Paradise is a shonen inspired, super-powered/action/rom-com/crime drama webcomic. It follows Pam, a delinquent daughter of a city councilman in a world of superpowers. Through CONSEQUENCES she ends up having to work for the city fighting super-powered crime, and is partnered with her childhood frenemy Evon. Following a rocky start, the pair become friends...and perhaps something more??

In the city’s shadowy underground, the Nebula Cartel holds an iron grip over crime in the city, but there’s dissent among it’s members in how to proceed with it’s long-term plans. The city itself isn’t clean either, lurking just beneath the surface are the machinations of the government officials, and not everyone wants to use their authority for good.

It’s got action!! It’s got jokes!!

It’s got intrigue!! It’s got heart!!

It’s got an ensemble cast!!

I got really inspired to do a "Cringetober" prompt list based on the fun but so-called cringey stuff in art that I saw the other day and really really wanted to do some of it for the Guild, so I might be doing it throughout this month on top of my usual Guildtober next month. Plus it gives me the chance to do different mediums for practice that'll show up in the comic for people's backstories in the next arc of the comic :)

stumbles in here nearly two weeks late HOW ABOUT A SONIC'IFIED CARETAKER?! i finally got a design for him i can show here

despite his looks, he has good intentions (probably). all teeth and no bite (except when he actually does). smokes like a chimney when he's stressed (that's the joke, he's always stressed).

he's an inventor/programmer, and thanks to metal, a little bit of a mechanic at this point too. i wouldn't consider him a particularly empathetic or intentionally-kind person, but some would argue his actions suggest otherwise.

a prime example of this being he is more or less responsible for why shadow/metal have a house where they do, given it's also where he himself lives. shortly after he'd taken in metal for repairs, shadow tagged along; he saw the place looks like permanently-night with electric blue nebulas, got a tad emotional about it, stayed the night. caretaker provided him a comically oversized blanket and a suggestion: go seek out the city owner tomorrow and request housing here.

so he did, and it was approved. caretaker here's quite close with the city owner, so he may or may not have put in a good word in advance.

metal, despite seeing him as a caretaker, still ended up "moving in" with shadow instead. caretaker's not exactly one for permanent company in terms of sharing his house long-term, so it worked out for everyone.

above all else, i'd consider him to be hospitable, but ultimately self-interested when you pull back the curtain. he's not a bad person, but he's not exactly a good person, either. he's just learned how to present himself as a fair balance, and occasionally the situation's just right to inspire what empathy he is capable of and directs it into bettering someone else's circumstances.

metal, being a robot, is the ultimate example of this: caretaker relates a whole lot more to machines and whatnot than others. he views metal as some kind of family first and foremost, and something like his own greatest project second.

when they're synced, metal absolutely refers to him as "father" by pure reflex. caretaker lets his slide; it's not really something metal can control, anyway.

Reverse Snap

To: The Russo Bros., Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios

                                                        Intro

¿What if events went differently in the MCU? In today’s fan fiction we’re going to be exploring what would have happened if the other half of heroes had been the ones to have been snapped away by Thanos at the end of Infinity War. ¿How can this affect Endgame going forward and will there even be a Endgame to begin with? This is an original what if created by me taking inspiration from the 1991 Infinity Gauntlet comic mixed with the 2013 Infinity comic while following the mythology of the Avengers and the timeline of the MCU. Without wasting anymore time sit back and relax and enjoy this fan fiction.

                                                         Prologue

Now that we saw a world with all the Avengers being dusted away by Thanos now it’s time to see a world where Thanos snapped the other half of heroes who in our universe survived the snap and see how the endgame play out had that massive change occurred and will guest star 3 characters from Black Widow and WandaVision and Thor 4 respectively since although we first saw them in phase 4 their main appearance in the timeline was during the time of the Infinity Saga. I am one of the Watchers and I am ur guide to these vast new realities. Follow me and pounder the question. What if…

                                                     Act 1

The ending of Infinity War was playing out the same as in our universe. Thanos would perform the Snap and Thor would ask him what did he do before Thanos used the Space Stone to teleport away and this is where our story begins. When Captain America asked Thor “where did Thanos go” he started feeling weird before Thor collapsed to the ground falling and in his final words he said “I love u Jane” before he dusted away. Cap watched in horror as this unfolded but he too started vanishing away while Bucky Barnes and Sam Wilson rushed to his aid. He looked at both of them and in his final words he told Sam that he was the next Captain America before he dusted away. Groot can only watch in horror as Rocket dusted away in thin air and he had a tear in his eye. Black Panther and Shuri tried to help as many Wakandans as they could but half of them including Okoye and M’Baku have already dusted away. He could see the Hulkbuster armor and he called for Bruce Banner ripping the helmet off but it was empty indicating that he has dusted away and saw Black Widow’s gear on the ground as she too dusted away. He saw Wanda lying there with Vision’s body and Black Panther told her to follow him. The group of heroes regrouped and they can see War Machine walking towards them but he dusted away in front of them. T’Challa told them that they needed to sent a distress signal to Tony Stark. On Titan, the heroes were beaten after their battle with Thanos and Stark felt weird and they all saw Nebula fading away and in her final words she said “He did it”. Stark then collapsed on the ground and as Spider-Man approached him Stark told him that “I’ll be ok” before he dusted away in front of him. Peter cried as he had Stark’s suit and Star-Lord told Strange to do something but he said that it was done and Thanos did what he said he would do which was to wipe out half of the entire universe. He told them that they needed to head back to Earth to find the other heroes that might’ve survived the snap. In New York, Nick Fury and Maria Hill were seeing people dusting away like in our universe and would sent a distress signal to Captain Marvel unaware that she had blipped away. Captain Marvel was helping the Skrulls as she saw half of them dusting away and she herself would eventually dust away as well. He told her that they had to find any survivors if they were going to make it out alive and sent a distress signal to Tony Stark in the hopes that he would respond. In San Francisco, Hank Pym, Janet van Dyne and her daughter Hope quickly got Scott Lang out of the Quantum Realm and this is important because since Scott Lang is still alive in this universe due to him being in the Quantum Realm when he was suppose to vanish since that’s a place outside space and time this creates big changes for this half of heroes that survived and the universe as a whole going forward and you’re about to find out why. Anyways, Scott told them that the mission was a success but it would be short-lived as they started seeing people dusting away in front of them. Just then Fury and Maria Hill arrived at their location and he told them to pack their things and get ready as the world might be ending soon. They then heard a message being broadcasted live on tv worldwide and it was Black Panther telling the people to stay in their homes and to not get out. Yelena Belova and Monica Rambeau would survive and Fury found both of them telling them to come with him.

