Last thing I googled: some routes and locations in the place where i’m currently having a vacation. went to the beach today, and now i can say that i’ve had a swim in all the four oceans on planet Earth.

Dream trip: huh whuh anywhere abroad because due to political status quo i cannot leave the country and probably wouldn’t be able to for some time. so my record of 20 countries has ceased for now. but if i imagine the better future i’d certainly visit Vienna again, it’s a miracle, and after that i’d visit my European friends.

Something I want: i dream to do nothing but art, to make a living from art. no idea how to achieve that yet. also i’d like to work on important stuff much more than rn and for my mental health to allow me to do that.

Currently reading: Corrections by Jonathan Franzen. he actually uses impersonal sentences so i was like 🤔 so i can use them too? i was refraining from them in my english writing because to my knowledge every english sentence has to have a predicate. but if Mr.Franzen uses these, why can’t i?

Last song: Oxxxymiron - Нон-Фикшн 🤷‍♀️

Last series: oh i watched that The Bear series, started because it was all over my tumblr dash. INCREDIBLE, just great, especially that elliptical plot composition where all the things that the character ignored in the beginning come back to ensure his salvation/reawakening in the end. and yeah ofc Jeremy Allen White 🤤

Last movie: The Third Murder by Hirokazu Kore-eda. i started with his Shoplifters (those who read my WIP fic know why) and the director’s style was love at first sight so i resumed learning his filmography.

Sweet/spicy/savory: savory, but actually whatever, i wish eating didn’t exist

Currently working on: well yeah my infant son Disintegration, a Tokyo Revengers fanfic, that’s it for now. it gives me great pleasure, especially since i take my time trying different patterns of episode build-up/scene size/chapter composition, though the most interesting episodes to write are only about to come. like, my favorite scene is planned for chapter 8 in the first draft. i’m mad & sad that it takes more than a week to make a chapter, but well, the trick is that i rewrite every scene three times in order have it solid, so if achieving faster pace means sacrificing some quality - no can do, my perfectionism holds me hostage

“you can do better than that kuroko,” aomine taunted as he swung his sword at the smaller man.

kuroko didn’t respond but instead went for a sharp jab which aomine dodged with ease. the momentum of the move carried him to the ground where aomine easily pinned him down.

kuroko was huffing, obviously tired from all the sparring. aomine noticed and suggested they call it a day.

“no. one more round,” kuroko responded, a glint in his eye.

with a smirk, aomine helped him off the ground and got into fighting stance.

“as you wish, my prince.”

thus the two continued sparring as they usually did. when it got too dark to see they finally stopped and went back. the prince to his chambers and his knight to the showers.

warmth. that was what kuroko felt when he got into the bath the maids had prepared for him. it was also what he felt when he was around his trusted knight but of course, that was a different warmth. the warmth of the water was only physical, touching his skin and making his blood run faster. the warmth of aomine however, filled his heart. it radiated throughout his body and made him whole and complete and full. the water’s warmth could never compare.

lessons in the morning, court sessions in the afternoon, and happiness in the evening. this was the life kuroko knew. for years it’s been this way. nothing stays the same forever though… happiness was bound to be stripped away from those who treasured it too much.

“the kingdom of rakuzan has decreed war on us your highness. their armies are gathering at the eastern borders as we speak. their numbers far greater than what we have...

if we don’t send reinforcements to the east immediately, there may be no hope for us.”

and his happiness, the time spent sparring with aomine, aomine himself, was now being taken away.

cold. was the palace always this cold? was the grassy hills that laid by its surroundings always this cold?

“how goes the war in the east general momoi?”

the general paused, hesitation clear on her face.

“its… its not going very well your highness…”

the summer sun shone feverishly on the land and yet, it was still dark. still dark and so very cold.

“i see.”

fighting was all aomine knew how to do. all his life he’s trained to be a knight, and once he did become one, he trained to be the best. there wasn’t anything he particularly liked about being a knight. he did enjoy fighting though, especially when it came to opponents who were strong.

being a knight was more than fighting. aomine knew this. yet, the only thing that kept him going was the clang of his sword against his enemy’s and the dance they took as they struck and evaded in deadly manner.

in this war though, it wasn’t the thrill of the fight that kept aomine going. it was the cold emptiness within him and the hope that warmth might once fill him again.

