bother him, in fact, it made sense. They’d been friends since preschool so it was only natural that one of them would get curious about their feelings for the other. What puzzled him is why those feelings had remained even after Bakugou had tried so hard to annihilate them with his cruel words. Their first year into middle school was the worst for Deku, because it was the year that the blond had realized why he didn’t want any of the girls in the class talking to him.
The discovery came swiftly, he was raised with exceptional logical skills and there was no doubt in his mind that his parents would react negatively, so he figured it out the first time that his mother forced him to invite the Midoriyas over to swim. He was thirteen and had seen his childhood best friend in those god-awful teal swim trunks for the first time since they both started to fill out their clothes. Deku was still scrawny, but he was slightly taller than he was in grade school and soft green hairs now adorned his legs and armpits.
He’s only realized he’d been gawking at the pale, freckled skin covered in beads of water as he splashed around with his mother when Masaru nudged his arm slightly and whispered to him with a secret smile.
“Don’t let your mother catch you staring at Izuku like that, she’ll set you two up faster than you can blink.”
The Hag was far too involved in his personal life.
The fact that Deku had been the one to awaken that discovery inside of him also pissed him off (many things did) and that was something that he’d later realize field the fire in his throat when he spewed hateful words at the other with his entourage.
The small group passed by one of the teachers who was staying late to grade papers and smiled as she waved at them. The two boys at his sides gawked at her as she passed and Bakugou rolled his eyes, willing away the clips of Deku’s soaked, dark green hair sticking to his forehead until he shook it away. He clenched his teeth.
“You told him to jump off the roof,” the paranoid extra whispered.
“So? He’s a pussy, he won’t do it,” the other supplied, pushing his friend’s shoulder.
Deep red eyes glanced up at the roof where they’d left Deku after tormenting him and he scoffed. He absent-mindedly rubbed at the throbbing sensation behind his ears that had been bothering him for a few weeks now, making a mental note to bother his parents about setting up a doctor’s appointment soon.
“What if he does?” the trembling voice asked again.
Bakugou slowed to a stop, clenching his fists in his pants pockets and staring up at the roof. He couldn’t see anything since they were ground level now, but he was sure that Deku was in fact too scared to do anything of the sort. He knew Deku too well, the other wouldn’t leave behind his mother (the damn mama’s boy) just because of some hazing at school. He held on way too tight to the idea that he’d become a hero one day, he wouldn’t give that dream up.
Then again, the nerd’s eyes held a different emotion to them today. Bakugou often found himself staring into Deku’s eyes whenever they passed each other, it was a way to get the other to cower without even having to say or do anything else. Today when the idiot told him about his All Might signature, something was off. The gaze that usually lit up and held a sparkle at the mere mention of his idol was oddly void-like, blank, and dull. It was cause for concern.
For the sake of Bakugou’s future of course. What other reason could there be to make Bakugou turn on his heels and sigh in annoyance?
“Get outta here, I’m gonna go make sure he doesn’t actually do it.”
“Yeah dude, protect your future. If it gets out that you made a kid-”
“I get it dipshit!” the blond snapped, voice echoing off the columns near them.
The two boys flinched and hurried off as he entered the school once again and ascended the staircase. He reached the door leading to the rooftop in no time and called out the other’s nickname he’d given him before opening the heavy door. The sun blinded him as he stepped out, making him cup a hand over his eyes like a visor and glance around the roof until he caught sight of Deku’s backpack sitting on a piece of paper that’s corner was flapping in the wind. His eyes drifted to the next closest thing and he found his childhood friend grasping the railing with one hand, biting at his thumb.
Wide green eyes met his and the other froze like a deer caught in headlights. Bakugou caught the smallest movements with his analytical eyes, watching the way the muscles and tendons in the boy’s hand relaxed. Why couldn’t he move? His feet felt heavy, heart dropping into his stomach while bile rose in his throat. Once he finally felt the blood return to his body, he lunged forward, one arm outstretched and eyes wide and stinging.
Deku left his line of sight and he nearly tripped over his own feet, catching himself on the railing to avoid smashing his nose against it. The wind quieted down just long enough to let the distant thump find his ears and traumatize him. He froze, knuckles white as his vision blurred in front of him. His face was hot, the air cooling the wetness sliding down his cheeks while he slumped to the floor and trembled. Muffled voices of teachers at the bottom of the building yelled for help.
me for my college exam essay: bully with internalized homophobia who bullies his crush is a harmful trope and romanticizes toxic relationships also me: I'm gonna write this trope once again because it is one of my favorite tropes of all time and bakudeku fits into it perfectly you cannot stop me
In all seriousness, do not date your bullies unless they go through serious redemption and prove themselves to be worth your time (like I'm hoping to do with Bakugou in this). Also, do not harm yourself or attempt suicide, I'm not condoning it with this fic because it's made evident throughout the chapters that Izuku's life was worth living for and he greatly regrets the decision he made. Both characters are flawed in this but both are portrayed in a very healthy way beyond middle school.

When Katsuki finds out his lover's dad passed, he tries his best to cheer them up.

(f/f) means favorite flavor
You knew how to play piano. However, there was only one music you could play with a lot of skills, both hands at the same time, and fully. When you were trying to play something else, you were struggling with your both hands and sometimes couldn't manage to finish the song. And why ? Because your dad made you practice this song with him since you were 6.
You both watched Pan's Labyrinth together, and even if he was afraid at first that it would scare you, you actually ended up loving it. Pan's Lullaby was your favorite music, and your dad, knowing how to play the piano, taught you how to play it. You actually didn't show off about how 10 years of playing the same song made you totally master it.
Actually, nobody knew you could play the piano. There was one in the common room at Yuei, but only Momo and Jiro were playing it.
You were thinking about it because your dad had just passed. You got a call from the hospital ; he was called to help some heroes in Tokyo for a rescue mission, but another group of villains attacked, and he didn't make it. You were sure that Yuei would've let you go back home even if all the students were watched due to villains' attacks, but you didn't want to go back home yet. It was where he lived.
You were in your room when you got the call, so you just stayed there, not telling everyone. Your classmates were used of you staying in your room, so they didn't really notice that you weren't with them.
Katsuki was back from a training with Kirishima. Seeing you not around, he asked a girl if you were in your dorm, and she said yes. So, he made his way to your dorm, knocking on the door. He knocked 4 times louder and louder in case you were busy, but since you weren't listening, he just opened the door himself.
You were crying on your bed, some video on your computer you weren't even watching. He closed the door, raising an eyebrow. ''Why are you whining again, crybaby ?'' Well, yeah. Despise being Katsuki's lover, you also had your shitty nickname he gave you at the beginning of the year, because you were whining all the time. However, you had a good reason this time.
''My dad died on a rescue mission in Tokyo.'' You managed to say, trying to wipe your tears away. Katsuki felt awful. His jaw dropped while he was trying to find something to say. He just sat next to you and hugged you tightly. ''I'm sorry...'' You didn't really care though. ''You're like that, you didn't know, it's okay.'' And you weren't even mad. He felt really awful. ''You don't want to go home ? -No, it's better here for the moment.'' He just nodded and rubbed your back, resting his chin on your head.
He comforted you for at least 2 hours. Then, it was time for dinner, and you still didn't want to go out of your room. ''I'll bring you your plate. Do you want me to eat with you or do you want to eat alone ? -With you.'' He smiled a bit after he heard the answer, nodding, then made his way to the dining room. ''(Y/N) doesn't feel good, I'm bringing them their plate. -They're sick ?'' Mina asked. But Katsuki just took your plate without answering her and walked back to your room.
The next day, you didn't go to class. Aizawa heard about your dad's death, and he let you 3 days off. You could ask for more if you needed it, though. And since nobody was there, you decided to go out of your room and spend your day in the common room. After some time, you looked at the piano -it had been months since you hadn't played anything.
You sat, tried it on a bit, and then began to play Pan's Lullaby. The more you were playing it, the more your tears were falling, even though you weren't making any noise. What you didn't expect was Katsuki to arrive and sit on the floor, next to the piano, to watch you. When you turned your eyes to look at him, he smiled at you, but didn't say anything.
You wiped your tears away when you were done. Katsuki stood up to kiss your forehead. ''I didn't know you could play an instrument.'' You smiled at him. ''My dad and I used to play this same song for 10 years, because I really liked the movie.'' Katsuki laughed. ''You played piano for fucking 10 years and you never told me ?'' That managed to make you laugh as well.
When you noticed that school was over today, you walked back to your room. However, on your way, you heard Kaminari. ''Dude, why did you skip class ? You never do that ! -Shut up !'' Then, it was Sero. ''He wanted to take care of his lovely (Y/N) ! -Shut up ! It's none of your business !'' That's why he was back early, then.
What surprised the others too, was that Katsuki was preparing something in the kitchen. After being surrounded by questions, he exploded (lol). ''(Y/N)'s dad died, okay ?! That's why they're sad, they're staying in their room, and why I'm taking care of them !'' The room went silent. ''Can we... help with something ?'' Izuku finally said. Katsuki only sighed. ''No. Only leave them alone. (Y/N) will go out of their room when they'll want to see you.'' The blonde answered, baking something.
''And what are you doing ? -I'm baking them a cake, because they can't cook for shit. And it's (f/f), their favorite. If that doesn't fucking cheer them up !'' He didn't want any help, but Kirishima convinced him that he could help, by handing him what he needed.
He walked back to your room after dinner, since you told him you didn't want to eat yet. ''Not on my watch.'' He said, taking the cake out the fridge. Actually, he told his classmates they could write their names on the top of the cake, since it was blank. So they won't bother you, but still support you. Everybody wanted to tease Katsuki about his caring and loving attitude, but since he already told them they could write on it while yelling like a maniac, they shut up.
The blonde burst your door open, making you jump. ''You said you didn't want to eat but you are sure going to, because it's a (f/f) cake. I baked it, but the others are supporting you too.'' He said, putting the cake on your desk. You walked to look at it, and saw everybody's names. Katsuki cut you a piece of it. ''I've cut on Mineta's name. That asshole.'' You giggled and he gave it to you. And when you tasted it, oh how good it was. Katsuki really had hidden talents.
After you both ate, talking about random things and giggling -making you forget about your grief- Katsuki seemed serious again. ''You... should go out of your room. You'll be better laughing with everyone and get distracted. If you stay in your fucking room not doing shit, you're going to think about it all the time.'' You hugged him when he said that, making him jump a bit. Still, he returned the hug, kissing your head in the process. You just loved how much he was caring about you.
''When are the funerals ? -After tomorrow, and I have to go back to school the day after. Aizawa won't mind if I skip more, though.'' Your boyfriend rubbed your back. ''Do you want me to go with you ? -No, it's okay. You know he liked you, but it's only family and close friends at the funerals in my family.'' He nodded.
The next day, he didn't skip class. However, when everyone was back to the dorms, you were still there -and you had cleaned everything. ''Why so much cleaning ? -Distraction.'' You said, making Shoto smile at your answer. ''You wanna play Mario Kart with us ?!'' Mina yelled, making you chuckle. ''Sure.'' Iida jumped a bit.
''Guys ! They have to know what we did in class and write down what they missed and-'' he was cut off by Katsuki exploding his glasses. ''And don't get mad, you have a hundred of those in your dorm.'' He then walked to sit on the couch, making you sit on his lap before you start to play. He sure had managed to cheer you up the best he could.

A Heartwarming Sleepover
When Izuku awoke, trembling all over, his limbs almost frozen, his breath small clouds in the air, it was pitch black. His teeth clattered, his lungs aching from the cold air. Why was it so cold? | "The problem child has disappeared," Aizawa proclaimed in a grave voice. Silence prevailed for a few seconds before they jumped up and put on their work clothes to help with the search. Yes, he had expected that reaction, he thought grimly. | dad might.
A Heartwarming Sleepover
When Izuku awoke, trembling all over, his limbs almost frozen, his breath small clouds in the air, it was pitch black. His teeth clattered, his lungs aching from the cold air. Why was it so cold? With numb hands, he fumbled awkwardly for his cell phone to see what time it was.
1:21 am.
Fantastic. He groaned softly and tried to mumble more into his blanket, hoping to warm himself, but after a few minutes he realized that it was a lost affair. So he went in search of why his room was more like an ice chamber than a bedroom. Yes, he liked it a bit cooler to sleep, but that was clearly too much.
Trembling, he switched on the flashlight on his cell phone and padded to his heater, which turned out to be as icy as his room after a touch. He sighed. It was actually turned on, so it had to be broken if it did not heat. He tightened the blankets around his figure. What should he do? As far as he knew, the common areas were not really heated either and it was forbidden for two students to spend the night in the same room unless they had permission and he certainly would not wake Aizawa-sensei, although he could not do anything.
Izuku considered. If he could not wake Aizawa and he would never disturb the other teachers, maybe he could ...? He bit his lip. It was not the nicest thought, but the plan that had the most chance of success, and he preferred it more than anything else.
He quickly typed on his cell phone until it started to call. It rang for several seconds, and the green-haired youth began to get nervous until the person on the other end picked it up.
"My boy, what's wrong ...?" Mumbled his mentor, probably still drowsy, which he absolutely could not blame. It was an ungodly time to be awakened and he knew how little sleep All Might got in general, which is why his guilty conscience grew stronger, but he had no real choice.
