Sulking at the Gala
Warnings: none (I think), let me know if I missed any :)
Pairings: Batfamily x batsis!reader
Request: Heyyy!! I was thinking about batfam x batsis going to a gala and hanging out with the kids. She swears that she hates them, but she could never stay mad at a child for too long. Her brothers were kinda confused, because shy were you hanging out with little kids and not them? They were kinda jealous tbh. You'd be seen playing peekaboo with a baby or carrying them in the air like superman. Sorry if this made no sense, I wanted to keep it simple so you could kinda add/ change some things if you wanted to. Have a nice day!
Request by: Anon
*not my gif*
Summary: You absolutely hate going to galas. You’re always miserable during them… right?
A/N: I didn’t know how to end it so… I just ended it 😭😭
Please don’t plagiarize my work, you may reblog if you like but I’m asking that you don’t steal my hard work
Tumblr media
You pulled down on your dress with a grumble, a hard glare set on your face as you walked side by side with your family into the lavish building.
Bruce nudged your side with a glare, “Smile,” He urged desperately, “At least let the paparazzi get one picture of you being happy.”
Your own glare found its way to your fathers form, “I’ll smile when I’m back home in my bed, in my pajamas,” You hissed back.
It was no secret that you despised galas more than any of your other siblings, which is saying something. Not only did you hate the people there, but you also hated the fact that they always brought their kids. Kids were obnoxious and downright annoying. From what your family had gathered over the years, you had absolutely no tolerance for them.
When times came around that you were dragged kicking and screaming to a gala, you would sulk in the corner the entire time, glaring and snapping at any member of your family that tried to make you leave and interact with people.
“So, how much you wanna bet that Y/n sits down and doesn’t get up until this stupid party’s over?” Jason snickered, purposefully talking loud enough for you to overhear.
You marched over and punched him in the arm, not caring as Bruce chuckled nervously while glancing at the onlooking crowd. Dick and Tim laughed loudly as Jason scowled and rubbed the sore spot on his shoulder and even Damian smirked a little bit.
When you and your family finally surged through the sea of people at the door and were finally free to mill around, you automatically made a beeline to a corner table, snatching appetizers off trays as you went.
Your father sighed, running a tried hand down his face, “She can’t just try to enjoy one of these parties?” He groaned slightly.
Dick sighed, mockingly patting his shoulder comfortingly, “Guess she doesn’t find these nearly as exciting as you,”
He skipped off cackling with his brothers following closely on his heels, ignoring Bruce’s exhausted expression.
Your head snapped up when you felt someone tap you on the shoulder, ready to tell your brothers off, but instead, you were met with the sight of a young girl- about four years old- smiling up at you bashfully.
“Hi,” She whispered shyly.
“Hi,” You greeted back dumbly.
“What’s your name?” She began rocking back and forth on her heels.
“Y/n,” You hesitated, “What’s yours?”
She grinned, “Makayla!”
About an hour had passed dully as Dick, Jason, Tim, and Jason all lounged around a table near the dance floor, bored out of their minds.
“Look at him,” Jason scoffed, eying Bruce from across the room as he laughed loudly at what some random ceo had said, “He enjoys watching us be miserable.”
Tim sighed, dropping his head back, “Now I know why n/n makes such a big deal about these things.”
“Speaking of,” Dick piped up, “How do you think she’s doing?”
“L/n?” Damian suddenly stuttered out.
Tim looked over at him incredulously, “Yeah, who else?”
“No, I mean look at her,” The young boy insisted.
All at once, all of their heads snapped over in your direction and their jaws dropped open, gaping at you in complete shock.
You stood with a large group of children surrounding you ranging from the ages of three to eight, all of them either standing or sitting around while looking up at you in awe.
The large smile on your face made them nearly die of shock as they watched you spin around with a small child in your arms, who was giggling like crazy.
“What is she-“ Dick choked out.
“She’s…” Tim couldn’t even form a full thought.
You put the kid down and bent down near two younger children and began playing peekaboo with them, watching with a smile as they burst out into fits of laughter.
“But… she does not like spending time with us during these galas.” Damian spoke up with a small glare in the childrens directions.
“She’d rather hang out with kids then us?” Dick shrieked in horror.
“I never thought I’d see the day.”
All four boys snapped their attentions to an amused looking Bruce, who stood behind them and watched as you ticked a close by kids stomach.
“Why is she-“
“Who knows?” Bruce cut Tim off with a shrug, “But at least she’s not sulking anymore.”

( Referring to Dick, Jason, Tim, Damian and yn )
reporter: Who is your favorite son?
Bruce ( on a bad day ): I have no favorites, I hate everyone equally.
reporter: ....
Bruce: I woke up with shaving cream on my slippers. And stick it in my comb.
Reporter: ????
Bruce: "It's just a little fun," they said. "The war on pranks is not going to increase," they said. Look at me. Do I seem to be having fun? Why are they waging a war on pranks in my house when only one of them still lives there and some of them never lived there?

◜𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐥𝐢𝐬𝐭 & 𝐌𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐜𝐬 & 𝐒𝐜𝐞𝐧𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐬◞
Tumblr media
┊ ᝰ﹕For a long time, I’ve had this playlist about Jason that I created based on some specific universes and scenarios, and now I associate all of them with him and specific situations. Anyway, I decided to share a little about it with you.
┊ ᝰ﹕The following words were written by a woman with insomnia during an anxiety-filled and obsessive night about Jason Todd.
Tumblr media
♧ Electric Love
This song makes me feel like I'm in a specific scenario where Jay and the reader are just riding a motorcycle on one of their outings through Gotham, without any specific destination. I imagine the sun setting and giving way to the city lights at night while they just speed off towards nowhere.
♤ Go To Hell
This one is a bit more specific to the Vigilante universe. It happens right after they meet again following Jay’s death and all the drama of Red Hood vs. Batman. Jason rejoins the team, but the reader has already moved on or at least tries to, despite Jason's constant presence by their side. So, after a successful mission, they decide to have a happy hour with some of the older team members like Babs, Dick, Luke, and Kate. The reader ends up meeting one of their flings while Jason ends up drinking too much. I feel this song is exactly what’s going through his head the whole time.
♧ End Game
First of all, I’d like to make it clear that this song is definitely the song for Jason and Vigilante. There simply isn’t a better definition of them than this. Okay, just imagine Jay alongside another vigilante with a turbulent past and questionable morals, who is equal to or worse than him in ruthlessness. They simply become the royalty of Gotham’s underworld. Criminals would shudder just hearing about them because they know how bad they were separately, but together, they are completely unbeatable.
♤ Adiós
This one is short and quite similar to Electric Love, but different at the same time. In this, Jason and the vigilante are riding a motorcycle through Gotham, the reader on the back while Red Hood pops a wheelie on the wet asphalt of rainy Gotham. That night, there was a small breakout in one of the smaller prisons, nothing as serious as Arkham but still dangerous. So, the whole team spreads out across the city looking for the criminals. The adrenaline is strong while shooting at criminals at high speed, and Jason’s hand on your thigh to congratulate you on a job well done.
♧ Love Me Harder
This one is extremely specific and also takes place in the Vigilante universe. Jay and the reader were sent on a mission to Tokyo, which wasn’t uncommon as they had to travel frequently. They end up staying in a cheap hotel that served as a great hideout for them. By this point, they are already a couple. In fact, I feel this is where things change for both of them in their relationship. The mission ends well and ahead of schedule, but they decide to stay and enjoy the beauty of Tokyo, going out at night, trying foods, or buying silly things at fairs, just being young and in love on a trip without any external worries.
♤ Harleys In Hawaii
This story happens when Jason, finally, after much insistence from the reader, decides to take a vacation. And nothing is better than a hotel in Hawaii, in which Bruce is one of the partners, far away from Gotham and vigilantism. So, the next two weeks are summarized by boat rides along the coast, diving, hiking, and romantic seaside encounters with a tanned Jason, with his sculpted and tattooed body under the Hawaiian sun.
♤ Dark Paradise
This story takes place in two scenarios at the same time, where the reader is a classical dancer. The reader is in their dance studio, rehearsing late at night to relax and relieve the weight of their feelings. "Dark Paradise" plays on the sound system while they spin and leap around the mirrored room, but their mind travels to the previous night, where another Wayne gala took place. All the pomp and candlelight created an ethereal atmosphere with Jason there. He hated balls but knew the reader would be present. So, there he was, in a well-tailored suit, his eyes fixed on the reader as they entered the ballroom, almost hypnotically. The rest of the night was filled with tension and small "accidental" touches everywhere.
♧ Valentine
This is a simple yet extremely cute story, where Jay takes the reader to a carnival that was passing through Gotham that weekend. And it is nothing but intoxicatingly cute. They go through all the rides, and Jay makes sure to win the biggest teddy bear at the shooting gallery. They eat junk food and laugh idiotically as they walk, with Jay’s strong arms around the reader’s shoulders. They end the night on the Ferris wheel, having a perfect view of Gotham's lights. When they head back home, their hands are full of prizes and photos taken in photo booths.
♤ Marry You
This story came about because of a one-shot I read here once and simply could never get out of my head (I really don’t remember the author’s name, but if you know, please leave the name of this heaven-sent angel in the comments). The scenario is basically this: Jay and the vigilante are on a mission in Vegas, and things almost get out of control, but it ends with a "if we survive, will you marry me?". And they do survive. They look for a chapel the next day, wearing simple clothes and nothing but each other and an Elvis-dressed officiant. For them, it is simply perfect. Everything happens with lots of smiles and loving gazes. Afterward, they just enjoy the Vegas gambling and casinos (let’s completely ignore the song lyrics, okay? Just feel the vibe).

🌿🍃Toxic Lover: Pt: I
Nightwing X male!reader with a former team who had become Poison Ivy like meta-human.
Summary:Your a former Titan teammate, you and Dick have unresolved feelings and you become infected with the same toxins and chemicals that turned Poison Ivy into a meta-human.
————————
It was a simple mission. Get in and get out. It wasn’t supposed to go the way it had.
Y/n was a skilled fighter and vigilante, he trained with Black Canary, WildCat, Wonder Woman and the League of Assassins. He operated as solo vigilante since he could remember.
He worked with most of the league and helped them as much as he could. He helped Batman and Robin a lot since he did very similar missions to them. When Dick formed the Titans and went solo as Nightwing he asked Y/n to join him. Y/n worked well with Starfire and Raven, he had fun playing games with Cyborg and Best Boy. He often hung out with Dick and Donna and Wally would visit often too.
Y/n took some time from the team and did solo missions for a while before being called by Dick to help him,Wally and Donna with a rescue mission in Metropolis.
“We just need to find the data bank with the information containing Ivy’s records and research. Luthor was help to gather and stored it in his lab. We need to get the information and destroy any bioweapon schematics.” Dick instructed.
“Anything we should be aware of,”Y/n perked up from his seat in the jet. Donna adjusted her sliver lasso to her waist,”Is Ivy herself involved?”
“As far as Batman’s intel can confirm she’s been missing for the last three months.” He confirms.
“Great so no giant kale bushes to crush us, noted.” Wally quipped. Y/n chuckled as Donna and Dick rolled their eyes.
——-
The Quad split into pairs;Wally and Donna and Dick and Y/n. Donna and Wally took the research offices upstairs meanwhile, Dick and Y/n took the lower levels.
Dick sneak into some of the office while Y/n found a hidden lab. He took photos, and took a flash drive to take the data from the server. He found several vials, tubes and plants on a desk and took photos.
“Nightwing, I’m in this lab. It looks they’ve extracted some of Ivy’s original pheromones and try to weaponize them.”
“I’ll be there soon…kinda busy.” He heard a loud bang and a punch. Y/n turned around to see a scientist and three guards at the doorway.
“Sorry you found this, but unfortunately Mr. Luthor doesn’t what this getting out. Boys don’t let him leave.” The scientist quickly fled as the guards moved in.
“Sorry lapdogs, but I’m leaving with the drive.” Y/n sprang into action and started fighting.
“It’s a trap, you have to get out of that room.” Nightwing’s voice filed the hero’s ear. Y/n managed to take out two goons but the last one was the biggest and blocked the only exit. He rushed Y/n and managed to forcefully shove him into the computer and servers. Knocking Y/n off his balance and disorienting him. He had cuts on his faces and blood trickled from his lip. Then, while he was stunned he took him and threw him into the desk with vitals and pheromones.
The two guard got the their feet and assisted in beating him to a pulp. Y/n was loosing his consciousness and went in and out. “..Dick—help.” He winced.
The large goon took the remaining vitals and smashed them over the hero. He threw the plant cart on him too and took out a lighter.
“Mr. Luthor sends his regards.” He threw the lighter at the spilled chemical and engulfed the room in flames.
——
The fire spread through out the facility and Nightwing managed to find the source. Toria and Flash managed to get to him but the flames were to high.
“We need to save him!” Nightwing tried to go towards the labs but Toria stopped him.
“You can’t go in there you’ll die!” He tried to push her but she wasn’t budgeting. Tears streaming down his face he begged his friends.
“Please, we have to try, please.” Wally nodded.”Get him to the surface I’ll try to get to Y/n. Go now!” He barked. Toria grabbed Nightwing and sped out of the lower levels as Flash created tornados to clear up the flames.
—-
Dick set on the jet without his mask, tears, bruises, and soot. Donna stood guard watching as the building’s flames were put out by firefighters. Wally entered the vessel with a stretcher with a white sheet on top.The form on it was Y/n’s body. Dick didn’t say a word as more tears formed in his eyes.
“It’s all my fault.” He hissed. Donna placed a hand on his shoulder,”It’s not Dick, you can’t blame—“
“It is. I asked him to come, I asked both of you to come and it nearly killed you all. I—l..” Dick broke down in tears and shouted. He rocked hisself and sob and Donna comforted him. Wally placed a hand on his other shoulder and talked him through it.
——-
Dick sat in his seat at the cemetery in Gotham. The small crowd of heroes dressed in black one by one left the small private ceremony for Y/n. Dinah gave a worried look at Dick whose gaze hadn’t left the spot where Y/n’s casket had been lowered into the earth and covered with fresh soil.
Bruce stood next to her and they didn’t speak right away but Dinah broke the silence. “Diana told me what happened from Donna. He hasn’t been the same.” Bruce didn’t reply.
“Well he be okay?” She hummed. Bruce turned to his friend and looked back at his son.”They were in love Dinah, it was obvious to most of us but not them. I’m not sure he if knew he loved Y/n as more than a friend, but I know he won’t stop until he can give him justice.”
“You think he’ll kil-“
“I hope not but I can only help him through this, I’ve learned a long time ago to not try to pressure him into a decision.” He walked to Dick and gave his shoulder a squeeze.
“Let’s go son.”
——-
Y/n saw his life flash before his eyes during his attack. Between each rib being fractured, another punch to the back, or kick to the stomach he felt his favorite memories flood his eyes.
From training the younger members of Young Justice with Dick’s little brother the third Robin, game nights with the Titans, going to a concert with Dick he practically dragged him to.
That concert was the best night of his life he felt so carefree, not birdied with the responsibilities of being a more experienced hero. Not feeling like he couldn’t tell his best friend how he truly felt, and just watch from a distance as he went out dates with other girls or laughed with the guys at games nights.
Y/n knew he was in deep shit from the moment he met the Last Flying Grayson, and he didn’t care.
The band was one he like since he was in Middle school, and he begged Dick for weeks to go with him, eventually he agreed to go because he felt bad for missing so many plans to help his family with their own missions.
“I hope they aren’t a snooze fest because I could have stayed home and listened to Tim explain Quant-Time travel.” He joked as Y/n pulled on his hoodie he just purchased.
He shoved his shoulders,”Don’t even Grayson these guys are the best. You’re not gonna regret it. Plus, don’t act like you don’t love Timmy’s rambles.” Y/n fired back.
He held his hands in surrender. “Hey I had to think of something.” Y/n took Dick’s hand and dragged him into the arena just as the music blared through the speakers. Y/n was unaware of the crimson color that painted Dick’s face. And to busy to notice the stole glances Dick took through the night.
—-
The smell of smoke burned Y/n’s nostrils and he chocked on it. But the blood in his mouth took out some of the harsh smells. The flames were roaring in the room and shortly everything began to spin. Y/n barely regained consciousness before everything swiftly went to black.
Then it went Green.
The green light became paler and paler and the sound of a heartbeat echoed. Almost in slow motion. Most of the light became closer too. Became bright white and the sounds of Gotham City came hard and fast like a gunshot.
Y/n stood up in the middle of the street and he noticed something wasn’t right. The last thing he remembered was dying in Metropolis and now he’s in old Gotham. To his left was the build up of traffic and to his right was Gotham Cemetery. He tried to move but fell to the ground.
“The fuck.” His hoarse voice choked out. He noticed his arms were covered in slime of some kind and leaves. He saw a small puddle and took a glance at his reflection. His face was the same but more beautiful, sharper features, deep green iris, and fuller lips.
“Hey freak, get outta the way!” A voice shouted and honked his horned.
Y/n snapped his head up and grew easily frustrated, his head was still spinning and blaring horn was causing more pain.
“Ugh, can’t you be idiotic somewhere else.” With his hand on the ground it began to shake and large vines jumped through the concrete and began to crush the car. The driver managed to get out before it was crushed to pieces. Y/n slowly got to his feet and stumbled.
“That’s new.” Several other drivers fled their cars and screams. Two officers drew their weapons and order Y/n to freeze. Something in Y/n slowly turned and began to change in his feelings toward the police.
“Freeze Freak!” The older officer hisses,Y/n cocks his head to the side with smirk.
“Pathetic pigs, you never appreciate the things you take for granted. You worthless meat sacks.”
The two officers look at each other,”Meat-what?” It’s short lived as vines bursted through the growing and take them prisoner. Y/n strolls over to them. He chuckles.
“Mother Earth wouldn’t be to proud of you. Nature will always win.” He takes his nails and scratches both across the face and then plants begin to grow out their faces and they gag. More large vines rise and take Y/n underground.
—————
He re-emerges in the old Gotham Greenhouse in Robinson Park. More vines and flowers bloom in the old building giving it a new look. The old overgrown plants become green and flourish again with life.
“Men have ruined you, I don’t know what yet, I know can revive you. But I promise you will be avenged. I am Mother Nature’s new branch and I will take Gotham first then, we will cleanse the rest of this planet.” He laughs to himself before the sound of glass shatters.
He worlds around to see Nightwing.
“Y/n,what happened to you. You were dead.” Y/n felt conflicted. On one hand he wanted run to Dick and get his help, but on the other hand he wanted to crush him and turn him into mulch.
Nightwing drew closer, “This isn’t you N/N. I don’t know what happened in the last 72 hours but you aren’t yourself. I can help you but you have to let me.” His voice was strained like his had been yelling or not speaking. It didn’t go unnoticed but something in Y/n didn’t care and he was constantly fighting a battle within himself.
“Dick—what?”
“I can help you,Y/n you have to understand I care about you. But you have to stop.” Nightwing earpiece buzzed and Y/n could heard the voice of Robin from a nearby plant. The words: Cops. Killed. Poisoned. Y/n.
Nightwing turned to him with a blank expression and a tighter grip on his weapons.
“Y/n, let me take you get help. I promise I won’t let anyone harm you.” His voice wasn’t as raw as it was. It was stern yet cautious.
The switch in Y/n flipped and the smirk and sultry voice returned.
“Dick, join me,” he persuades, “Become my Adam and help me flourish this place into a new garden. Just for the two of use.”
Nightwing took a defensive stanch. “Can’t do that. I’m sorry.” The last part was a whisper but Y/n caught it.
“Well then I’m sorry too.” With the flick of his wrist and two large flowers sprouted. The plants around Nightwing were now healthily and quickly attacked him.
Y/n rose several feet in the air on a seat of large leaves and petals. Nightwing dodged the vines but is eventually became captured after miscalculating a step after trying to not harm Y/n.
He’s wrapped in vines and is unable to move. The vines bring him closer to Y/n who purrs.
He runs a thumb across Dick’s lips. “I never noticed.” He whispered.
“What?” Dick huffed. Y/n takes his face and brings it closer. He has a soft smile and Dick is conflicted.
“How much I wanted to do this.” He kisses Dick. He tries break free of his binds but after a few moments he stops and kisses back and soon the kiss deepens and Y/n has to stop. He places his forehead against Dick’s and sighs.
Dick’s eyes are glossed over and his blue eyes are a pale green.
“Dick?”
“Yes, my Love?” He says deadpans. Y/n sighs to himself and releases him.
The virus in Y/n grows stronger. And he laughs to himself.
“We have a few housewarming gifts to give out. Fetch them for me Darlin.” Nightwing mindless obeys and leaves Y/n who glances at his appearance in the water fountain for the first time noticing the torn up suit he was buried in.
“It’s time for a new Harvest.”