✥﹥━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━﹤✥

words weren’t exchanged much among the two. there just wasn’t anything to say. but when their eyes met among the sea of metal, grime, and blood, no words needed to be said. the relief worn on their faces was enough.

relief, like happiness, doesn’t last.

✥﹥━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━﹤✥

the moment aomine saw the familiar hue of light-sky hair and the deep, unwavering eyes that accompanied it, a fire ignited inside him.

in the mess that was the warzone of his heart, aomine now had one purpose and one purpose only - to protect.

and protect he did. not one arrow nor sword came into the young prince’s path. not even a speck of dirt so much as made it past the monster of a knight he had protecting him.

the fire raged.

more enemies were cut down than there were incoming. at this rate, the battle should soon be settled.

when the dust settled and the roaring of the battle quieted to a whisper, most of the rakuzan knights lay unmoving on the ground. those that could move, pleaded for mercy and retreated back to their camp. one however, didn’t have the energy to retreat. he did have enough energy for one last strike though.

aomine turned to give his prince a wide grin which kuroko acknowledged with a small smile of his own. a second later, there was a sword protruding from aomine’s chest.

✥﹥━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━﹤✥

the last strike is often the most painful, but as the sword was pulled out from his chest, aomine still bore the wide grin he gave his prince.

the fire calmed into a small flame that flickered in the winds.

“kuroko,” the fallen knight whispered as his prince rushed to his side. “i’m sorry…”

with that the flame died, leaving behind an eternal winter that froze the prince’s heart.

anyway aokuro but aomine always makes himself smaller around tetsu in some way, like he will hunch to be more reachable and always lean down a lil, sometimes propping his chin on kuroko’s head or shoulder and pulls himself into a fetal position when he sits with him,,,,, normally he throws himself down and takes up as much space as he so wishes to but he’s just so much more humble around him

I loved the juxaposition of Teiko being this really prestigious school that everyone envies but it churns out just absolutely fucked up children lmao. ‘We always win’. You fucked up a perfectly good kid is what you did. Look at them! They have depression. Also, the first line about the “vow” is very fitting for Ogiwara + Kuroko, and Kuroko’s feelings of inadequacy when it comes to being stuck in the third string.

But especially Kuroko prior to joining the Teiko team, imo. He feels very helpless in his efforts to climb the ranks of the team, but keeps at it anyway. Then he gets a little tease from Akashi + Aomine about what Kuroko can potentially become… ‘Rise up to your ability,’ indeed.

Being swept up in the moment and blinded by the promise of success…yeah, I think that happens to our poor baby. But this is definitely one of the more positive songs on the playlist. I could see this being like Aomine and/or Akashi making the promise to Kuroko that he can do much more and Kuroko being the one to jump at the chance for companionship and notoriety.

Hard Times | Paramore

Where do I go? Gimme some sort of sign You hit me with lightning! Maybe I'll come alive

This song’s deceptively peppy beat can almost distract from the bleak lyrics, which I think is very fitting for the Miracles. I think this is a fitting theme for when Kuroko is “coming down” from the high of being on a team that always wins. He’s among the first to realize there’s a problem with the team’s methods and attitudes. Not to mention notice how unhappy everyone seems suddenly.

Over My Head (Cable Car) | The Fray

And suddenly, I've become a part of your past I'm becoming the part that don't last I'm losing you and it's effortless

For when Kuroko’s feeling outnumbered by the Miracles’ change in attitudes and unsuccessful in breaking them out of their haze. I also imagine the “she” the singer speaks of is Momoi. Kuroko worries about keeping the Miracles together but struggles with the responsibility. The thought of disappointing Momoi - who spoke of wanting to “always be together” - along with the reality of losing all of the Miracles, is crushing and overwhelming to Kuroko.