"The heating in my room is broken and it's cold and I'm so cold, All Might-"
"Come over, my boy. I'll talk to  Aizawa and Nezu tomorrow morning. Bring your blanket, unfortunately I have no second for you, "he was so relieved that his teacher immediately understood what he was hinting at and offered it without hesitation. He shuddered violently before putting on shoes, tucking his key, and putting his cell phone in the pocket of his sleep pants, pulling his blanket around him. He hurried out of the dorm and headed for the building where All Might and the rest of the teachers slept. He saw that there was light in a room and as he got closer, the front door opened and there stood the former pro, dressed in his standard white, too big T-shirt and long plaid pajama trousers, his feet were bare. He looked more alert than Izuku would have expected.
"Come in, before you turn into an icicle, instead of the usual fountain," the blond joked lightly, lapping his successor's hair. Automatically Izuku leaned against the elder and enjoyed the warmth and the familiar - always gentle - gesture.
Then an arm wrapped itself around his shoulders and gently pushed him inside the building, Izuku felt relieved. At last there was warmth around him, but he was still shivering. Probably because he was too cold. He was directed down the hall to his mentor's room and he could not help but be excited. He had never been there and was curious about what he would find. What kind of interior design style did he have? His classmates’ rooms reflected their personalities, so he was sure it would be the same with All Might.
His thoughts came to a halt when he saw the practically empty room. White walls, a gray carpet, a tall but narrow wardrobe, a desk swamping with papers, the matching chair and a simple double bed with green sheets and a nightstand next to it with a lamp and a picture frame. That ... that was not what he expected. Not at all. It was so bleak, so ... empty and almost hopeless. Izuku's heart contracted a bit, but pushed it on his cold limbs.
"Why is there a double bed here?" He asked the older man, who smiled sheepishly at him. "A normal bed is too small for me, so I'm mostly lying diagonally," he explained, and Izuku frowned. "But you could just have a bed made for your size or not ...?" But the other waved off. "It works that way too. Now come on, you will not get warmer when you're standing around here, "and then they both started to move, All Might went first across, covered himself, and only then did Izuku lie down, keeping a respectful distance between them, that was still his mentor, his idol, his-
All Might sighed heavily. "Come on, my boy. You're still shivering", he then pulled the boy close so that his head rested on his chest and he held the student in his arms. Izuku stiffened and the older man almost thought he was embarrassed and would break out in a marble storm at any moment, but he had to stop that.
"Just relax and sleep," he murmured, closing his eyes and giving the boy no chance to speak. So the younger one also closed his eyes and, surrounded by warmth and security, it was no wonder he fell asleep soon.
Aizawa definitely did not like to get up early on a Saturday morning when he did not have to, but even less did he like not knowing if all his students were there or if the first ones were already off. So it came that he shuffled into the dorm of the 1-A with a double espresso in his hand and let his eyes wander over the children. The usual madness had broken out and he did not have the energy to whip them about that, especially since that was the norm and as long as no one was hurt or did anything illegal, he did not care (a big, fat lie, but good that none of them could read minds).
With a sigh he wanted to turn around and shuffle out again when Iida spoke to him. "Aizawa-sensei! Do you know where Midoriya-kun is? "Accompanied by his usual serious expression and robotic hand movements, the blue-haired man looked at him expectantly. The teacher froze. What. "What do you mean?" He asked, maybe Midoriya had just gone ahead to complete his morning workout alone, anything was possible. "Well, he did not show up for breakfast and he was not on the training ground, so I took the liberty of knocking on his door, but no one responded and Midoriya-kun at least makes a sound, even if he does not necessarily get up. "
Aizawa's heart began to race. That ... sounded suspicious. Not good. Without saying another word, he hurried to the problem child's room, took out the universal key, and unlocked the door. An empty room and icy coldness came to meet him. The dark-haired man shuddered. Why was it so cold here? Where was the Midoriya?
Someone stepped behind him and he instantly recognized the bicoloured hair. "Todoroki, do you know why it's so cold here?" He grumbled, looking sharply at the boy, who only shook his head. "It's not me, sensei." He had feared that. All that left only one conclusion: Midoriya was gone and no one knew since when.
He hurried into the teachers' dormitory to drum them together and tell them that a student was missing, and of all the kid, which magically attracted trouble. He grated his teeth. If a villain touched him, he would pay.
He tore open the door loudly, banging it against the wall, and instantly all the teachers present were on alert. "Shouta, what-?"
"The problem child has disappeared," he announced in a grave voice.
Silence prevailed for a few seconds before they jumped up and put on their work clothes to help with the search. Yes, he had expected that reaction, he thought grimly.
Toshinori was torn from his so restful sleep when he heard a door pop. Well, it was just dull here, but he was trained to be awake instantly with noises. When there were no screams or other fighting sounds, he relaxed his body. But he was awake now and he was thirsty. Too bad he forgot to put a bottle of water on his bedside. He would probably have to get up and go to the communal kitchen.
With a deep sigh, he gently removed the boy from him and stuffed the blankets around the child so that he could continue to sleep. His expression softened. Then he got up and with slippery steps he went outside, directly into the common room, where almost all the teachers were wide awake and in working clothes. He blinked in surprise.
"What happened?" He asked in the round and the others petrified. Aizawa glared at him. "Midoriya is gone, we'll start looking for him now." Toshinori frowned. The young Midoriya was gone? But he was- His eyes widened before he let out a soft laugh. Sharply Aizawa looked at him. "I do not know where the reason is to laugh, Yagi," his colleague hissed harshly, and Toshinori shook his head. "Young Midoriya is safe and all right, Aizawa, I promise you that."
Grimly, he was viewed from narrowed eyes. "Where is the problem child?"
The ex-pro sighed, opening his door wide enough so that one could see in his bed the green mop the boy called hair. "What's he doing in your bed?" Aizawa looked as if he was about to jump the blond's throat. "His heating failed and he called me and asked if he could come here. I literally had to drag him to bed because he was nearly frozen, Aizawa. "
"Why did not he wake me?"
"I do not know, but we should get the heating working again in his room soon. As long as that does not happen, he stays with me. Anyway, I'm still skeptical if he will not get sick. "
"Since when does Midoriya have your cell phone number?" Kayama intervened and caught himself frowning. "For a while, because I had to give him some information," he said, and while it was not entirely wrong, it was not the whole truth, but he was always good at saying something without saying anything say - he had to learn that through the press.
"It's still worrying that he's sleeping in your bed, Yagi-san," Inui growled, though he did not mean it threatening. "It's more worrying that he could have frozen to death, or at least have a case of hypothermia," Toshinori said more reproachfully than he thought, and he realized it himself. "Or that he'd rather wake me than his real class teacher who's in charge of it. But I do not know why he acted that way, we can only ask him, "at these words he looked at Aizawa significantly and the dark-haired buried his lower face in his scarf.
The blond turned to face his room, stepped inside but left the door wide open for the other teachers, and sat down on the bed, the boy was just a motionless, breathing mass, covered in blankets. His mouth twitched amused.
"My boy ... you have to get up, you still have to work out and the day has limited hours," he said softly, stroking the boy's wild hair. He grumbled only unsatisfied and snuggled closer in the pillows. Toshinori sighed. "Come on, you promised to train with me."
"Just five minutes, Dad ..." his successor mumbled softly, definitely drowsy, and kept going as he had before. Toshinori on the other hand ... he froze. He did not  ... but still, he had heard it clearly ... He got up from the bed, went back out into the hall, but this time closed the door behind him and leaned against the wall. He closed his eyes and slowly slid down the wall until he was sitting on the floor, so he did not see the worried glances of his colleagues until Kayama put a hand on his shoulder. "Yagi ... why are you crying?"
He looked up in surprise and touched his cheeks. Indeed. They were wet. He could barely remember when he had cried the last time. It must have been shortly after Nana's death ... But he made no sound, instead he had to shake his head to answer. How should he explain what he had heard? That it felt like breaking his heart because he wished he was his father, but he just was not.
"Hey, Yagi, did the little listener say something?" Yamada asked, taking a few steps closer, and Toshinori made an indefined sound. Normally he would be embarrassed to hear such a sound, but he could not say anything, he would choke on his words, he was sure.
He had often heard that he would be the coolest uncle in the world, that he would be a great brother and a spectacular lover, but ... no one had wanted him as a father before. Only then did he realize how much he wished he had a child, cared for someone, raised and loved this child. But he never had a chance. There was always the fear. What if a villain found his family? What if a natural disaster took place and he could not help because he was not fast enough or because he was in another country? How was he supposed to take care of someone when he was never there? If he always had to keep his civilian identity a secret? He would never want to burden his partner alone, so he gave up this dream, that little bit of hope, for the common good.
The door next to him opened with a soft click and the little green-haired youth staggered out. At first he looked surprised when he saw all the teachers gathered, then his eyes fell on his mentor, who was still sitting on the floor crying. His eyes widened with horror, then he sank to his knees before the blonde.
"A-all-Might! D-do you are in pain again ?! Or a nightmare or- "
The boy did not come further when the person addressed pulled him into a hug and buried his face in the wild hair of his student. Izuku sounded uncertain. "All Might ...?"
"Oh my boy ..." Toshinori whispered emotionally, wrapping his arms around his successor. "I wish I was really your father." It was no more than a whisper, but it echoed down the hall like a shot. Kan froze in his motion to pour the coffee, while Cementoss was so unhappy to swallow his coffee.
A high squeaking could be heard and then his boy burst into tears, clinging closer to his predecessor than before. Izuku babbled something unintelligibly. "What did you say, my boy?" The blonde asked in a trembling voice. He rocked the boy slightly back and forth as if he were a baby and his heart tightened. Of course he had to take that comparison, of course. As if it did not hurt enough anyway.
"I wish it too!" Izuku shouted loudly before he cried out again and buried his face in his mentor's chest to hide the tears. The elder stroked his head with gentle movements.
A steady murmur came from the former No. 1. »I know, my boy. That would be amazing. "In the back of his mind, he realized he was switching from one language to another, as he only did when emotionally agitated.
Neither of them noticed that the teachers withdrew to give them at least a touch of privacy.
For several minutes you could hear only the sniffing of the One-For-All users. "I'll talk to your mother," the older one began. "Maybe I can convince her that I'm allowed to adopt you." Izuku then gave him a beaming smile, though he looked teary. "I'd love that, All Might!"
Toshinori chuckled softly. "I think you should start calling me Dad again, Izuku." The addressed blushed to the hair root and groaning buried his face in his hands. "I really said that, did I not?" The ex-pro laughed out loud. That was enough of an answer for the green-haired, because he made a soft whimper. "That's it. I'll throw myself off the roof to avoid this embarrassment. "
 A laugh again. "Oh son!"
When Izuku let it slipp in public for the first time, Todoroki's nearly mad grin could be seen.
"Hey Dad, can I get my papers quickly? I forgot them in the classroom. "
"Of course, my boy!", For the Midoriya there was a thumbs up and a big smile from All Might.
Todoroki looked as if Christmas had come earlier. The rest of the class accepted it with a shrug.
And every time Izuku called the former No. 1 hero Dad, both he and everyone got used to it more and more. It was not like it had changed much between their relationship - it just got confirmed and made official.

BNHA Rewatch: Episode 23 “Shoto Todoroki: Origin”
mysterylover123
This episode is not ok.
Tumblr media
First. Frame. I am not ready.
We open up proper with Deku and Shoto sizing each other up in the ring. Shoto opens, same as always, with ice. Deku counters, same as always, with fingersnap. Not the Roy Mustang kind. Visually, I’ve noticed that aside from the blasts, this episode is made up almost entirely of uncomfortable close-ups.
Tumblr media
“He’s prepared to counter me, even if it means destroying himself.” YES. (oh god the horror has only just begun)
Tumblr media
Deku just keeps going...and going...
Tumblr media
This part is so suspenseful. At any moment, for Deku, it’ll all be over. We’ve locked in a clear limit for how the fight can play out (and then we just throw that limit in the trash, because this is BNHA where rules are stupid).
Tumblr media
Shoto in this scene is not looking at Midoriya. He’s thinking about his father. He thanks Midoriya for dragging things out to piss off Endeavor. He sounds condescending here - like he didn’t expect Deku to last even this long. This is a very badly influenced Shoto, one ‘drowning in resentment’, as he puts it later on.
Tumblr media
This bit signals a sea change in the fight. Deku is aware that he’s outmatched, but then he notices Todoroki shaking. This isn’t just an opening to him, either, a chance to beat Todoroki. It’s a sign that he has, in fact, forced Shoto to start exhausting himself, but Shoto is stubbornly refusing to go all out still. And this means, to Deku, that Shoto doesn’t think he’s worth it. And that pisses him off.
Tumblr media
yikes.
This decision from Deku drops the jaw the first time around. He just...breaks his hand. He breaks it a second time. (and that’s just the beginning)
Tumblr media
Deku is furious that Todoroki is disrespecting the efforts of all his friends and rivals (who we see in a montage). He is being disrespected himself too. Todoroki is holding back and Deku won’t let it happen. He won’t let Todoroki win without giving it his all. Only if Todoroki is willing to go as far as everyone else.
Shoto assuming Deku was bribed by Endeavor to get him to use his fire side is...really sad.
Tumblr media
For the record: I like Justin Briner just fine. He’s good. But...Daiki Yamashita is the superior Deku. I have different picks for faves in sub v Dub here, but between these two it’s no contest for me. Yamashita’s acting, especially in this ep, haunts me. This scene stands out a lot. Sinai...sinai...sinai...sinai...It’s like a madness mantra. Because Deku is crazy. Beyond crazy.
Tumblr media
Aizawa does a small meta on Midoriya here, reasoning that he’s ‘just doing the best he can with what he has’. I’d say that’s part of it, but as we’ve already seen, there’s more going on here. Pride. Friendship. Absolute Insanity. Just to name a few.
Tumblr media
“What’s driving him”? So so much. An internal drive to prove he can be useful for something. A desire to be just like all Might. Some pride and a need to win. A desire to help someone in pain no matter what. And a dash of madness.