                                                            Act 2

The following week Nick Fury, Maria Hill, Ant-Man, the Wasp, Janet, Giant-Man, Yelena and Spectrum regrouped at the Avengers Compound along with the survivors of Wakanda. They met with each other and T’Challa asked Fury what their next course of action would be. Fury told him that he tried to contact Hawkeye but his wife answered explaining to him that he dusted away in front of her children and herself. Just then they saw something orange behind the compound and it was Doctor Strange and the survivors of Titan. Fury was shocked seeing Spider-Man asking him where Stark was but he put his head down indicating that he dusted away. Quill can see Earth again and how much has changed. He knew it’s been too long and it felt weird for him to see this. The Guardians reunited with Groot and they asked him where Rocket was and he showed them his gun putting his head down indicating that he too dusted away. Sam found Cap’s shield which Stark repaired earlier while Ned, MJ, Aunt May, Flash and Betty would all survive in this universe and Parker would reunite with them bringing them all to the Avengers Compound. Strange and the team were looking for Thanos’s location to which they would eventually found it as Strange said that he was somewhere known as the garden. Now in this universe since all this is taken place only a week after the Snap Thanos has not yet destroyed the stones meaning that the heroes might just have a chance in getting back the stones and bring everyone back. The heroes came up with a plan to take down Thanos and as they were planning Jane Foster Thor’s ex lover arrived as the Mighty Thor who she had become early in this universe due to Thor being blipped leading to her finding his destroyed hammer lying where Odin died and she touched a piece of his hammer rebuilding itself and the rest is history. Jane told them how she wanted to avenge Thor’s death and that she would help them in taking down Thanos and would temporarily wield the Stormbreaker while Thor returns from the dead. Everyone agreed and Wanda’s eyes turned red before Doctor Strange opened a portal leading into Thanos’s garden.

                                                        Final act

Thanos was resting in his home when he then heard a voice from a distance saying “You should’ve been fair with the deal and spared Stark and now karma is coming”. Monica with her powers which she had obtained earlier in this universe destroyed Thanos’s home before the rest of the heroes ganged up on Thanos severely weakening him while Doctor Strange was finding a way to remove the Gauntlet from Thanos. Falcón came in stabbing Thanos with his wings before throwing his shield while Bucky shot him several times with his gun and Spider-Man tried to web the gauntlet just like what he did on Titan. Scarlet Witch used her telekinesis to lift Thanos while Black Panther and Shuri tag team helping the other heroes and Jane would do what Thor failed and she used the Stormbreaker to cut Thanos’s arm. Star-Lord would use his rocket boost while Drax stabbed his leg and the Ant-Family all turned huge crushing Thanos and Groot would injure him badly and Strange would open a portal revealing to be Mantis and just like on Titan she would put him to sleep. Thanos was defeated and Strange opened another portal with Fury, Maria Hill and Parker’s friends all coming out.

                                                       Epilogue

Nick Fury told Thanos that he was defeated and that now he would pay a terrible price which was his death. He continued telling him how he blipped away all of the Avengers and even his beloved friend Captain Marvel “and now u can’t do anything about it” saying that he was already aware of Thanos planning to destroy the stones and said the classic Avengers speech in front of all of them. Thanos said that now they will meet their demise before they all tried to obtain the Gauntlet and Quill grabbed it saying that he will use it to bring back Gamora and his other fallen comrades. However, Wanda arrived at the nick of time using her telekinesis to remove the Gauntlet from Quill and she putted it on her hand as the universe started glitching around them. Wanda walked to Thanos saying that he took away the only family she had and now she will have him back in another reality. Everyone ran to Wanda and Thanos used his last strength to obtain the Gauntlet. Everyone almost had it but it was already too late as Wanda immediately snapped creating a whole new reality with Vision, Loki, Gamora and the heroes who were blipped all brought back and Thanos had become into a better father for Gamora and Nebula…

                                                       THE END!

And that is going to be the Reverse Snap fan fiction. The story of what if the other half of heroes that survived in Infinity War had been the ones to be dusted away in an an alternate universe. This was a story asked and even told by many but I really wanted to do a true fan fiction with this topic and there will be something similar to this coming soon so be on the lookout for that and more what ifs coming soon. As some of you might know, one of the badges you can win during the Marvel Disability Celebration is the We Love Canon Badge. In order to do so, your creation must contain a canonically disabled character which you then represent in your work.

So to spark some inspiration, here is a list of Marvel characters (along with a little background and their disability).

James “Rhodey” Rhodes/War-Machine: Paraplegia. He suffered a spinal injury in Captain America: Civil War leaving him paralyzed from the waist down. He uses leg braces to walk.

Charles Xavier/Professor X: Paraplegia. Professor X is a wheelchair user. He appears as such in both the X-Men comics and movies. Depending on the universe, his legs are either crushed?? or he has a spinal cord injury from a stray bullet during X-Men: First Class.

Matt Murdock/Daredevil: Visual impairment. Matt Murdock is blind - an injury he suffered by radioactive materials when he was a child. He deals with depression in the comics. He appears in various adaptations of the comics such as f.e. the Netflix show ‘Daredevil’.

James “Bucky” Barnes/The Winter Soldier: Amputee. He is portrayed as such in some of the comics, animated series, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He has a prosthetic arm. In TFATWS he is in therapy.