Jumper | Third Eye Blind

And your friends have left you, you've been dismissed I never thought it would come to this And I, I want you to know Everyone's got to face down the demons Maybe today, you could put the past away

Remember the aokuro playlist? This is the song I cut from it. I think it’s just such a good fit for the aokuro dynamic - with the “jumper”/”the angry boy a bit too insane” being Aomine and Kuroko being the friend who is pleading with them. Aomine kinda dives off the deep end (metaphorically) and we see Kuroko struggling to bring him back to himself (unsuccessfully, during their Teiko days). It’s one of my favorite songs and I think it just so happens to work with aokuro really well. And the singer sounding so angry and sad and desperate is a plus, because that’s definitely Kuroko in this situation. But it could be taken as more platonic than it is “romantic”, which is why I decided to save it for this playlist.

Drown | Seafret

Haha. Oof. Pretty self explanatory, this one.

Angry Kuroko. That is all. JK. Yeah, Kuroko, despite how dejected he seems in canon, I just know is pissed over what happened to Ogiwara. This song I think is perfect for Kuroko officially rejecting the Miracles values - namely Akashi’s. I imagine the “other” Akashi is the one Kuroko is addressing in this song.

Shadow of the Day | Linkin Park

Sometimes beginnings aren't so simple Sometimes goodbye's the only way

And the sun will set for you The sun will set for you

Despite the obvious choice of this song having “shadow” in the title, I think it’s a good fit for Kuroko post-Teiko. He accepts the Miracles’ decision to all go to different high schools, but only because he knows that beating them all at their own game, one-by-one, is his only way of getting through to them.

The First Days of Spring | Noah And The Whale

But I'll come back to you In a year or so And rebuild, ready to become The person you believed in The person that you used to love

KnB begins in the spring so I was thrilled to have a song that reflected the series’ theme of new beginnings in new school years. The song “Blue Skies” by this same band was also a contender for this playlist, but I decided to cut it since I think this song is a better ending point (bc of those themes I mentioned).

Hi, I want to ask you a few questions. It's about KNB. I know this was a few years ago but i still miss them. Before Akashi appeared, did you ship other pairings? I mean, some pairings other than Akakuro. Probably, Kagakuro, Aokuro, etc. And then between Akashi and Kuroko, who do you love the most? And why? Thanks ヾ(＾-＾)ノ

Oh, hey love! Yeah, I miss them too always you know that haha I keep thinking about the "this is not the end of KNB" and hopelessly wish for Teiko times extra lmao but I know it'll never happen lol

The only other ship I have in KNB is midotaka (also fell for them only in s3), never shipped Kuroko with anyone before Akashi appeared (actually at first thought that I won't have any ships at all in this anime), I do not see where was there anything besides friendships. Esp Aomine or Kagami, who just do not give me any gay or bi vibes at all after all the materials, and with Kuroko its all so bro-bro to them, that I can't imagine that.

And tbh I need too much stuff for me to start shipping someone, so in most stuff I do not get where it's coming from or just don't care. It takes a lot for me to care haha. Multishipping I also do not get, bc to me shipping is about wanting someone to end up together and when you don't care with whom, it means you... don't ship anything really haha. So what's with Kuroko gangbanging everyone who's not even sways there or interested I would never get. Also someone pls name smth that could be interpreted as romantic in any of those ships? Cause I fail to see it.

Lol how did you not get after my vids, who I love most???? I thought I was obvious ;) I adore them both, I think they're incredible characters really, but you know me, Akashi is my everything, I mean, I even have a cat named Akashi who is also a sweetheart xD As to why, oi, the list can go on forever. I just think he has an incredible character strength, but also despite all the bad things that happened, he's the kindest soul who buys his teammates mom lipstick, saves babies and in general surprisingly the most compationate sweet and reliable soul in GOM, been said by many. He's just everything I like tbh. I mean, at first I just fell for his incredible brain (I love them smart) and badassness ofc, but I wasn't too into him, even though I from the beginning cracked the exterior as usual, but when I got to know all of them, it was just impossible not to love him. He's also one of those who can seemingly do everything and help everyone and in ppl's opinion has to do stuff bc everyone expects it from him and is like "well of course he can, he's Akashi" and bc he never shows how hard it is or whines, everyone thinks its easy even tho it never is like for example his born physical stats are like Kuroko's level haha. It's how he helps silently and doesn't ask for anything in return and how mature he is. I mean the GOM trip abroad still T_T