Tumblr media
ashkjhkjahrih Yep. What did I say. ABSOLUTELY FUCKING INSANE. ABSOLUTE MADMAN IS HIS NICKNAME FOR A REASON. NO SANE PERSON SHOULD WANT TO FUCK WITH HIM. HOW THE FUCK TO YOU BEAT SOMEONE WHO WILL DESTROY THEIR OWN BODY TO WIN A FREAKING EXHIBITION MATCH?!?
Tumblr media
“I want to be a smiling, cool hero”. This is, in so many reasons, why I think Midoriya is such a great character. What makes a great character, to me, is Motivation. 3 pieces of motive: What they want, why they want it, and how far they’ll go to get it. Want: To be the World’s Greatest Hero. Why: To save people and prove he’s worth something. How far: ALL THE WAY.
Tumblr media
“If you become number one without using your full power, then I don’t think you’re serious about denying him everything.” OMG
Tumblr media
no this fucking flashback “He’s only 5  years old” out of my way “ka-san?” those words have dug their way into my subconscious. the horror. shoto being denied the chance to be around his siblings. Shoto not getting a life. Endeavor’s abuse. Rei’s breaking voice. I can’t. I can’t I can’t
Tumblr media
oh no oh no oh no
Tumblr media
oh god this scene the music i can’t i can’t i can’t
Tumblr media
I hate that I agree with Endeavor’s decision to put Rei in an institution. I hate seeing bb Shoto cry. the music. this scene its too good. the feelings are...every time...I just...
Tumblr media
Daiki you need an acting oscar you nailed this.
Tumblr media
I’m shaking. Do you hear that music amping up in the background? That slowly building crescendo...it sounds familiar...
Tumblr media
All Might you beautiful bastard you’ve done so much good Deku what have you done i’m smiling and what’s that sound? That beautiful song that goes with everything?
Tumblr media
YOU SAY RUN! FULL VERSION. DRINK IT IN. ENJOY IT. BECAUSE IT TAKES A HIATUS FOR A WHILE AFTER THIS EP. MY GOD THIS MOMENT
Tumblr media
Endeavor: Anime’s most evil Soccer Mom.
Tumblr media
“Why are you smiling?” Because he’s crazy, Shoto. You haven’t noticed this? “You must be crazy.” OK, he has noticed.
Tumblr media
You’re a little unsettled yourself, I see. (I am convinced that all three of them have some kind of mental disorder. Midoriya, Bakugou, and Todoroki. They’re all crazy. In 3 very different ways.)
Tumblr media
The Absolute Madman vs the BiFire-IceMan. this image haunts me.
Tumblr media
This episode’s animation is quite possibly the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen in anime. Or animation, for that matter. There’s something about the way BNHA is animated, the designs, the sakuga, that is...I don’t know how to describe it. “Midoriya, eregato.” You said it, Shoto.
Tumblr media
Midoriya is knocked out of the tournament in the quarter-finals. This, my friends, is how you subvert expectations in a satisfying manner. Jaws have hit the floor.
So there are, essentially, 3 episodes in BNHA that I consider not just the best episodes of this series, but to be episodes that kind of transcend. Episodes that are so good, so powerful, so mind-blowing to behold for the first time, that everything else feels a little bit less by comparison. This is the first of those three. Episode 23. It’s one of the best episodes of the show. I’m tempted to call it the best. It’s so hard to watch. And so worth it to see. If you watch BNHA for no other purpose, at least try and get to this one.
BKDK CORNER:
Tumblr media
(top half is Baku)
Baku: “Quirks are physical abilities. You can’t just fire off as many shots as you want.” Izuku: “It’s easy to forget that quirks are physical abilities.”
Tumblr media
Izuku: “Where are you looking?” Baku, 2 eps from now: “Where are you looking, half and half bastard?”
Tumblr media
Izuku:  His movements are...Baku: Slower. It’s called Finishing Each Other’s Sentences.
Tumblr media
Midoriya is not only channelling Bakugou here in his desire to win against an opponent going all out, but also thinking of people like Kacchan, who go all out against opponents no matter who they are (re: Uraraka). And Deku has come to respect this. That, in part, motivates him here.
BEST GIRL OF THE EP: ICE MOM/REI TODOROKI!
Tumblr media
RANKER: TOP DARKEST BNHA MOMENTS
5. The Camino Ward story
4. Midoriya’s self-muliation and quirkless past
3. That Last Effing Arc of the Manga. The MLA Arc.
2. Todoroki’s Backstory
1. Chisaki’s Torture of Eri and the Internship Arc

The Gamer Hero, Deku Chapter 20
We were gathered back in the arena field. Midnight explained to us how the next part of the sports festival would go. For the teams who won the cavalry battle, there was the combat tournament. The rules were simple. In each fight, we had to either incapacitate our opponents or remove them from the arena. And before the tournament, there would be other games that everyone could participate in. Even the tournament combatants could attend them, but Midnight-sensei suggested we not do that, because we should conserve our stamina. That really wasn't an issue for me, but I decided not to participate in those battles because it could be unfair to the others. Before we drew lots to see our placement, Ojiro raised his hand. "I'd like to withdraw from the tournament!" he declared.
"Oh?" Midnight said. "What brought this on? You do realize you're probably going to miss out on a chance to be scouted, right?"
He grimaced. "I don't even remember the cavalry battle. I don't want to move on to the tournament if I didn't even really do anything."
"Whoa, that's so manly!" Kirishima yelled.
The other member of Team Shinsou, Nirengeki from class 1-B, raised his hand. "I'd also like to withdraw, for the same reason..."
Midnight grinned. "I like your spirit! Alright, you two are out of the tournament! Now we need to get some students to replace them!"
After that, it was agreed that Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu and Shiozaki Ibara from 1-B would take their places. We all drew the lots, deciding who we'd fight and in what order. It was just my luck that I was in the first match against Shinsou. And then I'd probably have to face off against Todoroki after winning that...
"Midoriya, right?" someone asked me from behind. I turned to see Shinsou.
I opened my mouth to say something, but Ojiro's tail wrapped around my face before I could. "Don't say anything," he cautioned me. Shinsou snorted.
I removed Ojiro's tail from my face. "Because of his Quirk, right?" I asked. Shinsou stiffened. "If I had to guess, it's a mental Quirk. Some sort of mind control, tied to... people responding to something you say?"
He sighed. "Yeah, that's about right..."
"It sounds amazing for hero work. Too bad the entrance exam was robots, huh?"
Shinsou stared at me incredulously. "You... don't think my Quirk is villainous?"
I shrugged. "Quirks aren't really villainous. Well, if you have a sentient Quirk like Tokoyami's Dark Shadow that actively wants to be a villain then you could make that argument, but Quirks are normally controlled by the user. They're tools." I pointed at him. "If you use your Quirk for hero work then you have a hero's Quirk, and if you use your Quirk for villainy, then you have a villain's Quirk. Still, your Quirk would let you deescalate hostage situations and other villain attacks without having to fight, and even if you have to fight then there's always the possibility of a villain slipping up in the middle of battle. To be honest, I'd place a mind-controlling Quirk like yours pretty high on the list of Quirks I'd like if I didn't have mine."
Shinsou's face softened. "You know, Midoriya, you're the first person I've met who didn't call my Quirk villainous."
"You should probably sue your Quirk counselor for malpractice, then."
He chuckled, then turned around. "You're a good man, Midoriya. I won't bother you again."
"Wait." He stopped. "I think it's only fair if you know a few things about me. First, there's a pretty good chance, depending on how our Quirks work, that your Quirk won't affect me right or might even just fail to work on me."
He raised an eyebrow. "How so?"
"My Quirk, The Gamer, works somewhat along the lines of RPG logic, meaning that among other things I have passive skills that grant me various affects," I explained. "One of them is Gamer's Mind, which came with my Quirk. It says that I have immunity to psychological status effects."
"I... see."
"I mean, I'll try not to get hit by your Quirk anyway because that's very unspecific, but I just thought you should know. I also have two other passives I think you should know about, Physical Endurance and Damage Reduction."
"So let me guess, physical attacks are useless on you."
"Not useless, but they do so little that to you it might as well be. Magical attacks aren't included in Physical Endurance, so comparatively speaking that's my weakness."
He sighed. "I guess I know what I'll be doing during the break."
I Observed him. "You have affinity for the sonic element, by the way. I'm guessing it's either because of your voice-based Quirk, or if any of your relatives have a more traditional sound Quirk, or maybe both?"
"So I have sound magic?" he asked. I nodded. "Good to know. Thanks, Midoriya."
"Was that really a good idea?" Ojiro asked after he walked away.
"Even with what I told him, he's probably not going to beat me, considering our stats and abilities," I said. "And if he displays more than just dependence on a powerful supporting Quirk, then he's more likely to get in the hero program."
"I guess..."
xoxoxo
"Seriously, are you two fucking dating yet?" Kacchan asked Tsu and Uraraka now that we were in the stands watching the pre-tournament game.
"What makes you think that?" Tsu asked, blushing slightly.
Kacchan raised an eyebrow. "Fucking seriously?"
Uraraka hid her blush behind Tsu's hair. It was easy to do, between Tsu having a lot of hair and the fact that Tsu was literally sitting on Uraraka's lap and snuggling up against her. "In my defense, I like body heat because I'm a frog," Tsu muttered.
Kacchan shrugged. "Sure, why not?" He then turned his attention back to me. He knocked on his seat in the passcode, so I invited him to my party.
acridThermogenesis: hey dont be mad
acridThermogenesis: but i may or may not have eavespropped on your conversation with half and half
acridThermogenesis: *eavesdropped
acridThermogenesis: what the actual fuck is my name deku
I sighed. I really should have noticed him. Actually, one of my elementals should have told me he was there.
conjuringGamer: Don't eavesprop on other people's private conversations, Kacchan!
conjuringGamer: This is your punishment!
acridThermogenesis: oh fuck you and your stupid references
conjuringGamer: How, exactly, do you get what this is a reference to anyway?
acridThermogenesis: fuck
acridThermogenesis: you
acridThermogenesis: and why the fuck did you never tell me that you were related to the ex number two hero
conjuringGamer: WDTAU
acridThermogenesis: the fuck
conjuringGamer: We Don't Talk About Undertow
acridThermogenesis:
acridThermogenesis: fair enough
acridThermogenesis: and in my defense
acridThermogenesis: half and half has been glaring at you for gucking ever
acridThermogenesis: 8fucking
acridThermogenesis: **fucking
acridThermogenesis: fuck why cant i type today
conjuringGamer: You do realize you used to be worse to me, right?
conjuringGamer: And I can certainly handle myself against Todoroki in a fight, if that's what you were worried about.
conjuringGamer: Or I could've just ran with Illusion Barrier.
acridThermogenesis: shit i dont know man
acridThermogenesis: stop busting my nub or whatever the fuck trolls say
acridThermogenesis: im sorry
acridThermogenesis: fuck it ill say it without the stupid accent so you know im serious
acridThermogenesis: I'm sorry, Deku.
conjuringGamer: Don't worry, I forgive you.
conjuringGamer: I was just messing with you.
acridThermogenesis: WELL DUCK YOU THEN
acridThermogenesis: fuck
acridThermogenesis *FUCK
I chuckled a bit. Annoying Kacchan was fun sometimes.
Uraraka Ochako: Um.
Hatsume Mei: Well this is awkward
Tokoyami Fumikage: I Think You 4cawt To 4emove Us 4om 4 Pa4ty, Mid4iya.
"Duck," Kacchan muttered.
"What?" Tsu asked. Uraraka snickered, then spat out a long strand of green hair.
xoxoxo
I walked down the corridor to the stadium. It was time for the first match. I took a deep breath, then felt a hand on my shoulder. I turned around to see All Might in his emaciated form. "Good luck, young Midoriya."
I nodded. "Thank you, All Might." I turned back to the opening and walked into the stadium.
"AND ON ONE SIDE," Mic-sensei shouted over the roar of the crowd, "WE HAVE THE KING OF MAGIC, MIDORIYA IZUKU!" I walked up to the stage and saw Shinsou emerge from the other side of the stadium. "AND ON THE OTHER, WE HAVE THE ONLY STUDENT FROM GEN ED TO MAKE IT TO THE THIRD ROUND! MASTER OF THE MIND, SHINSOOOOU HITOSHI!" I looked at Shinsou's level.
Give 'Em Hell, Kid
LV 19
Shinsou Hitoshi
"No hard feelings, right Midoriya?" he asked me. I shook my head, careful not to talk. To be honest I was looking forward to seeing what he'd thought of for me.
"WITHOUT FURTHER ADO, LET'S START!"
Shinsou smirked. The roar of the crowd died away, replaced by a ringing in my ears. He started to walk forward, and I heard the sound of his footsteps over the ringing. It was very loud, almost like the sound was reverberating all around me. Before I could react, I felt like all my sense of balance was lost, and I had an extreme feeling of nausea. I clutched my stomach, trying my best not to topple over. "Neat, huh?" he asked me, his voice amplified like the sound of his footsteps. I grimaced. My head was swimming. "I got the idea from my mother's Quirk. She can disturb people's inner ears with the sound of her voice, making them disoriented. I figured I could mimic that with sound magic. Judging from your reaction, I did pretty well."
I braced myself on an air platform and gathered my thoughts. It looked like he was taking his time moving because he had to concentrate on the spell, but it seemed like he was starting to get more comfortable, so that might change soon. Tactician told me that the effect the spell had on me manifested in the status effect Dizzy. I used Healing Hands on my head, causing the nausea and balance loss to fade. The ringing stayed, though. It felt more like it was the medium for Dizzy than a part of it. "Sonia," I thought.
