☕️ I brewed myself a cup of coffee and it tastes amazing - smooth, balanced, with a hint of chocolate. I’m annotating this passage from Letters From A Stoic, which I’ll be transferring to my Obsidian! I love how it allows me to link related notes and quotes. It’s quite helpful in looking back at previous notes + helps me get a bigger picture of a topic etc.

Not much tasks for today so I might just read (currently: Enchantment of Ravens), and probably watch Harry Potter. I’m kind of sad that my holiday break is almost over. But I feel like if it goes on, I’ll be bored to death!

I thought that it was stupid that Brandon Sanderson had the narrator of Tress of the Emerald Sea call all the unnamed sailors "Dougs" when he could have just called them, you know, sailors. But then I started using the term. Turns out having a word for "yes, we know that realistically all these individuals have unique identities and personalities, but they're not the focus of this story so we're going to treat them as faceless background characters" is surprisingly useful.

#random thought of the day #because i was thinking way too deep into the portrayal of the nurses in artful dodger #and getting a bit worked up at how they're shoved aside (as usual for medical dramas) and not treated as real people #and then i was like 'calm down they're just dougs in this story it's okay' #(and then the next ep had one of the nurses call the girl a witch and i was like 'oh they remembered they have feelings. good work') #(and i felt even better) #incidentally despite my one and only post about that show being an angry nursing rant i am enjoying it #the girl's stupidly modern face and extreme entitlement are annoying #and i did skip part of ep ii because i'd just prefer not to watch relics be the butt of the joke #(even though they looked to be heading a slightly-less-offensive route than expected) #and ep 3 is going more soapy and melodramatic and less fun #but i do like that they have a 'young idealist versus experienced fatalist' dynamic going #soundtrack is fun #anachronism stays mostly on the fun side of the scale #fagin is shockingly amusing (i had expected more of a 'creepy blackmailer holding the past over his head' instead of 'chaotic criminal dad' #and i like that they're showing some restraint #(the deciding factor in watching it was my extreme surprise that a historical original was tv-14 instead of ma) #so we'll see how long it lasts but for now i'm not regretting the decision to watch

Hey, everyone. It’s been a while since I posted something. A lot has happened ever since, and I’m not sure if I want to talk about it here. Long story short, I fell in love with someone who broke my heart to pieces but hey it’s still pumping despite everything it went through so hustle with me and let’s get this degree together! I’m just glad I didn’t fail any of my subjects last semester even though I had a difficult time functioning in every aspect of my life but I guess that was just me running on autopilot for the past few months. That semester was just a chaotic whirlwind of exams, return demonstrations, and clinical duties and honestly I didn’t know how I survived all that. Looking back, I got to know myself on a deeper level and seeing how things turned out, I’ve been slowly regaining my self worth and self confidence little by little ♡

A gentle reminder to my girlies out there to never settle for less than what you deserve because it’s tough out there and when your degree is kicking your butt, you should surround yourself with people who won’t drag you down because the company you keep will make you or break you. Also please take care of your health, try to get enough sleep and eat your meals and drink your water because by the end of the day, you are your most valuable client :)))

Peep me seeing Florence on sale so I bought it and played the first few chapters during my break and I’m loving it so far!

☕️ Don't you just love cozy cafes?

First two weeks this second semester is crazy. I'm not joking. Had to do a lot of work for research, psych, and med-surg. There would be times where I felt so exhausted, I'd sleep at around 8:30 without brushing my teeth. Yikes! Hoping this week would be better.

Also, the matcha latte was ok taste wise. The gyudon was great! Hope it had more meat though 😌

Kai did fall quite easily into vigilantism after completing his degree of medicine and nursing, of course it was the simple things first, take care of the hurt, patch it up, not be really bothered to avoid a quirk use violation on his "healing" quirk (look, it is easy to forget a child that was never registered, but it isn't much easy to do so with a quirk so specific, so maybe Kai quirk description can be a bit more misleading than it let's on, but any precinct near would know better than to mess in the head of the family business).

But things escalated as they do, so sometimes Kai has to protect himself and victims, or potential victims too, he takes a liking to use his full respirator mask while going out in the night, his hood hides his purple hue. And white and covering his whole body are just the procedures of course. It makes clear what he left out of his almost impenetrable defense when something gets to him, and it is easier to clean than most people think!(Oboro:I would like to object that Bleach and Blue Soap just aren't good for any clothing-)