I also love those who are confident and knows how to have fun. Like while others fight over who puts on a dress in a pair as if it's somehow would hurt their masculinity or smth, he's rocking red-riding hood costume, proudly letting Kuroko be his wolf haha. He's putting idiots in place by playing a simple rock paper scissors game, being a fox and winking his bf at the same time. He's.. perfect. And he's also like a man, not a boy, which is also very rare. I mean his state of mind, not the fact that he's been through a lot, it's seen in some silly things; it's hard to explain, but I think some would get what I mean :)

Would've never guessed actually just how loving he is, but I knew there had to be a reason as to why GOM respected and loved him so much and why his team's biggest scare was about him hurting yourself. I at first tbh thought it was more like a power thing, not the fact that they truly adore him. But then turned out that he's like the sweetheart that all of his neibourhood adores and then with all the sweet things he casually does, I was like "omfg you cannot be serious". So he's for sure my fav in KNB yes. What's not to love? xD

Kuroko I love too for other reasons. That's cause he's a sneaky little ass who pretends to be angelic (also my fav type) xD

4) - First impression of each other? Was it love at first sight?

As we know, Aomine was, at the very beginning scared shitless of Kuroko (thinking he was a ghost and such) and in turn, Kuroko thought Aomine was pretty loud and unpleasant at first, but they quickly grew fascinated with each other: Kuroko admired Aomine’s passion for basketball and Aomine admired his resilience and dedication. It wasn’t love at first sight per say, but it was hope at first sight. They knew they had the potential to be something that both scared them and lift them up, and that’s why they crashed so hard when that potential shattered to pieces.

7) - What annoys them the most about their partner? Would they change it if they could?

Aomine’s annoyed with how easily things seem to come for Kuroko: sure, he works hard when it comes to basketball and the things he wants in life, but he’s just so in tune with his feelings. He can say “I love you, but I’m mad at you right now and I want us to solve this” in a way that Aomine doesn’t even feel attacked, and that confuses him because he’s not that in tune with his inner workings. It’s good that at least there’s one of them who can handle a conflict well and knows what’s up, but he feels like he relies on Kuroko too much and feels guilty when his immaturity stands in the way of their relationship. Kuroko, in turn is annoyed with Aomine’s inability to communicate his wants and needs and his tendency to hide when there’s something wrong. He’d much prefer it if Aomine was honest with him, even if he ends up saying hurtful things - at least they talk about it. As for changing, they wouldn’t change the other for the world.

10) - Who drives? Cooks? Does the handiwork? Cleans? Pays the bills? Handles the public?

Driving: Aomine. They’re both excellent drivers, and even though Kuroko is the safer/slower/more patient one, Aomine enjoys it more than him so he’s usually the one behind the wheel (and getting road rage).

Cooking: Kuroko. It’s not that Aomine is a particularly lousy cook, but he is a bit clumsy with stuff like spices and measurements,so he’ll just let Kuroko’s more experienced hands - and palate - move the things in the kitchen.

Handiwork: Oh Aomine is fantastic with tools. If it’s about a broken tap/sink/lightbulb, Kuroko’s more than enough to handle it, but if it’s anything more serious than that, he’ll wait for Aomine to get home and fix it for them. Being curious about the nature and structure of things makes him a natural at dissecting and putting things back together, and also yes, he likes to show off with his masculine skills thank you very much. (I......suppose this is what handiwork stands for #nonnativeenglishfears)

Pays the bills: both of them wtf? Neither of them are millionaires, they do halfsies. If it’s accounting and actually doing the process of paying them it’s Kuroko though, he’s the adultier adult in the relationship.