"No use, Izuku," she replied. "Can't work with magic sound."
"Yeah, I figured it wouldn't be that easy." I kept up the Healing Hands with my left hand, though I knew that that meant I couldn't use it for any magic aside from the healing spell.
"It looks like you figured out a way around that. I wonder if you can keep it up while fighting me, though." He raised his hand and snapped his fingers at me. I Flash Stepped out of the way of the resulting shockwave thanks to the improved reaction time my high DEX gave me, but crashed into the ground when I was struck with Dizzy again in midair. I groaned. Flash Stepping shouldn't have caused Healing Hands to fail... "Looks like your healing spell can't keep up with it when you go that fast."
"That's probably it," I muttered as I started to get up. I noticed my mistake when the ringing in my ears stopped. For a second I felt very faint, like I was about to pass out. I almost fell back down. The feeling passed after a second, with a popup saying that the status effect Brainwashed had failed to affect me because of Gamer's Mind. "Ah."
Shinsou smirked. "So you are immune to my Quirk, but it still stuns you for a second." The ringing returned, and with it Dizzy. I noticed that my Healing Hands had slipped when Shinsou tried to use his Quirk on me. I put them back up, keeping both hands up this time.
"Limit Break!" I shouted, the glow of my Healing Hands getting brighter. "Healing Fists!" I jumped at Shinsou.
"Wait, what?" Shinsou said, then just barely managed to duck out of the way of my punch. The effort broke the spell, making my hearing return to normal. "Right, that's it." He took a deep breath and screamed at me with sonic magic. The shockwave hit me dead-on, blowing me back a bit even though I'd braced myself. I retaliated with a blast of wind strong enough to blow him to the edge of the arena. With a small gesture, I had Dune shift the ground under him, dumping him out of bounds. "Dammit."
"THE MATCH IS OVER!" Mic-sensei shouted. "Man, what was up with Midoriya? Did he eat a bad omelette or something?"
"If I had to guess, Shinsou did something," Aizawa-sensei said. "He either found a new use for his Quirk or made some sort of disorienting spell."
"If it was magic, wouldn't there have been some sorta glow?"
"Not all magic glows, Mic. You know this. You've literally used non-glowing magic."
I walked over to Shinsou. "Sorry about that," I said as I offered him my hand.
He took it and pulled himself up. "I'll consider it payback for the ear assault. Speaking of which, how're your ears? Would probably suck if I deafened you."
I gave him a thumbs-up. "I'm good, thanks to my Healing Hands. Though you might want to test it again with me or Shuzenji-sensei around, if you're really worried about that."
He nodded. "Probably a good idea."
xoxoxo
After making sure that Shinsou wasn't hurt from when I knocked him down, I went back to the section of the stands where class 1-A was supposed to sit. Ojiro was waiting for me by the door. "Midoriya!" he shouted. "Are you okay?"
I grinned. "Yeah, I'm fine."
"Deku!" Kacchan shouted from his seat. "The fuck was that?"
"Shinsou can use sonic magic now," I told him, then sat down next to him. "What you saw was him wreaking havoc on my inner ears."
"Damn." He chuckled. "So that was probably more difficult than your next fight's gonna be."
"What do you mean be that?"
Kacchan snorted. "We both know that between your ungodly physical defense and your elemental magic, the only person in the tournament who can match you in a straight fight is me, maybe also Uraraka but I'm gonna fucking destroy her. Half'n'half-"
"His name is Todoroki," I reminded him.
Kacchan rolled his eyes. "Todoroki might come close if he actually applies himself, but all he's really done is throw ice around. I'm guessing from what we already know about magic and Quirks that while Half'n'half's Quirk has ice magic acting to freeze shit, the ice itself isn't magical, meaning you can use an elemental on it easy. And even if not, can he really fucking put up with your bullshit as well as I can?"
"Yeah, I guess you're right..."
"And even though Tape Dispenser-"
"Sero."
"-might have a chance of winning against Half'n'half, can he even do a fucking thing to you?"
I thought about that for a moment. "It's probably arrogant of me to say that there's no way for him to beat me, but it isn't really likely, is it?"
"No fucking chance of that happening. Now shut up, the match is about to start."
Todoroki and Sero walked into the arena. As soon as the match started, Sero shot tape at Todoroki, wrapping him up. It looked like he was about to throw him, but...
Todoroki, without even moving, created the biggest wall of ice I'd ever seen with his Quirk, obstructing my view of the arena. It was so big that it cast a shadow over half the stadium, and Mifuyu told me the ice actually extended far above the top of the stadium. I scowled, my breath fogging up from how close the ice was to my face. "Kacchan," I ordered.
"Right." He summoned Pyra, and they started warming up the suddenly very cold area with light streams of fire. "You might wanna keep the water from drippin' on anyone, Tsu," Kacchan suggested.
Tsu just shivered and sluggishly buried her head in Uraraka's chest. "K-kero..." Uraraka wrapped her arms around her gently.
"Fuck. Right, you're a frog..." Kacchan sighed, then sent a few more flame strings around Tsu. "Deku, can you leave your water elemental here?"
I nodded, summoned Rayne, then slapped the metal railing meant to prevent us from falling onto the field. A microsecond's worth of Lightning Embodiment later, and I was on the other side of the railing and far enough to the left that I didn't crash face-first into ice. I stormed up to the arena, but looked toward Midnight before actually getting up on it. She was iced over...
"G-g-go r-right ahead, M-M-Midoriya," she shivered. I nodded and summoned Mifuyu and Blaise, who started helping Midnight, then stomped over to Todoroki.
"That was excessive, even for you!" I shouted, then shoved him away from Sero, who he was trying to melt out of the ice. With a gesture, I ejected him from the ice, grabbed him, then started warming him up. I checked up his sleeves and pant legs with probably a little more force than was actually necessary to make sure he didn't have any frostbite, then turned back to Todoroki when Blaise took over warming Sero up. "You do realize that your ice can kill, right?" He looked remorseful. Good.
"I was going to thaw him..."
I sighed. "I don't just mean Sero."
He tilted his head. "What?"
I stared at him incredulously for a moment before waving my hand in the general direction of the giant iceberg in the middle of the stadium.
"I'm aware that I used a bit too much force, but I made sure to stop the ice before it reached the audience."
"And if you didn't?" I demanded. "If you overdid it so much as a bit more, then people would have died. Hell, if anyone in the audience has a Quirk that makes them more susceptible to the cold, then they could be going into shock as we speak! I've got an elemental keeping an eye on Tsu, and Kacchan's keeping everyone warm, but that's still an issue!"
Todoroki blinked. "Oh."
"Why did you do that?"
"I was annoyed from talking to my father, and I took it out on Sero. I apologize."
I clenched my fist. "Limit Break: Sublimation," I intoned. My arm buzzed with One for All, and steam rose from it. Without even looking away from Todoroki, I swung my arm back, shattering the iceberg into powder with a combination of ice magic and sheer force. The powder was quickly vaporized by the vapor magic I'd also put into my punch. "I sympathize with you Todoroki, I really do. But if this is the way you're going to act then I'm going to beat you." With that said, I turned around and walked through the mist I'd created to get back to my seat. With DEX only a little out of human bounds, I vaulted up the wall to the stands, nimbly pivoting on the railing and landing back in the chair I was sitting in before.
"Damn, Deku," Kacchan whistled.
"How's Tsu?" I asked Uraraka.
Uraraka stroked Tsu's hair gently. "Tsu-chan fell asleep. Should I wake her?"
I shook my head. "It's probably best to let her sleep, at least for now." I turned back to Kacchan and Observed him. "Do you need me to restore your MP?" I asked him.
He shrugged. "Normally I wouldn't take you up on that, but I've seen Uraraka training and I'm pretty sure that if she was one hundred percent and I wasn't then I would fucking lose."
Uraraka beamed. "Wow, Kacchan! That was basically a compliment! And it wasn't backhanded or anything."
Kacchan rolled his eyes, though he had a small grin on his face. "Fuck you, Round Face."

Invincible [Chapter Twelve] Small Acts of Kindness [Katsuki Bakugou]
Tumblr media
I return to school on Monday like normal. It feels like the entire week never happened. The USJ incident is still fresh on everybody’s minds, but no one really speaks about it. In fact, the morning is going very typical for a school of novice heroes.
“The student council will be meeting after class today,” Momo informs me. This is very ordinary to me. “It will be the first one of the year, so it is important that everyone be present.”
“I’ll be there, Miss Vice President. No doubt about it,” I assure her.
She gives me a gentle smile, then sits correctly with her back to me. It’s not long before the bell chimes and Tenya goes before the class, frantically ordering us to take our seats. I merely laugh at our eccentric president. I am already seated, as is the entire class. Is he always like this?
To our surprise, Aizawa enters the room. He looks horrible, bandaged up like a mummy. I feel upset seeing him like this, especially since he had risked his life to save us. Tsuyu had told us the news of his condition this morning, but I never expected to see him back so soon. I do hope he recovers from his injuries quickly. Aizawa looks miserable as he wobbles across the room to his desk.
Tenya greets him, but Aizawa dismisses it. “My welfare isn’t important, because your fight is far from over.” What does he mean?
I assume he’s referring to the attack at the USJ. The police rounded up the villains, but I know that they will be back. I don’t know who the main boss is, but I heard he somehow escaped. I can only assume Aizawa plans to get us ready for another attack.
“U.A.’s sports festival is fast approaching,” the worn down teacher announces.
The class goes into hysterics. Some of them are put off with this, considering we just went through a villain attack, but I am nervous for a different reason. It’s time again for the sports festival? I nearly forgot. My family and I watch it every year, but I never thought I’d be able to compete in one. I recall the nurse telling me not to exhaust my quirk until I’ve learned to strengthen my mind. I don’t think I can before the time limit.
I silently listen to the class talk about the opportunities that will open up for students who participate in the sports festival. Momo explains to Mineta that talent agents will attend, searching for novice heroes to take under their supervision. If I want to be a pro, this will be my best choice. My body shakes, but not from fear. I am excited. Somehow I will find a way to show off my quirk, with or without exhausting myself.
---
The rest of the day flies by without a problem. I quickly push my books into my shoulder bag, ready for my first council meeting. It’s mentioned by Momo that Aizawa had agreed to let us meet in the teacher’s lounge since the staff will be leaving. I have 30 minutes to make it to the lounge, so I decide to walk with Katsuki to the entrance. I won’t get to walk home with him, so I’d like to say bye to him before he goes.
When I finish packing up my belongings, I join him near his desk. He waits for me, leaning against the tabletop with his hands shoved into his baggy pants. I don’t say much, only that I’m ready to go. He moves in front of me, heading to the door. Unfortunately, it’s blocked.
Students from the other courses stand outside the doorway staring in at us. I feel their eyes on me, and slink behind the blond. It’s annoying just how rude they are being. Some of us have places to be.
Mineta stands in front of us. “No way out. What’re they hear for?”
“Scoping out the competition, duh, small fry.” He is unfortunate to have Katsuki answer him. The blond pushes to the front of the group, dragging me with him. I silently apologize to Mineta for his behavior. I notice Izuku do the same. “Cuz we’re the kids who survived a villain attack. Makes sense they’d want a look before the sports festival,” he adds.
“Do they have to be so rude about it, though?” I sigh in annoyance. If some of the other council members weren’t blocked in too, I’d be mad. No way am I going to be late for the first meeting of the year.
Katsuki gives me a brief look. “Ignore them. They’re nothing more than cannon fodder.” He narrows his eyes and glares at them in the worse way. “Move aside,” he growls.
I hear the class disagree with his comment. Even the students blocking our way seem to be in awe. I doubt they’ve ever dealt with anyone like Katsuki before; king of pride. Sometimes even I have trouble with him.
As the students chatter amongst themselves, a teen with messy indigo hair pushes his way to the front of the group. He is much taller than them, and gives off an air of annoyance toward us.
“Gotta say, I’m a little disillusioned if this is what you’re offering,” he says while scratching at his neck. “Those of us who didn’t make the hero course are stuck in general studies and other tracks. There’re quite a few of us. Did you know that? Depending on the results of the sports festival they might consider transferring us to the hero course. I understand the reverse is also possible for you. Scoping out the competition? For a general studies kid like me, this’ll be the perfect chance to knock you off your pedestals. Consider this a declaration of war.”
I gasp in shock. I wasn’t aware someone from another track could do this. I got this far, and I will fight for my position here. My fingers tighten into fists. I open my mouth to shout at him, but Katsuki blocks my view to him, and tries to shove his way through the cluster of nosy people.
Eijirou seems to not like this. “Wait, you jerk. What’re you doing to us? Thanks to you we’ve got a whole mob of haters now.” He grabs my arm. “Ask him to stop, Usui.”
What can I do? Katsuki won’t listen to me. He’s determined to be number one. It’s not like I can judge him for this. Shouldn’t his unwavering attitude toward this be how the entire class should feel? I certainly don’t want to lose my chance.
Katsuki turns and gives his rebuttal before I can say anything. “I don’t give a crap. I’m heading for the top. Why should I care?”
His eyes turn to me as he continues. “What will you do?”
“I’m going with you, of course. No doubt about it,” I answer with a smile.
The blond offers me his hand. I take it and push through the crowd of haters with him. I’d be an idiot to disagree with him on this. As I walk with him I allow myself to fall behind in thought. He pulls me along, but his speed decreases as if to keep me from being dragged behind him. I never noticed it before, but Katsuki carries himself with pride. His head is held high and his shoulders are tense. It must be the students from the other courses. I wonder if he feels the stress from this declaration?