Hi! I’m not sure if you’re still taking requests but if you are, can I ask for one, Batfam x vigilante!male!reader. The reader is a teen (younger than Tim and older than Damian). He’s like super smart and knows martial arts and is a total badass. The bat family has been trying to catch him for a year now. The reader just stopped a drug dealing, near the docks and was about to go back to patrolling but nightwing and Robin show up. They fight for a bit and robin kicks the reader in the water. The reader is exhausted too and passes out. Nightwing sees the reader not coming back up and dives in and rescues him. They take him back to the bat cave, put him in like a cell and the batfam starts questioning him. They find out he’s a kid and a orphan and ALSO knows who they are, bruce decides to adopt him (the reader and Robin not wanting that) but Bruce says something like since the readers just a kid and he already knows their identity, might as well adopt him and keep a eye on him. Thank youuuuu, I hope you can do this! Sorry if it’s a bit much <3
YIPPEE!!! First req in a long time :DD I had to churn this out in like two days so sorry if it feels rushed!
Ahahaha ignore that it’s 1:40 am
**I do not own any characters or part of the franchise from DC**
Pairing: Batfam x male!teen!vigilante!Reader
Genre: found family
Summary: go to req
Tw: brief mention of blood, almost drowning, mention of drugs and drug rings
It’s Called: Freefall
Being a vigilante in Gotham was easy. Easy if you were professionally trained in combat. Easy if you had the money to get every little convenient device you wanted.
Neither of which you were.
Both of which Batman and his posee of underlings were.
Sure you’d picked up what you could being on the street, fending for yourself, sneaking into dojos and boxing gyms to observe and practice later yourself. But in the end, you were just some kid trying to make your way in the vigilante scene. Which led you to the situation you were in currently.
You were crouched on top of two metal shipping crates staring down at the drug deal soon to take place. You squinted through the mixture of darkness and heavy rain. A new drug had recently hit Gotham’s streets and you intended to get your answers and drop the contraband by the police station.
You saw the seller take his position. You readied yourself but waited until the buyer showed up. You needed to be sure they actually had the drugs before you went down guns blazing, cracking skulls and kicking ass.
As soon as you saw the drugs leave the jacket you were on them, jumping from your hiding spot onto the seller, tackling him to the ground. The man yelped in surprise and pain while the buyer started running. You spared the buyer a glance, grunting in annoyance.
“Get the hell off of me you freak!” The seller yelled as you kneeled on his arms and back, pinning him to the ground and grabbing the dropped bag of substances. You sighed as he struggled under you.
“Where’d you get this?” You demanded, increasing the pressure on his back.
“None of your business!” He spat.
“Look, buddy. We can do this the easy way or the hard way. The hard way involves dangling from Wayne enterprises.” You said through grit teeth.
The man seemed to pale at the threat of heights.
“A-a ring leader…we just call him the boss. I swear that’s all I know!” He practically screamed.
“God what a cliché…” You grumbled to yourself, landing a swift blow to his head and knocking him out. You stood up and stretched, groaning.
‘Jesus—my back hurts.’
You brought the bag down to inspect it before shrugging and shoving it into your backpack. You’ll deal with it on the way home. You glanced back down at the unconscious drug hustler.
“Not your day today, buddy.” You said shaking your head.
Then you heard an abnormal sound in the white noise of the rain. A hard thunk on metal. You stilled. Were they really here? Had they searched for you specifically or did they get the same tip as you?
You tensed, preparing. Someone landed behind you and you whipped around to face them.
‘Nightwing.’
‘This is fine. I can handle him…. No. No I definitely can’t. Ok this is fine this is ok.’
“Ready to finally come quietly?” Nightwing flashed a smile.
You returned it with malice. “Never in a million years, boy wonder.” You laughed to yourself.
His smile faltered and he just shrugged.
“Well you brought this upon yourself.” He said and another person jumped down behind you.
You snapped your head in their direction.
‘Robin. The pipsqueak. Great.’
You backed away slowly from both of them, your eyes glancing back and forth between them. They both move at you suddenly. You jump back and dodge one attack from Robin, simultaneously throwing yourself into Nightwing—luckily it caused him to fumble. Your back hit the ground and you grunted in pain. Robin ran at you and you kicked him away from you.
The little caped rat was launched back, skidding to his knees before getting back into an offensive stance. You scrambled to your feet, taking a defensive position. You grit your teeth and glared at him, prepared.
The fight went on for what felt like hours, especially in a two against one.
You spat on the ground; your muscles ached. You saw the flash of red on the asphalt before the rain washed it away. That distracted you enough for Robin to kick you off the dock into the frigid water below.
The water swamped you all at once. The cold seemed to knock all the warmth from your body. You panicked as you sank further and further down, you were so tired. You just wanted to rest. You kicked and flapped your arms desperately but you didn’t feel in control of them. You couldn’t hold your breath anymore. The darkness pulled your mind further from consciousness and you passed out.
⋆﹥━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━﹤⋆
C’mon, Nightwing.” Robin said to the dark haired man who was staring into the water.
“He’s not coming up.” Nightwing responded.
Robin looked at his brother and raised an eyebrow.
“So?” He asked indifferently.
“He’s in trouble.” Nightwing seemed to have made a decision in that answer.
“What does it—.”
Robin was cut off by Nightwint diving into the water.
“Dammit, Grayson!” Robin yelled after Nightwing.
About a minute later, Nightwing emerged.
“You’re an absolute idiot.” Robin spat at Nightwing, helping him back onto the docks with the young vigilante in his arms.
“He was gunna die.” Nightwing retorted.
“Great.” Robin started sarcastically. “Now, since you’ve saved him, you can drop him here and let the cops deal with him.”
“We’re not doing that, Robin.” Nightwing responded, tiredly.
“I don’t like what you’re suggesting.” Robin growled.
“Suggested? I didn’t even say anything.” Nightwing chuckled some.
“You’re implying we take him back to the cave.”
“He could have answers.”
“He’s a cretin. Not even worth the trouble.” Robin grumbled.
“Always glad to hear your opinions.” Nightwing said sarcastically, already heading back towards the Batcave.
Robin rolled his eyes and reluctantly followed.
⋆﹥━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━﹤⋆
You opened your eyes to blaring lights above you.
‘God, what time is it?’
You rolled over to try and shield your eyes from the light.
‘Lights?’
You rubbed your eyes. You felt no mask. Fear spiked your heart. Memory of the drug pickup and fighting two of Batman’s sidekicks and passing out in the water flooded your brain all at once. You shot up and realized you were in a cell.
‘Oh no no no no no no—‘
You quickly stood up and stumbled. You managed to catch yourself on a glass wall.
“He’s awake, circus clown!“
You looked up to see the Red Hood pushing himself off a wall, looking very tired. Your eyes adjusted to the light as he walked to the front of the cell. No point in hiding your face, they’ve all probably seen it. Nightwing joined him, looking a little too pleased for your liking.
“The man himself gunna show up or did he leave his favorite to do his biding for him?” Red Hood asked. However, there didn’t seem to be much bite behind his words.
“I’ve been here, Red Hood.” Batman himself emerged from the shadows with Robin appearing from behind him like a lost puppy. A very…angry puppy.
Red Hood startled some at the sudden appearance, but recovered quickly. The gun wielding vigilante seemed to curse something at Batman but you couldn’t hear.
“Let’s not delay this anymore.” Batman spoke.
You swallowed. His gaze pierced through chest and saw right through you.
‘Start what?’
“What’s your name?” Batman’s voice was gruff.
“Like hell I’d—“ You started.
“Yo! Red Robin!” Red Hood called to the other other Robin somewhere out of your view.
Your full name, alias, and address was listed within the second. Your heart fell to your stomach and crawled back up again. Nausea punched your gut.
“Tell us all you know about the drugs and the ring relating to them.” Batman’s tone wasn’t aggressive, but you weren’t fooled. This was a command.
“Dunno anything…” You slurred out. Christ, you hurt everywhere.
“I don’t believe you.” He responded.
You rolled your eyes. Sure, you were lying but you just wanted to go home. To nap. Oh my god a nap sounded great right now.
“They call it amethyst. It’s a narcotic. It’s new but sweeping the streets fast. That’s all I know.” You grit out.
“Where are your parents, kid?” Batman asked.
“Don’t you know, since you apparently know everything?” You growled at him.
“I do. I just want confirmation from you.” He responded calmly.
“Six feet under at Gotham Cemetery. You can take up my behavioral issues with them. I’m sure they’d be overjoyed to hear about them.” You told him sarcastically.
Batman was quiet, thinking. Robin suddenly seemed to catch onto something.
“No! No! You’re not going to—!” He yelled.
Batman approached the cell and slipped off his cowl. Your eyes widened. You tried to speak but you couldn’t.
“You’re too young to be on your own. You’re younger than my second youngest. How’d you like to live with me and my family?”
You shook your head from you stunned state.
“What!” You gaped.
“No!“
“No!
Both you and Robin exclaimed in unison. Batman—who was apparently Bruce Wayne, by the way—smiled some.
“Seems it’s that or foster care.” He said, seeming to not even consider the possibility of putting you in foster care.
“You’ll fit right in.” Bruce Wayne seemed to find it amusing.
He typed a code into the keypad and the door opened. You blinked and stepped out hesitantly. The other three sidekicks were watching you. One with muted excitement, one with indifference, and one with outrage.
“I’ll get Alfred to set up a room for you. I’m sure you’re tired.” Bruce Wayne said.
Your head was still reeling. Sleep? That sounded more excellent than anything else you could be offered. You sighed. You shouldn’t start composing yet. You just got unofficially adopted by the richest man in the city. Things could be worse, right?

Jason todd x teen reader
~ You’re the product of a former one-night stand Jason had as a teenager.
~ Jason didn't know he had a kid until he got a call from bruce saying, Commissioner Gordon need him down at the station. He didn't know what he was expecting but having a kid, wasn't it. He was informed that your mother had passed and you would now be put in his care.
~ Jason had no clue how to take care of a kid so the first place you went after being released into his custody was Wayne Manor. You were greeted with a warm welcome by both Alfred and Bruce. You roamed around the house as Jason, Alfred, and Bruce were talking when you ran into Tim.
~ Tim was already sleep-deprived running on 1 hour of sleep and 4 cups of coffee was oh so very confused hearing that JASON TODD had a daughter. I mean how could this be he’s never heard of you. Eventually, you got tired of him asking the same question trying to comprehend what he heard, and walked off. Where you ran into Dick.
~ Who was also confused but slightly less. You explained the situation once again. He tried comforting you with the loss of your mother knowing what it's like but you brushed it off. He offered to take you to the kitchen to get food which you didn't decline. neither would I. You guys make random small talk until Jason's voice could be heard echoing through the manor yelling your name you follow the noise meeting him. “There you are come on where leaving,” he said in an uncertain gentle but stern voice.
~ He took you shopping to get all the necessary things. yes, he used bruce's card but in his defense, he gave it to him to use on you. He took you to get new clothes, shoes, a phone, and anything you asked for.
~ He struggles with discipline because you obviously just met him and he doesn't want to seem like the asshole. That is until you put yourself in a dangerous position like drinking, or smoking at a party. You guys have a nice heart-to-heart convo and told you if your gonna do stuff like that at least do it when he is there cuz it's better to have supervision and guidance than be on your own.
~ You guys definitely develop one of those close father-daughter relationships. You can talk to each other about anything where you’re looking for advice or someone to listen to.
~ Your fav uncle is Dick and ur fav aunt is Kate there just superior. don't attack me love all the bat fam.
~ Like I said earlier he is kinda lenient you can curse around him and at other people just not him, you can have a S/O but don't think for one moment the entire bat fam won't interrogate them before and pray for them if they break your heart

Tumblr media
I’m not an idiot
Gotham City,  New Jersey. USA
Robin watched as a plane landed at the Gotham International  Airport or the GIA. According to his father’s research, a gang leader who went by the name of King of Spades would be coming home to America from the United Kingdom, where he robbed a series of banks. He caused quite a stir for Batman’s allies in the UK, and the whole team was eager to end his criminal career, along with his gang members.
“Batman, I see the target,” Robin stated, pressing down on the earpiece he wore so those on the comlink could hear him.
“Great job, Robin,” Batman replied. “Now get to the next zone, Red Robin and Nightwing are in the building to monitor the target. Do not engage. We are to follow him to the hideout of the Royal Flush Gang.”
The boy in red and green sighed. “I know, Batman, I’m not an idiot.”
“I was simply reminding you,” Batman pointed out. “There is a break-in at a local retail store, Spoiler and I will handle it,” The man announced before cutting off the conversation.
“You know what would be useful right now?” A voice came through on the intercom.
“What, Nightwing?”  Robin asked.
“Oo! Let me guess,” yet another voice exclaimed. “Miss Martian’s mental link?”
“Ding ding ding,” Nightwing replied. “Red Robin is our winner.” Then the man sighed, “I’m missing my old team. Missions like this always remind me of them.”
“Sorry we’re not good enough for you, Grayson,” Robin spat.
“Boys, focus,” Batman’s voice came through on the earpiece. “And no real names, you all know this.”
Robin tutted in frustration. “Yes sir.”
“I can feel your anger from here, Robin,” Nightwing stated, there was a shutter in his voice before he let out a dry laugh. “Shit, I see our target. He is making his way to the far east exit.”
“On it,” Red Robin replied. “I have eyes on him, is Batgirl and Red Hood ready?”
“They are,” Batman answered. “Robin, can you tag his car?”
“That’s easy,” Robin stated. “I was trained since a child for missions much more strenuous than this.”
“Strenuous?” Nightwing asked.
“It’s a synonym for hard,” the younger chuckled. “It’s a bit disappointing you don’t know the word.”
“Ouch, how does that burn feel, Nightwing,” Red Robin chimed with a chuckle.
“I know what strenuous means, I’ m just surprised you know,” Nightwing sighed with defeat.
“I’m not an idiot.”
“I never said you were!”
“I’m heading to the car now,” Robin growled before switching off his Bluetooth device and storming out of the area.
On the other side of the airport, Jade Knutsvig was just stepping off the warm plane and into the humid building full of bodies pushing and pulling to board their flights on time. Her eyes widened as she assessed the large building. In all her years she had never been in an airport as large as GIA. Other than the Mall of America, she had never been in a place this large. She had barely traveled outside of her home state. It was completely foreign to the girl.
After the first wave of shock passed, she found herself sitting on a bench, taking in the glass walls that allowed the pale orange light of the setting sun into the structure. It reminded her of tree sap, and she pulled a piece of crystallized amber from her carry-on. Amber could absorb negative energy, and ever since she was a young girl she was able to rely on the smooth stone to ease her anxieties.
Jade whispered a small prayer to herself. It wasn’t to any god, but it was a cry for the universe to help guide her through the maze of the airport. After a few deep breaths, Jade pulled out her phone to message her sister. As the device turned on she could see the shadow of a man looming over her. Without looking at him she could already feel an untrustworthy energy radiating from his aura.
“Are you lost?” The man questioned. “Where is your mom?”
“I’m by myself,” She swiftly answered. The girl was unfamiliar with the hostilities of larger communities. Jade grew up in the comfort of small towns where everyone knew their neighbors and had their noses in one another's business. Her eyes glanced up at the man, and once she made eye contact with him her stomach dropped.
“My name is Bruce Wayne. You might not know of me, but I’m a bit of a celebrity around here. I saw you got off a fight from Minneapolis. Are you from there?”
“No,” Jade whispered. Where is Eliza she found herself thinking. She flies me all the way out to Gotham only to abandon me in an airport!
Being stuck in her thoughts, Jade missed the moment that the man before her reached for her right forearm. His large hand grasped her body, and a rough pull brought her to her feet.
“Woah, dude,” She exclaimed, trying to tug away from him. Her attempt to escape his friends was useless and it only made him hold tighter. “You don’t know what you’re doing! My sister is waiting for me, she will know I’m missing.”
Pleading wasn’t helping Jade’s case, and the man began to lead Jade into the crowd of the airport. Her bag was left behind on the bench, along with her phone. Panic began to set in. This was nothing like home.
“Help!” Jade screamed, “Help me! Someone!”
The man began to dig his nails into her skin, “shut up,” he growled. He then turned to the crowd the circled them. “Sorry, my daughter is just throwing a fit.”
“Help! Please. I don’t know this man!” The young woman began to recall what her older sister taught her many years ago. “Please! This isn’t my dad!”
“Barbra?” A voice sounded from the crowd, and a man with bright blue eyes and dark hair stepped out. “I’ve been looking everywhere for you.”
Another stranger? Why couldn’t her sister be here to grab her? Yet, this guy seemed a lot better than the man who has dragged her across the airport. “Uh- Hi,” Jade said awkwardly. “I don’t know this man. I think he’s trying to kidnap me.”
The assailant let go of the teen and began to push his way through the crowd. The man who referee to her as Barbara stepped closer. “Hey, let me help you.”
“I’m okay,” Jade snapped. She was anxious, homesick, and had her life flash before her eyes. Overthinking took over her, and her brain visualized each situation that could have come to her if the man hadn’t saved her.
“It's no bother,” The man stated.
“I thank you for your help,” Jade huffed, checking her pockets for anything she might have. The girl found nothing but wanted to gift the man something. She closed her eyes while her right hand was shoved in her hoodie pocket and created a shard of jade stone. She presented it to him, flat in her palm. “Here, a token of my appreciation.”
The man accepted it and opened his mouth as if he was going to comment on it. Before he could another man, closer to Jade’s sister’s age, stood next to him. “Hey, I know you’re trying to play hero but she’s safe. We have things to do.”
The man who saved Jade nodded. “Thank you,” He stated, shaking the piece of jade that was in his hands to signify his gratitude. Jade simply nodded before she ran back to her stuff, surprised to see it had not been stolen by a thief.
The moment she found her phone she called her sister. Her heart was still racing, and then a mix of fear and adrenaline made her legs weak. “Where are you?” Her voice was a whisper, and the moment Eliza replied with: “I’m at the gate c-19. Is that not yours?”
“No,” The girl said, but as the syllables left her mouth so did a sob of fear.
“Hey, what’s wrong? Where are you? I’ll be there as fast as I can.”
“I’m at “ Jade choked down another sob. “I’m at gate C-13. I wanna go home,” The girl cried, trying to hide in her hoodie. “Eliza, a man grabbed me.”
“Oh my god,” Eliza gasped. In the background of the call, Jade could hear Eliza’s pace go from a brisk walk to a run. “I see you,” She replied quickly.
Jade looked around before her eyes met Eliza’s. She felt a wave of warmth wash over her. It wasn’t natural, it was Eliza’s power soothing her. The two finally met, and Jade didn’t have time to hang up the call before Eliza’s arms were around her, her body heat matching the temperature of warmth that was soothed Jade meer seconds before. “I’m so sorry. I’m so sorry,” Eliza repeated.
After the two calmed down, filed a police report with airport security and Gotham PD, and retrieved Jade’s bags, the two began their car ride to their home. Jade fell asleep in traffic, and Eliza pondered if the man trying to kidnap her sister was an omen to get her sister out of Gotham already.