Mercedes “Misty” Knight: Amputee. An explosion left her without a limb. Similar to the Winter Soldier, Misty has a bionic arm.

Steve Rogers/Captain America: Before Steve Rogers got the super soldier serum, he had various disabilities which differ according to various sources. Including rheumatic fever, scarlet fever, asthma, bone deformity/scoliosis, anaemia, heart trouble, colour blindness, partial deafness, having a limp due to polio.

Clint Barton/Hawkeye: Hearing impairment. In the comics (at least a portion of them), Clint is deaf. He uses hearing aid and sign language. Depending on the run, he lost his hearing because of a sonic arrow or had his eardrums destroyed.

Jubilation “Jubilee” Lee: In Wolverine #62 it was revealed that she has dyscalculia.

Eddie McDonough/Hornet: Eddie has Cerebral Palsy.

Maya Lopez/Echo: Hearing impairment.

Wade Wilson/Deadpool: Chronic pain. Terminally ill with cancer, he underwent an experimental treatment which caused physical deformities and chronic pain.

Dr. Steven Strange: After a car accident he’s left with permanent nerve damage in both of his arms.

Thor: Visual impairment. During the events of the movie Thor: Ragnarok he lost his right eye. In comics he’s implied to walk with a cane and have a prosthetic arm.

Nebula: She has all kinds of physical mutilations caused by her adoptive father - Thanos, as well as body parts replaced by mechanical ones.

Nick Fury: Visual impairment. He was scratched by Goose and lost sight in one eye. He wears an eye patch.

Jessica Jones: PTSD, depression, and alcoholism.

Peggy Carter: In Captain America: The Winter Soldier she is presented with Alzheimer’s disease.

Tony Stark/Iron-Man: He has a heart condition developed through the events of the first Iron Man movie. In comics he also deals with alcoholism.

Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic: Autism.

Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel: In the MCU Carol has memory loss throughout the Captain Marvel movie. In the comics she as well as Tony deals with alcoholism.

Marc Spector/Moon Knight: Dissociative identity disorder.

Ava Starr/Ghost: Chronic pain. Due to a quantum accident she suffered at a young age, the molecules in her body appear to be unstable, putting her through a constant battle with chronic pain.

Odin: Visual impairment. He has one eye.

While it is likely that several characters have mental illnesses, such as PTSD, based on symptoms they are shown to have, we couldn’t always find an official canon diagnosis of such and decided to exclude it from our list. Scotta

A little bit of oc lore - Scotta is from Nebulos, but she’s a hybrid of a Nebulan and a mysterious alien species. Pure blooded Nebulans are bald and bleed green-hazel blood, but she has hair and red-pink blood, which are inherited from her other species. Because of this, she was treated as an outcast during her time on Nebulos, before she met the Autobots. Because of this, “hairy,” “odd-blooded,” and especially “freak” are very derogatory for her.

She sounds like Sadie from Halo ODST.

Despite wearing purple, her favorite color is pink!

She loves entomology, astronomy, and botany, and she’s highly knowledgeable in all three fields. Her favorite bug is the butterfly, her favorite celestial feature is the nebula, and her favorite earth fruit is the strawberry! On an unrelated note, she’s allergic to coffee beans.

Glare

He and Scotta know each other, and are very close. He tries to be like a father figure to her.

His design is inspired by the nekomata of Japanese folklore: they are intelligent yet malevolent cat Yokai with two tails, who use the powers of pyromancy, necromancy, and shapeshifting to torment and/or kill humans. Cat wise, his appearance bears somewhat of a resemblance to a lynx.

His voice box will often emit a crackling or rumbling sound after certain sentences he says. This is because his voice box is slightly ruptured, causing his voice to sound less natural than normal.

While he might look big and scary, he’s got a soft spark underneath. He spends much of his time drawing and painting.

He’s a little over 50 feet tall.

Vix

They own two soundboards, which they can use one servo to play on.

Their real name is Deadbeat. On a similar note, they take heavy inspiration from the likes of Daft Punk, Shawn Wasabi, and Dedf1sh (splatoon 2).

They implanted a feature that allows them to tweak their voice box to sound differently, depending on if they want a more natural or artificial voice, a masculine or feminine voice, or anything in between. They primarily use this feature for voice samples that they put into their songs.

Whereas Drillburst’s musical themes are about pain and healing, Vix’s music tends to have a running theme of mind control, psychedelics, and hypnotism. This is inspired by the nigh-brainwashing actions done by the Senate during the golden age, as well as the phrase “you are being deceived.” As a follower of Decepticonism, these themes speak to them above all else.

Vix and Drillburst hang out often, and work on songs together. They’re probably his love interest. :)

Melody (FOWAU)

I don’t talk about her much!

Her real name isn’t Melody, but Sharon.

Before becoming Megan’s campaign manager, she was an assistant manager at a law firm, an assistant professor of civics at a university, a sales consultant, a librarian, and had a brief stint as a waitress, just to name a few. She’s been all over the place, and isn’t sure if she’s done with it yet.

She has an ex-husband who she will not stop thinking about, even though she knows it’s not good for her.

Knife throwing, axe throwing, gun practice… she’s surprisingly good at all three of them. She just can’t do it when she has a kid running around!

Melody was supposed to be a one shot one off character from the earliest fowau comic I drew, without a name or personality or backstory. However life finds a way XD

Billy and Teddy show up to the Hellfire Gala serving these hot and spicy Space Husband Looks...what do you do? In all honesty, one of our amazing followers asked us after last week’s comic: what would we dress Billy and Teddy in for the Hellfire Gala? We thought it’d be fun to give our take! Here, we see Billy, Wiccan, YOUR Demiurge, dressed in an actual nebula and glowing like a star. We were inspired by the redesign of Wiccan’s costume in Style vs Substance, where the suit has a moving, living nebula in it, but just exploded it out to be something that would turn every head in the room. This costume is brought to you 100% by Billy’s infinite power; not everyone could keep a nebula hovering perfectly around their body at all times. But if you could do it, why the heck wouldn’t you? Teddy is looking regal and hot in a McQueen SS’10 inspired outfit that has him serving Montero In Space vibes. If Colossus and Gambit are showing up abs out, then Teddy has to show what he’s got, too! We loved the idea of his piece tying in with Billy’s by using star/glitter fabric for the bulk of the pieces, with beautiful gold accents to go with it (mostly because gold on his green skin is just chef’s kiss). Along with gold eyeliner and beautiful navy lipstick, we thought adding make-up that nods to his skrull ancestry was also a fun addition to the piece. Oh, and maybe a couple more piercings than usual, just for some added sparkle… ;)

What I Thought About "What If...T'Challa Became a Star-Lord?" from Marvel Studios' What If...