My heart goes out to him. I feel nervous, but I want this just as much. Sometimes I can relate to this position; being pulled along. I have no doubt Katsuki will allow me to stand with him at the top, but I don’t want to be a burden. I want to find my own strength, and even if I don’t make it, I will push him to the top. My shoulders feel like a weight is lifted from them. I have a new resolve; one to benefit the two of us. I lace my fingers with his own, and move in step with him. I’ll no longer stand behind him. From now on, I’ll be at his side.
I feel Katsuki squeeze my fingers. It’s a small amount of pressure, but it makes me smile.
---
At the end of the meeting, I check the time. The clock reads 4:30 in the afternoon; it’s been nearly 2 hours from the time we called it to order. I quickly write down the time, since it’s part of my job as secretary. This job is interesting. It makes me feel like I am part of something, and with a team like mine, I know we can make a difference for our class.
Tenya goes home, after saying his goodbyes. He reminds me that our next meeting will be after the sport’s festival. I happily make a reminder note in my school pad to buy a new notebook for the council. An idea comes up to make a calendar and webpage for class 1-A, so Mina and I decide to split the responsibility. She approaches me after class and asks me to join her for smoothies to celebrate our first meeting. Momo is going as well, so I agree to go with them.
Mina takes us to a shop near the station. We pay for our drinks, thanks to Momo, and shove ourselves into a small booth near the window. I sip at my strawberry and banana smoothie, listening to Mina as she talks about her ideas for the webpage. This is fun, but I feel nervous being around someone other than Katsuki or Izuku. They seem nice, however.
Momo pulls me from my thoughts. “Off topic, but what are your plans for the sport’s festival? I am curious to know what others feel about it. I personally am a little anxious after all those other students came to us earlier.”
“I’m not worried at all,” Mina says. “I’m going to defiantly rock it and have some fun.”
Momo and I laugh at her enthusiasm. The three of us are without a doubt opposites. Mina seems like the type who is excited about everything. Momo, on the other hand, is smart. She seems to go over all the possibilities, knowing that she may just as well lose. I am in between. The festival excites me, but it also scares me. I feel determined to try my hardest and win, as opposed to just having fun. When it’s my turn to speak, I put down my smoothie and give them both a smile.
“I want to give it my all, so my plans are to start training once I’m able to. I actually thought about asking Katsuki to help me out,” I admit.
“How romantic,” Mina says with a laugh. She seems to generally mean it. “I didn’t think Bakugou was the type to help others. Sometimes I forget the two of you are dating.”
Momo sits her drink down, shaking her finger at Mina. “Ashido, we should be respectful of their relationship. Usui may not even want to speak about it.”
“I really don’t mind. If you both have questions, I will answer them.” I feel a little better about my relationship to the blond. He seems to accept me as a girlfriend now, so understanding what we have may help me be a decent girlfriend to him. I assume both Momo and Mina have had serious boyfriends before. “I just ask that you don’t mock me about it. This is my first relationship, so it may seem odd. Katsuki and I are a little different from some couples.”
The two agree not to pick fun at me. I thank them, and wait for their questions. Mina is the first to speak. She recalls Eijirou saying that we’ve been together for a while; since middle school, I tell her. Her eyes seem to sparkle as the question pours from her mouth.
“How far have the two of you gotten?”
I feel my face heat up. “Not very far. We’ve held hands, but I’ve never kissed him or anything like that.”
“I am shocked to hear that,” Momo admits. “May I ask why?”
There’s really no point in hiding it from them. The reason is very obvious, but I am happy that neither of them have asked about it before. “Yesterday was the first time we admitted to being together. We’ve been around each other so long, it was implied, so Katsuki and I never denied it. I have no actual clue how real couples are supposed to act.”
“Small acts of kindness,” Mina blurts out. “Like nicknames and hanging out. Or being content with one another.”
I feel a little confused, but I know what she means. Small acts of kindness are something that Katsuki and I do sometimes. He seems to care for me, but I’m not sure. I trust him, and I know he’d never purposefully lie to me. He’d never hold my hand, or allow me to kiss his cheek if he didn’t care. Sometimes, I believe he is just embarrassed to admit it.
“Do you want the relationship to move further? Commit, I mean. Have you thought about kissing him?” Momo’s question makes me feel warm.
“I have,” I admit. “But would it be a good idea to try? I have no clue how he’d react to it.”
Momo smiles. “It can’t hurt to try. I don’t personally like the vile way Bakugou acts, but if you like him, then I trust your judgement.” She clears her throat. “I believe this is how friends are meant to act.”
Mina squeals in excitement, tossing her arms into the air. She picks up her smoothie and proposes a toast to our friendship. Momo and I agree, tapping our plastic cups against her own. The pink skinned girl suggests meeting up after every council meeting for a smoothie. We both agree.
I sip at my drink in a happy mood. It can’t hurt to try. I want to kiss him, even if I don’t know how he will react. I am scared of his rejection, but maybe I am in fear for no reason. The next time we are alone, I will give it a try. I am going to prove just how much I care for Katsuki.

BnHA Chapter 126: Introduction
Previously on BnHA: We caught up with the villains for a spell and shit was wild. Twice brought in a new guy by the name of Overhaul who apparently has yakuza roots. Tomura’s group was under the impression that he wanted to join them, but Overhaul informed them he had grander intentions -- now that All for One is gone, he intends to make himself the new ruler of the underworld. In other words, he’s a challenger to Tomura’s as-yet-not-very-established throne. Tomura’s group predictably didn’t take to this very well, so Overhaul fucking blew one of them up by way of persuasion. Tomura in turn disintegrated one of Overhaul’s own men because why not, it’s been a while since we had anything really gruesome and shocking in this manga so hey! So in the end it was kind of a draw, and Overhaul left after telling Tomura to give him a call. Back at U.A., Deku and Mirio dropped by to chat with All Might, presumably to set up an internship for Deku.
Today on BnHA: Aizawa announces that the first year students will be allowed to do internships. Deku asks All Might if he can introduce him to his former sidekick, Sir Nighteye. All Might says no, partly because he thinks it’s too dangerous, but mostly because for some reason he thinks it will be awkward. But after some imploring from Deku, he gives in and asks for assistance from Nighteye’s current intern, Mirio. Mirio agrees to introduce Deku to Nighteye. A few days later the two boys travel to his office. Mirio warns Deku that although Nighteye is famous for his stoic demeanor, he actually has a hidden side that prizes humor above all else, and Deku will have to make him laugh in order to win his favor. Deku meets Nighteye and promptly contorts his face into some bizarre All Might impersonation. But Nighteye seems less than impressed.
(As always, all comments not marked with an ETA are my unspoiled reactions from my first readthrough of this chapter. I’ve read up through chapter 155 now, so any ETAs will reflect that.)
so we’re opening with Aizawa talking about the possibility of the first year students doing internships
he says that the majority of the faculty, including the principal, were like “nah that’s crazy”
(ETA: oh so now y’all care about the safety of your students, huh)
so all the kids are like “what?!” because they were just starting to get really into the idea
also Kaminari is playing with Ojiro’s tail. just cuz it’s there and he can
Tumblr media
meanwhile Bakugou is like “HAHA SUCKERS” because he wouldn’t have been able to do the internships anyway lol
(ETA: Bakugou is in like three scenes in this entire arc, and one of them is a flashback. I’m just gonna enjoy this while I can. here’s his obnoxious shit-eating grin.
Tumblr media
I MISS YOU SO MUCH YOU LITTLE SHITHEAD)
but now there’s a “however” coming from Aizawa’s direction!
oh snap
Tumblr media
sorry Bakugou
Tumblr media
you’ll have your license in a few months and then you can go back to Best Jeanist’s agency (PLEASE??!) or wherever else you want to go and you’ll be all caught up in no time
I’m glad the teachers gave it such careful consideration, too. this seems to be an unusual amount of deliberation from a school which until now has mostly stuck with the philosophy of “just throw ‘em right into the deep end and see if they sink or swim”
so now over in the staff room, Deku’s asking All Might if he’ll introduce him to “Sir Nighteye” for an internship
Ectoplasm is in the background thinking about how he wants to go to karaoke. just making a note of that. this man is clearly pent up and he wants to sing some damn Journey songs goddammit
(ETA: this was mentioned in his bio back in the extras for chapter 61. “favorite thing: karaoke.” I’m so curious about this. why does he love it so much. who does he con into going with him. Hounddog and Vlad, probably)
oh shit look at this man not playing any favorites
Tumblr media
damn. harsh
he says he’s not doing it just to be mean, and of course not. All Might doesn’t have a mean bone in his body. so why, then
apparently there are three reasons!
reason one, he was one of the teachers that were against it. he thinks it’s too dangerous right now with the recent resurgence of villains
(Midnight’s in the background saying that internships have always been risky, though, and that the school should support the students who still want to go. fuckin’ love Midnight, man)
reason two, he says Deku should strengthen his shoot style first
now Ectoplasm and Cementoss are also chiming in with their two cents, in addition to Midnight (and Thirteen) from the previous panel omg. and All Might’s face loool
Tumblr media
IT TAKES A VILLAGE, ALL MIGHT
oh my god
Tumblr media
I love this man so much
haha. all of these reasons actually suck though. he’s just feeling overprotective at the end of the day isn’t he. and also that last one. awk
but we all know Deku has been extremely fired up recently, and this appears to be why:
Tumblr media
(ETA: “honestly, if Bakugou told you to go jump off a bridge would you do it?” “pshh! no. that’s ridiculous. ...how high a bridge?”
heh. is that too similar to the roof thing to be funny. should I just shut up. whatever I love them)
my god I love their relationship so much
and since they’re in a room filled with other U.A. staffers, all Deku says is “my quirk is very similar to All Might’s” (HINT HINT. WINK WINK), and he thinks that if he works under Nighteye he’ll be favorably compared to All Might
and he’s bowing imploringly and says he needs to become stronger
special attack: Guilt Trip Smash omg
All Might looks to possibly be having a change of heart. but he says he still can’t be the one to give Deku the introduction
he can’t, but...
so I assume this is where Mirio comes in
Tumblr media
Mirio is REALLY PSYCHED to have been summoned by All Might himself. such an honor oh goodness
did All Might not have classes with the senior students before? I’d think that would have taken some of the mystery away from it. but hey, maybe he’s just pumped to actually be able to do him a favor
meanwhile Deku is like “I don’t really understand this situation” and Mirio’s like “HAHA ME TOO”
obviously Mirio is Nighteye’s current intern Deku you boob
Tumblr media
see
so apparently he’s been his intern for the past year already
Deku’s really impressed by this
All Might’s asking Mirio if he thinks Deku is up to working under Nighteye
oh my god
Tumblr media
Mirio is such a good fucking bro
(ETA: the best bro on god’s green earth)
he’s asking why All Might doesn’t just ask him himself though. he says Nighteye would be thrilled to hear from him
...but All Might says he’s too ashamed to show his face? :(
“in the end... things turned out exactly as he forewarned they would”
I don’t like All Might feeling awkward or ashamed about having lost his powers damn it
should I be mad at Nighteye?? idk right now
(ETA: honestly I can’t really be mad at any of them. which is a bit exasperating for me as a reader having nowhere to direct my frustrations, but also that’s some damn good writing though)
anyway so he’s asking Mirio what he thinks of Deku
Mirio is asking Deku what kind of hero he wants to be. ah, this one’s easy!
oh snap what a great fucking answer
Tumblr media
ladies and gentleman, our fucking protagonist. the GOAT
and he was unconsciously clenching his fists in determination while saying it
Mirio’s like wow that’s crazy dude
Tumblr media
Mirio you’re definitely knocking on my top ten here. I’m not even sure who it is right now honestly. there have been a ton of great new characters recently. ugh it’s hard dammit
(ETA: if you really want to know, the top six are the same as before -- Bakugou, All Might, Izuku, Aizawa, Ochako, and Todoroki -- followed by Momo, Toga, and then yes, this bright-eyed fella. and then idk. Kaminari, Kirishima, Jirou, Best Jeanist, Iida, Mina, and Sero are all vying for that tenth spot. this series has a problem with its characters being too good.
but seriously it’s Best Jeanist)
anyway, he adds that he’d been thinking about it already since their training session earlier
All Might’s looking pensive :/
Tumblr media
what’s on your mind dude
he’s flashing back to his meeting with the Rat Principal that we saw a little bit of back in chapter 121. when RP was telling him he had someone in mind who would be a good successor
and naturally it was Mirio
Tumblr media
and now All Might’s watching him and Deku, and thinking about how Mirio would have been the successor if he’d never run into the latter
in hindsight we owe quite a lot to that sludge villain, huh. but those are the kind of little fateful coincidences I fucking love in stories like this. so many what-ifs. what if All Might hadn’t chosen that day to come to Deku’s hometown. what if Katsuki hadn’t delayed Deku’s walk home that day by blowing up his notebook. what if Deku hadn’t fucking grabbed onto All Might’s leg like a crazy person and caused him to drop his villain bottle. what if All Might hadn’t already been close to his limit at the time. what if the bottle hadn’t landed exactly where Kacchan was walking with his stupid middle school lackeys. all these little things that came together. I like it, because when you think about it all it feels like destiny
anyway. not only did I go on a nostalgic tangent there, but I also went back and reread the entire first chapter just now whoops. I’m so easily distracted
so now it’s the weekend!
and the other boys are hanging out lazily having breakfast, but meanwhile Deku’s like
Tumblr media
meanwhile these two are also up early, and Todoroki is trying to be friends, but Bakugou doesn’t want to be awake yet omg
Tumblr media
(ETA: and off they went, never to be seen again)
haha. I love them
I really really really really really love Kaminari’s bedhead
Tumblr media
I want to ruffle his hair and never stop. power him up. static quirk. worth it
now Mirio and Deku are arriving at Nighteye’s office
it’s really nice. Deku is intimidated
Mirio’s reminding Deku that Nighteye has very strict standards. but it appears that Deku is already aware
Tumblr media
but Mirio says there’s another side to him that he doesn’t show to the media
he says if Deku doesn’t want to get turned away, then he needs to make him laugh at least once. lol what
apparently Night respects humor above everything else. in spite of his stoicism, or maybe because of it
Mirio says all he can do is introduce Deku and then the rest is up to him
well it sure is a good thing Deku is such a naturally funny guy. always crackin’ wise, that Deku. we’re not fucked at all, no sir
now Deku’s asking Mirio why he’s doing this for him. it’s because he’s just a nice guy, Deku!!
