triple trouble, atsumu miya
Tumblr media Tumblr media
pairing atsumu miya x f!reader word count 1.6k synopsis atsumu steals every reporters' attention as he introduces the media to his triplets during a post-game interview; or, more accurately, his triplets steal all the attention. like father, like sons. content contains domestic fluff, dad!atsumu, atsumu & reader are married and so in love, babies, mention of pregnancy more in this collection!
Tumblr media
The flashes of cameras going off, the constant exclamations of “Miya! Miya!” coming from the crowd of journalists and reporters all vying for his attention, the fact that the foldout chairs they use for all these post-game interviews are harder on your ass than falling on asphalt — all of this is being handled with ease by a smug Atsumu Miya.
Or, normally all of this would be handled with ease by a smug Atsumu Miya.
But right now, the Atsumu Miya struggling to take a seat in the most uncomfortable chair known to man, dyed hair a mess, his usual trademark smirk replaced by furrowed brows and a look of concentration, doesn’t appear to be the godlike adversary on the court. In fact, he looks oddly human.
The cause of what has humbled this cocky athlete and reduced him to mere mortal man are the three chubby toddlers he’s cradling in his arms.
All of them are identical, from their chubby cheeks to their little grubby hands. Heads full of thick, dark brown hair (reminiscent of their father’s natural color) poke out from Atsumu’s hold, and the eighteen-month-olds’ eyes are all full of childlike wonder as they watch the crowd, confused as to who all these people are.
After finally getting settled into his seat, Atsumu addresses the crowd casually, as if he didn’t spend the last two minutes ensuring that his baby boys weren’t going to slip from his arms while he tried to prepare for this interview. Akimitsu is secured in his left arm, Akihiko in the right, leaving poor Akinari to cling onto Atsumu’s neck.
While athletes have been getting more comfortable with bringing their kids up on stage with them, no one has ever seen a professional athlete haul his three babies with him.
A fact that one reporter is more than happy to point out.
“Miya, wife put you on babysitting duty?” A male journalist calls out from the crowd. A few chuckles follow, but Atsumu just smiles at the mention of you.
“Nah. It’s not babysittin’ if they’re your damn kids, right? Besides, she deserves a break.” A few appreciative murmurs flutter through the crowd.
After the initial surprise of seeing identical triplets being carried in the MSBY Black Jackals’ setter’s arms, the reporters are back to business as usual. They’re all professionals — even if hearing Atsumu give them a great quote to use as a hook (“I respect Nakamura as a human bein’ but calling him a setter for a professional league volleyball team is an insult to setters everywhere.”) is followed by him cooing sweet words of affirmation to whichever of his sons happens to be babbling in his ears.
“Nakamura isn’t a very good player, is he, Akihiko?” No one outside of your family and his teammates have ever heard Atsumu sound so affectionate. His words are practically coated in sugar, and it’s hard to remember that he’s insulting another player in the league whenever he’s practically bumping noses with his toddler son when he says it.
Akihiko, most likely due to his father’s influence, lets out a stream of enthusiastic gurgles that Atsumu automatically translates to him being in complete agreement with him.
“Write that down.” He says to the crowd. “Even my baby knows he’s shit at the game.”
There’s a few more minutes of Atsumu answering the usual post-game questions, but halfway through one of his responses, Akinari loses his grip on Atsumu’s neck and is about to tumble to the floor before Atsumu’s reflexes kick in. You’ve made a joke once that you think Atsumu’s reflexes have become heightened after becoming a father; his athletic instincts have merged with the famous “dad reflexes” all fathers seem to be gifted with. (Atsumu tells reporters that this is why he keeps on becoming a better player; people think his family would hold him back, but once again, family is his greatest blessing.)
“Ya gotta hang onto me, buddy.” Atsumu can’t even pretend to be stern when he tells this to Akinari, who only smiles at him and exclaims something unintelligible. He shifts Akinari to his left arm, relaxes back in his seat, and is even excited to answer a question concerning his play style compared to Tobio Kageyama’s, but as he readjusts the two boys in his arms, Atsumu can’t help but startle at the fact that he has three kids. Not just two.
Momentarily panicked, he almost wants to ask why the hell no one told him one of his kids jumped ship but then he feels a tug on the bottom hem of his volleyball shorts.
Peering under the table, Atsumu is greeted with the sight of Akimitsu’s mischievous little face. He’s the oldest of the three and takes after Atsumu the most — meaning, he’s the cutest little nightmare there could ever be.
“Whatcha doin’ under the table, Mitsu?” Atsumu asks, and Akimitsu gives out a happy, gleeful shriek. He’s clapping his grubby hands together and cheering.
“Dada found me!”
“I did find ya, buddy.” Atsumu coos. “Now why don’t you come sit on daddy’s lap?”
After wrangling up all his kids once more, Atsumu sighs and looks up at the timer in front of him.
“I have enough time for one more question.” He tells the crowd.
“Are you excited to get out of here and get back home to the wife?”
“I’m always happy to come home to [Name]. If there’s a professional league for motherhood, she’s going into the hall of fame. I don’t know how she handles these fools by herself all day.”
Akihiko takes a tiny, chubby hand and smacks Atsumu in the face. Repeatedly.
“Home! Home!” His slaps get slightly more aggressive, but Atsumu’s received some serves with his face before, so it doesn’t really phase him. “Home! Mama!”
“Well, you heard the man.” Atsumu actually gives a genuine smile for the cameras. “We gotta head home.”
Tumblr media
You’re applying your moisturizer in the bathroom despite the mirror being fogged up from the hot shower. It’s probably why you don’t anticipate strong arms wrapping themselves around your body, and you gasp before your muscle memory recognizes him. Your body easily relaxes against his, and you’re smiling as you ask your husband,
“Had a good day today?”
“We took ‘em in two straight sets. Slaughtered the other team to the point where it wasn’t even fair.” He angles his head just right so he can kiss you on the cheek, but you gently slap him away.
“I’m putting on moisturizer right now.”
“Great. My lips are dry.” He goes in for another kiss, and even though you’re giggling, trying to pull away from him, he still plants a peck on your soft skin. “Should I go for seconds, just for good measure?” He teases.
“Hmm, I guess so.”
“Oh? What’s with the change? Realize how much you can’t live without my touch?” He pulls you in closer to him, your back pressed firmly against his chest. He’s fresh out the shower, stray droplets of water greedily clinging onto his skin.
“Maybe.” You tilt your head back on the front of his shoulder so that you can see him. “You know your interview is trending on Twitter, right?”
“Oh, yeah? Bet Nakamura’s pissed.” Atsumu sounds too happy at the concept.
“No. There’s actually an interesting clip that keeps going around. Someone already used it as an intro for a thirst edit of you.”
You like it when Atsumu is thinking. There’s an adorable crease in between his furrowed brows, and you can practically see him going through the memory files in his brain, trying to figure out what could possibly be worthy of inspiring an edit of him.
“You seriously don’t know?” You’re laughing at him, and it’s the sweetest sound in the world. Atsumu doesn’t take kindly to being the butt of a joke, but from the moment he saw you, he knew he’d do anything to stay by your side, even becoming a fucking court jester if that’s what it took.
You reach for your phone on the counter, taking a few seconds to load up the fan edit you have favorited.
He’s burying his face in your hair, hiding away as he hears the audio of him going now why don’t you come sit on daddy’s lap playing on a loop. He groans when you let it replay, uncharacteristically shy as you keep telling him to watch it.
“The comments are the best part, though, baby!” You haven’t been able to stop giggling at jackingthejackalsoff’s very bold and very true statement of yeah, if i were [name], i’d pop out triplets for him too tf 😭🙏.
As Atsumu’s hands travel to rest against the growing swell of your belly, you tease him. “So, when the twins are born, do you think you’ll have enough space in your arms to haul all five of our kids, or should we finally use that baby chest carrier Shoyo gifted us?”
“I can carry all of ‘em and you onto that stage.” He regrets making this smug remark whenever you slightly drop your teasing tone and use what he dubs The Mom Voice on him.
“Oh? If that’s true, then why did it take you so long to realize Akimitsu crawled out of your arms while you were busy calling your opponents scrubs?”