Salutations, random people on the internet who already scrolled past this! I am an Ordinary Schmuck. I write stories and reviews and draw comics and cartoons!

You know, a lot of people lost so much when Chadwick Boseman died. His family has lost a husband and a father, his fans lost an inspiration, and to fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we lost both a hero and a king. His performance as T'Challa/Black Panther is by far the best the character has ever had, nailing the essence of the character while delivering so much more. So with the second episode of Marvel Studios' What If... one has to ask: Was Chadwick Boseman's final performance his best, or did the series failed to honor his legacy? Only spoilers can answer that question, so be wary as we analyze the second entry into Marvel's most ambitious series.

Now, let's review, shall we?

WHAT I LIKED

T’Challa himself: I enjoy that because his story has changed, so did T'Challa's personality. There's this sly cockiness that we've never seen from the character before, showing how much influence Yondu and his Ravagers had on him. And it's actually pretty fun seeing a character who was so calm and collected now act so...not that. With that said, just T'Challa is now Star-Lord, that doesn't mean he's a copy of Peter Quill.

The major differences lie in the impact that T'Challa left on the galaxy. Instead of stealing for himself, he chose to steal for planets in need as his own version of Robin Hood. And that, in turn, is a way more intriguing and compelling character to me than Peter Quill ever could be. There's just something about the nobleness of choosing to be a heroic outlaw instead of being strictly an outlaw. It proves that despite having his history altered drastically, there is no erasing that perfect and intelligent King that we all know and dearly miss. It sucks that we'll probably never see him again, but at least the last time we did it was to leave one epic impression for the fans.

Korath is T’Challa’s #1 Fan: Not what I would have expected, primarily since the character never acted so goofy, but I appreciate this change nonetheless. Because it's oddly wholesome seeing how much Korath admires T'Challa, to the point where he honestly believes that they're best friends. Also, it's funny. Like, really funny. In fact, I'd go so far as to say that this version of Korath is the funniest character in this episode. He's just too good.

It’s All Funny: Hey, we're on the Guardians of the Galaxy side of the universe. I'd personally be offended if it didn't have a sense of humor.

Yondu: Yondu seems to be the only one who hasn't changed that much through T'Challa's presence. Sure, he went straight because of it, but personality-wise, he's still the same. He still gives off the energy as this king of the idiots when dealing with his Ravagers, and you how he's this thief with a heart of gold. It's just that only T'Challa brought it out more than Peter did. Other than that, I personally don't mind that not much has changed. Yondu was already a fun character, to begin with, so I'm more than alright seeing him unaltered if it means we get to witness more of him.

The Galaxy is Better Because of T’Challa’s Influence: No, really, it is. Drax still has his family, Thanos renounced his genocidal ways, and Nebula not only remained in one piece but even has hair...somehow. It's impressive to see just how better everything turned out, and, in a way, it's also kind of funny when you think about it. Like, I wouldn't go so far as to say that the universe was in shambles because of Peter's existence...but it wasn't really better either, and I can't help my chuckles when witnessing how better off things were because he stayed on Earth.

Thanos: Not much to say here. It's fun seeing how chilled out Thanos is when he's not hellbent on wiping out half the universe. And I definitely chuckled a couple times when people called him out on his genocidal bulls**t. It's pretty enjoyable and made me glad we got to see his very surprising return.

Nebula: But this shocked me more. Korath becoming a T'Challa stan? Sure. Thanos acting as a respectful ally? Whatever. But Nebula becoming T'Challa's sexy thieve-in-arms girlfriend?! I don't think anybody in their right mind would have predicted that!

But putting aside the shock, this version of Nebula was surprisingly entertaining. It's nice seeing what she would've acted like without the tragedy as she acts like she's free as a bird but still a little devious. Although, despite having a much better life, that doesn't mean there isn't animosity between her and Thanos. He may not have torn Nebula apart as much as he did in the universe we know, but take notice of how she still has cybernetics in her left eye. That shows that T'Challa didn't get to fix everything, and I appreciate that the writers hadn't glossed over how much of a bad father the Mad Titan is, just because he's all sunshine and rainbows now. It allows a chance for Thanos to prove he really did change and gives Nebula an arc to forgive him. And while the pacing for that could have been better, it's still somewhat believable for me to get behind it. Thus surprising me even more with how not only did Nebula make a phenomenal appearance, but one that left quite the impact on the story.

The Collector: It's not just better heroes that T'Challa created. The Collector, for example, somehow became a genuine threat in this timeline instead of that pathetic dweeb in Guardians of the Galaxy and Avengers: Infinity War. This again amazes me with how T'Challa miraculously created a buff-supervillain in his universe, where Peter did jack all. Maybe the galaxy really would have been better off without him...

Howard the Duck: This is the best way to utilize Howard the Duck if you ask me. He's a character that doesn't really scream "leading character" to me (unless given the correct type of writers), so it's better to let him stick to brief cameos and occasional supporting roles. It allows a goofy type of character to shine without causing audiences to roll their eyes over the idea of a talking duck saving the day.

Wakanda Theme Playing when T’Challa Found the Ship: It's just a cool callback. That's all.

Yondu Lying About Wakanda’s Destruction: A pretty solid reveal that shows how even though Yondu loves the kids he steals, he doesn't have the best intentions. What more can I add?