Little Flinches
Warnings: mentions of abuse (not really described), implied violence, weapons (not used), let me know if I missed any :)
Pairings: Damian Wayne x best friend reader, Batfamily x teen reader
Request: I was hoping to request a batfam x teen! Abused! Reader. Quik note; I understand if u are not comfortable with writing this since it contains mentions of abuse. You are a student at gotham high and you are also close friends with Damian Wayne. You and Damian have been friends for about 2-3 years now, and you both tell each other everything you even know about his family being vigilantes. His family has met you before, and they absolutely adore you. Yeah, remember when I told you that you told each other everything? Yeah, I lied. I lied because you've never told him about how your family abuses you at your home, but hehas always been skeptical about it. You always left tiny little "hints" without noticing. These "hints" usually consisted of flinching when he reached out to you or when he raised him voice- even if it wasn't directed to you. That's not to mention the fact that you never let him or anyone else hang out at your house, it was always his. One day, he found out when you came to school with a bruse, you had come with some before but you always claimed to have fallen, and although you where clumsy it becomes odd after coming to school with a bruse every day. Today he decided to put his theory to the test and ask tou what was wrong, as always tou answered with "nothing really, I just fell aga-", you didn't get to finish your sentence since you where quickly interrupted by Damian, "I know youre lying." He said in an angered voice, causing you to flinch, you just hoped he didn't notice, but ofc he did. After talking about it, you finally cracked and told Jim all about your family to your restless nights…Yeah, that's basically it, you can decide the ending (I just wanted do know how they'd all react, especially famian lol)

“We are having a movie night.” Damain announced, appearing next to you without a sound in a way he often did.
Slightly startled, you jumped before looking over at him, continuing to grab some books out of your locker as if nothing happened, “Tonight?” You asked, trying to keep your voice as smooth as possible.
He nodded his head, eyes narrowing at you a little bit, but deciding to let it slide, “Grayson keeps insisting that it should be tradition to have one every Friday night. So I decided to have you come instead of dealing with those imbeciles alone.”
“What about patrol?” You asked quietly so that people around you couldn’t hear.
He shrugged, “We will simply go later.”
You closed your locker and leaned against the door, quirking an eyebrow, “And what if I have plans?” You teased playfully.
A scoff escaped from his lips as he rolled his eyes, “You never have plans.”
It was your turn to roll your eyes in response, and as you opened up your mouth to rebuttal, the warning bell rang through the hall.
You flinched a little bit at the sudden sound, face turning red at Damian’s piercing stare, knowing that he had noticed.
“I’ll be there.” You quickly rushed out, not even looking at him as you turned on your heel and scurried down the hall to class.
His eyes narrowed at your retreating back.
-•-
You reached out and rang the doorbell, leaning back on your heels as you waited from someone to get the door.
After being friends with Damian for about three years, you eventually got used to his lavish home and lifestyle, even if it took about two years of friendship.
When you first met in class, you both hit it off right away, becoming thick as thieves and being attached to one another’s hips.
It was quickly discovered by your peers and teachers at school that the two of you were inseparable, knowing everything about one another, and practically being able to read each others minds.
But what they didn’t see- what you prayed Damian didn’t know-was that you were hiding a secret from him. A big secret.
You knew it wasn’t fair, you knew that he had told you him and his family's biggest secret, about their nightlife, and that yours wasn’t nearly as special, but you could just never bring yourself to open your mouth, get over yourself, and tell him.
Not even a moment later, the door was thrown open by a grinning Dick who was bouncing on his toes up and down with much more enthusiasm than you could have imagined.
“Hey! Hi! Hello! Welcome!” He greeted quickly, ushering you inside.
A small giggle left your lips as you entered, practically having to sprint to keep up after Dick as he sped through the house and to where you knew the movie room was.
When you got there, everyone was already spread out throughout the multiple pieces of furniture.
Jason was laying on his back, limbs going every which way, taking up an entire couch. Tim was sitting calmly in a bean bag chair, looking as if he were going to fall asleep at any given moment. And Damian sat, perched on another couch.
All of them perked up as you entered, greeting you with smiles.
You settled into the seat beside your best friend, falling into a conversation with everyone with ease.
“Next time, we have to do this at your house.” Tim joked, no longer looking as tired as he grinned over at you.
You smiled tightly, not responding.
The only reason you had been able to make it tonight was because your parents were out with some of their friends, most likely not to be returning until the early hours of the morning, so you had left without telling them. It was better that way.
You felt Damian’s eyes flicker over to you, and you could practically feel his eyebrows furrow slightly in confusion- even without looking at him.
But you paid him no mind as you changed the subject before he could open his mouth to question your sudden strange behavior, “So, what movie are we watching?”
That sparked an argument to form between all of the siblings, including Damian, which allowed you to sag back against the cushions in relief.
When they had finally come to a reluctant agreement amongst themselves and started the movie, a half hour had already passed and everyone had worn themselves out.
Doing what you always would, you gently snuggled against your best friend's side, being careful not to move the wrong way, and resting your head on his shoulder as he draped a blanket over both of your forms.
None of his siblings commented, used to it by now.
You had always been a physical touch person with those you were close to- hugs, holding hands, on the cheek kisses- anything so that they knew in a different way that you cared about them.
Damian, on the other hand, hated physical touch. The very thought used to repulse him.
But once he came to realize that it was how you would often express your feelings and that it’s what made you comfortable, he quickly grew used to- even welcoming- it.
Partway through the movie, a loud sound was released from the speakers, causing you to bolt in an upright position, practically floating down the rest of the couch, as far from him as possible.
His head turned to you in surprise, slightly wide eyes taking in your panting and shaking form.
It took you a second to realize where you were, that you were safe, that you could stop panicking and quivering like a leaf. And when you did, a new panic set in, because Damian had just witnessed you freak out over nothing.
You chuckled nervously, awkwardly sliding across the couch to get back to him. You were grateful that you both were behind all the others, so none of them even looked away from the screen at your reaction.
“Sorry,” You fake-giggled again, “That scared me.” It wasn’t a lie, but it also wasn’t as extreme as the truth was.
He didn’t say anything, just continued to stare at you, so you hesitated before carefully resting your head against the soft fabric of his shirt once more.
You allowed your eyes to drift back to the screen, not actually comprehending any of it, and being extra careful to keep your flinches to a minimum whenever any loud noises would happen.
Damian kept silent the whole time, eyes trained on the side of your head as they searched. For what, you didn’t know.
When the credits finally began rolling everyone slowly stood up, stretching their limbs out, except for Tim, whose head was facing the ceiling with his eyes closed and mouth slightly open.
“Thanks for having me, guys.” You whispered, careful not to wake up the sleeping boy, and giggled quietly, “Let him have the night off of patrol at least.” You teased.
Jason scoffed and rolled his eyes playfully, “Never.” He grinned.
Out of the corner of your eye, you saw something moving towards you. Not being able to comprehend that it was just Dick going towards you for a hug, you flinched back, stumbling a couple of steps.
“Huh? What happened?” Tim’s voice rang out, successfully saving the day, because his older brother looked towards him just in time so that he didn’t see your reaction.
You were so relieved that you hadn’t even realized your best friend was the only one who didn’t look away from you.
With that, you slipped out of the room, Damian’s piercing stare not leaving you until you were out of sight.
-•-
A broken sigh left your lips as you stared down at your shoes you were shuffling across the pavement, a sense of dread settling into your stomach.
A dark bruise was shining over your right eye like a medal you were ashamed to have won. The other eye had circles under it of the same color.
Of course, the one day it got really bad was the one that you ran out of makeup to cover it up. And normally, you would just skip school or show up late in a situation like that, but your record couldn’t afford anymore of those. Because if you did either of those things again, the principal promised to call your parents in for a conference. That was the absolute last thing that could happen, you would not allow it.
Thankfully, Damian was nowhere in sight as you scurried down the halls to get to class as fast as you could.
What you didn’t realize was that he turned the corner just in time to see a flash of your face as you ducked into the classroom.
He frowned and turned on his heel, pulling his phone out of his pocket and walking in the opposite direction of where he was supposed to be going, dialing a number he knew by heart.
“Grayson,” He spoke, “I need a favor.”
-•-
“Miss. L/n,” Your teacher's voice pulled you out of your thoughts, causing your head to snap up in her direction.
She, nor anybody, had questioned the shiner you were sporting on your face, not caring enough to waste energy asking.
“You’re needed in the office.” She continued, already focusing her attention on other things.
Everyone’s eyes snapped in your direction as you stood and slung your backpack over you shoulder, scurrying out of the room as fast as you could.
It wasn’t that you weren’t used to the staring, you were- that came with being best friends with a billionaire's son- but after what had happened last night, you were feeling more self conscious than normal.
As you trekked down the halls, thoughts of dread filled your minds. All the what-if’s of what they could possibly want you to leave in the middle of class for.
But as you opened the door, every scenario you had thought up flew far from your mind when you were greeted with the sight of Damian and his brothers all standing tensely around the room, your principal nowhere in sight.
You blinked once in surprise, “What-“
“Oh my god,” Dick bawled, rushing over to you with his hands up as if to take your face between them and magically take the pain away.
You flinched away from his hand, though, and he came to a skidding halt, eyes widening even more as tears filled them.
Jason pushed himself away from the wall he was leaning on, a deep frown etched onto his features, “You were right, Dami.”
If you hadn’t already been alarmed, this set off even more warning bells. Jason never called Damian by his real name, it was always some nickname.
Tim sighed, dropping his head into his hands from where he sat on a couch to the side of the room.
Your eyes finally locked with Damian’s, who wore an unreadable expression that you hadn’t seen since you had first met and he still wasn’t fully comfortable around you.
“What’s going on?” You asked nervously.
“Grayson called in a favor to get you out of class for a little while.” The black haired boy spoke emotionlessly, knowing very well that it wasn’t what you were talking about.
It was silent for a few minutes as all the boys watched you fidget, varying forms of sadness and anger in their expressions.
“What happened to your face, Y/n?” Damian finally spoke up sternly.
You let out a nervous laugh, answering automatically on habit, “Oh, you know me, I just walked into a wall again-“
He didn’t even let you finish your sentence as he cut you off, “I know you’re lying.” His mouth was set in a thin line as his eyes narrowed in your direction.
You faltered, the reality of the situation suddenly hitting you like a speed train. He knew, he knew, he knew, he knew-
“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Your tear-filled eyes and broken whisper said otherwise.
Jason’s fist was clenched at his side as he looked anywhere but you, afraid of scaring you even more than you were. Dick was sobbing silently in the corner while Tim just looked upon you with sad eyes.
Damian was the worst though. His cold mask had slipped down to show how truly broken he looked, “I know you’re being hit.”
That was the moment everything became too much for you, and you fell to the ground with a sob, stuffing your face into your hands, unaware of the door being softly closed by Jason behind you.
Damian didn’t hesitate to drop down on his knees in front of you, being sure to keep some space in case the close proximity would accidentally trigger you somehow.
“I-I didn’t mean-“ You choked out, unable to fully speak between your sobs.
“Can I hug you?” He asked hesitantly, eyes searching your face for any signs that he said couldn’t.
All that you could do was give him a shaky nod, unable to form anymore words.
Not a single second was wasted before he scooped you up carefully into his arms, holding onto you as if you weren’t the only one who needed it, but as if he did too.
He began rubbing soothing circles in your back as he shushed you softly, using his other hand to run through your hair.
“Who?” He asked quietly, grip tightening on you ever so slightly, “Who did this to you?”
It took you another moment before you could finally spit out the two words that sent everyone’s stomachs plummeting to the ground, “My… parents.”
Over your shoulder, Damian was quick to make eye contact with Jason, giving him one firm nod that told the man everything he needed to know.
He ushered his other brothers out of the room, already having gone over with the youngest what he was to do when you told them who was abusing you.
The door was once again clicked shut softly behind them, and your best friend continued to hold you until you could finally speak once more.
“It-it started a while ago,” You admitted, tears having slowed as you sniffed, “It was just a slap or two at first, but it progressively got worse.” A shudder ran through your body.
“It’s okay,” Damian whispered, planting a kiss on the side of your head, “You’re okay now.”
You let out another sob before you continued, “And they weren’t supposed to be home last night, but they had gotten back early and saw that I wasn’t home without asking them permission to leave…they weren’t happy when I got back.”
With that, you buried your face into back his shirt and gripped onto the fabric like a lifeline.
“I’ve got you,” He whispered, mentally kicking himself over and over again for not recognizing the signs sooner.
You lifted your head and looked at him with a tear soaked face, “I’m sorry for not telling you. And I know you go through so much worse every single night and it makes me feel so stupid that I couldn’t even handle this-“
He quickly pulled you back into his hold, effectively cutting you off, “Shh, don’t apologize. You have no reason to. Those sorry excuses of parents are the only ones who need to.” He reassured you, “I chose to do that voluntarily, you don’t. There’s a huge difference.”
You sniffled, pulling back once again to look at him, “What’s going to happen now?”
He reached up and gently wiped away your tears with his sleeve, “Don’t worry about that, the others are taking care of it.”
-•-
Jason finished pulling his mask over his head and turned to his two brothers, “Are you ready?”
They both gave him firm nods, gripping onto their weapons tightly, lips pulled into thin lines.
The three of them were going to pay your parents a visit as Gotham cities vigilantes and give them the scare of a lifetime before reporting them to the police and making sure that they go away for a long, long time.
“Let’s go then,” He practically growled, turning around and banging on your parents front door.