“Have I ever told you what a wonderful mother you are? And this moisturizer! Wow, I don’t know what you’ve been doing with your skin, baby, but keep it up.” He’s peppering your face with more kisses, hurriedly trying to change the subject, and you gladly let him.

little!miya gets sick and single dad!osamu is in over his head. the little boy's fever is raging and he's inconsolable, refusing any of the care his papa is desperately trying to offer him.
he's only asking for you.
"W-WHERE'S BABE? I want my ba-aaaaabe," the four year old wails, his cheeks flushed scarlet and snot dripping from his nose as the tears continue.
"babe's at home, buddy. you'll see her tomorrow once ya get some sleep, alright?" osamu wipes at his son's nose as he tries to comfort him but it doesn't help much. the little boy clutches tighter at the plush toy tucked under his arm—one you bought for him on a trip to the aquarium, one of the first days the three of you spent together—and turns his head away from his father petulantly.
"I ONLY WANT BABE."
samu sighs, raking a hand through his greasy hair. he's exhausted. it's been hours of this, and his son is showing no signs of relenting.
finally he cracks, reaching for the phone in his back pocket.
"he's asleep now."
the bedroom door closes behind you with a soft click.
samu is slumped against the wall in the hallway, his knees spread and head hanging, having been banished from the room by his own flesh and blood the minute you showed up half an hour prior.
"thanks fer this," samu says quietly, keeping his voice low as you crouch down on the floor in front of him. "i'm sorry to call so late."
you press a hand to his cheek, running your thumb over the shadow of fatigue inking under his eye. it's darker than usual, and you understand why.
"call me anytime, samu," you reassure him. "you know i'd do anything for you two."
"ya shouldn't have to do this, though," samu mumbles, struggling to meet your gaze that feels too tender—too comforting and familiar and pitying—right now.
"i barely did anything," you argue, a bit indignantly. "i just read him a story and helped him take off his pyjama top so he could 'wear his jammies like papa.'"
samu laughs tiredly at that, a short, wry breath of air through his nose.
"and i didn't have to do it," you add again after a moment, taking both of his cheeks in your hands and forcing him to look at you properly. "i wanted to, because i love you both very much."
samu's eyes are burning. he knows it's because he's overtired. hell, he wouldn't be surprised if he caught whatever virus his son brought home from school. but regardless of the why, the tears are flooding up inside his chest and threatening to spill over.
"love you," samu says, the words all breath and unequivocal truth. "'m glad yer here."
he leans forward and tucks his face into the crook of your neck, and you wrap your arms around him as you welcome it.
you hold him there, on the floor outside his four year old son's bedroom, for as long as he needs you to.
finally, osamu feels a bit more himself, and is ready to pull away. you brush a few strands of his hair out of his gaze once he's extricated himself from your embrace. there's a little twinkle of mischief behind your eyes. "you should go get cleaned up and ready for bed, and i'll go grab that ice cream i hid in the back of the freezer behind the broccoli."
samu smiles, leaning forward and pressing a kiss to the edge of your mouth.
"i love you," he says, speaking the words against your welcoming lips.
"you already said that," you tease him, tilting your head so that your reply meets the centre of his own.
"i mean it, though," samu replies, inching back only far enough that he can see both your eyes, the ends of your noses brushing as he watches your lashes flutter. "so, wanna marry me?"

‘I hate you’
Tumblr media
Character: Husband!Iwaizumi x Wife!Reader
Warning: Angst with no comfort (I know you guys hate me at this point).
A/N: I am a fan of angst w/ no comfort in case you guys didn’t notice. I will be releasing more angst and different scenarios. Be free to send a request babes!
Tumblr media
The night was dark, the only source of light being the faint glow of the the city’s skyline as Iwaizumi parked his car in front of his home. The weight of a grueling practice session hanging heavily on his shoulders. His muscles ached, his mind was a whirlpool of strategies and his heart was filled with unspoken longing for the comforts of his home, but hey, nobody said that training the Japan’s Men’s Volleyball Team was easy.
As he opened the door, the warm glow of the living room light washed over him, a stark contrast to the cold darkness outside. You, his lovely wife, a beacon of love and support greeted him with a tired smile.
However, your six-year old daughter, Yuki, a bundle of energy and joy, ran towards him, her tiny arms wrapping around his tired legs.
Dinner was a quiet affair, the only sound being the clinking of cutlery against the plates. Yuki, however, was a chatterbox, her excitement about her upcoming ballet recital bubbling over. “And we will be doing the Swan Lake!” “I have been practicing a lot daddy!” She spoke animatedly, her eyes sparkling with anticipation, her voice filled with hope. She turned to her father, her innocent eyes searching his. “Daddy, will you come to my recital?” she asked, her voice barely above a whisper.
Iwaizumi looked at her daughter, his heart aching at the hopeful look in her eyes. He wanted to be there, he really does, to watch his little girl twirl and dance, to be the father she deserved. But he knew the harsh reality of his schedule, the relentless demands of his career. “We will see,” he said, it’s all he says, his voice heavy with regret.
Your smile faded, replaced by a look of disappointment. You knew your husband words for what they were— an unfulfilled promise. Yuki’s face fell, her excitement replaced by a quiet sadness that you were quick to notice. It was a scene all too familiar, a bitter pill you had to swallowed many times before.
Tumblr media
After dinner, you cleaned the kitchen, the silence of the house echoing the heaviness in your heart. But you were determined to make this right, as you ascended the stairs into your shared bedroom, you made a silent vow. To take manners into your own hands. To ensure that your daughter recital would not be another missed milestone, another broken promise.
You husband may be a national hero, a symbol of strength and resilience, but to your daughter? He was simply ‘Daddy’. And she deserves to have her ‘Daddy’ cheering for her from the audience, not from miles away. She deserved to have her hero by her side, not just in spirit but in person.
The bedroom was bathed in the soft glow of the bedside lamp, casting long shadows on the walls. You sat on the edge of the bed, hands folded in your lap. You turned to look at your husband, eyes reflecting the turmoil in your heart.
“Hajime,” You spoke, voice steady despite the storm brewing in your heart, “We need to talk about Yuki.”
Iwaizumi, still in his practice clothes, looked at you, his brows furrowing in confusion, “What about her, babe?” He asked, his voice betraying his exhaustion.
“You know she needs you there, Hajime. She needs her father,” You replied, voice barely a whisper.
Iwaizumi just sighed, raking a hand through his hair, “I’m here, aren’t I? I’m working hard for her, for us.”
You shook your head, a sad smile playing on your lips, “That’s not what she needs, Hajime. She doesn’t need the money, or the fame, or the glory. She needs her father. She needs you to be there for her, to support her, to love her.”
Iwaizumi’s eyes hardened, his patience wearing thin. “There will be a million recitals, I’ll go to one of them.”
His words hung in the air, a harsh reality you both had been avoiding. Your eyes welled up in tears, heart aching at this indifference. “You haven’t been to any of them, Hajime. Not one.”
Iwaizumi scoffed, his frustration clearly boiling over. “What am I missing? Kids twirling for three minutes and twenty five seconds? It’s stupid, honestly.”
His mean and harsh words echoed in the silence of the room, a stark reminder of the widening chasm between you two.
“Hajime, how could you say that? She has worked very hard.” You said in disbelief.
Unbeknownst to both of you, a tiny figure stood outside the door, her heart shattering at her father’s words. Yuki, your little ballerina, had heard it all. The argument, her father’s indifference, your heartbreak. She clutched her ballet shoes to her chest, heart soaking the satin fabric.
The harsh words continued to fly between the two of you, voices rising in the quiet of the night.
“You’re being mean, Hajime.” You said, voice trembling with emotion.
“I don’t have time for this,” Iwaizumi retorted, his exhaustion seeping into his words. “I’m too tired to argue.”
And with that, he turned and walked away, leaving you standing alone in the middle of the room. As he made his way to the bathroom, the argument continued, both of your voices echoing off the cold tiles.
Meanwhile, Yuki had silently made her way downstairs. With a heavy heart and tear-streaked cheeks, she threw her beloved ballet shoes in the trash, a silent testament of her shattered dreams.