The Collector’s Wall of Weapons: The callbacks are nice, but I like implications from seeing Captain America's shield and Thor's hammer on that wall. It could mean that while the universe is a better place from T'Challa's influence, not everybody made it out alright.

Yondu’s Speech to T’Challa: I'm sure these beautiful and sentimental words have some implications toward Chadwick Boseman as an actor, but I was too busy being emotional to notice them. Well done.

What Happened to Peter Quill: Ok...I think we can just stop beating Peter down for dooming half the universe. Because how much lower can you get when finding out that this other guy practically saved everything with very little effort, only for you to end up as a worker at Dairy Queen? I'd honestly feel bad if I kept doing it at this point. The poor bastard…

(Sidenote: Love the implications that the world is still in danger because Ego still gets to Peter. It shows that despite the more interesting changes, not everything turns out all hunky-dory.)

The Tribute to Chadwick Boseman: A well-appreciated sentiment to cap off a perfect episode...or what would've been a perfect episode. 'Cause ya boy's got some nitpicks!

WHAT I DISLIKED

T’Challa Being Called Star-Lord: A small thing, but the reason why Peter called himself Star-Lord was because it was a nickname his mom called him. What's even the reasoning here? Because it makes no sense when you sit down and think.

The Black Order are still Boring: Out of all the improvements we've seen, it is still disappointing that these four remain as nothing more than cannon fodder for our heroes to go through before fighting the main boss. And pathetic. Immensely pathetic. I mean, for f**ks sake, THE MAW GOT KILLED BY THE PINK GIRL FROM GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY! Psychic powers and he still goes out like a b**ch!

Thanos Got Nerfed: The guy nearly killed the Avengers, with and without Infinity Stones, yet he can barely hold his own against these people who worked for him. C'MON NOW!

IN CONCLUSION

But those were just nitpicks. Despite them, I'd still consider this episode a solid A with 9.5/10. It was fun getting to see the changes T'Challa made to the galaxy, added with some pretty entertaining moments with other iconic characters. You couldn't have asked for a better final performance from Chadwick Boseman, and here's hoping that wherever he is, he knows that he shined brighter than any star in the galaxy.

I did Jason, so here’s Nebula! Just a heads up I’m basing this on the cartoon & MCU versions bc I haven’t read enough of the comics to have a solid opinion.

((Send me a character I have been known to write about for/have several headcanons about/who I do AU stuff with & I’ll answer these questions!))

One thing I came up with for them that turned out to be kinda canon or at least has canon evidence to support it:

I always liked the thought of her becoming one of the Guardians and getting a new look. Specifically I had wanted Peter to give her a red jacket, one of his or something, and in Endgame her outfit is red leather, as if it’s made of the stuff he left behind in Infinity War.

One thing I came up with for them that I refuse to change no matter how OOC it may seem:

That she has a playlist of her favorite songs on whatever device they’ve got lying around, but she won’t admit she likes music at all.

Their government assigned theme song:

Something about them barely explored in canon that I expanded on:

Fluff with her and Gamora. Why does canon continually make them suffer? They deserve better!

I don’t do a whole lot of post-IW and Endgame content, but when I do I always let Nebula kill Thanos, or her and Gamora do it together. They deserve that much.

1. Fictional universe you’d like to move to for one day?

- I wanna say One Piece bc that really sounds like fun...but my luck I’d be placed in some village that’s being oppressed by a tyrant or some shit and I’d be miserable lmao. But maybe Luffy and co would come save us and I could befriend them?? Just being able to meet One Piece characters would be cool to me. Other than One Piece, maybe Naruto??? Ninjas are hella cool and the Leaf Village seems like a very comfy and homey place to live. Or having quirks in a My Hero Academia world... Idk I’m only thinking of animes rn for some reason lol this is a tough question!

2. Favorite book/comic book/manga/etc.?

- Oooh, book is tough because I actually don’t read as much as I’d like...The Twilight series will always hold a special place in my heart. Gone Girl is also really good! For manga, that’s easy - One Piece, simply because I’ve yet to read any other manga lol

3. Favorite astral object (for example: star/constellation/planet)?

- I think nebulae are really cool! Even the word is neat-sounding. They’re so pretty and the idea of a star nursery just sounds so ethereal! 🌌

4. What do you like to do for relax after a stressful day?

- Cuddle with my kitties and nap, for sure. Snack on some junk food lol peruse tumblr and other social media.

5. Your first fictional crush?

- I’m really embarrassed by this...but...Max Goof from the Goofy movies 🥴

6. Superpower you’d like to have?

- Oooh another tough question. Hmmm either teleportation (gah I’m so lazy lol) or something related to animals. Like being able to talk to them, mimicry, anything like that!

7. Foreign languages you speak/would like to speak?

- I was really interested in (and decent at) Spanish throughout high school and college. - I always go back and forth between wanting to live in a suburb type place, just so my future children could have other kids in the neighborhood to grow up and play with and I like the idea of neighbors and get togethers, but I also love the idea of living somewhere more distant. Pushed off from the busy streets and in the woods maybe? Either way, I’d also love to live close to the water! Whether that be a lake or beach or river. A house on the lake would be nice but...no teacher makes enough money for that 🤪

- I don’t have any and I would love to get one some day! I’m just so indecisive so it’ll probably never happen lmao. Not to mention a visible tattoo could potentially threaten my occupation. 🙃

- Graduating college and becoming a teacher! I’m the first college graduate in my family, so it’s really exciting. I hope I’ve set a good example for my younger siblings!

Hello, we’re gonna talk about Bucky Barnes. I know, shocker. A totally new concept for which I have never written the likes of before. (Oof, I sound like Elizabeth Bennet. Neat!) As well as the beautiful and inspiring Agent Margaret ‘Peggy’ Carter. (Yeah, I put her full name and not Bucky’s cuz y’all already know how much I admire him.)