Handles the public: neither of them. If they have to make an announcement to friends, Kuroko would more likely take the fall but they’re not the kind to stand in front of crowds making big speeches anyway.

16) - Do they keep secrets? Lie? Cheat?

They don’t cheat. Aomine is the kind to keep secrets and lie to Kuroko, and even though he sees right through the lies, he can’t help the secrets like that. They’re usually about how Aomine feels but can’t accurately put into words, or he doesn’t even want to acknowledge: fears and anxiety and guilt and doubt, all the things he imagines he would hurt Kuroko with. It takes him a long time to realize that his silence and his tendency to keep things from him is much, much more painful to Kuroko than whatever he wants to hurl at his head at a weak moment, but he does, and these instances start happening less regularly.

20) - What does their home look like? Their room?

They work part-time during college to save up for a small apartment on the outskirts of Tokyo. It’s charming, small but cozy: the living room/kitchen area is kept mostly clean (courtesy of Kuroko’s tidiness) with just a few sports magazines scattered around. There’s a dog bed in the living room next to the TV where Nigou can nap during the day and one at the foot of their bed (which is not used very often since they usually let Nigou sleep in their bed). The bedroom has fairy lights, something Aomine first labeled ‘gay’ but quickly recoiled when Kuroko expressed his liking for it. The bed is always made on Kuroko’s side and almost never on Aomine’s; they have bedside drawers, Kuroko’s is always clean and empty besides a box of tissues and a bottle of water, and there’s always something(s) scattered across Aomine’s. They have house slippers and whenever someone comes to visit they whip out an extra pair. It’s all cozy and homely and Aomine keeps thanking Kuroko for keeping it that way.

it was just supposed to be an AoKaga oneshot about the boys being awkward and getting together and Aomine having an internal crisis the entire time, but it fizzled out about halfway through bc I didn’t really have a direction to take it in I was mostly just riffing.

Excerpt:

Bottom line, there was something about a guy saying “I hate you,” with his mouth and “you're beautiful,” with his eyes that created a category that probably shouldn't exist between “bitter rival” and “um... crush?” and pulled a word of strangled acceptance unbidden and immediately from Aomine's throat. And in the days following that massive moment, and the tiny spell of relief and mutual agreement that had come after... absolutely nothing of note happened.

He felt like something... kind of should've happened. Like in one of those shoujo romance novels where new lovers fall into each other’s arms amid a swirling pink flurry of hearts and roses. That kind of thing. But no, after that earth-shattering split-second that had thrilled and terrified them both, and probably rearranged the fucking cosmos in its wake, life... just seemed to go on as normal. The sun still came up in the morning, and went down at night; the world kept on turning, none the wiser to the extraordinary phenomenon that should have shaken it to its core.

they say the line is thin

I straight-up wanted to write something twisted, it’s been such a long time since I’ve tortured these boys... so I started a oneshot in which Aomine chokes Kagami during sex... and not in the kinky way.

Excerpt: (cw: implied choking)

Something twists in Aomine’s chest, seeing him like that, some desperately childish ache that’s so strong and pure it’s almost hideous. His eyes begin to sting as it clenches thick and toxic in his guts, tightening like a noose as he shudders for breath. He can barely see straight.

His hands are shockingly dark on Kagami’s skin, and they’re even darker on his neck, large enough to fit perfectly around it, the tips of his thumbs kissing over the slope of his trachea. His fingers are folded snug against the curve of his spine, just cradling him, just feeling the weight of his head as it lifts away from the mattress. His glistening chest rises and falls at irregular intervals, his eyes are closed, and he’s so fucking beautiful that it can’t be real. It shouldn’t be.

lifeguard AU

I’ve wanted to write a silly, tropey AoKaga lifeguard oneshot for ages... they say write what you know, right?

the only content I’ve ever seen for this AU is one person pining for the hot lifeguard, or being rescued by them, I’ve never seen anyone write rival lifeguards, and as an ex-lifeguard I can attest that this was definitely a thing that existed. at my job people would mark X’s on their visors for every save they made, and that was something that could get really competitive, which explains this dialogue snippet I have drafted.