Tumblr media
The morning after the storm was always the calmest. Iwaizumi woke up, his body aching from the previous night's argument. It was his day off, a chance for him to rest and recover. Despite the tension between the two of you, you greeted him with a kiss, almost like a silent promise that you would speak about it later.
"I'll make breakfast," Iwaizumi offered, hoping to ease the tension. You nodded, attention focused on preparing Yuki's bag for ballet class.
As he entered the kitchen, he saw Yuki sitting at the table, her eyes devoid of their usual spark. Her small shoulders were slumped, her spirit seemingly crushed.
"Morning, Yuki," Iwaizumi said, his voice soft. "What do you want for breakfast?"
"I'm not hungry," Yuki replied, her voice barely above a whisper.
He couldn’t help but notice the change in his daughter’s demeanor. Her usual bright and bubbly personality was replaced by a quiet sadness that seemed to weigh her down. He found it odd, considering she was usually excited about her ballet classes.
“You’re okay bub?” He asked, concern lacing his voice.
But his question was met with silence. Yuki simply looked away, avoiding his gaze. He decided not to push her, instead focusing on preparing breakfast.
As he was cracking the eggs into a bowl, he heard your frantic voice from the other room. “Hajime, have you seen Yuki’s ballet shoes? I can’t find them anywhere. I swear they were here.”
He glanced at his daughter, but she was still avoiding his gaze. A sense of dread washed over him as he opened the trash bin to discard the eggshells. His heart sank as he saw the familiar pink ballet shoes nestled among the trash.
Realization hit him like a punch in the gut.
She had heard it all.
Fuck.
Was it possible? It couldn’t be!
“Honey,” he called out, his voice strained. You rushed into the kitchen, eyes wide with worry. He pointed to the trash bin, the discarded ballet shoes. The sight of it, it felt like a dagger into your heart. You turned your gaze to your daughter, your eyes pleading for an explanation.
“Yuki, why did you throw your ballet shoes away?” You asked, voice barely a whisper.
“I hate ballet! It’s stupid!” Yuki yelled, her voice filled with a bitterness that was far too heavy for her young age.
The harsh words hung in the air, a painful echo of the argument from the previous night. Iwaizumi felt guilt, realizing the impact his words had on his daughter, he didn’t know what to do.
“Yuki! Don’t speak to your mother that way!” He yelled, trying to regain control of the situation.
But Yuki’s next words cut through the air like a knife, “I hate you, Dad!”
The room fell silent, the harsh words echoing off the walls. You gasped, hand flying to your mouth. “Yuki, don’t say that…” You whispered, but it was too late.
Yuki was already running up the stairs, the slam of her bedroom door echoing through the house.
Iwaizumi stood there, stunned. The words ‘I hate you’ echoed in his mind, each repetition like a punch on the gut. He turned towards you, desperation in his eyes. “Fuck, I swear I didn’t mean any of it baby. I was just tired…” He said, but his words fell on deaf ears. Already making your way up to the stairs, attempts to coax your daughter out of her room, but you were only met with silence.
He was left alone in the kitchen, the guilt gnawing at him. He had hurt his daughter, and he didn’t know how to fix it. Has he destroyed his daughter dreams?

WHEN HIS BABY GETS JEALOUS. . .
Tumblr media
✫ ft. akaashi, atsumu, iwaizumi, and suna x mom!reader
✫ a/n: the kids are ages 1-3 (can stand, walk, talk in sentences). the babies aren’t really “jealous” in some of these. they just want some love and affection, too !!!
✫ warnings: usage of “mom” and “mama” to refer to reader
Tumblr media
✫ AKAASHI leans into your touch after coming home from the office, his tie loosened and his hair a bit messier than usual. you two are splayed on the couch, his head resting peacefully on your chest as he updates you on bokuto’s recent msby game. and just minutes later, you feel your son pull on your leg. an eruption of babbles leave his lips as he whines and tugs. “mmm, it’s my turn with mom,” keiji whines into your collarbones. you can't help but laugh at your husband's child-like behavior. "keiji, get off, you're gonna make him upset." and as keiji nuzzles his face in the crook of your neck, your baby breaks out into a sob, "mama! mama!" filling the small living room. keiji gets up from his place on your chest and picks your son up, mumbling "i'm sorry, bud" into his equally messy hair. "mama's all yours," he kisses the top of his head and allows him to crawl happily into your arms. "you're as whiny as your mo-" "keiji." he can't even be upset at his limited time with you — the image of you holding his entire world makes up for it.
✫ ATSUMU lingers in the kitchen after tucking your daughter in to bed just about every night. he puts dishes in the cabinets, wipes down the counter, and traps you between his arms for a moment of intimacy. "mind if i kiss ya, babe?" he asks, knowing you'll let him anyway. "you'll do it no matter what i say," you turn your head to the side, creating distance between his lips and yours. "no! i'm a gentleman! that's why ya married me, isn't it?" a laugh leaves your lips and you're stepping up onto your toes to reach his. his hands wrap around your waist, pulling you close against himself. it's been hard to find time for yourselves — your daughter was at the age where she'd walk (stumble, really) away if you took your eyes off of her for even a second. and as you pull away from the kiss, breathless and all, you hear the pitter patter of her tiny feet approaching you two. "baby, why are ya awake? can't sleep?" atsumu bends down to her level, pushing her hair back from her eyes. she rubs at them and then wraps her tiny arms around his neck to kiss his cheeks. "i want a g'night kiss too!" she whines. "alrighty, baby, ya can get as many as ya want! make sure ya give mama a kiss too," he tells her before peppering her cheeks with loving kisses.
✫ IWAIZUMI used to wake up early every morning, getting ready for the day at a slow and relaxing pace, but he finds it harder and harder to do so when you cling onto him, asking for five more minutes of peace, five minutes of calmness before the storm (the storm being your daughter, of course). she's gotten clingier with every step she could take. she wakes up with the sun and makes her way to your bed, struggling to climb up with her tiny legs. the sight of her dad's arm around your waist brings a pout to her lips, her cheeks puffing out as she whispers a "daddy?" and of course, he's awake (he's been awake for the past 15 minutes). "wanna come up?" he asks her before unwrapping his arms from your body and lifting her onto his broad chest. she immediately crawls over him, kicking his face with her feet in the process, to place herself between you two. her little arms and legs wrap around your torso like a koala, and she looks up at you with a toothy smile. "my turn,” she says, nuzzling her head into you. you hear iwa mumble under his breath (something about waking the team up with kicks to the face).
✫ SUNA always searches for you and the twins in the crowd. his team had just won a game that he's been training especially hard for, and it's the first time in a while that you've seen his dimply smile on his face. he runs up to you and the twins with nothing but joy in his eyes. grabbing ahold of your waist, he presses a kiss to your lips — his teeth clash against yours and he's laughing into the kiss out of sheer happiness, but you don't mind it one bit. your sons pull at your clothes as they try to get your attention. suna catches a glimpse of their raised arms and pulls away from you to lift his boys into his own arms, one on each side of his body. they're cheering for their dad, clapping and yelling, “you did it!" suna's never been an affectionate guy, opting to show his love in more subtle ways, but he feels the urge to pull you and the boys in for a tight hug (one where you can feel the rapid beating in his chest). he kisses the top of your head before pressing one on each of the twins' cheeks. "let's go celebrate, yeah?" suna grins. he’d do anything to hold you three like that again after each win — his prized possessions in his arms.

Your seven-year-old son Haruto is currently watching 'Bluey' on the carpet in the living room, eating his Lucky Charms cereal, when both you and Tetsurō walk into the living room.
"Bud, put the TV on mute, we need to talk about something." Tetsurō crosses his arms and you stand next to him with a smile on your face.
Haruto frowns and puts his unfinished bowl down, looking at you and your husband.
"Am I in trouble?" The little ravenette asks, looking a little bit scared that he did something wrong.
"You’re not in trouble, Haruto. Your mum and I wanted to… deliver some news." Tetsurō tries to comfort him but it only makes the little ravenette feel worse.
"Okay?…" You can see that your son pales a little bit and you’re scared he’s going to throw up on the carpet on how nervous he looks.
You crouch down to his level, your smile comforting his uneasiness a little bit.