We all have our opinions on the latest and last Avengers movie Endgame. Whether it be that Tony shouldn’t have died. Natasha shouldn’t have died. Peter Parker and Nebula should’ve been adopted by Tony Stark. All popular opinions and theories and reasonably acceptable alternate endings. (Personally, I agree with all of these and I’m genuinely upset that the actors contracts ended on that note.) Now the opinion that has become the main topic for this post is the ever-so-popular argument on the ending for the former Captain America, Steve Rogers. No, I’m not talking about giving his shield, mantle, and title over to his friend and teammate Sam Wilson. I actually think this was a smart move on the directors part, if a little untimely. Sam would’ve always been Captain America, though he would’ve had to wait until Bucky got his turn. I’m getting off course and y’all have to deal with that, sorry. Anyway, I’m talking about Steve going to replace the stones and staying in the past.

It was cute. It was, truly. Hero gets the girl and all that jazz. And it would’ve even made sense, if not for the obvious. The obvious being that Steve’s ending did not in any way capture the story of his life. Or Peggy’s. He was so incredibly selfish that his actions would’ve ruined his characters if not for other factors. He disrupted the entirety of her life. Peggy founded S.H.I.E.L.D. Peggy Carter got married. Peggy Carter had children. Peggy Carter had a fulfilling career and life. She died of old age surrounded by the people who loved and admired her the most. Hell, she even got to ease the guilt and sadness caused by Steve Rogers’ supposed death. Not many people get to say that. She was a wonderful and amazing woman. Not to mention a feminist icon. All of it, nearly her entire life was undone by one dumbass she kissed once. Just once. Yes, she missed him, wished it could’ve been something more, maybe even fantasized on what could’ve been a few times. But she was content, happy. She didn’t deserve having her path screwed up and her family blown out of existence. Especially not to the man who kissed her niece just days after her funeral. The disrespect. (If you ship Steve and Sharon, that’s on you.) Peggy probably never even knew that Bucky was still alive, if Steve told her along with what happened to Bucky, I’d like to believe that she sure as shit pitched a fit to Steve about his idiocy. Because who the hell abandons their best friend, their brother, in a world where they are either hated or constantly misunderstood. I know, I just know, that if there was a way to send Steve back, she would’ve. For Bucky’s sake, if nothing else. But there wasn’t and Peggy Carter is nothing if not a reasonable and thoughtful woman.

She knows that Bucky can handle it. We all do. But he shouldn’t have to do it alone. He deserves more than that. Yeah, he has Sam. But, in the movies, Sam is shown to barely tolerate Bucky, sometimes aligning with him to save the world whenever the situation calls for it. I love the Stackie friendship. I think it’s great, honestly. But we have to remember that canonically, Sam just doesn’t like Bucky that much. And he has every right not to. Regardless of the brainwashing, Bucky did try to kill Sam on multiple occasions. And Sam wouldn’t be Sam if he just forgave him, even if Bucky did apologize for his actions and tried to make amends. And, yes, in the FATWS trailer they appear to be friends or at the very least friendly. But there is over a year-and-a-half distance between Endgame and FATWS, giving them plenty of time to get better acquainted as more than frenemies and on-and-off allies. But I’m not talking about in the near future, I’m talking about post-Endgame, where they haven’t quite gotten that far. There’s camaraderie there, which is good, but I felt that, realistically, it only exists because they both know that they’re gonna be stuck together for a while and know better, know that they have to make the most of the situation.

Honestly, it makes the entirety of the Captain America storyline, where it is explicitly stressed that Steve and Bucky are close friends who’d do just about anything for each other, a moot point. I’m not trying to offend the Stucky shippers, really. Stucky makes more sense that Steve and Sharon anyway. I’m just referring to the fact that Steve and Bucky aren’t a canon couple in the sense that they were never specifically written as one. (And I stg that if they follow up on the rumors that say that Bucky and Sharon will be a couple, the producers and directors and story writers will be catching my fucking hands.) It just doesn’t make any sense that Steve would spend so much time mourning Bucky, constantly implying how much he needs Bucky in his life, then doing everything and anything to ensure Bucky’s safety only to leave him for the first woman who ever looked at him in interest. Especially since it usually takes less than a year to get over a crush and homie had over seventy years, nearly ten of those where he could have consciously gotten over her. But with Bucky, he might not have had a lot of time with him, but it was always supposed to have meant that he would have waited for his friend to get better. Bucky wasn’t dying, Bucky wasn’t about to leave him behind. If anything, Bucky was just as eager to get better so he could reconnect with the only person who could even marginally understand him and his trauma. (Natasha could have, too, but they killed her, so...) The only people who even like Bucky are Shuri and T’Challa, who re-dubbed him as the White Wolf. (In the comics, the White Wolf was the adoptive brother of the Black Panther, so T’Challa and Shuri and Mother Queen Ramonda straight up adopted Bucky Barnes into the royal family. This is based on the rumors that Bucky will be replacing Hunter as the White Wolf in the MCU.)

Point is that Steve left Bucky behind, their friendship being a main plot point in all of the Captain America movies, and it makes no sense and makes it seem like their friendship meant nothing when Steve went back to Peggy. Hopefully, they can remedy this in FATWS by making old Steve a kind of mentor to the new Captain America and a sort of guidance towards Bucky. Steve’s entire personality was his compassion, consideration, and commitment to the people he cared about and his morals which he is often bull-headed about. I love Steve Rogers. Captain America is one of my favorite superheroes. Chris Evans portrayed this character perfectly and really brought the character to life. But what the fuck was that ending. All I’m saying-she says after like four paragraphs-is that they could’ve done worse.

Steven Universe Comic #28 (2019) - Outline & Review

The twenty-eighth installment of the ongoing comic series for Steven Universe concludes the story of Lars and the Off-Colors as they face their biggest fears under the influence of hallucinogenic nebula gases. . . .

Plot:

Stevonnie is risking gas exposure to find out what's wrong with their friends deep in space in the middle of a nebula. Lars and the crew are catatonic, in the thrall of horrible visions caused by hallucinogens, and Stevonnie takes over the spaceship controls while analyzing the effects of this gas. As the visions take Lars away, he imagines apologizing to Sadie for everything he did wrong when he failed to save her and got kidnapped, and she convinces him that his mistakes have led to a stronger version of him whose crew is depending on him.

