But for door answering purposes, think of it as similar to putting on pants.

If your doorbell rings and you're not wearing pants, you probably want to grab some pants before you answer the door. If for some reason you have no pants within reach, you may have an awkward moment. You may even get a situation that has comedic potential! Possibly something you would go so far as to make a joke or a funny video about.