"You’re going to be a big brother Haruto. We're having a baby." Your gentle voice calms him down a little bit more and Haruto understands and begins to frown.
"But I don’t want a sibling."
Kuroo sighs and scratches the side of his neck, looking at you for help.
You gave your husband an annoyed look before looking at your son again with a smile.
"Haru, I know this change may be scary but I am sure that you will be as excited as me and daddy when we welcome your little sibling into the world." You ruffle his black messy hair and when your posture is straight again, Haruto can see a very little bump on the lower part of your stomach. He actually thought that maybe you ate a little bit too much of food from last week but since you’re about to change, the little ravenette feels like his world is going to change as well. And not in a good way.
You and Kuroo leave the room and Haruto tries to focus on his show again, but the thought of having to share everything with another kid in the household is making his stomach twist with jealousy.
The next morning after you left for your ultrasound appointment, Kuroo stays behind to watch your son while also having to work from home.
Haruto walks over to see his dad at the kitchen table, working as it seems.
He holds his penguin plushie close to his chest when he starts talking to his father.
"Dad?" Haruto looks at his father, who is typing a lot down on his laptop with a concentrated face.
"Hm?" Tetsurō keeps his face focused on his laptop, writing something down on his notepad that lays next to it.
"When does my new brother arrive?" Haruto asks curiously.
"Well, we don’t know yet and we don’t know if you get a brother or a sister."
"Why not? I thought you said I will have a sibling?" Haruto‘s face scrunches up a bit.
"I know. But it’s too early for that to know, buddy. Mum has to grow your sibling and until her stomach gets a little bit bigger, we don’t know for sure yet if it’s going to be a girl or a boy." Tetsurō looks at his son from his peripheral vision, seeing that his son's face angers up a bit.
"I don’t want a sister."
"Well, mum can’t influence that either. Why are you against having a sibling anyway? Mum and Dad thought you would be happy about the news."
Haruto looks down at his bare feet, losing the grip on his plushie.
"A brother or sister would mean I have to share my room, my food and you and mommy." Haruto mutters in shame, a hint of hurt and sadness mixed in his words.
Kuroo sighs, turning around so he fully faces his son.
"I know that change can be scary, Haru. But I promise you, once your sibling arrives, you’re going to be happy to have one. Think about uncle Bo, he has four kids. All of them are happy that they have each other." Kuroo says with a little smile.
"But they fight over food and their toys sometimes." Haruto explains while looking up at his father.
"I know but even mum and I fight sometimes. It’s normal to fight with someone sometimes. It would NOT be normal if they never fight or if they fight all the time. When I was your age, my mum, your grandma, and my dad would fight all the time. In the end, it was just me and your grandma. Your dad only had uncle Kenma as a friend in the beginning and back then, I would have done anything to have a sister or a brother."
Haruto looks at his father with a sad expression, tears starting to collect in his eyes as he runs to his father and hugs his legs very tightly.
Kuroo is quite shocked by the action but chuckles heartily as he cards his fingers through Haruto's hair, comforting him.
Haruto calms down and accepts the fact that he will be a big brother.
Over the next few months, Haruto watches the change in his mother, physically and emotionally.
Your stomach begins to grow more and you cry over the silliest things. (At least in Tetsurō‘s opinion)
You cried a full hour because a butterfly hit your windshield, your husband brought you your favorite flowers and you felt nauseous after smelling them, causing you to feel bad because you can’t enjoy them, saying that Tetsurō wasted his money. You’re eating the weirdest and most disgusting food combinations, sometimes having corn dogs and dipping them in Joghurt or other times especially in the mornings, you eat hot flaming Cheetos with mint chocolate chip ice cream.
Right now, Haruto looks in concern with his hazel eyes at you, as you are eating vanilla ice cream with tuna chunks in it.
"Mum, why can you have ice cream for breakfast and I can’t?" Haruto pouts.
Kuroo snorts behind the rim of his coffee mug.
"You’re not concerned about the tuna in the ice cream?" He chuckles as he looks between you and his son.
You continue to savor the food in your mouth when you shot your husband a nasty glare for that comment.
It makes Kuroo gulp in nervousness.
"I am craving this. Now be quiet and let me enjoy my food, Tetsū." You snap at him.
"Yes, ma'am." Kuroo replies with a shaky voice.
Haruto glances between the two of you and giggles at the exchange between his parents.
Exactly four months later, Haruto is sitting in front of the entrance door, anxiously waiting for his parents to come back.
Kenma is watching him, since your water broke in the middle of last night, having to go to the hospital for delivering Haruto's baby sister.
Currently, the dyed blonde is gaming on his Nintendo switch when he looks over at his godchild. Haruto is sitting in front of the door like a dog waiting for its owner to get home. He looks incredibly worried and rightfully so, since last night was pretty hectic and you looked in so much pain that all Haruto wanted to do was comfort you.
Before Haruto knew it though, his father called Kenma in a panic and not even twenty minutes later, the pro gamer showed up at their doorstep. He was never that fast at their house.
With a last quick goodbye, you and Kuroo were out the door and it’s already been over 15 hours.
Haruto did not like this one bit.
You were in pain and it was caused by his stupid sibling that he was actually excited for.
Kenma is very tired after being woken up by the former Middle Blocker at 1 am last night but still, he needed to watch Kuroo’s son.
Nekoma's former Setter is looking at him for a few more minutes until he decides that they should do something, to get Haruto’s mind off a bit.
"Hey little gremlin, want to watch some SpongeBob?" He offers.
Haruto looks at Kenma and gets up from his sitting position to join the former Setter on the couch.
During an episode, Kenma's phone vibrates with a message from the roosterhead.
'Lost count of how many times (Y/N) has threatened to kill me. Bones in my right hand are crushed to death. Say hi to Himari Kuroo. How is Haru?'
A picture follows underneath the text message.
It’s a picture of a newborn in a soft pink cat beanie and it’s swaddled up in a white blanket with cartoon kittens all over them, appearing to be sleeping.
Kenma smiles at the picture, happy that everything went well despite the long labor that you had to go through.
'He is fine. He keeps staring at the door like a little dog, waiting for its owners to get back.' How is (Y/N)? The blonde texts back.
‘She’s good, exhausted af. She’s been sleeping and eating mochis for the most part. Really missing Haru as well.'
'How about I drive Haru to you? That way he can see you and (Y/N) and (Y/N) can see Haru again.' Kenma offers.
'👍🏻😌'
Kenma turns to the little ravenette and sees that he is looking down at his penguin plushie with a sorrow expression.
"Come on little gremlin, let’s go see your parents and your little sister."
Haruto's face snaps up to his godfather and he smiles excitedly.
The two of them are driving to the hospital where you delivered and Haruto keeps swinging his short legs back and forth, excited to see his mama and his papa again.
When Kenma and Haruto walk through the doors of the hospital, people are gushing over the two of them, causing Kenma to feel slightly uncomfortable because they think Haruto is Kenma’s son.
When they reach the labor and delivery unit, Kenma asks for your name and the nurse at the front desk leads them to the room you’re staying in.
Haruto is too hyper to contain his excitement and runs to the room, almost slamming it open.
The sudden opening of the door startles you and Kuroo but quickly changes to happiness to seeing your son.
"Mama!" Haruto climbs on the bed towards you and your raging hormones are making you cry when you finally have your boy back in your arms.
"Haru, be careful! Mum had surgery done on her stomach!" Kuroo scolds his son and tries to pull him off of you.
"It’s okay, Tetsu. He just missed us." You soothe your husband while caressing the little ravenette’s head and back.
Kuroo joins your side on the bed, wrapping his arms around you and his son, feeling at peace.
Kenma watches the scene with a fond look before deciding to give the three of you a little privacy.
Remembering why he came here in the first place, Haruto wiggles out of his mother’s embrace and sees that your stomach has shrunk down.
"Where’s my baby brother?" He asks in curiosity.
"You have a sister, Haru. Her name is Himari and she is currently with the nurses, she needed to be weighed." You explain to him, brushing the messy strands back.
Just as he was about to reply to you, the nurse walks in with Himari and Haruto sits up straight to be able to see his sister.
He scooches back a bit into the arms of his father and watches intensely as a little bundle of wrapped blankets is handed back carefully to you.