Tumblr media
damn, he would have been a great successor. Deku is still the best of course. but wow
there’s a page of Nighteye having a weird conversation with some girl named Bubble Girl who’s only wearing about one third of a shirt
he’s chastising her for not having enough enthusiasm or vigor
damn it’s just like Mirio said huh
holy shit he’s hooked her up to some kind of weird bdsm-y tickling machine what the actual fuck
wowwwwwwwwww okay let’s skip right on past this. just. wow
(ETA: I feel like I know way more about Horikoshi’s fetishes than I ever wanted to. this is easily the single most uncomfortable panel in the entire series and I wish it never existed)
so now Deku is being stared down. and having a dramatic moment where he’s intensely thinking about how far he’s come and that he needs to show him some damn humor!!
Deku just show him your collection of t-shirts with weird shit written on them
or. you could try this I guess
Tumblr media
this is apparently his All Might face. this is his best shot
he says a sense of humor is the thing he lacks the most. goddamn, it’s true. EXCEPT FOR THE SHIRTS
lol this response
Tumblr media
and now Deku is sweating and Mirio’s thinking “it bombed!” but I actually don’t think it did omg. I think he fucking nailed it
(ETA: boy was I wrong on that one)
but this is the end of the chapter. wow
 bonus:
Tumblr media
“the quintessential Japanese to All Might’s quintessential American”
I don’t even know what to think. I’m still trying to retroactively erase the tickling machine from existence by sheer willpower alone. but it’s not working dammit
(ETA: it really was not a good introduction. he makes a much better impression in the next chapter coming up.
I also just noticed that he doesn’t have a real name listed here. is it supposed to be a secret?? why
also is this fucker really going to die. fuck Overhaul so goddamn much. this arc is going to give me trust issues from here on out. any character who’s introduced with too much of an OP quirk is on borrowed time. fml)

bhaf ch14 - the end is in sight
author’s note - this is very unedited and hasn’t been touched since may, before i started rewriting bhaf so there’s probably some inconsistencies. apologies to mobile users that can’t skip it, since it’s,,, really long at almost 4k words. sorry.
The stare of Aizawa was terrifying in every situation. It was a warning to villains that danger is close by, it was a warning to his students that he's not easily impressed or amused, and it was a warning to everyone else that he doesn't care about his appearance. But in this singular moment, Izuku gasped for breath.
He was relieved his teacher was awake, a head injury was always concerning but it wasn't as alarming if the person could be woken from unconsciousness. His gaze was both focused and glazed. Hazy in pain, but red with the use of his Quirk, Izuku choked. Why? Why wasn't he letting him heal him?
"D...Don't." He croaked, holding Izuku's gaze.
"I— Please, Aizawa-sensei. L-Let me heal you. Y-You're hurt. A-a-and I can help you. Please." Izuku heard himself beg, tears clouding the edge of his vision. He- He couldn't be useless again. He wasn't restricted by law to hold off using it...but now it was his teacher restricting him.
"Don't...use your...Quirk..." he pushed out through gritted teeth before his eyes slipped closed and he fell into unconsciousness.
Izuku let out a shaky breath before he realised his breathing had spiked. His hand still resting on his teacher's chest, feeling it rise and fall, the dull thrum of his heartbeat. He...he could do it right now. His teacher wasn't stopping him. No Quirk cancellation targeting him. Sure, sensei would be mad when he woke up but technically there wasn't anything stopping him right now.
He hesitated.
"Damn it." He cursed, pulling his hand away and slipping off one of his bracelets. It was a struggle to pull it over his hands, but he managed to secure the device over Aizawa's wrist. Note to self: ask for easier to remove and apply versions. He pushed the button and displayed his heart rate. Okay...nothing worrying.
Izuku slipped his right elbow pad off and pressed the absorbent material firmly to the open wound on his teacher's head. He wished he had another person with him to hold the pad there whilst he treated the rest of his injuries, but he'd have to make do with just one hand.
There was also a minor cut on his right cheek which didn’t look too bad. But...something was wrong. Izuku’s breath hitched in slight panic as he noticed the damage to the bone below. Shit. Izuku had no idea what to do for facial bone fractures. What should he do?!
After a second of panic, he took a deep breath to try and calm himself. It...didn’t look that bad, and Izuku knew better to be poking his untrained hands at it trying to help. He would leave that to the actual professionals whenever they were to arrive.
Looking at the elbow that had been seemingly disintegrated...it didn’t look pretty. The skin red and almost entirely peeled away. Blood eked out of it slowly, enough that Izuku considered pulling his left elbow pad off to slip it over in place—
"MIDORI LOOK OUT!"
He looked up just in time to see Shigaraki charging towards him, hand extended. Izuku reflexively put his left arm up to defend himself. He couldn't do anything without standing or with only one hand, and he didn’t dare raise his hand that was still pressing the fabric to Aizawa’s bleeding wound.
Izuku's hand lit up with pain. Unreal fiery pain ran all around the circumference his hand. His palm and back of his hand all burning as the skin disintegrated, he yelled, the tears that had been threatening to fall having finally started to flow. After a few seconds he managed to bring his foot up and kick the man's chest. Enough for a tongue to wrap around Shigaraki's chest and pull him away.
It was hard to get his bearings together. Sure, he knew he had a freakish pain tolerance, but every nerve ending in his hand was screeching out in pain. He tried to curl his fingers into a fist, but fresh sharp lances of pain shot through them. Every instinct told him to curl his fingers and pull his hand to his chest, but that would be unwise so he didn’t. He was still pressing his elbow pad to Aizawa's head with his other hand though, that was good.
Looking up, the battle was going getting worrisome. Asui had pulled her tongue away from Shigaraki before he dissolved it, but his attention was diverted now, and she was locked in a battle with him. It would have been ideal for the villain to go back to standing by the Warp Gate, but thanks to Asui’s rescue his attention had been drawn to her. Their battle mainly consisting of him charging forwards with his hands outstretched whilst Asui ducked and weaved herself out of the way of his hands using her natural flexibility. She tried to use her tongue to hit at his feet, but after the first few times Shigaraki held his weight low ready to grab it whenever it got too close.
Ashido and Todoroki were barely holding their own against the Noumu. Their battle hadn’t changed much since Asui was helping, but without the safety net of her pulling them out of danger if they weren’t quick enough...one false move and they would be pounded into the ground just like Aizawa was. Though if Izuku looked closer, he could see Todoroki shaking ever so slightly with Ashido’s movements becoming increasingly tense. They wouldn’t last long if nothing changed.
Despair wormed its way into Izuku's heart as he took in the last detail of the plaza. There...was still one villain. It was hard to see exactly what he was looking at, the yellow eyes lacking pupils of any kind, but it was clear he could step in at anytime to either battle and it would be over in a heartbeat. There was also the possibility he would come to attack Izuku, but it seemed...unlikely. His only job was to separate the class, then presumably act as their escape.
However, his presence was enough to worry him. If everything continued without any intervention, then it was clear his classmates were going to lose. And that was painful to even think about.
Suddenly, a loud boom echoed through the dome. Almost...almost like a door being kicked down. Izuku's breath caught in his throat as he looked up at the entrance, hope blooming before he could even think to stop it.
He wasn't the only one distracted either, the two battles that had been raging seemed to pause. Every party turned their gaze upwards, and time seemed to have slowed to a stop. There was a figure looming at the top of the stairs.
Izuku gasped in relief when he realised that the figure was All Might.
Even though the villains wanted to take down All Might, even though they probably had a plan to do it, even though he was most probably still in danger, Izuku couldn't help but think that everything was going to be okay.
"I've been waiting, hero." Shigaraki stood, relaxing out of his combat stance and moving away from Asui slightly. "You trash of society."
Izuku's heart leaped to his throat as he noticed a few of the villains Aizawa had dealt with earlier had gotten back up, but in just a few seconds All Might had sped passed them all, knocking them out with only one hit each faster than Izuku could blink.
The next thing he knew, he was being held in one hand and Aizawa in the other before being gently set down far from the action and close to the stairs. Another series of fast movements and Ashido, Todoroki and Asui were stood in front of him whilst All Might faced off with the villains.
"Everyone, head to the entrance. I'm leaving Aizawa to you." All Might commanded, his tone leaving no room for argument. And whilst usually Izuku wouldn't dare speak up against the number one hero, he was in the middle of something.
"I can treat some of sensei's wounds, he's still bleeding and the longer it is until he gets medical help the worse off he'll be. I can treat him here, before we head to the entrance." Izuku spoke up, he bit his lip as he stared up at the blond with a worried expression.
He wasn't going to lie but the second reason he was hesitant to leave was because All Might was out of time. Who knew what would happen if he was left alone without backup? Of course, Izuku couldn't do anything like that. But if he could rope the others into helping him treat Aizawa...
"Very well then. But the others should head to the exit as soon as possible."
"Be...Be careful, All Might. They said they want to kill you. T-That's why they're here. They called that thing Noumu, and that it's their weapon against you. A-and..." Izuku spoke with force, his voice only just enough to carry to the man. He deliberated on a careful way of asking about his time limit... "Have you got...uh the time?"
Wonderful tact, Izuku. You're brilliant a this whole major secret keeping thing, aren't you?
"Young Midoriya, everything will be fine." He grinned at Izuku, but Izuku couldn't collect himself to smile back. Before he could, All Might was darting off with a yell of "Carolina Smash!"
Izuku let his legs lower him to kneel on the floor, trying to ignore the shakes that ran through his body, adrenaline coursing fast. He awkwardly unclipped and slipped his backpack off, taking the roll of bandages and dressing out of the quick access pocket on the straps. Pushing the backpack to the side a little, before turning his head up to Asui.
“Um, Asui?” He asked hesitantly as the girl turned to look at him. “Could you help me with this? Um. I can’t really move my left hand, but if I’m going to bandage sensei’s head, I’ll need two.”
As Asui nodded and knelt down, Ashido’s black sclera eyes locked onto the raw and particularly gruesome sight that was Izuku’s left hand, her face paled. “O-Oh my god! A-are you alright, Midori? T-That looks painful! I-It should heal s-soon right?”
“It— Ah. I-It um, hurts, but I-I’ll be alright.” Izuku grinned shakily, somewhat unsure.
Normally, he’d treat it as a nasty graze, somewhat similar to a harsh case of road burn but he’d never had his flesh disintegrated before. The road burn would take something close to twenty four hours depending on the size and depth, but Shigaraki had disintegrated multiple layers of skin it looked like right through the dermis if he was right. It was painful, even now every nerve ending in his hand was screaming. Not to mention it was hard to see the exact wound due to the blood that near coated his hand, but Izuku was sure this was probably quite the serious injury.
With a little bit of difficulty he tugged his remaining elbow pad down over his injured hand with his uninjured one. It stung a whole lot more as the fabric pressed on the raw flesh, enough to get tears springing to his eyes again, but he’d deal with it better after he was done treating Aizawa. After all, he was a lot worse off.
“Kero, what do you need me to do?” Asui spoke up when Izuku was done with his temporary wrapping.
“W-well, I’m gonna have to put this dressing on his wound then wrap this bandage tight around his forehead, so I just need you to hold the end of the bandage in place whilst I wrap. I’ll have to do the same for his elbow, would that be okay?”
Asui nodded and followed instructions well when Izuku asked her to adjust her hold. It went reasonably well with little problems, and when it came to his elbow Asui gently lifted his arm by the wrist whilst they repeated the process.
The wrappings weren’t the best that Izuku had applied, but it would work for now. With All Might’s arrival it shouldn’t be too long until the rest of the teachers arrived. Hopefully someone thought to bring Recovery Girl along too, because the amount of blood that Aizawa had lost already was downright concerning.
Izuku wondered if it would be worth it to make splints for Aizawa’s arms, but considering he still only had one hand to identify where the breaks were and then apply the splint...maybe it would be best to leave it at that. He quickly scanned Aizawa’s body for any other injuries that he could treat but barring looking for broken ribs -- again the same problem arised -- there wasn’t much that he could do.
“M-man that Noumu is strong.” Ashido sighed her legs shaking enough that Izuku wanted to suggest for her to sit down. “I-I can’t believe we held out so long against it w-when even All Might is having a hard time with it.”
Izuku had been in the middle of wrapping his hand when his head snapped up at the statement. It was true, the powerful inhumanly strong punches that All Might could use seemed to have almost zero effect on the Noumu. It took the punches without even moving back at the force of it, no matter where he hit it. The head, the chest, the neck, either way it took the punches as if they were water on a duck’s back.
Maybe...it was the differences in attacks. Izuku couldn’t help but ponder. If he remembered right, the Noumu would screech in pain whenever Ashido launched a particularly large attack of acid, or when Todoroki had speared a sharp needle of ice at it. Not that he ever had been watching for long enough to dissect the differences. Did it have something like shock absorbance as a Quirk?