Can you do a teen reader (younger than Damian by 1 or 2 years) x batfam, where he is spider man? (I mean kinda like miles morales, he has electricity powers but his webs are organic too and doesn’t need a web shooters.) he is Bruce’s biological child and his mother died, yk his canon event and what not. So he has to move to Gotham and isn’t happy about. Just distant and all. One night He sneaked out and bought a train ticket and went to New York, and was only spider man and just slept in somewhere. So the batfamily tracked him to New York, and while looking for him, they bump into him as spider man. They have to team up to find a villian but reafer gets hurt in the end and his mask fell off and they see it’s reader? They bring him and just have a talk when he wakes up and they come to conclusion for him to join the family in their fighting in Gotham?
Oh, that sounds good. Yes... Also, 2.7k words and so sorry for taking so long to write this... Hope you enjoy. I changed it a little bit, so my apologies, but I got into my writing spirit lol.
Summary: (Y/N) is Spiderman. The fam doesn't know that.
Warnings: (Y/N)'s mom passes away, funeral, sad (Y/N), he loves his city, angst, running away, fighting with Green Goblin.
Tumblr media
(Y/N) had a great life in New York. He was very happy in his city. He lived with his mom and everything was fine. Okay, he did get bitten by a radioactive spider and got cool powers with it. Did it cause some troubles? Oh yeah. Electricity was a bit problematic to control, but he managed.
Did he get grounded because of it? His mom sure thought so. His dad visited with the rest of his brothers every month. (Y/N) understood why he couldn't come more. Being a CEO and all that stuff, (Y/N) really understood. He didn't love Bruce any less. Bruce was involved in his life, which was nice.
He loved his brothers and father, more than anything in this world. Alfred was the best though. Whenever he came, he would bring his food and (Y/N) and his mom would enjoy it too, often asking for recipes. Or they would exchange recipes.
All of those were very fun times. And his time as Spiderman. He really loved it. He loved patrolling and helping the people and maybe get a hot dog from the stands that worked through the night. He loved it all. It was nice that his webs were natural and they, like mentioned before, they also came with electricity.
His enemies hated him, but (Y/N) loved being Spiderman. He loved what he represented in New York and he wouldn't change it for anything in the world. He is a New Yorker through and through.
But life decided to be a bitch and strike that luck and happiness.
(Y/N)'s mom passed away. She was hit by a drunk driver. The worst thing is, the driver survived. When Bruce got the news, he got into the car and drove to New York. (Y/N) was told just before Bruce came and (Y/N) felt his soul shatter.
He broke down in Bruce's arms, crying and screaming. It took him a while to calm down, but he couldn't stay alone. Bruce knew that and he knew that going back to Gotham was not an option now. At all. Bruce called Alfred and explained everything and told him that he would stay to arrange the funeral.
Alfred understood and the brother called (Y/N), wishing that they could be there. (Y/N) thanked them for it and then sat up all night, unable to sleep. Bruce tried to comfort him in the best way possible, but it was difficult. Bruce's former fling, (Y/N)'s mom, was the most important person to (Y/N). Without a doubt.
Bruce knew that he would have to bury her in New York, otherwise his son would have raised hell. Without a doubt. After funeral, (Y/N) would have to move to Gotham. Which is another problem on its own. Bruce didn't know that (Y/N) was Spiderman and (Y/N) didn't know that Bruce was Batman.
Match made in hell, so to say.
The funeral was held a few days after the incident and (Y/N) thought that New York cried with him. The sky was dark and the rain was falling. (Y/N) was torn. There were way to many people who were saying sorry and while he appreciated the care and worry, he just wanted to say goodbye on his own.
His brothers have stood it with him. (Y/N) didn't even have the courage to be next to the grave, while they lowered it, but Bruce held him hand through it, keeping him close to him during the entire process.
At the end, he found some strength and came closer, allowing the rain to soak him. It felt appropriate. When she was lowered, (Y/N) threw a rose in there and wiped his eyes. He took a deep breath as they started putting dirt over her coffin and (Y/N) never felt so mad. Why did this happen to him? To him out of all people?!
Bruce recognized that look in (Y/N)'s eyes. He knew that rage, sadness and frustration in his eyes. It was going to be difficult to let go and have a new life in Gotham. But (Y/N) had to try. He had to put some effort.
" (Y/N), we have to go. " Bruce said gently as he shielded his son from the rain with an umbrella. (Y/N) kept looking as the coffin got buried under the dirt. He swallowed before nodding and following Bruce to the car.
" Why do I have to go to Gotham? " (Y/N) asked and Bruce sighed as he started driving.
" We have been over this. I have a company there and your brothers are there. I know you don't want to leave, I know that, but you have no choice. " Bruce explained as he drove and (Y/N) turned away from him, biting down on his tongue so that he wouldn't lash out against Bruce.
" I know you are not happy, but you will be happy in Gotham. "
" Sure. In a city ran by a clown and a bat. Sounds like heaven. " (Y/N) said sarcastically.
" It's actually a nice city once you live in it long enough. "
(Y/N) huffed, but kept his mouth shut. He didn't want to lash out at his father, he really didn't. His dad was doing something he needed and Bruce wasn't at fault.
It was the driver's fault.
But he was pissed and he just wanted to be alone. Bruce saw it and didn't say anything, driving back to Gotham. It was the most awkward drive Bruce has ever done in his life. The hour was quiet and once they parked in the yard of the manor, (Y/N) took a bag with his personal stuff, his Spiderman suit included, and made a beeline for his room.
He ran past everybody and they all looked at him with sad looks.
" Do you think he will be better soon? " Dick asked, glancing at Bruce.
" I don't know Dick. He is sensitive and he will need some time to process it. I don't think I can even introduce him to our line of work. He found justice, they got the driver. " Bruce said as he rubbed his chin and the boys had to agree to a certain agree.
" He just needs some time. The first few days are the toughest. He will get better as times passes. " Alfred said as he took one of the boxes out.
Those few days have passed and (Y/N) didn't really feel good. He didn't like the fact he is starting a new school year here, without his friends and a sense of familiarity. He would have to start a new, without... He cried a lot during the time and he just wore black. Alfred had to make sure he ate and Bruce was there to comfort him and make sure he is okay.
Another thing that was painful, alongside his mother's death was the fact that he couldn't be Spiderman. He couldn't go out, he couldn't save his fellow New Yorkers or chat with them. He saw the news talking about his absence and he wanted nothing more than to go back to New York.
Nothing more.
But... There is a problem called big brothers plus a dad.
They were always around, watching him. Always popping in his room to make sure he is okay and not hungry, knowing that eating wasn't easy. Everyone popped in to make sure he is okay. (Y/N) was sure they thought he would hurt himself somehow, but he wasn't doing that.
He would often sit down in his room, when he knew that his family was on patrol, he would take his suit out. He would watch the spider symbol, wishing he could be back in New York. Gotham was nothing compared to New York. New York was much better, still is better than this city. New York is alive, vibrant, full of colors.
And then you have Gotham.
But (Y/N) has had enough after 2 weeks. With a little bit sneaking around, he managed to buy a ticket, his suit underneath the normal clothes he was wearing. While his family was on patrol, he sneaked out and made his way to the station to leave. He was happy, but it was bitter sweet. It would remind him of the things he loved and yet... It would remind him of his mother.
He had actually had some money left for a few flowers to lay on her grave... (Y/N) put his head on the window, watching the scenery change. Left his phone at home so that they couldn't track him, so he spent his time looking out the window and stretching.
After a few hours, (Y/N) has arrived. He smiled as he saw his city. He took a deep breath in and walked around, just remembering the time in his city.
" My apologies New York. " (Y/N) mumbled as he started walking to the cemetery. It would be a long walk, but he had time. He really did. Once he came, the flower shop was open and he has paid with cash, making it difficult to track him. After getting a beautiful bouquet he walked to his mom's grave. He put them down and smiled...
Bittersweet beyond belief.
He kept knelt down on one knee, smiling at the gravestone. He smiled and wiped some of his tears away, not wanting to cry.
" Hey mom. I'm back. Dad wanted me to move, but I think I will stay here. " (Y/N) said as he got up and started walking to his apartment. He missed it, he really did. He could only hope that it's unlocked, but his neighbor had an extra key. He knew it.
And she loved him.
While (Y/N) was happy, the family wasn't really paying attention whether or not (Y/N) was in his room. They were thinking that he has slept. They couldn't have been more wrong about it. (Y/N) already had a whole night ahead of him as an advantage.
Alfred went to check and a few minutes later and he called out for Bruce in a panic. Everyone dropped the cutlery and ran upstairs to see if their butler was safe. Jason and Tim nearly tumbled over one another more than once. Damian jumped in first, ready to fight with the non existent intruder.
They were all shocked to see that there was no intruder. Another problem? There was no (Y/N). Jason checked the bathroom.
" Not in here. " He declared, closing the door.
Bruce wondered what the hell happened. Oh no. Where is he?
" Did anyone see him? " Bruce asked his sons, leaning on the wall.
" No... I thought he was in here. " Tim said as he looked out the window. " Where is he even? " Tim wondered. Bruce pondered for a moment.
" Lets go to the cave and check the cameras. " Bruce said as he pushed himself off of the wall. Everyone followed and soon, they were looking through the cameras.
They all paled when they saw that he went to the city. Bruce pulled all of the cameras he could and thanked God for facial recognition. He pulled it all to find (Y/N).
" Why did he escape? " Dick wondered out aloud. Was it the fact that they were checking on him too much? Was he smothered? Did they smother him?
" Shit. " Jason said next to Bruce as the two watched the screen. Everyone turned their heads to look at the screen. A train station. Bruce connected it.
" He went to New York. " Bruce said as he tracked (Y/N)'s phone.
" What the hell? " Tim wondered out loud.
Everyone frowned when the location turned out to be the manor. Everyone was now worried.
" He has to be in New York. He has to be. " Damian declared and everyone had to agree with it. They knew that (Y/N) coming here wasn't his choice and that he wanted to stay back in New York. Bruce couldn't blame (Y/N) for any of it, nobody could blame (Y/N) for trying to run to New York.
" He has an entire night as an advantage. " Damian said and everyone has agreed with him. That is one hell of an advantage.
" I'm not sure whether or not to be proud. " Bruce said, trying not to smile.
" A mixture of both. He passed the security. " Jason mumbled and Bruce chuckled.
" Yeah, I have to be a mixture of both. Lets do some more investigating and then lets go to New York at night. " Bruce said and everyone nodded.
(Y/N) has had fun during the day, but it seems that Green Goblin wasn't happy with the fact that he was gone out of their city. The fight has been going on for a while and (Y/N) was slowly getting exhausted. Ever so slowly.
(Y/N) knew that he couldn't lose his cool now. That's something that Green Goblin wanted him to do this entire fight. Green Goblin was taunting him and by God, (Y/N) was ready to kill. His wrists were hurting like never before.
He was ready to strike once more when he saw a familiar face. His dad and his brothers. Oh God. Were they all looking for him. They landed near him and (Y/N) swore that his heart was about to jump out of his chest. He really thought so.
" Hey Spidey, you need help? " Dick, well, Nightwing asked and (Y/N) shrugged his shoulders. " Could use some backup. " (Y/N) said, voice breathy.
" Arch nemesis? " Damian, well, Robin asked.
" Yup. "
" Sounds tough. " Dick said and (Y/N) got ready to strike once more. He saw an opening and took it.
(Y/N) was struck and he flew back onto the rooftop and something fell of as he landed. He couldn't pinpoint it, but every part of him screamed that something was wrong. He froze when he saw his father, covering them both with his big cape.
" (Y/N), why didn't you tell us? Is this why you didn't want to leave? " Bruce asked, glancing at his son, trying to see if he was injured.
" I... I didn't know how to... " (Y/N) admitted shyly, looking away from his dad.
" I'm not blaming you. But we have to talk about this later. We can't just leave it like this. Put on your mask and lets finish this. " Bruce said with a firm voice and (Y/N) nodded as he did so and with the help from Bruce, got up.
" Lets get the bastard. " (Y/N) said with so much determination and Bruce smiled proudly. He really is his son with that much determination.
The fight was tiring beyond belief, but the Batfamily was determined and persistent. And Green Goblin wasn't expecting the back up that (Y/N) has gotten out of nowhere. Soon, Green Goblin was taken into custody. Now it was all good. All good.
If you remember that (Y/N)'s family was still there, waiting to talk to him. He didn't really want to talk, he just wanted to avoid it. He didn't want to. By God, he wanted to go to sleep. But he knew that talk would happen eventually.
" Now, " Bruce started as he glanced at everyone. " I'm not mad you, but... You could have told us. We told you. " (Y/N) tried to say something, but Bruce stopped him. " Now, what happened happened. However, you can use your talents back in Gotham. "
(Y/N) shifted on his feet, nervous about it.
" No need to worry (Y/N). " Jason started, hands on his hips. " NYPD is more capable than GCPD. "
Everyone laughed at it. To some extent it's true, but (Y/N) wasn't convinced.
" You don't have to lose your Spider symbol. You can keep being Spiderman. You can be a spider and the rest can be birds. " Bruce said as he put his hand on (Y/N) shoulder.
" It's difficult to leave my city behind. " (Y/N) admitted and Bruce nodded in sympathy. The brothers hugged their brother, hugging him tightly.
They all were saying something, but (Y/N) couldn't understand. But he knew that they were all saying something positive.
" Now, lets go home and get you situated. " Bruce said and (Y/N) just looked at the sun.
" It weird to see you guys in this time of the day. " (Y/N) mumbled as he was led to the Batmobile. Everyone laughed at that. It was true. He really didn't want to leave New York city, but he knew that he could help them in Gotham.
He knew it would work out in the end.