"You want to say hi to your little sister?" You whisper in a gentle tone, unwrapping some of the blankets so your son can see his little sister better.
"She looks like a mochi." His amber eyes shine in excitement.
"She does. Make sure you protect your little mochi, okay Haru? She depends on her big brother."
Haruto nods enthusiastically and carefully touches her face and giggles a bit at her scrunched up face.
Later on, Haruto is knocked out from being up for so long and is sleeping soundly against his father while you feed Himari.
"Tetsu, you’re staring." You say while breastfeeding your newborn, not taking your eyes off of Himari.
"Sorry, kitten. Can’t help myself." Kuroo smirks in mischief as he continues to look at you with love and affection while Haru is sleeping soundly against his chest.
Kuroo can’t describe the words how happy he is to have a family with you. He hopes that in the future, Haruto and Himari will grow up close and maybe if he plays his cards right, have another bundle of joy with you in the future.

Ushijima Wakatoshi
When you arrive home you're met with the sight of both your husband and your baby girl knocked out on the couch. Her little head is resting upon his chest, her small hand curled up in a fist too.
You can see the drool on his shirt from her little lips. She's just so tiny and he's so big. Whenever you'd post them on your social media the first thing people comment on is the size difference. They always talk about how soft and gentle he is with his baby girl for such a big man.
Wakatoshi seems to notice your staring because his olive eyes open looking around for a second before they meet yours.
"Looks like you two had a good time." A smirk graces your lips. He chuckles quietly, rubbing her back when she starts to stir awake.
"She wanted to play animals so I dressed up as a tiger for her. She insisted that she should paint my face to make me look the part." Oh. So that's why his face is orange with smears of black on it.
"I'm guessing she was a baby tiger?" Your little girl's face was also colored in orange and black face paint.
"Precisely." Wakatoshi watches as you pull out your phone and snap a few pics.
"I'm sure Grandma and Papa would want to see what you two were up to today." He nods, a small smile gracing his face.
Wakatoshi is the kind of parent to let his child experience little moments that make them happy
He doesn't limit their imagination as his mother tried too when he was younger because of his left-handedness
GENTLE GIANTTTTTTT
He doesn't enjoy singing but he will hum his baby to sleep
When his baby was little he would always have her sleep on his chest which is why she's so used to it (i love his chest....)
all in all ushi is such a good dad
Kita Shinsuke
You were watching as Shinsuke and your little boy were out in the rice fields. There were two cold glasses of water waiting for them when they came back.
They had matching hats and overalls; the whole thing. Shinsuke insisted his six year old should be interested in little boy stuff like playing and discovering the world, but your little boy wanted to help his daddy out in the fields.
So of course, Shinsuke would show him how to do basic things around the rice fields. He made his son a mini bag of rice to carry since the normal bags are way too heavy for a six year old.
Little giggles escape your lips watching the two of them haul the bags of rice toward his truck.
"Are you helping daddy out?" You ask recording him.
"Yep! I'm almost as strong as daddy is!" To prove his point he flexes his little muscles.
"Oh wow!! You are super strong." Shinsuke chuckles too. He's sweating up a storm, wiping his forehead every few minutes.
"Do my two favorite boys want to come take a water break?" Your husband is grateful for your observation skills, he could use some water.
Your son looks to his father waiting to see what he says. The little boy admires his father with his life.
"Yeah let's get some water, bud." Shinsuke scoops up his son causing the little boy much joy.
Kita is very stern with his kids, he likes order (which is why they have so much respect for him)
Almost never breaks the rules like if there's not supposed to be any sweets before bed he'll listen to the rules even if his kids beg and beg
He teaches them to be honest hard working children (just like how he was when he used to help his grandma clean)
There are fun days too, he'll take them to amusement parks and such.. only for good behavior though
lmaoo I think he looks a little scary to other kids, so when he's chaperoning at field trips and stuff none of the kids (even the most mischievous ones) dare to act up
he's always taking his kiddos to onigiri miya because they always talk about how much they "love their uncle samu's food!!"
if they show any interest in volleyball he takes them to see the red falcons (aran) or the black jackals (atsumu) they always think it's the coolest thing ever
Kyotani Kentaro
The screaming match going on downstairs didn't concern you in the slightest.
Your husband and your daughters do this at least once a day, which is why you're still laying in bed minding your own business.
"IF YOU DON'T DO YOUR PROJECT YOU'LL FAIL!" Kentaro yelled at his ten year old daughter. She was; in your opinion a carbon copy of her father.
"I DON'T WANT TO!!! IT'S BORING-UHHHHHH." She drags out the last syllable, causing a giggle to leave your lips.
"WELL LET'S GO SEE WHAT YOUR MOM HAS TO SAY ABOUT IT." You pretend to sleep as the three of them stomp up the stairs to see what you have to say.
"[name], your child won't-" when he notices that you're "sleeping" he shushes his children and walks them out of the room.
You hear a mumbled, "Will you do it if I help you?"
The older daughter of yours agrees with her father's suggestion. The younger one has no clue what's going on but she wants to be included too. So, she also hums in agreement.
He communicates his love through snarky comments and eye rolls
Doesn't find them annoying, just could use a break sometimes
He thought being a dad would be a piece of cake.. imagine his surprise when he changes his first poopy diaper
Scary dog privileges still apply; no one dares to look at his kids wrong, much less try to hurt them
He girls think it's funny that he's "bald"
Will NEVER admit it but he is a girl dad
Azumane Asahi
"I think I'm gonna be sick, babe, what if we don't find him?" Asahi asks tugging in your shirt sleeve. This isn't your best parenting moment; your little boy is lost somewhere inside this huge Costco. Your son who's eight insisted he'd go grocery shopping with you even though he was probably gonna complain after ten minutes about his legs hurting.
Of course your husband wanted to tag along. He enjoys family bonding and he saw this grocery trip as an opportunity to execute it. The two of you had gotten so caught up in conversation that you didn't even realize your son went missing for maybe four or five minutes? You hope it was only that long.
"Ren! Where are you honey?!" You yell out, not too loud so it's not fairly obvious of your failure as a parent but loud enough that he could hear you and follow the sound of your voice.
To make matters worse he has his nintendo switch that his eyes are probably glued to.
"Oh baby, what.. what if someone takes him?" Asahi's voice sounds horrified. Little seeds of insecurity make their way into your brain, but you must keep strong because your husband is absolutely losing his shit.
"Management on aisle twenty-seven, we have a child climbing the racks." You two give each other a knowing look. That sounds 100% like something your son would do.
"You stay here with the basket, I'll go get him." Asahi says leaving no room for argument when he runs off to get his child.
Within a few minutes he returns with Ren. Asahi's confused by the way you giggle, but you find it cute how his man bun was undone, most likely from running fast.
"Man, I haven't ran that fast since high scho-"
"Dad you need to work out more!!" Naive little Ren says, causing his father to sigh loudly with a cheeky smile.
"And you," you say pointing to the little boy in question, "need to stay where mom and dad can see you. Are we clear?"
He nods in a respectful manner.
"Now let's finish shopping.. as a family."

you've only seen wakatoshi smile twice...like actually smile.
the first time was the night the two of you got married. He face remained stoic the whole time but the minute you asked him to help you out of your dress a large grin broke out on his face.
Giggling you ask, "toshi what's got you so happy right now?" mirroring his large smile. He looks to the floor and then your matching wedding bands.
"this is all I've ever wanted."
The second time was when you gave birth to a baby girl. When he craddled her in his arms two tears rolled down his cheeks as he gave the softest smile to your baby girl, his baby girl, the baby girl he would protect and cherish for the rest of his life.