Through his discussion with the hallucinated version of Sadie, Lars realizes that his baking used to be something he did for himself and then mutated into something he did to impress others, which is why it ended up coupled with so much dread when it was no longer about food and fun and friends. To be there for the Off Colors, his crew, and using his talents to provide something needed is so much better than using them aggressively to show off. After bidding Sadie goodbye, Lars goes off to find the rest of the crew, and runs into Padparadscha.

Padparadscha's special insight allows her to inform Lars that they're all hallucinating and Stevonnie is on board. A cut to Stevonnie shows they're piloting the ship out of the nebula and capturing some gas to use for fuel. Lars and Padparadscha run to find the rest of the crew, but soon they find the nebula seems to be consciously redoubling efforts to keep them in its clutches. Obstacles they've already faced have returned.

Soon enough they've reconnected with Rhodonite and the Rutile Twins, who report what they've been through in their own nightmare world. Lars uses his latest revelation about the others depending on him as captain to reassure them and motivate them to find Fluorite. They encounter her in her impossible vision of being tried by the Diamonds and threatened with unfusion, and they all agree that they're not experiencing reality. Now they've got to find the way out and back to their right minds. They're ready to face their fears.

The phantom versions of the Off Colors find their bodies, and based on Padparadscha's earlier experience of awakening her body by touching it, they all try to reestablish contact with their bodies.

It seems to work and Stevonnie is welcoming them back, but before they know it, they're facing Emerald, who has boarded the ship somehow and is gloating and confronting them.

The crew bands together with Stevonnie and bravely fights Emerald; even those who aren't really fighters (like Padparadscha) get into the action. But once it becomes clear that Emerald is happy to destroy the interior of her ship to fight them, Lars realizes they're still hallucinating, because there's no way she'd do that. (She's also even bigger than Fluorite in the fight, for maximum intimidation.) For the nebula to be trying this hard to keep them, Stevonnie must be close to their goal. As long as they fixate on the scene not being real and trust Stevonnie to get them out of the nebula, they believe they'll be fine.

The crew begins to wake up as soon as Stevonnie pilots the ship out of the nebula. Stevonnie unfuses and Steven and Connie greet the reviving Off Colors. Everyone's jazzed that they made it--but what about threats of Emerald still following them? That's still a realistic possibility, even if their collective vision of her was not.

But Steven and Connie have great news: Stevonnie could track Emerald, who went around the nebula instead--and it's a long journey. Meanwhile, they stole nebula gas that can be separated into useful fuel without exposing them to the poisonous part. But that's not all! Steven and Connie came bearing gifts, including a potluck invitation with the Cool Kids and Sadie to catch up on all the space adventures. Lars is ready for all of this--and he has a sweet message for Sadie as well. He can't wait to catch a show.

Notable:

1. This comic feels like wish fulfillment for some of us who really wanted some unresolved issues from the show to be addressed. Lars and Sadie shippers should be happy to see Lars finally apologize to Sadie for not trying to save her, and having her understand.

2. There's an adorable flashback of young Lars learning to bake and sharing hopia with his family. Another traditional dish from his Filipino cultural background.

3. There's a really odd exchange between Lars and Padparadscha where she makes an observation, he asks if it's a vision, and she says no, she's just stating the obvious. And Lars says sometimes he can't tell. This is strange because in the show Padparadscha always behaves as though she is oblivious to the fact that her predictions are things that have already happened. The self-awareness she continues to display here is a comics-only thing.

4. Stevonnie comments that the Sun Incinerator is actually pretty easy to pilot, like the Star Skipper--but "oh, wait, I sort of crashed that." Aw, Stevonnie! That wasn't your driving's fault! You literally got shot down!

5. At one point Stevonnie comes up with the idea to suck nebula gas into the ship so it can be used for fuel. A button labeled "SUCTION" is shown on the dashboard. In the show they've been good about not having English writing on Gem artifacts, so this seemed out of place.

6. I'm not sure why the urgency on "getting back to their bodies" before Stevonnie flies out of the nebula. It seemed like an arbitrary worry; why would they have to hallucinate that they touched their own bodies and reinhabited their physical selves to be able to emerge from the nebula mentally intact? It didn't work incredibly well as a tactic for increasing tension to be honest.

7. There's a face-off-against-Emerald group shot of Stevonnie with the Off Colors and it's fairly epic, but on top of that there are a bunch of references to the episode "Lars of the Stars," where they point out that they've clashed with her before and won.

8. Since they specify that the nebula is "trying" to keep them inside by throwing more and more nightmarish visions of their worst fears at them, I guess the comic is implying that the nebula is alive and sentient. Well that's disturbing. What was it supposed to want?

9. In one scene they used the Off Colors' established character traits very well to push the exposition along: Rhodonite expresses her typical worrywart fear about Emerald finding them, and Fluorite offers tech nerdery, saying Emerald could track the signature of their thrusters. Great!

10. I gotta admit I have my doubts that Stevonnie could somehow figure out how to use alien technology to separate gases and create usable fuel for a Gem vessel. I could believe they can drive the ship since weirdly competent driving is an established Stevonnie skill, but this honestly does not seem to come from any established aspect of their character, despite that Connie can be nerdy with her book learning. I would've liked to see someone else who knows more about the technology, like Fluorite, come up with this idea or inspire Stevonnie to try it.