Shattered - Batfamily Imagine
Tumblr media
Warning - Abuse, Abusive Behavior
Requested by Anon -  Can I request a batfamily x reader where reader is very quiet and one day Bruce pushes too hard and reader runs away. Then reader is missing for weeks and they find her badly injured and Bruce is feeling bad
Author’s Note - This took me forever to finish. Also it spiraled into it’s own thing, but hope you enjoy it!
***
You felt your father watch you from across the cave. The punching bag swung back to you. Your fists cracked against the bag, echoing in the silence of the cave. The bats screeched in the distance.
Out of the corner of your eye, Bruce moved toward you. The tension in his shoulders, firmness of his jaw, you knew he was in a bad mood. You sensed it was caused by Damian. Damian and your father hadn’t gotten along well ever since Bane took over the city and Alfred died. Then again, Bruce hadn’t gotten along well with anyone since Alfred died. You swallowed back a lump in your throat. It hurt that you had to force yourself not to tense up when he reached you.
“Too practiced.” Bruce crossed his arms. His cowl was off. You caught the bag when it swung back to you, peeking at him shyly. “A live target won’t wait for you to punch them.” His eyes were ice cold steel. You wondered if your eyes were like that. Dick claimed you had Bruce’s eyes, but you never believed him.
You opened your mouth, but nothing came out. Bruce’s lips formed a hard line. “Sorry,” you whispered finally. Your hand trembled slightly. You shouldn’t be nervous. He won’t hurt you.
“Sorry won’t save your life. Sorry will get you killed.” He turned and walked off to the sparring mat. Your eyes widened, blood draining out of your face. His hand gestured for you to follow.
Your feet moved without you realizing. Suddenly, you were on the mat and facing your father. He took off his cape and tossed it to the sidelines. “Attack,” he ordered. You blinked before running straight toward Bruce.
It occurred to you to surprise him as you flipped forward and sprang up to aim a kick to his jaw. He blocked it, pushing you away. You rolled with the push and landing safely on your feet.
“Predictable.” Bruce threw a punch your way. You barely dodged it. He was so fast. “You need to be unpredictable.”
The sparring session lasted a full hour. You had been thrown to the ground too many times to count. Your body ached, knowing you’ll have bruises the next morning.
Bruce offered his hand. You took it and stood up. “You’ll need more training if you’re going into the field alone.” He glanced at the batcomputer when it beeped with a message. “Shower and get to bed. You have school tomorrow.”
“Yes Dad.” You mumbled, holding his hand a moment longer. He allowed it and you felt comforted by it. You couldn’t remember the last time he hugged you.
Bruce pulled away too quickly for your liking, heading to the batcomputer. He joined a call with Jim Gordon. They were discussing the murder from the night before. Bruce believed it was a serial killer, thus why you weren’t allowed to patrol with him until the killer was off the streets.
You limped toward the showers. Your eyes burned with tears, your heart aching so bad you thought it was ripped from your chest. It confused you.
After your shower, you slowly walked up the stairs. Bruce was still at the batcomputer. You knew better than to bother him.
***
The next night, you sat by the batcomputer and organized files. You were still banned from patrol. The serial killer still on the loose. Your father was getting more and more unbearable. Biting your lip, you wished Alfred was here. He’d know how to get your father to stop and take a rest, but Alfred died a year ago.
A little bit of anger sparked in your heart. Why were you left to deal with your father alone? Why could all the others run off? You cursed your age, wishing you were eighteen or at least well trained enough to join the Teen Titans or something.
However, you took a deep breath, letting the anger go. You learned a long time ago that being angry with your father didn’t do any good. It was almost like he wanted your anger, so you didn’t give it to him.
The file organization was mind numbing. You peeked at your father’s tracker to see him at GCPD. He was probably talking to Commissioner Gordon about the serial killer. You wished you were with him.
Suddenly, the computer beeped that the batcave allowed access to someone. You opened the cameras to see a motorcycle flying down the tunnels. Excited, you got your feet to greet the motorcycle. As it came closer, you recognized the dark blue paint.
“Hey,” Dick greeted, parking his bike a few feet from you. “How you doing, kiddo?”
“I’m okay.” You crossed your arms tightly across your chest. “What are you doing here?”
Dick climbed off his bike. “Just visiting. Is Bruce here?” He came over to you, ruffling your hair.
“No, he’s out.” You bit your lip when he frowned slightly. Dick hummed, resting a hand on your chin to inspect the bruise on your cheekbone. You had washed off the makeup you used to hide it at school. “I’m fine.”
“You sure?” Dick pulled away. He took off his mask, looking you directly with those clear blue eyes. You avoided eye contact.
You didn’t answer, simply turning to point at the tracker on the screen. Dick went over to look. You sighed in slight relief.
“So a serial killer is on the loose huh? I saw it on the news, decided I should stop by,” Dick said, studying the screen to see all the files you were organizing.
You swallowed hard and took your seat back by the computer to continue your work. Dick watched you for a bit. “I don’t know when he’ll come home. You should probably go meet him,” you said after you heard Dick sigh.
Dick leaned against your chair, resting his arm on the headrest. “I was going to borrow some surveillance equipment. I want to stake out a few of Blockbuster’s operations.” Dick smirked when you looked up at him. “Wanna tag along?”
Your heart skipped a beat in excitement. It wasn’t until now that you realized how much you missed going out. Two weeks of only the cave and school was restricting. “Dad wouldn’t like it,” you said, biting your lip as you glanced at Batman’s tracker on the computer. He was driving through the city now. You assumed he was going to check out the next crime scene.
Dick followed your gaze to the screen before looking back at you. “Kiddo, we can leave him a note. He won’t be upset if we’re in Bludhaven.” He ruffled your hair. Your lips pulled into a smile.
“Are you sure?” You jumped to your feet.
“I’m sure. Go get your suit on.” Dick tapped your nose, grinning. “Heck, even pack an overnight bag. You can just stay over at my place.” You turned and ran off to gather your stuff.
***
Dick frowned as he watched you hurry away. You were limping. If you had been in the cave for two weeks, where would you have gotten hurt? The limp could have been a sprain, but the bruise on your cheek? Dick shook his head, swallowing hard. “Bruce, what are you doing?” he mumbled, eyeing the tracker.
Dick glanced over his shoulder to make sure you were out of earshot before tapping the comm button. “(Y/N), I don’t have time. If you’re done with the files, go to bed,” Bruce said harshly.
“It’s me, Bruce.” Dick pursed his lips, holding back a scoff. “Is that how you talk to her?”
“I’m in the middle of an investigation. (Y/N) knows not to bother me.” Dick shook his head. “Why are you there?”
“I stopped to borrow a few things and to check in on you and (Y/N).” Dick ran a hand through his hair. “Bruce, I’m taking (Y/N) with me for a few days. This isn’t good.”
Bruce didn’t respond. Dick knew what that silence meant. “Keep her safe,” he finally said softly. A moment of vulnerability.
“Always.” Dick held back the words he wanted to say. “I’ll talk to you in a few days.”
Bruce grunted and shut off the comm. Dick sighed. He would need to talk to the others about this. Dick felt responsible. He should have checked in on you more. He should have taken you with him once he first suspected. Dick swallowed hard as he heard you come up behind him. Forcing a smile on his face, he turned to you.
***
The weekend with Dick was a lot of fun, but you weren’t an idiot and Dick wasn’t that subtle. You knew Dick was concerned about your welfare. He had several calls during the weekend, calls you overheard when he thought you were asleep.
It was a relief to be home. Bruce seemed happy to have you back. Well, as happy as he could get nowadays, which wasn’t much. However, you did receive a shoulder pat before he sent you off to train. You practically melted at the touch.
You were on the balance beam, training in the balanced combat that Dick showed you. Bruce was at the computer, still going over evidence for the serial killer. He still hadn’t caught him. You were greatly concerned by the fact, but stayed quiet.
“I don’t have the time for this,” Bruce said suddenly. You glanced over at him as you practiced landing a kick without losing your balance. Bruce got to his feet. “(Y/N), come here.” You blinked before hopping off the beam and running over. He gestured for you to go to the changing room. You frowned, confused. Bruce growled. “Get ready for patrol,” he said sharply.
“Really?” you asked, voice barely a whisper. He narrowed his eyes at you. “Yes sir.” You swallowed hard and ran to get changed. Bruce was already in his batsuit.
You ran back out a minute later, strapping on your cape. Bruce marched to the batmobile at the sight of you. You jogged behind him. “I need you to stake out the other location.” Bruce hopped into the driver’s side. You got in beside him, holding back a smile at finally being in the batmobile with Bruce again. He drove off at full speed toward Gotham. “I have determined that the killer will strike in one of two locations. He leaves clues, a Riddler copycat.” He glanced at you. The hint of approval appeared in his eyes when he saw you were listening attentively. “He will strike tonight, so I don’t have the time to narrow it down.”
“Yes sir.” You bit your lip to hide a smile. He was treating you like he did Dick or Tim or Damian. An equal. You couldn’t believe it.
“I don’t want you to engage. If you see him, call me and stay in the shadows.” He suddenly stopped the batmobile by an old apartment building deep in the city. “Tracy Apartments. Watch for a man in a blue coat.” The hood opened and you hopped out. “Do not engage.” Bruce narrowed his eyes at you.
“Yes sir.” You nodded before grabbing your grapple gun and flying up to the rooftop. The roar of the batmobile sounded behind you almost like it was lifting you up and away. Landing on the roof safely, you sat on the edge of the roof, determined to do your very best.
***
Nothing happened except a few random people walking home from the bar on the corner. A homeless person entered an alley. You sighed, resting your elbow on your knee and your chin in your hand. Your father hadn’t messaged except to say he arrived at the other location.
The clock tower, only two blocks away, struck two. Your eyes grew heavy. Slowly, you drifted off only to be jerked awake when your elbow relaxed causing your head to fall. Panic filled you as you checked the apartment building. Nothing change. You relaxed, heart pounding away.
Another half an hour passed with you pinching your arm to stay awake. Just when you were about to fall asleep again, the man with the blue coat appeared. You tapped your comm. “Batman, the man is here. He is entering the apartment building.”
“Good. Don’t move until I arrive. ETA five minutes.” Batman’s comm clicked off. You got to your feet, staying in a crouch as the man entered the building. Tapping the side of your mask, you turned on your thermal camera to watch him move through the lobby. Strangely, the man took the stairs.
You traced him through the building, grateful for the building’s thin walls and the man’s gait. He stopped at an apartment on the far end of the third floor. You moved to the other end of the roof to peek in the window. There was two women inside watching TV. Two glasses of wine and bowls of what looked like ice cream sat on the table in front of them.
One of the women stood up and went to the door. A scream came from inside. The other woman on the couch stood up, grabbing the lamp next to her and throwing it at the attacker. You hesitated a moment. Bruce would be very angry. No more patrols for a long time. However, when both women disappeared out of your view, you pushed that out of your mind.
Leaping into the air, you used your grapple gun to accelerate toward their window. Using your feet, you broke through the window, somersaulting into a kick to the man’s face once you were able to pinpoint where he was. The two women cowered in the corner.
The man fell back against the door with a shout. “Stupid kid!” He struggled to his feet. You wondered if that’s why he attacked women. A inferiority complex with a dash of psychopathy. He held a knife up. You smirked at the knife, shaking your head. He came at you, but you dodged it easier and disarmed him. The man screamed as you put him into a hold and knocked him to the floor.
Curses sputtered out of his mouth as you quickly handcuffed his wrists and feet. “Robin.” You looked up in surprise to see Batman at the window. His jaw was a mask of pure fury. You swallowed hard and quickly got to your feet. “Go wait in the car.” He moved toward the man. You hurried to the window. The two women thanked you as you grappled down to the waiting batmobile.
It slid open as you approached and you hopped inside. Snuggling into your seat, you felt sick to your stomach. You knew that look your father gave you. A shiver ran down your spine. It was a look only Damian and Jason got when they disobeyed him.
***
“Disobeying direct orders!” Bruce grabbed one of his spare gloves and threw it across the cave. You flinched at the movement, putting your hands behind your back so he couldn’t see them shake. After changing out of your suit, you were told to stand in the middle of the changing room as your father let loose. “I expected more from you, (Y/N)!”
You opened your mouth, but a glare from him had you closing it again. The cave was colder than normal. You wondered if it was really colder or if it was just you. “I’m sorry, but I needed to step in,” you whispered, unable to speak louder. “He would have killed them.”
Bruce spun to you so fast that you flinched. “He could have killed you!” You looked into Bruce’s eyes, seeing the fear mixed in with his anger. It hurt.  Bruce spun away from you, running a hand through his hair. Curses mumbled from under his breath. You watched him.
It was so tiring, so painful to live here with him. He was hard on you, mean even. You understood he cared about you, but did he love you like a daughter? Or were you just his child soldier? Tears filled your eyes as your heart ached for Alfred. Alfred would make this better, reason with him or at least be a comfort to you. You couldn’t remember him treating any of your brothers this way, but then again, they always had Alfred. You had no one.
“I’m taking you off patrols indefinitely,” Bruce said, his frown deepening when he turned back to see your tears. You quickly wiped your face with your sleeves. “And I think...you should go live with Dick, (Y/N).”
“What?!” You gasped, hands shaking violently. “Why?!”
Bruce took a deep breath. “I’m not...I’m not the man I used to be. You aren’t getting what you need from me.” He crossed his arms. His face was a steel mask. You wondered if he actually cared.
“No.” You shook your head before turning and running out of the room. Bruce was right behind you. Your chest tightened, suddenly you felt trapped. You failed to help him. You failed as a Robin.
“(Y/N)...” Bruce reached out to catch your shoulder, but you shook him off. Each breath hurt. You ran up the stairs of the cave and burst into his study. There was no footsteps behind you. Funny enough that was what hurt most of all.
***
The next morning, Dick ran up the steps of the manor. Bruce left him a message to come collect (Y/N). Is your daughter something to collect? Dick wanted to argue with him, shout at him, but Bruce wouldn’t pick up the phone. He tried calling you, but your phone went straight to voicemail.
Dick turned the knob, eyes widening when it opened. It wasn’t like Bruce to leave the door unlocked. Security risk and all. Dread festered in Dick’s gut. Something was wrong, he could feel it in the air.
“Bruce? (Y/N)?” Dick looked around. The manor looked the same except for the dust and stale air.  He swallowed hard. Alfred would have been so upset seeing the manor this way. The only response he got was silence.
Biting his lip, Dick ran up the stairs toward your room. You were probably packing and couldn’t hear him.
Dick stood outside your door. It didn’t have the drawings and stickers like it used to. He wondered why you took them off. Alfred hated them, but never had the heart to force you to remove them. Dick ran a hand through his hair, knowing he just answered his own question. His heart sank to his feet.
There was a lot Dick regretted. He regretted not being around enough after Alfred passed. Too absorbed in his own grief and his own problems. The others were strong, but you were so young and Bruce was so...Bruce.
“(Y/N)?” He knocked on the door. Silence followed. Dick took a deep breath and tried the doorknob. It turned. Dick’s eyes widened slightly as he peeked inside your room.
Your room was barren. He almost didn’t recognize it. You used to have toys around, pictures, posters, things that made the room yours. He remembered how happy you were when Tim gifted you several posters of your favorite actors and actresses to put up. Those were all gone. Just the bed, dresser, and partly ajar closet.
The bed was neatly made except for the note on the pillow. Dick sighed. He should have came as soon as he got the call the night before. Grabbing the note, he opened it. I’m sorry. Dick blinked, turning the note over to see no other words. “Fuck.” He bit his lip and stormed out of the room.
Bruce’s rooms were as empty as was the kitchen and the study. Dick went to the grandfather clock, turning the hands to 10:27 before sprinting down the stairs.
He saw red when he found Bruce sitting at the batcomputer on a conference call with the Justice League. Bruce had his cowl on, acting like the stoic, coldhearted asshole that he always was.
Dick marched over. “He’ll have to get back to you,” Dick said sharply as he reached over to end the call. The surprise on the League’s members’ faces did nothing for Dick.
“What the hell are you doing?!” Bruce pushed Dick away from the batcomputer. Dick stumbled, catching himself on the edge of the computer.
“Did you even bother to check?” Dick threw the paper in Bruce’s face. Bruce caught it and crumpled it in his hand. “You told your daughter you were sending her away and you didn’t bother to check on her?!” Dick threw his hands in the air. “She’s gone, Bruce! All she left was that note saying she was sorry!” It was selfish, but it felt good to yell at Bruce. Dick only hoped his words sunk in.
Bruce tensed. He took off his cowl, revealing the new lines on his face. A bit more gray in his hair. Dick’s shoulders sank in relief as Bruce smoothed out the note to look at it.
“Damn it.” Bruce set the note on the computer before sinking into his chair like all the bones left his body. Dick’s anger cooled at the sight. The reaction is what he needed to see to know there was hope for Bruce, but a minute passed without Bruce moving.
Dick tapped his foot. “Well, are we going to look for her?!” Dick crossed his arms to stop himself from reaching out to shake Bruce’s shoulders.
“You have custody now.” Bruce turned away, running a hand over his blank expression. “It’s best you handle it.”
Now Dick was a bit of a hothead in his youth. It took him years to cool his anger, but it took that moment alone to strip all those years away. In a blink of an eye, Dick’s fist flew and sucker punched Bruce in the face.
Bruce took the hit, probably because he wasn’t expecting it. In a flash, Bruce was standing, fists flying toward Dick. Dick ducked. “Yeah, that’s right. I can take your hits,” Dick spat. “Is this what you did to (Y/N), Bruce? Swung at her without warning.”
“I never hit her!” Bruce dropped into full Batman mode. Dick dodged, flipping out of the way of every hit, playing the defensive. The reasonable part of Dick knew that he threw the first punch, but Dick at this moment didn’t care.
“Sure you didn’t. Where’d she get those bruises, Bruce? You grounded her from patrol.” Dick didn’t duck fast enough and took a hit to the side of the head. He saw stars, but quickly spun out of the way of Bruce’s right hook.
Suddenly, Bruce grabbed the front of Dick’s shirt and held him very close to his face. “I wouldn’t hurt my kids. We sparred, she didn’t block. I didn’t go easy on her because going easy means death in our line of work. You know that, Dick.” Bruce shoved Dick to the floor. Dick grunted, his back hitting one of the crates.
Bruce turned away, grabbing a taser from one of the tables and threw it across the cave. It shattered with a boom that echoed. Bats screeched. Dick slowly got to his feet. He was going to feel it all later. “So help us look for her. If you love her and care for her like a father should, then you need to help us find her.”
“She doesn’t need me.” Bruce turned to give Dick a pained look. “I make her flinch.”
Dick pursed his lips. He sighed, taking out his phone to message the others to get the search for you started. Most of his anger faded, but his disappointment remained. “Well, we’ll be on the comms. Join us if you want.” Dick turned and started up the stairs of the cave. He stopped after a moment and turned back to Bruce. “You know, if you believe she thinks you don’t love her, then maybe being the one to find her would be enough to prove otherwise.”
Bruce didn’t reply. Dick sighed and turned away, calling Barbara to start the search.
***
You sat down on the sandy beach, dropping your backpack next to you. The sun was warm. You closed your eyes, enjoying it’s shine. The last time you had been to a beach was...you couldn’t remember.
When you slipped out of the manor about an hour after your father told you that you were being sent away, you didn’t know where to go. You didn’t want to go to Dick or the others. They’d say you were a failure. They were all good partners to your father.
You swallowed hard, opening your eyes to watch the families on the beach. Some kids were playing in the water while their parents watched. You wondered what that must be like. Your heart panged.
It wasn’t your plan to come to the beach, which is why you stuck out like a sore thumb wearing jeans and a sweatshirt while everyone else was in bathing suits. All you wanted was to get out of the city and the first bus out of town was to a beach town in North Carolina.
You laid down on the sand, taking a deep breath of the salty air. It was only a matter of time before one of the family found you. You didn’t cover your tracks well, using a credit card to pay for the bus ticket and a snack at the station.
The sand was so soft. You dug your fingers into the sand and let it fall through your fingers.
Footsteps approached you. You tensed, reaching to hug your backpack to your side tightly. A shadow blocked the sun from you. “So you ran away from home to lay on a beach?”
Your eyes flew open to find Jason Todd staring down at you with a smirk. An ‘eep’ escaped you as you scrambled away from him. Jason’s smirk fell into a frown.
“What’s wrong with you, kid? I got Dick telling me that you’re missing.” Jason sat down next to you, keeping his distance though. You forced yourself to relax. “I caught you walking through Gotham on your own while I was heading home from a...meeting.” Jason cleared his throat. “So what’s going on?”
You pulled your knees to your chest, looking out at the ocean. A father held the hand of his young daughter as she walked in the surf. You swallowed hard, trying to remember if your father held your hand like that. Probably not.
“Kinda a long way to follow me, isn’t it?” you whispered. Your throat tightened, taking your voice with it.
Jason shrugged, stretching his legs out in front of him and slipped off his leather jacket to reveal his black t-shirt under it. He looked as out of place on this beach as you did. “Not every day you find your youngest sibling walking around on their own at four AM only to see them go to the bus station and buy a one way ticket.”
You curled tighter into yourself and rested your cheek on your knees to look away from him. Jason, for his credit, waited for you to speak, people watching. He didn’t usually have the patience, which meant he probably already knew about how you failed your father.
“He’s sending me away,” you finally whispered after swallowing past the lump in your throat. Jason studied you, shifting closer to you. Your eyes burned. A tear slipped out your cheek without warning. “He said he wasn’t the man he was and he can’t love me anymore.”
Jason was quiet. You sneaked a peek at him only to see his mouth a firm line. His eye twitched, barely concealing rage. “He told you that?”
“Basically. I could see it in his eyes.” It felt like you opened the flood gate and it all spilled out. “He hasn’t been the same since Alfred died. I try to do my best, but he never finds anything I do good enough. He hits hard when we train and doesn’t seem to care if I can’t dodged his attacks or not. We never stop to rest until he’s done.” You wiped your cheeks with the back of your hand. Your eyes stayed on the sand in front of you. Jason probably thought you were weak. “Then last night, he let me on patrol for the first time in weeks only to yell at me and send me to live with Dick because I disobeyed his orders.”
You looked up at Jason fast, worried he would yell too. “People were in danger, I had to go in. It could have been too late for them.” However, Jason’s eyes shined with emotion. You knew it might not be anger, but that’s what your mind only saw. “I’m sorry. Don’t yell at me.” You covered your ears and rocked yourself back and forth. More tears slid down your cheeks as you mumbled sorry over and over again.
Jason sighed before you felt a heavy arm fall around your shoulders. He pulled you into his side. The touch surprised you. You melted into him, filling a hole you didn’t realize you had in your heart.
“You did nothing wrong, nothing to be sorry about,” Jason mumbled, resting his chin on the top of your head. His hand rubbed your arm. “You’re okay.”
It felt so good to be held. You didn’t realize how much you missed it until now. A sob slipped out of you as you buried your face into his chest. Jason hummed and wrapped his other arm around you.
Jason’s heartbeat was soothing in your ear, better than the ocean only a few meters away. “Is she okay?” A stranger asked Jason.
“She is now. Thank you,” Jason said to them. He tightened his arms around you. His lips pressed against the top of your head. “I love ya, kid. Even when you threw up on me when you were a baby.”
You laughed softly, hiccupping. “Jay, you never knew me as a baby. I was three when you came to live with us.”
Jason chuckled. “I think you don’t remember.” He pulled away to look you in the eye. His smile reached his eyes. “I was spinning you around. You loved it until I went too fast and you just upchucked all over me.”
“No, I didn’t.” You shook your head, wiping away from your tears. Jason’s shirt had a damp spot on it. Your face burned at the sight. Glancing at Jason in worry, he just grinned and brushed some of the sand out of your hair.
“You did. It was terrible. Alfred was so ticked, but I heard him laughing in the next room.” Jason bit his lip, eyes softening. Your heart sank. “So let’s go get something to eat, maybe get a place to stay.” Jason stood up, brushing the sand off his jeans before offering a hand to you.
Sniffling, you took his hand and got to your feet. “Okay.” You grabbed your backpack. Jason snatched up his jacket and wrapped his arm around your shoulders to lead you off the beach and toward the boardwalk.
***
His phone beeped with a text from the family group chat. Dick was asking everyone for an update. Jason stared at the text, watching the others respond. They knew you bought a bus ticket, but weren’t sure what bus you got on. Bruce wasn’t part of the search.
Jason didn’t think he could be this angry at Bruce. At this point, he was back to ‘just back from the dead to find I wasn’t avenged and replaced’ stage. He took a deep breath before texting he didn’t find anything yet.
You sighed in your sleep and rolled over in the hotel bed. Jason looked up from his phone. He was lounging on the armchair in the corner with his booted feet up on the end of the bed. Once you had a full stomach, Jason got the room and you went to bed right away.
Bruce didn’t deserve you. You were so sweet when you were little, back before he died. Besides the vomiting incident at least, but to be honest, Jason always smiled when he remembered.
Of course, he knew he shouldn’t worry the family. He would be pissed if he knew that any of them knew where you were and didn’t tell him, but Jason couldn’t.
Bruce needed to suffer. He needed to feel the guilt and the pain that he had put you through. Borderline abuse. If Jason had known, he would have gotten you out of there.
Jason sighed and closed his eyes. Dick mentioned something about being concerned in the group chat, but Jason had muted it.
His mind went around and around for a long time. He opened the chat several times, but couldn’t make himself type the message.
A whimper came from you. Jason dropped his phone and instantly went to your side. He sat on the end of your bed, gently carting his fingers through your hair. Your eyes squeezed together. A soft ‘I’m sorry’ slipped from between your lips.
“Hush, you’re safe. No one is going to hurt you. Big brother is here,” Jason whispered. He took a deep breath to still the rage that bubbled up inside him. You relaxed, soothed by his touch. Jason’s heart swelled and in that moment, Jason decided a little vacation away from your father and the rest of the family was just what you needed.
***
After the first week passed and you weren’t found, Bruce started his own investigation. He was impressed by how fast you disappeared, but he felt sick knowing you were out in the world somewhere alone.
By the second week, Bruce followed leads only to find dead ends. None of the family found anything. Bruce had concluded you had to have been kidnapped. There was no other way you would be gone without a trace.
Third week, Bruce tracked down Ra’s al Ghul, Deathstroke, and Lady Shiva. None of them were part of your disappearance. He did checks into Task Force X and the government, but those were dead ends as well.
Bruce marched through the watchtower. It was the fourth week and no sign of you. He knew he looked rough from how Fire and Ice looked at him as he passed. A month old beard on his face. You would have left a razor by his suit in the changing room by now. There wasn’t time to eat or sleep, not when he needed to find you.
A flash of you as a little girl, running to hug him when he got home from patrol. You had a big smile on your face. He realized he couldn’t remember the last time you smiled.
Bruce shook his head. Focus. He marched into the meeting room to find Diana, Clark, and Hal waiting.
“Woah, Bats. Have you showered recently? Sheez.” Hal held his nose and waved his hand in front of his face.
A growl slid past Bruce’s lips. “My daughter is missing. I don’t have time for you, Jordan.” Clark and Diana shared a worried look. Hal just whistled.
“We know. Nightwing asked for our help,” Clark said, getting to his feet and reaching out to touch Bruce’s shoulder. Bruce flinched away from him. “We couldn’t find anything, Bruce. I’ve been sweeping the globe every few hours.”
Diana stood up, studying Bruce carefully. “When the last time you slept?”
“Let me know if you find anything.” Bruce turned sharply and started out of the room. He stopped when a green wall appeared in front of him.
“Nah, we can’t let you go like this, B. You look like you could collapse at any moment,” Hal said. Bruce spun to face him, glaring darkly. Hal was straight faced. Both Diana and Clark took a step toward him.
“Let me ask you.” Bruce held up a hand, stopping all three. “If it was your daughter, would you stop to rest?” He jabbed a finger at Hal. “You don’t have children, so you can’t understand, but I will only ask once for you to let me leave.”
Clark sighed. “Bruce...” He took another step forward. “Just sit down for a minute. I’ll do another sweep. Hal will too. Please. You passing out won’t help (Y/N).”
Bruce took a deep breath before melting into one of the chairs. The three heroes looked surprised. Clark and Hal flew off while Diana sat down beside him. “We’ll find her, Bruce,” Diana soothed. Bruce rested his head against the back of the chair and closed his eyes. He remembered the look on your face when he told you he was sending you away. It sent a shiver down his spine. He needed to find you soon. That will not be his last memory of you.