Excerpt:

“Fuck you, chain riding doesn’t count.”

Kagami’s glaring at Aomine’s face, at his downcast eyes beneath the soaking wet fringe of his hair, instead of the Sharpie he’s holding in one hand, but he knows he’s not about to correct his mistake.

“It so does count,” Aomine says, putting his visor firmly back on his head, two new X’s added bold and black to the fading, ever-lengthening row along the brim. He crosses his arms over his chest.

“It was one save.”

“It was two people!”

domestic FTM AoKaga

idk I need more FTM Kagami in my life... I only have the beginning bit of this one written out, and I probably need to rework it, it’s pretty old and it’s pure fluff.

Excerpt:

“I get that it was urgent and all, but next time can you try not to break my face? I like my face.”

Kagami came willingly enough, and planted a light, apologetic kiss on his temple, “I like your face, too.”

On rare occasions, he got to watch Aomine totally melt. His shoulders would drop, his frown would soften, and even his eyes would seem to simply relax and brighten up… and then he would ruin it by opening his mouth, every time.

“Hmm... that’s pretty gay, man.”

“Both of your hands are on my ass right now,” Kagami pointed out.

Pro Bono

ok but just think about Aomine and Kagami as rival lawyers... angry snarky boys in suits... inadvisable after-hours courtroom sex with ties still on... come on.

I bounced this idea off my friend Sam and we thought it’d be hilarious if the firm is owned by Kagami’s dad, and at some point Aomine grabs the wrong ass on accident. Then later comments that Kagami has the same ass as his dad and Kagami’s like “how the fuck do you know that??” “mistakes were made, that’s how.”

the main thing holding me back from writing this AU is I have no idea how courts work or what the daily lives of attorneys are like, I need to binge-watch some SVU for research purposes or something.

a mere shadow

I was inspired by Smokey310’s What are we drinking anyway for this idea. basically a oneshot in which Aomine is at a party and pining over Kuroko/regretting things gone wrong between them. he runs into Mayuzumi there, and is just drunk and miserable enough to decide he’s an acceptable substitute for the time being. Mayuzumi’s working through issues of his own (Akashi-related) and decides to humor him; they make out and possibly do other things that are not a good idea for people dealing with a recent heartache.

heavy aesthetic skater AU

this is a recent idea so it doesn’t have an outline or anything yet, but... I just wanna write more AoKagaKuro getting up to shenanigans, I’ve been bombarded with a lot of skater content on my dash lately, and I wanna write more short, atmospheric fics that have a specific tone and “feel” to them, ya know? this one would be like... pure 90′s urban grunge and skate park aesthetic, flannels and Vans and crowding on railings together to watch the streetlights come on as the sun sets... that kinda thing.

garage band AU

on the subject of AoKagaKuro shenanigans... I’ve seen professional band AU done (usually with the entire GoM) but imagine for a moment if you will my friends... indie startup Soundcloud band with three members, only one of whom can actually sing (it’s Kuroko), the other two are super competitive guitar players who get in each other’s faces and throw in the occasional backup vocals when they aren’t throwing things at each other. imagine the late-night recording sessions, crashing on each other’s couches and sharing headphones. imagine one of the two resident dumbasses trying to download an mp3 file and it turns out all choppy and corrupted, and they all argue about whether it sounds better that way. imagine the “found sound” percussion (most definitely involving Aomine slapping Kagami’s ass like a tambourine) I just want this concept to exist okay it’s self-indulgent af but it gives me so much joy.

Eskimo Brothers

okay so... here’s my urban dictionary entry for the day, courtesy of my ex-coworker and very own Eskimo brother Moon.

Eskimo brothers (n.) two or more people who have, separately and/or coincidentally, had a sexual encounter with the same individual.

this trope could honestly feature in any of my AoKagaKuro concepts, or it could get a separate fic of its own, and I’m a little undecided on the combination (most likely Aomine and Kagami both slept with Kuroko, but I could also see it going another way). I don’t have an actual... plot? of any kind for this idea but I just love the thought of it existing and would love to write it someday.