sweet everything, atsumu miya ; one shot collection
Tumblr media Tumblr media
SWEET EVERYTHING┆this just in: maybe he can be fixed. atsumu miya used to make news as a longtime bachelor who considered marriage to be "settling down" and as someone who prides himself on "never settling", it's clear the only ring he cares about comes from a championship. barely seven years after this iconic interview, atsumu miya walks away from professional volleyball as a devoted husband and father to the most adorable little toddlers who test his stamina as he chases after them.
a collection of inter-connected (mostly fluffy) one shots and drabbles centered around husband/dad!atsumu, maintaining the honeymoon phase of marriage, and the family antics that occur when his children inherit his wild, brash nature <3
Tumblr media
triple trouble┆before his early retirement from the game, new dad atsumu steals every reporters' attention as he shows the world his triplets during a post-game conference; only, it's really his babies that have everyone so entertained.
number one┆atsumu's always reassured you that he doesn't mind leaving behind his professional career to spend more time with the family, but the media gets to him. his creeping doubt and feelings of regret only amplify when he walks into his office to see that his sons have accidentally destroyed his trophy case, all his awards and plaques dented, ruined, or shattered into pieces on the floor. — coming soon!
my heart hits rewind┆noted as one of the longest standing (and healthy) relationships in celebrity circles, people online always speculate on how you and atsumu are still so in love with each other, especially after having kids that are constantly vying for your attention. alternatively: 5 times you and atsumu try get some alone time + the 1 time you two finally get a date night. — coming soon!
honeymoon fades┆you and atsumu celebrate your wedding anniversary (nsfw). — coming soon!
i want your dreary mondays┆before the marriage and your kids, it's just you and atsumu trying to figure things out. or: atsumu realizes he wants to spend his whole life with you and does everything in his power to convince you to stay by his side (even though you never really did need much convincing). (nsfw) — coming soon!
Tumblr media
author's note a little throwback to my bleedinqhearts days lol!!! i hope you all miss dad!atsumu as much as i did <3
Tumblr media
fan art inspired by the fics (from my old blog <3) triplets ami & atsumu

"We're going to daddy's work!" the kids sing on the back part of your familiar car as you keep driving through the busy Tokyo streets, searching for the Japan Volleyball Association's offices building. You debated with Tetsuro yesterday about if it was a good idea to bring the kids on the "take our children to work" day on his office. They're little, and especially frets, restless and rascals. Tetsuro's position on the association is way too important to have two tiny kids running around his office, but still, he was excited for today - even more than the kids. - since it's the first time they're celebrating this kind of day.
A call enters on the free hands of the car, your older son getting to read the name on the little screen before sharing what he saw with his sister. "Is dad, is dad!" You answer the call hearing your children's whispers behind.
"Love?" Tetsuro's voice sounds around the car, making you smile softly. "Did you find the office?" he asks. You take a quick look to the signals in front of you, unable to find anything that gives you a clue about your husband's workplace.
"I think we're lost." you admit. Tetsuro laughs softly. You used to drop by his office when you didn't had the kids and your way of moving around was walking. Your first work used to be pretty near to his, but getting to it by foot from the subway stop was way easier than getting there by car. Taking the right lanes, the right positions on traffic lights and avoiding passing the intersection.
"We're near a sports center." You keep explaining him what you can see, as he gets an idea of where you are, getting the exact point shortly after. He guides you through your phone, helping you to get the right directions and keeping a background conversation with your kids. Once you arrive to the building, a well-dressed Tetsuro is waiting outside, phone on his ear and all his height escaping from the sun under a tree. He waves your hands towards the car as soon as he sees you, making your children shout with happiness while you park. Tetsuro opens their car door once you shut off the engine, taking your soon to the pavement and unbuckling your daughter's chair straps, carefully taking her out of the car. He looks at both of them before his cheeks blush.
"They insisted to use this." You say, smiling, as you walk around the car to stand next to him. The kids smile showing their t-shirts, both having their surname on their backs and the characteristic color of his dad's volley equipment. Tetsuro's eyes scan softly his children, and a subtle shine appears on his eyes. Taking your phone, you kiss his cheek before pushing him softly towards them.
"Go, go. I'll take a pic of the three of you."
Tetsuro takes your face on his habds before pecking your lips sweetly, leaving towards your kids with big steps and keeling berween both of them. Your daughter gets her little arma tangled around his neck and your son sits on his knee. The three of them smile while you take the pic, smiling to yourself, feeling way too lucky to be part of this family. Tersuro stands up and calls you. "Come, we'll take a pic." You follow your husband's voice and, giving the phone to him, you take your youngest between your arms. Tetsuro picks up your older soon while he tries to get the four of you on the frame, clicking the camera button when all of you smile. "Done!" looking at the clock on his wrist, he sighs. "I'm sorry, love, but we have to go back inside. My break is over."
You kneel near your kids, arranging their backpacks and their clothes, and whispering softly some instructions.
"Don't bother daddy when he's talking with other people, and ask nicely for things. Don't leave his office without him and don't paint on papers you didn't ask for. Have a good day and make sure dad eats all his meal!"
The children laugh and hug you, giving kisses to your cheeks and assuring they will be good at dad's work.
Standing up, Tetsuro gets close to you, tangling his arms on your waist and kissing your lips. "Take care of them, and if you need anything..
"
"Call." he finishes, against your lips again. He gives a new kiss to you, before letting you go sadly. "I'll see you in a few hours." He parts sweetly before reuniting with his kids again.
He takes the children's hands on his own, walking with them towards the office, and you can't help but take a pic of the three, holding hands, giving their back to you and talking while they disappear inside the building. Your new wallpaper welcomes you when your phone gets a notification from Tetsu.

WHEN HIS BABY WANTS A BOYFRIEND. . .
Tumblr media
✫ ft. dad!akaashi, osamu, sakusa, and kuroo
✫ a/n: more dad!hq hcs bc they're all i think about !!! they're all girl dads here, and i imagine their daughters to be around 4-5 years old!
Tumblr media
✫ AKAASHI's eyes widen the second he hears his baby girl's sweet voice, her words not making it through to his head completely. keiji looks at her attentively, silence lining his lips. "why do you want a boyfriend, sweetheart?" his mind starts to race. he begins generating countless possibilities of what brought this up — perhaps he isn't giving her enough attention? he has been staying later at work... he starts thinking about how lonely she must feel at daycare as she waits for her dad to come pick her up. her little hands grab at his pant leg, pulling him out of his trance.
"i wanna wear a wedding dress!" she squeals — unlike her father, she's the most excitable ball of energy he's ever witnessed (but second to his best friend, of course). he's at a loss for words. the thought of his little angel wearing a wedding dress takes years off his life, not to be dramatic. his heart beats rapidly in his chest, and he crouches down to her level, pulling her close to his chest.
"i can get you a pretty dress, love. no need to worry about boyfriends, okay?" he consoles her, and she jumps up and down at the thought of wearing a pretty white dress. the next day, keiji picks her up from daycare with a large shopping bag. and when his baby peers over the top of the bag, she sees a big, fluffy tulle dress wrapped around a tiny crown. he kisses her round cheeks, telling her that she's always going to be his princess.
✫ OSAMU puts his spoon down gently before reaching over the table to wipe sauce off her chin. "a what?" he guffaws, not knowing if she's joking or not.
"a boyfriend!" she repeats, crossing her arms and looking up at her dad from her little seat at their dining table.
"why?"
"because," she shrugs. she goes back to eating as if she never said those heart-stopping words.
"because?" at this point, osamu's lost his appetite. there's no way his little girl who asks her papa to hold her up to the sink so she can wash her hands and sing her "clean-my-hands" song is asking for a boyfriend, of all things. she stands up on her seat and puts her hands on her hips (which is nothing new to osamu — she's always been this sassy).
"i wanna marry suna, so he has to be my boyfriend first." osamu brings his fingers to his temple, rubbing circles there before correcting her.
"uncle suna."
"suna! he said i could call him suna," she replies, playing with the animal-shaped vegetables on her plate.
a deep sigh escapes osamu's chest, and he's rubbing at his temple even faster than before. to make matters worse, she jumps off her seat and runs to her dad's room to grab his phone, hitting suna's contact on the way back to the table. watching it all go down, osamu frowns when suna greets his daughter with a "hello, miss miya~."
"hello, suna! papa thinks i'm not allowed to call you suna. can i?" suna's affirmative hum only baffles osamu more, and he can't help but smile at their odd friendship.
"alright, alright, no phones at the dinner table, missy," he grabs the phone from her little hands before hanging up on suna. she whines, but climbs back into her seat to shove a spoonful of rice into her chubby cheeks.