Jason laid back in his lounge chair, watching you and Artemis walk along the beach. Bizarro laid on the sand next to him, snoring away. After you had woken up, Jason offered to take you to the Outlaws’ Island. You happily agreed. It had been four weeks now, and Jason could see the changes in you. You smiled more, laughed more, your confidence and sense of self blossomed. Jason chuckled, watching Artemis and you race down the beach.
The island was off the grid, had protective shields that blocked it from radar and anyone with super sight or hearing. Jason still didn’t tell the family he had you. He hoped Bruce was suffering, sick with worry. Jason only felt a little guilty.
“Superman didn’t fly by again,” Bizarro said, waking up with a jerk. “He’s not looking.”
“I know.” Jason crossed his arms and relaxed. “But we’re not going to worry about it.”
“Bizarro is worried.” Bizarro laid back down and quickly went back to sleep. His snore shook Jason’s chair. Jason snorted. Superman was probably looking for you.
He smiled when he saw you and Artemis diving into the water for a swim. Spending time with Artemis was good for you. Jason knew from the first few days how much you craved attention from anyone. He closed his eyes, listening to the sound of you and Artemis joking and laughing at each other.
***
“I got information about an ancient Greek artifact being auctioned off in a week. Maxie Zeus is planning on buying it,” Artemis said as she walked into the den. Bizarro sat cross-legged in front of the tv, awed by The Lion King. A movie Bizarro picked out. Jason was reclining in the armchair. The chair was big enough for you to lay beside him, fast asleep and snuggled into his side.
“Good, we’ll make a plan in the morning,” Jason said softly, glancing down at you when you shifted closer to him.
Artemis sat on the couch. She raised an eyebrow at the tv before studying Jason with narrowed eyes. Jason ignored her gaze, watching the tv.
You woke up once the movie was done. “I’m going to bed,” you yawned, stretching your arms. Jason put the footrest down and helped you up. “Good night.” Jason ruffled your hair, Artemis patted your arm, while Bizarro waved wildly.
“Bad night, (Y/N).” Bizarro smiled big before turning back to the tv as the credits rolled.
Once you were out of the room, Jason turned to look at Artemis who was still staring at him. “Okay, what is it?”
“We can’t keep (Y/N) here forever.” Artemis crossed her arms. “Superman flew over the island fourteen times today. They even officially announced her disappearance with a million dollar reward for her return.” Jason pursed his lips. Artemis stood up as if her height would make her point. “You have to at least let them know she’s here. I understand your cause. Her father doesn’t deserve her, but I think he may have suffered enough, Jason.”
Jason stood up, puffing his chest out a little as he looked up to meet her gaze. “He abused her.”
“A man who doesn’t love his child wouldn’t spend four weeks running around the world, pulling favors, attacking super villains, and who knows what else just to find them.” Artemis smiled rather sadly at him. “I read the reports you’ve been keeping on their search for her. She needs to go home.”
“(Y/N) said she not homesick.” Bizarro turned to look at the two. Jason bit his lip, backing away from Artemis. He ran a hand through his hair.
“Bruce hurt her, Art.” Jason’s eyes burned. He turned away quickly before they noticed the shine in his eyes. “(Y/N) is the sweetest kid. She didn’t deserve to feel like nothing, to feel like no one cared about her. When I found her, she was craving for attention, love. That bastard didn’t even care she was gone. He didn’t start looking himself for a week.”
Artemis sighed. “I’m not saying that we just hand her over.” She laid a hand on Jason’s shoulder. “But they need to know she’s safe. Jason, they already may not forgive you for this.”
Jason groaned, rolling his eyes and running a hand over his face. Part of him refused to do it, wanting to keep you here and safe, but then he realized, he was acting a bit like Bruce. Locking you away on the island forever wouldn’t be possible.
His shoulders dropped. “I’ll talk to (Y/N) after the mission. It has to be her choice.” He looked at Artemis. “Not anyone else’s.”
Artemis nodded. “I wouldn’t expect anything less.” Bizarro grinned and gave Jason a thumbs down.
“We might as well start our plan to get that artifact since you’re all bleeding hearts right now.” Jason straightened his shoulders and gestured for them to follow him out of the room. Bizarro pouted, but got to his feet. Artemis just rolled her eyes.

“Hey Jay?” you asked, peeking into his office to find Jason sitting at his desk, studying a set of building plans. “What are you doing?” You opened the door wider when he looked up and smiled.
Jason chuckled. “Going over the plans of the auction house for the mission.” His eyes stayed on you as you wandered over to pull Mansfield Park out of his bookshelf.
“What mission?” You hugged the book to your chest and joined him at his desk. He tugged on a strand of your hair.
“Right, we talked about it after you went to bed.” Jason rubbed his chin. “Artemis found out a Greek relic is being auctioned off and Maxie Zeus is planning on buying it. We’re going to get it first.” He crossed his arms, frowning slightly at the plans. “It’s just...this auction house is very old and doesn’t have the best layout for an escape.”
“Why don’t you go in quietly?” You studied the layout. “Go in disguise, buy the artifact, and get out of there before Maxie Zeus knows what happened.”
Jason hummed. “That’s a good idea. Just that Artemis and Bizarro can’t do undercover work. Maxie will be looking for anyone looking like an Amazon or a Super.”
“I mean I could.” You bounced on your toes, looking up at Jason with sparkling eyes. “He wouldn’t be looking for me.”
Jason’s eyes widened. “Now that’s a thought.” He looked back at the building plans. “But you can’t go in alone. You’re too young. It would raise suspicion.” Jason sat back in his chair. “But if I came with you...” He chuckled. “That could work. If you’re up for it, (Y/N)? I don’t want to push you.”
You grinned, leaning against the desk. “I’m game.” You bit your lip. “Dad wouldn’t be mad about it, would he?”
Jason paused. “Kid, we don’t have to worry about your dad. It’s just a mission.” He reached up and ruffled your hair. You batted his hand away, giggling. He looked down at his copy of Mansfield Park. “Really? You chose that one instead of Emma?”
“I already read Emma.” You put a hand on your hip. “And you said Mansfield Park is one you have to read once in your life.”
Jason scoffed. “I guess I did, but be ready. It’s got nothing on Emma.” The two of you fell into a book debate. You admitted you hadn’t been this happy in a very long time.
***
You stepped in front of the mirror and wrinkled your nose. “Are you sure I have to dress like this? No normal rich kid dresses like this, you know that.”
“But it fits the type, doesn’t it?” Jason said as he leaned back against the chair in the dressing room. You spun around, hating the outfit. It reminded you of what Vickie Vale wore at the last Wayne Tech party when she was trying to get your father’s attention. Too fancy and the cut on you was awful.
Jason put on his sunglasses and adjusted his suit coat. He looked like some trust fund baby. Of course, you were pretending to be his daughter. You pointed out that you would have been a teen pregnancy. Jason thought it was funny, and said it frankly worked with the part you were trying to play.
The store attendant came in and poured her attention over Jason. You listened in, pretending you loved the clothes. Jason played the part well. You wished you got a video of this, maybe to use as bribery in the future. “I think that’s all, but is it okay for my little bean to wear this out? She just loves it so much,” Jason cooed to her.
“Of course, I’ll have everything else bagged up and sent to your hotel as promised.” The woman almost drooled.
“Thanks Daddy.” You had to swallow a bit of vomit. Even Bruce was only Dad, you never called him Daddy ever. However, you forced an adoring smile on your face as you skipped over to kiss Jason’s cheek.
“Anything for my baby.” Jason patted your back before turning to the attendant. “We must be on our way. I have an auction to get to.”
The attendant saw them out, continuously talking even when you both were out the door. “Can I never call you Daddy again?” you whispered as you approached the Red Camaro.
Jason got in the driver’s seat. You hopped in the passenger side. Once the doors were closed, Jason turned to you. “Never again. It was weird, but fit the part. Good job.” He winked at you.
Turning on the Camaro, Jason zoomed down the street somewhat recklessly. “Is this really going to work? Us pretending to be rich dummies and outbidding the artifact from Maxie Zeus? I thought we’d take the smart museum curator approach.” You bit your lip and adjusted your outfit.
“Do you think I could be a museum curator? Maybe Tim could, he’s boring enough.” Jason smirked. “Besides, Art and Bizarro are already in position. It will be fine.”
You hummed, closing your eyes. After a moment of silence, you dared to speak. “Jay, have you heard from Dad or the others at all?” Your heart ached slightly. No one tried to contact you in the month you’ve been gone. Jason would have told you if they did.
Jason flinched, glancing at you before focusing on the road. He worried his lip. “I didn’t tell them you were with me.” Your eyes widened in surprise. Jason blushed. “I wanted you to have time to figure things out, to heal, but they’re all looking for you. Even publicly announced your disappearance.”
“Is that why you had me change my hair color?” You touched your hair, feeling the cheap dye that hadn’t been all washed out. Dyeing your hair in an airplane bathroom hadn’t been easy.
“Kid, they have a million dollar reward for your return.” Jason sighed, clenching at the steering wheel. “Listen, I was going to tell you, but I wanted to wait until after the mission. You don’t have to decide anything right now, because it is your choice. I’m happy to keep you with me forever if you want.”
Butterflies fluttered in your stomach as you grinned. “Thanks Jay.”
Jason relaxed with a chuckle, looking at you. “You’re welcome, kid. Now let’s just focus on the mission for now. Hakuna Matata.”
“Sure Pumba.” You bit your lip to hold back a laugh.
Jason gasped as he stopped at a stop sign. “Hey, I’m Simba if anything. Prodigal son and all that.” You both laughed hard enough that Jason missed his turn.