Future Star Fox Game Predictions

I could probably write an essay about what I’d like to see in a SF game but I ain’t got time for that, so here’s some predictions for what we might see because I like predictions/speculation.  A lot of this is built off of what we’ve already gotten and what feels like the natural progression from where we are at.  All of this is, of course, assuming Star Fox Grand Prix isn’t happening (I’m... very torn on how I feel about everything to do with that but that’s for another day):

I’m going to start this off with what feels semi obvious: Star Fox 2 will have its influence in this game. I definitely do not think it’s coincidence that they happened to release Star Fox 2 when they did.  Having recently replayed every route of the original Star Fox for the SNES, it’s become pretty obvious that while a lot of the game was a homage to Star Fox 64, arguably more of it was a homage to the original Star Fox.  I actually think that the reason Star Fox 2 came out is because they plan on making a game that would similarly follow Star Fox Zero in a way that Star Fox 2 was to follow the original Star Fox.  The only other reason I could see them releasing SF2 was to be like “Oh hey, this is where the Walker is from!” but... it feels a bit redundant because Zero had already been out for awhile.  

The game will have Miyu and Fay.  They’re fan favorites and with Star Fox 2 being formally released, I think this is just about as good of a time as any to reintroduce them to the modern games.

The Walker will stay in the game.  It would be kind of weird if it didn’t, tbh, as the function is built into the Arwings.

There will be different types of Arwings a la Command/Star Fox 2 style.  This seems to be the direction a lot of the older developers wanted to take with the series and I think it’s something that will come back because the concept is pretty neat and it adds gameplay diversity.  I don’t think these styles of Arwing will necessarily be tied to an individual character but you will have character stats and vehicle stats that interact together to make a variety of gameplay styles that can appeal to a broad spectrum of people.

Dash Bowman and/or Andross will be the main villain.  Many people will be annoyed but it’ll happen but will feature a different enough gameplay so there will be less complaining than when Zero got announced.  The primary scenario will be Venom vs Corneria.  Dash Bowman appeared in SSBU as a spirit that could be collected in World of Light-- which was very, very odd given that even Bill and Katt were not spirits and they’re much more well-known.  I think it was a subtle hint that they planned on using that character in the future.  Granted, in Star Fox Zero, you face off against a mechanized version of Andross and although the final chase in the tunnel afterwards is very similar to Star Fox 64′s final dash through the tunnel, I kind of question if Andross really died because it... didn’t really seem like it was actually Andross (my opinion, of course, I could be mistaken) that was chasing him so much as just a robot.  I think it’s possible we’ll see Andross again in this installation or possibly a vengeful Dash Bowman, since it feels somewhat likely that Nintendo was going to use him as a way to put the 64 timeline back on the course that they wanted, with Corneria fighting Venom.

Katt and Bill will be present.  They will function similar to how they did before but will be unlockable pilots in multiplayer.

Multiplayer will be a thing.  It will be similar to Assault’s with online functionality.  It will be fairly well-liked by fans but probably won’t have many resources built into it. (I’m not saying I want this, this is my predictions, remember.)

There will be a mix of corridor levels and all-ranged mode levels, mixed in with some vehicle hopping.  You will be able to choose various vehicles to fly on missions.  Sometimes you will have to progress through the main campaign and then go back after unlocking new vehicles.  Playing in different vehicles will award different types of medals and getting all the medals will unlock cosmetic stuff like sunglasses for Fox.  People will compare the game to a blend of Assault and SF64.  

Alternative to the one above: The gameplay will function very similarly to Star Fox 2. The only reason I’m thinking it might not is because of Starlink being so similar to that.  I think Nintendo would take one look at that and decide against it to avoid feeling repetitive.

There will be different characters to play as.  Another feature coming in from Star Fox 2 and Command.  You will have a select group of characters to pick from, with certain ones being available for certain missions (Fox will be playable at all times because he’s main character).  Choosing whatever character will give you dialogue alterations and different banter.

The game will feature the actual destruction of Andross and his Empire as well as Andrew and Pigma being booted from the Star Wolf team.  People really love to hate these two (for some reason, I don’t get it) and Nintendo is notorious for doing obvious bad things to their “obviously bad guy characters” so I see that happening probably at the end as some comic relief.  I actually think that they’ll bring Panther back at some point, but not in this game. This will set up for a similar scenario as Assault where Wolf and Leon are the only two remaining original members.  Panther will be brought back later on.  Andrew will probably be reduced back to meme status and made into a secondary villain, similar to Pigma.  I will be sad at the wasted character potential but will be happy because at least we got a new Star Fox game.  And I will probably make posts about it.

The game will have throwbacks galore, which will annoy some people and make others happy.  Said throwbacks will be mostly returning enemies.  I feel like Goras has a pretty high chance of coming back-- just a gut feeling.  I was pretty surprised when it didn’t make it into Zero and we got the Dune reference instead.

Krystal... will at least be referenced, if not make a minor appearance.  I’m actually kind of iffy on this and could see it going either way.  I could see her showing up as an easter egg or even as a side character for a level, just to get fans hyped because it’s pretty obvious she’s well known and well loved (even though she has all those haters, she has oodles and oodles of fans too).  I could also see them waiting to reintroduce her until later but I kind of question that at this point since it’s been ages since she’s been in an actual game (and she’s popular) and they don’t seem like they’re in a rush to make SF games.  

The game will take place fairly immediately after Star Fox Zero, with a gap to fill in where Starlink could’ve possibly happened.  I’m really torn if Nintendo will acknowledge Starlink as canon or not.  I’m leaning towards the idea that they will just “no comment” when asked about it and just wave it off as “if you want it to be, sure”.  There will then be another war about what even is canon anymore.  Nintendo will shrug and take our money because we’ll all buy the new SF game anyways.

We will see the standard planets along with some “new” planets.  I definitely see Corneria, Venom, Fichinia, Titania, and Fortuna making a return but I could also see them adding back in some SF64 planets like Aquas and Katina.  I wouldn’t be surprised if they threw in Eladard or even Papetoon, too, just to add a new location.  Sector X, Y, or Z also mysteriously comes back and we never talk about the random nebulae from Zero again and people get confused but it’s okay because what even is consistency lmao

Someone will inevitably change eye color again and my money is on Wolf.

That’s about all I have for predictions.  I got inspired to do this after listening to a few Youtubers try to predict Nintendo’s 2020 announcements.  I thought maybe a SF prediction list would be kind of fun?  If you have any predictions/theories, don’t hesitate to share!  I love hearing stuff like this.