"see! he's gonna be my boyfriend," she chews her words. "and! i'm gonna make him pinky swear to marry me."
and with that, osamu picks up his plate and brings it to the sink, a stress vein popping along his forehead. that night, he holds her a little closer than usual, wanting her to stay this joyful forever.
✫ SAKUSA comes to a halt, stopping her in her tracks, too. his hand grasps hers just a little tighter. she looks up at him through her dark curls, her eyebrows furrowing in confusion (just like his).
"why do you want a boyfriend, angel?" his thumb runs along the back of her hand to calm himself down, really.
"my friends have boyfriends! i want one too!" her fingers tug at his tightly, urging him to keep walking towards the playground.
"oh, yeah? well, they're too young for boyfriends," kiyoomi reasons with his daughter.
"but i'm 5! that's older than before," she stomps lightly. and if it wasn't for this conversation, he'd pinch her cheeks and tell her to take a deep breath before letting her frustrations take over, but he's somewhat entertained at her thoughts. she just wants to be like her friends, and that's understandable, but the thought of her getting close to a boy makes him take a few deep breaths.
"wait 10 more years, and i'll consider letting you talk to boys," they continue to walk, and kiyoomi doesn't miss the way she rolls her eyes like he does when he's stuck in traffic. and when she starts to plead, shaking his large hand in both of her own, kiyoomi decides that a trip to the toy store can make up for his refusal. he picks out a stuffed animal for her to fill the spot she desires so badly. that night, when she cuddles her new toy instead of him, kiyoomi considers extending his condition.
✫ KUROO's laugh fills the room at her question. ("dad, can i have a boyfriend?" she had asked him with her best puppy-dog eyes after she watched an ad for a new drama on TV).
"sure you can," he pulls her onto his lap as he relaxes on the couch before bed. "but may you? no." tetsuro smiles at his own response, proud of how he handled her silly little question.
"please?" she asks, clasping her hands together and giving him sadder, rounder, cuter puppy-dog eyes.
"oh, don't do that," he tries to avoid eye contact, but she ends up laughing that cute giggle that reminds him of her first smile (he heard it one night he was trying to help her sleep, cooing at her and tracing her cheek with his finger. oh, he loves that sound so much.) "what kind of boyfriend do you want? i'll try to look for one next time i go out," he jokes, patting down her messy hair.
she beams at his words, getting up on her feet with excitement. "i want mr. spark from my TV show!"
"isn't he the bad guy?" tetsuro raises his eyebrow and holds back a toothy smile.
"but he's nice to the girl," she thinks out-loud, her eyebrows furrowing in confusion.
"baby, that's his boss. he has to be nice to her or he'll be unemployed."
"what does that mean?" she looks at her dad with wide eyes, as if he's telling her all the hidden secrets of her favorite show.
"if he doesn't listen to her, he won't get money to buy sweets," tetsuro whispers in her ear like he's passing along confidential information. she gasps — her hands cover her mouth and she thinks for a minute.
"then i need a boyfriend who is nice to me... and buys me sweets," she concludes. tetsuro pulls her in for a hug, and she doesn't fight back like she usually does with his bear hugs.
"you're a smart girl," he whispers into her head, hoping she'll let him buy her all the sweets in the world for just a little longer.

NOT A REQUEST DONT YOU DARE WRITE IT I just want to make you laugh at a thought that I had.... I spent my entire morning reading ALL of your suna x reader writings bc I WANT WHAT THEY HAVE IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK.... and I just realized that if the writings are all in the same universe then I can only imagine akito's deadpan reaction to seeing his mom's name as "doodoo fart" on his dad's phone. or worse all the kids start calling their mom that to both of the parent's horror LMAO. like one of the terror twins and Kaiya are DEFINITELY whipping it out one day lol. the conclusion is that suna is sleeping on the couch with the traitors tn while mom!reader gets to cuddle with her angels.
BUT I WANT TO WRITE IT SO BAD
Bc Akito finds it out by accident and just goes “who the heck is doodoo fart?” and rin’s just like “oh your mother.”
“Mom’s doodoo fart?”
“Yeah. I think I’m booger eater in her phone or something else feral.”
“That’s vile.”
Rintaro just smirks, and in perfect timing you come in with the two little twins in your arms, “rinnie, can you help me bathe the tiny terrors?” To which your husband nods, and your son, confidently, firmly, without missing a beat, goes:
“He’d love to, doodoo fart.”
The world stills as you shoot a fake smile at rintaro, the twins looking up at you while Akito chuckles to himself. Rintaro chews his lip, “Akito, tell me, why you’re trying to get me killed?”
“Because it’s funny.”
“Yeah. Hilarious.”
“What’s Hilary-us?” Kaiya asks, and before rintaro can stop him, Akito laughs at his sisters question.
“Mom’s nickname is doodoo fart.”
Your cheeks blaze as your six year old giggles, and at the laughter, your twins echo the sound and paw at your face, “Rinnie?”
“…yeah?”
“You’re sleeping on the couch.”
“….i know.”
“Sleepover in mom’s room?” Akito asks, and Kaiya cheers while rintaro groans.
“You’re not helping,” he grumbles.
“I’m helping me, dad.”

Kuroo was staring.
He'd been staring ever since he abandoned looking for his charger to observantly glare at your body buried beneath the two layers of blankets.
Kuroo had developed a staring problem ever since his baby fever kicked in and even worse after you revealed the little secret you've been keeping. Learning of the tiny life form growing within your stomach, Kuroo was now keen on not missing even a second of the process. Quite literally every second.
Today was no exception. He awoke, rolled over in bed to face you, and slung his arm over your stomach as carefully as he could. When you eventually woke up and begged him to either get up with you or let you get up yourself, like a lost puppy he followed your every move. Walking with you into the bathroom and watching you as you brushed your teeth and cleaned up only to get back into bed.
His eyes followed your every move. The flexing of your fingers, the tilting of your head, the parting of your lips, and the lazy fluttering of your eyes. Kuroo was intent on grasping every motion.
After coming so far with the man you fell into step with his unrelenting gaze and learned to dismiss it knowing he didn't necessarily want something all the time. Though it was quite the challenge trying to decipher what gaze of his was demanding of something, and what gaze was just a simple gaze.
Somehow the hours flew by and Kuroo gave you space to breathe, letting himself get distracted by things around the house. Only it didn't last long as he ended up positioned on his knees on his side of the bed with his elbows digging into the mattress and his chin resting lazily in his palm, eyes drifting back and forth from your eyes to your stomach.
You were so deeply engrossed in your phone that his inquisitive stare went unnoticed until the long audible huffs of air heaved from his chest one after the other in an almost perfectly timed pattern.
Kuroo huffed. A few seconds later he repeated his action.
His attempt at getting your attention worked smoothly after the tenth time as you lowered your phone and glanced at him. Only your attention didn't stay on him long enough before you went back to your phone, so Kuroo resorted to climbing onto the bed and demanding you of your attention by shifting his body to press up against your side, and his head to rest on the pillow peaking out from behind you. He buried his nose into the material of your shirt and cuddled up to you as he's done a thousand times over.
"What's wrong this time, Tetsu," You asked softly, pulling the blanket away from his face and running your fingers through his hair.
Kuroo slid his warm hands under your shirt and placed it against the small barely visible swelling of your stomach, and that in itself is an answer to his lingering stare.
"I put a baby in you" He thoughtlessly blurted out, eyes brimming with an innocent factor that made you bite back a hearty laugh.
Not denying the truth you nodded, "Yes. You did"
"I actually put a baby in you" He repeats sounding even more amazed by the fact.
"I put a ring on you and I put a baby in you"
"Tetsurou?" You furrowed your brows, smiling in minor confusion as Kuroo continued to mumble under his breath.
"Are you okay?"
"Yeah perfect. Why'd you ask?" He blinked and you shrugged.
Kuroo finds himself slipping deeper into his trail of thoughts and you don't bother to stop him. You forget your phone and the book you were reading before getting distracted on your device and focus on the way your husband's hand is subconsciously slipping under your shirt and rubbing circles on your stomach.
"What do you think it is?"
Kuroo's ears immediately perk up at your question and is pulling his face away just enough for you to look at each other.