All Might yelled something to Shigaraki before grabbing the Noumu by its waist, lifting it fast into a suplex. The force of the move threw a huge cloud of dust and debris up, Izuku ducked his head under his arm to protect his eyes spluttering from the dust that made its way into his lungs.
Toshinori couldn’t help but feel a little regretful as he hid out in the teachers lounge.
He’d used up nearly the entirety of his time limit today, making it so that he had to completely skip out on his teaching responsibilities. Normally, Toshinori would never find himself regretting helping anyone nor most anything he did as All Might, after all if he helped one person then he’d always be happy.
But the things that he spent his time on this morning...well, they were all things that would have easily been handled by others. Just because he happened across them on his way to work, didn’t automatically make them his responsibility. But at the same time, he knew he would dwell on it and regret not helping if he turned his back on the situation.
Toshinori sighed, as he hung up the phone. He had just enough time to maybe pop in at the end of the lesson, maybe he would check on how the students felt about the rescue exercises. No doubt that a few of them would even prefer them. Young Uraraka and Young Midoriya to speak of a few.
And concerning Midoriya...Toshinori wasn’t quite sure what to think about the boy. He was indiscriminately kind, with a burning need to help and a self-sacrificing Quirk...Toshinori didn’t need to be a good teacher to know that Midoriya would need some serious guidance to minimise the possibility of the boy overusing his Quirk and seriously harming himself with it.
And the boy had kept his promise to secrecy as well. Granted it had only been five days, but still, none of the teachers seemed to have noticed Toshinori’s slip too. Although, he wouldn’t put it past Nedzu to have somehow caught wind of the fact that he’d revealed himself either.
“Ah, All Might, here you are.” The familiar somewhat squeaky voice of the Principal called through the room as he entered.
“Principal Nedzu, for what do I owe the honor?” Toshinori smiled shakily. His mind was in two different places, one focused on the room and the things around him, whilst the other...was rather concerned about the lack of ability to contact either Thirteen or Aizawa. UA usually got perfect signal on most all the campus so why…
“Well, I heard you used up your time limit for the day, and decided to take this opportunity for a chat!” Nedzu replied cheerfully, moving forwards to sit opposite Toshinori before helping himself to a cup of tea.
“A-ah…” Toshinori sighed. Though he most certainly did enjoy conversation with Nedzu, he tended to be a little...long winded, trapping him in conversation for literal hours even during times when someone had only meant to speak to him only a couple minutes. And his mind couldn’t help but stray towards his students.
“So, you’ve shown your true form to one of the students already?” Nedzu smiled, sipping at his tea. “I suppose it was only a matter of time, but the second day was a lot sooner than I had expected. We should be glad it was only one of the students and not a whole class, I suppose.”
Toshinori winced. Yeah...it was one thing to reveal his major secret to one student, but had he not made such a speedy get away from the lesson and revealed himself to the eighteen others instead...that might not have turned out so well.
“Well, what about him then?” Nedzu asked suddenly taking a sip of his tea.
“What about who?”
“Midoriya Izuku. What about him as your successor?” Nedzu suggested, and Toshinori paused. “The boy already seems to have similar morals and beliefs as you were looking for, not to mention he has the innate kindness not unlike yourself. He is also now aware of your true form, something that wouldn’t have to be explained to someone else if you chose otherwise.”
Toshinori couldn’t bring himself to speak immediately, he shifted slightly before answering. “I think it’s a little too early to be making definitive decisions. After all, I’ve only known the boy a week so far…”
“Yes, this an important decision. If you’re not absolutely sure, then it would not be wise to go along with it.” Nedzu nodded, picking up on Toshinori’s discomfort. “You should sit in on one of the third years training exercises, to see Mirio in action. He was the one that Sir Nighteye suggested was he not?”
Toshinori shifted in his seat again, the option not settling well with him. “Perhaps, but--”
He cut himself off, the sound of distant running. Clanging not unlike someone in armor running...Toshinori shifted to his hero form just in time for the door to slam open and a rather harried looking Iida panting for breath.
“All Might-- There’s an attack! At the USJ! Villains invaded, please help!” Iida panted, coughing slightly.
The dread that had been slowly building in Toshinori’s chest overflowed. Villains attacking the school? His breath caught in his throat, only Aizawa and Thirteen were there. Although both were fully capable heroes in their own rights, they were not equipped to be fighting however many villains alone especially not those of a caliber high enough to infiltrate the campus without triggering any alarms.
Toshinori turned to look at Nedzu, who’s cheerful exterior was overtaken by a calm but serious expression. “Go, I’ll round up the teachers with Iida here.”
That was all Toshinori needed, to sprint out of the room and rush with all his strength towards the USJ facility. He would never forgive himself if anything bad happened to the students because he shirked his responsibilities, leaving them insufficiently protected.
When he burst through the door, he was unsurprised but angered at the various expressions of relief on the nearby students’ faces. A few even relieved to tears, a Young Uraraka kneeling by the side of an injured Thirteen, their suit ripped completely at the back, unconscious and unable to fight.
He moved to the top of the stairs and stared down at the plaza below, angered as he took in the sight of Aizawa on the floor broken and bloodied whilst a few of his students having to fight villains. Asui in the midst of a close quarters battle with a man decorated in severed hands, whilst Todoroki and Ashido faced off against a monstrous looking being. At least Midoriya hadn’t had to fight the last remaining villain, although the way he held a red dripping hand to his chest was more than concerning.
Moving swiftly, Toshinori carefully tucked Midoriya and Aizawa under one arm each, moving them back towards the stairs placing them gently down. He was quick to remove Ashido, Todoroki and Asui from the battlefield as well.
“Everyone, head to the entrance. I’m leaving Aizawa to you.” Toshinori said, his gaze locked onto the villains. The hand covered one was straightening their stance as the fog villain moved forwards, the large monster’s unfocused gaze snapped to Toshinori.
Just before he could step forwards, Midoriya spoke up. “I can treat some of sensei’s wounds, he’s still bleeding and the longer it is until he gets medical help the worse off he’ll be.” The boy argued.
In an ideal situation, Aizawa would have been able to wait for medical attention, the children moving as far away from the battlefield as possible. Toshinori wanted to dismiss them all, say that five minutes waiting for medical aid would be better than risking all of their lives.
“Very well then. But the others should head to the exit as soon as possible.” He compromised. Though he’d never forgive himself if the students got wound up in the line of fire, he’d also never forgive himself should anything happen to Aizawa that could have been prevented by first aid.
Just as Toshinori straightened up, to walk forwards Midoriya spoke up. “Be…” He started, swallowing before trying again. “Be careful, All Might. They said they want to kill you. T-That’s why they’re here.”
And just like that the blood in his chest turned to ice. The reason that all the students here were in danger, the reason that Aizawa and Thirteen are hurt so badly, and the reason that the villains trespassed on UA grounds, was all because of him. Despair quickly turned to rage as he squared his jaw.
“They called that thing Noumu, and it’s their weapon against you. A-and…” Midoriya hesitated for a moment looking a little sheepish. “Have you got...uh the time?”
His heart was in the right place, and bless Young Midoriya for thinking of Toshinori’s safety at a time like this. But there wasn’t a moment to lose, he had to fight these villains. Midoriya had provided enough information but if he stood around talking and arguing there was nothing to worry about, his already stretched time would be used completely.
And so with that, Toshinori gave the boy a grin and said, “Young Midoriya, everything will be fine.”
He then turned back to the villains, giving the boy no room for argument. Within seconds, Toshinori was sending a Carolina Smash towards the hand covered villain which was hastily blocked by a monster the villain called Noumu.

TodoDeku AU #001
Strangers meeting inside a movie theater.
Izuku was confused at what he just did. Before he could even change his mind, the lady had already handed him his movie ticket and there was no way he could back down now. He unknowingly stared at the title printed in bold —I love you, you’re just too dumb to realize but my feelings won't ever change— and even though he wasn’t too dumb to realize that it was without a doubt the longest and cheesiest movie title he had ever seen, he felt stupid for trusting Tsuyu and Ochako’s words that the movie was the bomb of the year. He really wasn’t into romance flicks but he guessed it wouldn’t hurt to try.
Also, who knew? Maybe they were right and he was simply judging the movie by its title. Perhaps it was safe to at least give this movie a chance. After all, he needed to get his mind off things like his huge fight with Kacchan, and this was a great distraction. Hopefully. He was supposed to invite his best friend to go see this movie together but Kacchan got mad at him for reasons he didn’t even know. But really, what a very typical Kacchan thing to do. Kacchan was Kacchan and even though he had flaws, he was a great friend and Izuku loved him for all that he was. So after the movie, he decided to look for something he could give to him as a token of apology.
Back to our bomb movie of the year. For something that was, ahem, worth seeing, he was quite surprised to see that the theater was-
“Empty,” Izuku managed to say just above a whisper.
But since it was too silent, he could hear his voice loud and clear, and suddenly he felt a chill ran down his whole body. It wasn’t like he was going to watch a horror movie, why was he being panicky? Who cared if it was just him inside the huge, dark movie theater for two hours?
“Damn. I do care. I know this is the first time I’m doing this thing alone but… Now I’m… Tss. To think I’d literally be alone,” he sighed as he walked down the aisle and chose to sit in the fourth row, right in the middle.
“Okay. Let’s hope this one’s good.”
The opening credits rolled in and several minutes have passed and-
He hated the movie.
He wasn’t going to blame his friends because they probably have different taste in cinema but…
He hated the movie.
30 minutes and nothing exciting was happening. It was the right theater, wasn’t it? The movie wasn’t even cheesy. It was just dull and bland and anti-climactic. He didn’t mind slow-paced stories but this took the cake. It was… How should he put it. It was one of the worst decisions he had ever made. He should learn to watch trailers before diving right into any unheard titles but where’s the fun in that? were his friends’ exact words.
What was fun?
Where was it?
It was anything but this.
Izuku could feel his lids getting heavier and heavier until he thought he heard something but he was too far gone to even care. And just like that, wasted money be damned but he couldn’t take it anymore, the back of his head hit the back seat and then everything went black.
He was startled awake by something cold touching his left cheek and a deep yet soft voice talking to him.
“Hey…”
“Hmmm…”
“Movie’s over.”
“Mmm, thank fuck it is,” he grunted, eyes still closed.
Okay, now. Izuku didn’t usually swear but he was blaming his dazed state of mind. Or the movie. Of course, the movie was definitely the one to blame here. He could hear a low, delicious chuckle and a soft vibration on his right cheek.
Wait- Did he just think delicious?
Also wait, soft vibration?
Izuku’s eyes fluttered open to see the movie screen had already faded to black and that he was possibly lying on the shoulder of a stranger. He reluctantly twisted his head up to see who was kind enough not to wake him in his dreamless sleep. Lo and behold, he found himself staring at the most beautiful heterochromatic eyes he had ever laid his eyes on.
“A cat?” He muttered absentmindedly.
The kind stranger snorted, obviously trying not to laugh at what he just blurted out.
“I’m not a cat. You better wake up now, sleeping beauty. The attendant will be here any minute now and they’ll kick us out,” Mr. Stranger said with his gentle, velvety voice. His hand softly caressing his cheek.
It took him a good few seconds before everything sunk in and that he wasn’t dreaming about talking to a gorgeous cat with heterochromatic eyes. He swiftly removed his head from the stranger’s shoulder as he felt his face getting hot and flushed red.
“I’m sorry! I-I was… I d-didn’t mean to… I’m, I’m really sorry!”
Izuku was using his most apologetic face and voice while bowing repeatedly in front of the man. Damn, he was so embarrassed he felt like if the ground ate him right at the moment, he wouldn’t be shocked and sorry for himself but thankful as eff instead.
“That’s okay. I don’t mind. I was bored in the middle of the movie as well. I was two rows behind you and I noticed your head fell hard against the armrest. I felt the need to at least check if you were okay. Thankfully, you didn’t hurt yourself or scratched your head. I kinda helped you to a more proper sitting position and I was about to go back to my seat but you suddenly grabbed me and wouldn’t let go. Man, you have a vice grip for a kid.”
“Now I feel more sorry for- Wait a second there. A kid? You said I was a kid?! I’m not a kid! I’m already a university student and I get good grades, thank you very much,” he argued with his arms crossed.
Mr. Stranger was kind, yes but was he being savage in a subtle way?
He was sure he wasn’t acting like an adult, if that’s what he wanted to prove, seeing that he was pouting like a butt-hurt kid but he had every right to be a bit mad, right? Even a stranger had the nerve to make fun of him. Poor Izuku. But then he saw the soft smile on his face. He was clearly not making fun of him to annoy him. He was probably trying to make light of the situation and erase the awkwardness.
“Thank you. And… I’m sorry for shouting at you and for being a bother. But yeah, thank you for… what you did. You could have just ignored me but you didn’t,” Izuku relaxed and gave him an abashed smile.
“You’re welcome and I don’t blame you for falling asleep. The movie sucks.”
“Ha! Damn right, it does. I should have watched All Might 2 again instead of wasting some cash over some trash.”
“All Might’s cool. I’d rather re-watch that, too. I just watched this because a friend gave me a free ticket.”
Izuku moved to a more comfortable position. The man was maybe the same his age but taller. Tch. He still didn’t have the right to make fun of his height, okay? But since he’s gorgeous and that Izuku wasn’t even going to question why his hair was split into half-white and half-red because holy shit, it fitted him perfectly. And he's also an All Might fan!
He's almost perfect.
“You’re staring.”
Even his lips were luscious and that scar just made him cool and manly and-
He was caught.
Shit.
Quick! Make an excuse.