Dick walked through a homeless shelter in Coast City. He saw several young teens. His heart ached for them, but none of them were you.
A beep came from his phone. ‘Call me. We have a sighting of (Y/N).’ Dick hurried out of the shelter, tapping Barbara’s name as he walked down the steps. Damian was waiting outside, tapping his foot impatiently. He opened his mouth to speak, but Dick held up a hand to stop him.
“My program caught her face on a security camera in a boutique in Greece. Jason was with her. Her hair was different, but it was (Y/N),” Barbara said, not bothering with a greeting.
“Jason? I should have known,” Dick said. Damian’s eyes narrowed dangerously. “How long ago was the sighting?”
“Twenty minutes. I’ll send the jet to meet you. ETA ten minutes.” Barbara hung up.
Damian huffed. “Todd had her this whole time?” His fists clenched. Dick laid a hand on his shoulder, rubbing gently as if to take away the tension.
“Let’s just focus on the fact (Y/N) is safe.” Dick took the car keys out of his pocket. “We got a jet to catch.” The two men headed off.
***
Bruce stood up so fast, his batcomputer chair flew back and fell onto the floor. Barbara’s message was loud and clear. Bruce had hacked into her system to monitor their progress on the search. The tension in his shoulders drained out of him. He dwelled in the moment, knowing you were safe.
However, rage filled him at the thought of Jason keeping you from him. Not letting anyone know where you were. Irresponsible. Selfish.
The computer beeped with the location of the sighting. Bruce grabbed his cowl and ran toward the batplane.
***
You swung your legs as you sat on one of the hinged chairs in the theater-like room of the old auction house. Jason was off getting a drink and mingling to learn the lay of the room. You were taking mental notes of your own. There was a hidden door in the bottom of the stage, but the quickest exit was the door on the left. If you remembered the map Jason had you memorize, that door would take you down a long hallway toward the kitchens.
The entrance doors banged open suddenly. You spun around in surprise. Maxie Zeus announced himself with a booming voice as three men dressed like gladiators carried him in on a throne that looked like clouds. “That’s insane,” you mumbled.
“I know everyone needs a theme, but it’s stupid,” Jason said, appearing beside you with a glass of whiskey in his hand. He handed another glass to you. You raised an eyebrow. “It’s just a coke. Calm down.” He sat down next to you, eyeing the room.
Taking the glass, you sipped at it to confirm. “He’s got plain clothes men in the corners,” you said softly. The men all had lightning symbols on their ties. Not subtle at all.
Jason smirked. “Good catch. We might have a hard time leaving if we outbid him.” Jason downed his drink. “I have Art and B moving to interfere. Unfortunately, this won’t be as quiet as we wanted.” He handed his glass off to a passing waiter who was relieved to have a reason not to approach Maxie Zeus. “I want you to run if this becomes a fire fight. Put on your suit and follow Art’s lead.”
You blinked. You assumed you would be told to run, not come back. “Will do.” Take a sip of your coke, you hid a smile. Your heart lifted. Finally, you were trusted in the way you always wanted. People began to take their seats as the auctioneer took the stage.
***
Dick and Damian skydived out of the jet, parachuting toward the auction house. “You have company,” Barbara reported quietly. “I got Batman on one of the cameras inside.”
“So B does care.” Dick pursed his lips as he and Damian floated down to land on a roof about a block from the auction house.
“Father is here?” Damian unclipped his parachute, letting it collect itself back into the pack.
“Yeah, so we’ll have to stay sharp.” Dick put his own pack together, dropping it on the roof for pickup later. “(Y/N) and Jason are in a tight situation.”
“TT.” Damian suddenly tensed, grabbing Dick’s arm. Dick looked at him in surprise. Damian was looking up. Dick followed his gaze to see Bizarro floating above them with a smile on his face.
Dick pursed his lips, fighting the urge to attack. Bizarro was on Jason’s side, and Jason was on their side. Hopefully. “Red Him said you were coming,” Bizarro said after a moment.
“He knew we were coming?” Damian hissed, reaching for his sword. Dick gestured for Damian to stop.
“No, Bizarro speaks in opposites.” Dick smiled. “Hi Bizarro, we’re looking for (Y/N).”
“(Y/N) isn’t in auction house with Red Him. We aren’t on a special mission for Red Her.” Bizarro landed on the roof with a thump. Damian eyed the roof nervously before checking to see if they had been seen. The streets were busy this time of evening. Lots of tourists. “Bizarro wasn’t ordered to help little people when nothing happens.”
Damian snorted, crossing his arms. Dick held up a hand. “Let us help. Can you take us to Artemis?”
Bizarro shook his head with a big grin. He grabbed Damian by the back of his cape. Damian grunted in protest, but stayed quiet. Dick just grabbed Bizarro’s other arm and they were in the air, heading toward the auction house. He updated Barbara as they flew.
***
Bruce frowned from his position in the rafters of the auction house. You were in the middle of the room, in the direct line of fire if Maxie Zeus broke the peace. He swallowed hard. His comm beeped. Bruce answered without thinking.
“Batman, Nightwing and Redbird are here. They are assisting the Outlaws in taking down Maxie Zeus and retrieving a Greek artifact. Can I connect your comm with theirs, so you can coordinate?” Barbara’s voice startled him only slightly. Dick and Damian were here too. Bruce frowned, too many risks here.
“My priority is (Y/N). Nothing else.” Bruce’s voice barely above a whisper, knowing sound would travel. He frowned when he saw how badly your hair was dyed. The clothes you were wearing were so unlike you.
Barbara sighed. “Please, Bruce. We’re more likely to get (Y/N) out safely if we’re all working together.”
Bruce knew she was right. He had more children here now. “Fine, patch me in.”
***
Jason grabbed your hand, squeezing gently as the artifact was brought on stage. It looked like nothing special, a simple wooden box. However, inside was a old arrowhead. The auctioneer said it has the arrow that killed Achilles.
You leaned over to him. “Really?”
“Art says so,” Jason mumbled, frowning slightly. You remembered he had a comm in his ear. The Outlaws only had three of them, so you didn’t have one. “We have company by the way.”
“What company?” You glanced at the doors, but they were still closed. Maxie Zeus still had the same amount of goons as before.
“Your father is here along with the double Ds.” Jason pursed his lips. “I should have known they had face recognition software looking for you.”
You tensed, a shiver running down your spine. “He’s going to be mad.” Your heart pounded so hard, it could have burst out of your chest.
Jason grabbed your hand. He squeezed tight. “He can’t hurt you. You are Robin,” he whispered in your ear. “You earned it and that can never be taken away from you.”
Blinking, you felt blood rushing to your face. “Really?”
“Really.” Jason smirked, kissing your cheek. “Now let’s focus.”
You nodded, watching the stage as the bidding began.
“A hundred thousand Drachma, young mortal.” Maxie’s voice boomed throughout the room. You glanced back at him. He was brimming with confidence.
With a shit-eating grin, Jason raised his hand. “Two hundred thousand Euros.”
The air was sucked out of the room. You forced a smile on your face.
“You dare?!” Maxie waved his bolt of lightning around. “Foolish little nothing. Three hundred thousand Drachma.”
“Four hundred thousand Euros.” Jason took your hand. “My baby wants it, so she gets it.” He threw you a smile. You acted like you were excited, hopefully others will not notice you were shaking with fear.
“One million Drachma!” Maxie screamed, pointing his bolt of lightning toward a empty chair. Electric energy hit the chair. You could smell the smoke. Some people screamed. You only flinched. Jason just hummed.
“Actually sir.” The auctioneer cleared his throat. Nervous sweat dripped down his face. “Drachma is not one of our accepted currencies.”
Several people quietly began to move toward the doors. Maxie’s men blocked them from leaving. “Okay, this is about to blow,” Jason hissed. He wrapped an arm around your shoulders. “Bizarro is going to bust through the far door.” Jason nodded toward the door. You eyed it.
“He can’t. It will hurt civilians.” You pursed your lips.
Jason let out a slow breath. “Fine, but move once he strikes.”
Maxie Zeus raised his bolt and aimed it at the auctioneer. The auctioneer held up his hands, knees quaking. “No one defies the King of the Gods.”
Time slowed. Jason pushed you down. You heard the crack of energy from Maxie’s bolt. The auctioneer cried out as a familiar black form soared from the rafters and tackled him out of the way. The bolt hit the curtain behind where the auctioneer stood and it burst into flames.
“Go,” Jason said. You sprinted toward the door as Maxie’s guard pulled out their own lightning weapons. With no hesitation, you leaped at one of the guard blocking the door and kick the weapon out of his hands.
You heard gunshots behind you, but you ignored it, punching out the guard. Civilians ran through the door. You disappeared into the panicked crowd.
***
Bruce moved off the auctioneer. “Run,” he whispered in the man’s ear. The auctioneer didn’t need to be told twice and joined the crowd leaving the room.
You were safe. Bruce caught a glimpse of you in the crowd. He relaxed slightly before standing up to face Maxie Zeus.
“Aww, Hades. Why are you here? You never did care much for weapons,” Maxie said, studying Bruce in his full batsuit.
“I don’t.” Bruce growled. “Stand down Maximilian.”
Jason hopped on the stage next to Bruce. His red hood suit was on along with the helmet. He picked up the box with the arrowhead inside and slipped it into his pocket. “Tell your demon to put the box down. He is unworthy to touch it,” Maxie said, aiming his bolt at Jason. Jason dodged to avoid the blast. The fire began to spread. Smoke filled the room.
“We need to get him outside,” Jason said into the comm. He coughed. Bruce grabbed Jason’s jacket and pulled him out of the way of another blast from Maxie. “Bizarro, put out the fire, will ya?”
“We’re going to have a long talk after this is over,” Bruce snapped, throwing a batarang to knock Maxie’s bolt out of his hand. Maxie scrambled after it.
Jason hummed. Bruce could feel the iciness of his gaze even though his eyes were hidden under his helmet. “We do.”
Bizarro burst through the far wall and shot ice beams at the flames. Bruce’s mouth twitched as Jason suddenly ran forward to attack Maxie. Maxie’s men swarmed, firing wildly. Bruce dodged and joined Jason in the fight.
***
You hid behind a corner in the chaos, changing into your makeshift Robin suit.  Tossing the ugly outfit into the flames nearby, you helped some people out of the building.
“Robin, keep helping with the rescue,” Artemis ordered once you met her outside. You nodded. She patted your head and sprinted inside with her battle ax.
You guided people out. A young woman ran out, sputtering in Greek. You grabbed her when she stumbled.
“What’s wrong?” You asked, mind swirling as you tried to remember what little Greek you knew.
She gestured back inside. “Papa...he’s...”
A boom echoed from inside the building. Parts of the roof collapsed. People screamed in horror. The woman burst into tears, mumbling incoherently.
Your stomach sunk to your feet. You told yourself that your family all knew what they were doing. They were experts.
“I’ll go get him.” You helped the woman to lean against an emergency vehicle. She collapsed against it, sobbing.
Time slowed. You eyed the building. Artemis told you to help with the rescue, but you knew she meant for you to stay outside. Your blood ran hot. A flash of Bruce’s angry face appeared before your eyes.
“You’re Robin.” You let out a breath you didn’t realize you were holding. Pushing yourself forward, you sprinted into the building.
***
Bruce ducked another blast from Maxie’s bolt. “Red Hood.” Jason’s head tilted slightly, glancing Bruce’s way. Bruce gestured to his forehead then chin. Jason nodded and slipped out of Maxie’s sight.
Dick and Damian were evacuating Maxie’s unconscious men. Bizarro and Artemis were attempting to prevent the building from full collapse. However, given the amount of debris falling, Bruce knew it was only a matter of time.
“Maximillian, you’ve lost.” Bruce stood tall, straightening his shoulders.
“Zeus never loses!” Maxie aimed his bolt at Bruce’s chest. Bruce held out his arms and waited.
The tip of the bolt glowed. A smirk pulled at Bruce’s lips as he saw Red Hood jump out of the shadows and struck a nerve strike to Maxie’s neck. Maxie fell like a ton of bricks.
“The building is going to collapse, there is nothing we can do,” Artemis said through the comm. “We need to get out now. Are you done toying with Maxie Zeus?”
“Yeah, we’re good.” Jason grunted, picking up Maxie’s bolt and tucking it in his belt. Bruce came to his side and picked up Maxie. Jason quickly supported the other side and both men dragged him out. Damian and Dick led the way, carrying the last of Maxie’s men between them.
The building groaned around them. Debris fell from the ceiling. They made it to the lobby.
“You’re going to be alright.” Your voice drifted from somewhere off to Bruce’s right. His blood ran cold.
“Who’s got eyes on Robin?” Bruce demanded into the comms. Jason grunted, Bruce took more of Maxie’s weight as they neared the entrance.
“Robin was outside, helping with the evac,” Artemis said. Her voice cracked.
Dick cleared his throat. “No sign of her out here.”
“Civilians last saw Robin going into the building.” Damian’s voice sounded very young. A lump formed in Bruce’s throat.
Bruce felt Jason’s gaze on him as they paused just inside the doorway out. Jason sighed deeply. “I got Maxie. Go get her,” Jason mumbled softly.
Bruce carefully shifted all of Maxie’s weight to Jason and sprinted off toward the direction of your voice.
***
The man’s leg was trapped under a piece of the roof. You knelt down next to him, trying to soothe him as you assessed the damage.
Dust showered from above combining with the remaining smoke from the fire. You coughed, glancing around the hallway. It looked like it led toward the backstage of the main theater where the auction was held. You wondered if the roof debris fell on the man when Bizarro broke through the building.
There was a big hole to your left, leading through another room, then to the lobby.
You swallowed hard, taking out a flashlight to study the man’s leg. It looked like it wasn’t wedged, which meant you could move it off without causing him pain or life threatening injury.
The man tapped your arm rapidly, babbling on. He pointed to the ceiling. The building whined around you.
“You’re going to be alright.” You took his hand and squeezed it gently. The man relaxed, still mumbling what you couldn’t understand. He closed his eyes.
You gripped the side of the roof and pulled. Your arms almost came out of their sockets. You bit your lip, using all your strength, but the roof piece didn’t move.
“Damn, I wish I had a comm,” you mumbled, letting go. The man looked at you with a scary look of acceptance. He spoke and pointed to the exit.
“No, I’m going to get you out.” You tried to lift it again. The man just closed his eyes again. “Come on.”
More dust fell. You coughed again, but you kept pulling at the roof piece. Suddenly, you felt the roof move.
You almost laughed, watching the man’s eyes widen in fear as he slid out from under the roof.
“Robin.” Your heart stopped. You turned to find Batman holding onto the roof piece. “Let go. I’m going to drop it.”
You jumped back. Bruce dropped it. The bang echoed throughout the building, kicking up more dust. It went straight into your lungs.
Coughing hard, you swore you saw the man ran out of the building after a sharp word from Bruce.
Bruce’s arms wrapped around you and your face was shoved into his shoulder. Your legs left the ground. Air rushed around your ears as you heard the crack of the building’s walls giving out.
You couldn’t get air in your lungs. Black swarmed your vision as the sound of shattering glass filled your ears. Bruce’s arms disappeared from around you and you felt a flash of pain before darkness overtook you.
***
Pain flared through your body. Your ears rang. You lifted your arm only to feel someone touch it and gently guide it down.
Suddenly, you were weightless, pressed against a warm mass. It was hard to breathe, your lungs heavy as two stones in your chest.
A mask was placed over your mouth and nose, fresh air filled your airways. You coughed, reaching up to pull at the mask only for another hand to hold it there.
“You’re okay, you’re okay,” Dick’s voice broke through the ringing. Your eyes felt sealed shut. You reached up to rub them only for someone to push your hands down again.
Suddenly, you were laid down on a hard surface. “Relax, kiddo. You’re okay, we’re all okay,” Dick soothed again. A hand held yours, you squeezed their fingers. “Good kid.” Lips pressed against your forehead before pulling away.
Voices bubbled to the surface. The panic in them made you shiver. A blanket was laid over you as Dick continued to soothe. The edge in his voice scared you.
You forced your eyes open, blinking at the bright lights. A dark shadow hovered above you. Your head hurt as you focused enough to see Dick’s head was turned.
“Straight to the Watchtower. Damian, call them, have the med team ready for when we come in,” Dick said. His hand tightened around yours. “Jay, take B off first. He’s worse off.”
Your heart stopped. Ice cold sunk into your body as you turned your head to follow Dick’s gaze.
Blood dripped onto the floor from the tip of a gloved hand. You choked when you realized it was Batman’s glove.
You gasped, causing pain to flare in your chest as you tried to sit up. Dick’s attention was back on you as he held you down.
“(Y/N), you’re fine. Bruce is going to be fine too, but you need to stay still and calm for me, okay?” Dick looked into your eyes. His mask was off. You knew it meant something was very wrong. He never would have taken his mask off in the field.
You fought harder, ignoring the pain. Dick swore, holding you down rather roughly. Artemis appeared beside him with a needle in her hand. You screamed through the mask as you felt the prick of the needle.
The strength seeped out of you like water down a drain. Black swarmed your vision. “Sleep now,” Dick whispered, running his fingers through your hair. The last thing you saw was the tears in his eyes.
***
You woke to a loud snore. A dull pain throbbed in your head as you opened your eyes. The lights were dim. You reached up to rub your eyes only to feel the pull of an IV.
Another loud snore. You blinked to find the snore coming from Jason, who was fast asleep in the chair next to your bed.
You took a breath, feeling the itch of the oxygen tubes in your nose. The heaviness in your lungs was still there, but the oxygen seemed to lighten it somewhat.
The walls were the familiar dark grey of the watchtower and a viewport to your right showed the stars. You swallowed hard, your mouth suddenly very dry.
You couldn’t remember how you got here. The last thing you remembered was...Greece. The building was about to collapse and you were trying to save a man who was trapped. Did you save him?
The door opened to your left. You flinched to find Damian in the doorway, wearing sweatpants and a t-shirt. It would have alarmed you to see him in such casual clothes on the watchtower, but the domino mask over his eyes reassured you.
“TT.” His shoulders relaxed as he came to your side.
Another snore burst from Jason. Damian sneered in disgust. “Let me guess, his incessant snores woke you,” Damian said, glancing at the monitors above your head.
You followed his gaze.“Wh...” You paused to try to wet your mouth. “What happened?”
A frown flickered on Damian’s lips. His dark eyes turned back to you. “You don’t remember?” You shook your head. Fear crept up your spine.
Jason snored again. Damian grabbed a cloth from your bedside and hurled it at Jason’s face. Jason sputtered, choking slightly as he jerked awake.
“The building was going to fall...and the man...did he make it out?” you asked, studying Damian’s steely face. Damian pursed his lips.
“He made it out,” Damian said.
You blinked. “But I didn’t make it out?” Damian glanced at Jason, who held his gaze. The silence was heavy.
Jason sighed and reached to take your hand. “You made it out, kid, but...Bruce didn’t.”
Images flashed before your eyes. Bruce beside you, holding up the piece of roof. The feeling of his arms around you as your ears hurt from the noise. Dick’s face sharp with fear. The blood dripping from Batman’s glove.
Suddenly, you couldn’t breathe like your lungs had been transformed into thin paper straws. Black crept into your vision.
“Woah, hey.” Jason grabbed your shoulders. His eyes looked directly into yours. “He’s alive, just hurt. Calm down.” He took a deep breath. You struggled to copy him.
“You’re an idiot, Todd.” Damian’s voice somehow made you relax.
“Shut up, demon-brat.” Jason sent a glare Damian’s way. You felt your lungs expand, letting you breathe normally. Your heart slowed.
“I’m too old to be considered a brat,” Damian retorted.
“That’s what you think.” Jason smirked as he released your shoulders and sat back down. “B is stable, but he’s got a long road ahead, even for him.”
You relaxed, falling against your pillow. “Can I see him?”
Jason raised an eyebrow. “TT, of course, but later though,” Damian said, sitting on the edge of your bed. He sent Jason a glare, which he met with one of his own.
“Rest now.” Jason reached over to squeeze your shoulder. “You hungry? Thirsty?” He got to his feet. You shook your head. “I’ll bring you something anyway. You need to eat.” Jason left the room, stretching his arms above his head. Damian watched him go.
“You’re not mad at him?” You shivered, pulling the blankets tighter around you.
“I was, but...well, it doesn’t matter now.” He patted your knee. An odd sense of affection from him, but it felt nice though. “Go back to sleep. I’ll stay with you.”
You felt the exhaustion deep within your bones. Slowly you drifted off. “Damian?” You yawned.
He hummed, watching you with a shine in his eyes that you weren’t sure you ever seen in him before.
“Dad isn’t mad at me, is he? I failed him as Robin.” You opened your eyes in time to see him flinch.
“No, he’s not upset, nor did you fail.” Damian took your hand, squeezing it tight. You smiled. The last thing you remembered before you fell asleep was how rough the calluses on his hands were.
***
Dick’s arm was around your shoulders, very warm in comparison to the cold air of the watchtower. Even with Damian’s sweatshirt, you were cold. You leaned into him as you both walked down the hall toward Bruce’s room.
“Just remember he’s got a long road ahead of him. He got out of his last surgery about three hours ago.” Dick smiled, but it didn’t reach his eyes.
You nodded. “Thank you.” Your throat tightened, heart skipping a beat. It was all your fault. You should have been stronger, faster. A better Robin.
“We’re here.” Dick kissed the top of your head. You looked up at him to find him studying you. “You okay?”
“Yeah.” You swallowed against the lump in your throat. “I need to see him.”
Dick ran a hand through your hair. “Yeah, okay.” He opened the door, gesturing for you to step in.
You took a deep breath and stepped inside. Superman was sitting by the bed, looking up with a friendly, tired smile. You smiled back before focusing on the bed.
It didn’t look like him.
You bit your lip, stepping closer. He was covered in casts and bandages. Monitors beeped around him. An oxygen mask was over his mouth and nose.
“He’s awake,” Superman said, getting to his feet. “Still groggy from the anesthesia.”
“Dad?” His eyes flickered open. You rushed to his side. Your hand floated above his casted arm, not sure if you could touch him. “I’m so sorry.” Tears filled your eyes. “I’m sorry I wasn’t good enough and got you hurt.”
Bruce’s eyes widened slightly. His arm moved into your hand. “Don’t.” His whisper barely escaped the mask.
Superman removed the mask and stepped back. Dick rubbed your back, making you jump slightly because you had forgotten about him.
“Don’t cry,” Bruce rasped, coughing slightly.
You wiped your eyes with your sleeves. “I can’t help it.” Your lips trembled.
“So strong, so brave.” Bruce lifted his arm. He winced, but kept moving until he could touch your cheek. “You didn’t fail me. I failed you.”
The breath left your lungs. “What?”
“I wasn’t the father I should have been.” He brush away a stray tear with his thumb. You leaned into his hand like it was the most natural thing to do. “I’m so proud of you.” He choked slightly. Superman stepped up to try to put the mask back on him, but Bruce shook his head. “You are good enough, always were.”
“Don’t say that.” You took his hand in yours and rested it back on the bed. His arm shook from the strain.
“I’m not angry at you or Jason.” Bruce gasped, blood draining out of his face. He turned his head toward Superman and let him put the mask back on. His color came back with a few breaths.
Dick grunted, stepping to your side and pulling you against him. “Well, I’m sure he’s still a little upset at Jason. I know I am.” Dick smirked when a snort came from Bruce.
A smile tugged at your lips at the sound. “I’ll have to ask him and Bizarro how I couldn’t hear you or them for the month you were missing,” Superman said, crossing his arms as he retook his seat by Bruce’s bed.
Bruce squeezed your hand. You met his eye, seeing the love in them for the first time in months. A love you wondered had always been there, but just hidden.
You perched on the side of his bed, careful not to hurt him. Bruce’s eyes closed as Dick and Superman made small talk. You kept your hand in his, feeling so small and safe at the same time.
***
“You want some more, Dad?” You asked, holding out the pitcher of lemonade. Bruce shook his head, shifting in the lounge chair to find a better position. He still had his casts on, but he was healing.
You took your seat next to him and sipped from your own glass as the sun shined down and warmed your skin.
The gardens at Wayne Manor were a bit overgrown. Bruce had hired a few gardeners, but it would take time to reshape it to where Alfred had left it.
A month had past since Greece. Bruce was living at the manor with Tim and Cass taking care of him. You lived with Dick for now. Eventually, once Bruce had healed both physically and mentally, you would move back with him.
However, you made sure to visit a few times a week. Recently, Bruce insisted on sitting with you outside as the days turned sunny and warm for Gotham.
“How’s Bludhaven?” Bruce studied you. You kept your eyes on the gardens.
“Good.” You glanced at him. His lips were pursed, he turned back to the gardens as if to avoid your gaze. You smiled. “Not as cool as Gotham. I can’t wait to come back.”
A hint of a smile pulled at his lips. He sipped at his lemonade, wrinkling his nose. His jaw was relaxed, something you couldn’t have imagined seeing months ago.
“Jason wants me to spend the week with him,” you said. You almost laughed when Bruce narrowed his eyes. “With permission this time. He said I had to ask you and Dick. Dick said it was fine, but what do you think, Dad?”
“As long as you have your phone and you check in every day,” Bruce grumbled, crossing his arms. It was hard to do with his casts, you were impressed.
“I will.” You bit your lip. Your heart felt full. “I love you, Dad.”
Bruce looked at you, eyes sparkling slightly. “I love you too,” he mumbled after a moment. A lump formed in your throat as you felt yourself almost burst. You finally had your father back and nothing could have been better.