Excitement quickly seizes his body and you can feel it in the way his usually stiff neck and tense shoulders as of lately, relieve themselves of all its repressed burdens and deflate into the bed; into your hold, with ease.
"A girl and a boy!" He impulsively exclaims as if he'd been pondering the thought quite often; which he most certainly had. Often being beyond an understatement.
Kuroo is not surprised when your brows knit together and you're looking at him as if he was insane.
You didn't oppose the idea of twins, however, you did fear the process of birthing them and that caused you to sober.
"I want a whole army of little demons to terrorize our extended family" He grins cheerfully.
"I'd for sure train one to steal Kenmas video games when I'm not around. God knows I need all the help I can get with that child. I'll need one to bully Atsumu. One to hover around Tsuki and piss him off while I record the entire thing. One would be my littlest carbon copy and inherit all my amazing good looks and personality and taunt people for the hell of it. Another would be your carbon copy but a total daddy's girl, have me wrapped around her tiny fingers just like her mama... And─"
"And that sounds adorable" You shush him, "But you're getting ahead of yourself, Kuroo. Let me push this one out first before you start planning my vagina's destruction"
"When you put it like that I kinda sound like an inconsiderate douche who's neglecting his wife's beautiful body and incredibly delicate mindset" He grumbled with a pout, pushing himself to lay on top of you, careful to not squish your baby bump.
"....You are"
"Am not"
"...."
silence
"Am I really?" He mumbled with round innocent eyes peering up at you knowing it was your weakness.
Kuroo shifts, lifting his body off the bed and hovering over you. His hands pressing into the headboard beside your head.
"Yeah, you're right, you're not... usually"
"Funny" He mutters with a roll of his eyes as he scoots down to bury his face between your breasts. Instinctly your fingers comb through his hair and your nails are running smoothly along his scalp, occasionally tugging pieces of his hair that were tangled in the process.
Kuroo moves down lower until his face is in line with your stomach and presses a light kiss to its covered front.
"Your mama's a real meanie, you know that? You agree with me don't you baby girl, you'd love another sibling won't ya? Such a shame Mama said no, what a bore"
The steady vibration of your chest beneath him as your laughter resonates in his ears has him grinning ear to ear. Kuroo can't contain the complacent grin etched onto his face and the way his heart leaps and flutters in absolute awe as he manages to bring out your smile and laughter.
"So... Baby girl, huh" You mused.
"Yes. Daddy's little girl" He says proudly.
"I wouldn't want to be there if it proves otherwise and it's not your baby girl but a baby boy instead"
"Hush, wife. It's a girl"
"And if it's not?" You chewed on your bottom lip which Kuroo spontaneously decides to tug free with his thumb and lean up to give it a short lewd kiss; his lips moulding gently around the plush of your bottom one and holding it captive between his teeth. He nibbles at it while muffling out incoherent sentences that you don't try to make sense of.
"Then it's a boy" He brazenly dismisses, admiring the subtle swelling of your bottom lip.
Kuroo refocuses his attention on his 'little girl', lifting your shirt above your stomach before peppering the skin with heartfelt kisses. Each one is warm and sensitive and filled with no less love than the one before it. And you have to physically restrain yourself from squirming due to the slight ticklish sensation it causes.
"And if it does turn out to be a girl then we'll just have to make a boy next time and vice versa"
"You're really pushing this little army agenda, aren't you"
Kuroo pauses. He tilts his head to the side and gives you a blank look that you're unable to interpret.
"Mostly" He answered. "I do hope to have a big family with you. But that all depends on you, my beautiful wife. It's your body... Just as it is mine" He whispered the last part suggestively and you don't refute; not entirely disagreeing with him. After all, no one has loved your body through its best and through its worst with its every flaw and insecurity, as he has.
"I hope you know I'll support any and every decision you make. Giving me this one here─" He gestured to his hand resting on your stomach, "is more than enough. If my teasing is getting too much for you and you feel pressured, then you gotta let me know baby girl. Because the last thing I wanna do is force you into something you aren't ready for or don't want"
"Mhm," You hummed thoughtfully, placing your hands on the back of his head and lightly pulling it down to lay on your stomach. Kuroo doesn't oppose your actions and simply follows along.
"Birth is scary" You confess. "That's the part that scares me. I want as many children as my body and sanity will allow me to have! But there's so much more to consider ya know? Like this is going to be our first baby and I'm thrilled but also terrified out of my mind fearing the worst" You wheezed with a loss of air after the words just began to spew from your mouth.
It's Kuroo's chance to laugh and your chance to feel as his chest shakes.
He shifts his weight onto his knees and uses his hands to cup your face, hushing your shortened breaths and heaving body.
"You're fine" He assured with a subtle nudge of his nose against yours. "There'll always be more to consider. But you know me, beautiful. And you know that I'm gonna be here every step of the way"
"I'm going to take care of you and our kid" He promised, heart pulsating steadily as he holds you.
"It's going to be our child and it'll be our family. You, me, and the baby. We'll take it as it comes alright. One day at a time, together, yeah?"
Your arms encircle his neck and you pull him closer. "Mhm"
"Love you baby girl" Kuroo whispers with a smile as he draws circles on your cheek with his thumb.
"Love you more"

part 2 of this since silly bear's birthday is soon
Several years later
By now your sure Kiyoomi has a dog pile of children on him. Tonight is your daughter's 1st birthday, as well as Kiyoomi's. Loe and behold all the children flocked to your unsuspecting husband's lap while he watched a US volleyball game. As well your adult child Atsumu.
By now you're use to the sight of Kiyoomi trying to push the setter's legs off of him as he holds his daughter in his opposite arm. Kaia's already five running round your living room giggling as the big samoyed dog chases her. Her brother now eight holds on to his mother's leg while she talks to Bokuto's sisters. Mei's birthday was a big event or so she thought since her little brain told her all these people were her friend's not her dad's.
The large man sits on the couch with Osamu's two year old twins resting their heads on each of his thighs. Their binkys bob in rhythm while they dream. Atsumu's 3 year old some how ended up on behind Kiyoomi's head leaning on the wall while he pulls at the dark curls. Kaia's lost interest in the puppy and walks over so Kiyoomi's left arm now holds her to his side. Mei not leaving his other arm.
If you told highschool Kiyoomi he'd be a child whisper by his thirties and enjoy it. He'd assume he must have gotten a pretty harsh concussion, but all is well in Sakusa Kiyoomi's brain.
♡♡♡♡♡♡
"Mei this one's for daddy. Your cake is next," the little girl crys in her papa's arms. It's her birthday why can't she blow out the candles? Her arms begin to flap against her sides as she tries to get up from Kiyoomi's lap, but Kiyoomi's quick in wrapping his arms around his daughter.
"sing it fast," he says while he holds his squirming and squealing baby close to his chest. He quickly blows out the candles before Mei's superhuman baby strength allows her to break free. The little girl screams as her little eyes begin to cry more. She's gonna be a drama queen for sure. Wonder which parent she got that from?
You quickly bring in her cake with a big number one candle on it and she immediately quiets down. She twists in Kiyoomi's arms trying to get closer. Everyone laughs at the baby's antics and her scrunched up face. She huffs and puffs as Kiyoomi sets her down to sit on the table.
When the lights go out her hands clasp together and her eyes close. Maybe you shouldn't have taken her to the shrine recently. When the singing finally comes to an end the baby girl blows out her candles and joyfully laughs enjoying every moment of attention.
♡♡♡♡
Thank god today was successful. Only one hissy fit and no scratching, at least it's a win for you. Walking back from walking out the last guests you find Kiyoomi back on the couch this time only one baby rests on him. Mei's little hands are balled up into fists while she lays on her dad's chest. Her eyes shut and her binky bobbing lightly.
"today was a long day for her," you say sitting on the floor next to Kiyoomi's lying form. He huffs out a small laugh and looks down at his babygirl. "she didn't leave your side once! I'm a little jealous Kiy," you finish looking into his eyes.
"hey, it's not my fault i'm really comfortable," he says softly rubbing his hands along his baby's back lulling her into a deeper sleep.
"you're not wrong," you respond, leaning down to leave a kiss on his lips. "happy birthday Kiyoomi,"
"thank you, my love"