“AH! I was thinking that maybe I should... repay you? Uh…”
“You don’t have to.”
“I really want to,” Izuku answered firmly.
“If you insist we could-”
“Watch All Might 2 together?”
“I was thinking coffee since it’s pretty late but we can do both. How about coffee tonight and All Might 2 this Saturday?”
Izuku couldn’t help but grin and nod his head.
“But before that, I really wanted to know your name ‘cause I don’t wanna keep calling you Mr. Stranger, you know.”
“Sounds fair. Todoroki Shouto, at your service, sleeping beauty,” he teasingly said as he stood up, bowed and offered Izuku his hand.
Izuku was about to get mad at him again but then he noticed the cinema attendant. He was definitely going to ask them to leave so he was left without a choice.
“I’m not sleeping beauty. My name’s Midoriya Izuku,” Izuku sighed but took his hand and couldn't help but smile regardless.
Todoroki-kun’s hand felt cold. He wasn’t sure if it was because of the low temperature of the almost vacant movie theater but despite that, he also felt warmth slowly spreading all over him. And he thought, it felt really nice.
The following day, Izuku didn’t forget to thank his good friends for being the sole reasons for a chance meeting he never thought would ever happen.
“Hey guys! By the way, I hated the movie but thank you!” Those were Izuku’s words as he greeted them inside the half-empty classroom. He sat with them and brought out his phone.
“Thought so,” Tsuyu muttered while Ochako giggled. And then…
“Wait, what?! You watched that movie?! Noooooo,” Ochako was so shocked that she abruptly stood up and almost knocked her desk.
“And look at that, you’re still thanking us. You are way too kind Midoriya-chan,” Tsuyu proudly said as she tried to pull Ochako to sit again.
“Oh my gosh, Deku. We were just messing around.”
“We didn’t think you’d take us seriously.”
“Yeah... I mean, that movie has a 4.5/10 rating on IMDb. AND THE TITLE. The title's a dead giveaway.”
“Whoa, that bad, huh? Kero.”
“Come on guys, it wasn’t bad. It was really, really, REALLY bad,” Izuku said with mirth in his voice as he typed something on his phone.
How could they believe him when he had that huge smile plastered on his face? What the hell happened yesterday?
“I don’t understand, Tsuyu. Did the movie break him or something?”
“That might be the case. Look at him, he’s too… pleased?”
“If I were him, I would be somehow pissed and not pleased. He’s too precious. Or, something really did happen.”
“Oh by the way, do you wanna watch All Might 2 this coming weekend?” Izuku asked them, eyes still glued to his phone, and fingers still busy typing away.
“We already watched it, Deku. Actually, we watched it all together. How are you doing, my friend? Are you even Deku?” Ochako and Tsuyu exchanged laughs all the while being completely baffled by their friend’s behavior.
“I’m going to watch it again with Todoroki-kun. If you guys wanna join us, then just send me a message.”
He wasn’t even listening to them anymore.
“Also, I’m kinda hungry so I’ll just grab some breakfast in the cafeteria. See you!”
And with that, Izuku put his phone in his pocket as he waved goodbye, leaving his completely bemused friends behind with that silly smile still gracing his face.
“Who the heck’s Todoroki-kun and what did he do to our friend?”
“He is the something really did happen, Ochako-chan.”

Bakugou and Fem Izuku in: Secret lover’s! Chapter 1- I love you!
Kikkie: Hi! A fanfic series for my hero academia! Because, why not, I thought this couple was cute. Plus, with only seeing a little too few clips, I can deeply say that Bakugou...is going to be fun to write.
So, thank you for taking time out of your life to read this
Summary: Izuku and Bakugou are dating, but in secret. Why, because Bakugou said so, and also another reason that I will think up soon. Enjoy!
“Where the fuck are you going Deku?” I asked the little bitch wearing that fucking mini skirt like she had legs to show off. I don’t know why, but she’s starting to look fat to me, and not in the way you think. “Hm? Oh, this?” She asked me before grabbing the side of her skirt. Lifting it up a bit, probably giving all the perverts behind her a show! I bet she’s wearing a thong too, fucking cunt! “Toru and Ochaco helped me get this. Apparently, I grew out of my uniform, as what Mina had told me. So we got a new one, turns out this is the only XL they had. Go figures!” Izuku tells me, in all honesty, she was right. And I know she was wearing a large because I have seen fat bitches wearing what she is wearing. The skirts are supposed to go around her bellybutton, which it did. Only to stop a few inches below her thighs, showing off her legs. And those fucking black thigh highs didn’t help in the least. And then the vest, sure it fitted her, but it didn’t make her large rack invisible like most of the girls here. My god, those things grew during the summer! Same goes for her ass! I can’t tell if that’s fat or muscle! “Well, it makes you look fat! Get rid of it!” I growled at her. As the Deku she is, her cheeks turn red before looking down at her uniform. I am guessing she felt a bit of shame because she presses her hand to her stomach before taking a seat. The next second later, those bubbling idiot friends of hers came running into the room. Squalling a shit, sounding like a dead horse trying to escape death. God, hurts my fucking ears! “I see someone’s annoyed.” Oh great, Eijiro here’s… “Very,” I responded. Maybe if I try hard enough to be mad he will go away. “I see the fangirls group is here. But why are they counseling Izuku? Did you say something to her?” “I told her that her new uniform makes her look fat.” “Dude!? No!” Eijiro nearly screamed. “That ass! Why would you tell her to cover up that ass! Dude, she’s like the hottest girl in the whole school!” “Your joking?” I asked in a calm manner. In reality, I was trying my best not to blow his fucking face off. How dare he say that to me about Izuku! Of course, I know she’s hot! Fucking looking at her! Tall, long pretty green hair, freckles that shine brighter than my explosions, and birthing hips! Fucking birthing hip just waiting to produce MY KIDS! That’s right, that fucking bitch shouldn’t be getting any other guys attention but me! The only guy who gets to check that ass out is me! Oh goddammit, now I have a boner!! “Class has started!” Ugh, the black-haired fuck shouted as he enters the class. As if today can’t get any worse! Okay, don’t think about Izuku! What’s that smell? Banana? Strawberry? Like Izuku perfume. Ugh…don’t…don’t think about…
“PRINCE!” What? My prince charming!” Izuku, that frizzy dress she always wore when we played. It was flowey but always wrinkled. It pissed me off, but what pissed me off more was that fucking Taira she wore. “My prince charming! My hero!” Izuku shouted. Waving her little wand in the air and shouting out weird sounds. She and I stood in the middle of the forest where we would play prince and princess. She sometimes would climb up a tree and pretend to be kidnapped and I would go save her. Today, was different. “Ugh, I hate this game! It's so boring!” I growled at her as I helped her down the tree. Once on the ground, she wipes pats the dust off her before saying: “Then why don’t I rescue you!” “Rescue me?” I asked. I don’t remember why, but that was the first time I started to feel anger towards her. “Yea, you know! Like how you rescue me since we will both be hero’s one day, we should train on saving each other.” “Are you calling me weak!?” “No, I-SHUT UP!” I shouted at her. Cutting her off mid-sentence so that shut that mouth of hers. “You’re the damsel in our relationship! Not the hero! You will never save me in any situation! You will never become a hero!” I shouted at her. Tears forming in her big eyes as her body trembles. She clasps her hands together and held them over her chest. She looked like she was trying not to cry, but she was failing. “But…I want to be a hero. Like…like…” “Oh, that stupid hero Toshinori Yagi!! Forget about him and stay a princess! Your weak, you won’t be able to fight!” I shouted. The next thing I remembered was grabbing that tiara she wears and breaking it. Making her run home crying to her mom. A second later her mom told my mom, which led to a beating of a lifetime, but hey, the bitch doesn’t hit hard.
“Bakugou.” “Bakugou?” “Bakugou!” Goddamit! Why the hell is Deku yelling in my ear!? Wait…why is it dark? Where is everybody? The fuck is going on here?! “Bakugou! You're awake!” Izuku with a smile on her face. Why the hell is she smiling, the world gone fucking black! “What the fuck?” I growled. “Oh, a villain attacked the school while you were sleeping. He set off this sleeping gas that knocked half the school out. Luckily, Shoto was able to keep the smoke from affecting all of us. Then our might hero principle swooped in and fought the bad guy! It was awesome!” “What are you saying?” “You and a bunch of other classmates have been sleeping the entire day. But don’t worry, you guys are in perfect condition.” “You let me sleep the entire fucking fight!?” “Well, I was sort of busy getting students out of the building while helping Shoto fight the villain's goons. Oh my gosh, Mina went behind one of them and kicked him in the balls.” “I WILL KICK YOU IN THE BALLS!!” I shouted at her…then it hits me. She doesn’t have any balls. “Why are you so mad?” Because you left me here to fight! Are you kidding me!? Fucking Deku, you could have gotten killed you, stupid bitch!” “Calm down.” “I AM NOT GOING TO FUCKING CALM DOWN! WHY ARE YOU SUCH A FUCKING DEKU!? YOU STUPID PIECE OF SHIT THAT CAN’T TAKE A GODDAM HINT! I FUCKING-SHUT UP!!! She shouted at me. Slamming her fists down onto my desk, a bright light of green electric engulfs the plastic wood before destroying. Her hands slump over her knees as her green locks fall down past her shoulders. Her body trembles as the room begin to fill with sniffling sounds. But ignoring that, did this bitch just destroy my desk? “Why…” She whimpers. Was this bitch actually crying? “What?” I growled. “Why do you hate me so much?” She cries before turning her head to the side to look at me. Tears and snot staining her face, she looked like a weeping angel with the moonlight shining onto her wetness. Wetness…see this is why I fucking hate fanfic writers! Ugh, crying stupid…ugh! Standing up quickly, I reached over to her shoulder then shook her a bit. If I exploded even a little, I would have hurt her, and I didn’t want that. Crying, she looks up to me with diamonds shining tears in her eyes. I haven’t seen her cry like this since…well, you know. “Tch, Deku,” I growled. God, why was she hot. “I don’t hate you. You annoy me, but I don’t hate you.” “Then why do you treat me so mean?” “I treat you mean because of the way you look.” “What?” “Not that way!” I growled. How do I say this without looking like a sexist pig? “Look, I…lov… I loo…I lovvvv….dammit!” Dammit! I feel like a fucking dumbass doing this shit! Why can’t I say it! It's just three stupid words! “I love you.”   She tells me. I think my heart stopped for a moment there, it never happened before. Well, not like this, it happened before but for other reasons. “You…what?” I asked. “I love you! I have always loved you! Ever since we were kids, I have always loved you!” She started. Oh, you cannot be serious! “But then you got your powers (or Quirk, whatever!) and started to be mean. Then when we came here, you got even meaner…” “Yea…” Was all I could say at this point. She wasn’t wrong, I was an ass. I won’t lie, my anger can get the best of me and make me a crappy person. Will I ever change? Possibly! Will it be soon? Don’t bet on it. “All the girls started to talk to you. Flashing at you, getting the hots for you. So many pretty girls, I felt that I couldn’t compete against them.” She tells me. “But then we were put in the same class! Which made me so happy that I felt my heart nearly burst! I felt like I was given a second chance, so I studied hard. I worked out a lot with my sensei’s and friends, and I even gain the courage to stay here when everyone left.” “Wait, what?” What did she mean by that? “Oh, um, were the only ones here.” She says. “Everyone was scared of you, no one wanted to wake you up or even wait for you to wake up. So, everyone left.” “Why did you stay?” “Because I love you. And even though you mean sometimes, I know deep down in your heart, you love me too.” She tells me before getting on her tippy toes. The scent of strawberry fills my nose. Was the villain back already!? No, it was her! It was her perfume! And…
She’s kissing me! Holly shit, she’s kissing me! My heavenly father fuck! Her lips feel so good, god-dam! How are these virgin lips!? I feel them sticking to mine like glue or honey. Quickly, I hoist my hand up to the back of her head, holding it before getting down to work. With my other limp, I wrapped my arms around her waist, holding her close to me. I lean forward towards her a bit more, applying pressure onto her lips with my tongue. A soft moan escapes her lips. A tiny opening which allowed my tongue to seep into that warm moist mouth of hers. Her tiny tongue tries to escape mine, but like a snake about to attack its prey, I wrapped my tongue hers. Pulling it, feeling it, tasting it. It tries to escape but fails, only to give into the pleasure before indulging herself. When our lips separated, our tongues stayed together. Rubbing and tasting each other with no regret. Sadly, her toes got tired, forcing her to move downwards and lean against my chest. Both of us breathing deeply, trying to regain ourselves. As she lays against my chest, I couldn’t help but squeeze that big lump of meat in my hand. Looking down a bit, without realizing, I saw my hand was over her butt. “You got a big ass, when did this happen?” I asked my green haired princess. I could feel her blushing ear to ear even with a shirt on. “Mina…and I have been doing…a lot of workouts.” She moaned. Ugh, I think I have to take back what I said about Mina now. Because if she’s the reason Izuku has this, then by god I will buy her lunch for a year. “Has anyone ever touched you like this?” I asked. “Once…” She tells me. “Who?” I growled I wanted to take note so that I remember who to kill. “A stranger on the bus. He grabbed my butt once. But Shoto was there to help me by recording him, so I was fine in the end.” She…WHAT!? A pervert grabbed her and Shoto rescued my woman!? Yes, my fucking woman! I don’t give a fuck if I am a bigot at this point, this bitch is mine! Mine to hold, love and even breed! So fuck you, readers! “Tch! You're not going on the bus anymore, you got me!” “But, how will I get home?” “I will take you home!” I growled. “So stop asking questions and just smile for me!” “Uh…okay!”