How do you feel about a bat family x male reader in which the reader (adopted or biologically Bruce’s, up to you) figures out for himself that he is trans and struggles with telling the family
*laughs maniacally* how do I feel? How do I FEEL???
I was very excited omg :333
I wrote this at 1:00 am so I’m so sorry if it’s not as good as my usual stuff
**I do not own any characters or part of the franchise from DC Comics**
Pairing: batfam x trans!brother!reader
Genre: slight hurt/comfort? There’s a happy ending
Summary: look at req
Tw: unintentional use of deadname, slight mention of skin picking
The Hardest Answer
You’d figured out you were trans a few months ago.
You didn’t wanna believe it at first. You didn’t wanna think about what being trans meant for you. For your family.
Eventually though, it became too much to bear. Weighing down on your chest and slowly suffocating you. You soon came to the horrifying realization you’d need to tell your family.
You knew at least three of your brothers wouldn’t have a problem with it. Hell, Tim had a boyfriend. But what about Damian and your dad?
Damian was obsessed with living up to the Wayne name, no matter how much he pretended he didn’t, and your father, he was always in the spotlight. Always pressured to be perfect, and by extension you were too.
The media was feral when they found out there was another biological child of The Prince of Gotham.
It was the Wayne’s monthly family dinner. It was awful, everyone kept calling you by that awful name. That name that just wasn’t you. It filled your ears and you had no choice but to respond to it.
“Hey ________ can you pass the salt?”
Or
“________ what do you think about doing our hair together tonight?”
You couldn’t handle it. So many people and none of them knew who you really were. You kept your eyes low and messed around with the various foods on your plate.
Tim was sitting next to you and seemed to catch onto you just picking at the food on your plate and not interacting with the people at the table.
“You good, _____?” He whispered to you.
You clenched your jaw and shrugged, forcing yourself not to scream about how you weren’t whoever the hell he thought he was talking to. How you weren’t a girl.
By now Damian’s attention has been caught and he was eyeing you up and down as well.
“_______, seriously if there’s anything you need to talk about I’m—“ Tim started.
“It’s nothing.” You deadpanned harshly.
Dick nudged Jason and they also looked at you with concern.
“If there’s something you’re not telling us, ______ you should really—“
Something in you snapped. You couldn’t handle it anymore.
“Oh my god! I’m not fucking _______! That’s not my name that’s not who I am!” You screamed.
You abruptly stood up and stomped off to your room. Leaving your family, their minds reeling and processing what you had said.
You slammed the door and locked it. You fell against the door and slid down burying your head in your knees. Tears welled in your eyes and you let out a gross sob.
You heard conversation downstairs but didn’t bother to listen. This was it. They were gunna kick you out or send you to conversion camp, or completely ignore it and act like everything was fine.
You heard steady unhurried footsteps echoing off the walls and approaching your room. You kept yourself quiet when they stopped in front of your door.
Two gentle knocks. Alfred. You stayed silent, picking at the carpet
“If there is something bothering you this badly I strongly suggest you talk about it.” He stated.
You noticed how he didn’t address you directly. You were grateful for such a small consideration.
“Did Master Tim say something to offend you?” He asked politely.
You sniffled, wiping your tear-stained cheeks and snotty nose. You slowly picked yourself up from the floor and unlocked the door, cracking it only enough to see Alfred.
“It wasn’t Tim.” You mumbled, looking at Alfred’s shoes.
“Mmm. I see. Something else then? Something deeper, maybe?” Alfred tried.
He caught on. He knew. You knew he knew. He’s observant like that. You pursed your lips, you felt tears full your eyes again but forced them down. You nodded.
“Well Young Master Wayne, how would you like to be referred to?”
You smiled and told him.
“An excellent name.” He complimented, a twinkle in his eye.
“Are…are you gunna tell the others?” You nervously asked.
“It is not my place. But if I were to give you advice, I would suggest you do tell them. They’re all quite worried, you know.” He rested a hand on your shoulder.
“They’ll accept you.” He reassured.
⋆﹥━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━﹤⋆
You walked downstairs and pushed the large doors to the living room open; Alfred had gathered them all there.
Damian was on the floor, petting Titus. Tim was sitting in a small armchair, legs dangling off of one of the arms. Jason was lounging on the couch, feet kicked up on the coffee table. And Dick was sitting crisscrossed on the other couch. Bruce was in a large armchair watching you with knit eyebrows.
You gulped and stepped to where all of the could see you.
Picking your cuticles and watching the floor, you cleared your throat.
“I’m—“ your voice cracked. “I’m sorry for lashing out at dinner but there’s something that’s been bothering me for a while now.”
Everyone watched with anticipation. You took a deep breath.
“I’m trans. I use he/him pronouns. I am not a girl.” You say strongly.
There’s no response. You get nervous, your eyes start to water.
This was all a big mistake you should have never—
Arms were around you. You looked up to see your Jason hugging you. You sobbed into his chest.
“Hey hey, you don’t need to cry. I’m so fucking proud of you.” He assured and pat your back.
“What’s your name, kid?” He asked.
You told him and he smiled.
“That’s a damn good name.” He responded.
The rest of your family caught up quickly. Tim and Dick hugging you and apologizing profusely as well.
Damian walked up to you. You looked down on him. He had his arms crossed.
“I guess one more brother couldn’t do any harm.” He said passively.
You pulled him into a hug as well; he was confused at first but then hugged you back.
Then your father approached you. You held your breath. He embraced you then pulled back to smile at you.
“You make me so proud, son.” He remarked.
You grinned and hugged him again.
Yeah, you were gunna be just fine.

Jason Todd x reader smut
~Cracked Mask~
Tumblr media
Jason Todd x fem!reader
Minors. Don’t. Freaking. Read. This.
Warnings: Smut, sex pollen trope, no Happy ending
Being the newest member of the bay family was hard.
Everyone already had established relationships and amusing dynamics. You felt kinda like an outsider.
That’s not to say that they weren’t welcoming. Duke has opened up about being new to the team and how it was a struggle to feel like you belong.
“But it’s all a mental battle.” He told you “Trust me when I say, We all want you here. And you are important.” He smiled.
What he said made you feel better, but it didn’t help with the awkwardness you felt just existing while the others shared old memories and worked as a unit.
It felt like you were being a nuisance when you asked for help, feeling like you were throwing off the vibe they had going.
Babs, although you don’t call her that outload cause it feels a little weird to call Thee original batgirl by her nickname when you have only worked with her for a few weeks, had made you feel comfortable in the new setting. She had shared helpful tips on how to read the other members of the batfamily during fights.
The only one she hadn’t told you about was Jason Todd.
Jason was the robin your remembered the most through you early teen years along with Tim drake in the later years.
Jason was a total mystery to you. You had been introduced to him your first day, and you had been on missions together, but he never made an effort to talk to you.
You won’t lie. He’s ridiculously hot. But he made you nervous. The other siblings approached him with sarcasm and jokes but you’ve seen him beat the crap out of some villains and the apparent different side he show when he’s with his brothers give you whiplash.
You think he’s caught on to your little crush as he purposefully makes eye contact with you and refuses to look away first. When you blush and look away and when you look back, he has a smirk on his face. Enough to make you blush harder.
currently your being assigned mission by Bruce. He usually puts you with him and Damian or with Duke during daytime patrol, but today…
“Poison ivy has recently attacked a chemical plant in bludhaven, she’s retreated to her home towards uptown. Usually I would take this, but the Joker has been setting off alarms so Robin and I will take care of that. Jason and Y/N will take Ivy. Tim and Cass get kiteman has trying to hard to be important downtown. And Steph will stay here if any backup is required. Got it?” He asked.
Everyone nodded and started off toward their respective vehicles. You didn’t know how to drive any other than Batmobile. You looked around and your eyes landed on Jason. He had his helmet in his hand while he responded to a text on his phone.
He looked handsome just casually leaning against the table with his head down. But Ivy committed a crime and won’t hesitate to commit more. Your time is important and you’re on the job. You’ll have time to stare at him from afar later, but right now you have a job to do.
You approach him quickly. “So what are we taking?” You ask as the rest of the team sped out of the batcave.
He points to his motorcycle. Shit. You have to hold on to him. You look back at him and he’s smirking again.
You put on your mask and get on the bike with him. You lightly put your hands around him, trying not to notice his hard muscles under your fingertips. Your mind starts to drift to what they would look like without his shirt on but get startled back to reality when he revs his engine and takes off into the night.
——
When you both are as quietly as possible enetering Poison ivys lair, you remember to put on the mask you have in your utility belt. You can hear your breathing in your ear louder than before.
Vines grab at you legs but you quickly cut them away. You book it deeper in with The red hood at your tail. “Poison Ivy!” He yells.
“You should leave you know, I don’t want to hurt you.” She said as she makes her way out of the shadows.
“Should have thought of that before you attacked a chemical plant.” You said, getting into a fighting position.
“Fine.” She said. Vines attached to your legs and shook you both around. You cut them while they had you in the air and fell to the ground.
You heard a crack when you hit the ground but payed no attention as you hurt the red hood grab a flamethrower and start burning the vines around you.
poison ivy screamed and hit you fast with thick vines you couldn’t cut through. She held you both up in front of her, and seethed with anger.
“Fine. If you think you’re so big and bad to start killing living things like that. I’ll treat you like a real threat!” She yelled. She pulled out a big pink flower and as in was in her hand it bloomed.
She sighed with joy when it sprouted then turned to face you too. “You want to be treated like Batman? Fine.” She smiled before blowing the pollen from the plant into your faces.
you couldn’t smell it at first having total faith in your mask and air filter. But when a pain started in your midsection, you screamed.
The red hood looked over at you and Ivy smiled. “Bye.” She said before the vines through you out of the building and into the street.
Jason tan over to you as you laid in pain. You were shaking with pain but were shocked to feel a Tingling between your legs.
Jason picked you up and grappling hooked you to a dark rooftop.
he took off his mask. “Y/N. What happened?” He looked at your mask and ripped it off your face. You coughed while shaking on the ground. You saw the clear crack across the front and the pollen stuck to it.
Jason swiped the pollen off with one finger and took a small sniff. He face contorted with an emotion you couldn’t quite figure out.
“Shit. Um. Y/N we can’t go to Batman about this. Trust me it will be worse if she sees you like this.” He said as you coughed and shook. Was he really denying you medical attention right now. You felt like you were gonna die.
“I don’t care! Just-“you coughed”help me!”
He looked around almost unconformably. His eyes filled with something. And before you know it his hand was over your clothed heat. You gasped in shock but quickly realized you didn’t feel any pain, just pure pleasure.
He removed his hand and immediately the pain was back. And you screamed.
he put his hand back on your core and applied pressure. “Y/N you were hit with sex pollen. The pain will only get worse if you don’t relive your self.” He said.
You were so lost in pleasure that all you did was nod repeatedly asking him to just do it.
he looked shocked but his eyes were blown out with lust. “You want me to. Are you sure?” He asked.
“Yes! Jason please! Make me cum!” You moaned with no hesitation.
That was all he needed before he was mercilessly rubbing your clit through your suit. You moaned loudly.
Jason kissed you quickly to shut you up. His lips were soft and his kiss was loving and slow compared to the ruthless pace he has on your clit.
“ More Jason!” You moaned against his lips. He got on top of you and slotted his hip’s between your legs.
you felt his hard length pressed against you core. He started rubbing his hard cock against your pussy, earning soft moans from you.
He rutted against you faster emitting grunts every so often. He picked up pace putting his head in the crook of your neck and he let out soft whimpers.
of course he whimpers, you thought.
“You’re so- so fuck.” He moaned if your ear as he picked up pace.
the friction of your suits caused you to quickly finish and left you wanting more.
Jason looked down and saw the wet mark on the front of your suit and how it grew. That only pushed him further. It turned him on even more.
“Ever since you walked into the batcave I’ve wanted you under me.”He grunts out. You moaned as the words reached your ears.
He wanted you.
his rutting becomes sloppy and animalistic as he groans and koans above you.
he starts kissing your neck softly. Which is completely different than the brutal pace he’s set.
He lets out a whine before collapsing on top of you. You wrap your arms around him just wanting the closeness.
a minute goes by before you both slowly come to your senses.
He quickly stands up and looks down on you and you desperately try to cover yourself up out of embarrassment.
“Shit. I’m- fuck. I’m sorry. I wasn’t thinking. When I smelt it to make sure I- fuck. We shouldn’t have- shit. Im Sorry.” He rambled before putting his face in his hands.
“Now what?” You ask as you stand up and face the opposite direction of him. “Like I don’t know how I’ll be able to look Bruce in the eye after. That.” You say as you just wish you had been given a different assignment.
“Let’s just go back and say the mission was a fail. Batman should have never given us this mission. He knows how brutal Ivy can be.” He says as he awkwardly picks up his helmet.
“let’s just forget this ever happened.” You say putting yourself back on the bike, pretending to not feel the tingle between your legs against the leather seat.
“Yea let’s just go back to normal.” He said.
you scoffed. “Yea the normal of ignoring me and me not talking to anyone.” You mutter.
“Y/N-“ Jason starts.
“No. Let’s just go. This was really weird. I want to go back home now.” You state feeling the embarrassment creep up your throat.
Not only did you just cum on this guy you only spoken five words to. But you just came on your bosses son. And he only did cause you were in pain. You felt like crying but you’d have to wait until you got back to the manor.
Jason simply nodded and got back on the bike and drove you home.
You only got laid causes he sniffed the pollen. The pollen made him say and babble crap he didn’t mean. You felt like an idiot.

The Little Batgirl (Yandere Platonic Batfam x Child Reader)
Tumblr media
Chapter 2 - Meet the Batfamily
Warning: None, just a bunch of batfam fluff
(Anything that reader says in a bolded text means she's in "thought of mind.")
From now on, this series will be posted on my yandere batfamily account, which is @yan-batgirl
Y/N stares at herself in the mirror as she tries to do her hair by making the perfect twin tails hairstyle.
After she had bounced on her new bed for nearly an hour, the same butler from before, Alfred, handed her a box from Bruce.
When she opened it, she saw a folded-up white costume-like dress that contained a white helmet with bat ears with small pink hearts on each side.
It also included small pink hand gloves and a pair of hot pink Astro Boy-like boots along with a bright yellow utility belt.
Her head was tilted, but she just shrugs it off and puts on the strange costume that was gifted to her.
However, after she put on the costume part, she was just staring at herself in the mirror, not knowing what to do next.
So, she decided to strike a pose.

~~~~~
Y/N was walking behind Bruce, Damian, and a group of unfamiliar looking people that Bruce had mentioned before.
A young man was wearing a black hero suit with a blue “V” minus the blocky boots and gauntlets who introduced himself as Nightwing, or his usual name, Dick Grayson.
A young guy who is probably around his teen years, he's probably around 17 or 18 whose name is Tim, but Damian calls him Timothy for some reason.
Another young guy is wearing a bright yellow suit as he carries his helmet which is the same kind of yellow is named Duke.
A girl who looked a bit younger than that young man was wearing the same suit as Bruce's Batman suit who hadn't introduced herself to the young girl yet.
Y/N just stares at them as they chat about random things.
"What an interesting group..." She said in her head before one of them turned to her.
"So, what made Bruce take you in?" The young man asks with a friendly looking smile.
Y/N actually didn't know.
She tried to come up with something to say before Bruce interferes.
"She's a child that needed to be taken care of. Y/N came from a rough household and needed to be taken care of since nobody wanted a child who was nearly seven years old. So, treat her with respect just like how you do with the others of this family," he tells him as he takes off his bat mask that reveals his face.
The man nods in response as he eyes the little girl from each second passing by before she finally catches him staring at her.
"Why are you eyeing at me like that? It's weird."
She tells him before he just focuses walking ahead.
"Sorry about that!" He said with a sheepish smile as Y/N just stared up at him with a eyed down look.
"He's weird." Is all she said in her head.
Then, she looks up at the slightly older girl next to her, who is dusting off her batsuit.
"Who are you?" Y/N asks as she points up at her which made the other girl smile down at her.
"I'm Cassandra. You can call me Cass if you like," she responds.
Once again, Y/N was in thought before she spoke up.
"So, Cass, why are you guys dressed up like that? Including me?" She asks out of curiosity.
Then, the doors of the dining hall open and reveal the table that is filled with different kinds of pastries.
"We have... A tradition," she said with a smile as she led them to the table.
~~~~~
The table reveals a bunch of desserts that has a various kinds of desserts.
The group sat in their seats as Y/N just stood by the doorway, not knowing what to do.
It was then Cassandra called out to her.
"Hey, Y/N! Come sit next to me."
She said with a smile as she tugs the chair back for Y/N to sit on which she did.
When the little girl took a seat, everyone just basically started to dig in with the pastries in front of them.
"All of these are made by Alfred. Most of these desserts won in a lot of awards."
Cassandra tells her as she takes a bite of one of the cookies.
"Does that mean they're really good?"
Y/N thoughts to herself before she nods before she takes a bite of a cookie.
The taste of the sweet, crispy dessert made her eyes wide open as her pupils turned into a shape of large stars.
"These are so good!"
She said before she took another one and shoves it in her mouth, which made some of the people laugh, including Bruce, who let's out a chuckle.
"Do you guys so this everyday?"
She asks as she shoves another cookie into her mouth.
"Only when we come back from missions without any injuries, but since this is basically your first day, we decided to do this tradition ."
Tim replies with a smile.
~~~~~
Later on, Y/N was sipping a cup of tea, which she later made a scrunched up face because of the bitter taste.
"I don't like this..."
She said as she sticks out her tongue.
This made Cassandra lightly chuckle.
"I get it. Dick actually made that."
She said as she pointed with her thumb towards Dick, who was leaning against his seat as he bites into a small piece of cake before he heard what she said.
"Oh, come on! I told you that I'm not an expert at making tea."
He said as he chewed with the cake piece in his mouth which made Cassandra roll her eyes playfully with a smirk on her face.
"Yeah, I get it."
She said in a playful tone.
Y/N looks up at him before she shows him her teacup that still has tea in it.
"No offense, but your tea doesn't taste that good."
She tells him, Dick just lets out a small chuckle.
"Welp, at least I tried."
~~~~~
After the lovely dessert time that they all had, the only ones left at the dining table were Y/N and Bruce himself who was watching her finishing up the last piece of the angel cake.
"Was it good?"
He asks her before she looks up and nods with a big smile on her bed.
"Yeah! They were right when they said that Alfred won a lot of awards with these desserts."
She said as Bruce smiled softly and nodded at her response.
"It's true. I've seen it all."
He said with as he clasped his hands together and stares into her eyes.
"Now, let's talk about your life from now on in the Wayne Manor.
Y/N tensed up by his words as she just stares up at him with wide eyes.
"Oh no! The real pressure is starting!"
Bruce then lets out another heavy sigh before he leans towards her a bit.
"Are you ready to be part of the batfamily?"
For weird reasons, a weird sense of silence was filled up.
Y/N looks up and just stares into Bruce's eyes.
"Huh?"
"I asked if you were ready to be a part of us."
She continues to look up at him with a dumbfounded.
"Me? A part of the bat... what?"
Bruce lets out a gentle sigh before he points at the costume she was wearing.
"Do you see the costume you're wearing right now?"
Y/N looks down and nods.
"That costume resembles the sign of the batfamily. It means that you are now one of the protectors of Gotham. However, I don't know if you really are capable of doing this, so that's why I'm asking you if you are ready to spend your life in this new position that you're going to hold."
Bruce explains to her as his gaze softens a bit.
"You're still young, so I want to give you a chance to think about your decisions before actually committing yourself into this family."
Y/N listened and then got into thinking.
"If I don't join, I could get kicked out and might be thrown out into the streets or sent back to the adoption home. But at the same time, if I did join, it'll be a life or death situation..."
She continues to think about the hard decision that she's going to make.
However, the more she thought about it, more exciting thoughts are starting to fill up her head.
"If I choose to stay, I can keep this costume and maybe go on astonishing missions with my new dad and maybe my new siblings. This is going to be very exciting!"
She said in her head as her eyes brightened like stars.
Then, she leaned to Bruce with a huge, determined smile on her face.
"I'm in!"
~~~~~
She doesn't know what's coming to her later on...
